Nestled in the heart of Bali, the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a captivating Hindu temple complex surrounded by lush jungle. This enchanting destination is famous for its playful long-tailed macaques, who roam freely among ancient temples adorned with intricate carvings. Visitors can immerse themselves in both nature and spirituality as they explore this community-led sanctuary, which serves as a hub for scientific research and cultural preservation.
The Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud was one of the highlights of my trip to Bali. The moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve entered a magical jungle—huge banyan trees, moss-covered statues, and peaceful temple ruins all hidden within the forest. It’s not just a tourist attraction, it really feels like a sacred place. Of course, the monkeys are the stars here. They’re playful, cheeky, and endlessly entertaining to watch. I loved seeing them jump from tree to tree, care for their babies, and interact naturally with each other. It felt like being a guest in their world rather than just looking at animals behind cages. What impressed me most is how well the sanctuary is maintained. The paths are clean and easy to walk, the temples are stunning, and there are staff around to make sure both visitors and monkeys stay safe. I also appreciated the clear rules—they remind you to respect the animals and enjoy observing them without disturbing their natural behavior or even to feed them. I’d recommend going in the morning when it’s cooler and less crowded. Bring your camera (you’ll want a hundred photos!), but keep your belongings secure because the monkeys are curious and love to “borrow” things.
Souad Y — Google review
This was my 4th time visiting the monkey forest and I loved it. Despite what you hear about monkey aggression, you just have to follow the rules and signs. I did make eye contact with a monkey by accident and it grabbed me which I found quite funny to be honest. It didn’t hurt me, and it was my mistake lol. To add to that, I have never been attacked or seen anyone badly injured here. Honestly, it was heartwarming to see the local Balinese bonding and feeding the monkeys, you can tell they are trained and know what they are doing. I really enjoy the fact that these monkeys are able to free roam. It may be scary for humans, but it is great that they are not chained or caged. It is so nice to see the Balinese genuinely care for these gorgeous animals. At the end of the day, you are in the monkeys home. Treat them with respect and they shall leave you be. It’s a really beautiful and breezy area. The natural landscape of this place is breathtaking.
Erin M — Google review
A nice casual walk in the park. There are a lot of monkeys but they are not aggressive. There are conservation staff around to park to ensure that the interactions between the guests and monkeys are safe and ethical. The monkeys are not particularly afraid of humans and may climb onto a person, although no feeding is allowed. Most part of the park is shaded and in forest area. Bring bug spray. There’s a nice and easy walking trail through the forest and lots of relics to look at.
Lydia M — Google review
If you're a fan of monkeys and Balinese sculpture, you will love this lush green forest. It is a well-designed sanctuary with a good pathway system that makes for an easy walk. The monkeys are everywhere and very entertaining to see. It was a great spot to spend an hour or so.
Radley C — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful, magical, and full of wanderlust energy! Monkeys are everywhere swinging from trees, lounging on railings, and living their best lives. The forest itself feels like stepping into another world, surrounded by lush greenery and ancient temples covered in moss. It’s incredible to watch these monkeys up close (just hold onto your belongings!). I had such a fun and unforgettable experience here. The monkeys truly seem to be living great lives in their sacred jungle home.
Rachel F — Google review
Our visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud was one of the most unforgettable highlights of our trip to Bali as a couple. From the moment we entered the lush, green sanctuary, we were transported into a magical world where nature, culture, and wildlife coexist in the most serene and fascinating way. The towering ancient trees and moss-covered statues created an almost otherworldly atmosphere—perfect for strolling hand in hand and taking in the beauty and spirituality of the space. The Balinese architecture and sacred temples scattered throughout the forest added a deep cultural richness to the experience. The monkeys themselves were a joy to watch—cheeky, clever, and completely in their element. We followed the guidelines and kept a respectful distance, which allowed us to enjoy their antics without feeling uneasy. Watching them play, groom, and leap through the trees was pure entertainment, and seeing the babies clinging to their mothers was heart-melting. What made it extra special as a couple was how peaceful and bonding the experience felt. It wasn’t just a tourist attraction—it was a walk through living, breathing spirituality and nature. We took time to sit on a bench together, surrounded by ancient trees and the sound of the forest, just soaking it all in. Truly a memory we’ll always share. Highly recommend visiting early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the quiet majesty of the place. Whether you’re seeking connection, culture, or just a bit of cheeky monkey fun, this sanctuary is a must-visit. A perfect stop for couples exploring the heart of Ubud.
Scott S — Google review
Amazing! The monkeys were very chill during our visit. I had heard stories about them stealing belongings, but we didn’t see any of that. The place felt peaceful, entertaining, and truly magical.
Maritza B — Google review
I absolutely love the Sacred Monkey Forest. It is one of my favorite places to visit in Ubud. There are a few monkeys that can be a bit territorial, but the majority of them are extremely comfortable with all the people and just want to play or chill out. You can buy tickets in advance, but you don’t need to. There are plenty of kiosks or if you prefer to purchase them from a person, I’ve never seen much of a line.

Scenic Walking Areas
The Campuhan Ridge Walk is a delightful escape into nature, perfect for those looking to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life. This scenic trail offers a gentle hike with breathtaking views of lush hills and valleys, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls or cycling. Starting at the historic confluence of the Wos River, this trek allows you to immerse yourself in Ubud's natural beauty while breathing in the fresh air.
We went on this walk at 6.30am to avoid the heat and crowds. It was overcast and cooler than normal. Depending on on fitness level this is a easy walk. However, be aware that there are steps and incline sections which could challenge some people. Great views and a village at the end where you could catch a taxi, if you didn’t want to turn around and walk back. We also stopp d at a lovely resort at the end of the walk for breakfast.
Anna S — Google review
A serene, peaceful escape, with a river flowing on one side and lush forest on the other. It's an ideal spot for a tranquil sunrise walk. Has a temple at the start and end of trail. The path leads to an art village, where you can unwind at charming cafés afterward. A perfect blend of nature and culture, perfect for relaxation.
Anusha D — Google review
A lovely walk. Best done early or late in the day this is casual stroll from Ubud. The path is easy to follow but not really suitable for disabled access as there's stairs along the way. The surrounding vegetation is a little overgrown with weeds in sections but the walk is well worth allowing a couple of hours when in the area.
Ian W — Google review
Nice place to walk not far from the city. You have a good walking trail, but most of it expose to the sun. You can't go of the walking way to gind you a nice quit place in the wood. On start from south you can reach the river. On the north point you have some galeres and coffee shoe. If you need to get by walk to your entry point, start from south because there is a hilll to go, and it will be nicer to go down after you finish you walking.
Bar S — Google review
Beautiful walk. Lots of up and down and stairs. If someone has trouble walking won't be too good for them. It is very hot as well. This Campuhan Ridge Walk can be a leisurely hike and takes around 30 to 45 minutes each way. Ofcourse depending on your pace and how often you stop for photos. I didn't go too far as it was very hot and humid but the entire round trip can be completed in about 1.5 hours. I also recommend wearing comfortable sneakers or walking shoes because the path is uneven in some places. If you plan to explore the nearby villages or stop at one of the cafés along the way, you might want to allow a bit more time. I stopped at a beautiful temple to visit just before starting the trail, so I would probably dedicate half a day to this visit. Lush greenery everywhere. It's free to enter the place.
Globetrekker S — Google review
It's a round-trip hike. We only walked the one-way route, entering from the north and exiting. Most people enter through the entrance and then turn back facing north. If you come from the entrance, you'll have to climb uphill like a mountain hike, but if you start from the north, it's mostly downhill. The walk from the north only took about 30 minutes. It's quite short, but the atmosphere is great.
김지수 — Google review
Spewing I didn’t get up earlier to enjoy the sunrise colours. I began the walk around 6am… the path is clean with few people around so it’s quite peaceful. Views from the ridge are lovely and friendly faces along the path made it a warm morning. I stopped at Karsa Spa for my booked massages and was very impressed. Am going to try lunch next door now
Sarah R — Google review
The pavement/walkway was so clean and serene. Come early to avoid the heat. I didn't go all the way to the other side but you can enjoy the calm village view and had smoothie, fruits or coffee on your way.

