Baguette Magic Folly Rd is a vibrant French bakery that offers a variety of traditional breads, sandwiches, pastries, and salads. The bakery, owned by Mathieu Richards, prides itself on its authentic artisanal baked goods such as baguettes and croissants. After a pause in baking operations during the pandemic, sisters Paula and Samantha Kramer have resumed their bread program at this location.
Stopped in on way out of town from vacation. Soo glad we did. Selection is great and the food was phenomenal. Large portions and fresh. We like that they ate part of SC agriculture proud! We love supporting local and thankful we stopped here

Great customer service. The young lady at the counter was informative and personable. The other employees were friendly as well. Ordered an iced latte with almond milk and brown sugar cinnamon syrup. It was tasty. Second State coffee is used. Syrups are made in-house. Also ordered the BEC (bacon, egg, & cheese) on a baguette. Unfortunately, there was a hair in it so I had to drive back and get a new one. Cashier was apologetic, but they lose stars for that. Home fries are chunks of potatoes that are fried very nicely. I’d get those again. They sell various local items, such as teas, jerky, meats, & grits. There are some grab and go things in a freezer — pasta & sauce, take-and-bake biscuits, pasta, & pies, gluten-free bread & buns, and more. Plenty of indoor seating.

I highly recommend Baguette Magic! I stopped by for a my favorite almond croissant while on the way to the beach today! I ordered the turkey sandwich and it was amazing!!! The flavors explode with each bite! The staff was helpful and the service was prompt! There are lots of items to take home too!! Turkey sandwich, almond croissant!! Win- win!!

We recently visited Baguette Magic for breakfast and tried a few dishes: the Chef’s Hash, the Bep Sandwich on a croissant, and the Avocado Toast. The standout was definitely the Bep Sandwich on the croissant—absolutely to die for! The croissant was perfectly flaky, and the combination of flavors was spot on. It’s a must-try if you visit. The Avocado Toast came in second. It was super fresh and well-seasoned, with the avocado spread just right. The radish was a great touch. The Chef’s Hash was our least favorite. While it was decent, it didn’t quite stand out compared to the other two dishes. Overall, Baguette Magic offers a solid breakfast, and the Bep Sandwich stealing the show.

I love Baguette Magic! It's a great breakfast/brunch spot with friendly staff and delicious food. I always get the avocado toast or the BEC on a croissant. It's a great local business that I recommend to everyone!

Baguette Magic, aka as Magical Baguette, by my local friends, showing me around James Island - is really fantastic bakery right at Folly Beach, South Carolina. Everything is freshly baked and tastes incredible! We got several pastries because we couldn't decide and so we could try a bite of all of them! We absolutely loved them! All were very tasty and delicious. Baguette Magic has a great atmosphere and friendly staff, I will definitely go back again! Thanks for everything!

Its a neat place with welcoming staff and delicious food. The menu is simple and filling. My cup of Joe was strong and flavorful. Clean. Quick. Tasty. Reasonably priced. Offers premade frozen dinners. And even community engaging. What not to love, if you like baguettes, of course.

Bakery
Cupcake shop
Nestled in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina, Sugar Bakeshop is a charming and cozy bakery that has been delighting locals and visitors since 2007. The bakery's quaint beige, white, and Robin's egg blue exterior stands out among the surrounding residential buildings and businesses on Cannon Street. Known for its community-oriented approach, Sugar Bakeshop prioritizes sourcing ingredients locally, including farm-fresh eggs and herbs from an on-site garden plot.
Listen, I am a SUCKER for a good cupcake, and boy, was this place it! They had a ton of flavor options, gluten-free options, dog treats, brownies, and more! They were so moist, and we loved it so much we went twice while we were here! My dog absolutely loved their dog treats, and they are all natural as well. The staff was so friendly, and I want to say she was the owner, was an absolute sweetheart! Will be coming back every trip to Charleston that we make!

Cookies get 4-5 stars. Cupcakes get 2 stars. The cake portion of the cupcakes lacked moisture...very dry overall. Icing was overly sweet on each. We visited on Monday morning shortly after they opened. They are closed on Sundays. The cakes just seemed too dry to have been baked that morning as they have claimed their responses to other reviews. If they were indeed baked that morning, then maybe overcooked??? Regardless, flavors need improvement. We tried 4 separate cupcake flavors. The vanilla blueberry was bland. The only thing that tasted anything remotely of blueberry on that cupcake were the actual blueberries on top. They sadly were the best part of that cupcake. The chocolate cake cupcake with vanilla icing tasted minimally of chocolate and lacked so much flavor. I just expected a deep, rich chocolate flavor, but it was just bland and dry. The lemon curd and carrot cake cupcakes had better flavors overall, but the icing was just overly sweet and cakes still dry overall. The cupcakes were pretty but just were not worth $4 each, and we overall expected much better for the price. The cookies were chewy and much better overall than the cupcakes. We had a ginger molasses cookie and an oatmeal raisin cookie. There could have been much more ginger in the ginger molasses, but it was still overall a decent cookie. The cookies were large in size and seemed to actually be worth their cost. The person who helped us seemed very pleasant. The store was clean. But, I'd rather spend my money on better desserts elsewhere.

WOW… love this small cute bakery on a side street of downtown Charleston!!! I did a Google search and found Sugar Bakery had very good reviews.. I had a custom mini wedding cake made for my son’s weddings in Kiawah Island. I ordered a confetti cake with strawberry jam filling with white frosting & I decorated the rest with a figurine & flowers. The cake was absolutely delicious! We also bought a dozen cupcakes , trying seasonal flavors, classics , and a few gluten free. They did not disappoint , the lavender was probably a favorite! Next time I visit Charleston I will be sure to go back !

Cute little bakery. Purchased a few cupcakes to try. Never heard of a hummingbird cake, supposed to have banana, walnut and pineapple, but I think I got a unmixed one, or maybe it's all blended because I don't think I had any of those pieces. Frosting was nice though. Also purchased a Lime curd, Lemon curd, and pinata surprise. Lime and Lemon were very tart, which would've been alright by itself but the frosting was soo sweet. I guess it's to try to balance them out, but it feels more like it's just overwhelming. Pinata surprise was just a cake with sprinkles, but the frosting was good. Also got a blueberry muffin and a Pecan Chewy. Blueberry was nice, bit more moist than the cupcakes it felt like. But the chewy really good. Would recommend.

The cookies were amazing. Crunchy outside but soft and chewy inside. So good! Gluten free choc chip cookie definitely didn’t taste GF. The double chocolate also great but pretty decadent as expected

This place has the Charleston Sweet Charm. I like to go on our way to the aquarium for a special kid treat. They also have delicious coffee. We love their cookies and cupcakes! It is so quaint and sweet. They are so thoughtful, they have a great selection of candles for birthday cakes. The staff are knowledgeable and take humble pride in their work. I have been here a few times and always enjoy the experience. We will be back and I recommend you give them a try.

DELICIOUS CAKES!! We had three Sugar Bakeshop cakes at our wedding: the double chocolate, vanilla blueberry, and raspberry lemon. Our guests were raving about the cakes with many even going for seconds. Placing an advance order and day-of pick up was incredibly easy. Thank you!!

Went to Charleston for moms birthday. After reading reviews I decided to try Sugar. I was not disappointed. This shop gets 4 stars on the smell alone. The cake was so delicious I even froze the leftovers. Couldn’t bear to waste it. Super friendly staff. Worth every penny.

WildFlour Pastry in Charleston is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. Their sticky buns are particularly popular, but the tempting array of other pastries and sweets is equally irresistible. Renowned for their delectable wedding cakes, WildFlour Pastry's head chef Lauren Mitterer has established herself as one of the city's leading pastry chefs.
Honestly cannot say enough good things about the sweets and savories here. Even the frozen items are delicious and better than pre-made meals I’ve gotten elsewhere. The quiches are creative and the crust is perfect. Not your standard sweets either. Decent cup of coffee too. Highly recommend.
The H — Google review
WildFlour is a cute, small bakery. It has a little bit of seating. Pastries look good and fresh. We can only report on the one thing we had - the mini coconut cream pie. They clearly used good ingredients, and the pie was very light and tasty. The cream was really nice and fluffy and not too sweet. The custard was also good, but there was not enough. The crust was good and had a bit of salt, which was a nice contrast to the sweetness of the rest of it. The only improvement we could offer is to balance the custard and cream better. The cream really overwhelmed the custard and, as a result, the coconut flavor wasn't there as much as one wants when ordering coconut cream pie.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The BEST chocolate croissants ever. Totally worth the trip just for them alone. Everything else is equally amazing. Always clean with friendly service. They made our wedding cake 💍 11 years ago and they've had our hearts ever since ❤️. Highly recommend. Our top two favorites are probably the 🥐 chocolate croissant & their Key Lime pies🍋 🤤🤤 Always finding an excuse to be in the area haha

Best and biggest croissant I have ever had. Excellent prices for quality. Absoluetly lovely place, you've gotta come in! It doesn't look like much from the outside - but that's how the best things in life are!

