Mexican restaurant

Caribbean restaurant
La Palapa is a popular Mexican eatery located in Southside, right across from the Birmingham Bridge. Originally established in 2013, it recently relocated to a larger space with additional amenities such as a patio and bar. The restaurant offers an extensive menu of Mexican cuisine, ranging from soups and salads to specialties like barbacoa and mole chicken.
First time here and absolutely did not disappoint! Had the chicken fajitas, chicken burrito, and chips + guac. Might be the best guac I’ve ever had. Everything was seasoned perfectly and very fresh. Only thing I would change is the online menus, I would love a physical menu.
Harper L — Google review
It is centrally located , They have a lot of seating including outside siting. Though the weather currently is not supportive of it I guess most days we would get parking in the adjacent street, which is a big plus Tamales tastes nice , The guacamole is fabulous to taste Empanada were not done well though 😔
Sangeetha B — Google review
I was extremely hesitant to try this spot because Mexican food in Pittsburgh is questionable. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty our meals were and the great value of the happy hour menu. Wonderful service, good food, and nice drinks.
TJY — Google review
We recently had dinner here to celebrate my future sister-in-law finding her dream wedding dress! We were all so excited because it was a first-visit for everyone + the menu looked 🔥 Unfortunately, upon arrival, we noticed the building’s A/C was broken and they didn’t actually have our reservation noted down (which we’d intentionally made multiple days in advance). Sadly, the service left Much to be desired… The server was very flustered even though there were maybe 2 or 3 other tables sat in the whole place. She finally sat our group upstairs, showed us the QR codes on the tables and proceeded to act like we were crazy when we questioned her about ordering AND paying ahead of time through their linked website. Odd, but OK… I know I would have felt differently if she hadn’t made a point to tell us she was really busy and already had “too much” to do. It made us feel like an imposition. I will say: the food I had was delicious… I personally gave the food category a 4-star rating because the plantain/cheese empanada and the birria tacos and the guacamole were all phenomenal! I’ll be dreaming about it for weeks, I’m sure! I’ll close with this: I’m not often one to leave a review for a less than 4 or 5 star experience because I know how Google reviews can impact a business (I’m a small business owner myself), but sometimes honest and constructive feedback leads to positive growth.. 🍀
Catie R — Google review
I tried La Palapa’s food truck and it did not disappoint. The ingredients were super fresh and everything tasted great. Everything is first come first serve and they can run out especially if they are super busy.
Bill H — Google review
I visit La Palapa since years ago and i love it! Margs, delicious food, great owner engagement and some live Luis Miguel🙌🏻❤️
Harold A — Google review
We recently hosted my sister’s bridal shower here and it was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredible and the food delicious. We had a space outside behind the main restaurant which was a bit warm but spacious. Jesus was easy to work with and prices were reasonable. Great music, curated by our server. Highly recommend!
Kyli B — Google review
We came here for a family reunion in Pittsburgh. This was one of the few places that was able to accommodate our large group of over 20 people in a reserved dining area. The management and staff did a wonderful job making our family dinner a success, for both adults and kids. The food was wonderful and the service was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Taco restaurant
Bar
Catering food and drink supplier
Condado Tacos is a contemporary taqueria with locations in downtown Pittsburgh, Central Lawrenceville, and Upper St. Clair. The restaurant offers a build-your-own taco experience where you can customize your tacos with various shells, sauces, toppings, and meat-free protein options like Thai chili tofu and roasted portobello mushrooms. In addition to the customizable option, they also have specialty tacos inspired by flavors from around the world.
My daughter and I ate there today. We each had two tacos for a total of four different ones. Chicken, shrimp, veggie, and beef. They were all piping, hot filled with ingredients and delicious. Excellent tacos. I would highly recommend this spot. Our server was great.
Joseph ( — Google review
Went here for lunch. We had tacos. The tacos were good. The chicken bacon ranch taco was amazing but I was most concerned about them putting us next to the back room where all the dirty dishes go to die when the place was empty. It was creepy and dirty. The dragon fruit seasonal special wasn't special. The habanero rim was too much and the drink was too sweet. I can see someone liking it. I didn't.
Dalena M — Google review
We tried this place when they first opened and hated it. Years later they're still here so we figured we'd try it again. It's even worse. Some of these reviews say they use canned chicken and I can confirm that's 100% true. We got a bowl that was cheese sauce thickened with rice and canned chicken. The rice was like gas station sushi rice. It was awful. SLOP! We couldn't eat it. Miller lite in a mason jar was $5.50!
Ivets — Google review
There are plenty of options, toppings, and sauces. They have some specialty pre-defined tacos or you can build your own. I liked they had double decker style too, with a hard shell wrapped in a soft tortilla. Started with the elote queso. Could have used more corn, but was really good. Chips were not overly salty and very crisp. I got one of the Korean bbq tacos, but substituted tofu for the pork. The gochugang sauce was a little heavy, but the tofu was nice and firm and evenly fried to stand up to the sauce. The sauce did soften the hard taco a little but not totally soggy. I also got a chicken bacon ranch taco and substituted the chipotle crema for the ranch. It was really good. Lots of crunchy bacon. Also had a Cactus Juice mocktail which was very tasty. I went in late and wanted to watch the end of the college football game, so I stayed downstairs. The downstairs is small and there was a group of about 8 ladies at a 6 person booth/table. They were so loud you couldn't hear the music overhead and the bartender and server were having to scream to be heard. Service was great and decor was nice.
Karrie ( — Google review
Great variety of excellent tacos with the ability to custom make just about anything you want. Lots of options for vegetarians and the food is just plain great! Staff was very friendly and quickly accommodated a larger group of us during lunchtime and allowed us to get separate checks. For the size of the group the food came out pretty quick and everything was as ordered. This place will be a repeat for me if I get the chance.
Greggory W — Google review
Get's the job done. I love that you can customize your tacos however you want, and the staff can be friendly enough. The meat in the tacos seems just average though, edible, decent, but nothing that wows me enough to make me want to tell all my friends.
GB C — Google review
LOVE the staff first and foremost. Raylen (I Amy spell that wrong) was an absolute delight! We stopped by because of a recommendation from a random person an hour away selling Amish baked goods. She said we HAD to try them. The waitress told us about all the other spots for locals and we cannot wait to try them. Now the food.. the food was so well seasoned. I had the brisket swole bowl.. I added pickled onions and a crunched up spicy taco shell. It was so damn good. Hubby had the Ju-Ju taco with ground pork and said it was the best seasoned meat he ever had. I had a mezcal marg, he had a strawberry one. Super fresh and so refreshing. 10/10 would recommend. And ask for Hayden.. she is amaze-balls.
Amanda P — Google review
The food is so good we went to eat here two days in a row. The swole bowl is absolutely delicious, and so are the crunch lunch burritos with a side (which are a good deal during lunch hours). The staff is also very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place!

Taco restaurant
Restaurant
Baby Loves Tacos started as a pop-up before establishing its own location in Bloomfield, with a second one in Oakland. The owner, Zack Shell, operates the restaurant with unconventional opening hours based on production limitations. Despite its peculiar name, the restaurant offers a unique menu and is known for its friendly owner. It stands out for its liberal use of vegetarian options like buffalo cauliflower and BBQ mushroom tacos that can easily be made vegan by omitting cheese or sour cream.
Great taco spot. Family owned and run business with wonderful food and vibes. Loved the San Diego style burrito with brisket. We went on two days for both breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Pittsburgh looking to get their taco (and burrito, and breakfast tacos) fix
Adam S — Google review
Cannot comment on the tacos but we LOVE phat bagels in the am! The candied jalapeño spread is out of this world and they give you a bagel! They don’t short you like most places that charge $10 for a tiny bagel with no spread (iykyk)! This place LOADS IT UP! Massive breakfast sandwich, tons of spread options, and we have had it several times and it has always delivered! Bagels are tasty, fluffy, and soft. Staff is wonderful and we always have the best experience! Have tables for outside seating, but nothing indoors as of now! Def a must try if you love bagels or are the in area!
JD — Google review
I can't believe I haven't left them a review before but this time I finally remembered to take a pic before devouring the food. This time around got the gordito burrito with beef and chips and salsa. Both delicious! I was actually shocked at the amount of flavor packed into the salsa. The burrito is so filling that I might save half for later. In the past have also had their limeade, which is delicious, and different kinds of breakfast burritos....the BBQ mushroom is fantastic. These are awesome people making awesome food. They never disappoint.
Jen B — Google review
Very disappointed right now. You guys can't be contacted by mail, email not phone! I already left and lost money. I asked for Burrito with Rice Chicken. And Beans and to put the Pico in it. I went to eat my burrito and no pico...no cilantro no veggies and I tried to call, only to find out they have no phone! I just lost $15. Never again! They can't follow directions? BTW the chicken tacos are thigh meat or the dark meat!!! 😩Let the customers know you aren't using white meat please!
Blessed H — Google review
OMG! We went because we heard the birria tacos were great. My fiancé got them, and I chose to get something different. I had substantial anxiety about it, but I had nothing to worry about. I got the San Diego Burrito w/ brisket. Unbelievable. Though, to be faaaiiiirrrr, the brisket is a cheat code. I'm pretty sure I'd eat a slipper if they put that brisket on it. Wow! My fiancé says the birria tacos were the best she's had. So, yeah, eat here! Some things to note, there is no inside dining. It's takeout only despite what it says in Google Maps and even the photos are probably from a prior location. They have 3 or 4 tables on the sidewalk. Make it work. It's worth it. No photo because burritos are not photogenic, even outrageously delicious ones.
Jesse G — Google review
Baby Loves Tacos is more than just amazing food—it’s a family-owned business where the warmth and love are served first-hand. Every taco tastes homemade, with perfectly seasoned fillings, soft tortillas, and salsas full of personality. The team is welcoming, genuine, and passionate, and that family energy makes the whole experience special. Truly one of Pittsburgh’s best spots—you’ll taste the love in every bite.
Gleidys S — Google review
This place is absolutely fantastic. The food itself is so good. Its high quality ingredients and really good recipes. I also feel like the value cannot be beat. When I go here I am paying for the food versus the atmosphere of a fanciet sit down restaurant (which is of course nice at other times) which I appreciate when I go somewhere for lunch. I also stopped by one time and they were closing up and were giving out free burritos. They didnt want to waste the food which is really thoughtful and I think shows great values. Makes me want to keep spending money here. Thank you very much to everyone who works here!
Alex A — Google review
This is one of the very best food spots in Pittsburgh. Heck...this is one of the best food spots I've ever been to. And yet...it's a hidden gem for so many people because this is a small family business. Baby Loves Tacos is a true hidden gem...somehow...in Pittsburgh. The food is S tier and the family that owns are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Las Velas is a charming Mexican restaurant tucked away on the second floor of a building in downtown Pittsburgh's Market Square. The restaurant offers a delightful view of the square and serves dishes inspired by Mexico City and the Riviera Maya. Visitors can enjoy generous portions of their favorite tacos, such as the flavorful tacos al pastor, accompanied by large sides at reasonable prices. The friendly ambiance and attentive staff make dining at Las Velas an enjoyable experience.
I like the Asada and Mahi tacos. Meat was tender and moist and delicious. I had Cancun soup was very light, refreshing, and tasty. My boyfriend got Large margaritas and he loved it while watching the birds outside. I had mango margarita and was very good. However I went back for chicken tortilla soup and I was sad that it didn’t have any veggies it was all broth and mostly tortilla strips. I recommend the Cancun better as it has more vegetables.
Cindy — Google review
Located on the upper floor of a building in Market Square, Las Velas can be a little tricky to find at first, but it’s absolutely worth it once you get there. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, and despite being a random weekday, the place was bustling—always a good sign! I visited solo and chose to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great spot to enjoy the quick service and friendly staff. I ordered the Al Pastor tacos, and they did not disappoint—flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. As someone visiting Pittsburgh, I had heard great things about Las Velas, and I’m happy to say it lived up to the hype. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for delicious Mexican food in the heart of the city.
Reetu — Google review
I got a pork plate, taco, burrito enchilada with rice and beans. The food had good flavor. Everything was lukewarm. My taco had hard reheated pork in it, I thought they were bones. Good atmosphere, clean, good service. I think all the businesses in that area are suffering from construction right outside their door. First Mexican restaurant were you didn't get chips and salsa. They were extra.
Matthew — Google review
Absolutely loved this place! The food was bursting with authentic Mexican flavor, you can really tell everything is made with care. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was warm and colorful, and the whole experience just felt special. If you’re craving real Mexican food, this spot is a must!
Fatima A — Google review
Service here was not good , server took a long time to get our appetizers and food. And when the food did come , most of it was wrong or missing, when we told the server it was wrong she said she would check the receipt which is weird because we know what we ordered . We didn’t get any refund on the 3 orders that were messed up. I’m ok with paying my food but at this point there was 3 orders messed up and we only changed one of them because we didn’t wanna take up even more time waiting .i don’t remember the servers name but she was tall Hispanic with glasses and brown/blonde highlights .Here are the pics
Kimberly — Google review
Service was a bit slow, seems understaffed. Our server was running around a lot of tables. I waited 15 minutes for a soda refill. Not impressed with the queso, it was very watery and dripping all over us and the table. I wasn't expecting all of the pork/carnitas tacos to be al pastor style; I'm personally not a fan of the pineapple taste in my carnitas but it wasn't bad per se. This is one of the most sparsely decorated Mexican restaurants I've ever seen, kind of disappointing. And if it matters to you, there is a discount if you pay with cash.
Michael M — Google review
I ate dinner here based on reviews. Did not disappoint. Service was extremely fast, but almost to a point where it felt like we were rushed to order. The food was great, however the stuffed jalapenos felt like they were missing something. Couldn't put my finger on it though.
Jason H — Google review
Awesome place, Great Food, Service and Atmosphere. I ordered Chicken Enchiladas Mole... The Enchiladas need to be a little warmer and a touch more salt, the refried beans were Great... I believe they are made in house as well as the great Spanish rice. The Margarita was good too. But most of all my waitress Ash or Ashton was Fast, Nice and friendly and was Amazing to watch her work She had such a Rhythm about her when she was working and never missed a beat, I asked for the manager so I could compliment her to the manager and she said that's me... Amazing experience at this place and I highly recommend this place !!! From me a Top 10 USA Google food blogger Ask for Ash and you won't be disappointed. Way to go Ash !!!

Good tacos!! The food came out fast and the tacos were great. We chatted with the cashier for a while and he was super nice. He also gave us a couple free taco coupons, which was very kind of him. The spot is super cute and the decor is awesome. This would be a great place to stop in for lunch or dinner. I didn’t look at their drink options, but having some beer and tacos here would be incredible. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

Was staying nearby for the night and this place looked good. It did not disappoint! I got the taco box with two very generous and absolutely delicious tacos plus chips and salsa. The shaved ribeye and Pollo taco were outstanding. For the price it was a good amount of food and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.

Tacos are ordinary, no need to make a long distance if you are not really craving for tacos or other Mexican food. Prices are reasonable.

Large portions, but cheap cheese spoilt the food for me. Hip decor. Limited menu. Friendly service.

You really doing expect a place that looks this fancy and “chainy” to taste authentic. But Doce Taqueria has a great selection of fire tacos! Fish, vegetarian/vegan, meat options, etc. I have been here several times and have not been let down! Really delicious tacos, salsas, guac, all at great prices!

Totopo Cocina & Cantina is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located in Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh. The restaurant offers a variety of Mexican dishes, including combo platters and flavorful tacos like the popular tacos al pastor. It is Latino-owned and has another branch called Tocayo in Shadyside. With its Happy Hour and Taco Tuesday specials, Totopo provides a great setting to savor delicious tacos with friends.
This was such an amazing experience. My husband is Mexican and said this was the best Mexican food he had had in a long time. From the service to the food to the atmosphere everything was just perfect!! The fried ice cream was too dire for! Definitely get the guacamole made right at your table. You won't be sorry!
Kara C — Google review
Totopo is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in Pittsburgh. We ordered guacamole, nachos, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos. All of them were absolutely top notch. The naked burrito was just okay, but everything else made up for it. I also tried the spicy pineapple cocktail, and it was hands down the best drink of the night. To finish, we shared the tres leches cake, which was perfectly moist and delicious. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re craving flavorful Mexican food and a fun atmosphere in Pittsburgh!

