(원문) लक्ष्मीनारायण_मन्दिर,भोपाल, मध्य प्रदेश, भारत__!! लक्ष्मीनारायण मंदिर, (बिरला मंदिर) भोपाल भोपाल में बिरला मंदिर के नाम से विख्‍यात लक्ष्मीनारायण मंदिर मंदिर, भोपाल के मालवीय नगर क्षेत्र में, अरेरा पहाडियों के निकट बनी झील के दक्षिण में स्थित है। मंदिर के निकट ही एक संग्रहालय बना हुआ है जिसमें मध्‍यप्रदेश के रायसेन, सेहोर, मंदसौर और सहदोल आदि जगहों से लाई गईं मूर्तियां रखी गईं हैं। यहां शिव, विष्‍णु और अन्‍य अवतारों की पत्‍थर की मूर्तियां देखी जा सकती हैं। मंदिर के निकट बना संग्रहालय सोमवार के अलावा प्रतिदिन सुबह ९ बजे से शाम ५ बजे तक खुला रहता है। इतिहास इस मंदिर की इतिहास की बात की जाय तो यह मंदिर मूल रूप में १६२२ में वीर सिंह देव ने बनवाया था, उसके बाद पृथ्वी सिंह ने १७९३ में इसका जीर्णोद्धार कराया। सन १९३८ भारत के में बड़े औद्योगिक परिवार, बिड़ला समूह ने इसका विस्तार और पुनरोद्धार कराया। जानकारों के अनुसार इस मंदिर का शिलान्यास वर्ष १९६० में मध्यप्रदेश के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री डॉ॰ कैलाशनाथ काटजू ने किया था और उद्‍घाटन वर्ष १९६४ में मुख्यमंत्री द्वारका प्रसाद मिश्र के हाथों संपन्न हुआ। विवरण भोपाल के अरेरा पहाड़ी पर पाँच दशक पूर्व स्थापित बिड़ला मंदिर वर्षों से धार्मिक आस्था का केन्द्र रहा है। मंदिर में स्थापित भगवान श्रीहरि विष्णु एवं लक्ष्मीजी की मनोहारी प्रतिमाएँ बरबस ही श्रद्धालुओं को अपनी ओर आकृष्ट कर रही हैं। करीब ७-८ एकड़ पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में फैले इस मंदिर की ख्याति देश व प्रदेश के विभिन्न शहरों में फैली हुई है। मंदिर के अंदर विभिन्न पौराणिक दृश्यों की संगमरमर पर की गई नक्काशी दर्शनीय तो है ही, उन पर गीता व रामायण के उपदेश भी अंकित हैं। मंदिर के अंदर विष्णुजी व लक्ष्मीजी की प्रतिमाओं के अलावा एक ओर शिव तथा दूसरी ओर माँ जगदम्बा की प्रतिमा विराजमान हैं। मंदिर परिसर में हनुमानजी एवं शिवलिंग स्थापित हैं। वहीं मंदिर के मुख्य प्रवेश द्वार के सामने बना विशाल शंख भी दर्शनीय है। मंदिर की स्थापना के समय पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री कैलाश नाथ ने बिड़ला परिवार को शहर में उद्योग स्थापित करने के लिए जमीन देने के साथ ही यह शर्त भी रखी थी कि वह इस दुर्गम पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में एक भव्य तथा विशाल मंदिर का निर्माण करवाएँ। मंदिर के उद्‍घाटन के समय यहाँ विशाल विष्णु महायज्ञ भी आयोजित किया गया था, जिसमें अनेक विद्वानों व धर्म शास्त्रियों ने भाग लिया था। आज भी यह मंदिर जन आस्था का मुख्य केन्द्र बिन्दु है। जन्माष्टमी पर यहाँ श्रीकृष्ण जन्म का मुख्य आयोजन होता है, जिसमें बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु शामिल होकर विष्णु की आराधना करते है।