Drive past all the time and never stop by. I'm glad I finally stopped. Parking is easy! Great breakfast/brunch stop. On the go, or if you want to sit and enjoy your coffee and food. Have an assortment of coffee, breakfast food, desserts, fresh cakes, and pies. The service was great and will be back soon to try something different. It's probably the best bakery in Charleston!

I was able to pick up a few cupcakes & Oreo cheesecake for my husband's birthday. They were honestly the BEST cupcakes I think I've ever had. I LOVED the carrot cake cupcake. I could have liked the box. I was also able to grab some candles for him too (talk about waiting till the last minute). The lady working there was so helpful and kind. I certainly will be back for all my pastry needs! So glad I found this gem! -@tastetravelz

Brown's Court Bakery is a charming bi-level cafe that offers a wide variety of freshly baked goods and coffee. The bakery supplies an impressive list of restaurants with different types of bread, including brioche braids, baguettes, and hoagie rolls. Visitors can order online to stock up on their favorite bread and pastries. The bakery is located in a residential street near the Upper King Street district, making it a perfect spot to grab a quick treat and coffee.
Came right when they opened on a Saturday. Everyone was really friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and it's great to be able to see the people in the back making the baked goods. Iced latte was good and I got an assortment of pastries (croissants, danishes, muffins) and everything was absolutely delicious! It's a bit pricey but good pastries always are since it's so hard to actually get them right We will certainly be back!
Ariana M — Google review
Wonderful food! Our Airbnb was directly across from this great bakery so we came by twice during our stay. Get there early! Choices were dwindling by 10am. The food was so good but it was cold. We took it back to warm it up. That’s a consequence of the plague and outdoor service so I get it, just be prepared.
Hazel S — Google review
This will definitely be my daily go-to breakfast spot for the week I'm spending in Charleston! The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was amazing, at least in part because of the delicious roll that it's served on. You just have to get there early because they often sell out. I also love that they offer oat milk as a dairy alternative in their coffee drinks. For those who haven't tried it, it's considerably better than almond milk. The chocolate macaroon was also amazing!
David S — Google review
For breakfast this morning we had a blueberry muffin, egg and cheese biscuit, and cinnamon roll with coffees. The decaf had to be a latte, but it was delicious. We ordered from the side of the building where they are doing counter service only. They had a lot of offerings for being counter service only. They were also super quick! Awesome little gem in the residential district of downtown.
Rachael E — Google review
I travel to CHS often, and I never miss an opportunity to visit Browns. The line is worth it! The bagel bombs will make you rethink your life. The croissants are buttery yummy goodness to the last bite. The drinks are worth the wait and put everyone else to shame. Oh Browns, I LOVE you.
Amber R — Google review
Seriously delicious baked goods!! Just try anything on the menu and make sure you get there early since they sell out fast. I got some flaky baked items with berries and the other one with chocolate. Nothing is overwhelmingly sweet, perfect balance.
Din N — Google review
Everything they make is great. Ordered the yule log off the holiday menu and its the best cake I have had in my entire life. It was so beautiful. The meringue mushrooms were so cute and delicious. The frosting was chocolate but not too sweet and the filling was a light vanilla cream. Absolutely delicious.
Taylor H — Google review
This is the best croissant that I've had in a long while. The danishes looked fantastic, but I wanted to try a classic pastry and they blew it away. Just wow. It was so buttery, flakey, and perfectly cooked. Some of them looked a little over-proofed, but I certainly don't care. They tasted 10/10 regardless.

Bakehouse Charleston is a charming bakery located in the historic district of Charleston. It offers a variety of sweet and savory baked goods, including cakes, cookies, tarts, and brownies. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated, providing a cozy atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy their treats.
If you’re wanting a sweet treat this is definitely the spot! I recommend the s’mores bar and asking for it to be warmed up. The key lime pie is also delicious!! Staff was so friendly and personable. A very laid back coffee shop compared to the hustle and bustle of down town Charleston!! This will definitely be a regular spot for us on our trips here!
BRIANNA C — Google review
The tall gentleman who brought hot chocolate to us, was very nice and friendly. I’m sorry to leave a mess for you to clean. 🙏 The paper cup is the softest, most wobbly paper cup, the card board ring is way too loose to stay in place. When I grabbed my drink, the paper bent, hot chocolate spilled out onto me, I had to rush off back to my hotel to shower and change. Not to mention the mild burn 🔥 To the owner: you shouldn’t cut corners in these cheap, soft paper cups. I’m sure I’m not the first one this accident has happened to. Really messed up our plan for the day.
Yun Z — Google review
First and definitely LAST visit. Staff barely smiled. Seats are all worn out. I ordered a biscuit, hot chocolate and cappuccino. Drinks were hot… that was the best part of it. I unfortunately discovered that all sandwiches are premade and just warmed up in the microwave….big, HUGE disappointment! Don’t recommend this place to anyone at all! If I was given the option, I would give a negative star to this place 😐

Looking for a cozy and quiet bakery? baked house is your place. { 5🌟} I went June 11, 2025 and it was incredible. The vibe of the little bakery was so refreshing and it was quiet which was perfect to edit some photos and relax after a hot day. I ordered the biscuit and the funfetti cookie both were really yummy. I loved the softness and it was THE perfect cookie. The staff were super cool and very sweet the lady with black hair complimented my LPS purse was incredible sweet. The environment was really nice, tables were clean, food was scrumptious and it was a 10/10 will definitely be back soon. Props to the staff again they were lovely!! I unfortunately did not get their names

Ordered a latte and a cap. They have a good machine (La Marzocco), but both of our drinks were steamed way to hot, machine may be over tuned, but it was not drinkable for over 20 min. I burned my tongue badly. The milk was clearly over steamed as it did not create any volume in the espresso, it was thin. Pastry was great.
Jacob W — Google review
Ordered iced mocha, tasted like watery chocolate milk. My husband and I are not “coffee snobs” but we both had a sip of the drink and agreed it was not good. Positives are the convenient location and nice barista.

Bubbie's Cookies & Treats, also known as King Street Cookies, is a charming old-fashioned cookie shop in Charleston that offers a wide range of creative flavor combinations and seasonal sweets. From the lively Cotton Candy Pink to the timeless Double Chocolate Chunk, there's a broad spectrum of gourmet cookies available year-round and seasonally. Visitors rave about the amazing cookies and friendly staff at this local family-run business. It's definitely worth multiple visits to try all the delicious treats on offer.
If you’re in Charleston, SC, Bubbie’s Cookies & Treats is an absolute must-stop! 🍪✨ The cookies are beyond delicious – soft, fresh, and bursting with heavenly flavor in every bite. Truly the best cookies we’ve ever had! You can taste the love and care in every cookie. 🍪 🤩 Highly recommend!
Carmen O — Google review
These are the best cookies I have ever had. They are fat & gooey in the middle yet thin and crispy on the outside. My favorites are the house (oatmeal pecan chocolate chip), “samoa”, Mexican dark chocolate, and praline. The sweet tea tasted like it was full of crushed black leaf tea, the bourbon cookies truly kick you with a warm alcohol finish and the fruit cookies are very well balanced, fruity but not too loud or fake flavor tasting. If you need a drink on King stop here too. They have the largest collection of Dr. pepper & Mt Dee cans I have ever seen, 1$ local coffee, or cold skim, whole & chocolate milk to go with your cookies. So far there is only one staff member running the place each time I have dropped in, yet they are always very kind, open and charismatic. This place is high quality & good vibes.

Great cookies- over 100 kinds. Wonderful coffee - $1.00 cup - a real bargain. Nice owner with a cute dog.

Amazing place!! Super friendly owner! We stopped by a few times and as we keep kosher the store was so nice to make a few unique items. Fresh bagels!! Pizza!! It was a truly a treat and my kids loved it. If you’re in Charleston this is a must stop!!

