The other reviews are right…this place was so delicious! The service, food, and cozy vibe were all amazing. My favorite dish was the farro & Brussel sprout salad (I never knew something so simple could have so much flavor! & the crunchy peanuts were such a pleasant surprise!). Our second favorite was The Rutledge pizza. We also ordered the radiatore pasta, pesce a la plancha, and chocolate mousse. All yummy :)

Everything was awesome from the service, the vibes, and the food. Must get reservation as wait time in peak beach season is usually 1.5-2.5 hrs. Pizza is fantastic with nice dough, and fresh ingredients. Definitely more wood fired Neapolitan vs thin and crispy. Pasta was clearly fresh, huge portion, perfectly cooked and salted well. Sauce soaked up in the noodles well but didn’t make them soggy. Parking is slightly difficult, with minimal spots attached and then street/paid parking around it.

As someone formerly in the hospitality industry, I am always grateful when I get to dine somewhere that has talented chefs & a wonderful atmosphere. Every dish was created with care & attention to detail along with amazing flavor combinations. I loved that everything was fresh. My boyfriend & I enjoyed drinks at the bar before transitioning to our table with the rest of our party. Portions are large & easily shareable. Highly recommend reservations & trying as much of the menu as you can!

Outstanding restaurant. We did not have a reservation but were able to get seats at the bar. Frank the bartender was terrific and helped us with drink and food choices since this was our 1st time here. Frank really knew the food and also recommended a perfect wine pairing with our 2nd dish. We split the N. Carolina Apple Salad of celery, apples, mint and dates dressed in a vinagrette with dots of gorgonzola cream on the plate. It's only available during the fall season so we went for it and were glad we did! (Pardon the salad pic taken after we began eating it!) Our 2nd splitter was a white pizza called Five Fathom Hole 3.0 with clams, rapini, mozzarella, garlic, chili flakes and fresh lemon to squeeze on it. We also had a cocktail, beer and a glass of wine.

This restaurant doesn't particularly cater to children but it looked like the perfect, quintessential Sullivan's Island vibe I was looking for so we took a chance. We showed up after a long day walking around Charleston with cranky kids, but they were kind and understanding. We decided to start the kids off with gelato because they were hangry and we were able to order a simple, kid friendly pizza for them to share. Hubby and I both got pasta dishes and everything came out delicious. He also said his espresso martini was the best he's had. If you are looking for a casual but classy vibe with elevated food options this is the place.

One of our favorite dining experiences during our trip to the Charleston area. We started with a seared seafood sausage in tomato butter appetizer that was fantastic followed by the Ricotta gnocchi with short rib ragu and The Rutledge pizza. We finished by sharing their pecan bourbon crème brûlée. This restaurant deserves every ounce of praise it receives. They also have an excellent Italian wine list.

Absolutely lovely time at the obstinate daughter this weekend! The food is so yummy and you really can’t go wrong with anything you choose to get. We got the sweet roll, gnocchi, and pork belly brunch item as well as the catch a buzz and another lavender drink! Highly recommend all of the above. Matt was our server and he made our experience very special as we were celebrating our anniversary with friends!! Such a great spot near the beach on Sullivans Island. I definitely would be prepared to walk a bit from where you park a since most of the parking is off the main road. Make sure to make a reservation at least a week in advance, but if you don’t make it in time, I would recommend setting notifications for reservations that open up throughout the week (that’s what we did). Absolutely worth the hype!!!

Only went here to take pictures because of watching the show the Outer Banks. Definitely looks like an Old school local restaurant. And a really cool fishing boat named the Playboy. I wish we could have eaten there but it didn't open until 5:00.

If you’re anywhere near Charleston, you must visit The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene. It doesn’t get more authentic than this — right on the water, laid-back atmosphere, and some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. We had the shrimp and scallops, and both were absolutely perfect. Cooked just right, and seasoned with what I can only describe as their signature house herb mix — subtle, aromatic, and spot on. The shrimp come straight from the local fisherman next door, who also sells fresh seafood. Seriously, bring a cooler — eat first, then walk over and grab some fresh-off-the-boat shrimp for home. The vibe is super relaxed: yes, you’re eating on paper plates, but who cares when the food is this good? Honestly, I’ll take flavorful and real over fancy and forgettable any day. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Pro tip: come at sunset. The view is unreal — golden light over the marshes, boats swaying in the harbor… it’s pure coastal magic. Fun fact: several scenes from the Netflix series Outer Banks were filmed right here, and once you’re there, you’ll see why. Highly recommend. We’d come back in a heartbeat. This is one of those rare spots that gets everything right — from the food, to the setting, to the soul.

I had been wanting to eat here. We came for dinner around 6:45 and I was disappointed that we couldn’t eat outside. It was a beautiful sunny day with a gorgeous sunset. Not too hot and humid. Honestly perfect night. You can have a drink outside but couldn’t eat dinner. We waited about 15 min for a table. We were seated. Friendly service. Ordered drinks and we ordered a play seafood platter and a triple combination (grilled). Big portions. Seafood and hush puppies were good. Rice was over salted. It’s nothing to write home about on the inside, I guess that’s where Wreck comes into play. But service, once we were seated was good and on point.

It was closed with a short note on the door. They could have saved me a trip from West Ashley by putting it on their website which I visited several times prior to coming over. The building wasn’t in very good condition. The chairs and tables were ragged. There was a good parking lot- if only. This was a location that the OBX were filmed so came here with a big group for dinner- but they were closed.

This is truly an amazing and delightful place! The food is all fresh and caught from Shem Creek! It is a little pricy and the service is quick but not that quick! The food and atmosphere is amazing and a lovely view of Shem Creek! The video attached is there amazing rice!

9/10/25 Interesting entrance…the restaurant was clean and funky. Meal served on paper plates. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. The shrimp was so fresh and delicious. Ice tea was cold and delicious. You can see the fishing boats coming and going. Try the key lime bread pudding! We enjoyed our meal at this funky place.

I grew up on shem creek so I am a little biased but, this is how seafood is supposed to be. The service staff and kitchen are amazing. This is the ultimate seafood experience. They serve true local shrimp and it says it right on the front door, "we get our shrimp from next door". A most when visiting Charleston, pay with cash and save yourself some $$. This is were we film OBX so teenagers will love it.

Chez Nous is an absolute must try in Charleston (if you can get in!). Tucked away with its charming, intimate atmosphere, it feels like a secret you’re lucky to stumble upon. The menu changes daily, which makes the dining experience feel truly special. The hanger steak with onions was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor and likely one of the best I’ve ever had. The trout with hazelnut brown butter was equally outstanding: rich, delicate, and beautifully balanced. And to finish, the pot de crème au chocolat was nothing short of delightful—silky, decadent, and the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole evening felt like dining at a friend’s home in Europe. Chez Nous captures the magic of simple, thoughtful cooking at its finest. I can’t wait to return and see what’s on the menu next time!

I recently dined at this restaurant during a work trip with my colleagues from NJ, and we were truly impressed. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed yet elegant evening. Our server Lianna was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcomed from start to finish. The food was outstanding and beautifully prepared with authentic flavors that highlighted the best of French cuisine. Every detail, from presentation to taste, exceeded expectations. A wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an intimate and memorable meal. I wish I lived in the area so I could savor the dishes every week!!

Fantastic daily changing menu. Our visit with three people we ordered both apps (lamb skewers, and Burrata with eggplant) to share and each had an entree (herbed chicken and potatoes, and grouper with a saffron broth). All the food was amazing. Dessert also delicious. The price is high but the quality is there.

This fish reminded me how I miss lunch in the French countryside: the crunch of fresh baguette...unoaked Chardonnay, luscious poisson avec dessert financier. A walk I will long remember...ad

Epic lunch, fantastic food with daily menu changing and pristine patio vibes in the cool weather. Duck confit salad was a star and the wreckfish was tasty too.

Absolutely adorable French restaurant tucked away—so hidden that’s you feel like you’ve tumbled into a secret garden type space. Servers are knowledgeable and friendly, and food was delicious!

Very good lunch experience at Chez Nous. I was excited to try it, having heard and read good things. Lunch reservation made online and I sat at the bar. Comfortable, but it would have been cramped if busy. The atmosphere inside is charming, and nice jazz music was playing at a very agreeable volume. The charming hand-written menus are almost comically illegible, but all the choices sounded extremely tempting. I opted for the eggplant starter which was tasty but a bit disappointing as an appetizer. More like crispy eggplant "chips", I feel they would have made more of an amuse bouche than a $23 starter. The main couse I chose were stunningly delicious veal escalopes with a rich pan sauce and capers, lemons, and roasted potatoes. Superb quality, but rather pricy at $47. The wine list is very good, but markup is significant. I'd consider coming back, but must admit I don't think the prices are worth it. It's an elevated, European experience; but my tab of $156 (including tip) for starter, main and two glasses of wine is bordering excessive.

What an amazing and unique culinary experience. The chefs prepare a 5-course meal. For each course, they described the ingredients and magic they put into making it. The portions were perfect but be sure to come hungry. You sit in a u-shaped bar so that everyone can hear the information shared by the chefs. You must make reservations.

No set menu, you eat whatever they are preparing that evening from locally sourced ingredients! Casual setting at a counter facing the chefs. They explain each dish, how it's prepared and the ingredients. If you are looking for a romantic dinner for two this is not the place. If you want a wonderful enjoyable time this is it. Portions are ample . Just a memorable experience. Special thanks to Ross our chef this evening who is also the owner. This place was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and it was incredible. Justin, Brenner, and Dude were our chefs and these three now how to throw down. They took exceptional care of us and even made sure we got some food to take home with us. I can’t recommend what to get because, well, you’ll get to have your own experience when you get there with whatever their creative ideas are on that day. Make your reservations quick!

Went to the 1000 am seating at Reckless Breakfast. From the moment you walk in you are to feel like you are family. Chef Steve, Chef Jilly guide you through your five courses. They are only able to keep on track with the mother of the group Sarah. You get to see the group put your plate’s together, tell you where the food is sourced. Each course is a punch in the face and by the time the morning is done you need a dolly to carry you out. Every plate is thoughtfully made and you can taste it. My favorite brunch in Charleston hands down.

A must stop dinner experience for us every time we come into Charleston. This was our 5th time and as always it was incredible. Chefs David and Kevin were awesome! Make sure to make a reservation early spots fill up!

Hosted our company holiday party here... 18 guests. Had the entire place to ourselves. It was intimate, engaging, and very entertaining by the chefs! It was a great vibe. Food was excellent. Wine was flowing and music was a great touch. Highly recommend!!!!

Made birthday reservations and our waiter Kevin was absolutely amazing! Fantastic suggestions, perfect timing on the courses and drinks. Hit all of the highlights and answered all of our question; even when he said he'd have to differ to the bartender Damian when we asked for suggestions about adding a shot of something to the mockingbird, mocktail (Bar Hill Tom Cat gin, I will not be able to recommend this enough and I'm not usually a gin drinker). The oyster starter was grilled to perfection and my companions arent usually fans of oysters and I nearly had to fight them for my share! The pimento cheese and ham was super flavorful and the biscuits fluffy while still being sturdy, great highlight to the house pickles. The scallop starter was light and flavorful, a little bit of spice from the jalapeño, but not too overwhelming. The cornbread side was absolutely delightful, the eggplant flavorfull and well roasted. The chicken fried rabbit was jucy and delicious, the grits and gumbo offset it with a wonderfully deep, rich flavor. The pastrami was pull apart soft and juicy, with some solid roasted potatoes. The diver scallops were buttery smooth and melt in your mouth; the succotash was lightly sweet, with a lot of good corn flavor and a hint of roasted tomatillo. The icebox cake was much lighter than I was expecting with a good mocha flavor and smooth dark chocolate pastry. The seasonal ice cream we went with was the muscadine, which is apparently a local grape, which we never would have guessed, and will now go on, wishing it was a flavor we could get shipped back home with us to MN. It was absolutely amazing, light and flavorful with some vanilla bean, and i now have a quest to get my hands on some of those grapes. We will absolutely be returning for more seasonal options and to find out whats for dinner next time!

Firstly, beware that there are two sides of HUSK. One is fine dining and the other is casual bar dining. We mistakenly went to the casual side although we intended on fine dining, we weren't disappointed. The food were delicious and the service was excellent and the ambience was great. The burger and fries were the best I've had a a restaurant and okra was amazing. I recommend this place for a great dining experience.

We were spending one night in Charleston and asked a friend—who’s visited countless times—for a dinner recommendation. His answer was immediate: Husk. Reservations were tough to come by (nothing until 9:45 PM on a Sunday), but thanks to Resy Global Access we snagged an 8:30 PM spot on the upstairs porch. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and seated at a beautiful table overlooking the street. Our server, Megan, introduced herself right away and was fantastic from start to finish—attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. We started with cocktails (the Pisco in a Pear Tree is excellent), a glass of Cabernet, and the skillet cornbread. The cornbread had great flavor—definitely ask for extra butter—but ours was a bit burnt on top. For entrées, we both ordered the diver scallops with brown butter, potato & bacon cream, and sourdough crumbles. The scallops were slightly overcooked, but the flavor was incredible. Surprisingly, the diced potatoes underneath might have been the highlight of the plate—rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. To finish, we shared two seasonal scoops: sweet potato ice cream (very pumpkin-pie-esque) and an orange creamsicle sherbet. Both were delicious, but the sherbet was the perfect light ending to the meal. Despite a couple small imperfections, the combination of ambiance, food, and truly exceptional service made this a standout dining experience. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Charleston. Highly recommend.

WOW. It was packed on a Monday night and it’s easy to see why. The dirty california gold rice was insanely flavorful and moist, the cornbread skillet was delicious, the pastrami brisket was so tender with a flavorful crust…such an unreal meal! The menu changes daily, which is so fun. Our server, Chris, was also wonderful and so helpful. Definitely make a reservation and check out Husk if you’re in Charleston!

Wonderful restaurant with an excellent menu that reflects Charleston and the surrounding area’s culture. Although the menu changes somewhat from what I hear, the “chicken fried rabbit is the best I have ever tasted - moist with excellent flavors. Don’t miss this dining experience if you are visiting this beautiful city.

Had an AMAZING dinner with my husband last night. One of the absolute best we've had in Charleston so far. Great ambiance, service, food, and cocktails. I highly recommend the pimento cheese and biscuit board to start, Pastrami Brisket and Chicken with black garlic coconut sauce for entrees, and rhe grits and corn bread for sides. Everything was excellent.

