Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar is a sleek spot offering classic and contemporary Southern seafood fare in Charleston. Housed in a 1940s retired naval building, the restaurant celebrates the area's waterfront heritage with stunning views of Charleston Harbor. The menu features crowd-pleasers like shrimp and lobster-stuffed hushpuppies, and the restaurant is committed to sustainable seafood practices.
Went with hubby on a Monday for lunch. We had a reservation, but had to wait a wee bit for the table to be ready. We were seated outside and it was a glorious day for it. Tripp, our server, was awesome. He was attentive and prompt with answering questions, refilling water glasses and checking on us. For our starters we had the fried steak calamari and the snow crab claws and, omigosh, they were scrumptious!!!! For entrée, my hubby had the salmon with Carolina red rice and coleslaw while I had the catch of the day, Mahi with Carolina red rice and collard greens. I did not even leave a grain of rice on my plate; the dish blew my taste buds away. I also had a painkiller cocktail with lunch. I'm so glad we went to Fleet Landing. Can't wait to go back next time I visit South Carolina 🤗

Mary was an awesome server. Patient, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The good was excellent. Gumbo, She Crab Soup, seafood pasta all very tasty. The old fashioned was flavorful and done right. Great oyster selection.

Why in charleston wanted to try indifferent seafood restaurant..so we landed on fleet landing. There was construction going on. So had to park and walk. And it was an eye sore. We get there. We were greeted right away. They have in door and out door seating. If the temperature permits...I suggest outdoor. Or at least near the windows. They have nice views. Right on the water. The service was nice. No complaints.. food was brought out pretty quick. And tasted good. Prices were roughly 20 to 30 pp...on average. For a entree... but overall. It was decent it was good. No real complaints. I definitely reccomend this spot of you a seafood lover.
Rodney E — Google review
She crab soup was delicious and a large portion for the price. Crab leg cocktail was good but it tasted like it was frozen, not fresh. Key lime pie was quite good. Service was good, not great, but they were also very busy. Still done with a smile and quite friendly.

My dad and I went here today for lunch and sat outside. Our server Andrew was great. He was on top of things and very polite and helpful, while also bringing his own personality to the service. He helped us pick out which varieties of raw oysters to get, all of which were great, and was very patient with my multitude of questions. I got the crab claw cocktail and my dad got the fried oyster platter, we both enjoyed our entrees immensely (the crab claw cocktail is not meant to be an entree but was just enough for me with the stuffed hushpuppies and oysters). I will say right now there’s construction happening next to the restaurant so be prepared for some of that noise if you choose to sit outside, but it didn’t take away from our experience at all.
Vikki K — Google review
Cannot speak highly enough about the staff of this restaurant! From the moment you walk in the hostess was incredibly kind and got us seated quickly at the Oyster bar! The three people running the bar were awesome all of them were great and wished us a happy anniversary! Highly recommend trying the tuna tartare and the key lime pie both are amazing!

Fleet Landing delivered an amazing waterfront dining experience! The seafood tower was fresh and impressive, perfect for sharing. The fried flounder basket was golden, crispy, and delicious. Great flavors, generous portions, and stunning harbor views with an appearance from dolphins!

Saltwater Cowboys is a popular restaurant located on Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant, offering a diverse menu of slow-smoked BBQ, fresh seafood, and a variety of drinks. The venue provides indoor and waterfront seating with the option to relax at one of the two outside bars while waiting for a table. Known for its fantastic water views, locally sourced seafood, live music, and vibrant atmosphere, it's a favorite among locals seeking a waterfront dining experience.
Went here after a kayaking tour and this place was the highlight of our trip! First of all the view of the water is stunning! We saw so many dolphins while we were eating! I had the BEST trash can nachos of my life. Get the smoked turkey it was so juicy and flavorful. Their sweet tea was also one of the best we tried all trip! I also got the chopped salad with shrimp and it was just enough food to split with my mom. Our waiter was wonderful! I give this place 10/10!

This place has it all!! First of all I've visited twice so far and each time my family was treated very well. My son is handicapped and they were able to accommodate our seating for him. The food is soooo good!! My son has had the cowboy burger and sweet potato fries each time we came. He gorges himself until he can't eat another bite. (He's 4) I got the brisket and smoked wings. Both are very good but I've got to say the brisket is DeEeEe- licoius!! I'm not normally a Brisket person but theres something about this that is just (Italian miss)! The collard greens are very good as well. As we were in our way out another group of women was suggesting to try the coconut cake next time. They mentioned it was so big all 3 of them are off of it and it was the best they have had- just putting that here for someone wanting to know what to get for desert. Oh and the view.... Amazing! I will say that if you come in the evening during sunset the upstairs dining area gets pretty warm from the sun beaming through the windows. (Hopefully they can add some fans at some point) We're going to be in the area for a few more days and will definitely be back!!!

Highly recommend this Gem of a place. If you love sitting outside with a view of the water and boats passing, this is a must visit. The special cocktail 🍹, the seafood appetizer and meals were all A+. Can't say enough about the place and there is plenty of room out on the deck to set. The wait staff were friendly, checked on us several times and even brought my son's family dog water, a snack and scarf for her neck. 2 out of 10, they get a 14 !!!!

Great place to eat! Right on the water, great staff. The nachos look great-wish we had ordered them. The brussel sprouts were amazing. I had the creek bowl-filled with great stuff but lacking in flavor. The pulled pork and brisket tacos were really good.
Gina H — Google review
The view and service was amazing! The drinks were great. The food was good. The trashcan nachos were a great presentation. The chips do tend to get soggy pretty quick. A suggestion would be to maybe have a little bit of the chips on the outside the can to have some solid chips. The brussel sprouts were my hands down favorite. The fried green tomatoes were well done & the sauce was a wonderful balance. The shrimp were perfectly cooked & the sauce had a great balance of spicy and sweet.
Melinda W — Google review
Brooklyn & Madison got us the perfect table at the bay, & Carter our waiter was spot on with great service. The music group Relay Relay played wonderful, to set a perfect sunset evening. Highly recommended this place. The Smoked wings were the best.
Marty W — Google review
Great dog friendly restaurant. We were seared quickly even with a line, food was good, but service was a little slow. They were very busy though, so I cant complain. Staff was very inviting and they even have a "dog menu" not to mention the drinks and view were fantastic

This was a pretty cool place on the inlet water way on Shem’s Creek. The food was really good, atmosphere was great although we ate on the dark on the rooftop. Had beautiful views of the inlet.

New American restaurant
Bar
Family restaurant
Tavern & Table is a casual yet stylish restaurant located on the waterfront of Mount Pleasant's Shem Creek. It offers a locally sourced New American menu with a variety of options, including shareable snacks, cheese and meat boards, small plates, brick oven flatbreads, fresh-ground burgers, sandwich melts, and seafood and meat mains. The restaurant prides itself on its diverse selection of elevated cuisine prepared by Chef Katie Lorenzen-Smith.
Made a reservation and got sat immediately. If you order anything, you have to order the fire roasted oysters and burnt end mac and cheese. When I tell you those oysters were some of the best I have ever had… I thoroughly enjoyed the parmesan and bacon on them. The mac and cheese was decadent and rich and they were not stingy with the brisket on top. Great service as well. Highly recommend!
Genesis S — Google review
Fantastic spot right on the water during sunset, (we even saw Dolphins!). We loved the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Dynamite Shrimp, Crab & Artichoke Dip, and Fire Roasted Oysters appetizers. Out of the group of six of us, we all decided the Sweet Corn + Leek Ravioli entree was the best out of everything else we got. The swordfish was close second, but other than that, nothing compared. The only disappointing part of the experience was the rude service. Our server did not write anything down and we didn't notice/care about that until she brought out the wrong items multiple times. For example, someone in my party pointed at the appetizers section on the menu and ordered the fire-roasted oysters. Plain oysters came out instead from a server assistant, then once we told our waitress (30 seconds later and untouched), she proceeded to tell us we were wrong and that we did not say the fire-roasted oysters originally, and gave us an attitude. We are a very easygoing group, but we did not appreciate the change in her service once he addressed a few incorrect drinks and food swaps. However, the atmosphere and food still made this a great dinner spot!
Kelsey C — Google review
The burger is the best item on the menu!!! Don't waste your time. Plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from. Don't let the location fool you. The service was awesome. The flatbed was soggy. The steak had a weird flavor and the temp we asked for was medium, came to the table rare. Tough!!! Let's just say, skip it.
Belinda F — Google review
TLDR: The only thing worth the price (during lunch) was thir amazing Dynamite shrimp. Cocktails weren't great, service is good. Expensive and TBH not worth the price during lunch (other than the FANTASTIC Dynamite shrimp appetizer). Perhaps it's better quality during dinner? The scenery is nice, as in the atmosphere being nice and close to the water. The view being blocked mostly by thick dark pieces of wood was disappointing when they could have easily replaced that with something thinner and sturdy, but all in all a good atmosphere. Service was great, the waiter frequently asked about if there was anything that he could get us and was kind. Two appetizers, two entrees, two drinks, $130 with 22% tip...
Michael K — Google review
Our late lunch here was very good. Nice beer selection, the ahi tuna poke bowls were delicious, the dolphin appearances were a bonus. Our service was just ok, unfortunately.
Judi H — Google review
First time visiting. All I can say is AMAZING!! We were seated quickly inside by the window. Came during Sunday brunch. Atmosphere was very relaxing and chill. Our server, Milen Kostov from Bulgaria was on top of great service. He was very informative, knowledgeable, about the menu. We had the shrimp and grits which was savory, spicy and flavorful. And also the Smoked salmon on toast which was filling and delicious. A total 5 star! You won't be disappointed!
Rhonda J — Google review
I came to eat here for the first time and was really looking forward to the experience. I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, the artichoke crab dip, and the Bolognese. The oysters were very fresh and delicious, easily the highlight of the meal. The artichoke crab dip was also surprisingly good. I wasn’t sure how those flavors would mix together, but it ended up being really tasty and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the Bolognese was where I was most let down. The sauce was very heavy and not what I expected. The pasta was also slightly undercooked, which made it less enjoyable overall. The person I was with and I split the entrée, and as shown in the photo, there is a clear before and after comparison showing how little we ate before deciding to stop because neither of us liked it. The service was also disappointing. Our server greeted us, brought our drinks and food, and later brought the check, but there was no real engagement beyond that. He never came back to check if we liked our food, which would have been helpful with the Bolognese since we would have gladly tried something else had we been checked on. The plate sat in front of us for about 20 minutes untouched before the server returned to ask if we were finished. We let him know we didn’t like the dish, but instead of asking what was wrong, offering something different, or trying to make it right, he simply said “okay” and took the plate away. When the check came, I was surprised to see that the Bolognese was still included on the bill, even though we had barely touched it and clearly expressed that we didn’t like it. As someone who also works as a server, I know how important it is to show care for the guest’s experience and at least attempt to make it right. It was disappointing to see that kind of service here. Overall, I was pleased with the oysters, the dip, and the drinks, but the main course and service experience were not up to the standard I expected. I’m sharing this in a constructive way, not to be malicious, and have chosen not to include the server’s name out of respect. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve, because the food that was good was really good, and the place has potential to offer a great overall dining experience with a bit more attention to detail and guest care.
Seabass — Google review
A group of six of us sat for brunch last weekend and it was lovely! I particularly wanted to leave a review for the service. Though I didn't get our server's name, he made great, timely service look easy and approachable and it did not go unnoticed. As a first time visitor I look forward to coming back and sitting on the deck next time!

Seafood restaurant
Bowens Island Restaurant is a beloved waterfront eatery that has been serving up fresh seafood since 1946. Despite the loss of its original building in 2012, locals and visitors still flock to this spot between James Island and Folly Beach for its local seafood dishes and picturesque sunset views at the end of a gravel road. The restaurant is known for its authentic oyster roast experience, making it a popular venue for reunions, parties, and even wedding receptions.
The food was good, with a huge amount of shrimp on our fish and shrimp plate. The restaurant itself is rustic, mostly open air, and a great place if you like those kinds of places which we do. The sunset is awesome there, but get there early enough to get a good seat. Large bar area.
Wayne B — Google review
The food is all fried. But, if you like oysters this is your place. It has one of the best views for sunset. Plenty of parking and everyone is very nice. It really is a good place for all visitors to come- they also do kayak and boat tours from here. It’s South Carolina- for sure! It’s not a swanky place- casual clothes and bug spray!
Cindy S — Google review
A hidden gem! If there’s a long line, grab a beer and enjoy the views! Absolutely everything is delicious. The best fried seafood I’ve ever had (I’m not big on fried food). The fried shrimp and fish are amazing. The crab dip is fantastic. Crab cakes are huge and tasty. Can’t beat washing it down with a cold beer or cocktail, all perfect with the open air, marshy beach vibe. Beautiful location with 360 views, open and low key atmosphere. Enjoy the breeze while you wait for your food. Can’t recommend enough!
Katie O — Google review
Best fried shrimp I've ever had, by far. Perfect combination of salt balancing the delicate sweetness of the shrimp with just a light coating of breading for crunch. The service...well...it matches the facilities. If you're looking for someone to shower you with praise or southern syrupy sweetness, this is not the restaurant you're looking for. If you want kickass seafood, come here.
Philip P — Google review
Overall great experience. The staff was nice. I got the fish and shrimp platter. It was delicious and lightly battered. My husband got the seafood platter with 2 crab cakes, shrimp, and fish. My favorite was the fish, it was the best tender melt in your mouth flounder I ever tasted.
Darcell J — Google review
I was afraid to check it out after reading the negative reviews but I am glad I did. It was busy, waited in line to order and food took a little longer than I would have expected. Oysters on the half shell were great. Shrimp and grits were tasty. I found a quiet seat in the raw bar with a great view, which might have made it a little harder to find me and my number. Ontario in the raw bar was super friendly and took good care of everyone there.
Melissa F — Google review
Good, fresh seafood. You can tell the difference from this and most restaurants. Restaurant has a rustic, homey local vibe, not fancy. Good variety of choices, everything we had we enjoyed. Wish the slaw came in bigger cups!!
Ralph K — Google review
Cafeteria style, order at window, find a seat (no hostess), always busy and popular with the locals, because food is great, but limited local fish/shellfish menu. By the time you order, you can usually find a table, because tables turn over quite quickly. Beautiful spot off the beaten path, so worth the stop if you like seafood!

Restaurant
The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene is a casual seafood restaurant located in Mount Pleasant's Old Village, known for its picturesque creek views and simple yet delicious Lowcountry-style fried seafood. The restaurant's name pays homage to a trawler that was thrown ashore during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Despite its shabby exterior, the kitchen serves up Southern favorites like boiled peanuts, fried shrimp, and stone-crab claws.
If you’re chasing the real deal when it comes to fried shrimp, The Wreck of Richard and Darlene is it. No frills, no fuss — just perfectly golden, lightly battered shrimp done right. • Shrimp: Local, fresh, and fried to crispy perfection without being greasy. Salty, sweet, briny — everything lowcountry seafood should be. • Atmosphere: Casual waterfront vibes with just enough grit to remind you you’re in a working harbor, not a tourist trap. • Service: Friendly, fast, and no-nonsense. • Bonus: Cold beer, hush puppies that slap, and sunsets that feel like a reward. Come for the shrimp, stay for the vibe. This place delivers exactly what it promises — a five-star local experience.

Only went here to take pictures because of watching the show the Outer Banks. Definitely looks like an Old school local restaurant. And a really cool fishing boat named the Playboy. I wish we could have eaten there but it didn't open until 5:00.
Don E — Google review
If you’re anywhere near Charleston, you must visit The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene. It doesn’t get more authentic than this — right on the water, laid-back atmosphere, and some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. We had the shrimp and scallops, and both were absolutely perfect. Cooked just right, and seasoned with what I can only describe as their signature house herb mix — subtle, aromatic, and spot on. The shrimp come straight from the local fisherman next door, who also sells fresh seafood. Seriously, bring a cooler — eat first, then walk over and grab some fresh-off-the-boat shrimp for home. The vibe is super relaxed: yes, you’re eating on paper plates, but who cares when the food is this good? Honestly, I’ll take flavorful and real over fancy and forgettable any day. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Pro tip: come at sunset. The view is unreal — golden light over the marshes, boats swaying in the harbor… it’s pure coastal magic. Fun fact: several scenes from the Netflix series Outer Banks were filmed right here, and once you’re there, you’ll see why. Highly recommend. We’d come back in a heartbeat. This is one of those rare spots that gets everything right — from the food, to the setting, to the soul.
Julian D — Google review
I had been wanting to eat here. We came for dinner around 6:45 and I was disappointed that we couldn’t eat outside. It was a beautiful sunny day with a gorgeous sunset. Not too hot and humid. Honestly perfect night. You can have a drink outside but couldn’t eat dinner. We waited about 15 min for a table. We were seated. Friendly service. Ordered drinks and we ordered a play seafood platter and a triple combination (grilled). Big portions. Seafood and hush puppies were good. Rice was over salted. It’s nothing to write home about on the inside, I guess that’s where Wreck comes into play. But service, once we were seated was good and on point.
Sabine M — Google review
It was closed with a short note on the door. They could have saved me a trip from West Ashley by putting it on their website which I visited several times prior to coming over. The building wasn’t in very good condition. The chairs and tables were ragged. There was a good parking lot- if only. This was a location that the OBX were filmed so came here with a big group for dinner- but they were closed.
Cindy S — Google review
This is truly an amazing and delightful place! The food is all fresh and caught from Shem Creek! It is a little pricy and the service is quick but not that quick! The food and atmosphere is amazing and a lovely view of Shem Creek! The video attached is there amazing rice!