The chairs by the window. That’s the move, to eat your treats sitting down like royalty because the people watching is amazing. It’s like live reality TV. The ice cream is spectacular. All the flavors. The cookies aren’t bad either and if you do both together… well that’s called Nirvana, Taylor. Oh, they’re dog friendly too. The owner and staff are kind, accommodating and sincere. A must every time I come back.
Yür M — Google review
Ok...I love me a good cookie. And I try about every cookie place I can find. We stumbled upon King Street Cookies...walked in....we were the only people in there yet two workers said nothing. I walked up and back down the counter of cookies to browse what I was going to pick from. I ended up with ... I believe 7 different cookies. I believe it was a chocolate chip with pecans was the first one I broke a piece off of. Wasn't bad. But as I continued to try the other ones, they all seemed dry. The cookies did not have a gooey soft consistency. They just kind of tasted old and dry. They did have a milk machine...which I thought was super awesome. But you would have had to buy milk just to moisten the cookies. Definitely not my favorite. I would pass that cookie shop up between the staff being rude and the cookies just being below average....I would just walk on by...

Delicious cookies! Soft, flavorful, so many unique options. I had orange creamsicle and strawberry lemonade cookies with strawberry ice cream as a sandwich. We also ordered a sandwich with m&m sugar cookies and salted caramel ice cream. Worth a stop here! They had some gluten free cookie options too which was a nice surprise.

I went there in the middle of the day, and the sign said they were open, but the door was locked with no explanation as to why, with no people inside, either. I double-checked the hours just in case, and like I thought, they should have been open. There was also a slip stuck to the door for a missed package delivery, which loocked very unprofessional. As a jew myself, I expected more from a Jewish business.

Nestled in the charming streets of Charleston, Macaroon Boutique is a delightful slice of France that transports you straight to Paris. Founded by Fabrice Rizzo, who has an impressive background in pastry from New York City and Florida, this bakery opened its doors in 2010. While their namesake macaroons are a must-try—especially the raspberry flavor that beautifully reflects Charleston's vibrant spirit—the menu offers much more than just these sweet treats.
Best macaroons, even beating Disney! Go if you have a chance, their hours are limited, so snag some of you have a chance. Good wine, too, especially if you're staying in a hotel nearby! The best picture I could snap was one of the last macaroons before it was eaten!!!!

We HAVE to stop in this place every time we are in Charleston. The owner is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about food and wine and we are never disappointed with his recommendations. As great as the croissants are, the chocolate sea salt cookies are amazing too. He also just started offering these little molten chocolate bell-shaped cakes that I wish I had bought all he had. Wonderful place and we can't wait to go back!

Best croissants in the South! Plain, chocolate, or delicious almond filled. Flaky and buttery, just perfect. Obviously great macaroons, everything is hand made fresh on location, nothing frozen. Also they have an eclectic selection of hard to find French wines for sale. Don't miss the Macaroon Boutique on your trip to Charleston

I smelled Macaroon Boutique about 7 years ago as I walked down King Street and it has been my favorite place to get a treat in Charleston ever since. The couple who owns the shop are lovely - when I was in college, they would send me home with extra croissants and always greeted me with a smile. After I moved away, they would still remember me when I came home to visit. More importantly: these are the best croissants and the BEST raspberry macaroons I have ever had in my life. If you're looking for a place to go and lounge around and have people wait on you - this isn't your spot. But if you're looking for amazing french treats then look no further.

The sweet gentleman who owns the shop saved my wedding day!! We had a macaroon disaster from another place and the owner here gave me his orders and made more just to help! We had the cutest and tastiest pink and white macaroons we used as are escort cards with our guests names on them. They were such a hit! Everyone wanted more macaroons! I will never go to another macaroon boutique ever, best in Charleston.

My absolute favorite place to go for maccaroons in SC and GA! The mango maccaroon was fabulous! However the chocolate almond croissant was incredible! It is one of the best pastries I've ever had!! The shop was charming and I love the authentic French feel it has. It doesn't feel like just another American bakery. The owner was so friendly and takes pride in his creations! This is a must stop in Charleston!

Awesome Croissants and great Macaroons. The croissant is not like your typical croissant, with that being said it is amazing! Expect something different and be amazed. Had a great conversation with the owner, he was very friendly. Will be back next time we are in Charleston!

A friend and I were visiting Charleston for YALLfest and saw Macaroon that day, but didn't have time to stop in. The next day was a Sunday, and we wanted to be up and around early. Most places didn't open for Brunch until 10 or 11am. We hoped Macaroon would be open for some pastries. They weren't- but the owner let us in anyway! He was so kind to us. The Macaroon's were very good, and I loved my chocolate croissant.

La Pâtisserie, nestled in the Hotel Bennett of Charleston, is a charming French-style café that exudes European elegance. Run by renowned pastry chef Mr. Remy Funfrock, this marble-clad establishment offers an array of delights such as cafe au lait, eclairs, and custom espressos. The menu includes freshly-brewed coffee, artisanal sandwiches, decadent pastries and desserts.
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Cute store, very upscale. The food and drink were pricey, but 100% worth it! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our order was made quickly and correctly. The drinks were tasty. The desserts were amazing! 10 out of 10 recommend - at least once on your visit!

Beautiful French pastries!! It's also pet friendly. I've been here twice already and will visit again. I love the atmosphere and decorations. Pretty French pastry shop!

Don’t get fooled. That bakery has nothing French except the name. Quality is horrible. Even frozen pastries taste better. $20 for 2 pastries is a ripoff. The pastries and the pastry shop look good. But that’s all you will get for your money. Extremely disappointed.

La Pâtisserie connected to Hotel Bennett is a must stop if you enjoy coffee and pastries! I tried the Frangipane and Camille’s dessert. Both were delicious!

You will think you have stepped into Paris. We enjoyed a croissant and coffee here each morning, as well as returning later in the day for dessert. Service, pastries, and ambiance were impeccable. A solid 5 out of 5 stars.

The Ruby cake was everyone’s favorite of the 3 items we purchased. The chocolate and raspberry flavor were nicely paired. All desserts were light and airy. The macarons on the Camellias cake were the best part of that dessert. Nothing remarkable to make me return, but happy I visited.

We had a wonderful breakfasts at La Patisserie during our vacation. Their sandwiches and croissants were incredibly fresh, and the staff was very attentive with quick service. The interior design is lovely, but the sweetest detail is that they take photos of visiting dogs and display them in an album — such a charming touch! Once again, they delighted our taste buda.

The EVO Craft Bakery is a bakery in North Charleston, SC that offers delicious treats for Rock & Roll fans. The bakery features cookies and pastries made with ingredients like almond flour and hazelnut oil, which are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Lamb Of God and Megadeath were both treated to the bakery's amazing cookies last night, and we recommend checking it out if you're in the area!
Best tasting and freshest croissants we have ever had! Their goat cheese & rosemary scone is my favorite! Baked goods are hand made several times a day, and several fresh croissant varieties including chocolate, butter, & arugula & provolone. Their coffee is fantastic without being too strong or bitter. We will be back!
Melissa A — Google review
Came at 7:15 when they opened and all the pastries were cold, so they were at least baked the night before. More importantly they taste as bad as they look. Worst than grocery store. The dough was not laminated at all and thick and heavy and flavorless.
Ekin S — Google review
I had one of the most disappointing experiences at a bakery. I requested two croissants, while several dozen were freshly baked just a few feet from the cashier — we even saw them being taken out of the oven. The cashier's response was shocking: “I only have one on display; the rest are for tomorrow.” This response left both my wife and me frustrated. It's a poor attitude toward customer service. It's hard to understand why fresh products wouldn't be offered to paying customers on the same day they are baked. Management really needs to address this mentality, either by providing better training or rethinking staffing. A bakery should feel welcoming and accommodating, not frustrating and dismissive.
Jean T — Google review
Best bakery in the area. Amazing selection of croissants, bars, tarts and loaves of bread. The latte was amazing as well. I’d definitely recommend stopping by here in the morning before starting your day of adventures or work. Lots of seating outside and parking nearby.

This was my favorite place to go for breakfast and coffee every morning while I was staying in the area. Coffee is delicious, but their selection of pastries is amazing. I was obsessed with the Everything Cream Cheese Croissant. Oh. My. The croissant was light and flaky. I have been craving it ever since I left. I got it every morning. Also, service was super fast!

Annie O' Love's Cookie Cafe, located in the West Ashley neighborhood, has gained a devoted following for its delectable offerings. What began as a farmers market cookie venture has blossomed into a thriving cafe. The menu is entirely vegan and gluten-free, with careful attention given to sourcing high-quality ingredients. The cafe offers an array of treats including cookie cakes, vegan cheesecakes, and gluten-free birthday cake pints.
Nice atmosphere with delicious food. The menu sounds amazing and I really wanted to order everything on the menu. I was in town for the day and they had perfect vegan selection. Decided to dine in for a minute and service was nice. A calm, peaceful atmosphere. Took a smoothie to go after having avocado toast and the mushroom quesadillas. Every thing was so tasty. Took some to take to my kid and he loved it too.