Visitor Centers
Ubud Palace, located on the famous Monkey Forest Road, is a must-visit destination in Bali. The palace features traditional Balinese architecture and hosts enchanting dance performances in its courtyard. Surrounded by lush greenery, it offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Bali. With its vibrant atmosphere and captivating performances, Ubud Palace provides an immersive experience for visitors looking to soak up Balinese culture.
We paid about $6.00 to get in, and overall, this was a pretty cool first stop to experience some Balinese history and temple architecture. The palace grounds give you a quick glimpse into traditional Balinese culture, but it’s definitely more of a short visit — About 15 minutes is enough to see most of it. The location is convenient, right across from the Ubud Marketplace and Starbucks, so it’s easy to pair the two experiences together and get some shopping done. The palace itself has beautiful details and feels like a calm pocket of history in the middle of Ubud’s busy center. That said, there are a lot of people visiting, so if you want to take photos, be prepared to wait 15 minutes or more just for a clear shot. Outside, you’ll also find plenty of taxi drivers asking if you need a ride, which can be a little overwhelming. The biggest downside is that there aren’t any public restrooms on-site, since the palace is still someone’s private home — So plan ahead before visiting. For the price, it’s still worth checking out, especially if you’re already exploring central Ubud, but it’s definitely more of a quick stop than an in-depth experience. Pro Tips - Go early in the morning to avoid heavy crowds and get better photo opportunities. - Be prepared for lots of taxi drivers outside offering rides—politely decline if you’re not interested. - No public restrooms are available since it’s still a private residence, so plan bathroom breaks before or after. - Pair your visit with Ubud Market right across the street for a fuller experience.
Lily S — Google review
If you’re already in Ubud, the palace is worth a quick stop, but honestly, there isn’t much to see inside. From a religious and cultural aspect it holds value for the Balinese people, but for tourists it can feel underwhelming—just a few closed doors and crowded pathways in the middle of Ubud’s busy center. You can walk through the grounds in about 3–5 minutes, and the admission during the day is free, which is a plus. The gardens are well maintained, the carvings are beautiful, and the atmosphere carries historic charm. It’s also right in the city center, so convenient if you’re already out shopping or exploring nearby attractions. That said, the real highlight here is in the evening. The palace transforms into a venue for nightly traditional Balinese dance performances such as Legong and Barong. The show costs 100,000 IDR per person (cash only) and is absolutely worth it. The music of the gamelan orchestra, the elaborate costumes, and the graceful movements of the dancers create an enchanting cultural experience. Arrive early—people gather as early as 6:30 pm for good seats, with the performance starting at 7:30. Sitting closer to the front gives the best view, but if you prefer comfort, choose a chair instead of the carpet. Be careful of monkeys in the area—they can be aggressive and snatch belongings if you’re not cautious. Also note, the daytime visit alone isn’t particularly memorable, but the evening performance is where Ubud Palace truly shines. Overall, it’s a well-maintained landmark with historical and cultural importance, but the dance show is the part that makes it worth recommending.
Shivangi G — Google review
This was our first stop on our Bali trip. We visited the palace and purchased tickets for the Legong of Mahabharata Epic dance show. The palace itself isn’t very big—the part open to visitors is quite small—but it does offer some beautiful photo opportunities and gives you those old Balinese vibes. We came back later in the evening for the show. Outside, you’ll find old ladies selling beers, chips, rain covers, and more. Prices are quoted high, so a little negotiation helps. The show was fantastic. They provide a pamphlet explaining the different dance performances, which is worth reading to better understand what’s happening on stage. The dancers, musicians, and overall performance were excellent. While the show runs for about 1–1.5 hours and might feel a bit long for some, I personally found it really engaging. All in all, Ubud Palace is a must-stop when in Ubud!
Arushi C — Google review
We visited Ubud Palace, Bali in November 2024 and loved the experience. The traditional Balinese architectures are stunning, and there are great photo spots throughout. Outside, you’ll find small shops selling local crafts and souvenirs. We were lucky to catch a Balinese festival at that time - with music, offerings, and traditional dress, which made the visit even more special. A beautiful place to explore Balinese culture and heritage. Can add it to your itinerary if you are visiting Ubud.
Sreejith S — Google review
Very vibrant modern surroundings with ancient energy inside. Place is very small but is full with Dharmic signs and energy. Many statues were covered so it was bit disappointing , it would have been great if all statues were shown to visitors. But full marks to people of Bali for only preserving their Hindu heritage but also living it. Bali has so many things to cover, so it’s not possible in 5 days cover to even cover 25% of places.
Ashok S — Google review
Ubud Palace, also known as Puri Saren Agung, is one of the most beautiful and historically rich landmarks in the heart of Ubud. My visit here was truly enchanting — the palace beautifully showcases traditional Balinese architecture with its intricate carvings, golden details, and serene courtyards filled with tropical plants. It’s a perfect place to feel the essence of Balinese culture and royalty. The palace is not very large, but every corner tells a story of heritage and spirituality. The preserved buildings and stone sculptures reflect the traditional craftsmanship of Bali’s golden age. It’s located right in the center of Ubud, close to the art market, making it convenient to explore both in a single visit. I also enjoyed the evening traditional dance performance held in the palace courtyard — it was mesmerizing, with graceful dancers, colorful costumes, and live gamelan music creating an unforgettable experience. Entry to the palace during the day is free, and it’s well maintained with friendly staff who are happy to share information about its history. Visiting at sunset adds a magical glow to the atmosphere. Overall, Ubud Palace is a must-visit cultural gem in Bali — a place that connects you deeply to the island’s artistic soul and royal heritage.
Dikendra G — Google review
We couodnt make in time to see the palace as it closes by 5.30 or 6 but we bought tickets to watch the dance performance at the palace. The dance performance started at 7 and was great. I think they could make it shorter and less costlier than more people will visit and stay throughout the performance.
Prachi C — Google review
Nice place, but crowded. We went there for Legong dance show. It was the first time seeing such a balinese dance, was interesting but since we had to sit on the floor for a good spot it was a bit exhausting to watch it an hour long. We were there half an hour before the show. So if you want to have good seats you should probably be there way earlier