9/10/25 Interesting entrance…the restaurant was clean and funky. Meal served on paper plates. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. The shrimp was so fresh and delicious. Ice tea was cold and delicious. You can see the fishing boats coming and going. Try the key lime bread pudding! We enjoyed our meal at this funky place.

I grew up on shem creek so I am a little biased but, this is how seafood is supposed to be. The service staff and kitchen are amazing. This is the ultimate seafood experience. They serve true local shrimp and it says it right on the front door, "we get our shrimp from next door". A most when visiting Charleston, pay with cash and save yourself some $$. Red's Ice House is a casual waterfront spot located on historic Shem Creek in Charleston, South Carolina. The restaurant offers ample patio space with views of the water, making it an ideal place to enjoy the scenery and watch activities such as kayaking and dolphin sightings. The menu features standard fried seafood fare, sandwiches, burgers, and refreshing drinks. One of its highlights is the elevated 'tree house' rooftop bar that provides a charming setting to savor local seafood while taking in scenic Charleston sunsets.
The place doesn't look like much but the roasted oysters were so good I had to order 6 more. My wife had grilled shrimp which were also good. We got there 5 minutes after opening at 11 am and they were half full already. In our 4 days in the Charleston area this place has the best roasted oysters.

Pros and cons for this restaurant. I am solo with a pet. I got there 10 minutes before they opened and let them know I was there. I then waited almost 20 minutes with no acknowledgement and eventually went to the bar asking to be seated. Once I was seated, the waitress was kind and attentive. She brought my pet a cup of ice cold water, but the water bowl outside where we waited was very dirty. The food was very good. My burger was a little pink and I realized I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. When the bill came for 2 daiquiris, a burger, fries and cucumber salad, it was $50!!!! I had seen the menu online where a daiquiri was $8 and is now apparently $13. The burger went up only a couple of dollars. The waitress stated that was an old menu but big increase either way. I didn't argue, I paid and tipped well because it's not the waitress' fault. The patio is covered with fans which is great for a pet because most outdoor seating is not covered and can get very hot. So...pros and cons but not sure I'll return.

We stumbled on this place when we were visiting Shem Boardwalk… Loved the food… Had the grouper sandwich. Grilled shrimp. French fries were delicious. The pineapple jalapeño coleslaw was great. The atmosphere was fabulous busy and the service was magnificent.

Waterfront dining, excellent service and great food! Reds is a true vacation feel! The house margarita was excellent and the crab cakes were wonderful! The low country boil could have used some seasoning but the portion sizes was perfect! Our server was friendly and energetic and prices were very reasonable too! The parking lot (paid) can get full due to the variety of restaurants around, however, we did a few circles and found a spot within a few minutes. Waterfront seating is first come first serve but the views were beautiful, especially during sunset. We loved Reds!

We had a really nice lunch here today. There was a little bit of a wait since they were very busy, but it was less than 15 mins. Once we were seated, our waitress was very attentive and our food came out quickly. I had the grouper sandwich and it was delicious. My fiance had their crab cake platter and enjoyed it. We'd definitely come back if/when we're in the area. It is a little expensive, but it's quality seafood too.

Nice outdoor bar. Highly recommend the BBQ bacon wrapped scallops and the Buffalo shrimp po boy. Both fresh and delicious!

Red's is an awesome place to eat. I ordered the low country boil & the jalapeño hushpuppies. It was delicious. We waited about 40-45 min for a table. Our waitress was friendly. We will definitely go back when we are in the area again. The view is of Shem Creek & watching the boats go by. There are other restaurants there (Saltwater¹ Cowboys, Muddy's & some others). You can go for a walk on the Boardwalk. Walk down thru there, and you can see where Heyward's Seafood is (Outer Banks) & The Wreck (Kiara's parents restaurant on the show).

Meh. I was so excited for the crab cakes, and while they were all crab, they tasted like everything else on the plate as everything was covered with Old Bay type seasoning. The butter didn’t even taste like butter. Calamari appetizer was a good size portion, but nothing special. It all tasted premade and processed. Attention to detail was lacking - see photo. Waitress was nice but the kid who brought our food just tossed it on the table with a grunt and don’t bother me look.

Charleston Harbor Fish House is a stylish seafood spot located in the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina, offering stunning waterfront views and locally sourced seafood. The award-winning chef, Cole Poolaw, prepares artful Southern dishes like pan-seared diver scallops and Carolina gold rice paella paired with fine Old World wines. The restaurant offers a diverse menu including breakfast tacos, lobster ravioli for lunch, and filling filet mignon for dinner.
Great experience every time! I don’t think there’s another view in Charleston that can compare to Patriot’s Point! The food is always fresh made, delicious, and the service is lovely as well. Definitely pricey, but you’re really paying for that view. My favorite place to sit is outside on the screened patio overlooking the waterway. It’s so relaxing and absolutely gorgeous. A must see experience while staying in and around Charleston or Mount Pleasant.

Online reservations are misleading- it gives you the option for ‘standard’ seating or ‘high top’ seating, but once we got there we were told the upstairs has nothing to do with the restaurant, that’s a bar. We were hoping for outdoor seating but it’s ok. Needs to be changed though Food was good, potatoes were cold and dry-tasted reheated from the day before. Salmon was yummy Waiters and staff were kind and sweet, braised beef was delicious!!
Milka K — Google review
First off, if you're a fish house in Charleston, you should be excellent. That was not my experience. The shrimp & grits were awful, oily no cream to the grits & sliced onion & bell peppers on top, NO! I took 2 bites of overcooked shrimp and sent it back. To top it off, my dish was room temp like it had been sitting on a shelf without warming lights. I got the she crab soup & it barely had any crab and was the shallowest bowl I have ever had at a restaurant, more like a cup. No bread with the meal, which was weird and the crackers for the soup were 2 packs of Ritz (no oyster crackers allowed here!) My hubby got the fried cod and the breading was thicker than the fish, but at least it was flaky and not overcooked. The fries were fine just not hot and the coleslaw had broccoli in it (weird). Our server was very nice & I did not get charged for my food. Save your money & go elsewhere.
V B — Google review
The food here was absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back a second time during our trip. The overall experience was great, with beautiful views from the restaurant that made dining here even more enjoyable. On our first visit, I ordered the market catch, which was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. During our second visit, I tried the shrimp and grits — easily one of the best I’ve had. The shrimp were fresh, and the creamy, flavorful grits tied the whole dish together. Although the service wasn’t bad, there’s still a bit of room for improvement. The staff were polite and helpful, but a little more attentiveness would make the dining experience even better. I didn’t have a chance to check out the upstairs bar this time, but it looked like a great spot to relax and enjoy a drink while taking in the view. That’s definitely something I plan to do on my next visit. Overall, this is a restaurant worth coming back to. The atmosphere, views, and quality of the food make it a memorable dining experience. I’m already looking forward to trying the grouper next time.

Stunning Views & Exceptional Service! We had an incredible dining experience at The Fish House! The views were absolutely breathtaking – the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal. Our server, Jaylen, was fantastic – friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed. The food? Spectacular! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. This place is a must-visit if you’re in the area. Can’t wait to return!

Had an amazing dinner here. Sat at the bar because they were not taking walk-ins. I recommend making a reservation. The food, service and atmosphere is definitely top notch. Had the tuna tartar and market fish which was golden teal and was absolutely amazing.

Absolutely worth the money and would go again. Super funny/fast waiter, wonderful drinks and the food was AMAZING in my opinion. I rarely leave reviews but this place deserves it and should have at least a 4.5 rating -at least-! Drink prices were pretty average, dare I say even cheap compared to some other places I’ve been in this area, but so good! And like I said, food to die for, they can have all my money and I wish I could try the whole menu in 1 night! I had crab dip and seafood fettuccine (minus the muscles lol).😍

What a great place this is and they have great seating options. We went on a Friday evening after making reservations earlier in the day. The hostesses were very professional, even though being approached from all sides they remained calm and gracious. Our food was amazing, we weren’t rush at all and enjoyed our evening thoroughly. Even ordered some desserts.

Delicious food and a splendid view. My nephew wanted steak. It wasn't on the lunch menu but it was offered for dinner. The chef made it for him anyway. Awesome service. The she crab soup had a different spin with the chef adding peppers. It was VERY good.

Was craving seafood for my birthday weekend, and couldn’t find decent parking downtown, so headed out to Shem Creek. I was not disappointed. The service and food were top notch. The view of the busy creek was amazing. I for sure will return.

My husband and I picked this place to celebrate our anniversary while on vacation. It was AMAZING!! The food was DELICIOUS! We got the crab dip, bbq salmon, cajun pasta, and chocolate cake for dessert. It was all amazing. We had drinks with it all. The service was incredible! We sat right by the water and it was so peaceful. There was live music near by that we were able to enjoy also. We would absolutely eat here again!

This was the absolute best dining we experienced in Charleston while we were there. The only complaint i could have was the parking. Parking area was way too small and we checked out way before the 3 hr limit and was still being charged for parking when not even there.

We had an incredible dinner at Water’s Edge on Shem Creek. I ordered the Seafood Pasta with Cajun cream sauce — it was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. My wife had the Ahi Tuna appetizer with a wedge salad, and both were excellent. The tuna was perfectly prepared, and the wedge salad was huge, with some of the best blue cheese dressing and crumbles we’ve ever had. The view made the experience even better — watching boats go by on Shem Creek and seeing the lights across the water created a perfect evening atmosphere. Great food, great vibe, and a great spot to relax and enjoy the Lowcountry. Highly recommend!

Charleston Crab House is a popular casual eatery known for its convivial atmosphere and crab-heavy menu of classic seafood. With locations in downtown Charleston and James Island, this family-owned restaurant has been serving the community since 1991. The restaurant offers a variety of raw bar favorites, steamed dishes, she-crab soup, bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp, chilled blue crab dip, Lowcountry shrimp boil, mahi-mahi and more.
We enjoyed a nice dinner on the rooftop. We got the Lowcountry Shrimp Boil, the Dungeness Crab Boil, and the Alaskan Snow Crab Boil. The food was delicious and the service was great! The steam pots had plenty of food and were well seasoned. I would definitely eat here again!

Amazing service and delicious food. The fish was well seasoned with Cajun, tasted amazing by itself and was perfect for me. But as a sandwich it was on little bland side for my Indian taste buds. Shouldn't be an issue others. Fried the grilled oysters for the first time amd it was delicious too.

Service was great. The view outside and the breeze was amazing. Food was pretty good. Not the best seafood boil I've ever had but I will say the shrimp were big, fresh and cooked beautifully. I would definitely go back and try some other things on the menu that looked good! Parking can be a bit of a hassle, so plan to walk a bit if you don't get lucky and find a small strip near the restaurant.

First time going and I was not disappointed. It’s in a great location and the staff were welcoming. There was no wait time and got seated upstairs immediately. They have rooftop seating to view the downtown area which is nice. Our server was extremely nice. The menu had a lot of options and all looked good. I ordered the Low Country Shrimp Boil and it was one of the best boils I ever had. The shrimp was fresh and the garlic butter it was in was so yummy. It also came with a large corn, potatoes, and sausage. Most places slice up their sausages for boils, but I like that this restaurant didn’t. My boyfriend ordered the fried shrimp with waffle fries and I got to try it, and it was so good. Spot on with the seasoning. I did dip the fries in the garlic butter sauce from the boil and it was so good. I would definitely go back!

This laid-back Mount Pleasant spot serves up Southern-inspired fare with great views of Shem Creek. There's a full bar with beer options to keep you refreshed, and the menu features classics like shrimp and grits and fried chicken as well as Cajun-inspired items like seafood jambalaya.
We went for food and atmosphere. Sat outside on the deck and ate. Listened to DJ down below from Muddy's and he was entertaining. The view with the river and other bars/restuarants was pretty. Food was good. Lots of us got fried shrimp and it was good.

I loved this place. I came here to eat oysters, since I saw that they serve oysters on Google Maps. Unfortunately, they weren't serving them and I didn't see them in the menu. The plate I ordered was a rice with seafood, a great option and a huge portion, I couldn't finish it. I had a draft beer, which was not cold enough to my taste. My waitress was super nice and attentive. The view I had from here was amazing. There are options for sitting inside, outside, and some nice windows with air conditioning available too. This is a very decent place for having a meal. A little expensive but I think it's worth it. It the tables and windows were cleaner it would be great! The parking system could be a little confusing. My advice is: park, have in mind your plate number, don't scan or pay anything before entering the restaurant, when you are in the restaurant they will provide you with a QR code where you have to enter your info and give you 3 hours of free parking.

Best Shem Creek View! Beautiful waterfront spot with amazing food and laid-back vibes! I had the Western Smash Burger and the Grilled Salmon BLT Sandwich—both were absolutely delicious. The burger was juicy with bold flavors, and the salmon was perfectly grilled, paired with crispy bacon and fresh greens. Great service and a relaxing view made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mount Pleasant!

Definitely the calmer side of Shem Creek but with great views! We ate on the deck and the view was lovely as the sun was going down. The tables were nice and spaced out so we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other people. Prices are fair and our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely great service! I had the Ghost Melon Margarita and it was pretty good but didn't really have much spice flavor. We shared the Lowcountry Sauté over grits, which was a good choice because we didn't get overly stuffed. It was cranky and the flavor was good, just no "wow factor" with our meal, hence the 4⭐. It was supposed to be in a bourbon butter sauce but I couldn't taste any bourbon flavor. I'd go back simply for the atmosphere. Lovely deck!

As part of our visit to Isle of Palms beach and Shem Creek we called into Vickery’s for early dinner. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with great views of the creek with its busy eateries and bars, lots of boats and people. Service was super friendly, attentive and fast. I had Cuban Sandwich with a side of Carolina red rice (my new favourite side!) and my partner had a smash burger with bacon and cheese with seasoned fries. Food was tasty and hot, not quite amazing but very nice - price is pretty much in line with most similar-type of grill bars. The atmosphere was great - we ate pretty early so it was fairly quiet when we arrived but it soon filled up - it had a great vibe about it, customers and staff all smiles. Would definitely visit again - perhaps next time I would try some seafood options as there were some nice dishes on the menu.

We (2) had dinner here on a Saturday night. They seated us pretty quickly, we sat in a booth by the bar to watch the game. The two bar tenders (a blond haired girl and a dark haired girl with glasses) that waited on us were great! They were super nice and attentive. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly also! We got buffalo wings, I had the mahi with loaded mashed potatoes instead of the Carolina red rice and my husband got the Alfredo with salmon.

Marina Variety Store Restaurant, located at City Marina on Lockwood, has been serving Southern-style breakfast and seafood-focused lunch and dinner since 1963. The restaurant is known for its unpretentious surroundings and outstanding seafood dishes. Recently, the management decided to enhance their famous grits by using a combination of Geechie Boy Yellow and Jimmy Red Corn varieties, resulting in a creamier texture with flecks of brick red mixed with yellow kernels.
Dined here for lunch (party of four) and all of us enjoyed our food and our overall experience immensely. Food was excellent, service was great, atmosphere fun. The view was incredible. We got the crab cakes eggs Benedict, the coconut shrimp, the club sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich. Everyone reported that their meal was delicious. I'm a simple man. I like cold beer, black coffee, a thick woman, and the Bear Island Shrimp & Grits from Marina Variety Store Restaurant. This plate of food changed my worldview. I'm originally only from JUST south of the Mason Dixon, but the andouilles gave me a southern drawl longer than the line at the dmv and the fried gator made me sweaty-er than a Southern Baptist pastor spitting fire and brimstone. When that plate of grits gets sat in front of you after tying one on in Charleston the night before, I ain't saying that you're staring into the face of God, but I ain't not saying you won't be neither. The wait is non-existent compared to Charleston proper. Screw that stuffy city restaurant experience. Come here instead.

Really great food. Fresh and served really fast. The only slight negatives- sticky color is never attractive. You get over it fast but it’s off-putting when you enter. Also the smell when you enter. Sure it’s a seafood place but could smell a little more cleaner. Service was good but no refills offered. She was busy though, so just an over sight.