This place was always a go-to for me! I’ve loved almost all of the cookies and desserts I’ve tried, and the pesto was also just so amazing!!! The prices can be a bit much but the ingredients are top notch and everything is vegan, which is wonderful. I try to recommend to others!!! The only downfall is that sometimes service can be a bit rude but other than that I hope to be back soon.

I am in love with Annie O Love's! This was the one place I wanted to try while visiting Charleston! Seriously, my mouth was watering the second we booked our trip 9 months in advance! It did not disappoint. Got the Mac Daddy "Chicken" and Waffles and my hubby got the Holy Frijoles Batman Quesadilla. Both were amazing. Loved the use of peanut butter tofu with hot sauce and the granola on the waffles. Such an interesting flavor combo. For dessert, we ordered each of the available cookie jars which were de-freakin-lightful. Mine (can't remember the name) had yellow cake and strawberry cheesecake batter layered with almonds and chocolate chips. The other had chocolate cake and layers of buttercream and chocolate chips. We even ordered an order of two pancakes (with granola baked right in) for breakfast the next morning since we were leaving early. I know some folks remarked it was a bit pricey but it was worth it. Please also consider this is a small business making everything from scratch with a fully vegan menu. Quality ingredients and hard work don't come cheap!

We stopped by Annie O’ Love’s Cookie Café to treat our son after a long day of shopping. We didn’t have much time to research, just saw the high ratings and decided to give it a try. We ordered the lavender lemonade and the oatmeal cream-pie stuffed double cookie, which we were told is their most popular item. The cookie was extremely sweet, more like a sugar bomb with a thick, heavy filling between two cookies. It felt overwhelming rather than enjoyable, and I honestly regretted letting my son have it because of how sugary it was. The lavender lemonade was also not a hit with him, as the lavender flavor was a bit too intense. On top of that, the smell inside the shop was somewhat unusual and not very inviting. Overall, while the concept of the café is interesting, the experience didn’t live up to the hype for us. Service was very good though.

i cannot put into words how incredible this cookie was!!! it wasn’t too insanely sweet, dense, moist, and everything you would want in a cookie!! the pumpkin spice matcha was amazing too

My buddy and I stopped in for a quick bite and ordered the Fungi Sammie and the Shroom Quesadilla—wow, absolutely incredible! 🌟 The flavors blended perfectly, and the fact that it’s 100% vegan was a huge bonus. Easily a 10/10. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Don’t forget to head upstairs to play some of the games too—it really adds to the experience. To top it all off, we had the lavender lemonade and, you guessed it, AMAZING. 🍋💜

Was doom scrolling on Instagram having coffee yesterday morning and came across a post that show cased all of their new fall cookies and pancakes...10am couldnt have come fast enough. I needed those pancakes. I got them. And WOW. Best. Ever. I will be going back later this week for more breakfast pancakes and for cookies! We bought 4 cookies, all of which were very good, the best one was The Wicked Witch. An intensely black and purple cookie, ive never eaten a BLACK cookie with PURPLE frosting...and im pretty sure its all vegan. Im beyond impressed and absolutely LOVE this place. My fiance and i were fighting over who got to finish the cookie. Also...the lady their split our pancakes into to dishes, i didnt even ask that she just did it. It made our experience even better as we had jjst planned to lean over and split a single serving together as a way to try it....THANK YOU!!!!! See yall again very very soon!!❤️❤️🤝

Weltons Tiny Bakeshop, located on King Street, may be small in size but it offers a wide variety of delectable baked goods with European influences. From traditional Breton cakes to French pastries flavored with rum and vanilla, the bakeshop's menu is filled with unique and delicious treats. Despite its limited space that can only accommodate a few customers at a time, the bakeshop tends to attract long lines due to its popularity.
Top notch. My favorite thing about this place is you can tell how much care is put into every item because it’s standard size pastries & beautiful. It is not an ‘in your face’ croissant bigger than your head kind of place! And that’s always a good sign!!!Every item is carefully crafted and stunningly presented! - The croissant latte was incredibly unique, rich, yet silky smooth! - Seasonal danish (at the time, fig) was DIVINE. The layers of the pastry melt in your mouth and the custard is just the best, highly recommend! Yes, you will spend an arm and a leg here - I do say it is worth it but more so for the pastries than for the coffee! Also they have imported Italian chocolate that I’ve only ever seen in Italy ???? Major major plus!!! Lastly, the service was impeccable. The girls were so sweet and helpful in recommendations despite the fast pace and chaos of the line! I will be back 😋
Lauren S — Google review
I highly recommend this place because the food is so delicious especially the sweet croissant. It’s filled with creamy vanilla that’s not too heavy, perfectly balanced with the fragrant, light blueberry jam, and topped with crunchy almonds for that extra bite. It’s no surprise the place is packed every morning!

Stumbled into opening day of the new tiny tiny shop next door, what a delight! Huge assortment of unique and gorgeous pastries, croissants, sweet/savory cakes, and espresso drinks. The staff was all cheery and chef helping iron out service. The kitchen space is all next door in original space now, and the outdoor seating on a nice cool morning was stellar. I tried the hot honey sopressata croissant and a peanut praline berry jam croissant and both were to die for. I travel all over looking for great pastries and weltons is definitely up near the top!! Keep up the great work ☺️

Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop really lives up to the name. Small space but big flavor. We ordered a dirty chai latte, iced toasted croissant latte, a fig leaf sugar morning bun, and a dark chocolate croissant. Everything was tasty and flaky. Coffee was great, service was friendly, and they even had free samples. Cozy little spot with a fun atmosphere. Tiny but mighty!

Amazing Bakery Probably too small But all what they do is super good the apple Danish was awesome. Unfortunately they do not do any good coffees or cappuccino or latte ...Will be good if they could start to do that . But as Bakery is really good Little bit overpriced.

I’ve never been to Paris but the hot honey soppressata croissant is the best pastry I’ve ever had. We stopped on a whim because there was a line at 9 on a Saturday (only 4 people can be in the shop at once). The line flowed quickly and it was totally worth the wait before our flight.

SO GOOD! The sourdough croissant latte was the best coffee I have veer had! We got several pastries and they were all delicious.

Well-worth a visit (or many)! We were prepared to wait in line but on a Wednesday morning at 9am we didn’t have to. Staff was friendly and informative. Outdoor seating in the alley was charming. I’d be hard-pressed to choose a favourite pastry and I recommend them all: squash focaccia (warmed-up) was amazingly flavorful, kouign amann was crispy and sweet, every bite of the strawberry danish was truly mind blowing. Rosemary biscuit was surprisingly soft and mouthwatering! Drinks are brought in from a vendor but great to have in-shop. The drip coffee from Second State was mid (we are picky) but functional, and we did enjoy the free-refills. OJ was yummy.

In addition to traditional sweets, the cafe offers dessert-inspired cocktails, milkshakes, and indulgent sundaes.
This was a unique find. I can’t imagine there being a better dessert place in the city. Our server, Sonny, was simply amazing and had great suggestions and a charming smile. There is a sign hanging up that says that the USA Today newspaper says it’s the best milkshake in South Carolina and we think we might agree. It was an incredible chocolate milkshake. We also got the mixed berry cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which just melted in your mouth. We weren’t even hungry when we came in and we finished both. The atmosphere has got a bar-like feel with very cool vibes but it’s all desserts. This is a unique place right next door to the market that you need to check out.

Party of 4 walked in to escape a little rain and to grab refreshments. Skyler was our server and she was on point! Her attitude was upbeat and her recommendations were no different. I had one of the old fashioned cocktails and it was great and had a little spin on it. I would definitely recommend this drink if you visit. My partner and my sister both ordered espresso martinis that were really good and Skyler recommended another martini which I believe was a mocha-tini and it was fantastic and she recommended the curious George to my partner which she also really enjoyed. My nephew got a chocolate kids shake with Oreo and he absolutely killed it in no time. We also got a slice of the red velvet cake to share and I tried the gluten free chocolate cake and they were both SO good! Not too rich- not overly sweet and the perfect moistness. I often recommend Kaminskys to people and will continue to do so.

5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The dessert I bought was exceptional! I typically don’t like coconut but this one was very good! Good crust, good taste, and not too sweet. Stopped by a dessert shop and tried their three-layer chocolate cake. Rich, decadent, and absolutely worth the hype. Each layer delivered a deep cocoa flavor with just the right level of sweetness. The frosting was smooth and velvety without overpowering the cake itself. This place clearly has a following, and it’s easy to see why. Whether you’re a chocolate lover or just craving something indulgent, this slice hits the mark.