Bull River Taco Co. is a hidden gem that offers incredibly delicious tacos and nachos at very reasonable prices. The place has garnered a loyal following due to its mouthwatering offerings, with some even claiming it to be as good as or better than other well-known establishments in the area. Despite the lack of seating, customers are drawn to the heavenly nachos and the friendly atmosphere created by the accommodating staff.
We just stopped at the truck when it was in Mount Pleasant. Pork, beef and chicken were very good. Salsa and queso were also on point. We will be definitely coming back.
Erik A — Google review
Part 1 - About the Place: Bull River Taco's location just off the highway is convenient, but the small parking lot can be a challenge during busy times. The restaurant was surprisingly empty when I visited, which created an odd atmosphere. Part 2 - About the Food: When it came to the tacos, I had high hopes, but they fell short. The pork taco was disappointingly dry, lacking the succulence you'd expect. The spicy beef taco was passable, nothing more, while the chicken taco was outright unappetizing. It's a shame that none of the tacos lived up to expectations. Additionally, the homemade sauce had a strong vinegar taste, overpowering the delicate flavors of the fillings. A missed opportunity for a great meal.
Pratik N — Google review
Really great food! The nachos are the perfect and very well disrupted. They have very generous portions which I love. The people working there were very friendly! I’ll definitely come back again!

Love this place!! Loved the brisket tacos!! The queso is so yummy. We also love the beef tacos! 😋

GREAT tacos, everything is made to order with fresh ingredients. Loaded nachos were enough for two people. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back for more. Please tap the like button if you find this review helpful.

Outstanding tacos! Had 3 one chicken, one pork, and one spicy beef. I'm not in this area very often but I will be coming by for a few tacos now and again. Those tacos were big and filling. And since i was the only person there at the time the service was super fast had my food in minutes.

I've only experienced the location in White Oak. They are consistently delicious and fresh. I've only had the beef and chicken tacos and the BBQ crunch wrap was a nice surprise. Street tacos can be messy. These are no different. I like that they give you a small lime wedge with each one. WILL BE RETURNING and will likely try out the Whitehall location as well. CHEERS!
Libby M — Google review
Food was excellent! Had the brisket tacos and general Tso's crunch wrap. Both were top quality! My fiance had the taco salad and my daughter had the kids taco. Both were also raving about how good it was and that this is going to be a new usual spot for us. Not only was the quality of food good but the price was also great and the wait wasnt long at all (maybe 5 mins)! If all that wasnt enough the guy threw in some candy snacks and a drink free of charge for my daughter. You guys have new regulars for sure!

Edgar's Best Tacos is a popular food truck in Pittsburgh's Strip District, known for serving some of the freshest and most authentic tacos in the city. The owner, Edgar Alvarez, has been a prominent figure in the local taco scene for 20 years. The menu features classic Mexican street eats such as barbacoa, lengua, pollo, and carnitas tacos with homemade toppings and salsas.
This is the 2nd time I have had their tacos, rice and beans. So so good 😋. This is one of my favorite things to eat so it's probably really easy to please me 😄. The food was fresh and delicious both times I have had it.

I was really hoping to enjoy these tacos but they’re $4 for each taco. Chorizo is my favorite but this chorizo taco was sour. The portion sizes are tiny! $16 for 4 tacos isn’t great but the people were super nice !

Absolutely delicious. I personally love his ground beef burritos with some salsa verde sauce on the side, but great food and awesome service. Edgar always remembers his customers too. Awesome guy and awesome food I would always recommend to anybody.

Edgar's Best tacos in Pittsburgh and like my daughter claims - THE BEST TACOS IN THE WORLD. Wow it's the best ever and the service is amazing. So authentic and we love the place. If you're in the Burgh and over by the Strip District, do yourself a favor and stop by and see Edgar.

Edgar man I had high hopes. I gave you three stars because your steak taco was good but you skimped out on the taco. Single tortilla, taco was slick thin, tacos ddnt seemed. I know this is the strip but I came through to support a local business but wasn’t super impressed. I was at the truck not the restaurant just FYI

I loved Edgar's as a taco truck and I'm so excited they got their own place! I wish I didn't live so far away from them or I'd be there everyday. Their food is authentic and delicious. I also had the très leches cake which was amazing! I loved the guac and chicken tacos with the homemade salsas too. I highly recommend!
Alicia D — Google review
The tacos were amazing, just the right amount of flavor!! We also got the pork taco to try, but did not get a photo. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Can't say enough good things about this place. As soon as we entered the door we were greeted with a welcoming smile and a cheerful "Hola". Food was served quickly which we were happy about because we were starving after a long bike ride from South Side to the Strip. Dug into and quickly devoured four tasty Mexican-style tacos. Two were chicken tacos and two were carne asada. They were all out of this world! Will definitely return.

Mexican restaurant
Taco Town is a Mexican street food spot situated in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The restaurant offers an array of authentic Mexican dishes, with a focus on delivering the true flavors of Mexico. Their menu features classic tacos filled with flavorful meats and topped with fresh salsa, as well as quesadillas and burritos. Customers can opt for regular build-your-own tacos or premium specials like the OMG tacos.
Made a quick last minute decision to stop here before the lunch crowd arrived somewhere around 11:30 am on a Tuesday. Best decision! This place is a really nice little spot! I’d absolutely eat and order from here often if I worked in town! Clean Fresh Nicely plated The flavors, food temps and quality are all there!! As in, we will be back…My son had tacos, my husband had the California burrito and I had the chicken quesadilla. Excellent!! Excellent!! Excellent!!
Cindy L — Google review
I was a bit disappointed this time when I ordered my burrito as it didn’t come with sour cream and it states on the website that it comes with sour cream. Also theres more rice than there is other ingredients, and the chicken tasted a bit old like if it was done in the morning time; A bit tough to bite. I would also suggest changing the styrofoam plates since my plate was a bit burnt throughout. Other than that still tasted good.
Melissa H — Google review
I came for takeout and ordered the Ranchero burrito, when I got home it turned out I received the original burrito. I was very disappointed as I paid $15 to get the wrong food. Also I found a long hair in my food. Which put me completely off eating the rest of it. Extremely disappointed by the fact. The food was also mostly rice, not much meat or anything else. Extremely disappointed

This place needs more love! The Alambre Tacos were recommended and did not disappoint! Amazing flavor and very filling, especially for the price. They offer other south of the border items along with several protein options. The service was helpful and friendly.

The staff was very friendly and did a great job of explaining the menu since this was our first time visiting the restaurant. My sister got the enchiladas. She thought they were excellent. I got tacos. I just thought they were ok in comparison to other Mexican restaurants I have been to. I wouldn't order them again if I went. My daughter got a quesadilla and thought it was really good. For our appetizer, we got the nachos. Those were definitely the star of the show for me. They were delicious and I would highly recommend this menu item. Overall it we had a good experience.

Shan — Google review
I am super surprised at how good this place was! On the outside it doesn’t look the best. And, the prices are really quite cheap. The food might not be the most authentic, and it’s not “high class,” but it is delicious. I tried the empanadas with chicken and cheese, rice, beans, and a churro. The empanadas were incredibly good! They were huge too. Filled with lots of tasty cheese. The chicken was well cooked and well seasoned. I would have loved it to be a tad more crunchy, but still very good. The beans (black beans) were just okay. They tasted a bit canned, but they came for free with the empanadas. The rice was pretty good, but not that flavorful. Still tasty though. The churros was decent as well. It made for a nice dessert. Decent size, but the taste was not remarkable at all. Kind of standard. All in all, I really enjoyed this place. It’s some of the best empanadas I’ve had in a while. And, the sides aren’t bad either. Very good prices and portions. Definitely recommend for some cheap Mexican!

Täkō is a vibrant and trendy taqueria that offers inventive Mexican street food in a stylish setting with sidewalk seating. The restaurant's name, which means octopus in Japanese, reflects its fusion of Asian and Mexican cuisine. Täkō's menu features a variety of tacos with creative twists, such as Korean tacos, along with other signature dishes like street corn and tres leches.
I came here 2.5 years ago, but at the time it was wonderful. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a pleasant, warm ambience and decoration. We were seated up top at the very corner, and had a nice view of the entire place. You can get a little forgotten if you're tucked away there on a busy day, but it's really not a problem. I was surprised at how tender the octopus was in the 'tako' tacos, and how fresh the other accoutrement were, pairing together to make one delicious, albeit strange, taco. Everything we tried was great.

Stepping into this taco haven, you’ll immediately be enveloped in a vibrant yet soothing atmosphere. The rich red decor creates a warm, inviting ambiance that is both energetic and remarkably calming. Soft lighting and gentle background music, sets a relaxed tone. The food itself is a celebration of flavors, with tacos crafted to perfection using fresh ingredients. The menu offers a variety of choices, ensuring there’s something delightful for every palate. Complementing the excellent food is the top-notch service. A special shoutout goes to Hans, whose presence truly stands out. Hans not only provided exemplary service and suggested a variety of delicious tacos but also impressed with his great hair and impeccable sense of style, adding a unique charm to the dining experience. His friendly demeanor and stylish flair made the visit even more enjoyable. Sorry I couldn’t thank you in person before I left. In all, this taco restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food served in a beautifully designed, calming environment with service that goes the extra mile.

This place is fantastic in every aspect. We got the street corn app, chicken and Al pastor tacos, and cocktails. All were amazing! I could rant about it all, but the flavor and char on the chicken was mind-blowing! Service was exceptional and food came out super fast. As we dined, we admired the beautiful decor and wall paintings. Great atmosphere, great service, and amazing food. Don’t miss this spot!

Love the food, atmosphere and service! I normally have the Korean taco today. I changed it up and had both the fish taco and the mushroom taco with the classic margarita. They are all so good.

Probably the best tacos I've ever had. The ambience was so dark and moody I loved it. And the bartenders and service were amazing. 10/10

I have been to Tako probably 50 times since they opened. A solid choice and I am always grateful they serve food on the later side when most restaurants are shutting down at 9pm. My one wish is that they would offer a vegetarian taco as one of the daily specials because the mushroom one on the menu is not their best work. They had a carrot taco that was divine - bring it back forever! Subbing potato for the meat in the other tacos is offered as an option. Always good service.
Renee — Google review
I dined at this restaurant somewhere around the first month that they opened and there was a great deal of care going into the food and the recipes and the quality everything there was delicious that felt like several years ago. I talked it up to my family. we went before a show recently. We had the Korean barbecue tacos. My daughter had the gringo tacos. No one ate anything I ordered the Korean barbecue tacos. They were inedible burnt to a crisp crunchy like potato chips I make Korean barbecue at home often. This had no resemblance to Korean barbecue tasted like ashes I looked in the kitchen. There were six or seven people there just turning out food. I understand what happens when suddenly you have to make numbers and meet a scale instead of the passion in the quality I felt that this place lost for me all the appeal at once had. I’m sad to have to write this. I don’t see how I could go back for $150 for tacos and beer. I know the group that owns this has done and can do much better, but that’s what happens when volume takes over

Tasty food and such a fun atmosphere. The lighting made it hard to capture how tasty the food is, but trust me it’s good. I enjoyed it for date night with my husband. It’s noisy, so if you don’t like that it’s not for you, but the taste of the food meant I didn’t feel like I had to take space with words and I got to enjoy the moment.

Emmilianos is a popular Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh with a sleek, colorful interior and delicious food. The steak with cheese and chips and salsa here is fantastic, as is the holy guacamole. And while it doesn't make any big claims of authenticity, Emilianos knows how to party with its fishbowl margaritas and frozen strawberry margaritas.
I have nothing negative to say. My new favorite place to eat. My second day in a row having the shrimp tacos from here. The tacos are stuffed with shrimp!!!! My boyfriend got the Buffalo Chicken tacos. His tacos were stuffed with chicken as well. We ended our meal with churros!!!! Everything was so flavorful and authentic tasting. Mariel was amazing. Beautiful woman! Our food came out very fast! It started with the homemade chips and salsa. Oh lord. Had to remind myself to SAVE ROOM FOR YOUR MEAL!!! Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant is decorated so nice! Very clean too! Great price for everything said and done. Bill came to $44 for everything we ordered. See ya soon! Again!

Our waitress was really kind, fast, and helpful. However, I've had better Mexican food. To be fair, I only tried the enchiladas, and while they were good, they actually tasted better as leftovers the next day. The presentation of the food was excellent! As for the restaurant, it’s nothing extraordinary—just a decent spot for a quick meal when you're really hungry.

Overall, the experience here was good. Food was quick and quite tasty. The service was fantastic and our waitress was very nice. The reason this review is not a 5 star is because the food portions were a little bit small. I was still hungry after completing both my and my wife's meal. This could have just been the specific dishes we ordered, but we have ordered the same things in the past and they were bigger. Besides the portion sizes being smaller, everything was good, and I would return here!
Tim A — Google review
I wanted to like this place, but the menu can really use some serious work. I'm not sure if the taste of everything was weird because all the ingredients were about to expire, or what? The tortilla soup is quite literally a clear broth with tortilla strips and a small amount of shredded cheese. I won't sugar-coat it, the soup sucked horribly. It was as if they ran out of the real tortilla soup and slapped the broth concoction together and hoped for the best. It has zero taste, even the tortilla strips flavor was absolutely lost. And the cheese added ZERO value or taste to the soup. The service was fantastic, the drinks were just fine. But please kick up the flavor of the food, and get RID of that awful tortilla broth.

El Burro Uno is a Mexican-themed restaurant with locations in North Side and Regent Square. The compact, hip eatery offers classic tacos and burritos, as well as rotating vegan specials. It has a separate vegetarian/vegan menu featuring soy chorizo, vegan cheese, taco salad, potato rolled tacos, and Chile Arellano. The North Side location is similar to Doce Taqueria in layout but offers more expansive options.
delicious food, quick service and vegan and vegetarian options. Menu is pretty inclusive for how little the place is. There’s seating inside to eat but the vibe of this location lends to takeout. The vibe is excellent though, pretty art and good smells. I got the rolled chicken tacos and they were excellent!! Will def be back. I liked the quality of food better here than the south Braddock location

Great place for tacos and burritos. I got the nachos, which took way longer than I expected, which affected the texture, and there wasn't enough protein, a lot of sauce and guacamole, which wasn't a plus for me. I would come back one more time because maybe the staff was having a bad day. The flavor was there, so I'll get something else next time.

Great spot in the North Side for more authentic SoCal Mexican. I had the Cali burrito. The vibe is so festive and fun, I love the unique stools and all of the Knick knacks. Elliott was so friendly and talkative. Can’t wait to go back!

Thought I'd give them another chance after their reopen . Queso was so thin and really didn't taste much like Queso SHOULD taste like (like it was literally watered down with milk? ). Polo Asado was so bland with not much flavor to the chicken at all. Last order I'll be placing.
Renee G — Google review
Not what I expected when we chose this place before a concert on google, but it was delicious. It's on again city street, so parking is limited side streets. It's just a small little place. Seems to do more takeout than dine in. They have two long high tables against the sides of the walls with stools for dinning in, so it's more of a quick eat and head out. The food was delicious. I got a California burrito (which was LOADED with carne asada) and rice & beans.
Lauren L — Google review
Staff is super friendly and the place is very cool. I love the decor and painted seats and all. The food was pretty good quality, the queso wasn't my favorite but still pretty good. My only problem is that it was a little pricey but they probably use good quality ingredients so id say it's worth it. Would still recommend.
Chase E — Google review
I got a chorizo, a chicken taco, and a TJ hot dog. You have to go street style because soft shell or die. The tacos were massive compared to the typical street tacos of Mexico or LA. Definitely worth the money. It came with the signature cilantro and onion, topped off with lime. I wish the hot sauce was a little hotter, but great tacos. As for the hot dog, it was described to me as “bacon-wrapped”, but I could not fin any bacon. It came topped with Mexican cheese, cilantro/onion, tomatoes, and guacamole. It was a great hot dog, but going in expecting bacon and not getting bacon was pretty disappointing. I will definitely go back, but I’m going back for the tacos, u less someone finds the bacon. Great atmosphere, very limited seating (I think there like 12 bar stools). Definitely get over here or I think there is a location in Regent Square. Either way, you’ll be happy and full.

