The Speckled Egg PGH is a charming daytime cafe located inside the Union Trust Building in downtown Pittsburgh. The eatery offers a congenial atmosphere with ornate molding, electric blue carpet, and fuchsia armchairs in a domed atrium setting.
Incredible breakfast spot. The dishes are crafted beautifully with so much flavor and care. I loved the French toast, and my friend loved the country fried steak and said it was some of the best she’s had. I love coming here. Their coffee is excellent too!!!! The only con is that if you have a reservation, you still could end up waiting 15 mins for a table because it’s a small spot and they do get busy (this is what happened to us). But I always recommend this spot and the food is always so worth it.
Rebecca K — Google review
We made the mistake of showing up on race day with no reservation, but the reviews I had read made me want to wait. We waited an hour fueled by the promises of a knowledgeable staff and gluten free options…and it was well worth the wait! Let me start by saying, every single person we encountered on the staff was friendly and had a smile on their face. The host/hostess gave a proper estimate on wait time AND we watched them so gracefully handle every snappy guest complaining about wait time. (I personally couldn’t do what I watched them do lol). When it was our turn we were seated at the bar and greeted by Sampson. While everyone behind the bar was helpful, Sampson immediately asked if we had any allergy restrictions, listed everything on the menu that was gluten free or gluten free adaptable, and then double checked any questions I had with the kitchen. I don’t know that I’ve ever eaten a meal at a restaurant that I have felt more confident in. I had the yogurt, fruit, and granola bowl. Every piece of fruit was ripe, making each bite perfect. My husband had a fried chicken biscuit. He also has a raving review. He told me the friend chicken was the most flavorful fried chicken he’s had in a long time and the sauce on the sandwich was the perfect amount of tang. So in conclusion, not only was our food AMAZING, I also felt safe eating it. We aren’t from here, but will definitely be back.

We were kind of find a breakfast place our last day there and we were going to Nikki’s but they were closed and a businessman saw that we were frustrated and recommended the speckled egg in the PGH building Oh my gosh! What an amazing building and the restaurant bar is in the rotunda of the building so you get a great view of the dome inside spectacular view. We ordered breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. I honestly have to say it was one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had dining out, made me fall in love with Pittsburgh , every meal we’ve had was delicious The service was impeccable, very friendly, knowledgeable, and good at recommending food for someone who has a gluten intolerance I had the hen hash with gluten-free toast absolutely delicious!
J R — Google review
Very friendly and courteous. Good prices and fast for being in the heart of downtown. Fluffy omelets, perfectly cooked chorizo. Great grilled cheese and other sandwiches to compliment a good brunch menu. Fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Damian B — Google review
This was legitimately the best breakfast we've ever had. The breakfast sandwich was hands down the best I've had. Every individual aspect of each dish was actually perfect, and the dishes were totally delicious. The service is lovely and homey, and it's in a very cool building with good vibes.

Fantastic Buttermilk Poppy Seed Pancakes!! Three generously-sized pancakes that were fluffy and not over-priced. This husband & wife owned local business is in the beautifully decorated Union Trust building.

Breakfast restaurant
Waffles, INCaffeinated on Fifth Ave is a vibrant breakfast spot known for its creatively topped waffles, eggs, and crêpes. The casual and brightly colored joint offers a wide variety of gourmet waffles with options to top them with bourbon syrup. In addition to their extensive menu of exquisitely wicked waffles, the shop also serves sandwiches and custom coffee drinks. The Downtown outpost is family-friendly and caters to all dietary needs with gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Did not disappoint in regards to the food. I loved the taste of my waffles, I got the sampler of 4 waffles! So good and worth it. My husband got a mimosa that was strong and delicious! I got a latte that was great as well. Only complaint was the service was slow but when I looked it appeared to only be 2 cooks in the kitchen.
Rayven W — Google review
We love their waffle and French toast options. The seasonal waffles are always worth trying if you come here often. We usually go to a different location but while in the city there weren’t many breakfast options open on the weekend so here we are. I love that they have mimosas and bloody Mary’s along with many other alcoholic and nonalcoholic options, great for a brunch! Our waiter was fabulous and the food was great as usual. I loved people watching from the large windows to the city street. It’s a decent sized place for a downtown breakfast joint but not huge so big parties be warned.
Liz L — Google review
It was my first time here today, and I loved it. The Vegetarian Delight (omelette and home fries), the chocolate chip waffle, and the Megaberry Waffles were all delicious and well portioned. Our server was also courteous and attentive. I would just say avoid the white chocolate latte. My friend, however, really liked her Cinnamon bun flavored latte. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast and brunch!
Marzieh N — Google review
Had the waffle frolic, 4 different flavors each on a quarter sized waffle. Gravy and strawberry chocolate were the better of the four, the banana peanut butter was a touch heavy and the bacon sour cream was okay. Friend got the vegan waffles which I heard only good things about
Jerry X — Google review
Our first time visit was amazing!! Our server, Erica, was patient allowing ua extra thinking time. She suggested the Signature Latte which was lovely! The Sausage Gravy waffle with added scrambled egg was delightful! We also ordered a custom blueberry inside and strawberries on top waffle which was incredibly delicious!! We will definitely be returning the next time we are downtown.
Rebecca G — Google review
We decided to have a late breakfast here because it was in walking distance from out hotel. We asked for a table for 8 and staff was incredibly rude to our friends and did not accommodate the request. Instead we were sat at 2 separate tables and half of our group got mad and didnt even show up. It wasn't super busy when we went and our food took an hour to arrive. My Benedict was not good. The cold crab ruined it and I had asked for it on the side and it came directly on top of it. After waiting an hour I was not about to wait again so I ate parts of it and dealt with it. Not one person at our table had raving reviews about the food or the way the hostess acted towards us.
Nat — Google review
A half hour wait for food to come out, but that's cause it was busy. The food was great, and the waffles were the best I've had in some time. Service was good.
Cody W — Google review
It was not busy when I got there. Came in sat right down. The waitress was super nice. I order Bacon egg cheese sandwich. It kinda took a while to get my food considering there was hardly anyone there. When I got it I found a hair in my sandwich. Told the waitress, she took it immediately and had me another one made (I hope). Got another sandwich and it was delicious. They put the spicy mayo on it and it was so good. The potatoes were different! But the white potatoes and sweet potatoes were delicious. I would recommend, accidents do happen. I gave 4 stars overall bc the kitchen was blaring Eminem music. It was a bit too loud.

The Commoner is a trendy gastropub located in downtown Pittsburgh, offering a farm-to-table dining experience with a diverse selection of draft beer, wine, and cocktails. The establishment has gained recognition for its innovative cocktail program, featuring unique creations by Lead Bartender Alex Dando. Guests can enjoy the rooftop Biergarten with stunning city views when weather permits. The restaurant also serves breakfast with an array of inventive dishes, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely brunch.
We had a delicious dinner here tonight! We tried the Focaccia app and the beet salad…they were both amazing. We actually had 2 beet salads because 1 just wasn’t enough! The 3 entrees my party ordered were the Salmon, Chicken and Pork dishes…all were wonderful. The presentation was beautiful and they were very tasty! We ended the evening with the Cheesecake dessert to share, since we were all pretty full. It was amazing! Our server Tyler B. is the name I believe was listed on our bill…he was great! He was very attentive, nice and professional. He noticed when our drinks were getting low and brought out refills without us even asking. We dine out often and that hardly ever happens! The only thing that I wish we knew…was that some things on the lunch menu were available. We saw a table near us get served a delicious looking burger and fries and my son would have loved to have tried that over the pork. Next time though! We will be in the area every 6 weeks for the next 5 years and this will definitely be a go-to spot for us!
AFW — Google review
We were staying at the hotel so we wanted to come here for brunch since we only got drinks the night before. Very nice restaurant and our waitress was so kind. I love eggs benedict so I was thrilled that they had it and I went out of my comfort zone to try the berry bowl (i’m not a fan of quinoa) and that was probably one of my faves. My boyfriend was torn between the french toast and chicken & waffles but ended up with french toast. French toast literally didn’t even need extra syrup it was just that moist. We saw so much we wanted to try but that just means we have to come back!
Michala S — Google review
We visited The Commoner for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't very busy. The atmosphere is chic and the decor is sophisticated and refined but still intriguing. Service was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a coffee, which was delicious. They must have a really good coffee supplier, because it was really very good. For lunch, I ordered the BLT and it was incredibly good. It was grilled perfectly. The combination of the pesto spread and confit tomatoes were perfect. Just really good. I had a Caesar salad on the side. The meal was just perfect for an afternoon. The Commoner does not have a kids menu, which is okay. But the only option for my picky eater was a bowl of French fries (but he didn't complain 😊). I'd definitely visit again. Plus, it's inside Hotel Monaco - one of my favorite hotels.
Gloria — Google review
Incredible experience! The flavors of each dish were impeccable. The cocktails were divine as well. The spicy crab on their appetizer menu was our favorite. Although, we did not have anything leftover from any of the dishes we ordered, as it was all so magnificent. The atmosphere is also wonderful. It was a delightful experience and we will definitely be back in the future
Gracie F — Google review
We went there for Sunday brunch. I loved that their menu wasn't too overwhelming but had good- sounding options. I got the pork belly and pierogies, and WOW. Really good. My daughter had a salad and fruit which looked so fresh. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Pittsburgh!
Cristin — Google review
Great location for a special meal. Made reservations for Mothers Day brunch yesterday. Wonderful menu specials and the flowers were a nice touch. I've always enjoyed and recommend this place highly.
Tara B — Google review
I went to The Commoner for Pittsburgh Restaurant Week and left very disappointed. When I made my reservation, the official Restaurant Week menu online listed the Allen Brothers Steak as an entrée, and the Commoner’s website linked directly to that same menu. But when I arrived, I was given a printed menu that looked identical — except the steak was missing. The manager explained it was “sold out,” but the physical menu itself didn’t look like a last-minute change; it seemed prepared in advance without the steak. That left me feeling misled. If a dish isn’t going to be available, especially the one highlighted online, I think the restaurant should be transparent about it so guests know what to expect.
August L — Google review
Good breakfast spot. Lively and friendly staff. Food was hot and fresh. Service could be more attentive. Salad was crispy and flavorful, fruit and yogurt was on point. I let with ham was filling and great. Would return again. I don’t usually love restaurants that are part of a hotel lobby but this seemed separate.

Brunch restaurant
Lola's Eatery, named after Lower Lawrenceville, was founded by a couple who wanted to share their love for baking with the people of Pittsburgh. The menu reflects their diverse cultural backgrounds and offers a variety of delicious food choices with creative toppings. Despite being closed for on-site dining due to COVID, Lola's still provides takeout options featuring Mexican- and Filipino-inspired eats, including vegan-friendly items like the Bunny bagel.
Super funky brunch spot near the Roberto Clemente Museum! Came here on a whim and I was not disappointed. I had a Bloody Mary and the all American breakfast. Everything was well seasoned, cooked properly and didn’t make you feel sluggish after eating! I recommended this place to anyone who does not want a run of the mill joint!
Trevor O — Google review
My boyfriend took me here for a brunch date and let me just say the interior is so beautiful. I am obsessed with daisies, and that was my favorite part. The restaurant was clean and I lokws the food. I got an everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese and a hash brown
Miimii T — Google review
Let's start with the Mango Lemonade- had to order it twice it was that good The egg rolls were ok at best. Now the bacon egg and cheese was another story-those were some very good fluffy cheesy eggs along with the bacon and the bagel put it all together. Overall 4/5
Atraile B — Google review
Everything was absolutely delicious! We had the sweater weather latte, Ube cinnamon roll, garlic fried rice, and street corn avocado toast, and everything was so so good. The staff was very friendly and the vibes were super cute. Highly recommend!
Margaret G — Google review
Easily the best brunch in Pittsburgh and anyone who tells you otherwise can’t be trusted. The breakfast egg rolls, the Taylor gang, the Lox and Ube cinnamon roll are favorite. They also make one of the best cappuccinos in the city. Vibe is so cute. Only downside is that most tables are for 2 people although they’ll try to fit 3 chairs at it. Hard to get seating for larger parties but worth the wait.
Michael T — Google review
no joke - had literally the best bagel EVER. it was called the veggie monster i believe and it was a party in my mouth. i also got the iced chai on the side (which was the perfect amount of sweetness!) the service was quick and kind, and let me tell you, the decor inside?? beautiful!! lovely lovely.
Saffron U — Google review
Customer service here is top notch! They accommodated my big party on the day of the ube festival, it was packed and our orders were placed for takeout but they still seated us. I cant recommend this place enough. The staff actually care about you! The place is super cute and the vibes are top notch too. As for the food, I cant think of a better Filipino food place in Pittsburgh so that's a 5 stars from meeee. Highly recommend the ube cinnamon roll!

Square Cafe is a vibrant and trendy breakfast and lunch spot that offers a seasonal American menu with vegetarian options. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in May 2023, this Yinzer institution features an expansive location in East Liberty with a spacious outdoor patio offering 360-degree views of the area. The menu includes weekly specials and seasonal dishes, along with classic items like the famous biscuit breakfast sandwich and vegan chive counterpart.
Square Cafe is quickly becoming a favorite restaurant for me. I haven’t had any of their drinks yet, but am especially curious about the amethyst twist and the sunrise tea cooler! All the vegan dishes I’ve had so far have been quite delicious but my favorite my far is the peanut butter pancakes… it pairs so delightfully with the maple syrup. The staff is awesome, too. So sweet and smiley! Thanks for two great visits.
Caroline — Google review
I love the vibe of this place. They offer a great variety of both savory and sweet dishes! I got the breakfast burrito, and it was filling and delicious. My husband ordered a single buttermilk pancake, a Nutella crepe, and we shared some fries. The pancake was fluffy and delicious. The fries were perfectly crunchy. We were a bit disappointed with the Nutella crepe, though, the crepe tasted bland. We also grabbed the French toast latte to go. It was a bit too sweet for me (I’m not much of a sweet tooth), but my husband really enjoyed it. I’d definitely go back again, great service and friendly staff too!
Joud M — Google review
Square Cafe nails that perfect mix of cozy and lively. The space feels bright and welcoming, and the service is quick without rushing you out. Food came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered tasted great and felt thoughtful from the presentation to the balance of flavors. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over brunch without feeling like you’re in the way. A solid spot for a casual meal that still feels like a treat.

Ive been here before and it was great! This review reflects my most recent visit. The good: The matcha lavender Latte and blueberry pancake were great 🥞 The bad: The square breakfast is a miss, and should be taken off the menu. For a restaurant like this, there needs to be more value than what you are given. I received what seemed to be half an egg, some very dry potato cubes and plain sourdough bread with no jam on the table. The sausage links were fine, but overall this meal just does not belong on the menu, especially at the price point (around $15). Please fix!
Tim A — Google review
Great breakfast spot near the Shadyside area! The menu is quite vast but it seems like they have their style nailed down pretty well. It’s popular for a reason. I got to try out their lemon blueberry pancake, home fried, and bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. The lemon blueberry pancake was huge. Not a ton of lemon flavor to it, thoughm but a good amount of blueberries. It’s fluffy and well made. The syrup it came with was kind of caramel iced at the bottom, with some hard pieces present. Pretty decent overall, especially for the price. The sandwich was delicious. I loved the biscuit: bit of herbs, well seasoned, and well cooked. Just really good, even though it was starting to fall apart a bit. The eggs and cheese were great, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. The home fries were nice as well. Nice portion size and crispy on the outside while soft in the middle. Would recommend. All in all, a very nice spot.
Ulyana K — Google review
Came here for a good breakfast because we were staying at a hotel and you know how some hotel’s breakfasts are 😒. The inside was very welcoming and family friendly! The menu was vast with a huge variety of items from specialty lattes to trail mix pancakes??!! I opted for something healthier, the Florentine benedict, which was expected to have sourdough bread as the base, i don’t believe it was, it tasted and looked like regular white bread. But other than that the eggs were perfectly done and the combination of the salty mushrooms and slightly sweet caramelized onions were just divine!!
Ana C — Google review
Great local spot to get some breakfast, we loved the vibe in there and the service was great. It was a bit of a wait and there’s not much space near the entrance to wait but otherwise it was a great experience. Highly recommend checking it out!
Brandon W — Google review
Wow, the Benedicts here make square cafe an absolute must try! This place is super popular, but the short rib and corn beef Benedict’s were some of the best brunch dishes I’ve ever had. The meat was so tender and flavorful, really amazing! Breakfast sandwhich was also solid, with their chive biscuit being tasty, and the juices were fresh and paired nicely with the food. Lemon ricotta pancake was very fluffy, could have used more lemon and ricotta flavor though. But for the Benedict’s alone, definitely don’t miss out!

