Seafood restaurant
The Darling Oyster Bar, located on King Street, is a stylish and trendy restaurant with a vintage appeal. The dining room has a gorgeous vintage-style design and features a lively raw bar that offers an array of creative seafood dishes and raw oysters from across the Eastern Seaboard. The menu includes popular seafood dishes like hand-cut French fries topped with house-made clam chowder. The restaurant also offers local beers and sparkling wines to accompany the briny bivalves.
So simple but so much better than simple. Shrimp cocktail with perfect seasoning. The lobster roll was full of large chunks of seasoned meat. The crab cakes were literally the best I’ve had in a really long time. Don’t sleep on the hush puppies and the sorghum butter. Service was on par with other high end restaurants without feeling fancy. Simple but perfect.

The Darling Oyster Bar had such amazing food! It was my first time trying raw oysters, and they were so good! It's really worth trying to stop in during their happy hour to get the discounted oysters. I got their fry basket with fried shrimp and fried oysters. The shrimp was fried differently from what I've had before, and it was amazing! We also got the crab dip to start, and it was good as well. They had a Mexican style cheesecake as one of their desserts. It was so good and had a lot of citrus on it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because our server was not very attentive. She rarely came to check on us, while the other servers were attentive to their tables. Everything else was amazing, and we had such a great time!
Beth R — Google review
Slid in at happy hour and took a spot at the bar. Quick and friendly service for oysters, crab dip, and a green salad. James River VA oysters happy hour priced for just $1 ea. plus a nice mix of regional oysters. The crab dip is a must. The salad had a nice dressing with crispy bread crumbs mixed throughout. Carrots, radishes, cucumbers sliced thin so they add to, not overwhelm. My Negroni was quite possibly the best I've had, and my wife enjoyed the Pear 75.
Bruce J — Google review
Not just oysters, but a good and interesting full menu. Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The food was great, The oysters of course were delicious, the service delightful and I even found a beer that I liked (not just overpowered IPAs or tasteless thin lagers!!) Would definitely dine here again.
Alan M — Google review
A delicious dining experience. Top notch service. The oysters were good and the peel & eat shrimp were top notch. Scallops were hands down best dish. The shrimp and grits were good, not great. Want to try the fresh catch next time it looked quite good.
Christopher G — Google review
Excellent experience from start to finish. My reserved table was ready upon arrival, friendly and attentive staff provided outstanding service, all my dishes (fresh oysters, clam chowder, fried shrimp) were outstanding. Highly recommend this terrific restaurant!
Navy C — Google review
The oysters were stellar. And this review I want to applaud and praise whoever is responsible for the draft beer, it is the best I have had anywhere in the city. So many things can go wrong, pressure, insulation, length of line from keg to tap, etc, etc. local hazy ipa was perfect. Crisp, clean, proper head, impeccable lacing. Thank you for not just taking my money, but ensuring I had a great draft beer. Respect 🫡

The experience here was soooo good we went back a second time...that is saying something given the excellent food scene in Charleston. The fried oysters and shrimp basket was simply incredible! Best cooked fried shrimp and oysters of my life; yes I had them both times we visited...they were that good

Cocktail bar
Pearlz Oyster Bar is a relaxed and light-filled eatery with outdoor seating, offering classic seafood, raw bites, and burgers. With two locations in Charleston, this eclectic oyster bar features a hearty list of oyster-centric dishes and snacks that locals crave. From signature oyster shooters to crispy oyster tacos with shredded lettuce and Tabasco aioli, the menu offers a variety of options. The full raw bar includes local and Gulf oysters as well as locally caught seafood.
We stopped in for some oysters, apps, and rinks. I didn’t order a drink this time around but my friends did. They have a full bar, beer on tap, wine, and spirits. It’s very casual, with bar, booths, and table top seating. We tried a few different oysters of the day. our favorite were the gay boy and pink moon oysters. The fish dip with smoked salmon was incredible, we wanted more after it was gone and talked about it later that day. Overall, great casual place. Prices are reasonable.

Amazing spot for fresh oysters in the area! We stopped by and the staff was super friendly including the hostess from NY! hello!! The spicey tequila cucumber is my new favorite drink and all of the staff was super friendly! Event the guy shocking, the oysters was awesome! Definitely need to check this place out as the oyster selection was great and the entrées were super fresh and delicious! The entree with the 4 different fish was delicious! All were cooked perfectly! Forgot the name but it was a special We will be back for sure!

I’m coming here for the delicious fresh oysters and seafood dishes with great wine choices. Loved the seafood pasta, and it was my first time trying the shrimp & grits - and I loved it! Everything was spot on
Paulina Z — Google review
Pearlz is the gold standard for oyster bars in Charleston. Period. The oysters were fresh and briny, the cocktails were perfectly balanced, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The place has that perfect mix of classy and casual—dim lighting, a buzzing bar, and staff who actually know their seafood. Now, for the unforgettable part of the night… As I’m enjoying my oysters, a guest a couple seats down—full of energy and clearly having a great time—goes in on her fries with a bottle of ketchup. What happened next felt like a slow-motion movie scene: the ketchup bottle let out a surge, and a red streak of sauce shot across the bar like a Fourth of July firework. It hit the bar, splashed on menus, even the wall got a little love. People were stunned for a second, then the whole section burst into laughter—including her. She owned the moment like a champ, laughing along with everyone else. It was the kind of spontaneous chaos that turns dinner into a memory. Bottom line: come for the oysters, stay for the atmosphere—and maybe keep an eye on the ketchup.

Such a great spot! Tasty food, super friendly staff. I had the fresh catch ceviche and the Spanish-style octopus — both amazing. Totally recommend!
Anna — Google review
Few great dishes, most were solid. The best were crab dip and the clams, delicious. The shrimp were a bit flabby. The oysters were good. The octopus dish was not quite cohesive, but cooked well. Great service.
Christopher G — Google review
If you’re craving seafood in Charleston, Pearlz is a pretty solid choice, though it comes with a few quirks. Let me set the scene: My husband isn’t the biggest fan of seafood (bless him), so he was really taking one for the team when we ventured here. Plus, we were escaping the dreaded heat advisory with our pup, and the welcoming vibe at Pearlz made the experience a bit more enjoyable. We were seated at a window bar, which turned out to be a pretty cute spot—enough to distract from the sweltering heat outside. I kicked things off with a rosé and he opted for a Pilsner. Now, I love me a good glass of wine, but when it arrived, I couldn’t help but notice that the glass was… well, shall we say, over-polished? The glass looked clean, but the poor thing was covered in fluff, and as much as I’d like to be polite, I rubbed my fingers around the rim and flicked the fluff away. I didn’t have the patience to mention it to the waiter, mainly because we didn’t see her for a while, and it was already in the drink and honestly, it wasn’t the biggest issue—just a little awkward. Now, onto the food—things started off a bit bumpy. I ordered the varietal oysters and one topped with caviar, which sounded like heaven to me. But, as luck would have it, there was a hair on my oysters when they arrived. I politely mentioned it to our waitress, and to her credit, she quickly took them back and assured us she’d bring a fresh tray. While I was disappointed, I appreciated the quick action. As for the rest of the meal, I was thoroughly impressed with the Brussels sprouts. Roasted to perfection, they were crisp on the outside and soft inside, with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan that made them irresistible. A definite must-order. And then, the surprise of the evening: the burger. My husband is somewhat of a burger connoisseur, and we honestly didn’t expect much from a seafood-focused restaurant. But this burger? It was phenomenal. A little salty, a touch sweet from the sauce, and cooked just right. We were both thoroughly impressed and will be dreaming of it for days to come. When my oysters returned, they were perfect. Creamy, fresh, and absolutely divine—well worth the minor hiccup. The best part? The manager came by to apologize for the hair incident and took the oysters off our bill, which we thought was a classy and thoughtful gesture. Overall, we left Pearlz happy and satisfied. Despite the minor mishaps, the food, especially that burger, more than made up for it. And with the manager’s thoughtful gesture, we definitely felt valued as guests. We'll definitely be back for more oysters, Brussels sprouts, and that incredible burger. Would I recommend Pearlz? Absolutely! Just maybe wipe your glass before diving into that rosé.

Nice ambiance, nice staff. Got the FISH & CHIPS ($19.95) and the NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL ($29.95). The FISH & CHIPS had good fresh tasting cod. The NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL had a few good chunks of lobster, but was in a disappointingly small bun (as seen in picture). Also, had some inedible green seaweed on plate as a garnish (another space filler, but inedible) Plate wasn’t worth $30 in my opinion and would not order again. The chips (French fries) were plain pretty plain, no special taste or texture. Not bad, but just felt like necessary filler for the plate. I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately because of the portion size for the price wouldn’t recommend it.

Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar is a must-visit destination for seafood enthusiasts in downtown Charleston, SC. Nestled in the vibrant heart of the city, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere with its charming brick walls and clubby vibe. The menu showcases a delightful array of fresh, local seafood that highlights the essence of Lowcountry cuisine.
Great place, awesome location and wonderful service. The shrimp were cooked perfect, tons of flavor. Oysters top notch, topsail were my favorite. If you have kids, definitely try a bite of Fry's or mac & cheese...both were delicious. The shrimp and grits was dynamite and nice sized portion. Only critic was the crab cakes a little dry, but packed with flavor.
Christopher G — Google review
The location is in the heart of Charl. The exterior and the feel when you walk in are nice. The tables are very small, and the waiters are always on their toes when two dishes arrive. I recommend not going without a reservation. Generally, the food, and of course the oysters, were good. However, the cocktails were abysmal. They were very simple, flavorless, and lacking in attention. Even though our son took some great photos, don't let them fool you. :)) The prices are quite high. I'd say it's in the middle of the price-performance ratio.
Özden O — Google review
Had a great time! My husband said the raw oysters were the best he's had since we arrived in Charleston. I enjoyed the peach salad with the catch of the day, which was halibut. It was cooked perfectly!
Chrystal S — Google review
We came here for dinner to celebrate my friend’s birthday after looking at their menu. It was a really nice day out so we opted to sit outside. We started with the calamari steak cut and it was pretty good, but felt like it could’ve been crispier but based on how they were cut like “steak fries” it was more on the soft side. The crab cakes with mash potatoes were bigger than I expected. The mash was a touch too salty for me, on top of the already savory crab cakes and sauce so it was a little over powering although the flavors were good. My favorite dish was the risotto with seared scallops. They had the perfect sear and texture along with the creamy risotto. Our server checked on us from time to time but we didn’t converse with her much. We didn’t get offered anything for her bday and it wasn’t a super special experience but the service was still good in terms of how everything was paced and our waters stayed refilled.
Nina C — Google review
I had been recommended to this restaurant by a couple of people, so I stopped by for a brunch. The staff are friendly but seemed confused a little, perhaps because they had just opened up, not sure. The seafood tower was good but not great. Some of the shrimp were mushy and over cooked. The fish sandwich (not shown), was good, however it seemed to take a time to bring to the table, that was ok, but then the French fries came separately and 10 minutes later, so I guess the kitchen messed up. The shrimp corn dogs were good and worth ordering. They have a nice oyster bar and the oysters on the tower seemed fresh and good flavor.
Mark A — Google review
Extremely delicious food and courteous service! Shrimp corn dog, margaritas and the greens were excellent. Our server Ashley made good recommendations and was very professional. Will definitely return!!

Visited Amen with a friend on a vacation…the food was out of this world! We had the shrimp and grits, shrimp po boy and key lime pie. All of the food was outstanding, with complex flavors and perfect textures. We also had the peach Bellini and a mocktail that was excellent! Server was friendly and personable and my water was kept full!

Chill casual atmosphere. Great food. I got the crab cake sandwich which was perfect. The grilled bun and lump crab was perfect. Don’t miss the hush puppies served with cinnamon butter!!

Raw Lab, located on 193 King St. in Charleston, offers a unique dining experience that is more like attending a show than traditional fine dining. The restaurant serves oysters and provides gluten-free options for those looking to eat like a local. With seating for 12 people, diners can expect an interactive experience and the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone while enjoying the passionate and knowledgeable presentation by Kevin.
Incredible food and wine pairings but what made it amazing was Kevin and the charisma and talent he has. Be prepared to have a lot of fun and get out of reality for a bit!!! Once in a lifetime experience.
Madison L — Google review
This is an educating, enjoyable and tasty multi-course experience you have to try when in Charleston. This is not your typical dining experience, it's a new kind of dinner theater. I believe the menu changes regularly - our experience was centered around oysters, caviar, raw seafood combined with salts from around the world and lots of wine. We learned that we've been eating oysters and caviar wrong for years, and were introduced to a variety of salts on raw dishes that was amazing. I try to stay away from salt, but learned I just need the right kind on my food. I'd highly recommend the experience for couples and small groups - there is limited seating so reservations are a must. Also, make sure your paying attention. It's interactive, but you don't want to be that person interrupting/ talking over the chef.. a little self-awareness and the right attitude make Rawl Lab an awesome night!
Patrick O — Google review
Still buzzing from the amazing night at Raw Lab last night! From the food to the lighting, music, vibes I can not recommend this experience enough! Every single part of last night was 5 stars! Kevin is such an amazing, chef, dj, comedian all in one! The energy in the room was immaculate thanks to Kevin and Sandy and everyone was friends by the time the 4 hours was over! If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience- BOOK THIS! Worth every penny
Marina G — Google review
This was the best night of my life. We are such foodies and to have THIS kind of experience was literally killer. We had the most enjoyable and entertaining 5 hours, being enveloped in music, delicacies, so many wine pairings, and the electric atmosphere. If you’re reading this, go! You will not be disappointed. We learned so much and we’re encouraged to be able to add a lot of these techniques and thoughts into our own repertoire at home. Kevin and Sandy - BRAVO! I’d give this 100 stars (or oysters) if I could. Bangin’ good time.
Alex A — Google review
Kevin’s presentation and servings are wonderful, magical and extraordinary. You really have to experience it to appreciate all that goes into this very unique experience of seafood and entrainment that will dazzle your visual and auditory senses along with your palate. From uniquely dressing oysters and salmon and more with his own home made accoutrements to the simplicity and complexity of understanding how to make sure your palate is busting with happiness he is truly the Maestro. My wife and I are foodies and have traveled quite a bit internationally and domestically and we have never experienced an evening of dining like the Raw Lab. We have had the pleasure to enjoy the experience 3 times now and each experience was wonderfully unique in its own way. Get ready for a really fun evening of delicacies for both your stomach and your mind that you will not forget. And remember to “Release the Hounds” ! Bravo Kevin and Sandy !

Worth every penny. Caviar bumps, world class oyster service, excellent wine pairings, fantastic atmosphere and service. If you’re looking for a unique and delicious way to spend an evening in Charleston, do yourself a favor and book a seat.
Thomas B — Google review
We did the Oyster and Caviar Masterclass and had an absolute blast! I’ve had my fair share of oysters and caviar, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually appreciated the intricacies of flavor until this class. Kevin was very knowledgeable and presented so many great flavor pairings for the evening, along with wine pairings. If we didn’t live 1200 miles away, I would be back every week for the Raw Lab experience! Thank you for a great evening and we wish you the best!
Emily G — Google review
Awesome seafood personally prepared and served right in front of you. Kevin was very thorough explaining what he wants you to experience while eating each course paired with a different wine. A learning experience with plenty of food and wine served as an entertaining show. The music is loud at times, but adds to the fun. The website describes exactly what your night will be like.

Restaurant
The Ordinary is a trendy seafood restaurant located in a 1920s bank building on Upper King Street. Since its opening in 2012, it has been a pioneer in the raw bar trend in Charleston. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes including oysters, crudo, caviar, and fish-head gumbo. It also boasts a rum-centric focus with an array of cocktail classics and house specialties.
It’s hard to live up to hype but The Ordinary delivered. Great service and delicious food and drinks. Loved the room - we were a group of 5 that sat upstairs overlooking the dining room. Get the oyster sliders, steak tartar and smoked oysters.

I wish all the ordinary will be like this place. Fresh oysters, dishes done for perfection, everything in each dish is needed. Attentive service, great cocktails. Highly recommended
Maya K — Google review
Our server, Alison, was very knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance and impeccable service throughout our dining experience. Started with the fish cake. Very light and tasty. I had the Red Snapper, so many flavors. Every bite was heaven. My wife, had the Waygu steak with mushrooms, so delicious! Usually, I am leery of going to a seafood restaurant and ordering anything other than seafood but in this case, I would not hesitate ordering the steak! For a side we went with their seasonal rice dish. So many flavors For dessert we had the Pannacotta paired with a glass of white port wine and Chocolate Hazelnut pot de creme paired with a tawny port. We savored every bite and enjoyed this dining experience, from start to finish.
Scott — Google review
We received a very generous gift certificate to The Ordinary as a wedding gift, as we were visiting Charleston on our honeymoon, and we had a wonderful and memorable dining experience from start to finish! We were impressed from the moment we were seated. The restaurant and bar spaces were expansive with huge windows and soaring ceilings, and beautifully decorated. We were welcomed at our table by a little handwritten card wishing us “congratulations,” and our server, Allison, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful. After delivering our cocktails and complimentary bubbles, she offered to take our photo and proceeded to arrange not only our seating but the items on the table to ensure a very nice shot! Our cocktails were uniquely crafted and very enjoyable, not too heavy or sweet. My husband ordered the crab cake appetizer and the snapper for his main course. I ordered the Wagyu Steak Diane and we shared a side of the seasonal rice (without the shrimp) - every bite of food was so flavorful! We paired our desserts with a white and a tawny port. Fabulous dinner and dining experience. I imagine it’s often said: anything BUT ordinary!
Elizabeth A — Google review
One of the top experiences I’ve had in Charleston. Our server was friendly and helped answer a lot of questions that we had. We started off with a dozen oysters that may have been the most fresh and delicious I’ve had in town. We could’ve easily had a dozen each by ourselves. Loved their wine selections and had 3 throughout the courses we had. I’ve had bolognese and pappardelle so many times but man this one was absolutely perfect. The pasta was thin but cooked so well and held all the delicious meat and sauce in every bite. We got the snapper with mustard although I don’t usually like mustard but our server said it’s very mild in flavor. So glad we got it because it was amazing. Fish was crispy on the outside, flaky yet soft. And when you scooped it up with the corn and sauce, it was so satisfying. Towards the end we got to meet one of the managers that had been there for several years, and he told us about the history of the building and it being an old bank which I thought was super cool. The layout of the restaurant with multiple floors and just bustling with energy. We thoroughly enjoyed everything!
Nina C — Google review
Had an okay experience at The Ordinary. I thought most of our food was generally good, but my grouper was overcooked. For close to a $50 entree, I expected flawless. Cool atmosphere and great service, but the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. Definitely time to refresh your furniture!
Mark S — Google review
Wish I would have been in town for lobster roll night. Grabbed a seat at the bar without reservation. The staff struck just the right balance of attentiveness without intrusiveness and were quick to give an honest opinion or recommendation when asked — which I appreciate. Though it wasn’t what I originally wanted the seafood chowder was really something to savor. It came out piping hot, as it should, but often doesn’t at other places and had a delicate balance of thoughtful flavors. It was smaller than expected but perfectly satisfying with hearty chunks of seafood you did not have to search for. The apple tart was a little too French for my preference. Too much almond extract not enough apple. The rum ice cream was great. That alone would have made a perfect end to the evening. I’ll definitely plan another visit with reservation and hope to make on a lobster roll night.