You simply cannot beat $3 tacos at Las Palmas! They’re the best around—authentic, delicious, and always fresh. You purchase food tickets inside (for example, say 4 tacos) and then hand them to the gentleman outside cooking. Our toddler loves it, too! Just be careful with the salsa—red means HOT! We love it here and feel so fortunate to live so close!

Edit : I really like this place but over past few years the quality of the tacos have degraded and so my rating. From 5 to 3 and now to 1. About the Place: This local taco place situated outside a Mexican grocery has its perks. The convenience of being adjacent to the grocery is a plus. There are tables outside where you can enjoy your meal, which is a nice touch. About the Food: The chicken and beef tacos are the standout choices here. They're both quite good and definitely worth trying. However, it seems like the quality might have taken a dip compared to how it used to be. It's disappointing when something that was once better doesn't hold up now. On the bright side, they offer fresh veggies as taco toppings, which adds a healthy and flavorful dimension to the meal.

These are the best tacos in Pittsburgh— hands down, landslide, no question. Every taco is made to order with fresh toppings for your choosing. I hate using the race card but they aren’t to fond of black women! I got tacos here recently And they had very blank expressions. Me and two other black women were in line and the guy cooking the foods energy was so nasty when he asked what I wanted. I thought I was over thinking it and then another black woman came out of the store and I see the guy cooking look at her and started whispering something under his breath while shaking his head in disgust. I love their food but if this is the treatment we receive while being paying costumers , IM GOOD. Other black people beware they are not too fond of us. Wish is wasn’t a race thing but unfortunately sometimes IT IS. This isn’t the first time I walked in there and they have unwelcoming energy. I just haven’t said anything until today where it was clear as day the cook was disgusted by the lady waking out of the store who just paid for her food !

Guests can also enjoy specialty margaritas and fresh ingredient tacos at this neighborhood spot. The burritos are particularly noteworthy for their flavorful fillings and ample portions.
I love Mexican food! Naturally that means I had to eat at Tocayo when it was an option. I got the chicken fajitas and my boyfriend got the shredded chicken chimichangas. Everything was delicious!! As a starter with had chips, queso and tomatillo, which you could tell was so fresh. I’d highly recommend.
Alexis J — Google review
Exceptional queso and tortilla chips. Mediocre enchiladas. Loved my rice, enjoyed my beans. Not very flavorful in general. Suited for a casual, chatty dinner with friends with a stronger focus on dining as a social experience than a culinary one.
Edie H — Google review
Tocayo-Shadyside has excellent food. Delicious, perfectly crafted cocktails. I had the Jamaica Margarita and my Mom had a frozen Mango Marg. The guacamole is one of the best in the city. I was expected to be charged more for it, since the menu listed it's cost as "market price". But I believe it came to $14 for an appetizer portion fit for two. For my entree I tried the mix and match tacos. I had the fish taco, which was insanely good. And I tried a chicken chorizo taco, which was very good. These came with a very flavorful and nicely portioned side salad. My Mom tried the shrimp taco and she raved about how good it was. Service was nice enough. As far as atmosphere goes. Tocayo is beautifully decorated with vibrant, colorful and cheerful decor. But the overall vibe from staff and other patrons was the opposite of cheerful, warm and vibrant. It was sterile and muted. That was kind of a drag. Maybe they didn't particularly like that my eight year old son was with me? He's very well behaved and quite frankly, the life of the party anywhere we go. Maybe they could take a nod from him and loosen up and crack a smile once in awhile. I would give them another try. But if I get the feeling my kid is unwelcome again, then I'll never go here again.

My meal consisted of chips and salsa, a blood orange margarita, 2 tacos (chicken and chorizo, and steak), the white bean chili, and an espresso lava cake. Solid food all around. The green tomatillo is a must, and the white bean chili was a stand out as well. The tacos were great, the margaritas were tasty, and the dessert hit the spot. Consistently served great food here. I paid $80+ for 2 adult meals with margaritas, 1 dessert, 1 taco for a child with a horchata drink, and chips and salsa. Overall, a 4.5 out of 5.

The drinks were outstanding and the service was fast. I had the guac, shrimp and chicken tacos and a tortilla soup. Literally best tacos I’ve ever had. The shrimp ones were especially good. Just a gorgeous mix of flavors and ingredients. Not a one note taco! Staff was helpful and responded to us! Not one mistake in orders. Just outstanding. The corn hole and ladder ball outside was perfect for the boys too.

Stopped by this food truck in PPG plaza. So delicious! I got Barbacoa tacos with no onions and they did not disappoint!!! Mad I haven’t stopped sooner.

Really nice mexican place with a good atmosphere. It is general moderately priced, but I'd say it's worth the taste and the quality. The horchata pitcher is the best thing you can order if you're more than 2 people, and I'd definitely recommend their enchiladas as well. The rice and the burritos are really well cooked and the staff helps you with your specific taste as well.

Mexican restaurant
Nestled in Shaler Plaza, California Taco Shop is a hidden gem that you might overlook while driving along Route 8. Initially, I never thought this unpretentious spot in the North Hills would serve up authentic Mexican tacos, but a spontaneous visit changed my mind completely! The tacos here are simply delightful and have become a regular part of my lunch routine—at least once or twice a month.
I come here for lunch at least one or two times a month. The carne asada fries are what lured me and they didn't disappoint. Since then I've tried every kind of taco except the fish and shrimp (not a huge seafood fan) and every one has been excellent. Their burritos are the size of a small child. Personally, I like getting the combination platters. I think the enchilada + beef burrito combo is the best bang for your buck, but my favorite (pictured) is probably the pollo asado. Their house red and green salsas add the perfect amount of flavor and heat. I really need hit up one of their breakfast burritos one day. I find it hilarious that the restaurant is right next to a Taco Bell too. Hell of a flex.

Felt like las palmas meets homemade, plus tons of toppings. Or maybe - like a more intense flavor homemade leaning version of patrons. Overall really nice mexican food in the area. Intense, sharp flavors. Tacos were packed. Prices were a little higher than i expected. Paid 16 dollars for 3x a la carte items, but perhaps that’s the deal these days Worth mentioning it was fast service in an authentic feeling joint. I’d go back and enjoy it. It’s not blow your mind mexican food, but it’s quite good and you’ll likely enjoy it

I tell you what this place was fantastic, I come in not really knowing what to expect because it's in sort of tiny strip mall and there isn't a lot of signage letting you know it's there visible from rt.8 and I never would have noticed it had it not been for google maps recommending it to me because usually you are driving as fast as possible to beat that light by the gas station. Anyway the food was amazing and we ordered nearly everything from the menu, we are taking about $150+ for two people (we had loads of left overs of course) Everything was got was great tasting and exceeding what I had expected. The taste was authentic and the service was great as well. They do have a small seating area which was empty when we got there and nobody ever sat down except for my wife and I. This seems mainly as a carry out joint and there were plenty of people coming in to pick up orders. Cost wise they are in the middle and had a recent price hike due, what I suspect, is inflation and the cost of food going up but it was still a good value for what you got. This is an easy repeat for me as it's on the way to my parents so I will be back for sure.

Good food, reasonably priced, friendly staff, plenty on menu items to pick from, and a clean restaurant. Order was correct and came out of the kitchen... hot and delicious! I will definitely be a returning customer!

The food was absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, and quickly made! I had the chicken burrito and churros. Before ordering online, I'd recommend calling them since they were out of tres leches but it was still listed on their website. The grilled chicken burrito was quite large. I customized it without onions and they were ensured there were no onions. The sauce in the burrito is excellent. A bit creamy, flavorful, and plentiful. The chicken is tender and there is quite a lot of chicken! The outer shell is soft and when I picked it up, it was still warm. Took only 10 minutes to make. The burrito comes with two sauces for free (red and green). Both are somewhat acidic and quite spicy. You'll love them if you are a fan of real spice. The churros were the best I have ever had. You can add caramel to them as well, probably for a small upcharge. The plain version was still amazing. Crispy on the outside, and fluffy in the inside. It was not overly hard. There is some sort of sweet cream/stuffing on the inside which was also quite unique. I believe you get 6 with each order. Overall, I highly recommend the California Taco Shop. It is a great bang for your buck, has authentic flavors, and lots of variety. Plus, they make your food very quickly. Delicioso!

Out of towner trying this place for the first time. Delicious food, fresh, and very flavourful. Tried the fish taco, shrimp taco, Al pastor taco, and al pastor burrito. Had the guac and chips. Stick to the tacos.

DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS GEM! We happened upon this place purely by chance today as I was planning to shop at a nearby store and we needed some lunch. As a former California resident, when I saw fish tacos I knew it was going to be different than some "white people taco night" deal. I peeked in the window and knew it would be great. I got the carnitas plate which the cashier said was one of his favorites, and my friend got the fish tacos which she said were amazing. Food came out lightining fast My carnitas plate was BUSSIN ya'll, with freshly grilled tortillas on the side and a generous plate of crunchy, meaty, fatty, delicious carnitas, some smooth delicious beans and rice, and a little salad. Topped with the house hot sauce it had the perfect blend of heat and flavor. And they had Mexican coke which I prefer because it doesn't have HFCS. The decor on the wall almost made me feel like I was in a California taco place and that I could walk outside to some hot sunshine and a short walk to the beach. Can't get that here on the east coast but at least the food got me close! Though I am from a couple hours away I plan to return to Pittsburgh several times this year and will be sure to hit this place again. Definitely recommend.

OMGGG EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOOOD! The food was amazing. The staff was kind, organized, and serene despite the busy weekend dinner rush. We came for my sister in law's birthday and they took care of our table while managing a steady stream of customers.

Viva Los Tacos is a trendy taco shop in Oakland that offers thoughtful tacos with reasonable prices. On first visit, I opted for the Korean BBQ chicken tacos and found them to be disappointingly not particularly Korean. However, the slow roasted pulled pork and honey chipotle BBQ were both excellent. The flour tortilla was crispy and the shredded cheese added a nice layer of richness to the taco.
Lenci is a beautiful person and server! 5 stars across the board. She gave us an excellent experience. Food was fresh and drinks were good.

Decent food, for cheap. I enjoyed my Birria tacos! The churros were mediocre. Great for a quick bite.

This was my first time here! went there for lunch. There was no wait. The employee was good friendly and welcoming. I had got two fish tacos. My daughter had the steak tacos. They were good! this place also has a downstairs. It’s big inside too. They also serve liquor.

Nice taco spot with a wide selection of flavors. The staff were great to us as we had a toddler with us. Really good experience.

My experience inside this place was horrible! I ordered from this exact place two weeks ago through uber eats and ordered the same exact thing inside. Totally different food. I order the barria tacos and I got fried corn tortilla no limes no cilantro no nothing my tacos are dry even wit the side of sauce they give you. I ask the waitress what was going on and she said they are always served this way and I know for a FACT they are not because I’ve had them before. Im very disappointed!!
Taylor B — Google review
We were there tonight and had such a horrible experience. The server got an attitude when we asked for silverware and dared to call lettuce topped with steak and NOTHING ELSE a salad.there were like three servers just sitting at a table ignoring customers. Never. Again.
Amanda B — Google review
They force you to buy 2 of the same. There's no a la carte feature. No unsweetened ice tea. What I had was very good but I don't want 2 tacos exactly the same. Chips are below average. Lots of broken pieces.
Daryl N — Google review
Ordered takeout. I ordered the steak tacos, which do not list cheese anywhere in the ingredients, nor is there an option to remove it if there was. I received them with cheese and was very disappointed as I’ve heard good things about the food and was excited to try it out. I wasn’t able to eat it as I have an allergy.

Las Palmas Pittsburgh #2 is a delightful Mexican grocery store that has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. Nestled in the Brookline neighborhood, this charming market offers an impressive array of specialty items, making it a go-to destination for authentic Mexican ingredients. However, what truly sets Las Palmas apart is its outdoor taco stand, where you can indulge in freshly made tacos that many claim are the best in all of Pittsburgh. For just $2.
absolutely crazy deal $3 for each taco and they r packed w so much meat and the all u can get topping, sauces, more bar makes it actually sm more crazy. order inside and give the ticket to the cook outside

Las Palmas es muy delicioso!! Atwood Street is where you’ll find Las Palmas tacos. Locating parking can be challenging but don’t get upset! Because these tacos son muy ricos! (Very good). Atwood street is a one way street so take that into account. When trying to find parking I found that taking boulevard of the Allies all the way in until you meet Basset st, hanging a left at that light and taking it up until you run into Atwood street is the best route. The tacos are done on an outside flattop grill. The well seasoned and well loved flattop grill pumps the tacos out in a timely manner. As your eyes grow as large as your stomach, the mind paces its thoughts on what you’re about to do to these finely done corn tortillas and choice of meat tacos. Finally in what seems to be a blink of an eye your tacos are done and waiting to be garnished by no one other than you. You’ll find the garnishes to the left of the flattop grill and it’s up to you to pick your toppings. The selection is plentiful between the cilantro, salsas, limes, and toppings the tacos become your canvas of love! But don’t forget about the.. ..Tienda (store) right behind the gentleman who makes these wonderful joys, is a door to Mexico itself. Finding all the joys of a Mexican tienda right here in Pittsburgh Pa!!!The store houses Mexican candies, spices, pops, and candy as well as a deli in the back. This place is a little piece of Mexico nestled into the college community of Oakland!

Not really a restaurant, more of a grocery store. There is a dude out front who grills your tacos 🌮. Tacos and everything he makes is very good 😌. definitely a super authentic place to go 🙏
Finn — Google review
Little grocery store is packed with good produce and fresh prepared goods as well as usual canned/bagged snacks and spices. Tacos in front are cheap and excellent for the price - many of the salsas have great heat and flavor. 4 stars because the area is somewhat dangerous and slummy (not safe at night or alone, especially for girls). Also the taco stand consistently fails health inspections year after year which isn't a surprise considering all the taco toppings just sit out exposed for hours a day. You better have an iron gut because there's a decent chance of getting some bug from here.