The menu is packed with mouthwatering options like the O.M.G Breakfast—complete with eggs, home fries or hash browns, and your choice of savory meats such as hot sausage or kielbasa.
Cute tight-knit diner in the strip. Came here with my friends and were greeted with warm smiles. It’s definitely a smaller place and gets packed but the food is WORTH IT! The Pittsburgh Eggs Benedict was something I’ve never seen before and man was it GOOD! My friends also enjoyed their food as well and the grilled cinnamon roll was the one!

Visited on October 5, 2025, around lunchtime. Upon arrival, my guest and I found a lengthy line outside the door which usually signals a popular local spot. We waited roughly 25 minutes before being seated. To their credit, the owner kept the waiting crowd entertained, which helped pass the time. Once inside, it was clear that space is limited. Tables are packed tightly, and the diner operates at full capacity, especially during Sunday brunch hours. Our server, Carrie, greeted us promptly and took our drink orders while we looked over the extensive breakfast menu. Our Order: Western Omelet: $18.67 Loaded with ham, onions, green peppers, and cheddar cheese. Nicely cooked with a rich, cheesy filling. However, note that home fries are not included and cost extra. (3) Buttermilk Pancakes: $8.89 Unfortunately, these were overly chewy likely from overmixed batter. I was expecting light and fluffy, classic diner pancakes. Famous Breakfast: $14.86 Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage links, and home fries. Nicely seasoned and hearty. Fruit Cup: $4.75 Bright, fresh mix of blueberries, strawberries, banana slices, cantaloupe, and honeydew—beautifully presented but served late after we had already begun eating. Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice: $4.65 Refreshing and naturally sweet, a standout of the meal. The Experience: While the food overall was flavorful and portions generous, there were some service hiccups. Our server forgot to bring the fruit cup until we spoke directly with the owner. Additionally, the upcharge for side items like home fries wasn’t clearly mentioned by our server, which could have been communicated better. Atmosphere & Service: Kelly O’s has that nostalgic Pittsburgh diner charm lively, close-quarters, and family-friendly. The décor is retro and fun, but the space can feel cramped when the restaurant is full. Staff worked hard under the rush, though service could benefit from a bit more attention to order accuracy and communication. Pricing: Our total came to $55.45 (including 7% sales tax). Slightly on the higher side for a diner breakfast, especially with upcharges, but portions are sizable. Kelly O’s Diner is a classic Pittsburgh brunch experience—good comfort food, lively crowd, and a community vibe that keeps people coming back. Just be prepared for a wait, tight seating, and some inconsistencies in pacing and service. Kelly O’s Diner in the Strip, 100 24th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Recommend this place for fast service and a very tasty breakfast! Walked in on a busy Sunday ~11am. Tables were completely full and there was wait with about 4 parties ahead of us but the waiy cleared up quick. Boyfriend and I grabbed a couple seats at the counter. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our dishes were served hot, good portions, and tasty. Watched the orange juice fresh pressed in front of me. We could see the staff on the floor and in the kitchen work very hard to keep up with the bustle of crowds coming and going, and still manage to give the friendliest service. Thank you guys!

Chose to come here for breakfast while visiting the area due to it being featured on Triple D. Can’t say we were overly impressed, but it wasn’t bad. Grits were hard, we’ve had better corned beef hash, and our waitress wasn’t the friendliest.

Solid breakfast food (if not a bit I overpriced due to its notoriety) in a classic diner setting in the middle of Pittsburgh's iconic Strip District. The country fried steak and eggs with home fries were perfectly prepared, and the kids pancakes and fruit were well made and plentiful. Service was meh, but not awful.

A group of 6 of us went here for breakfast. It was fantastic. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following day. Next time I'm in Pittsburgh, I'll head there for breakfast!

Nestled in Pittsburgh's west end, Mediterra Cafe Mt. Lebanon is a delightful destination for food lovers seeking a relaxed atmosphere. This charming cafe not only serves up delectable breakfast options and mouthwatering pizzas but also boasts an impressive selection of pastries and artisan foods available for purchase. With its inviting cocktail bar, private dining area, and spacious outdoor seating, it's perfect for gatherings of all sizes.
The Mediterra is such a cute little bakery and restaurant. I love going with friends, family, my husband and our dog. It has indoor bar and table seating as well as outdoor seating, with umbrellas and heaters that allow dogs and even provide water bowls for them (so nice). To order, you head through a store front that is reminiscent of a small local store with wine, honey, crackers, preserves, jams, etc. Once you’re done battling the decision to buy the organic balsamic or to buy your friend the Pinot Noir perched on the shelf, you wrap around to a bakery counter. My. God. You will find happiness there. They have seasonal cakes, cookies, breads, and a croissant-muffin. The offer juices, kombucha, parfaits and granola to go cups that are so yummy. Once you rip your eyes from the bakery, you can see the menu. They have such good breakfast/brunch options and amazing lunch as well. It is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food is so amazing- I don’t mind. It is well worth the wait. I would highly recommend their coffees as well- the chai and cereal milk lattes are marvelous, both in flavor and aesthetic. The pictures included are the house brined and roasted turkey sandwich with a vanilla latte, the milk bread French toast with the hot chai latte, and the breakfast of champions. They offer seasonal fruit for the French toast and for the coffees. Right now, they are doing cereal milk lattes, where each month, they soak cereal in milk overnight and make a latte out of it. Run don’t walk!

Mediterra is my absolute favorite breakfast spot in Pittsburgh. The food is always fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor — very European-style and elevated. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a slow morning or brunch. What really impressed me are the details — their Bloody Mary comes with tomato-flavored ice cubes, and the iced caramel coffee is made with actual coffee ice cubes, so it never gets watered down. Genius! If you appreciate quality and small touches that make a big difference — this place is a must. I keep coming back and it’s always amazing.

I enjoyed this cute little shop. There are 2 parts to it. One side is a bar and the other side is like a little bakery. They do have a few GF options for the bakery. I opted for a chocolate chip cookie and it was super soft and really tasty. My boyfriend got the soup and a turkey sandwhich on GF Fococcia. The soup was pretty good. It had a bunch of different flavors in it but it was a little sweet and I didnt expect that. I was expecting savory. I loved that they had a local brewing company in their bar too. I love when business support each other!

Mediterra has been my go to brunch restaurant for a couple of years. And I used to love the food here. But the past couple of visits have been very disappointing. On both occasions the Shakshuka have been overcooked and the eggs were slightly burned and hard boiled. Today I complained as soon as it came out. The server was really kind and replaced it. But it was still the same. So I just went through it. And the portion size is not what it used to be. Previously I could barely finish the shakshuka. But the last two times it wasn’t enough. The picture shows the quantity (I took just one spoon)

Food was amazing, I ordered the Turkish breakfast item it has fresh Greek yogurt. Would 100/10 recommend! Service not so much. This place has been on my list of places to go for months and I took a day trip from Ohio to come here and see the museums. One of the servers was very ablest and rude. My friend who is disabled asked if she can grab us a water, she said she only gets water for old people and people with children then said it was self serve… I didn’t know it was self serve this was our first time here. She could have just said it was self serve and pointed us to where it is and I could have grabbed it for us. I’m okay grabbing our own water she just said it so rude.

Great place! When I was there, it was mostly packed, which is a good thing! I got a margarita pizza my first visit and my second I got the avocado toast. I enjoyed both. I also got a Matcha both times wasn’t my absolute favorite. I would say. if you like it very strong it would suit you but I like mine sweet and it wasn’t very sweet. Definitely give this place a try!

Great place! The food is delicious but the size is not too big, right for one person who’s not starving lol Coffee could be better, still ok. They also sell European products, like preserves and pasta. And their daily baked bread is really amazing!

Simone's Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch is a cozy dining spot located in Mt Lebanon that has been serving up delicious breakfast and brunch dishes since February 2019. The menu features unique twists on classic breakfast items, such as the salmon scramble with sautéed spinach, peppers, onions, and goat cheese topped with a homemade dill aioli. In addition to traditional staples, Simone's offers Greek-inspired dishes like Eggs Benedict with gyro meat and tzatziki sauce on farm bread.
This was literally the best food and best service I have had anywhere. Everything was so amazing, we over ate because we didn't want to leave it. Trust me when I say do yourself a favor and visit this place. It was fabulous. We didn't wait for anything and the lady who was running the dining room had nine tables. (We had just went out to dinner recently to an Olive garden and the waitress had four tables including us and it took us 15 minutes to be acknowledged, another 20 minutes to get our drinks, and 45 minutes later to get our meals that were cold.) You don't find service like this anymore and the food was amazing

Cute place, clean, friendly but too damn crowded. Bacon was overdone, omelet was ok, wait time was good, portions good, potatoes were stale, way too expensive. I know it’s Lebo but damn. Hated that the kids meals had no sides, 2 pieces of bacon was $6. 2 kids and me, all drinking water… $60 breakfast. Prob won’t go back

Our waitress was friendly and had a lovely personality to brighten our morning! The food was absolutely divine. From my table, I could see staff members freshly squeezing oranges to make their juice, which was delicious and highly recommended. The omelet I had was well prepared and paired well with the home fries. I really enjoyed the sourdough bread option for toast! My boyfriend and I also split a blueberry pancake and me oh my it made me fall in love with blueberry pancakes! The cake itself was fluffy and the powdered sugar on top wasn’t overpowering. It was just the right amount of sugar.

The food is excellent and the service is friendly. Their pancakes are HUGE (plate-sized) and delicious. They even have a few tables out on the sidewalk where a couple of a small group can eat.
David B — Google review
The Apple Cinnamon French toast was decent, and the potatoes were just average. The bacon was nicely cooked and the fresh squeezed OJ was delicious - I got 3 cups! The service was friendly. It’s a small place, so they can get a bit cramped on weekends. The coffee was standard breakfast coffee, nothing too noteworthy. Overall, 4/5 for this place because nothing was bad about it, the OJ and bacon were delicious. The rest was average. Likely won’t return because there are some better places to get breakfast around.
Rebecca K — Google review
The good: Great location and food arrived quickly. The bad: Pancakes were cold and required a steak knife to cut them, butter was cold and hard, syrup was cold and ketchup bottles were old, refilled and filthy. Biscuit was cold and very below average in flavor and dry as could be. Scrambled eggs and sausage were overcooked. You will smell like a deep fryer when you leave here. Service was fine but ultimately understaffed. Very underwhelming experience. Plenty of other good breakfast spots, don’t waste your time.
Cody M — Google review
We've been meaning to try this place for many moons now, but somehow always thought of it at night - and since they are a breakfast and lunch place - that did not work out. Then, COVID hit. Finally, we managed to find a weekend morning and got to try it out. We are glad we did! We were there early on a Saturday morning, so decided to go for items from the breakfast menu. Looking over the brunch menu, there were many items that appealed to us there as well, but, well, breakfast called our name. The place was mostly empty and we were sat down immediately and offered coffee while we perused the menu. All the standard breakfast offerings are available, and there are some more unique items as well. We decided to try a Veggie Omelet as a "standard" item, but also the Salmon Scramble, as a more unique item. The wait for the food was not excessive. When it was delivered, we dove into it and were very happy with the presentation and the flavors. The dill aioli on the Salmon was superb! The Veggie Omelet had large chunks of vegetables (If I wanted to nit-pick, they were maybe a tad too large?) and the accompanying home fries and toast were great. We tried their wheat toast since we like those kinds of bread and this was an eight grain version which we really enjoyed. Rounding out the meal was a side of bacon which was prepared exactly as I like it! Definitely worth the visit and quite above any of the chains that serve breakfast in town!

The diner is famous for its specialty crêpe-hotcakes and American favorites.
Finding a good stack of pancakes when I’m traveling is the test of a great brunch culture and Pamela’s is the best. These somewhat Swedish style (a little thicker than crepe like) are inspiring. I tell everyone who’s visiting to go and it’s now tradition when I’m in town to make a visit. The potatoes are classic and the eggs are delicious. 10/10

I stopped by Pamela’s Diner while in Pittsburgh and really enjoyed it. The place has a cozy, old-school vibe, and the staff made me feel right at home. I tried their famous crepe-style pancakes, and they definitely lived up to the hype—light, crispy on the edges, and really tasty. The portions were generous without being over the top, and the coffee kept coming. It felt like a laid-back spot where you could easily spend a slow morning.

While visiting Pittsburgh with my dad and my husband, the three of us made our way to P&G’s Pamela’s diner for breakfast one morning. We managed to find a parking spot right out front. There was no wait for our table and the service was extremely fast and friendly. I decided to order the “morning after breakfast” while my dad ordered the corn beef hash, and my husband ordered the Pittsburgh hash. The portions are large and you definitely leave full. There really is nothing fancy about the food, but it’s just good old-fashioned comfort diner food. They have several locations, but this one was quite spacious and like I said, we were in and out in a flash.

Staff here are so friendly and helpful. Food is amazing - our first try of local breakfast has certainly set us up for day! Great breakfast spot. Luckily the wait for 3 was about 20 min. I would expect a longer wait. I feel we got lucky on our timing. Food and service were great. The pancakes were delicious!! First time ever eating here and loved the experience! We got the Steel City Breakfast of Champs, the Eggs Benedict, and the Apple Cinnamon Crepe (see image). NOTE: They only accept cash!! The food was served fast, the quality was fantastic, and for the amount of food we got, the price was extremely fair. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll love the Crepes, Waffles, and Pancakes they have. But if you don't, they have plenty of traditional breakfast foods as well! My first time here. Not a disappointment! Our waitress was fantastic even though she proclaimed to be "the meanest waitress ever"far from it. She was a joy and seemed to love what she does. All of the staff seemed to be happy there. Very refreshing. The food was fabulous! We will be back!

First time eating here and had a great experience. Our server was friendly and explained things thoroughly. She even gave us her honest opinion of foods and even offered to replace it if it was as bad as she mentioned. I ordered the country friend chicken that came with biscuits, gravy, home fries, and eggs. I appreciated her honesty when she said she thought the biscuits were horribly crumbly. She offered to give me something else if I thought they were bad once I ate them. Honestly, I've baked worse biscuits. 😂 These were a bit dry, but that's where the gravy helped. Rest of the food was good. Overall, I really enjoyed my food and experience.

Fantastic service and delicious diner food in a very nostalgic diner setting. We also tried the root beer float which was perfect. The cheesy eggs were very good. I thought the French toast was ok - it was thick slices of toast - cooked well just not something I would get again. Overall great experience.

DoorDash Order: Overall experience wasn’t too bad. I would have liked to see more meat on the Reuben. There was a little more sauerkraut than meat. I also would’ve liked to see a whole pickle instead of sliced pickles. And the option to have mustard or a side of thousand island would’ve been nice to. I ordered cheese with my potatoes, but It was missing. I also ordered the oatmeal apple Cinnamon, Banana walnut short. The taste was OK I would’ve preferred to have a side of sauce or syrup. I will try again, but I would probably try something different

We’ve been going to this little spot for over 10 years. One of our favorite places to take out of town guests. This time was embarrassing as we hyped up everything about this spot and couldn’t be more disappointed in everything about our experience. I know all Good tings must come to an end but I’m sure hoping this was a fluke situation. However, zero wait n Sunday morning tells me it could be a sign of the times!! Food was dry. Server was not able to properly handle the work load. Had to repeatedly ask for items ordered. Drinks to be included. Ughhh. We definitely were embarrassed to bring our friends to this spot.

It breaks my heart to have to write a review for the Dor-Stop that’s below a 5 star review. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and have always loved the servers, food, and atmosphere. Sadly the wait times for food are absolutely unfair to the customers and the servers. I can only accredit the absolutely insane wait times (45+ minutes for two people) to the back log of DoorDash orders that come in. Not only does this make it super frustrating for the customers waiting for their food but also the servers who are amazing and unable to turn tables over to make money for themselves. This is my second time coming to the Dor-Stop in the last month and I’m so disappointed that DoorDash orders have taken priority over the in house customers and the servers.

My daughter and I stopped in for brunch. I had the raspberry French toast (amazing) with bacon. The bacon strips were super thin, but crispy. My daughter had the kids breakfast and she devoured the scrambled eggs. It came with pancakes, which she didn't care for, and a generous cup of berries. I did try the pancake, and it was bland. The coffee was good. The service was excellent!