Very good food and ambience. The smoked oyster and oyster sliders were elite. Everything else was very good — the crudo, amberjack and dessert.

Seafood market
Located in downtown Charleston within the historic Cigar Factory, Rappahannock Oyster Bar is a vibrant seafood restaurant known for its extensive selection of oysters and hearty entrees. The restaurant features a striking 40-seat copper bar where guests can enjoy cocktails and wine. Chef Kevin Kelly curates a diverse menu that includes classic seafood dishes, vegan options, as well as pork, chicken, and beef.
We started off with the Seafood Tower: fresh, delicious, and filling. It gave us a great array of food and things to try. I especially enjoyed the chilled shrimp and the cocktail sauce. The Rappahannock Oysters were some of the best I have ever had. For our main dishes we tried the fish, spaghetti and clams, and the Caesar wedge. One thing I also noticed was how reasonably priced everything was. If you are looking for something on the less expensive side they have shrimp and grits, a burger, and more under $25. Overall a great dinner. 🦪 Recommendations: Crab Dip, Rappahannock Oysters, Chilled Shrimp

I wanted to give more credit to this restaurant because it was Mother’s Day when I went. I have been considering how to review for months now and I have made the determination that there were too many glaring issues to rate any higher than a 3 star rating. Ultimately I decided that with how expensive the food is I would expect better food and service. We were a larger group and we had horribly slow service. Multiple people had cold food, our appetizers came out way later than our main dishes. Someone in my group ended up having to speak to a manager about all the issues we had. The experience was truly lack luster in every capacity. The only credit I could give is that the ambiance was on par with a lively raw bar. I would not recommend.

Had a nice dinner here. Shared the raw Oysters which were quite good, pan-seared fish, short ribs, and the bread service. The short ribs stole the show and unfortunately overwhelmed the more delicate fish in comparison. The bread service was okay, bread itself was nice but the flavored butters were forgettable and inferior to dipping in the food sauces. Minor criticisms as the overall meal and drinks were quite good.

Excellent service and a laid-back vibe in historic Charleston, South Carolina. I sat at the bar and received quick service. I chose the shrimp and grits, which had a unique twist on the classic dish. I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere captured Charleston's rustic charm. There was ample seating and parking, and the surrounding area was very walkable.

Located in the old cigar factory Rappahannock oyster bar has old brick walls and a wonderful lively atmosphere. On a beautiful night we like to dine on the outdoor patio and enjoy the water view.

Decided this spot was going to be my dinner after a long drive and man it didn’t disappoint. Doesn’t get better with an oyster special going on, a cold beer and a bomb.com clam French onion soup. Bartender was on point and staff was friendly. Highly recommend 👌

It’s sad to say, but this place has really gone downhill over the past year, and last night was a clear reminder of that. The fish Milanese was absolutely awful. It was supposed to be grouper, but the filet was cut so thin thinner than a pancake and completely soaked in grease. It was inedible. Even our waitress agreed she’d never seen it served that way before. The rest of the table’s food was slightly better, but still not worth the price. Unfortunately, I’ll be going elsewhere for my oysters and fish from now on. I also noticed that Kyle, the longtime manager, is no longer there, which is a shame he was a real staple since the opening. This place used to be packed, but after last night’s experience and seeing so many empty seats, I can’t say I’m surprised. At this rate, I’m not sure how much longer they’ll last.

Came for dinner. Loved the location and design of this restored complex. I also like the design and layout of the restaurant. The overall experience was better than ok but it definitely could have been better. Food was good but not great. Don’t order the steak. Now, the Oysters actually where excellent and the presentation. Loved the Shrimp and Grits as well. I would need to return and give it a second chance. Unfortunately we visited midweek after New Year on a rainy night so the restaurant was slow so their was no ambiance. But the most important is the food. I will return on my next trip and try other things that we where recommended. The best thing about this evening was our server. She was excellent and very engaging and had a great personality. I think this place is more fit for an afternoon late lunch or a happy hour for seafood and Oysters rather than a dinner.

Delaney Oyster House is a charming seafood restaurant and raw bar located in a historic house in Charleston. Chef Shamil Velazquez, originally from Puerto Rico, skillfully combines island flavors with fresh seafood from Lowcountry waters. The restaurant offers a cozy and special dining experience, serving oysters with a Lowcountry twist and featuring a full raw bar for lunch and dinner.
We made the right choice celebrating our anniversary here tonight! Greeted by a beautiful Charleston style house, we felt welcomed as soon as we arrived, we were seated in a (perfect temperature) dining room of our own at a cozy table with a personalized touch of a "Happy Anniversary" card. Our server was attentive and helpful without being too much or too absent, he was really pleasant, we requested 6 different options to be brought out however he chose. We started with the waygu beef tartare followed by the spicy tuna tartare, while the waygu was good, that spicy tuna was absolutely perfect, best I've ever had! Next we enjoyed the crispy brussel sprouts and the spicy shrimp ajillo, both were very delicious! Lastly we had the NB scallops that were cooked perfectly and the waygu bavette steak that was tender and flavorful. Overall, this was just such an enjoyable and tasty experience, highly recommend to anyone!

Exceptional Cocktails and Fresh Oysters at Delaney Oyster House We had dinner at Delaney Oyster House with a party of four and a reservation. We were seated promptly upstairs on the outdoor piazza, which offered a lovely and charming atmosphere. It was a bit warm given the time of day, but still a pleasant spot to enjoy the meal and the Charleston vibe. The oysters were excellent, fresh, briny, and perfectly prepared. One of our entrées, the crispy fish platter, was good, but the real highlight of the evening was the cocktails. The bartender clearly had real talent. We ordered the espresso martinis called “The Famous” and they were truly the best any of us have ever had. Delaney Oyster House delivers a refined yet relaxed dining experience with standout seafood and an exceptional cocktail program. Definitely worth a visit especially if you enjoy great drinks and fresh oysters in a classic Charleston setting.

The food has such a beautiful femininity to it. It tastes like history and depth, and the complexity of balanced hard work. Breathtaking takes on traditional southern flavors. Amazing service! The waiter was so knowledgeable on each plate and he seemed to be inspired by the food as well. Cohesion, sophistication, beauty. 10/10 will return

We took advantage of outdoor dining season in Charleston with dinner on the piazza before the Symphony. If tomatoes are in season, definitely get the tomato & buratta salad - scrumptious! The blue crab rice was delicious, as were the added scallops. It was a perfect evening

Had an amazing dinner at Delaney Oyster House! The service was top-notch—everyone was super friendly, welcoming, and really knowledgeable about the menu, which made the whole experience even better. We started with oysters, and they were incredibly fresh and well-shucked. I also tried the new celery & pear soup and was blown away. It had a perfectly balanced, creamy texture with a soft aroma and the gentle sweetness of pear that made this seasonal dish truly unique. The lobster roll was not only delicious, but it had way bigger chunks of lobster than other places I’ve been to locally. You could really taste the quality and freshness. Overall, great atmosphere, excellent service, and standout dishes. Can’t wait to come back!

We had the most wonderful dining experience at Delaney Oyster House in Charleston. It was recommended by the hotel staff, and it truly lived up to its name. The restaurant is set inside a beautifully restored historic home that feels both elegant and intimate, with soft lighting and a charming Southern warmth that immediately draws you in. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the hostess, whose presence set the tone for the evening. It wasn’t just her smile, it was her essence. She carried a natural warmth and grace that made us feel like guests in someone’s home rather than patrons in a restaurant. Our waitress was equally exceptional. She was attentive, kind, and deeply knowledgeable not only about the menu but also about the town itself. Her thoughtful recommendations and easy conversation made the entire experience feel personal. I always love when a server creates that sense of comfort, and she did it effortlessly. We began the evening with a fernet, which was exactly what I was craving and set the perfect tone for the meal. From there, we took our time and savored each dish. We ordered the spicy shrimp ajillo, the spicy tuna tartare, the peel and eat shrimp, and the steak and scallops. The spicy shrimp ajillo was so good that we ended up ordering it twice. The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, coated in a rich, flavorful sauce with just the right touch of spice. The spicy tuna tartare was vibrant and fresh, beautifully balanced in flavor and texture. The peel and eat shrimp were also delicious, though if I had to choose, I’d go for the spicy shrimp ajillo again without hesitation. The steak and scallops were exceptional. The steak was tender, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor, while the scallops were seared to perfection, buttery and delicate. You could truly taste the love and care the chef puts into every plate. Each dish felt intentional and crafted with heart, the kind of food that makes you pause between bites and simply enjoy the moment. We paired our meal with dirty martinis made with Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin, which were smooth, crisp, and perfectly balanced. It all came together for a dining experience that felt unhurried and special. Delaney Oyster House is more than just a restaurant. It’s an experience that blends Southern charm, thoughtful service, and exceptional food in a setting that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left, and one I’ll happily return to again and again.

I came here again for our anniversary because I loved it when I visited two years ago. Some items on the menu have changed, but the food is still just as delicious and unique. The oyster and sauce combinations were amazing, and the crab fried rice was absolutely the best👍

Fresh, Flavorful, and Indulgent The crab rice was packed with flavor — tender crab woven through aromatic sofrito and perfectly cooked rice. The spicy shrimp was incredibly fresh, with just the right kick. And the cheddar bay hush puppies? Absolute indulgence — crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and dripping with chive-studded, caramelized onion butter. A must-visit for anyone who loves seafood

In addition to traditional seafood options, they also offer innovative dishes like the oyster slider or wrap and baked Oyster Rockefeller.
We sat outside. The weather was wonderful. Nice and breezy with fans outdoors. We had the sea bass and shrimp and grits. Both were excellent. Our server, Jerrod, was busy but attentive. We would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful dining experience and I highly recommend this spot, especially if you love oysters! The Bluepoint Oysters were absolutely delicious and, as always, a total hit, a must-order item! We also enjoyed trying the Steamboat Oysters but they were bigger than we liked but still good and found the Lavender Spritz drink to be a pleasant surprise (in a good way!). While the Fire Roasted Oysters weren't to our liking and we sent them back, the rest of the meal was excellent. Most importantly, our waiter was super nice and attentive, which really made the evening a pleasure.

Great spot in the heart of Charleston! The atmosphere and service were excellent, and the food did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the crab pot…fresh, flavorful and perfectly cooked. They also have a great beer list with plenty of options to pair with seafood. If the weather’s nice, grab a seat on the patio - it’s perfect for people-watching and soaking in the downtown Charleston energy. Overall, a great experience and one I’d definitely come back for.

Visiting Charleston from Northern VA, we were hunting for a local dinner spot & came across this place. While reading the menu, a gentleman walked out & said "eat here, it's great." I was sold & glad too, because he wasn't lying. We sat at the bar for happy hour & tried the James River oysters. The staff was friendly, laid back & kind. The whole restaurant had positive, warm vibes. The seafood was excellent. I paired it with a white wine based on our server's suggestion & it was just right. We struck up a conversation with the gentleman shucking oysters at the bar. He was such a sweetheart & offered tips on some of the best haunts in Charleston. The overall experience was stellar & I'm so grateful! Thanks guys!

Always have a great time when at O-Bar! By ourselves or with family and friends, we are always treated with happy faces and smiles and great customer service. We always sit at the bar and enjoy the oysters. They recommend the best ones and appreciate it. Hush puppies are great, on the sweeter side and more like a dessert but are really good. The sea bass plate is amazing and the grilled scallops and shrimp are really good. If you can switch out the redfish from the plate I would recommend but overall this is our go to seafood place whenever we are in town!

Bowens Island Restaurant is a beloved waterfront eatery that has been serving up fresh seafood since 1946. Despite the loss of its original building in 2012, locals and visitors still flock to this spot between James Island and Folly Beach for its local seafood dishes and picturesque sunset views at the end of a gravel road. The restaurant is known for its authentic oyster roast experience, making it a popular venue for reunions, parties, and even wedding receptions.
The food was good, with a huge amount of shrimp on our fish and shrimp plate. The restaurant itself is rustic, mostly open air, and a great place if you like those kinds of places which we do. The sunset is awesome there, but get there early enough to get a good seat. Large bar area.

The food is all fried. But, if you like oysters this is your place. It has one of the best views for sunset. Plenty of parking and everyone is very nice. It really is a good place for all visitors to come- they also do kayak and boat tours from here. It’s South Carolina- for sure! It’s not a swanky place- casual clothes and bug spray!

A hidden gem! If there’s a long line, grab a beer and enjoy the views! Absolutely everything is delicious. The best fried seafood I’ve ever had (I’m not big on fried food). The fried shrimp and fish are amazing. The crab dip is fantastic. Crab cakes are huge and tasty. Can’t beat washing it down with a cold beer or cocktail, all perfect with the open air, marshy beach vibe. Beautiful location with 360 views, open and low key atmosphere. Enjoy the breeze while you wait for your food. Can’t recommend enough!

Best fried shrimp I've ever had, by far. Perfect combination of salt balancing the delicate sweetness of the shrimp with just a light coating of breading for crunch. The service...well...it matches the facilities. If you're looking for someone to shower you with praise or southern syrupy sweetness, this is not the restaurant you're looking for. If you want kickass seafood, come here.

Overall great experience. The staff was nice. I got the fish and shrimp platter. It was delicious and lightly battered. My husband got the seafood platter with 2 crab cakes, shrimp, and fish. My favorite was the fish, it was the best tender melt in your mouth flounder I ever tasted.
Darcell J — Google review
I was afraid to check it out after reading the negative reviews but I am glad I did. It was busy, waited in line to order and food took a little longer than I would have expected. Oysters on the half shell were great. Shrimp and grits were tasty. I found a quiet seat in the raw bar with a great view, which might have made it a little harder to find me and my number. Ontario in the raw bar was super friendly and took good care of everyone there.

Good, fresh seafood. You can tell the difference from this and most restaurants. Restaurant has a rustic, homey local vibe, not fancy. Good variety of choices, everything we had we enjoyed. Wish the slaw came in bigger cups!!

Cafeteria style, order at window, find a seat (no hostess), always busy and popular with the locals, because food is great, but limited local fish/shellfish menu. By the time you order, you can usually find a table, because tables turn over quite quickly. Beautiful spot off the beaten path, so worth the stop if you like seafood!

Very good! Must do in Charleston. Thomas was our server, Hailey was our bartender, and Rob is the manager. 'Hailgarita' was amazing. Coast is an amazing restaurant. It's location is quaint, down hutson alley in downtown Charleston. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wide range of fresh seafood, including the catch of the day. I only rated it lower because it seemed dirty. My table didn't even have salt and pepper at it. It almost felt like they didn't even wipe it in between the last people who ate there.
Devin H — Google review
We had dinner at Coast in Charleston. Sarah, our waitress, was very good — pleasant and easygoing. The renovated warehouse setting is really nice. We started with 6 Duxbury oysters, which were fresh and sweet, just as they should be. I ordered Sangria with dinner. The entrées were disappointing. I ordered the Baja tacos thinking they’d be beer-battered or grilled, but the fish seemed more steamed, and I couldn’t finish them. My husband had the grilled chicken with andouille sausage and jasmine rice, and the chicken was dry. We didn’t send anything back, just didn’t want to deal with it. Dinner for the two of us with tip was $110. Good service and atmosphere, but the food fell short.

We had dinner here and even though it was crowded, the service was really fast. Our server, Thomas, was very knowledgeable. The red snapper with mashed potatoes was delicious. The fish was very moist and mildly spicy. The seared scallops were amazing, cooked to perfection. The bacon cheese grits were tasty and didn’t have an overpowering taste of cheese.

Coast Bar & Grill is a hidden gem in Charleston! Tucked inside a historic warehouse, the space has that perfect mix of coastal charm and laid-back vibes. The seafood here is incredible—you can really taste the difference in the wood-grilled fish and oysters. Everything has this deep, smoky flavor thanks to their custom hickory and oak grill. We came by during happy hour (4:30–6PM daily at the bar) and it was such a good move—great drinks, solid bites, and a super chill atmosphere. The crab dip was a must-try—creamy, loaded with flavor, and served with grilled bread. We also had the salt & pepper calamari (so crispy and that sriracha aioli is no joke) and the crab soup, which was rich and comforting. For mains, I got the grilled spicy adobo shrimp with cheese grits and pineapple chili salsa—such a fun combo of sweet heat. My partner had the pan-seared scallops and hasn’t stopped talking about the bacon cheese grits and blue crab étouffée. We lucked out and caught live music in Hutson Alley with Ronnie Johnson—such a great local touch. Also, a nice bonus: they’re part of the Holy City Hospitality group, so you can earn rewards for dining here. Don’t skip dessert—the apple “fries” and chocolate mousse cake are the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. Can’t wait to come back!

Chubby Fish is a cozy seafood restaurant located in a warm neighborhood. The menu features an array of seafood dishes, complemented by an inventive wine selection and delectable desserts. In addition to the seafood offerings, the beef tartare with radish, nori, and ranch is highly recommended. The pricing is similar to another well-known establishment in the area but offers a more casual dining experience.
Absolutely incredible! Finally was able to go with a group of friends by having someone get in line at 4pm to get our name on the list for a later seating. Exceeded my high expectations. Every dish was so flavorful! I also enjoyed the wine list. Our waitress was helpful and service was paced well. Loved being able to share the dishes with the group. Highlights for me were the caviar sliders, the cauliflower and the tile fish curry, but everything was phenomenal. Easily one of the top meals I’ve had in Charleston.

Great meal at Chubby Fish! This place serves incredibly high-quality food and creative dishes. I definitely recommend the caviar sliders, curry oysters, and the bone marrow with fried shrimp. The service was attentive and the atmosphere lively, making it a fun spot for a night out. The only drawback is that it gets very loud inside, so it’s not the best choice if you want a quiet dinner or are with people you don’t know that well. Overall, it’s a must-try Charleston gem for adventurous seafood lovers!

Chubby Fish is such a gem! The service was amazing—our server was both attentive and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel special. The dishes were unique and thoughtfully prepared, with the concept of shareable plates making the meal even more fun and interactive. It felt like a true dining experience rather than just a dinner. On top of that, they were extremely accommodating of allergies within our group, which made us feel comfortable and cared for. Highly recommend if you’re looking for creative flavors, excellent service, and a memorable night out!

My fiancé and I visited Charleston to celebrate a very special week—my 40th birthday which my fiancé proposed to me on!—and Chubby Fish made it truly unforgettable. We dined there our first night in town and were absolutely blown away. After trying another well-reviewed restaurant the next evening and leaving feeling underwhelmed, we decided to return to Chubby Fish—and that decision turned everything around. The moment we walked in and mentioned our celebration, the staff treated us like royalty. Dani and Kate were beyond kind and attentive, making us feel like VIPs the entire evening. Every dish that came to our table was a masterpiece—fresh, innovative, and hands-down the best food we’ve ever had. And we don’t say that lightly. What really left a lasting impression was meeting the owner, James London. You could see how personally invested he is in every single dish. His passion and care are evident in every plate that leaves the kitchen. It’s rare to witness that kind of dedication, and it made the experience even more meaningful. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, buzzing with the kind of energy that tells you something special is happening here. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave—and certainly the kind of place we’ll never forget. Thank you, Chubby Fish, for making such an important moment in our lives even more magical. We can’t wait to come back.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. Simply amazing meal. Got in line an hour prior to open on a Thursday evening. Got a seat in the first seating. Proceeded to order until the server said "thats plenty", then ordered a little more. The caviar sammiches are a requirement. The gnudi was hands down the best pasta dish I've ever had in my life. The blue crab toast was magical, all that flavor but didn't over power the delicate lump crab. The lamb ribs were cooked absolutely perfectly. And many others. Well deserved success. Cheers!