Flea & Street Markets
The Ubud Art Market is a bustling hub of Balinese craftsmanship, offering a diverse array of unique items such as handicrafts, batik, accessories, and clothing. Visitors can explore the market's offerings and haggle with vendors for one-of-a-kind souvenirs. It's recommended to compare prices across different stalls, negotiate with sellers, and inquire about the authenticity of goods.
I really enjoyed visiting Ubud Art Market. It's full of colours and I loved walking around and exploring the different stalls, each selling unique handmade decor, bags, coasters, jewellery and souvenirs. Most of the vendors are warm and welcoming. Bargaining made my shopping experience even more exciting! Carry cash!
Neetha A — Google review
Yes, it is geared for tourists and yes, you must haggle but some people like that. We arrived at 11:15 and it was starting to get busy. When we left and hour later it was hopping with people. We started in the building and then to the street market next door. Same stuff, smaller aisles. Ask how much, they name a price, you counter with half, and then the bargaining starts. It's fun and the shop keepers were not pushy at all. Hubby got a t-shirt for 130k and was happy. Warning! Lots of wooden penis on sale. Prep your kids! Across the street from the old Royal Palace.
Robin M — Google review
Most of the prices are 3x the selling price we see at stores in Sanur Harbor. Even if you haggle, you will just be able to haggle it to the original selling price. So don’t buy unless you don’t have time to look elsewhere or want a challenge to haggle until you deem the price is worth the item. We were able to buy some items that I didn’t see in other places like the patched up pants.
Corinne — Google review
A vibrant place full of handicrafts, souvenirs, and Balinese art. Prices can be quite expensive, so make sure you have good bargaining skills. Parking is a bit difficult, but aside from that, it’s a great spot to explore and experience the local atmosphere.
Romie M — Google review
A large market with many similar stalls—it can feel a bit repetitive, as most shops sell the same items. Prices are inflated for tourists, so bargaining is expected, and you can often bring the price down by half or more, which makes it hard to know the real value. While the setting is lively and picturesque, giving you a nice spot to wander if you’re already in the area, it feels more tourist-oriented than authentic. We noticed the same goods being sold in many other parts of Bali, so don’t expect unique local craftsmanship here. Do check out the second floor if you visit, but overall, I wouldn’t return as it lacked originality.
Shivangi G — Google review
Ubud Art Market is a vibrant and colorful place that truly reflects the artistic soul of Bali. Located right in the heart of Ubud, this market is packed with beautiful handmade items — from wooden carvings and rattan bags to batik clothes, paintings, and jewelry. Every corner is filled with creativity and craftsmanship, making it a must-visit for anyone who loves local art and culture. One of the best parts of shopping here is the bargaining experience. The initial price that vendors quote is usually much higher than the actual selling value, so don’t hesitate to negotiate — it’s part of the fun! In many cases, you can get items for half or even one-third of the first price if you bargain politely and with a smile. For example, if something starts at 300,000 IDR, you can often get it for around 100,000 IDR or even less. It’s a great feeling when you walk away with a good deal while supporting local artisans. Just take your time, explore the different stalls, and enjoy the friendly conversations with the sellers. Overall, Ubud Art Market is not just a shopping stop — it’s a cultural experience where your bargaining skills can truly shine!
Dikendra G — Google review
Pretty big market full of souvenirs and clothes. Everyone is happy to bargain, basically the price they tell you at first is always highly overpriced. If the say something cost 300k you can buy it at 150k easily or start bargaining and get it down to 50-100k rupees. Never ever accept initial pricing. We bought a bunch of souvenirs and clothes here. Pricing for the magnets is about +-20k, most of the clothes (tshirts, shorts, etc) you can get at 50-100k.
Ilya L — Google review
An extremely lively market with indoor, outdoor and most adjacent lanes packed with Balinese handicrafts. Hard Bargains are a must since the initial price quoted will always be 2-2.5x higher on most products. Some sellers are quite persistent and will go the whole nine yards to make the sale happen. Many others, won't even bother to negotiate and wave you away. A comparatively higher priced market than other neighborhoods within Bali. Coffee shops are dime a dozen along with money changers here.

Nestled in the heart of Ubud, Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati, also known as the Ubud Water Palace, is a breathtaking Hindu temple that pays homage to the goddess Saraswati. As you stroll along a picturesque pathway over serene lotus ponds, you'll be captivated by its intricate stone architecture and lush surroundings. This tranquil oasis offers an escape from the busy world outside, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its beauty and spirituality.
Very nice. They have the traditional garb for you to wear, but it was damp from previous wearers not understanding the use of umbrellas… The temple itself is pretty and a nice 10 min stroll around. Some cool sculptures and it must be great to watch the traditional dancing they do here!! Can have a drink or food at lotus cafe with good view of temple and fountains as well.
Shane K — Google review
Beautiful temple costing 60k per person. You dress up in traditional clothes so everyone is wearing purple which just makes the place even more stunning. The water features are gorgeous too. The only downside is that it is quite small so you do have to wait a little while sometimes to have your photo taken.
Coralie P — Google review
It was ok, but be aware that visitors are not allowed inside the temple at all, so all you get to see for the entrance fee is the gardens and ponds at the front. They're pretty, for sure, but it's not quite what we were expecting. I understand it's culturally important and they don't want to be overrun with tourists, but it's disappointing to get there and find out you can't actually see the best bits. The front also houses a Starbucks (!!!) and big restaurant, so it's not exactly capturing the authentic temple feel.
Chris C — Google review
A very beautiful landmark in the heart of central Ubud. Very close to the Ubud Palace and is a must visit place. There is of course entrance fees to be paid. All visitors are provided traditional attire and it looks really nice. There are cultural performances every evening. A lot of restaurants and cafes are there within the compound and nearby.
Birat B — Google review
Disappointing After seeing this online, I was very keen to visit. However, after I was left disappointed. It appears they have made some renovations/changes this year and not for the most positive. The stepping stones have been added to the lily pad ponds but I’m not sure if that’s to the detriment of the lily pads…. Didn’t look as healthy as previous photos. The main area of the temple is no longer public accessible so you’re really just seeing the front garden. Which you could just look at from the road without paying the entrance fee. The traditional Balinese dress is required to be worn, but is just passed onto the next person and on a hot day is very sweaty and grubby. Also just comes in one size. So if you are a bit taller or wider it doesn’t fit correctly and just probs make a bit of a mockery of it all rather than being culturally sensitive