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Shadyside, Cafe Moulin is a delightful rustic-modern French café that invites you to indulge in a culinary journey. Café Moulin is a rustic-meets-modern French café nestled in Shadyside, offering a cozy yet vibrant spot for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Their menu features a delicious variety of sweet and savory crêpes, French toast, salads, egg platters, and espresso drinks. During my visit, I had a beautifully crafted latte with the sweetest heart-shaped latte art—it was almost too pretty to drink! I ordered The Sofia from their egg platter section, which featured a Turkish sausage omelet topped with sautéed vegetables and rich hollandaise sauce, accompanied by a side of fresh fruit. It was fresh, decadent, and absolutely delightful. But the real showstopper was their Dubai Chocolate sweet crêpe. This indulgent treat combined pistachio cream, shredded filo dough, a generous drizzle of chocolate, and a side of non-dairy whipped cream. One bite and I was hooked—it was incredibly rich, flavorful, and impossible to put down. The space itself is quaint and charming, with both indoor and limited outdoor seating. Art decorates the walls, adding to the café's welcoming ambiance. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful when it came to navigating the tempting menu—it’s tough not to want one of everything! If you're in Shadyside and looking for authentic food and exceptional service in a warm, inviting atmosphere, Café Moulin is a must-visit.

Stopped by for a late weekend lunch -- they were really busy, even around 1:30 or 2, but fortunately our group of 5 only had to wait around 15 minutes to get seated. The place is pretty spacious with a decent amount of seating, but is apparently quite popular so I hear there's always a queue at peak times. Everything we ordered was so delicious. The french toast was fluffy and sweet without being too heavy. The crepes we got (Bristol, super belgium, Ottawa egg platter) were both super yummy. Turkey meat in the Bristol crepe was juicy and so flavourful, and the brie in the Ottawa one was just such a wonderful complement to the eggy omelette. All the fruits (blueberries, strawberries, bananas), either on the crepes or in the side order, were so fresh. Service was a bit slow (understandable due to how busy it was) but otherwise friendly and helpful. Price point was great for everything we ordered. I'd love to come back in the future :)

Very nice spot for breakfast or brunch. Everything seems to be super fresh and the food is just classy in a way. Good mix of sweet and savory options. I got to try their Barcelona French toast. This is one example of their great balance between sweet and savory. It has the sweetness from the berries and sweet preserve like sauce, but savory flavor from the cheese. To me, it seemed like it skewed toward having too much cheese. The interior cheese tasted a lot like butter, very fatty and soft. I'm not the biggest fan of butter so it wasn't my favorite, but it was obviously well made and the portion was pretty decent. All in all, I do recommend this spot, as the menu is quite diverse and the food is obviously high quality.

Delicious! We went for savory but they have quite a selection of sweet crepes as well. Highly recommend the Sofia crepe and Chai latte! I hadn’t been here in quite a few years and now they’re upstairs in a very bright and airy space that has cool art on the walls. Great attentive service too without being intrusive. Definitely will be back, more crepes to try!

I was looking for a breakfast that could wow me and this did it. The crepes were incredible and the velvety chocolate mixed with smooth cookie butter has had me drooling about it ever since. The Shakshouka dish was perfectly spiced and flavored. Each bite had perfect portions of egg and the pita served with it only enhanced the dishes greatness. I can’t wait to go back.

The Dubai chocolate crepe and chai tea latte were really good. The cheesecake crepe had too much chocolate on it. The Sophia was meh. Parking is ok but you have to pay for it. Overall location was cool too. It was really busy. Their water tastes like tap water. The staff is super super nice and seemingly accommodating. The vibes are pretty decent, even for being really busy. Prices are what you expect for the area. Everything was good enough for me to give 25% tip.

Eleven is a chic and sophisticated restaurant offering modern American cuisine and cocktails in a stylish setting. Housed in a renovated warehouse on the outskirts of the Strip District, the restaurant seamlessly blends industrial elements with elegant decor. The establishment boasts an impressive wine collection displayed in a temperature-controlled wall. The knowledgeable staff can recommend pairings for dishes such as artisanal cheese plates, swordfish over black rice risotto, and beef tenderloin with bone marrow-truffle jus.
Even though I was thirty minutes early I was still greeted respectfully. We had a private room and our server, Nathan, was superb! Very knowledgeable and showed his experience. He have me history on the menu and the cucumber mule was refreshing. Stevie came to help and was a huge asset. The meats and dessert was the best. I like the flow of the course. The food did take some time to be served, but it was around 16 people. Didn't start serving at 5 pm, but the courses didn't come out rushed. You had time to savor each dish. Very upscale, dark setting. The two story building help the natural light shine through. Upstairs bathroom art took me by surprise, but it's art. Definitely will come back next time I'm in the city.

Food was very, very good. Had the beef tenderloin, strip steak, and pasta and it was all excellent! Great wine choices too. Server was very good, brought us a special graduation dessert. I'm knocking on star off because our table was very dark, made it hard to even read the menus. But overall, great experience, would definitely go again.

I firstly want to start off by saying- Our server Bobby was such a delight! He was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The whole staff seemed well coordinated and friendly/welcoming. The atmosphere is dim lit with great music choice. The food was delicious! Easily accommodated 4 people. I will be back. Once again, thank you to our server Bobby.

Unable to get reservations days in advance, instead we arrived early (5PM) and were easily able to get a nice table for six. While a smaller restaurant it was a popular spot so not quiet but conversation was still easy. Plenty of staff and very attentive to our needs. Food all looked wonderful. Started with some nice oysters on the half shell, cold and tasty - I found the hot sauce very hot, be careful ! My short rib was fantastic and the sides complemented the main. I’m not crazy about squash but the purée was spectacular ! Nice dessert menu but most of us went for the Eleven Grand Bar , the obvious choice for those who like chocolate. Highly recommended.

Where to start? From the moment we walked through the doors and before we were welcomed with such an unbelievably friendly staff, from the valets, the hostess, servers and everyone in between. (The valets were exceptionally accommodating) The food was excellent! I had the seafood sampler and my husband had the swordfish. The desserts… The presentation was impressive to say the least. But tasted even better. The attention to detail, compliments to the pastry chef! The atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely return and recommend.

We had dinner here on 10/08/2025, we felt welcomed from the time we walked in the door. We had a glass of wine waiting for our table, it was happy hour. Prices were what you would expect for fine dining. Makayla our server was fabulous she took very good care of us, I ask for suggestions and she was spot on. She was very friendly and was there literally 10 seconds before we needed her. Food was amazing

The food and service is excellent! My go to place for personal and work engagements. The dishes are creative and top notch. Happy hour deals from 4 to 6 are an amazing value!

It's a beautiful property with incredible wine, dishes, and a comfortable atmosphere. Our server rushed us through the experience which was disappointing, but otherwise, we'll be worth the vist! Enjoy.

Cocktail bar
Paris 66 Bistro is a cozy Parisian-style restaurant in Pittsburgh, offering a warm and authentic French dining experience. As the first French restaurant in the city, it has become renowned for its everyday French cuisine, delightful macarons, and delectable desserts. The menu features an array of tempting dishes such as tuna salad, nicoise, Italian sandwich, steak frites, salmon tartare, beef bourguignon, savory crepes, and more.
We had a lovely experience at Paris 66! Had my fiancés birthday dinner here and everything was perfect. It’s super charming inside and really makes you feel you are tucked in a small cafe in France! The food is incredible! We had the crab salad, Kobe beef, asparagus, and truffle fries! Everything was cooked to perfection and so tasty! The crème brulle was delicious and they did a little sparkler on a macron for her bday, which was very appreciated. Our server Adian was phenomenal! Professional, great understanding of the menu, attentive, and overall just a really nice guy. We enjoyed our convos with him and sincerely appreciated his attention to detail! 10/10, we will most certainly return! They do have a parking garage right next to the restaurant if there is no street parking available! Also, make sure to look at the menu. This is an experience not an Applebees. Don’t be like the guy next to us complaining about price and portion size the entirety of dinner. It’s 100% worth the money for what you get and the service you receive!

One of my favorite French place, we were here for Mother’s Day brunch. Food was good as usual, but 3 course menu was overpriced imo. We’ve been here during regular hours and know the price pretty well.

Some of the best food I have EVER had. Don't spend high dollar on food much because I'm worried it won't be worth it but this place is 100% worth it. Our server was Aidan who provided us with exceptional service and was so helpful when navigating our first experience here. The atmosphere is so cool and very comfortable, I really loved all the decoration and the French music they played this is exactly the place I hoped it would be. I can not recommend the tri tip steak ENOUGH, the flavor is sooooo good and it's so flavorful I couldn't believe it. This is definitely the place to go for higher end dining in the burgh. The creme brulee is a MUST!

My wife and I had a superlative brunch today at Paris 66. Our authentic French dining experience was shaped and enhanced by our waiter Moshe, fluent in French, proud of Pittsburgh, full of good humor and panache. We vacationed in Paris last year and had many memorable meals there...Today's brunch brought us right back. I don't usually eat eggs or dairy but made a happy exception today, the patisserie and (savory) crepes were excellent. Next time we visit Pittsburgh, we'll make a beeline for Paris 66 and dinner. À bientôt!

The owner should try visiting Paris — a Denny’s-quality grilled cheese and a croque monsieur are not the same thing. What’s served here is a sad imitation of French cuisine at premium prices. My croque monsieur was greasy, flavorless, and completely lacking any real technique or care. The service was inattentive and rushed, and the entire experience felt more like a diner pretending to be French than an actual bistro. To make things worse, after sharing feedback, the owner messaged me directly in an incredibly strange and unprofessional way — calling me “my little boy.” It was uncomfortable and inappropriate, and honestly more revealing than anything that came out of the kitchen. I’m married, and if I wasn’t, I’d want someone who can cook — because what’s coming out of this kitchen sure isn’t it. If you’re after real French food or basic professionalism, go somewhere else.

Pittsburgh friends turned us on to Paris 66 Bistro while visiting, and the four of us went for dinner. And it's a gem. The food was excellent. There were accommodations for my husband's gluten allergy. There's something for nearly everyone, including vegetarian and gluten-free options or adaptations. (There will likely be off-menu specials, too.) We enjoyed a full dinner, appetizers, wine, and dessert. Meal prices align with better restaurants with items at various price points. We received full attention from our servers without it feeling overbearing. The atmosphere is lovely. We felt like we were in France and even got to practice a little French with the owner, who is French (though French isn't needed). There is a parking garage near, beside/behind the restaurant, and street parking. As a closing note, we're a gay couple who felt welcome. I highly recommend considering Paris 66 Bistro.

My boyfriend and I recently celebrated our 5 year anniversary at Paris 66 and we had the most wonderful, intimate experience. Our server, Nathan was very knowledgeable & a delight! We lucked out with having an almost private dining experience due to a later night reservation. The drinks were amazing & as was all of the food! We were treated with that special touch, noting our anniversary celebration - huge shout out to the owner’s for the sweet card, and Kir Royale on arrival - the perfect extra touch! We will definitely be back again soon - likely to try brunch!!

Nice vibes and food was good. They have heater lamps in the back which is a nice touch. However the portion here is small and price expensive. Came out to be about $70/person and not completely filling.

Nestled in the vibrant Market Square of downtown Pittsburgh, Cherries Diner is a charming throwback to classic American dining. This no-frills eatery specializes in hearty breakfast and lunch options that are sure to satisfy your cravings without breaking the bank. The menu boasts generous portions, featuring favorites like the Kitchen Sink omelet—a three-egg delight packed with peppers, onions, cheese, hash browns, and your choice of meat.
My bf & I enjoyed our food. They made my turkey bacon just right which seems impossible for everyone else to do lol. I like it very crispy & they made it perfectly. My breakfast potato's were good! I dont have any complaints. I tried to go back the next day (on a Sunday) but they were closed 🥲

Awesome diner. I’m not sure why so many mixed or negative reviews exist for this spot. I got to try their very cherry French toast. It was really, really good. Unlike most other places, they don’t skimp on the fruit toppings. Loads of cherries, very sweet (almost excessively so but I still really enjoyed it). And the French toast itself was also really well made. Excellent portion, looked almost like a French toast sandwich. Super great prices for this portion. All in all, I would highly recommend this spot for a tasty and cheap breakfast or brunch in the Pittsburgh area.

Tasty, no frills diner. I give it 3 stars because it had very little meat on the club. Only 2 slices as far as I could tell. Bread and toppings were tasty and fresh!

Ham and cheese omelet was great but grilled cheese sandwich was close to terrible. Nice staff and fast service. I’d come back since location is good and prices are fair and some options are really good but it really depends on what you are ordering.

Eggs & Moore is a cozy and popular diner located in Mount Washington, offering a wide selection of freshly made breakfast options that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The family-run spot prides itself on its comfortable and attractive setting, serving up delicious three-egg omelets with various fillings to cater to both vegetarians and carnivores. Despite its small size, the diner's popularity ensures a line out the door, but the fast-moving crowd makes it worth the wait.
We had breakfast here today. It was delicious. I had the yinzer! It was so good. My daughter had the cherry almond waffle and she loved it. Mia is the best!! We were comfortable and it was clean.

In short: this is the platonic ideal of a breakfast diner, though do be aware of the busy times. In long: I dined here on two separate days. The portions are generous, the staff friendly, and the food is delicious. I can wholeheartedly say that the waffles are top-tier (be sure to ask about their specials) and their scramblers are excellent. It's hard to beat the atmosphere too, as the pictures in other reviews show. Be aware: This place is cash only, but there is an ATM nearby. Also, the church crowd starts arriving after 10 am on Sundays, so be sure to come early if you want to beat the crowds. But still, definitely worth a visit.

My boyfriend and I stumbled onto this little hidden gem while visiting from out of town, and wow—what a find! We were seated right away and greeted by the sweetest mother-daughter waitressing duo, Ireland and Tiffany. Since we’re not local, we love asking for recommendations, and theirs did not disappoint. We tried the Mexican Scrambler, the Yinzer Scrambler, and a Banana Foster Waffle to share. Every dish was delicious, but that waffle… absolutely unforgettable. Tiffany gave us a little history of the restaurant, sharing how it all started with her sister’s dream. She also told us her dad makes the best waffles you’ll ever eat—and she wasn’t kidding. The Banana Foster Waffle literally melted in our mouths. I’m still thinking about it two days later! This spot is nearly two hours from our home, but we’re already planning a return trip so we can bring our child back to experience it. The food, the hospitality, and the heart behind this place made our visit truly memorable. Thank you, Ireland and Tiffany, for the wonderful service, and to the whole family for creating such a warm, welcoming restaurant. We can’t wait to come back!

We were staying with the family in Mount Washington and decided to give Eggs & Moore a try and it did not disappoint. We all ordered different breakfast items and all of us went away happy. My only note is that the place is small and demand is high. So, either get there early or be prepared to wait for a table.

Eggs and Moore on the Mount is eggs-actly what I want from a PGH diner. The prices are reasonable and the staff is awesome. It's always fun to sit at the counter and talk to all of the local yinzers that dine daily. My goto is the Moore Burger; it's the best "Meatloaf" sandwich I've ever had.

I can't think of enough good things to say about Eggs & Moore! What a wonderful place. We are on vacation and staying nearby. We have now had 3 meals here in less than a week! We love it. Busy little place. Stood in line a long time....thinking we were waiting to be seated. No! The people in front of us did not really know. So, i stepped up. Made an introduction and asked if we could be seated? I was promptly told, " Come on in and seat yourself!" I turned around and looked back at the line and motioned for my lovely wife to come forward. She looked bewildered, and i walked on and got the pick of multiple tables for two. Sat down, and she happily joined me as did the people who were in front of us. There are lots of nick-knacks on the walls and open-air seating in the back that you really can not see from the front. Got the drinks quickly, but the main brunch meal took a long time to get to our table. Despite the length of time, the omelet was hot, tasted good, and ate it with a small slice of a weird rye bread that was only toasted/grilled on one side. Tasty! Grandma's 🥞 pancakes, 4 total, were more like a desert and NOT really lite and fluffy. Ate some of that and got it to go. Nice little place......and it was open on Labor Day 2024, so 👌.

A Morning Surprise at Caffe Mona La Bistro On a Wednesday morn, with my heart in a whirl, At the children’s hospital with my sweet baby girl— The weight of the world pressed quiet and deep, Till I found a small café that made my soul leap. Caffe Mona, a treasure tucked sweetly away, A haven of comfort to brighten my day. I wandered inside, drawn by scents in the air, Not knowing that glory awaited me there. The “Elvis” they said—French toast like a dream, Two croissants so golden, like stars in whipped cream. Egg-battered beauties, cooked to delight, A breakfast creation that set my soul right. Peanut butter and bacon in perfect embrace, Bananas and syrup danced all over the place. With powdered sugar, a heavenly snow, And maple that whispered, “Just let yourself go.” Each bite was a blessing, a rich symphony, Of sweet and of savory, pure harmony. I sat in that moment, no worries, no care— Just buttery joy and love in the air. To the staff and the chef, my heartfelt salute, For turning my day from heavy to sweet fruit. Caffe Mona, you’re more than a meal— You’re a memory, a comfort, a place that can heal.