Duo's Taqueria in East Liberty, an establishment operated by the language learning company Duolingo, is a comprehensive restaurant that offers delectable tacos. With homemade tortillas and traditional fillings like suadero, pastor, cachete, lengua, nopales, and more, patrons are instantly transported to Mexico. The tacos at Duo's Taqueria are widely regarded as some of the finest in Pittsburgh.
I’ve been using Duolingo for years so imagine my surprise when I was invited to eat at the cafe with my aunt… the goat birria is a 10/10! The self construction makes me even happier. The horchata was also amazing! The service was really nice. You have to try it out! The guacamole was a nice surprise! We added extra lime and it kicked it off ☺️
Tahiyyah M — Google review
Did you know that Duo's Taco is actually in the Duolingo building (yes, the language learning app!) and owned by the same people? Fun fact! I really liked the interior and overall atmosphere—very cool and inviting. The service was great too—everyone was polite and courteous. We ordered guacamole and salsa as appetizers, and both were delicious. I also tried the pineapple hibiscus drink, which was just okay—not bad, but not my favorite. As for the tacos, you get 3 for $13, which isn’t bad. The tortillas were corn, handmade in-house, and absolutely delicious. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little small—I wish there was a bit more meat in them. Overall, though, a good experience. I’d go back!
Behn F — Google review
Duos is located in East Liberty. I the guacamole was freshly made. The flautas were good too. The goat birria was delicious very flavorful, it was served with five of the smallest tortillas I’ve ever seen, and toppings, and you build your tacos. The menu is kind of small not many choices, everything I ordered was tasty. The prices are high, the portions are small, but overall good experience
Scott M — Google review
Freshly made and flavourful guac. They refilled our chips after we finished with our first round. The burrito was absolutely delicious too and I’ve never tasted such a yummy green sauce that came with it. Went on labor day and overall a pleasant experience. It was overpriced in my opinion but worth a try
Tiffany C — Google review
Had such a great experience at Duo’s - the service is amazing, the ambience is great, and the food is fantastic! We didn’t have reservations for the night, but got seated at the full-service bar. The guacamole y totopos were great - the chips can be refilled which was great since the portion of guacamole was gigantic. We ordered the zanahorias (carrots) which were sooooo yummy - the carrots are so sweet and the beans gave it great balance. We also got the tacos estilo baja with the oyster mushrooms (mayo omitted) which were also very delicious. With the addition of refried beans on the side, this was a great meal for two of us! The mango agua fresca was also great! Appreciated the many vegan options, which are clearly marked on the menu, as well as other dishes that can be modified to be vegan. The service here was also very attentive and the staff gave great vegan recommendations! I’d highly recommend checking out Duo’s for a great dining experience! Cheers to the staff for the great service as well. We’ll definitely be back!
Kristen — Google review
Yes, you read that right—Duolingo, the language learning app, has a Mexican restaurant- Duo’s. And surprisingly— It’s not just a gimmick. Duo’s delivers authentic flavors in a warm, modern space that feels like a curated escape. The staff was welcoming, the cocktails were elevated, and the overall vibe was inviting—definitely built for groups, date nights, or anyone chasing a polished experience. I came specifically to try the suadero tacos—after eating my way through LA’s street taco scene, that cut has become a personal favorite. Unfortunately, they had just pulled it from the menu. I pivoted to the Al Pastor, and it was solid. Nice flavor, good execution. But here’s my honest take: the tacos are street-sized and priced like fine dining. If you’ve been in the taco game for real— and enjoy Spanish/Latin culture and food— not just riding the “Taco Tuesday” wave—you’ll know what I mean when I say— you’re going to Duo’s for the experience, not the value. The food is authentic, yes. But the pricing— Not so much. It’s A la carte. Which pulls away the true authenticity of Mexican / street tacos. Would I return— Maybe, if I’m in the area. It’s worth visiting once just to say you did.
K L — Google review
First, definitely ask for Megan. She had wonderful recommendations and described the food in wonderful detail. Next, the FOOD! Everything we had was fabulous. The tostada is a great introduction to their housemade tortillas and guacamole with a lovely thin slice of Ahi Tuna and sesame. It's extremely fresh and a must try. The chicarrones are also housemade and come out WARM. The berries is wholly indescribable, like a warm hug. It has the perfect amount of bite and smokiness. If you're willing to experience goat, get it here as it showcases all of its strength. Even the side of black beans usually a forgotten accoutrement, was delicious with pickled red onions. The accompanying salsa added heat and enhanced flavor. I did run of tortillas long before I ran out of birria, but that didn't dampen my enjoyment. The kanpachi is good, but the pickled jicama on the side is the real star. You must try the tamal de cacao. The tamal is masa and cocoa with whipped cream infused with corn, it is a corn desert but in the best way possible. Also the aguafresca(hibcusus pineapple) was extremely refreshing. The flavors melded, but it wasn't too sweet. The margaritas were also good, with the perfect ratio of tequila.
Samantha H — Google review
Duo’s was my first stop after arriving in PGH, and wow, what a welcome. The photo doesn’t do the food justice, but the flavors of the gringa al pastor were incredible. And the tamal de cacao recommendation? Unreal. Hands down the best first impression of PGH’s food scene.

Definitely go to other Mexican eateries if you’re craving Mexican food. The lunch special sounded nice and to be honest the portion was good, but still wasn’t worth it. The burrito was big but tasted odd and fell apart immediately. Had to eat it with a fork and knife which isn’t what you want from a burrito. It seemed to be missing cheese and for some reason had zucchini randomly in it. I really did not like the burrito and my stomach was upset all day. The lunch special comes with chips and salsa and two churros. I had to remind them about this part ten minutes in. The chips were fine but the salsa wasn’t the best. Actually tasted better dipping the chips in the dulce de leche that came with the churros. The churros were the best part of the meal tbh. So maybe come here if you’re craving churros and can’t find them anywhere else at the hour.

This was my first time here. It wasn’t busy at all. They make orders soon as you come in the door. The atmosphere was welcoming. I had the shrimp taco with cilantro Mexican style and we also got the steak taco and a mango fresco drink. We waited about 15-20 minutes for the food. Which wasn’t bad at all the food was nice and hot.

Amanda H — Google review
The birria pizza was outstanding the only thing I wish they did was put an additional layer of cheese on top to make it more “pizza” like. It’s basically an expensive quesadilla at this point but it still tasted good. Needed salt but I added some adobo once I got home and it was perfect
Stephanie F — Google review
I appreciate the late hours this restaurant is open until. As a night owl, I've been here many times. And every time, I have no regrets coming back. The best thing I've had so far is the quesadilla. Although its on the smaller side, it is incredibly good. Their menu isn't very long but this is still a great place to get authentic Mexican food
Shaquil S — Google review
So so good!!! Everything on the menu is delicious and worth every penny. Prices are reasonable and staff is super friendly!
Megan M — Google review
I heard about how great their food is, so I decided to go for lunch today. Upon arriving I waited at the counter to place my order for a little over 7 minutes while the 3 people working there chatted amongst one another and then finally decided it was time to come over to the counter. Once , I began placing my order the gentleman taking the order decided to try and rush me and became rude in the process because now more people were coming in. I told him exactly what I wanted in my burrito only to get it with everything that I didn't want and I had to eat it with a fork because it wasn't folded properly . When I lifted it to eat it everything came out of the bottom. So, by now I'm irritated although the food was delicious I wouldn't return because of the customer service received on my first and last visit. Since you're a small business you should try and keep the customers you have as well as the new ones coming in. Thanks but no thanks.

Nestled in the vibrant South Side of Pittsburgh, The Urban Tap is a must-visit gastro-pub that combines classic American cuisine with a modern flair. With an impressive selection of over 40 beers on tap, this trendy spot offers a unique dining experience in its cool industrial setting. Guests can indulge in creative dishes like BBQ brisket burgers and shrimp & grits while enjoying friendly service.
We were supposed to go somewhere else but the wait was too long. My friend called here and they were able to sit us right away. Coming with 5 kids and 3 adults we didn't know what to expect. The place was definitely not for kids , hence the no kids menus but we made it work since we were short on time. Our waiter was really nice. The food is definitely adult portions but really good. I got the chicken and waffles, I was happy to get the toppings on the side because I wasn't a big fan of the syrup and the coleslaw but the actual chicken and waffles were delicious. I would say the potatoes were the best part (I ordered a side dish). They were more seasoned than the potatoes. The other adults and kids enjoyed their food as well, of course we had to get to go boxes for the kids. Next time I come back I'm brining my husband so we can get the full experience.

Urban Tap is hands down one of the most amazing restaurants we’ve been to in a long time! The food was incredible, and the drinks were so creative and good, especially Mimosas 🍹✨ The girls and I pulled up at 11 AM for a pink-themed brunch yes, even the guys joined in 🤭💖. The greeter hyped us up right away with the sweetest compliments on our outfits, which made the experience feel even more special. I had the classic breakfast, and everything was perfectly cooked and super satisfying. I also got to try bites of the chicken and waffles so crispy and flavorful, paired with a touch of sweetness that just hit right 🔥🧇. The Anglaies French toast? Melted in your mouth. And don’t even get me started on the shrimp and grits creamy, savory, and seasoned just right. One of my coworkers ordered the Brisket omelet, and it looked amazing! Definitely on my list for next time. I’m already planning to go back for more of their creative themed brunches and I can't wait to finally try the dinner menu too! 10/10

On Friday, March 14, 2025, I had the pleasure of visiting The Urban Tap for dinner with a group of friends. This was my first time dining here, and it certainly left a great impression! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was lively and inviting. The restaurant was buzzing with customers, and the bar area was well-equipped with several large-screen TVs for sports enthusiasts. Despite the crowd, we had a great dining experience. Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish served to our group was well-prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned. Some of us even had leftovers to take home. It was evident that the chefs put great care into each meal, ensuring a satisfying experience for everyone. Parking near Carson Street can be tricky, but we were lucky to find a spot on our first go-around. Just a note for future visitors—The Urban Tap does have a dedicated parking lot, but you do have to pay to use it, even after 6 PM. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. Went for the Summerween themed brunch bc the past few themed brunches were 10/10. Giving 4 stars only because it was 85 degrees & humid outside & they didn’t seem to have tar AC on. It was HOT inside, we were dripping in sweat. But other than that everything was great. The service was awesome & the food was delicious! I ordered the shrimp & grits which was 10/10 I would order it again & again. We also ordered the waffle board which is always a great choice, I’m obsessed with the buttercream on top. Can’t wait for the next themed brunch!

It was our first time dining here. Stopped in for lunch. The menu had a lot to offer & not your regular "bar" food menu. This was some place unique & special. We both had the Grilled Pear Salad. It was delicious and plentiful. We could have split one & been satisfied. They offer craft beers but I'm a traditionalist & opted for a lite beer. The other had a non-alcoholic Mango Mojito. Very tasty.

Urban Tap on the SOUTHSIDE OF PITTSBURGH is a true gem for food lovers. I got the chicken biscuit and it did not disappoint—crispy, flavorful chicken on a perfectly baked biscuit with rich, savory gravy that tied it all together. Easily the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. The staff was polite and engaging, and the vibe was spot-on: cozy, energetic, and inviting. Great spot for brunch or a laid-back night out.

We recently had dinner here to celebrate my future sister-in-law finding her dream wedding dress! We were all so excited because it was a first-visit for everyone + the menu looked 🔥 Unfortunately the room was So loud we could barely hear each other across the table, there were huge flies (looked like horse flies which bite) swarming us throughout the meal, there were many were covering the floor by the windows, and sadly the service left Much to be desired… First off, the drinks menu failed to list Red Bull as a main ingredient in “Shipwrecked,” one of their specialty cocktails and the person who ordered it should not have caffeine due to a medication she’s taking— very dangerous!!! Multiple orders at our table came out wrong and in fact one person in our party had to send back her entree because of an allergy which she explicitly shared about when ordering. To top it all off, the remake wasn’t rushed which meant she didn’t get her food until AFTER everyone else at the table was done eating… not to mention it came out cold. No apology given by the server either who was inattentive at best. I will say: most of the food we had was delicious and the place was decently full of patrons so they’re clearly doing something right… I personally gave the food category a 4-star rating because my entree (the tuna appetizer) was phenomenal! 🍀

Mad Mex is a vibrant and modern chain restaurant with multiple locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. It's known for its generous portions of Tex-Mex cuisine and large margaritas. The restaurant offers a hip atmosphere with Dia de Muertos-themed decor and provides vegan options across its menu, including tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, and burritos. Customers can choose from protein fillings like portabella mushrooms or tofu, as well as opt for vegan cheese and sour cream substitutes.
I actually really liked this place. It’s located in a prominent part of the town with a lot of other restaurant and businesses, so this area is quite happening over the weekends. The restaurant itself is huge, and they have a perfect mix of indoor outdoor seating. It was quite busy when we visited. I wouldn’t call the food authentic Mexican, but it was still very tasty. We got the birria quesadilla and it was a flavour bomb. So good. We also got the nachos with chicken and again. It was very tasty. The chicken wings were just so so. I tried couple of their margaritas, and all of them were very, very good. My personal favourite is the mango. One which taste just like mango juice which I used to drink as a child. Also, the habanero Margarita is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The service was excellent and our server was so nice welcoming. It’s a great spot to hang out with friends.

Had a great time at Mad Mex Shadyside on an absolutely beautiful October day in Pittsburgh. My Apple Cider Margarita was delicious and I'm still thinking about how good it was a week later (which I normally don't do with Margaritas). I was so impressed with my roasted veggie bowl. The sauce on top was delicious and the mixed peppers and brussels went so well with the chicken - which was cooked perfectly. There were some larger brussel sprouts that were a bit hard but the smaller ones were amazing. My husband loved his burrito and it's a great size for the price! Our server was so sweet and attentive. I'm so glad they had the wall open to the outside and could seat us close to the outside. It was perfect!

Mad Mex was great! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and I especially love the decor. This is a beautiful restaurant and it is so fun. My one note is that the anniversary margarita was very salty for some reason, but the standard margarita that I got afterwards was delicious. This is a perfect Mexican joint with great specials and a wide array of choices to make everyone happy. Will be returning!

We had our dinner here. We took chicken/beef fajita and big burrito. The portions are big enough. Tastes were okay. Sauces were sufficient and service was good. Prices are reasonable.

My waitress Mikayla was amazing & my dinner (Grilled Steak & Street Corn tacos) was delicious! Mikayla was very sweet and brought refills very quickly. This location is often a bit loud but today wasn't bad. I had a birthday coupon so my entree was free, just paid for my drink and tip. Love this place and will be back 😊

Amazing Mexican restaurant, I highly recommend! Delicious food, big portions so the meal will last for 2 meals, guac is very good, great burritos! The waitress was amazing, and the ambience is super cool!

I have loved Mad mex for years but food quality has gone to crap at this one. When questioned why the basics have changed so much they said oh we are a test kitchen. I am adding pictures the sad looking chicken tenders are from this mad mex the other is the mad Mex by airport that was fantastic!! Highly disappointed. When the staff came out said oh all others are the same we aren’t. So they lack the quality that the other ones have. They offered to change dishes but waitress was MIA most of time never refilled drinks. Finally gave up and left wishing we would have drive to the other one.

Casa Reyna is a charming restaurant and bar located in The Strip District, offering a rustic and intimate atmosphere. Situated next to the popular Reyna Foods Mexican grocery, this eatery serves up fresh Mexican fare, with a focus on dishes made with their own freshly made tortillas. Guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor seating while indulging in a diverse menu featuring table side guacamole, tacos, fajitas, burritos, and more.
By far one of the best restaurants for Latina food I've ever had, delicious fair, well priced, and great drinks. Come here definitely if you're looking for a good eat in the strip district. they have one of those unique and eclectic menus for Latin food in the city. You have to try the enchiladas and the flan.

Didn't get food just some drinks. However, the bartender was great. Very knowledgeable on the various tequilas. The restaurant is located in the basement on Penn Ave across from PNC Bank. It's a very relaxing and cool atmosphere.

Definitely a great place to go for brunch on Sunday! Was not crowded and the food was excellent. The tortillas are as fresh as can be since they are made upstairs at Reyna Foods as well as the salsas! And you can't beat a sampler of 4 salsas and chips for $5!!! The breakfast tacos were filling and had just enough heat for me, I'm a wimp.

