The 50 best bars and drinks in Pittsburgh

They offer an interesting and ever-changing selection of wines by the glass and bottle. I'm an avid wine geek, and still manage to find wines I haven't encountered on a regular basis. While some wines are available from week to week, there are often new wines on offer. The knowledgeable and friendly staff is great at making suggestions based on preference. It's also just a comfortable spot to chat with friends over a glass of wine and some snacks. Whole I go there for the wine, they have other offerings including excellent cocktails. This has become s regular stop for me.

I had no idea what to expect when my friend asked to meet here but I was pleasantly surprised. Why do they have glizzy's on special? I have no idea but I love the quirkiness of the place and the bar menu. The bartender was very nice and parking wasn't entirely terrible for Butler Street. I don't like coleslaw but I went for it and got this hot dog with coleslaw and potato straws on them and I loved it! Definitely will be back.

I love Allegheny Wine Mixer every time I go. When I worked nearby, it was a nice after work stop. Now, it's my go to place for drinks and a convo with a friend. I love to grab champagne and a fancy hot dog there. The cheese plates are always good. It's a lovely wine bar where they're always kind, never snobby, and happy to help you make your selection.

Allegheny Wine Mixer is a cozy, creative, welcoming space. The cocktails are excellent and the Sunday-Special hotdog is over the top (the desserts are fabulous, too).

Amazing wine & cocktail bar that also serves small bites! They have a well curated wine list and specialty cocktails, an assortment of meat, cheeses and other small plates like pate and dips. Service is great and they give great recommendations. Aesthetic is fun and cozy.

Allegheny Wine Mixer is a relaxed spot with solid drinks and great snacks. The staff are always friendly and make it easy to stop in and enjoy.

What can I say? Totally cool wine bar decorated with paint by number paintings and black velvet paintings. I especially love the lighted black valve it painting near the bar. We sat at the window seat and we’re completely comfortable. Great selection of wine, awesome cocktails great local beers and a wonderful small plate menu. Will definitely be back

The warren is a shining star in Pittsburgh. We went after a recommendation, and immediately went the next day again. First off, it is 100% true they have the best old fashioned in the nation, as stated by the WSJ. Cocktails, sliders, sushi, and flatbreads. That's what they got at the Warren, and they it all so deliciously well! We are so thankful we went, and everyone we referred to go there, also had an awesome experience as well! If you are at an event at the Heinz Hall, it is an easy walk to the Warren!

Excellent food. I don’t personally like American food and always skeptical about sandwiches but the chicken katsu was really well made. The chicken is fried with a good crunch but the meat inside is still moist and melted in your mouth, they have a sunny side up egg, made the sandwich even more juicy. The tater tots were good as well. I had the Benny Roll, and oh my the salmon was torched on top of the roll filled with tempura shrimp and avocado, melted in my mouth as well. All combined with eel sauce and sriracha makes it flavor enough for a roll but not overwhelming the filling is really well made too. We shared a Caprese flatbread, the garlic oil was juicy combined with the mozzarella and fresh tomato makes it very good and the base bread I don’t know where did they source it from but it was very crunchy and matched perfectly with the toppings on top. Overall, very good experience on food, our server brought the food out very quick as well. It was a very busy Sunday after the game, concert and games and all that, but they managed to up keep the guest experience so very good place to eat.

very crowded on a sat night but still has fast service. Sushi and wings were only okay and portions were small for the price, but drinks were very reasonably priced, nice place to hang out with a group downtown.

Hands down the best Old Fashioned and Sushi I’ve had in a long time. The double patty Bison burger was everything and more. It may have been my first time there, but it will not be my last!

We really enjoyed our time at The Warren! It was a little hard to find, being from out of town, as the signage was not super prominent. But once inside, we could understand why this place has a good reputation. The menu here is out of this world tasty. The Chicken Katsu Sammi is a MUST- we also ordered the Crab Rangoon Dip which was so yummy, and the sushi was also a banger. The Steak and Cheese was decent; for us, it could have used a sauce or more cheese, but I can appreciate there being an option for people whose palettes are overwhelmed by bolder flavors. Our server, Ellie, was so lovely and gave us some stellar recs across our meal. Overall, giving this a 5 for the food and vibes. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Pitt.

Great local watering hole. I love to go there. It gets super busy, especially after shows and events locally, but that’s just because it’s so good!! Décor inspired by Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, so subtly that you wouldn’t know. Courteney (did I spell that right?), Merv, and Eric are personal favorite bartenders with great conversation (Courteney in particular). Drinks are yum and quaffable. Would love to, in coming months, see some real sweet tooth cocktails that I could down. Everyone I know who’s been loves this place!

Absolutely gross. Sitting in the back of the bar felt like I was dropped into a fly convention. SO many FLIES buzzing around I couldn’t even enjoy my drink. On top of that, my server barely checked in and gave the bare minimum level of service. Disappointing all around.

As a tiki fan this spot was dope to check out. Great food options and a great variety of tiki beverages and even some n/a options. The mugs are sick and the swizzles are so fun, definitely check it out!

This place was amazing! Wanted to go for my birthday and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The food is a little pricey but is very good and all the extra stuff like the cups and mugs are so unique and cute! The atmosphere was amazing and service was great! And they offer great mocktails which is rare but awesome! Would def go again!

Be warned, Hidden Harbor will ruin most other Tiki bars for you! Seriously, Pittsburgh is lucky to have this "mender of broken dreams." The drinks may be expensive, but they're expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and tons of rums. I highly recommend a Mai Tai with their house-made orgeat. Atmosphere and food are also incredible. Pro Tip: If it's your birthday, don't be shy about mentioning it. You'll get an off-menu surprise!

Amazing drinks and atmosphere! We came after dinner with a group of friends to get a drink. The cocktails all come with very special presentation, the menu shows which glass they come with and how strong they are and I even got the small details as a small plastic lizard on my drink !! Staff were super nice and although the place was busy we could get a seat for 6 people. Drinks are in a pricey side ( think of on average $16 ) but in my opinion totally worth the nice presentation and lively vibe ! Great place for a date also as you can for sure have a conversation and it’s not too loud. The only reason I give 4 ( and only my personal opinion) is adding automatically 20% gratuity to the bills. While I almost always always (!) pay the 20% regardless, I think customers should have the choice to pay less if they found the service not good, or pay a little less then 20% based on their situation. Overall, very cool place and I can’t wait to visit again and try more drinks and foods also this time :)

Awesome bar! As a tiki enthusiast, I found that the drinks are spectacular: well balanced and varied. The Ride or Die was phenomenal. Garnishes and mugs on point. In addition to delightful alcoholic options, they had a few NA options as well; all three that we tried were amazing. We grabbed a few food items and they were delicious as well. All the servers were so nice, environment was clean and pleasant. Just overall a lovely evening; wish I lived closer! (Visited while traveling out of town)

I saw this place on a friend's post and had to try for myself! Excellent decision - the drinks were fun and the atmosphere elevated the whole experience. It's not cheap, but the place delivers for what you pay. Did not try any food so can't comment on that, but definitely a spot to visit if you like fancy cocktails with creative visuals.

Hadn’t been here for dinner in a while and decided to bring my mom for her birthday. The dining area is quite small so I would recommend a reservation! We were seated and greeted promptly. I started with a cocktail which was tasty. For starters, we ordered the focaccia, sformato, and the arancini. The focaccia and arancini were good, but the sformato was the standout. Would definitely recommend ordering if you’re there for the spring menu. For entrees, I had the bolognese bianco which was delicious and just the right amount of richness. My mom had the lamb orecchiette which she said she enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the rosemary hazelnut pana cotta, it was just the right amount of sweetness and something unique. Overall a great meal.

We had our wedding reception at Bar Marco and it was perfect. Shelby made the planning process so easy, and the staff went above and beyond on the day of. The food was incredible and our guests are still raving about it. The service was warm and seamless, and the space created the exact atmosphere we wanted: intimate, fun, and special. We could not have imagined a better place to celebrate.

I had my bridal shower on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at Bar Marco and it was absolutely perfect! The space was airy and bright, the staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing! I am so pleased with how everything went. Beautiful space for an event!

Had dinner here with some friends and it was overall a great dining experience. Lots of small plate options to share if you want to nibble before your entree arrives. We had Amaro flights after our meal, and the bartender came out and discussed the different amaros with us and let us see the bottles. As an added bonus, they are a gratuity-free establishment.

My wife and I ate at Bar Marco the night we were married. We just returned for our 10th anniversary and it was spectacular. We dined downstairs in the wine room and the food, service, atmosphere were all top notch. They care deeply about the ingredients that they use and it shows.

We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Bar Marco’s upstairs event space, Union Hall. Shelby and her team are like a well-oiled machine- our day ran so smoothly and they made sure everything was taken care of so we could truly enjoy the whole day with our guests. The service was impeccable and our family and friends couldn’t stop raving about the food- some of them have even made reservations since our wedding to eat at the restaurant! We will now forever be regular patrons at Bar Marco and cannot thank them enough for making our wedding day truly the best day of our lives.

Entering the front door with six people, the manager yelled at us to “Close the Door!” Very rude. Only attended an upstairs private function. Appetizers were good. Drinks were good. But the stairway up was very high and there is no elevator. As we left that evening, there was no lighting to walk down the stairs. Some of the folks in attendance were pushing their 80s and had to be escorted slowly down the steps using phone flashlights. I told the staff this was an accident waiting to happen, but he said “Oh, someone just shutoff the switch”. Which I tried at the top, as well as the bottom but no lighting.

While visiting downtown Pittsburgh, I came across Bridges & Bourbon and decided to stop in. We ordered the beet salad and salmon, and I was especially impressed with the salad—it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I’d definitely go back just for that dish. The salmon was slightly on the dry side, but overall, the experience was enjoyable. The vibe of the place was fancy yet comfortable, with a stylish and modern ambiance. One thing that really stood out was the creative presentation of the drinks—even though I didn’t order one myself, the cocktails being served to other tables looked playful, artful, and fun. I’d recommend Bridges & Bourbon if you’re looking for a trendy spot with good food, great atmosphere, and beautifully crafted drinks.

We met some friends at Bridges & Bourbon for cocktails after dinner on Friday night, and it was the perfect spot for a post-dinner drink. The vibe inside is fantastic, and their cocktails are truly works of art. Many drinks come with dramatic presentations, like smoke or even a blowtorch 🔥

My wife and I had several drinks there on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was very chill but the drinks were top shelf. My wife went on and on about the blackberry smash and my smoked bourbon was fantastic. I highly recommend and would go back in a second.

