Nature & Parks
Aquarium Finisterrae, located in A Coruna, offers a modern and interactive experience with indoor and outdoor pools showcasing a variety of marine life including fish, sharks, seals, and rays. The aquarium is part of the city's more contemporary attractions along with the Domus and the Science Museum. A Coruna itself has a rich historical background dating back to Roman times when it served as an important port on navigation routes.
Nice trip around the aquarium. Interactive for children. Highlight was staff feeding the 10? seals at 12 noon. Nautilus downstairs was interesting too, a 360 degrees panorama of fish tank. We also spotted some cleaning going on, as in photo..
K D — Google review
Lovely visit to to Aquarium Finsterrae entrance was €10.30 per adult. Highlight of the Aquarium was the seals, several tanks featuring various species. Also on site is a gift shop. Staff were helpful and bi lingual so for the English among us there's no problem communicating. Location is easy to walk from Hercules Tower. Thankyou to the staff that made us feel so welcome.
Michael C — Google review
Well worth a visit Fantastic value for money. Bargain Great Aquarium, great outdoor with Seals and the fish A lot bigger than what you think Very tidy Great shop Staff fantastic We went from cruise ship , easy to walk to.
Paul C — Google review
Nice aquarium with outdoor attraction of seals (only feeding and spain talk about them). Inside there are nice aqariums and many talking about fishes and sea But in spain only - no english. Ticket was fine price (family 28€) and you can pay by card.
Radek D — Google review
Great place to visit good value for money, only downside is there isn't much English translation mostly everything is in Spanish
Sarah R — Google review
came here as a kid, around 15 years ago, and a lot has changed, some for the better, some for the worse, now they have got seals, which are super cute and seem happy enough, a lot of new exhibits and animals, but at the same time, less diversity in the big tanks, only one shark, some leaks and many computers and things you should be able to interact with that don't work or are incomplete. I still recommend the experience, especially for little kids or for people who enjoy sea life, I just hope they fix it up and add more sharks, like when I was a kid.
Daniel F — Google review
The building looks a little concrete block ISH from above dampening expectations. However once inside it clean, modern and easy to move around. First up is an exhibition of award winning nature photography. The pictures are stunning and took over half an hour to look and read about. The aquarium itself has an excellent range of informative tanks and displays from size of sand granules to ocean flows There are some exhibits we had never seen before too. Oh and they do seal feeding outside too.
Nigel D — Google review
The Aquarium Finisterrae was impressively clean and well-maintained. All the fish appeared healthy and vibrant, swimming energetically in their tanks. The informational signs were thorough and engaging, providing valuable insights about the various species on display. Although the aquarium is relatively small, it offered a rich experience, showcasing a diverse range of marine life and creating an immersive environment for visitors.

Located just a short distance from the Museo Militar, Igrexa de Santo Domingo is a beautiful church with a rich history. Originally situated outside the city walls, the church was destroyed by English forces in 1589 and later relocated to its present location in the 17th century. The oldest temple in A Coruna, it has undergone several renovations over the centuries.

(Translated by Google) Located in the square of the same name, the church is an important Baroque monument in the Old Town. Its leaning tower stands out and, inside, the Chapel of the Virgin of the Rosary (a historic-artistic monument), patron saint of the city of A Coruña. The original 13th-century convent was destroyed in the attack by Francis Drake in 1589, and the current construction dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. Although Francis Drake was defeated in his attempt to conquer the city and was unable to take the Old Town, his troops managed to plunder the lower part of the city and also destroy other convents such as those of San Francisco and San Agustín. The strong resistance of the inhabitants, led by figures such as María Pita, forced the English army to withdraw, turning the attack into a strategic failure for Drake and a victory for the city.

The Gardens of Méndez Núñez, established in 1868, feature vibrant flower beds and fountains within a landscaped park. The area boasts monuments dedicated to revered Spanish figures. The park is teeming with life; young children play while visitors stroll around admiring the old trees and stunning architecture. The Gardens regularly host events such as the Feria del Libro or Feria de Artesanos.
On a scorching afternoon all you need is a lovely garden with plenty of trees to shade under and a cold beer. Only five minutes from the port this place is ideal to relax and just chill out.Plenty of tables and chairs set out in front of the cafe,an odd shaped building with plenty of staff to help out.Go inside and order,I recommend the beer and the crisps of course but other drinks available.

