Delicious pastries and staff! Even the chef was helping at the front! We stopped twice while in Lucca. Just a note in Italy you get your coffee and pastries first-eat them and then pay. Just remember what you had! YUMMY!

Awesome coffee and pastries. It opens really early in the morning so I was able to take breakfast just before taking the bus to the airport, which stop is nearby. I ordered two delicious cinnamon cakes.

I went here with my two adult daughters in our recent trip to Lucca. The food was delicious, the service was good and friendly, and the location was great. Afterward, we rented bikes from nearby Poli and biked around the city wall and on top of the wall...it was wonderful! I still have the wish to have another Aragostella!
The staff was really friendly and welcoming, which made for a nice experience. The chocolate braid I tried was just okay — not bad, but nothing special. Everything else in the display case looked super tempting though! Prices were about average for the area. Worth a visit if you're nearby.
I am gluten free and they had loads of pastry options available. Was so delicious and as a coeliac I didn’t feel stressed or worried eating! Prices of the pastries were good but seems to be an extra 50 cents per item if you sit in and the drinks are quite expensive so maybe more of a take away option…

Average italien bar with café, pastries, croissants, cocktails and liquor at the north eastern area of the wall. Service was quick and very friendly. Location meeehh, right in front is a big parking and always busy cars and other wheels.

The chocolate waffles here and the coffee and chocolate tarts were delicious.it is beautifully presented and there it a rustic vintage seating area at the back which is lovely however the waitress wasn't very friendly and I would recommend you know exactly what you want when ordering as she isn't overly patient as his my experience with quite a few places in lucca

Bar Martini co. B&B La gemma di Elena is a charming corner cafe in the heart of Lucca, where the beloved proprietor Giulia has been serving locals and visitors for decades. The bar offers a cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating, making it a great place to immerse yourself in the local scene. Guests praise Giulia's warm hospitality and delicious snacks, as well as the honesty and professionalism of the staff.
This is a great place to blend in with the locals. Julie is a lovely host and has treated us very well on all of our visits during our 2 weeks stay in Lucca. Do try it and just experience the Italian way if life - if it's not for you then simply move on. We will be back.

I am often having an Italian breakfast there, cappuccino, coffee and a croissant (cornetto in Italian). Cappuccino is made with fresh milk, cornettos are fresh and coffee (espresso) tastes good. A choice of three newspapers (all Italian). Service is friendly, in the Italian/European way, which may appear a bit “unfriendly” to people coming from countries outside Europe. I usually pay around 4 euros for a cappucino, coffee and a cornetto, depending on the type of cornetto I order.
We live in Lucca. We love iur local bar. Great service, friendly staff. Our must "go to" bar every week. Very comfortable and the proprietor is always very kind to us.
The staff was rude from the start for no reason, food was undercooked and made my stomach hurt, they almost gave us undercooked chicken luckily we were able to reheat it, prices compared to the portions were atrocious at best. Would not recommend.
TLDR: Horrible staff, Undercooked/horrible food and Atrocious prices.

Our holiday in Italy is slowly coming to an end and I am dreading the return to a country that does not prioritise pasta and aperol at all times. The waitress was wearing very cool jeans, cappuccino with soy milk was delicious. Minus one star for the absolutely disgusting toilets
Stopped back to this small spot named after a Puccini opera to enjoy an aperitivo e spuntino before heading out for dinner. This is a great spot off to the side of this large piazza to enjoy a view of the facade of the church and watch the steady flow of Lucchese go about their evening stroll. A spritz, a glass of local wine and some chips is about 10 euro with a 2 euro servizio because of the location and well worth it. Sit, sip, and enjoy.
If you want to sit, enjoy drinks, have decent food, and watch the world of Lucca go by. You sit here. The staff are great and the food is pretty good too, if you want some quick bites.
We visited twice in May for drinks and refreshments. Really friendly and the Caffè affogato was lovely. The rain was torrential outside but we had a great time here. Cocktails were good too.