The cutest spot with the coolest cocktails! the colors and presentations are incredible! AND they tasted great! I could have spent an entire evening there teying all of them!

So my opinion of Bridges and Bourbon upon my first experience led me back to the bar. I was initially impressed with the selection of fine Bourbons and the atmosphere was mostly friendly and pleasant. However, my most recent visit left me with dissatisfied. While the waitress/hostess couldn’t have been friendlier and was well tipped to say thank you for their excellent service, the bar as a whole was disappointing. I ordered Eagle Rare from the waitress and got Elijah Craig. When I pointed this out, the waitress asked the bar staff and they said, “oh, thought that’s what your note said and then she informed me the bartender didn’t have Eagle Rare”! How the hell do you not have Eagle Rare with Bourbon in your name? They also didn’t have Blantons, or any Buffalo Trace products that I could mention. However, if I ordered them I was afraid I might get something else, since I was never asked if the substitution was an acceptable one by the bartender before serving it! He just sat it on our table, announced it and walked away. The waitress rescued the situation by asking if I liked EC and I said it was fine. However, it was my last bourbon at B&B. I also observed them serving “trendy” drinks that gave off more of a flair than did satisfy a pallet for good liquor. If you are going to be “that” bar, then call yourself something else. Maybe Bridges and Booze.

This was one of the nicest upscale cocktail bars that I’ve been to, the drinks were amazing and artsy, and the atmosphere was really nice as well!! The only thing we didn’t like is they didn’t tell us that there was last call so we were just given our check, but our server was really nice and helped us find another place to go after.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary thinking it would be a nice fine dining experience with great drinks. Honestly.. wish we went to Mt. Washington instead. Drinks were subpar- nothing special. My husband was disappointed in the bourbon selection and the cost. Atmosphere was very cramped and noisy. Food was absolutely not worth the price. If you look at their menu, their meals only come with 1 or no sides. I ordered the steak with potatoes, it was pretty delicious but not for $56. I was still hungry after. My poor husband got the crab risotto- Gordon Ramsey would be APPALLED. They use the stem from a green onion and it’s not cooked, so it literally tastes like grass and nothing else. The rice was mushy indicating that it wasn’t cooked properly. The portion was so small 😩. We spent so much money at this place only to end up ordering food from Applebees and drinking at a local bar. Do not recommend.. not worth the hype. Don’t let the fancy smoke drinks fool you.

Absolutely love it here! It’s truly a gem on the mount. Excellent and creative cocktail menu that rotates. When we came most recently, all the cocktails were dessert themed. The food menu also has a nice selection and is quite tasty. Friendly bartenders and a good vibe. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for a good drink!

We came up to the summit to enjoy the sunset and have a cocktail. We loved the summit, and the service is excellent. Such a cool vibe here, like a corner spot that locals hang out.

Can’t say enough nice things about The Summit! The drinks are top notch! Great craft cocktail bar where the mixologists are genuinely dedicated to their craft and care deeply about the end product. The results are clear…a great drink. If you want a great cocktail and are in Pittsburgh, stop by The Summit.

Jordan is the best bartender! This girl was BUSY, she just never stopped the whole time we were there, and still, our drinks were quick and perfect. The food is a huge step up from your run-of-the-mill bar food! We can't wait to come back!

The Summit is a hidden gem on Mt. Washington but it’s a destination all on its own. Whether it’s their food or drinks, the Summit delivers. All of their offerings are craft and beyond creative. Happy hour is a great deal, but whatever the occasion, the Summit will not disappoint.

Fantastic open air (in season) bar and tapas. Interesting cocktails and bartenders, Jordan is super sweet and absolute joy. Good beers and wines. Very nice and enjoyable.

My wife and i walked to The Summit from a terrible dinner at Coughlin’s Law and we were shocked at how cool and quaint this place was. We just had drinks but the atmosphere was awesome. Staff was so nice. Definitely recommend !!

What a great hidden gem. We couldn’t even find the place initially so it’s kinda of a speakeasy if you like that term. The bartender was so nice and made us a custom cocktail that was delicious. The pricing is very very reasonable compared to what you get at a restaurant. I would highly recommend this place and will def be back.

Fantastic cocktails! Have an egg and dairy allergy, and they reworked an espresso martini to work for me!! Our server, Phil, was great and really fun to chat with. Absolutely will be back for more!!!

Such a cool find! We really enjoyed our visit here. I got the Three Ex Wines and it was very delicious! My husband got a Sazerac, he liked it, but it was a prime heavy on the absinthe. Small & intimate bar. Staff was attentive. Definitely would have had more of a speakeasy vibe of the door was shut but the boarded up windows did give it a "hidden" feel. Would come back if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.

My wife and I loved our first visit here over the weekend. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service and drinks at the bar were amazing! The staff really know their spirits, and the delicious drinks are fun to watch being built. We will certainly be returning, hopefully soon.

Great find!! Looks like a hole in the wall place, but once inside you're treated to a superb cocktail experience! Pat & Shane were fun to visit with and crafted some delicious cocktails for us on a rainy Monday afternoon! Wish we had found this place before our last day in town! They also have us excellent recommendations for eating in the area too, which we took their advice and had a fabulous dinner across town! All in all this is a stop with making, even if you have to go out of your way. It may not look like much from the outside but you won't be sorry stopping at this very cool bar with a distinct prohibition vibe and craft cocktail-loving mixologists!🍸🍻🥃🫶

Acacia has absolutely fantastic cocktails and the bartenders making them are superb and highly professional in their craft. The atmosphere is somehow both spirited and intimate. The music they play is also a solid vibe.

Great spot in our neighborhood for outdoor bistro style dining. Hearty Salad with Crab Cakes provides a light summertime meal. So good I came back two nights in a row. The 2nd night my husband ordered the French Onion soup and loved it.

Butterjoint is a restaurant that deserves my highest recommendations 🤩. I do not say this lightly but it may have been the best “thick” burger I’ve had in my entire life🫢. The burger was extraordinarily juicy, yet still charred and crisp on the outside 😫. The quality of meat was stupendous 🥩, and the bun was made in the bakery next door👨‍🍳. The pierogies were certainly “Pittsburgh style”, but done exceptionally well😍. For dessert we had vinegar pie, which while sounding odd, was the best pie I’ve had in my life 🥧. It was a sweet tangy pie with a crystallized custard filling served with homemade ice cream🍨. All of the dishes were recommended by our waiter, Brennan, who was a kind young man 🙏. He welcomed us to the restaurant and embraced Pittsburgh’s culture with his recommendations👁️‍🗨️. I cannot put into words how much I love this restaurant. 6, maybe 7 out of 5 stars 🌟

A girlfriend and I stopped here before attending the author series featuring Elizabeth Gilbert a short walk to the Carnegie. Sat outside and enjoyed the lovely evening. The food was fantastic. She had moules frites and I tried the shredded goat. All delicious. Our server sweet adorable and efficient. A great night out in Oakland!!

Beautifully decorated, whimsical wallpaper, fantastic service and delicious food! They had a bartender's choice drink where you don't know what you're getting! My wife particularly loved the peppered shrimp appetizer. The rolls were amazing as was the goat cheese crustini. Malcolm, our waiter, mentioned they are known for the pierogis and the burger. Both were fantastic. The desserts were unique and made on premise: a flan with pecan brittle; and a vinegar pie - described as an apple pie without the apples that tastes like a key lime pie! So great!

Been here a few times and the food is always on point. I haven't had anything less than great, but everything under the sandwich menu category is particularly outstanding. During our last visit, there were a few fries that were hard and tasted stale, but not a huge deal. Service has been generally okay, however there have been a few times where our server forgot to check in on us or forgot to put in our order. Most of the appetizers are good, but the small portion sizes make them not worth the cost, personally. The cocktails are expensive but strong and very tasty. Overall, the sandwiches, especially the Jamaican Pulled Goat, are good enough to keep me coming back.

I love this place so much that I come here at least once a month. I usually get the veggie burger (comes with a side of fries). The brioche bun is made in house at their bakery next door and it holds everything together perfectly. The veggie patty is my fave part; the owner said they tried many iterations of this burger until it was perfect, and it shows. I brought my family here when they came to visit and they also loved it. :) They tried the salads, burger, and beer --everything was great.

5 stars doesn't even begin to cover it! We had a large work event that we hosted here today, despite none of our staff ever having been. Tim was an absolute pleasure to work with, took time to curate a menu that showcased their great food and still accommodated our guests dietary allergies and preferences. Our server, Rachel, was exceptional. Prompt, friendly, communicative, and caring. Every single one of our guests was so impressed with her calm demeanor, and especially the speed of service. We had been to another local restaurant a few days prior with the same group that took nearly 3 hours for everyone to be served. We simply cannot wait to bring our next group event here, and plan to try it out as a new happy hour spot for our team!

Delicious, authentic, cozy spot for affordable amaros and cocktails. Incredible selection of grappas and amaros, if you’re not sure what to get ask the bartender for recs! Ours was incredibly accommodating and helpful. Recommend hitting Piccolo Forno and then swinging through for post-dinner digestifs

Grapperia is my go to spot in Lawrenceville. The cocktails are always excellent, and Rich is a great bartender . It’s the best local hangout for a good drink. No food, but Piccolo Forno is next door and usually food trucks at 11th hour.

A new experience for our group. Took the plunge and got 3 grappa's, but couldn't tell you anything about one over another, except they definitely are 10/10 on the hard core scale. Regardless, cozy spot with our the door wine for sister restaurant around the corner.

Great wine bar with huge selections on grappa and digestifs. Also have a decent selection on bottled beers and a full bar if wine isn't your thing. Couple food items such as cheese plate, cured meats, etc. The food is more of a pairing with your drinks rather to get you full so travel elsewhere for more substance. Bartenders were all knowledgeable and very upbeat and fun. This is our perfect place to just unwind, hanging out with a small group, or a date night stop. Interior of the place is cozy and relaxing. The volume of the restaurant wasn't too loud. Can easily hold a conversation without yelling.

Oh, gosh, what is there to say about Apteka other than it’s phenomenal. The food, service, and atmosphere combined give you a real, elevated dining experience. Love the concept of creating plant based versions of Eastern European food. The menu changes regularly so there’s always a reason to stop in and check out the latest additions to the menu. This is easily my favorite spot for dinner in Pittsburgh and it rarely disappoints. I have and will continue to recommend this place to anyone in the city.