It's a popular morning destination for locals from all walks of life, including politicians and artists.
Everything about the food was great. As an Iranian who makes kebabs at home, it’s not easy for me to praise restaurant kebabs — but this one was impressive! The portion size was right, and the texture and flavor of the meat were just spot on. The only downside was the lack of sumac, which I think is a pretty important part of the experience. After a long time, I had Doogh (yogurt drink) again — it was good, but not amazing. The atmosphere was very interesting, and you can also buy Iranian groceries from their store. Overall, it was a delicious and satisfying experience. I just wish they had sumac too!

A Charleston staple on East Bay. Been around for decades, strong value play! Entrees around $20, glasses of wine 6-10. Ill say that again - glassed of wine around $8- when was the last time anybody has heard of that in 2025!? Very diverse menu, huge amount of desserts. Not the most high end in town, but not trying to be. Worth a try for a casual meal or dessert. Hard to call yourself a local without stopping by at least once.

Ordered the Reuben sandwich with onion rings, a side salad with ginger dressing & the She Crab Soup. The sandwich was “eh.” It needed something. Added salt, which helped, but still needed something. The soup was fabulous. It came with a roll, which was tasty and great dipped in the soup. The salad was absolutely fabulous! It had fresh mushrooms, spinach, avocado, tomato & cucumbers. Our waitress was simply wonderful, friendly, outgoing, helpful and very chatty, which we liked. To us, that makes our experience more personal. We didn’t get pastries since we ate dinner, but they looked very yummy.

On our last day in Charleston, we tried this place a half mile from our hotel in the French quarter. We had seen it earlier in the week on our way to the aquarium. Hands down some of the best Mediterranean food we have had in quite some time. The portions were huge. The ingredients were fresh. The three of us ate off two ordered meals and still had left overs. One server for the entire dining room, however he handled us and others quite fine. Never missed a beat. One star down on atmosphere as it’s a bit dated and could stand a fresh coat of paint per see. For a casual restaurant it could be a 5 star though. Just depends on how you want to grade it.
Chad A — Google review
I like the variety. The Crookie is a croissant filled with cookie dough. I expected a crunch to the croissant that was lacking. I wanted to put it in the oven to crisp it up but the pastry was already dark, slightly dry. I did enjoy the gooey cookie dough center. I also sampled a slice of chocolate cake that was good but I didnt get to sample it at room temperature to experience the different textures of the filling.

If you are looking for the largest chocolate croissant, Saffron Bakery is the place! Staff were incredibly friendly and efficient but we did not find the pastries or bread to be anything special. We ordered an Apple danish, a chocolate croissant, a pecan roll, an iced chai tea, and a ciabatta bread. The pecan roll was the best of our selection. While the pastries were satisfactory, we had higher expectations. While we did not get to try the cakes, they did look extraordinary! The parking lot also only has about 6 spots which were often full, however, we were able to utilize paid parking across the street.
Macy H — Google review
It feels like we visited Saffron at the worst moment. Atmosphere: it feels like they are preparing for a renovation. Service: fast enough and polite. It felt as though they are a bit understaffed. Food: this one is the hardest. Small plates - very very good Crab & Avocado Stack - fresh and balanced! Shrimp and grits - I guess we simply didn't understand their variant of the recipe. No smoky flavor, no tomatoes, grey-ish gravy. Ate shrimps, left the rest. Shrimp Curry - delicious rice and curry with raw spiced veggies as if chef forgot to grill them at all. Coffee - good Americano. Deserts we had Pear Tart and mini amaretto cream bake. Pear Tart 3.5. amaretto cream bake very good, fresh and flavorful! And they had really good Raspberry Mimosa!!! That's gonna be my feedback. As honest as it can be.

Breizh Pan Crepes is a charming cafe in Charleston, South Carolina, offering an authentic taste of traditional western French cuisine. Since 2015, this cozy pastel-hued spot has been serving up a wide variety of sweet and savory crepes made with special imported Buckwheat flour. Run by two French-trained chefs, Patrice and Celine, the cafe prides itself on providing quality French food in an authentic atmosphere.
Looking for breakfast on our last day in Charleston. This Cafe had the highest rating and best prices. Amazing! Tiny but mighty. Lovely staff who are glad you came to eat. Delicious, generous portions.

Was in the mood for crêpes, and this place popped up as one of the highest reviewed in the area. Located less than half a block off of King Street, this no-frills restaurant has delicious options, both sweet and savory in addition to options for those who may be looking for something other than a crêpe. My husband got an egg white omelette and Nutella crêpe, and we also got La Tristan which was delicious! Limited seating inside, you must order before you grab your seat. There’s great music playing in the background and you can tell the folks that work there have a great time as they sing and move to the music between customers. Definitely worth a visit!

Crepes here are just ideal! We took savory Buckwheat crepes with salmon, and another with eggs and goat cheese. It was a perfect healthy breakfast. We just couldn’t leave without something sweet, so Nutella croissants and crepe with backed apples nailed it. Thank you guys! You have made our day!
Kateryna K — Google review
It's just ok. The crepes are simple, which I expected given that the restaurant is managed by a French family that brought along the recipes from the birth place of crepes as a dish. Which means you get the original, simple source material without all the stuff added to it through the years by other cultures. The ambiance is that of a college crepes hangout, which is exactly what it is. Gluten-free options are available. Overall: solid, well-priced, worthy of checking out.

This may be one of the world’s worst crepe shops. We had actually intended on eating nearby but the original place was closed so we decided crepes sounded delicious. It was anything but that. The orders took a long time to come out and our entire party had terrible crepes that no one finished. The only redeeming factor was that they brought it some complimentary Nutella crepes to make up for the long wait and those were actually delicious. Go with sweet crepes here if you have to choose, don’t do savory crepes at all.

Absolutely loved it! The crepes were out of this world—crispy, light, and full of flavor. Service was quick and super friendly, and the vibe was cozy yet vibrant. Perfect brunch spot in Charleston. Will definitely be back!

Christophe on Society in Charleston is one of the best patisseries on earth! The almond croissant is a masterpiece...flaky, with perfect amounts of almond paste, powdered sugar and sliced almonds! And the fruit tarts are heavenly!

I'm completely in love with this place! Everything is so beautiful and delicious!!! Their hot chocolate is wonderful!

Had a wonderful experience choosing some chocolates here. Get a gift box for yourself along with one as a gift for someone else because you will not want to part with these chocolates. Welcoming store in a quaint old light blue house on a side street in Charleston specializing in making chocolates and pastries. Worth the experience alone!

I've been in Charleston a long time and never knew about this place until recently. Wow! Located between Meeting and King Streets on Society, the pastries, the chocolates, everything here is delicious and just as good, priced right! From the little cakes of mousse to the chocolates you will not be disappointed in the taste. No doubt this place will be responsible for ten of my pounds at some point, LOL!

The best almond croissant I’ve ever had! The workers are so sweet and helpful, me and my friends felt so welcomed. Will definitely return next time I’m in Charleston :)

The chocolate was pricey but worth it. I like the pistachio and orange chocolates so far. I will be back to try more. Sorry we are it before I thought about posting it.

The chocolates and macaroons were beautiful, and the employees were lovely. I try and find good macaroons whenever I travel, so I was really excited about these, and the presentation in the packaging was absolutely beautiful… but they fell short flavor wise. All the fruit flavored ones tasted overpoweringly artificial. The other flavors, like the chocolate and the salted Carmel were absolutely delicious!