Penn Avenue Fish Co is a vibrant seafood restaurant with a loftlike setup, offering a variety of sushi and daily catches. The establishment is known for its popular salmon dishes, which have been a staple since the beginning. The menu includes classic fish sandwiches, fish tacos, crab cake sliders, Baja cod wraps, and an array of sushi options made with fresh fish delivered daily.
Best sushi I had in Pittsburgh. Not too pricey for the quality you are getting!!! I had the salmon belly, tuna roll, and oysters. All out of this world. I love the atmosphere of this place. I ordered, found a table and was able to watch them scratch make my sushi within minutes. Amazing service. I also love the semi self serve aspect they do, you can order anything, however many times you want at a counter, grab your own soup and drinks and then pay at the counter after you’re finished. I highly recommend for seafood lovers. Will most definitely be back.
Julia W — Google review
This restaurant has really fresh fish & seafood, great service, beautiful plating and we love the concept of the fishshop next to the restaurant. The self serve soups that you can try out were very nice too. We wanted to give this restaurant a 5 but there were a couple of dishes that were a bit of a letdown even though the produce was fresh. The dishes we loved were the benny roll, the seared ahi tuna, the grilled octopus & the fresh raw oysters. The unagi nigiri was subpar, and the spicy yellow tail roll was good but not great. The biggest letdown unfortunately was the main, which was the blackened snapper. Snapper portions were quite small for the price, underseasoned and could be better spiced, and dried out. Luckily the fish was fresh and so it was still edible. The asparagus & seaweed salad that came with were tasty, but the sauces we didn’t enjoy. We would definitely want to return to this spot if ever in Pittsburgh again to try out other things!

I give Pittsburgh a hard time for its (let’s be honest) underwhelming food scene, especially coming from someone who’s lived in a big city like Chicago her whole life and spent plenty of time eating my way through NYC, LA, and Vegas. My two years living here were rough in the culinary department… but leave it to me to move out of Pittsburgh before discovering its hidden gem: Penn Ave Fish Co. I was back in town for an appointment and to catch up with a close friend and finally tried this place and WOW. Easily the best meal I’ve had in Pittsburgh by far. The sushi, oysters, and seafood overall were the freshest I’ve found in the area (and most affordable on top of that). They don’t serve alcohol, but the staff went out of their way to let me know it was BYOB (I had no idea) and even helped direct us to the nearest liquor store so we could grab a bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio. Huge bonus: they brought out smoked salmon for our pups, totally on the house 🐾💛 We might’ve overstayed our welcome (they closed at 4 and we didn’t head out till about 4:30), but the staff was beyond kind. They never rushed us, just let us enjoy the food and the moment. Next time I’m in Pittsburgh, Penn Ave Fish Co is without a doubt where I’ll be spending my time. A true standout in a city that really needs one.

A foodie’s very satisfactory, Bona Fide exclusively fish/shellfish eatery in Pittsburgh 😎. NO MAMMALIAN NOR AVIAN foods here… None of those highly processed plant-based foods either 👍👍👍👍👍. +++ A draw to this place is also a market of a SELECT variety of fish and shellfish, which are cleaned/cut according to instructions of the customer👏👏👏… YES fish is fresh.. the very transparent fish eyes👀 prove it. The eatery itself is SELF-SERVICE, food ordered at the counter by the entrance. The ambience is quite pleasant 😎. The menu, printed on chalk boards, is mainly sandwich and “raw fish”, with a few cooked fish/shellfish.—- They are on pricey side! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 The fish soup counter is quite surprising. The MOST NOVEL is the Chili with a pescatarian twist. 🤩 The “sashimi” plate is very good… —— EXCEPT for that fake crab that should NEVER EVER be served calling it sashimi😡😡😡😡😡. —- This, quite frankly, is a culinary slur whether it’s American or Japanese raw fish eatery. 🫤😡🫤😡🫤 Seeing the “sushi rolls” served to the adjoining table, I can say, it’s not what I would order here: Too thick layers of rice and they are drowned in sauces. — Real sushi is simple, clean and fresh! None of those sauces that hide the flavor of fish. … I for one want my palate distinguish between tuna, salmon, eel or whatever! — BTW there is no such thing as vegan or vegetable sushi. It is ALWAYS fish. 😊 The Salad Bowl is very good, fresh cuts of vegetables, not from bag like so many other places. - The option of adding cooked fish or shellfish is a good touch BUT the sizes of it, is NOT worth $15 extra. Because it is a self-serve eatery, the wait staff simply bring the food and take away emptied plates.

super casual experience- you order at the window, self serve your drink and soup choices. They bring your order to your table and you pay after. I did ask if the blue crab soup was a bisque.... it wasn't, it was pasta e fagole, so i went for clam chowder instead (I'm not a soup person unless it's a cream base cause I'm weird.) The clam chowder was good. Big chunks of celery that i could easily pick out, thankfully. The sushi "lollipops" were delicious. I could eat a dozen of those things... but it was a perfect light lunch. this place had so much charm, and tons of options. thanks!!

Pleasant surprise in the strip. Easy going atmosphere a wide selection of fish based meals. The sandwich selection features new looks at time honored fish sandwiches. I had the teriyaki glazed tuna sandwich served with slaw. Seared to perfection and moist yet firm. Tremendous flavour and texture. There were three choices for bowls: chili, gumbo and shrimp/scallop bisque. The bisque was very good. Prices were very reasonable and service is fast. Highly recommend.

For anyone visiting from outside the city/state, this place is a MUST for food and drinks. I came here with very low expectations as I’m used to fine mexican dining cuisine, but this place blew my mind! The dishes were so tasty, perfectly proportioned and just delicious. My boyfriend, who’s mexican and myself ended up ordering 3 rounds of plates because the food was just so good. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place and I 200% recommend it for anyone in the area.

I’ve been here multiple times before. On this occasion we came for a friend’s birthday dinner, and it was a mediocre experience. There were 8 of us and we were seated at a table that sat 6 comfortably max. The drinks were decent, but the tacos are overpriced and never come out hot. I had the chorizo, which was fine but came without the potato. Some of my friends’ orders came out incorrect, which typically wouldn’t be a big deal but in this case was an allergy, and the food runner argued with him instead. Then the server blamed the mistakes on the kitchen, not a good look. The esquites were the only highlight of the meal. All in all, a good place for drinks and get your tacos elsewhere.

We were there yesterday for Valentine’s Day dinner and the food was excellent. They have so many vegan / vegetarian options which was helpful. I loved everything I ordered but especially their vegan chorizo taco. Love the lime kick in it. It was truly love at first bite. The waitron was very sweet and checked on us only when needed unlike many places where they keep intruding. Loved the atmosphere too!

Chicken restaurant
Latin American restaurant
Chicken Latino is a laid-back Latin American eatery that specializes in authentic Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes such as Peruvian chicken, carne asada, and ceviche. One of their signature dishes is the Pollo a la Brasa, which is marinated overnight and roasted in an authentic Peruvian oven.
I received some of the best customer service of any Pittsburgh restaurant at this place. And, the food was some of the best Latin American food I’ve had in a while as well. I got to try out their Peruvian chicken combo meal with chicken, yellow rice, beans, sweet plantains, yucca fries, and spicy green sauce, as well as their tres leches cake. Everything was delicious. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. Perfectly cooked, and not too fatty at all. The yucca fries were still crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and went perfectly with the green sauce, which was (as they said) quite spicy. The sweet plantains were also delicious and came in a great portion. Caramel iced well and thoroughly cooked. I like that they kept the beans separate, and they were really good as well. Almost fully melted in a way, that’s how creamy they seemed. Went well with the rice, which was soft but a bit plain. The tres leches was one of the best tres leches I’ve had in Pittsburgh. So soft, sweet, and delicate. The perfect amount of each of the milks. And, it looked pretty beautiful as well. All in all, I highly recommend this place. One of the hidden gems of Beechview. Very nice owner, great customer service, amazing food and great portions.
Ulyana K — Google review
Chicken Latino, an authentic Peruvian restaurant located on Broadway Avenue in Beechview, serves contemporary Peruvian cuisine inspired by a fusion of flavors from around the world. Chef, owner, and manager Shelbin Santos is the sweetest woman and incredibly talented in the kitchen. She even imported a special wood-fired brick oven from Peru, allowing her to cook signature dishes in a truly authentic Peruvian style. The food is absolutely fantastic! While there, I had the chance to try a variety of dishes. To start, we quenched our thirst with traditional Peruvian Inka Cola, a popular and delicious fruity drink with hints of coconut, banana, and pineapple—refreshing and unique! We also tried chicha morada, a traditional and healthy purple corn juice that is both sweet and flavorful. As we browsed the incredible menu, we snacked on warm, freshly made corn tortilla chips with salsa—an irresistible start! For the main dishes, the lomo saltado was a standout. This traditional Peruvian-Asian beef stir fry, served with white rice over fries, was bursting with flavor. The chicken quesadilla was massive—a 12" tortilla stuffed with chicken, rice, beans, and Mexican cheese, served with sour cream and salsa. It was the biggest, cheesiest, most satisfying quesadilla I’ve ever had! One of the highlights of the meal was the Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken, a staple of their menu. The chicken is marinated overnight in their secret seasonings and roasted to perfection in the authentic brick oven. Served with house-made spicy green chili sauce, it was juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Their green chili sauce is so fresh and tasty that they even sell it by the bottle! We ordered the rotisserie chicken combo, which allowed us to sample some of their signature sides—rice and beans, plantains, and yuca—all incredibly fresh and well-prepared. Their burritos are also huge, with various filling options. I opted for chicken, which was stuffed inside a soft tortilla with rice, beans, and Mexican cheese—all for under $10! Talk about a steal! To top it all off, I was surprised with a slice of their tres leches cake, a rich and moist three-milk cake topped with caramel and strawberries. It was the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal. If you're looking for authentic Peruvian flavors, generous portions, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Chicken Latino is a must-visit!

I had a fried burrito and it was tasty. Not off the charts or anything, but it was good and well priced. It was just shredded chicken and cheese served with small containers of guacamole, salsa and sour cream. The service was wonderful, I'm confused about the one star reviews regarding the service. Our waitress was very kind and attentive.

Please go here. This is some of the best food I’ve ever had. The amount of food you get for the price is amazing. Almost everything is made in house. You can taste the passion going into each dish. I love the chicken quesadilla here or the chicken burrito. The plantains are to die for!

They catered for an event of ours, and they were quick to respond and early for delivery. They called the day before to ensure all the details and everything was correct. We got chicken, fried yuka and sweet plantains for our catered lunch; it was a hit! Everyone loved the food!

The pork and chicken quesadillas were packed with flavor—tender meat, perfectly grilled, and loaded with melted cheese inside a crispy tortilla. The real star was the green salsa—creamy, zesty, and just the right amount of heat. Paired with an ice-cold Inca Kola, the whole meal was a delicious blend of savory and sweet. Highly recommend for a satisfying, flavorful bite!

Moe's Southwest Grill is a vibrant counter-service restaurant that specializes in serving up delicious Southwestern favorites, from hearty burritos to cheesy nachos. This popular chain has made quite a name for itself, especially in the Pittsburgh area, where locals rave about its flavorful offerings. While dining in can be an enjoyable experience, many patrons also appreciate the convenience of takeout and catering options available at Moe's.
I ordered take out and was super pumped to get my food. Kinda disappointed it was kinda soggy when it got to me since all sauces and toppings were on top and there was no option to get any on the side. I wasn't a fan of the cookie. Was excited for the free chips and salsa and they forgot both of the salsa that was ordered. The steak wasn't bad but I actually preferred the salad with out the meat once it had no meat. The portions were nice for the price.

NOT A MOES! Don’t be fooled, you have to order on a screen and when you see your food you have not half of what you ordered. We specifically asked how to ask for extra rice in both and it doesn’t have extra rice. There is zero pico on both which asked for double. No cilantro. I’m pissed at this place. Super weird and horrible vibe and I literally paid for not half what you get at ANY other real moes where you can see them doing it in front of you and ask for more or less. They rate it on 1 up I guess so by default u get 1/10th of a portion. What a complete rip off of a business model. Shut this place down because it’s an absolutely disgusting disgraceful embarrassment, and it is not a Moes I don’t care what the sign says. Completed rip off.

First of all, the to go counter was locked so I had to talk inside. About half of the time I go here the to go counter is closed. I opened the door and there is a massive line of people waiting. After fishing my way through the crowd, I go to the counter pick up my food. I try and leave through the exit door but it just leads to a patio that's completely closed off. That has to be a fire hazard because the door clearly says exit. So I had to go back inside fight through the crowd again to leave. All of this just to get back to my desk and find a tiny amount of food. I got a salad but they forgot the LETTUCE. This place is trash.

I've been buying lunch here for a couple of years now, and the food used to be consistently good. However, over my last three visits, the quality has noticeably declined—especially the rice. It’s been undercooked each time, leaving it crunchy and half-done. I initially thought it was a one-off issue, but the same problem persisted on my next two visits

Couldn’t even scrap them out

I ate there a few days ago and the 1st guy taking my order was mumbling, only saying half of his words and got mad when i askrd him "excuse me, i can't hear you?" Horrible attitude and he "huffed" because he had to take an order. He did it to the guy in gront of me too. I guess that should of been the red flag that made me just turn around and leave and never come back. The Rice was undercooked like it was leftover from yesterday. He barely put in any of the halfcooked chicken in there, it was all rice, which as i look back i'm thankful for now. The 2nd girl tried to rush me through and "huffed" too when i asked for the toppings, like it was an inconvenience for her to do her job or give me what i paid for. Then she yelled "move on down." 3rd girl, took cash from the guy in front of me, then went over and was touching food without washing her hands or even putting gloves on. Then, was talking personel stuff to her coworker for a minute before deciding to get back to work. As she got to me she, "huffed" too. "Is that it?" Threw the burrito in the bag like she was mad. The chips were all scraps, tiny broke up pieces that were days old. Then, at the card reader, this place has the nerve to automatically go right to leaving a tip? It took a second to figure out how to say 0 tip. And i always tip, but refuse to when they treat the customers like crap. But i will give them 1 tip, get a new personality and attitide. Your restaurant needs to fire that crew. Disgrace to your place. The place was trashed. Food was horrible. Queso tasted like it was burnt. I learned my lesson though, if the 1st person who is supposed to greet you and start your order is shitty, just walk away because it will only get worse. 2 different tables were complaining about their food as i sit there watching the 3 workers do the same thing to other customers, so i didn't take it personally. Nor did i take it back to complain because they were rude the 1st time through, so calling them out would have just caused a scene. I won't ever eat there again. I'm glad i didn't get food poisoning. Sounds like this is a common thing reading these reviews.

This is such a a gross Moe's compared to the ones down in Florida and I forgot that places in Pittsburgh require a code for the bathroom 😭 I mean you could make sure your bathrooms and pristine if you are gonna require people pay first. That's another thing, you can't aquire the code before purchasing your meal and I sure as heck wouldn't want to leave my food next to random customers while I pee before eating LOL.

Washington for an enjoyable dining experience with a view of Pittsburgh's skyline.
Excellent, everything was amazing! Service was perfect, fast, friendly, knowledgeable. Food was SO Wonderful!! Flavors and presentation impeccable! Prices unbelievable for the quality. Loved our experience- must do!! We loved Sierra, she was wondering!!!!!

Good place to eat after going up the incline. Food was good, service was good, prices were normal for these days. The rueben was good and was a large sandwich. The tacos came with three generously sized tacos. The nachos were good and the pork fries were good. I would give the food above average. Portions were excellent. When you're done eating you can enjoy the view across the road at the observation deck.

Food was very disappointing. The grilled cheese lux was more bread than cheese and slightly cold. There was nothing “luxurious” with that meal. The pizza tasted like a frozen store bought pizza. We also had a burger with fries, that was the only good meal that we ordered.

Me and my fiancé went out for date night up to Mount Washington. I had this place on my bucket list to come We had few drinks and something small to eat. We like the open doors. It did rain but was nice and refreshing. We had the smokehouse fries. I also had kicking mule and espresso martini and my fiancé had two peach cobbler martinis. The bartender working Saturday night was extremely friendly. We will be returning. There is a parking lot behind and it’s not horrible price to park. $12 bucks but I think it worth it.

This was a fantastic find! Sat outside, fantastic weather (3 Aug). Waitress did fantastic job (Raiin)! Had blueberry cobbler sour/hazy IPA/espresso martini. Food was the jackfruit tacos and cauliflower sliders... All very yummy. The music was right-on target, and a perfect volume (enjoyable, but still able to talk in a normal voice... Thanks!) We could see making this a hangout, if we did not live 500 miles away!