I dined at Apteka tonight and can honestly say it was one of the best Dining experiences I’ve had in Pittsburgh in years! The food is exceptionally good, flavorful, creative, and beautifully prepared. The taste and quality would wow anyone! I’m vegan but my family is not and they weren’t sure if they would like it. They ended up, loving every bite. Service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Whether you’re vegan or not, Apteka is a must visit. I can’t wait to go back!

First experience at a vegan restaurant, first vegan experience in my life. Easily some of the best of pierogies in Pittsburgh. Fried to perfection and served with delicious cabbage and a dollop of cream. The dumplings and are amazing and the dessert is incredible. Fantastic assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Amazing service. Make sure to come about 15 mins before opening.

I have been waiting to come here for a long time and finally made it. First off gotta get there early because there will be a line. Appetizer was very good hot buns with wax beans. Very good! Both main dinners were amazing. Also the hot tea was earthy lol. The food was all I could of ask for. But then the mess with my dessert happen. When we were done eating we ask for the desert. Waited 10 minutes and ask again the man at hostess stand ask and went to kitchen. I Waited 10 mins more went to bar and ask them and I was told it was on its way. Then the man at hostess stand ask again and I said we still haven't got it and he went to kitchen again. So at the end of the day I never got my dessert and a man working there told me when I ask that I wanted my money back that he's just trying to make me happy and I should of ask for the dessert. I told him I ask 3 times so that was not the way I wanted this to go but it did.

Holy wow. One of the best meals I have had in quite a long time. The pickle platter was a great starter, the double “cream” garlic scrape dip was awesome. The cutlet platter was huge and fantastic. Even my daughter who hates beets, love the beet side dish. Only regret is that we were way too full to eat dessert.

The food at Apteka was to die for!!! Some of the best if not -the- best vegan food I’ve ever had. Service and ordering system was a bit chaotic but I’m more than willing to overlook it given the quality and uniqueness of all the dishes we tried.

Had a lot of fun checking this bar out. Very iconic Pittsburgh dive bar. The red light ambiance in the bar is very unique. Beer prices are very reasonable. They have wings available, which, in my opinion, were excellent. Several drink specials are available and 24oz Coronas are $6 which is pretty cool. I will definitely be back here again! This is a smoking bar, so if you don't like that, go to Applebees.

The dive bar of my dreams. This place has it all. Smoking, live music, great food. Tim the bartender is amazing. The beer was cheap and cold and the service was fast and friendly. Drove 7 hours from Canada to go to Gooski’s and it did not disappoint.

If you are looking for a traditional dive bar with an eclectic blend of customers, this is the place! The bartenders are friendly and efficient, even in a crowd. Live music and games to play in the back add to the fun environment. Only one bathroom for the women, which can sometimes cause delays but otherwise no complaints. The wings are really good and decent prices on food and drinks.

Dive dive dive. Perfect dive bar feel. Jukebox was old and lovely with great options. Bars in a pretty residential area. Smoking inside, beers in cans and seating in the front window. It’s very divey, beer and cig vibes. Pool table in the back, bartender was an older chill guy with a badass attitude.

Visited twice. The best wings I've ever ate, and I'm not a wing guy. They also give you a load of fries or tots. Drinks are good. This will be my go to in Pittsburgh. Good dive bar

Where else in town can you smoke a pack of cigs that came out of a retro machine... drink cheap beer and eat the largest chicken wings I've ever seen in my life? Also you're technically allowed to graffiti in the bathrooms, just don't write on the pinball machine. The jukebox is really cool too. I won't be back for personal reasons but I liked sitting in this bar even when I stopped drinking, it was cool to see everyone else having fun. The BBQ wings are seriously delicious (why are they so big??? Not complaining just impressed) and there are always weird movies playing on TV, and they write a fun little quote on the chalkboard daily which was honestly my favorite part. It's gross in a good way 🩷

My sister had an event held here and it was perfect for a small event (20-60 people). The atmosphere is very clean and green aesthetic. Would definitely recommend. The owner came up with a personalized drink menu and was so great in helping us get everything figured out.

This is a very hip spot in a vibrant neighborhood. We enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere, though we were disappointed to realize they don’t have a full food menu. The white bean dip was a good appetizer to satisfy us until we could find dinner elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit, but not on an empty stomach.

Drinks are always very good here but the bartender Erin knocked it out of the park. We ordered three “Bartender’s Choice” each (six total) and each one was somehow better than the last. They have some unique ingredients (like tomato gin) and she paired them so well. I don’t have a single point of criticism. These were probably the best drinks I’ve ever had. I wish I could have had more LOL. Also they are always very nice there.

These folks are doing some fantastic work with their cocktails. Great flavors, great creativity. Staff is also fantastic. Enjoyed my brief conversations with them around current menu and my particular off-menu order. 5/5 would cuss respectfully at the bartender again.

Great meatballs, very tasty. Somehow food came faster than cocktails, service can be improved. Indoor dining area is too hot, restroom temperature is way lower than the dining area, which doesn’t quite make sense.

I was impressed by the speed in which our meal was served. We had less than an hour until an improv show and I got a chicken sandwich, which was pretty decent. Decor was lovely, I hope next time that the roof deck is open next time!

My mother is visiting from out of state and found this place while searching the map for Italian dinner spots. We came here on a whim and had one of the loveliest dinners we can remember as a mother/daughter duo. Our server, Jacob, was fantastic. He provided warm, friendly, charismatic service and was eager to answer all of our questions about the menu and plates. Not only was Jacob our server, but also the bartender and the cocktails were fab-u-us!! You can NOT go wrong with the charcuterie board which has rotating selections daily, the entrees are very fairly priced for quality and quantity. I ordered cannolis on a whim (there’s a whole family lore behind why I don’t eat cannolis) and you know what… I think after 30 years, I love cannolis again. To the entire staff- thank you for a fantastic evening! We loved it, and went home stuffed and happy.

So yummy! My sister got the stuffed shells and I got the shrimp vodka pasta and we had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer! The rooftop bar upstairs, il tetto, is beautiful and such a vibe on a summer afternoon!

meat ball is tough to cut into. pasta is very overcooked. For the price, the food quality is below bar. The vibes were nice as this place has a roof top and is located in the cultural district. The cars that pass by do leave fumes that make the outdoors experience non-ideal.

There was a leak because of the rain so we sat on the 1st floor. Atmosphere and decor wasn't what I expected but it was ok. Our waiter who never gave us his name was great and very personable so we overlooked not knowing his name. It was very busy. I had the matcha coloda, and it was delicious. The food was the problem. The fried calamari was soft and greasy but ok. We ordered the same bowl but with different pasta. It was greasy, and the meat sauce wasn't actually sauce. It was just ground beef. So, having greasy ground beef with our meatballs was disappointing. The Cesar salad was very Red Lobster like. Would I return? Yes, to experience the rooftop for drinks. I wouldn't order food though.

Meatballs were fun and a bit spicy, loved them! Pizza was crispy, another win. Charcuterie board was worth an order. 👍

Great restaurant! The decor is wonderfully cozy and warm. There are oil lanterns at each table and amazing antique fixtures and glasses. The drinks are whiskey based and amazing, especially from the upper bar; it has it’s own menu. The food was equally amazing; we had scallops and rabbit and Dirty Pasta. We ended with apple bread pudding. It was good. You won’t be disappointed.

This place had a great ambiance. Awesome smells of the wood fire. Great Menu and even better food. We stopped here after seeing the best football team in the world play at Heinz Stadium. The New England Patriots.

There were some very good things happening on the menu. Especially if you're not squeamish. If you're adventurous or not put off by the names of food, get the goat neck. It's fantastic. Tons of scotch options and some delicious brussel sprouts made this a great trip along with a very good wait staff.

Just down the street from the Renaissance hotel is this justly gastropub experience. Some few outdoor seating options, and seems like they have 2 level indoor seating. The bar is a beautiful amber lit setup with bottles going up, up, up, with a lovely sliding ladder. The bartenders when I visited seemed to be extremely courteous and great at engaging customers. I had no idea what cocktail to try. He asked what type of liquor I liked and from there gave me a delicious cocktail minutes after. Their oxtail burger is delicious with a tender patty, caramelized onions, fluffy bun and great fries. I highly recommend it should you visit. I would definitely come back.

Part whisky bar part restaurant Butcher had a great atmosphere. There was a wall of various whisky bottles some were hard to find. They also various specialized cocktails. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a drink. I enjoyed the meal as well. The place reminded me of a bar you would find in Manhattan.

Good food. Very American. Could easily get a star but not on the route. Duck liver, lamb neck with ricotta were great. Lived the tartare too. Great whisky bar. Very friendly staff. Pittsburgh is a cool town.

Super good! Second time back and it was even better this time! Had Brussels app which was fantastic and the Sunday gravy which was perfect! Mains courses were great and the drinks rocked! Our waitress was super friendly but not over pushy. Her recommendations were on point!

Food is awesome. I’ve tried the fish and chips and love them. This evening I had the cottage pie and it was out of this world along with their bread pudding. Piper’s I will continue to come back.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch. Got a traditional style Irish breakfast. Yorkshire pudding was amazing. Beans, eggs, sausage, mushroom all on Yorkshire pudding. The service was fast and the food came out quick despite a full restaurant. The soccer game was playing and there was multiple TVs offering easy views for the game. We sat in the back near the kitchen. Food was amazing.

It was our first visit of many. We just moved back to PA from San Diego and we’re looking for a great, traditional English breakfast and this is it. Nice atmosphere, servers were unbelievably friendly and the brunch was fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed those Heinz beans and the bangers!

Pipers Pub serves an amazing Full English breakfast. Everything was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The made in house banger sausage was the star, full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and great presentation.

Love Piper's. Best place for Scotch eggs and many other authentic comfort dishes from UK, along with the classic American foods.

My wife and I stopped in here for dinner when in town for a Cubs/Pirates match-up. Place really has a "local establishment" feel to it. Felt really at home here. Service was great and the food was very good. I goth the Shepard's pie and my wife got a wrap. Will/Would definitely return if in town once again. If we lived in the greater Pittsburgh are this would be one of our regular stops.

Excellent service. Staff is very attentive. Great atmosphere. The food and mixed drinks were really good & reasonably priced. It was my first time here, and I will definitely be back. This is an independent restaurant that takes pride in what they do.

I used to like this place but went last night. The smell was awful. There is some type of sewage problem they need to fix. I thought it was just funky stale beer but it was worse. I post this only in hopes that they fix it soon. I’ll never go back till that smell is gone. Had to leave after one drink.

