Museums
Questacon - National Science and Technology Centre is a children's museum that offers interactive exhibits and puppet shows focused on science and technology. It is one of the must-visit attractions in Canberra, along with other notable sites like the National Gallery of Australia, Australian War Memorial, and more. The center provides an engaging experience for visitors to immerse themselves in scientific exploration.
This place is exhilarating. The amount of science projects in here is amazing. I visited with my husband and our sons 1,2 and 17 year-old. They all found something they were excited about and we spent at least three hours in this place. We even got to sit in and watch the Japanese exhibit show. I do not recommend for the ages of my children but definitely for children age between 7 and 12. Definitely visit again next winter holidays.

I came here many years ago when I was at school and remembered loving it. Came again recently as an adult with some friends and it was a nice nostalgic visit. Average entry price, we came about 2.5 hrs before closing time during the week and that was a good time as most of the school kids had left and we had a lot of space to ourselves to enjoy the place. While a lot of the activities are designed for kids you can still enjoy and learn as an adult. Loved the earthquake room and the lightning simulation as well as the big slide. Gift shop not too bad, I thought there would be more cool science related stuff. Also love that there's some nice places to eat within walking distance, and plenty of parking at the venue.
Crystal R — Google review
There's something for all age groups in this science centre. The exhibits are well curated and are informative. We visited on a weekday day and there were quite many school groups. We ended up spending quite some time in the centre, as we found the experimental learning enjoyable. A visit is highly recommended!
Helen T — Google review
Iconic science museum - I remember coming here as a kid and enjoying the earthquake machine and lighting show. They’ve still got all that and lots more now. Parking can be a bit pricey, there’s a cafe and daily shows demonstrating how fire works and the like. Great for kids under 10!
Toby H — Google review
So much to see and do for all ages. You can buy food from the cafe and sit inside or outside to eat. The initial ramp you walk up to start going in different sections is quite step. We had a fantastic afternoon there
Michelle C — Google review
Really fun experience for the whole family. If you've been to science works this is far more enjoyable for a family with kids. Very interactive for everyone, lots of things the kids can do on their own without parent intervention. Staff around on a few levels to assist or do demonstrations. Normally our kids steer clear of staff who want to interact... but all these staff had a way that worked and I've never seen the kids all so engaged. I could have gone and got lunch and they wouldn't have known I left. It was great to see! Hours of fun and exploration. Lids learned lots of new things and had fun with all the interactive stations throughout. We rushed in the end as had to get out of there, I think 3 hours is probably a good amount of time to set aside if you're heading in with multiple kids.
Hamish — Google review
What an amazing place to visit. Science enthusiast or not plenty of interactive exhibits. Nitrogen show was popular and had to wait a while in queue (we visited on school holidays) but was fun. Staff were friendly.
Yujan S — Google review
Amazing! We spent the whole day here. It is incredible. Perfect for families. There is so much to see and do. So many scientists around to answer questions, demonstrate and models things. We spent 45mins with one scientist just showing the kids different investigations. The kids were mesmerised.

The National Museum of Australia is a modern waterfront building that showcases artifacts spanning 50,000 years of Australian history and culture. It is one of the top sightseeing attractions in the area, offering fun activities for visitors. The museum features free exhibitions like 'Great Southern Land,' which explores the essence of Australian identity, and the Gandel Atrium filled with captivating objects. Families can enjoy the Tim and Gina Fairfax Discovery Centre with interactive activities and virtual storytelling.
Located at Lawson Crescent, Acton, ACT, Australia 🇦🇺 This museum is a MUST when visiting the ACT. It’s free entry and we also saw the Mr Squiggle and Friends exhibition which is also Free 🆓 entry. The Mr Squiggle exhibition was fantastic, brought back so many memories from watching the show when I was a child. The rest of the exhibits in the Gallery section was just as wonderful. The range of subjects is so vast and rich in Australian history. The Landmarks section was especially interesting. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting this museum. A BIG Thumbs Up! 👍👍👍

Great museum, with many informative and historical exhibits. It's time well spent immersing oneself in the exhibits and short films that are played in the screens alongside. There are some interesting automobile exhits too. We visited on a weekday and the museum was fairly empty. A visit is recommended, especially for the young ones.

Our family had a very positive experience here. The displays were beautiful and the building is stunning and extravagant, no expense spared in any way. Very welcoming environment, we entered without booking and just walked straight in and wandered around admiring the displays. There are many interactive elements to the displays with educational snippets everywhere you look. Many fascinating things, would definitely recommend to any age. The Cafe was a pleasant suprise also, food and coffee were all good and reasonably priced.

Great day out, I love this Museum. I like the Australian history of our past and growth of Australia. We were there when Mr Squiggle display was happening. It was a great blast from my childhood past...Hurry Up, haha, Miss Jane, Miss Jane. It was also interesting learning about Norman Hetherington the creator. Best of all free entry and great for kids.

This is a really nice Mueseum! The exhibits are very professional looking and beautifully presented. A lot to learn and see, with helpful digital information boards to find each item from the display and read about them. The staff at entry were also very friendly, and the gift shop is nice. Everything is well thought out and I highly recommend a visit! It’s free to visit apart from parking, but it’s worth the cost for the time you spend here.

A very interesting place to visit. Lots of parking and has 2 x free AC 7KW Ev chargers....BYO cable. Cafe is popular. You could spend all day wandering around both inside and outside. We checked out the Mr Squiggle exhibit.

Went and saw the Mr Squiggle exhibition today. What a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Reliving my childhood whilst also discovering new information all about the creator - Norman Hetherington. The tour guide Hugo, also had a vast array of knowledge detailing even more about the artist and the exhibition. Such a delight and a great mood lifter. Fantastic experience.

I love this place. I have visited many times before so went to the Mr Squiggle exhibition. It was free and AMAZING!!! Not just about Mr Sqiggle but the entire career of Norman Hetherington. MUST SEE!

Bodies of Water
Lake Burley Griffin, located in Canberra, offers serene trails for walking and cycling along its scenic man-made shores. It's a popular spot for boating and fishing. The area is also home to some of Canberra's most sought-after wedding venues, including the Old Parliament House, Rose Garden, Gold Creek Chapel, Margaret Whitlam Pavilion overlooking the National Arboretum, National Gallery Sculpture Garden, and The Boat House.
A great place to walk. Very wide path, it's very popular with walkers and bikers. Great views. Can choose to do long walks or shorter. Plenty of things to look at on the water and off.

Went to the Yarralumla beach on a Sunday morning. It was lovely and serene. There was a coffee cart setting up (The Pink Raddish), saw someone doing SUP. Well barriered area for little kids swimming and platform for swimmers who might have to fight off some wildlife to get onto the platform.
Stella R — Google review
Such a gorgeous lake, with a variety of sightseeing options depending on mobility. Highly recommend cycling around it if able, and visiting the many nearby markets.
Nat V — Google review
Beautiful place for walking, running, cycling and amazing views and surroundings.

Beautiful ang huge lake, plenty of attractions around it like parks, museums, art galleries, national library. Also some restaurants and cafes. The trail around the lake is awesome for walking, run, cycling. Easy access for people with disabilities and parents with prams. Lots of places for a nice picnic. The lake is also good for water sports. Definitely a must visit in Canberra.
Simone V — Google review
A truly marvellous feature of Canberra. There are three basins; East, West and Central. It is possible to walk around all three with excellent walking and cycling paths. There are many picnic spots, toilets, some cafes and outdoor gym areas. The central basin walk is around 5-6km, the eastern basin around 13km, the western basin around 16km and if you take in all the peninsulas you can cover 35km. Good to know if planning a walk, run or cycle. One of my favourite running spots and a great place to take visitors. 🏃‍♀️🥰

I couldn’t believe that it is artificial lake which was amazing. I spent an entire day walking around, taking photos, looking patterns of the clouds. I recommend you to check out the weather and transportation.

Beautiful lake. Quiet spots to sit and eat lunch (on the grass), it could do with more designed seating. You are able to loan bike or electric scooter from the visitor centre to travel along the waters edge.

The expansive lawns in front of the building, known as The Great Verandah, are open to both humans and dogs. Capture the perfect dog-selfie against the backdrop of this iconic political landmark for a memorable memento of your visit.
Lovely place to visit with your little one to know the history behind it and there will be guide to give you tour and explain things. You can choose free session which is quicker one and you have option to get paid session that is longer one. You can explore by yourself as well. Parking between 0 to 1 hour is free and more than 1 hour is paid.

We spent 2 hours visiting and walking the halls of this amazing building. Very informative and friendly staff everywhere. Had a light lunch in the cafe too. Pretty good and plenty of seating. Great views from the rooftop not to be missed. Amazing artwork of past and present prime ministers.