The Hungry Detective and new sidekick had a fabulous experience at my old new favorite Italian spot in Charleston!!! The food: started with the grouper braciole served up super hot in a La Cruset covered mini pot. Main courses….The tile fish is five stars and the plate was clean…”better than sex” Wine: Michael selected a fabulous red from Sicily!!! VERDICT: I usually do not go out on a limb but Coda de Pesce goes above and beyond the call of duty and guilty as sin for doing everything to perfection!!! Note: Sit at the bar….Michael the bartender is a true professional and knows his stuff…great suggestions that were on point!!!

Never ate, server would not seat us tonight at all. Said they don’t do this today. No walk ins. We asked to sit at the bar and was told NO, we just opened can’t help you. Crappy customer service and poor attitude. My sister in law is handicapped and it took her a good bit to walk up the stairs, once we were turned away, she asked if she could stand for a minute to get some energy to walk down the stairs, the guy flat out said ,I dont care, but you’re not sitting here tonight.

We had high expectations based on reviews and descriptions. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Food was good, but not something what you have never tried as described in other reviews. It was also inconsistent. Even bread, when one order was great and another was mediocre. Besides, it was always a feeling that we have to finish as soon as possible since other customers are in line. My "favorite" part was that we were asked to place our order for appetizers and main dishes at the same time since it is "more convenient" for the chief...

Ellis Creek Fish Camp is a casual seafood spot located on James Island off Harbor View Road. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with countryside views, allowing visitors to dine indoors or on the terrace. The contemporary fish camp serves up traditional Lowcountry seafood dishes like Shrimp & Grits, Fish & Chips, and Po-Boys with an elevated twist. Guests can place their orders at the window and then choose their preferred seating.
Yup, yup and more yup! Ellis Creek Fish Camp Is amazing, cold brew, grilled or fried seafood. Amazing and lovely environment. Be prepared to wait in line outdoors to order up, and get a table of your choosing once orders are in. The view is good, the food it amazing, the atmosphere will bring you back again and again. Be easy to take directions when pulling into the lot, if the parking is tight they will tell you where to park. Go slow and enjoy.

Great outdoor spot to hang out with family or friends! We went on a Saturday afternoon, and the weather was perfect—sunny with a nice breeze, which made it ideal for eating outside. 📍 The Venue: The vibe is super chill, with wooden seating for big groups and a nice view of the marsh. It's a great place to grab a beer or a meal and just enjoy some time with friends or family. Just a heads up—if you go in the summer, it can get really hot, though they do have fans at most of the tables. 🍔 The Food: I wouldn't say the food is anything to write home about—it’s pretty standard. Grouper Sandwich: It was fine, but didn’t blow me away. The plate didn’t look super appetizing either, and the chips were just average. Grouper Plate with Onion Side: The fish was on the small side, especially compared to the generous portion of onions. Hushpuppies: These were tasty. They served a sauce with them that was a great match. Service: You have to stand in line to order, but once you're seated, a waiter brings the food to you. It did take a little while for the food to arrive. Parking: They have a small parking lot with just a few spots, so it can get a little tight. Overall, I really liked the place—especially because the weather was nice. Not sure how I’d feel about it in the summer heat, though. The only downside was the fish. For a place called “Fish Camp,” I expected the fish to be the star, but it felt a bit underwhelming and small compared to the sides. I’d probably come back just for a beer and some snacks to share with friends.

This is such a hidden gem in Charleston! We went on a cloudy and yucky/rainy day, but it was still incredible sitting outside and enjoying the view and vibes. You order at the front and then they bring your food right to you! I got the shrimp scampi and it was really really good! I could have ordered 829 other things off the menu too. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town!!

Such a wonderful spot! The food and drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was just as great. The staff was welcoming, and the people made the experience even better. I’m so glad we stopped in during our visit, and we can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed this place. The food was excellent and we ate outside because the weather wasn’t too bad. I had the cod sandwich and it was very good. My wife had the baked cod filet and loved it. The fried pickles were very good. A great place in the lowcountry!!!

Indoor and outdoor dining in a rustic setting. The food is delicious and fresh. I would definitely recommend and would go again if staying in the area. The Frog Leg app was delicious and so were all of our meals.

A wait in line and place your order type of restaurant. Grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited in line. Staff were all super friendly. The fried shrimp was the best fried shrimp we've had at a coastal restaurant... almost as good as the fried shrimp at The Georgia Shrimp Company in Peachtree City ;))

Shem Creek Crab House is a quintessential lowcountry dining spot located on the picturesque waters of Shem Creek. It offers stunning waterfront views and a menu focused on southern seafood favorites sourced from local fishermen. Whether you choose to dine indoors or relax on the outdoor deck, you can savor dishes like she-crab soup, crab legs, shrimp boils, and more while enjoying the charming ambiance.
The views from Shem Creek Crab House were absolutely stunning and the staff was super friendly, but the food itself was a bit bland and could’ve used more seasoning. I personally enjoyed the seasoned vegetables and grilled shrimp on my Carolina Platter (as seen in the image below) better than the crab itself. It’s a fantastic place to go with the family or on a spontaneous date. I came right at sunset and the views from our table were gorgeous.

Stopped at SCCH on Memorial Day Weekend to meet friends and celebrate. The service was excellent, the food was good, and the restaurant was fun. Highlights included the Carolina Platter, and the Sesame Tuna. The cocktail specials were good as well, on the sweet side but definitely in the coastal vibe. Overall great experience.

Stopped by here because we were craving a good crab boil, and this place came highly recommended. We made reservations online beforehand and were seated right away when we arrived — no wait at all. They offer both indoor seating and an outdoor patio that overlooks Shem Creek, making it a great spot for a family dinner or a date night. The service was solid. It was a bit on the slower side, but considering how busy they were (and it being summertime), it was understandable. Our waitress was friendly and a pleasure to interact with. Now on to the drinks and food — my girlfriend ordered a frozen Rum Runner and really enjoyed it. For starters, we got the hush puppies and four fried oysters. It was actually our first time trying oysters, and they were fantastic. I could’ve easily polished off a whole tray. The hush puppies were also a perfect little teaser for what was to come. For our mains, we both went with steampots. I got the Crab House Crab Pot, and my girlfriend chose the Snow Crab Pot. They came out steaming hot, loaded with crab legs, shrimp, mussels, sausage, corn, and potatoes, all drenched in flavorful garlic butter. Everything was so well-seasoned and absolutely delicious. It was my girlfriend’s first time trying crab legs, and she completely devoured her pot — she loved every bite!

This is a really nice local seafood restaurant with a great selection of crab, shrimp, oyster scallop and fish dishes. The best part about the menu are the grilled options. We ordered the captain’s plate and grilled scallops. Both were super fresh and delicious. The service was nice and more importantly, you get the Sham Creek view which is amazing. Be sure to ask for a window table!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. We started with the hush puppies. Nothing made them stand out from any other hush puppies, but that's okay.- they were great. For entrees we got the grilled shrimp and the lowcountry shrimp boil. The grilled shrimp was big and seasoned very well - my girlfriend called it the "best shrimp ever." Both of the sided were pretty forgettable but not bad. The shrimp boil was great too. I've been thinking about the corn in it for two weeks now - the butter and seasoning was exceptional. The overall portion of the boil was very good - I was very full by the time I'm finished. Service was pretty good - the manager got us refills once umpropmted which was nice.

So glad we stumbled upon this place. Being from Tampa, FL. We care about our seafood… we walked through the boardwalk restaurants and wasn’t for us. This place is a little hidden, but totally worth it! We shared a Steam Bucket, 2 sides, and an app and everything was so great and well done! Ate outside, relaxing calm atmosphere, and our server was on top of it! Great young man was wonderful.

pretty views especially when you go during sunset, great food with reasonable prices. Pretty marsh and the lemon mist they spray outside smelt good. I got the pasta, which was amazing and the snow crab was delicious too!!

We were in South Carolina for a few days, and decided to try a sea food restaurant. Shem Creek was recommended to us, and it did not disappoint. The grilled red fish was really good, and the cheesy shrimp and grits were amazing. Service was timely and attentive, and the atmosphere was delightful.

Islander 71 Fish House and Raw Bar, located on Isle of Palms, offers a vibrant atmosphere with yard games, kid-friendly trivia nights, and live entertainment. The restaurant features a full kids menu with options like mac & cheese, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, fries, peanut butter mini pies and banana pudding.
We had a fantastic experience at Islander 71 during our recent visit to Isle of Palms. From the moment we arrived, the lively, upbeat atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The views and vibe perfectly captured that relaxed coastal charm. The Flounder Sandwich was absolutely delicious — fresh, flaky, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crisp. It was easily a highlight of the meal. We also tried the She Crab Soup, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor — a definite must-order. The frozen drink was top-notch and hit the spot on a warm evening. Service was excellent, and we want to give a special shoutout to our waiter Sam B., who was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommend Islander 71 for anyone looking for great food, strong drinks, and a fun atmosphere by the water. We’ll definitely be back!

Wanted to give five stars. Just couldn't. Been coming to this restaurant for years and years when I come back to the Isle. The view of the marina is stunning. The food was fabulous. So why four stars? (1) There's not a lot of selection, menu is small. (2) I was absolutely unable to get my water refilled in 90 minutes. (3) Having reservations, and with the restaurant not being 'conpletely' full, there is no way that the parking lot should be completely full. It's one thing to have signs indicating which parking is yours, but without any enforcement, actual patrons are forced to walk from the paid parking at the marina... Not the greatest experience.

Pulled up in the boat for the 1st time. Great oysters & good. The salmon BLT was amazing. They were out of the fried saltines, which was a bummer because we wanted to try those, but otherwise everything was really good.

We were set to sit in the main dining room, but waited upstairs to wait for our table. They serve a different menu on the top deck. The food was great and the views were outstanding. It was a great evening, and being outside was perfect. The fish sandwich is the real deal. Look forward to going back.

I have seen Islander 71 on IG and have really been wanting to check it out. This place is back in the CUT! The drive is pretty as you do cut through a neighborhood to get to it. Once you arrive, the parking lot is huge and the parking is free and they do have valet available. We had reservations for inside but we ended up sitting outside instead as it was a bit chilly inside. Had we realized the menu inside was a bit different than the menu for the outside area, we would have requested a different table. The interior was beautiful and well put together. The outside has beautiful views of the water and they also have an astroturfed area where you can play a little corn hole and they have a stage for a live band. Plenty of seating available. For the food, I had the seared Ahi tuna sandwich w/ the risotto Saladin the side (I’ve never had tuna like this before so my first impression was that I needed to get used to it but the flavor was there and it was cooked well) and it looked great! We got the fries with the she crab soup drizzled over them and those were delicious (who would have thought that would have been a tasty combination?) We did get a separate order of the she crab soup and that was fantastic. There were plenty of good sized clumps of crab meat and it was flavorful and creamy. We will definitely be back to visit soon!

Beautiful views. Lots of space inside and outside. Friendly service. Shrimp trip appetizer was really good. My grilled flounder with side or roasted veges and fries was ok. The fries and veges were good. Flounder was a nice portion but taste was so so. Other plate ordered wa shrimp po boy wchich was good. Banana crème brûlée for desert was good!!

Just had a large family dinner here this evening and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish! The interior is beautifully designed, with big open windows that give you a great view of boats passing by - it really sets a relaxing, coastal vibe. The service was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was attentive without ever being overbearing, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. On top of that, the restaurant was spotless and just had an all-around pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. We kicked things off with their famous croissants, which came out warm and fluffy, topped with a honey butter sauce that’s truly to die for. They disappeared in seconds - so good that we ordered an extra box to take home. For my entree, I went with the crab cakes served alongside mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, which were green beans and onions. Honestly, some of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had - perfectly cooked and paired with a sauce that made each bite even better. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, and the green beans had just the right amount of snap. I cleaned my plate. My girlfriend ordered the fried shrimp with green beans and loved it. She also had a cocktail that she thought was delicious. All in all, we had an amazing time. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere.

Recently visited for my mom's birthday and it was hands down the best choice I could make! We visited at opening and were immediately greeted with smiles and fast service. Our table inside had an amazing view by the water and my mom loved seeing all of the boats. We started with the honey butter croissants which were fresh and as famous as everyone mentioned. I then had the fried seafood platter with the fried flounder, oysters and shrimp with a side of fries. My mom had the Charleston seafood pasta and she loved it. It came with mussels which she tried for the first time and thought was a great addition. All in all, it was a great experience. Worth every penny.

Beautiful Setting on the river. Server was attentive and helpful in helping me choose something that would be good for me to eat. I had grits covered with gravy Andoulli, sausage and jumbo shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. You should make reservations. I had a 40-minute wait because I made a last minute reservation. But it allowed me to chill out at the local hotel before walking over and sitting right down. Caesar salad was delicious too!

Wonderful and amazing view! California Dreaming in Charleston is nice place to be. They delivered a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was cozy yet classy, with waterfront seating that made everything feel more relaxed. The food was delicious — the croissants were warm and buttery, all our order was perfect. Service was prompt and friendly too. Perfect place for a nice evening out. I’ll definitely be back for sure.

Visited California Dreaming while in Charleston and we called in to reserve a table for 7. The maximum online reservation is for 6, but the staff was very accommodating over the phone. There is a beautiful view of the water but the restaurant interior isn’t anything fancy. My chair was pretty rickety but it wasn’t a big deal since we were looking for a good family meal. We all ordered a variety of meals and it was enjoyable. The shrimp and grits weren’t the best I ever had but they were decent. The most taste came from the andouille sausage, otherwise it wasn’t that seasoned. The steak burger and Nashville wings were good. The kids Alfredo was a huge serving and good. The service was top notch and I want to commend the staff for all being friendly and making sure our needs were met.

Recently moved here for work. This was the best dining experience! We had peel and eat shrimp and the provided a warm towel for your hands. I had seafood pasta and it was delicious and cooked well. The whole restaurant was view clean. The view of the water was amazing and we even had fireworks! Our waiter was new and just moved here also from Maryland and he was top tier! Excellent guest service!

My partner and I had a wonderful celebration dinner and compared to the first time we went, the service was just as great; the food was just as tasty and the views were just as spectacular. When it came to ordering drinks, my partner wanted something and had a flavor in mind but didn’t really know how to build the drink so our server stepped in, made a recommendation and then she went and personally made the drink for her!

I stayed at La Quinta and searched for restaurants within walking distance . What a pleasant surprise to be walking next to a picturesque marina to this delightful restaurant. My server was Gabrielle I believe, she was very attentive and helpful in selecting my choices I sat out on the patio next to the marina and had a great caesar salad topped with blackened shrimp that was fresh and delicious. Their famous croissant lives up to the hype. On a side note a little research uncovered that the restaurant is located in the historic Union Station building, which was originally built as a passenger railroad station in 1902. I’ll definitely be back

I ordered the shrimp tacos and fried flounder — both were delicious. The frozen margarita was tasty and refreshing, although it didn’t have much of an alcohol kick. We sat out on the patio, which had a nice view and a relaxing vibe. The biggest issue was the service. The food takes a bit long so when we asked our server about it, she replied that it had only been ten minutes — with an unfriendly expression. She never came by to check on us during the meal, we have to ask for water and silverware. Also, she also forgot our soup. Everything else was lovely, but the service experience could’ve been much better.

5 Stars! The Pier at Folly Beach absolutely delivered! The food was top notch — fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and on point the entire time, making the experience even better. And you just can’t beat that view — absolutely stunning! Prices were reasonable too, which was a nice surprise. We would (and definitely will) be back again. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Folly Beach!

The atmosphere is hard to beat. The food is what you’d expect from a bar. Fish tacos were good but you won’t mistake it for a gourmet seafood restaurant. The service was OK just seemed like they had a lot of tables per server so they were stretched then. It’s a great place to watch the beach while you eat, even though you may have to fight off a few birds as you’re trying to eat your French fries. If you are busy, the beach near the pier I’ll recommend you eat here out of convenience.

Certainly a great place to sit down ocean front after spending a few hours on the water and enjoy the sound of waves. Service is very prompt, we were quickly seated, promptly and politely attended to, even promptly got us replacement food when they got one of dishes we ordered wrong. Food is not good at all. Very very oily, salty and pretty bland. I don't think the shrimp and fish are fresh, they taste like what you get in Walmart. See the pictures, the brussel sprouts are soaking in oil. Even the local canned beer is bad, no draft. Certainly does not have good selection of vegeterian options , understood being a seafood place. My family suggested to give 1 star, I am giving 3 because of the location and the service.

Food was fabulous! We had chicken fingers, turkey club wrap, French fries, and Pier salad add chicken. I do not know how they season that chicken breast, but it was sooo good! Definitely had cilantro and maybe lemon and pepper. The strawberry margarita was okay. Could have used a bit more strawberry puree. There was also live entertainment. He had not started singing before we left, but the seagull was a great opening act.