Saveurs du Monde Cafe is a charming spot located at the Shoppes At Seaside Farms in Mt Pleasant, SC. The cafe offers a delightful selection of traditional French pastries and cuisine in a modern setting, complete with dog-friendly outdoor tables. Guests can savor an array of delectable dishes such as bacon & egg croissants, quiche Lorraine, banh mi, smoked salmon tartines, and crisp salads.
I see that there are some complaints but every time I’ve gotten takeout, the service and food have been pretty stellar. Today they were having some technical issues and rather than turn us away, they put the order through and I will go back and pay later! The Croque Croissant is my go-to. It’s indulgent but not too rich. Ham and Swiss with bechamel on a croissant is sometimes just the perfect thing.
Gabrielle S — Google review
I really want to love this place—honestly, the food is quite good. But every time I come, I’m reminded that great food alone isn’t enough. There’s a consistent lack of attention to detail that makes the whole experience feel neglected. Dead leaves scattered across the outdoor tables and sidewalk (while every other nearby business manages to keep theirs clean), chipped plates and coffee mugs that I’ve had to ask to replace more than once, and recently, flies inside and even a roach crawling on the wall. These aren’t minor oversights—they signal a lack of pride in what should be a beautiful, thriving café. This place has so much potential. With better leadership, more care, and basic cleanliness, it could easily be a standout in the area. Just look at Owl Bear Café around the corner—lines out the door. There’s no reason this café shouldn’t be operating at the same level. I keep giving it another chance because I want to support it. But until things are cleaned up and taken seriously, I can’t keep coming back. I hope this is taken as encouragement to step things up, because this spot could be something really special. — A customer who wants to return, but can’t right now

Such a nice treat in Mt. Pleasant! The staff was very welcoming and took the time to explain menu items and make recommendations. Love the bottomless coffee and water! I ordered the croissant with bacon, egg, and cheese. It was superb! I also enjoyed a side of tomato basil soup, which went well with the croissant sandwich. The dining area is nice and clean, and we enjoyed the French tunes in the background. Outdoor seating is also available. Menu has a great selection of items, and the pastries looked awesome, I will definitely need to return to try some more menu items!

I wish I could give negative stars — that’s how disappointing my experience was at this place. The service was honestly unacceptable. I wasn’t even greeted properly; my “Good morning” was completely ignored. They added cinnamon to my cappuccino (something I’ve never encountered before), and only offered to remake it after noticing I wasn’t drinking it. When they finally remade it, they brought it in a to-go cup, even though I was dining in and had originally received a proper ceramic cup. To make matters worse, it was a large size, even though I had specifically ordered a small — I prefer a strong cappuccino, not a watered-down version that tastes like a latte. We ended up leaving with our croissants, hoping to get a proper coffee elsewhere, but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time due to our schedule. So not only did we waste money, but also our time and morning — all because of poor service. I absolutely do not recommend this place. When we go out and spend our money, it’s to enjoy a good experience — not to be let down this badly.

Best coffee on isle of palms hands down!! And I’m a coffee snob… pastries are to die for- especially the almond croissant.. 😊. Whole family enjoyed their dining experience… no complaints from anyone- and the party was pretty big- 8 of us!! Great job 👏!! A Must

Stopped by Saveurs DuMonde Cafe at Seaside Farms and was incredibly delighted at the friendliness of the staff there, the amazing pastries and the cute and quaint cafe that they have! While I did not have time to sit and stay and enjoy their full menu, I did get several pastries to go to try. The crème brûlée and the eclairs were absolutely amazing, but the real star of the show was their melt in your mouth macarons! The flavors and texture of the macaron was absolute perfection and left us wishing we had grabbed more! We will definitely be back in again!

It's sad to write this review, as we've been loyal customers for a long time. Our last visit felt like a completely different experience. The service was slow and unorganized—the cashier was even on her phone while taking our order. We noticed little things that added up, like chipped plates and dine-in drinks being served in to-go cups. The food was just okay, and the pastries, coffee, and smoothies were also very average. Although the staff were kind and did their best to fix a mistake with our order, the general lack of cleanliness and the drop in quality were concerning. Unfortunately, this isn't the place we remember, and we've decided not to come back.

Second State Coffee is a popular choice among Charleston's creative community and young crowd, with three serene and charming locations in the city. The coffee bar boasts a minimalist-chic ambiance, offering hot and cold drinks, along with window-bar seating, communal tables, and WiFi. It stands out as the exclusive provider of authentic coffee from Kenya, Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Colombia in Charleston.
I spent Easter weekend in Charleston with my family and came to this shop every morning. It was a quick walk from our hotel, but also very close to the shops and a short walk to Market. The location is great, quiet part of town, you will not find it by walking the tourist areas. The staff was super friendly and welcoming each morning, and they made some create coffee! I got a version of a vanilla flat white each morning. Will definitely be back!

A charming, authentic coffee shop in Charleston’s historic district. The coffee is of good quality. The design is very simple, but bright and clean. It’s a bit cramped, but the great coffee makes up for it. I recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Good coffee, as always. However, the place needs some touch-ups to look as pretty as it used to—especially the floor. I used to love the wooden bench outside. It’s pretty beat up now, too:(

Atmosphere is wonderful and coffee was okay. The WA location coffee tastes slightly better but I’m also likely being overly picky! Unfortunately, the cinnamon roll we bought was completely stale and hard to the point of being inedible (and as someone who is not picky about baked goods, even stale ones, I mean this was truly inedible). Hopefully it was just a fluke but it was a bummer to realize after we left!

Harken Cafe is a charming vintage-inspired establishment located in downtown Charleston. It exudes a cozy country-chic vibe and offers a delightful menu featuring breakfast items, baguettes, cakes, and an assortment of vegan baked goods. The cafe is known for its impeccable decor that creates a homely atmosphere.
Obsessed with Harken ! This spot was 10/10. Their salads were fresh and unique with healthy ingredients. If you enjoy holistic eating, this is a must try spot. We LOVED the turmeric pumpkin seed apricot load ! We enjoyed it so much we came back twice a day for both breakfast and lunch ! … even grabbed their cookbook to try and recreate some of the recipes at home. The pasties were unique and artisan, always freshly baked. I loved the potato scallion salad and herb bean pea salad. 10/10 recommend. The pricing is also extremely reasonable.

On a very busy morning, Alissa at the front gave me stellar customer service. Warm, genuine, helpful, knowledgeable. Harlem is one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to and as a frequent traveler I’ve been to some of the best! Baked goods and coffee are out of this world! Don’t miss this charming and delicious place in historic Charleston!

We ordered a traditional macchiato, an iced caramel latte, the spinach artichoke bun, and the German chocolate bun. The pastries were tasty, but we didn’t know they could be warmed up until a friend mentioned they were asked. Wish that had been offered to us, since we definitely would’ve enjoyed them more that way. Coffee was solid, but we did notice a few flies on the open pastry case and in the bathroom, which was a bit off-putting. A cute spot overall, just a few small things that could make the experience even better.

Came here for a latte and pastries - the selection was incredible. you can tell the scones & biscuits were fresh basked. I ordered a pimento scone & raspberry pound cake, only received the matcha chocolate chip muffin. We didn’t notice until later because we took it to-go, so that was disappointing! Otherwise would give it 5 stars

Outstanding breakfast sandwich in a very charming place! The only major issue was the time to order on a Sunday morning was 30 mins - with roughly 14 people ahead in line - time to order just took forever. They said the food would take 25 mins, but was less.

Normandy Farm Artisan Bakery is a beloved bakery in Charleston, known for supplying fresh bread to the city's top restaurants. The inviting aroma of freshly baked bread and an array of delectable treats like cupcakes, tart pies, and scones make it a must-visit spot. The bakery offers an assortment of sandwiches made with the freshest ingredients on their own artisanal breads.
The place is like under renovation or only opening half the space for some reason and lacks any seating, but the sandwiches were amazing, and a great price! The coffee was fine but the sandwiches are definitely the star. Probably the best focaccia bread I’ve ever had!
Michael T — Google review
Unfortunately this place which has amazing potential is really missing the mark. The owners need to shut down for a few days and do a deep clean on the whole entire place. There are fingerprints on all glass, debris everywhere, and it’s just very obvious that cleanings and maintenance haven’t been a priority. Good siting under heat lamps at a place that is suppose to be artisanal is crazy.

This is an excellent little bakery! They never disappoint- just so consistent for years with delicious food, straightforward quick service, and cleanliness. A place to just lounge w/ a biscuit, a sandwich, really good coffee, quiche, or whatever you like from a bakery. If I can sneak in there for a bite before work I do- it starts the day right.

Laura recommended the jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was delicious- toasted to perfection and topped with the most velvety smooth cream cheese spread; will definitely be back!
Jake W — Google review
You know that you are in a working bakery when they have a "wanted" sign in the window asking for help coming in at 4 am. A cozy place that smells, looks, and feels like a bakery. Country Batard, croissants, and sandwiches looked fabulous and tasted so much better than anything you can buy at a grocery store. The bread has plenty of fine pores, a wonderful shape with a taste on the lighter, less sour and more wheaty side. The bread was stored after the first day in a plastic bag at room temperature and when toasted was still delicious 5 days later. The croissant was one of the largest and heaviest I ever had and good in taste. That said, I prefer smaller, more buttery and flaky croissants. I apologize for the 4 stars. Compared to grocery store bread this is at least on a 6 star level, but for decades I lived in Europe and compared to those breads, the bread was slightly overbaked and the croissant was missing lamination.
Gottfried K — Google review
The food is great and the outdoor seating is super cute but the customer service is severely lacking. the employees seem so miserable, i don’t get greeted upon entering, and they’re overall just not super friendly. not rude by any means, just not super welcoming or friendly.