Orzán Beach, also known as Playa del Orzan, is one of the main beaches in A Coruna, located on Riazor Bay. It faces out towards the ocean and is a popular spot for surfers due to its large waves and lifeguard supervision. The beach stretches along the sunny coast and is easily accessible from the city, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. In addition to sunbathing, visitors can explore tiny coves with sandy beaches nearby.
If You love City beaches then take a look at this. Surfing, Beach sports. Cycling. Pools and amazing views also by the Deportivo Football Stadium. An amazing City. Food/Drink and so friendly. Recommended.
Jose S — Google review
Ever stumble on a beach that feels like it’s got a heartbeat? Orzán in A Coruña is that place—waves crashing like they’re telling you to kick off your shoes and join the party. I spent an afternoon here, and the mix of surfers riding the swells and families building sandcastles just pulls you in. The golden sand stretches wide, and at dusk, the sky turns into a painting you can’t stop staring at. Locals whisper that Picasso used to splash around here as a kid in the 1890s, dodging waves with his pals. My tip? Grab a café con leche from a nearby chiringuito and stroll the promenade—trust me, it’s the best free show in town. Watch the tides if you swim; they can be sneaky. No tickets, just show up and let Orzán steal your heart.
Petr K — Google review
Easily accessible and popular among locals and travelers . During summer this beach sometimes have lots of tourists. The beach stretches on the sunny coast, within the boundaries of the settlement, it is not difficult to get to it. If your stay is located not far from the beach, you can reach it by walking or using public transportation. If you are traveling by car just use your navigator plus the area is sorrounded by hostels to stay... The water is very clear blueish and mostly cold or medium in temp.. it is also famous for surfing... You can also do overnight relaxation because it is sorrounded by lights so it is SAFE...

Excellent beach! It truly does have sparkling sand! The waves offer you a lot of fun, with a surf board or without Very safe, the crowd is local and very good The beach is clean and well kept There is a chemical toilet on the beach, and showers to rinse off the sand. It is a stones throw from the city centre

This is a relatively simple church, refreshingly so after seeing many Baroque churches. Love the scale of it, the Romanesque arches and especially the Virgin, Child, and saints around the portico. They have smiles!!!! Pretty unusual. In fact, one Saint (?) to Mary’s right, is leaning on the arm of her chair, feet crossed casually. Don’t see that everyday. They have a Gregorian chant tape playing inside which adds to the ambiance. Definitely worth a visit!

Great stadium to watch a match in the middle of a beautiful city! Any seat is good and there are plenty of stands and bathrooms so you don't have to walk too far away from your seat. Totally recommend although the home team is currently in 3rd division (as of 2023),they have quite a history and we're even Liga Champions twenty years ago! It's livy to watch a match and watch seagulls fly by! Tip: bring something to cover your seat as they are often wet and/or a bit dirty.

What a night! The stadium was easy to get in and out off. The game of rink hockey was amazing and Liceo won which made for an amazing atmosphere. The acoustics in the arena meant that 4,000 people sounded like 90,000 people. Safe to say I am hooked on rink hockey and will be looking for a local team to cheer on back in England.

Bit choice of tapas, good menu and reasonable prices, we took a lot including a bottle of albarino wine and it was €75 for three people. Everything was really good and tasty. Lively atmosphere, many locals are eating there. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic spot if you want to eat some raciones and tapas of Spanish / Galician food. We had navajas, calamares fritos, pulpo, raxo, pimientos de Padrón, croquetas de cecina, y tortilla. Everything was tasty. Many wine options. Relatively good prices. And good service. Always crowded, which makes a a good sign… you might need to be a bit patient when there are lots of people since it might be slower than usual 😊