Beautiful view, directly next to the Chiesa San Michele. Very friendly Staff, offering Service in english, too. Coffee and Dolci were very good. I recommend ordering a Caffè Shakerato and the Rice cake aswell ad the chocolate biscotti.
We went there for an afternoon break and we were not disappointed. The staff was really nice and they recommended we take a thick hot chocolate the way Italians have it, and we went for the hazelnut one which was extremely good, the best one we had actually. The cappuccino and the rice were also really good and of course the view of the cathedral made it even better. I highly recommend for a nice moment!

Bistro Piqui is a charming restaurant located in the city center of Lucca, known for its delightful "secret" garden at the back. Bistro Piqui never, ever disappoints. Friendly, warm atmosphere, delicious food, great location. This place is a hidden little gem (well, not so hidden now, lunch today was absolutely packed). My lunch today is pictured below. A wonderful welcome for my return to Lucca!

Bought 2 slices of overly toasted Buccellato here in June 2024. I watched the worker asking her boss how much to charge me in Italian, she said 3 Euros. Well, it’s obvious I’m a one-time only tourist, probably that’s why she charged that price. For all non-locals, an ENTIRE loaf of Buccellato can be bought from other shops at 5-6Euros, so unless you’re Italian, you may want to seek other cafes instead.
Popped by this quaint shop to take some fresh assorted juice. It is a blend of orange, banana, apple, and whatever fruit they’ve got on display. A little steep at €3.50, but fresh and really yummy. The establishment is clean, including the washroom.
The lower review is that although we bought 2 juices and 1L of water, we had to *beg* them for ice. They insisted that they pay for ice, and literally gave us a mere 2 ice cubes each. While I can appreciate that the bistro likely does pay for their ice, it’s pennies to the dollars on what patrons pay for drinks, and no bar or bistro should be disavowing guests from an ice cold beverage. They should reconsider their stance on this.

A nice refreshing stop in Lucca for a drink or a snack. Helpful staff but hesitating a little in English. Do try the home-made icecream snacks, multiple tastes like coconut or cherry available. Fresh fruit juice is also recommended.
Really nice restaurant within city centre of Lucca. Nice "secret" garden in the back of the restaurant. Food was simple but very good, bruschetta was really nice. Also the tarte made of spinach, ricotta and raisins was delicious! Definitely try that! Staff was so friendly and could speak French, English and Italian 😍. Really nice and helpful lady, hope she will stay 😉.

Our first tour day in Lucca, we stopped in front of the Giungi tower and my husband snagged some limoncello spritzes. He was told this is what they’re known for. For the rest of the week, we were trying to chase the same flavor from Bistro Piqui. No one in Italy can compare! We ended up coming back on our free day to find this place again. The ladies there were so kind and the limoncello spritzes are truly delicious. As my husband says, made with love.
Ok place for a quick bite. A panini with only cheese and tomato cost 6 euros. The price is a bit expensive for what they offer.

It’s such a shame, this place has decent coffee and cornetto at a reasonable price (€5 for two cornetti and one caffe). So imagine our shock when we paid €9 for three little pieces of dessert to take home (see photo), we expected them to be excellent. Unfortunately, they are not!!! The castagna was okay BUT the little chocolate cake was tasteless and hard as a rock. It was totally inedible…I never bin food but this one was impossible to eat.
They shouldn’t sell old bake goods to customers, especially when they charge so much. Beyond disappointing.
I have been going for many years to this world class pasticcerie. Sandra does the most beautiful cakes - big and small. The breakfast pastries are the best I have ever tasted. And my favorite are the savory “sandwiches”. Lots of extra treats to buy. Cappuccino is amazing. Fresh orange juice delicious. It can get very busy but who cares? Place where every local who matters goes to from all walks of life. Wonderful family with a proud Lucchese tradition and history.

Sandra's father was very forthcoming and even switched to flawless English when he realised that we didn't speak Italian. He not only patiently explained the ingredients of the delicious pastries to us but he did that with every other customer too.

