I opted for lamb, while they got beef. My udon salad was plentiful with some great flavours, the shitaki mushrooms and asparagus in it were nom. My own gripe was edename were swapped out with regular peas. While many can see it as a bit of a drink with a cult following, as a big Guinness drinker myself, I had to try it first hand. We got the henchbox with curry goat and jerk chicken. Both were super fresh, seasoned to perfection and were bursting with flavour. A hidden restaurant underground between subway. Didn’t realise it’s a full vegetarian Indian restaurant. Ordered one of each that was recommended from the Bundo menu. The chicken kebab was a (bit soggy) bread base with some chicken (quite nice, but not a lot), lettuce, onion and sauce (i did ask for it without spring onions), which for the price i thought wasn’t great. The flavour wasn’t particularly exciting either which was a shame. The lamb was very thick cuts of ‘donner meat’, which my partner described as very processed and a bit sickly. Croquetas (three kinds, the chunky prawn ones with seaweed mayo were our favourite, along with lovely slow-cooked pork cheeks in red wine, steak with chermoula, and some extraordinarily tasty chicken thighs in a garlic and sherry sauce. When you walk through the door you are greeted by a towering figure with a huge grin and really good energy. His name is Barry, hes the owner. The bar itself is about 3 feet in length and Barry asks you what youre having then tells you to go find a seat. There's 2 rooms with seats and TVs, everyone gets to know each other there. Barry makes sure the energy stays positive, the pints are very reasonably priced, and you will have a good time. Im from San Diego, and will definitely be back! Since the booking of the table to secure our Sunday roast during our staying at Manchester, until the closing of the bill. The environment is amazing. We’ve been here a few times for bottomless brunch and it’s been faultless, great value, great food and even better service. They also have a good happy hour on cocktails and pints. The food was fantastic, classic British menu done to perfection and it’s an absolute bargain in comparison to other pubs of a similar calibre in Manchester. The fish and chips was huge and absolutely delicious, the batter was so different to any other fish and chips I’ve had and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The steak pie was full of meat and incredibly fresh and rich. It really superseded our expectations. Given the quality of the food and the portions I’d say they could charge more but they keep it at great value. But wow the chips, I’d go here just to eat the chips alone. The crispyness, the flavour, just everything about them was so good. My table didn’t have a menu and with there being no waiters, it’s a bit strange in 2025 to go up to the bar and ask for your food etc. Can’t beat a £5 double gin and lemonade either, wow what a price.

The food- genuinely lovely, I can't fault the food as a party of 2 we ordered the bass, chicken skewers, sea bream, massam, onions rings and omelette and I would struggle to pick a favourite really similar to the quality food served in District. The service- With a booking at 13.30 on a Saturday if anything the service was a little fast, we had ate and settled up by 14:10. So why 2 stars- We had ordered 2 drinks in the Edinburgh Castle downstairs and brought them up, I asked if this was ok and was told it was fine (no mention of a corkage charge). After leaving I noticed a charge "open drink" of £12.00 on our bill, something I think I would be ok with if mentioned/ highlighted in advance... .although disproportionally expensive in comparison to what we brought up and the price of drinks (we might as well have ordered 2 drinks in the retaurant). There was also a charge for a negroni on the bill for £11.50, this is something we didn't order or drink, in some ways it feels the oldest trick in the book and its almost my fault for not noticing but with an additional service charge of £11.63 (which I had at the time happily paid) on the total bill of £93.00 it seems 25% of the bill was incorrect charges. On balance I dont think we would return despite enjoying the food.

Whilst waiting for our friends to arrive, a staff approached us about their small menu that has shrunken even smaller as many dishes were unavailable. When our friends arrived, we were approached by another staff to inform us about the availability of dishes on their menu which was interestingly different to what the first staff had said. Another staff came over to take our order and he wasn't sure what dishes were available or not. Eventually, we ordered Chicken Wings, Pork Schnitzel, and fried Korean chicken burger. Nice simple menu with interesting burger toppings. I had the special which had the different Cheddar cheeses on. I like that their meat is ground Inn their own butchery so is fresh and able to be served pink which is quite unusual these days. Mr burger was amazing. The burger they explained are served medium pink except this was a smash burger that was stone cold in the middle and felt slimy to touch. Upon emailing the restaurant they blamed the uber driver for taking multiple deliveries (I live 10 minutes from the restaurant and the uber driver came directly from the restaurant to me) passing the blame on to the driver is quite shameful considering they also forgot part of our order as part of this which they didn’t acknowledge via email.