Great “Best Of Parliament House” tour! Worth the $28/ticket.
Tick1one — Google review
Our visit to the Parliament House of Australia in Canberra on 30 December 2024 was very pleasant, and without much fuzz, one would expect in a government building. Entry is free of charge, and one can roam around the building and take pictures. Parents can bring a pram inside. A must visit area is the Great Hall, which is the venue for large formal receptions, dinners, and significant national major events. The main attraction is the Great Hall Tapestry, which measures 20 meters wide by 9 meters high, making it one of the largest tapestries in the world. I did not know it was a tapestry as I thought it was a huge painting of trees. I learned later that it was inspired by bushland painting by Australian artist Arthur Boyd. The Queen's Terrace Cafe serves good and reasonably priced food. The Parliament House was opened on May 9, 1988, by Queen Elizabeth II. It is definitely worth a visit. #Canberra #governmentbuilding #Parliament #Australia
Pearly J — Google review
I recently had the privilege of visiting Parliament House in Canberra, and it was a truly insightful and impressive experience. Having explored other significant sites in Canberra, it was fantastic to finally step inside this iconic building. The sheer scale and thoughtful design of the building are immediately striking, reflecting its central role in Australian democracy. Walking through its halls, galleries, and chambers, you get a tangible sense of the history and ongoing work that shapes the nation. The architecture itself is magnificent. From the impressive flagpole atop Capital Hill to the intricate details within, the design is both grand and accessible. It's a building that seamlessly blends functionality with powerful symbolism, making it a truly "damn amazing" piece of modern architecture, much like the War Memorial in its own way. The visit offered a wonderful opportunity to learn about Australia's parliamentary processes and democratic traditions. I highly recommend Parliament House to anyone visiting Canberra; it’s an essential stop.
Sanjaya S — Google review
We did the extra special behind the scenes tour with Bruce in the first half and Robin for the second half. Matt also showed us through the press area and TV studios... awesome tour... knowledgeable... entertaining... brilliant...oh...and the high tea was pretty good too...
Richard — Google review
Visiting Parliament House in Canberra was a truly insightful and enriching experience. As the political heart of Australia, this iconic building beautifully blends modern architecture with deep historical significance. From the moment you arrive, the structure impresses with its sweeping lawns and the towering 81-metre flagpole — a symbol of national pride. The guided tour was well-organized and informative, offering a behind-the-scenes look into Australia’s democratic process. Walking through the House of Representatives and the Senate chambers gave a real sense of how decisions are made that shape the nation. The tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. The building itself is filled with art, symbolism, and historical exhibits — from the Great Hall’s stunning tapestry to portraits of former Prime Ministers. Don’t miss the rooftop, where you can walk on top of the building and enjoy panoramic views of Canberra. Entry is free, and the security procedures are smooth and respectful. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, this visit offers an educational experience that deepens your appreciation of Australian governance and history. #canberra #canberraparliamenthouse

A visit to the National Library of Australia is always rewarding, and this time was no exception. The “Fit to Print” exhibition was a highlight—an insightful and beautifully curated journey through the history of photography, newspapers, and the power of storytelling in Australian media. It offered a compelling mix of visuals and context, showcasing how our stories have been captured, printed, and preserved over time. The on-site café is another gem—bright, welcoming, and serving delicious food with friendly, attentive staff. It’s the perfect spot to relax before or after exploring the exhibitions. A thoughtful and enriching experience all around—highly recommended for history buffs, photography lovers, and anyone interested in how stories shape a nation.

Lovely library with free entry, clean and comfortable spaces, and even a small free exhibition. Great vibe with plenty of seating for study or work. Only downside: parking is $4.20/hr (we paid $6.80), which felt a bit pricey. Overall, a great visit!

A true cultural treasure! The National Library offers not just books, but an immersive experience in Australia’s literary and historical heritage. The reading rooms are peaceful and well-equipped, the exhibitions are thoughtfully curated, and the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. It’s a great place to study, explore rare collections, or just take in the stunning architecture and riverside setting. Highly recommended for locals, tourists, and researchers alike!

Popped in for a quick browse around the library. They had an interesting exhibition covering 1975. Slightly before my time, but was good to see the issues that people faced back then.

Such a fantastic cultural gem! I come from interstate to do research. The amazing staff bend over backwards to help you in your work. I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing cultural treasures and the wonderful staff who are custodians of such amazing knowledge. there are free lockers and great facilities when you want to come and work here. I always check out the exhibitions that are on when I’m here, and the cafe is also pretty special. If I lived in Canberra, I think I’d spend every spare moment here!
Ronald M — Google review
Quick visit early on a Monday morning to check out the special exhibition 'Fit for Print'. It featured news photographs from the Fairfax archive for the last 100 years. Really interesting storytelling of everyday Australian life rather than big historic events. No photography allowes within the exhibition. Have previously checked out the Treasures Gallery. The timed car parking is expensive and really difficult to estimate how long your visit is going to be before you go in. Makes it stressed and rushed.
Timeshare C — Google review
Remarkable calming exhibition. When you step inside the library’s ongoing exhibition you’ll feel a sense of peace and serenity, because it’s so empty and quiet! The library is well-sized and well-maintained. There’s several options for book, but not as quite diverse as the National Library in Sydney and Melbourne. The reading and working area are well lit from natural lighting and the space is maintained in a climate comfortable environment (not too hot and not too cold). There’s children activity corner at the front during the school holiday. The coffee shop in front has good coffee and a nice view. There’s also a large bag bagging area. When I came here in January 2025, the building was still in ongoing renovation on the outside, still good in the inside. Oh, and there’s free wifi as well!

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) is a treasure trove of over 2 million audiovisual works, ranging from experimental films to oral histories. It's renowned for its collection and restoration of recordings that capture Australian history. Housed in the former Australian Institute of Anatomy, the museum offers a nostalgic journey through decades of professional preservation with engaging events and exhibitions. The Game Masters Exhibition is a must-visit, offering an immersive experience that brings childhood memories back to life.
Despite many visits to Canberra, this was our first visit here. Wonderful nostalgic display in the "library", which is well mounted and with excellent touch screen details. Some interesting docos. screening in the theatre room, wonderful art deco building and well worth allowing an hour or so to visit and see the place. No major exhibition at the time of our visit but I am told they do have some great exhibitions there too,
Ian M — Google review
Wonderful friendly and helpful staff who directed us to where everything was. Really well thought out display of physical archives, and excellent use of technology using tablets to describe each piece (some with accompanying sound/video clips). Taking the time to read/view each was a joy, and took away from the clutter you sometimes find in similar exhibits. Absolutely left us wanting more, but would happily return to see the next display.

obviously a very important place holding the history of Australian Television and movies and of course music ...some great history on the display and certainly a bit of a trip down memory lane .. archive is free to visit
Warren B — Google review
The NFSA is located in a beautiful building that shows off the history of Australian film and television. Despite the size and beauty of the NFSA there isn't actually a huge amount to see or do. The best part is you can spend probably 5-10 minutes in the archive (pictured) looking at some really interesting artefacts and read their history. Otherwise there's the old and new theatres that play various films/documentaries on related topics but you'd need to check the times if you want to enjoy them in full. It's great that entry is free and the staff I met were all super friendly and helpful with any questions I had. It's perfect for a quick drop in, but don't plan your whole day around it.
Giovanni — Google review
We were glad it was free but sadly we had to pay $9 parking but interesting for about 30 minutes. Sadly a school was using the theatre, maybe that is where the history of motion and sound in Australia would’ve been explained to us otherwise there wasn’t anything . The art deco Building is the highlight.

Left Canberra two days ago after staying two nights on a family road trip to Melbourne. We stopped here because my folks knew I'd love it, being a film graduate from QUT with a Bachelor's degree in Film Production. My parents had seen it back in the 1980s. The whole experience was highly disappointing and frankly an embarrassing display of Australia's film and TV history. This is no fault of the staff. They were fantastic and answered our questions with great attention. Upon airing our perspectives of the venue it was clear they agreed with us. Honestly, if I could give it half a star, I would. The best aspect was the coffee which was delicious. And charging for 3-hour parking when the venue exhibits don't even take an hour to observe, is a joke. Our government should be doing a lot more to showcase Australia's film and TV history. Again, I felt very embarrassed. Staff AAA+.

Dropped in to see the Inferno exhibition yesterday. What a beautiful building, amazing atmosphere. I could have spent a lot more time just examining the details in the building and its history from its' former life. The current displays are super fun, the library room in particular. As for Inferno - a provactive, beautiful, experience. I am still processing and will go back again. I recommend immersing yourself in this experience while it is on.

Saw the reviews, thought I'd give them a call just to be sure. Got told "I think it closes at 3.30pm", which already sounds unsure. Got there, the discovery centre is now only open to school excursions. This is really bad management, the staff that picks up the phone should be given this information; I don't blame her at all. Hubby said this is probably because they had findings cut, pity.

A modern hands on discovery centre with Lots of great STEM activities to explore, themed around CSIRO projects. A small gift shop. Nice coffee shop on the first floor. There is an elevator to go down to the discovery centre if you can't use the stairs.
DC D — Google review
Only open for 2hrs/day, and be aware there is an admission fee applied for entry, $10/adult, $6/kid or $30/family, outside sign is misleading about their opening and close time, limit parking spots, unexpected small space, limited activities inside, both "press button and see" are not working at all??? Not really worth it. Very disappointed!!
RACHEL S — Google review
Intending visitors must pre-book before arriving. See website for details. Disappointed to find the Discovery Centre closed and in darkness when we arrived at 10am yesterday. The opening hours can also change dependant on school and other group bookings. Parking and opening hours have been limited by recent building works which we were told were almost complete. The coffee and service at the Discovery Centre Cafe was excellent.

A smaller exhibit than I expected. At the time of our visit some displays didn't work or had missing components. They had a LEGO table, a very large collections of Bee bots, a small gift shop and some interactive displays. It is geared more towards older kids, perhaps middle-upper primary at least. There were microscopes and a water usage display where your can toggle activities to see how much water you could use/save. The displays about CSIRO inventions were really interesting but many of them were just that - displays. If you have younger children it is better to take them to Questacon as they also do reciprocal membership benefits for certain museum members. At the time we went, which mid morning, the cafe was not particularly well organised. They had a few (3-4) people working from what I could see, and it was quite, but my coffee order took almost 14 minutes to arrive after I've paid and taken a seat. Not sure if this is a normal occurrence but it was our experience at the time.
Margaret L — Google review
There was no indication that the centre was closed. Some lights were on but not all. The entry desk was lit but not attended. We were able to walk in, look at some of the few displays that were lit and walk out without seeing a soul.

Fantastic! My daughter is a science enthusiast and the discovery centre was a wonderful opportunity to not only play but see the practical application of science in our world and how it benefits people and the environment. The staff were friendly and helpful and spent a lot of time talking with my daughter and encouraging her passion for science. We will be back!

Frugii Dessert Laboratory, situated in the bustling Lonsdale Street of Braddon, is renowned for its inventive ice creams crafted by the ice cream alchemist John Fruggi. The menu features unique flavors like truffle, butter chicken, laksa, liquorice and hot cross buns. In addition to their delectable ice creams, they offer a variety of delightful desserts.
Truly phenomenal dessert and so many options! Catered to dietary requirements really well, the range even for gluten free and dairy free is brilliant! Staff were friendly, there were plenty of places to sit and the relaxed atmosphere meant time flew by!!!

The place seems kind of unassuming tucked away inside a small but fancy shopping mall. We bought honey/mandarin ice cream and cheesecake. The flavours in the ice cream were really pronounced and tasted true and fresh. The cheesecake was more of a classic flavour. They also do tea/coffee/hot chocolate. There is minimal seating which was incredibly uncomfortable. Parking is easy out front.