Perfect! Great staff, atmosphere, food and cocktails. It was just an absolute winner. Our hostess Jayla, server Kyle and Sommelier Megan were all outstanding. They leaned in with the best version of themselves and it created a wonderful culinary experience. On top of it all, the food was amazing. I loved the deviled eggs, scallops and grits. The best that I ever eaten. Plus, the Pisco in a Pear Tree cocktail was a delicious and unique spin on the traditional Pisco Sour. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and fantastic. It was everything that I expected from a classic Charleston experience. The desserts were terrific as well. I highly recommend making reservations in advance and making sure that you partake in this very special dining experience.

The clientele is a little stiff. But everything was wonderful. Food is clean, fresh, very well prepared. Plating is simple. All high quality. Chase our waiter was patience and so kind. Drinks are good.

FIG is the perfect spot in Charleston to go for a special occasion. Everything is made to perfection and the service is 10/10. This is one of the few menus where we are open to trying absolutely anything because we know it will be amazing. We had Alex as our server and he added to the experience, being able to perfectly describe complex flavors of the dishes and really paint a picture to how the dishes were made. It is pricey but very worth it. Make sure to get a reservation EARLY though because they sellout quick for weekends.

Excellent restaurant. There was a little issue with the reservation time we made and hostesses seemed a little overwhelmed. But the manager eventually sorted it out and took charge with a professional and supportive demeanor. The evening was very pleasant, our waiter very good and the food excellent - they were just recognized by the Michelin Guide for a reason. Perhaps the reason for the slight confusion initially - make a reservation, you won’t be disappointed.

As always FIG was an amazing experience from the service to the food. We decided to do a dinner of appetizer and were incredibly happy. The chicken liver pâté was fatty, silky and delicious. The pickles shrimp paired very well with the local vegetables. The tomato tart was the highlight. They only have it when tomatoes as in season but if it’s on the menu it’s a must have. We finished with our pasta course of blue crab ravioli and gnocchi. Both were delicious and my wife and I fought over which one we liked more. I was a fan of the blue crab because of the distinctive blue crab taste and sweetness. My wife loved the pillowy gnocchi. You can’t go wrong with either one of these dishes.

Long time Charleston visitor from Orlando. the hospitality is noticeable. As a consistent Party of One, I often feel rushed in restaurants. They didn’t rush me at all! I felt at home. Also, I absolutely hate when restaurants take away the other serving after I’ve sat down. It makes me feel low key loser-esque as I always dine solo. Like my food mate decided not to show up. Other patrons see that and it’s not a good look. Not FIG. The setting for one was already there and I enjoyed that feeling. Again. Hospitality and paying attention to the reservation goes a long way. Reservations fill up FAST, and rightly so! I’ve been here twice now and it’s a must go if you’re in Charleston. My recent visit was as good as the first. Our party of four had reservations for 715p on a Friday night. We were seated right away and service was prompt to arrive. We started with a bottle of I Vigneri Nerello Mascalese, which ended up pairing well with the dishes we selected. We ordered multiple small plates to share. - Beef Tartare + Maxim Potato, Vine Ripe Tomato Tarte Tatin, and the Ricotta Gnocchi + Lamb Bolognese. While each of these was delicious, the gnocchi was definitely the stand out. Moving to entrées, we ordered the Brioche Crusted Flounder and the Pork Schnitzel. We also added the Yukon Gold Potato Purée. Everything was seasoned well and flavorful. For dessert we ordered the Sticky Sorghum Pudding and Olive Oil and Pistachio Cake. I have had traditional sticky toffee pudding many, many times, but their version with sorghum in it, brings it to a whole new level. This is quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had! From apps to entrees to dessert, everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was attentive. I will continue to visit Fig whenever I get the chance.

The blue crab ravioli and the gnocchi were outstanding. We started with the burnt eggplant and cottage cheese with brown bread. It seemed like an odd combination, but it worked.

Hands down one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the owner came over to personally introduce himself and shake our hands — such a warm welcome! We were celebrating a birthday, and they brought out complimentary champagne shortly after we were seated, which was such a nice touch. Our server, Josh, was amazing — he walked us through the menu, answered all our questions, and even brought out a tray of steaks to show us the different cuts. Everything was perfect from start to finish. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for the birthday. We’ll definitely be back to celebrate again!

Shawna was our server and she was absolutely outstanding! My mom, aunt, cousin, and I were in town visiting and this place came highly recommended — now we know why. Shawna was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the menu but also the history of the restaurant, which made the experience even better. We started with cups of French onion soup, and it was phenomenal. Two of us had the 8oz filet topped with Gorgonzola and a side of mushrooms and onions, while the other two ordered the scallops over risotto. The sides are served family-style, so we shared the loaded mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts — both amazing. For dessert, we split the crème brûlée and the cookie skillet, and everything was truly top tier. Halls Chophouse is an absolute must-stop when you’re in Charleston!

As a fine dining manager and food enthusiast visiting from Houston, I can confidently say Halls Chophouse is a masterclass in hospitality and execution. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly by the staff — and even welcomed personally by one of the co-owners. That level of engagement and presence in the dining room is something truly rare and speaks volumes about the culture they’ve built here. The restaurant was buzzing — packed with guests, filled with live music, and full of energy. Despite the lively ambiance, service remained attentive, polished, and genuine. Our server took the time to present the steak tray and explain each cut in detail — a thoughtful touch that shows pride and professionalism. Attention to detail in allergies and the servers pouring his heart in the service what sold me. I went with the Bison steak, accompanied by a she crab soup and multiple sides, and it was outstanding. Perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and easily one of the best steaks I’ve enjoyed in recent memory. If you prefer a quieter dining experience, I’d suggest requesting a table away from the music — but otherwise, lean into the vibrant atmosphere. Halls Chophouse represents everything a classic American steakhouse should be: warm hospitality, quality ingredients, and flawless execution. I’ll absolutely return whenever I’m in Charleston — this place sets the benchmark.

By far the best dining experience I've ever had in Charleston. The staff provided the warmest of welcomes and the owner was buzzing around interacting with customers all evening. Our waitress Amanda went above and beyond the whole evening. Marty was an absolute pleasure, and the sommelier was incredible knowledgeable. Overall I am wildly impressed. This will be a required stop every time I visit this beautiful city. I suggest you try it!!

Reservations necessary. We were there for dinner at 5:30 pm and it was already packed. Owner greeted us at the door, stopped at our table twice and said goodbye as we left. Impressive staff. Our waitress suggested half portions since we had nowhere to store leftovers. Even that amount was filling. I tried 2 local beers. My wife had 2 glasses of wine. We split the filet, baked potato, asparagus and salad.

Best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant! me and my bf celebrated our 5-year anniversary here, and it was our first time at Halls after hearing so many friends rave about it, and wow, they were right. The steak was insanely good, and every single thing we ordered was amazing. The service was top-tier – the staff came by several times to make sure we were happy and taken care of. We even got to meet Billy Hall, who was so kind and welcoming. We’ve been to a lot of restaurants for our anniversaries, but this one truly stands out. They make you feel special and celebrated from start to finish. Everything here is just that good.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday morning. Lunch menu had plenty of options including all the prime steaks on the dinner menu. Bartenders and hosts were very friendly and conversational. I returned the following Friday for she-crab soup and a wet-aged filet mignon. Absolutely delicious!

We are always in the prowl for best bbq. We only ever thought Mad Jacks in Cloud Croft New Mexico was the only best place; Lewis BBQ has exceeded our expectations! Best brisket and turkey we have ever had! Its a bonus, since we are from NM/AZ that they use Hatch Green chilis in their food! That makes it absolutely incredible to even find Hatch green chili anything in the south! Very very highly recommended!!

If you want BBQ in Charleston, this is the place. I’ve tried most of the local spots, and Lewis BBQ consistently comes out on top. Whenever I have friends in from out of town, this is the one place we always make a point to visit. I’ve never had a dish here that wasn’t great. I don’t even like turkey, yet I order a full pound of their sliced turkey every time because it’s that good. And whatever you do, don’t skip the Green Chili BBQ sauce. The corn pudding, mac and cheese, late-night nachos, sandwiches—everything hits. They also have a great bar with solid drinks; the frozen mule is fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with comfy seating and plenty of space outside. Expect a line, but it moves quickly and is absolutely worth it.

I highly recommend this restaurant! Haley, Will, and Nolan provided an amazing experience! They were personable, helpful with questions, and make sure my family visiting was taken care of. My food was absolutely amazing and a pretty good price based on serving size. The brisket was amazing as well! I will definitely be returning!

Most amazing bbq ! Must go ! The brisket was delicious! Sandwich and nachos ! The Mac n cheese and jalapeño corn dish sides were so good. We tried the lemon raspberry pie and the mint chocolate pie- both were surprisingly delicious! Expect a long line on the weekend. Worth the wait.

First time. Definitely reminds me of Texas brisket in the DFW area. The pulled pork blew me away. Moist , tender and very flavorful. Coleslaw was completely different from any coleslaw I have had. It was good and refreshing though. Definitely give this a place try if you're in Charleston

Everyone knows you have to come to Lewis BBQ when you are in Charleston. This was our first visit and it didnt disappoint. Chopped brisket sammich, corn pudding and collard greens. These collard greens were so good I had to rate them higher than my wife's family recipe and I've never done that b4. The corn pudding was hands down my favorite! Im craving it again already.

Waited a whole year to come back to this place. Food is honey and comforting. We really like the pulled pork, Mac n cheese and the banana pudding. Oh and don't forget the sweet tea! We got lucky and found a spot in their parking lot. The wait in line was about 30 minutes but well worth the wait and the drive from Summerville. Every time we are out this way we will stop here. They ship everything nationwide now so we're going to order some for our friends and family to try it.

This place has become me and my girlfriend's new favorite restaurant. We've come here all 5 times now and will continue to stop by. The staff are always super friendly and the food is to die for. The pulled pork tastes amazing and being able to sauce it yourself is a great way to make sure it's perfect for your tastes. The ribs are THE BEST ribs I've ever had, the char grilled outside with the tender, juicy, pink inside and savory flavor is so good and I must recommend it to everyone. We will definitely continue to come back.

We got the Fiery Ron’s Smoked Wings, Fiery Ron’s Burger and Tots — all of them were amazing. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. I can’t recommend this place enough and will absolutely be stopping by next time I’m back in Charleston.

I've been hearing about Home Team BBQ ever since I moved here a year ago- I can't believe this was my first time! I went with a group of friends and we were all blown away by our entrees. I personally had the pulled pork meat plate with mac & cheese and coleslaw on the side. Sarah provided excellent service and we had a great experience.

The freshly fried pork rinds with pimento cheese were great. Also, the sausage with cheese was a real treat. All of the food was top notch, and the numerous bbq sauces are homemade and worth experiencing.

It’s a simple order, 12 chicken wings + a game changer. This is a top 5 meal of my life as these are the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. My wife also loves their salad with pulled pork.

Delicious BBQ in a very cool setting. A lot of the walls are covered with concert posters and there's a mural of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. The pulled pork was delicious and I liked their Red and Red Hot (not that hot) sauces. Their mustard based sauces went well with the smoked sausage. Their pickles deserve a mention, too: their homemade and amazing!

As we toured Charleston we were told that Home Town was a must. We came on a Saturday afternoon with a party of six, we were offered seats outside but with the heat we decided to sit indoors. After a short wait, we were seated inside in a cool spot. The restaurant was busy, and TVs everywhere this place has a good sports bar feel. The dry rub wings and the pulled pork nachos were different and delicious. The BBQ sauces in this region of the U.S. are different from what I am used to. I am more familiar with a sugary base in the BBQ sauce. The sauces at Home Team BBQ have more of a vinegary base, still very good but different. Our drinks from the bar were delivered quickly and correctly. Our wait staff was attentive and got our orders to us in a timely manner. All in all, it was a great visit and I can see us coming back for more than drinks and appetizers.

My husband and I were visiting Charleston and were able to have a quick lunch here. We absolutely loved it! My husband has been to Japan so we always look for more authentic Asian restaurants. This one gave us flavors we haven’t had in the US. There wasn’t a lot of people there when we went so not sure if it’s an underrated gem or just a gem! Highly recommend.

Been excited to try this place for some time now and so happy we did. The menu is small and it showed the GF options which were helpful since my hubby has Celiac. It was also specific on the bottom that they don’t modify dishes which I can appreciate. We sat outdoor although they had a nice and spacious indoor seating and bar seats. Our server wasn’t the most personable and friendly, but she gave us a breakdown of their dishes. I asked her for a coke with my food and never got it so I didn’t even mention it because we didn’t see her after our entrees dropped. Now to the food! Pork+kimchi dumplings 4/5 - dumplings and texture were great, the sauce was good but TOO much ginger and that’s all you could really taste with a touch of soy. If they toned it down I would’ve thought it was more pleasant. Pad Kra 5/5 - it was so flavorful and all the textures were amazing, especially with the fried egg on top. Delicious! Som Tum Salad 5/5 - another delicious dish. The flavors were on point, tangy, spicy, sweet and crunchy. You could taste the fish sauce which I love! We ordered a side of rice and it went well with hot dishes. We are looking forward to trying more dishes and some cocktails next time!

This is our second visit here, and we will go back again! They have a really good old fashion. I know it is not a place you would think to get a traditional Old Fashion but they are great at making them. We have now tried them twice. The noodles is our favorite dish we have found. They have a new menu, but I'm so glad they kept the noodles- I highly recommend it! They do have a new menu, and I already wish they kept the Brussel sprouts because they were fantastic! We tried the Pad Kra Pow- and I am glad we were recommended to add the white rice with it. The pad kra pow was a little spicy and peppery. It was ok, but it needs a sauce or liquid with it. The atmosphere is great! Love the outdoor seating!

Tonight is my last night in Charleston, and I had dinner at @xiaobaobiscuit! It is in an old gas station and has a pretty cool feel. Drink: Sichuan Sting Sichuan peppercorn infused gin, lemon ginger beer, orange bitters. App: Bao Chinatown bbq, Marvin's mustard, and salt pickles. Entree: Stirfry Pad Kra Thai beef and basil stir fry with chili garlic and local veg - comes with fried sunny up egg. I also got rice with it. This place is followed on Insta by quite a few chefs and others. It was also recommended to me by someone I work with. I am so glad I decided to go! The whole meal was an experience. The drink had a Sichuan peppercorn infusion. They make your mouth and lips feel tingly. It was an interesting and good experience. The drink itself was great! It took a few minutes for the sensation to go away. It was worth it! The bao buns were full of flavor, umami, and had a great texture. The buns were nice and fluffy. I wouldn't change a thing about them! I want more, actually. 😂 The stirfry was so damn good. It had some heat, and the beef itself made me so happy. I ate it slower than normal so I could really enjoy it. The sunnyside up egg on top was the perfect finishing touch. The rice on the side is a must! If I am ever back in the area, I will be stopping by here again, no question.