This premium waterfront restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully blends exceptional cuisine with stunning views. We arrived by boat after a leisurely sunset cruise, and the ambiance alone made the evening feel special from the start. The warm glow of twilight reflecting off the water set the perfect backdrop for a memorable night. From the moment we were greeted, the service was impeccable. The hostess went out of her way to make our birthday celebration feel truly special, accommodating our party with genuine hospitality and thoughtful touches that did not go unnoticed. The food was nothing short of outstanding. We began with the Oysters Rockefeller, which were prepared to perfection—rich, savory, and beautifully presented. Every bite was indulgent, a perfect example of how a classic dish can still surprise and delight. The rest of the meal followed suit, with fresh, flavorful ingredients and artful presentation that showcased the kitchen’s attention to detail. This restaurant is a gem, whether you're arriving by land or water. It’s a rare place where the setting, service, and cuisine all exceed expectations. We look forward to returning—and next time, we’ll be sure to stay a little longer and savor every moment.

Pricey. The food was too salty for me, but my husband loved it. The seafood tower was great! You have a view of the entire kitchen. Watching SOME cook and prep was a little disturbing. Need some hand washing refresher courses. Service was great! It's a casual place. No need to dress up.

Beautiful area and building. Great view, great food. Our server was really nice. The timing was a little slow, but it was a full Saturday night so it was expected to a point. My girlfriend and I had an incredible dining experience here. From the moment we sat down, we were taken care of by Josh, who knew the menu inside and out. He gave us some of the best recommendations we could have asked for. I even told him to surprise me with an entree based on the flavors I like, and he absolutely nailed it. The Blackened Grouper he picked for me was nothing short of perfect. Despite having a busy section, Josh never made us feel like an afterthought. He constantly checked in, made sure we had everything we needed, and his friendly, welcoming personality really made us feel at home. Every staff member who brought out our food or drinks had the same genuine kindness, which made the entire evening feel special. The food was outstanding. The crab cakes, oysters on the half shell, and carrot cake were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. On top of that, the drinks were top-notch and complemented the meal perfectly. After dinner, we made our way up to the rooftop where the atmosphere was just as amazing. The bartenders up there were just as friendly and welcoming, and the view made for a perfect way to end the night. This place gets a full 10 out of 10 from us. If you’re looking for a spot that combines phenomenal food, genuine hospitality, and a beautiful atmosphere, you will not be disappointed.

Our server was wonderful and asked right up front if there was anyone with food sensitivities or allergies. I am allergic to wheat and she pointed out all the dishes that were gluten-free and the ones that could be modified for me. I had the crab salad and it was delicious. The Lemon Blueberry Crème Brûlée was scrumptious! It was a beautiful evening for outdoor seating. I will definitely visit again!

Every trip has one standout meal, the one you remember long after you're home. For our visit to Charleston, that meal was at The Kingstide. The restaurant's waterfront vibe is the real deal; we even saw a dolphin swim by while we were sitting down. The staff made us feel welcome right away, and we started with the seafood tower. It was an impressive spread of fresh, chilled shellfish and the perfect way to begin. But while the tower was good, the grouper was the highlight of the night. It was served over incredibly creamy grits, and the fish itself was cooked perfectly. It is a simple dish, but it's executed so well that it truly stands out. We came looking for a memorable seafood dinner, and The Kingstide delivered. We highly recommend it if you're visiting the area.

Fantastic! Everything was perfect. Our server was a delight, and even let us try a few pink oysters on the house when we couldn’t decide on appetizers. Cocktails were absolutely divine. Blu Oyster Sushi & Seafood is a restaurant located in Johns Island, Charleston, SC 29455. It is known for its moderately priced menu and offers delicious sushi and seafood dishes. We were looking for fresh seafood, and Blu Oyster did not disappoint us. Local parentheses Virginia.) oysters on the half shell were delicious! Grilled shrimp, hush puppies slaw and salad. We’re just what I wanted. The Keylime pie was divine. We’ll definitely return.

Solid revamp and sleeper sports bar! Blu has gone thru a few transitions but im thinking this is the best iteration. Some major changes - TVs wall to wall! Will be a great game night spot. Outdoor full bar. Arcade (good for whole family). As for food - didn’t have full entrees, went for happy hour. Good value! $5 mocktails (annoying when no alcohol drinks start costing 12+). Half off oysters. Generous portions at reasonable prices. We got 2 dozen oyster, fried chicken livers and the loaded baked potato is so massive its a meal by itself. Service was notable - swarming with staff and the manager came by twice to personally ask of our satisfaction. The only real negative - the normally $40 a dozen oysters - were shucked a bit shotty - not disconnected from the shell requiring me to dig them off, and kinda tear them up to eat em. Also not served with Mignonette as you typically get. However, for HALF off happy hour, i can hardly complain. In all - an upgrade to the reliable, go-to neighborhood spot, now as a prime sports spot.

Traveling through from out of state and passed by, seen the reviews and decided to try it out. We really enjoyed our experience! Food was hot, fresh and tasty! Our server was sweet, helpful, and checked on us just the right amount! If we’re ever around the area in the future, we’d be back! We got the hibachi, a couple rolls (volcano, and dancing dragon), and the mussels. Never had mussels before but I liked them! The sauce that the muscles come in is rich and buttery and delicious! And the fresh/hot bread dipped in the sauce was awesome as well! Definitely recommend! Place was clean and sleek! 👍

I am actually shocked at how delicious the pulled pork barbq was. I don't even know how to describe or compare. It was smoky and (I got it to go) the daycare on the side were very good. I didn't typically like sauce. I want just plain good old smoked meat and that's how it tasted to me. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were absolutely incredible. Attentive, super friendly, on top of things, great food suggestions. I also had the raw oysters, which were delicious. They're fresh from VA or other close by states. Whatever's best, in season. I will come to Blu Smoke every chance I get and I hope you're experience is as great as mine! Love love love this place!!
Christie H — Google review
I really wanted to like this place, but the food and overall experience were very disappointing. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and it came out as a dry ball of meat on a bun. The presentation was awful, and it definitely didn’t taste or look like true smoked pulled pork (I’m from Texas, so I know good BBQ). The oysters were also gritty and crunchy, clearly from bits of shell that weren’t cleaned out properly. For two people, we spent around $110, and it absolutely wasn’t worth it. The atmosphere felt off and even our server seemed nervous, almost like he knew the food quality wasn’t up to par. He was polite and tried his best, but unfortunately, that was the only good part of the visit. For $16 a pulled pork sandwich shouldn’t be dry, bland, and poorly presented. Definitely not somewhere I’d return or recommend.

We wanted to have dinner on the island and we're in the mood for BBQ. We don't like crowds, so we made reservations for 2 at 5:00. When we arrived, the place was empty. They tried to seat us at a small table near the window but my wife requested a booth. The hostess had to check with her manager to relocate us. Why not just seat us in a booth. They were ALL empty. Waitress was pretty good and food came out quick. Food quality was generally poor. The fried mushrooms and my WW Pernicious were good, but that's where it ends. Everything else was dry and tasted burnt. The "cuban" BBQ Sandwich was nothing more than chopped BBQ on an sub roll with what was supposed to be swiss cheese on it... All for $16.50. my wife's beans tasted and looked like they were scraped off the bottom of the pot. Total bill was over $60 including the tip, so it was not a good value for what we got. Prob won't visit again.

Really want this place to do well but have been twice since opening and probably won’t go back. Service is good and they’ve made some good changes to the space. Great to watch a game. Both times, good did not come out correctly. Missing items like chili, slaw and onions. Fries are soggy and sweet potato fries were terrible. Meats are ok. Ketchup was empty, BBQ sauces not labeled. Pretzel was not great. Overall, meh…

I want to start by saying Megan, our waitress was awesome and attentive. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful, bright, and attractive. My wife and I ordered; stuffed jalapeno with brisket, beef cheek, sausage, turkey, Mac and cheese, brisket and beans, and finally chopped “brisket”. Overall the food was pretty good, decent smoke flavor on all cuts of meat but slightly under seasoned in general. Where they lost me on the food, was the chopped “brisket”. The only food items I had with brisket in them were the jalapeños and beans. I never received the chopped brisket, instead what I received was 100% pulled pork (I have lived in the Charleston my entire life and eating bbq the same) I am very aware of the difference between pulled pork and brisket. I told the waitress that what I had received was pulled pork, she advised she asked the “head chef” if what she had was brisket and he confirmed. I don’t know if communication lines got crossed or what happened but I never received chopped brisket, we received pulled pork. The pork wasn’t great either, I couldn’t taste seasoning all I could taste was dry pork. Overall not a bad place, a bit over priced for what we received but I would give it a second chance. Hopefully whoever mixed up brisket for pork learns the difference.

Coconut Joe's Beach Grill is a beachfront restaurant on Isle of Palms that serves island-inspired dishes like shrimp and grits, grouper sandwich, and creamy crab dip. You can enjoy the view of the sand and surf from the deck or the rooftop, where happy hour specials include 14-ounce specialty drinks and quick-to-the-table 'zappetizers.'
Atmosphere ten stars! Great view of the beach waves! I liked the strawberry and cream drink better than the Pina Colada because the coconut was too much for me. The Island tacos were nice and spicy but delicious. Grouper bites were good as well.

Great food, amazing views, awesome vibes. Inside dinning is an option, but the roof top bar and dinning is where it is at. Located right beside public access to beach. Check out the lower patio as well with its hanging swings and photo backdrops.

Loved the food here. The grouper bites are delicious and filling. The portion sizes are more than acceptable. The restaurant has a great view, the servers are friendly and responsive. The only negative things I can say are the restaurant has an odd odor to it inside, and we didn't care for the cooks blasting their music over the main restaurant's music. Kinda killed the calm, enjoyable atmosphere that we were expecting.

Disappointing Dining, Gorgeous View Stopped by Coconut Joe’s hoping for good beachside vibes and left with a beautiful view… and a parking ticket. Let’s start with the only highlight — the location. You can’t beat the view: right on the beach, salty breeze, and a front-row seat to the ocean. It’s the perfect spot if you just want a drink and a view. Unfortunately, everything else fell flat. Service was painfully slow — we waited over 35 minutes for food, and when it finally showed up, it tasted like it had been waiting just as long under a heat lamp. Dull, bland, and overpriced. Word of warning: make sure to pay for street parking or you’ll walk away with more than just a bad taste — you’ll be funding the local government with a nice little fine. With so many great spots in the area, this one’s best enjoyed from afar — like, maybe just admire it from the beach and move on

The food was great. The Grouper bites was an appetizer was a lie. There is enough in this for 2 dinners just get a side each. These things are delicious. I also got the scallops, Coconut shrimp, fried shrimp, and blackened shrimp. The food was all very good. We sat outside and watched the dolphins.

We stopped by Coconut Joe’s on Isle of Palms during our vacation, and it was exactly the kind of laid-back, beachy spot we were hoping for. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming—fun signage, casual seating, and definitely all the “beach vibes only” energy promised at the entrance. We tried a little bit of everything, from the fried pickles and gator bites to the coconut shrimp, grilled seafood, and burgers. The portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and hot. Highlights were the coconut shrimp (crispy, juicy, and full of flavor) and the green beans—yes, even the green beans were surprisingly good and the coleslaw was creamy. The staff was friendly, and even though the place was busy, service stayed upbeat and helpful. It felt like a real beachside tradition, and judging by the crowd, we’re not the only ones who think so. Definitely a fun, casual place to grab seafood and enjoy the relaxed vibe of Isle of Palms. Would gladly come back again!

Overpriced drinks. Drink tasted like straight juice and sugar (was supposed to be a whiskey drink). Terrible service. Only saw the server twice and it wasn’t even busy (wed night). Not even provided with napkins or silverwares with our food. To top it off, the server stared at what my husband was tipping on the handhelp POS. Made us feel very uncomfortable. I hope someone else has a better experience but ours wasn’t good. Will not be coming back or recommend.

Nestled along the picturesque Cooper River, MOMO Riverfront Park is a delightful dining destination in North Charleston that promises an unforgettable lunch experience. With its extensive menu featuring mouthwatering options like the Momo Burger, shrimp and grits, and delectable truffle fries, this eatery caters to all tastes. The charming indoor space complements the spacious outdoor seating area where diners can soak in stunning waterfront views framed by swaying trees.
We have dined here more than a handful of times now, and the food/drink quality has been nothing but exceptional in all those times. The location is ideal! We love to stroll around the old Navy Quarters or the Riverfront Park, then slowly make our way to MOMO. I will say their menu stays pretty consistent (not much seasonal changes). Therefore, I usually know what I'll be ordering before getting here. I recommend making a reservation if you are planning on visiting.
Jazz B — Google review
The atmosphere at MOMO Riverfront Park is beautiful, and its location in the park makes it a great spot to relax. I arrived around 4 PM when the restaurant was nearly empty, but was told all the outdoor tables were reserved. Oddly, even when I left at 5 PM, many of those tables were still unoccupied. That was disappointing, as the outdoor seating is a major part of the experience. I hadn’t made a reservation—so I’d definitely recommend doing that in advance if you want to sit outside. The food was average in taste but priced like a luxury hotel, which didn’t feel justified. Service was okay—not particularly warm or attentive. Overall, it's a place worth visiting for the ambiance, but the dining experience could be much better with improved service and more thoughtful table management.
Tuung T — Google review
I have been wanting to try this place for years so I was extremely excited when the opportunity presented itself. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the turkey sandwich and everyone else at my table had the steak. I don't think I have had any as good as their Gouda grits. Everyone enjoyed their food. We also ordered several different cocktails and wines - all of which were fantastic. Do not skip out on the dessert either. Three of us ordered one and they were all fantastic. The restaurant was not super busy that evening but our waitress was not the most attentive. We had to get her attention a few times and give her a few reminders. The restaurant was very warm, which I assume was due to the open kitchen. Unfortunately, one of our table members got too warm - mix that with a glass of wine and she had to go outside by the water to cool down. Something to consider when going in the heat of the summer. Overall it was a great experience but I may wait until the cooler months to return.

You can’t be the scenery - even on a blistering day. We had such a relaxed lunch. Service was a tetch slow - but no biggie. Food was great - I think I could’ve been a little more imaginative in my order - but I saw Tina Melt and my stomach said “yes please”. It was tasty!!!

I love the location of this restaurant. It's beautiful. We were able to sit out on the patio with friends who were visiting from out of town. I ordered the grits plate. The shrimp was delicious, the grits were ok. I didn't like the pulled pork and the gravy. I was hoping I'd love this new way of having shrimp and grits but I didn't like it. The dish was very small, I was very surprised for the price. I did enjoy the Palmetto cheese but had to refuse the pork rinds and ordered crackers. The server was great. I will be back but will try something else.

Great atmosphere. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. Food was hit and fresh. I had the chicken sandwhich and the deviled eggs. Fantastic. Also the mixed drinks were great. Also they have a private room upstairs which would be great for private events, rehearsal dinners etc. would def come back again!

This is perhaps one of my favorite restaurants in North Charleston. The scenery, the vibe, the food and the service always exceed my expectations. The top reason I love this restaurant is being able to bring our dog and dine outdoors on the patio year round thanks to the heat lamps, fire pits and the complimentary blankets. On this last visit, it happened to be my birthday lunch with my adult daughter and her puppy. The expresso martini and the indigo butterfly cocktail are my favorites. I always get the wedge salad and a bowl of truffle fries. The fries are incredibly good, don’t miss out on those. We encountered a quick rain shower and the manager was very accommodating to our situation with a quick box up of our meal. We waited out the weather and they graciously brought out a slice of their delicious chocolate cake. We are lucky to have this gem of a restaurant !

So many amazing options on the menu, it was hard to pick one thing. What we did order was amazing! I would recommend trying the creme brulee for dessert. The waitresses and other staff was great. Loved the atmosphere and loved the outdoor seating. It truly felt like such a romantic scene. We came to visit Charleston and ate here both nights.

Magnolias, a Charleston classic since 1990, offers a refined twist on traditional Southern cuisine in an elegant setting. The restaurant is beloved by locals for its top-notch lowcountry dishes and attentive service. Seafood takes the spotlight on the menu with authentic options like Lowcountry Bouillabaisse and Spicy Shrimp over grits. Whether it's lunch, Sunday brunch, or dinner, Magnolias delivers southern soul food with a fine-dining experience and tasteful presentation.
Tonight's dinner was @magnoliaschs in the French Quarter of Charleston! I decided to go out and splurge a little. 😂 It is a Lowcountry upscale kitchen. Drink: Grand Fashioned Elijah Craig bourbon, Grand Marnier, orange peel, Angostura bitters, Luxurious cherry App: Down South Egg Roll collard greens, chicken, tasso ham, red pepper purée, spicy mustard, peach chutney Entree: Bourbon BBQ Glazed Pork Chop mac & cheese, collard greens, jalapeño cornbread, honey butter This place was pretty amazing! The drink was exactly what I was looking for. Good flavor and straight to the point. The egg roll tasted so good. You could taste all the individual components in it. The sauces were really complimentary to it. It's really crispy! The pork chop was hands down the best I have ever had. Seasoned perfectly, juicy, and cooked to the perfect medium well. The sauce was nice and sticky. The collards had the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The mac and cheese was nice and creamy. The cornbread was nice as well. I have no complaints whatsoever. When the waitress came over to ask me how I thought the egg roll was, I dropped it by accident and made a mess. 😂 The atmosphere was amazing. It had a country, old time, and upscale feel. White tablecloths. I REALLY wish I liked seafood.

