The thing that stood out most was the service, which I would describe as Michelin-lite. Multiple employees even other than our main server coming by frequently to switch out silverware and used plates as soon as we were finished with something. I have no clue what this soup tastes like. This soup was so ghastly that it upset me to my core. I want my $ 24+ tax back. I changed my 4 star rating to a 3 because I can not believe that anyone would serve this soup to paying patrons. Management should taste this soup immediately. The aftertaste alone is enough to make you gag in confusion of what the taste is. I've never had anything remotely like this before. I gave it two tries and then decided no more. If you're hungry, you best order appetizers because entrées aren't large. Their sides definitely are wanting to say the least. So if you're thinking that way, think instead multiple chikun pieces in a sweet and flavor BBQ sauce with potatoes, red bell pepper, carrots and onions mixed into the sauce. Good but not ribs in the physical way you could be expecting and I was anticipating. Smoked Greens were delish and perfect. Mac and Cheese was okay. Vegan cheese sauce was lightly sweet, possibly from the plant based milk that's used? That was unexpected. Flavor overall wasn't impactful for me. Elbow macaroni was cooked well though. I had one of their signature cocktails which was very tasty. The fried green tomatoes were not overly breaded and had a crisp outside and not greasy. There was a little bit of heat in the spices. Next, I had blackened Rockfish with crab meat. The filet was perfectly done with a crispy skin and moist, flakey with good portion sizes. The happy hour menu is a steal! The oysters were fantastic and the cocktails were amazing. I would totally go for happy hour again. I do love their dinner menu however the portion is slightly on the less side. Walking in was great and our large party arrived early but was seated quickly. Drinks and food came out pretty quickly and both were tasty. I started with a strawberry lemonade crush and crab dip. The DMV is a total bust when it it comes to true soul food. Came to Baltimore (yes, I know it's not the DMV) and found this spot, and the reviews did not disappoint. I got the turkey wings w cabbage and fries . My partner got wings w sweet potatoes and mac. Everything was delicious. Although it was a tad bit too salty. Just a little. And the mac wasn't my kind of mac, everything was still so flavorful. It's inside the food court area. You can't see it from outside. The service is what you'd expect because everything is made to order. Took about 15-20 mins, but we didn't care because it's not fast food. Blackfamilyy owned and operated. Very nice people. Clean. I got the keow whan with shrimp..it was a green curry on top of steamed prawns and steamed broccoli with white rice. It was just boiled shrimp and broccoli with the sauce on top. (Thai food is typically cooked/wok fried together in wok/pan, not simple boiled and sauced.) The sauce was too salty and didn't not taste like green curry, or any curry, especially any Thai curry. All you could taste was salt. I don't remember the name of our other curry and rice dish, but it was also too salty and prepared in the same manner. There is a small amount of food for the price charged. Good Thai food does not taste like this. Was hoping to find a gem, found disappointment instead. Wouldn't go back. Would not recommend. There is absolutely no way any of the positive reviews posted are legitimate. My first sign that I should have walked right out was the smell in the restaurant. Had I not pre-ordered my food I would have walked out because of the smell alone. My guilt kept me there. My second sign was the big bucket of pre-cooked noodles that was open and drying on the counter. My third sign was the fact that he was keeping the clearly old and likely unsanitary original containers that food is delivered in bulk in. Now to the food. My pad thai was fried noodles with soy sauce on it and some unseasoned, literally completely unseasoned, tofu and broccoli. It was an oily mess and it had no peanut sauce, bean sprouts, or really anything to make it count as pad thai besides the owner/chef's belief that his creation is pad thai. Finally, the owner is not mentally sound. I do not say that in jest. When I politely asked about the food, he flew into a rage and threatened to sue me. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs.
