Paid car park nearby. Overall a fantastic experience, food was of a high standard and service was exceptional!. Took my mum for her birthday we all enjoyed our meals and felt it was great value for money. The waitress went out of her way to ensure we were ok and she even gave our little one some paper and pen to keep her entertained whilst waiting for food. They offer a £5 meal for kids with options, our daughter opted for egg fried rice with chicken balls and curry sauce. This was helpful as most young children don't eat much so the buffet would've been wasted on her. I Was almost put off by some negative reviews on TripAdvisor and other places but glad we went and took the chance. Look forward to dining here again in the future, felt bad as we wanted to leave the waitress a tip but didn't want to cause a scene over it. Will definitely tip her extra next visit for the outstanding service she gives to make up for not having the courage on this occasion. Only gripe for me was on the food side my shredded chilli beef barely had any beef inside. But one meal out of so many makes little difference, But the rest of the food we had was faultless. The host was also very attentive too always coming over to ask if we needed anything more and taking time to explain item's from the menus to us, would definitely recommend.

I placed the order over the phone and was told each item I could eat which was gluten free and safe for me. They had double checked this with the kitchen staff too. Have walked in once to order and have phoned them up to give instructios on another occasion. Have been using them for well over 10 years. In that time I've placed around 40 orders and spent well over £1400 on them. They were my go to takeaway. He then asked "You wanna cancel?", normally I'd say no, but as his attitude was so rude and aggressive I said yes. 2 days later £54.39 was taken from my account. I tried to claim from Just Eat, but they told me that the restaurant had marked it as delivered, so that was that. When dishing the food and putting over the chicken in black bean sauce we discovered a huge king prawn which ruined the whole of the food as everything tasted of fish. The food was equally terrible. Waited almost 40 minutes to get food after ordering, was told some of what I wanted which is on menu was unavailable. Then when food came order was messed up. Gave us 3 meals when we asked for 4 meals. The chicken was not fully cooked, overall too much salt used in food. Made food unenjoyable. Chicken couldn't be eaten as it was pink and raw inside. When I called to complain at the service received I asked for general manager but was told yes at fitst but once they knew I wanted to complain all of a sudden the manager was no longer there, there was no effort made to make ammends just an apology. Jus a big disappointment after telling friends and family about Nipa hut and my first experience on it's opening week. Needs serious improvements me my friends and family will not be going there again. I would not waste my money or time.

But back to Chun Ho and its current guise. For me one of the best in newport that really cook there Chicken Balls diwn crispy so they are not doughy and lighter to eat, the seafood is always clean and fresh. Thirty five minutes later I called the restaurant and was told our food was just being cooked and would be sent out with the next available driver, another half hour later I contacted just eat who spoke to the restaurant and said it would be with us within 25 minutes. By this time we were absolutely starving and it was clear the restaurant were just plucking ramdom times out of thin air and our food probably wasn't even started yet, so having spent the entire evening waiting for Thai food we had to re-order Indian in the end. If they don't have the driver's they should cancel online orders rather than let customers wait around all evening for food that never arrives!