The food was ok but way overpriced. I bought a sandwich and a coffee for $16 and the sandwich was still cold after being “heated up”. The lady who worked the counter had a terrible attitude and made me feel very unwelcome. I’ve come here a few times, each time hoping it’ll be better but it isn’t.

I can only give 5 stars but they deserve 10. This French Bakery is just fantastic and, they are dog friendly. The owner loved my little pooch and he gave her several treats while we were in his shop. I had an almond croissant and it was really amazing. You should definitely give them a try.

So good! I devoured my almond pastry in 5 min. My daughter ate all of hers as well. So flaky and not too sweet. This is much better than the other dessert places we tried, including Kaminsky dessert bar and another coffee/dessert bar. The other stuff is just too sweet and lacking real ingredients. The owner here was pleasant. I hope to go earlier tomorrow to have more to pick from.

This is our favorite place every time we come into town. The kindness, experience and food of course are the best. The warm croissant sandwiches with ham and mustard that come out buttery and fresh are unmatched. We love the owners and how they make you feel cared about and remembered. Such an amazing yet small place. The inside is quaint and well decorated. The seating outside made us feel like we were a thousand miles away and not in downtown Charleston. The owner/baker is incredibly friendly and took the time to talk with each of us while making sure that the food was fresh and we were comfortable. We tried nearly one of everything but our favorite was the croque monsieur. It was so well crafted and tasted amazing heated up. I would come back here again and again to keep trying all of the different options.

I went to this shop last year on my trip to my friends wedding. Out of curiosity as I saw lots one 1 star reviews about how rude the owner is. But at the same time all good reviews stated how good the foods is. I actually went to all the bakeries in the city, tried all the croissants because I loved croissants. And the croissants here are the best. To me, the owners are very nice, but they demand respect and they are very straightforward which I prefer. As we should always respect each other. Anyway, thank you again for your hard work and I wish you the best!

🌿 Review: If you're looking for a great cup of tea and breakfast, this is the place — cozy, warm, and beautifully balanced. The food and customer service were A+. It’s a perfect stop for travelers or visitors; they even have charming gifts and keepsakes for those “keys of precious moments” to collect. The bookshelf and cozy couches sealed the experience for me. As I relaxed and sipped my tea, I could take in the city from the window view — pure peace. I truly embody this place. I ordered the Zen Tea with steamed crème and honey, along with a croissant sandwich — light, large, and buttery perfection. 🥐✨

I haven’t had this great of an experience in Charleston at a restaurant in over a year!! I LOVED the vibes, the drinks were fantastic, and the staff was so helpful, happy, and nice! The price was extremely good. We got 2 bacon egg and cheeses (one on croissant), almond croissant, an iced caramel latte, and a mango bubble fruit. Cannot recommend this place enough- everything tasted great! (Also the staff gave us a free sample of their croissant waffle and it was so good)

My husband and I came in and got two coffees and a bite to eat each. We got iced mocha and iced vanilla latte. I found it odd that for mine most of the mocha sauce was on the inside of the cup and at the bottom rather than mixed into the drink. My husband said he couldn’t taste any vanilla in his, and it appeared all the flavoring was at the bottom of his drink as well. It’s great they have the cups that don’t require straws but it made it impossible for us to mix in our flavors. The flavor of the espresso was good, and they are able to do decaf. Just disappointed my mocha had only had mocha flavor for my last few sips when I got to the bottom. My husband didn’t even drink his latte :( The food was good, I had the turkey panini and husband has the croffle with the Nutella topping. He said you have to eat it hot otherwise it gets hard and tough. My sandwich was good just on the smaller side. If I wasn’t pregnant I probably would have been happy with the size 😂 With 4.8 stars at the time of our visit, I had high hopes for this place when we treated ourselves. At $35 I just feel disappointed. We went at 11a, so it wasn’t what I consider a busy time (no other customers were there when we arrived, although they do DoorDash orders). Of course everyone can have an off day, and with lots of other highly positive reviews perhaps this was a fluke.
Jessica W — Google review
Owner was so friendly! We came in one day as we walked by and tried the croffles. How did I not know of the existence of this deliciousness? We loved them so much we came back for more the next day! The second day we had an egg sandwich and a veggie panini- both had crispy airy breads- croissant (egg sandwich) and ciabatta (veggie panini). Of course the tea was to die for, we especially liked the strawberry pearls. Very, very satisfying!

First time visiting this ice cold brew and bubble tea shop in downtown Charleston area- 427 King Street to be exact. The lay out of the shop is so nice and open. The place is very clean and I love how friendly the owners were. They offer the samples of local pecans and cold ice brew coffees. The drink menus of bubble tea and slushies are great and the ice cold brew is so so refreshing for Charleston warm weather. This coffee-bubble tea shop also offer Charleston local goodies such as pecans, bee city honey ( my favorite) , and sweetgrass baskets, pickled, and local others locally made knicks knacks. We really enjoyed the bubble teas and pastries that we ordered and will definitely coming back to this place. P.s: get you some amazing coffee beans from this place!

Nestled in West Ashley, Euro Foods Bakery & Cafe is a hidden gem that every food lover should discover. This charming family-owned European market and cafe has been delighting locals since 2006, when Aleksandr Pavlichenko opened its doors after relocating from New York. The cafe offers an array of mouthwatering dishes that will leave you craving more—think slow-cooked tomato sauce drizzled over savory cabbage rolls and the unforgettable khachapuri, a cheesy bread boat that's simply divine.
Great place for lunch with a good variety of dishes that are very tasty and well seasoned. Friendly service. Lots of products and meat and sausages available for purchase in the store. Stuffed cabbage rolls were very good as well as the pasta dishes. Pierogis were delicious. Good place to share entrees with friends and family. There are a few tables outside.

I especially love the acacia honey from the Carpathian region of Western Ukraine and the Riga Sprouts! It's wonderful that the owners of Euro Foods support Ukraine; I truly appreciate that! However, I do have a question: WHY do they also sell products from Russia?! Can’t they ban them for the time being?!

WOW. Walked in on a chance this morning and it was like a I took a trip to my mom’s polish kitchen. Scandalous statement: this might be the best restaurant in Charleston! Yep, I said it and stand by it. I grew up eating pierogies, and these are some of the best I've ever had. Forgive me for not trying to spell their other food items (lol), but the cheese/bread boat dish might just be the best thing I've ever eaten. I nearly cried, and I'm not even joking. The schnitzel is fantastic! The open faced sandwich with meat is amazing! The little beef dumpling thingies are delicious! I also need to mention that everybody that works there is delightful! Try the Georgian sodas. Very different from the usual and really wonderful. I might go back daily. Just know that the Cafe is closed on Sundays.

Daddy's Girls Bakery, located on Reynolds Avenue in North Charleston, is a beloved spot known for its delectable baked goods. Founded by Chastity and Nate Brown in 2011, the bakery offers an array of fresh, made-from-scratch treats including their specialty Charleston chewies and banana pudding cake. The bakery has gained recognition for its stunning wedding cakes that are not only visually appealing with dried flowers but also boast delicious flavors like chocolate hazelnut and almond.
I cannot rave enough about this bakery! If you have a special event, a baby Shower, a birthday, and anniversary or a wedding, you just have to pick this bakery! My daughter lives in the Charleston area and I found this bakery doing a Google search and the reviews do not fit how amazing they are! The customer service over the phone was top-notch! The cupcakes and the dipped Oreos… I can’t even begin to tell you how delectable they were! Everyone at the baby shower raved! I mean RAVED! I cannot thank this couple enough or this bakery for making my daughter’s special day even more special. The pictures just do not do justice to how beautiful the items I ordered were.LOVE!! God bless you two and your business!
Cathy B — Google review
Highly recommend this bakery. I was planning a baby shower from out of state and found this bakery in my search. Soooo glad I did! The communication with Chasity was great. We spoke on the phone and she was so sweet and patient. The specialty cake turned out beautifully and tasted so good. Exceeded my expectations! Chasity is an amazing artist and baker!

I ordered a cake for my graduation party. From start to finish, Daddy's Girls was professional and listened to how I wanted the cake designed. The cake was right on point. The cake was in the strawberry flavor and let me tell you, it was delicious! It had such a fresh strawberry flavor. We also ordered their famous chewies for the party and my guests raved about them. They taste like pecan pie and are buttery. I've had their other dessert options at other times and everything is always delicious. The pickup process was seamless. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Highly recommend!