I had a Blue Inferno Burger which was pretty good. Nice and spicy. My wife had a Grilled Cheese Lux which was mostly bread and very little cheese. I mean it's a grilled cheese sandwich. Shouldn't the cheese stand out a bit? I saw another review that said there was very little cheese as well so this is not the exception. I also found it odd that they chose to serve our entrees on what I would consider a dessert plate rather than a dinner plate. Maybe they were short on plates that night. It was kind of cramped and I had to move everything around to make room for some ketchup on my plate.

Stopped in after the incline ride! Nice place and the bartender was very nice and helpful. Salads were good and the wings were hot and fresh!

The place was wonderful! The cafe is very clean, not dirty, the food was very tasty (although the burger was almost not salty, but for me it was a plus), the employees are kind, not in a hurry. I came here with my family (it is unlikely that we will be there again because we live in another state) I love this place! It may look like a bar, but it's a cute cafe ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Mexican restaurant
Gordo's Tacos & Tequila in Point Breeze is a popular Mexican restaurant that offers delicious food and drinks. The restaurant has a traditional Mexican atmosphere with an emphasis on family tradition and cooking together. The tacos are all individually priced, but the portions are fair. The guacamole, elote (corn on the cob), chorizo nachos, brisket quesadilla, and assortment of tacos were all tasty.
My experience here was a really good one, I was here last week with family for hh. We had a great time as usual when we're all together. Our waiter was the best! I can't remember his name, because I suffer from CRS( can't remember ( sugar, honey, icetea)! You decode it lol. Anyway he is pictured with us. Everything about this experience was on point! Gordo's owes me nothing, and I will return.

We got the combination where you got two tacos and chips and salsa. The chips with the roasted tomato salsa was really good but didn't like the queso. She got the shrimp pipian which was pretty good and she got the mahi which I didn't like as much. I ordered the barbacoa flower and that was pretty good but the carne asada one wasn't real good how's the meat was a little tough. Was a little expensive for tacos
Art T — Google review
Although there weren’t a lot of people, the service was some of the best I’ve ever had in a long time in Pittsburgh. Our server was kind, courteous and on top of any and all of our needs. The food was exceptional. Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, delicious salsa, the chips were amazing. The hot sauce was some of the best that I’ve had since visiting Costa Rica many years ago.
Bethany V — Google review
The black bean and queso dips are totally tasteless. The queso didn’t even seem like cheese—it was a just a white glob—even salt didn’t help. The verde was good. I’ve had the carrot tacos here and margs and they’re pretty good. But this restaurant could definitely use some help in crafting better recipes.

** Update ** 🌮 Taco Tuesday Highlight 🌮 I am very pleased to continue giving Gordo's an all around 5 🌟 review. We visited on Tuesday night for Taco Tuesday. At Gordo's the tacos are priced individually and on Tuesdays they are offered at $2 off. Gordo's makes great craft cocktails. I had the Spiked Horchata and my Mom had a Tequila Sunrise. Both were really good. We tried the Taquitos appetizer and they were delicious. For our tacos, we each had three, five different "flavors". Every one was delicious. The Shrimp Pipian and Chicken Verde Mole -these two were the most traditionally Mexican in flavor and style. The Nashville Hot Chicken Taco is a fan favorite and style expertly seasoned and prepared. My Mom really enjoyed the Chorizo and Potato Taco. And our surprise favorite was the flavor-bomb, Roasted Carrot Taco. It is just jam packed with smoky, sweet flavor. It's such a a delicious bite. A visit here is not complete without the excellent Churrolis to cap off the meal. I definitely recommend a visit to Gordo's. ** Original Review ** Gordo's is great! Let me preface this review by saying I love Nashville Hot Chicken but outside of Nashville, TN is has been difficult to find a "hot" chicken that compares to what I've had in Tennessee. Some other places around the Burgh have Nashville Hot Chicken but the spice combinations don't work. At Gordo's the Nashville Hot Chicken Taco is so good with a perfect spice blend. It tastes like hot chicken tacos that I had at Pie Town Tacos in Nashville. Gordo's is the place in Pittsburgh to satisfy your hot chicken craving. Not to mention, their other menu items are delicious too. And they have great margs. My second favorite menu item is the Churoli- A churro and cannoli hybrid that rocks!

Fast food restaurant
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a popular fast-food chain known for its Mexican cuisine, allowing customers to customize their burritos, tacos, and bowls. One of its locations can be found on a college campus, making it a favorite spot for students. While it may not offer sit-down dining, there are plenty of nearby spots where patrons can enjoy their food.
Nice and efficient staff. Good music and atmosphere inside. It is nice they have a parking lot even though it is small, but for the area not a lot of restaurants do. The restaurant has plenty of seats for being a small size chipotle. They have bar style seats facing the glass wall and you can see the street. Food was good!

Great Mexican bowl! Sour cream, grilled steak, cheese, salsa are great! However, there's a bug on the lettuce
儒儒 — Google review
It’s obvious they’re hurting for staff for a number of reasons. I live nearby and it’s always different people. The trash bins are always full and dining room always dirty. The line areas (both) look incredibly messy. Last week I placed an online order and when I got there at the time it was supposed to be ready it was not. No big deal, so she made my bowl very quickly. She gave me a large container of Guac and said she was out of little containers but that she just doesn’t care. Now, as much as I love free guacamole I don’t love to hear from people handling my food that they don’t care about the restaurant and presumably my food they’re handling. The rice in that bowl was chunky and the guac tasted off. I didn’t eat my order because it was really awful. I appreciate the girl giving me extra guac but telling customers you don’t care about the food you’re serving them is a big turn off. I probably won’t ever return here. It’s a shame because I live super close and I would love to be able to eat there more often. Sadly this chipotle seems like every one I have been to in the last few years. This whole chain has gone WAY DOWN HILL.
Bobby S — Google review
I went for lunch one day right around 11:30 am so it was clean and only one table was occupied, no line for food. The woman who made my bowl was so friendly and did a great job and complimented her coworker on how good her steak is which I thought was kind of sweet. And she was right, it was delicious! I've been to a lot of Chipotles and this is my favorite. I recommend going early if you can because the food is fresh, hot, and plentiful.
Louise S — Google review
Like maybe serve a bit less? Ordered from Uber eats because the Chipotle app doesn't allow to change where to deliver from. Understandable to pay extra fees, but this is the smallest portion I had ever been served and they missed two toppings, thank you.
Felipe C — Google review
This is the worst Chipotle I’ve ever been to. My partner ordered three tacos that were half empty, and the sour cream they put on them was liquid. I “had” a chicken bowl that I didn’t finish because of how cold and & rubbery the chicken was. I also ordered a bag of chips (they were too hard) with queso blanco (which honestly was the only thing that was good). Overall, the price was ridiculous for what we got. And most tables were dirty & greasy. I’ll never go back to this location. Especially having Emiliano’s less than 1min from there.
Clara B — Google review
BARELY gave me any chicken. or anything else. then said it was because i didn’t order that much. should’ve never came here
Taylor B — Google review
Don’t order take out from this location. They’re extremely careless and lazy with to go orders. This is how my tacos came. I only moved one to the right to show how the sour cream was just thrown on the container. Chicken, rice, lettuce and cheese are spilled all on the sides instead of in the tacos. This has happened several times with tacos to burrito bowls. Several times my order was thrown together, sloppy and poorly made. Doesn’t make it better that some of the staff here are rude and unprofessional. I’ll take the extra commute to the Centre Ave location going forward.

Nestled in the heart of Pittsburgh, El Sabor is a charming eatery that celebrates Latin American cuisine with an inviting and laid-back atmosphere. This delightful spot offers a diverse menu featuring both traditional and innovative dishes, including vegetarian options. The highlight here is undoubtedly their impressive margarita selection; from the classic Penn margarita to adventurous choices like the Spicy Grapefruit and Frozen Cilantro Margarita, there's something for every palate.
Absolutely one of the tastiest Mexican foods I've had in a long time. Loved it!! Ordered chicken quesadillas and shrimp ceviche and they both were perfect!! The spicy sauce with ceviche was too spicy for me but I liked it. I didn't like my Tijuana style (soft corn flour) tacos because they were soggy when I got them at home, so I'll probably try the Pittsburgh style (flour tortillas) for tacos.

Came here today with my friends and our server Brad was on point! He was very attentive, came to check on us, and recommended some good drinks to us! The food was very delicious and the portion size was huge - I loved the shrimp ceviche especially because it came with plantain chips instead of traditional tortilla chips! The restaurant has a very intimate vibe to it and everyone was friendly. P.S. ABSOLUTELY get the fried ice cream! My friends loved their salad, soups, and fajitas and we all agreed to come back!

This is my 2nd time here. First time was a year ago. Both times were take out orders. First time I went food was amazing. This time we just ordered 2 chicken quesadillas. By time we went to pick up our order it was already 5 min past the time they said it will be ready. We sat there for almost 30 min due to them saying they had a catering order to get out. Mind you there were only 6 other customers there. While waiting they didn't offer any chips since we had to wait. Once we got our food, drove 5 min to get home just for my chicken quesadilla to look and taste how it looks. Never in my life have I had a soggy quesadilla, not even from Taco Bell. I'm so disappointed in the lack of quality they gave us. When have you ever been ble to stick a fork in a well prepared quesadilla.

Small little hole in the wall restaurant in Penn Avenue. It's pretty cute on the inside. I sat at the bar and we were served pretty quickly. The bartender was very nice. I ordered the Fajita Trio with Steak, Shrimp and Chicken. The beans were watery and the rice was bland and hard. I will say that the steak was a decent flavor as well as the peppers and onions. For a quick bite it wasnt bad but I do prefer other places to this one.

Best fajitas in Pittsburgh! I struggled to find good fajitas in Pittsburgh for the longest time and am so happy to have found El Sabor. Their Pastor tacos, street corn and yucca fries are also some of my other favorites. Always a great atmosphere and Staff is super friendly.

Dropped into El Sabor while visiting Pittsburgh—wanted to see how their tacos stacked up. For the area, they’re decent. Nothing groundbreaking, but they hold their own. I went with the chorizo. It was well-balanced, not greasy, and had a nice flavor. The drinks were just okay. The service was good and the vibe was chill enough for a casual bite. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving Mexican, El Sabor’s a solid option—but not something I’d go out of my way for.
K L — Google review
Good place for friends to hang out. Wide selection of food and alcohol. Very good flavor. They have a mix of a lot of Latin American food — Mexican, Brazilian. It is not like your typical cheap Mexican place where you order at a cheap price and get a lot, but it was a decent and flavorful meal for me. The waitress was friendly too. The only thing I need to complain is the place is noisy, so do not treat your granny or colleagues here.
Huayun H — Google review
Had dinner for the first time about 2 months ago with my son and daughter-in-law, who frequent the restaurant. I wanted to treat them to dinner to celebrate before my granddaughter was born. The service was great and the food amazing. Also prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. Tonight my son picked up our order to go and yet again El Sabor did not disappoint. The food was amazing and I am in a Mexican food coma right now. I got the dinner combo. I would have never imagined I would try sweet plantains let alone really enjoy them. Your street corn is really good, as is your chili rellano and enchilada. Thank you for the excellent service. You are a new favorite for me.

Täkō Tôrtä is a unique fusion restaurant that combines Mexican street food with Japanese cuisine. The restaurant offers playful window seating, perfect for enjoying warm days. Their street-style tacos are highly recommended, especially when ordered as a platter to sample different types of meat. Reservations can be challenging to secure, so planning ahead is essential. The atmosphere at Täkō Tôrtä is laid-back and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar.
We had an event at Bakery Square and were running late, but stopped in to see if we could grab something quick to eat. To my surprise they were able to get us food and drinks in a flash and had us on our way quicker than I could have hoped, the tako taco is still one of my favorites, chips were fresh, queso was really tasty and had just a hint of spice that made it that much better. My go to drink is a jalapeno margarita, and I was able to tear through one before we had to dash to our next stop. We will definitely be back when we can spend more time, I can't wait to visit in the summer time.

Great place for pleasant dinner. Reasonable prices for good quality food. Outside seating, pet and children friendly. Wait servers professional and helpful. We were surprised to see a robot helping with serving food but we had human assistance.

It's good, fish taco was great. The Tako was a little hard to eat, maybe smaller octopus pieces or segmented. Pricey but very fresh. Esquites had good flavor, but on the menu says "off the cob" yet it was served on the cob. No big, more traditional, would've liked the cilantro garnish to be picked off the stems to make the garnish more functional without having the customer do the work. Nonetheless it was tasty. Queso dip was a hit, had almost like a beer cheese flavor and consistency.

If I'm going to pay over $5 for a single taco, I would pay it here. Inventive, tasty, and overall decent. If I still consumed alcohol, I would be more excited about the plethora of fruity cocktail options too 🤗 Soft shell taco shells tasted deep fried... Prefer if they weren't but it's definitely a cute spot to stop by for drinks with a friend. Decor is colorful & photo opp friendly

Cool atmosphere with a nice outdoor and indoor space. Service at the bar was nice. It isn't full service. After we ordered at the bar, we picked up the food at the pickup window. The menu is all online, which I don't mind, actually prefer. The food was good, and we were full, but the price was a bit of a shock for not having full service. We ended up spending around 70 dollars for 2 drinks, an app, and two entrees. Overall, we liked the place and would rate it higher if it wasn't so pricey. Might try to check out their happy hour sometime.
Dave P — Google review
If you know their downtown PGH location, then the one in Bakery Square is going to be a massive disappointment. There's virtually zero service. You go up to the counter and order, you pick up your food after you get a text message that it's ready, you eat, and then you bring away your tray and clean up your table. Yet they turn around their tablet at checkout and expect you to tip 20%. The food was good but cold. It does not merit the $65 we spent there for a dinner for two people (two taco dishes, one starter, two drinks). The drinks and the overall atmosphere in the place were good, the interior is nice. That alone does not save it for me, I won't be coming back. You're way better off going to the Galley at Bakery Square or any other place nearby.

This is an interesting restaurant. First of all, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. They serve your food in a different way - you order at the cash register, they give you a number, they make your food and put it at a shelf, and you would pick up the food at the numbered shelf that was given to you. The food was not bad, it has a very interesting blend of food that I haven't tried before. I just wish I get more food that i received for the price that I paid. You get such a small plate of food and it's not filling!

El Burro Dos is a delightful fusion of Californian and Mexican culinary traditions, making it a must-visit for burrito lovers in the area. Known for their exceptional burritos, including standout options like carnitas and chile relleno, this charming spot also offers affordable tacos and sides under $10. While the breakfast burrito exceeds that limit, other choices such as rice and bean or vegan chorizo burritos are budget-friendly.

Good place for a vegan to get their Mexican fix—quite a few vegan options. (Check out their menu on their website, because it’s more extensive than the menu inside the restaurant.) I was into the small-town-on-the-Mexican-border vibe. Minor constructive feedback: Boyfriend and I thought the hot sauce tasted like weak tomato water

A nice place to get some food and drink. We went for a Paws Across Pittsburgh event as they were supporting them by getting donations. A donation got you a drink ticket. They had a DJ, tequila tastings, and a raffle basket too. The margarita was delicious and so were the nachos. My husband got the burrito and it definitely could have been spiced more but I understand why it's not.

This is a very cute spot on the Regent Square high street. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. They have a nice patio out back and serve some of the best taquitos I've ever had. However their menu isn't super diverse and it still can't quite break through the upper bounds to qualify as "great Mexican food." I'd stop here for lunch on a sunny day and chill on the patio.