Frugi is a family owned business in Braddon, Canberra. It was recommended to us by a few people who’d visited. It is a dessert store, which makes all of their ice cream, gelato, cakes and chocolate from scratch. Ice creams can be bought in waffle cones, cups, or in take-away tubs. They also have ice cream sticks other desserts like semifreddo and parfait. Flavours change daily but on our visit there was salted caramel, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, chocolate macaron, rosewater, soursop, raspberry, and the flavour we chose - black truffle in vanilla. We got it in a cup, and it was nice and creamy with a good hint of truffle. Very enjoyable!

Delicious dessert bar with a mix of traditional flavours and interesting mashups. The gelato was amazing and full of flavour. Definitely reccomend visiting this place for dessert even on a cold Canberra night!
Terence H — Google review
Whilst Frugii might not have as many flavours as some ice creameries, the flavours they do serve are unique and delicious. They have several gluten free and dairy free options, as well as small desserts. They're open quite late (11pm) on Friday nights which is perfect for after dinner desserts. Definitely worth a try. We tried the red peach (super tasty) and mango flavours. The mango was easily the best we've tried.

Cool little dessert bar tucked away in a cluster of hip foodie shops in Braddon. Has a good selection of interesting desserts and ice creams. I had the lemon meringue puff and the custard was very flavoursome. Can’t wait to try all the other desserts.

John’s ice cream at Frugii is delicious and the ever-changing menu provides a unique opportunity to experience the best ice cream and desserts that Braddon has to offer. Coffee is also good! It's a little pricey although its an experience worth having.

Stumbled across this hidden gem! A dessert lab well hidden inside a building, the kind of place you need to know so you can find it. Tried the "Black Truffle" and it was so creamy, love the truffle flavour with the rich vanilla cream ice cream. A nice cafe also have cakes available, great place for dessert. Need to visit so I can try everything! #frugiidessertLAB #Frugii @asianfoodninja #asianfoodninja

Grease Monkey is a casual dining spot known for its burgers, fried chicken, and American-style pizza. The menu features a variety of comfort food options such as cocktails and milkshakes. Customers have enjoyed the generous portions of burgers with fresh buns and crispy Portobello mushrooms. The eatery also offers promotions like 'tight Tuesdays' where patrons can enjoy a free drink with their burger orders.
First time in Australia, loving the city layout and places to go. Grease Monkey is right near our hotel and a perfect choice for a group setting. I enjoyed the full range of beer on tap and a couple of their sandwiches. Looking for a burger? Perfect place, I also had this Philly cheese Steak. Not quite like the United States but still good. I also recommend the pizza place next store. It’s funny, I traveled half way around tfw world and found Detroit style pizza. Never had it before. It was good but I’m from Chicago. 😉 Highly recommend these establishments. A+
Kurt S — Google review
Absolutely delicious! The Detroit-style pizza was perfectly crispy on the edges and loaded with flavor — one of the best I’ve had. The mac and cheese bites were golden, creamy, and addictive — a must-try! On top of that, the customer service was exceptional. Friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

Had heard sooo much about this place and their pizzas and finally made a visit here through EatClub! Found the options fairly limited for vegetarians, but realised you could customise any pizza to a vegetarian one so that was cool!🤩 The ambience is super nice and we came here around 3pm (off peak hours perhaps) so it was super quiet with only us at the restaurant haha. They also have really nice heaters across so it was super comfy and cosy dining here :) We got loaded fries which were lightly seasoned (loved that hehe) and I got a continental pizza slice. The slices by itself are very filling so would recommend getting the slice itself if you’re ordering for 1 pax. It’s very cheesy and frankly kinda heavy HAHA and even though we were quite hungry, some of us weren’t able to finish it xD For its price and quality of pizzas + cosy ambience, I’d definitely say Grease Money is worth a visit with friends! :D

Great spot. Pizza slice is a good size so don’t be put off by the name. The wings are spicy. They also play the footy here.

Detroit style pizza as a late lunch/ early dinner. Nice and fluffy base and topping were a great combo. Also had 50c wings (lingering heat) & chips - well seasoned (not pictured as demolished by the family) Lots of food deals which are great value! Truffle Mac and cheese bites are super truffle flavoured and cheesy which were also good Good beer selection and nice place to sit and watch footy or nrl with tunes in the background

Fantastic experience. Supreme pizza was amazing. Very different to other pizzas and very flavourful. We added jalapeños. Smash burger meal was huge. Milk bun was delicious.
JACINTA P — Google review
Visited GM in Braddon last night and got the 'Greasy' Burger with the side of chips and a drink. The food arrived to the table pretty quickly and was warm. However, my Burger was raw in the middle (a close inspection showed it was raw in some areas of the patty and other areas were cooked through). I took one bite and that was it for the Burger. Couldn't be bothered to take it up to the counter and make a fuss infront of everyone. Pretty disappointing to spend $26 for a meal when the main item was inedible.
T M — Google review
The portion sizes and quality of the food were good, though foods were a bit fatty and greasy. The fries served on the side were generous, but some items, like the sauce on the supreme pizza, felt a bit overdone. The restaurant was fully booked on Friday night, making it hard to find good seating, especially for large groups and families.

Located in Bailey's Arcade on London Circuit, Guild Board Game Restaurant offers a unique dining experience. On Tuesdays, they have a "2 for 1" pizza deal and on other nights, you can enjoy delicious $12 Chicken Schnitzel meals. While the food is above average, the main draw of this place is the atmosphere and games. The staff are knowledgeable about the games and provide excellent recommendations. Additionally, they make bill splitting easy.
Awesome place! Our family enjoyed it. Lot. We played some board games, that are well maintained, and there's a lot of variety to choose from. The food was good, the kids loved the kids menu with ice cream. The staff are very nice, helpful and make you feel like home from the start. We highly recommend it.
Adi F — Google review
The food is fine, it isn't unbelievable, but it is better than average. But, you don't go for the food. You go for the games and atmosphere. There is music playing, but it is quiet, so you can still hold a conversation without yelling, and the games are great. The staff are gamers who just happen to occasionally bring food over. They take time to explain them and make recommendations. The other thing that is awesome is the way they manage bill splitting. They'll gladly give each person at a table a seat number for orders, at the end of the night just give them your seat number and you pay for your food. It's brilliant for groups.

We went there as a family. It was amazing. The owner came over with a bowl of chips the minute we sat down for our toddler. The food was great. It had a great vibe for a date night. Tonnes of board games. Costs $3 per game. The Nutella calzone for desert was also a winner. But get there early as it did shut at like 9pm on a Sat.

Gelato Messina Braddon is a popular gelato shop known for its trendy decor and over 40 creative flavors, as well as thickshakes. Visitors have praised the outstanding service, particularly in catering to specific dietary requirements such as gluten-free options. The gelatos are described as exceptionally delicious, with favorites including lighter tasting options like pistachio. While some find the music too loud, the efficient service and great pricing make it a worthwhile visit.
My favorite ice cream place in Canberra! My ultimate favorite is the “cone-ception” served on a cone (not a cup). We went here on a Saturday night, around dinner time and it queued until outside, but it was quite a quick wait. Love the whole vibe & ambience of the place, I’ve been here 5 times in less than 3 months.
Zahra Z — Google review
Really really good, just don’t think of your diet and splurge once in a while! There were only 30 people in front of us at 9:30pm, fortunately they had 3 counter staff keen to keep things moving. No problems with sampling a few gelatos and sorbets before finalising your splurge. Limited seating outside. Service friendly and quick.

Messina Canberra delivers the same top-notch ice cream experience you’d expect, with plenty of flavours and a lively atmosphere. It’s clearly a local favourite and a busy spot to grab a sweet treat. 🍦 The ice cream is classic Messina — excellent quality with a wide range of flavours to choose from. Portions are generous and live up to their reputation for consistency. 😀 Staff are outstanding. Even with a long line, they stayed friendly and made sure everyone had the best experience possible. 🏠 The shop was buzzing on a weeknight, with a queue out the door. Despite the wait, the atmosphere was fun and social, making it a good place to meet up with friends. A great spot for ice cream in Canberra — I’d happily come back whenever I’m in the area.

Great ice-cream shop in the middle of Braddon with great, cold ice-cream, weekly specials in a modern-style wood shop with plenty of options, friendly staff, late hours, and near plenty of restaurants for some after-dinner dessert. Definitely way better ice-cream than most ice-cream shops in Canberra.

Great choice for any ice cream lover! Broad choice of flavors which weekend specials. Takeaway boxes and online delivery options available if you don’t feel like sitting around and want to enjoy it later or at home.

This was the first time I came to Messina. I chose the Pandan Coconut sorbet and Musk (weekly special) OMG love the pandan coconut best!!! It’s not too sweet and perfect combination of two flavour. At first the musk flavor is novelty. For me it’s taste like rose🌹. But the aftertaste will have a smell of spices (maybe that’s the taste of musk). Also not too sweet and that’s important to me. The cone is crispy and full of egg fragrance😋. By the way the customer service is good and friendly. The staff helped me finish tasting. But when I finished my order, the staff asked me something but i didn’t get it (spoke so fast that I couldn’t catch it at first 😢). Looking forward to coming next time (maybe Tiramisu or coconut lychee 😋)

So we wait a solid 20 minutes to get served by someone with what what must be the weakest arm behind the counter. The tiniest little scoops came out. It's the most miserable serving we've ever had at Messina.. what the hell!!?? $34 for 4 tiny ice creams. You guys used to be the absolute best. What happened?? This is a protest 1-star review. Don't be stingey with your customers.. or you'll find your queue getting a lot shorter.

Visitors can enjoy the extensive displays of flowering bulbs, artistic sculptures, and entertainment events. Whether it's a leisurely walk along the lake shores or a picnic on the grassy spots, Commonwealth Park provides a delightful experience for all ages.
The park feels so serene. It’s surrounded by tall trees so there’s always shade even though the sun is scorching hot. There’s animal sculpture around this park, look out for flamingos and kangaroos! (if you can spot them).

