There were bugs in the food. When I complained with the owner, he wasn't willing to accept it. I found 2 small bugs, heavily soaked in oil, in the food. Owner didn't accept that the bugs were in the food. I couldn't eat after that. Not recommended at all. Check your food before you eat here, not worth it.

Very clean, organised and easy to walk in from off the street. It had some authenticity feeling about it which was nice. I spend a lot of time and have lived in Thailand for many years. I don’t generally go out for Thai in Australia though my friend really felt like Thai. So here is the breakdown….
We ordered fish cakes which were flavoursome, garlic/pepper chicken stir fry (chicken tender, vegetables crisp n fresh and sauce delicious. Tom Yum goong (salty,sour n sweet and so so fresh and the prawns 🦐 were of great size. Tom Kai seafood simply irresistible. The creaminess of the coconut soup and touch of sourness was so nice. Sitting out front with the sea breeze was an added bonus. For Thsi food in Australia and location l would give it a 7/10…

We ordered takeaway vegan pad thai, and they had confirmed it was vegan twice. When we got home and I started eating the food, I noticed there was egg throughout the meal and had to throw it away and went without any dinner. I wrote to them right away to no response. This happened twice so the next time I was in town I physically went into the shop. I spoke with the owner and she said she would refund me $15 only for the 1 meal. Disappointed with the service, there was not even an apology, just a quick cash payment of $15. Had there been good customer service and the whole $56 bill be refunded in way of an apology for my inconvenience I would have felt better about my experience there. It’s just lucky I don’t actually have an allergy.

Do not waste your money ordering food from here. The worst Thai food we have ever had. The satay chicken skewers were horrible and full of fat!!
The rice wasn't cooked properly.
The pad see ew was tasteless, had no flavour or sauce and was burnt! The dessert was disgusting! Ordered the banana with sticky rice and ice cream. Firstly they used canned bananas and secondly mine had a hair in it!!! They went straight in the bin with the rest of the food.

Very poor quality in terms of both food quality and portion sizes. A good Msssaman should be rich and creamy but ours tasted like a bland supermarket-packet curry with a few chunks of tough beef thrown in. The vegetable soup was equally poor and the beef salad was an overpriced, undersized act of pure cynicism. The one offset to poor dining can sometimes be found in a reasonably priced drinks menu, but 9.50 for a 330cl Singha is a gouge. Pick another restaurant or make some Thai at home.

Good Thai food. We came here for dinner and had the red curry chicken, drunken noodle and mixed entree. Our dishes were cooked well, tasty and spicy, and presented well. Food was served quite quickly and it was reasonably priced. Ambience of the restaurant was decent and service was ok. We were nearly put off coming here from reading some of the reviews but would definitely come back if we wanted some more Thai food when staying in Yeppoon.

Googled this restaurant and it said it was open and it’s opening hours stayed open Sunday night until 8pm, so then tried to ring no answer so made an online order, payment came out straight away after placing order, then an email came through saying order was cancelled and refund would take a week or so to come through. So got into car to go see why this happen and get our refund the restaurant was closed. Now have to chase our bank to get refund back.
Not good should have said closed online. Won’t be going back now.

Visiting this truly “hidden gem” is an experience in itself. Located on the grounds of an abandoned resort, the restaurant exudes an aura of mystery. Definitely worth visiting just for the experience. The food was excellent. Reservations are necessary and they don’t exactly pick up the phone due to limited hours. We tried their grilled eel, large tempura plate, and mixed sushi. Everything was well made and the decor was pleasant as well. Highly recommend.

It was the most authentic Japanese restaurant in rockhampton. I usually don't go to any sushi place in rocky as they are usually too sweet with same sauces or very little fillings or having low quality of raw fish for sushi. This restaurant opened my eyes, although at first it was quite difficult to get to the place. The price was a bit dear but was 100% worth it. Loved the dining experience here and would definitely recommend for any special day. The food was amazing and very authentic, with a nice view as well.

Absolutely great place for authentic Japanese food in Australia.
Together with my partner and my friend we came here and had really good dinner. We shared Karaage, Agedashi Tofu and Edamame as a starter and had Sushi and Shogayaki as a main.
We loved loved loved the Agedashi Tofu and Sushi! A little bit disappointing was the Karaage, compared to the ones we know from Japan or in other Japanese restaurants in Australia- but still a 5/5 and looking forward to coming back to try their lunch menu!

The food was good, but the end of the night was honestly ridiculous. Variety of buffet options which were very fresh and continuously replenished on the night when we dined in. The atmosphere was hard to chill out in as it seemed quite busy with everyone coming in to purchase takeaway at the same time. It also felt pretty hot in there despite the A/C they had running. The ambiance at Alfies Chow Down is fantastic and stunning, while the personnel are friendly and hospitable. They even offer a complimentary serving of popcorn. Overall, it's a lovely beachside eatery that I would highly recommend for an evening outing.