So nice we had to stop by twice! We were staying in the area and came in for a quick pint. The servers were very nice and service was quick. They were playing really good psych rock music too. We had such a positive experience we came back for dinner that night and were not disappointed! My boyfriend was extremely pleased with the fish and chips. Got stuck in Pittsburgh for the night and this place was the delicious version of when life gives you lemons... Get a delightful cocktail with the an incredibly delicious jackfruit dish, beautiful music and super coordial staff. What a treat.

Swanky. Intimate. Enchanting. In my pursuit for Pittsburgh restaurants with impressive atmospheres, Con Alma soulfully delivers. When you walk in, you're greeted with a bar to your left, and an intimate dining room positioned against a stage for live music. Dimly lit with neon accent lights, the space transports you to an urban utopia that simply put, is enchanting. I felt no longer in Pittsburgh, rather in a dream. The menu is concise, refined, and inventive. Con Alma is a fusion of Latin American, and Caribbean cuisine, complimentary with Jazz music. We ordered ROPA VIEJA, a braised short rib dish paired with rice and beans, along with the LOMO SALTADO, a Peruvian beef stir fry. Both dishes offer complex flavors that leave you inspired. Each dish had a flavor profile that was delicate and seemed to evolve with each bite. The portions were dare I say, too much? The LOMO SALTADO seemed bottomless. We eagerly asked for a doggie bag. The service was spectacular. Charismatic, charming, and attentive staff effortless blended into the experience. The service enhanced the experience and made you feel like a priority. After ordering, it was no longer than 10 minutes and we were eating. A few things to keep in mind, during live music there is a ten-dollar charge per guest. Con Alma is not just a bar, restaurant, or music venue, it is a combination of the three which is truly an experience, and worth the fee. The menu could be on the pricier side, however, keep in mind the portion sizes along with the atmosphere make this not just a restaurant, but a valuable experience. I look forward to returning with guests to impress. Con Alma is a place your friends, family, and special someone will never forget.

Our server was spectacular and the food was delicious. We ended up have 3 full courses, a bottle of wine and two coctail. I would however say that the host left a lot to be desired. I fact we almost left because of her pretentious attitude. We were in shorts and maybe a tad underdressed but nothinh too crazy. That said dinner was $300. So be prepared that this is not a budget conscious place. All it all it was a nice evening. We would have enjoyed it better if we were inside. I highly recommend that you sit inside, so make reservations. Outside was just way too hot and out table was so wobbly that the server moved us, as the wine almost fell on the ground due to the table issue. That said out server Paul was outstanding and his recommendations made the evening (spot on, especially the pairings).

The live jazz tonight and every Tuesday night. The atmosphere was perfect I set up front at a table. I ordered the salmon and I forgot I left my food there, I'm so disappointed it was so delicious. The hostess that sat us was very kind polite and great at her job. The food was over $30 and well worth it the jam session that they had tonight was on point, the young people that they brought up on stage to jam with God bless them. I'm so happy about our future with the Jazz if these young people are our future!

The staff are awesome and so accommodating! The music was so fun, we loved the ambiance. We ordered drinks and apps and thoroughly enjoyed the apple cider margarita and scallops with creamed spinach. Now, for the unfortunate downside— the entrees. If you read other reviews, you will notice a trend. The entrees simply are not that good. Overpriced, overcooked, under seasoned, odd flavor profiles, unbalanced. We got the short rib with plantains and rice/beans. It was literally plain white rice, burnt beans, and then everything was covered in tomato sauce— it tasted like chili but was supposed to be Caribbean? Also ordered the coconut seabass and it was fried so hard that I couldn’t even cut it with my knife. Once I was able to break through, it tasted like burnt nothingness. I would eat elsewhere and come back to enjoy music and drinks only. I hope they consider perfecting their culinary techniques and menu so that the food can be less hit or miss.

Great ambience and live jazz music, one of the best spots in the city for that! We really enjoyed our cocktails and the app. The drink menu is extensive and quite unique. Our entrées were disappointing, however, seriously lacking flavor, quality and presentation. Both dishes were frankly worse than what you'd expect from a cheap takeout kitchen. They were out of snapper and another item, which we only found out when placing our orders, rather than at the very beginning. Other than that, the service was good.

Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation and had a wonderful time. We had to wait a little while for a table but nothing major, the club was packed but we managed to get two seats at the bar. After a short wait our table was available and we were seated. Food was delicious, the red snapper was excellent and the portions are not small. Music was amazing as well and not so loud that you could not talk. Loved the drink menu and would definitely come back next time I am in Pittsburgh.

Really good pierogies! 10 for $10 classic cheese and potato pierogies, perfect for two people and delicious. The drinks were crazy strong though. We had one drink and were blasted (I had like 3 sips of mine). If you can handle your booze, def get going to Kelly's - if you're a lightweight like us, maybe share a drink or get something from a bottle like a cider 🥴

We visited in September 2024 and raved about this place, from the food to the service to the vibe. We were so excited to stop on this time, only to be majorly let down. Like other reviews have stated, the service was lackluster. Much of our food was overcooked and burned. The male server was curt and said it’s how it’s suppose to be, but that’s not how it’s been in the last. We brought friends to show this place off and our whole table left disappointed. Unfortunately we will likely not recommend this place in the future.

Surprisingly the first time I was ever here .. great little dive bar! Great prices, and I was told they have very good food. A guy came in ordering a Reuben, said it is the heat around. Such a cool dive bar with an impressive menu, beer options, drink options, and a handful of vegan options! My husband and I actually met here back in 2022 and we come back on the same day every year and sit in the same booth to celebrate and remember how special it is.

Kelly’s is exactly what I want in a neighborhood bar. It’s small. It’s dark. There is one side which hosts a massive rail and other intimate booths which run parallel. The music was on point all evening. We came after a Pirates game and it was slammed, after waiting for five minutes we got a table. The food here is homey. Massive portions and definitely proper pub food. Went with the fish sandwich, Cajun meatloaf and Mac and cheese. The fish sandwich is massive. It needs sauce, so make sure to coat the boat in provided tarter. The meatloaf had a nice kick and was smothered in perfectly cooked onions. The Mac and cheese was good, albeit not the most amazing and didn’t live up to the hype for me. I would, however, order it again. If you’re looking for a cool spot in a gentrified neighborhood, Kelly’s is your go-to.

Great place I loved it, it is small and dark, I like the red lights. Staff was great. I spent most of my time out on the back deck during happy hour. Great food there was this grilled cheese appetizer that came with olives, it was amazing, I have never ate that before. Happy hour had cheap drinks, libations all a around. Would definitely go back!!!

This place is home to the best Cosmopolitan I have ever had the pleasure of tasting! The decor is super cute and charming and we absolutely loved the Hot Stuff disco night. There is an upstairs area where the disco was, which we didn't realize at first so we had to ask- everyone who works there is so friendly and we had a fantastic time.

Cute, hip spot for drinks with friends! The interior was nothing like I've seen before. Drinks were strong and tasty. 99% of the clientele looked like they were straight from Portlandia. Even though we're not hipsters, we still felt like we fit right in and had a great time!

Brillobox's Sunday vegetarian dinner has been on my list for awhile and I was finally able to make it a couple of weekends ago. They had just unveiled their spring cocktails menu that night as well as their spring decorations and I just couldn't get enough of how pretty their spring decor is! The huge bough of blossoms over the bar area is absolutely gorgeous and makes for an interesting contrast with the rest of the room. I ordered the guava margarita - ok, a tad on the sweeter side for me. I'dv preferred salt on the rim and kind of assumed it'd come that way but it didn't, so if you're like me and like salt-rimmed margaritas, remember to ask! They also didn't have a couple items on their drinks list that day which I found wierd because their social media post invited people to come check out their new spring drinks menu. For the food, I ordered the Seitan wings which were hard, chewy and I think overdone). Totally skip Seitan wings here. I also got their veggie dinner dish, which that day, was curry flavored rice with vegetable pakodas (which is batter fried fritters). The pakodas were excellent but the rice was quite flavorless and bland. I wish we could've just gotten another portion of just the pakodas!! I'm also not sure that the crispy pakodas and rice which is quite dry go together as a combination. The rice definitely needed a sauce or something that could offset its dryness. I get the feeling that their Sunday dinner can be hit or miss. But they only reveal the dish a couple of hours before they open and you're going to have to take that chance if you want to try it. Brillobox often also hosts a lot of music events which seem like a lot of fun and could perhaps make up for the food being so-so. I'm going to give Brillobox one more shot before I make up my mind.

Food here is delicious! I got a buger that was extremely flavorful. My friend got tacos that she throughly enjoyed and we shared the brussel sprout appetizer. Service was slightly lacking. We would have ordered more to drink, but they took a long time to check in on us. And normally I'd chalk this up to the server being busy with other patrons, but the restaurant was very empty at the time we were there. also was a large amount of servers standing behind the bar majority of the time. Otherwise the service was friendly and food was great. The view and interior was gorgeous.

Came with a large group & we were told we could be accommodated without reservations. We were able to all sit together but the service was not the best. I will say it was very busy on the outside and inside which could have been a factor but still not an excuse..we had to order all of our drinks and food at the bar. Half of our group didn’t get to order anything because the kitchen was so backed up and stopped taking orders. Menu needs updated some items are incorrect & weren’t mentioned when you ordered them. It is a nice place and good views but they really need more staff. Barely anyone at the bar to take orders and we were told only 2 people were working in the kitchen. I’m not sure if it’s always like this during busier times but they really needed some help. The food I did receive was good, no complaints about that. The service again could have been better. Someone in our group had to go get us water & straws etc. I get it’s busy but there definitely needs to be more staff if your guests are the ones basically serving ourselves. They didn’t seem prepared for the large crowd inside and out. Hopefully things get better because it really is a nice space.

Have all the ingredients to be the best spot in Lawrenceville, but fighting against being successful. Amazing views and food, but doesn't do much good when the servers cannot bring your order to you and take forever to acknowledge our table and take our order. We ordered 3 drinks but only got 1. I try to celebrate and support this restaurant but they make it so hard.

I didnt get anything food, so I cannot comment on the quality, but I imagine its typical bar food. The view from the deck is an immaculate overlook of the Pittsburgh skyline, especially at night. The service is quick and friendly This is an upscale establishment, so the drink selection is somewhat limited for alcohol. Highly recommend for a special event.