Southern restaurant with delicious food. The fried green tomato appetizer had a super crisp outside, the tomato itself still had a bite to it and the chutney relish was tangy and delicious. Deviled eggs also very good, hard to go wrong with a deviled egg but this one was very good. The bread service is homemade bread and was warm and crispy, yumm. For mains we had the special fried catfish another hit. Batter was crunchy and the fish was tender and perfectly cooked. , red rice was great and green beans were crisp and brought some freshness to an otherwise heavy dish. The bacon was unnecessary for me as I liked the freshness of the beans and didn’t need that addition. The other main we tried was the blackened catfish. A very different preparation than the special, lightly battered and a little thicker cut. Fish was perfectly cooked and went well with the accompaniments. Every bite we had was great. There were so many other items on the menu we wanted to try we will definitely be back. They have two seating areas, the main area in the front with the bar and a second dining room in the back. Unfortunately we were seated in the back dining room which is banquet hallish. If you can, try to sit in the front room, it has charm and windows and is much more inviting.

Went here on my Birthday weekend and it was great! Prompt service, fresh seafood, and a pleasing ambiance! I had the Blue Crab Bisque and the Lowcountry Bouillabaisse. Both were exceptional and the Firefly Arnold Palmer was delicious. It is a little pricey but I would definitely recommend this to anyone going here that wants a romantic or upscale dining experience. I did make reservations so I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like.

My wife and I drove to Charleston to see family and Magnolias was on our list of restaurants to try. I'm glad we did, the food alone was worth the trip. My wife had the buttermilk fried chicken and i had the bourbon BBQ pork chop. The service great and I have ZERO complaints about our experience.

While visiting this week we decided we needed a little southern cooking in our lives. We didn’t have a reservation when we popped in. While there were plenty of tables open (they could’ve been waiting on reservations) we were only offered seating at the bar. Many of the tables remained open while we were there. Reese, our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Service was slow. The fried green tomatoes were amazing! So crispy and flavorful. My friend raved about the fried chicken sandwich. While leaving, the hostess offered someone walking in off the street (without a reservation) a table or the bar. I found that curious.

The Fried Green Tomatoes app is practically an entree in itself... white cheddar & caramelized onion grits, country ham, tomato chutney, tomato butter MY OH MY these are the best FGT that I have ever had! You must try them, so much flavor! For my main course the Parmesan Crusted Market Catch was flounder with creek shrimp & jasmine rice pirloo, warm asparagus, sweet corn & tomato salad, citrus beurre blanc and boy was it spectacular! The Spicy Shrimp & Sausage with tasso gravy, creamy white grits was just as amazing.
Sylvia S — Google review
The food was fantastic. I started with the crab bisque which was excellent and my wife had the watermelon salad (a special) which she said was the best salad she has ever had in her life. I ordered the shrimp and grits which actually had too much black pepper for MY taste but my wife tasted it and loved it. My wife ordered the seafood bouillabaisse which was very very good packed with flavor and tons of different fish and other seafood. We finished with the Red Velvet bread pudding which was topped with a raspberry cheesecake ice cream....this dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Other than the food, the atmosphere was very nice, and our waitress was wonderful. I will definitely look to come back.

My friend and I HAD to visit Magnolias on our recent trip to Charleston. The food was decadent and true southern cuisine. We ordered the fried green tomato appetizer, buffalo chicken salad and low country bouillabaisse. She also opted for the dessert special. All the food was served with generous portions, had excellent flavor and left us both in a food coma. Service was excellent, and we were pleased with the friendliness of the staff. Must try in Charleston💗

Halls Chophouse is a top-notch American steakhouse in Charleston, known for its elegant ambiance and exceptional hospitality. The restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring the finest USDA prime steaks, aged for at least 28 days, as well as other high-quality meats like veal, pork, and roast chicken. Guests can also indulge in what many consider to be the best burgers in Charleston.
The service was top tier from the moment you walk inside. We ordered the signature cocktails, 434 and I dream of Jeanie, and both were great options. The lobster Mac n cheese was the best side. The collard greens had a different flavor than I’m used it, a little sweeter, but it was good. My husband loved the duck entree and the flavor of the entire dish. The Grouper was also good (slightly overcooked). The flavor of the steak was great. Slightly overcooked on the preferred cook on certain portions. Overall, a wonderful experience.

One of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. As soon as we walk through the door, the owner personally introduces himself and shakes our hands. We came to celebrate our anniversary, and were served complimentary champagne after being seated. Rob, our server, was excellent in explaining menu options and even brought a platter of steaks out to show us all of the cuts. We ordered Caesar salads, she-crab soup, filet, prime rib, creamed corn, and mashed potatoes - everything was excellent! They even treated us to a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary, we chose the banana pudding cheesecake, which was of course delicious. Will definitely be back to celebrate our next milestone!

Soul, Steak & Song: The Legendary Halls Gospel Brunch 🎶🥩🍳 I’ve eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, and as a Level 7 Google Local Guide (Top 1.5% globally), I can confidently say: Halls Chophouse is the top restaurant in the US. This was my second day in a row dining here, and today I came for the legendary Sunday Gospel Brunch. From the moment you step inside, the energy is unmatched—live gospel music filling the room, a warm crowd buzzing with joy, and Billy (partner/owner) himself standing at the door, greeting guests with genuine hospitality. That touch alone sets the tone. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon & eggs—perfectly seared, tender, and rich—paired with their house specialty, a Bloody Beer (think a refreshing twist on a Bloody Mary, perfectly balanced). Even the bread service deserves a shoutout: warm, fresh, and dangerously addictive. The menu is a masterclass in Southern comfort meets prime steakhouse: • She-Crab Soup (a Charleston classic done right) • Crab Cake Eggs Benedict (Creole hollandaise magic) • Southern Sweet Potato Pancakes with maple butter & smoked bacon Every plate that passed my table looked like art, and every note of gospel added soul to the meal. Service: Impeccable. The staff at Halls are polished yet personable—professional enough to anticipate your needs, but friendly enough to make you feel at home. This is what dining should be: food, music, and community woven into one unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a foodie, a tourist, or a local, this is a must-do Charleston ritual. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Vibe: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 5/5 #BillyEats #BillyDrinks #BarScout #FoodieLife #TopGoogleReviewer #GlobalBites #HallsChophouse #CharlestonEats

Hands down one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the owner came over to personally introduce himself and shake our hands — such a warm welcome! We were celebrating a birthday, and they brought out complimentary champagne shortly after we were seated, which was such a nice touch. Our server, Josh, was amazing — he walked us through the menu, answered all our questions, and even brought out a tray of steaks to show us the different cuts. Everything was perfect from start to finish. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for the birthday. We’ll definitely be back to celebrate again!

We were thrilled with every part of our dining experience. We were welcomed with smiles and taken to our table. The staff patiently talked with us about the menu and drink choices, ensuring we made the best decisions for our dinner. The food: ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The fried corn, the fried green tomatoes, the Antarctica sea bass, our amazing homard mac&cheese. Did we mention the first-class selection of beef steaks? We chose a robust Malbec and topped off the meal with a digestif of Chartreuse. We recommend without hesitation this dining experience! Thank you 🙏 Pascal and Andrew

As a fine dining manager and food enthusiast visiting from Houston, I can confidently say Halls Chophouse is a masterclass in hospitality and execution. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly by the staff — and even welcomed personally by one of the co-owners. That level of engagement and presence in the dining room is something truly rare and speaks volumes about the culture they’ve built here. The restaurant was buzzing — packed with guests, filled with live music, and full of energy. Despite the lively ambiance, service remained attentive, polished, and genuine. Our server took the time to present the steak tray and explain each cut in detail — a thoughtful touch that shows pride and professionalism. Attention to detail in allergies and the servers pouring his heart in the service what sold me. I went with the Bison steak, accompanied by a she crab soup and multiple sides, and it was outstanding. Perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and easily one of the best steaks I’ve enjoyed in recent memory. If you prefer a quieter dining experience, I’d suggest requesting a table away from the music — but otherwise, lean into the vibrant atmosphere. Halls Chophouse represents everything a classic American steakhouse should be: warm hospitality, quality ingredients, and flawless execution. I’ll absolutely return whenever I’m in Charleston — this place sets the benchmark.

Reservations necessary. We were there for dinner at 5:30 pm and it was already packed. Owner greeted us at the door, stopped at our table twice and said goodbye as we left. Impressive staff. Our waitress suggested half portions since we had nowhere to store leftovers. Even that amount was filling. I tried 2 local beers. My wife had 2 glasses of wine. We split the filet, baked potato, asparagus and salad.

Right when we walked in we were personally greeted by the owner and all of the staff was so welcoming and friendly! They even gave us champagne and dessert to celebrate! The best dining experience we have ever had and will definitely make the trip from Atlanta to visit again! Thank you!!

Second night in Charleston celebrating our tenth anniversary. Hanks definitely met the high expectations we had of good seafood in Charleston! I ordered the flounder and the flavor was out of this world! My husband ordered the oysters casino as an appetizer which were a “ decadent delight” as he described them. For his entree he ordered the grouper which was a tender but meaty and delicious entree! Our server, Drew, was very attentive and pleasant. There was a separate gluten free menu with many options. Both of our main entrees were GF.

We ate at Hank's some 15 years ago, and it was memorable. It's usually not possible to go back to someplace this many years later, let alone have a meal that meets expectations. Hank's is the exception. Our meal was amazing, service was fantastic, and this was just as memorable as our first time there. Hats off to Hank's! Highly recommend them. (Had Seafood a la Wando, btw)

Over the years I have dined at the Boathouse more times than I can count. The Sunset views from the rooftop bar are beautiful, The ambiance of being surrounded by water so peaceful and so “vacation.” While the food has always been delicious, it was different at our last visit. We had dinner there the evening of September 11 and enjoyed what can only be described as a “dining experience” that we will be talking about from now on. The entire meal was just “over-the-top”. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Our party ordered 4 separate entrees and each was fabulous. And let’s talk about oysters. The Oysters Rockefeller were incredible!!! We ordered 1/2 dozen and then ordered another 1/2 dozen and probably would have ordered ANOTHER if we didn’t have entrees coming. Hands-down, the absolute best ever!! This restaurant has always been a favorite and continues to be!! They also have Valet parking so you don’t need to worry about finding a place to park. Highly recommend the Boathouse and it should definitely be a dining destination when on in and around IOP, Mt. Pleasant and Charleston !!

I've heard great things about this spot from long-time locals, and we had a lovely meal. Aside from our server not being attentive and messing some things up on our order, everything was terrific. We also had a reservation, but still had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. They have a small rooftop where you can get a drink or two before your table is ready. Vallet parking was a nice touch. It is priced on the higher end, but is an excellent spot for anniversaries or special occasions. I cannot say enough good things about their crab cakes. I was also impressed by their blue cheese coleslaw. Overall, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here!

Indaco is a popular rustic eatery that offers a modern twist on traditional Italian cuisine. The restaurant is renowned for its crispy wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pasta, and delightful cocktails created by their skilled bar manager. Guests can take advantage of the happy hour menu featuring half-priced pizzas and antipasti, as well as other affordable snacks. The dinner menu showcases unique dishes such as fried rabbit with kabocha squash and lamb quarters, providing an adventurous dining experience.
Everything was delicious. We were in town visiting family and we were very grateful that they found a last minute spot for us, but I would definitely recommend making a reservation. By the time we left the place was very full. The pasta was wonderful. My only constructive criticism was that my wife’s Cappelletti pasta (a stuffed pasta sort of like tortellini) felt like a small portion size, especially when compared to the other 2 pasta dishes we ordered which cost about the same. We wound up giving some of our pasta to her because we felt like we had more than enough. But everything was extremely good and we look forward to coming back someday!

I came here with some girlfriends visiting me in Charleston, and I was honestly impressed! Even though I have passed by this restaurant a handful of times, Indaco wasn't really on my radar. We ordered the Tagliatelle, Peach Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, and the Mafaldine for food. Everything came out perfectly. The pizzas were excellent and a shareable size. However, I wish the pasta entrees were larger to make it easier to share. Our server helped explain to us the differences between pasta dishes and what customers' favorites are. We had a dirty martini and the 'La Paloma' to drink. The restaurant was smaller than expected, but I enjoyed the intimate setting. I would come here again or try their pasta class!

Amazing. Went two nights in a row … we rarely see fantastic bar tender, cocktails, food and atmosphere. This place rocks all three. Bar tender Mattie was amazing at making suggestions for food and drinks. Super friendly without being overbearing. Wine was great for happy hour and I am a wine complainer. Restaurants usually cheap out one wine and serve awful Meimo or Josh… their happy hour red was good! Atmosphere was great. Super hip with fun staff, happy vibe, and not too packed in too tight. Food: Bolognese was best we have ever had. Agnolotti with sweet potatoes is a dish with so much flavor I will be thinking about it for the next year when i got to an Italian restaurant. Potatoes and Brussels were my husbands favorite. But the sweet Potato dish was also something I will wish I could order in atlanta. Every dish here was created with care. Nothing on their menu is bland. Sigh— we can’t go back tomorrow night.

Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Charleston. My girlfriend and I love coming here. All the food is amazing highly recommend the pizza and the pasta. Tyler behind the bar is an AWESOME bartender and always makes the perfect cocktails. Highly recommend this dinner spot.

By far the best restaurant we ate at in Charleston. The food was amazing!! I am celiac and almost the entire menu could be made gluten free. Brittany P was the kindest, most helpful server! She made sure I felt safe eating with my restrictions! The gluten free pasta was excellent, as well as the bread and dessert! Can’t say enough positive things about our experience.

Wonderful service by Fawn for our anniversary. Seated in a window we enjoyed a great meal and the King Street view. Especially kind to have a signed anniversary card at our table. Complimentary dessert. Nice wine selection too!
Dave M — Google review
My husband and I had our 5 year anniversary dinner here while visiting Charleston. From the very beginning, the service was wonderful! We checked in with the hostess and seated at our table that had a “happy anniversary” card on there where the individual staff members all wrote their own message. We had Fawn as our waitress for the night and absolutely adored her. I have Celiac Disease and she took great care to ensure no cross contamination with my food. We had the burrata to start and with gluten free flat bread. I decided to get a pizza and the crust was the right amount of soft and crunchiness - not the cardboard feel that is gluten folks hate. Everything was absolutely delicious!! Fawn brought out a glass of prosecco for us to enjoy on the house for our anniversary and as we were leaving gave me a knitted sunflower from a local artist. Our experience here was exceptional and we felt very well taken care of for our night. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent Italian and Italian inspired dishes. I had the brussel sprouts pizza and let me tell you, it was awesome. No not a traditional Italian pie but the flavors were uniquely original. The Brussels were more of a garnish and didn't overpower the flavor, which came primarily from the crust and the spiced (not spicy) maple syrup. My wife went more traditional with the cavatelli and it was on point and exactly what you want from Italian cuisine. The waiter was attentive but not obtrusive. The place is a little small so they try to optimize space. It was loud when we got there but by 8:30 it quieted down and was very cozy. They also make an amazing espresso martini which isn't on the menu.

The Watch Rooftop Kitchen and Spirits, situated atop a stylish hotel, provides an opportunity to savor Charleston's flavors while taking in stunning city views. Its industrial-chic indoor dining area and two sleek outdoor terraces offer a captivating panorama of the city's architectural heritage. The restaurant serves modern American cuisine with influences from the region and around the world, using locally sourced ingredients. Meanwhile, the rooftop bar offers an array of signature cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and a fine selection of wines.
Stunning views and delicious food with spectacular drinks! We were initially seated inside but the hostess was nice enough to let us switch our locations. The service was great, especially for how busy they were with large bachelorette parties while we were there. The truffle fries….to die for! The tomato basil soup had great flavors as did the skillet Mac and cheese if you’re looking for lighter lunch options. We also had a banana pie and espresso martini that were both fantastic. Will definitely return here again!
Cameon K — Google review
The Watch Rooftop came highly recommended to my bff and I for a must try stop on our girls weekend and while we wanted to love it… we were sadly disappointed by the food and drink we tried. We ordered the Summer Spritz Flight as it looked soooo yummy and refreshing on the Instagram page, but found that all 4 of the options were too sweet- either overpowered by the flavor add-in, or the sparkling wine used. We couldn’t finish any of them- such a shame! We planned to get lunch, but when trying the deviled eggs appetizer and the drink flight… we opted not to. The deviled eggs were room temp (would’ve been better chilled?) and had zero flavor. We both agreed that they needed something- salt, pepper, a kick?! Something. Our server was fabulous and nearing the end of a long shift, and we appreciated that none of these observations were her fault, so opted not to say anything. The view was lovely- even on an overcast day. Overall, we both agree we’d come back for a sunset drink in the future and marvel at the downtown view, but avoid a seasonal cocktail.