If you buy tickets online they will be cheaper than at the entrance. Dress in traditional clothes. Honestly, I think you need to come here early in the morning, as we were there at 12 noon and there were a lot of people, it was hard to take photos. The temple itself, the architecture and the decor are very cool.

Fun little stop on our journey. We took some pictures in the thrones and enjoyed a Starbucks drink before we entered. Nice that they provided the traditional dress for us and a free juice on the way out.

Hindu temple
Ubud Water Palace, also known as Pura Taman Saraswati, is a former palace in Ubud that features a lotus pond and water garden. The outer area of the temple is marked by these beautiful features, with plumeria trees adorning the edges of the pond and paras sculptures of Hindu mythological figures decorating the bridge-like access. The palace showcases typical Balinese temple architecture with red brick, white stone, and intricately carved wood.
This place was great fun. Very beautiful and you get to dress in local garments (mandatory for the purpose of respectfully cover up bare skin). This gave a very authentic vibe. Also, they play local music in concert at designated times which was a nice addon. I would consider this mandatory during your stay in Ubud!

the temple is a must see when you are in the center of Ubud. you get traditional clothing at the entrance so don’t bother bringing a own sarong or similar. the ticket costs 65k per person which is a fair price considering the temple is rather small. something to note is that the temple gives the vibe of a tourist attraction rather than a spiritual place.

An Accidental Discovery: The Ubud Water Temple Show ✨ 5/5 Stars: Unforgettable Night, Great Value! 🤩 We initially planned to visit the Ubud Palace (Puri Saren Agung) but were completely defeated by the massive traffic 🚗💨 and the impossible task of finding car parking nearby. By sheer mistake, we stumbled into the area around the Water Temple (Pura Taman Saraswati) and, thankfully, found a solution. 🙏 Pro Tip for Parking: If you are attending the evening show, I highly recommend parking at the museum just a short walk away. 🏛️ For only 10,000 IDR, they allowed us to park until 10 PM, which perfectly covered the duration of the show and dinner. This accidental detour turned into the highlight of our night! 🌟 The show: The entrance fee for the show itself, at 100,000 IRD, felt entirely justified and worth every single rupiah. The setting alone—the temple lit up at night with the lotus pond surrounding the stage—is breathtaking. 🌸 mesmerizing! The show was lovely, and the dancers were graceful and good. (Despite being at 7.15pm when the shows starts at7.30 we found seat in the third line, the earlier you get the better!) Of course, there is an old saying that applies to any cultural experience: “Perception is the reality.” 🤔 The quality of the evening largely depends on the viewer's preparation and personal outlook. My only significant critique—and one I saw echoed in many online reviews—is the lack of readily available, real-time translations or subtitles. 🗣️❌ In this age of accessible technology, providing a screen with English (or other major language) subtitles underneath the stage is a low-investment feature that would dramatically enhance the experience and attract more visitors. It’s so easy to do now! I, too, missed having that context. 😔 Despite the language barrier, I truly enjoyed the performance. I made sure to quickly Google the story beforehand—in my case, the traditional Balinese tale of Barong and Rangda, which represents the eternal duality between good and evil (Dharma and Adharma). 👹👼 I highly recommend doing this for any Balinese dance show to appreciate the narrative. A huge advantage the Water Temple has over the Ubud Palace show is the location's synergy with the adjacent restaurant. 🍸 Once theshow concludes, you still have the option to enjoy a cocktail or a late dinner at the adjoining restaurant, continuing to admire the lovely temple architecture, illuminated beautifully under the night sky. 🌃 It turned a cultural event into a Lovely evening experience. ✨
Andrea O — Google review
There was a line onto the sidewalk when I visited during the day. Took about 10 minutes to get to the counter. The ticket price includes the purple rental garments, which are mandatory and NOT washed between uses. Pretty gross on a hot, humid day. You can only access the little front area, not the temple area itself. So, everyone is crammed into a fairly small space because there is a pond on either side of the walkway. Too many self-obsessed tourists trying to make videos on the stepping stones, sitting on the throne seats or tapping the bamboo. Whatever whimsy the place might hold, is totally eradicated by the overcrowding tourist flocks. Would definitely be nicer to visit first thing in the morning without crowds and hopefully cleaner garments...

A pretty place to visit when you're visiting Ubud market. It's dedicated to Hindu Goddess Saraswati. Set among a lotus pond, it has an entrance fee of 60k IDR (as in October 2025) for the visit and you must wear their traditional costume to enter, which doesn't require an extra fee.
Moumita D — Google review
This is a lovely place to visit in Ubud. However it is a very small palace and can take 5-10 minutes to walk around, honestly it felt more like an Instagram spot than a cultural experience. Though it still was beautiful. Entry cost - 60,000 and the gown was free

A beautiful and peaceful place in the heart of Ubud! 🌺 The architecture is stunning, the lotus pond is magical, and the atmosphere feels so calm and spiritual. Perfect spot for photos and a quick escape from the busy streets! 💫

Entrance fee : 60000 Salon costume in hot weather almost kills me. Everything is very designed for entertain people, made me feel like Disney land Indiana Jones area. It is calculated well, so after dried up in here we stopped by the cafe next to the cafe right next to the temple. There is nothing very holy atmosphere, just one artificial entertaining place, that's all. All places in here are good for taking pictures but somehow nothing touched me. The cafe next door is ripping off. We had drink and desert but desert picture was so much more than the real desert. And fried banana was cold and very bad taste.

Place of worship
Puri Saren Agung Ubud, also known as Puri Saren Ubud, is a complex designed in traditional Balinese style featuring intricate carvings, statues, and lush gardens. Originally a holiday residence for local aristocracy and artists in the 1800s, it played a significant role in the early days of tourism in Bali. The complex is home to the Barong Dance performance, which depicts the eternal battle between good and evil through elaborate costumes and expressive movements.
Pro tip come around 7 to take good spots when dancing starts. Or wait till mid way of performance as some of people start leaving. I liked the costumes, make up and choreography although it is somewhat repetitive and show is around 2 hours so kinda get bored closer to the end. Nevertheless highly recommend.