This is not Asian food at all, so be aware that they only use Asian names for their food. We ordered 1 shrimp fried rice for $23 and 1 Okonomiyaki, which they claimed Japanese cabbage pancake for $15. First, the shrimp fried rice is way too overpriced for such a small portion and only 5 shrimps (I might counted wrong but there was only a few), not to mention rice is soggy, and it tastes annoyingly sour. The Okonomiyaki is even more unappetizing. THIS IS NOT JAPANESE AUTHENTIC OKONOMIYAKI, instead, it’s just oily stir fried cabbage (the cabbage was unevenly cut) with a very thin layer of flour, some dried seaweed and some sriracha and mayo. The taste is so dissonant that you don’t know what food you are eating or what flavor you are supposed to expect. As an Asian myself, I know my people’s food, I’ve had Okonomiyaki in Japan and fried rice in many different places but I never felt so offended when I tried the food here. My friends and I couldn’t even continue eating after 5 minutes and we had to leave and take the food away. When I told the manager about our experience, and that it’s not Okonomiyaki, he told me I couldn’t say that because it’s just like saying the American pizza is not pizza. I can’t believe that he literally took my words for granted and argued with such a nonsense fallacy. If I could have controlled my emotions better I would give him a lesson about cultural appropriation. At least you should indicate in the menu that these fusion food are inspired by Japanese or whatever culture and are made with your OWN STYLE. My Japanese friends are also disappointed when I showed them the food. I don’t know where he went to in Japan to learn to make this, but this can’t be the Okonomiyaki we are able to eat. Overall, I feel so disappointed and disrespected. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was cozy though. I would NEVER RECOMMEND going here if you’re craving for REAL ASIAN food. If you enjoyed the food here, I still totally understand, as our expectations are different, and I respect that. Please just keep in mind that some of the food you eat here, especially the Okonomiyaki, IS NOT ASIAN FOOD. I don’t care whatever “version” the manager is talking about, IT-IS-JUST-NOT.

They had a pretty good Japanese chicken curry the day I went. I hope they add it to the menu, I would definitely make this a weekly regular if so. I also had their Borneo Sunrise 10/10!!

I was today years old when I found out that there are lunch only items here! Tom chicken was so good and the side that says “vegetables” is actually this delicious kale salad type wonder that smells as good as it tastes! Great place for a date, to bring friends. I took today’s meal to go because I wanted to share with my partner. Otherwise I would’ve sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine!!

Let me start by saying that I work from home and I'm on my computer for 50+ hours a week. I was on my own on a Friday night so I decided to go to my favorite takeout place and dine in for the first time. I was handed a menu but told to order on the QR code. I got overwhelmed quickly. I wanted a technology-free evening which is why I took myself out tonight. I had to keep on cross-referencing the phone menu with the paper menu. And even then there were so many discrepancies between the two that I was getting really frustrated. Not to mention that they use weird shorthand on the QR menu that I didn't understand, and it was also poorly organized. I then asked if I could order with the waitress. I didn't think this would be a big deal because I heard several regulars come in and order verbally as soon as they walked in. The lady politely took my order. The food was really good and fresh. The restaurant became busy while I was dining. So I decided not to bother the waitress with paying so I went back to the QR code to see if the bill was attached to my table number and my code. It was. My entire bill was there so I thought " cool. I'll just pay on my phone!" Instead of just leaving I decided to make sure they received the payment to be polite and so they didn't think I was doing a dine and dash. The nice lady couldn't figure it out. So she got the angry sushi chef I think owner guy to look. He made me feel super bad and guilty about paying on my phone. I even showed him that everything I had ordered populated on the receipt on my phone and my confirmation. He told me to never do this again. And I asked"do what?" He said order with the waitress and then try to pay on your phone. I told him I'm sorry I ordered with the waitress but I was finding the QR system confusing. And he rudely said " well no one else has an issue with it!" And kind of just waved me off to leave. I literally just treated myself to a $120 meal (and mind you that's without alcohol!) to reprimanded like an indignant child . I feel awful and guilty and wish I could dispel my meal I'm so upset.

Do NOT come here. The food is incredibly mediocre and the service is horrible (not the woman, she is sweet) but Chef sucks. This restaurant does not come to take your order, insists you do it online (even when you're the only patrons there), and then ADDS 20+ to their own tip? My bill was $61 dollars and my bank statement now reads $91, and I definitely would not have tipped $30 considering their sushi was awful and horribly portioned. Save your money and your time.

My partner and I were in town for a couple weeks for her work, and this was easily our favorite restaurant that we found during the stay. (It was so nice that we went twice!) Overall, some of the best sushi I’ve had in awhile—and we were able to get uni on one night!—but the appetizers were great as well. Be advised it’s BYOB. We’ll definitely be back any time we’re in Charleston!

I really was excited to try this place as I love sushi and the other reviews were very positive, but I was extremely disappointed. At 5:30pm on a Saturday, I was greeted by a very friendly hostess and then sat in the front corner of an entirely empty restaurant and then directed to use the QR code on the table for the remainder of my time there…you read that correct, THERE IS NO SERVICE aside from being seated and brought your food, everything is done on your phone. While the food was fresh, it was very basic (I ordered a sample appetizer as I wanted to give it a try and was given 2 pieces of shrimp, tuna, & salmon), and it took 40 minutes to prepare in an empty restaurant. Then when paying the tab on my phone, it defaults to 25% gratuity, which is absurd for no service and already high prices. If that is how they are going to run their business, they should be take out only.

Went with my wife for our anniversary. The food is expensive compared to other similar places, but it is by far the best Asian food I've had in a long time. You really get what you pay for. It was all delicious, from the appetisers to the entrees. My only regret is not being able to eat more. Again yes it is expensive, but I eagerly await the next time we go.

The restaurant is small, but the quality of the sushi reigns here. The dining atmosphere is a little like someone's home office on the inside. Aside from that, everything else is on point. They are a BYOB restaurant. The distance from my home, BYOB, and the convenience of a competing restaurant with slightly less quality food will be the things keeping me from making it a normal visit. Otherwise, this place will top my list for sushi.

Delicious sashimi and lovely owners who take a lot of care and effort with their food.

I went here with my boyfriend for an early dinner. The biscuits were nice, hot, and fresh. We had fried green tomatoes, she-crab soup, and crab cakes for an appetizer. Our entrees were the sweet-tea lacquered salmon and catch of the day, which was red snapper over rice and gumbo. I found the food to just be okay and bland at times, not what I was looking for so I don’t see myself coming back.

This is my Absolutely favorite restaurant in Charleston! The fried chicken with the hothoney was mind blowing. Everything is out of this world! Best hushpuppies I've ever had. Pimento cheese fritters with bacon jam is unreal! Still thinking about the lavender martini.

Beautiful restaurant with a great brunch menu as well as spooky history. We had a few starters to share and then several brunch items. All were delicious and southern. Fried green tomatoes, great, simple preparation done well is always a hit. Pimento cheese fritters were rich and yummy but very heavy, sharing is a good option for this item. Grits were cooked and seasoned well which for me is a real plus because so often I think they are under seasoned. Biscuits as good as they get, light and flaky. I think these were delicious. Unfortunately we were with a really large group so I didn’t get many photos. Are there other restaurants that serve food just as good, Im sure there are, but for me I enjoyed the entire experience of this restaurant. Note, bloody Mary’s are very spicy, if you like spice, which I do I would, definitely order. Also mimosa carafe is a nice option and the mimosas were very light in color, meaning the ratio of juice to champagne was great. Will definitely return.

Seems like a popular lunch spot! We were lucky to be sat without reservations (fairly large place with in and outdoor spaces). We did lunch a round 1:00ish on a Thursday. We got the pimento cheese fritters and the award winning shrimp & grits (that was reportedly featured in USA Today)- and boy we’re both so good! The shrimp and grits were not fishy at all- the gravy was perfect. The pimento cheese fritters comes with a delicious bacon jam. They gave complimentary biscuits that we couldn’t eat because we were so stuffed. Other popular dishes (per our waitress) are the chicken and waffles, chicken sandwiches. Would recommend!

Came here with my mom and sister for brunch. We were impressed! The restaurant is so cute, service attentive but not annoying, and food was delicious! We ordered the biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, and pimento cheese fritters. The portion sizes were generous and it was perfect to share!

We visited Charleston as a cruise stop midweek. We had been on vacation in Canada and on the cruise about 2 weeks prior to arriving. We are from the south. While the food we had been eating was delicious, I was ready for a homestyle, southern meal. We were in the process of heading back to the ship, because we just weren’t sure where to eat. We walked down what seemed to be more of a side street and saw a gorgeous old house with people dining outside. We checked out the posted menu and decided to give it a try. We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming host and seated right away. Our server was friendly and quick to the table. While we had to remind him that I ordered sweet tea, I didn’t feel that was enough to remove a whole star. We ordered fried green tomatoes which is something I always order if it is on a menu. They were delicious. They also bring biscuits and honey butter to the table that was also great. The sweet tea is true southern style tea. The tea flavor was strong, and so is the sweetness…perfect in my opinion, but it may be too sweet for some. Half sweet half unsweetened may be a better option if you don’t like sugary drinks but still want to try it. For our main dishes, my husband got the shrimp and grits which he orders at most southern restaurants. I got the fried chicken sandwich and fries. He said the shrimp and grits were great. My chicken was so crunchy you could hear me bite into it and it was huge. The fries were also tasty. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I also appreciated that they aren’t afraid to salt the food! Overall, this was one of my favorite meals from our whole trip. I would eat here again.

First, the service is amazing. The food wasn’t. The biscuit and gravy was amazing except that the biscuit was hard as a brick. That’s half the meal. My wife got the chicken sandwich which was good but put together sloppy. I mean chicken was on one side of the sandwich while the pimento was on the other side. I’m pretty sure those were supposed to be toppings.

This restaurant offers a memorable experience that I’d recommend. Our server, Marco, was outstanding! The drinks were enjoyable, though a bit small. The food had great flavor, but the portions were modest and my steak lacked quality. We also tried the lamb stew—tasty, though slightly oily—but the potatoes were absolutely delicious. The ambience was exceptional, and the service was impressively fast despite the crowd, so be sure to book ahead. Overall, it was a pleasant visit, though the food didn’t quite wow me. We didn’t catch the show this time, but we have in the past and the dancers are excellent. Live music added to the vibe. Keep in mind, your visit is limited to 120 minutes, so choose your time wisely. Almost forgot, the desert was delicious. Enjoy!

What can I say…this place blew us away. While the food was wonderful, we felt the service far surpassed even that, not to mention the ridiculously breathtaking venue. The former church from the early 1900s, as we learned, now houses one of the most caring, interesting, and genuinely lovely teams we’ve ever met. I could tell you how great the food was, but I’ll let you see for yourself, as we’re still savoring the incredible encounter we had the pleasure of being part of. A big thank-you to the staff who welcomed us like family and left us wanting more.

Fun restaurant with a large bar and friendly service. Fried chicken was some of the best we have ever had, crunchy coating with a little note of sweetness and deliciously juicy and tender. Chicken is bone in which is very hard to find in a restaurant. Meatloaf was good but nothing memorable. Southern salad was great, fresh crunchy greens with a creamy dressing, not overdressed. Hummus an chips they give to start is a nice treat but hummus is a little bland. Would definitely return to try more food options and get the fried chicken again. Pepe was our bartender and he was so friendly and helpful, explaining the writings on the ceiling and answering our menu questions. Great service!!!

This place is stunning! Many of the architectural details have been kept in tact. The staff were friendly, quick and knowledgeable. We had a glitch with our on line reservation and the hostess quickly fixed the situation. We were seated in the small room off the larger dining area. We found it less noisy and cozy. My friends had the crab cake and fried chicken. They loved it. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I had the summer salad. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. For me-it was a bit too heavy on the kale.

Food was amazing here, and atmosphere was spectacular! Built in a church- stain glass windows and architecture of ceiling were gorgeous! Highly recommend the pimento cheese dip, the church and union burger and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich ! We brought our pup- they were so accommodating.

Very cool location. The interior is enough of a reason to visit. Had some really tasty unique dishes. Had a poorly made cocktail (very poor) and they made it right without a fuss. Would go back. A bit of a club vibe at night, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

We truly enjoyed our entire dining experience here! From the outside you would not know it's a restaurant inside! The Hot Honey Fried Chicken was a amazing, service, was great, place is clean, bar is large, and the details of the decor are amazing!

I came here with some girlfriends visiting me in Charleston, and I was honestly impressed! Even though I have passed by this restaurant a handful of times, Indaco wasn't really on my radar. We ordered the Tagliatelle, Peach Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, and the Mafaldine for food. Everything came out perfectly. The pizzas were excellent and a shareable size. However, I wish the pasta entrees were larger to make it easier to share. Our server helped explain to us the differences between pasta dishes and what customers' favorites are. We had a dirty martini and the 'La Paloma' to drink. The restaurant was smaller than expected, but I enjoyed the intimate setting. I would come here again or try their pasta class!

Amazing. Went two nights in a row … we rarely see fantastic bar tender, cocktails, food and atmosphere. This place rocks all three. Bar tender Mattie was amazing at making suggestions for food and drinks. Super friendly without being overbearing. Wine was great for happy hour and I am a wine complainer. Restaurants usually cheap out one wine and serve awful Meimo or Josh… their happy hour red was good! Atmosphere was great. Super hip with fun staff, happy vibe, and not too packed in too tight. Food: Bolognese was best we have ever had. Agnolotti with sweet potatoes is a dish with so much flavor I will be thinking about it for the next year when i got to an Italian restaurant. Potatoes and Brussels were my husbands favorite. But the sweet Potato dish was also something I will wish I could order in atlanta. Every dish here was created with care. Nothing on their menu is bland. Sigh— we can’t go back tomorrow night.

Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Charleston. My girlfriend and I love coming here. All the food is amazing highly recommend the pizza and the pasta. Tyler behind the bar is an AWESOME bartender and always makes the perfect cocktails. Highly recommend this dinner spot.

By far the best restaurant we ate at in Charleston. The food was amazing!! I am celiac and almost the entire menu could be made gluten free. Brittany P was the kindest, most helpful server! She made sure I felt safe eating with my restrictions! The gluten free pasta was excellent, as well as the bread and dessert! Can’t say enough positive things about our experience.