Bartender was super rude and started throwing stuff at her coworker. She slammed by beer glass down and cracked the glass the entire way around. Crispy beer and a nice view but I could get that else where. Not motivated to return

The views were great! There were a lot of children running around screaming for a birthday party which took away from the experience, but might not be the usual and we just got unlucky with timing. However, the food was sub-par at best. I had the steak frites and asked to cook the steak to medium rare. It wasn’t even close and came out medium-well with a quarter inch gray band around. You can get a better steak at Texas Roadhouse.

This was my husband's pick for dinner tonight. He's a big beer expert, having tasted over 1,200 different beers in about 9 countries, so he wanted to sample the beers here. First impression, the space is fantastic and I love the restoration. Service was also very good! From the beer expert - the porter was not as smooth and velvety as he expected and because of the high alcohol content, the flavour was off. The IPA got good marks though. The food was good, but not great. Overall a decent place to come especially for the atmosphere.

This was our very last stop of our trip and was unexpected. I got a last minute text from a friend saying we couldnt miss this and I agree! The building is stunning. They did a wonderful job maintaining the gorgeous architecture but turning into something more positive and useful. The food was some of the best we had on the trip. Ill dream about that beer cheese. We had the Mexicali Blues and it was light snd fabulous. Waitstaff was wonderful. Theres a gift shop. Prices are great.

I was excited to try out this restaurant based on it use to be a church. The fact that they saved a church from being torn down by turning into a restaurant was a great idea. There were many items that caught my attention. I ordered prickly pear iced tea with the Jagerschnitzel. I should’ve ordered the vegan spaghetti. I was not completely happy with my choice. The cook was very heavy with the salt on the potatoes, I don’t like a lot of salt. The Jagerschnitzel did not have consistency. The first couple bites was really good tasting with the mushroom sauce. After the first few bites, it tasted like regular gravy on top and was not as good. The waitress was nice.

Amazing brewery inside a former church! It's perfectly repurposed and so much fun. Service is excellent, food is superb (French onion soup is a must have!) and the beer, oh my, so great. We ended up buying a big can of the Oktoberfest beer. The can itself makes a wonderful souvenir.

Amazing venue in this old deconsecrated Catholic Church. Beer is very good but selection is a little light. Oktoberfest beer is top notch. That have 2 liter to go cans that are a great deal. Food is very good and what sets this place apart from other microbrews even more so than the beer.

Great German Inspired cuisine and brews for Oktoberfest. The Bavarian Wings were a fantastic appetizer and highly recommend.... The hint of mustard kicks them up a notch. Forewarned they are messy!!! Definitely was unexpected little find for us and had to check out a brewery in a church. 'Cause when else are you going to be able to drink in a church and not get in trouble for it?!?!?

Lafty of 3, ordered: shrimp grits, buffalo chicken perogie saute, and Jagerschnitzel. And beer of course! Oh also malt bread pudding! Grits was a bit on the saltier side but was good w beer. Perogies were flavorful but our favorite was the jagerschnitzel. The atmosphere is unique and service was okay, bit slow - i guess the waitor had a lot of space to cover. It's pricy compared to other local places but a must go to experience something unique in Pittsburgh! =)

Amazing food and great service. We had a great dinner with the Munich sampler, the bratwurst chili, the pork shank, and kids menu of schnitzel and mini corndogs. Hubby had the beer on tap and enjoyed every bite and drink. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a chill dinner in a large dining hall. Noise level was medium/high but they also have a pretty patio area. They carry Pepsi products for those who are particular about their soda

A nice German-style tavern. Lot's of room even for larger parties. The beer was good, but the food could have been better. The quality of the sausage meat & spices was not of the highest caliber. It was still decent though and the sauerkraut was very good.

Came here during Oktoberfest event. It was great! Tasty food and beer. Friendly staff and patrons. Outdoor seating was nice too!

I'm knocking on star off because our table was very dark, made it hard to even read the menus. But overall, great experience, would definitely go again.

I firstly want to start off by saying- Our server Bobby was such a delight! He was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The whole staff seemed well coordinated and friendly/welcoming. The atmosphere is dim lit with great music choice. The food was delicious! Easily accommodated 4 people. I will be back. Once again, thank you to our server Bobby.

Unable to get reservations days in advance, instead we arrived early (5PM) and were easily able to get a nice table for six. While a smaller restaurant it was a popular spot so not quiet but conversation was still easy. Plenty of staff and very attentive to our needs. Food all looked wonderful. Started with some nice oysters on the half shell, cold and tasty - I found the hot sauce very hot, be careful ! My short rib was fantastic and the sides complemented the main. I’m not crazy about squash but the purée was spectacular ! Nice dessert menu but most of us went for the Eleven Grand Bar , the obvious choice for those who like chocolate. Highly recommended.

Where to start? From the moment we walked through the doors and before we were welcomed with such an unbelievably friendly staff, from the valets, the hostess, servers and everyone in between. (The valets were exceptionally accommodating) The food was excellent! I had the seafood sampler and my husband had the swordfish. The desserts… The presentation was impressive to say the least. But tasted even better. The attention to detail, compliments to the pastry chef! The atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely return and recommend.

We had dinner here on 10/08/2025, we felt welcomed from the time we walked in the door. We had a glass of wine waiting for our table, it was happy hour. Prices were what you would expect for fine dining. Makayla our server was fabulous she took very good care of us, I ask for suggestions and she was spot on. She was very friendly and was there literally 10 seconds before we needed her. Food was amazing

It's a beautiful property with incredible wine, dishes, and a comfortable atmosphere. Our server rushed us through the experience which was disappointing, but otherwise, we'll be worth the vist! Enjoy.

Food was not just great it was fantastic. I showed up around 8:45 (closes at 9) I was accommodated by the hostess. I had Fresh bread, charcuterie, and whole trout beautiful presentation by the chefs. Anastasia my server has a great personality and was a pleasure to talk too. The ambience was not overwhelming. Overall, very enjoyable.

Very cozy place, interesting vibe, low lighting. Food was very good and there were a lot of interesting options. The raw scallop was a surprise favorite. Service was generally pretty good, but there were somewhat large gaps between visits from the waitress which did lead to waiting to order new drinks and get refills on water. It was not overly busy, but maybe half the seats were full on a Saturday night, fairly late.

Exquisite service and food at Morcilla pittsburgh. The creativity of the menu, to my mind, makes Morcilla one of the best in greater Pittsburgh. The chef and team deserve a Michelin star. Bravo Bravissimo Michael & Hanna

It's a cozy space, dark, and intimate. The dishes are like tapas style to me. There are 3 large plates, entree selection. We had the ribs, although good, the pork ribs shouldnt cost $30 for 4 pork ribs. Oxtail on bread was good but only 2 pieces. The octopus was sooooo good. The chicken entree with the rice was very very good. In all, well crafted food but the cocktail menu lacks sophistication. Not all of us drink basic. And you would certainly not expect basic with the food menu that accompanies it. I would certainly go back, but could you guys up your cocktail menu? Please.

We started with the oxtail and fried artichokes from the snacks menu—both were incredible. Then came the ribs: phenomenal. But the standout for me was the large plate of chicken and rice—absolutely divine. Every dish was bursting with flavor and executed with thoughtfulness and precision. We ended on a sweet note with the churros, which did not disappoint. The vibe? Low lighting (if that matters to you)—but it adds to the romantic mood. Your eyes adjust. It’s very hip, very trendy, and just cool. I had a non-alcoholic pineapple drink (last on the drink menu), and it was so good I ordered a second. The whole experience felt almost spiritual—each bite better than the last. As someone who’s binged every season of The Bear, I could tell this place runs on heart, hustle, and serious culinary skill. Our server was warm and attentive, and the whole team worked together seamlessly. Morcilla is a gem. Just wow.

Pretty mediocre experience. Everything was utterly underwhelming and drenched in oil. We tried assortment of tapas dishes, and neither stood out, all I tasted was oil. The octopus and the oxtail perhaps were the nicest ones (still drenched in oil). However, worst part was the main dish, not sure how is that possible but the chicken and bed of rice were so so salty that it was almost bitter. I have never tasted something that salty, and I even asked the waiters and seems like that’s how it should be. Almost inedible!! It would’ve been a great dish if it wasn’t for the salt. Overall, nothing stood out that I can recommend.

My wife and I loved our experience at Morcilla the other night. Service was quick and attentive. Ambience was perfect for a dinner date. We thought the Squash and Trout dishes were stellar. We also liked the Beef Tartare, Oxtail Baguettes, and Baby Back Ribs. The Goat Flan was super delicious as well. Can’t wait to return and try different items.

Simply amazing and authentic Hungarian food! We got chicken Paprikas and Puszta steak. So yummy and different if you haven’t tried this type of cuisine before. The personal touch was that the owner took time to talk to us and was very friendly. Definitely try this one out!

I can’t even describe the joy I felt when I discovered a Hungarian restaurant in Pittsburgh. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for proper, healthy, and delicious food. 10/10. Important: Parking is available in front of and behind the restaurant, free of charge for up to 2 hours.

What a lovely little restaurant with great comfort food. I brought my family after visiting nearby Allegheny General hospital which was only a few blocks away. We had a wonderful little feast with everyone sharing a bit of their entrees. I ordered the Magyar Schnitzel which was delicious. It was lightly breaded and the mushroom sauce and dumplings were such a treat. Overall, it is worth a stop if you are craving a locally prepared comfort meal.

My dad's grandparents come from Hungary, so he has been wanting to try this little place for a long time and we finally got to stop in today. The food, atmosphere, and owners were just great. The food is what my dad grew up on and he was so happy with everything. We tried some things that were familiar and some not so familiar, and everything was delicious. We can't wait to stop back!

I was searching a Hungarian restaurant in Pittsburgh and I found Huszar . Judy and Misi they own the place they were so welcoming and kind. I ordered fried cheese with homemade tartar sauce and gulyas was 5 star feels like I was in Hungary. My dessert was apple studio was delicious. Definitely will come back!

Excellent food, worth a visit! My family recommends the Huszar appetizer platter. The meat, cheese, veggies, fruit and bread were delicious. The sweet kraut on the Hungarian kielbasa was so good. The homemade dumplings with beef tips and gravy was also yummy.

Great view - if you were hoping for good food though - oof. Peek my $18 "Burrata". After a 23 minute wait, I might as well have ran down to the Rite Aid for something out of the frozen section and tried to heat it under a table lamp. Great Ambiance though 👍

Fun rooftop downtown. The drinks were gorgeous and the bartender was very nice! The servers never came to our table, so we just kept going to the bartender.