Lisakieran M — Google review
Visited for Floriade in 2025. A lovely park and venue with a few water bodies. Road works taking place nearby are a nightmare for pedestrians or drivers (especially uber) when trying to get back into the city though, so if walking, be sure to choose an easily accessible exit (ie. Not Regatta Place). If staying at A for Adina hotel, it's an easy walk to the park and over the footbridge instead, and there is a carpark nearby (though it is always busy during workdays due to offices nearby). Speaking with one of the landscapers at Floriade, it does sound like the park is almost always under some sort of renovation or refurbished for various events, so may not always be accessible to the public.
MizFitz — Google review
Floriade is worth visiting if you haven't been before. There is a variety of types of flowers but most are tulips in a multitude of colours. Several car parks within 500m walk, cost is under $10 for the day. If you can't park onsite there are more carparks across the road. Take a hat and try to avoid the crowds by going during the week. There are many food trucks available, think of a floral version of the Easter Show.

Gather Cafe is a modern cafe with comfortable seating, good food and efficient service. It's a nice escape from the gritty streets of Braddon, and the coffee is some of the best in the area. The cafe has hanging plants and decor that is attractive, as well as outdoor seating in warmer weather.
Gather Café is a well-kept favourite in Braddon, tucked away on Mort Street away from the bustle of Lonsdale Street. It has a calm, relaxed vibe which makes it perfect for a peaceful brunch or coffee catch-up. The menu focuses on locally sourced, sustainable produce—and you can really taste the difference. We ordered the Gather Smavocado, the Duck Salad, and the Crumpets with Eggs, and everything was delicious. But the surprise favourite for me was the crumpets—so simple but absolutely perfect. I think I’ve found my new favourite breakfast! Although, I think I need to go back and try the Dragonfruit Bowl to compare. The coffee was really nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s always a bonus when the service matches the quality of the food. The café itself is beautifully designed—modern and airy with lots of natural light and attention to detail in the decor. It’s a space that makes you want to linger. It has dog friendly tables outside. The outside tables are Wheelchair accessible however I can’t attest to how accessible inside. There is car parking nearby for a fee or you can easily walk here from the city centre. It is also located close to local hotels. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in Braddon and after something a little quieter.

August 2024 I don't understand why this place have such a high google rating. My partner and I went here for breakfast on a Saturday. Luckily we got seated quickly despite having no bookings. Coffee order came quickly. The coffee was good. It took them forever to come back to get our food order. And the food took a long time to come out. The food description sounded nice, the food looked pretty, but the serving was so small and tasteless. We paid over $90 for breakfast for two. That included 10% weekend surcharge. What a total rip off. Trying to be uparket, but it didn't meet the mark.
Charisma M — Google review
Used to be one of my favourites but today's visit turns very disappointing. The first pic is the Quesadilla I had about one year ago, and now it is like the second pic - very thin fillings with just canned beans and corns and the dip sauces have nothing to do with salsa and sour cream as on the menu. The pineapple (p4) looks more like some sort of fungi I definitely won't eat that! Then the add on smoked trout also does not smell nice - you can tell by its colour... 75 dollars to ruin my own Saturday. Thanks for that. Will never be there again👎
Centrelink M — Google review
Very nice, definitely one to try if you're in the area. Steak and eggs were lovely. Mushrooms on toast were great but a lot of kale to eat in one sitting! Coffee is pretty good too
Kevin C — Google review
Great cafe with amazing Avo Toast and coffee to its perfection. Service needs a little more courtsey because (1) Our TA coffee was served 20 minutes before TA food which made coffee cold. Apology is how far it went. (2) 2nd day we went with full family of 7 but despite full table available was asked to seat outside. We ended up doing TA coffee only. And kids ended up playing on walkway while waiting so didnt end too bad.
Bhavin T — Google review
Had a really delicious coffee this morning and was tempted into purchasing of one of their amazing looking muffins - white chocolate and raspberry. However other than the very top layer (which had only two) there are no raspberries and extremely minimal chocolate in the rest of the muffin. Dry and disappointing for $6.50. As appetising as they look in the cabinet I won’t be coming back to try any other flavours.
Hannah O — Google review
I don’t write reviews often, in fact this is the first time I’ve written one. But I felt it was worth the feedback. Waffles were very disappointing. Dry as cardboard, an almost nonexistent scoop of compote and ice cream in proportion to the waffles size. Strawberries were a bit past their prime, one was brown. And looks like a box of cereal has been poured on top, which wasn’t noted on the menu. Sticky chai was way overly sweet, everything tasted like it has excess sugar.
Sarah B — Google review
All style, no substance - great atmosphere, trendy interior. Unfortunately the food on offer did not live up to the decor. We ordered Turkish eggs, a cheese and tomato croissant, mud cake and two coffees. The Turkish eggs were good. Coffee not bad. Croissant was served warm but cheese not fully melted. Mudcake was very dry, bordering on stale. Queried with staff, they agreed it was not up to scratch and removed from bill. $50 for the rest and can't say I would be willing to spend again. Staff were very nice though and the place had good vibes.

Roundabout at the end of route for pickup/drop offs. • fully fenced • Multiple footpaths with footpath going round the whole playground. • multiple seating spots scattered Aero glider (wheelchair accessible) is back up and functional! Due to recent windy weather 1 of the shade sails has broken, was removed and the area sectioned off until the replacement sail arrives and is fitted back on. This has blocked out the larger grass area as well for picnics and games. Overall the playground is still fun and inviting , will require more maintenance in the new future as the wooden play structure is showing signs of wear and tear which is expected due to high volume of visitors. • water play (turned off in winter) • large accessible play structure • musical sensory garden • sandpit area • swing set area • large slide on own hill slope • garden adventures + obstacles • grass picnic areas • water play wheel + stone river

Incredible children’s playground located just near Lake Burley Griffin! The park itself is well presented with great facilities including a public toilet with baby change facilities. The playground facilities have been setup to be disability friendly with many of the playground items accessible from wheel chairs. There is a large sandpit with toy digging equipment, swims and a large climbing play set. There is plenty of chairs with shade covers and BBQ facilities nearby if you want to make a day of it. The park is surrounded by a fence system which makes it safe for your children running a little crazy as well! A consideration is parking which can fill up pretty quickly.

Awesome place for kids to play. Half the playground has shade cloths. A big variety of play areas from water gums, slides, swings and climbing house. Has toilet and baby facilities. Pram friendly. We spent more time here than expected despite being a hot summer's day at 35 degrees.

Lennox Gardens, located on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, offers a picturesque setting for picnics and leisure activities. Visitors can enjoy a pleasant walk to Beijing Gardens and Nara Peace Park, making it an ideal spot to visit during the autumn or spring seasons. The gardens provide various attractions such as interesting sculptures and plantings, although there is a lack of botanical labels.
Went for a stroll here. One side has water views of the city, walk along paved footpath or grass. Very relaxing walk. Small parking area (paid) with public toilets.

Beware of dog poo on grass, there is a lot of them! Pleasant view overlooking the lake. Mediocre gardens The Japanese and Beijing garden was looking kinda sad and deserted, like someone just dropped a few themed items in the park. Not recommended. Overlooking the lake on a quiet day is peaceful, can walk and stroll along the lake front. Great for morning exercise.

As a wedding photographer, I’m always on the lookout for fantastic outdoor wedding locations, and Lennox Gardens is a brilliant one! The open lawns, stunning lake views, and surrounding trees made every photo unforgettable. It’s perfect for couples after a relaxed, romantic spot to enjoy a private ceremony with their loved ones. We had great weather, and capturing photos of the venue and the couple was an absolute dream! I highly recommend Lennox Gardens if you’re looking for a charming spot with the perfect laid-back outdoor vibes.

Lush, spacious, and lots of shade. Ideal for picnics and easygoing walks. Can get very windy at times, being on the lake, but otherwise a picturesque and pleasant place to find a spot, sit back, and soak in some nature and friendship. The Chinese garden area is nice to wander through. The European trees and big open lake views are the big drawcards.

Beautiful gardens with huge place for family picnic. We were there last week and the Cherry blossoms were in season. Beautiful architecture as well.

Not your average type of park 😃. It offers a lot of variety to do such as picnic, stroll around the lake , immerse yourself in the Chinese garden area, or play with your kids or pets. Very clean and well maintained and there are lots of spaces for cars.

It is a beautiful location to have a picnic and a kick of the football. The short walk to Beijing Gardens and Nara Peace Park makes it even more stunning. A highlight for autumn or spring seasons. Lack of disabled parking is a challenge. There was a lots of off road pushing in a wheelchair. If you don't have anyone to push you it might be difficult to get to all places.

Ferry Gate, Floriade is a month-long flower festival in Australia that showcases over one million bulbs planted in beautiful garden beds, creating stunning displays of color. The event offers gardening demonstrations by experts and also features evening concerts, movies, and dance parties among the flowers. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant tulip blooms during the spring season and appreciate the smooth organization and excellent presentation of the festival.
It was my first time visiting Floriade, and we came all the way from Sydney with the kids. We absolutely loved the experience! The atmosphere was fantastic, the crowd was lovely, and the flowers were beautiful and so appealing. It’s a great way to spend 4–5 hours with family. The kids especially enjoyed the activities like the big Ferris wheel and flying elephants. They were very eager to try the train ride as well, but unfortunately, we couldn’t fit it in this time. Parking can be a bit challenging on weekends, but with a little patience, you’ll find a spot. There’s also a wide range of eateries, offering plenty of choices at affordable prices. Overall, our experience was amazing, and we can’t wait to come back again

I travelled from Sydney to Canberra with my wife and our 24-year-old son — an effortless and fun Tesla drive all the way. We visited the Floriade Festival held in late September — an absolutely delightful, free event (apart from parking at the lot we chose). The gardens were bursting with colour — tulips, daffodils, and countless other blooms beautifully arranged. There were plenty of shaded spots to unwind, along with food stalls, live entertainment, and fun activities scattered throughout the park. You can easily explore all the floral displays in less than an hour, but it’s worth spending a few extra hours soaking in the cheerful atmosphere and everything else happening around.
Narendra B — Google review
Visited Floriade in Canberra for the very first time and it honestly took my breath away. The presentation was stunning – the flowers were all in full bloom, creating such a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere. On top of that, the live bands were fantastic and added a really fun vibe to the day. It was the perfect mix of music, colour, and sunshine – such a wonderful day out and definitely worth the visit. 🌸🎶

We joined the NightFest and it was pretty amazing. The night music and various stalls were busy but the queues moved along smoothly. I did wish there were more trash cans as I saw a lot of cotton candy decorations thrown on the ground. Also need more toilets for such a large park area. Some of the musical areas had the bass way too loud so we had to quickly move away as my wife was sensitive to these loud areas. I'm surprised the elderly haven't fallen over the electrical cables that their mobility scooters run over. It's an overall amazing exhibit. The colours pop and the shops are cool! I'd go here in the daytime next.