I had a delightful and delicious brunch here. The service is exceptionally fast, the food arrived within minutes of my order, and my order was taken almost immediately upon sitting down. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, filled with off the wall and on the wall art, the staff is delightful, and because this is kind of a neighborhood restaurant, you'll meet all sorts of interesting people. Gab & Eat GOOD: Wonderful local, Carnegie business. A fun diner vibe with amazing breakfast, vibrant staff and fair prices BAD: Nothing much, they close early (230ish) and pot coffee is on the expense side (2.99) But they do grind their beans and I enjoyed a cup to go. Gab & Eat is right up my alley. I love diners, especially quirky places with top notch breakfast. Gab & Eat is all that and more. The staff clearly enjoys their jobs and the locals. If you sit at the counter you get to watch the skilled cooking action. As a Carnegie visitor, I went 2x - a tell right there. Day one was a great omelet, day 2 a superb bagel sandwich. My servers were great and friendly. If you're in the neighborhood, starting your day here is a wise move.

Breakfast restaurant
Caffé Mona in the Strip District is a charming bistro that blends American and French culinary influences. The cafe, which has been serving for nearly a decade, is renowned for its vibrant patio adorned with colorful umbrellas, making it an ideal spot for a picturesque breakfast. Specializing in delectable savory, gourmet, and sweet crepes, Caffé Mona offers a diverse menu to cater to various tastes.
TLDR; Go here, right now, today, you won't regret it. This is an excellent and often overlooked restaurant in the Strip. I first came in because I saw they have Turkish Coffee. I love Turkish Coffee, it really brings out the flavors of the beans without the bitter and acid flavors of western coffees. They use good beans so the coffee is good, if you were to make it for yourself you'd select a bean for your preference.....I'm not really a coffee snob, I swear... Anyways, the food! The food is absolutely delicous. I have been here 5 times and had something different each time. If I had to choose my least favorite it would be the burger, it is a good burger, but compared to the OTHER food......the food is so good. The Brentwood Bagel, the Club, the Pesto Chicken Sandwich, the Pancakes, the French Toasted Croissant stuffed with strawberries and topped with Biscoff cream.....all so amazing. Every time I come here is a treat. The staff is great too, very friendly, especially to regulars. I have been introducing my coworkers to the cafe and they have been so welcoming. The atmosphere is calm and chill. A very pleasant and relaxing place. The service is very fast. Due to the "hidden gem" nature of the place it is never overwhelmingly busy, which is cool for fast service, but sad becuse this place deserves to be better known. There's a line out the door at Primanti's....PRIMANTI'S! It may be iconic but it is not worth that wait, yet you have this place with some amazing and downright decadently delicious food whose lunch rush is 4 tables. Get in here people!

The food was absolutely delicious! I wish there were more drink options but I really cant complain for what they do have. Im a sucker for french toast and theirs is delicious. My soster got a crepe that she enjoyed. The prices are good too. The inside is smaller and we were a little confused waiting for a table for a bit if they noticed us or nor. So beware of that potential issue youd endure The inside decor is cute though. I love the umbrellas and the Pittsburgh mural. It was a good spot to try, i would return after a while.

Amazing little spot in the strip. The coffee (my wife and I both got Lattes) was amazing. Prefect temperature and served in a nice size coffee bowl. My wife ordered the banana crepe with fruit and Nutella. Just the right amount of sweet. I ordered the buffalo chicken crepe with the balsamic side salad. Perfect amount of heat, real grilled chicken inside, and the onions were caramelized perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will be back here the next time we're in town.

A lovely little hole-in-the-wall diner in the strip district! The decor is adorable but the lighting is pretty dim. We barely had to wait before getting a table on a Saturday afternoon. The drink selection is kind of limited, but they have a lot of food options. The bagel sandwich was flavorful, and the veggie omelet was excellent. The crepe with berries and goat cheese was delicious, although it was the smallest portion of the three and probably should have cost less for the size. Our server seemed a little impatient, although it was less than an hour from closing and way too hot out, so I dont hold it against anyone. I would recommend this place if you're looking for brunch food and a quiet spot with friends.

I was visiting Pittsburgh and looking for a diner for my friends and i to eat at in the late morning. This place was not the first to pop up on the list and not our first stop but after seeing the first three diners had crazy lines we came here. It seemed very strange to us that this place had no line and very few customers inside. This seemed even crazier after we were seated since we were attended to fast and the food came out even faster. The food was also very well priced for how large the portions are and how yummy they were. I will definitely be stopping by again the next time I’m in Pittsburgh!

Waited nearly an hour for our food to come out, and once we had it, it was way too salty. Ordered the tomahawk for two and French fries. The French fries were very thin and crunchy which I love. Caesar salad was decent.

We were told that Meat and Potatoes do things a little bit differently. Service is impeccable. We made reservations, but chose to sit at the bar so we could sit next to each other. The main reason we had chosen Meat and Potatoes was because they have Carpaccio on the their menu. While not particularly impressed with the Carpaccio, the beef was a little tough to cut. It was delicious, and completely different as we were told. I had asked some questions about the menu, and which was ordered more, the pork chop or the steak. The immediate answer was the porkchop, so game on. Let me just say, the size of the porkchop was pretty much equal to what the waitress bring s Fred Flintstone and tips the car over! I felt like a siren, bells and whistles would go off if I finished it, or got a T-shirt. It was massive, and equally as delicious! It came with some beans and spicy collard greens. Called last minute and asked for any vans told they were booked on a Saturday night. While out walking around the area we happened to walk by and decided to ask. Luckily for us they had a spot for three at the bar! Our lucky night! The food and staff were topnotch especially the bar staff. It took a few minutes to order a drink but after that it was fantastic. The drinks were well made. Only complaint was they used regular ice for old fashions. They should have specialty ice for such a great spot. Had the bone marrow which was delicious. If you have tried bone marrow definitely give it a try. Their New York was prepared definitely then what was on the menu, kind of a special, and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. My fiancée had the flank and fries and they were both delicious as well. Oh I can’t forget about the Cesar salad, one of the best I have had. I am a huge Cesar fan! I add the anchovies and it was perfect. We had the chocolate desert and it was delicious like everything else. Highly recommend Meet & Potatoes.

It’s our second time having beef Wellington here! Both times the Wellington itself is amazing! This time however the potatoes were very disappointing. We pointed it out to the waiter who brought us mashed potatoes as a replacement.

Service was great! Unfortunately, the food was not. Pretty limited menu. Wagu was good. Pub burger ok. Rigatoni and Mac and cheese tasted like they were made from a box. Very disappointing. Drinks were good, except the tonic was flat.

The vegan meatloaf was otherworldly delicious. My meat eating friend tried it and said it was better than any real meatloaf they’ve ever had! Great service. The mocktails were excellent as well. Great vibe. I’ll be back for the vegan meatloaf!

Braddock's Rebellion is a delightful dining experience nestled within the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, where history and culinary creativity intertwine. This vibrant venue offers an eclectic menu filled with globally-inspired comfort food favorites, alongside handcrafted cocktails that pay homage to the Whiskey Rebellion. Bourbon enthusiasts will find their haven here, with signature drinks like the Braddocks Smash and The Chief showcasing the rich flavors of this beloved spirit.
Great place to grab a cocktail and bite to eat without having to leave your hotel if you’re staying at the Renaissance Pittsburgh. I’m not a vegetarian but the harvest beet and black bean burger is an excellent choice. Pair it with a Brooklyn, a spicy/sweet cocktail with a nice little kick.

Not bad, but a little disappointed for the money. I’m nitpicking for sure. We were staying in the hotel and this looked nice. First off, the lobby is beautiful and our service was fantastic. The French onion soup was very good. The scallops had a very earthy smell. They were cooked well, I wish you got more than 4 considering the price. I found the risotto to be a little too al dente and a bit salty. In hindsight I would have ordered something else. The filet was cooked as ordered. It was a good cut, a little more chew than some others and she wished there was a sauce. Berry cobbler for dessert was nice especially with the ice cream. A good shareable for sure. All in all we enjoyed the dinner however we have had better meals at the same price.
B A — Google review
A surprisingly intimate set up, considering the current configuration is in the hotel lobby due to construction. Still very quiet and friendly, and the ambiance is very old world grandeur with a modern vibe. Nothing quite like it. The service was the very best of Pittsburgh earthy kindness, sweetly accommodating and no-nonsense. Exceptional food and drink, which is not unusual in the Cultural District. Inventive recipes, well-seasoned, and well-thought-out. Bonus: a nice heavy pour on the lemon drops. Highly recommend the baked cookie and ice cream, and the filet. Highly recommend a visit, especially if you love bourbon. Have a mini photo shoot at the grand staircase while you're there!

This place is an understated gem in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Good food, outstanding atmosphere. Tables out on the sidewalk for your al-fresco dine and/or drinks. A must visit. Prices are less than you’d expect being “in” the Renaissance hotel. This is a blue collar city. It has a living, breathing soul. Stop by for a pint or two…you won’t regret it.

Best breakfast in the area in my opinion! Great prices considering it’s in a hotel. Very friendly waitstaff and the food was so good, the ☕️ was so bomb with the breakfast! 🤙🏽

Mediocre. The menu - drink and food - had a lot of promise, but the service was incredibly slow. The food we ordered had minor modifications that were not followed (substituting a vegetable and cooking a steak to medium rare - the steak came out rare and had to be sent back). The drinks were weak and oddly flavored for the ingredients used. It was just a meh experience. We wanted to try a new restaurant near Heinz Hall as we go there for shows frequently - I doubt we will be back. There are plenty of other, better options around.

City Works in Market Square is a contemporary pub known for its extensive craft beer list featuring over 90 local and global varieties. The restaurant offers classic American food with innovative chef-driven twists, creating an energetic and upbeat atmosphere. It's conveniently located in downtown Pittsburgh's picturesque central plaza, making it easily accessible by public transportation. One of the unique menu items that stands out is the duck Reuben, a twist on the traditional Reuben sandwich.
Our group of 20 dinned in on a Wednesday evening. It was easy for use to have conversation, staff were attentive and I was impressed with the range of food options that were all well prepared. All of the beers are on tap and they do have a great selection. Nice casual atmosphere, where the staff seemed happy. I did see to “private” room areas - one with three tables and another with one table able to seat 6 - 8.

Arrived near opening on a weekday. Within an hour it was packed with the corporate lunch crowd. Definitely popular with the locals. Our server Honesty was genuinely passionate that we also left in love with the place and assuredly we did. Loved the eclectic menu, the presentation of food and drinks, outstanding service, epic location in Market Square and the food was delicious. Perfect respite while walking Pittsburgh to thoroughly enjoy its people, local color, grand architecture and irreplaceable epic vibe!

They offer a large selection of craft beer from all over the world. The food was good, I had the fish and chips and the fish itself was meaty and moist but a little underseasoned, however the fries had a ton of flavor and when combined together it tasted delicious.

The Terrace Room is a historic and elegant dining venue located within the Omni William Penn Hotel. Dating back to 1916, this soaring dining room offers traditional American steaks and seafood. The interior boasts a combination of class and history, featuring original molded plaster ceilings, expansive mahogany arches, elegant chandeliers, and a magnificent back wall mural titled The Taking of Fort Pitt. The restaurant provides a unique culinary experience with dishes made from the freshest local ingredients for breakfast and dinner.
We visited The Terrace Room for the Sunday morning brunch buffet and we couldn't be more pleased! It was just a lovely morning. The food and service was incredible. The atmosphere is elegant. This was just a great place to celebrate and unwind during the holiday season. I highly recommend the chef's special eggs - a scrambled egg dish flavored with peppers and tomatoes. And a trip to the made-to-order omelette station is certainly a must! You can customize your order and watch it be prepared to your delight! Great experience! Will definitely visit again.

Let me start my review with our top star service. Robert was the best, he has waited on us before and never disappoints. Thank you Robert!!!! We used to love dining there. Our friends get us a 250 certificate there every Christmas. When we booked the reservation it did not say they were using the lobby menu!!!! 3 dinner items only. All of which I did not care for. No meat on the menu. We spent 260.00 and was very disappointed when we left. I told my husband to let our friends know to stop getting us this for Christmas!!! Sad what that beautiful room has turned in to.

This restaurant staff is at a all time low. Unfortunately they are so rude, unorganized with no sense of urgency. Staff has no idea what's going on in in the establishment. We went to get food here and was told to go the speakeasy cause it better suit us then was sent here cause that place had already done last call. Waited over an hour to get waited on. I observed a man with no shoes and vomit all over his hands and clothes whom managed to get in yet servers didn't notice. I was speaking to the MGR when I then noticed this walker man and the MGR said something. Place lacks situational awareness food was blahh, wasn't worth the wait hassle or even for me to the leave out my room. Atmosphere comes from the hotel sitting areas.

When I was staying at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, I got to experience a part of their historical part, their restaurant called the Terrace Room. This hotel screamed history from the moment I waked in, which was awesome. There were plenty of seating, and the architecture was really amazing, They have original molded plaster ceiling with mahogany arches. Beautiful chandeliers and elegant atmosphere. This restaurant was opened in 1916, and I got to peek into the history even just a little but by being in this space. The variety of the buffet was pretty nice, I was liking what I was seeing. They had eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and so much more. What I enjoyed the most was their smoked salmon. Very fresh and tasty! Unfortunately, I was not super hungry, so I didn’t get as much as I wanted to try. I did get some eggs, breakfast potatoes, smoked salmon, blueberry maple sausage patty, mini muffin and fresh fruits. They were all pretty tasty and I had no complaints. Their special sausage patty was juicy and packed with flavor, and smoked salmon was meaty and fresh. They were not amazing, but I was happy with their offerings. The server was very nice and friendly. Food was better than I expected, especially the selections. I wish if I was hungry enough to have more… Regardless, I had a nice breakfast here, surrounded by rich history. Read my full review of the restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

The bar food was excellent. the giant soft pretzel was the best thing on the table. unfortunately, the vegetables were sad piles of mush - fall spinach salad was a giant plate of spinach with several tiny slivers of apple. chef salad wasn't much better. Brussels sprouts were all out. sandwiches and fries good. you have to ask to use the restrooms if you're not a hotel guest. server kept forgetting items and couldn't keep the water full. overall an underwhelming experience, but it could have been worse

It is a nice building, but they are not fine dining. Service is attentive, if overly familiar. Many people seemed happy to be there. Not terrible, just not competitive with some of the restaurants we have in Pittsburgh.

The terrace room is located in the Omni Hotel at William Penn place in downtown Pittsburgh. This historic building is beautifully maintained, and when I walked into the lobby I was struck by how lovely it is. The restaurant is no less impressive then the lobby. The wait staff was polite, friendly and extremely attentive. I had the breakfast buffet which was excellent with a wide variety of items including a super friendly cook who will make your omelet to order all as part of the buffet. Very highly recommended.

Awesome experience! The group of of employees working during lunch, made me and my wife feel like we were part of their family. After finishing our lunch, really made me wonder, why such an excellent place had no waiting line? 5 stars if you ask me.
Manuel O — Google review
I legit don’t understand how this place has any good reviews based on the service and it’s entirely laughable they ask you make reservations when the restaurant is empty. I made reservations thinking this place would be packed, but instead there’s only three tables of couples and yet they are struggling to keep up. It took so long to be acknowledged I had started to research restaurants in the area and was about to leave when a waitress showed up. This is dinner on a Friday night in Pittsburgh and with an empty restaurant this is the service? Wow. And you can see straight back to the kitchen from the front of the restaurant. All the waiters and cooks are just hanging out in the kitchen laughing. The other two tables picked up on the bad service, immediately closed their tabs after one drink, and left quickly. It turned out our waitress had abruptly left with no notice. By the time someone else had arrived it had been another 15 minutes. She asked if we’d had our order taken, we said yes, and waited for the order. Another 15 minutes later, the new waitress made us aware the previous waitress had never submitted our order. We then ordered steak au poivre, salmon, and two drinks. The waitress pretended she didn’t hear me and tried to upsell me on the more expensive steak. I had to correct her. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out medium well-well done. The mashed potatoes lacked salt. My wife liked her salmon. The asparagus was done well. The drinks were too sweet. The bill came out to $87. Never an apology from the manager. Never a comped drink or meal. And, for us, never again.

I enjoy coming to Revel! It’s a cutesy spot in the Market Square area. Brianna was kind and bubbly server. The Summer Mule was a hit if you’re in need of a mocktail option! ☀️ I’ve had the Cobb Salad before and it was delicious as well.

First time I ate breakfast was fantastic. The vegetable frittata was very good piping hot! Charlie my server was very sweet and attentive, I was in there not long after opening on Sunday so not busy. Next AM I went before leaving town. Ordered waffles. After a wait, 3 tiny round waffles came on a plate with a side of syrup, no butter. For $15? Seriously ? They were only lukewarm. It wasn't busy in restaurant. Didn't think you had to ask for butter with a waffle! I decided not to eat them and went around the corner to Cherries Diner and had 2 huge belgian waffles at half the price. Didn’t get the name of the server, but she was very nice, said I didn't owe them but I wanted to pay for my coffee and tip her.