I guess you are paying for the atmosphere. We got 6 beers and three appetizers for $150! Way overpriced. Thats the $17 buratta salad it was literally four bites…

Drinks were really good with great presentation. Cool atmosphere on a rooftop in the city with table games. Food looked pretty good especially the soft pretzel. The bartender was also really nice!

We had a wonderful time celebrating birthday dinner at this beautiful restaurant. The ambiance is lovely, with a great vibe that makes for a perfect dining experience. We started with Brussels Sprouts, which were incredibly tasty. For mains, we ordered the Ravioli- delicious but on the heavier side and the fusilli pasta, which was okay. We ended the meal with tiramisu which was decent but didn't stand out. What truly elevated the experience, was the outstanding service. Our host was attentive, checked on us frequently and provided great recommendations. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for a nice dinner, and we enjoyed our time there. Would recommend reservation as the place gets busy.

Food took longer than normal as we were the second couple in the restaurant for dinner this evening. I came here about a month ago & food came out much sooner. They like if you order everything at once. Food is very good. Portions are good. Options are good.

Alta Via is easily my third favorite Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh, and I absolutely love it. Every pasta dish I’ve tried has been phenomenal, with the fusilli in vodka sauce being my personal favorite. One thing to note is that some of their pasta dishes don’t come with the traditional red or white sauces, so just be aware of that when you’re ordering. We also tried the chicken parmesan, which comes in a huge portion that’s definitely big enough for two people to share if you’re not looking to order separate entrées. And I have to mention their meatballs—they’re absolutely incredible. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot that’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for Italian!

Visited this location for dinner on a Tuesday. We didn’t have a reservation and were able to be seated right away. It did take a while for anyone to approach our table, but our server was quite friendly. We ordered some cocktails and started with the Caesar salad which was fresh and tasty. He also brought out the housemade focaccia. For entrees, I had the salmon, which was well prepared and had an overall nice flavor with the romesco sauce and accompaniments. My friend had a half portion of the fusilli pasta with vodka sauce and the beans & greens. Pasta was good, but the beans & greens were better! It seemed the menu was still very cold weather focused and I would’ve loved to see some spring dishes! We shared an olive oil cake for dessert, which unfortunately was a bit dry for $13 cake. Overall though a decent meal.

Food was just okay. Nothing special in my opinion. Seating is tight and rather loud atmosphere. Not fine dining nor intimate. Definitely not business class to entertain clients. Felt like the place is trying to be something more but not sure what. Bartender had to look up how to make a simple drinks and seem to take long to get drinks. Had new hostess upon showing up for reservation. Table wasn't ready and she didn't know what to do. Seated ourselves at the bar and had several drinks waiting to be seated, finally had to return to reception area drink in hand to inquire about seating which then two servers realized we were still waiting pulled tables apart and told us to sit at any of the three available. Not a good impression. Waitress was pleasant but appeared taxed with number of tables. Many better options at this price. Disappointed, I would say this restaurant is overrated.

I want to start off by saying I have eaten here many times, including bringing family and friends. Today, was special, for us as a family but Alta Via forgot. We were celebrating my only child's 16th birthday. She chose Alta Via as its her favorite Italian spot. I made reservations. I included in reservations about the birthday. When I sat down I once again reminded our server it was my daughter's 16th birthday. He replied with "I seen!". Food came, was great. We ordered dessert. And nothing. Dessert came out a bit late and no candle - no nothing. I then thought , well maybe he would bring "something" after dessert. Nothing. Unfortunately, he forgot. I get that it happens, but very sad it was on such a special milestone birthday. Needless to say this isn't the spot if you are looking for any birthday recognition. Even when I asked the hostess if they did anything for birthdays her response was "it depends on what kitchen has available " - I said well we ordered (and would gladly pay for) dessert, they could have thrown a candle in it. Especially for the experience you think you would get with this type of restaraunt. Fantastic food and cocktails though. Although I do feel like their portions may have shrunk over the years, could just be me. 🤷‍♀️

Drinks aren’t as cheap as I thought from the reviews. Got charged $10 for an IPA. Make sure you ask the price before you order—there are no prices for drinks on the menu. Servers were cold. Waited 20 minutes for the food. Food and drinks were okay. Overall a mediocre experience.

This is a cool little dive bar we visited while touring Pitt’s campus. I was told it is the place to go for students, so we had to check it out. It’s a nice old school bar with a nice sized bar with booths and tables for groups. We grabbed some pub grub which hit the spot on a hot Saturday afternoon. Their beer list was also good with some nice local craft brews on tap. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out pretty quickly. Definitely a good spot to visit while at Pitt to get the local flavor!

From start to finish, this visit was a masterclass in how not to treat patrons. The bartender was shockingly rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in providing even the bare minimum of service. When I politely asked a question about my meal, she responded with visible irritation and a tone that suggested I was inconveniencing her. She then submitted our food order without even asking which of the three available sides I preferred, and had the audacity to act annoyed when I informed her—after the fact—that I had wanted tater tots with my sandwich. Requests for water were met with complete indifference. We were quite literally ignored. It felt as though asking for basic service was asking too much. The most outrageous part of the evening came as we were settling the bill. The server slid the check back across the bar to my friend and, with breathtaking audacity, said: "You can tip higher than that! We only make $3/hr. Come on man! Do better!" She then rolled her eyes at the rest of us and stormed off. For reference, my friend had already left a 15% tip despite the unacceptable treatment we had all received. To top it all off, the food—when it finally arrived—was cold, bland, and unappetizing. The menus were sticky and clearly unsanitized, adding an extra layer of disgust to an already miserable visit. The entitlement, the gall, the lack of professionalism — this bar has made it astoundingly easy for me to say with complete confidence: I will never set foot in this establishment again. Avoid this place at all costs.

Some really good value deals. Great service from the bar staff. Clean. Felt like a pretty chilled out and safe place. Multiple TVs showing different sports was a plus point for me.

Had no idea what this was about, ordered at the bar, sat at a table, waitress came around and said we can’t sit at a table since we ordered at the bar. The place was 90% empty, but whatever. The cocktail was fine.

Trivia night is fun but the waitress obviously hated us after asking for simple things like water, and brought us our food cold. There was an unstated, mandatory 20% tip to boost.

Stopped here for lunch and the deals were great! Everything for the lunch timeframe on Saturday was $5 except the options in red font. Service was great! The grilled cheese with avocado and spinach was delicious (you have the choice of fries or tater tots)!!

It was nice. Was told it was a 1 hour and 30 minute wait, only ended up being like 15. Ordered the Left field lemonade, it was rather good. Food was good too, ranch dressing/dip was delicious! Quite the experience cooking your own food on a hot stone. Location is great!

Nice steak chop s restaurant with a unique twist on presentation and meal prep They sear your meat and deliver on a 800 degree Lava Stone You finish your steak chop etc on the stone to your liking Fun and enjoyable way to have your steak! Atmosphere is sports bar all the way! The meat steaks and chops were tasty and tender Definitely worth a visit!! Literally across the streets from PNC park Pirates stadium Parking can be a problem!!!

Everything was amazing. The only suggestion would be having a low anxiety steak. Having to pay attention to its cooking period to keep it med rare is kind of stressful. But in a fun way. It's hard to explain, but I def recommend it. The meat pizza ...delicious, delmonico steak on stone...delicious, creme brulee... delicious

4.5 stars. My tavern burger was OK, my wife's salad was great. It's a very cool Pirates themed bar loaded with photos and posters, across the street from the stadium. There were plenty of TVs. The people sitting around us mostly had the steaks on stone which were huge and looked delicious. Draft beers are served in 20 Oz glasses.

I was in town 4 days ... visited this place 4 times. Great bar for a before game drink, other patrons were from all over so great place for chit chat. Beer was cold and food was very good. Suggest trying their signature item - steak cooked on a hot stone.

We absolutely loved this place. Best pork chop ever. Great mashed potatoes. Instead of cutting up his pork chop in bite size pieces as the server said to do, hubby cut it in strips to place back on the hot stone, so nothing was overcooked by the time he got to eating that part. He said it was so tender.

Host helped fit us in 1 hour before our reservation time on a Friday night as we were running early. Server was great. Checked on us a lot and kept my water full. I was accidentally given a house salad instead of caeser. I never would have said anything. Server actually noticed after another person delivered our food and offered to replace it. I didn't want to waste food so kept it. Gave him an extra tip for being so attentive. Earl gray old fashioned: solid drink. Would get again. Pickle focaccia pizza: good. Crust was more thin vs. focaccia, but finished it no problem. Grilled chicken house salad: decent. Chicken was dry. Broccoli and bacon salad: amazing Surf and turf on a stone: "best scallops ever," shrimp great, steak quality cut. Wished there had been more seasoning on the steak, but that's preference. French fries: cold. Couldn't finish them, cold. Our fault for not saying anything. Apple dumpling with ice cream: I loved it a lot Overall would give them another try, especially because of great service.

I was in town and decided to stop by for a meal. The food was quite nice, some of the better vegetarian I've had in Pittsburgh. Views were lovely, although they were a bit busy at sunset.

We had a wonderful time here. Super tasty breakfast, probably one of the better places in Oakland. Awesome view. Very friendly staff. Got the S&T breakfast, honestly from the eggs to the potatos, the sausages and dips, just felt like fine dining experience. Super delicious, will come again.

We put ourselves in the capable and friendly hands of our server, Christopher. We tried the lychee martini, the blue crab beignets & Charleston pickled shrimp appetizers. Very well balanced with flavors, and the presentation was on point. The main courses were very well flavored, and the sizes are very good. The dessert, Creme Brulee was absolutely wonderful. I have always enjoyed my time here!

Spirits & Tales was perfect. Five stars for everything. The staff was very attentive. I had the parmesan truffle fries, which were made very well. The drink selection was great and the bartenders were very friendly. Great service.

Great atmosphere! Beautiful glassed in outdoor patio, swanky indoor space, and a wrap-around bar with comfortable seating. The servers were sweet and attentive and the VEGAN OPTIONS WERE AMAZING!!! I knocked one star because the cocktails were average. They could have a more creative list that would add to the ambience of the space. My bf and I went here for my bday dinner and I'm happy we came here!

Would have given a 5 star if the service was a bit faster and if we were not asked to move from the bar Hightops due to a "reservation" . I politely declined to move and the bar manager comped our drinks, but I was upset mainly cause it took so darn long to bring out a burger and a sandwich. Had the food came out quicker and had we been able to eat our food unrushed, this is would have been 5 star. Good food and cool vibe.