Floriade in Canberra is one of Australia’s most beautiful and vibrant festivals, and it truly lives up to its reputation as a celebration of spring. Set in the heart of Commonwealth Park, the entire area transforms into a sea of color — millions of tulips, daffodils, and other blooms arranged in stunning patterns that are a treat for the eyes and the camera alike. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the scent of fresh flowers and the cheerful buzz of people enjoying the season. What makes Floriade so special is that it’s not just about flowers — it’s a complete experience. There are art installations, live music, pop-up markets, and food stalls offering everything from gourmet coffee to local treats. The atmosphere is festive yet relaxing, making it a perfect outing for families, couples, and anyone who loves nature and creativity. The layout of the gardens is impressive — each section feels thoughtfully designed, often reflecting a theme or story. You can easily spend hours strolling around, taking photos, and discovering hidden corners filled with unique floral displays. For those who visit in the evening, the “Floriade NightFest” adds another layer of magic, with the gardens lit up beautifully and live entertainment creating a warm, lively vibe. Another great thing is that Floriade is free to enter, which makes it accessible for everyone. It’s also very family-friendly, with plenty of open space for kids to run around and enjoy the activities. Floriade is more than just a flower show — it’s a joyful celebration of spring, creativity, and community. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it’s an event that will leave you smiling, inspired, and maybe a little in love with Canberra’s natural beauty.

Displays of tulips, poppies, and various other flowers spread in a large area. It’s more like a festival containing food carts, fun rides, a free art gallery, paining gnomes, cute little shops selling interesting stuffs, live music, and so much more! If you are in Canberra around September - October, you must not miss it. Do take a walk around Lake Burley Griffin nearby!
Nafisa N — Google review
If you’re into flowers it’s a must to visit so beautifully designed. Free entry. Lots of area to view, you don’t feel the crowds as very spread out. If your a early riser you can do it as a day trip from Sydney or there are plenty of hotels to choose from in all price ranges.

The Captain Cook Memorial Jet, erected in 1970 to commemorate the bicentenary of James Cook's arrival, is a prominent feature near Regatta Point. This iconic water column can be seen from various spots around Lake Burley Griffin and is particularly striking when illuminated. Visitors can enjoy picnics on the surrounding grassy areas and even rent paddle boats for a fun day out with family and friends.
An interesting sight to see when the jets are on. Honestly I do not know when the jet turns on, we got lucky when we were passing by it one afternoon. Some say it only turns on for 1-hour per day, but this one went on longer than that.
Zahra Z — Google review
A 5 km walk around Lake Burley Griffin will take you past the Captain Cook memorial jet which operates from 11.00am to 2.00pm each day. When it's windy you're bound to get a little wet from the spray so make sure you're wearing a jacket if you do the walk in winter as it gets quite chilly 🥶 A great spot to take photos.

Very iconic memorial jet within Lake Burley Griffin between 10:00 and 14:00. Viewable from most areas around the lake, with some of the best spots being just a short walk from the nearby car park. The jet is sometimes lit up, and depending how windy it is, you may get some of the spray. Lots of grass area around this part of the lake and great for picnics with views of the jet.

The Cupping Room in Canberra is a trendy café with a relaxed atmosphere and outdoor seating. It's known for its specialty coffee beans from ONA, the city's largest roaster. The café's name comes from the cupping process used to judge coffee bean quality. They offer award-winning flat whites and a menu featuring elevated brunch classics like blood orange-cured salmon, kombu confit mushrooms, and guacamole-spiked bacon and egg roll.
Known as one of the best cafes in Canberra. Great atmosphere and unique food. Coffee was smooth but a bit cold. I wish it was warmer. Staff were friendly. I don't know if it's the best, but I agree that it's one of the best. There may be a few joint first place winners though 😀

Visited The Cupping Room in late August and tried the French Toast and Chorizo Benedict to share between two people—both dishes were absolutely amazing. If you're a fan of cinnamon and soft, chewy bread, the French Toast is a must-try. It’s rich and indulgent, so it might be a bit much for one person, but perfect for sharing. The Chorizo Benedict was the standout—every element on the plate worked perfectly together. Such a flavorful and well-balanced dish. Would definitely come back for this one!

Checked out Cupping Room Canberra after a friend’s recommendation — the cafe was packed when we arrived, so expectations were high We tried the duck leg cold egg noodle salad, which was decent Also got a side of scrambled eggs and bacon… and sadly, that’s where it all went downhill They served it all lumped together, with bacon oil flooding into the eggs — it ended up more like oily foam than scrambled eggs Worse was the service — cutlery and plates were basically thrown at us, no care or warmth at all We let them know the eggs were too oily to eat and even asked for napkins to blot some of it out They didn’t care, didn’t help, and offered nothing Really disappointing experience Unfortunately, we won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend

⭐ 1/5 – I Wish I Could Give Zero Stars This was one of the worst café experiences I’ve had in Canberra. I went here based on strong recommendations, but it was an absolute letdown from the start. The layout is confusing, with two entrances and no clear direction—no staff at either door to greet or help, just chaos. We sat outside and were told to order through an app. While that’s not uncommon, the app was frustrating and not user-friendly, especially when trying to order simple sides. My long black came out with some strange foam on top and tasted burnt and bitter. Things got worse when my bacon and eggs arrived—it looked more like a bowl of soup than breakfast. The dish was extremely oily, unappetising, and the eggs tasted like they were pre-packed or powdered—not fresh at all. On top of everything, the prices were far too high for the poor quality of food and service. I would love to give this café zero stars, but unfortunately, one is the lowest I can give on this app. I won’t be returning.

T is a contemporary and laid-back bar in Canberra, Australia, known for its extensive selection of over 230 types of gin. The bar prides itself on offering a relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, and an opportunity to expand one's knowledge of different varieties of gin without intimidation. In addition to their impressive array of gins, T also offers modern sharing plates and vegan dishes. It is considered one of the best cocktail bars in the area, providing both classic and innovative cocktails in a vibrant setting.
A beautiful gin bar and restaurant. The gin list was very very extensive… but you have fantastic servers who are able to remember them all and recommend certain flavours to suit your taste. Who knew there were so many combinations to be had from floral to fruity to peppery? The experience of mixing your own deconstructed gin, botanicals and tonics was such a fun! And it was quite amazing how tweaking one aspect changes the flavours. Highly highly recommended for gin lovers out there. The food was pretty good too - my favourite was the lamb which was so soft and delicious. The place itself was beautiful and perfect for a nice night out with friends or a date. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors is quite noisy because it’s next to another bar with live music but indoors is more quiet for conversations. If you sit near the bar, you can admire the beautiful cocktails they produce. Great place! Must return to try more gin flavours…

Famous for its selection of Gin… but we just came for the delicious Tapas! This has an easy and breezy atmosphere, a good place for a date night or dinner with friends/colleagues. Not really like Spanish tapas - which are normally smaller portions and more bite sized (so you can have a greater selection), but a good local adaptation. Recommended!

Creative cocktails We went here for cocktails and small plates of food before we went to dinner. Sat inside there is outdoor dining. Food excellent and cocktails lots of choices mostly gin. Sourdough bread next level. The restaurant is sophisticated and the atmosphere nice. Good place for a date lots of tables for two. Courtyard better for groups. It would have rated higher but the staff are really pushy on drinks and food, interruption conversations. A few staff came to our table with the same questions about more drinks but was still drinking our first cocktail. It made it uncomfortable. In my view there were too many staff on duty that night. Overall a good place and big carpark not far away. Love from your local guide- M❤️ Useful please like or follow me

Perfect customer service. Waiters knowledgeable, friendly and approachable but not overbearing, a fine art. Food was delicious and everything was beautifully presented. Even tailored the courses and how they brought out the dishes based on what we ordered. Felt like dining from a set menu there was so much thought behind which dish to bring next. The extensive gin menu was a delight to explore and the waiter was helpful in tailoring ones choice. Would definitely return again and again. A must visit.

Talk about a gem. I'd never heard of Tipsy Bull before but I can see it quickly becoming one of my favourite places for a night out. From the gin boards to the AMAZING food coming out of the kitchen, the entire experience from start to finish is amazing. Located at the city end of Lonsdale Street next to Hopscotch, Tipsy Bull is so much better than its location and name suggests. Food is share plates, and the menu choices range from oysters, calamari and truffle fries right up to main meals of snapper, chicken and risotto. Serves are bigger than expected and the food was superb. But the real star here is the gin experience – they have 230 on offer and each gin comes on a paddle loaded with ice, botanicals, tonic and instructions for how to build your perfect drink. If the list overwhelms, the staff here know all about the gins and will quickly direct you to your perfect tipple.

CBD Dumpling House is a popular Asian restaurant located near the Canberra Centre, featuring an industrial-style setting with viewing windows for diners to watch the chefs prepare dumplings. The restaurant offers a casual dining experience and is particularly favored by local office workers due to its quick service and delicious dumplings. In addition to a wide variety of pan-fried and boiled dumplings, CBD Dumpling House also serves other tasty dishes, making it a great option for those looking for simple and fresh Chinese cuisine.
Update: We came back for dinner tonight and wow the place is busy. I queued for a bit but it was fast moving. Our food came out in no time and all were just delicious and fresh! Thank you guys! We ordered two boiled mix dumplings, beef brisket in brown sauce, fish fillet with ginger and shallot, chinese broccoli in garlic sauce and plain rice. The dumplings were delicious and we will return to have these again. All the other dishes were also amazing and have no fault, not greasy and not salty so we're very happy. The food came out in no time and really friendly service. We didn't finish our food because there's plenty of it for two people, and we were able to ask for takeaway boxes. Went back twice in 2 days. Just for their black bean sauce dishes. Chicken in black bean sauce is to die for. Other good dishes were chili basil fried rice, Singapore noodles, beef in black bean sauce, chicken dumplings and chili basil rice noodles. Schwann chicken was not good and had more onions than chicken. However overall, A must visit. Also it does get very crowded and both times we had to do takeaway instead of getting tables. We were a group of 10 people.