What an outstanding experience! We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs in action—such a treat. Every dish that came out was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Highlights included the oysters, crudo, summer melon with pork belly, sardine toasts (served with phenomenal bread and butter), and the bone marrow with tempura shrimp. Every bite was excellent. We ended the meal with the “Not Fried Chicken” ice cream dessert—so fun and flavorful. The service was fantastic throughout. Be sure to arrive before their 5 PM opening and be ready to line up, as they don’t take reservations. Also worth checking out: the charming little bar next door called Seahorse. A perfect spot to enjoy a drink while you wait!

10/10 no notes. Usually i would write a detailed review of a great dining experience but for Chubby Fish I want to encourage everyone to experience for themselves while sharing my thoughts on how to make it the best time. Line up around 4:30 -4:45 outside the restaurant. As most readers might already know from research they do not take reservations ahead of time. The doors open at 5pm and depending where you are in line you can sit immediately or get a reservation for later. The smaller your party the more flexibility. Ask for a 6:30 reservation even if they have space to sit immediately, you’ll want that time to start next door at their cocktail bar Sea Horse. Telling them you’ll be next door if a table opens up before your reservation time you might get to sit early for Chubby Fish. Sea Horse has a thoughtfully designed cocktail list and wonderful small bites that’s a perfect warm up for your dinner. Once seated at Chubby Fish share as many dishes you can. The team is inviting, warm and exceptional at what they do. Follow this guide and you’ll have a memorable experience.

Our server, Josh, was amazing — he walked us through the menu, answered all our questions, and even brought out a tray of steaks to show us the different cuts. Everything was perfect from start to finish. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for the birthday. We’ll definitely be back to celebrate again!

Shawna was our server and she was absolutely outstanding! My mom, aunt, cousin, and I were in town visiting and this place came highly recommended — now we know why. Shawna was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the menu but also the history of the restaurant, which made the experience even better. We started with cups of French onion soup, and it was phenomenal. Two of us had the 8oz filet topped with Gorgonzola and a side of mushrooms and onions, while the other two ordered the scallops over risotto. The sides are served family-style, so we shared the loaded mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts — both amazing. For dessert, we split the crème brûlée and the cookie skillet, and everything was truly top tier. Halls Chophouse is an absolute must-stop when you’re in Charleston!

W O W! What a amazing dinner we enjoyed at Halls Chop House on King Street in historic downtown Charleston. We had heard from Charleston friends that Halls was legacy in Charleston. Well, Halls lived up and beyond it's over 40-year history of fine service and delicious cuisine. We made a Resy reservation for a Saturday night celebration dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. We were met at the front door by Billy Hall, who could not have been more gracious and welcoming - THANK YOU Sir. After a warm greeting we were seated in a quiet second floor rear small dining room in a great booth. We enjoyed watching the expert staff, bus boys/gals, to maitre d, Sommelier, to managers hover perfectly over the diner guest ensuring everything was to their expectation. Our server "Kai" (sp?) was FANTASTIC. We enjoyed a crisp bottle of white wine with the Sommelier's expert advice. With Kai's expertise, we order the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail (Prawns were 5-6") was fresh and excellent. Kai's steak presentation and information was quite helpful in our entree decisions. Our steaks were amazing and "perfectly" cooked. We ordered a Petite Cut Wet-Aged Filet Mignon as well as Kansas City Bone-In, 20 oz., Dry-Aged Strip - both Medium. Both steaks came with wonderful sauces Peppercorn Brandy and Halls Steak Sauce (our favorite). Our "Loaded Mashed Potatoes" side was huge and mouthwatering. After our entree's we enjoyed a wonderful three-flavors Sorbet which cleansed our palates and was a great digestif. We are 100% returning to Halls Chophouse on our next Charleston visit. Billy Hall and his staff (epitome of professionalism) sealed our decision. We are definitely making a Sunday "Gospel Brunch" Resy reservation next visit. We walked by Halls on Sunday afternoon and heard the amazing music of the Gospel Brunch - again wow how fun. Our dinner at Halls Chophouse was the finest meal we have enjoyed in many years. Well done Halls. See you soon. Cheers.

As a fine dining manager and food enthusiast visiting from Houston, I can confidently say Halls Chophouse is a masterclass in hospitality and execution. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly by the staff — and even welcomed personally by one of the co-owners. That level of engagement and presence in the dining room is something truly rare and speaks volumes about the culture they’ve built here. The restaurant was buzzing — packed with guests, filled with live music, and full of energy. Despite the lively ambiance, service remained attentive, polished, and genuine. Our server took the time to present the steak tray and explain each cut in detail — a thoughtful touch that shows pride and professionalism. Attention to detail in allergies and the servers pouring his heart in the service what sold me. I went with the Bison steak, accompanied by a she crab soup and multiple sides, and it was outstanding. Perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and easily one of the best steaks I’ve enjoyed in recent memory. If you prefer a quieter dining experience, I’d suggest requesting a table away from the music — but otherwise, lean into the vibrant atmosphere. Halls Chophouse represents everything a classic American steakhouse should be: warm hospitality, quality ingredients, and flawless execution. I’ll absolutely return whenever I’m in Charleston — this place sets the benchmark.

By far the best dining experience I've ever had in Charleston. The staff provided the warmest of welcomes and the owner was buzzing around interacting with customers all evening. Our waitress Amanda went above and beyond the whole evening. Marty was an absolute pleasure, and the sommelier was incredible knowledgeable. Overall I am wildly impressed. This will be a required stop every time I visit this beautiful city. I suggest you try it!!

Reservations necessary. We were there for dinner at 5:30 pm and it was already packed. Owner greeted us at the door, stopped at our table twice and said goodbye as we left. Impressive staff. Our waitress suggested half portions since we had nowhere to store leftovers. Even that amount was filling. I tried 2 local beers. My wife had 2 glasses of wine. We split the filet, baked potato, asparagus and salad.

Best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant! me and my bf celebrated our 5-year anniversary here, and it was our first time at Halls after hearing so many friends rave about it, and wow, they were right. The steak was insanely good, and every single thing we ordered was amazing. The service was top-tier – the staff came by several times to make sure we were happy and taken care of. We even got to meet Billy Hall, who was so kind and welcoming. We’ve been to a lot of restaurants for our anniversaries, but this one truly stands out. They make you feel special and celebrated from start to finish. Everything here is just that good.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday morning. Lunch menu had plenty of options including all the prime steaks on the dinner menu. Bartenders and hosts were very friendly and conversational. I returned the following Friday for she-crab soup and a wet-aged filet mignon. Absolutely delicious!

Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar is a sleek spot offering classic and contemporary Southern seafood fare in Charleston. Housed in a 1940s retired naval building, the restaurant celebrates the area's waterfront heritage with stunning views of Charleston Harbor. The menu features crowd-pleasers like shrimp and lobster-stuffed hushpuppies, and the restaurant is committed to sustainable seafood practices.
Went with hubby on a Monday for lunch. We had a reservation, but had to wait a wee bit for the table to be ready. We were seated outside and it was a glorious day for it. Tripp, our server, was awesome. He was attentive and prompt with answering questions, refilling water glasses and checking on us. For our starters we had the fried steak calamari and the snow crab claws and, omigosh, they were scrumptious!!!! For entrée, my hubby had the salmon with Carolina red rice and coleslaw while I had the catch of the day, Mahi with Carolina red rice and collard greens. I did not even leave a grain of rice on my plate; the dish blew my taste buds away. I also had a painkiller cocktail with lunch. I'm so glad we went to Fleet Landing. Can't wait to go back next time I visit South Carolina 🤗

Mary was an awesome server. Patient, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The good was excellent. Gumbo, She Crab Soup, seafood pasta all very tasty. The old fashioned was flavorful and done right. Great oyster selection.

Why in charleston wanted to try indifferent seafood restaurant..so we landed on fleet landing. There was construction going on. So had to park and walk. And it was an eye sore. We get there. We were greeted right away. They have in door and out door seating. If the temperature permits...I suggest outdoor. Or at least near the windows. They have nice views. Right on the water. The service was nice. No complaints.. food was brought out pretty quick. And tasted good. Prices were roughly 20 to 30 pp...on average. For a entree... but overall. It was decent it was good. No real complaints. I definitely reccomend this spot of you a seafood lover.

Our last day in Charleston. Came for lunch and didnt want to leave town until I had Gumbo or shrimp and grits. I got both! We also were incredibly surprised by the stuffed hush puppies! If the pictures had smellivision you'd know what I was talking about. 😆 My wife had shrimp on her ceasar salad and lastly this keylime pie was in our top 5 of all time. We will be back!!

She crab soup was delicious and a large portion for the price. Crab leg cocktail was good but it tasted like it was frozen, not fresh. Key lime pie was quite good. Service was good, not great, but they were also very busy. Still done with a smile and quite friendly.

My dad and I went here today for lunch and sat outside. Our server Andrew was great. He was on top of things and very polite and helpful, while also bringing his own personality to the service. He helped us pick out which varieties of raw oysters to get, all of which were great, and was very patient with my multitude of questions. I got the crab claw cocktail and my dad got the fried oyster platter, we both enjoyed our entrees immensely (the crab claw cocktail is not meant to be an entree but was just enough for me with the stuffed hushpuppies and oysters). I will say right now there’s construction happening next to the restaurant so be prepared for some of that noise if you choose to sit outside, but it didn’t take away from our experience at all.

Cannot speak highly enough about the staff of this restaurant! From the moment you walk in the hostess was incredibly kind and got us seated quickly at the Oyster bar! The three people running the bar were awesome all of them were great and wished us a happy anniversary! Highly recommend trying the tuna tartare and the key lime pie both are amazing!

Nice affordable seafood restaurant on the water. This place is situated on the water with beautiful views. I ordered the stuffed hush puppies and steak cut calamari. I didn’t care for the steak calamari but the stuffed hush puppies were delicious. The she crab was delicious but it wasn’t hot it was Luke warm. The fried seafood platter was delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was very friendly.

167 Raw Oyster Bar is a cozy and modern seafood restaurant located in the French Quarter. After relocating to a larger space on King Street, this eatery offers an expanded menu featuring oysters, lobster rolls, fish tacos, clam chowder, and tuna burgers. The raw bar showcases a daily selection of fresh oysters as well as roasted and fried oyster options.
Food was phenomenal. Was quoted 2 hour wait, ended up being about an hour and 45 mins which was a nice surprise! This place is absolutely worth the wait. Had some raw oysters and shrimp as a starter, came with 3 unique delicious sauces, so good! I had lobster roll and my friend had the seared scallops. Both were amazing! Best and most fresh lobster roll I have had in Charleston. Lastly we each had a Mexican chocolate pudding which was fantastic and decadent. Highly recommend this place and will come back again! Service was fairly decent as well! Thank yall so much for a great experience !

Sat at the bar for lunch. Got 6 Bayview Oysters which were the best we had on the trip by far. I had a lobster roll & wife lobster agnolotti. Both fantastic. A bottle of petite chablis & we were quite happy. Service was excellent and both bar tenders very friendly. This for sure is a top notch restaurant and great experience. A must go.

Oysters we're decent but definitely nothing to brag about. Most were salty but there was a decent selection. Other menu items were a bit limited seemed to be well liked by customers. Alcohol prices were way too high comparatively. Worth trying but expect to pay a premium for the name and experience

We’ve been coming to this oyster bar for several years now, and what amazes me is how they’ve stayed consistently great over time, which is pretty rare these days. The food is always delicious and fresh, the service is fast and attentive, and the prices remain really reasonable. It’s just an awesome spot if you want fresh oysters, a good taco, or any lobster dish—they’re truly incredible. Definitely check them out!

167 Raw Catering absolutely blew us (and our guests!) away. We received countless compliments — and several guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. If you’re looking for unforgettable food on your wedding day, 167 Raw is it.

Leon's is a laid-back eatery housed in a former body shop, where the industrial vibe meets a touch of art and comfort. The menu boasts Southern-style seafood, including raw, chargrilled, or casino-style oysters and crispy fried chicken. The unpretentious experience is emphasized by the absence of reservations - just walk in and enjoy the casual ambiance.
One of the best fried chicken we’ve ever had hands down - so good, I had to order it twice! We also got the char-grilled oysters, raw oysters, and Leon’s fish fry - they were all delicious! We highly recommend Leon’s if you like fried chicken!

The char grilled oysters were good and the fried chicken was EVERYTHING. The brussels could have been cooked longer and the hush puppies were bland without the butter. The cucumber salad was just okay. Our server was hospitable. We finally tried this place and overall it was a 3 out of 5. Now, go try it for yourself.

Everything was impeccable - food, vibe & service. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful bartender who was friendly and helpful, attentive yet chill. The food was spectacular - expertly prepared and beautifully presented. I had the shrimp roll with the chilled shrimp salad and can’t stop thinking about it. The textures and flavors were outstanding. I can definitely see why Leon’s was packed with a wait for lunch on a Friday at 12:30. A must-experience food destination in Charleston

I don't usually order fried chicken out... but when in Rome. I was not disappointed! We split chargrilled oysters, fried chicken sandwich and cucumber salad. That combined with the cool breeze on the covered patio, a perfect meal!

Had a fried chicken sandwich and the shrimp roll. Both were great. Service was great. Get there early cause this place got packed quick and stayed packed!!!

Leon’s is hands-down one of the most repeatable spots in Charleston. My friend and I have been coming here since we moved to town three years ago, and it’s never disappointed. The vibe is relaxed and cool (set in a converted old mechanic’s garage), the service is consistently great, and the food is outstanding. The fried chicken is a must, their oyster selection is always fresh, and the beer list is solid. But the real sleeper hit? The scalloped potatoes. Don’t skip them…they might be the best you’ll ever have. Leon’s is our go-to for out-of-town guests, and every single one has insisted on going back during future visits. Definitely a Charleston favorite.

NICO | Oysters + Seafood is an elegant seafood brasserie that offers a blend of French-inspired cuisine and market-fresh seafood. The restaurant, led by renowned Chef Nico Romo, presents a diverse menu featuring creatively prepared shellfish and seafood sourced from local providers. With its upscale yet welcoming ambiance, NICO showcases sleek steel exteriors and cozy interiors with wood paneling and exposed brick.
We had a delightful time here at NICO. We ordered drinks, oysters, entrées, and the crème brûlée dessert. The Wood-fired Napoleon oysters were just perfect! The lobster roll was exquisitely prepared — the best we’ve ever had. The crème brûlée was fired right in front of us to caramelize the sugar on top, and it tasted amazing. The bouillabaisse was alright — it was sparse on the seafood. We sat outside in the patio area. Other than a few mosquitos, it was a very pleasant experience sitting and enjoying our food and our company. I will definitely return to NICO in September for those oysters and that lobster roll!

What a great place: fabulous fresh oyster (served the way they should be: still attached and full of sea water), unusual quenelle (could use a tad of cayenne to enhance the taste) and a tasty peach tatin… Muscadef was very good too! Service was perfect: attentive and efficient!! We’ll be back!
Philippe M — Google review
It was a good dining experience. I sat at the bar and was taken care of fairly quickly and well during my visit. The cheese puffs were absolutely outstanding and remarkable. The Bouillabaisse was good - good variety of proteins and solid broth. It just felt like it was missing a little something (honestly it was good!). Great vibes and super chill place.

Worth every penny. I started with the Charred Octopus which amazing, then a half dozen of my customized order of oysters, they were great and tasted fresh. Then I had a cup of French onion soup it needs a pinch more of salt but it was good. For my main course I had the Duck Confit and a Old Fashion they were both spot on! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I literally tasted the value in my meal, the food was art and I loved it! This place is better than 95% of other places in a 12 mile radius.

Excellent menu, very attentive staff and great food. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if it's busy in the area, but we had no problem finding a spot adjacent to the restaurant. We enjoyed the oysters, scallops and shrimp. The wine selection was great and we loved the créme brûlèe. Highly recommend!

Our first time here. We tried a little of EVERYTHING. To put in perspective, we love Hall's Chophouse, O-Ku, Burwell's and loved the appetizers at Kersey House in the same restaurant group. We started with the caviar oyster. Delicious. Would get these again. Next we had the tuna tar tar. While it was ok, Hall's and O-Ku blow it out of the water. The shrimp cocktail was your normal, nothing crazy shrimp cocktail. Exactly what you'd expect out of a shrimp cocktail. The octopus was good. We'd definitely get this again. We planned to compare to Burwell's octopus, which is INCREDIBLE. The two are so different that it's not fair to compare. I'd say they're both delicious. The garnish/sauce with Nico's offers a sweet pairing and I appreciated an unexpected twist. We LOVE escargot and were excited to see them on the menu. Kersey House has amazing escargot so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, they were a huge disappointment. Not only did they have zero flavor, they were missing the baguette on top that's listed on the menu as part of the dish. That baguette is one of my favorite parts of Kersey House's escargot. This dish was desperately lacking in flavor and all of the ingredients. Next, main courses. My husband had the filet. I had the sea scallops. Now, if you've been to Hall's, my God you know the standard they set with their filets, both regular and bison filets. Let me start by saying that both the scallops and the filets were cooked to absolute perfection. However, not one ounce of seasoning or flavor could have possibly been added. Zero flavor. My scallops were served on top of white rice and peas. I let my husband try a bite and asked him what he tasted. His response, "white rice". That's awful. Such a disservice. You owe your customers more than to taste the flavor of white rice over what should be a decadent dish of scallops. Next, it was our anniversary. We chose your restaurant to spend celebrating. It was put in the notes on the reservation. At Hall's, you are immediately met with a glass of champagne. Yes, I've done the research. It's by no means an expensive glass of champagne. However, it is a thought that counts and goes far when making customers feel special, when choosing to celebrate their special days with you. The owner came around and not even an acknowledgement. Our server was new, yet extremely professional and attentive. He did an excellent job. All in all, if you're looking for good oysters in the Lowcountry, yes, I'd recommend Nico. Beyond that, I believe they leave a lot to be desired as far as fine dining goes. I'd highly recommend seeking other options. This was a missed opportunity to guarantee return customers.
Kristin D — Google review
The best meal we had in Charleston! We started with oysters and they were fresh, briny, meaty, and just yum. Entrees were scallops and lobster tail - both cooked to perfection. Sides were the cauliflower and scalloped potatoes - delicious! Parking on-site and easy to find.

My wife and I have been to Nico's other two local restaurants (Laura and Bistronomy) and found both to be worthy of 5 stars. No different with this location. Stopped in early to enjoy happy hour. Sat at the bar, ordered two house wine and a dozen oysters. Great quality priced right. Decided to order an entree to share. The special was a whole 2 lb yellow tail snapper which we shared. Fun sitting at the bar, chatting with the bartender enjoying top level food. Restaurant has indoor dining room and bar seating as well as outdoor bar and table seating. The outdoor seating is well protected from the elements. In fact this evening was exceptionally chilly but the outdoor area was toasty! Kudos to out bartender/ server Katie for helping to make this a truly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend

Great area to stop and get a bite, very near Shem Creek. Thought we get the kids some greasy bar food and enjoy a few pints. All I can say was for the price and service this place is a new favorite. Very fun and beautiful evening, there is traffic but it’s a low and slow Charleston feel.

