Peaceful & lush with intermittent sea views. Walk up the steps or get the funicular to the summit of E. Hill enter the park then follow the signs to The Glens. The trail starts at the far end of the park and goes all the way to Fire Hills. Varied paths take you through woods and open fields and across the river. Breathtaking sea views but be warned it's seriously up and downy in a few parts with steps down into the glen and up the other side. A great workout and more rewarding the further you go, around 8-10 miles there and back. Absolutely worth the effort though. Benches and good signage along the way. If you're craving a bit of green this is the place to go without having to get in the car.

There is free parking available although we walked up the hill from the seafront which was only a short walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful and entrance was free. Whilst at the museum, we visited the History of Hastings exhibit, the Agatha Christie exhibit and the permanent collections. What an absolute pleasure it was to wander around and to see such a varied and interesting selection of items. There was lots of written information, laid out in a way that made it interesting and enjoyable to read. Everything flowed really well and we felt able to take our time and really enjoy the experience. Although we didn't have any children with us, it was clear that the museum have really thought about how to engage children in the experience, providing lots of interactive elements, play areas and a huge range of books. I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone visiting Hastings and we would return again if passing, especially for new exhibits.

This museum is a local treasure, free of charge to enter and easily a few hours of exhibitions to see, covering a wide range of topics. Definitely not worth a day trip in our opinion. It isn't situated near town so if you're parking in town and plan to walk up, it is a long trek especially uphill too. Inside the museum, entry is free so that is a bonus, you just walk in and go on a tour yourself through the different aspects of Hastings through the generations. The history is very fascinating and there are a few activities for kids to enjoy too. Definitely worth checking out if you're nearby but like said, not worth a single day trip.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to venture out to this shop based on the reviews I read online. If you're driving, you won't find it by GPS, you will need to park in the paid parking lot and walk to find the shop. It is conveniently located on the 1st floor accross from the beach. The view is insane. They offer fresh "Catch of the Day" and all items are cooked to order. We ordered the calamari (delicious). It was so good I ordered another portion. The bummer is that it comes with only 4 pieces. It is served in a fresh bed of mixed greens with a slight vinaigrette dressing. The calamari were lightly breaded and very soft and tender. My husband who don't eat calamari, enjoyed it thoroughly. I wanted a 3rd portion but was told that all of the calamari was done 😔. Our server was a nice elder woman who was very attentive to our dining needs. There's outdoor seating but be mindful of the seagulls flying around...lol. We were able to get a nice table with the ocean view. We ordered the Monk fish which come with chips and tartar sauce. My husband got a side of mushy peas, which I enjoyed surprisingly because they're usually bland in taste, but not at Maggie's. Total cost: 2 Monk fish meals, mushy peas, 1 extra order of chips, 2 calamari, 1 order of haddock, 2 drinks (cider & apple juice) = £81

There’s a fascinating variety of creatures to see: from jellyfish, crabs, prawns, seahorses, and sharks, to stingrays, starfish, eels, octopus, lobsters, turtles, and even clownfish and other colorful tropical species. Each tank is well presented, and you can take your time learning about the animals while enjoying the calming atmosphere. The facility itself is well thought out – there’s a well-maintained toilet, easy access to fast food joints nearby, and a car park close to the seashore which makes visiting very convenient. What really stood out to me was the picturesque view of the mountains and coastline around Hastings, which adds to the overall experience when you step outside. Yes, the ticket price might feel a little high at first, but once you’re inside, it’s absolutely worth it for the knowledge, the atmosphere, and the joy of being up close with such amazing marine life. The service is very friendly. We went for the bacon chop option which was a superbly elevated take on gammon and eggs and was truly delicious. There were great seafood options and plenty of other things to choose from. They take card payments and food service is at the time of writing 12-4pm and 5-9pm. We were VERY pleased that we went here. The menu was small which surprised my wife. However the food was AMAZINGLY tasty and well prepared and presented. I had the Venison Sausages with a Whole Carrot a Cassoulet of Lentils and Kale with deep fried Kale as well. The cassoulet was VERY tasty and with the added texture and taste of the deep fried kale (similar in texture to deep fried seaweed) and the Carrot was excellent. Now the Venison sausage is VERY, VERY good, but the skin on the 2nd sausage was a bit chewy to eat, so I removed ALL the venison and ate every bit of the venison filing as well as clearing my plate of everything but the bit of sausage skin. My wife had Onion Tarte tatin with bitter endive leaves served with a Caper and Walnut dressing with Grated Cheese on top. Overall we were Overwhelmed at just how good the food was. The beer is good too and I had a non alcoholic drink which included Angostura bitters and fruit juices which was very good. If we lived in the area, we would visit this independent pub every week at least. Oh and I had a dessert as well of Whipped custard, (apple and toffee compote) or similar with a light and crispy tuile wafer, which was ALL a revelation. Never tasted anything like this dessert. It was starting to get busy and most tables were booked but I was able to grab a space and enjoy a really good fish finger sandwich. Didn’t take long to come out, the chips were banging, the sandwich it self was one of the best fish finger sandwiches I’ve had! The tomato sauce was delicious and I found out it was homemade, tasted like a tomato soup (in my opinion). Good service, lovely people who work here and the atmosphere of the people here a good time. Definitely come if you’re heading to Hastings or if you’ve live here and looking for something new.

We came for a few drinks but decided to stay for dinner. My main was Honey glazed smoked bacon chop, fried eggs, chips, brown sauce, and my dessert was Pevensey Blue cheese, treacle tart, ginger prune compote. The food was amazing. The bacon chop was a delicious new take on an old time pub classic. The food was full of flavour and and I did not even need to look at the salt and pepper shakers at all.