Overpriced, gross food . This corned beef sandwich should have meat in it for $20. It’s hard to mess up such a basic sandwich but they did. Save yourself some time and go around the corner to Primatis it’s half the cost and double the sandwich.

We stopped in here for a quick brunch before heading out to museums! The breakfast potatoes were awesome. The breakfast sandwich is a must have! We also got chicken and waffles and they weren't half bad! We really enjoyed our time here and service was quick! Highly recommend for breakfast / brunch!

Amazing meal! I was here on a business trip and decided to try this restaurant, which is adjacent to the downtown Hilton Garden Inn. I had the pierogies, Revel Salad and a crab cake. All were fresh and better than similar items I've had at super high end restaurants. The service was stellar as well. I wish I was here for another night. I might have to visit Pittsburgh again just to experience other dishes here.

DiAnoia's Eatery in the Strip District of Pittsburgh is a cozy Italian kitchen that offers a wide range of homemade pastas, Italian dishes, pastries, coffee, and cocktails. It's a popular spot among locals for its velvety cacio e pepe and other fresh flavors of Italy. The eatery serves house-made Italian pastries and espresso for breakfast and transforms into a deli during the day, offering hearty sandwiches like eggplant Parmesan and classic meatball.
Visited for lunch on a recommendation before the Heinz museum, which was perfect for a quick choice with counter service. The menu had a great selection, as did the bakery cases near the cashier. We were so impressed with how delicious and authentic all of the dishes, sandwiches, and desserts were. The pork sugo was definitely my favorite! Would absolutely come back here any time we find ourselves in Pittsburgh.

This was our second time eating here. The first time was an amazing first experience which left me wanting more and my husband and I were not let down. The half chicken plate was so juicy with crispy skin and the amazing flavor with potatoes marinated in the same seasoning. Oh my was it delicious. And the cherry on top was our server Caleb who was just so knowledgeable and attentive. He just made our experience here that much more memorable. Highly recommend!!

FINALLY got a table at the place everyone talks. Did it live up to the hype - I’m not so sure. The gnocchi were excellent and meatballs too. I found the options limited - not to say i want the typical Italian restaurant with the same old choices and too many options. Their sauce was very good. It was very noisy and crowded. Making it hard to hear any conversation at our table. The staff was friendly but never checked in to see how the food was or if we needed anything else. I thought the appetizer options were limited; we wanted side salads however they appeared to be priced as an entree salad which ruled out the decision. Again the gnocchi were the best ive had in a long time. Id probably rank them with quality of ravioli of a certain handmade pasta establishment in DC. I left wanting more.
Ed N — Google review
We decided to try this since it was so highly recommended. It didn’t disappoint. We had the roasted Cauliflower and meatballs appetizers. And shared the Pork Sugo pasta. All of it was delicious and the only thing I would say is the cauliflower could use a little more salt (but I like salt so just my preference). All in all a very solid choice for Italian food.
Joseph M — Google review
This was our 3rd time being here, but didn't have a pleasant experience. First, the whole restaurant was so noisy on weekday evening. This place was packed by putting more than 50 people in one room. People had to talk extremely loud even there's no music. I think this maybe the "eatery" vibe they pursue. Therefore , this is definitely not a place for a date. Second, we were there for the half chicken since we had very good impressions on last visits. Unfortunately, they changed the seasoning and the side. The chicken was over cooked, dry, and salty. The rapini was totally burnt and bitter. Thanks to our server, Mandi, she managed to order nonburnt broccoli after my feedback. Third, the meatballs always taste great except the bowl they used had chips around the rim. I hope they use better bowls to serve customers than chipped ones. The main reason I'm willing to go there again is the 1.5lb sirloin. Our family was surprised that the steak cooked beautifully. Hoping the steak will stay on the menu and the half chicken will get improved.

Visiting the city for a conference and heard good things. Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch and quickly realized reservations are highly recommended. No worries. A little wait and got to sit at the bar with a view of the action in back. Absolutely enjoyable experience. Friendly staff. Quick service. Amazing food. Highly recommend.

This dinner was so good! We tried to book reservations but they were booked-for a good reason too! (So book really early if you are coming to the area!) They do accept walk-ins (5 tables outside on sidewalk-we had about a 45 min wait). The gnocchi was the biggest gnocchi (see photo) I’ve ever had and it was delicious. The meatballs were gigantic and also great! Red blend of wine was delicious, bread was super soft and crispy on the edges! Would also recommend the Brussel sprouts! Service was great-servers were friendly and efficient.

Ritter's Diner is a cherished gem in Pittsburgh, serving up classic diner fare since 1951. This nostalgic eatery offers an extensive menu that caters to all cravings, featuring everything from fluffy omelettes and decadent French toast to hearty burgers and comforting meatloaf. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, Ritter's has become a late-night favorite among locals, providing delicious meals at affordable prices.
Ritter’s Diner is a classic spot that elevates the brunch scene in Pittsburgh. It’s one of my favorite places for brunch—the waitresses are wonderful, and I always look forward to the pumpkin pancakes every fall; they’re a must-try. Everything on the menu is consistently good. I’ve had their melt patty and tried several of their omelets for brunch, and both were excellent. They have their own parking lot, but keep in mind it’s cash only. The busiest time is around 12 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, but you can usually find seating at the bar if there’s a wait.

Food was ok. Service was good, waitress was very nice. Entire restaurant was very dirty. Food, utensils, wrappers on the floor. Restrooms are located behind a swing door and as soon as you open the door all you can smell is cigarette smoke. Restroom was falling apart and dirty. Heads up, they don’t accept cards for payment, they refer you to an ATM in the foyer.

Been here a couple of times. Went after a mid-June Sunday church service in a group of 5. The place was packed. We got lucky to find a round table in the rear. The front mostly has small tables and booths. The waitress was extremely friendly. I had the lamb gyro and it was absolutely perfect, the veggies in there, the tzatziki sauce, the way the lamb was sliced and cooked, everything was awesome. Took a while to get out food, but understandable given how busy they were. The place takes cash only. My friends had the omelettes, and liked it. I had a taste of the onion rings and they are pretty nice too. Serving size is pretty good. And total including tips and taxes for 5 people came to around 75$ which is cheap.

Very good food, very good service and very good vibe. I went there on Friday noon with a friend, the sitting and ordering was fast. I ordered a blueberry pancake with eggs and sausage, and coffee. My friend ordered a omelette and coffee. We also ordered a cheesecake in the end. The total was around 40 bucks without tips. Very satisfied for the first visit:). Def would go there again!

I have been to diners all over the country, and when I say this is quite possibly the worst I am not exaggerating. Upon arrival I used the restroom, there was feces on the toilet seat, graffiti all over the stalls, walls, and mirror. If that is their standard of hygiene it’s a huge concern. It took at least 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by someone from the waiting staff. No one in this place is attentive whatsoever. I ordered the steak and eggs specifying for my steak to be cooked medium rare and it came it out well done. The hash browns were some of the most bland I have ever tasted. When I asked for more coffee the waitress acted like she was doing me a favor. The place does not accept debit or credit cards. The year is 2025. Parking is also a nightmare. If you are traveling to Pittsburg, do yourself a favor and skip this place. Not worth it whatsoever.

I know this is a neighbor place, so I really wanted to give it the benefit.....but from an out of t.owner...I won't be back. Strawberry milkshake was more like strawberry milk. Fries were "ok". The only reason they got 3 stars was for the turkey, bacon melt

The only GREAT place to get HOMEMADE Cooking! 4 specials everyday, at great prices. Eggs are always fresh. You must try the stuffed pork chops on the weekends. Melt in your mouth pork. Best homefries in town is an option with every meal. CASH ONLY keeps costs down. And a great idea.

If this dump is what Pittsburgh calls “a good spot,” then the whole city needs to raise its standards immediately. I was in town visiting my son at UPitt, figured I’d grab breakfast, and ended up in a place that looks and smells like regret. The carpet alone should be condemned. It’s sticky, stained, and looks like it’s been absorbing disappointment for twenty years. The waitress? Looked like life chewed her up and spit her out right onto the morning shift. Zero effort, zero personality, zero care. She vanished after taking the order like she was running from her past. I literally had to go get another waitress just to refill a damn coffee. That’s how bad it was. We waited an hour — sixty full minutes — for a bacon, egg & cheese and two eggs with bacon. You could’ve raised the chicken and cured the bacon in that time. By the time the food came out, my appetite had given up and died of old age. And the bathroom? Absolute horror show. Damp, moldy, smelled like the floor drain was hiding a body. Whoever’s in charge of cleaning clearly called out six months ago and no one noticed. This place is a disgrace. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. If you’re hungry, do yourself a favor — hit Wendy’s, a gas station, or literally anywhere else. Pittsburgh, if this is the best you’ve got, it explains a lot.

Money can’t buy class (or taste). Classic Pittsburgh restaurant for those who desperately want to appear hip and spend money on a sad menu. I don’t know about you but I love spending $37 on plant based fettuccine and a marinara I could have bought at Trader Joe’s. The menu said it came with vegetarian meatballs and tofu, however I wasn't informed that I wouldn't get either, but I did get up charged $9 for a few oyster mushrooms *chefs kiss* Kudos to the waiter on that one. And thank you for the $26 glass of wine. Even thought the menu says $18, thank you for pulling the wool over our eyes on your $26 pour without telling us you cheeky thing. And why set the table with bread plates if you are going to give every table around us bread but not us? This was literally one of the worst dining experiences ever and the more I think about the more upset I become. As I said, if you want to try to be someone you’re not and fake it for the gram by all means waste your money here. But if you are an authentic human with taste, take your money elsewhere and actually enjoy your dining experience. ✌🏻

We had a great experience at brunch on Sunday at FL.2 inside the Fairmont Hotel. It is a beautiful restaurant with casually, elegant decor and lots of natural light. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the city from almost anywhere in the restaurant. Service was great and very professional. The food was really good too. I had the delicious breakfast sandwich with breakfast potatoes. It was very good. My mom had the ham and chive omelette which she really enjoyed. We started our meal with citrusy, boozy white wine sangria and we finished with perfectly brewed cups of coffee. I'd love to visit FL.2 again.

one of the fanciest restaurants with great ambience, service, foods and drinks. I had a reservation for 715pm, was seated immediately on arrival. Waiter was very kind and checked on us often. The food was very tantalizing, savory, mouth-watering…, name it all. I ordered the full chicken, roasted brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes and had the espresso martini. No regrets. Will be coming again and again to this place!!

I have just experienced what can only be described as a masterpiece of economic storytelling on a plate. I ordered the $23 Omelette, a dish I now understand is less of a menu item and more of a conceptual art piece on the theme of 'supply and demand.' The omelette itself was a shy, fleeting creature. It occupied a space on the plate roughly the size of a credit card (which is fitting, as you'll need one). It whispered of cheese and perhaps a chive, but its voice was quickly lost in the roaring crowd of its companion. That companion, of course, was the potatoes. A veritable mountain range of them. A sprawling, golden-brown empire that colonized the vast majority of the porcelain landscape. I'm fairly certain the chef's objective was to ensure I met my daily potassium quota for the entire week. They were fine, in the way a fire hydrant is a fine source of water—abundant and fundamentally adequate. After a thorough investigation, I've concluded the menu description was simply missing a word. It should have read: 'A Generous Portion of Potatoes, with Omelette.' For $23, it's an unforgettable lesson in how to value the cheapest ingredient.

We were on a trip to Pittsburgh with a family of 4. We really enjoyed the food here. The cheese plate, steak, onion soup, chicken and Mac and cheese all were high quality. Thank you

We went to fl.2 for breakfast and it was great. The atmosphere is very nice and modern, and the light from the windows, and view intro be kitchen is nice. I got the avocado toast, and my family ordered the American breakfast and the steel cut oats.

Modern American cuisine in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. The interior is very stylish and embraces the city. We loved the cocktails and the food was great. It's pretty update but totally worth it. The agnolotti were definitely freshly made, one could absolutely taste that. Dessert options were great but we had no room left. Will definitely come again.

Bakery
Cafe
Bluebird Kitchen is a popular downtown bakery and cafe that has been serving fresh, healthy sandwiches and salads since 2012. It's a favorite spot for the downtown office crowd, offering breakfast options like the local fried egg sandwich and lunch items such as the Croque Monsieur made with rosemary ham, emmentaler, and creamy bechamel. The cafe also bakes its own bread and rolls for their sandwiches.
I can’t say enough good things about bluebird kitchen. I love eating here for the creative, heathy food options. I don’t get that sluggish lunch feeling when I have a meal from Bluebird, I feel good after eating here. This place definitely helps me get all of my fruits and veggies in for the day and the food always so fresh and delicious. Great price for real food.

I’ve had my eye on this place for a while and heard great things. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and a strawberry chocolate muffin. My total was about $7.75. My muffin was amazing and the bagel had a nice flavor but the consistency was definitely more of a pretzel than anything. The quality or portions could align a bit better for the price. The customer service was great as well. Kate took really good care of me and answered all my questions. I arrived between lunch and breakfast, approximately at 10:30am so the menu was a bit limited. There were tasty looking premade salads, soups, parfait bowls and pastries available. Not to mention organic cold pressed juices. I’d definitely come back for that muffin and to try some other items. This is more of a grab and go rather than sit down and enjoy kind of dining experience.

Scone was not the greatest, had a strange after taste that wasn’t very pleasant, and the sugar on top was too much for me, but will come back to try their savory items again!

I do not typically leave reviews, but today’s experience was unacceptable. I have been coming to Bluebird for a few weeks now and had made it a regular stop. Unfortunately, there is a younger employee who consistently shows a lack of customer service skills. Today, he rushed me through my order, and then prepared my drink incorrectly. What was supposed to be a hot matcha latte was served lukewarm and poorly made. This is not the first time I have had a bad interaction with this young man, and it has become a recurring issue. Bluebird has some strong team members, and I have had positive experiences here in the past. However, if the goal is to provide reliable and consistent service like I used to receive, more attention needs to be given to staffing decisions. I cannot continue bringing my business here if this level of service continues.

Stopped by Bluebird Kitchen and unfortunately didn’t feel very welcomed. The lady at the counter seemed annoyed when I asked a few questions about the latte sizes and espresso shots, which I always like to clarify since every cafe is different. The coffee itself was okay, pretty average. The muffin and oats were underwhelming. I’d only come back if I really needed a quick stop, not because I enjoy the place.

Walked in to order a fresh salad. No one working in the cafe would make it, they handed me an undressed, un cut, pre made salad from the cooler. $12.95. After I took my salad out and found a table to sit, I realized the chicken wasn’t cut and had to walk back through downtown to ask them to cut the chicken. I was handed a plastic knife. “It’s the best I can do,” was the response. There was no one dining in at the time.

Got this sandwich from work and was excited they already had a vegan option. it didn’t come with the cheese, but i actually preferred that because i don’t love fake cheeses. The slaw was good and the buffalo falafel was pretty interesting. It’s nice to know there are more plant based options by my office. It seemed easy to order and everything was right on our bulk order for work colleagues which is always a plus. Yum!

Sandwich shop
Fast food restaurant
The Pub Chip Shop, located on Carson St., offers a cozy British dining experience with a variety of classic dishes such as fish 'n' chips, baps, pasties, and global eats. The hand-battered haddock is a standout item, served with crispy fries and tartar sauce. This fast-casual concept is reminiscent of a traditional British fry-up and pie shop.
I'm so happy I discovered this gem of a restaurant! I only ordered takeout and I'm looking forward to visiting the place in person. Everything I've ordered so far is perfect! I could live on their fish and chips, absolutely delicious, the best in town without a question. I have nothing negative or critical to say; if I could give them 10 stars, I would!

Lovely British themed restaurant in the southside. The young gentleman at the cash register was very friendly. We got the tikka pie and fish and chips. Both were tasty. I will be back!
TJY — Google review
Got takeout, the fish made me wish I was able to eat it there. Good flavor and the batter looked great but I think that extra 15 minutes in the car softened it a little but it was very good. I might be wrong but I think the chips were just freezer section chips but they seasoned them well. Scotch egg was good but another item I wish I could’ve eaten there. My wife got the I forget the name but it was like a chicken pot pie, she enjoyed it and said she’d get it again. The staff was friendly, seemed happy to feed you. I will have to stop back and grab a donut. Simple looking place on the inside, just a little takeout spot. Would love to see them be able to find a way to get some tables. Overall I would say it was more of a 4.8/5 and would definitely recommend trying this place.