The food was fine. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the service. I sat out on the patio and was disappointed by how long it took the bartender to come to my table. A couple of her friends came in and sat down at the table next to mine and she went over to them and chatted for a couple of minutes before she decided to ask me if I had been waited on. Why would she ask me? She was the only server out there. After taking my order and bringing me my drink I did not see her again until it was time to pay the bill. A different server, very friendly, brought me my food. It's a good thing I didn't need anything during my meal because she never once came over to ask how things were. While I was there I noticed another patron who was on the patio, get up and leave because nobody ever came over to wait on her. I've waited table and I can understand being busy but this server was not busy. She was spending her time talking to her friends at the bar.

Not great. Our food took well over an hour to come out after our appetizer. Our server was great and was very apologetic, and he was clearly embarrassed. He kept checking in and told us that the cook as well as most of the staff was new, but that that was not an excuse and he wanted to ask the manager to comp our food. We had not complained about the delay. The manager came by and was apologetic and offered to comp our appetizer, which really was the only thing we ate. When they finally came out my husband’s French Dip was cold and my burger was mediocre. I don’t know if they noticed that our plates were mostly untouched when we asked for the bill. I’d say skip this place unless you’re a local wanting a beer.

My boyfriend has been wanting to try the food here for a while, and we finally made it. We both had the mushroom swiss burger, just different sides. I have to say this is one of the best burgers I've ever had, and probably the best mushroom swiss. The Pretzel bites left something to be desired, but that's OK. I still ate them. Everything is much more reasonably priced than most restaurants around here. After reading reviews on here, I definitely want to try the shrimp next time!

Nestled at 64 Spring St., Bistronomy by Nico is a delightful French bistro that has quickly become a must-visit destination. Co-owned by culinary talents Nico Romo and Dominique Chantepie, this charming eatery emerged from the transformation of the former Josephine Wine Bar. The menu showcases an enticing blend of approachable French cuisine infused with Asian flavors, reflecting Romo's extensive experience in fine dining.
Everything was excellent. “Naked Fish” dish and honey cake were amazing, and their drinks were great especially the “Tequila Salad”. Ambiance was relaxed and classy — perfect for dinner with my mom and aunt. Our server Shelly was phenomenal. If you’re someone who wants to get away from the chaos of King, and have a truly exceptional and enjoyable dinner this is your spot.

We were worried at first when the restaurant was slow on a Saturday night but it got bustling! The patio had heaters (and fans when it’s warm) so it was very comfortable but the interior is a better environment. The food was overall good, but standouts were the ravioli starter, apple tart and short rib entree.

Great food, service and atmosphere. The bartender was also our server and she did an amazing job. We had an incredible experience with the chef's tasting menu — every course was thoughtful, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The wine pairings were spot on and really enhanced the flavors of each dish. What made the evening even more special was the personal touch: the chef came by after each course to check in and chat, which added such a warm, welcoming vibe. A big shoutout to the bartender as well — my friend wasn’t drinking, and she went above and beyond by crafting a unique mocktail pairing for each course. It was creative, flavorful, and just as carefully curated as the wine. From start to finish, the service was top-notch and the atmosphere was perfect. This was easily one of the best dinners I’ve had in Charleston in a long time. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend! We went for the secret tasting menu and had a wonderful experience. Every course was delicious, flavorful, and unique. A special thanks to the bartender (sorry I didn’t catch your name) for making mocktails for me instead of wine. The one with coconut milk and tonic was just perfect! I’m already looking forward to coming back to try dishes from the regular menu.

Celebrated our last night in Charleston at Bistronomy. We got the bone marrow, escargot, tartare, scallops and crème brûlée. Scallops (especially the coconut rice) and flavored-packed escargot were favorites. The only slight let down was the crème brûlée - sugar top was a little too burnt. Still very much recommend!

I ordered some edible flowers from Ann for an event during the Charleston Wine & Food last minute, and the flowers were exquisite! She hand cleaned 400 flowers and delivered them to us the next day (12 hours later!!!) Anne is communicative, very professional and her story is amazing. High recommend to any pastry chef, or bakery who is looking for wholesale edible flowers!

Charleston City Market is a historic 4-block market that has been around for over 200 years. It's a hub for local artisans selling sweetgrass baskets, leather goods, art, and more. The market also offers a variety of food options and fresh farm-to-table produce. The architectural significance of the buildings adds to the charm of this cultural hotspot. Visitors can explore the area and indulge in local cuisine at nearby eateries like Butcher and Bee or Home Team BBQ.
I recently visited the Charleston City Market during my trip to Charleston and really enjoyed the experience. The market is surprisingly long and filled with a wide variety of vendors. There’s just about anything you can think of for sale like local crafts, handmade goods, art, souvenirs, and more. It’s a great place to walk through, browse, and find something unique to take home.
James W — Google review
The Charleston City Market is always a fun stop when visiting the city. There’s a little bit of everything here, so it’s easy to find souvenirs or unique gifts. Prices can be on the higher side, but that’s pretty standard for a tourist spot. On one of my first visits, a kid handed me a palm rose, and before I knew it, a man was chasing me down asking for $5—it gave off a bit of a New York street hustle vibe. The market is usually crowded and can get very hot in the summer, but there’s a small indoor section with food options, air conditioning, and surprisingly clean bathrooms, which was a welcome break.

Love shopping at the Charleston city market! Lots of great Christmas and birthday gift ideas! People are friendly and there is so much to look at. We also took an E-bike ride to the pineapple fountain and enjoyed sitting by the waterfront. Don’t miss a horse-drawn carriage ride around the city, in the evening, complete with spooky ghost stories and delicious restaurants all around. Overall, Charleston is a fun walkable city with lots of history and a fun vibe!

A beautifully designed market with a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Partially air-conditioned, featuring charming shops and stalls. The vendors are friendly, not pushy, and very customer-focused. There’s a great variety of products to discover, and plenty of good food options around the market. Definitely worth a visit!

A tourist thing in Charleston. You could buy some souvenirs and we got a really cute coaster and a meh magnet. Things are pricey but not incredulous. There is a callies hot biscuit to try. Some very cool art like metal art and real butterflies taxidermy. Went in pouring stormy weather but I can imagine a more laid back stroll at the market with a loved one would be nice. Not every stall is super different so maybe the nyc in me is spoiled and I am looking for novelty. The other thing would be if there were more snacks or bites to try. But overall decent. Not stunning.

The Charleston City Market is a fun indoor/partially outdoor shopping experience. It's easy to find souvenirs or unique Charleston gifts. Prices can be on the high side, but that’s standard in a tourist area, some vendors will haggle on prices. We were there mid November which was perfect for walking around, but if your there in the summer I would go early morning.
Tim — Google review
This is a must see, local artist, specialty booths and tons of Charleston charm. Had a wonderful time, bought a few Charleston Christmas Ornaments, a few pieces of jewelry and some gifts. The outdoor Market has air-conditioning for those hot days. Would recommend this as a place to visit .

Charleston City Market is a must see while visiting the city. The market is filled with artisans and vendors offering all kinds of goods. Everything from jewelery to food. The area around the market is surrounded by unique shops and restaurants offering a wide variety of food choices. The market is a fun way to spend the day looking for that one of a kind gift.

Fine dining restaurant
Magnolias, a Charleston classic since 1990, offers a refined twist on traditional Southern cuisine in an elegant setting. The restaurant is beloved by locals for its top-notch lowcountry dishes and attentive service. Seafood takes the spotlight on the menu with authentic options like Lowcountry Bouillabaisse and Spicy Shrimp over grits. Whether it's lunch, Sunday brunch, or dinner, Magnolias delivers southern soul food with a fine-dining experience and tasteful presentation.
Tonight's dinner was @magnoliaschs in the French Quarter of Charleston! I decided to go out and splurge a little. 😂 It is a Lowcountry upscale kitchen. Drink: Grand Fashioned Elijah Craig bourbon, Grand Marnier, orange peel, Angostura bitters, Luxurious cherry App: Down South Egg Roll collard greens, chicken, tasso ham, red pepper purée, spicy mustard, peach chutney Entree: Bourbon BBQ Glazed Pork Chop mac & cheese, collard greens, jalapeño cornbread, honey butter This place was pretty amazing! The drink was exactly what I was looking for. Good flavor and straight to the point. The egg roll tasted so good. You could taste all the individual components in it. The sauces were really complimentary to it. It's really crispy! The pork chop was hands down the best I have ever had. Seasoned perfectly, juicy, and cooked to the perfect medium well. The sauce was nice and sticky. The collards had the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The mac and cheese was nice and creamy. The cornbread was nice as well. I have no complaints whatsoever. When the waitress came over to ask me how I thought the egg roll was, I dropped it by accident and made a mess. 😂 The atmosphere was amazing. It had a country, old time, and upscale feel. White tablecloths. I REALLY wish I liked seafood.
Jeff — Google review
Southern restaurant with delicious food. The fried green tomato appetizer had a super crisp outside, the tomato itself still had a bite to it and the chutney relish was tangy and delicious. Deviled eggs also very good, hard to go wrong with a deviled egg but this one was very good. The bread service is homemade bread and was warm and crispy, yumm. For mains we had the special fried catfish another hit. Batter was crunchy and the fish was tender and perfectly cooked. , red rice was great and green beans were crisp and brought some freshness to an otherwise heavy dish. The bacon was unnecessary for me as I liked the freshness of the beans and didn’t need that addition. The other main we tried was the blackened catfish. A very different preparation than the special, lightly battered and a little thicker cut. Fish was perfectly cooked and went well with the accompaniments. Every bite we had was great. There were so many other items on the menu we wanted to try we will definitely be back. They have two seating areas, the main area in the front with the bar and a second dining room in the back. Unfortunately we were seated in the back dining room which is banquet hallish. If you can, try to sit in the front room, it has charm and windows and is much more inviting.

Went here on my Birthday weekend and it was great! Prompt service, fresh seafood, and a pleasing ambiance! I had the Blue Crab Bisque and the Lowcountry Bouillabaisse. Both were exceptional and the Firefly Arnold Palmer was delicious. It is a little pricey but I would definitely recommend this to anyone going here that wants a romantic or upscale dining experience. I did make reservations so I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like.

My wife and I drove to Charleston to see family and Magnolias was on our list of restaurants to try. I'm glad we did, the food alone was worth the trip. My wife had the buttermilk fried chicken and i had the bourbon BBQ pork chop. The service great and I have ZERO complaints about our experience.

While visiting this week we decided we needed a little southern cooking in our lives. We didn’t have a reservation when we popped in. While there were plenty of tables open (they could’ve been waiting on reservations) we were only offered seating at the bar. Many of the tables remained open while we were there. Reese, our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Service was slow. The fried green tomatoes were amazing! So crispy and flavorful. My friend raved about the fried chicken sandwich. While leaving, the hostess offered someone walking in off the street (without a reservation) a table or the bar. I found that curious.
Gina H — Google review
The food was fantastic. I started with the crab bisque which was excellent and my wife had the watermelon salad (a special) which she said was the best salad she has ever had in her life. I ordered the shrimp and grits which actually had too much black pepper for MY taste but my wife tasted it and loved it. My wife ordered the seafood bouillabaisse which was very very good packed with flavor and tons of different fish and other seafood. We finished with the Red Velvet bread pudding which was topped with a raspberry cheesecake ice cream....this dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Other than the food, the atmosphere was very nice, and our waitress was wonderful. I will definitely look to come back.

One of the high end restaurants in Charleston, tablecloth and all but with some leeway in terms of dress code. No sleeveless nor beach attire but other than that they're not extremely strict. Service is professional and the servers are familiar with the ins and outs. The food is definitely quality. It's Southern inspired, or should I say, Modern Southern. Creative little twists of the classics without losing the soul. The fried chicken was properly done with a very good mildly sweet + tangy collard greens sans the unpleasant smell. Shrimp and grits were definitely proper with a nice BBQ flavor. The Bouillabaisse has a good of seafood and sausages, without the fishy smell and paired with nice corn base. Halibut was mild but the sauce more than makes up for it For appetizers, I would suggest the scallops and fried green tomatoes. The prices are fair considering the place, location, abd serving size. Definitely recommended. No dedicated parking just like most restaurants here, you'll have to find your own

Went for dinner here a month ago. The food was excellent! I had fried green onions over grits for a starter. It was my first time having this and it blew me away. I had to go back and eat this exact meal two days later. We also had the blackened catfish, an egg roll and salmon that melted in my mouth because it was medium rare. You can’t go wrong with whatever you pick. Excellent service and atmosphere.

Husk is a culinary gem nestled in a beautifully restored Victorian-era home in Charleston's historic district. Since its inception in 2010, this restaurant has captivated both critics and food enthusiasts with its innovative approach to Southern cuisine, led by the talented James Beard award-winning chef Sean Brock. The menu is a delightful surprise that changes daily, showcasing locally sourced Low Country ingredients and honoring traditional Southern heirloom recipes.
We had the chance to dine at Husk, a place we’d heard so much about. The atmosphere is warm and lively, and the staff have a great sense of humor—at one point they were laughing that my partner’s shirt looked just like their uniform. The color was almost identical, though theirs was cotton and his was linen. A lighthearted detail that made the evening even more memorable. The tuna tartare was good, though it took quite a bit of persuading to get bread with it. Oddly enough, other dishes on the menu include bread, but here it seemed like a challenge. Eventually, the waiters relented and brought it over. The real highlight of the evening, however, was the mushroom pasta. Perfectly cooked, layered over a rich mushroom purée (or perhaps a silky sauce), topped with grits. The dish was boldly seasoned with black pepper—spicy, sharp, and pronounced—yet beautifully balanced. Paired with a glass of Pinot Noir, it was perfection. Out of our entire trip, this is the one dish that truly stayed with me. In fact, I would say it’s the best dish I’ve had in the past year—even compared to meals in Michelin-starred restaurants.

Made birthday reservations and our waiter Kevin was absolutely amazing! Fantastic suggestions, perfect timing on the courses and drinks. Hit all of the highlights and answered all of our question; even when he said he'd have to differ to the bartender Damian when we asked for suggestions about adding a shot of something to the mockingbird, mocktail (Bar Hill Tom Cat gin, I will not be able to recommend this enough and I'm not usually a gin drinker). The oyster starter was grilled to perfection and my companions arent usually fans of oysters and I nearly had to fight them for my share! The pimento cheese and ham was super flavorful and the biscuits fluffy while still being sturdy, great highlight to the house pickles. The scallop starter was light and flavorful, a little bit of spice from the jalapeño, but not too overwhelming. The cornbread side was absolutely delightful, the eggplant flavorfull and well roasted. The chicken fried rabbit was jucy and delicious, the grits and gumbo offset it with a wonderfully deep, rich flavor. The pastrami was pull apart soft and juicy, with some solid roasted potatoes. The diver scallops were buttery smooth and melt in your mouth; the succotash was lightly sweet, with a lot of good corn flavor and a hint of roasted tomatillo. The icebox cake was much lighter than I was expecting with a good mocha flavor and smooth dark chocolate pastry. The seasonal ice cream we went with was the muscadine, which is apparently a local grape, which we never would have guessed, and will now go on, wishing it was a flavor we could get shipped back home with us to MN. It was absolutely amazing, light and flavorful with some vanilla bean, and i now have a quest to get my hands on some of those grapes. We will absolutely be returning for more seasonal options and to find out whats for dinner next time!

We were spending one night in Charleston and asked a friend—who’s visited countless times—for a dinner recommendation. His answer was immediate: Husk. Reservations were tough to come by (nothing until 9:45 PM on a Sunday), but thanks to Resy Global Access we snagged an 8:30 PM spot on the upstairs porch. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and seated at a beautiful table overlooking the street. Our server, Megan, introduced herself right away and was fantastic from start to finish—attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. We started with cocktails (the Pisco in a Pear Tree is excellent), a glass of Cabernet, and the skillet cornbread. The cornbread had great flavor—definitely ask for extra butter—but ours was a bit burnt on top. For entrées, we both ordered the diver scallops with brown butter, potato & bacon cream, and sourdough crumbles. The scallops were slightly overcooked, but the flavor was incredible. Surprisingly, the diced potatoes underneath might have been the highlight of the plate—rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. To finish, we shared two seasonal scoops: sweet potato ice cream (very pumpkin-pie-esque) and an orange creamsicle sherbet. Both were delicious, but the sherbet was the perfect light ending to the meal. Despite a couple small imperfections, the combination of ambiance, food, and truly exceptional service made this a standout dining experience. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Charleston. Highly recommend.

WOW. It was packed on a Monday night and it’s easy to see why. The dirty california gold rice was insanely flavorful and moist, the cornbread skillet was delicious, the pastrami brisket was so tender with a flavorful crust…such an unreal meal! The menu changes daily, which is so fun. Our server, Chris, was also wonderful and so helpful. Definitely make a reservation and check out Husk if you’re in Charleston!

Wonderful restaurant with an excellent menu that reflects Charleston and the surrounding area’s culture. Although the menu changes somewhat from what I hear, the “chicken fried rabbit is the best I have ever tasted - moist with excellent flavors. Don’t miss this dining experience if you are visiting this beautiful city.

Had an AMAZING dinner with my husband last night. One of the absolute best we've had in Charleston so far. Great ambiance, service, food, and cocktails. I highly recommend the pimento cheese and biscuit board to start, Pastrami Brisket and Chicken with black garlic coconut sauce for entrees, and rhe grits and corn bread for sides. Everything was excellent.

Perfect! Great staff, atmosphere, food and cocktails. It was just an absolute winner. Our hostess Jayla, server Kyle and Sommelier Megan were all outstanding. They leaned in with the best version of themselves and it created a wonderful culinary experience. On top of it all, the food was amazing. I loved the deviled eggs, scallops and grits. The best that I ever eaten. Plus, the Pisco in a Pear Tree cocktail was a delicious and unique spin on the traditional Pisco Sour. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and fantastic. It was everything that I expected from a classic Charleston experience. The desserts were terrific as well. I highly recommend making reservations in advance and making sure that you partake in this very special dining experience.
Paul V — Google review
This was our third visit here and it didn’t disappoint. We had a 5:30 reservation which enabled us to have a window seat looking at the courtyard and across from the kitchen pass. We began our dinner with drinks containing bourbon, after all it is the South. I selected Elijah Craig Maple & Applewood Finished - 2025 Ryder Cup Edition, Bardston, NY 94.0 proof on the rocks. My husband chose a Husk Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve bourbon, rye, bitters, orange peel and simple syrup. I had my drink on the rocks and found the Elijah Craig to be smooth with a little kick on the back end. We were quite indulgent with both of us having our own appetizers to start dinner. My husband chose Pimento Cheese (topped with a bit of chili crisp), with thinly slice Broadbent Country Ham and buttermilk biscuits to spread the cheese on along with pickles. This was delightful as the chili crisp provided a punch and a bit of heat, the ham provided texture and the pickle helped cut through all the richness. I chose the Wood Fried NC Oysters, Collard Green Rockefeller. OMG, these were to die for. The collard greens were turned into a sauce reminiscent of pesto sauce; the oysters were perfectly cooked. For entrees we ordered Seared Diver Scallops, Brown Butter, Potato & Bacon Cream, Sourdough and Golden Tilefish, Cabbage, Pine Bark Broth, Turnips. The food was absolutely scrumptious. The scallops were plump and seared to golden perfection and the sauce underneath added a nice contrast to the dish. My tile fish was crispy and moist and the accompanying vegetables gave the dish a complexity of flavors. I do love to end a meal with a little something sweet. Although we couldn’t eat another thing, I thought ice cream would hit the spot. While we could have chosen one flavor, but how can you when Husk offers muscadine grape sorbet, sweet potato pie and chocolate peanut butter as a selection. As we usually skip lunch while traveling, we indulged and order all three; I’m glad we did. The muscadine grape sorbet was a flavor I wasn’t expecting. The sorbet had a richness to it, a subtle sweet flavor and a lovely grape flavor. The sweet potato pie was tasty as well with pieces of pie throughout the ice cream. I’m not a peanut butter ice cream lover, but the rich, dark chocolate flavored with the peanut butter was to die for. The flavors were well balance with neither the chocolate or peanut butter dominating; it was so good.

