Thanks to all the staff and greenkeepers and my work colleague Jonathan Marshall for the invite, you have done a tremendous job here.

The course starts on the old part, with a mature feel, clever routing, and interesting topology. But after 4 or 5 holes you cross the road into a newer field where the routing is straight back and forth, and the feel is much lower quality. It doesn't help as well that it's overshadowed by a huge landfill site with diggers running all day long right up against the course. Eventually back over the road for the last 5 or 6 holes which are very strong again. Headingley pitches itself as a £100 green fee. It's an ok course, but sadly the new holes, and the landfill let it down. There are better options nearby for £100, and for half that.

It's one of the best courses in Yorkshire if not the best. Quite exclusive to play, with only 250 male members it's often quiet although can fill up with visitors. It's not cheap unless you play with a member with green fees heading towards £200 around. It has hosted a Ryder cup and was also a designed by the man who designed Augusta national with a number of holes at alwoodley being the foundation design for a holes at Augusta such as the famous 13th par 5. Should be on your bucket list of a keen and serious golfer. Greens are always immaculate.

I haven’t played in quite a few years, so thought for £5 (plus £5 club rental) for 18 holes would be a good way to get back into the game - I will certainly go back and play this course again, as it was just the right mix of challenging and forgiving for someone like me. I used to live in Florida, where some of the most picture-perfect courses are located, and while obviously this course isn’t kept to quite the same standard, it is a value for money I have never experienced before! I’ve played courses that cost 20x as much for 18 holes and I can honestly say that none of them were 20x or even 2x the quality here! Very friendly staff as well, and the few other playing groups I came across were all nice and friendly. Wonderful place!

The course although not overly long is tight with quick running narrow fairways hemmed in by thick club wrenching rough ,the greens are always in superb condition and the speeds vary from quick to scary quick. The staff and pro staff are all very friendly the catering although a bit limited is excellent. Overall this course is well worth a visit but make sure you have your straight game with you.

Well the course was immaculately presented, the greens were absolutely fantastic as well as being quick and true, they also accepted 2 4 1s which was nice but as far as I was concerned it just didn't have the wow factor. I've definitely been to many golf courses where the people are friendlier and the golf course far more interesting. Visited the driving range with my brother, we didn't realise this place existed or what was available. Reasonable price for 100 balls on the driving range £12, usual setup, booths lined up and you whack a ball, but the booths have trackman technology so you actually know how far you drive the ball. I DIDNT REALISE THIS STUFF EXISTED. It's awesome, plus it has settings to play games against opponents. Played capture the flag, closest to the pin and longest drive, was surprised to hit 183 yards with a lob wedge. Great experience. Money well spent, the golf shop wasn't able to provide any clubs though so make sure you have your own. Beautiful grounds and stunning views. Free parking.