Incredible spot for lunch, super affordable, quick service, and a great daily menu. We came a few times and tried the farro, couscous, nettle gnocchi, and Caesar salad. The highlight for me was definitely the nettle gnocchi, something special I haven’t seen anywhere else.
Also, they bring out a homemade black focaccia with every meal and it’s seriously delicious.
I got a coffee standing up, and the price was meant to be 1.40 Euros. When they started charging 3 Euros, I questioned it and she said that the price was old. She then accused me of sitting down and therefore charged me more. I had my coffee served at the bar. Pretty dodgy, and scammy.
From the outside it doesn't look promising, but it's a Very good restaurant!

Wow this is a real find, tucked in the shadow of the church of San Michele in Foro. Lots of locals there I would say. Staff very helpful. Got Aperol Spritz for €5 and they brought out a plate of snacks as well. Sat in this lovely square drinking aperitifs while watching some kids playing football with a beachball, like heaven on earth.
My local for a couple of months! There's lots of choice in Lucca but the staff were very friendly & the service was fantastic which kept me coming back. Quite often I'd be given a free plate of spuntini. I'll miss this place!

Good place for a quick lunch. The restaurant is situated closeby to the train station of Lucca which makes parking easy. It has got a nice terrace which provides some shade during warmer days. The menu is typically Italian, but the friendly waitor is fluent in English so he might help you out if your Italian is lacking a bit.

Place is conveniently located but you are better off going somewhere else, as they try to scam money from you.
For eg: We ordered a side salad worth 4euro but we were billed a full salad worth 8euro. We got a small salad(mostly lettuce) not at all worth the 8 euro we paid for.
Fabulous food, pizzas are amazing. Really nice hosts and staff, we were well looked after, definitely would go again when in Lucca.

This is a nice bookstore cafe close to the train station and therefore quite convenient and relaxing for that purpose. I’m glad I accidentally found this place.
Every sunday they have live music , group is good, also nice l'aperitivo , even I can not eat because I have gluten intolerant my husband enjoyed a lot 😁
Friendly staff, good coffee, and good food. Alot of students studying there which makes for a nice working atmosphere. Wifi was a little slow at times, although this is understandable due to the many people there. Plenty of charging plugs for computers, phones, and other electronics. Prices are also fair.

No seating available. Little standing room. We had coffee and cornetto to take away. And looking back, it was the best Cornetto we have had in Italy so far. The pastry and filling were just perfect and fresh. Would love to come back

This year was my first time in Italy, and I had so many wonderful experiences. One of them, however, was at this wonderful place! I lodged nearby, and from July 24th - July 31st, I went to Tiffany's for breakfast every single day, and they took such good care of me. The staff are so kind and efficient. And their pastries and hot beverages are the best in town!!! I mean, when you talk about genuinely good people, this is the first place I think of!! So if you're ever in Lucca, you would be missing a wonderful experience if you did not stop through to Pasticceria Tiffany!! Sending everyone who works there soooo much love and light and the establishment continued success!!! I'm looking forward to seeing you all again in the future!
Great place for having breakfast! My husband and I arrived from Livorno Port really early, and we had here a lot of good coffee, mozzarella with tomatoe bread and chocolate bread too for breakfast. Everything was delicious and everyone was so nice.

The food was a joke, sorry. The burger patty had such a bad aftertaste, I don’t believe it was fresh. It was all smothered in a disgusting yellow “popcorn like” tasting sauce. Bacon wasn’t cooked, it was just so bad. The “burrito” was a bean mix in tortilla, not even wrapped properly so when my husband picked it up it went all over him. I would be embarrassed to even call this a mexican food. No thank you, this was -10 out of 10 for food.