Love the atmosphere here. Takes you out of the city into a cute restaurant. The ambience is great and service was welcoming. Good came fast even though they were busy. Pictured are the Brussel sprouts which were surprisingly a little spicy to me but otherwise very good. We also got the pizza Bianca which I think would have been elevated by some sort of drizzle on top but very good!

My husband and I had our 5 year anniversary dinner here while visiting Charleston. From the very beginning, the service was wonderful! We checked in with the hostess and seated at our table that had a “happy anniversary” card on there where the individual staff members all wrote their own message. We had Fawn as our waitress for the night and absolutely adored her. I have Celiac Disease and she took great care to ensure no cross contamination with my food. We had the burrata to start and with gluten free flat bread. I decided to get a pizza and the crust was the right amount of soft and crunchiness - not the cardboard feel that is gluten folks hate. Everything was absolutely delicious!! Fawn brought out a glass of prosecco for us to enjoy on the house for our anniversary and as we were leaving gave me a knitted sunflower from a local artist. Our experience here was exceptional and we felt very well taken care of for our night. Can’t wait to come back!

My most recent visit to Indaco reminded me that I have not held this longtime gem in nearly high enough regard. They may not be the newest kid on the block filling everyone’s Instagram feed, but maybe that’s because they’re too busy serving consistently excellent food instead of chasing influencer chaos.Every single time I’ve dined here, it’s been awesome. This visit was a shared feast featuring their warm, pillowy house focaccia, perfectly tender polpette, and—my forever order—the squid ink pasta. I swear they always have some variation of it on the menu, and I get it every single time without fail. We also enjoyed the roasted sweet potato, ricotta, and balsamic agnolotti, along with the Amatriciana pizza, which was the ideal balance of smoky, savory, and satisfying. And for dessert, I made the only reasonable decision available to me: ordering the gelato trio because choosing just one felt emotionally irresponsible.. No regrets—each flavor was rich, creamy, and the perfect finish to the meal. They rotate their menu seasonally but seem to retain a few beloved staples, and the pricing remains refreshingly reasonable compared to many of the very expensive options nearby. Indaco, I’m sorry for ever taking you for granted. You’re officially in my regular rotation now.

This is a hidden gem in North Charleston. I got the crab balls with the seafood rice it came with cornbread. I wish the person behind the counter would have told me that the platter was the same price. But I guess it was fine that I didn’t get the platter because my mom and aunt said the vegetables were out of can. I liked how we given a mini cup of frozen koolaid because of the heat. That was nice. The crab balls, seafood rice and cornbread were good. The prices are good.

Great experience at Bertha’s kitchen! From the minutes you walk in you know you are in a family establishment. Loved the pictures throughout. You know you will feel the love in the food as well. Staff was helpful and pleasant. We were even given Kool aid icee while waiting. The chicken and Mac and cheese were my favorites. Cornbread was good too. We will be back. ❤️

Great establishment. Friendly staff. And the icing, free icey pops. The food is like your grandma's. Tasteful and takes you back when you felt the warm embrace of a home-cooked meal from grandma's.

So I tried this place and was excited. Dont go if you dont have time to wait. The line seems to always be long. I got the fried chicken red rice string beans and MAC. It came with cornbread. The red rice waa great! The chicken wasn't really seasoned well and the MAC seemed to be really soft almost like mush. The cornbread was really dry also. The string beans were good though! While I was disappointed im willing to trt it again and get something different. Also the parking is stressful and almost made me leave. Its pretty ridiculous. The people are nice but for the price i expected at least the fried chicken to be good. Ill try again though but not anytime soon.

It really depends on who's the foodie, some will call the cuisine soul food, others will say it's southern comfort, but I'll just say that it's great food. I've been going to this dive since the 80s and I still can't get enough of the tasteful dishes that are served there. The lima beans and rice are very good with a side of cornbread. All of the sides can be mouth watering as well particularly the sweet potatoes that's almost as good as my wife sweet potatoes. This restaurant is very much in shadows of the great culinary scene around Charleston, but it has been nationally recognized. Mrs Bertha is no longer with us but her legacy lives on with her daughter's and granddaughters still holding it down. There's inside dining but mostly take out is conducted. I must remind you that the lines will be long, especially during lunch hours because it happens to be in the middle of a business hub. Parking is free but very limited as well.

I was visiting from Charlotte. I read the reviews and was really excited about trying the food. Not a good choice at all. I got the special. Which was white rice and Lima beans mixed together (I thought they would be separate). The rice was not fully cooked and the Lima beans were like gravy. This was a different texture and food experience and I personally would not order again. I ordered an extra side, which was the macaroni and cheese. Very disappointing and a waste of additional money.The macaroni was overcooked and too soft. I gave them two stars for their chicken that was my choice from the special between fried or baked. I normally only like white meat but they said they were not dropping any more fried chicken so I had to get dark meat. It was a drumstick and thigh. The chicken was hot and crispy. It was also very juicy and seasoned to the bone. The best item out of the four choices. Not sure if I would personally go back in the future.

In my top 3 breweries in the Charleston area. High quality, creative beer. Wolves at the Door is a personal favorite. Its available only in fall and winter but worth the wait.

First time here! We love all their beers and were blown away with the whole brewery experience. We had the Oktoberfest specials and they were probably the best I’ve ever had. The absolute best bratwurst, pork schnitzel, and German potato salad ever! I loved the new Carolinian beer and we had several others. The Apple Cider Donuts is another of my fall favorites. Christy offered us a brewery tour and her knowledge was amazing. Loved every minute of our afternoon here and can’t wait to go back.

Fast and friendly service. Was not expecting to have some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had at a brewery. Very solid beer selection, sours are great, don’t sleep on the kolsch. Super clean and refreshing

Fabulous experience. Came with my best friend who is in the beer industry; we were sent to meet up with Scott Shor. Because he stepped out, he put us in touch with Julie, a manager, who happened to be at the door. She was super friendly and engaging. She found us a great spot at the bar and made sure we were introduced to the bartender, Hannah. Scott came shortly afterward and gave us a tour of the brewery, which was spotless clean and cool to experience. Aside from getting VIP treatment, the tap room has a great atmosphere, food, 22 lines of excellent beer and great swag. You won’t be disappointed.

It is just a bar, and i don't drink. BUT the cauliflower appetizer was the most delicious appitizer I've ever had. Next time it will just be the main coarse. Like I'm going to dream of that and can't wait to have it again. Server hit it on the head when he brought it out. I always have the servers pick what i eat. The sandwich was good, but not amazing. GET the cauliflower!

CLOSED the two times I tried to come this week. I heard the food was amazing. They look abandoned. Worn out sun faded paper signs about being closed. Window shades drawn. No lights. No signs of life or really ever having been open. YES I’m at the right place. Yes, I came at lunch (12 noon). On a Tuesday and on a Friday. I tried to come later in the day as well. Both times during their window of being open. Bummer. A true bummer.

Wanted to hit this place up before leaving Charleston and so glad I did. It's truly nothing fancy about this place, but what matters most is that the food is fire. And fire it was! I ordered the Seafood Platter ($19.50), which came with fried shrimp & fish, scallops, and devil crab). It was all served up with fries and it was such a satisfying meal. The fish was perfectly fried and the shrimp was big! Never had devil crab before, but I liked it. It was crab cake-ish in terms of texture and taste, but wholly unique as well. This was a black-owned restaurant that I was excited to support and I can see why it's remained a popular spot in the city for good seafood.

This place is good overall. Good food, fair prices, staff is nice. We got a seafood platter for $19.50: deep fried shrimps, scallops, fish and devil crab. And French fries off course)) everything was not bad, crispy, juicy, not oversalted. Didn't like crab, didn't understand what is it) so you can save $4 for that crab and order something different))

My favorite Asian Market in Charleston!! When we lived in Georgia we used to shop at Super H Mart. It was basically this but 3 times the size. We loved that place. But it was so expensive!! This market may be smaller, but it has everything we are looking for and more! What's more? Did i mention it is MUCH cheaper than our old Asian Super Market. I did not. This is an excellent spot to shop for Asian goods.

We stopped into purchase a wok that will be used to cook outside. This is the second one that we have purchased from this particular store. One of them we gave is a gift . The one we got today is huge and made of really good material. Everyone is nice when you walk in. The store is always clean and the shelves always seem to be stocked pretty well . This particular store has almost everything you would think should be in a store like this - from kitchenware to seafood to spices to meds. You can also get a hot meal in their deli type area with seating . There is lots of fresh seafood , on ice, in the back in the back of the store. The store is kid friendly and shares the parking lot with many other stores. It is in a shopping center right off of Rivers Avenue. Plenty of assessable parking is available.

One of the best Pho in town. Full of flavor lots of meat including cow tripe & collegian. Delicious! It has gone up in price but it is worth every penny.

Easily my favorite grocery store, the staff is always so kind and knowledgeable. Sometimes you can't find exactly what you're looking for, but, there is always some sort of alternative that is there. Every time I plan a trip there, I know it's going to be a great experience

I stopped there yesterday to do some groceries shopping on my way back home to conway.. Purchased few kinds of vegetables. The green bitter mustard as my favorite one..but very disappointed...I thought only couple leafs are yellow..actually the whole thing is bad...just wasted.

Had a great time here! We ordered the award winning she crab soup, the fried chicken liver, fried chicken and biscuit, and the crab cake Benedict. Have to say we didn't love the soup as much as we had expected. It was pretty thick and not enough crab. I did love the fried chicken liver though, it was perfectly fried and paired nicely with the grits. The crab cake Benedict was great and was a solid pick as well. Fried chicken had good flavor and loved the crispy bits throughout both entrees. Service was also amazing- we were taken care of very nicely by Philip who was attentive and kind! Had dinner here while in Charleston recently - service was good, food was good. Tomato pie was better than I expected, we enjoyed it more than the shrimp and grits appetizer. Wife had the fried fish and grits and devoured it and talked about it for days afterwards. I tried the chicken bog out of childhood nostalgia reasons - crispy chicken skins were a nice touch, it was a bit light on the actual amount of chicken in my opinion so if you’re looking for a solid amount of protein I would choose a different dish. Would definitely return.

This She Crab soup is the best in town. That said, also get the tomato pie starter. Calamari is crisply coated and tender inside. Crab cakes are thick and luscious and both sauces enhance the experience. Fish and grits smothered with sweet corn and Vidalia onion is also recommended. Equal to the food is a charming atmosphere and exceptional service. We were accommodated beyond expectations. Shout out to Ross our almost-bartender because we were seated before he could start our drinks: thank you for your hospitality

82 Queen has been on my bucket list for a few years now. So here I was, finally, in South Carolina for my anniversary trip and I sure as heck was going to check this off the list. It was the most delicious way to end our trip 😋 First of all, Scotty, our server WAS LIFE!!!! We were seated outdoors on a beautiful night 🌙 As we got comfortable in our seats we discovered an anniversary card on our table (so sweet ❤️). We started out with bourbon cocktails, Muddled Creek, that were divine and smooth on the palate. For our starters we ordered a cup of she-crab soup, BBQ shrimp and grits and a crab cake. Scotty took our order but promptly came back and offered to "change our life" by suggesting we switch out the shrimp and grits for the tomato pie 🥧 And a life changing experience it most certainly was. The she-crab soup was creamy, but not heavy. The crab cake did not skimp on crabs, although I wish it were lump crab meat in it. And the tomato pie 🍅, oh my, was unbelievably delicious. It was creamy and cheesy, with bacon bits for contrasting texture and juicy tomatoes to round it all out. For entrée we shared the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meat was fall apart, the au jus made for a great gravy and the green beans had a lovely snap to them. We ended the meal with a slice of limoncello cake, my absolute favourite, and received a complimentary slice, which we shared with the couple at the next table. The cake was velvety and sweet and just the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner and trip. But wait, there's more. Just when we thought we were finished eating and drinking, Scotty showed up with champagne 🍾, a big smile and a "happy anniversary to you" so drink up. I almost needed a wheel barrow to get me out of there. Can't wait to go back ❤️

Stopped in to have a bite at the bar. They have several areas to dine including an interior formal room, a pretty courtyard and a pleasant bar. The bartender “Mel” was great, professional and worked hard to accommodate the customer. I only ordered a couple of dishes, the tomato tart, some oysters and a salad. Unfortunately the oysters seemed over cooked or had been left to dry under a heat lamp while the other food was being prepared I am guessing. The tomato tart was good however and the salad was fresh and crisp, however the menu said the salad was priced at $15 and I noticed after I had been charged $21 ( not sure why although I asked for some extra dressing, but $6 - not sure). Anyway, a pleasant restaurant and worth a visit.

A lovely lunch in the bar area. Friendly service. The sauce on my BBQ shrimp and grits overpowered the grits a bit but still very good. Wife enjoyed her fish and grits. Excellent atmosphere.

The brunch was amazing! Our reservation was for 10am so the restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived but was packed by the time we left. Our waitress Chelsea was so great! She answered all of our questions, and made sure my one year old son got his eggs right away(they came out in under 2 minutes!) we got the fish and grits and the crème brûlée French toast and both plates were amazing!! We also got the drink of the day and the krumkake butter pecan cream soda, both were delicious.

I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. It made the entrance easy and was able to plan ahead to think about what guided tours we wanted to do in advance. The grounds at Middleton are gorgeous! We learned about the Middleton family, some of the people who worked on the plantation through the years and the historical significance of plantation in shaping history. I wished the docent were more explicit about why the black slaves did not runaway or when they did the harsh repercussions. There was vert discussion about the psychological scarring of slavery and the fear instilled upon all.

It’s like taking a step back in time when entering this rice plantation. The gardens are kept in a way that you can feel the history and age. The knowledge from the staff and the few tours we did was impressive. We spent about 4hrs doing two small tours and enjoying the grounds.

I’m really glad I had the opportunity to visit this plantation. Its story is at the heart of America’s colonial beginnings. Several tours are included with the price of admission and I appreciated their Garden Tour as well as their Beyond Slavery Tour. Whether your walking the grounds, coming for lunch, or learning it’s deep history, one could easily spend the day here.

My daughters and I visited yesterday. We took the Beyond the Fields tour, about the Enslaved People's experience, with Linda. We all found it to be very informative and even emotional. The property is well preserved and tended and the docents are quite knowledgeable. The Middleton Oak is magnificent. Being mid-August, the weather was hot and humid which, combined with an approaching thunderstorm, cut our visit short. We agreed that our visit was a highlight of the trip.

