Every time I’m in town for a bit of shopping, I always pop in here first.
Absolutely love the whist pie and Eccles cake. Tasty, and the prices are really decent too. They’re generously filled and you can really taste the quality in every bite. I’m not local so I can’t say if it’s the most authentic, but there’s always a queue out the door, which says a lot!

I love Carrs pasties we were brought up eating them. They have a good range of baked goods for sale and you can also buy cakes sandwiches and frozen baked and unnamed pies and pasties to take home. My little boy dropped his ice pop on the floor when we were queuing for the butcher’s counter. I cleaned it up with blue roll and the staff were lovely.