First upon walking in the restaurant was quaint and small but pretty well managed. The server was friendly and attentive as well. The food at this restaurant was pretty decent. The chicken had a decent flavor and depending on the item from the menu you got a great portion size. The soups are a huge portion and really good tasting as well. I got the chicken fajitas this is where I said the chicken tastes really good but the portions aren't that big. I also got a pineapple strawberry margarita. It was so good and they put fresh fruit in it as well! So yummy and worth the price!

Caution: Enter at Your Own Risk This place serves food with the same energy as a DMV on a Monday morning—cold, lifeless, and soul-crushing. The entrée arrived colder than my ex’s heart, and the dip was the temperature of a sad bath that’s been sitting out since 2003. As for the drinks? Imagine licking a battery soaked in discount sour mix. Yum, right? The service? Oh, it was slow… not “busy restaurant” slow—more like “they forgot we existed and maybe hoped we’d leave” slow. By the time we got our food, I had seen the stages of grief twice. If you’re looking for a waste of time, money, and hope, congrats—you’ve found it. If not, do yourself a favor: set your money on fire instead. At least it’ll be warm, unlike the meal. If disappointment were a restaurant, this would be its flagship location!

Super cute little place with delicious food and friendly service. The covered outdoor patio was really nice. Very, very good Mexican spot. Everything I had from this place was very tasty. I wanted to try quite a variety of items from this spot, including the quesadilla, platanos Fritos, and the tres leches. Every single thing I had was very good. To start, the main meal, the quesadilla, was quite filling. They served it with complimentary rice. The rice was surprisingly flavorful, and had a great soft texture. The quesadilla itself was also quite good, filled with a nice amount of cheese. Simple but tasty. The platanos Fritos were also excellent. The plantains themselves were sweet and soft. Almost worthy of being a dessert. The cheese they had on top was a bit unnecessary in my opinion, as it was stringy and tasted a bit like plastic. But still, very good overall. The tres leches was an excellent dessert to end off the night. So creamy, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. They definitely do not hold back on the whipped cream here (which was a tad excessive). All in all, a very nice Mexican spot. I would definitely come again. Enjoyed everything I had.

I wanted to like this place as I had seen so many good mentions in one of FB groups. When my food came it was cold. I think they spent more time on my boyfriend’s dish and let mine sit. We went at about 5:00 and hardly no one was in there. My bf did say his sandwich was good and he tried my cold dish and said it tasted good. I won’t go back.

Patron Mexican Grill is a beloved Mexican restaurant and bar located in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh, with five other locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. The family-owned establishment offers an extensive menu featuring fantastic Mexican dishes prepared with care and love. The food is known for its quality and generous portions, making it a popular choice for authentic Mexican cuisine in Pittsburgh. Patron Mexican Grill also provides a full bar menu and can accommodate parties of up to 180 people.
We decided to try this restaurant after we didn’t get any service at another restaurant. The service was much better; however, the young man could have been a bit more attentive. The food was a little bit expensive compared to what we are used to but the amount of food was good and tasted good. The special food and drinks were great! The margaritas were great tasting!

This is a great 3.5 star place. Standard mexican fare, consistent, and always enjoyable for almost everyone. Vibe is lively and fun. Service is always great. Food is standard mexican for American but always nice and good. I always enjoy it. While it’s not blow your mind or super creative, that’s not an issue and not the point. Prices are fine if not a bit more expensive. What isn’t though I think patrons is a classic staple - what you expect, what you like. It’s like a great average. I often go, and I am always satisfied.

I stopped by for lunch with my family. Our waiter was very nice. The music was nice. We all got something different, I got an enchilada. I was not a huge fan. The sauce tasted like it just sat in a can, I didn’t even eat it. They did take it off my tab which I was grateful for. The fajitas were very good. The steak tacos were very good. My mom got the chimichangas and she really loved them. The rice was extremely flavorful. I would go back for the rice alone. I’m also a huge fan of the lunch prices. I’ll be back for sure.
Maryum S — Google review
Food is decent but I enjoy the atmosphere and the service staff a lot more. The steak that I got was great piece and the shrimp is a big size. One thing I would recommend to improve on is the tostados. The shell is slightly soggy because all the juices are absorbed, making it harder to eat by hand.

We were here strictly for the “Margrona” on the rocks and it was so cute and tasty! 🍸 Complimentary warm chips and Salsa are served here! Bartender was awesome. 👍🏽 We have eaten here before as well and we have enjoyed the all items we’ve tried. The walls are covered with bright and colorful artwork and neat decor throughout this venue. Very inviting. Not bad for a small Pittsburgh chain. We enjoyed our mini visit.

Took me to go find someone to wait on me at the bar. Then I wanted my check, I got my check, I placed my credit card in the sleeve and it took them over 10 minutes to process my credit card. Every time I come to Pittsburgh, I come here however the service here sucks. Food is great here, service sucks!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the burgh! Food is so good and that Cajun queso dip is fire! Service is always top notch and I'm never disappointed, lots of seating in a nice cool atmosphere as well

Great service! Prices I thought at first were a little high until I saw the plates and realized its about 2 dinners worth per dish. The salsa was so fresh, nothing like the canned chunky stuff. It had a nice kick to it. Will definitely come back, probably with a larger appetite!

Smoke is a taco restaurant that specializes in BBQ meats. The brisket is especially famous and it is incredibly tender, smokey, and flavorful. The tacos are wrapped in soft tortillas and the sides include a hot bowl of cheese or pinto beans. Divinely crunchy house made tortilla chips provide the perfect texture to complement all of the flavors.
I've enjoyed takeout from Smoke for years and finally dined in, before they close. Not only is the food delicious, but the cocktails are too--and strong! The food is a little expensive, but high-quality and filling; I love the fried chicken taco, burnt ends brisket taco, and the mac & cheese. The restaurant has a casual but cool vibe. The staff were kind and attentive, even during the dinner rush. I'll miss having this place around.

I really quite enjoyed this place. They sell donuts on the weekends in addition to their regular Mexican offerings, and I am so glad I decided to come on a weekend. I tried out their glazed donut holes, glazed donut, and Mac n cheese. Very simple, but done so well. The Mac n cheese was very tasty. It has flavorful breadcrumbs on top with tons of cheesy, creamy sauce all inside. It might be a bit too rich and creamy for my taste, but it’s still very enjoyable. The only real down side is that it is quite expensive for Mac n cheese, even with the very nice portion. Both of the donuts were absolutely excellent. Again, so glad I went on the weekend. The glazed donut, although again a bit expensive, it was delicious. Definitely homemade. Soft on the inside and perfect glaze. The donut holes were equally delicious; a lovely bite sized treat, soft and flavorful. I thought it was very good overall. A bit pricey, but I still recommend this place for sure.

Stopped in for a quick bite during the during the day so I had the place to myself lol. They were friendly and pretty quick. I happened to be there during happy hour and had their house margarita and steak tacos. It was all perfect full of flavor not lacking at all. Tacos were small but this was expected and explained prior to ordering. I will be returning forsure. My server did ask if I had any dietary restrictions was really nice.

Came here with a group of friends as a group of 5. The decor was really cute and created a nice atmosphere. The restaurant even conveniently lets you order through square and you pay when you order, including tip. That’s a great business model for a restaurant that doesn’t provide you food for 40 minutes. The restaurant was empty when we got here. There’s really no excuse for SMOKE to have taken so long with the food. Drinks were prompt and came minutes after our order. The food was extremely salty and the regular tacos looked like burritos and only had meat in them. The special tacos had other toppings in them which was more worth it. This restaurant definitely wasn’t worth the LONG wait or the price.

Smoke is my favorite place to eat. Smoked bbq meats on tacos. All food made in house from scratch with quality ingredients. Everything on the menu is excellent. If you stop on a Sunday make sure to try a donut, the best you’ll ever eat!

Amazing food! If the Burnt Ends are available, they are A MUST! All of the tacos I had were very flavorful and had so much meat! The atmosphere is very casual and friendly! Local drinks and mixed drinks are fantastic. The Brisket is also darn near perfect (if not perfect)!! A great restaurant all around!

Food: I ordered the brisket special, the ultimate fried chicken taco and the chorizo taco. The tacos were too saucy with melted cheddar and mayo. There was not much flavor. There were no condiments or salsas Service: The tacos came 45 mins after I ordered with no apology from the staff for the poor service Price: 9.00$ a taco is way too expensive. You are better of going to Condados for a similar text mex taco with more customization, better condiments and better taste at a much friendlier price point. You have to pay upfront including the tip. Vibe/Ambience: The atmosphere is nice

I’ve played here as entertainment many times, the owner is a seriously great dude and creates a great work environment for the employees who are also very kind and go above and beyond to make sure you get what you need, and fast! It was the first time I ate here tonight before the show and I absolutely loved it! I got a burrito with steak, rice and cheese and it was extremely delicious! We also ordered chips and queso which were really great too! 10/10 recommend this place if you’re in the area!

Five stars for the staff!! But that food was beyond bland. Having lived in El Paso may have contributed to this but that taco meat had zero flavor. Very generic. Definitely overpriced. Guacamole was ok.. Was not a fan. But like I said, staff was AWESOME.
Brielle G — Google review
Don't sleep on this spot. The food is really delicious, the tacos are stuffed! I've certainly seen much smaller tacos for more money. The burritos are great and the chips are awesome. Somehow they're unique and have a sort of crispy bubbly thing going on which is really hard to do with corn chips. They're also seasoned well. The only thing this place needs is to finish its sorta DIY decor and lack of dishes. But that's something that can come along later.

We frequent this place quite often. Angela is normally our waitress, greeting us by name and always with a smile! We are locals who frequented this establishment regularly because they have reasonable food at a reasonable price. The staff are always friendly. They did open a new dining room that has awful acoustics and while finishing up taco Tuesday with my 3 and 5 year old, they became a little bit roudy. I was disappointed that we were told our children are too loud due to another guest. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone with kids. As a Bellevue resident who walks here with my kids, I was saddened by this.

With its rustic decor adorned with colorful piñatas and a lively atmosphere, it captures the essence of traditional Mexican culture. The location is perfect for those looking to combine dining with entertainment, as it's conveniently situated near a movie theater. During my visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service; we were seated almost immediately and attended to without delay.
This was my first visit here. Very impromptu and we were so glad we decided to eat here. We had a late lunch so it was not busy, only waited a minute to be seated and only another minute to be waited on! The food was delicious and we tried a small variety... Tacos, enchiladas, tamales, fried rice, refried beans and chips and salsa. No complaints at all!! Tasted great, cooked perfect, nice presentation. The photos attached include everything we ordered. I had lemonade which was delicious also! We did not order from the bar so I can't comment on that service. Our waitress was friendly and provided us with quick service. The restaurant was clean and organized. Overall, a great meal with a nice atmosphere. We will definitely return and recommend stopping in for a meal!!

I come here last minute after my brunch plans fell through and I’m very happy I did. This food is scrumptious. The prices are amazing. The chips add amazing. The salsa needed a little more heat and a little more flavor. I can’t believe how good this food is. The staff were really friendly especially compared to the restaurant we were originally supposed to eat at. I will be back.
Maryum S — Google review
Past experiences at this location have always been excellent. Apparently something recently has changed. The food was tasty, but the portion sizes have been greatly reduced. (See picture of taco as delivered) Tuesday dinner specials have been discontinued. On a positive note, service was very good, facility was clean.

noo bro dont eat here... your dollar is worth more than flavorless ground beef when you're expecting steak !! 😭 never like to leave negative reviews but the price is so not worth it. guac is just chunky tomato and onion- basically browning when served. it might be a comfort place for some people, but it really was a disappointment. man the old el paso tacos were not what i was expecting </3 best part was the chips n salsa😭

The Skrewball margarita and the cheesy fried shrimp was really good. I sat at the bar so I didn't get a full scope of the restaurant. The staff was nice as well.
Solarpixie7 — Google review
I am trying to figure out how this place has 4.3 stars. DO NOT GO here, they are very over price for what you get and don't get me started on the flavorless meat. Taco Bell is more authentic then this place. Never in my life been to a Mexican restaurant as flavorless as this place. Literally their taco had a hard shell with just flavorless beef and shredded lettuce. Sad excuse of a Mexican restaurant. If I could give ZERO stars I would.

My boyfriend and I stopped through for dinner while driving through the area. We walked inside and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant is really unique inside with wall murals stretching all across the restaurant. Once we were seated it took a second for someone to come by to take our drink order and drop off a chip basket with salsa. Our server was also not very personable or friendly. She was pretty to the point and didn’t really seem like she wanted to be there. I will note however, a man I assume to be a floor manager was regularly checking up on us. Once we ordered our food came out pretty quickly. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Chimichangas (“4/5 ⭐️/ delicious / heavy but in a good way”) and the cheese dip that comes with chorizo (also very good). I ordered the Quesabarilla Tacos (really good, but very messy). During our meal, the server came through pretty frequently to bus the table. While I don’t usually mind a server pre-busing the table, I felt like i was being rushed through my meal. All together it wasn’t a bad experience and I wouldn’t mind going back. I just hope the service is a little better next time.
Tiffani D — Google review
First, they act like they didn’t want to take my order. Second, the chicken quesadilla I ordered was very disappointing, a small rolled over tortilla with shredded chicken, a little cheese and nothing else! Third, they tried to give me this little bowl of queso I had to pay for. Needless to say, they don’t have to worry about about me or anyone else I know patronizing their business ever again. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Beautiful murals on the walls, service is so fast it’s unreal and the steak quesadilla makes me transport to another world. Hands down my fav Mexican restaurant in and near pittsburgh.

Spent $70 for takeout and my food was dry, cold, and I didn't receive the tortillas I paid extra for. My burrito is supposed to be covered with ranchero sauce. It looks like they scraped what was left from the bottom of the pan and called it good. First time patronizing this place and probably my last. **Update** Found plastic in the food. Definitely not going back.

This little “hole in the wall” spot blew our minds! The guacamole was fresh and the chips crispy! The presentation of the food was beautiful and tantalizing. The burrito itself was DELICIOUS. The service we received was warm and gracious even arriving 45 minutes before they closed. The atmosphere was calm and chill—they had a comfy lounge area with a big screen as well! 10/10 place to go to just chill with your group or stop for some quick eats. You won’t be disappointed! Stopped here for the first time after moving to the neighborhood recently. This place is amazing! Everyone was really friendly, and the food is — in a word — incredible. I got a Torta Milanesa, and my husband got tacos, and they were both amazing. The chips and guac (which are also delicious) felt like a bonus. We’re so excited to go back! Thanks!

Moved to the neighborhood recently and HAD to check this place out. The men who run this place are so incredibly kind! They have the best homemade salas and the best burritos. The burritos are very different from others in the city and I liked that, they’re lighter on your stomach too. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fabulous, definitely feels like you’re not in Braddock or pittsburgh really.

ONE YEAR LATER UPDATE: Quality is still amazing and I’m pleasantly surprised every time I try a new menu item. New photos are of the chorizo hash they do on Sunday for brunch! . . . A spacious venue with an urban interior design that's pleasing to the eye. Ok, the wagyu truffle burger is actually as good as people say! Well seasoned, good amount of cheese, onion and lettuce is cut into a relish and mixed with sauce which makes the burger perfectly moist. I didn’t really feel truffle and the meat was almost well done even though I specified it wasn’t o be medium. Overall, a burger that’s much better than in most places so I’d definitely be back to try more things.

Be ready to wait awhile if you come here. My first time here was a disaster. Half of the restaurants were down after we ordered food, because of what I suspect was a fire (full disclaimer this was a few months ago). Customers were not informed of the issue and we waited over an hour for food that never came. My s/o is diabetic and had already done their insulin so naturally this is terrible to wait this long for food. Manager refunded us, but the communication was terrible. Now, my second time coming here was overall pretty good. I suspect because it wasn’t terribly busy. Food and first drinks came out very fast and both were delicious . The second drink took almost 20 minutes to receive. For that reason and my first experience here I gave the service three stars. Here’s the thing. For the prices you pay, this place needs to have better service. Maybe they just need more staff, I’m not sure. But if you come here, don’t be in a rush.