Our favorite place in A Coruña! We were in town for two days and visited this bar I swear four times. If you want an authentic Spanish lunch / Dining experience go here. Frequented primarily by locals and serves local classics well. There is bar stool service and a range of tables in the lower section, the upper seating area has a more formal feel for those seeking a longer more formal dining experience. Church of St. George is a beautiful place of worship dating back to 1766, making it an amazing must-see for tourists. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere, perfect for contemplation and relaxation. The church boasts a magnificent choir, adding to its charm and making it a nice and wonderful place to visit. It's definitely worth a visit while exploring A Coruna, offering a lovely experience that couldn't be more wonderful on a sunny day.
What a magnificent building, a true house of God! We passed by and there just happened to be a mass / service half way through. It was such a great blessing, and we experienced the incredible atmosphere, during the service of a most moving tangible loving spiritual presence. Really really something special to behold. The internal and external structure is very detailed and beautiful, as well as many icons of the saints and of Jesus, as you can see from the photos. If I am not mistaken, above the entrance it says in Spanish, “House of God and door to the city.” I cannot imagine the history this church has seen and lived through. The fact that is still an active place of worship today stands as testimony to the people of this city and the impact Christianity and the love of Jesus that has blessed these people. Again it was our great pleasure and we were honoured and privileged to have stumbled into the service. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the …. Tourists who also stumbled into the church shortly after us, perhaps without realising a Devine service was in progress, they were quite loud, walking around taking photos… perhaps they have never known or experienced the sanctity of the precedence of God, one day I pray they will learn…! In any case, we strongly recommend you visit this House of God if ever you can. You will not regret it.

For me, of the baos that I have tried all of them, the eggplant one is very tasteless and I would not order it again, the rest are fine. The takoyaki for me is a dish that is not worth ordering, they taste good but you don't notice the octopus at all and in relation to quantity/quality/price, for me it is a no. The Pad Thai is super delicious and the portion is generous. In general, good, correct. (Original) He pedido en Just Eat dos veces. La calidad de la comida es buena y las raciones también. (Translated by Google) As a tourist spot a 10 The Church is beautiful, and the sacristan and the priest are extremely rude, racist and sexist. I usually attend every Tuesday (I pray the rosary in the Holy Sacrament), on Thursdays I pray the rosary alone, I accompany the rosary that is prayed there and the mass. One day I asked the sacristan who was outside smoking for information to know the date of a certain mass, he asked me if I didn't know how to read (the date I was asking him about was not listed in the announcements)... Today, like every Thursday, I went to pray the rosary. When the Pope's results came out, I continued my prayers with more joy, faith and hope. When the girl began the rosary with the few people who frequent the church, I sat down and continued the prayer with her. The priest comes out from inside the chapel making signs (I didn't imagine that he was talking to me) when he approached me and said: "uncross your legs, the saint is there, you have no respect"... the few people who were there all looked at me, I picked up my things and left, on the way out he grabbed my arm and told me: "I didn't tell you to leave, I said be good." I answered: “I have been in the church all my life, I know perfectly well how I should behave” and I left. Ps: I was wearing a dress that reached my ankle, sneakers and a long coat. It is very difficult to continue in the faith when it should unite people and exclude us. It's a shame to experience this on such an important day for the Catholic Church. I think this man didn't learn anything from Pope Francis.

The church was burned down by the English in 1589 and rebuilt in the 18th century, while the facade was completed in 1865. The church has a single nave structure with a Latin cross floor plan. Catholic church
The Catholic Church, known as Iglesia Castrense de San Andrés, is described as beautiful and welcoming. The Father Military is noted for being friendly, helpful, and always in a positive mood. Visitors can expect assistance during opening hours, and the church provides heating during winter. The highlight of the church is its 1875 organ, although it may not be in perfect condition. Despite this drawback, the church remains a valuable gem that deserves proper maintenance.

Catholic church
Santo Francisco Xabier is a unique church with a cozy and pleasant interior, despite its unassuming exterior. The design is unconventional, combining rustic stone and metal in a modernist style. While the main entrance may obstruct views of the Civic Center building, the church offers warm hospitality and attentive service from Caritas. The simple yet meaningful religious services are complemented by a welcoming atmosphere, making it a recommended place to visit for those seeking an authentic spiritual experience.
