Normally gift shops are steep, but this one is not that way. Everything is priced really fairly and has been curated over many decades. I spent about 2hrs at the museum. The museum two buildings, the round mosaic building has 4 floors of art. When I was there it was mixed media. The second building (which you get to by walking through the outdoor sculpture garden) has kinetic art, which means it moves! It has three floors, the third one lets you go into this cool birds nest balcony. There is a lot of attention to detail and cohesion, jam packing art even into the bathrooms or elevators. The stair railings incorporate the cast metal look tree branches and organically bent metal tubing that cohesively can be found if you look closely in the benches, outdoor sculptures, and door handles across the multiple buildings. Multiple floors in both buildings (ticketed only $10), plus a sculpture garden and tree house you can walk through, ticket or not. Eli, Laura & Natalie are incredible program leaders that kept our girls engaged and they were so kind and knowledgeable. The overnight was 1000% worth it. The zoo itself is well staffed during the day, clean, and the animals are visible. The walk up to the zoo is nice but you can also take the shuttle. The carousel and the train ride are free. Giraffe feeding is under $10 and worth it. We have previously been to breakfast with a penguins which I also highly recommend. Overall this is a must visit spot and the extra programming is worth it.

Wish they had it some better understanding accommodations and staff. The entire downtown was blocked off for some bicycle event. With that we got there super early and our original plans had to changed because of the blocked area downtown. So with a lot of people not there for there session, they could've let us go on standby or just go in earlier since noone was there. (we had a reservation it was just for later) Instead of anyone being understanding, helpful or like yes sure go to standby (if we wanted to standby we would have to cancel our reserve bands for standby which made NO sense, since noone was there because of the closures.) Like Imma need peoole to use some common sense ro easily say ok you can go to standby and if not everyone come in then u can go, waat fix. Then the meet and greet was 1 picture for 10 seconds and thats it. Then on top of all that the power went out and all day they were running on a generator with no air conditioner. I ended up with a migraine but an ok 5 yr old who seemed to have fun. I did like that you can bring food and eat in the cafeteria area and the lockers are free to rent! They are also installing a new play area so maybe we will go back in a year. I def cant do that again during that bicycle event that closed down all of downtown.

Even living here in the city, I find the museum somewhat hard to describe -- it's about industry, yes, but I think I would think about it more like a history museum of Baltimore with a specific slant to it. My personal favorite was the exhibit related to printing; if you visit on a weekend they have a working 1930 linotype machine! (The linotype machine was designed here in Baltimore, and revolutionized the printing process.) The volunteers were so kind about answering so many of our inane questions. I also liked the Domino Sugar sign remnant, which is positioned right in contrast to the current signage in the window, which is fun. The museum complex itself is very cool, too; it's a former oyster cannery but it's got beautiful views right on the waterfront.

We were so happy to actually have fun learning and get the teachers off our asses for a good hour or so. Then me and the boys went to the bathroom and splashed each other with water on the crotch and made it look like we peed ourselves. We hit the science center and then toured the ships at the Harbour. Each ticket consisted of 4 ships to tour. Adult price was $22 each. Children 5 and under are free... The Constellation, the Chesapeake Lightship and the U.S.S Tursk Submarine. The ships were really cool to see. Our grandson loved it! The Constellation has very narrow floors. Im 6'3 and literally had to walk through it with more than my head down. It's nice to see what things looked like on the boat. The beds , the cabins, the kitchen area and so forth. Some tiny rooms had 5 beds in it!! Im not sure that 5 normal people could even stand in the room at once. Im tall and slim and in no way, could I could have survived. I guess most guys back then were small lol. The Submarine was really interesting. Please be aware, if your over 6'5 , over 200 lbs or over 60 years old this may not be for you. It is small to maneuver through and requires some good hand - eye coordination and some good bones lol. The Chesapeake Lightship was the only one that seemed to have room to walk through. However, all of them had some small steep steps. Please be careful not to hit your head. From the top of the ships you are presented with some nice views. We didnt encounter many other people there. Maybe a few but not many. It was over 95 degrees the day we went so there wasnt a ton of people outside like us lol. The tickets last all day I believe. You can take pictures, read all the information boards, move slow and take your time if you can. Im rating the historic ships of Baltimore tours a 5 out of 5 stars. It was worth the money... especially if your able to tour all 4 ships.

It encompasses a museum and historic house with the history of the making of the flag itself (self guided tour) and goes really well with a visit to Fort McHenry! There is the main museum and then a synagogue on either side. The main building has two exhibits and a gift shop. Make sure you check out the gift shop before they close as they close promptly on the dot. The main exhibit (Voices of Lombard Street) is a tour around a Jewish neighborhood area and a personal visit to a Jewish home and deli. Very personal details and definitely informative. I saw this last and feel I did not have enough time to read and understand what was going on and how it was related to the Jewish people. The first one we saw is no longer in use but you hear the history, see some original parts of the building and see the service area. The second synagogue is still in use. It was very intriguing to see the inside as a non Jewish person. I would recommend seeing this even if you are not Jewish. It is a part of history and interesting. We had to walk in the rain for part of the tour but that did not bother me.

Attended a mid-week play so there was only one play being presented. However, within Baltimore Center Stage there are several small theaters where multiple productions can go on at the same time. Our theater was small and intimate. We were about four rows from the stage and the actors and stage setting were close, easy to hear and really made the story come alive. There were places to grab a drink or snack but one was closed and the second floor snack bar seemed limited in offerings, at least for a matinee. They were both super knowledgeable and a delight to converse with about so many aspects of this fantastic site. The grounds are lovely and while a number of structures no longer exist, in some cases one can see the foundational remains and only imagine how impressive this home must have been previously. Amongst the 48 room mansion you will be stunned by the famous John Work Garrett Library. There are over 30,000 books, some of the oldest and rarest in history. The library is opened to public for private event's upon reservation. The mansion is filled with amazing original artwork like picasso, François Auguste René Rodin and many other collectors and patrons of the arts. There is even a guest book signed by all of The Evergreens visitors including Amelia earheart. I was very impressed by the many layers of architecture and history this beautiful place has to offer. I recommend visiting in the summer so you can experience the true beauty of the formal gardens but any day out of the year is perfect if you want to retain a part of history.