Lovedddd this restaurant! Convinent to king street and associated parking but tucked inside the beautiful restoration hotel, The Watch is a little piece of the slow Southern lifestyle that seems to be missing in too much of Charleston these days. The food and cocktails were delicious - highly recommend the braised beef orecchiette and the burrata and jam! Definitely try to sit on the front patio for the views (its less windy than the back patio too) but on cold/hot days the inside is beautiful and cozy too!

If you're ever in Charleston, SC, and looking for a spot that combines great food, killer views, and a laid-back vibe, this rooftop restaurant is a must. Imagine sitting above the historic district, with views of the city stretching out before you. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time. It was a little tricky finding it but you know what they say, the adventure is in the journey not the destination. A short walk up the breezeway between the Rise Coffee Bar and the Restoration Hotel, hop the elevator to the seventh floor and you're there. The scenery is very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The vibe was very chill and laid back. The food was delicious. When you visit the truffle fries are a MUST HAVE. But what really makes this place stand out is the service. The staff is on point—friendly, attentive, but never hovering. They know how to let you enjoy your meal and the view without interruption. Whether you’re out for a date night or just grabbing drinks with friends, this rooftop spot hits all the right notes. Definitely worth checking out!
Mike W — Google review
We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and stopped by this rooftop spot during happy hour, and it was such a great experience. The appetizers were delicious, especially the deviled eggs and the truffle fries. They both were worth ordering. The old fashioneds were such a treat to sip while taking in the incredible views. The location is super convenient and easy to walk to, and the prices during happy hour made it even better. We actually found this place on Instagram and are so glad we decided to check it out because it turned out to be another hidden gem. The whole setting was romantic, laid-back, and the perfect spot for a date night with a view.

We sat for 10 min on a quiet Monday afternoon before anyone even came to the table to offer us water. They took the order brought food to the table no plates or silverware. Seriously offering a Margaritia from a pouch like Capri sun. Then the server comes to the table and rather than ask. Us if everything was OK he wanted to know what we liked best??? The menu says sharable...not. Definitely not worth the cost
Dawn B — Google review
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. We went there for my birthday on a quiet Monday afternoon. We were seated, and after 10 minutes hadn’t even been seen by anyone. Two men were seated next to us, and were served water before us. The server would’ve walked right past us again so we stopped her and asked if we could possibly have some water. She asked if we’d been seen yet and we said no. Five more minutes went by. She brought out waters for the 3 of us. Put 2 down and left with the third. Eventually came back and said she took the third water with her and didn’t know why. All the other tables had a bottle of water provided. We got what tasted like tap water with dirty ice cubes. We were finally greeted by our server and ordered drinks and two “shareables”. The server didn’t bother to tell us these tiny dishes wouldn’t be enough for three people to share. Our food came out - without plates and still without our drinks. He finally brought our drinks and insisted we taste them immediately. Since the man next to us complained his drink was awful maybe it’s not so weird? 🤷🏻‍♀️ A few minutes went by and he came back. Instead of asking how everything was he asked us what our favorite thing was. We finally got the check - $81 for three drinks, two small appetizers, and terrible service. We spoke to the manager and explained the oddness of it all. She had a deadpan expression. Spoke in monotone, apologizing and wishing me a bland and weird “happy birthday” all in one breath without even a smile. Needless to say, never again.
Leslie B — Google review
I had a wonderful experience here on a Tuesday evening! My boyfriend and I sat out on the terrace for his birthday dinner. He got the shrimp and chorizo bowl and I got the short rib pasta dish - both were delicious! The brussel sprouts and pumpkin cheesecake were our app and dessert - these were great too. Service and atmosphere were wonderful.

The Windjammer is a lively beachfront bar and grill located at Front Beach on Isle of Palms, just a short drive from downtown Charleston. It's known for its vibrant atmosphere, live music performances by local and national acts, and a diverse food menu. The venue has been serving the Isle of Palms community since the 1970s and hosts various events such as bikini contests, volleyball tournaments, and golf tournaments during the summer season.
Came by here to grab a beer before the Allen stone concert outdoor. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. The set up outside was nice, small but spacious still and I posted up with a beach chair close to the stage. It’s a cool venue right on the beach at IOP, so I would recommend wearing sandals or flip flops since you may wanna go barefoot. It was a touch humid that day but not too hot. Overall it was a pretty chill place and I’ll have to come back and try the food next time.

They were kind enough to let us host the 4th Birthday Party for Breeze Airways. Our Charleston based team members were taken great care of by the kitchen staff and bartenders Nikki and Brad. Garc was exceptional to plan the event with and made sure all our needs were taken care of with ease! Perfect spot for a night out or a fun corporate get together by the beach! Great food, drinks, super reasonable prices, and again FANTASTIC STAFF!!!

We visited on a Friday and Saturday night, and what an incredible surprise Friday turned out to be! #Evergreen was performing outside, and the amazing #TheNovatones band playing inside was just as impressive. What a fantastic experience! Security was present to screen guests, and you could grab drinks from both the indoor and outdoor bars. When you open a tab, they give you a ticket you can use at any bar—super convenient. Next time we’re in Isle of Palms, SC, this spot is definitely on our list for great live music and a fun atmosphere!

I love the Windjammer. I helped build it after Hurricane Hugo, but I I had that designated as my to go bar since I turned 18 and became beer legal. The bands that they host invarible become major label signed talent. If you ever go to Isle of Palms, SC the Windjammer is a very must see place.

Fascinating Indian/asian/southern fusion restaurant! We made a reservation and when we arrived, the manager explained that they had accidentally just seated a group at our table. But, the manager then went above and beyond to make it right with free drinks and appetizers. This was our friends birthday dinner on her birthday trip, and it meant a lot to us that the team here made it right. The food was fun, filling, and delicious. It’s definitely fusion food, so it’s outside the box- but we loved it. My wife said the lobster roll was the best she’s had!

We had company in town and wanted to try something new, so we made reservations. They were definitely not needed but we did eat around 5:45 pm on a Thursday night. The sidewinder nachos appetizer was delicious! Sorry I did not get a picture. The shrimp and grits were amazing. They use my favorite grits from Marsh Hen Mill. I almost forgot to take a picture. Overall, I give them a 4 out of 5! Definitely worth trying them out.

We had a great 1st visit. Phenomenal service and excellent food. Fried green tomatoes were fresh, and you could tell the oil was new (some of the best we've had) and the bacon jam 🤤 just enough spice. We ordered fish tacos and the yardbird, and both were excellent. We can't wait to come back again.

Excellent, Mt. Pleasant waterfront rooftop spot to enjoy the sunset. Craft cocktails and better than expected seafood. Loved the Bang Bang shrimp and fish tacos.

We really enjoyed having dinner on the rooftop deck. Food was good, server was good, view was great and we couldn’t understand why it was kind of dead…but the entrance on how to get get in is poorly lit, the sign is not lit, the stairs are not lit. Management… if you want people to come have it lit up so people know how to get into your restaurant or they’ll just end up at the crab house next door that is clearly marked. Posting a photo of the front door.

I had a great meal of corn and crab fritters and the fried fish platter on the rooftop. The view was great. The staff were excellent. Very good gluten free selection. The fried fish came out super hot which I liked. The fish was crispy, light, and not greasy at all. I loved the coleslaw. Mill Street’s slaw really stood out from other restaurants in town. Sauces such as the ranch and the tartar sauce tasted like they were made fresh in house.

This was our second visit and it was really nice. The spring roll salad was really different in a good way. The fish & chips was enormous and delicious, as were the fried oysters which were available as an add-on. The short ribs were really good too. The window tables give you a nice view of the water. Update: our third visit was just as nice as the last. Don't sleep on this place, the food here is delicious!

We were here on a quiet Sunday night. We made reservations but none were really needed. The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. This place is absolutely fantastic. Upon arrival saw that we had access to an absolutely gorgeous view. We were sat next to the window and immediately had service. I want to shout out Rob, he did a fantastic job giving us a rundown of all of the specials and serving us, he's definitely a professional. I had the Shrimp Po Boy and Hushpuppies, both of which were outstanding. My brother and Dad both had the Blackened Grouper Sandwich, and they devoured them, typically we all leave with to-go boxes with servings this big. My mother had the Oyster Po Boy and She Crab Soup and she also attests to their quality. All of us want to give a 5/5. If you need any other reason to trust my word, both of my parents worked in a seafood restaurant similar to this establishment for 15 years, and even they were impressed.

LOLO'S is excellent ☆☆☆☆☆ The food is great and the seafood is fresh. Try the buffalo shrimp! I love their crabcakes. Our server Kelly was so nice and checked on us often. All of the staff are pleasant. The atmosphere is "seafood diner", casual with a bar. If you're dining in the evening, sit outside or in the back dining room ~ the sunset view is AMAZING. Our family highly recommends this restaurant ✅️

Our first time in South Carolina, our first taste of lowcountry fare, and it did not dissapoint. The Shrimp and Grits that we've heard so much about was amazing! Perfectly done, wonderful flavor. 5+⭐ ALL AROUND! I can't tell you how many times we've passed Lolo's and said "We should really try that place!" Decided to stop in on a Friday night at the suggestion of Mike. The sun was just starting to set so we took an outdoor seat with a sunset view. It. Was. Perfect! Nancy was our server and made us feel right at home! The kids felt comfortable ordering on their own and she spoke to them instead of ignoring or looking at us (we appreciate this!!) 🍲 We tried a cup of the She Crab soup, and this was our first time! Hubby enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I'm a fan. Of course, it might just be that I enjoy soup more when it's colder outside. 🍽️ The 5yo requested a hotdog with hush puppies and there wasn't even a question at the request! ♥️ The hotdog actually looked really good, which I wasn't expecting! 🤣 🍽️ The 3yo asked for "plain shrimp" (broiled) with fries. Again, no issue! He ate every last shrimp, so they were a hit! Usually he'll do that and just eat the fries, so that's when we know it's good! 🍽️I had the shrimp burger and I don't know what I was expecting, but this was similar to a crab cake but shrimp. I really liked it! The dill sauce took it to the next level! 🍽️ Hubby had the grouper special for the day. It was a an herb crested grouper over a bed of wild rice with shredded brussel sprouts, mushrooms, pecans, onion and bacon. Plenty of flavor and also fairly white overall. His entire plate was cleaned. 🤣 We got to watch the sun go down while we enjoyed our food and knew that we had made the right choice! Nancy gave the kids little cups of whipped cream when she delivered the check (our son's birthday is this weekend), so that was a sweet little bonus! We look forward to returning! ♥️

Great place to fill your tummy after a day on the water. Awesome service & a fantastic menu. The drinks aren't bad either, I had the special Papaya Margarita, it tasted great and they definitely didn't skimp on the tequila as I was walking crooked on the way out😜

Update to my review 5/13/2024 Had dinner on Mother's Day. Realize they were busy but not slammed compared to a Friday or Saturday. The hostesses and servers are inexperienced and I'm thankful the restaurant gives them an opportunity but management needs to train them. There wasn't any ketchup on our table or surrounding tables. We were seated outdoors by the hostess station and asked them for ketchup since we couldn't find our server "be right back" never to be seen again. Checked condiment station outside and all were empty then went inside to check tables and it took 5 tables to find a filled ketchup bottle which I took out side and diners at adjacent tables asked to share. I ordered my favorite shrimp scampi and the bread was missing and I was told "sorry we are out of it". Also heard many complaints from surrounding tables about slow service and food coming out wrong from kitchen. I don't blame servers or hostesses, I blame management. Food was excellent. Love this place and want them to succeed. Update to my review****** Another awesome dinner. Live music, beautiful view, and super awesome server Hunter. Had the ravioli, only thing is I wish they had a slice of focaccia with it to soak up the delicious sauce. Seriously, the sauce was so good I hated to leave a single drop on my plate. Just wanted to give a shout out to Devin who was our server tonight. Thank you so much for making dinner a special night for our daughter Daphne. She is an adult with autism who is our people meter. If she likes you, you are gold. Most do not speak to Daphne directly and speak to my husband or I instead. Devin didn’t miss a beat, spoke to Daphne directly, and Daphne picked up on her golden personality and ordered her dinner and drink confidently which unfortunately is not common. Devin thank you for your kindness. Oh BTW the shrimp and grits and the short rib were awesome too! Update to my 9/1 visit. Had dinner this evening. Can't beat dinner on the banks of the Wando with a cool breeze and live music. Thrilled that garlic bread was added to the shrimp linguine entree to enjoy the sauce. Sydney was our server and she was a 😎.

Island Cabana Bar & Ship Store is a fantastic spot for a laid-back meal, offering an array of beers to mix and match in a bucket. The fish and chips are delicious, although some parts may be slightly soggy due to sitting after frying. The grilled fish tacos are bursting with flavor and highly recommended. If you've not been, here's what you need to know: This is adjacent to Seabreeze Marina. Parking is in the lot on the other side of the dry stack, but you could turn at the Seabreeze propellers and drive down to drop off those who can't do the walk so well. Second, don't be afraid to eat out on the boardwalk, although sunny, the breeze out there can make it more comfortable than on the shaded porch. Order inside and they'll give you a pager. When it goes off you go back inside and get your food at the pickup window. Wear whatever, it's a mix of boaters, fishermen and landlubbers seeking a tasty meal with a pretty marina view. Bonus is the Ravenel bridge in the background and the USS Yorktown in the distance. In the relatively small "ships store" you can pick up the drinks, snacks, hats, sun shirts, sun screen etc that you forgot to bring. Or pick up a cool T-shirt, hat, tumbler, souvenir.

The Island Cabana Bar and Ship Store is a hidden gem in Charleston! From the moment we sat down, the view of the Ravenel Bridge was absolutely stunning—perfect backdrop for a laid-back afternoon. The food was even better than expected: the Cuban sandwich was perfectly pressed with all the right flavors, and the fish & chips were crispy, golden, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Add in friendly service, a relaxing vibe, and a coastal breeze, and you’ve got the recipe for an amazing day. We’ll definitely be back—highly recommend!

The view was beautiful, I had the fish tacos and they were out of this world. Was a little busy when we visited but you don’t feel the time they view is just perfect

I visited Island Cabana Bar & Ship Store with my husband and daughter when we stopped for a quick snack. This place is excellent. The combination of the great views and the casual atmosphere makes for a perfect stop (an ideal setting!). We were very impressed by the food quality, especially for a quick visit. The mahi mahi bites are a must try—they were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning when we have more time to spend here.

I enjoyed this little coastal spot. Thanks for a great afternoon and delicious fried shrimp and fries. My food was perfectly cooked.

The food and drinks were great and we loved the atmosphere on the water by the bridge! I had the lowcountry fish tacos and a side of beans and rice. They also had a large variety of frozen cocktails, I got the strawberry daquari and it was delish. The location and parking were a bit tricky to find, just follow your GPS and it's just past the boat storage racks on the water.

Amazing hidden gem. This little restaurant is delicious and right on the water. The food was fast, fresh and so tasty. The staff were nice. The inside is super cute and they have a little area of assorted goods to shop. Plenty of beer and seltzer to choose from!! Like other posts say you do have to park down the road and walk but it’s not far at all. You also get to watch the marina workers move boats with a forklift which is pretty cool. Great place! Will go again!

Salty Mike's is a laid-back dockside bar located on the west side of the peninsula, offering stunning views of the Ashley River and Charleston Harbor. It's a popular spot for locals, sailors, and boaters to unwind in a relaxed atmosphere. The bar features happy hour specials with $2 domestic beers from Monday to Saturday and live music on Wednesdays through Saturdays. Visitors can enjoy walking along the mega dock to admire the boats and water views while sipping on cold drinks.
A must stop when I’m in town. A local legend. Great service and nice view on the back deck. Pool tables also.

Good views but my experience was soured by the bearded bartenders bad attitude. We were met with unnecessary rudeness and zero hospitality. I get that dive bars can have rough-around-the edges charm, but this crossed the line into plain unwelcoming.

Being a small town gal now at MUSC, this place has been a slice of home during med school. Great atmosphere, even better staff. Cheap beer and incredibly kind owner(with an amazing memory. Haven't been in about a year and he recognized me immediately) which is very rare in Charleston. Much love to the staff for always being so lovely!

On the water, always good food and consistent with great views. Staff is friendly and if you’re lucky you were there when they have the Cinnabon.

Got the cool dive bar theme, but $14 for a glass of white wine that sells for $7 a bottle. Really!?

No frills or pretention hrer. Just a local marina bar with a fun bar tender, decent bar food, and cold beer. Love it!

Really cool dive bar right next to the Marina. I was always over doing it and failed to earnestly tie one on here. Really if you boated here all season this place would rock being right next to the Marina. Great view of the Marina and the coastal wetlands at sunset. Although with the mega dock it was actually a kind of long walk from Dragon's Lair to here, but still world's closer than down town.