Came in from out of town to try something different and this place was great. Good atmosphere, awesome employees. S/O to Carson on the front he was awesome and the lady with the gauges she was super nice and accommodating as well. Tried the bacon breakfast boxty with a spicy white sauce/gravy and an original glazed and seriously got my morning started. Definitely an awesome start for your day.

Delicious food. Thai chicken boxty tots are my go to over here. We have only gotten here early enough to have the donuts once and they were excellent. They just have a couple of seats so it’s basically a take out counter.

***update Nov2023 (8 months since last post) The food quality has gone steeply downhill🫤🫤🫤, hence a downgrade from 4 to 2 stars. As in my original post, THIS IS NOT A PUB. THERE IS NOTHING BRITISH ABOUT THIS PLACE. Pub implies beer, which is not served here. Fish and chips, and meat pies in the menu DO NOT MAKE THIS PLACE BRITISH. Whether British or American, this place is NEITHER a bar NOR a pub, NOT EVEN a cafe as is described in Maps. There’s hardly any place to sit and eat (only 6 seats available!) In our most recent visit and 3 other occasions before, the FISH BATTER IS OVERCOOKED, though still edible. The beer flavor is not as prominent as before 😡😡😡. The FRIES, yes French fries NOT CHIPS BY BRITISH STANDARD, ARE VERY BLAND TASTELESS. British chips are rough thicker cuts of potatoes, not the factory perfect slender cuts, and are pre-seasoned before frying. The SCOTCH EGG IS OVERCOOKED as is evident by the very dark rim of the yolk that is dry hard. Real Scotch Eggs has a soft yolk. 🥵🥵🥵My Brit companions wept. Meat pies, which were distinctive and attracted us to this place originally, seems to be very scarcely available. In the last visit, it very peculiar that they “have only one pie available” at opening time!!! Really??? —- that was the same excuse as the 3 earlier visits. The place seems more of a donut specialist now (Nov 2023). Of course donuts, again, are NOT BRITISH. So, is this a Donut Store or a Fish/Chips store. —— Lots of potential to be great take away store; BUT this is absolutely NOT a pub, and certainly NOT a British cafe. It’s principally an order counter with a 3-seat eating bench at the front of the store. Donuts (aka doughnuts in GB) are never a pub grub. A British cafe implies a variety of baked items: from biscuits (cookies in America) to scones, tea cakes, pastries, puddings, mince pies and meat pies. Breakfast sandwiches do NOT exist in the GB gustatory world. What this joint does very well are: 1) Fish and Chips, very flavorful well-seasoned fish and beer batter, and the chips (french fries in America) 😎😎😎 BUT please discard the tartar sauce, which is not Brit and dampens the flavor. Ask for malt vinegar. 2.Scotch egg is good: crispy exterior and cooked egg center. However, the egg core should have been soft, the yolk flowing instead of hard boiled. 3. Meat pies are the stars here🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. Thick meat filling, well cooked pastry coat. Anyone of them is great, but I am most partial to the Chicken Tikka pie, a Brit’s take on a classic Indian chicken curry dish tucked inside a flaky pastry crust. Then there’s the Mushy Peas, BUT it is a tad sweet and so very green, indicating use of horrible sweet peas variety and an artificial food coloring. Authentic Brit mushy peas has an earthy and hearty flavor with a grayish dull green (to brown) color consistent with natural real English peas. The staff are very amiable.

North Shore Tavern is an industrial-chic pub offering a variety of casual bar bites, including burgers and surf-n-turf options. The atmosphere is described as comfortable and open, with a good selection of craft cocktails and beer. Customers have praised the food, particularly the fillet and shrimp, Caesar salad, spicy potatoes, pretzels with dipping sauces, cheeseburger cooked to perfection, and steak or salmon served on a hot stone. The quick service has also been highlighted by patrons.
Highly recommend! This place is a 5-star in my book. I had the chicken wrap with fries, paired with cheese dip—absolutely delicious. Our table also enjoyed a Reuben sandwich, which was huge. I got to try a bite, and it was fantastic! Next time, I’ll definitely be ordering one for myself. Great food and good drinks—can’t wait to come back!

It was nice. Was told it was a 1 hour and 30 minute wait, only ended up being like 15. Ordered the Left field lemonade, it was rather good. Food was good too, ranch dressing/dip was delicious! Quite the experience cooking your own food on a hot stone. Location is great!

Atmosphere is sports bar all the way! The meat steaks and chops were tasty and tender Definitely worth a visit!! Literally across the streets from PNC park Pirates stadium Parking can be a problem!!!

Everything was amazing. The only suggestion would be having a low anxiety steak. Having to pay attention to its cooking period to keep it med rare is kind of stressful. But in a fun way. It's hard to explain, but I def recommend it. The meat pizza ...delicious, delmonico steak on stone...delicious, creme brulee... delicious

4.5 stars. My tavern burger was OK, my wife's salad was great. It's a very cool Pirates themed bar loaded with photos and posters, across the street from the stadium. There were plenty of TVs. The people sitting around us mostly had the steaks on stone which were huge and looked delicious. Draft beers are served in 20 Oz glasses.

I was in town 4 days ... visited this place 4 times. Great bar for a before game drink, other patrons were from all over so great place for chit chat. Beer was cold and food was very good. Suggest trying their signature item - steak cooked on a hot stone.

We absolutely loved this place. Best pork chop ever. Great mashed potatoes. Instead of cutting up his pork chop in bite size pieces as the server said to do, hubby cut it in strips to place back on the hot stone, so nothing was overcooked by the time he got to eating that part. He said it was so tender.

Host helped fit us in 1 hour before our reservation time on a Friday night as we were running early. Server was great. Checked on us a lot and kept my water full. I was accidentally given a house salad instead of caeser. I never would have said anything. Server actually noticed after another person delivered our food and offered to replace it. I didn't want to waste food so kept it. Gave him an extra tip for being so attentive. Earl gray old fashioned: solid drink. Would get again. Pickle focaccia pizza: good. Crust was more thin vs. focaccia, but finished it no problem. Grilled chicken house salad: decent. Chicken was dry. Broccoli and bacon salad: amazing Surf and turf on a stone: "best scallops ever," shrimp great, steak quality cut. Wished there had been more seasoning on the steak, but that's preference. French fries: cold. Couldn't finish them, cold. Our fault for not saying anything. Apple dumpling with ice cream: I loved it a lot Overall would give them another try, especially because of great service.

Breakfast restaurant
Nancy's Revival is a classic American diner in Wilkinsburg that has recently undergone a rebranding. It offers homestyle breakfast and lunch options, including beloved Nancy's classics and new favorites like cornbread waffles with chili. The diner provides generous portions at great prices, making it a fantastic local spot for a satisfying meal. While the crispy texture of the pancakes may not be as noticeable with delivery orders, the food still maintains its delicious quality.
Down to earth, straightforward and delicious food. We got the breakfast with juicy turkey bacon patties, eggs and toast, and some of the yummiest home fries I have ever had. Food arrived fast, place is busy but efficient, great spot!

I was truly impressed and wish I could give this place 10 stars instead of 5 lol. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Cute little diner that prioritizes uber eats over the customers already seated. Everyone was very kind, but our food was cold even though we waited an hour. Had to go and get our own butter, syrup etc from a random host stand. Our toast was just cold oily bread. . . And then it was $50 with tip lmaooo There’s food at home

First time visit won't be my last. Restaurant was very busy but we were seated fairly quickly. Very friendly service and a nice local atmosphere. A little rough around d the edges on first impression but the place is clean. Noisy but my frie d and I were able to enjoy a conversation without feeling like we had to shout. We did wait a bit for our food but it came out hot and fresh and our coffee cups were never empty. The food. 12/10. I had the country fried steak and eggs. Delicious perfectly cooked tender crispy and seasoned just right. Over medium eggs were on point, creamy buttery grits clean made by people who know how to make them. This is one of my favorite comfort meals and it was easily the best I have had in Pittsburgh. My friend had the French toast and she said it was delicious. She rarely finishes a meal when we go out and she ate every bite. We were both very full when we finished and already talking about coming back.

✨ Breakfast at Nancy’s Revival never disappoints — today it was steak and eggs, cooked just right. I’ve been coming here for years and it still feels like home. Standard diner experience which means really good food in a humble space. Everyone seemed to be regulars and I can see why. The food was delicious, the value was high, and the wait was short. I got a little bit of everything and probably ate too much to be honest. The pancakes were 10/10 and it’s easily the most amount of bacon in one order that I’ve seen. I would definitely come back, this place was delicious.

Every single person at Nancy's, customers and staff, was incredibly nice. We chatted with a gentleman at the counter who eats here every single day! We had a Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich (the bread was french toast!), and biscuits and gravy (allegedly the best in the city!). The home fries that came with the biscuits and gravy were perhaps the best I've ever had, and the two entrees were out-of-this world good. Wow! The food came fast, was hot and fresh, and the portion size was excellent for the price. The vibes at this establishment were fantastic, and I cannot wait to be back! Thank you Nancy's!

He was very set in his recommendations to us but did give us what we asked for. Most of the food even down to the jam was made from scratch and you could taste the heart and passion in the food. The orange juice was the most freshly squeezed juice and was amazing. They are very clearly proud of their culture and its beautiful. The chef was also so excited for us to try the crepes he gave us 2 free crepes so all of us could try a good portion. Overall wonderful experience if will definitely be coming back if im in town and would highly recommend this place.

A “please seat yourself” sign might be a good thing here? When I asked the person at the counter for a table, they asked me to order standing up at the counter, which I did: a breakfast entree and a salad. Then I took a seat an open table. Some diners that arrived after me were brought menus and enjoyed ordering from their table. Ok, fair enough. They also received a water bottle and water glass before I did. My entree and salad then came out to my table without utensils or a napkin. They were brought to me “a few moments later.” I had to ask for water a second time, even though I did ask for water when I ordered at the counter. The salad was somewhat dry and underdressed although the chopped nuts were a nice touch. The yolks in the over easy eggs could have been a bit runnier, but that’s a personal preference and it’s not like I ordered it that way. The sliced baguette bread was fresh and high quality. I usually don’t tip for food I order standing up, but I did tip modestly this time, even though the service wasn’t great. I would consider coming back for a return visit. 10/13/2025 update: response to the management’s response to my review: I’m not quite sure why your server would think I wanted to order take-out since I mentioned in the 2nd sentence of my review above that I asked the server for a table, and indicated to them that I wanted to dine-in.

Came back a second time and added the beef roast to the dish. We also ordered the carrot zucchini pancakes and again amazing. Asked for a cappuccino and it wasn’t my favorite, but of course the specialty Turkish coffee was so delicious! We sent our friends over and they also enjoyed the breakfast for two on a different day. "The Nook" is a local spot in Pittsburgh known for serving some of the best waffles in town. Despite its small size, the wait time is short, and the staff is well-organized and efficient. The Mexican benedict with perfect poached eggs and well-seasoned home fries are highly recommended. While the cappuccino wasn't exceptional, there are other coffee options to try next time. The ambiance is fun, and the Elote bites are delicious.
We had a great time here! The breakfast options are really fun and unique. I ended up with a hamburger (because of my dietary issues), but the fries were great, onion rings were great, and the drinks were strong! Lily was our server, and she was wonderful - very genuine, attentive, and kind even with a very full house. She just moved here, so be sure to take extra care of her on your tips! The owner was kind as well. The rest of the service was okay. My only negative is my burger game out medium well instead of medium rare, but it was still good. The environment is very cool and trendy with a nice outdoor seating area that's on a side road instead of the main road. I would absolutely come back! Prices weren't bad either - i spent about $30 for a burger, three vodkas, coffee, and onion rings. It's worth stopping by for breakfast! They close around 2 or 3.

Really homey, cute restaurant for a brunch/breakfast! The staff was so sweet and the eclectic decorations were a nice vibe. The eggsuberent had all the classics, eggs, ham cooked well, and the home fries were especially good, nice and crispy, could use a little more seasoning but hot sauce helped out. The pancakes here are also worth a try, very fluffy and tall, a little different with great texture! Their eggs Benedict is also quite good and super popular, try the Turkish sausage sulek, it’s worth it! Overall a nice spot for a relaxed brunch, would recommend! Overall really loved the energy, and they do some great classic breakfast dishes

Tucked into the morning hum of downtown Pittsburgh, Sally Ann’s serves up a breakfast sandwich that didn’t scream for attention, it earned it. The bacon was the kind that makes you reevaluate every strip you’ve ever had: thick, smoky, unapologetically rich, with a perfect chew that stayed with you. The egg, light as air, played its part without ego, while the supple, buttery bun held it all like it knew it was part of something special. A crunch of gem lettuce brought life, and the pepper jam... sweet heat with a whisper of smoke, pulled the whole thing into focus. I do believe that was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Pictures don't do it justice.

Visited here for brunch yesterday with some friends. We made a reservation but it surprisingly wasn’t too busy even with the Pirate game. We ordered a mix of cocktails and non alcoholic drinks to start. I got a Hugo Spritz which was tasty and refreshing, the perfect brunch cocktail. For my meal, I and the Kentucky hot brown. Overall it was tasty, the mornay sauce was really good but it was light on the turkey for an $18 sandwich. My friends tried a few of the other options and had great things to say about the Croque Madam, Quiche Lorraine and brisket hash. However, definitely skip the unseasoned $9 hash brown.

Really awesome, somewhat hip spot that is under the umbrella of Richard DeShantz restaurants. They really never disappoint. It is a little pricey, but the food is awesome. I got to try their Egg Ric Muffin and their ham and cheese croissant. Both were very good. The muffin was substantially more expensive than the croissant but the portion size was relatively similar (minus the parmesan potatoes), so I think that is a much better deal. However, flavor wise I enjoyed the muffin more. There is a great balance of flavors with the cheese, canadian bacon, and egg. Even the sauce is delicious. Not too fatty either and the muffin was in great shape. The potatoes were great as well, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, good amount of cheese, and good portion. The croissant was also very good, but quite rich. The cheese they added on top was a bit much for me, but they also packed a good amount of seemingly quality meat. Quite good for the price. All in all, not a super cheap place but a nice spot breakfast or lunch.

This was our first visit. As soon as you come in you can feel the hip, modern scene creating a fun vibe for you to enjoy your meal and socialize with your friends or family. The artwork is lively, reminiscent of many of todays popular trendy artists. the menu is diverse enough to offer something for most and every one at the table was pleased with their food.

I had the Sausage Breakfast Biscuit, and the food was pretty badly cooked. The potatoes were charred to the point of being inedible, and the sausage patty was quite a lot pinker than I am comfortable with for pork (see photos). The biscuit and pimento cheese were delightful though.

Ended up at Sally’s after a Lyft ride from PIT airport. The avocado toast was tremendous. The coffee was good. The only slight issue was the 15 minutes I had to wait, after being sat, for a server to come by. From that point on the service was good and the server was friendly. I would definitely go back the next time I’m in Pittsburgh.

We’ve been here multiple times and the food is great. The hash brown seems to have shrunk in size since last visit, but still very good. Service was sub par, starting with only 4 settings for our five top, the waitress may have said 5 words total, and not checking in once. Still and enjoyable experience, not def not what it once was. There is an up charge to get a gluten free Bloody Mary, but never communicated. Don’t mind paying extra, but $3 more for Tito’s instead of Skyy seems a little overpriced to me

Little local spot in a nice neighborhood with signs boasting about being a "neighborhood fave", and I definitely can see why. I was looking on Yelp for the best restaurants in the area I was staying in, and it was about 20 minutes from my hotel over by the airport. I LOVE a diner and breakfast food, so we made the trek over on our way out of town. It's a very intimate diner, and we sat at the bar. The staff was very personable, and they seemed to know a lot of the people who were currently in the restaurant, as well, seeing how their kids were and all that. The lady behind the counter was busy but still made time to chat with us and ask about us, as well as the other staff. They all seemed to get a long well, which is nice and cohesive, making for a fun environment. It didn't take long for our food to come out. I got a scramble bowl with egg, cheese, home fries, bacon, onions, and peppers, which came with toast, and I also ordered a pancake. It was all SO GOOD, lol, I packed up the rest of my bowl for leftovers and can't wait to eat them. And the prices were great. I think I ended up spending like $40~ for the two of us, plus a decent tip. If you all see this, thanks so much!! We look forward to visiting, again.

First this place is not cash only, This place has the most amazing home fries in the area! Just had the breakfast burger and seriously one of the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Service was so friendly, food was so good, it just felt so homey. Portions were very generous. This place deserves it's rating! Will love to come back!

Great Food. I got the Meat Lovers Omelette fantastic as were the home fries. The Breakfast Bowls look great too. Small Restaurant so get there early. Outdoor seating is limited to two tables but great if you can get them! Update: homemade Sausage Biscuits and Gravy special was delicious..a lot of flavor and Flakey toasted Biscuits.