I was super eager to try the new Asian style menu and it did not disappoint. The food was all delicious and fresh. You can order at your table using a QR code which I personally love as it gives you the opportunity to change you mind last minute without feeling awkward which I tend to do🤣. You can also order at the bar if you prefer the personal interaction. The food is served family style and is served as it's ready so it's nice and hot and not sitting around waiting for other items to be ready. We had quite a few dishes and I was so full, couldn't quite make it through everything but luckily had my dessert stomach tucked away because oh my goodness that dessert was SOOOO GOOD!
I'll start with desert, we had the Viet Coffee Panna Cotta. It was sublime and so beautiful. The Panna Cotta had that perfect wobble. It was a bit sweet for my husband's taste but I thought it was amazing especially when you had a little of everything together. The coffee jelly is intense which I felt offset the sweetness perfectly along with the Pandan crumb and that little bit of chocolate aero was just delicious.
We tried the Asian greens, prawn toast, pork dumplings, fried chicken sando and citrus chicken karage. I think my favourite was the chicken karage which is chicken ribs but they had so much meat on them. They were juicy and delicious with a great crispy coating. The Asian greens were so good too especially the tasty little pieces of mushroom, yummy. It was all very good and as I said very freshly made and served.
The service is friendly and efficient and the decor and atmosphere is nice and relaxed. I'll definitely be back to try some cocktails and some of the other dishes.

I went there last Saturday with 3 friends. We ordered the foods all together at the same time. However, only one friend got the food after 20-25mins. Then another 10 mins later, other food served, then another 10 mins we got the 3rd food. We were not sharing the food, so it was quite awkward to have our own dishes. Two guy friends have already finished their dishes, and I still haven't gotten the food after 45mins.
We tried to ask the server and keep the patient, although all the staff seemed not to care at all about we waiting for such a long time.
Even though I was very hungry, I didn't want to pay for this bad service restaurant. So I asked for a refund, and they did for me "without saying sorry."

Honestly, even though I didn't have any food there, the price was extremely expensive for what you can get from there. My friend got ramen, with 3 pieces of chucky pork. And costs more than $25 something.

Great idea for a spot in Yeppoon to have a bakery / cafe like this. The menu has the usual breakfast/brunch options and some tasty sandwiches as well.
Unfortunately we were a bit let down with some of the dishes served up here. First off - the chips that were described as having “cheetos” salt were $9 and came on a small plate. I get cost of goods and needing to make a profit but this felt like it was pretty expensive to me - there wouldn’t have been more than 20 chips on the plate and there was no cheetos salt which was the reason we ordered them in the first place.
The sandwiches were ok - the Italian hoagie we got was described as coming with peppers. I’m not sure if the definition of peppers up here however we received a slightly pickled capsicum vs what I would call peppers. It would have been nice having something slightly acidic to balance the meatiness of the dish out (like guindilla peppers for example).
The bacon on the BLT was epic. Super salty and cooked to a nice crisp. I would say though the. Read holding the BLT was comedically large and not something you could eat easily.
We were super keen to try the bottomless filter coffee but this wasn’t ready (at 11am) and we were told it would take 15-30 minutes for it to be ready.
The waiters and cashiers here were lovely and the atmosphere was breezy.
I’m definitely keen to come back and try but there a few things that need improving before giving out 5 stars.

The sushi is absolutely the best I had in Australia, the rice is properly cooked and is only a thin layer around an incredibly generous filling, the salmon and avocado are always very fresh and I also like small details like the black sesame seeds between the salmon and the rice.
If possible, the service is even better than the sushi. I know, it's just a kiosk, you don't have much interaction with the staff, but every time when we shop there we are welcomed by a courteous smile, the service is fast and efficient and even if we don't shop there very often, the guy at the cash register always recognize my wife and he already knows what we would like to order.

Absolutely disgusting! Got 4 rolls made up fresh. The fresh salmon tasted like it had been out of the fridge for hours, the rice was gross too. Won't be coming back here, hoping we don't get sick.
Edit for the owner's response: We had them takeaway, returning to the shopping centre was not feasible as we had our young child with us. Besides, there is no fixing bad sushi and while I would accept a refund I certainly wouldn't accept a credit for somewhere that served food that bad.

A little confusing if this place is in business to make money or not?
Called there Saturday afternoon @ aporox 2.20pm & was told we are close no more sushi & then I asked why?
Was then told we are cleaning up ready to go home!
I then asked what time do you usually close?
& the reply was “ I dun no”
I know good help is hard to find these days but this young lady had no clue at all & expressed no interest in the business at hand :(
My suggestion would be to re train her for the sake of all….👎