Embark on a serene adventure at Kajeng Rice Field, where the lush greenery and tranquil atmosphere provide a perfect escape from Ubud's bustling city life. This picturesque walking path meanders through working rice paddies, originally designed for farmers but now enjoyed by travelers seeking peace and natural beauty. The loop walk is easily accessible, branching off from the main street of Ubud and offering stunning views of both Kajeng Rice Fields and Subak Kuwuk Manis Rice Fields.
Beautiful rice field near Ubud but off the beaten path a bit. It's much more peaceful than many other attractions in the main area of Ubud. The lush green is worth seeing and there are many little paths you can walk through. A nice find near Ubud center!
Nikola L — Google review
It’s a beautiful trail through rice fields on both sides. It can be thought of as a continuation of the sweet orange trial, but the scenery is not as good in my opinion. The road changes from stone to mud as you progress through the trail and it gets quite narrow with a big fall to the side so being careful is important.
Ammar A — Google review
A beautiful place with a unique atmosphere. A touch of Bali 💚 Walking along this path lifts your spirits, calms you, and makes you reflect… will I come back? From time to time, you can spot farmers working in the fields or planting and harvesting rice, which further enhances the atmosphere of this place. It's worth a visit.
Opinion M — Google review
Much better than the Tegagalang rice fields. Less visitors at the fields create a more authentic and calm atmosphere. The way to that beautiful attraction is a bit busy, because there are a lot of tourist shops where you can buy all the things nobody really needs. Anyway it is absolutely worth it to go there.

Vey calming experience to walk around the rice fields. Kids got to know how rice fields look like and greenery around was adding to overall experience. Local people were also very charming and welcoming. Kids and women can also walk till sunset without any fear. Light rain showers made the outing even more enjoyable. Full marks to local farmers to accepting visitors with open arms and making place accessible. Way to Bali.

In Ubud, art enthusiasts should make sure to visit Threads of Life, an artisan gallery that focuses on preserving traditional Indonesian textiles and weaving techniques. This unique store showcases handmade pieces crafted by local artists using centuries-old methods, offering visitors the chance to purchase one-of-a-kind souvenirs while supporting indigenous communities and their vanishing crafts.
This is like a mini museum of textiles. High quality woven textile from across Indonesian on display as well as some accessories and baskets. Price point is higher and is a reflection of the quality. There are also workshops available for those who are interested. Staff are friendly and welcomed us to look around. They were also not pushy at all to sell.
Noelle N — Google review
Ubud is home to many beautiful boutiques, but Threads of Life stands out as more than just a standard gallery. They go above and beyond to promote and support traditional Indonesian textiles and natural dye production—an important and often underserved area. As a big fan of their work, I can personally attest to the craftsmanship and authenticity of the pieces offered at Threads of Life. It's worth noting that each purchase is truly one-of-a-kind, resulting from years of relationship-building with indigenous communities across Indonesia. This approach has provided stable income for these artisans, allowing them to continue weaving and pass their wisdom to future generations. Even better, Threads of Life offers wonderful hands-on classes at their Dye Studio in Petulu. Set amidst nature, their open studio and half-day batik classes are my personal favorites! I'd like to extend a big thank you to Ibu Tutut and Meri for their incredible service. They took the time to explain each beautiful textile and patiently answered all of my questions. If you're interested in Indonesian textiles and supporting sustainable craftsmanship, Threads of Life is definitely worth a visit during your time in Ubud!

Beautiful little shop in the middle of the market lined streets. It is not your average souvenir shop, the Threads of Life initiative raises awareness and provides an in depth look into the unique handcrafting techniques which have been held for years by local artisans in Bali and neighbouring islands. If you are interested in supporting local artisans and keen on getting your hands on one of a kind pieces, do stop by the store and speak to the highly knowledgeable staff who are happy to advise on any queries. Note, you are paying for products which have been produced meticulously by the skilled artists. Please respect the time taken and take into consideration that prices are higher in comparison to what you will typically find outside on the market stalls.

I took a Batik Indigo workshop at the Threads of Life Dye studio and it was a really enriching experience. It's not easy finding access to these types of traditions and knowledges so it's a really special experience to learn how the indigo is made and practice batik! Also the workshop area is a beautiful workspace with a garden full of plants they use to harvest for the dyes!

Arma Thai Restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its gazebo seating where guests can enjoy a variety of authentic Thai and international dishes. Located near the renowned ARMA and Neka Gallery, the restaurant is part of the cultural and artistic hub in Ubud. Managed by the ARMA Foundation, it aims to preserve and promote not only Balinese arts but also Indonesian culture as a whole.
We stayed in the hotel and were daily for breakfast there as well as few time for dinner. Breakfast selection was quite good and we could find everything we want from fresh fruits, local dishes or egg specialities. Also setting by the river is very nice and quite. For dinner we had some thai food and thai green curry were just great. Also setting with many lights outside is very nice. They offer also cooking classes and we did one with Ketut and that was highlight of our stay. It was not only culinary journey into many balinese ingridients, but also a lot of activities to actively cook/cut/chop/etc. We even were quite tired at the end, but the food was the reward. We are really looking forward to come back and try to cook different menu next time.

Beautiful restaurant but I waited almost an hour for my food. I was dining solo, it was almost 9pm, and the restaurant was not busy at all. The people next to me arrived after I did, got their food, ate and left much before I even received my food. When I finally asked how much longer the wait would be, the food arrived, but it was cold. So disappointing especially because the restaurant was not busy. For the higher price, I assume the service would be better.

Embark on an unforgettable journey in Ubud, where the enchanting Bali Swing awaits amidst the verdant jungle. This adventure allows you to tailor your experience by choosing from stunning attractions like the iconic Tegalalang Rice Terrace and the breathtaking Tukad Cepung Waterfall. Don't miss out on a visit to Monkey Forest, a magical sanctuary teeming with playful monkeys and lush greenery that perfectly encapsulates Bali's natural beauty and cultural richness.
We had a great time at Monkey Forest today. We went there around 3pm on Thursday and it was not that crowded. I read in some comments that the monkeys were aggressive and stealing things but to my surprise I found the monkeys very docile here. The park was clean and there was food everywhere for the monkeys. Maybe the park management has improved things, maybe the monkeys have been well-fed and as a result they've become less aggressive, but the key thing is respect I believe. If you don’t disturb them and don't cross lines, all is well. They are just taking care of each other and most of them don't even care about people wandering around. If they stand somewhere, just keep your distance, take photo from afar, and keep on walking without provoking them. This is that simple. That's always good to be mindful and careful but we haven't seen anything to stress about. Just enjoy your time with them.