Nestled in the vibrant French Quarter, Hank's Seafood Restaurant is a bustling eatery and bar that has become a beloved destination for seafood lovers. With its classic ambiance and prime location near the market, this restaurant attracts both loyal locals and curious travelers alike. Renowned for its consistently delicious offerings, Hank's features an impressive menu filled with Lowcountry favorites such as crispy fried shrimp, seared scallops, and their celebrated Lowcountry Bouillabaisse.
Second night in Charleston celebrating our tenth anniversary. Hanks definitely met the high expectations we had of good seafood in Charleston! I ordered the flounder and the flavor was out of this world! My husband ordered the oysters casino as an appetizer which were a “ decadent delight” as he described them. For his entree he ordered the grouper which was a tender but meaty and delicious entree! Our server, Drew, was very attentive and pleasant. There was a separate gluten free menu with many options. Both of our main entrees were GF.

You can really taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, making it a great spot for a nice night out. The service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend if you’re in Charleston and looking for a top-notch seafood experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We ate at Hank's some 15 years ago, and it was memorable. It's usually not possible to go back to someplace this many years later, let alone have a meal that meets expectations. Hank's is the exception. Our meal was amazing, service was fantastic, and this was just as memorable as our first time there. Hats off to Hank's! Highly recommend them. (Had Seafood a la Wando, btw)

We were very happy to start our Charleston week at a fantastic restaurant. Everything with Hank's was top notch. The server was very knowledgeable about drinks and the menu, providing us with some great recommendations for the evening. I had the evening's special, trigger fish. Well done. My first time having trigger fish and was not disappointed. It was so good I forgot what my wife had. Check them out and decide for yourself.

Hank's Seafood Restaurant is a somewhat upscale seafood restaurant (white table cloths, waiters in white jackets, etc.) The menu offers a wide range of seafood dishes and a few land lover's dishes. Additionally, Hank's offers a number of gluten-free options. The Seafood ala Wando was made gluten free. It was so delicious that my friend waited to ask the waiter if it was truly gluten-fee before continuing to savor every bite. (They have a separate menu for gluten-free offerings.) There are dishes from the raw bar, including a seafood tower. There service is impeccable. I had the bouillabaisse, which was loaded with a variety of seafoods. The tomato and leek broth was delicious. The fried green tomatoes are the best I have had anywhere and the roumalade is slightly spicy, the perfect pairing. The she crab soup is rich and creamy. The collards are flavorful. I wish we had time on our Charleston trip to eat at Hank's again.

My husband and I always try to hit Hanks for dinner while in town. This time didn't disappoint just as expected. We had Sean as our waiter, we've had Sean before and as always, he guided us through a few wine and dinner options. I had the grouper and my husband had the flounder entree's. Both were magical, paired perfectly with our wine. We finished the night off with a shared order of creme brûlée and it was perfect. Food, service and atmosphere were all perfect!
Breta C — Google review
Food was absolutely amazing. We started with the oysters and mussels, which both had great flavor. The waiter suggested the Grouper and the crab cake dinner which both were well balanced and cooked so well. Ended with a crème brûlée which you can never go wrong with.

I loved this place . Service excellent Atmosphere excellent Food excellent We commented that we will be back But then we saw the bill with junk fees. Fee to hard working kitchen staff (just pay them from regular profits not surcharge the customer) 2% cc fee no signage at front door either. They are trying to hide this until the end of the meal. Very disappointed because I wanted to come back , but I will not return. You are so close to providing a perfect experience than you ruin it. You could have easily charged an extra couple $ on entrees it would not have been a problem . It's about perception and being nickel and dimed.

Charleston Crab House is a popular casual eatery known for its convivial atmosphere and crab-heavy menu of classic seafood. With locations in downtown Charleston and James Island, this family-owned restaurant has been serving the community since 1991. The restaurant offers a variety of raw bar favorites, steamed dishes, she-crab soup, bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp, chilled blue crab dip, Lowcountry shrimp boil, mahi-mahi and more.
We enjoyed a nice dinner on the rooftop. We got the Lowcountry Shrimp Boil, the Dungeness Crab Boil, and the Alaskan Snow Crab Boil. The food was delicious and the service was great! The steam pots had plenty of food and were well seasoned. I would definitely eat here again!

Amazing service and delicious food. The fish was well seasoned with Cajun, tasted amazing by itself and was perfect for me. But as a sandwich it was on little bland side for my Indian taste buds. Shouldn't be an issue others. Fried the grilled oysters for the first time amd it was delicious too.

Service was great. The view outside and the breeze was amazing. Food was pretty good. Not the best seafood boil I've ever had but I will say the shrimp were big, fresh and cooked beautifully. I would definitely go back and try some other things on the menu that looked good! Parking can be a bit of a hassle, so plan to walk a bit if you don't get lucky and find a small strip near the restaurant.

First time going and I was not disappointed. It’s in a great location and the staff were welcoming. There was no wait time and got seated upstairs immediately. They have rooftop seating to view the downtown area which is nice. Our server was extremely nice. The menu had a lot of options and all looked good. I ordered the Low Country Shrimp Boil and it was one of the best boils I ever had. The shrimp was fresh and the garlic butter it was in was so yummy. It also came with a large corn, potatoes, and sausage. Most places slice up their sausages for boils, but I like that this restaurant didn’t. My boyfriend ordered the fried shrimp with waffle fries and I got to try it, and it was so good. Spot on with the seasoning. I did dip the fries in the garlic butter sauce from the boil and it was so good. I would definitely go back!

The Peninsula grill was everything an upscale southern steak house should be. The vibe was classy but not at all pretentious . Our sever Ben was warm and very helpful in guiding our selections on everything from appetizers to wine. The cocktails were fantastic and the steaks perfectly cooked. The warm potato salad was one of the best things I ate in Charleston. And of course, the coconut cake slaps. I would definitely recommend the peninsula grill to anyone looking to have a nice night out in Charleston.

We went to Peninsula Grill in Charleston for my wife’s birthday, and the whole experience lived up to the hype. The menu felt like something you could happily get lost in. We ordered rack of lamb, swordfish, roasted oysters, and a few other fun dishes because we wanted to sample as much as we could. Every plate landed perfectly. The drink list looked incredible too, and even though we were not drinking since my wife is expecting, we were definitely eyeing what the other tables were enjoying. The atmosphere was calm without feeling stuffy. A couple of families with children were there during the early dinner window, which gave the room a comfortable, lived in feel. Our 530 pm reservation made the whole evening relaxed and pleasant. If you love food and want a meal that feels a little elevated, with staff who take great care of you, Peninsula Grill deserves a spot on your list.

Peninsula Grill is an amazing restaurant. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary. Stephanie was our waitress and she was very hospitable and attentive. Unfortunately, half way through our wonderful meal, my wife had a medical issue arise. The manager and staff were very accommodating in helping us during this event. We are very thankful for your generosity during this event and we will return.

Exceptional food. Extremely attentive service. Reasonable portion sizes for fine dining. Outside seating area looked very nice though we sat inside. We had a reservation so no wait on our table. General atmosphere/ambience is probably becoming a bit dated but still a quality experience. We got the lump-crab soup, and lobster 3 way for an appetizer. The scallops and a grouper special for mains courses with sides of brussel sprouts and potatoes. We splurge and grabbed an American Wagyu off the Wagyu menu (not sure if this is a limited thing as it was not in the main menu, they also had options for Japanese A5). Then finished everything off with a slice of the Coconut Cake. Absolutely no complaints on the quality and flavor of food. We did not touch the Salt or Pepper. We parked just south at the Cumberland Street Garage for like $8 for the 2 hours.

The Hungry Detective and Special Agent Deirdre celebrated a big birthday and it was over the top all the way around. Atmosphere: I have been a long time listener and this was a first time call…we sat at a fabulous booth in the bar area that was a super spot. The Food: We started with the shrimp cocktail that was good tasting and went well with the excellent three olive martini🍸🍸🍸 and Amuse-Bouche that was straight outta France🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 Main Course: Rib Eye and Lobster Tail that was cooked to perfection and probably one of the best steaks 🥩🥩🥩hands down. Dessert:The coconut cake is the only way to go and better than S*X!!! The Service: James was top shelf and on point all night and a true rock star…he knows his way around the menu and wine🍷🍷🍷 selections were perfect. James is a true professional and presented a fabulous hard cover book with all of the Peninsula Grill’s best recipes…kudos to James!!! VERDICT: The Peninsula Grill is guilty as sin for doing everything right and so excited to return!!!

Anson Restaurant is a stylish Southern coastal fixture known for its carefully sourced ingredients and full bar with an impressive wine list. The restaurant offers a classy evening experience with top-notch cocktails and delectable food options like Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Fried Green Tomatoes. Reservations are available for groups of up to six people, or walk-ins are welcome.
The prices are a bit pretentious... But the food was 95% delightful 😊 Lovely Menu, service was really good. I would most definitely come back! The She crab soup was delightful!

I took the family here for my wife's birthday and we had a nice time. The restaurant is high end but there is a mix of formal and casual that's interesting. For instance they had basketball games on TVs in the bar during dinner which struck me as a bit odd for a high end restaurant. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter was a pro and very good throughout the meal. We shared a few appetizers including the shrimp and the brussel sprouts which were both very good. Well, actually the brussel sprouts were amazing. My son had a cup of the she crab soup and he was a big fan. The restaurant is known for the whole crispy (i.e. pan fried) flounder and so I ordered that and wasn't at all disappointed. It was tender and flakey and perfectly seasoned. It was served with a slaw that wasn't nearly as flavorful and just so-so. My wife had the tile fish and wasn't super happy with it, so she gave it to my son to finish. My daughter ordered the burger which was huge and she really enjoyed it. Given the location, you're looking at street or garage parking but it wasn't any issue finding a spot this time of year. The ambiance was really nice, minus the basketball. Oddly there is only one restroom to serve both sexes, so there was a line when I needed to use it. The restaurant was busy and buzzing, which I like, and the lighting was perfect. Dinner for four was $300 with minimal drinks, so budget accordingly.

Had dinner here today and overall really enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and gave thoughtful recommendations. Food was mostly great, with a few standouts and one miss for me. - She crab soup: Rich, complex, and clearly made with top-tier ingredients. You get a burst of layered flavors in every spoonful, with little bites of veggies like celery adding a refreshing crunch. It’s the kind of dish that probably has 55 steps behind it. - Beet salad: Unexpectedly amazing. Chilled beets with burrata, pistachios, and other tiny nuts made for the perfect balance of nutty, crunchy, sour and bright. - Pork chop (special): My husband’s pick. Super crispy skin, peppery, and came with a rich mushroom sauce. He said it was the best pork chop he’s had. - Whole crispy flounder: This one didn’t do it for me. First time trying flounder, and it just felt kind of bland—even with the sauce. The meat wasn’t as tender as I’d hoped. Not bad, but not something I’d order again. Still, great experience overall and would definitely come back—especially for the starters and service.

We celebrated our anniversary tonight at the Anson. Our experience was first class from start to finish! The service was stellar, and the food was incredible (we had she-crab soup, baby beet salad, ravioli, and the halibut). Portions were perfect, and top notch. We highly recommend the Anson. Parking is close and convenient as well. We couldn't have asked for better.

07/31/2025 – Anson - on Anson Street This is why I am doing this fun project of exploring the restaurants that Charleston has to offer. It is all worth it when I find a hidden gem like I did last night. Anson has been around for over 35 years and yet I never knew of it. It is very simple looking from the outside. When walking from our garage to the restaurant, we had to pass by the horse stalls that serve as the horse drawn carriages that the tourists partake. But there is no fear of “horse smell” ruining an evening at Anson. This restaurant has it all. It is the Triple Crown of eateries. It has ambience, great service, super friendly staff, and the food is THE BEST I have eaten in my experiences of dining out in historic Charleston. We arrived at 5:30pm in order to have the dining room to ourselves and enjoy the ambiance and service. Our server was K.J. She was a delight. She has been working there for five years and gave us a complete background history on the Anson and its development. The main floor hosts a beautiful bar. The theme is red and black with comfy booths and chairs. Looking at the menu online before we arrived, we were worried that there was not going to be a large choice of meats to choose from. But K.J. informed us that the Anson is known for its steaks. She began listing all the meat entrees that were available. We had too many great choices and now we want to go back and try all of them! So do NOT let the online menu fool you or deter you. We asked that they didn’t rush us, and they did not. We had a 2.5-hour experience wining and dining and loved every minute of it. We were not rushed. We were treated like royalty. And they only seemed concerned with making us enjoy the evening and dining experience. There is an upstairs dining room that was pure elegance. It was like taking a tour of a beautiful old mansion with deep colors and chandeliers and plush furnishings. For ambience, it is a 10++++. Knowing it was our first time there, the chef Shawn sent out a complimentary appetizer of gnocchi drizzled with coconut milk and cheese. It was outstanding. I started with the Shrimp de Johnge - baked Royal Red shrimp, sherry, garlic, breadcrumbs, and herbs. It was a new taste for me but a delight. Ron ordered the fried green tomatoes with bacon jam and pimento cheese. It was delicious and a very generous helping. We had a relaxing break and then our main course arrived. The server, K.J., told us that their filet mignon is known for being a “melt in your mouth” delight. I have heard that term over-used too much where I don’t even hear it any more. BUT this time it was true. Every bite melted in my mouth. And it was cooked perfectly the way I like it. A side of mashed potatoes and I was a happy patron. Ron had the veal parmesan. He also agreed it was the best he had ever had. I had a taste, and it too was light and flavorful. Dessert was a pecan pie served warm with vanilla ice cream on top. By the time we finished, we were floating in an epicurean heaven. I can’t say enough about this place. The staff kept coming by to say “hi”. The chef Shawn came out to our table to see how everything was and to thank us for giving their little gem a try. I think we met every one that worked there. So friendly and warm. They even sent us a round of champagne! The entire time, we were both thinking about coming back and bringing friends with us so they could experience this place also. I want to come back and try more items. I want to come back and dine in each and every beautiful room upstairs and down. So, for us: Service – 10+++++++ Ambiance - 10++++++ Food – 10+++++++ The best we have ever had, and we have had a lot!! Would we go back? In a heartbeat. I was just there last night and yet I yearn to return and see if it was all a dream.

I really wanted to like Anson, the room is pretty and the greeting was friendly. Things really started off wrong with the drinks. All cocktails were $22 and they were bad. Bad glassware, crappy ice, and bad flavors. Two of our cocktails stood untouched until the waiter removed them, but he didn’t ask if anything was wrong with them. I could have sent them back but they really should not be selling bad cocktails at that price point in this day and age. Doar brothers around the corner had absolutely fantastic cocktails priced at $16. The apps were just ok, 5 tiny toasted oysters for $24 and a shrimp and bread crumb that was tasty but mostly breadcrumbs. For Mains the crispy flounder was very nice, the ravioli entree was just ok, 6 ravioli for $45. I just don’t think the value of Anson stands up among other Charleston restaurants. It too bad because they were very gracious and told me several times that they appreciated that we were there.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and everything was amazing! The service was very attentive, and several of the wait staff as well as the manager I believe checked on us multiple times. The food was excellent too. My wife had the halibut and corn risotto, while I had the ravioli stuffed with ricotta and herb cheese and I usually need a lot to get full, but this was so good and very flavor intensive. They treated us so well and we will definitely be back for a future visit. It's good so I recommend trying it if you want something elegant and stylish.

It gets harder and harder to find a restaurant that cares about and knows how to deliver good food and great service. Anson delivered both during our recent visit to Charleston. Our server, Paul, from Buffalo, a Bills fan (we are Patriots fans) paced our meal perfectly, provided helpful recommendations - get the pork chop - and ensured that everything was just right without being intrusive. We enjoyed his company just as much as we enjoyed the great food and the beautiful second floor dining room. Overall, a great experience

Fine dining restaurant
Oak Steakhouse is an upscale dining spot housed in a beautifully renovated historic bank building. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced beef and sustainable seafood, following a farm-to-table approach by partnering with local farmers and fishermen. While renowned for its prime certified Angus steaks, Oak also offers a lesser-known specialty - the Oak burger, served with grilled onions, tomato, bibb lettuce, and fontina cheese on a challah bun alongside hand-cut truffle fries.
Oh my goodness this is the BEST steak house we have ever been to. Our server, Jackson, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu options. Having never tried a dry aged steak before, we definitely had questions. We let them know it was our wedding day (we eloped that afternoon!) and they had a beautiful surprise at our table. It’s a pricey place but completely worth it! Definitely a place to celebrate and make memories.

My daughter has been taking me to Oak consistently for my birthday over the past 7 years. Everything about my past visits have been good. The food has always been excellent and the service as well. We went tonight for dinner and everything was just outstanding. The food was excellent and the service was the best I have ever experienced. Beyond what I experienced before. Our server was Ramesh and he was the ultimate in professionalism, service and did everything to make my birthday special!!! He was the BEST!! In reality everyone wished me a happy birthday, from the hostess to the young man filling the water glasses. It was a special dinner of roasted duck breast, brussels and ended with a slice of birthday peach cheesecake. Thank you to Oak for such a delightful culinary experience for my birthday!

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday last weekend. We had a wonderful time. We tried the Rockfeller oysters that our waiter suggested, absolutely amazing! Our dinners, duck and steak, were also amazing! That was probably the best duck I've ever had. The service there was very helpful and friendly. Our sever was very knowledgeable on all the dishes, gave great recommendations, and genuinely seemed to enjoy working at this restaurant. I would highly recommend this place for a special outing!

It was a lovely experience. The food was delicious and our server was pleasant. The only thing I didn't care too much for was how loud it was inside. I'm not sure if it's the acoustics in the building but it was hard to have a conversation.

Fabulous steakhouse in historic district of Charleston just 1 block from the river. We came for my son’s birthday - they surprised us with special menu’s printed for him. Highly recommend the rolls!!

We were celebrating our 13 year Wedding Anniversary. The restaurant was Nice! Very upscale and nice for special occasions. The pork Belly was good. The wedge salad was delicious. My steak was decent. Scallop was delicious. My hubby had a NY Strip, it was cooked perfect. Mine was a little too well done. I did not get an $80 portion of food!!! The black eye peas were disgusting! We sent them back. They were Hard and under cooked. Sam our waiter was Awesome! He did an amazing job! The classic sundae was Delicious!! Very good quality ice cream and toppings. Drink was good to! Made perfect. This was definitely a one night stand type restaurant. Based on price and portion we will not go back!