A favorite place for quick, tasty dumplings plus more. Duck pancakes, juicy duck pieces. Such a simple dish, but always a winner. Hot & sour soup, with the chilli to vinegar balance just right. The Special Dumplings, 10 pieces, are consistently delicious. Create your own sauce mix from the condiments box. Duck spring rolls with whole pieces of filling, rather than minced, would’ve got a repeat order if I wasn’t full.

Extremely fast service, however quality food. Atmosphere is overwhelming, loud, and busy. They stole my Sprite. Can’t a man enjoy his $4 Sprite? Very disappointed by staff. I saw a woman have a Stanley drink bottle. Due to the rush, I wasn’t able to get my $4 Sprite back. I hope the restaurant does better to improve their standards for drinks. Also saw staff member putting spoons in trays and touching the ends of the spoons with bare hands. Almost slipped on floor. Work Health and Safety. (Drink in picture was not stolen by staff).

Nestled in Canberra, Močan & Green Grout is a trendy and retro-chic spot known for its inventive meals prepared in an open kitchen and fair-trade espresso. The place is popular for its Instagram-worthy banana bread and spicy bacon-and-egg roll. The restaurant's cozy interior features warm wood panels and hand-glazed tiles, with a pretty miniature garden area outside. Despite the small kitchen, the menu caters to various dietary needs, focusing on local produce and veg-heavy dishes.
Močan & Green Grout is one of those cozy little gems that makes you forget you’re right in the middle of a city. Yes, there’s some construction happening outside, but once you step inside, you barely notice. The atmosphere is warm and eclectic, with rustic shelves filled with woven baskets, pottery, and greenery. The hanging lights made from upcycled bottles are a clever touch, and the mix of wood, leather, and plants gives the whole space a laid-back but stylish vibe. The staff were friendly and the whole experience felt personal, not rushed. If you’re after great coffee and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go. Highly recommend.

Great coffee and very homely space. The coffee is a little on the lighter side so knowing this I adjusted my order and the second coffee was just right. I love the decor and with a kitchen in the middle it feels like your right at home.

This small and compact cafe is quite unique with a see through and open island kitchen. The cafe serves a wide variety of food and drink which are of good standard. I would recommend the bacon and egg roll for a breakfast to brunch meal. The staff are also kind however the food takes longer to make.

Amazing place! We had the chickpea shakshuka and the salmon avocado roll, followed by the iced matcha, iced chocolate, carrot cake and cheesecake! All the food was superb!!!! Lovely pallete and sophisticated textures - I liked how the desserts weren't overly sweet as in other Australian cafés

We stumbled across this fantastic little place looking for somewhere for a healthy bite to eat for lunch… oh what a find! We both chose the Smoked Trout and Barley salad… and it was ahmayzing!!! The staff are relaxedly friendly and create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere to enjoy the thoughtfully prepared food on offer. Well worth a visit.

Food was absolutely amazing. I had a salad and the bacon/egg roll, both were delicious. The atmosphere is really lovely. Service was quite slow even though the place was quiet, with a few staff wandering around not doing much while I was waiting to order etc.

My favourite breakfast spot. Love the food, service and atmosphere. It’s a cute little restaurant, with the kitchen in the middle, where you can see the chefs. This creates a really cool atmosphere and you can see how clean everything is. Highly recommend!

Pan-Asian restaurant
Lazy Su is a funky Pan-Asian restaurant that offers a blend of Korean, Japanese, and American cuisine. The restaurant's design and menu reflect a casual yet stylish dining experience with retro chic decor and an extensive menu featuring small plates, bao burgers, raw bar options, and hearty homestyle mains. Located on the lively Lonsdale Street strip, Lazy Su has mastered the art of American-Japanese-Korean retro restaurant culture.
I’m from Melbourne and Lazy Sue’s is a place I frequent when I’m in town. Absolutely love my experience at this beautiful Asian fusion restaurant! The atmosphere is vibrant yet welcoming — stylish decor with just the right touch of modern. The service was attentive and friendly without ever feeling rushed. Every dish I tried was bursting with fresh, bold flavours — creative takes on classic dishes that still felt authentic and comforting like the cheeseburger spring rolls! Another favourite is the roast chicken ☺️ You can tell a lot of care goes into every plate. It’s clear why this spot is so popular! A perfect place for a special occasion. We’ll definitely be back when I’m in Canberra and definitely recommend!

We ordered the $65 set menu on Monday night. The staff who helped us to order the food gave us a really good drink recommendation. The drinks would be the reason for me to come back. The food is average, the bbq pork is abit dry in the bao dish, the cheeseburger spring roll is always good.

Thoroughly enjoyable Asian Fusian restaurant. Never disappoints with a buzzing vibe. We arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was quiet but within an hour was full. Highly recommended for the food, service and vibe. The restaurant is located in Braddon which is busy Fridays and Saturdays so allow time for parking. Book well in advance.

Excellent dinner at Lazy Su. Friendly staff, quick service, very cool vibe. The cheesesteak spring roll, and the bacon and prawn wontons we both delicious. But for me the unexpected highlight were the miso carrots - bite sized, tempura fried carrot with miso and honey. Yum!

Love the vibe! The lady let us sit in the normal table, but we ask to move to the one facing the road and we love it. We ordered couple of entree, small plates, large plates and both the desserts. We love everything, especially the entree!! Mushroom ssam, donburi nori taco and the yakimeshi fried rice are our fav! Will be back to try another dishes 🤌🤌🤌

We had dinner at Lazy Su in Canberra and absolutely loved it. We didn’t have a booking, but the staff was super friendly and found us a table right away. We ordered several dishes: broccolini, seafood noodle stir-fry, kingfish sashimi, the Wagyu Cheesesteak Spring Roll, and a few others I can’t even remember because everything was just that good. Next time I’m back in Canberra, this will definitely be one of my go-to places. The food was incredible and the vibe was perfect.

The ever popular Asian fusion spot in Braddon is always busy for good reason! Plentiful drink and cocktail menu, plus lots of variety for food choice. Everything is great here from food to service.

We came to this place at 1:35pm to have lunch. The place was not crowded at all and there were plenty of places to sit. We waited for 10 min at the entrance and nobody came to greet us. I approached the guy at the bar and he said “what do you need?” “We are full now” But clearly there was space for us and more people. He gave us a look that was racist. So we left the place and then walking by a little after, we saw some of the tables that were empty, taken by people. So clearly this was a racist rejection from that guy. Do not come here, not a good option.

Via Dolce is a polished patisserie with marble tables that offers Italian desserts and pizzas. The cafe is very busy, but offers a wide variety of desserts including some that are later in opening hours than other cafes. The portions are decent sized, making it ideal for sharing among friends. Although the cafe is open later than most, service outside is limited to when they bring food to you.
I had some time to kill before my flight so I stopped in here for a sweet treat. I got the Italian hot chocolate which was extremely thick and rich and the pistachio mango cake which was less sweet and balanced out the richness of the hot chocolate. The cabinet full of sweet treats looks delicious and they offer a large selection of wines (unfortunately it was too early to have one). They play classical music which elevates the atmosphere and there’s a gorgeous chandelier on the roof.

Stopped for a quick coffee on way from Perisher. The red velvet and pistachio + mango slices were fantastic. Well balanced and not too sweet or overpowering. Definitely recommend it to anyone driving through and wanting a quick bite.

Disappointing came here for brunch. The place lacks attention to detail. The young guy sat us & gave us menus & said i will come back to wipe your table he never came back. I went into order our food which was a effort i asked could we have 4 poached eggs with avocado & eggs benedict with a long black & chai latte. I was told that they had ran out of proper cups & it would be served in a take away cup i said thats fine. I had to repeat numeous times the order & even when she read it back still got it wrong. Whist i was in ordering they came to the table & only put 1 lot of cutlery down & walked away. Our drinks were delivered to the table & we received 2 coffees, i had to go in & say i ordered a chai latte not a coffee no apologies or anything. Whilst waiitng we then had to ask for cutlery the guy said not an issue it never came, then we asked again to be told they had a shortage of cutlery but the same guy had just placed cutlery on a table of people who sat down after us, we asked a 3rd time & finally got cutlery (it shoudnt have been that hard). I saw a number of hot drinks coming out in the nice cups not sure why we were the only ones who were seated to get takeaway cups. Our food finally arrived & again was the wrong order it was 2 poached eggs on avacado / toast & another dish not sure what it was we said no wrong order. Eventually we got the eggs Benedict I started eating only 1 egg was poached the other wasnt & after a few minutes the poached eggs came out. This place is disorganised, lacks attention to detail & the staff have a zero care factor. Not worth the price 1 star for service is being generous

Choices galore! Great selection of beautiful desserts and ice cream. Service can be a bit slow when busy. The alfresco area is a delight! Very enjoyable true Parisian looking patisserie (even though it's Italian). Would love to come back.

Atmosphere: Via Dolce felt like a french cafe with amazing beautiful interiors and an open kitchen Food: We had ordered "Mocha" and "Cappuccino" and "Chocolate Sponge cake" for takeaway. The sponge cake was really soft, literally melted in my mouth. They had wide range of dessert options so one should definitely check that out. Service: This place is quite busy and staff was busy as well but they were attentive at the same time. Final Verdict: 10/10 recommend this place for your dessert cravings!

Sweet Bones Bakery and Cafe in Braddon is a unique boutique cafe with a rock 'n' roll aesthetic that specializes in handcrafting organic vegan cakes and breakfast dishes. The cafe offers a fun vibe and an array of delicious treats, along with a full breakfast and lunch menu featuring items like tacos and pancakes. Established by the husband-and-wife team Emily and Russell in 2011, the cafe focuses on locally sourced cruelty-free produce. They also serve Red Brick Espresso coffee, supporting local brands.
Awesome and yummy cafe with delightful breakfast options. The cafe is vegan-ish, they do have milk if you ask for it, absolutely like the concept that you have a choice, don't mind milk alternatives but sometimes I just wanna have an ordinary coffee with normal milk. The dishes are a bit more modern with an alternative touch, not so much going into classical breakfast but that's exactly what I like. Taste awesome, service superb, coffee a charm, our visit a delight. Thanks!

