Cabinetry, furniture and flooring is worn, there’s no AC, and absolutely no sound proofing. I woke up to kids stomping and screaming above all morning. When I spoke to the manager Monica on the first day she claimed the best they could do was find me another hotel. She laughed at me and said “well what do you want me to do? Construction on the room right now?” - sarcasm is not how you deal with a bad situation you’ve put your guest in. She offered no concessions & there were no other rooms, only option she gave was to inconvenience me by staying at a lower quality hotel 15min away. They told me it wasn’t possible to offer partial refunds due to booking via 3rd party, and they refused to refund the resort fee (it WAS possible to refund and they chose not to). I asked about refunding a pet fee (they did not offer this until I put it on the table), and this one they did. It was not enough to compensate. To which they told me stay somewhere else. Carmel in peak season on a weekend….not possible. Some of the worst hotel service of my life due to the rude manager. The hotel doesn’t warrant the price and needs to be put under review with new management immediately. The other staff was great by the way which is the only thing saving this from a 1 star. The manager’s rudeness and unprofessionalism is what’s driving this review the most.