Waffles, INCaffeinated on the South Side of Pittsburgh is a beloved breakfast spot known for its creatively topped waffles. The menu features a wide variety of options, including eggs benedict, bacon and eggs, bananas foster, biscuits and gravy, and more. For those who can't decide on just one dish, the Waffle Frolic offers a combination of four signature waffle dishes.
Delicious and unique waffles!! I especially recommend the waffle frolic— you get two sweet and two savory. The blueberry and peach cream cheese combo was my absolute favorite! Creamy sweet and soft with a unique flavor profile!! The country mile also had a perfectly seasoned egg and a lovely mix of fried tubers! Definitely beware that it gets pretty busy some mornings tho!

Felt rushed. It is a big menu, and I wanted to create my own waffle. The waitress kept coming back and seemed annoyed. The menu says sugar-free, so I figured it was a sugar-free batter. The waitress claimed it meant something else, super awkward. Also, being a waffle house, you would think they would have real maple syrup even if it is an upcharge. No, they make their own. I asked if it had corn syrup, and the waitress said probably. I figured she wouldn't want to make sure, so I didn't ask. The food was okay, kinda of standard, no wow. Definitely not going back.
Christy H — Google review
Slow as heck. Took about 5 minutes to be seated. Waited 20 minutes before asking a waiter that past our table 4 times could she get that waiter that had our table. She confirmed that she was our waiter and stated that she was getting to us and would return shortly. Another 15 minutes went by. We did not see her again. She never introduced herself and we were never offered drinks. We arrived at 10:55am and left at 11:38am
Victoria C — Google review
The food was just okay for the price. The only good thing was the potatoes. The kids meal french toast was hard. They put it in a waffle press. My waffle was soggy and the chicken on the waffle tasted like it was cooked hours ago. My husband's tacos were okay. My son's sandwich was okay. We were constantly swatting away flies and gnats that were landing on our food. I wish I would've read the comment about the health code violation before going. Honestly we were going to go to cheesecake factory for brunch but they were closed and we were already up there. Lastly, the service was disappointing. I used to work in the restaurant industry. I know how it can be. However, we felt very uncomfortable. Our server (erica) made it seem like the last thing she wanted to do was wait on our table. We were cut off multiple times while ordering. We felt rushed in the beginning and felt like we waited forever to pay and leave. Hearing how she reacted with other tables and how she reacted with ours was crazy. We always tip and we are friendly...Maybe she already judged us before we ordered.

currently sat in the restaurant, been here for 42 minutes waiting on 2 waffles. there’s only 3 other groups in here. update- it took a total of51 minutes to get my food. genuinely ridiculous. i could’ve walked home and made my own waffles in the time it took. and they weren’t even good!!

I've been here five times. I keep trying to give it another chance. In summary, it has outstanding food that is entirely wasted on abysmal, condescending, uneven service by a staff that can't seem to agree on what is actually on the menu. You might have one of the best breakfasts of your life, but there's a 50/50 chance you'll leave cussing and confused as to how they stay in business. It's worth it if you can tolerate their nonsense, and if you're OK with being told straight to your face that the menu doesn't say exactly what it says. (They're weirdly possessive of their seasoned tomatoes; they keep going out of their way to insist they don't come with my food even though they're listed clearly and unambiguously, and even though I've gotten them with the same dish before). It's almost like one of those novelty diners where the staff are all insulting on purpose, except it isn't fun like that. It's sad and discomforting, and kind of exhausting by the time you finish your meal. Or at least, the portions of your meal that they've decided to actually serve. Again, I've been here five times. First time was fine, another time was OK, and the other three all had me pissing blood. A truly bizarre experience.

great prices, goooooood food, and amazing waitstaff. Tameka was my server— she was funny, sweet, and made my entire day! Place was super clean and they were constantly making sure the bathrooms were well-kept also! Definitely space for larger groups as well!

The BEST breakfast in all of Pittsburgh. I will drop everything and drive 5 hours to eat breakfast here on a weekend. The flavor is in every bite in every menu item. I've also had Pamela's dinner and that place makes me feel so heavy when I'm done eating and everything is greasy. At Waffles INCaffeinated...you leave with a light stomach that is delighted with original and unique flavors. I get the waffle sampler and get 4 different flavors of waffles. Peach cream Blueberry is amazing!!! I also thoroughly enjoy their homemade gravy on that waffle. Their side of breakfast potatoes AMAZING and are not greasy and even have red, white, purple and sweet potato!! Their side of fruit is not your average canned crap, but instead, real fruit from local farms and orchards. Their syrup is also homemade and they have diferent flavors. The coffee/latte is also good. You won't go wrong!! They also have a punch card for waffle purchases. We went here again for a Bachelorette trip and it was my friends favorite food out of all the places we ate for the weekend. The waitress Katherine was the BEST waitress I think I've ever had in any restaurant. She listened, was patient, accommodating, helped celebrate our bride to be, and made sure we had drink refills but wasn't pushy. She even sent us on our way with recommendations of activities in the area and drinks. Their bathroom was tidy as well and large enough to move around and such. Parking is just street parking. There is an outside seating area which is nice too.

I wasn’t impressed. The food was not seasoned properly. My wife’s burrito had dry scrambled eggs. The home fries were bland. I might give it another try with another dish but I’m telling you, only one more chance.

Nice diner. Friendly and courteous staff. Generous portions. Omelettes are made with 4 eggs along with side of potatoes and bread. Enjoyed the build your own with home fries that weren't greasy at all. Take out is available. Has booth and counter seating. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Very pleased with my breakfast here.

Today was the first time my husband and I visited here and we will definitely be back. Lisa provided us with amazing customer service. We didn't wait long for our food at all and it looked amazing. The eggs were scrambled the way I like perfectly. (not to wet, not to dry) The breading on the steak was perfectly fried and the steak was juicy. My husband loved his over easy eggs and his home fries. It's very difficult to impress my husband when it comes to food especially breakfast and today you did. He's a very happy chef who is still talking about it. We will be coming back. Thank you

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. The staff is amazing as are the cooks. The country fried steak was crispy with smooth gravy covering it. The massive breakfast burrito is something I can easily make at home but to have it out, it was very worth it. Can’t wait to go back to try the lunch menu.

To be completely honest , I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. They have people in there touching raw meet and then touching everything else without changing gloves I told my waitress and all she had to say was it’s his first job.. ? So why aren’t y’all teaching him right .. the food is like a 5/10 homefries are dry need more flavor and the sausage was horrible. And the sausage biscuits and gravy tasted so gross I wouldn’t have even fed it to an animal.

Gaucho Parrilla Argentina is a vibrant Argentinian restaurant located in Pittsburgh's famous strip district. The eatery is known for its wood-fire-grilled meats, offering a variety of succulent options such as flank, sirloin, ribeye, New York strip, and skirt steaks served with salad and toast. The menu also features empanadas, chorizo, and an array of handmade sauces to complement the dishes.
I walked by this place on my way to Highmark for a convention event and the smell alone was enough to have me switch my dinner reservation to this place instead. We were just two, but we got a steak sandwich and one of their entree salads. Both came with what seemed like a whole sirloin and they were both cooked to perfection. This salad was the Cadillac of all salads: it came with abocyand asparagus and potatoes! It was so very tasty! The food came with a few dipping sauces that were fun to try. We also got a bottle of wine. Our server was so genuine in helping us make a selection. He admitted we hadn't tried menu of the wines we were considering but offered suggestions for what other customers had liked. He even went and asked someone for more details on one wine for us. Excellent service! We didn't have room for dessert, but everything we did eat was so good. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The service and atmosphere was impeccable- very vibrant, modern and casual. The food photographs beautifully. Just genuinely confused on why there are so many rave reviews on the food. Not bad at all, but certainly not worth the dinner menu prices they are charging. I would say the quality of food is comparable to your local restaurant in the 20-30 dollar range. Between myself and my partner we tried their house special cut as well as their most recommended appetizers, and the only dish we thought lived up to the reputation was the grilled vegetables. Definitely pop by for a visit to try for yourself- your taste buds are probably different from mine.

So I’ve gotta say the food overall was very very good. Service was not. They were obviously busy on a Saturday night, but our waitress had a hard time making it to our table. The appetizer order got screwed up and we couldn’t find anyone to get silverware when our dinner came out they had taken our Silverware after the appetizers.

I stopped by La Gourmandine with my wife this weekend after hearing great things from my family and friends. It definitely lived up to the hype. Perfectly flaky croissants and elegant pastries. I visited this restaurant at around 1pm on a Saturday and it wasnt very busy. I hope to come back soon.

Very cute bakery but I think I just need to come on a day when I know the prepared items are fresh. The croissants look to die for but I got the pistachio eclair and it was flavor wise amazing but it had the texture that it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. So I’ll definitely go back and make sure it’s fresh but besides that it was very good.

This is such a cute and delicious bakery! I went with a friend and liked it so much that I went back and snagged some pastries for my kids and husband an airplane ride away. I put them in a bag, and my daughter wanted more the second she finished her croissant. There isn't really a place to sit in the bakery, but the street it's on has plenty of tables and chairs. 10/10

What an excellent place to get delicious pastries. Especially French pastries. I thought the prices would probably be quite excessive, but this isn’t the case. Quite reasonable actually. I got to try out their clafoutis, abricotine (apricot pastry), and chouquettes. All 3 were very good. The clafoutis was wasn’t exactly like a pudding that I imagined. It was a lot more firm. Still, it was quite tasty and not too eggy. I loved the touch of cherries in there. Good portion for the price too. The chouquettes were a very lovely little pastry. Nice little snack and very cheap, but they are also very small. Plenty of sugar beads surrounding the patty, and the inside is a great firm texture as well. But buttery inside. The apricot was my favorite. It was somewhat like a danish with an apricot in the middle, but also somewhat like an apricot croissant. You have to try one of these out. Not too sweet. Goes very well with morning coffee. Buttery pastry. Nice! All in all, a very nice bakery in Lawrenceville. I’d love to come back and try out more items, but everything I had was great!

Great service, excellent pastries and sandwiches! Really can’t go wrong with anything here, but would definitely recommend the Montagnard sandwich if you’re a prosciutto lover, and the almond croissants!

The moment I walked in, the smell of fresh pastries pulled me right in. They offered samples of their almond chocolate croissant (amazing) and the woman at the counter was so welcoming, answering all my questions with a smile. She recommended their macarons — and I’ve never liked macarons before — but theirs completely changed my mind. Light, flavorful, and hands down the best macaron I’ve ever had. I also took home a ham & cheese quiche slice that made the perfect breakfast the next morning. Between the friendly service, delicious pastries, and cozy atmosphere, this place is a must-visit in Lawrenceville.

This is a great spot! The parking might be a little tricky to get into and it does get very busy but it's because it's an amazing place. The service is always super friendly. The food is so homemade, comforting and tasty! Mainly the portions are huge and the prices are so fair. You will absolutely take home leftovers and be glad to have them. They also sell cakes that are so delicious. I have tried a chocolate mousse and the carrot cake and both were just so wonderful. Can't recommend this place enough! First time here after multiple recommendations. Thus place is the real deal when it comes to good quality excellent food. We got the Stuffed Cabbage special and the Greek Lasagna. The Salad was great with the house dressing, which is a mediterranian flavor blast. And the Lemon Chicken soup with rice was phenomenal. Fresh locally made bread with no preservatives just add to the deliciousness here. For dessert we went with the Rice Pudding, home made and authentic.

This was always one of our favorite places to dine. We've been out of town and haven't eaten here in over 2 years, and we're delighted to say that Central hasn't missed a beat!! Great food (we both had the Greek Salad that comes with 2 grape leaves. And I ordered the grilled chicken for the protein...then we split the chicken!), friendly service, and a relaxed (yet somewhat noisy) atmosphere. If you live anywhere near here and you dine out at all, then you have to frequent this place. If you don't, well it's your loss.

This is really a comfortable, welcoming, and delicious place to eat. We were there for the first time this evening and were welcomed by one of the managers and bartender, Marybeth. During a short 10 minute wait on a busy Saturday night she made an an excellent vodka gimlet which she filled to the bottom of the shaker, complete with colorful sparkling ice cube! Our waiter was friendly, attentive, efficient and knew his stuff! My husband had a full turkey dinner, even though it was nowhere near Thanksgiving and I had chicken Athena. Both were excellent. By the end of dinner one of the other managers, Yanni, came over and engaged in a truly nice conversation. They state that they pride themselves on making you feel like family in the introductory remarks of their website and menu. They absolutely follow through on that promise. They have comfortable booths and tables. The atmosphere is more upscale than the word “diner“ might convey, but it is also not overly done nor expensive. Even on a completely filled night, the din of conversation was happy and not at all distracting. It was quite pleasant. We will definitely be there again and again. We hope you will be too because you will have a very comfortable, lovely and delicious evening and some great drinks if you so desire! 😋

Wow this is a hidden gem! It was recommended by a local and I am thrilled we went. Go I think everything on the menu looked great as they brought food out to other tables. I enjoyed soup and salad to start. Followed by a fantastic spanakopita. The main meal was scallops in a tortilla bowl. Yum! I passed on dessert, but they had an amazing selection of cakes to choose from.

I used to come here often a few years ago but had a negative experience so I haven’t been back. A few years ago I got the chicken noodle soup and it had cardboard in it so I didn’t return. I figured I’d try it again. When I got there, the hostess was rude to myself and other patrons. Someone asked her where the bathroom was and all she said was “by the sign that says ‘bathroom.’” The Greek fries were good but the chicken dish that I ordered was not good. Mashed potatoes didn’t have any flavor. It came with a salad that they didn’t bother to prepare at all. My friends meal came with coleslaw that tasted good but was plated strange and messy. Definitely used to be a better experience. Probably won’t return again for another few years.

Came in on a Friday around noon, and the parking lot was PACKED. The service was a bit slow; but the food was good. The fried pickles were spears, not slices. The marinara it came with was DELICIOUS. The grilled chicken Caesar wrap was alright. I didn’t think they were going to grill the whole wrap, so the lettuce came out all wilted, which was weird. But overall, good. Check out their cake display!

Excellent, filling breakfast of strawberry-filled pancakes and chorizo sausage. This busy restaurant is obviously an area favorite as customers were waiting for a spot as early as 9 on the Saturday morning we ate there. Good portions, tasty food. I am usually not the one for breakfast, but I had a really early class and I was extremely hungry, so I decided to come here. of course, this is a famed spot in pittsburgh, but unfortunately, I never got around to trying it. I got the hot cakes which they are known for with some eggs, sausage and bacon. Hot cakes are a baby of crepes and pancakes if I had to describe it. my friend got the chorizo hash with some eggs and toast. Honestly, everything tasted really good. The food itself is quite simple, but it is done well. My eggs were running as I liked them, and the hot cakes were pretty tasty as well. Also, the quantity of food and portion sizes are quite big. We were struggling to finish our meals. The ambience is that of a diner and even on weekdays, if you go during prime breakfast time, expect to have a wait time. If you’re looking for hearty rustic breakfast, I would definitely recommend this place, but don’t expect anything gourmet or very nuanced flavours. The wait staff were attentive to our needs and provided good service.

Husband went here during undergrad, and so we hit it up for breakfast. Had the chorizo and eggs, it wasn’t bad. Real star of the dish was the Lyonnaise potatoes, softer than your average home fries but tastier I feel. The decor was cute, and it’s bright and adorable inside. Good place for breakfast.

The Food: We ordered the chocolate chip banana speciality hotcakes, croissant french toast and the potatoes with eggs. I personally ate the chocolate chip banana speciality hotcakes and the potatoes, and both were exceptionally good - like, come here just to order these things every other day kind of good. The pancakes I believe are flapjacks with perfectly crisp edges and a delicious buttery taste. Every bite felt well portioned, there was never too much or too little of the filling (never too much chocolate or banana). The potatoes were so good they made me rethink the power of such a simple ingredient. They were wonderfully crisp, NOT burnt, and were very well seasoned. The Service: We were seated promptly after entering, and immediately our very nice server came to ask if we wanted something to drink. We took about 7-10 minutes to decide what we wanted. She came around once within that time frame and then again at the end of it to take our order, and was very patient with our questions about the options. She was kind in sharing what her recommendations were, and redirected us to more cost effective pairings when we asked for multiple things that could be grouped together. Our food came quickly and it was just as we asked for. I also liked her socks (Lol!) they had a cool design! She came by briefly during our meal to refill our water and ask how we were getting along. Very nice, respectful of our space, and resourceful. The Atmosphere: I didn’t notice this until sitting down but all of the walls are lined with vintage board games! It was a great way to pass time. The tables are pretty close to each other so beware of the fact that you might hear the conversation of the person next to you but I didn’t find it difficult to disregard. It had a nice diner feel. Overall, much enjoyed. Will be back.