Visiting the Ubud Monkey Forest is an absolute must when in Bali. The setting is stunning, full of lush greenery, ancient temples, and peaceful forest paths that create a magical atmosphere. The monkeys roam freely, and it’s fascinating to watch them up close, especially the playful babies swinging from the trees. The site is well maintained, and the staff make sure both visitors and animals are safe and comfortable. That said, it’s important to follow the rules and avoid bringing food or shiny, loose items — the monkeys are very curious and might try to grab them. Still, the experience is totally worth it: a perfect mix of nature, culture, and fun. A must-visit spot in Ubud for animal lovers and anyone wanting to feel the true Balinese spirit.

Wow! What an absolutely amazing day trip. The Monkey Forest is beautiful and I have never had a chance to see this many monkeys together in my entire life. If you follow the rules and don’t try to feed them or touch them, then they should not bother you. But again you need to remember that these are wild or semi wild monkeys, and they are not meant to be fed or meant to be touched they were meant to be looked at. The greenery in the forest is beautiful. The statues are amazing and it’s definitely worth the trip.

Enjoyable day out in Ubud at the monkey forest. The kids were apprehensive at first but as we journeyed through the sanctuary they realised the monkeys were not feral or rabid but rather calm and more uninterested in you than you think. If you respect the rules and remain calm if a monkey jumps on you, then you should have no worries exploring this unique forrest and enjoying the unusual environment where humans and monkey co exist.

The Monkey Forest in Ubud is exactly what the name promises, lots of monkeys in a temple and forest setting. It is basically a big park where you wander among old stone carvings, tall trees, and troops of macaques that clearly think they own the place. It is a nice spot for a walk, with shady paths and a bit of atmosphere from the temples scattered around. The monkeys themselves are the main attraction, playful, curious, sometimes cheeky enough to test your patience if you are carrying food or shiny things. Overall it is a pleasant experience, part nature, part cultural site, part wildlife encounter. If you do not mind a few monkeys getting a little too close for comfort, it is worth a visit.

Bali Swing, located in Ubud on the Indonesian island of Bali, is a popular adventure outfit that offers various tours, rafting trips, and rope swings with stunning jungle views. Ubud itself is known for its picturesque setting among rice paddies and steep ravines and has become a hub for arts and culture tourism. The Bali Swing experience is highly recommended for visitors looking to capture breathtaking photos while soaring above the jungle, valley, rice terraces, and rivers.
We visited the Bali Swing with some friends during our holiday, and it was such a fun experience! The hill leading up was a little steep, but once you’re there the swings are absolutely fantastic and well worth it. Some of the girls hired dresses for photos, which added an extra touch and made the experience even more memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole setup felt safe and well organised. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and exciting to do while in Bali.
Thomas B — Google review
Great Views and Photos, But Staff Attitude Needs Work Visited Real Bali Swing in Ubud and overall, it’s a good place if you’re looking for some iconic photo moments with a lush, scenic backdrop of greenery and water. The location itself is beautiful and natural, with about 8–10 different swings designed for that perfect Instagram shot. However, it’s on the expensive side — 650K IDR per person for access to all swings and lunch, plus 200K per person if you want professional photography, and another 250K for dress rental (plus 50K for a floral crown). Also, do note they prefer cash over card, which can be a hassle if you’re not carrying enough. Some swings were genuinely fun and made for amazing photos, while others felt more like filler rides just there to increase the count. The major downside was the staff, especially the male crew members managing the swings. The reception ladies were friendly and helpful, but the swing assistants were rude, impatient, and lacking basic manners. Despite paying for photography, we had to call them multiple times just to get their attention for photos, and they acted like they were doing us a favor. Another thing I found unfair is that even if you want to use just one or two swings, you still have to pay the full 650K — no option for individual access. Toilets are also very limited and not well-maintained, which was disappointing for a place charging premium prices. Overall, worth a visit for the natural setting and memorable pictures, but the experience could be so much better if the staff were more courteous and the pricing model was a bit more flexible.
Rajendra G — Google review
Obviously very touristy but such a gorgeous place showcasing the beauty of Bali. Had so much fun taking photos even with just the general entry, which also came with the lunch buffet. It was just a nice bonus but you could even just sit there with some tea and soak in the views. I recommend going super early before it gets packed and if you're lucky you might get one of the local photographers to help you but make sure you tip them!!!
Souper S — Google review
It looks dreamy and adventurous in photos, but in reality, it’s more of a well-managed photo spot than an actual thrill ride. The queues can be long, and everything feels a bit commercialized, from the setup to the pricing. That said, once you’re up there swinging against the backdrop of Bali’s lush greenery, you can’t deny the view is breathtaking. The staff are friendly, they guide you well for safety and also help you get those perfect Insta-worthy shots. It might not live up to the overhype, but it’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience — one of those iconic memories and photo proofs that mark your visit to Bali 🇮🇩🌴📸✨

We had an amazing experience at Bali Swing! The staff gave us all the time we needed to take beautiful photos — no rushing or waiting lines stressing everyone out, even though it was Saturday. A big thank you to the whole team for being so kind and for preparing a lovely surprise for my birthday. It made the day even more special!

Aloha Ubud Swing is a must-visit destination in Bali for photography enthusiasts. It features beautifully adorned swings surrounded by lush plants and flowers, set against the picturesque backdrop of Tegallalang rice fields and Coffee Luwak Plantation. This unique experience offers plenty of opportunities to capture stunning pictures for your social media feeds and travel albums.
I had a truly wonderful experience yesterday at Aloha Swing! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly and clearly explained all the available packages. The 5-swing package costs 400K IDR, dress rental is 250K, and the photographer service is 200K. At first, I didn’t think I’d need the photographer, since my husband was taking pictures with a professional camera – and honestly, the photos turned out great! But in the end, I still decided to get the official photos as well, and I’m so glad I did – they were absolutely stunning. The option to add the photo package later is such a smart idea! Even if you don’t book the photo package in advance, the photographer still takes photos of you and gives you posing tips to make sure you look your best – so you’re guaranteed to have amazing shots no matter what. They offer dresses with long sleeves and sleeveless ones in beautiful colors. They adjust the dress for you so that, even if it’s a bit big, it fits and looks perfect in the photos. We arrived around 9:30 AM and there was no crowd at all. We waited no more than 10 minutes. Everyone working there was incredibly kind, cheerful, and professional. I highly recommend visiting Aloha Swing – it’s an experience you won’t forget!