Great vegan menu with lots of variety for sweet and savoury options. The food and coffee is delicious. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and has a very relaxed feel. The cabinet also has lots of tasty treats and take away options. The plant milk being an extra $1 is annoying given that it’s a vegan cafe. I know it’s the standard now but it’s still annoying

Best vegan pancakes I've ever had!!! You don't need to be a vegan to enjoy the food here, my husband took the big breakfast and he really enjoyed the seitan here. The tofu scramble had a very good flavour. The staff are amazing can't wait to come back!

Great vegan cafe with a wide variety of sweet and savoury options. The coffee is quite nice and service is fast. I had the mac and cheeze wrap which I understand is often sold out. It was very tasty and a generous size. It does get a little stuffy if you're sitting indoors in warm weather, and our water glasses were all a little dirty, but otherwise it was a good experience.

Always a pleasure finding a vegan Cafe, so naturally we just had to visit and try the food and coffees. Loved the vibe of the Cafe, food and coffees were delicious. Really enjoyed the big breakfast and my wife loved the roast pumpkin salad - never had pumpkin so sweet before! We also ordered a soy flat white and ice matcha, all were delicious and perfect for a warm sunny day. Would definitely return the next time back in Canberra!

Located near the rainbow roundabout, this Sweet Bones Bakery and cafe bursts a wide vegan menu including an all day breakfast. The stand out items are the Mexican dishes, burgers and the smoothies. A wide selection of cakes, muffins and cookies are also available at the display by the service counter. These are amazingly delicious and sell out quickly. Often customers are purchasing these by the box. The meals are very tasty and the sweets are tantalising and certainly enticing you to have more than one. Brint your meat loving friends along as they'll soon learn how great vegetarian and vegan food can be. Friendly service also. No table service.

Don't go if you are in any way claustrophobic. The seats are overly packed in and are not on enough of a raked floor. There's very little in the way of fresh air too, the production lets some theatrical smoke into the air so the "searchlight beams" can be seen before the show starts. They let people bring in booze so you can smell beer burps. I felt overwhelmed by the closeness of everyone and had to leave just before the show began. It seems like a terribly outdated venue. Before you even go in you can smell the toilets. What a waste of my money.....I really wanted to see 1984 😭

I attended a showing of the Gruffalos Child today with my colleagues and children where I work. Cannot fault the show, the performances were wonderful and was thoroughly enjoyed by children and adults alike. However, the organisation of ushering groups in an appropriate time frame was poor to say the least. We arrived 10 minutes before the show started, but were made to wait 15 -20 minutes with our young children in the foyer. After finally being shown where to enter the theatre, an employee referred to us as a public school when clearly the children were not of school age. To cut my rant short. Please! You know how many groups of children will be attending your theatre. Manage how you receive them, provide courtesy updates if a problem has occurred and remember, young children should not be made to sit and wait as though they were adults. Thank goodness we seasoned Educators have many tricks up our sleeves to keep them entertained!

Visited recently to watch the Air Force Band - Victory in the Pacific 80th Anniversary Concert. It was excellent. The conductor, band, singers and MCs were wonderful. There was a film showing the horror and loss of war and the emotional ending of the war with images of celebrating in the streets. It was a very well done concert. Thank you. I hope peace will happen in many parts of the world.

The staff here were excellent. Let me try an ale before I bought it. Also checked how my wife liked the wine as she hadn't tried it before. My burger was a touch on the dry side but the kids healthy meal which was seasoned chicken and veg was quite nice.

The pizza is an insult to pizza. The base seems to be made wrong or something, it's more like damper or bread. And then the toppings just didn't really work, I think maybe not enough mozzarella. It's quite a lot of money for a small, disappointing pizza. Wedges were good though, a good amount, although not enough sour cream and other condiments.
Joel D — Google review
Nice selection of beers, I haven't tried the food as they don't have vegan options. Service was good and staff friendly. We enjoyed nice European beers on beers on tap.
Simone V — Google review
Solid, but not spectacular. Very friendly and quick service. Plenty of room, it was clean and wheelchair friendly. The bacon and egg roll was tasty, but left me feeling a little unsatisfied and wanting more. The coffee was not cheap yet for the extra 60 cents to upsize to a large, just got you a weaker coffee. I know that Canberra is a public service town, but playing UN speeches, even if it was the Australian Foreign Affairs Minister, on the day of the AFL Grand Final breakfast just a tad out of step with community expectations.

Friendly staff, love the selection of beer, pretty average food. We got buffalo wings and flat head fish and chips. Very generous servings. Wings were just coated in sauce but the meat itself didn’t take on any seasoning. Sauce was not an aioli than blue cheese sauce. Batter on fish was teeth shattering, so crispy the panko and the fries were great!

Great casual fun place on busy food and drink street Lonsdale. Lovely way to spend pre dinner drinks or was it post lunch or both. Nice staff and the Beef nachos were great, chicken wings could have had a lots less chilli sauce.

I’ve come here often for the past 8 years. Tonight has proven it has gone downhill. Firstly the beer was off, the Pilsner Urquell. A beer I’ve been drinking for years tasted completely different and off. I told the bartender, and he admitted it tasted different and blamed it on aged kegs due to covid delays and refused to replace it. Secondly the pizza was severely undercooked as seen on the pictures. Carnivore and vege pizza. The pizza was so different than before and there was no acknowledgement of mistake. It was not cooked, just look at the picture. So disappointed as this was a local but after this service and food quality I wouldn’t recommend.

Awesome animals, but the exit had me questioning my life choices. The zoo itself is well-kept, with a great variety of animals and chill vibes throughout. Had a good time during the day — until it came time to leave. Finding the exit to Car Park 1 was surprisingly tricky. It was getting dark, the zoo was closing, and we were wandering around for over half an hour trying to figure it out. Imagine it’s winter, 5pm, barely any light, and you’re lost in a zoo with lions casually roaring in the distance. Not ideal. Loved the animals, but better signage would’ve saved us some stress

The National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra is hands down one of the best zoos I’ve been to in Australia! The zoo is huge with an incredible range of animals, and what made it even better was the number of opportunities to get up close and interact with them. We went in with no expectations (it was a last-minute decision), but it turned out to be one of the best choices we made on our trip to Canberra. I can’t recommend it highly enough! 💡 Tip: Start your visit from car park 1 or 4 and loop around the zoo at a steady pace. We made the mistake of starting at car park 2, got a little lost trying to find the aquarium, and found it tricky to navigate at first. All in all, an amazing experience and a must-visit when in Canberra!

This large zoo and aquarium is popular with ACT folk and tourists. It is located on 25 hectares of land and near Canberra. It is privately owned and hence entry fees are on the higher side. It is nevertheless a good place to visit and we found that the guide map with numbered exhibits was particularly useful as you may miss out on an exhibit otherwise. Fair bit of walking around though some spots are under shade. The terrain can be uneven. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Toilets available. Cafes and restaurants available around the zoo. Lovely place for picnic. Parking is easy and plentiful though can be crowded at peak times. Best to go there early to avoid the heat and crowds. The aquarium has nice exhibits too and it popular with children. Great place for photography. Takes about 2 to 3 hours overall to visit

Loved it. I went here as a kid many years ago when they were first starting up and was very disappointed. They have absolutely exceeded my expectations this time. We spent 4 hours here with the kids. Lots of animals to see. Lots of different viewing platforms so you are assured of seeing the animals. We saw several animals being fed which was great as they were up closer. The playground is massive and many options for kids of different ages. I also loved all the zoo Art and interactive features along the way.

We recently visited Commonwealth Park in Canberra during October spring, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The park was bursting with colorful, blooming flowers, creating a vibrant and picturesque setting that felt like walking through a living painting. The floral arrangements were beautifully designed, showcasing a wide variety of flowers in full bloom. The combination of colors, patterns, and landscaping made it a perfect spot for photography and simply soaking in the natural beauty. The atmosphere was calm and refreshing, with plenty of open spaces for kids to run around, making it a family-friendly destination. We saw many families enjoying picnics, children playing, and people strolling along the well-maintained paths. The park’s layout is very well thought out, with benches, shaded areas, and clear walkways, which makes it accessible and comfortable for visitors of all ages. October is definitely one of the best times to visit, as the spring season brings out the very best of the park’s gardens. It’s also a great spot for a peaceful walk, relaxing by the lake, or just spending quality time outdoors. Commonwealth Park is truly a gem in Canberra, offering natural beauty and a welcoming environment for everyone.

Commonwealth Park is such a wonderful location in Canberra. It is particularly nice at the moment due to Floriade and everything being so nicely arranged. There are many other events and there is a nice balance between nature, flowers and room to explore. Visited Floriade. Flowers beautiful, many different activities and performances. Popular free event. They only downside I will note is there seemed to be a smell of petrol or something in quite a few areas. Not sure if it's because of power generators or the mini train doing its loops. Felt a bit nauseous as to me it was quite strong.

Highly recommend attending in the morning getting a coffee, a pastry or crape, the. Sit and enjoy one of the many great places to sit and soak it all in. Plenty to do in the area. We only spent a couple of hours here. We could easily have spent the day, and we will at some future time. The displays are varied and interesting. I recommend going to the visitors centre 1st and collect a free map. The staff are friendly ans helpful. I particularly liked the red centre display.

Great gardens lots of birds and interesting plants & landscapes from around Australia . To see the entire area all day stay would be best. Parking cost $17 all day so the gardens are free but get money from the parking fees so the gardens are not actually free unless you know some were to park. Most of the walking Is easy and some wheelchair accessible for part of the park ,there are some steep walks away from the main fern gulls and out back zone .The gardens are great quiet place to unwind from a hectic day/ week.

Whether you're into nature, photography, or just looking for a quiet place to relax, this garden is perfect. A great place to unwind, explore, and enjoy some time surrounded by natural beauty. Highly recommend for a calm and refreshing visit!