Disappointing Experience with Rude Service
I had a very disappointing experience here. The sign outside clearly advertised that an aperitivo would accompany an alcoholic drink, but when we ordered (beers and wine), we were told we needed to purchase more expensive drinks to receive the food. The staff outright said they didn’t want to give us food if they weren’t making enough profit from our order. This kind of attitude is unacceptable and felt like a bait-and-switch. The staff was rude and dismissive when we asked for clarification, and the overall vibe was terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting good service or fair treatment.
We had a fantastic bacon cheese burger there today. It was really delicious. It was certainly not lean but my wife says it's among the best she's ever had. Nice staff as well.
Nov 13, 2022 update. We went again today and were disappointed with the cheeseburger. It was somewhat overcooked and dry, and the quality of the meat was not very good or fresh...had pieces of grizzle. Also, their menu changed and we didn't see the Glam burger as an option. Won't go again. Changed rating from 5 stars from 2 previous visits to 3 stars today, and that's being generous.
Fab and open all day. Not just for burgers, it also has a little Mexican menu, and the simple but delicious Italian vegetables. When most other places in Lucca are closed this place is a real find, situated under the city walls on a nice streed, it has a decent sized seating area outside, with lovely lights and umbrellas. My bill for grilled vegetables, fried potatoes, and 2 glasses of wine, came to €23. Highly recommend.
When you love burgers and you visit Lucca. I guarantee you you get the best burger in your whole life. It is very delicious 😋. I was flashed.

Caffè Nelli is a vibrant spot that perfectly blends the charm of a café with the lively atmosphere of a cocktail bar. Located just outside the historic city walls, it’s known for its eye-catching cocktails served in oversized goblets and an inviting ambiance that attracts locals, especially twentysomethings. The outdoor seating area buzzes with energy as patrons enjoy affordable aperitivi while belting out karaoke or dancing to DJ sets on select nights.
Cocktails and long drinks are very good - maybe the best Mojito I’ve had so far. Usually pretty crowded late night, but people mind their own business and that’s very nice. You feel like home.

Picture this: you’ve been traveling with a two year old for the last 24 hours and you get into the area with no more milk, which he always drinks before bed. The problem, you arrive around 11pm so all the grocery stores are closed. Despite some fight from the toddler, he falls asleep. Until 2:30 am when he screams louder than ever before (which you didn’t know was possible) and you are scrambling to find milk SOMEWHERE. No mini marts, nothing. Suddenly you remember that places with coffee usually have milk and -tada!!- Caffé Nelli is .5 km away. You go in, they speak English! Hooray! And their answer to the key question, “do you have milk?” Becomes the highlight of your visit to Italy so far. You pay a very reasonable price and they give you the goods. Fantastic! Wonderful! I am so grateful that they are open late and had exactly what I needed!!

What a gem in the country side of Lucca, specially for vegans and vegetarians.
We ordered aperitifs with delicious smoothies of fruits or vegetables. Then came the board of finger tips. Unfortunately forgot to take pictures of it. Delicious mix of spread, pasta and focaccia. The vegan ice cream is to die for. I can’t tell enough about the friendly staff that makes you feel at home. The bar has a beautiful garden. It is just a gem.

A lovely bar/cafe/gelateria only 5 minutes east of the walls of Lucca. We had a delicious lunch of roast beef, potatoes and veggies, served alfresco in the beautiful covered patio at the back of the property. The pastries are really special as well - everything you could want including specialty cakes made to order. They also have a great selection of wines from Tuscany. They feature a big parking lot so you don't have to worry about scrambling to find parking. The service is kind and attentive, and they make the effort to make sure you are well taken care of. We will definitely be back!
We arrived very early in the afternoon and even though the kitchen was closed, they prepared some pasta and apetizers for us. Everything was delicious, especially the ice cream (try the “cremino”). Great experience!!!
Had an excellent lunch here with my husband and one year old. They kindly made a baby portion of the beef Ragu and we loved the shaded patio round the back of the restaurant. The gelato for dessert was to die for! I had chocolate and pistachio and the chocolate was so rich and decadent - the perfect hit for a chocoholic. The staff were also very helpful ordering us a taxi back to our hotel. Loved this place!
We really enjoyed our visit to Grelia. We stopped in for a late lunch, we all had pasta with bolognese sauce. (Offered to us but not on the menu). It was amazing, pasta was cooked to perfection and great flavour to the Bolognese.
We sat across from the Gelato display so we had to have some for dessert. All the choices that we had were really good.
We were served by Luca and he was amazing.
We enjoyed our meal so much that we returned the next day for some pasta with a Pomodoro sauce. Of course
we finished off with some more Gelato.
Both days meals were excellent.