Great diner with kind servers and classic dishes. The pancakes are fun in that they're cooked like crepes yet still use pancake batter. Prices are super reasonable too. I'll be back 😁

Pamela’s is definitely a well-loved local spot! Despite having a constant stream of new diners, they were efficient and quick with service. Must try to the crepe-style pancakes, even if you don’t want a sweet bite. Would definitely recommend!

good food, but rude service. this place was super yummy for a casual sunday brunch with two other friends, and the prices are amazing (especially as a broke college student!). our waitress and busser were so sweet! the hostess however rubbed us the wrong way. made an offhand comment about how much we tipped (10%...again, broke college students) and tried to tell us about "standard service etiquette". she stared at us for a good 30 seconds. we were in the diner for less than an hour, and each ordered one thing. as someone who's worked in the service industry for 3+ years, i was appalled at the lack of professionalism. for someone who felt like she knew enough on restaurant etiquette to confront three teenagers, she sure did forget basic customer-client relations. good food and cute vibe, but will not be going back.

Have been here three times in the last two weeks and a dozen times before that over the years before moving out this way. This is one of the best diners you will find in any city. I especially appreciate the fact that they are open at 7am on the nose, which means I'm not going to run late because the diner decided to open late that day. The food is spectacular and quick. Today, I had the body builder omelette, which is a great low carb option for an easy arm day. They also have a bigger selection of hot sauce than most places. Just make sure that if you are meeting people here that you all go in together. They do not allow people to join tables once the table is sat.

Bruegger's Bagels is a popular cafe and bakery chain known for its small-batch, New York-style bagels as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Located on Forbes Avenue, the establishment offers a wide variety of bagel flavors, from classic plain to blueberry and everything in between. In addition to traditional plain cream cheese, they also offer unique options like honey walnut and jalapeno.
My coffee and bagel were well made. The restaurant itself was dirty... Everywhere. The prep counters were a mess. The floors had food and outside debris all over, and non of the tables were clean. The high top table didn't even have chairs. My only issue with service was that the person att he register took my coffee order and didn't ask if I needed anything else. I had to wait till he was done making my coffee to ask for a bagel. The order came fast enough, but I feel sales would be better if the place was better kept and the staff were there to serve... Not just get through the day. The restaurant only had 4 people in it and no one in line when I arrived.

Why is it that every Sunday and Monday this sign is on the door? Do you only sell Jamba Tuesday through Saturday? And I wont even ask if your hours are correct because again on Sundays and Mondays this store closes by 1pm. Not 2 like it says. Maybe the big bosses should check on this place because clearly they dont want to make money. Run Far Far away from this place.

I'm not coming to this location again. The staff literally cannot handle any amount of people. 3 people ahead of you? Wait 15+ minutes. 7 people ahead of you? 30+minutes. Today I waited 10 minutes, AND PEOPLE WHO ORDER AFTER ME GOT FOOD BEFORE ME! Were the staff ever trained here? The sheer amount of incompetence in this store is baffling

Every time my friends and I go there to order a smoothie we are told they are not making smoothies. They tell us they are understaffed. Meanwhile, one employee is just standing there. We were only asking for one smoothie. If you're not going to serve them, get rid ofthem. Tropical smoothie needs to take over.

I would give zero stars if I could. Ordered 2 sandwiches, I confirmed twice the type of bread and they still got both wrong!!! No one else waiting, place was empty and I still waited 15 min for two bagels?? I got it to go, so obviously I only found out it was incorrect once I got home. Workers don't wear proper hair nets and they had their hair down. How is this hygienic to prepare food with hair down? Cashier goes back and forth and was preparing eggs without gloves. Disgusting. Unacceptable. Way too overpriced for the crappy sandwiches we got.

I haven't had Brueggers since I left Albany, NY so I was ecstatic that it was near I was staying in the area. The location has plenty of space and you can dine in. The hours are between 6am-2 pm and there are plenty of choices to choose from. The bagels are a lot smaller than I remember. But the sandwiches are on point. I love the Turkey Chiptole !! But the service here is terrible. At breakfast time, there was only one person on the register and two preparers. The wait was more than 15 minutes and everyone behind the counter was just not pleasant. I hope I have better service at a different location.

During our first ever visit to Pittsburgh, we were very surprised how much the downtown did not seem equipped to handle the breakfast crowd. Over a few days, we kept seeing the Jamba Juice sign and our kids really wanted to check it out, mostly for the smoothies. On our last morning in the city, we went. Again, it was 9am and it seemed like they were ill-prepared for people wanting breakfast. The smoothie machine was broken, napkins were hard to find, the bagel shelves for half empty and even though it was pretty empty, the staff seemed slammed and exhausted. To be fair to them there were only 2 people. The bagels were pretty good, but my breakfast sandwich was a bit of a hot mess. Maybe a storm of customers just left cause that is how the place looked. I am very curious if this is the whole downtown as it wasn't the only place that seemed under staffed and not really ready for customers.
Michael C — Google review
Overall service was trash. Manager got an attitude when I said their coffee looked like green tea. The bagels were OK but they sat on the counter for minutes and I had to ask where was my food. The Manager has zero customer service and has little man syndrome. The cashier Tamia was the most pleasant person in the establishment, and she seemed to be intimidated by the narcissist Manager. Go somewhere else.

With multiple locations across the city, including Squirrel Hill, The Strip District, Shadyside, Mt. We were on a college visit and had read good reviews about this diner. We give it a great review. The hot cake crêpes were buttery and melted it in my mouth. The service was top-notch. It was a very busy restaurant and they never hesitated to bring more coffee, check on our table, and they always had a smile on their face.

This place is just so torturing slow. Sure, I know I picked Saturday noon, but 55 minutes between us stepping into the door and getting the food is just beyond me. Corn beef hash may be hot and crispy, but it feels way too salty, especially when rest of the plate is not salted at all, so the contrast is very uncomfortable.

My 1st time here & my husband came 30 years ago. There was a queue of a dozen people before 8am opening. We were impressed with the delicious food, generous portions, great value for value & prompt service. Our waitress Christine was professional & attentive. Our food came out hot 🔥 within 10 min from ordering. Charli posed for a 📸 as I 💚 her tshirt. I gave verbal feedback to Melissa that we felt Pamela's Diner was a well oiled machine - efficient cooperation between front of house (servers) & back of house (cooks). We love supporting local businesses at home & when we travel domestically & internationally. Only downside was the acoustics inside - very noisy. (we were at table L5)

Pamela’s Diner in Shadyside brings that classic breakfast energy with a local twist. The space is a decent size, typical breakfast dinning. The staff is friendly, and the vibe leans nostalgic without feeling outdated. I went with pancakes, bacon, and eggs—fried over medium. The pancakes were super thin. Almost crepe-like. The batter was solid, and they hit the spot without feeling heavy. Bacon was crisp, eggs were cooked right. Things to note: Expect a wait during peak days / hours. They also have other locations.

The food is always delicious at Pamela's. This is the 2nd time in a row that I went to Pamela's Shadyside and got a grouchy waitress, I'll stick to my normal Millvale Pamela's from now on. Today I had the Greek Wrap and it was really good. My relatives from out of town really enjoyed their hotcakes and omelets. The wait for a table was 15 minutes which was very reasonable for 12pm

It is truly a family spot...which was fine with us! However, it was quite loud and difficult to have a conversation. We had our small baby with us too, so we felt right at home, and the children were adorable. Our food was very good however I specifically asked for extra butter on my toast and there was barely a drop. I couldn't eat it. (people make mistakes). We'll go back. The staff was extra nice and very attentive.

Went here for breakfast and it was good food. The staff we interacted with were all nice. We got the chorizo hash (which had a little kick to it), the morning after special and the three crepe pancakes, with orange juice and their coffee. Overall, this was a great experience, the vibes make you feel like you’re in a small town (even though you’re in a big city). I’d come back again, if we ever came back.

What can I say? I love eating at this Cracker & Barrel when I visitting the area. The servers are always super friendly and the food always comes out on time. I usually dine for the early dinner meal and the cost of the meali extremely affordable that it gives me the opportunity to order dessert afterwards. My favorite is their peach ice tea with free refills. I highly recommend this place.

First visit since major changes. Love the drink options. Beer, wine and a few mixed drinks. We had the fried chicken dinner with baked potato and fries. Be warned it's a full half of chicken. Chicken, baked potato were good. Fries were ok. We also had the Sampler platter with meatloaf, chicken with dumplings, broccoli and mustard greens. Meatloaf, chicken and broccoli very good. Dumplings too doughty. Greens not hot enough and lacking seasoning. Service was excellent as were the prices. About $20 per person with drinks. We will go back to try more items.

I think we know what Cracker Barrel is all about so this review is for this particular location. We were greeted immediately and seated quickly on our weekday lunch. I had to take a peg game off of another table for the kid that was with us. The hot chocolate the kid ordered looked and tasted fabulous but made a huge mess when the mountain of whipped cream started melting. My coffee wasn’t filled as often as I would have liked. Our waitress was really nice and the food tasted as good as usual.

Cracker Barrel is a great place to go to get some good home style food like maybe grandma used to make. Try the pot roast it has great flavor. The menu is full of great choices and the prices are pretty reasonable too. When you enter you go through their gift shop first take some time before or after your meal to browse their selections. They have all kinds of stuff. They also have candy that many adults would recognize from their childhood, for example they have satellite wafers and candy dots on paper strips. Wax candy and so much more. So stop in for a nice home style meal and maybe some dessert and browse the gift shop.

Good breakfast place. Generally well attended. I imagine on the weekend they're probably very busy. I had no problem getting a space to have breakfast this morning. Food was good in the service was good. Fairly basic atmosphere but that's what I would expect

Ok.. where do I even begin. I walked in and was greeted with nothing but smiles and sunshine from the hostesses. My belly was empty, I was so hungry, not gonna lie I was hangry… their kindness certainly helped simmer me down. The kind lady sat me and my buddies down at our table for three. GREAT atmosphere, might I add, lots of tables of different size varieties, large windows for that added ambiance Lol. The first thing I did was look at the menu. Such variety, so many options. Not good for a hangry person.. who must make a decision as soon as possible. I ended up ordering a delicious order of the Belgian waffles, with batatos and scrambled eggs. Wow…. Just wow was this good! The eggs were varnished with some green onion, the waffle arrived with a scoop of cinnamon butter and blueberry jam, it was DIVINE. I devoured it all into my belly in a jiffy! There was one issue though, the unfortunate reason why I must give this place a 4/5 rather than a 5/5. There was certainly not enough potatoes on my plate. Like god, what is this? A mouse’s portion?? I don’t know about you all but I certainly do not eat like a mouse. Please fix this and probably DOUBLE the amount of potatoes served… Me and my belly were very dissatisfied. Anyways, I will provide photos of my EMPTY plate. I was too hungry to snap a photo of the entire meal. I will include a picture of my buddies biscuits and gravy which also looked divinely delicious. Edit* Came back. Got the same thing. Syrup was hot, food was hot, and waitress was hot. 10/10 would recommend

This was a great find for us while in town for the weekend! The portions are massive, and the food is excellent. We loved the ricotta pancakes and breakfast burrito. Got Togo food from this location. If our omelettes were made with 3 eggs, they must have been hummingbird eggs because the omelettes were paper thin. None of the fillings were incorporated with the eggs, it was more like an egg wrap. My girlfriend’s had a hair in it and her guac had a quarter of an avocado rind in it. The crepe pancakes were still good though. Not sure if it’s just this location bc I don’t remember having this bad of a food experience at any of the other stores, but will not be returning to this one. It seemed like a rip off for $50 dollars and I haven’t ever felt that way after spending the same amount at the strip or Oakland location.

The Original Pancake House is a well-known restaurant that specializes in pancakes. The food is of high quality, and the wait time for a table can be frustrating, but overall it's a great place to go for breakfast.
Had the best experience here. I walked into this place last July when 1 first opened my business and I immediately feel in love with the set up, the building, windows, doors the entry way is my whole vibe, and the restaurant is beautiful. Very clean. The owner and staff are absolutely wonderful. Yesterday I had a cancel and I finally dined in. This is my place for now. Amazing. So many choices. Food was good portion and excellent. To start off, let me talk about parking. Restaurant is located on an upper incline road that does not have enough parking spaces. There were elderly people parking at the preschool and had to walk. Secondly, if you have to drop off those who are not able to walk up a hill and find parking. Why do they have to have a sign on their check-in podium stating, "can not be seated without your whole party?" Third, after being seated, the approximate wait was less than 15 minutes, which is good for a Sunday. (Was my birthday breakfast). It took our waitress another 10 minutes to just address us and another 10 to take our drink order. We got the corn beef hash, home potatoes & eggs, turkey link sausage & eggs, and kielbasa & eggs. The homestyle potatoes had no flavor, and the turkey link sausage was rubbery and disgusting. Between the three of us, we took a nibble of oe sausage and could not even swallow since it tasted weird. Our waitress never came around. We had to ask the waitress next to us to request her. When she came to our table, I described the texture of the sausage and asked if she could replace it with the kielbasa. The item came quickly, which was great! When we got our check, we were surprised that she charged us $.25 to replace the food. It's not the price but the principal. We did not tip as well, and we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The atmosphere and hostess are the only 3 stars this place will receive from us.

This was a wonderful breakfast spot for a first date! I got the strawberries and whipped cream short stack. The pancakes almost tasted like they had sourdough starter in them. Overrated. The bagels are only a step up from the grocery store bread aisle bagels. I've only been here a few times, but everything I get ends up below average. I'd prefer Bruggers for bagels and Insomnia for cookies.

This location has gone downhill since the private equity buyout a couple years ago. The portion sizes are tiny and prices have steadily increased. It’s a good place to get work done if the wifi works (sometimes it doesn’t..) It just feels like you’re getting overpriced hospital food
Jake K — Google review
Today I was in there for a drink. As I was sitting there, I saw a mouse scurry by. 🐁 My friend saw it as well. I don’t think I’ll eat here EVER again. It’s always so dirty. Don’t think they ever clean. You’d think with how expensive all the food is they would make enough money to hire people to clean the place.
Mara K — Google review
Terrible quality food, especially for what you pay. It’s at least a good place to study when the wifi works…

I like this location being on Forbes ave in Oakland. It's always clean both the dining room area and the rest rooms. Well lit and a friendly counter staff.
Imjustmykle I — Google review
It took me 40 minutes to get my order filled when doing take out at the store. This was not the fault of the staff but the setup itself. Ideally, there would be no orders taken if the wait is that long or an ETA would be given so you can make a decision based on that. Waiting 40 minutes for a lunch order is not something that I was expecting. Again the food and staff were great but the wait was not.

Bar
Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the lively South Side of Pittsburgh, Nadine's Restaurant is a beloved family-owned bar and grill that welcomes patrons with its eye-catching red sign. Open from early morning until the wee hours, it caters to everyone from night owls to early risers, making it a go-to spot for those seeking hearty meals at any time.
Woah, what a hidden gem. A small bar with fantastic American diner food. We came on Monday morning but the place was already packed. The food portion here is large and the price soo good. For four menu plates, paid only $30. The bar is a bit dingy but food is on point. Wouldn’t come here for a date, but would definitely come again with the guys.

Got French toast to go and they were phenomenal! The woman who rang me up was very kind and the food was amazing. I was really craving French toast and they were perfect. They weren't soggy at all and the sweetness was just perfect with everything else. Will def be going back

We came for breakfast, and the woman told us directly, "I am NOT cooking breakfast. I'll make eggs but I am NOT making pancakes, waffles, or French toast." My sister-in-law did not like her attitude the way she said it. So much for "The customer is always right."

Just driving around to fine restaurants that was featured on Diners Drive In And Dives. Excellent food. Great Bloody Mary.

We had a few beer and Jack and Coke and watched a football game. Quick friendly service and good prices. Everyone was very nice.

After searching today Tuesday May 14th. Jamie my BFF and I were looking for somewhere to eat. Our food was delicious! Great spot for lunch. The steak quesadilla was amazing. My friend said her steak hoagie was great! Friendly atmosphere!

My first place to grab a bite (breakfast) in Pittsburgh. I try to find the “most local” places I can when I travel, and this is definitely it. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.
Jared L — Google review
I read a lot of good views about this place. The people that gave the reviews must be a regular, because . The pictures that they show on their sight Is false, It does not look nice and clean or shine The grill was dirty. The floor was dirty and this was at 12 o'clock. Noon, the guy who cooking our food had no gloves on as he was cooking I got a Reuben, and he was eating the cornbread meat out of the bag with his open hands. The reuben was nasty, it left a aftertaste in my mouth would not recommend this place to anyone. I was thinking the whole time I was there. Do the board of health, come here to inspect, because they need to.