Stopped in today and LOVED the food, variety of beer selections and the service! Perioges for the table were a great start and then I had Strip and Scallops on the stone! Excellent! My son had the Mahi Mahi with Shrimp and Scallops on the Stone and had the Pittsburgh Carnegie Lager and he was raving about it! My daughter got the stacked zucchini…and gave it two thumbs up along with her drinks! Seriously, this place is a destination for just a great meal in a relaxing and chill vibe! Highly recommend.

Had the pulled pork nachos and wings before the ACDC concert. Nachos had less than an ounce of meat, and a squirt of fake nacho cheese when done, was left 2/3 of bare chips behind. Wings were cold and crusty, like eating yesterday's leftovers. Only saving grace was the waitress, she was pleasant and timely to take an order for a fresh beer. Also, the security guard was great, keeping vagrants and street vendors from bothering us on the sidewalk seating.

Only second time but in town for B&F. Great taplist an cans food only got simple nachos no meat (price was iffy), but definitely tons of options of everything. Definitely will be there again.

We went here because they had outdoor seating and beer. Seemed like an no brainer. I went inside after waiting a decent time for a server then the bartender told me someone would be out. While walking back to our outdoor seating I witnessed 2 bartender sampling drinks instead of serving customers. We decided to leave.

I went two weeks in a row. The first time was for a friend's birthday and the wings were great and the service was great. The second time I got wings again but the wings tasted old and the meat looked dark and dry. The bartender catered to the college kids.

I'm an INFJ, so places like this can be overstimulating. I came here for a meetup with someone. I will say that I had no idea that Eagles enthusiasts assembled here. There were like 2 servers for seemingly 50+ people that were trying to order drinks and/or food.

Great bar on Carson St. Its a Duquesne hangout. Lotta fun for March Madness. Solid food and beer options and a nice mixed crowd more towards younger side but a fun place even for us parents.

One of my new summer favorites! Beer selection is alright, nothing to write home about but as long as it's warm out the atmosphere here is awesome! There's plenty of bar games. The open-air feel is refreshing and hip but provides protection from any rain. I love the lights out front and in the back and I'll definitely be coming back.

We went on mother's Day. There was zero wait time to be seated. We got the giant pretzel for appetizer. It was so big that it was served on a pizza platter. My wife got a club sandwich with onion rings and I got the giant reuben with fries. I cut the reuben into three regular sized sandwiches. Everything was delicious. The pretzel was $20 but absolutely worth it. The giant reuben (they have a regular size one too) was $25 and also worth it since it made 3 meals.

Holy moly, I just had the best pretzel I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. OK the menu says giant pretzel. I gotta tell you it’s not a giant pretzel. It’s an incredibly giant huge enormous freaking pretzel. And it’s not just big it’s freaking delicious, the best darn pretzel I’ve ever eaten. if you come here and you should order the pretzel, but make sure you’ve got at least one other person or maybe even truthfully two or three other people to help you because this pretzel will fill two people up completely. Our friends got the Irish sampler and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Staff is super friendly. The service is great and the bar selection is second and none. Seriously the picture doesn’t do it justice, but the pretzel is enormous definitely too big for one and almost too big for two. The honey, mustard that comes with it is fantastic. We unfortunately could not try the queso because it had garlic. It does come with garlic butter on it, but they were kind enough to do it without that and I gotta tell you it was delicious. Amazing service from Madelyn !! Super friendly and efficient ! Come here and get a pretzel.

The food rationing was ABSURD. Look below for a picture of my sandwich. The fact that they put this in front of me and expected me to be happy with it is belittling and actually the wildest thing I’ve ever seen. We also waited about 45 minutes for a table that had been open the entire time but then told us we had an hour and a half to eat bc it was reserved for later. Are we fr??? I will say the food tastes great. Don’t get me wrong, they have the potential to be a 5-star review.y experience was absolute garbage and if it’s like that all the time, I would never go there again.

Easy to be seated and we had a nice time. The tables are sticky for some reason. Server was very attentive. The burger was really good but the side salad was really generic. My gin and tonic was overpriced but my wife's special drink was terrific. All in all, a good experience.

We recently placed a large catering to go order with McFadden’s, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. The ordering process was incredibly easy, and the team was thoughtful and thorough in every detail. They even included plates, napkins, tongs, and everything we could possibly need. The food was fantastic and a huge hit at our event, especially the house smoked turkey sandwiches. Everyone raved about them! The value was outstanding for the quality and care that went into every part of the order. A huge thank you to Madelyn, Randy, and the crew who loaded the car so efficiently and kindly. McFadden’s made what could have been a stressful process absolutely seamless. Highly recommend!

At a Pirate game decided to stop here for food and drinks. Amaretto sours were super yummy...made to perfection! We got the sampler which was really good with a variety of their offerings of appetizers. We chose the razzmatazz wings: very good. We also tried the spinach artichoke crab dip...it was served with pita and potato chips: it was just okay. I ordered the Dublin burger: excellent. And the rest of the family ordered cheeseburgers: all served with double patties, huge, and delicious. You could choose fries, tots or chips. All very good. Overall very pleased with food selections. Everything was ready pretty quickly too. It was a little warm inside, which we were trying to get inside somewhere cool from the heat. Didn't happen. Our server was very nice and prompt with filling our drinks and offerings. She was great! Restrooms were well maintained too.

Definitely homophobic or they just don’t like guys who want to dance. I was dancing with some girls that invited me up on the stage and one of the guys working told me to get off probably because they only want girls dancing up there for some reason… and then I got off and the girls told me to ignore him and to just dance with them anyways so I was like okay! Then he came back and told me to get down again and was really hostile, he was like “and now you’re done.” And he escorted me out aggressively for absolutely no reason, he wouldn’t hear me out and just snatched my drink THAT I PAID FOR and didn’t let me finish it before leaving… Never going back there. It wasn’t even that fun for them to be acting like that… All my friends left immediately because of how weird that was

This place deserves to be on the Mt. Rushmore of dive bars. Awful cheap beer selection? Check. Home-made art? Check. Clouds of cigar smoke? Check. Diverse bunch of day drinkers? Check. Booze prices on the bottles in Sharpie? Check. Spotless, graffiti free bathrooms? Check. This place is heavenly.

This place rocks. Great Bloody Mary's and nice cold beer. I tried Iron City beer for my first time, and think that it's great too. Patrons are cool, and staff are efficient and friendly. Will stop there again this October when I go to watch the Penguins play again.

Didn't eat here just pre-gamed for the AC/DC concert and Jack's was perfect!!! The bartenders were friendly and funny, great service and atmosphere.

New Amsterdam is a fantastic spot in Pittsburgh! I absolutely loved grabbing drinks and listening to music on their rooftop patio. Great vibes and a perfect way to spend an evening. Five stars!

Came for my friend’s 24th birthday, but won’t be coming back. Bartender had an attitude and almost snapped my real ID in half. My friend whose birthday it was gave their ID and she immediately said "this is fake" - it was not (reminder: 24 years old). Bartender (manager? not sure) proceeded to hold onto our IDs for an extended period of time while bending and failing to use her scanner. We asked if she needed anything else from us. Received attitude. Drinks and food were bought and enjoyed by us earlier, until staff was so rude we left. Overall poor experience, will not be returning :/

The heated rooftop was very comfortable and warm. Started slow at 8 but was packed by 9. Didn't realize there was food until we were about to leave.

The food was creative and delicious, there was a great drink selection including $5 pumpkin beers, and the bartender was helpful and friendly. What more can you ask for?

We had a good time. We happened to stroll in for a drink during Oscar Bingo which was hilarious. The bartender was really knowledgeable and attentive. We got a reasonably priced beer that exceeded my expectations. The Chocolate Chip Cookie stout smells just like the name. I would definitely check this place and it's massive beer list out again.

Customer service has gone downhill. They have a new bartender she is not as friendly as others in the past. If you are African American, they don’t want your money. Go somewhere else it is sad. :(

Multiple ciders on draft and not the same old Angry Orchard and Bubbles. They had 3 ciders on draft. Really limited hours rn and the upstairs wasn't open, but the drinks and food was good.

The atmosphere and artwork/design is awesome. I had a non-alcoholic mimosa and a french toast/cinnamon toast crunch ala mode with vanilla ice cream. The mimosa tasted fantastic, and the french toast was like a very yummy bread pudding. The oat-milk vanilla ice cream was silky and creamy! The staff there is next-level awesome too. Can't wait to have Sunday brunch there again soon!

This place is awesome! Last night I attended their event "Nightmare Before Mixtape" which essentially was fully decorating the place in everything Tim Burton related. Not only were the decorations and themed drinks great but there was a girl dressed as Wednesday Addams and interacting in character with you as you completed challenges around the place such as trivia and games. After the event was over at 9, the place had a DJ spinning New Wave 80's music. Everyone there was having a good time just enjoying the vibe. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for something unique in the Burgh this Halloween, and it appears they redecorate and have other events all year. I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

Incredibly fun bar with great vibes and possibly the best espresso martini I've had in Pittsburgh. They have a bunch of different themed events with live DJs and an open space to dance. There's a good amount of seating but the tables get filled pretty fast so if you're with a group is can be hard to find somewhere to settle down on a busy night. Definitely recommend going for an event and treating yourself to a specialty cocktail. Usually a $10 cover from what I've seen for events.

Definitely worth a stop for the Tim Burton themed decor during Halloween season. Try the deadly nightshade cocktail. There’s an eyeball in it! 👁️

Took my daughter to The Nightmare before Mixtape Tim Burton themed event. The hosts were wonderful!!! Beetlejuice and Lydia absolutely nailed it. The decor was super cute and very well done and the mocktails were perfect. The games were also a nice touch. I think the time slot was the perfect amount of time for the price!

This place is vibrant! Beautiful alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with a new food menu. They support Pittsburgh artists and great Dj’s! And kid friendly!!! Grab some food and drinks and relax in the top neighborhood bar in the Burgh!

This place seems to be highly rated, so I’m not sure whether I visited at a wrong time or something was off that day because I did not think that this place was very interesting. We had a 40 mins wait at Apteka, so we wanted to kill some time with couple of drinks in the neighbourhood. This was a Friday evening at around 9 PM, and the bar was completely empty. The aesthetics are unique to put it that way, but not necessarily my vibe. The staff were extremely friendly and nice. The cocktail menu is not extensive, and you can only choose from a couple of cocktails. We went with the recommendation from the bartender and both of us chose the same drink, and it was really tasty. I was disappointed with the food choice because I wanted to not drink empty stomach and the only thing they had food wise was popcorn, which tasty wasn’t anything particularly interesting. We sat for maybe half an hour finished drinks and then left. Maybe we need to visit at another time when there is a party or something going on.