New American restaurant
The Grocery is a warm and inviting restaurant with an inventive, seasonal menu and a selection of signature cocktails, wine, and craft beers. Chef Kevin Johnson, a multiple-time James Beard Award-semifinalist, showcases the flavors of locally sourced ingredients in dishes like the Lowcountry Seafood Pilau and wood-roasted whole fish. The restaurant's wood-burning oven imparts a smoky flavor to various dishes such as cauliflower, asparagus, and whole roasted snapper.
Had a great visit with friends! We had a reservation and were seated promptly by the window, which gave us a nice view and a quieter atmosphere compared to the main room, which was a bit noisy. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The only downside was that we weren't offered a dessert menu, so if you’re hoping for dessert, be sure to ask. Bonus: they have a paid parking lot, but you can validate your ticket after paying the check, which is super convenient. Overall, a solid experience!

My friend and I came in for a quick dessert and a glass of wine after dinner. We were sat immediately and the hosts were super nice and asked if a booth was suitable. After taking a quick glance at the menu our server Anna came and greeted us, walking us through the dessert menu. We mentioned that my friend has a nut allergy and Anna quickly confirmed with the kitchen that the nuts she was allergic to were not in or on the dessert we ordered. The Ricotta almond cake was DIVINE. A perfect suggestion made by our server. It practically melted in our mouths! The textures were soft with a bit of crunch at the end from the almonds! Overall it was an amazing experience! We will absolutely be back for a full course meal! Thank you Anna!

An incredible meal. Was difficult to determine what to order because it all sounded intriguing! Many vegetarian options because they are heavy produce, but so much better! Had eggplant for our app, fish and pasta for dinner.

The Grocery is a welcoming neighborhood eatery dishing out fan favorites sourced from farmers, fisherman, and friends. We had a large party and they were very accommodating. They let us eat and catch up with friends. The standouts from the meal were the bistro steak and story farms half chicken but everything was delicious. Charleston has lots of great spots and You can add the Grocery to the list! We will be back!

We had a wonderful dinner at the grocery and pretty surprise that we didn't do it sooner. Our server was friendly and quite knowledgeable with the menu and drink The restaurant was roomy and has a good lay out. We had the storey farm half chicken dish and the potato crusted tile fish. They were so good. The yellowfin tuna crudo and broccoli salad tasted amazing as well. We will be back!

The food was AMAZING!! Service was good, I didnt enjoy that when we sat before even looking at menus we were asked if we wanted bread and butter. We said yes assuming it was complimentary like so many other restaurants, but when the bill came, they charged us for it. It was a very sneaky move. I dont appreciate that kind of service. Other than that everything was spot on Other than that everything was amazing. We ordered mushrooms, blistered peppers, wreck fish, and the baklava sundae 🍨 Highly recommend

Excellent drink menu, delicious small plates. The pork belly, peaches, and eggplant plates were all very well done, and I normally avoid eggplant. Everything is well balanced and thoughtfully constructed. The potatoes with the steak were uniquely prepared, thin sliced, and then restocked. The Au Pear cocktail was delicious but a tad small, or at least that was my perception. Would absolutely come back. Rachel was our server, she was very helpful and accommodating.

Prohibition is a modern American restaurant in Charleston with a Jazz Age theme and creative cocktails. High Wire, the first distillery in downtown Charleston since Prohibition, stands out for its use of southern-grown grains and small-batch experimental spirits. The owners' culinary background emphasizes terroir and agriculture, earning them James Beard Award nominations. The vintage-inspired decor at Prohibition creates a speakeasy atmosphere, offering inventive cocktails and a dim sum dish that reflects Lowcountry flavors.

Old Fashioned has a suave peach twist and the Margarita Fuego was EXCELLENT: Blanco tequila, lime, Cointreau, chipotle, mango, and jalapeno - not too spicy and the mango to help curb the zip. This place is packed. We had to gravitate to the back patio bar. My main qualm was waiting over 10 minutes to order while sitting at the bar. Bachelorette parties standing over my shoulder kept getting the go ahead to order. I was about to leave had I been skipped over one more time. Also, with the name Prohibition I was expecting more 30's speakeasy aesthetics and decor... but it felt more like the stereotypical modern rustic craft cocktail bar. Not worth frequenting if that's your selling point in question. Overall, decent cocktails, some with a minor twist. The place seemed like it sponsored bachelorette parties with the amount of coordinated costumes & celebratory groups in there. Must be a prime spot to go out with your friends, not as much for an intimate outing.

This restaurant has a cool vibe and some rather yummy food. Stopped here for lunch and sat on there back patio which was very nice and chill. Got the deviled eggs, wings, and chopped cheese burger. The eggs were fantastic and highly recommend this. The wings were decent and the chopped cheese had some great flavors. The drink menu was good and had plenty of cool mixed options. The bartender made a nice expresso martini. Service was friendly, but slow, and hectic. We got our entree before our appetizer and the wings came with the check. Overall, id definitely recommend.

The atmosphere was very cool! But the drinks needed a little more. We found them not well balanced and had a hard time finishing them. We would’ve given a second round another chance but our waitress never came back to ask. She was wonderful but the bar needed more people working because the room wasn’t close to full or busy but she was constantly busy with different tasks. So her inattentiveness certainly was not on purpose at all. We felt bad for her. However after waiting for so long we did have to approach the bar and ask for our check. We wondered if we would have liked the second round better. The charcuterie board was truly divine! So for small bites and maybe a simple drink i do recommend it!

My friends and partner and I went to Prohibition this past Saturday. It was pouring rain so while parking across the street was the most desirable option- it WAS close and convenient. Upon entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted and told that there was only outdoor seating available unless we wanted to wait a little while so we opted for the patio. It was covered so that was good. The reason I gave a 4 star rating is because I thought the manager could have opted to turn on a couple heaters being that it was a bit chilly with it raining and the wind was blowing a bit. Luckily we had jackets so that helped. On to the dining experience- this place has several small plate options which I’m not always crazy about due to portion sizes but the items were ordered were sufficient and we were all able to share with each other. My partner got the tomato bisque soup w/ grilled cheese and while it’s such a simple option- it was perfect and exactly what she needed to warm her up a bit. The soup was creamy and rich and the grilled cheese was crust less and had a good cheese pull. My only complaint would be that the grilled cheese could have been a little bigger. I ordered the brussel sprouts which were great. They were nice and crispy and flavorful. One of my friends ordered the baked oysters- my issue with this dish is that it only came w/ 3 and they weren’t that big- also, I never understood why restaurants don’t do appetizers like that in even numbers. The oysters were cooked perfectly and tasted great and they had a good creaminess from the cheese. The MVP of the night was the bone marrow- I had never had it before and was very hesitant to try it…until I saw it. I tried it and it was amazing! So good in fact that we ordered a 2nd order. The bone marrow was like a rich butter and the meat (I think was brisket?) that topped it was amazing as well- it was sweet and savory. We had 3 old fashioned cocktails and an espresso martini w/ an added shot of baileys which was fantastic! We’ll be back again for sure!

First I must say, the chef is a gem. This kitchen put out a very fine lobster roll, which I enjoyed as an appetizer along with a short pour from the finest Pinot noir from Oregon. Next up, although hesitant at first, I ordered the filet mignon, this by the way was agreed upon by the bartender Trent Major. The filet was served rare with haricot verde’ and awesome potato scalloped. Very well paired with the reasonably priced bottle of Pinot. I would like to add a total recommendation of “100%” for attitude of both Trent, Maria and the entire staff. Life is short spend a little time at this local gem.

The Watch Rooftop Kitchen and Spirits, situated atop a stylish hotel, provides an opportunity to savor Charleston's flavors while taking in stunning city views. Its industrial-chic indoor dining area and two sleek outdoor terraces offer a captivating panorama of the city's architectural heritage. The restaurant serves modern American cuisine with influences from the region and around the world, using locally sourced ingredients. Meanwhile, the rooftop bar offers an array of signature cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and a fine selection of wines.
Stunning views and delicious food with spectacular drinks! We were initially seated inside but the hostess was nice enough to let us switch our locations. The service was great, especially for how busy they were with large bachelorette parties while we were there. The truffle fries….to die for! The tomato basil soup had great flavors as did the skillet Mac and cheese if you’re looking for lighter lunch options. We also had a banana pie and espresso martini that were both fantastic. Will definitely return here again!

The Watch Rooftop came highly recommended to my bff and I for a must try stop on our girls weekend and while we wanted to love it… we were sadly disappointed by the food and drink we tried. We ordered the Summer Spritz Flight as it looked soooo yummy and refreshing on the Instagram page, but found that all 4 of the options were too sweet- either overpowered by the flavor add-in, or the sparkling wine used. We couldn’t finish any of them- such a shame! We planned to get lunch, but when trying the deviled eggs appetizer and the drink flight… we opted not to. The deviled eggs were room temp (would’ve been better chilled?) and had zero flavor. We both agreed that they needed something- salt, pepper, a kick?! Something. Our server was fabulous and nearing the end of a long shift, and we appreciated that none of these observations were her fault, so opted not to say anything. The view was lovely- even on an overcast day. Overall, we both agree we’d come back for a sunset drink in the future and marvel at the downtown view, but avoid a seasonal cocktail.

Lovedddd this restaurant! Convinent to king street and associated parking but tucked inside the beautiful restoration hotel, The Watch is a little piece of the slow Southern lifestyle that seems to be missing in too much of Charleston these days. The food and cocktails were delicious - highly recommend the braised beef orecchiette and the burrata and jam! Definitely try to sit on the front patio for the views (its less windy than the back patio too) but on cold/hot days the inside is beautiful and cozy too!

If you're ever in Charleston, SC, and looking for a spot that combines great food, killer views, and a laid-back vibe, this rooftop restaurant is a must. Imagine sitting above the historic district, with views of the city stretching out before you. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time. It was a little tricky finding it but you know what they say, the adventure is in the journey not the destination. A short walk up the breezeway between the Rise Coffee Bar and the Restoration Hotel, hop the elevator to the seventh floor and you're there. The scenery is very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The vibe was very chill and laid back. The food was delicious. When you visit the truffle fries are a MUST HAVE. But what really makes this place stand out is the service. The staff is on point—friendly, attentive, but never hovering. They know how to let you enjoy your meal and the view without interruption. Whether you’re out for a date night or just grabbing drinks with friends, this rooftop spot hits all the right notes. Definitely worth checking out!

We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and stopped by this rooftop spot during happy hour, and it was such a great experience. The appetizers were delicious, especially the deviled eggs and the truffle fries. They both were worth ordering. The old fashioneds were such a treat to sip while taking in the incredible views. The location is super convenient and easy to walk to, and the prices during happy hour made it even better. We actually found this place on Instagram and are so glad we decided to check it out because it turned out to be another hidden gem. The whole setting was romantic, laid-back, and the perfect spot for a date night with a view.

We sat for 10 min on a quiet Monday afternoon before anyone even came to the table to offer us water. They took the order brought food to the table no plates or silverware. Seriously offering a Margaritia from a pouch like Capri sun. Then the server comes to the table and rather than ask. Us if everything was OK he wanted to know what we liked best??? The menu says sharable...not. Definitely not worth the cost

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. We went there for my birthday on a quiet Monday afternoon. We were seated, and after 10 minutes hadn’t even been seen by anyone. Two men were seated next to us, and were served water before us. The server would’ve walked right past us again so we stopped her and asked if we could possibly have some water. She asked if we’d been seen yet and we said no. Five more minutes went by. She brought out waters for the 3 of us. Put 2 down and left with the third. Eventually came back and said she took the third water with her and didn’t know why. All the other tables had a bottle of water provided. We got what tasted like tap water with dirty ice cubes. We were finally greeted by our server and ordered drinks and two “shareables”. The server didn’t bother to tell us these tiny dishes wouldn’t be enough for three people to share. Our food came out - without plates and still without our drinks. He finally brought our drinks and insisted we taste them immediately. Since the man next to us complained his drink was awful maybe it’s not so weird? 🤷🏻‍♀️ A few minutes went by and he came back. Instead of asking how everything was he asked us what our favorite thing was. We finally got the check - $81 for three drinks, two small appetizers, and terrible service. We spoke to the manager and explained the oddness of it all. She had a deadpan expression. Spoke in monotone, apologizing and wishing me a bland and weird “happy birthday” all in one breath without even a smile. Needless to say, never again.

I had a wonderful experience here on a Tuesday evening! My boyfriend and I sat out on the terrace for his birthday dinner. He got the shrimp and chorizo bowl and I got the short rib pasta dish - both were delicious! The brussel sprouts and pumpkin cheesecake were our app and dessert - these were great too. Service and atmosphere were wonderful.

Bohemian Bull is an upscale pub in James Island, Charleston, offering a relaxed atmosphere for families and friends. The place boasts a rotating list of 31 craft beers on tap and serves delicious brisket burgers and bar food. Its outdoor seating under old trees with twinkly lights provides a perfect setting for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The industrial rustic-styled bar complements the ambiance.
We started off with the deviled eggs which were different and pretty tasty. I had the chicken gyro burger and my husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and those truffle fries you can’t get enough of. They serve thc drinks which is a great addition to the selection of beverages and boy is there a selection.

I'd give more stars if I could! Everything about this place is 👌👌👌 Let's start with cocktails 🍸 I had the Pickled Me Pink Martini and the flavors were absolutely perfect! The pickled onion hits after the refreshing sip of the drink but is very subtle. I'm not one to typically go for dry martinis and this is not like that at all. All I can say is, try it! You might be pleasantly surprised, like I was! 🍸I also had the Mango Habanero Margarita and it was ALSO so good. I suspect most of their cocktails are. This was the perfect blend of spicy and tangy without all the sugary hangover-in-the-making you'd expect from a regular margarita. And it was pretty! Kids had the shrimp and fries (5 grilled shrimp) and grilled chicken and fries (heads up, grilled chicken was served with red pepper flakes, and my kid wouldn't eat it because it was "too spicy"... To be fair, it was spicy.) Thankfully, they have "good ranch" and that helped! Hubby had Fish n Chips. I was a big fan of the tartar sauce because you could taste the dill! The fish was nice and crispy. He devoured it. I had the Chimi Chimi Burger and Oh. My. Gosh. It was a flavor explosion!! It did have a bit of a kick, but the beer cheese along with the arugula and bacon jam all came together for an unforgettable burger experience. 😗 I would definitely come back for this burger but now I really want to try the other burgers!! 🍔 I had mine with a side of pasta salad and it was also really surprisingly good! Lots of flavor and cheese chunks. The service was super friendly and quick... Just what you need on a hot day when everyone is hangry. 🤣 From the road, I would have never guessed this place had what it did to offer... Including a full back patio with lots of space for dogs and kids to run around. We will definitely be back!! THANK YOU!

I had wings along with Fried Okra both were great. The Okra was not cut and cooked in a light tempura batter. Very good. Beer selection on tap was large. The service was fantastic.

Server was good but the food was not. Burrito bowl too much cheese on it couldn’t eat it. Kids grilled chicken too dry and sweet potato fries tasted like it was fried more than once. Tasted like old oil. Toddler couldn’t eat it at all. Usually like this place but was very disappointed this time.

Great ambiance in the beer garden outside. I enjoyed the nachos and the veggie burger.

I've eaten at the Bull so many times over the years. It's always been super consistent. Been solo and with groups of people up to 8 and they nail it. Bar staff has been great and server staff has been great too. Great alcohol and beer selection.

Good burger. Fries were cold, but replaced quickly. However, I had already lost interest. Seating is 'rustic' and 'kitschy'. That means uncomfortable. The music was way too loud, and being played through the cheapest, worst-sounding speakers. It was pretty much impossible to converse. Worst of all - Dog Friendly. This means that inconsiderate people bring their dawgs there to bark and annoy other people. I will never go there again.

Had a great meal and experience. Server was marvelous and he helped us have a great meal. Started with oysters which was fun to compare. Then had peel and eat shrimp which was chilled and delicious. Then had yellowtail which was great. Dessert was beautiful and delicious. If in the area we would certainly go back

Came here for our 10 year anniversary, we sat at the bar, the bartender was amazing and very attentive! We called in the day before our arrival to try to get a reservation and was told 5:15 (15 min after open) was the only time available, honestly I’m glad we came earlier than later, the place was popping off even 15 min after open! Highly recommend. Food was delicious and very accommodating, even the experience at the bar was superb.

The Royal Tern absolutely lives up to its name - dining here was a truly royal experience. We had dinner with another couple and enjoyed their company as much as the food! We collectively shared salads and fluffy yeast rolls which were amazing. We had the whole market fish grilled and it was perfectly cooked with crisp skin and perfect scores. The coconut rice was just sweet enough and a great compliment to the salty fish. Another guest had the flat iron steak and it was cooked just as she asked and splendid. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, light, airy, and a beautiful place to enjoy a great meal with great friends.

Everything that hit the table was amazing! Beautiful ambiance inside. We came for my birthday and everyone loved the meals, apps, and deserts! My whole flounder was the best I’ve ever had. Super fresh crab dip, calamari, shishito peppers, and steak. Top notch place for a special occasion or just a nice date night!

A.W. Shuck's Seafood Shack is a vibrant and casual dining spot that offers a variety of seafood sandwiches, bowls, and platters. Whether you prefer to dine indoors or outdoors, there are ample seating options available. The menu features an array of delicious seafood options with generous portions. Customers can expect informal service where they order at the front and have their food brought to them.
This is a neat little seafood spot on market street. The draw is the oysters and the outdoor patio. If it is a nice day this is a fantastic spot for lunch. Service was fast and friendly and the food came out quickly. Not too expensive and tasted great. The shrimp po boy came on a fluffy roll and it was a great compliment to the raw oysters. The coconut rice is sweet and almost a treat.

What a quaint little taco spot. The outdoor seating area is so nice. The fried fish tacos with the boom boom sauce is good. The crab dip is divine. Should give a try!

Nice hole in the wall with quick quality seafood bites. Real nice staff and very accommodating venue. Both indoor and outdoor dining. We chose indoor because of the wind but still had a great time. The Frozé was a hit and very enjoyable. The salmon bowl is a must!!!! Delicious! Crab cake sandwich was small in size but tasty. Fish sandwich gets a 2/5- not much flavor. Fish tacos get a 3/5. Nicely paired with fries.

Aw shucks, as in mistake to come here. Line is out the door to get in to this restaurant. And from my experience it wasn’t because of the outstanding food and service. Theres a long line because theres 1 person at the front door that is the hostess AND takes your food order and payment. It’s VERY time consuming. The same person also oversees the ever popular frozen alcoholic drink dispensers for “froze all day” and of course the machines are painstaking slow. Not sure why there isn’t a separate line for grab and go beverages. I ordered the crab cake sandwhich with a side of potato salad. Once you pay you are given a number and seat yourself. We sat outside. People who ordered after us got their food before we did. When the sandwhich finally arrived it was more like a crab salad, similar in consistency to tuna salad. It wasnt a “cake” by any means in consistency or form. And it also wasnt hot. Not even room temperature. Being that you already ordered and paid and sat yourself theres no staff coming by or available to help or get refills or anything. I went back inside and stood at the kitchen counter area for a few minutes before flagging someone down to let them know the crab “cake” was cold. Kind of got an “oh. Ok.” And was told I’d get another one brought out to me. Meanwhile my husband ate and finished his lunch in the time I git the replacement crab cake. It wasnt as cold but still wasn’t hot or even warm. My husband’s meal was fair he said. The potato salad I had as a side was good. Also, its not clear to many patrons who walk up from the street to the outdoor dining area that you need to go inside to place your order and that wait staff don’t come around outside to give you menus or take your orders. Several tables around us just sat and sat waiting for a server to come by. It wasn;t until we told them they needed to go inside to place their order that they realized how things worked.

