We tried as much of the menu as possible getting 12 of the small plates. As somebody who would usually choose Vegan options I was blown away at the taste and ingenuity of the food on offer here, literally everything tastes amazing. I was encouraged by friends who have been before to try the Celeriac steak and I was not disappointed. I couldn't recommend it more highly, it was the standout dish by a mile. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and we can't wait to go back.

We decided to go for their set lunch menu at a very reasonable £35 for two courses (bearing in mind a single main on the evening menu is £40 average), the staff were very pleasant and the sommelier was fantastic - my partner and I love Romanian wine and it just so happened that so did he so we had excellent discussions across some of the best food I've ever eaten. Haggis fritters as a pre starter were a smash. The starter of halibut and fregula was gorgeous, everything complemented and enhanced the dish, a lovely light pasta dish. Braised bavette was a surprise full of flavour. The pork selection was fine, rib was melting, but rest just missed the point, nothing to complain about but not as good as the other dishes. The desert was nice , but each dish had 1 element that didn't quite work, the basil sorbet was a bit over powering, and the piece of rhubarb needed a bit more poaching as it had a bit too much bite. Good selection of sweet as well as savoury pancakes. Staff are attentive and helpful. The woman who served us was happy and chirpy. The cafe is clean and bright. You can see the pancakes being made, right behind the counter, so you can have confidence in the cooking. Even when we asked for some ketchup we were told we had to wait for her to clean a table first! 2 drinks we ordered never arrived and we left the restaurant very disappointed and underwhelmed. The first time we have been, and we were looked after exceptionally well. The choice of food is wide. We had poppadoms and chutney whilst we decided on food. The mixed starter is a delight and plentiful. Many different flavours and textures. Main course we had the chana and cauliflower with cumin rice. The chana was a delightful dish, reminding me of food I have eaten in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Drinks we had were water and mango lassi. This is something different. Some not great bits, the music was loud for a Sunday and the it seemed like it’s was middle aged woman’s day as the was two groups of Middle Aged women who where very loud almost competing with each other over the music, this made the experience not great I actually made. A joke and began shouting at my wife at the table so we could hear each other we had our 3 year so was kind of funny. The glue benches we were sat on sticky not great could do with a scrub. Food was ok both went for a Sunday roast which was basically a fillet steak sliced not bad but not a cut a would expect on a Sunday roast the veg was cold and the wait for food to long considering we where the fourth table in deserts could not comment on fondant but didn’t look like was one and chocolate mousse was more like a cow pat on my plate and it was hard set, not soft or airy. But hey it’s just a piccolinos we normally go the opera house but they advised they where full and to come here as they will give you the same, I know the owner who owns both places, I think he would of got better from one of his Iceland stores. Again the waiting on staff the only good thing in that place, I think what added to the annoyance was we where waiting for food whilst watching one chef on his phone and another hiding behind the pillar eating a pizza 3 stars on food is high and that was because it was cooked. Ps no gluten free gravy I mean not great that either.

We decided to venture in and what we found was a very vibrant italian themed restaurant with luscious italian smells which has our mouths watering. The staff were all really friendly and brilliant at what they do. There was plenty of staff on too which helped keep the drinks flowing. Food is delicious and came quite quickly. The servers were amazing with restocking our cocktails, half way through our brunch we did have to wait but it got so busy it couldn't be helped. The cocktails themselves were amazing, plenty of it and dressed nicely. As it’s a set drinks menu i only really tried 3 out of the 6 cocktails as they weren't to my taste. I wasn't a fan of the passion fruit bellini. We also ordered a Shot Tree which was an extra cost but was really cute. The decor is pink and girly and the music is mostly girly songs. As part of the bottomless brunch you have a time limit of 1.45minutes there. Once this time has come to the end i thought we could have stayed but just paid for the rest of the drinks we ordered afterwards but it wasn't the case. The server was lovely i didn't catch the name, and politely said that we need to leave as our bottomless brunch had ended.

It’s spotlessly clean and has such a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve been several times now and can highly recommend the breakfast menu. Everything is delicious and very well presented and the service is great, we met the owner and he was so friendly and accommodating. All the little finishing touches I love, such as the pink mayonnaise! They even do a cocktail happy hour in the evening, from 5 pm to 8 pm, Monday to Thursday, where you can get two cocktails for, I think, £11.95. The service couldn't have been better and all the staff so friendly and lovely - I'm a professional baker so usually afternoon teas always fall down on the sweet section for me but all the bakes were amazing - that chocolate ganache meringue tart was delicious! and the unlimited hot chocs also went down great since we don't drink tea or coffee. Although the afternoon tea itself was nice, the visit was problematic from start to finish. One of our party members was disabled and the disabled access was blocked by guests cars at the hotel which we understand that the staff cannot necessarily control, however the access was also blocked by storage boxes which all had to be moved so the wheelchair could get into to the venue. It was quite an embarrassing experience and drew a lot of unwanted attention to our party. When we were finally at our table the roof was leaking onto the table and chairs, but there was no other table available to accommodate the wheelchair for us to move to. The manager kindly offered us all a free complimentary drink for the trouble, however when bill came we were charged for the drinks. We asked for this to be removed, we were then handed another bill that had charged us all for an alcoholic afternoon tea which again was incorrect. The whole experience from start to finish was not enjoyable, as I’ve mentioned above the manager did make an effort to turn things around but unfortunately there were just to many complications. Overall a disappointing visit.

I booked an Afternoon Tea to take my mum here for a nice day out, after ringing 3-4 times the previous two days I received no response and was sent to voicemail. I left an email and was finally able to book the table for 2PM on a Sunday. When we first arrived there was nobody to greet us, so I asked a barman where to go, he directed us to the restaurant. I walked in and hovered awkwardly before stopping a waitress and informing her that I'd booked a table and would like to be seated. She gestured over to a far table and me and my mum sat down, no menus, no order taken, I was left quite confused. After being left sat for 5-10 minutes I stopped a different waitress and asked her what was going on and that I'd pre-booked the service, she said she'd inform the kitchen and have our order put through - still left without even a glass of water. The lack of communication was unbelievable between the staff and it felt as though they didn't even know we existed. Eventually we had our food and drinks brought out, the sandwiches were terrible, the beef was so tough I had to use a knife and fork and the portion was tiny. Throughout the time we ate and drank we never had a single person come to check and ask whether everything was alright, no other interaction from the staff. I decided I would rather leave and asked whether I could have the scones placed into a takeaway box, rather than clearing the table and doing so, boxes were brought over and left on our table for us to pack them ourselves. The dinner took about 20 minutes to arrive,and it was a very poor standard indeed.The Yorkshire pudding was definitely NOT freshly made,it was all soggy.They brought extra gravy as they always do,but instead of being in a small gravy boat,as it usually is,it was brought out in a small bowl. The roast potatoes were also not freshly made,and I’m sure they were frozen. After our table had been cleared,a young male came 15 minutes later and asked if we would like to order a desert.I informed him we had already ordered them. 20 minutes later,a young girl came and said they could not find our order,so we gave her our choices again. It took another 15-20 minutes for them to be brought,and it was a chocolate cake with a coffee ice cream.By far the worst cake I’ve ever had,so dry & tasteless,and the ice cream was missing the coffee,it was so bland. Unfortunately,we will not be returning,as there are much better places for a proper Sunday dinner.