The best little bar. They made us feel really welcome, with fun and friendly staff and locals. The karaoke was great fun. Stop by after dark to see the fantastic Christmas lights in all their glory. We are from the UK, but will definitely be back if passing through Pittsburgh again ❤️🍻🎄🎤

A destination dive bar. If you have never been to Bob's Garage, you have to check it out for the decorations. All year round, the bar is FILLED with holiday decorations. Christmas is the year-round theme, but they transform the place for other holidays, too. There's so much eye candy here! You could spend your entire visit finding new decorations around the bar. They have the standard tap list and a selection of bottles. We have also been there on a karaoke night, which was super fun!

Our womens fitness group had such a great time for Karaoke on Saturday!! The drinks were great, the service was amazing! They didnt have food, but allowed us to bring in outside food and they helped us out with some silverware that the delivery person forgot.

He was rude and disrespectful — at one point, he even told my mom, "I'm not talking to you." That’s not how you treat paying customers, especially someone’s parent. We came to have a good time and were instead met with attitude and disrespect before we even spent 30 mins there from the bouncer. If this is the kind of staff they choose to hire, it really says a lot about how they value their customers. Although, the bartender was super caring and sweet. Won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone who expects basic decency. ---

Stopped by the friday of Halloween weekend. Pleasantly surprised. The bartender was a fantastic server. He is personable & attentive. The drinks are spot on & quite delicious. I highly recommend this fantastic establishment. Will visit again.

The grouchy woman working the karaoke should not be doing it if she hates her job! I brought in a big group for my friend’s birthday celebration and requested a song, just to be asked, “Are you really singing that song?” and told it was “clique”. She will also call your name quietly ONCE in a busy bar and then proceed to skip you multiple times if she doesn’t like the song you are singing. The whole bar is a fire hazard waiting to happen! Not worth the the overpriced drinks and overcrowded bar!!!!

The drinks were good and the food was just alright. I found the seating uncomfortable and the service could have been better. I got a smash burger and fries. Honestly I’ve had better burgers of this style for half as much at my local dive bar and the flavor wasn’t great, the fries were overcooked and didn’t have enough salt for my taste. The service was a little underwhelming. They did a decent job of seating us and taking our order but we sat for quite a while with no check after telling our server we were done eating. We had to get up TWICE to ask for our check. The automatic 20% gratuity is a total deal breaker for me. I don’t recall it being posted anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu and the server didn’t say anything about it before we ordered.

Take the required 20% tip off. A required tip isn’t a tip - it’s the price. In general - has an urban upper middle class feel w upscaled bar-leaning American food. It’s nice quality. The larger vibe is cozy and close and kinda works. The servers and waitstaff were also kind, truly helpful, and accommodating. However, don’t force charge me 20% extra - and even further - only tell me when I get the bill This company has a history of morally grey stuff like this. Hidden Harbor next door - same company, same kitchen - used to give you a bill w auto 20% included, hiding that it’s added to the bill under three pieces of paper. You saw a bill w one total number, w no mention of tip. It still had an audacious line to ‘add your tip’! More! Server of course not mentioning anything. I will never forget it. You want to add a required cost? Add it to the price, be honest about it. At the end, I feel mixed, it’s a fine establishment on the surface level stuff, but at the end, I find myself avoiding places like this

The whiskey buffalo wings are delicious. The beer and cocktails here (and at hidden harbor) are the best in the city.

For starters, their name is misleading as they don’t brew any beer at all. Secondly, as far as I know this is the only place in Pgh pretentious enough to automatically include 20% gratuity on your check. In my opinion one tips for good service and a pleasant experience and the only person that should and can be the judge of that is obviously the customer. Legal or not, you as a customer shouldn’t put up with such ridiculous practices.. My wife and her friend were told that the only size beer served was 16oz, which is incorrect as my wife found out once she approached the bar herself. The food was ok, but small portions for the amount of money they charge. I usually overtip when I’ve had a good time, but because this wasn’t the greatest experience, I asked the waitress for the bill, not included the 20% gratuity and explained her I’d decide how much tip I’d leave. When she told me she couldn’t do that, the manager came over telling me that what they were doing with the tip was perfectly legal and that they had 3 lawyers..? I guess that being so pretentious gets them in trouble more often and therefore I do understand their need for 3 lawyers:-) Then the owner joined the conversation, calling me his friend, to which I responded I’m his customer and not his friend and that I wasn’t at all happy about the whole experience. He didn’t get the point at all and started arguing with us.. really? Long story short, please do not support this or any establishment that thinks of themselves that they automatically deserve a 20% gratuity. It’s in your interest as a business to provide your customers with a good product and a pleasant experience and if you do a good job at that, you’ll automatically get more than a 20% tip on your services. I guess they’re not really sure whether they’re delivering a good product and/or delivering a good service. Otherwise they wouldn’t be including automatically a 20% gratuity. My recommendation, spend your dollars elsewhere where people are genuinely concerned about the experience their customers have and where the servers go above and beyond to achieve that, and don’t support pretentious businesses like Independent Brewing Company.

Underwhelmed and disappointing. We finally got to visit and really liked the vibe. It's a cute bar and small seating area. Ambiance is fun with lots of fun things on the wall. Once we sat down, the menu was overpriced and disappointing. We got the smash burger and po boy. Burger was good but really small for $15. Po boy was big but bread was not fresh and a bit stale at the ends. Salad with po boy was just sad. Not worth $16. Drink menu is online QRCode and was just not our taste. Wine list was not good. Cocktails are way over priced. Im sure they only use the best ingredients but not for me. The reason for 2 stars.. they include 20% gratitudity. If you are in Squirrel Hill and are going to charge such high prices.. your clientele will tip. We normally over tip but having it added was disappointing and we won't be going back. This place has such potential and wish this place the best.

It s a very cute spot i love to go when in squirrle hill. It works with friends, it works for a date, it just have amazing vibes. Cocktails and wings were the highlight!!

A rare find. A really cool neighborhood bar. I loved their menu of imported fish conservas. High-quality and delicious. Had a couple of these and a beer. Will eat through that list. Enjoyed my conversation with the bartender. People rave about the cocktails. Next time. The place looks great: cozy and welcoming. An interesting selection of wine and books in the back. Doesn’t look like much from the outside and parking can be challenging but definitely worth it. So many bars and restaurants are cookie-cutter. This place is an original.

What a great concept and local bar! Went for apres dinner drinks/happy hour ordering negroni and black walnut Manhattan. Delish and sooo very reasonable. Their food selection is prepackaged goods, making for quick and easy snacking. Truffle potato chips, a must try! Easy, fun and comfy atmosphere. A must visit!

Really cool little bar in Bloomfield, nice selection of beer and mixed drinks. The most interesting thing for me is the menu of canned fish, I just had myself the salmon and smoked sardines for the first time ever and it was delicious. The decor feels like your grandpa's basement but in a most excellent way.

Wow. This place is fabulous. The atmosphere is really chill and eclectic. The drinks are magnificent and Ben the bartender is incredibly passionate about his work. Sit at the bar and he will craft you a cocktail that will blow your mind, then if you’re interested he will tell you why. If you enjoy great drinks, great atmosphere and great conversation, Tina’s is a must visit. Neighborhood is terrible, but wait a while and that will improve. Didn’t eat food there… yet. But I’ll be back soon.

Arrived after dinner at DelFrisco for a nightcap with friends as they had 4 rooms at the Wm Penn upstairs. Scott at the door said we could come in but if any more friends came they'd have to drink at the bar upstairs. We asked why they couldn't just wait until people left to come in (capacity) and were just told NO. We took our money elsewhere. Sad; this used to be a real gem in the city with exceptional service.

The place is located in the basement of the Omni Hotel. It has a cool, moody atmosphere that you look for with speakeasy-type bars. Service was good, didn't try any of the food. Cocktails were tasty with some pretty unique drinks to choose from. Nothing crazy unique about the place compared to some other hidden speakeasys around, but definitely a fun spot to try out.

Only been to one speakeasy in my life and i'll keep coming back. Some friends brought me here while we were in Pittsburgh for a convention and i'm to this day, 11 years later not sure if i was being complimented by the wait staff or insulted as they did not check my ID until I begged them to (I had just turned 21 recently so either they knew i was of recent drinking age or I look OLD) Every time I get the chance to go the environment is amazing, drinks are good and staff is ALWAYS polite, we never feel snubbed and the wait staff is always willing to tell you about certain drinks, offer recommendations and even make substitutions in your drink upon request. I enjoy going here and will gladly keep going back

We stopped in today to celebrate my birthday. Although the bar was busy, the service was fantastic. Stacey answered all questions, was attentive, and made delicious drinks. Handling a busy bar while being understaffed is not easy, but this crew handled it effortlessly.

Nestled deep in the bowels of the Omni hotel this joint is worth seeking out. There will be a doorman at the entrance to greet and seat you. Give your eyes a minute to adjust to the darkness while you take in the scent and sounds of someplace special. We chose seats at the bar. Do not let the young age of the bartenders fool you, these are some extremely talented mixologists creating some exceptional cocktails. If you’re seeking an exclusive and swanky vibe, this is the place.

The staff's poor attitudes actually made me uncomfortable. Short staffing is understandable today but being rude and selective is not. They should understand that their conversations can be heard by patrons paying over 20 per drink. This is especially true for a upscale hotel bar. The liqueurs present are of decent variety but the menu is meh. I would expect more prohibition era classics. I gave it a couple tries but this place just cant get it right which is terrible since they have basics needed. I wont go back until an all new staff is hired. There are other speakeasys in Pittsburgh and much nicer bars.

My night at the Omni William Penn speakeasy was an absolute nightmare. The service was beyond rude and staff acted as if helping guests was an inconvenience. The worst part? My coat was stolen right from the property, and the hotel showed zero concern or responsibility. There was no sense of urgency, no apology, and absolutely no accountability. For a hotel that prides itself on its “historic charm,” I found nothing but a lack of respect and a shocking disregard for guest security. I no longer felt safe or valued, and the dismissive attitude of the staff made the entire experience even worse. I expected so much more from the hotel’s speakeasy that holds such a reputation, but sadly, this was one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. I would never recommend the Omni William Penn or the speakeasy to anyone looking for a professional, secure, or respectful place to stay.