Excellent accessibility for people with disabilities. There is good disability parking and excellent access throughout the park, with wide lanes and plenty of shaded areas to stop and rest. There are also spots where you can grab something to eat. Accessible toilets are available as well.

I took my twin 6 year old Granddaughters on this very special Secrets of the Australian Bush - Easter School Holidays Adventure by bus. What a fabulous one hour trip. Our 2 guides were informative and knowledgeable, they dealt with the inundation of questions from all the littlies with patience and respect. My twins want to do this every year, sadly only goes up to age 10. I believe the bus runs on weekends for adults.

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, located less than an hour's drive from Canberra, is a haven for nature enthusiasts and families. The reserve offers guided tours, wildlife spotting opportunities, and various walking trails amidst an incredibly beautiful and peaceful setting. Visitors can explore the area's rich history through informative plaques while encountering iconic Australian wildlife such as kangaroos, mountain dragons, skinks, and diverse bird species.
A beautiful natural environment that is easily accessible and close to Canberra. There are bush land and bushwalks to explore as well grassed picnic areas and play areas for children. Highlights include the Sanctuary and Koala enclosure. I would readily return again and again to enjoy this natural wonderland. The entrance is being developed and once finished it will be a great addition to the area.

I think the info can be improved. Like where actually the platypus is and the koala. And the best way to see them. Understand this is not a zoo. But that's why we need guidance to enjoy the nature at its fullest. Each track can also be advertised better for its experience, using the brochure of course as it's the only information source we can depend on. Nevertheless. The place was serene and beautiful

A must-visit! It’s really beautiful, with many trails for various walks. I recommend taking the one that leads to the top of the mountain for a breathtaking view! You also have the chance to see many animals, including lots of kangaroos (especially in the morning). It’s truly exciting to see koalas as well.

This is a wonderful place. The short drive from Canberra is well worth it. We saw Bandicoots, Wallabies,Kangaroos, Koalas, a wombat, and bunch of magnificent birds. The best animal we saw was a Platypus- all of these were spotted in their natural environment. Best time to visit is just before sunset.

The Canberra Reptile Zoo is a fascinating place where visitors can observe and interact with native Australian frogs and reptiles, such as snakes, turtles, and crocodiles. The zoo offers engaging exhibits that educate visitors about the importance of these creatures in the ecosystem. Additionally, it is located near the serene Percival Hill Nature Reserve, providing an opportunity to enjoy leisurely walks and observe local flora and fauna.
Best experience for both kids and adults! Highly recommend visiting, totally worth it. Heaps to see, & awesome how you get to touch the lizards too. All staff were lovely. Will definitely visit again. Awesome gift shop with lots of fun stuff for the kids. AND… you might just be there at the right time to see a snake having lunch! 🐍🐁

Very organised and well thought out reptile collection! I was pleasantly surprised as it might not be a big place but the exhibits are varied and informative I appreciate the effort and creative design of this place to cater to both kids and young at heart! I only gave 4 stars because the cafe was closed! I love the animals here and how they are cared for. I have been to some of the famous ( San Diego Zoo, Western Plains Zoo, etc) and not so famous zoos and animal sanctuaries ( Devils at Cradle, Reptile Sanctuary near Cradle Mtn) and zi think this place is in my top three! It helped thst we got there early on a Monday and we lracticslly had the place to ourselves, so we had plenty of tranquil time inmersing with the adorable creatures without conpeting with screaming kids, lol

We visited in the afternoon so it wasn’t as busy, but we enjoyed the crocodile feeding, petting a 2 yo crocodile and petting some lizards as well! The bugs and crawlies exhibit was great - seeing spiders, beetles and yabbies was pretty cool! Staff were super friendly and welcoming, there were two outdoor play areas which were both big kid and little kid friendly!

Canberra reptile zoo is really good and cute. It’s a lot of fun to walk around, it’s nicely arranged and decorated, so it’s easy to see everything. The shop also has a lot to look at, including supplies for your pet reptiles! The creatures all have plenty of room with nice habitats and look pretty happy! I’ve only dropped off a star because I noticed some of the lizards could be given some care to help shed. Most of them had scars and stuck shed, even missing toes. So it looks like they struggle to shed, and hurt themselves. They were in the middle of shedding when I visited so I just thought they could have some help to get comfortable. Some humidity or a warm bath maybe? Other than that everything is great! I recommend a visit, reptiles are the best!

Great place to visit with your kids or if you are adult and would like to see beautiful Australian reptiles. One of the best place to host your kids birthday. Namadgi National Park is a protected area in the Australian bush, located near Canberra. It offers campgrounds, hiking trails, and a visitor center for nature enthusiasts. The park's diverse landscape includes red and black earth, providing a serene and picturesque setting for outdoor activities. Visitors can explore the Woodlands walk or venture up the Mt Tennent path to enjoy stunning views of the surroundings.
The whole park is amazing. Lots of astronomy history to check out. Loads of kangaroos, great walks. We visited the Orroral area and loved the observatory. Takes 8km return to get to the atora rocks but it is well worth it. Take tons of water and good boots, as there are snakes around.

Beautiful area - pity there is little mobile reception! 2wd possible to Hospital Hill and area with great views but drive carefully on gravel road as quite a few potholes! Light sleet when we visited

We did the Woodlands walk. It was beautiful and peaceful. They say it is an hour walk. But it was more like twenty to thirty minutes. When we got to the furthest end of the walk we kept going and went up the Mt Tennet path for a while. Be careful of the road crossing. The ground was wet and the path looked like a small stream at times. Overall though, it was a good walk

Mel N — Google review
I've done several hikes in Namadgi, Nursery Swamp was absolutely beautiful. We did it in late July so we got to see some snow. I think in summer it would be a bit of a snake hazard given how narrow the paths are. It's meant to be a 4 hour return hike but like most of the tracks, this only took about 2.25 hours return with a good steady pace.
Riahnne K — Google review
Namadgi is all I dearly love about Australian bush; wildness, diversity of species, red and black earth and silence. Beloved silence. Go up and enjoy yourself. Grab a trail and walk. Enjoy the stunning views. If you're lucky enough, pick up some snow and feel the cold and the white brilliance of so many flakes squished together. We're lucky to have it in our backyard.
Ryan M — Google review
A very great bushwalk but there was one major flaw… The kangaroos were government spies, this is proven by their unnatural behaviour and staring at u at even the slightest mention of tax evasion. The main reason for my 1 star is that when I tested my theory mentioning tax evasion and the government a roo tried to erase my memory at night by sneaking up on me and scaring me.

The park features extensive equestrian paths and mountain bike trails that accommodate varying skill levels, making it a favorite among mountain biking aficionados.
Went on a Tuesday morning so nice and quiet. Great on-site facilities. Trails, skill parks and paths for all skill levels. Broke a thumb here in two places two years ago but it didn't stop me coming back. Camped nearby at Cotter campground which I highly recommend

Fantastic facility, with Showers , toilets and Cafe for a good Burger Beer or Coffee and a bike shop .... oh and many kilometres great trails
Wayne T — Google review
Great first experience at Stromlo. Everyone was extremely welcoming, both riders on the trails and staff at the facilities. The trails are better marked than a lot of parks and the addition of suggested loops (1-6) with corresponding numbers at the trail head made it super easy to get around without getting lost. With a bit of rain the trails get super grippy as it's dirt/mud rather than clay, which is a nice change and super easy to wash off

Amazing MTB (mountain bike) riding tracks! This place has a few runs ranked from beginner to advanced level with huge jumps. Ideally, 5 of you take a vehicle up with 4 MTB. Then 4 of you ride down the mountain. Fun + excitement + huge reward to improve your skills & bravery. Thank you Canberra!
Jason O — Google review
Great for MTB (Mountain Bike Riding) for varying levels of skill. Despite recent criticism levelled against the ACT Government (possibly justified?) there is still a lot of appeal, complexity and variety of single-track riding trails over a broad area of the park. It will be interesting to see how the new Aquatic Centre development helps generate an as yet untapped market. And whether it will draw more people and generate more interest in Stromlo Forest Park as a go-to location for a greater range of sporting activities. Pay parking at the main car park is now live and active. As long as the revenue is truly put towards the management, maintenance and repair of the park trails it will be great. However the trails are still great, extensive and of a variety of challenges to suit beginners, mid level and skilled cross country and downhill riders. They have also continued to develop the trials and skills areas of the park.

The staff are friendly and patient. The exhibits are clean and have lots of comments for safety and for historic explanation. I loved the shovel on the footplate of the loco that was kept well for beyond 100 years of service. Also, seeing comments about the historic uses for this and that was great. Also seeing antique travel luggage and even the pots and pans one man brought to travel with was amazing. I even heard that they serviced a Garret there! It's been my childhood dream to see one face to face. At least I know the government is caring for one of these hard-working giants. I was also glad to see engine maintenance going on and a removed boiler. I'm glad to have visited this place. There's even a few model railways around. Also, I didn't know where to book tickets on the website but I'm glad we could book them at the door.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Canberra Railway Museum, and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience. This hidden gem in the heart of Canberra is a treasure trove of historical trains and boasts a team of incredibly friendly and knowledgeable volunteer staff. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the volunteers who were more than happy to share their passion for trains and the rich history behind each exhibit. Their enthusiasm was infectious and added to the overall charm of the museum. The collection of historical trains at the museum is nothing short of impressive. From beautifully restored steam locomotives to vintage carriages, every corner of the museum is filled with fascinating artifacts that transport you back in time. The attention to detail in preserving these pieces of history is evident, and it's clear that the museum's team is dedicated to its mission of preserving Australia's railway heritage. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to step inside some of the carriages and experience what travel was like in bygone eras. The interiors are meticulously restored to their former glory, making you feel like you've stepped back in time. The Canberra Railway Museum is not just a place for train enthusiasts; it's a place for anyone who appreciates history and wants to learn about Australia's railway heritage. It's a family-friendly attraction that offers educational experiences and a chance to marvel at the engineering marvels of the past. In conclusion, my visit to the Canberra Railway Museum was a delightful journey through time, thanks to the impressive collection of historical trains and the warm hospitality of the volunteers. Whether you're a railway enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and educational outing, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this wonderful museum. It's a true testament to Australia's railway history, and you're guaranteed to leave with a newfound appreciation for the locomotives of yesteryears.
