In the lead up to it, the staff were amazing in particular Rich and Jakub in allowing me to view it numerous times. I chose a hot buffet and we had various options but they needed tweaking for dietary requirements, this was no problem at all, and menus were re-visited. The week leading up to the party, there was another viewing and the staff worked around my work schedule and stayed late, moved tables, humoured me and ensured I was happy. When the evening came, the room looked beautiful, the food was gorgeous and the drinks were flowing. Nothing was too much trouble. All my guests raved about the food and the atmosphere. It was relaxed, but special, really an evening to remember and I thoroughly enjoyed myself without having to orchestrate a thing on the night. They even kept the bar open later than arranged and were good natured when we finally called our ubers. Same again next birthday?!! Thank you Heaney and Mill, we'll be back

They really couldn’t do enough for us, even coming up with a signature cocktail for the birthday girl and designing little bar posters. Set in the Queens Arcade initial impression was wow quirky and was excited to eat here. Now let me tell you, the staff were lovely and friendly and yes I should have spoken up at the time. It was freezing inside, my cappuccino was warm not hot. I ordered smashed avocado on toasted sour dough bread. It was the smallest portion I've ever had of this dish and I left hungry. Staff are super friendly and really helpful. We ordered the samosas but as we got there close to closing, we were told the last ones left were not perfect and offered us them smashed and mixed with the sauces and veg as a chaat, it was amazing! The cafe has eclectic and warm décor that makes you feel like you've transported into another world. The menu has such a nice variety, and they cater to a variety of dietary needs. During lockdown, Cha Lounge came through in supporting the local community by organising fresh veg boxes and groceries for those who wanted to buy local or were sceptical of going to supermarkets. Later, they expanded to afternoon and cream tea sets that were perfect for date night or picnics. Once I bought a veg box from them, I couldn't go back to a box chain supermarket anymore. Dining-wise, I cannot recommend their brunch highly enough. You can taste that their ingredients are high quality and fresh. My niblings especially love Gemma's pancakes. We have also gone to a few of their curry nights which we thought was very delicious. If you're ever in Dock Street, do pop in and say hi, even if all you're getting is a takeaway cha.

Been here twice recently & both times the dogs have been given as good a meal as I have had, on the house! Only two other tables occupied. No one came to great us or offered us a table, so we just seated ourselves. It was then a good 10 minutes until we were approached and our drink and food order were taken. A further 10 minutes for a coke to arrive, followed by a further long wait and then us to prompt for our water to be brought to us . We requested a highchair and one was provided, but unfortunately, it only had one of its straps which meant one of the parents had to sit with a hand on the chair to stop the baby sliping through. Starters came. They were piping hot and very, very tasty. Further long wait, to which we were starting to panic slightly as we had a train to catch but then the mains arrived. Well worth the wait as they were lovely. We had a couple of the lite bite steaks, great value and the steaks were cooked to perfection, well seasoned. The guy we spoke to as leaving was very friendly and lovely to talk to but unfortunately, the service was very poor considering how quiet it was. A shame because the food was very good.

We were then told there was no lamb left. By the time the waitress came back we were ready to order food and drink all in one go, we ordered 2 pints of Guinness and the Sharing Roast. The Guinness, we have had countless pints of Guinness in here (always downstairs) and I'd like to say you serve one of the best pints of Guinness in Leeds! Not this day! The pints were brought over, I nearly spat it back out, I believe it still had line cleaner in it, it tasted very medicinal which is a cause for concern. We alerted the waitress straight away and she was expecting there to be a problem, she said the barrel had been changed and it hadn't been run through. We asked for 2 more, but requested them from downstairs as there was no way I was drinking anymore from that pump. Instead of bringing us 2 pints, she brought us 2 halves (as if we were going to complain again I guess?), she said let me know when you're ready for the next one and I'll go fetch it so we both said you may as well bring it now as we ordered 2 pints not halves. Much better pint, just like we're used to and no taste of line cleaner! Next the food turns up, but no cutlery which we had to ask for, we were then only brought half the cutlery so had to wait for a full set each. The food was a little disappointing, again not what we're used to from The Adelphi. To say it was a sharing Roast I don't think this was reflected in the volume of food, the Yorkshires felt like they weren't homemade, the best bit was the tasty pork belly, the rest was borderline average, again disappointing from previous experiences. The food was good we mainly all ordered burgers or chicken salad with a few extra rounds of fries to try to soak up the booze!! The toilets were far away and only 3 women's toilets!!! The toilets completely let the place down!! This venue is really large, 3 toilets were definitely not enough! As the night drew on there was a member of staff making sure there was no queue jumping and she had access to a further 2 more toilets in the staff area that she was guiding women to. The waitress was very good at her job we all had a great time. The place was loud with a DJ playing and people dancing right up to our table it's not the place to go to be able to chat . Aaron the manager came to check how our experience was whilst we were paying the bills, he asked what we were celebrating, a 40th, and then brought out shots for all! Not that we needed more alcohol. We stayed for a while and enjoyed the music before moving on. Would I do a bottomless lunch here again, yes but I would come earlier and be seated upstairs and then come downstairs afterwards to enjoy the party atmosphere.

Steak is done perfectly to my requested liking, generous portion of chips and their in house made butter complements the meal perfectly. My favourite was the ox heart with oyster sauce, it was an interesting texture that almost didn’t taste like heart (I’ve had chicken heart before) and the oyster sauce was creamy with a hint of oyster, I really enjoy the natural flavour of the ingredients, they were paired and chosen well. The mutton kofta itself was a bit tough and salty and in my opinion would’ve been better medium rare. The cherry tomatoes came with it were the best I’ve had, juicy and good balance of sweet and sour. The medium rare steak with pepper sauce was great too, we ordered fries on the side. Again the pepper sauce was excellent, it had a spicy kick to it, I’d buy all of their sauces. Steak was done well too. The basque cheesecake was ok, standard good cake, not too sweet.

I got the Thursday special (there's a queue system for the specials, you just give your initials and pay), and within 10 ish mins, I had a hot chicken schnitzel sandwich! £7.90 when you choose to add cheese, hot juicy chicken, and it's kept me full all day, (had a decent amount of salad in too). Once you have placed your order expect to wait for a while. You get to watch them freshly make and compile 100s of specials which seems a well oiled machine. But visiting last night we where very disappointed to see that they've increased the food prices dramatically. The food and drinks are now the same price as the restaurant above, somebody seems to of forgot this is a back street bar experience and in my opinion food and drink should be at least 20% cheaper than the restaurant ( which it used to be) The food is good but the portions small, they have started to be stingy, for example simple Pan con tomate comes as one slice and they charge £6.00, at that price they could at a minimum afford to be a little more generous. The artisan cheese platter, nicely presented but very small portions £16.75. To expensive for what you get and the environment you get served in. Then to cap it all they have the audacity to stick on a 12 % service charge. Like I said at the beginning of the review, we loved this place but in all honesty we won't be going back.