This place is absolutely beautiful and the guides are great! Put on your walking shoes and prepare to see alligators. I would like to see access to the house included in admission price as it is not cheap. Also please have sandwiches/wraps in snack bar that is at entrance.

We were in town from Michigan to attend a Sunday wedding. The wind was very strong and the temperature really dropped. The wedding was held outside by the large trees. It was very scenic but quite a walk from the parking lot to spot wearing high heels. The parlor where the reception was held was a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests. There were no cocktail tables to place snacks and cocktails prior to the reception starting. The food was great and the bartenders were very attentive. It was a romantic spot for a wedding but from a logistics perspective, very challenging to get transportation to and from our hotel. Guests had to take the shuttle to and from the venue. The reception ended by 10:30 PM to account for the return shuttles to the hotel. Family and friends made it a wonderful event.

I could have spent days here instead of just a few hours. The vast grounds offer dazzling landscapes. There are tours and stories about the generations of families who lived here, both the enslaved and the plantation owners. It is a trip back in time.

So all the meat we had was amazing!!! The brunswick stew had great flavor but had a lil spice I was not expecting. The beans were ok too they had a lil taste that was different but still good. The coleslaw (mayo based..you have to tell them that..they have a vinegar based one too) was really good and fresh tasting. The sweet tea was really good! The mac n cheese was good too! The sauces were not our favorite but the sweet red and gold mustard one were the ones we used... Prices were a lil high... so beware. I did buy a shirt.. it was 25.. I got lucky and got one while I was there or you can go online.

I am in the area for work for a few days and this place was recommend to me by a couple of people! Drink: Columbia Craft Brewing Compnay Modern Gothic Kölsch App: Pork Rinds with Pimento Cheese These things we're still crackling when they got to our table. They were so fresh and delicious! The pimento was great as well. Entree: I had the 3 meat tray. I ordered the smoked pork belly, brisket, and ribs. The sides were mac and cheese and hash and rice! Everything had great smokey flavor and was tender. My favorite was the smoked pork belly! The hash and rice was very interesting! They used their pulled pork, blended it up a bit, and used one of their sauces and put it over rice. I also got to try the smoked turkey and collards, thanks to Megan. Everything was really good, and our server was very informative. He gave us great recommendations. The atmosphere was fun, too.

The food was beautiful and the atmosphere was amazing. This could have been a five star review if they did not charge extra for using card rather than cash. Its 2025 and anyone under 70 years old tends to pay with card. We have travelled by car on holiday from California to South Carolina and have been able to pay via contactless in the smallest of business with no additional fee. All this fee did was force me to tip less hurting your serving team. My advice is stop charging for card payments and upgrade your payment systems asap.

The greens are vinegar greens which I like. All the meats were very well seasoned and tender. Hubby got an order of ribs to go. Looked good however tasted boiled then placed on the smoker.

Pulled pork arrived cold but had good flavor. Brisket and Mac and Cheese were good. They were out of the banana pudding. However, Jackson provided great service.

This was an outstanding experience! We enjoyed the 6 course tasting with the wine pairing and it was truly an educational experience. They gave an in depth history of the food and the wine with each course and answered any of our questions with grace. If you’re a foodie, this is a must. We celebrated our birthday and anniversary and really enjoyed the service as well- true service in a restaurant is a lost art but the staff here are genuinely happy to serve you and treat you like royalty. The atmosphere is romantic, comfortable and fun with the live jazz. This is such a treasure of Charleston.

The March 2025 tasting menu included: Spring asparagus with lemon gel and a spiced almond Herb de Provence brioche South Carolina yellowfin tuna crudity with passion fruit, avocado mousse, kumquat, and chili oil Local grouper with lemon risotto and fresh herbs Onion brodo, salt cured and baked Vidalia onion, mushrooms, and black garlic with brown broth Spanish octopus with sunchoke purée, chorizo, and smoked paprika emulsion Prime beef tenderloin with pomme purée, truffled carrots, and sauced perigeaux Poached pears with creme fraiche and cinnamon.

I cannot recommend the Charleston Grill enough. My partner and I are vegetarian. Seeing that the menu already offered a few items that would work for us, I reached out by email a few weeks in advance asking if the kitchen could accommodate an extra off-menu main and appetizer. Just the next day, I was contacted by Lizzie, who was fantastic to work with; our preferences were noted enthusiastically. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and Lizzie, who came out to welcome us, and shown to a beautiful table. Over the course of the next few hours, we were served by multiple people who all took the time to assure us our preferences had been prepared for and had the pleasure of having many delicious dishes both on and off-menu. The food was of course very good. And the kitchen team was kind enough to put together enough vegetarian items for us to be able to have a fully veg tasting menu each, if we wanted to opt for that. We went with two apps and mains to share among ourselves, and I was especially fond of an off-menu stuffed summer tomato served in the bakeware it was cooked in. Multiple dishes included a table side finish, which was fun to watch. The single best part of the evening was the service. We must have interacted with a half dozen people, and every single person was excited to have us there and created an atmosphere that made us want to keep ordering more and stay as long as we could. We were impressed by our waiters’ eagerness to join us in putting vegetables at the center of our meal for the night. The aforementioned stuffed tomato, for example, was brought to the table and introduced with the same flair as an aged ribeye, and we were checked on multiple times to see if we were enjoying the off-menu creations. Other highlights included a man with a warm bread basket giving us the slightest wink and side eye when we declined extra bread (we had to take more after that) and the many conversations with each person who came by our table. Overall, everyone was warm, knowledgeable, and damn good at their job. As a student, opportunities to go someplace this nice are infrequent; furthermore, fine dining can be a challenging experience as a vegetarian. But, when celebrating an occasion with your partner, one must deliver. Overall, I’m proud that the place I saved up, planned, and drove for was this one. These two young herbivores will be looking for reasons to go back to the Grill soon. Give this place your business.

The perfect restaurant. The food, service, and ambiance are incredible here. The Waygu tenderloin was the best steak I’ve ever had. The crab cake and carrot cake were also amazing. Our servers, Drew and Jennifer, were helpful, friendly, and engaging. They were awesome. The restaurant has such a comfortable, peaceful vibe to it. We loved the live music too. I have been to just about every fine dining restaurant in Charleston and the Charleston Grill is now my favorite.

Superb dinner, wine paring and service. Went here for our 5 year anniversary and it was fantastic. Went with the prix fixe menu with 2nd tier wine pairing. Was blown away by both. Highly recommend the Charleston Grill. Service was excellent as two servers are assigned to each table. Somm brought of slew of great and interesting wines. Dishes were divine.

Excellent dinner! Foie gras with strawberry sauce was outstanding. The crabcakes were very flavorful. The main entre of Venison was very good, with interesting sides, even though I would have enjoyed a few more pieces of vegetables. I had a small tasting of the fish entre and I liked the crisp on the fish preparation. The service was friendly and helpful, we felt very welcomed.

We celebrated my birthday Saturday night and this was one of the best dining experiences my wife and I ever had. With so many tempting food options, my wife and I decided to do the chef’s tasing menu with the bucket list wine pairings. I was in search of something local and happened to come across this lovely gem while in Charleston. Many items are homemade! I ordered the pickles for starters, and wow, they're full of flavors - sour, salty, and heat! They know how to pickle! Then, I had to try to have a lucky sandwich and homemade pork rinds. The kimchi in the sandwich was out of this world and also homemade! Get out! I was accidentally served the duck fat fries, which were delicious! The sandwich was a bit juicy, so it made the bottom of the bun a bit soggy. I'm so glad I stopped in for appetizing southern cuisine. The service was excellent and prompt. I tried the grapefruit radler. The encouraged graffiti is fun. The taxidermy is interesting. I would recommend this restaurant! Thanks, Tattooed Moose!

Our family from Buffalo joined us to celebrate our son’s birthday at the Tattooed Moose this Saturday night. We have been to the location on John’s Island before so the atmosphere isn’t quite as nice here but the food is just as delicious. We had an array of items on the menus such as Garlic and Blue Cheese fries; unbelievably delicious, turkey dinner sandwich, Duck Club sandwich, Cobb Salad, Porkstrami Rueben, Jumbo wings in two flavors and Tattooed Moose burger. Everything was awesome and Kali our server was very engaging and attentive to our needs; a real asset to the Moose. The music was a bit loud so having conversation was a little difficult especially when the basketball bagan banging against the backboard. The outdoor eating area is quite large although the hot humid weather last night kept us indoors.

Great local spot! We were traveling through and found the Moose on a list of DDD spots. We were not disappointed. The beer list is great. They have old fashioned drinks on tap. The service was wonderful. The food was great ( duck fries, Nashville hot chicken Sammie, flaffel) The vibe is super chill. You can write on things with markers. What else could you want?!

Rosie's thoughtful touch ensured our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. My mom savored the Philly and Brunswick stew, both of which were truly phenomenal. I indulged in the Thanksgiving sandwich, a culinary masterpiece that left my palate singing. With numerous amazing spots to explore during our visit from Michigan, we both agreed that we simply must return here before heading home, inspired by the unforgettable experience.

Great atmosphere. I loved the various taxidermy animals as well as the tables that you can write on with a Sharpie. We got the Mike’s famous duck club with fries and the Lucky #1 sub with Brunswick stew. All of the food was unique and amazing. We will definitely come back for more!

It is a fun place to go! Great venue for bands so watch out for their schedule. Their food is decent, not amazing but will get the job done. Service is slightly above average. Prices are reasonable. Overall good time. Would return!

Extremely eclectic restaurant. Excellent Duck Club Sandwich with house made pork rinds, which is obviously not something you find everywhere. Bathroom graffiti among the most bizarre and entertaining in the state,big not the southeast. Great live music when we were there. Overall, would definitely come here again.

I wish all the ordinary will be like this place. Fresh oysters, dishes done for perfection, everything in each dish is needed. Attentive service, great cocktails. Highly recommended

Our server, Alison, was very knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance and impeccable service throughout our dining experience. Started with the fish cake. Very light and tasty. I had the Red Snapper, so many flavors. Every bite was heaven. My wife, had the Waygu steak with mushrooms, so delicious! Usually, I am leery of going to a seafood restaurant and ordering anything other than seafood but in this case, I would not hesitate ordering the steak! For a side we went with their seasonal rice dish. So many flavors For dessert we had the Pannacotta paired with a glass of white port wine and Chocolate Hazelnut pot de creme paired with a tawny port. We savored every bite and enjoyed this dining experience, from start to finish.

We received a very generous gift certificate to The Ordinary as a wedding gift, as we were visiting Charleston on our honeymoon, and we had a wonderful and memorable dining experience from start to finish! We were impressed from the moment we were seated. The restaurant and bar spaces were expansive with huge windows and soaring ceilings, and beautifully decorated. We were welcomed at our table by a little handwritten card wishing us “congratulations,” and our server, Allison, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful. After delivering our cocktails and complimentary bubbles, she offered to take our photo and proceeded to arrange not only our seating but the items on the table to ensure a very nice shot! Our cocktails were uniquely crafted and very enjoyable, not too heavy or sweet. My husband ordered the crab cake appetizer and the snapper for his main course. I ordered the Wagyu Steak Diane and we shared a side of the seasonal rice (without the shrimp) - every bite of food was so flavorful! We paired our desserts with a white and a tawny port. Fabulous dinner and dining experience. I imagine it’s often said: anything BUT ordinary!

One of the top experiences I’ve had in Charleston. Our server was friendly and helped answer a lot of questions that we had. We started off with a dozen oysters that may have been the most fresh and delicious I’ve had in town. We could’ve easily had a dozen each by ourselves. Loved their wine selections and had 3 throughout the courses we had. I’ve had bolognese and pappardelle so many times but man this one was absolutely perfect. The pasta was thin but cooked so well and held all the delicious meat and sauce in every bite. We got the snapper with mustard although I don’t usually like mustard but our server said it’s very mild in flavor. So glad we got it because it was amazing. Fish was crispy on the outside, flaky yet soft. And when you scooped it up with the corn and sauce, it was so satisfying. Towards the end we got to meet one of the managers that had been there for several years, and he told us about the history of the building and it being an old bank which I thought was super cool. The layout of the restaurant with multiple floors and just bustling with energy. We thoroughly enjoyed everything!

Had an okay experience at The Ordinary. I thought most of our food was generally good, but my grouper was overcooked. For close to a $50 entree, I expected flawless. Cool atmosphere and great service, but the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. Definitely time to refresh your furniture!

This place is amazing! Kian, our server, was so attentive and timely during our experience, not to mention Chef De Cousine, Zach Crosby, who came out of the kitchen to introduce himself. They take so much care into what they do. I will be back!

I finally returned back to The Ordinary, and it was just as good the second time. A staple is the Fried Oyster Slider, it is a MUST! So much flavor and the oyster is fried perfectly. Beware if you don’t like spice, there was a Jalapeño on it this time. Easy fix to take it off though. We tried the raw bar oysters as well— locations all in SC/NC. I prefer briney oysters, and I would say these were on the milder side. One of the servers actually described one as a “sweet marshy” 😂 For entrees my husband and I shared the MUSTARD CRUSTED BEELINER SNAPPER, and I was wildly surprised I enjoyed the creamed corn that it was with. I honestly chose it with minimal thought— the whole menu looked great. Our friend had the Smoked Bird Island Cup Oysters, and she said it was great. Only complaints were HUGE bites. Maybe avoid that for a first date if he/she takes you here haha. 🅿️Parking: always a struggle, but there is a lot behind the restaurant at the hotel for $$, or you can take a chance with Cannon Street parking. $$ expect to spend minimum of 100$ if you are getting entrees.

What a find! Visiting Charleston and had read good things about The Glass Onion. It did not disappoint! Our server ( Haley?) was just the cutest! So bubbly, knowledgeable and attentive. We were a party of 6. We had shrimp po boy, chicken sandwich, pork chops, gumbo and shrimp and grits. Everything was fresh and excellent. My son said it was the best chicken sandwich he’s ever had and he’s had a lot! The macaroni salad is amazing! We even bought a couple of cookbooks. Can’t wait to try some recipes. Don’t pass this place by!

We loved The Glass Onion, it was the best meal we had when we were in Charleston. My husband had the shrimp and grits with a side of collards and I had the sautéed trout with rice and butter beans, everything was delicious. In addition the atmosphere was very welcoming and the servers were terrific. We had to have dessert as we heard that the pastry chef was excellent. We had the banana pudding and the bread pudding and we loved every bite. We will be sure to go back there if we ever visit the area again.