We dined for lunch at this place along King Street in Charleston. Really, really enjoyed it. Order at hostess stand (VERY friendly hostess) and then they bring the food to your table. Limited seating inside but they have a large, outdoor patio that was shaded during lunch which was nice on a warm day. We shared the calamari which was really good and I had a mini crabcakes with a remoulade sauce which were some of the best crabcakes I've ever eaten out. My husband had the soft shell crab po boy which he raved about. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Vickie R — Google review
Ordered a beef burger, advertised prominently on their wall outside, what came wasn't the color of beef, much less the taste of beef. They did refund and say these things happen, but grey-brown beef isn't something that happens. Others had seafood and didn't enjoy theirs either. Local tour guide recommended, but this is definitely a business that is still around only because people get hungry on the street and pop in not knowing better

This seafood restaurant in Mount Pleasant is a great place for a quick bite. They have oysters for $1 during happy hour and various other specials, making it a great option for those on the go. The customer service is helpful and attentive, making it the perfect spot to go with friends or family.
When I first heard the name, I thought it might be some upscale snoot box place. But to my surprise it was actually very nice, clean, and a very down to earth place to eat. It gave me vibes like one of my favorite seafood places in NY the Boil. It's set up with all this aquatic decor which is great. They also had a bar which was set up pretty good. The place wasn't that big, but I find that to be common with GREAT seafood places that start out thinking there just good. But soon find out they blow up so big they need way more space to accommodate there customer overflow. Yes I said it...I can see Pier 41 as one of those places very soon. The customer service was fantastic. Funny thing is there was only the bartender, he did everything. This place was popping that nite. But he never left us unattended. He was definitely on his job. Now let's get to what your really checking in for.... the food. The menu is not that extensive, not yet, but just wait. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. I'm surprised there were no signs posted about the food being brought in from the sea hours ago. Everything was cooked to perfection. The crab legs were tender and sweet. The shrimp were melt in your mouth tender. They had an appetizer called a crab cake corn dog. Sounds weird right...lol. There was no hotdogs or anything crazy like that. It was a crab cake on a stick. Real Crab Alert!!!!!!!!. Delicious.... we paired it with their delicious remoloude sauce. They have a delightful crab dip that they paired with toasted pretzels through the roof good. We enjoyed some Po'boys, seafood boils, and Gumbo. Everything was to perfection. If i had to critique anything about them...i would say...please put atleast a pinch of salt on everything. That's it... that is it. You want some great food, great drinks, great atmosphere to eat in with outstanding prices that are very budget friendly? Pier 41 is your place.

Pier 41 Oyster Bar – Mount Pleasant Had dinner at Pier 41 and it was excellent from start to finish. I ordered the lobster roll with coleslaw and started with two appetizers—the mussels and the crab dip. The mussels were served in a fennel and lemongrass broth that was fragrant, delicate, and absolutely delicious—perfect for soaking up with bread. The crab dip was surprisingly light, not overly rich, and had a fresh, clean flavor that let the crab really shine. The lobster roll was also a standout—simple, lightly dressed, and served on a perfectly toasted roll. The coleslaw added just the right amount of crunch and brightness on the side. The prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. It's a great neighborhood seafood spot with a raw oyster bar and a coastal, laid-back vibe. I’ll definitely be back. — eating dinner at Pier 41.

Wow, what a great find! One of the best seafood platters we’ve ever had, anywhere. We shared it (two of us) and it was ample. Great, friendly staff, good beer and cocktails too. Decent happy hour worth going to for cheap drinks and small plates. While we were there we saw a few people getting buckets of oysters and shucking themselves which looked like a better alternative to some of the items we tried. It is a small place with just a few tables and pretty much every seat was filled for happy hour. Nothing blew our mind but nothing disappointed us either.
Sharlette C — Google review
We were looking for good seafood but a little cheaper than the "seaside" places. Not disappointed! Made happy hour and an extra special $1.00 each oysters. They were great. The fried and boiled seafood platters were great too. Our server, Ashley?? was awesome. We arrived at opening time and it got full fast. Very nice time, completely recommend Pier 41 in Mt Pleasant.
Jim W — Google review
The client service was excellent. It's funny since the bartender was the only one that did everything. That night, this area was booming. However, he never abandoned us. He was undoubtedly working. Let's go on to the main reason you are checking in: the food. Just wait; the menu isn't that extensive yet. The food was great. It was all so new. The fact that no signs were put about the food being carried in from the sea just hours before astonished me. It was all well cooked. Sweet and tender were the crab legs. The shrimp were so delicate that they melted in your tongue. They served crab cake corn dogs as an appetizer. Sounds strange, doesn't it? . No hotdogs or anything of the sort were available. On a stick, it was a crab cake. Alert: A Real Crab.... We coupled it with their delectable remoloude sauce, and it was fantastic. They have a delicious crab dip that goes really well with toasted pretzels. We savored gumbo, seafood boils, and po'boys. Everything was flawless. If I had to criticize them in any way, I would say to at least be cautious about everything. That's all there is to it. Do you want delicious cuisine, excellent beverages, a wonderful dining experience, and exceptional, reasonably priced prices? You're at Pier 41.

Seafood market
Crosby's Fish & Shrimp Co. is a family-owned business deeply rooted in Charleston, offering the freshest selection of seafood from the eastern seaboard. With over three decades of experience, they provide an authentic local seafood experience. You can witness the team unloading today's fresh catch from the back dock. They also operate a food truck with stunning waterfront views and serve excellent local shrimp and fish along with other delicious options like fried bologna sandwiches.
The food is delicious and obviously fresh. No need to go to a fancy seafood restaurant when you can get some of the best seafood in Charleston here. Also fun to watch the dolphins, birds, and boats pass by. Highly recommend, but time it right so it doesn’t take you an hour to get down Folly Road.
Alex L — Google review
Crosby’s Fish and Shrimp Co. offers a vibrant spot on Folly Beach with fresh seafood and a welcoming atmosphere. The seating area is a highlight, providing a comfortable and scenic place to enjoy the coastal vibe. The paid fishing pier is a nice touch for those looking to cast a line, adding to the overall experience of visiting this waterfront gem. However, the food truck’s offerings left something to be desired. The crab cake was disappointing, lacking visible crab meat and falling short of expectations for a seafood-focused spot. The grilled fish, while fresh, was overly salty, which overshadowed the natural flavors. Overall, the food truck’s dishes felt average and could use refinement to match the quality of the setting. Despite the food truck’s shortcomings, the fresh seafood selection and inviting seating make Crosby’s worth a visit for the ambiance and pier access. I’d recommend sticking to the raw or lightly prepared seafood options and skipping the crab cake until the recipe improves.

Local Charm, Fresh Fish and a Great Vibe at Crosby’s…! We finally stopped by Crosby’s after driving past it several times during our stay on Folly Beach - glad we did! While we didn’t eat on-site, we really enjoyed walking around the property, meeting their friendly shop dog Crosby and checking out everything they had to offer. They’ve got a great selection of fresh fish, local seafood, fishing gear and some fun Crosby-branded merch. We picked up a few items to bring back to Texas and cook at home. It’s a laid-back, authentic spot with real Lowcountry charm. Definitely worth the stop whether you’re stocking up for dinner or just curious to check it out.

We flew home to Charleston after an extended trip to Florida and decided to meet a friend a late lunch. It was hot as the devil out but we sat in the shade and had a nice breeze coming off of the water. The fried shrimp and slaw were fantastic. The portions are bigger than they look and for the price can’t be beat. I had to share because I couldn’t eat it all. My wife got the tacos and had nothing but great things to say about them. Always a great go to spot!

This is our favorite stop off spot on the way home from Folly and for good reason. They have a nice assortment of fresh seafood as well as cooking ingredients. This stop we racked up on local pottery and 4 doz NC oysters in the shell. We steamed the oysters tonight and they were some of the best we have ever had, both in taste and quality! Thanks Crosby’s for keeping the bar high and consistent!

My soul was renewed after our experience with this impeccable location. So good we went back the next day. Lobster, octopus, grouper ceviche, key lime and raspberry sauce with oysters!! Never has food been an experience like this!! Staff was incredible! Just go you will not regret it

Service was very attentive and personable. I'm usually not a fan of high-top tables, but the seats were comfortable, and the tables were sturdy. The menu is simple; make sure to ask about their specials. For starters, the chefs cheese selection is a must - even if you're not a cheese connoisseur. Warning: the salads are meals themselves. A single pizza and salad could easily fill hungry couples. The pizza is excellent. It reminded me of my time in Italy. The sauce is wonderful. I was a bit disappointed in their "gelato", it was literally ice cream. It's a nice place, in a nicer area, it's touristy, the ambiance was a bit classy; but at the end of the day, it's pizza! So the price was a bit of a shocker. I mean, when I parked the Chevy between a Jaguar and a Mercedes-Benz, I didn't think much of it. -- It was a nice treat.

We HIGHLY recommend wood and grain. The service was amazing and everything we ate had such good flavor. Started with the app which had a great blend of sweet and delicate flavor paired with just a hint of spice. The pizza was so good we couldn’t stop eating it until it was gone! The cast iron Brookie had such a great sweet flavor with a touch of hazelnut. The caramel was the perfect topping. Definitely will be back and will bring our guests to experience.

Nestled in the heart of Charleston's historic French Quarter, The Quinte Oyster Bar offers a delightful escape into a world inspired by Parisian elegance and high-class dining traditions. With its stunning dark wood accents and jewel-toned upholstery, the atmosphere is both cozy and sophisticated. At the centerpiece lies a gleaming marble oyster bar with 20 seats where guests can witness expert shuckers skillfully opening fresh, sustainably sourced oysters right before their eyes.
The best dining experience we had in Charleston. We sat in front of the oyster bar and watched as all our dishes were prepared. Jerome expertly shucked the cleanest oysters we’ve ever eaten. Our favorite dish was the scallop crudo, but another honorable mention was the smoked fish with ham. Great atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable staff. Props to the team behind W.M. Mulherin’s in Philadelphia. Excited to see what you have in store next.

I had one night in Charleston and was picky about where to eat dinner. SO HAPPY I chose the Quinte Oyster Bar. It's such a cozy little place off King St, and, honestly, it's the best oysters I've ever had, and I've had a lot, up and down coasts all over the world. So fresh and tasty. The fish main course was delicious, I wouldn't change a thing. It was filling, savory and refreshing all at once while honoring the taste of the fish itself. The Panacotta dessert was the only one I had a bit of trouble with. It was delicious, but the yellow sauce on top tasted a bit too much like vinegar and I couldn't get past it. But it was super easy to move it to the side and really enjoy the panacotta itself with the delicious popcorn topping. The bar is very good, with a great bartender that really knows his stuff and can not only make cocktails, but suggests great wine pairings. I would 100% return here! Between two oysters, a cocktail, glass of wine, daily fish special and dessert, it was about $101 + taxes and tip. So not cheap, but worth the price if it's in your budget.
Beatriz A — Google review
Let me start with the food and service, which was overall great and have no complaints there. My friend and I dined here last week on the first night we arrived in Charleston. We had the snapper crudo, oysters, shrimp roll, the steamed grouper in a brown butter sauce and we avoided alcohol. We understand there’s always a risk with consuming raw or undercooked foods, but this is was not our first time eating raw fish and have never had an issue. Unfortunately, I came down with a crippling case of food poisoning hours later and had to be taken to the emergency room in an ambulance from our hotel. I was stunned when the doctor diagnosed me with food poisoning, because this place was very upscale. I tried to get ahold of the general manager, left messages but they have not contacted me back. I would say to the staff to take better care of food sourcing and handling so that future guests do not go through what I went though. I had to cancel a lot of my tours and pre-planned dinners because I was still getting over my food poisoning.

Our group enjoyed the hospitality, atmosphere, food and cocktails. The Quinte is an excellent side street gem. The entire staff was professional, knowledgeable and attentive from the time we arrived to closing time. It was obvious they were happy to be there and took pride in their work. The cocktails were complex and balanced. We tried a good portion of the menu and it was all fresh, of high quality and paced well . We enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to returning.

Loved the atmosphere of this place! Was greeted with a friendly hostess that was able to seat us at the bar on a Friday night. Quick and nice customer service which I love. We ordered two of their most popular drinks, the Speed of Light and Petal Pusher which were okay-both $15 and kind of tasted watered down unfortunately. Ordered the milk bread $7 and petite plateaux $85 which were both delicious! My favorite surprisingly was the shrimp cocktail and cocktail sauce which had cilantro and something else-best cocktail sauce I’ve ever tasted. Amazing oysters, tasty crudo, lobster was great and loved seeing how they torched it. Our bill ended up being $200 including tip for us both for everything mentioned plus 2 beers. I’ll have to remember to ask for club soda and not take them up on sparkling water ($10 for bottle), but we’ll definitely be back to this intimate spot!! Great raw bar!

10 years ago I thought a really nice dinner was Red lobster. Whoa! Now it takes alot to make me be taken by surprise. I am not hard to please but I am hard to be extremely impressed. For a couple of years now I have been following a guy we met as an oyster shucker. Now he is a Chef at The Quinte Oyster Bar. Jerome comes up with some of the greatest and beautiful plates I have ever seen! We were able to sample some of the upcoming menu and I was literally left speechless. Just look at these beautiful plates! And the Red Snapper made me stop breathing. After sampling almost 300 restaurants in the Charleston area, The Red Snapper is my favorite and I will be back for more. The Qwintie & Caviar is everything in an Caviar Service without any of the work! But believe me if you have to ask how much it is, you may not want this dessert. That is not just any Ole Caviar, that is Ossera Caviar. I promise you though the way it melts in your mouth, the sweet vs salty, worth every single penny! Please go check them out ♡ And let them know Miss Panda sent ya!

Sat at the bar Saturday evening. Had fantastic bartender - didn't get his name or I'd add a shout out. Knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Highly recommend hanging out at the bar. Had the flounder and the farro (note this is a cold dish!).

One of the worst and strangest dining experiences I can recall. Here’s a list of what all went wrong: - Waited 40 minutes after the reservation to be seated - Waited an additional 20 minutes after being seated to place orders. - Received 4 shrimp for $18. Note that this is $4.50 per shrimp, which is more than the oysters. - Portions were incredibly small. - Food all came out at different times. The person with 4 shrimp was finished well before the last person got their food. - The food is all barely what the menu describes it as. - The “ham” is thinly sliced cheese placed on top of sparse pieces of what is clearly prosciutto. - The “yellowfin tuna” is actually some sort of salsa mixed with raw pieces of tuna and (I kid you not) about a dozen Lays potato chips in a ramekin. - It was so dark the servers kept missing the glasses when pouring water. Pros: - The decor is nice, I guess. - The oysters were good - The wine was very good (but also $16 a glass) - The server was nice All in all about $200 down the drain. We were all still hungry after.

Nestled on Folly Road, CudaCo. Seafood House is a delightful blend of a fish market and an upscale lunch spot that perfectly caters to both locals and visitors alike. This charming establishment has carved out its niche as a go-to destination for seafood lovers, offering everything from their famous $10 Fish Sandwich—a crispy fried flounder filet served on a potato bun with pickles, hot sauce, and American cheese—to daily ceviche that many claim is the best in Charleston. CudaCo.
CudaCo Seafood House is an absolute hidden gem in Charleston! I’ve been living here for 2.5 years, and I honestly can’t believe this was my very first visit. The atmosphere has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes it a great spot to enjoy fresh seafood. I ordered the raw oysters, cooked crab, and fried calamari, and everything was absolutely amazing. The oysters were super fresh with that perfect briny flavor, the crab was tender, sweet, and full of rich taste, and the fried calamari was light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned—not greasy at all. You can really tell they take pride in the freshness and quality of their seafood. It’s rare to find a place that hits all the marks when it comes to flavor, portion, and presentation. I’m honestly kicking myself for not coming here sooner, but I’ll definitely be back again soon. This is a must-visit for any seafood lover in Charleston—no question about it!

As a group visiting from the north, we had no real experience with how to go about ordering food at a place like this, but the lady at the counter was extremely nice and explained the whole operation. I ended up with the Scallops PO Boy and the scallops just melted in my mouth. Everything in the case looked extremely fresh and I believe everything they claim about quality on the website. There is limited indoor seating, however it wasn't too smelly from the fish or anything and it was cool on a hot day. Outside they have a small picnic area by a creek that had the most spectacular evening sun view. I highly recommend anyone visiting to check this place out for the fresh and sustainable, casual, and cost effective seafood experience.

CudaCo. Seafood House is a must-visit spot for seafood lovers—everything is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between casual and upscale, with friendly staff who clearly know their seafood. Whether you're ordering oysters, lobster rolls, or one of their daily specials, you can taste the quality in every bite. The raw bar is especially impressive, and the rotating menu keeps things exciting. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving top-notch seafood!

To the person on Reddit who recommended this gem, BLESS YOU. If you love seafood, this spot is for you. Like, it’s unreal. The fresh seared fish + the mussels with bread so you can dip the perfect spicy curry sauce + the salmon & tuna with coconut rice bowl- all incredible! INCREDIBLE!!!! Not to mention the service. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Giving the best recommendations & the vibes were top tier, imagine “we want you here, please try this!” ✨ There was inside and outside seating + easy parking. Will be back, expeditiously.

First, came the oysters, fresh from the cold, deep waters. Each pearlescent half-shell held a morsel of briny, sweet ocean, to be slurped down with a whisper of lemon and a tiny burst of mignonette. The cool, crisp wine cut through the minerality, brightening the palate for the feast to come. Next, a crab cake arrived, golden and perfectly seared. It was less cake and more a monument to crab—pure, sweet lump meat, held together by the barest hint of seasoning and a delicate crust. With a fork, the exterior gave way to a warm, moist interior, each flaky strand of crab tasting of summer and salt. The prosecco’s light fruitiness and high acidity were the perfect foil for the rich, buttery crab, cleansing the palate with every sip. The final act was a fish fry, a glorious mound of crispy, fried fish. The flaky, tender whitefish, encased in a light and crunchy batter, was piping hot and utterly satisfying. A squeeze of lemon and a dash of tartar sauce completed the plate. The bubbles of the prosecco, still dancing on the tongue, lifted the richness of the fried food, making each bite feel as fresh as the first. It was a meal of simple pleasures, executed with flawless perfection, and elevated by the celebratory sparkle of the wine.

This fish market is one of the best around the Charleston area. The seafood is incredibly fresh and you can pick out your fish right from the case and have it made into a delicious sandwich, or take it home to cook yourself. Everything tastes like it was just caught that morning. The poke bowls are amazing, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. They’ve also got a great selection of refrigerated items to grab and go. And if you’re dining in, they serve beer and wine, which makes the whole experience even better. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch, picking up dinner, or just browsing their daily catch, Cudaco never disappoints. Friendly staff, top-quality seafood, and an easy coastal vibe. Everything you want in a local fish market.