Stopped by for a cold beer after visiting family at MUSC hospital. Friendly, laid back vibe and a sweet location at City Marina complex. Try it if you like dive bars, pool tables and a killer view.

82 Queen is a refined Southern restaurant that offers a special dining experience, making it a favorite for special occasions. The restaurant features an intimate courtyard with cast iron chairs and dining tables surrounded by greenery, providing a historical setting for enjoying savory Southern cuisine. Owned by Queen Street Hospitality, 82 Queen prides itself on serving classic Southern dishes such as she-crab soup and shrimp & grits, with a unique twist of barbecue mixed in.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner this evening at 82 Queen living up to its reputation of a classic Charleston 5 star restaurant. Our server Ashley was extremely friendly and informative. In fact service was perfect. The food itself was a great example of southern / Cajun cuisine. Oyster Rockefeller, jambalaya, spiced grouper all very well prepared and presented. Dessert of bread pudding ( clearly enough to share) was a fitting ending.

My husband and I did family style dinner, which I can recommend as there are plenty food items on the menu to try. We had the famous she crab soup, very nice rich creamy and tasty, the platter from the appetizer menu (not to exiting). Main was jambalaya and crab cake very good and chocolate cheese cake for desert. Downside no cappuccino or espresso. We were seated upstairs in the backroom next to a window with wall view. That was ok... but not too pretty

Had a great time here! We ordered the award winning she crab soup, the fried chicken liver, fried chicken and biscuit, and the crab cake Benedict. Have to say we didn't love the soup as much as we had expected. It was pretty thick and not enough crab. I did love the fried chicken liver though, it was perfectly fried and paired nicely with the grits. The crab cake Benedict was great and was a solid pick as well. Fried chicken had good flavor and loved the crispy bits throughout both entrees. Service was also amazing- we were taken care of very nicely by Philip who was attentive and kind! Overall solid brunch spot

Had dinner here while in Charleston recently - service was good, food was good. Tomato pie was better than I expected, we enjoyed it more than the shrimp and grits appetizer. Wife had the fried fish and grits and devoured it and talked about it for days afterwards. I tried the chicken bog out of childhood nostalgia reasons - crispy chicken skins were a nice touch, it was a bit light on the actual amount of chicken in my opinion so if you’re looking for a solid amount of protein I would choose a different dish. Would definitely return.

This She Crab soup is the best in town. That said, also get the tomato pie starter. Calamari is crisply coated and tender inside. Crab cakes are thick and luscious and both sauces enhance the experience. Fish and grits smothered with sweet corn and Vidalia onion is also recommended. Equal to the food is a charming atmosphere and exceptional service. We were accommodated beyond expectations. Shout out to Ross our almost-bartender because we were seated before he could start our drinks: thank you for your hospitality

82 Queen has been on my bucket list for a few years now. So here I was, finally, in South Carolina for my anniversary trip and I sure as heck was going to check this off the list. It was the most delicious way to end our trip 😋 First of all, Scotty, our server WAS LIFE!!!! We were seated outdoors on a beautiful night 🌙 As we got comfortable in our seats we discovered an anniversary card on our table (so sweet ❤️). We started out with bourbon cocktails, Muddled Creek, that were divine and smooth on the palate. For our starters we ordered a cup of she-crab soup, BBQ shrimp and grits and a crab cake. Scotty took our order but promptly came back and offered to "change our life" by suggesting we switch out the shrimp and grits for the tomato pie 🥧 And a life changing experience it most certainly was. The she-crab soup was creamy, but not heavy. The crab cake did not skimp on crabs, although I wish it were lump crab meat in it. And the tomato pie 🍅, oh my, was unbelievably delicious. It was creamy and cheesy, with bacon bits for contrasting texture and juicy tomatoes to round it all out. For entrée we shared the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meat was fall apart, the au jus made for a great gravy and the green beans had a lovely snap to them. We ended the meal with a slice of limoncello cake, my absolute favourite, and received a complimentary slice, which we shared with the couple at the next table. The cake was velvety and sweet and just the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner and trip. But wait, there's more. Just when we thought we were finished eating and drinking, Scotty showed up with champagne 🍾, a big smile and a "happy anniversary to you" so drink up. I almost needed a wheel barrow to get me out of there. Can't wait to go back ❤️

Stopped in to have a bite at the bar. They have several areas to dine including an interior formal room, a pretty courtyard and a pleasant bar. The bartender “Mel” was great, professional and worked hard to accommodate the customer. I only ordered a couple of dishes, the tomato tart, some oysters and a salad. Unfortunately the oysters seemed over cooked or had been left to dry under a heat lamp while the other food was being prepared I am guessing. The tomato tart was good however and the salad was fresh and crisp, however the menu said the salad was priced at $15 and I noticed after I had been charged $21 ( not sure why although I asked for some extra dressing, but $6 - not sure). Anyway, a pleasant restaurant and worth a visit.

A lovely lunch in the bar area. Friendly service. The sauce on my BBQ shrimp and grits overpowered the grits a bit but still very good. Wife enjoyed her fish and grits. Excellent atmosphere.

Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar is a must-visit destination for seafood enthusiasts in downtown Charleston, SC. Nestled in the vibrant heart of the city, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere with its charming brick walls and clubby vibe. The menu showcases a delightful array of fresh, local seafood that highlights the essence of Lowcountry cuisine.
Great place, awesome location and wonderful service. The shrimp were cooked perfect, tons of flavor. Oysters top notch, topsail were my favorite. If you have kids, definitely try a bite of Fry's or mac & cheese...both were delicious. The shrimp and grits was dynamite and nice sized portion. Only critic was the crab cakes a little dry, but packed with flavor.
Christopher G — Google review
The location is in the heart of Charl. The exterior and the feel when you walk in are nice. The tables are very small, and the waiters are always on their toes when two dishes arrive. I recommend not going without a reservation. Generally, the food, and of course the oysters, were good. However, the cocktails were abysmal. They were very simple, flavorless, and lacking in attention. Even though our son took some great photos, don't let them fool you. :)) The prices are quite high. I'd say it's in the middle of the price-performance ratio.

Had a great time! My husband said the raw oysters were the best he's had since we arrived in Charleston. I enjoyed the peach salad with the catch of the day, which was halibut. It was cooked perfectly!

We came here for dinner to celebrate my friend’s birthday after looking at their menu. It was a really nice day out so we opted to sit outside. We started with the calamari steak cut and it was pretty good, but felt like it could’ve been crispier but based on how they were cut like “steak fries” it was more on the soft side. The crab cakes with mash potatoes were bigger than I expected. The mash was a touch too salty for me, on top of the already savory crab cakes and sauce so it was a little over powering although the flavors were good. My favorite dish was the risotto with seared scallops. They had the perfect sear and texture along with the creamy risotto. Our server checked on us from time to time but we didn’t converse with her much. We didn’t get offered anything for her bday and it wasn’t a super special experience but the service was still good in terms of how everything was paced and our waters stayed refilled.

Visited Amen with a friend on a vacation…the food was out of this world! We had the shrimp and grits, shrimp po boy and key lime pie. Server was friendly and personable and my water was kept full!

I last minute booked a reservation for my husband’s birthday at this place. Before this dinner i had never heard of Amens but oh my god was it the right choice. They got us into our reservation an hour early (we were happy to wait, but figured we’d would just ask), our server Danelle was AMAZING! Danelle absolutely elevated our experience at amen. She gave us plenty of suggestions, never rushed us, and was so pleasant to interact with. The food was also 10/10. We are new to eating oysters and i think we may like oysters a lot now 😂 bourbon glazed salmon is a must if you try Amens!

FIG is a downtown restaurant that offers an upscale take on Southern cuisine in a relaxed bistro setting. The menu features seasonal dishes made with high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant's minimalist decor and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere for diners seeking gourmet food without the formality of fine dining.
Fig is a dining experience. The curated menu with the ambiance and attentive service is one of a kind. Our server was knowledgeable about every item on the menu and recommendations on what paired well together, and depending on if you were looking for savory, or fresh, or light he knew it all. The service was immaculate with utensils being changed out every course, water being filled without being asked, and never being reached across. The oysters with the curry butter were perfectly paired. The oysters just slightly cooked, probably with just the hot butter, without any chew or rubberiness often times an overcooked oyster has. The tartare was extremely tender and the perfect temp, did wish for a little more salt on mustard mixed in. The ricotta stuffed gnocchi with the lamb meat sauce was super tender and not gamey. The bouillabaisse is an absolute must with flaky tender fish, and vibrant shrimp. Flavors were unmatched. The Sorghum pudding is the perfect dessert, and their latte was deep with flavor. While on the slightly pricier side for Charleston, this was an experience altogether and not just a simple get your food and get out. Must try.

FIG is the perfect spot in Charleston to go for a special occasion. Everything is made to perfection and the service is 10/10. This is one of the few menus where we are open to trying absolutely anything because we know it will be amazing. We had Alex as our server and he added to the experience, being able to perfectly describe complex flavors of the dishes and really paint a picture to how the dishes were made. It is pricey but very worth it. Make sure to get a reservation EARLY though because they sellout quick for weekends.

As always FIG was an amazing experience from the service to the food. We decided to do a dinner of appetizer and were incredibly happy. The chicken liver pâté was fatty, silky and delicious. The pickles shrimp paired very well with the local vegetables. The tomato tart was the highlight. They only have it when tomatoes as in season but if it’s on the menu it’s a must have. We finished with our pasta course of blue crab ravioli and gnocchi. Both were delicious and my wife and I fought over which one we liked more. I was a fan of the blue crab because of the distinctive blue crab taste and sweetness. My wife loved the pillowy gnocchi. You can’t go wrong with either one of these dishes.

Long time Charleston visitor from Orlando. the hospitality is noticeable. As a consistent Party of One, I often feel rushed in restaurants. They didn’t rush me at all! I felt at home. Also, I absolutely hate when restaurants take away the other serving after I’ve sat down. It makes me feel low key loser-esque as I always dine solo. Like my food mate decided not to show up. Other patrons see that and it’s not a good look. Not FIG. The setting for one was already there and I enjoyed that feeling. Again. Hospitality and paying attention to the reservation goes a long way. Very charming eatery

Reservations fill up FAST, and rightly so! I’ve been here twice now and it’s a must go if you’re in Charleston. My recent visit was as good as the first. Our party of four had reservations for 715p on a Friday night. We were seated right away and service was prompt to arrive. We started with a bottle of I Vigneri Nerello Mascalese, which ended up pairing well with the dishes we selected. We ordered multiple small plates to share. - Beef Tartare + Maxim Potato, Vine Ripe Tomato Tarte Tatin, and the Ricotta Gnocchi + Lamb Bolognese. While each of these was delicious, the gnocchi was definitely the stand out. Moving to entrées, we ordered the Brioche Crusted Flounder and the Pork Schnitzel. We also added the Yukon Gold Potato Purée. Everything was seasoned well and flavorful. For dessert we ordered the Sticky Sorghum Pudding and Olive Oil and Pistachio Cake. I have had traditional sticky toffee pudding many, many times, but their version with sorghum in it, brings it to a whole new level. This is quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had! From apps to entrees to dessert, everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was attentive. I will continue to visit Fig whenever I get the chance.

I was visiting a friend in Charleston and we couldn't get a reservation but like always the notify me function from Resy helped us out. 8pm on a Wednesday. The place was full but the waitstaff was attentive. We had the oysters, beef tartare, tomato tarte, and ravioli to share. Then, the schnitzel and flounder for main course. Would love to come back again.

Yum yum!!! I was craving a vegetarian hot dog so bad and I read online (from previous menus) that they had a great selection. Sad they don’t offer veggie dogs anymore but super stoked to see their other vegetarian options! I got fries, the chic feel ay veg sandwich, and the cauliflower! So yummy! This place is so great! If you grew up in the 70s or 80s, the decor is so much fun! But the food is incredible! The Notorious BLT is one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten! These are big enough to split... unless you are really hungry!

The place was jumping when we got there at around 11:30 because of the good weather and the local college crowd wandering in. Well known for its sandwiches and its retro decor, the place is filled with kitschy items on the walls, a Photo Booth, and a free retro arcade video game console in the back. Service was OK; the staff is young, polite, and attentive. Food was OK. We had The Devil Wears "Burrata” ($14) and The Paradise Panini ($13.50). The former was a bit greasy and the latter was more like a fancy grilled cheese… still good though.

We found brown dog deli on a quick weekend trip to Charleston and I’m so glad we did. The folly beach crunch wrap is creative, and delicious. It would be a great beach day snack. Personally, the apple butter jeans panini stole the show. The ratio of sweet to salty was perfection. Charleston Crab House is a laid-back restaurant with a friendly vibe, offering a menu focused on crab and other classic seafood dishes. Located on James Island along Wappoo Creek, it's popular among boaters and even allows guests to bring in their own freshly-caught fish for cooking. The Southern-inspired menu features favorites like the Carolina Platter, alongside an array of burgers and sandwiches.
Literally so good. We took a day trip here from Lexington to get local seafood and i am in love. The flavor was amazing. We sat outside near the water and had an amazing server. We got the boil baskets and i ate every bite.

I have been here multiple times and just keep coming back and bringing my out of town guests. They always leave happy, so I’m good with that. The service was really good. The food was good- We always like to visit the river in hopes of seeing the draw bridge up or the many dolphins that meet here at the dock. We sat inside but there is plenty of outside seating to see the lively sunset.

From start to finish, we recommend the James Island location 10/10. Michael, the Manager was so welcoming and accommodating for our larger party. He set the tone for our meal and the hospitality was incredible. Alyssa was our server. She was fantastic, attentive, and patient during our entire visit. The Carolina platter was more than enough food for 2 meals, and the dessert was perfect. The peanut butter pie was incredible. We visit this location every year on our family vacation, and will continue to come back each year based on the food and excellent service.

The atmosphere was delightful and family-friendly—great for a toddler! We enjoyed a beautiful view of Wappoo Creek and even watched the drawbridge go up for a passing boat, which was such a fun touch. The food was very good overall; while the fish was a bit dry, the scallops, shrimp, crab cake, hush puppies, and seafood pasta were all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Prices were typical for Charleston seafood—about $120 for three adults, one child, and an appetizer. A wonderful spot for fresh seafood with a relaxed, scenic vibe! Highly recommend the hush puppies and Carolina grits! Fantastic!

We came to the restaurant by boat at 4:30 on a Friday. It had been hot on the water, so we decided to dine in. We were early, so seating wasn't a problem. We were seated right away, and we had a great window table with a view of our boat, the water as well as the bridge over Folly road. Our server was quick and efficient. We ordered margaritas and opted not to have an appetizer. The boyfriend got the seafood trio, and I got the pimento burger with the pimento cheese on the side. Instead of the Waffle fries, I opted for Lima beans because this is Charleston. The burger was amazing, cooked, perfectly very fresh and the side of pimento cheese was cheesy! Almost overwhelming cheese sauce BUT quickly won me over. I tasted the boyfriend's seafood trio and the scallops were my favorite. He got the rice with red beans. I love red beans and rice and this was felt that the rice was undercooked. He loved it.

Restaurant
The Ordinary is a trendy seafood restaurant located in a 1920s bank building on Upper King Street. Since its opening in 2012, it has been a pioneer in the raw bar trend in Charleston. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes including oysters, crudo, caviar, and fish-head gumbo. It also boasts a rum-centric focus with an array of cocktail classics and house specialties.
It’s hard to live up to hype but The Ordinary delivered. Great service and delicious food and drinks. Loved the room - we were a group of 5 that sat upstairs overlooking the dining room. Get the oyster sliders, steak tartar and smoked oysters.

Our server, Alison, was very knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance and impeccable service throughout our dining experience. Started with the fish cake. Very light and tasty. I had the Red Snapper, so many flavors. Every bite was heaven. My wife, had the Waygu steak with mushrooms, so delicious! Usually, I am leery of going to a seafood restaurant and ordering anything other than seafood but in this case, I would not hesitate ordering the steak! For a side we went with their seasonal rice dish. So many flavors For dessert we had the Pannacotta paired with a glass of white port wine and Chocolate Hazelnut pot de creme paired with a tawny port. We savored every bite and enjoyed this dining experience, from start to finish.

We received a very generous gift certificate to The Ordinary as a wedding gift, as we were visiting Charleston on our honeymoon, and we had a wonderful and memorable dining experience from start to finish! We were impressed from the moment we were seated. The restaurant and bar spaces were expansive with huge windows and soaring ceilings, and beautifully decorated. We were welcomed at our table by a little handwritten card wishing us “congratulations,” and our server, Allison, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful. After delivering our cocktails and complimentary bubbles, she offered to take our photo and proceeded to arrange not only our seating but the items on the table to ensure a very nice shot! Our cocktails were uniquely crafted and very enjoyable, not too heavy or sweet. My husband ordered the crab cake appetizer and the snapper for his main course. I ordered the Wagyu Steak Diane and we shared a side of the seasonal rice (without the shrimp) - every bite of food was so flavorful! We paired our desserts with a white and a tawny port. Fabulous dinner and dining experience. I imagine it’s often said: anything BUT ordinary!