Excellent Southern Cuisine!! The Glass Onion serves delicious locally sourced food that’s cooked from scratch. I had fried shrimp with a house made remoulade, side of perfectly seasoned collards, and cornbread. My husband had catfish that was so tender it fell apart! The tartar sauce was also made in house, and delicious! Their menu changes daily…WOW! The staff was attentive and friendly, service was excellent. Will be back in the next time we’re in Charleston!

Good restaurant. The food is very good, although the portions are small. The pork belly and collard greens were very good. The cornbread was good, but served without butter. I had to request it. My kids ordered chicken strips and we had to request ketchup after the food was delivered as they were not delivered with any sauces. The service was friendly, but did not really anticipate needs/wants. It’s not somewhere I’m dying to go back to, but not a bad option if you want some slightly above average low country cuisine. 4 stars because the pork belly was fantastic despite the small portion.

AMAZING southern comfort food. Stopped on the way to the airport, and it was delicious. Fried green tomato a must! We both had the buttermilk chicken sandwich, it was all great quality and good tasting! Service was friendly and top notch!

Fantastic meal. We tried a variety of menu items and everything was incredible. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and Brussels sprouts (best I have ever had!). Prices were very reasonable as a bonus!

Friendly staff, quick service, and good food. For sure get the brussel sprouts appetizer. You will spell it approaching the table, and it tastes even better than it smells. The pimento cheese is good, and the fried chicken is incredible. If you still have room, get the bread pudding for dessert. I'm usually not a fan of nuts in my desserts, but they were good in this pudding. This is definitely worth a stop while in Charleston!

The Darling Oyster Bar had such amazing food! It was my first time trying raw oysters, and they were so good! It's really worth trying to stop in during their happy hour to get the discounted oysters. I got their fry basket with fried shrimp and fried oysters. The shrimp was fried differently from what I've had before, and it was amazing! We also got the crab dip to start, and it was good as well. They had a Mexican style cheesecake as one of their desserts. It was so good and had a lot of citrus on it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because our server was not very attentive. She rarely came to check on us, while the other servers were attentive to their tables. Everything else was amazing, and we had such a great time!

Slid in at happy hour and took a spot at the bar. Quick and friendly service for oysters, crab dip, and a green salad. James River VA oysters happy hour priced for just $1 ea. plus a nice mix of regional oysters. The crab dip is a must. The salad had a nice dressing with crispy bread crumbs mixed throughout. Carrots, radishes, cucumbers sliced thin so they add to, not overwhelm. My Negroni was quite possibly the best I've had, and my wife enjoyed the Pear 75.

Not just oysters, but a good and interesting full menu. Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The food was great, The oysters of course were delicious, the service delightful and I even found a beer that I liked (not just overpowered IPAs or tasteless thin lagers!!) Would definitely dine here again.

The oysters were stellar. And this review I want to applaud and praise whoever is responsible for the draft beer, it is the best I have had anywhere in the city. So many things can go wrong, pressure, insulation, length of line from keg to tap, etc, etc. local hazy ipa was perfect. Crisp, clean, proper head, impeccable lacing. Thank you for not just taking my money, but ensuring I had a great draft beer. Respect 🫡

The experience here was soooo good we went back a second time...that is saying something given the excellent food scene in Charleston. The fried oysters and shrimp basket was simply incredible! Best cooked fried shrimp and oysters of my life; yes I had them both times we visited...they were that good

Good BBQ, Can give it a try! I came in with high expectations thanks to all the buzz — and while the BBQ was good, it didn’t quite blow my mind. The pulled pork was tender and smoky, and the sauce had a nice tang, but honestly… I’ve had better in less-hyped spots. Ribs were solid, and the sides were decent — not life-changing, just good. Corn bread was nice. The vibe is cool, fast-casual with a local feel, and the staff was friendly. But for all the attention this place gets, I expected something a little more memorable. It’s worth a visit if you’re nearby and craving BBQ — just don’t expect a religious experience. This isn’t the holy grail of smoked meat, but it’s a respectable stop in Charleston.

We stopped by Rodney Scott’s BBQ and went straight for the tray with three kinds of meat. It was outstanding—tender, smoky, and full of flavor. Each cut had its own character, but all of them were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portion was generous, and it really felt like the best way to experience what this place is all about. I also have to highlight the fish sandwich. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to be such a standout at a barbecue spot, but it was excellent. Crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside, with just the right balance of seasoning and texture. It was simple, but done with so much care that it really impressed me. The vibe is casual and welcoming, and the food speaks for itself—hearty, satisfying, and memorable. I would definitely recommend Rodney Scott’s not just for the barbecue classics, but also for that fish sandwich, which turned out to be one of the best surprises of the meal.

We saw Rodney's episode of Mind of a Chef so of course we had to check out his restaurant while on a recent trip to Charleston. It's easy to see why he's a James Beard award winner. My husband and I each had a 2-meat plate. Each came with a choice of two meats and two sides as well as a slice of cornbread. I opted for Carolina style pulled pork and ribs and my husband had the brisket and southern style pulled pork. There was a wide variety of sauce to choose from at each table. For sides we had mac and cheese and baked beans (me) and fries and cole slaw (my husband). We also ordered a side of hush puppies. Everything was so delicious! The portions were very generous, especially given the low price tag. The meat was tender and very flavorful & the sides were all very good as well. I've never had good mac and cheese in a restaurant but his just blew me away. The hush puppies were moist and delicious as well. It was clean and the staff was very attentive and super friendly. I would highly recommend this place for bbq done right at a great price! ❤️

We stopped by this Black-owned barbecue spot while visiting Charleston, and it was really good. Coming from Texas, we’re pretty tough critics when it comes to barbecue, but this place held its own. The food was flavorful and fresh, the staff were friendly, and the manager made a point to come around and check on everyone, which was a nice touch. Even though it was busy, the wait wasn’t long, and the service stayed on point. Great atmosphere, great location, and overall a really solid experience. We’d definitely come back next time we’re in town!

A first time for me, I had people suggesting this restaurant for BBQ. I got the Pulled chicken sandwich, ¼ lb of brisket. The sandwich came with (1) side & white sauce, I chose Baked beans and got a extra side of coleslaw and collards. The food came out fast enough, but for myself the collards were barely warm. The Pulled chicken was good with the white sauce and I especially thought the Brisket was the best item I ordered. As I was leaving I decided to try a Fresh Baked Tart, they're surprisingly good.

3.5 stars Rodney Scott’s Barbecue has a lot of potential, but it doesn’t fully deliver the knockout BBQ experience I was hoping for. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a rustic charm—wooden tables, checkered napkins, and a faint twang of country music in the background. The staff is friendly and efficient, making the dining experience pleasant and welcoming. The menu covers all the BBQ essentials: ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and a solid selection of sides. I ordered the half-rack of St. Louis-style ribs with coleslaw and mac ‘n’ cheese. The ribs had a nice smoke ring and a decent crust from the dry rub, but they were slightly overcooked, resulting in meat that was less tender than ideal. The house BBQ sauce was tangy with a touch of sweetness, though it leaned a bit too heavy on the vinegar for my liking. I sampled the brisket from a friend’s plate, and it was a highlight—juicy with a good bark, though it could’ve used a bolder seasoning. The sides were hit-or-miss. The mac ‘n’ cheese was creamy and satisfying, but the coleslaw felt lackluster, missing the crunch or zesty kick to complement the richer mains. Celebrated the day before Valentine's Day here to avoid crowds. Enjoyed the sparkling rose. The bread and oil was just that. Highly recommend adding spices to the olive oil since it was not enjoyable with zero flavor to it. The apps were good. The duck was VERY FATTY. Don't recommend it. The tuna tartar was full of what tasted like full of mayonnaise and couldn't even taste the tuna. Don't recommend it either. The sausage lamb was good, and the Taziki sauce was good! The beet salad was fresh but very small. The service was good. The online pictures make the restaurant look much bigger than it actually was (which was fine). The outdoor would be nice for when the weather is better. Would go back and try again. Good location and parking lot was across the street.

Muse is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and even better staff. I was there for a bachelorette celebration and Donnie made the experience so fun! He chose several dishes for us as well as cocktails and wine to pair our individual palates and the dishes. We shared several apps, entrees, and desserts and each one was incredible. Even the pickiest of us found several dishes they loved. Each staff member we interacted with was truly lovely and I already can’t wait to go back!

The food was fantastic. Our waiter, Donny, was amazing. We had a group of eight and he designed our meal for us. He picked our appetizers and entrees to share. The food was delicious. The outdoor patio area was a really great place. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in Charleston.

Okay, we have been here like 10 times and every time is just as good as the time before. The bruschetta special from last night with the caramelized onions, ribeye, & salad was OUTSTANDING. I am such a picky eater and really enjoyed this. I get the carbonara every time and this time it was top tier. Extra creamy and flavorful and the chicken was incredibly tender. The catch of the day yesterday, the grouper, was also legit outstanding. The entire plate was cleaned and I am not someone who enjoys fish but really enjoyed the flavors on this plate. Our server, Ian, was knowledgeable about the menu and made the night enjoyable. We will be back & hope to see our guy Donnie next time! Thanks for a good meal :)

I’m laughing reading all of the 5 star reviews that describe our very similar experience with Donny last night. He’s a local legend. We had a group of 7 and he selected all of our appetizers and entrees, told stories and jokes, cried with me when we realized he was the bartender my mom talked about all the time before she passed away… The food was incredible (listen to him about the meatballs and french fries and the pickled shrimp are perfection), the atmosphere was perfect - even outside on a hot night, and the rest of the staff were just amazing. Special touches to celebrate a wonderful friend made for a memorable night that has us texting this morning about making Muse our regular celebration spot.

Muse did not disappoint, from the moment we walked in there was great service from the host to every waiter. Donnie(pictured behind me) had an amazing vibe that made us love this restaurant!! I will say… the price was a little bit steep but Donnie picked our whole meal and I do think the food was a 10/10. We spend around $115 per person for this meal but if you want a 10/10 experience in Charleston this is the place to go. I’d definitely come back and bring more friends. Money comes and goes… but the memories are forever!

If Donnie asks you to trust him, DO IT! We had the most wonderful meal and service! We had a party of 5. He first asked if we had food allergies or anything food that we didn’t like. Then, he took it from there….he ordered and brought a variety of food for everyone to sample and it kept coming…..Everything was delicious. He paired the wine perfectly for us as well. Such a memorable experience! We will definitely go back and ask for Donnie!

Atmosphere and service was fantastic! We came to Millers for a quick brunch before heading home. We got the banana bread and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The banana bread was heavenly! It was moist and had a light chocolate cream that melted right on your tongue. The grilled cheese was super crispy and the tomato soup was amazing! The cappuccino latte had a nice decoration and tasted perfect! I would come here everyday if I had the chance to! 😊

From start to finish the whole experience was 10/10!!! Appetizers, drinks, entrées were spectacular. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is adorable. Tristen our server, was amazing. Very attentive, and made wonderful suggestions. Definitely coming back next visit to Charleston and i would ask for him again!

We saw the menu and immediately knew we wanted to come here. Bonnie was an absolute gem and a fabulous server, her advice and suggestions were spot on and she was so sweet. The food was absolutely fantastic! We literally loved every bite of everything we got. The cinnamon roll was absolutely enormous and even tho we shared it, we barely made a dent. The grits + cheddar cheese were amazing. The cornmeal pancakes and fried chicken were spectacular. We very likely will come back for breakfast tomorrow.

I stopped by Millers All Day and ordered the King Street Bowl — absolutely delicious! Everything was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and felt like the ideal Charleston brunch dish. My waiter, Tristan, was awesome — super friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The vibe was fun and relaxed, and service was quick even though it was busy. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to next time I’m in town!

Fantastic breakfast. The biscuits are amazing. We would have liked to try a cinnamon roll, as some of our neighbors were enjoying them, but we were just too stuffed! Service was friendly and attentive. We were willing to take a high top so did not have to wait.

Millers All Day is a fantastic spot. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. What really made the experience great was our server, Tristen. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s rare to get service that good these days. Highly recommend stopping by

What a great, laid back spot. We did breakfast. Easy to get to on King Street in Charleston. The variety for breakfast was exceptional. An alcoholic beverage helped start the day. I deeply apologize but I cannot remember the breakfast I had. The restaurant uses QR codes. Overall, very good food and service was great. Check them out and decide for yourself.

We really enjoyed our visit to D’Allesandro’s. The pizza was fresh and made to order; the salads were fresh and delicious (not the cheap garbage bagged salads a lot of pizza places have. And honestly the pieces were very reasonable for downtown and today’s prices. The interior is an adorable nostalgic vibe and best of the all the staff was so friendly and prompt with the service. We will definitely be back. They even give kids a ball of pizza dough to play with!

Stopped in tonight for take out and wish we had taken the time to find in. The staff was really helpful and are the sweetest, kindest people I've met in a while. The interior of the place is really cool, with the pull down pizza racks at the side tables. Food was fantastic and the Drunk Hawaiian pizza is the absolute best ever!

So nice!! A little hard to find parking but don’t let that stop you!! Thin crust perfect sauce and toppings are all natural and so tasty!! I love a good genuine pizza! I will be back and I’m from Kansas City!

D’Allesandro’s! I stumbled upon this hidden gym of Downtown Charleston while on a walk. The service is incredible, they make you feel like you’re just hanging out with some friends while you’re in the store. The music they play is always vibing and never too loud. The star attraction is the Pizza. I’ve been here multiple times a week, I always ask for a pizza suggestion and they don’t have a pizza in here that isn’t award worthy! Come try this amazing local establishment today!

The plaza/store front may make it seem like it's like every other Chinese dive, but that would bea bad assumption. I'd put it in the same space as The Dragon Palace on Daniel Island. Nice sit down space with excellent wait staff. Friendly management also. Cheaper than PF Chang's and of course more authentic.

This looks like an American - Chinese restaurant. But after we tried some dishes here we found that they served authentic Chinese food 👍 if you don't like American -Chinese food, you should try this place. The space inside is limited and the speed is a little bit slow after ordering. Maybe because we went there for dinner and there were so many orders at that time. Anyways, this is a good Chinese restaurant.