I’ve been drooling over my phone since I came across CudaCo Seafood House a while back. Having grown up in the Florida Keys, I’m definitely spoiled. I finally made the trip from the mountains and this was our first stop. We tried a few things off their menu and everything was *chefs kiss*… we went back two more times. The quality lived up to the hype, the selections over exceeded- fresh live crawdads? Yes please! Multiple oyster selections, a variety of filets! The service was true southern hospitality. We spent a good hour talking to the staff, loaded up our cooler and I’ve been dreaming of going back ever since. Not only do they know what they’re doing with seafood, hugs were shared when we learned they had contributed to some relief work here in Asheville after the flood… support good people that care about others and the earth ❤️

This is my favorite kind of place, authentic, focused on one kind of food and unique. A fish market that cooks up whatever is fresh to eat there or at tables set behind the store and parking lot. We tried a lot, loved it all…the fresh catch beautifully pan seared and with a delish Asian slaw, the whitefish salad served with fresh veggie slices, the peeler shrimp and the calamari with remoulade sauce. The kind of place you tell people who love fish about

Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar is a casual, family-friendly spot that offers a variety of steamed and raw shellfish, wings, and beers in an unpretentious setting. While some patrons found the service to be inconsistent, others praised the attentive staff and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features fantastic raw oysters along with other delicious options like crab dip, shrimp, and wings. The outdoor patio provides a perfect setting for enjoying a meal and drinks.
The food and service was excellent!! Started with the crab balls, my lady had the shrimp basket and I had the fish and chips. Everything was excellent. Only one problem, they don't take reservations, so if you have a large group you might have wait a bit.

Loved visiting the shuckin shack for the first time while on vacation recently. Clean, airy, beachy vibe, very friendly and prompt server. I got the Mahi Mahi salad with honey mustard dressing. I also ordered oysters on the half shell which tasted like the ocean itself, super fresh!! Good size portion, highly recommended, so shuckin good!!

I can't say enough about this place. The oysters were delicious. My wife had the shrimp tacos. The service was great and the atmosphere was everything you want in a seafood restaurant/ oyster bar.

Was excited to try this place since we’ve been to the one in Surf City, NC and love that one. We were most excited to try the oysters and ordered 2 dozen. However, we were disappointed to find that many of the oysters were really, REALLY dirty and a lot of them had gone bad. I understand that dirt is a natural occurrence, but a simple blast of water would’ve helped the excessive debris. This inadequate cleaning was just due to laziness. When we asked our waitress about this she was just like “yeah they don’t clean them.” Service was slow. We were never given refills. Also, our waitress said that a big party had just came in and was rushing us to order. This was very unprofessional. Wouldn’t come here again.

I was unsure of the food because it had the feel of a sports bar. I had a salad with crab balls. I was shocked at how amazing it was and the size. I was pleased with the server. She was polite and friendly. She forgot my extra salad dressing. She immediately got it, we had a laugh and apologize later. She has a beautiful personality.

Love our West Ashley location! I get the fried oysters every time. The best thing about the restaurant is CONSISTENCY which is incredibly hard to find. There are two problems - neither of which have to do with the food (which is good!). 1) Unfortunately it is SO LOUD inside you cannot have a conversation with your own party. They seriously need to put up more sound absorbers on the walls. For THAT reason only, we now always order take out. When you order take out, there is no dedicated spot to let anyone know you're there and ready to get your food. The bar area is full of patrons and there is no space to 'slip in' and get the attention of the staff. That puts you right in the middle of the main walkthrough with servers giving you dirty looks because you're blocking the way. PLEASE designate a spot for pick up so we don't have to wait to get just ANYONE's attention who will take payment so you can get out out of their way! Still worth ordering their food!

Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina offers nautical-themed rooms, some with harbor views, and a range of amenities for a waterfront lifestyle experience. The LEED-certified hotel is located near the Cooper River and USS Yorktown, offering boat excursions, water taxi access to downtown, and sailing lessons. Guests can enjoy waterside views from almost every room, along with outdoor lounges, fire pits, and cabanas overlooking the Ravenel Bridge.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. Wonderful welcoming staff, the resort and rooms are vibrant and bright just wish that breakfast was included instead of the extra charge. Otherwise highly recommend.

This place was very clean, and the atmosphere was just as great. I’m glad I chose to stay here instead of being right in the heart of downtown. The walking trails were a pleasant surprise — they were much nicer than I expected. You can even sign out bikes, which are included as part of the amenities. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the Keurigs for those who enjoy coffee or hot cocoa! The hotel is located within walking distance of the USS Laffey and the USS Yorktown Museum. If you’re a servicemember and wear your uniform, admission is free. I would definitely stay here again. There's a shuttle that you can get on that'll take you downtown for free and it's only about 15 minutes max.

The staff were surprisingly very young knowledgeable, polite professionals. Our room was very clean. We had a good night sleep. The coffee machine by reception was oddly yum. There’s a hot tub! You get a free ice cream at the Marina Store. You have to get a ticket from reception to drive off the property. The TV is really slow, you can’t Cast.

I have stayed at both harbor side and beach club side- this weekend I have a room on the harbor side- im not sure what has happened but I have seen 2 star hotels in better shape. Please save your money and time and do not book on this side- book on the beach club side. Our shower doesnt work, the hot water sucks our "balcony" is a sliding door window. The bathtub took 52 minutes to fill up- this is not acceptable on any level. The room and the bathroom are the smallest I have seen on property. I have a king superior room- when I called they assured me it was a large room, large bathroom with a view of the bridge. I cant see the bridge but I can see the maintenance tent. The elevators look like motel 8 elevators, the floors are filthy. I completely regret spending $1200 for 3 nights here. This has put a major damper on my weekend and now instead of being able to enjoy my room especially with tje rain, instead im stuck trying to find indoor things to do just so im only in the room to sleep.

Location is absolutely beautiful. But, we had a miserable stay. The resort allows dogs but if they make a sound we are being threatened charges that are not specified in the resort dog policy. We asked to move rooms if possible, that wasn’t accommodated. We didn’t want to have to bring our dogs — our sitter canceled on us. This hotel has been nothing but frustrating. The staff is rude. We heard them talking poorly about us at the front desk. Won’t be back.
Jessica V — Google review
Our room was in the Harbor side of the resort. It was quite a bit older and the room was in rough shape. The atmosphere was quaint, but our specific room was not the best. The biggest issue was the shower/bathroom. We COULD NOT keep hot water in our very very small shower. It kept fluctuating between warm and cold. I would probably give this location another chance, only at the beach side of the resort. The entire building was newer and felt more upscale. Overall, I would not stay here again for the cost of the room, given the status of our specific room. Adjusting my original post now that we have checked out- I absolutely would NOT stay here again. We booked through Expedia and then were charged a $40/day AMENITIES fee. There was no breakfast, just coffee machines, nice pools but it was November. We were never told about an amenities fee. So sad, because the location is great, but shady practices after we CHOSE your hotel for our memories and visit.
Theresa W — Google review
There are 2 'sides' at the resort; Harbor and Marina. The Harbor is roughly 10 years older than the Marina and it's clear based on building and room conditions. Not to mention the room rate. We stayed on the Harbor side while we attended a wedding. Room was adequate but nothing fancy. There was very limited closet space to hang suits, dresses, shirts, etc. No luggage rack although there was an iron but no ironing board. Staff were friendly and professional. Reasonably nice view overlooking the pool facing the water. Balcony is very close to other rooms which means their conversation outside is your conversation.
Greg H — Google review
We had high hopes for this resort based on marketing materials and other reviews. Our experience was disappointing however. Front desk service was good and any staff was friendly and helpful. Found our room and immediately determined it to be very cold inside (60°). We were unable to change it as the the heater feature was not working. Contacted guest services to help. The maintenance engineer showed up fairly shortly, however stated the unit was not working correctly and offered a space heater. We contacted guest services for an alternate room which they provided. This was an improvement. The room overall was acceptable but clearly dated. Beds were reasonable. The view of the harbor was the highpoint to be sure. The bathroom was again, adequate but also dated and needed TLC. The shower pressure was weak, the soap dispenseres did not work properly, the mirror was cracked, and the shower glass devider was held In place by only 2 screws. The bathroom door would not close all the way and could not be locked. The resort provided free coffee, which was a positive. The overall feel was that this resort may have been an absolute jewel in its prime, but now feels tired and limited by attention and funding. It's in an amazing location, with stunning views of the harbor and surrounding areas. The only other draw back was an incident in the room next ours at 3:00 am with a domestic disturbance requiring law enforcement intervention. For what you pay to stay here, its not unreasonable to expect better.

Despite the casual atmosphere, the food is delicious and prepared efficiently even during busy times. The restaurant exudes an island vibe and features delectable Southern specialties. While the drinks are on the smaller side, the friendly service adds to the overall positive dining experience.
We were there on the 4 July. It was very hot outside, but we loved it. The place is not fancy, but good, the food was tasty and we didn't wait a long time for it to be prepared, although it was crowded. Our server was great, I wish I remembered her name, very sweet blond lady, who was crazy busy running around, but was still nice and fulfilled our request without a grin. The hostess was grumpy. Other thing that we kinda didn't like is that the drinks were small. But if we ever go back to Charleston this is place we would visit again.

Great location at the end of the Charleston market. They have a decent beer selection. The decor is great for a casual place. The food is just ok. The oysters were not that good. We expected better from a seaside town. All the food is fried so take it FWIW.

Felix Cocktails et Cuisine is a charming French brasserie that offers a romantic Parisian-inspired dining experience. The restaurant serves up delicious seafood and steak sharing plates, accompanied by an array of versatile cocktails and wines by the glass. The interior exudes elegance, with neutral-toned furniture accented by pops of blue, creating a picturesque setting for diners.
We dined for lunch and overall enjoyed the experience. The highlights for me, were the French onion soup, Brussels sprouts, Parmesan Truffle fries. The French onion soup was cheesy, with a rich flavor of the soup and chunks of bread. So good!!! The Brussels were crispy with a delicious balsamic flavor. My mom liked the arugula/pecan salad as well. I also ordered the mushroom pasta. Not a fan of this dish. The mushrooms on top were flavorful, but the pasta sauce was tasteless. Also tried the burger. It was very juicy but the sauce on the burger reminded me of the gravy from a Salisbury steak dish. If that’s your preference, then this is your dish.

Nice little upscale french restaurant on the northern side of king street. Visited here with a group of 8 on a sunday and had no problem getting a table. The deviled eggs were delicious to start with, as was the French onion soup. I got the white wine mussels for dinner, which was decent; mussles were a little big for me, but the broth and bread were very good. My wife got the caesar salad which was also very good and had pickled onions for a different twist. Overall a nice French spot to try while in town.

Hands down the best espresso martini we’ve ever had! The Caesar salad with chicken was absolutely delicious—especially the Parmesan crisp, which added the perfect touch. The burger? To die for. Hotel Bella Grace is a stylish accommodation housed in the historic Delaney House, which dates back to circa 1830. This boutique hotel seamlessly combines modern amenities with over two centuries of Charleston's rich history. The property offers 50 guest rooms and suites, each featuring full kitchens, Italian coffee machines, and living rooms.
What a cute hidden Marriott gem in heart of downtown walking distance to everything. The hotel is so clean and smells great. The staff makes you feel like family they upgraded us to a large room with a full kitchen. We enjoyed the best dinner at their restaurant the Delaney. We will definitely return when we visit our son a college .

Great hotel in the heart of downtown charleston, near King Street shopping and restaurants, but off the beaten path enough that it seems more quiet. Smaller hotel but they seem to go above and beyond to create a boutique like experience but still maintaining Marriott values. Had one issue with a coat that was left in the room. I was told that it was never found which means that someone took it. At this point, there's nothing I can do about it but is a little frustrating. Would still highly recommend the hotel itself.

This hotel was a very nice change from the usual Marriott. Very comfortable, well maintained, and charming in many ways. The associated restaurant was excellent, with great service, and very good food. On the other hand, the up-charges by Marriott properties are completely out of hand. For this property, there's only one option for parking your car - with the valet - and they charge $55 for an overnight. This is reminiscent of the "destination charges" that many other Marriott properties force you to eat, and makes you feel like you are being gouged despite the other fine attributes of the property.

This is mine and my husband hotel of choice. We've stayed five times plus each visit being incredible. I'm a Ritz Carlton fan due to level of personal service. The staff is incredible and sets and exceeds that high level of service I demand and expect. Take the fact its a Residence Inn out of the equation. I have no issue with the brand however Bella Grace delivers a close to five star personal experience. Each stay we would ask the staff for there personal recommendations of restaurants and such. Each visit I was addressed as Mr Carino. This was an incredible personal touch that made me and my husband feel valued and special. They connect personally with the guests and yes as they get to know you and learn about you refer you to things they know you will enjoy. My husband picked the hotel as he's an interior designer and the hotel decor was featured in a magazine he reads. Each room has its own identity, fantastic art work in the lobby to the rooms with rooms featuring all types of decor and design. The hotel dead on hits the boutique meaning and level of comfort I expect. I'm now Gold for Life, at the times of visits was Titanium or Platinum. Located next to the hotel is James Beard recipient Delanys Oyster Bar which like the hotel meets guests the highest standards of guest experience. Add to this fantastic food and drink. The hotel is a walk to everything so once we valet we no longer need the car. The staff was always recommending us to places they thought we would enjoy which was based off them getting to know us. I can't say enough great things. I've opened restaurants around the world and am the namesake of a chain that in its peak had over two hundred locations. Customer service so very much lacking today is a personal goal I set for every guest and client myself and my staff strive for everyday. I Mention this as the hotel represents and exceeds my expectations on every level. If your considering hotels you wont be disappointed choosing Hotel Bella Grace

Mediocre at best. I will say the location is great. Aside from that it was on going problems. We experienced a rattling vibration throughout our room during our stay. It got so bad to the point our light fixtures would rattle and glasses made noises. After two nights of this and continued interrupted sleep we addressed the front desk. They claimed they didn’t know what it could possibly be, seems now to be an on going issue other travelers experienced. First room had other issues throughout including faulty iron, headboard wasn’t secure and rattled. Kitchen sink did not drain due to the fact it was clogged and disposal did not work. Found it odd that ice was only available upon request even though each room has a freezer. You should know that you will be charged daily for valet parking. We did not know that upon booking. Over all, the entire rattling situation was enough to make us miserable and tired the entire stay. Spend your money somewhere else

I stayed here a couple weeks ago and had an issue with the room. I was told a manager would reach out to me but it never happened. I did a follow up call and was put on hold only to get a rude response saying to look out for a manager to contact me. I am an elite member and was treated horribly. Staff at other hotels in the area are much better. For a luxury hotel the service is not up to standard. Room was okay but will be avoiding this place in the future. I’m not one to leave a negative review but I feel like I need to say something.

Business owner offers excuses many days later. We did not get an upgraded even with extra points paid for the upgrade. Would not take illness as a refund from a nearly 70 year old, high level Marriott rewards member. Even after two emails from Marriott Ambassador service. STAY at The Courtyard next door. Terrible experience. Would not refund pts to a high level Marriott rewards person who wanted to leave early, due to illness. Would not return extra points paid. Paid for an extra upgrade with points and still felt the room was just average. Not your usual residence inn. Staff is horrible for anyone over 30. No amenities and even the restaurant across the drive did not give the hotel good reviews. Close to Kings street but go to the Courtyard next door.

The staff here is amazing and so responsive. I asked for a blanket and within minutes they were knocking on my door with a lovely blanket! It is very cute and the rooms are very nice.

Seafood market
Abundant Seafood, situated in Mt. Pleasant, is a go-to spot for sustainably caught seafood. The market offers a community-supported fishery share program that provides customers with fresh seafood on a regular basis. Customers rave about the top-notch quality of the seafood and the personalized service provided by the knowledgeable staff. The market prides itself on offering sustainably harvested and well-handled fish, making it a favorite among locals and chefs alike.
Love a nice fresh from the sea snappers (pink, whole or red). It doesn’t matter I love them all. The owner work very hard and has great customer service. My first time here will definitely return and will make my favorite seafood market.

Excellence. Mark Mahevca is a master purveyor of the best seafood available. Don’t go anywhere else!

Absolutely the freshest seafood in town. Straight off the boat and cut to order, you can't beat this for your fish. Also check out Geechie seafood which is literally 20 feet away for the freshest shrimp!
Michael G — Google review
When we moved here, we were excited about finding a fish market. We stumbled upon this one and 4 years later will not buy our fish anywhere else. The freshest, they cut it like you like it and it's well worth the price. We always have enough for a few meals no matter what we buy. Check it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Amanda B — Google review
We only buy seafood from Abundant, and have many memories with our young son going to the "fish store" in Park Circle. Sad it is closed now, but we drive to Mount Pleasant now because there is no better place to get fresh seafood!
Ginger S — Google review
So fresh, so delicious. We got tuna, some white fish, and a “collar” all super amazing.

There is no fresher well taken care of fish in Charleston. Everything is sustainably harvested and treated with respect. Mark and his family are amazing people doing amazing work. If you don't shop for your fish here, you are truly missing out. As a Chef, I can tell you, there is no equal.

The best grouper we've ever had. No wonder they supply the finest restaurants in Charleston. The new store in North Charleston makes it even easier to have the freshest seafood anytime we want it. Thanks Mark.

Nestled in the heart of Charleston's bustling Market Street, Port of Call is a vibrant food hall that has quickly become a must-visit destination since its inception in 2021. This lively spot features an array of artisan food vendors, including the delightful Empire Oyster Temple & Raw Lab, which offers an impressive selection of oysters and traditional accompaniments. Whether you're craving fresh seafood or something to satisfy every palate in your group, Port of Call has you covered.
This is a really nice place. Only complaint is a lack of basic kitchen spices and oils. Other than that, this is an excellent rental.

Beware of Palmetto bugs (aka ROACHES)!! Coming from the Midwest roaches are not a common occurrence. I do know that the south has them and they can be in your home. So finding 2-3 the first few days was not an issue. Until we come home from dinner and drinks on our last night to find 20+ (all sizes) coming out of the island in the kitchen. Coming from sink, dishwasher, garbage, etc. Even while people were sitting at the counter. Needless to say our last night on property was not enjoyable. The house is huge and is newly remodeled. All that considered, I feel it needs a good cleaning. Towels had a weird smell, hairs found on bedding, washer is rusty and smelled of rotten eggs. The house does have a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice walk to it.
Kelly M — Google review
The house is beautiful and you can’t beat the view, but we didn’t anticipate the roach infestation as a part of our stay especially at that price! They started from the moment we walked in and progressively got worse until we left 3 days later! They were crawling out of the dishwashers, from the sink, from under the cabinets, etc. Most of our groceries were wasted b/c who wants to cook or hang out in a kitchen with roaches darting out...and they were quite large and fast suckers! The response from management was less than stellar “we did see 3 dead ones the day you left...you didn’t let us know until the day you were leaving....we can’t replicate the issue therefore we won’t offer any kind of refund”. My advice...find a different house and a different management company to work with! There are many beautiful options on Isle of Palms...when you spend that kind of money, you deserve better service and a cleaner house (I didn’t even mention the curly hairs on the pillow and bedding in one of the bedrooms).