El Paisano Mexican Restaurant, located in Beechview, offers a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is known for its delicious tortas, which are similar to Italian paninis and are filled with slow-cooked meat, avocado, lettuce, onion, cheese, and tomato. Visitors have described the burritos as the best they've ever had and note that the flavors are truly unique.
Was in the area on a work crew and could smell the food throughout the day. We stopped in afterwards and for $16USD bought 3 steak/onion tacos and 3 glass bottled drinks. We put whatever we wanted on the taco from numerous choices and I proceeded to eat one if the best tasting tacos I've ever eaten. Highly recommended for both taste and price.

Part of The Gary & Nate Taco Tour Pittsburgh. Spartan, seemingly authentic, Ma & Pa Mexican restaurant at the curve on Beechview. As two lily-white suburbanites, we lack the cred to proclaim this "Authentic Mexican", but ALL of the staff (you can clearly see into the kitchen when you order and pay), and most of the patrons, appeared to be Mexican. Further, the menu is written in Spanish (with some basic English interpretations), and the ordering process was rendered a bit awkward with the language barrier. We were after tacos, and El Paisano delivered. Their tacos were very basic - just meat filling cradled into soft, double corn tortillas that had a nice griddle top crispness, topped with a tablespoon of fresh cilantro and served w fresh lime wedges and semi-hard radish slices. No frills. There were eight meat choices, we tried 5. They were all SOLID. We agreed that the carnitas were the best. Apparently it is BYOB, all other drinks are bottled that you pull from a big cooler. We chose Mexican mango pop. Everything about the place was informal and lacking of many common Gringo conventions. If you like that vibe, then you'll probably like this joint. We sure did. I will go back and try some of the other dishes. They all looked pretty good.

Pozole is effing good! It's my go to place, and probably only go to place in all of Pittsburgh for it. No frills restaurant (sometimes don't have items on menu), but for the Mexican homies I've seen kareoke and byob, and it gets happening....but don't recommend if you're not used to it, think dive restaurant, and not the hipster kind.

We order from here all the time. Favorite place for authentic Mexican food. Loved the vegetarian enchiladas. This time when we ordered, we were served raw vegetables, including potatoes and carrots, wrapped in tortillas instead of the usual fajita vegetables. Not sure what happened, but was very disappointing, would not recommend you order vegetarian food here. Not sure if it is worth taking a chance with.

I was really hoping to finally find a decent Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh, and this had promise. But it was ultimately very, very disappointing. The tacos were tendony, the beans were cold, and the shrimp tasted like it has been refrigerated for two weeks.

They didn't have any mild salsa. The two types of salsa were both spicy. They didn't have any diet soda options. The music was too loud. We could barely hear each other talking. The food is fantastic. Make sure if you like limes/ lemons on your seafood, make sure you remember to ask for them. Also if you have food allergies, make sure you tell them that a well. I can't have scallops. I love my seafood, but I wouldn't like putting that on my headstone! They have the neatest sodas as well. We tried the lemon lime soda. It was really neat. Didn't taste like Sprite, or anything else had ever tasted. For my meat eating men, they had the fries with the cheese and ok.. that is all I'll say because that's all they said while they devoured it. My daughter, age seven loved the cheesy, ooey, gooey, tortillas. I think I've covered everything. Ok I'm done because I'm getting hungry! Go see for yourself. Great food, they're a great family, great location! Oh, I forgot of it's a chilly night, they light the oversized lanterns for you. See... DATE NIGHT!

This place is amazing. I'm not a taco connoisseur but I know outstanding food when I have it. Just perfect meat in a perfect taco wrap. The owner is phenomenal. The space just makes you want to hang out and enjoy life. Please go try this place! Seriously. Go. Now. 😁

What a great new place! Love the vibe, the tacos, and the couple who own the place were super nice and helpful! Well priced all around as well. There’s heaters in the tents if you want to eat there. I can’t wait to come back soon, definitely a hype addition to Millvale

The owner is great, friendly. The Califia steak burrito hit the spot. Cool art and laidback music.
Brando — Google review
Owner was great to chat with, legit California guy who chatted it up w my wife who went to school in SLO. And the tacos and carne asada fries were rad! 2 thumbs way up.
Seth S — Google review
not much to complain about, orders are placed via standing machine. a bit more pricey than i would have liked, but incredibly tasty!

It's my last night in town for a while and I chose to try out SLO Coast for the first time. Absolutely amazing decision. I tried the burrito option with steak and it was one of the best I've ever eaten! The meat was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The french fries aren't just a kitschy nod to being in Pittsburgh, they work perfectly with the rest of the burrito. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town-- this time to dine in and enjoy the sick atmosphere! I never write reviews, but I had to for this meal. Thank you for the delicious food!

If you're on the hunt for mouthwatering street tacos, look no further than El Rincon Oaxaqueño. This vibrant food truck offers a delightful variety of Mexican cuisine that goes beyond just tacos, featuring enchiladas, burritos, huaraches, and more. With an impressive selection of around six different proteins and several vegetarian options to choose from, there's something for everyone.
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered the Huarache. I had no idea what a Huarache was, I just knew it sounded good. And it did NOT disappoint. I wasn't quite sure how to actually eat it but I ended up just digging in and getting messy and I have zero regrets. The presentation was so appealing too and I hated to mess it up, but it was worth it in the end. It was incredibly flavorful and the mild sauce I got on the side had a nice smoky flavor without too much of an overpowering kick to it. I would absolutely order from here again and I hope to see their food truck around!
Bridget M — Google review
I wish I took pictures! I was looking for Mexican in Pittsburgh before we went to Barrel & Flow and El Rincon came highly recommended. I didn't realize it was a food truck! However, they had a covered seating area that was perfect for our party of 4. I was there for one reason and one reason only: street tacos. And they did not disappoint. Steak, chorizo, and adobada pork. Devoured. My wife had the al pastor and hers were gone as well. Our friends enjoyed their quesadillas a ton. Me and the wife got 2 more orders of tacos. This was exactly what I was hoping for from Mexican in Pittsburgh. What an amazing place!
Kelen C — Google review
Second time trying this food truck. The food is so delicious! Very filling did not disappoint. Loved the vibes.

Some of the best tacos we have had, checkout the food truck when you have a chance !!
Kyle H — Google review
Authentic food, friendly people, generous portions at a fair price
David P — Google review
This has to be the best Mexican food we’ve ever eaten. Not even just in Pittsburgh. The staff is very friendly and all the options are so flavorful!
Domenica T — Google review
Got the adobada taco and the ground beef taco. I found the ground beef to be too salty but liked the adobada a lot. I liked it so much I came back 15 minutes later and bought a adobada burrito. The rice in the burrito was very tasty
Nicole L — Google review
I was talking an unusually long walk yesterday, and I'm glad I did because otherwise I probably wouldn't have discovered this truck. I got three tacos: the shrimp, rajas (sliced poblano peppers) & potatoes, and the current special al pastor. All delicious; I think the rajas were probably my favorite. I hope I see them in more places around the city since I don't make it through the Strip too often.

Nuevo Latino restaurant
Los Inmortales Fondita Con Sabor Latino! is a Mexican restaurant located on Broadway Avenue in Beechview, Pittsburgh. It offers authentic and flavorful Mexican cuisine at reasonable prices. The tacos are particularly praised for their generous portions and well-cooked, flavorful meat. The restaurant also has a full bar with a good selection of beers, margaritas, and tequila. Customers appreciate the cleanliness of the establishment and recommend trying dishes like pupusas, burritos, and homemade hot sauces.
Came in the middle of the day on a Friday and was absolutely blown away. I've lived minutes from this place for years and didn't know it existed. The margaritas were made fresh and superb. The steak tacos were tender and flavorful and the chorizo was delicate and perfectly cooked to bring out the flavors without being overpowering. The guacamole was also made fresh and they gave an absolutely delicious spicy green salsa to go along with it. Can not wait to go back!
Jackie S — Google review
A great place for Mexican food! Tacos not bad, reminded me a little of Mexico. Would highly recommend the agua Frescas, especially the watermelon one!!
EsS R — Google review
Freshest mexican food i have perhaps ever had. My friend and I shared the nachos and the portion was ginormous. Both of us were highly impressed with the taste of the guacamole. The drinks left us both with a smile as they had tremendous flavor. This place felt extra special as we found it by accident after having issues finding a place to eat in the neighborhood nesr by. The service was friendly and the vibe felt very inviting. Not super vegetarian friendly, but definitely left full and satisfying.
Kate V — Google review
Arguably the best tacos I've ever had, the service was great and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Contraverzi M — Google review
My brother and I came in at 11:15 pm. We were waited on within minutes even though there was a full bar and one person working the bar and tables. The food was amazing! Our choriqueso was probably the best I've had, as was the al pastor in our tacos! Even the chips were made fresh! To get such service and delicious food so late on a Friday night is unbelievable. I'll definitely be back again and I'll tell my friends!
Joe G — Google review
We got pupusas, chips with salsa, guacamole and queso, and the carnitas taco and al pastor burrito. The food was delicious and the staff were really nice and ensured we were happy with everything. We got beer on tap and they had a great selection, their mojito is the perfect balance of lime and mint and we were happy to see they had bottles of Jarritos available. Definitely worth checking out.
Melinda S — Google review
2 visits and we will be coming back. Fresh squeezed margaritas, spend a few bucks and upgrade your tequilia from tortilla. Pupusa, tacos, and burritos have been amazing. Wife said 2nd visit tacos were a bit dry. Homemade hot sauce is fire. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu.
John C — Google review
If you want authentic Mexican here you go! We have been twice and love it! The Al Pastor is the BEST I have ever had. The Pupusas are heavenly and I love the hot sauces they bring to the table. Burritos are also outstanding. They also have a full bar with good beer choices and nice Margaritas and Tequila selection. Good prices too. Try this place!

If you're looking for a delicious taco spot in Pittsburgh, look no further than Lucha Street Tacos - Squirrel Hill. Whether you're craving barbacoa, chicken thigh or even just some queso, these tacos are sure to satisfy. Plus, the restaurant has a variety of toppings to choose from, so you can create your very own taco masterpiece!
If you search through my reviews you can see I've been to basically every taco place in the city. This place reopened today and I can say it's probably top 3 in the city easily. The tall guy Rob was one of the nicest dudes I've seen in the service industry. Most times people are frustrated and rude but he was awesome.
David G — Google review
Was excited driving by seeing a new taco place, but my excitement quickly turned into blahhh cause that's exactly what we got. The tacos were bland. I got the pollo magnifico which was magnifiNO. I took it home and added my own salsa to it left over from taco bell... My sister got the boyaka barbaca and couldn't eat it... it was extremely dry and lacked flavor but her dog loved it. We weren't greeted with smiles personalities were blahhh. I asked about the menu... he was clueless and pointed at what was "most popular"... Will not be returning (the pic is after I added the taco sauce)
Cara K — Google review
If you want to support local and enjoy tasty tacos, give this place a try. Had the smoked brisket, an authentic chicken and pork belly taco. All pretty good. I'd return.
Kristen G — Google review
I am new to the area and what craving a Mexican bowl. I took a nice walk down the street and Lucha Street Tacos looked inviting and was not busy. The man who took and made my food was very helpful, nice and efficient. I got the Adonis Bowl with steak, chips and queso. I was very impressed everything was very delicious. The price and portions on reasonable. I definitely recommend Lucha Street Tacos. I know I will definitely be going back. Also loved the fact it is a local business. Keep up the great work!
Amber L — Google review
Delicious, warm, & filling tacos. Friendly staff. Fast service. Affordable prices. Highly recommend. I had a very pleasant take out experience here tonight. The staff went out of their way to explain the menu and weekly specials, and he helped me choose tacos I would enjoy. The food was prepared quickly. When I went home, the tacos were still warm. The fillings were delicicious. I grew up in southern California and miss good, affordable Mexican food. I'm so happy this is right in Sq Hill - can't believe I didn't come here sooner!
Divya P — Google review
My boyfriend and I came here tonight (my first time and his second) and it was amazing! We got 3 for $10 tacos, the brisket taco, fire roasted chicken taco and the pork taco. Every one of them was great, pork quesadilla and street corn! The chicken and brisket have a little spice to them, but not over powering and extremely flavorful! The quesadilla was amazing and the street corn, is made perfectly. Highly recommend plus it’s a local business which makes it even better!
Nikki R — Google review
I loved the tacos! Good portions, great flavors. What I love the most is that they have delicious vegan chorizo to replace the meat in any of the tacos. So if you're vegan/vegetarian, you've a lot of options here. They also have a hard/soft shell option (which is not usually available in all taco places) I want to add that the tacos _were_ a bit dry.
Vaishnavh N — Google review
A friend and I came to try this place out, and it was just ok. The employees were great and really friendly, but the food was a letdown. We tried 4 different tacos and all of them except for the smoked brisket were dry and lacked flavor. The guac was a smooth green paste that tasted like it came out of a jar. The chips were also weirdly thick, like multigrain chips. Definitely did not taste like they were made fresh in the store. They also forgot our side of rice. 2.5 stars.

Nestled in an unexpected spot, El Pariente Taco Shop is a hidden gem located within the BP gas station's convenience store at 40th and Liberty. This taco stand may not look like much from the outside, but it offers an authentic taste of Latin cuisine that keeps locals coming back for more. The friendly staff prepares each dish fresh right before your eyes, ensuring every bite bursts with flavor.
Hands down some of the best tacos I have had! At first I was a little hesitant because they are located inside a gas station. But, then I was like fak it, and I don’t regret my decision. Very friendly people, and the food was just absolutely majestic in taste. If im ever in the area, will definitely going back to get more tacos. Probably not the best place to dine in, highly recommended!
Jony V — Google review
El Pariente makes some of the best tacos I've had in the Burgh. The tortillas were soft and didn't seem to come straight from a plastic bag. The fillings were tasty and actually distinct from each other (my favorite was the carnitas). All were properly dressed with cilantro and onion, with salsa on the side. I can't wait to come back on the weekend to try their pozole.
James B — Google review
i’ve always driven past the BP gas station and wondered about the restaurant attached. i am sad i waited so long to stop. fresh tacos, fresh tortilla chips, extremely tasty meal!
Chelsey M — Google review
One of the best authentic tacos I’ve had in the area. Don’t let the fact that it’s in a gas station fool you. The lady cooked my tacos fresh and I can’t wait to go back!!
Rachel D — Google review
Had high hopes for El Pariente but was extremely disappointed. Tacos were decent but not great and they only had steak and chicken. WAYYYYYYY overpriced. $31 for 4 tacos and a small handful of what turned out to be Tostitos touch of lime chips and salsa. Like, are you kidding me???? Won’t be back.
Chris F — Google review
Have been getting gas at the BP for a while now, but never taken the time to try some tacos. The woman was very friendly and helpful. She made the tacos fresh and pretty quickly. I tried chicken, chorizo, and carnitas traditional tacos with chips and queso/salsa. Carnitas was good, chicken was really good, and chorizo was the best I've had in a long time. Queso and salsa were better than you get in most restaurants. The woman even gave me a small treat for my first visit, and was willing to chit chat a little which I appreciated. I might have to order a taco every time I get gas now. Overall, another hidden gem tucked into good old Bloomfield.
Micaiah O — Google review
This place is the best place in the city. I don’t care about the location! Everything on the menu is made with love and it shows in the flavor! Maria and her son deserve all the traffic and clout. I want to selfishly gate keep this place, but I want them to stay and succeed. The pozole is to die for and the tacos are a close second. 12/10!
Caleb D — Google review
Typically the term ‘gas station burrito’ doesn’t refer to the highest quality Mexican cuisine, however, El Pariente Taco Shop is out to reverse the stigma. This place is - in the words of Mac Miller - *most dope*. Food is amazing and the owners & employees are great people. Highly recommend!!!