We all should feel lucky as we have Red Orchids in town. Out of all the Asian fusion restaurants I have been to around Charleston, Red Orchids is definitely the one that I highly, highly recommend! The food that they serve is a combination of genuine Chinese dish with real traditional Chinese ingredients but slightly tuned into something that fits better to American’s taste. The food portion is slightly smaller than other restaurants, and price is on the higher end of Chinese restaurants, but for the quality of the food that you are getting, it is worth going to try. The atmosphere is no where like what you will be imagining in a Chinese Restaurant, Red Orchids is well decorated, with pictures dating back to the 1940s of Shanghai and other elegant decorations on the wall. Menu was with a variety of wine selections, so it is more like a place for you to enjoy Chinese fusion food than just going to a restaurant. Been there multiple times and this time I ordered Calamari Fries, Shanghai Fettuccine and Korean steak, the food was delicious, the only critique I had was the steak sauce was too sweet for me.

Usually this place gets 5 stars but tonight 1. Shrimp fry rice mushy was like grits and the shrimp tasted like boil cocktail shrimp. So disappointed. Update call the restaurant and inform the manager of quality of food. Told her I didn't want a refund or another order. She insisted on making it up so I agreed to another order in the far future. The quality of their food is usually really good.

Thanks to Red Orchids, we have found our favorite Asian food restaurant in the Charleston area. We drive 30 minutes to dine here at least twice a month or more. We are always welcomed warmly and the service is excellent. Don’t let the strip mall scene fool you…inside it’s upscale casual. Our favorite dishes are the Korean Steak, General Chicken, and the chicken fried rice. Yum! The food is consistently good every single time. Don’t miss out on their wonderful hot mustard condiment. There’s no other out there like it! Thank you Kelly, Tony, and team. Bravo!

I have been a customer of Red Orchids for many years, and have always worked through their service discrepancies just as you do with any F&B establishment- when the food is normally pretty good! However my visit on Friday 4/1/22 was the final straw. I brought in a fellow business owner that is new to town, and he ordered his dish and found a long piece of a steel pot scrubber in his food. He remained quiet, while I told him I would have them remake it just incase he wanted to try the dish later and get a true experience of the food despite this huge discrepancy. I called over the manager who was more concerned with getting the steel wire off the table than she was with remaking the dish. Next, she has the cooks to remake the dish and she brings back a bill for the full price of the entree. I asked her why would she do that, and that I knew it wasn't the standard of Tony and Kelly (owners). She responded and said she wasn't authorized to comp a $10.95 meal so she apologizes for the inconvenience and responds in a very sarcastic and condescending way. How insulting is that!!!! This guy could have ate a piece of steel metal and choked and died, or even took this photo and gave it to his attorney after already probably eating a strand of metal or two...and a $11.00 comp has to be brought to your attention? It's the absolute least you could do. Totally embarrassed, and the fact that she responded continually with such assurance and sternness made me feel that she knew Tony and Kelly would stand by her decision. That's it! No more! I've spent thousands in that place over the years and this is how you deal with metal in food? METAL!!!!! Not hair, not paper...but METAL. We even stayed an extra 20 minutes to give her some time to think about how ignorant she sounded. Her response as we walked out- "Have a good day".

Rich our handsome server was amazing! Gave us 5 star service. Was so helpful answering all of our questions as it was out first time visiting and with the amazing service, ambience and delicious food we shall definitely return soon.

We had a second brunch at The Daily. The ordering line was kinda long but we were able to save some seats. The place was pretty radiant with indoor and outdoor seating but this particular day was cold so most people opted to sit inside. We ordered : 1. Whipped feta toast made with fresh baked sourdough top with whipped feta, drizzled with local honey, chives, and cracked black pepper 2. Breakfast sandwich that was so good with bacon, egg, smoked onion jam and pimento cheese and it tasted so good. 3. Spring-ish veggies hash was perfect meal for me with romesco sauce, roasted carrots, mushroom, and bok choy, kale, and over easy egg....so so good. The food came in fair amount of time and someone made sure we had our cups of water filled and our empty plates cleared up. I really like this place and will be back to try out their coffees.

The daily has always been one of my favorites in Charleston! I went both Saturday & Sunday this weekend and got the 3 egg burrito on gluten free corn tortillas, the avocado toast on gluten free sourdough with egg and bacon, and a pumpkin Americano. Insane. The pumpkin is the best I’ve ever had- it tastes just like fall and it is sweet without being overpowering or too sweet. We were able to grab a table outside and our food came out extremely fast. Such a great spot for a casual bite to eat or coffee after a good workout or a long run downtown! Will be back again and again and again.

Definitely my go 2 place for breakfast here in Charleston! From the amazing staff at this location in CHS makes me keep coming back! From Mark the general manager and Mark the head chef to all the staff have done an amazing job with going above and beyond with the customer service they provide! The Food is amazing every time I eat here. Consistent through and through! I highly recommend coming and dining here! You won't be disappointed at all. Breakfast sandwich, BLT, chocolate chip cookie, and the avocado toast are a few of my favorite things and a must try!

We came here on a Saturday for brunch and had a little bit of a WAIT. It's a counter service restaurant and seating is kind of scarce and FCFS. If you hang out long enough, you'll get a seat. Food: We ordered the stacked avocado toast and the yogurt bowl. Both were tasty and fresh. If you're REALLY hungry, the yogurt bowl may need some accompaniment. The avocado toast had a lot going on, but it actually worked well. The yogurt wasn't overly sweet and for most it's satisfying. Service: The interaction was just with the counter service person. They were friendly and quick. Ambiance: It's a cozy space that can feel constrained but it's not a huge deal. The colors and the decoration are all pretty cool. Overall we enjoyed it here. We prefer table reservation but that's not always feasible or realistic. If you come here on a weekend, expect a little wait, but the food and the service were great. I can see us coming back again.

We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and decided to stop into The Daily because the atmosphere looked really cool and inviting. We walked a ton on our trip and finally decided to stop in for a coffee. The space itself is modern, clean, and has a great vibe that definitely draws people in. However, we were honestly shocked that two lattes came out to nineteen dollars. That just feels way too high, especially with so many other great coffee spots in the area offering similar quality drinks at more reasonable prices. We understand that everything costs more these days, but this was a bit much for what we received. The drinks were not hot enough and lacked the rosemary flavor. The competition around this place is strong and, in our opinion, more affordable without losing any of the experience or quality. This is just our honest and true feedback from two coffee lovers traveling through Charleston.

Honestly kinda disappointed in the coffee. I got the new Apple pie latte but it’s just milky with no flavor. I don’t even think they put the shot of espresso in and my coffee was barely warm. My husband got the golden milk and it’s hot and flavorful. We went during a slow time too so I’m not sure where the hiccup happened. Not worth $20 for two cups of coffee.

Great meal at Chubby Fish! This place serves incredibly high-quality food and creative dishes. I definitely recommend the caviar sliders, curry oysters, and the bone marrow with fried shrimp. The service was attentive and the atmosphere lively, making it a fun spot for a night out. The only drawback is that it gets very loud inside, so it’s not the best choice if you want a quiet dinner or are with people you don’t know that well. Overall, it’s a must-try Charleston gem for adventurous seafood lovers!

Chubby Fish is such a gem! The service was amazing—our server was both attentive and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel special. My fiancé and I visited Charleston to celebrate a very special week—my 40th birthday which my fiancé proposed to me on!—and Chubby Fish made it truly unforgettable. We dined there our first night in town and were absolutely blown away. After trying another well-reviewed restaurant the next evening and leaving feeling underwhelmed, we decided to return to Chubby Fish—and that decision turned everything around. The moment we walked in and mentioned our celebration, the staff treated us like royalty. Dani and Kate were beyond kind and attentive, making us feel like VIPs the entire evening. Every dish that came to our table was a masterpiece—fresh, innovative, and hands-down the best food we’ve ever had. And we don’t say that lightly. What really left a lasting impression was meeting the owner, James London. You could see how personally invested he is in every single dish. His passion and care are evident in every plate that leaves the kitchen. It’s rare to witness that kind of dedication, and it made the experience even more meaningful. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, buzzing with the kind of energy that tells you something special is happening here. Not much to say that hasn't already been said. Simply amazing meal. Got in line an hour prior to open on a Thursday evening. Got a seat in the first seating. Proceeded to order until the server said "thats plenty", then ordered a little more. The caviar sammiches are a requirement. The gnudi was hands down the best pasta dish I've ever had in my life. The blue crab toast was magical, all that flavor but didn't over power the delicate lump crab. The lamb ribs were cooked absolutely perfectly. And many others. Well deserved success. Cheers!

What an outstanding experience! We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs in action—such a treat. Every dish that came out was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Highlights included the oysters, crudo, summer melon with pork belly, sardine toasts (served with phenomenal bread and butter), and the bone marrow with tempura shrimp. Every bite was excellent. We ended the meal with the “Not Fried Chicken” ice cream dessert—so fun and flavorful. The service was fantastic throughout. Be sure to arrive before their 5 PM opening and be ready to line up, as they don’t take reservations. Also worth checking out: the charming little bar next door called Seahorse. A perfect spot to enjoy a drink while you wait!

Usually i would write a detailed review of a great dining experience but for Chubby Fish I want to encourage everyone to experience for themselves while sharing my thoughts on how to make it the best time. Line up around 4:30 -4:45 outside the restaurant. As most readers might already know from research they do not take reservations ahead of time. The doors open at 5pm and depending where you are in line you can sit immediately or get a reservation for later. The smaller your party the more flexibility. Ask for a 6:30 reservation even if they have space to sit immediately, you’ll want that time to start next door at their cocktail bar Sea Horse. Telling them you’ll be next door if a table opens up before your reservation time you might get to sit early for Chubby Fish. Sea Horse has a thoughtfully designed cocktail list and wonderful small bites that’s a perfect warm up for your dinner. Once seated at Chubby Fish share as many dishes you can. The team is inviting, warm and exceptional at what they do. Follow this guide and you’ll have a memorable experience.

This was single-handedly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had regardless of the hour wait. The entire staff made sure I was taken care of and recommended their favorite dishes. The sous chef even went on to explain how the dynamic of the kitchen worked. Additionally the cooks also checked in occasionally and made me feel welcome as a solo diner. Rebecca my waitress also shared her insight on dishes and made sure I felt welcome to eat there.

Wish I could leave 10 stars! One of the best restaurants in Charleston and extremely underrated. The attention to detail here is really on par with restaurants that charge twice as much. If you appreciate perfectly seasoned food and amazing sauce work this place is for you. The escargot with ramp butter was amazing as was the onion soup croquette. Entrees were stellar I got the monkfish almondine and my wife got the flounder both perfectly cooked with the right balance of richness acidity herbs and salt in the sauces. Our server Allison was great with her recommendations. She was always there when we needed her but never hovering. I’m not a dessert person but the creme caramel was exceptional. Think like the best flan you’ve ever had with a light espresso flavor. Also if you have any appreciation of good French fries do yourself a favor and get a side of the clarified butter pommes frites. We definitely will be back sooner rather than later!

This is a relatively new restaurant in the upper King St area that has become a hub for some of the more unique charleston dining experiences. Surrounded by such stalwarts as Little Jacks, Leon’s and Melfi’s, Maison fits in perfectly. This is a perfectly French bistro with a traditional bistro menu, good wine list and decent beer selection. Plenty of seating at the long bar, booths or small tables with limited additional small table seating on the patio. Decor leans toward ice cream parlor modern but lighting is good and noise levels are moderate enough for conversation. Service was very good and the dishes we sampled were all very good as well. The steak frites and flounder were both exceptional. The mousse was a perfect desert. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since the parking lot is shared by a number of neighboring businesses but there is on street parking nearby. Overall, this is a very good restaurant and we give it four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale ( five Google star equivalent).

I traveled up from Savannah for a quick trip. I was looking for something other than prototype coastal seafood or burgers. I love French food a French technique, so this place just jumped out at me (It didn’t hurt I had an appointment half a block away after dinner!). I got there right at open, and just sat at the bar. That turned out to be the best move I could have made. I had the pleasure of hanging out and having some great conversations with Evan for nearly 2 hours. I went off his recommendation of the monkfish chop. It was already on my radar, but he reaffirmed that decision. And, as I told him, it was one of the best meals I’ve had this year, and hands down the best seafood dish I’ve had this year. That is from someone who travels for a living. The only dissatisfaction I had was being there on Tuesday night and missing burger night on Wednesday. This is a place that hands down rivals ANY restaurant in the Low Country or Coastal Empire in both service and atmosphere.

What a wonderful place to celebrate! We dined at Maison the night after getting engaged because it was the location of our 2nd date and they delivered again! Great food-a phenomenal lobster special, good drinks and a terrific way to celebrate!

Lovely quaint new French cuisine. Light fare, and fresh ingredients. They do not over salt their food, the menu is clever, but uses traditional concepts. Very French wine list, so the wines are lighter than American wines. Understated and unpretentious. Service absolutely exquisite. Nice people !

Have been to Maison a couple of times now over the past few years and each time I am very impressed with the dishes. There is clearly a high level of skill and technique in their kitchen. Only have photos from my last visit which was the burger and fries, but I feel like those items exemplify what Maison does really well. You can breakdown every element and thought and care has gone in from the clarified butter that gives a subtle buttery taste to the Bordelaise sauce that is poured over a bun that can withstand it without getting soggy. Other standout dishes were a mushroom tart that I still think about and a pea dish that changed my mind on peas. This place gives good examples of modern French dishes past what is normally available at most French restaurants in the US. Also, shoutout to their bartender that gave me a cocktail spec that was a riff on the Last Word that was awesome (1:1:1:1 Bourbon, Yellow Chartreuse, Benedictine, Lemon).

We came here for a birthday celebration during our family reunion trip. The customer service was excellent, and the food was pretty tasty! The steak frites was well seasoned, the duck confit was exquisite, the roasted chicken with mushrooms was flavorful, and the monkfish was delicious. On another note, the desserts were amazing! The chocolate mousse was light and creamy, while the madeleines were the perfect texture and flavor. We highly recommend trying the two together. It was our last dinner in Charleston, and it was a great way to end trip. We can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in town!

Overall I think the food here was good but not great. There were elements of each dish that I loved though. We got the ensalada to start, and it was too overdressed for my tastes, and greens themselves too bitter, resulting in just a very acidic bitter experience. The chorizo spread was great and I loved the rolls, but just wish I got more rolls. Pulpo was amazing, but the chickpeas were just fine. I did enjoy the chorizo wrapped with squid though, that one was probably my favorite. The chorizo was flavor packed and squid was a nice contrast.

