The Red Rood Plus isn't the Ritz, but they don't present themselves as such. The staff is great and if there's a problem, it's taken care of quickly and professionally.
The shining stars here are the facilities manager, Richard and the general manager, Becky. Together, they are providing a safe and friendly experience.
I am waiting for my home and have stayed here for a few months. I am not the only person in this situation here. I can honestly say that there is a since of community here and a good mix of temporary guests, and extended guests who are here due to work in the area, and those like myself who are waiting on their homes to be completed.
Unfortunately, people are eager to post a negative review and less likely to post a positive one, so I felt compelled to do so.
Any hotel or motel will have it's moments where one guest may ruin the experience for many. My personal experience has been positive. Only once have we been inconvenienced by another guest who was being inconsiderate, and a quick call to the front desk took care of that immediately.
If you have a pet, this hotel is VERY pet friendly. those of us with fur babies are welcomed without being charged RIDICULOUS pet fee's which is almost unheard of these days. Also, on the rare occasion there is a dog off of it's leash, the staff is quick to remind them of the leash requirements, keeping everyone with or without fur safe.
The housekeeping staff are always welcoming and helpful and from what I've seen, very hard working.
Maybe most importantly, there are no bed bugs here! I read some reviews that stated that there were bed bugs and that simply isn't true. It's the South and there have been a few times I have seen a bug in my room, but if you want to visit the Charleston area, be prepared, the weather that makes everything beautiful here also makes for an abundance of bugs and no matter where you chose to stay, you'll get bugs in your room from time to time. That goes for lodging, homes, restaurants, etc.
To sum it up, if you want an elegant experience or you're an entitled person, then you may not want to stay here.
If you want a warm and welcoming experience with polite and professional staff that is managed well, I definitely recommend you book a room.