We had to stand in the line for so long to take the swing. Not worth it to be very honest. We went to U fun field and it was much better and no wait either. The staff was courteous but everything was mid. The view was nit that great either. The dresses available for rent were mid too. The dresses were all the same and not very clean. The changing areas weren’t that private either. They don’t let you try the dresses before you pay for them the rent for dresses was way too much too.

Flying high above the jungle, rice fields, and valleys on the famous Bali Swing was an unforgettable thrill They offer swing packages at different heights, private transfers, or even additional activities to make the day richer. You’ll also find dress rentals and professional photographers ready to capture that perfect “flying” shot — a memory you’ll treasure forever

I booked 400k package, for dress 250k and photography 200k. Photographers did a decent work. They instructed how to pose . Lovely. I loved the pictures. Queue management was good too. An Indian couple tried to jump off the queue in front of me, they were so rude. I was waiting in front of them in the queue, still they were so loud and always disrespectful.
Shamee K — Google review
Well I guess you know what to expect when going to a super touristy place, but all these little extra side charges are just unnecessary. 400k IDR for the entry fee if you use the swing. But if you think you can join to do the pictures for free you are wrong, extra 50k IDR for joining as photographer or use their service for another 200k IDR. Dressing up? Another 200k IDR. Thinking you can walk around in the garden after paying 400k IDR? You are wrong, each part costs extra. Also, you get rushed through it, don't do this, don't do that. If you want that picture be ready to spend and don't go if above mentioned bothers you! Btw, there is 1000 such slides in Bali!
Ueli H — Google review
The place was really crowded. We got some nice photos, but it wasn’t actually fun. It felt like it’s just made for taking pictures, not for enjoying the experience. Prices are shown in the photos. Also, they’re the ones who do the photography and charge you for it — they inform you about this beforehand. But honestly, without their photos, you don’t really get much benefit. You have to let them take your pictures and pay for it.
Ibrahim H — Google review
I recently visited Aloha Swing, and honestly, it felt very overhyped by influencers and definitely not worth it. The experience was disappointing and nowhere close to what you see online. One major issue is that they scam you by placing a large screen right in front of you after the shoot, displaying all your pictures and tempting you to buy them. I ended up getting only 10 pictures — and trust me, don’t even ask about the price, it still hurts! They offer dresses for rent, but here’s the catch — only their photographer knows the exact locations and angles to get good shots. You are not allowed to click your own photos or even have someone else take pictures for you, which makes you completely dependent on them and their expensive packages. Overall, it felt like a tourist trap designed to make you spend more rather than enjoy the experience. Would definitely not recommend unless you're prepared for a hefty bill and a lot of frustration. Here is the proof of scam....oops...I mean price tags....make your own decision..... Upon receiving the feedback from management thought of sharing the photos of me being at their location.....I hope management remembers their employee....ppl can chose wisely...I don't need explanation from management.
Swati S — Google review
Aloha Ubud Swing is definitely one of those overhyped Bali attractions. The place is super commercialized everything from the photography, dresses, and even each swing is priced separately. It feels more like an Instagram influencer’s playground than a cultural or nature-based experience. That said, the actual swinging experience was fun and thrilling, and the views are beautiful. It’s a bit costly overall, but if you're just looking for a unique and fun moment, it’s worth trying once. Tip: Just go for the basic experience and avoid spending too much on all the extras unless you're going there specifically for content creation.

The walk takes you through beautiful rice fields and farm homes, offering a peaceful and scenic experience. Along the way, you'll find the charming Sweet Orange warung for refreshments.

Guests can indulge in tasting sessions featuring various types of locally made coffee, including Luwak coffee, as well as Bali chocolate and rice wine.
Really like the place. The stuffs were really friendly, actually I should appreciate their marketing strategy. The ladies will take you through the farm and show you the plants of coffee and spices. They'll also show the processing plant of coffee. You'll find Luak who helps to make world's most expensive coffee. Then they'll feed you all of their coffee, tea and chocolate production for free. You can buy their products at reasonable price. Overall, its good experience.

This place was a great stop. I've done coffee tours before but this was excellent and I loved every single tea. They lose a star because they claim to only keep the cats captive for 24 hours to correct their $hit and use it to make coffee but that didn't seem honest, I think they provably keep them longer to actually get them fed and to pass the coffee through.

The coffee is really great here. The staffs are also good. They will tell you how to make the coffee. They will show you around. The coffee farm is really nice. They will give you permission to make the coffee yourself. The process is really authentic.. They will give you some free tea but if you want to drink the coffee lwak then you have to pay 50,000 idr for one cup. The place is also nice for taking picture. Nice place. Highly recommended.

What happened for us is that we were on our way to Ubud from Canggu and our taxi driver kindly asked us if we wanted to stop to a coffee tasting with not extra fees. We accepted. First of all, all the animals they have are either in small cages (the lukahs which they use for coffee) or they are attached like this owl and they used them for paying pictures with the customers. The coffee tasting : we had 6 « types »of coffee and 6 « teas ». Everything was just 50% coconut sugar and 50% something else. It was the most sugary beverages (except 1 coffee which wasn’t good at all). The boutique : after that they bring you to the boutique where you really are under pressure for buying because the tasting is free of charge. It is pricey and it doesn’t feel authentic at all, everything being wrapped in plastic. A lot of taxi drivers were waiting at the entrance. Maybe our driver really wanted to bring us to a nice place but it felt more like a scam to me.

The chocolate making process was explained live and amazingly delicious chocolates without sugar. The cocoa seeds are grown there. The guides are very friendly and helpful. Gave us a tour about the farm and coffees, teas and chocolates process. They also gave us the 14 varieties of tea to taste which helped in deciding on the flavours to pick up later. My favourites were ginseng and ginger tea. They had some luwaks in a cage. Didn’t really like the famous Luwak coffee. They also had a python and owl for pictures purpose. This was just a small part of the farm. They have a bigger farm else where. This is the last tourist destination in our trip.

We stopped by this place since it’s not so far from Bali Swing. You can stop by this small place to try the coffee and tea and take a look at some herb plants. A quick tour for those who doesn’t have much time left in hand and want to try Kopi Luwak. A set of different kinds of tea and coffee is free for you to try. But if you want to try the Kopi Luwak, you have to pay. Sorry I don’t remember the price we paid. The Kopi Luwak comes with three flavors of chocolate to have it with the coffee, which is pretty nice. The atmosphere there with the set of coffee can be a pleasant way to relax especially if you just finish the Bali Swing.