First experience for dinner on a Friday and it was awesome! The staff was great and knowledgeable. The dinner was fantastic. We got the chicken to share, juicy and delicious. The shareable we tried were also fantastic. We tried rabbit for the first time. Thank you to Justin for making this a memorable experience

Celebrated my belated birthday with my husband tonight at Malagón. This was my second time dining here, but it had been many years since my last visit, and it absolutely lived up to the new Michelin Star hype. They don’t have a full bar—beer, cider, sherry, and wine only—so if you’re craving a cocktail before dinner, I’d recommend stopping at one of the nearby spots within walking distance like we did. The restaurant itself is quite tiny, especially when the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor seating, so definitely plan ahead and make a reservation. The vibe is intimate and charming with that old-world European feel, aside from the fact that the guests are American 😉. The tapas-style menu ranges from small snacks to shareable plates, and it changes frequently, so don’t get your heart set on any one dish. We started with the white asparagus and anchovy sauce, the house bread with goat cheese topped with sopressata (think Spanish pizza). From there, we enjoyed the marinated pork steak, the red wine–braised beef cheek—which was both crispy and meltingly tender—and the crab squid ink rice. That rice was easily one of the best bites of food I’ve had all year. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t resist dessert. The Basque cheesecake, paired with a dessert wine Nolan recommended, was otherworldly. My husband, who (unlike me) rarely gets emotional about food, literally closed his eyes and went silent mid-bite. It was that good—one of the best desserts either of us have ever had. Yes, dining in Charleston is expensive these days, but when it’s an experience like this, every penny feels justified.

I finally came back here after a year before they received a Michelin star and the food does not disappoint. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the ambiance is always inviting. We brought in some of our own wines and they kindly poured it for us course by course. We enjoyed some light meats and cheeses, then some perfectly cooked duck and beef roast that was fork tender. And to end it on a sweet note, we had the infamous basque cheesecake which was perfect. It was a great time with friends, food and wine. 🍷

The culinary creativity of this establishment is as competitive as any restaurant I’ve eaten at in the United States. The flavor and the complexity, combined with varied texture’s on the palate makes for a very impressive menu. Tasted 8 items loved them all as simple as prosciutto wrapped dates with Allmond spectacular, gonna steal the recipe.:) Best cheesecake you will ever eat. The wrinkled potatoes. Wow

This was my first Michelin-star dining experience, so I arrived genuinely excited. The atmosphere was warm and intimate with dim lighting, and the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the anticipation. While nothing was poorly prepared, several dishes felt like they were missing a bit of refinement or uniqueness. For Malagón's reputation, I expected flavors or presentations that stood out, but most plates landed somewhere between good and forgettable. The standout of the evening was the marinated lamb—perfectly cooked with a great char and depth of flavor. Beyond that, the rest of the meal didn’t leave much of an impression. Overall, it was a pleasant evening, but not a memorable one. I’m glad I tried it, but next time I think I’ll explore other options.

This is a super cute rooftop bar. The drinks were delicious, the bartenders were friendly, the outside rooftop is absolutely beautiful and has so many plants and lime trees as well as an amazing view! For sure a place to go.

Great roof top bar and tapas place in charlston. We didnt get any food but the drinks were great and they had a decent amount of options. The bar has about a 220 degree view of south charlston and has some very comfortable seating. You need to check in at the lobby and get an elevator pass. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend if your looking for a more upscale rooftop bar.

Ordered the tennis anyone cocktail and ceviche tacos - both were fantastic. That said, I ordered the ceviche tacos for lunch - they were under the shareable section of the menu. I was thinking there would be 2 normal size tacos. When they arrived I nearly spit my drink across the table because I was laughing so hard. There were 3 teeny tiny tacos. Delicious tacos but think a heads up that they are baby tacos would have been useful. Left with my stomach empty but heart full thanks to the view and delicious cocktail.

The Dewberry Charleston's rooftop Citrus Club is stunning, and I am totally obsessed with this place. I recently visited with my boyfriend + some friends of ours while in Charleston, SC and we had the absolute best experience!! Our waitress was so sweet - she was attentive, kind, and took excellent care of us during our visit. The atmosphere inside of the Citrus Club is so chic and luxurious, but their outdoor rooftop space is the reason you must visit. There are perfect views of Charleston's incredible architecture from every single angle of their rooftop (as pictured in this review). You are at the best spot in the house, regardless of where your table is located. For cocktails, I highly recommend their Spicy Margarita. Regarding their food menu, their Grilled Seasonal Vegetables and Hamachi Tataki are both excellent! :-) We will be back, Citrus Club - thanks for the hospitality!

Came here because it was close to our hotel and we wanted to check out a rooftop bar before going to dinner on Kings street. This bar the rooftop of the Dewberry hotel. The decor is chic and airy pastel. Compared to other rooftops closer to the waterfront, the view is unobstructed and doesn't have much you are looking out to, but you do get a nice breeze which was welcomed when it was 80 degrees out. They serve seasonal cocktails. We ordered the Pineapple Jerk Old Fashion which had a little heat to it, and the "Tennis Anyone?" made with lime vodka and salted honeydew. For food we wanted to stay on the lighter side and ordered the Wood Roasted Mushrooms and the Masala chicken wings. The mushrooms were just okay. They were served like a tartare which you eat with a lettuce cup. The masala chicken wings were tasty and well seasoned. Nice spot for a drink when the weather is nice and you want to get away from the touristy downtown scene. Drinks are on the pricier side compared to other Charleston spots.

Beautiful rooftop. We waited in the hotel lobby bar, which was also lovely. Drinks were slightly overpriced in our opinion. I think we got the short straw regarding seating because the couch and the wicker chairs were quite uncomfortable.

As far as a rooftop views go, this is definitely one of the best in the area. I'm not sure there's a bad seat in the entire area. The food and the drinks looked amazing, but they were average. The brussel sprouts were very good but it was almost too much food (for an appetizer) for just two people. And the hummus was good but we didn't light the grilled vegetables along with it. So many great photo ops! There also was a variety of seating arrangements to please about any amount of people/parties. I think if the drinks were better we might have had more than one. But I can't say enough about how amazing the view was!

I felt like a princess here! The staff was attentive and cheerful. The room is gorgeous with lush pink velvet, metallic wallpaper, and a grand crystal chandelier. You're allowed as many or as few teas as you'd like to try during your reservation. My only flaw was that the savory foods were blah. A couple bites of dry sandwich with little flavor. The sweet treats were good besides the pistachio frosting. I recommend the pink biodiversity tea if you like a caffeine-free, berry option. Overall a cute experience but slightly overpriced for the quality of food served.

This is by far the best tea room I have ever visited and I have been to many. The hotel is gorgeous and the tea room, while small, is beautifully decorated. We made a reservation for five people several months in advance as we were visiting the area on vacation. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and explained all the teas and foods served. You can try as many tea flavors as you want. The Mad Hatter and Relaxing teas were my favorites. The tea sandwiches had a great variety and were also tasty. The pimento and roast beef was especially good. All the desserts were excellent, but the raspberry tart and chocolate cake really stood out. The décor is gorgeous shades of pink and the overhead chandelier is magnificent. While afternoon tea is expensive, the food, service, ambiance and entire experience is worth it. The dress code is "elegant." There are several parking garages within walking distance, or the hotel offers valet service. If you are in Charleston, this is a must!

Beautiful atmosphere and staff was wonderful! Tea selection was really good, wish there was some more descriptions on some of the teas to know what you were getting. The ginger yuzu smelled like a sweaty sock and didn’t taste like much. Loved the Pink tea the best!

Loved the late afternoon tea at Camillas - it was one of the last stops on the long girl's weekend trip. The atmosphere was so special, the decor just smashingly beautiful, and the food (tea cakes, sandwiches, tea) and the champagne was superb. We booked the Crown Tea and had pink champagne!

This is a cute spot for a drink with the girls, and cute instagram photo, or to kick off a bachelorette party. Although it is tucked inside the left side of the lobby of the Hotel Bennett, the decor is very different from rest of the hotel. It is still luxurious, but it is very pink, from the velvet chairs to the ceiling that is adorned with a glamorous crystal chandelier. We order the rosé champagne flight with three different champagnes. The pours. were generous, but it is not a cheap order (close to $175) for three glasses of champagne. We anticipated that going in, but be aware, if you are someone that doesn't appreciate champagne.

I felt like such a princess coming here during my bachelorette night out! Daniela served us and made us feel very special. The drinks were tasty and the atmosphere was lovely. Definitely a splurge for me, but one that was worth it!

I seriously can’t say enough good things about this place!!! It’s my go-to spot whenever I want to fuel my body and feel my best. The staff is amazing and so sweet, and everything is always fresh with the best quality ingredients and they have options for everyone. Some of my favorite orders are the Baja Bowl with curry chicken, the turkey bacon, and the goddess salad. I’m addicted to their chickpea brownies and protein balls (especially the carrot cake one). And don’t even get me started on their shaken espresso with date syrup it’s unreal. Anywho I could go on and on but seriously if you haven’t been here yet, what are you doinnn?!

Had the muscadine matcha with vanilla cold foam and cashew milk. I thought it was super impressive. I have very high quality matcha that I drink on a regular basis at home so I’m pretty picky about going out for matcha. This one did not disappoint. 10/10 & really nice staff :)

Their seasonal drinks are always so good without being too sweet. I love to get the avocado toast with fried egg or the buddha bowl. 10/10 recommend!

It's always fun to try new places and this one was highly recommended by friends. From friendly staff to a wide ranging menu, I was impressed and delighted when our meals arrived. The flavors of the Buddha bowl were fabulous. I'm looking forward to getting back to try some of their other offerings.

Huriyali is the definition of feel-good food without compromising on flavor. Highly, highly recommend!

I can confidently say that Maya is the best dining experience I have ever had! We made a reservation and mentioned it was for a bachelorette trip and the staff at Maya created an entire EXPERIENCE. We had customized menus, the table was decorated, and we even got complimentary shots and dessert. Not to mention, the food was INCREDIBLE! I had the garlic chicken enchiladas and I have been dreaming about them ever since. The best part of the dining experience was by far our waiter, Tyler. He was very attentive to any dietary restrictions/allergies we had, made amazing recommendations, and overall went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience. This man deserves a raise and a promotion!! Overall, this restaurant is a MUST GO if you’re in the Charleston area.

Best mexican food we’ve ever had. We got the Maya burrito and the crunch wrap which were both amazing! Our drinks were really good and pretty cheap for Charleston. Our server Libby (I think) was amazing and brought out a slice of cake on the house for my birthday. The atmosphere was that of fine dining but the prices were fair. It was overall an amazing experience and we will 100% be back.

A spacious, upscale, Mexican food restaurant in a busy touristy part of downtown. There is a dining room and partially covered patio, with a nice seating nook near the traditional outside wood stove. The food we picked was aimed to try their point of taste on fresh local seafood. And it was definitely fresh and fool of flavor. My cocktail was refreshing and balanced. Special thanks to the chef who came to welcome us. Servise was attentive and quick. Clean and neat dining rooms and the bathroom. The only hiccups were the choice of initial sitting: on a hot afternoon, in the patio's sunniest spot. Were were dressed up for the dinner and would be more comfortable in the air-conditioned setting. When I asked for another table (the patio was empty and so the air-conditioned dining room) my request was accommodated right away to the table under the patio's roof, at least. Unfortunately, the table was wobbling on its legs, which was quiet annoying, a second hiccup. There were no extra napkins for a quick fix. We choose not to bring it up and watch staff's reaction. They seems to be not paying attention or not being bothered enough to fix it for us. The third hiccup was the limited choice of fresh seafood dishes. I understand the main focus on Mexican/Latino cuisine, but, surely, there is wealth of traditional recipes to celebrate the abundance of local catch.

Gave this a try for happy hour and specifically wanted the patio. It was very nice and relaxing. The mango-Chile margaritas were wonderful! Loved the popcorn…excellent queso…and the brisket tacos were superb! The black beans were very flavorful and a really big portion as a side, definitely enough for two. Would definitely come back and try more!

We had an amazing dining experience on our anniversary! We were totally surprised by the welcome from the host with a personalized greeting card signed by many staff. The place has got a beautiful ambience, spacious yet cozy feel, food was delicious, and the service was great! To add to our surprise, our lovely server brought us a complementary entree to make the evening feel even more special. Highly recommended!!

Ordered the Brussels sprouts, double smash burger and crunch wrap. Brussel sprouts were incredible! So much flavor and lots of crunch I highly recommend you get these. The burger was hearty and a pleasant surprise from a Mexican place. Lots of sauce and flavor. The crunch wrap was tasty but needed a better sauce. Fun spin off of a Taco Bell favorite. Margaritas were also good and strong. Good date night option for a local. If your looking for a true foodie experience there are better option in Charleston but be prepared to pay for it. This place is reasonably priced

I was blown away by my dining experience here. They have amazing cocktails the Pineapple Ginger Margarita was so good. And I love all the authentic dishes. I have to say that the Esquites was phenomenal and the Enchiladas! Also, on Friday night the Chef is on the patio cooking. I loved seeing him in action. Their indoor and outdoor space is phenomenal. On our way out of Charleston, our group stopped in for breakfast. I got the avocado toast and my husband got the quiche. I really enjoyed my dish. The peanuts and spicy sauce made it feel a little extra. I also got a cold brew and it was delicious. My husband didn’t like his dish as much. He said it was a little bland and the salad that came with it was dry. Overall I loved the atmosphere and it was a good place to stop on our way out.

This Cafe is cool. I know thats such a short, overused descriptor but I can't think of any other place in Charleston that has this vibe. I feel like I am in a college town rom-com. Every quirky detail carefully considered and artfully placed. Even the baristas had the very Gen Z lack of care that felt almost too sterotypical to be real. The food was fantastic and presentation was beautiful. I arrived late in the day for breakfast so I missed out on using the "real" mugs but the use of dishes, mugs, and silverware that could've come out of my grandma's kitchen was a special touch. The drip coffee was okay but their latte was heavenly. Highly recommend the specialty drinks over the standard cup. Will be back! Happy to have found this gem not far from my office 🤩

We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and stopped at Harbinger Café this morning, and they absolutely crushed it. The lattes were so good!!!!!! I got the honey latte and my wife had the maple, and both were delicious and perfectly made. The quiche was out of this world. I tried a bite from my wife’s plate and was blown away by how flavorful and fluffy it was. She could not stop smiling the entire time we sat inside enjoying breakfast and our coffees. The granola bowl was another standout with fresh apples, berries, and fruit that made every bite so tasty and refreshing. The café itself is beautiful, warm, and cozy, and it actually goes back farther than you’d expect with plenty of comfortable seating. Everything about this place felt thoughtful and relaxed, and it was the perfect way to start our day in Charleston.