I must have came at a bad time because I did not have the same great experience everyone else did. I will say I loved how friendly everyone was and I definitely encourage people to support a family business. However, my red velvet cupcake was incredibly dry and I threw that out. The chocolate cupcake was also dry and the frosting tasted grainey almost so I did not finish that either. The pineapple upside down cheesecake was just alright. I visited the bakery based on reviews but like I said I personally just didn't enjoy it the dessert.
Kalia P — Google review
Absolutely a homemade, bonafide delicious bakery experience. I will not ever forget the taste of the sweet potato pie cheesecake or the satisfying bite into my first Charleston Chewie! This is a must support, must try, must make-the-trip, black-owned and beautiful experience. When back in town, we will make this N. Charleston shop a part of our culinary tradition. Keep doing what y'all are doing!!

Daddy's Girls Bakery made my wedding cake and it was absolutely breathtaking and delicious! They were able to take inspiration pictures from Pinterest and create exactly what I wanted! The dried flowers were so pretty and the flavor was amazing. We had chocolate hazelnut and almond. We got so many compliments on it! We also appreciated the amount of tasting samples at the beginning. They really provide you with great experience from start to finish and we will definitely be getting future cakes from here!
Samantha S — Google review
The chews are awesome! I can't say enough about the cupcakes. Homemade ice cream!!! The staff is polite and friendly. We needed a dessert option while in Charleston and it was the right choice. We highly recommend it! Thanks guys.

So I Googled, “Cheesecake near me”. I had no idea I would find the strawberry crunch cheesecake that I’ve been craving for months. You mean to tell me this has been down the street from me all this time? It is so good! It’s rich, creamy, and sweet—but the perfect sweet that still allows the other flavors to shine. I love it. The customer service was great! My first, but definitely not my last time!

SuMi Argentine Bakery is a charming bakery known for its delightful and authentic Argentine treats. The owner, An, is known for her exceptional kindness and dedication to her customers. She once stayed up all night baking dozens of treats for a customer's last-minute school project, showcasing her commitment to providing excellent service. Customers rave about the original Alfajores and dark chocolate varieties, praising their delicious taste and beautiful presentation. The attention to detail in every bite reflects the bakery's dedication to quality.
Dulces del Sur brings the authentic taste of Argentina to Charleston with handcrafted alfajores. Soft, sweet, and filled with creamy dulce de leche — a perfect treat for any craving
Nelson R — Google review
I saw some reviews of these adorable desserts and really wanted to try them. An was so kind and even managed to put together an order for me on a short notice! We had the original Alfajores and some dark chocolate ones. They were a great new treat for us. They were so pretty and delicious too!
Kristin G — Google review
I was so impressed with SuMi Argentine Bakery. I purchased two samplers for my clients. Andrea was wonderful to work with. The cookies were a big hit and they were almost too pretty to eat. The care that was taken in the presentation was amazing. I highly recommend!
Mary W — Google review
I really have no words for how incredible these little treats are. From start to finish, working with SuMi was a breeze. She is so kind and sweet too! We ordered several boxes of Mars, Southern, Pistak, and London flavors for a large event. A week later and everyone is still talking about them! Not a single crumb left. And the packaging is such a vibe and so cute. They would make a great gift for anyone. I've already placed my next order!
Luna V — Google review
SuMi never disappoints! These alfajores are simply to die for! The presentation and service are impeccable. Any chance I get to enjoy a taste of my Latin culture here in Charleston I savor and truly, these sweet delights surely make Argentina proud!
Alyssa R — Google review
These are outstanding, delicious and attractive items. Service is always great even with my usual last-minute orders. The alfajors have become a traditional gift in my office at...wait for it...MUSC Weight Management Center for our dietitians for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day! (This is not necessarily meant as an endorsement of the weight loss value of the alfajors, but it does say a lot about our dietitians' appreciation of good taste and of the importance of enjoying some foods as a source of delight!)
Patrick O — Google review
Such a beautiful and delightful dessert. Presentation is amazing and the taste so unique and delicious. Be mindful that you can finish the box very quickly. Can't wait to order again. Thanks SuMi for such uniqueness !
Mila — Google review
These are the best alfajores I have ever tried in my life! As an Argentinian I have tried so many in my life, but these ones are unique and high quality. The homemade cookies plus the dulce de leche are mouth watering and one of the most delicious treats you will ever try!

Girl Nextdough is a popular food truck known for its outstanding homemade breakfast offerings. The small woman-owned business prides itself on attention to detail and great balance in their menu items. While there may be a wait due to everything being made from scratch, the delicious food and great coffee make it worth it. Customers love supporting this local gem and enjoy favorites like the benne seed bagel, pop tarts, and gougere.
Love the location off of Folly Road on Signal Point Road, James Island. Plenty of parking. There are several picnic tables if you want to stay and eat. I love the egg and cheese on the everything bagel. The iced coffee is really good. Sweets are divine.
Lisa H — Google review
I have tried a lot of bagel places over the years and the bagels here are the best I have ever had. All of their pastries are incredible too. We went every weekend while we were in the area.
Jacob B — Google review
Oh my god! I tried the hummus and tomato confit on a plain sourdough bagel and I will be thinking about it every day until I go back next weekend. Service was great, plenty of seating, and free parking. Easy stop on your way to Folly on the weekend too! They even had a cute little free library set up for kids out front. Perfect spot to bring your littles to for an outdoor meal!
Jessica H — Google review
This is the James Island experience. You have to get something here so you can say you did it. It's overpriced, basic food from an old UPS truck. $3 for a 12 oz cup of coffee that you will drink as you wait for your food. Save yourself time and money and go to egger's Bagels or Krispy Kreme.
Jeff V — Google review
Every single pastry we have had has been INCREDIBLE in the Saturday pastry boxes! even the flavors that are not usually our favorite/wouldn’t usually order wow us! The quality, taste, and service blow us away!
Alexandra S — Google review
Friends of mine took me here for breakfast this morning and it was outstanding. Any reviewers who suggest Krispy Kreme as an alternative clearly have Krispy Kreme taste. Everything from this food truck is homemade and executed with attention to detail and great balance. Any mention of a wait from others makes sense, given that this is not a fast food restaurant and one person is making everything from scratch. Seems worth it to me to enjoy a great coffee and hang out. That being said, we patiently waited only about 5 minutes for our food, but happily would have sat longer. 10/10 recommend. Will be back.
Rachel W — Google review
Love supporting this small woman-owned business any time I’m in the area. I love the benne seed bagel, especially, and always get a treat for the road like a pop tart or gougère. Everything is flavorful and the bagels are so fresh I have trouble branching out but will try the breakfast burrito next time!

Olde Colony Bakery, located in Mount Pleasant, has been a beloved local institution since 1919. Their specialties include Charleston benne wafers, pecan pinches, and benne cheese zingers. These treats can be found in various local markets and stores. The bakery is also known for its generous support of the community, as evidenced by their donation of benne wafers to a school's robotics team.
Thank you so much to the kind folks at Olde Colony Bakery for donating 6 lbs of benne wafers to our school's robotics team! We needed to find something to represent the Charleston area when we headed to the World Championships in Texas and Olde Colony stepped up and gave us the benne wafers immediately when we asked. Thank you so much for supporting our students!!

I cannot recommend this place enough, they have the best cookies in the city. I don't live in Charleston any more, but I always have a stock of their cookies around. They are perfect and I love every one I try.
Georgia S — Google review
Found your Pecan cookies at the Charleston Market this summer when we were on vacation. These are my new favorite! I can't eat dairy so it's a rare cookie that works for me. Yours is amazing and my family fully agrees. We ordered 2 pounds for shipping back home. Yum.

We ordered 50 bags for our welcome boxes for our daughters wedding. They are delicious!
Susan A — Google review
I am originally from Charleston and LOVE the Benne Wafers made at this bakery. I have been eating them since I was a little girl. Unable to visit, I ordered a pound of the wafers and paid for expeditied shipping to get them as soon as possible (sooo good)! The delivery guy left the package out where animals got to it before I got home from work (life in the woods) and did not really offer to fix the problem. I called the bakery and they IMMEDIATELY overnighted me replacement cookies. I was THRILLED to receive such amazing service on top of the already delicious baked goods!!

The ginger cookies are the best! I have them shipped to Massachusetts and they do an amazing job wrapping and protecting them from breakage. Nothing better with a cup of tea! Yum! Thank you Olde Colony Bakery!!! Keep on baking!