I finally returned back to The Ordinary, and it was just as good the second time. A staple is the Fried Oyster Slider, it is a MUST! So much flavor and the oyster is fried perfectly. Beware if you don’t like spice, there was a Jalapeño on it this time. Easy fix to take it off though. We tried the raw bar oysters as well— locations all in SC/NC. I prefer briney oysters, and I would say these were on the milder side. One of the servers actually described one as a “sweet marshy” 😂 For entrees my husband and I shared the MUSTARD CRUSTED BEELINER SNAPPER, and I was wildly surprised I enjoyed the creamed corn that it was with. I honestly chose it with minimal thought— the whole menu looked great. Our friend had the Smoked Bird Island Cup Oysters, and she said it was great. Only complaints were HUGE bites. Maybe avoid that for a first date if he/she takes you here haha. 🅿️Parking: always a struggle, but there is a lot behind the restaurant at the hotel for $$, or you can take a chance with Cannon Street parking. $$ expect to spend minimum of 100$ if you are getting entrees.

Seafood restaurant
The Darling Oyster Bar, located on King Street, is a stylish and trendy restaurant with a vintage appeal. The dining room has a gorgeous vintage-style design and features a lively raw bar that offers an array of creative seafood dishes and raw oysters from across the Eastern Seaboard. The menu includes popular seafood dishes like hand-cut French fries topped with house-made clam chowder. The restaurant also offers local beers and sparkling wines to accompany the briny bivalves.
So simple but so much better than simple. Shrimp cocktail with perfect seasoning. The lobster roll was full of large chunks of seasoned meat. The crab cakes were literally the best I’ve had in a really long time. Don’t sleep on the hush puppies and the sorghum butter. Service was on par with other high end restaurants without feeling fancy. Simple but perfect.

The Darling Oyster Bar had such amazing food! It was my first time trying raw oysters, and they were so good! It's really worth trying to stop in during their happy hour to get the discounted oysters. I got their fry basket with fried shrimp and fried oysters. The shrimp was fried differently from what I've had before, and it was amazing! We also got the crab dip to start, and it was good as well. They had a Mexican style cheesecake as one of their desserts. It was so good and had a lot of citrus on it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because our server was not very attentive. She rarely came to check on us, while the other servers were attentive to their tables. Everything else was amazing, and we had such a great time!
Beth R — Google review
Slid in at happy hour and took a spot at the bar. Quick and friendly service for oysters, crab dip, and a green salad. James River VA oysters happy hour priced for just $1 ea. plus a nice mix of regional oysters. The crab dip is a must. The salad had a nice dressing with crispy bread crumbs mixed throughout. Carrots, radishes, cucumbers sliced thin so they add to, not overwhelm. My Negroni was quite possibly the best I've had, and my wife enjoyed the Pear 75.
Bruce J — Google review
Not just oysters, but a good and interesting full menu. Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The food was great, The oysters of course were delicious, the service delightful and I even found a beer that I liked (not just overpowered IPAs or tasteless thin lagers!!) Would definitely dine here again.
Alan M — Google review
A delicious dining experience. Top notch service. The oysters were good and the peel & eat shrimp were top notch. Scallops were hands down best dish. The shrimp and grits were good, not great. Want to try the fresh catch next time it looked quite good.
Christopher G — Google review
Excellent experience from start to finish. My reserved table was ready upon arrival, friendly and attentive staff provided outstanding service, all my dishes (fresh oysters, clam chowder, fried shrimp) were outstanding. Highly recommend this terrific restaurant!

Amazing! First time here for us & we couldn’t be happier. Olivia was our server & she was knowledgeable & very pleasant. We ordered oysters (super fresh & clean), shrimp cocktail with some old bay seasoning, kale slaw (so fresh, clean, and no bitterness at all), and the hush puppies with sorghum butter. Everything was delicious, one of the best meal we have had in a while!
Laila S — Google review
Great food and atmosphere! The crab dip was superb, really all the food was outrageously good. We had hush puppies, fried fish and fries. Service was prompt and friendly. We made a reservation but ended up getting seated sooner.

The Restaurant at Zero George is an upscale eatery located in a quaint and intimate hotel setting. The hotel features 16 rooms and suites nestled in historic residences with lush gardens, offering a clean contemporary style and friendly Southern hospitality. Guests can enjoy complimentary wine and cheese on the porch each evening, as well as a continental breakfast featuring biscuits from Callie's Hot Little Biscuit.
My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary at The Restaurant at Zero George, and it was truly a magical evening. From the moment we arrived, the setting felt intimate and special, the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to savor every detail of the experience. Our server, Ray, was outstanding—professional, attentive, and warm. He guided us seamlessly through the evening, striking the perfect balance of attentiveness without ever being intrusive. His thoughtful service elevated the experience and made us feel genuinely celebrated on our special night. The tasting menu itself was a work of art. Each course was beautifully presented and showcased an incredible blend of flavors, textures, and creativity. It was clear that every dish required an exceptional level of skill and precision. We were also touched that the chef provided us with a signed copy of the evening’s menu—such a thoughtful detail that added to the magic of the night. We are deeply grateful to the chef and his team for giving us the opportunity to experience their culinary artistry. Zero George is more than dinner—it is an unforgettable journey of food and hospitality.

We celebrated my 30th birthday here and had an incredible experience. The vegetarian menu was exquisite. Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had to date!

This is a lovely restaurant with thoughtful, creative dishes and wonderful staff. Come with an open mind and try everything. The bar serves outstanding craft cocktails. If you aren't sure how to eat a dish, just ask - the staff are happy to help. I would put this restaurant at the top of my Charleston list, you won't be disappointed.

If this restaurant doesn't get a Michelin star next week, I will be surprised and disappointed. The experience was fantastic despite my high expectations. Staff was engaging and welcoming. Servers were very helpful with descriptions and suggestions. And the Sommelier was knowledgeable. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu with elevated wine pairings. It was not a meal, but a pleasant journey. And contrary to the typical Michelin 4 hour dinner, the pace here at Zero was perfect, approx 2 hrs. Our table room was quiet and easy to converse. I would have liked something printed to take with me describing food/wine we enjoyed.

We returned to Zero George to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and once again, the team delivered an extraordinary experience. From the inventive fall cocktail menu (the shiitake martini is genius!) to the thoughtful attention paid by the staff to my octogenarian mother, every detail felt curated and intentional. The meal began with a series of stunning small bites — true edible art — and continued with beautifully composed courses. The wagyu cigar remains one of the most delightful amuse-bouches in the Southeast, and the red shrimp dish was a masterclass in unexpected flavor pairings. The halibut with persimmon was perfectly cooked, and the wagyu sirloin with porcini and chestnut was bold and decadent. My only regret was not adding on the A5 wagyu, as my son is still talking about it from our last visit! Desserts were just as creative, with the shortcake and its balsamic center standing out as a highlight. The service was as gracious as the food was exquisite, and the entire evening left my mother reminiscing about fine meals past — from Cyprus to Seoul to Barcelona. That’s the caliber of experience Zero George delivers. An absolute gem. We already can’t wait to return.
Alexia P — Google review
We did the cooking demonstration at Zero George and had a wonderful experience. Chef Vinson Petrillo is clearly passionate about food and creating an experience for guests. We really enjoyed watching his craft and most importantly the food was delicious. My only critique is that the portions were small and there were not 'wine pairings' you were just handed a bottle of wine. Other than that one very small critique we cannot wait to return to try the full course tasting menu at Zero George.
Taylor L — Google review
The ambiance is superb and my dinner was one of the best meals I have had. Sophisticated and chic with elegance of historical Charleston as the backdrop. The night I went was a set menu with drinks or mock tails. Believe me the mock tails were in some cases better than the set alcohol drinks. The executive chef is a master of his craft & I wish I lived closer so I could experience the food more often.

Definitely five star restaurant. Food is so good and service so attentive. It was rainy night, we had great time. Fixed menu, $145 each person, my ten year old daughter enjoyed it. She ordered herself caviar, it was good.

Chubby Fish is a cozy seafood restaurant located in a warm neighborhood. The menu features an array of seafood dishes, complemented by an inventive wine selection and delectable desserts. In addition to the seafood offerings, the beef tartare with radish, nori, and ranch is highly recommended. The pricing is similar to another well-known establishment in the area but offers a more casual dining experience.
Absolutely incredible! Finally was able to go with a group of friends by having someone get in line at 4pm to get our name on the list for a later seating. Exceeded my high expectations. Every dish was so flavorful! I also enjoyed the wine list. Our waitress was helpful and service was paced well. Loved being able to share the dishes with the group. Highlights for me were the caviar sliders, the cauliflower and the tile fish curry, but everything was phenomenal. Easily one of the top meals I’ve had in Charleston.
Erin S — Google review
Great meal at Chubby Fish! This place serves incredibly high-quality food and creative dishes. I definitely recommend the caviar sliders, curry oysters, and the bone marrow with fried shrimp. The service was attentive and the atmosphere lively, making it a fun spot for a night out. The only drawback is that it gets very loud inside, so it’s not the best choice if you want a quiet dinner or are with people you don’t know that well. Overall, it’s a must-try Charleston gem for adventurous seafood lovers!
Gray S — Google review
Chubby Fish is such a gem! The service was amazing—our server was both attentive and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel special. The dishes were unique and thoughtfully prepared, with the concept of shareable plates making the meal even more fun and interactive. It felt like a true dining experience rather than just a dinner. On top of that, they were extremely accommodating of allergies within our group, which made us feel comfortable and cared for. Highly recommend if you’re looking for creative flavors, excellent service, and a memorable night out!
Michelle C — Google review
My fiancé and I visited Charleston to celebrate a very special week—my 40th birthday which my fiancé proposed to me on!—and Chubby Fish made it truly unforgettable. We dined there our first night in town and were absolutely blown away. After trying another well-reviewed restaurant the next evening and leaving feeling underwhelmed, we decided to return to Chubby Fish—and that decision turned everything around. The moment we walked in and mentioned our celebration, the staff treated us like royalty. Dani and Kate were beyond kind and attentive, making us feel like VIPs the entire evening. Every dish that came to our table was a masterpiece—fresh, innovative, and hands-down the best food we’ve ever had. And we don’t say that lightly. What really left a lasting impression was meeting the owner, James London. You could see how personally invested he is in every single dish. His passion and care are evident in every plate that leaves the kitchen. It’s rare to witness that kind of dedication, and it made the experience even more meaningful. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, buzzing with the kind of energy that tells you something special is happening here. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave—and certainly the kind of place we’ll never forget. Thank you, Chubby Fish, for making such an important moment in our lives even more magical. We can’t wait to come back.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. Simply amazing meal. Got in line an hour prior to open on a Thursday evening. Got a seat in the first seating. Proceeded to order until the server said "thats plenty", then ordered a little more. The caviar sammiches are a requirement. The gnudi was hands down the best pasta dish I've ever had in my life. The blue crab toast was magical, all that flavor but didn't over power the delicate lump crab. The lamb ribs were cooked absolutely perfectly. And many others. Well deserved success. Cheers!
Mike K — Google review
What an outstanding experience! We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs in action—such a treat. Every dish that came out was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Highlights included the oysters, crudo, summer melon with pork belly, sardine toasts (served with phenomenal bread and butter), and the bone marrow with tempura shrimp. Every bite was excellent. We ended the meal with the “Not Fried Chicken” ice cream dessert—so fun and flavorful. The service was fantastic throughout. Be sure to arrive before their 5 PM opening and be ready to line up, as they don’t take reservations. Also worth checking out: the charming little bar next door called Seahorse. A perfect spot to enjoy a drink while you wait!
Sabine M — Google review
10/10 no notes. Usually i would write a detailed review of a great dining experience but for Chubby Fish I want to encourage everyone to experience for themselves while sharing my thoughts on how to make it the best time. Line up around 4:30 -4:45 outside the restaurant. As most readers might already know from research they do not take reservations ahead of time. The doors open at 5pm and depending where you are in line you can sit immediately or get a reservation for later. The smaller your party the more flexibility. Ask for a 6:30 reservation even if they have space to sit immediately, you’ll want that time to start next door at their cocktail bar Sea Horse. Telling them you’ll be next door if a table opens up before your reservation time you might get to sit early for Chubby Fish. Sea Horse has a thoughtfully designed cocktail list and wonderful small bites that’s a perfect warm up for your dinner. Once seated at Chubby Fish share as many dishes you can. The team is inviting, warm and exceptional at what they do. Follow this guide and you’ll have a memorable experience.

if you are in Charleston, SC you have to go to Chubby Fish. The food, the flavors, the staff - everything was great!! Our waitress was knowledgeable and recommended great dishes for our group. We lined up right at 4pm and were able to be seated at 5pm with a group of 7. They explained they really try to get everyone on the waitlist in and will stay open later just so people who want to eat - can!

The Vendue is a unique and refined hotel located in Charleston's French Quarter, occupying two separate buildings that were once historic warehouses. The hotel features over 300 pieces of original art throughout the property, including large abstract paintings and sculptures in the marble-floored lobby and a spacious gallery space. With an artist-in-residence program and on-site docents to guide guests through exhibition spaces, creativity is at the forefront of the experience.
The Vendue is a splendid venue in Charleston if you’re looking for great walking city with numerous fine dining options and boutiques nearby. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel’s art gallery decor was incredible, the rooms were beautifully decorated. Every morning, The Vendue staff delivers a “Brown Bag” of goodies with a banana, apple and a box of fresh baked croissants and muffins with strawberry jam and butter and a few treats every night. The guided art tour with the wine reception was a nice touch. Overall I had a great experience. Thank you!!!

Wonderful stay. This hotel has a chic, colorful, unique lobby that’s also an art gallery. The moment we stepped in the door they gave us a comfortable spot to sit down and the check-in person poured us a glass of champagne. The staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable. Housekeeping left us macaroons every evening. Rates were clear with no hidden fees. The location really couldn’t be better in the heart of the French Quarter right by the park and the pier, easy walk to restaurants, galleries, the Gaillard Center, and rainbow row. Nice wine reception every afternoon.
Jeanne P — Google review
We were impressed during our recent stay at the Vendue from the very friendly greeting when we parked near the front entrance. The valet staff brought our luggage in and parked our car. As we entered the door we were wowed by the elegance and by the works of art everywhere Among the nicest touches was the way Sarah greeted us as we entered. Instead of having to wait in line in order to check-in at a Hotel desk like most Hotels, Sarah greeted and checked us in near the front door. Sarah checked in with us to make sure we had what we needed and assisted us several times during our stay The rooftop bar also impressed us. Nemo took care of us a couple of times and helped push the Vendue above most other hotels. The rooftop bar is such a cool way to finish the day. For us, the combination of the artwork, luxury, vibe, and attention to detail pushes the experience way beyond the other competition The Vendue is THE place to spend your time while visiting Charleston

I was impressed by how beautiful and spacious my room was. Impeccable service from check in to check out. I was greeted with a glass of prosecco. Ice and Complimentary Macaroons were sent to my room. I needed some important documents printed for an interview Sarah called my room and asked how would I want the documents printed and organized them for me. I hope to be back again!! A must stay!

We went to Charleston for my birthday and had terrible luck from the moment we got there. Our accommodations at an Air Bnb style condo near King and Cannon ended up being a nightmare, and we chose to eat the costs and stay in a hotel our last two nights there. The entire trip changed once we checked in. The man who checked us in (I did not catch his name) was helpful and welcoming. When we returned later to get our keys, Virginia was so wonderful that it was one of the highlights of the trip. She was friendly and welcoming, but also seemed to genuinely care about making her guests enjoy their stay as much as possible. Our bags were brought to our room, and the nightly ice and macaroon deliveries, as well as breakfast pastries in the morning and wonderful robes just made everything even better. The rooftop bar was wonderful, even on a stormy day, and the service and quality of food was well above our expectation for a hotel rooftop bar. Even though the room wasn’t perfect (no mini fridge and the view was of a construction site that began work early Monday and Tuesday morning), the experience was. We won’t plan to stay anywhere else in Charleston again, and I cannot recommend The Vendue enough.
Rachel C — Google review
My boyfriend truly outdid himself by booking our stay at this incredible boutique art hotel nestled in Charleston’s charming French Quarter. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the perfect blend of historic charm and modern creativity that the hotel effortlessly embodies. Each morning greeted us with delightful breakfast baskets and refreshing mimosas—a perfect start to exploring the city. Every evening, we looked forward to the thoughtful touch of milk and cookies, making us feel right at home. The attention to detail and genuine care from the entire staff elevated our experience beyond expectations. A very special shout out to Harvey, who was hands down the BEST host we encountered. His warm hospitality and keen eye for making guests feel welcomed truly set this place apart. If you’re looking for an authentic Charleston stay with impeccable service and artistic flair, The Enclave at The Vendue is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!