Great experience of a plantation tour - they grow their own cocoa, coffee etc. The show you the kopi luwak process including seeing some luwaks. Tour ends with a great selection of teas - ginger, hibiscus, and coffees including a kopi luwak brew display. We also tried arak (and know we don't want anymore of it!). The shop had a great selection of all their teas, coffees, and they accept credit cards. Very helpful and friendly staff. Loved the experience - my 2 teenage boys didn't mind it, they never complained of being bored. Great stop on the way back from Ubud and money forest.

Really nice place. As we enter the entrance, one of the guides walks with us explaining all the plants there. They speaks English very well, so if you come with foreigners, you don't have to be as a translator :D the good part from visiting this place is they serves us a lot of little cups of their products. Tea, Coffee, and Chocolates!! My favorite were Lemongrass Tea and piece of Orange Chocolate. Afterwards, the guide shows us where we can buy their products. The prices are too high (in my opinion) but I bought one little pack (100gr) of Lemongrass Tea Powder, cost IDR80.000. Overall, it was nice for visiting this place.

The Sweet Orange Walk Trail is a relatively easy to moderate hike, making it suitable for families looking for a quick adventure near central Ubud. While it may not offer the grandeur of terraced rice fields, the trail provides a leisurely experience with roadside stalls and warungs. It's a tranquil escape from the bustling activity of Ubud, although it's not recommended for those with limited mobility due to narrow paths and occasional scooter traffic.
We stumbled across this walk on a previous visit to Ubud, and since then, it’s become a must-do every time we return. On our latest trip, we walked it four more times—each just as enjoyable as the first. The Sweet Orange Walk Trail is one of those peaceful gems that blends village life with nature. The trail winds through lush rice fields, with ducks waddling and playing in the paddies, and the occasional dragonfly dancing across the water. Along the way, you’ll find a handful of charming cafes and warungs, perfect for a drink, a fruit platter, or a full Balinese meal with a view. It’s a flat, easy walk that suits all fitness levels. There’s just one short section where you need to walk across a few wooden planks—but it adds to the charm more than it takes away from the accessibility. You’ll also spot personal inscriptions and messages carved into the stone path beneath your feet, which adds a lovely human touch to the route. Whether you walk it for sunrise, a late lunch, or golden hour with a camera in hand, it’s a wonderful way to unwind in Ubud and soak in a slower side of Bali.

The Sweet Orange Trail is a lovely short walk in Ubud. You start from a busy street and soon find yourself walking through peaceful rice fields. The path makes a loop so it is easy to follow. Along the way there are a few small cafés where you can stop and enjoy something to eat or drink. It is about 3 kilometers, so just under 2 miles. It is not really a hike but a nice way to enjoy the quiet side of Ubud.

This trail was absolutely stunning!! I would really recommend :) The rice terraces are so beautiful and there are a few locations near the trail to get something to drink. Since it’s pretty sunny I would recommend doing it in the morning or afternoon :) And please do not get scared of the beginning of the trail!! It’s really worth it

Hidden gem of a small path that leads you straight out of the city of Ubud into to rice fields lying above. You enter the path from one of the very busy streets between two houses and come out again right in-between the rice fields. Up on top you can take beautiful pictures of the sunset with the scenery. The path between the rice fields continues and leads to 'sweet orange warung', which is also very good.

The entrance makes you feel like you are not headed in the right direction-if you are thinking this you are on the right path haha! But know once you see the giant monkey be assured you are on almost there. The weather was very pleasant the day we went so we really took our time on the walk even stopping along the way at the Sweet Orange Warung for some iced teas. Looking at all of the cement stones along the path was a fun addition to the walk. You can create your own large stone for a small amount (400k if I remember) to contribute to the upkeep and continued paving of the path for future visitors. I think this is a great idea so build in some extra time if this is something you might be interested in

The way is hidden for those who do not see the entrance. You will find the entrance right behind the Lotus Cafe and Starbucks. Fantastic hidden way to escape the very busy streets of Ubud and walk along the rice fields. My favorite spot in Ubud. I love to walk alone in the morning and have my breakfast in the Sweet Orange Warung.

Arrived in Ubud quite late and decided to do this trail before dinner and.......not impressed, not impressed at all. The start/end point of the walk from Jl Raya Ubud seems dangerous to begin with, and full of unsightly rubbish and smelly. This point has no lighting so I strongly recommend not start/end from here upon sundown as you may slip down the ravine if not careful. Maybe because it was close to sundown or I had seen natural beautiful rice paddy in other countries, or maybe I expected more, I was actually puzzled by those good reviews. What goes thru my mind was that I hope the scenery here is not a glimpse of what Bali is all about. Yes, this was my first time, first day in Bali, and no, I will say this is not a must do trail unless to clock your steps to keep healthy. Oh, to be fair, there are very few interesting looking Warung and coffee joints you could stop by for a drink and meal. Price looks to be on the high side.

I always walk here when I visit Ubud. It’s a beautiful walk through the rice fields, as you keep going into the quiet areas it just gets better. Lots of places to eat, to buy local art and souvenirs along the way if that’s what you’re looking for too. There’s the Jungle River and Waterfall along the walk for the more adventurous. Great trail once you get beyond the part where all the shops, cafes and resorts are. Too many stupid motorbikes zipping through the path to enjoy it. Beyond that it's an amazing trail with some fantastic views. You'll have that part mostly to yourself as very few people seem to go beyond the tourist trap areas.

One of the most peaceful and beautiful spots in Ubud, perfect for a morning stroll or a sunset time walk. The narrow scenic path winds through lush palm trees, endless rice fields, and cozy little cafes with amazing views. It’s quiet, calm, and just has this magical vibe. You’ll see friendly locals working in the fields, hear the sounds of nature, and feel completely at peace. If you’re looking for a spot to slow down and soak in Ubud’s beauty, this place is a must-visit!

We went for an early morning run in this amazing walk. Full of coffee shops and villas at the beginning but then all you can see is green rice fields. It goes up all the way and with the humidity, the run can be challenging, so walking will be a better option. But we enjoyed running here as well.

More recommended than other nearby popular trail walks. I came here solo. Important detail: walk along the path of Tandoor indian restaurant and keep walking u through will start seeing rice fields after a while. Keep walking till u like and wander around n come back the same path. U can dine at tandoor.

A really nice walk into the very nearby Ubud. The place is full of cafes and shops of artists and amazing views over rice fields. The only very bad thing is that it is constantly passed by scooters that are quite invasive and make crazy noise.

Be careful of the motorcycles if you're walking here. Narrow shared paths. Very nice to walk here. Best time is sunrise and sunset.

It's not really a walking trail because you have to let so many motorbikes and scooters past, especially at the start but it's continuous. Lovely views despite this, and still recommended, although not one of my favourite walks because of the constant traffic zipping past
