Albrecht-Dürer-Stube is a charming Franconian restaurant located near the castle in Nuremberg. Housed in a 450-year-old building, it exudes history and nostalgia. The restaurant, now run by the same family for three generations, offers a delectable menu of traditional Nuremberg dishes such as sausages, steaks, fish, and seasonal vegetables.
We came at 7pm without a reservation and they were kind enough to fit us in, asking us to come back at 8pm.
It’s a small quaint local restaurant with traditional
Franconian food. There are a lot of framed embroidery on all the walls that add to the charm of this local spot. The embroidery framed in front of our table said to eat and drink without worry (trink und iss sorgenvergiss) and we followed the instructions well.
We ordered the special oven roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage and somehow had room for apple fritters and warm plums for dessert. The pork was AMAZING - tender, with crispy skin, and the potato dumpling was light and fluffy and the red cabbage was also the perfect complement to the meal. Apple fritters were crispy and chewy and the warm plum was also delish.
Our server was very friendly and I would highly recommend this place. Make a reservation in advance if you want to eat immediately 😊

A cozy Franconian restaurant just steps from Dürer’s house, with wood-paneled walls, checkered tablecloths, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The menu focuses on regional classics, crispy pork shoulder with dumpling and red cabbage, Nuremberg sausages with potato salad, rich goulash, and everything is cooked with care. A truly authentic and charming place, incredibly cozy and full of character. The design is fascinating, with beautiful reproductions of engravings to admire everywhere you look. The service is impressively fast, and the meat is absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended!
Very good traditional Franconian food in a half-timbered house with several floors. Both the Nuremberg sausages and the cheese spaetzle were excellent. The beer served here is from the Augustiner brewery out of Munich.
We had a traditional Franconian lunch in this restaurant, where you can share a table with the other customers in a friendly environment. We suggest the grilled Turkey with mushrooms sauce and rosti, and the goose liver patè. The bill was super honest for what we have eaten.
It was a fine choice directly in the city center, near to the castle. The food was not so especial with limited options. I can recommend the Bärlauchsuppe and the mix starter plate. A huge minus point is Schäufele was not offered to us and other guests during our visit. Although they were still available, the next guests were coming 1 hour after us but could order it.

I tried the day menu which was minced meat inside cabbage leaves in a diced bacon-onion sauce (which to me was salty) and a small dessert ( not too sweet). The environment is nice and the staff was welcoming and attentive. In warmer weather outdoor seating area would be a nice option as it’s located in a wide, beautiful street.
I wanted a healthy breakfast. The waitresses was not polite, no WLAN pass, no smile. there was table like in restorant and was full but she insisted to bring me breakfast from the menu

The coffee is good and the cakes a fresh made but what is special for me are 3 things: 1 - they are placed in downtown but in a really quiet area, so is nice to relax, have a nice break with a book, nice talk with friends with food, etc. 2 - the service is beyond nice and fast. They know their regulars and create a nice bond with them. 3 - they almost always have a gluten-free cake separate from their non gluten-free cakes! This is a very special detail. If you or someone you know is gluten free, I recommend you o go there for a coffee and cake.
They have books you can borrow and they sell as well some food prepared in the restaurant like gulasch or curry lentils.
in my opinion this place is great for having a coffee, a tea and some cake. maybe even for breakfasts or brunch. however i would definitely not recommend it to go have lunch or dinner. it's not that the food itself it's bad, but i mean it reminds me of the food they serve in the cantine at work, it's good? yes. is it where i want to go have lunch on a sunday? probably not ... they have some vegetarian options which is much apreciated but in my opinion it leaves much to be desired, the prices are quite too high and really there are way better restaurants in nürnberg...

My visit wasn't planned. I was at the castle and happened to come across this restaurant. Since I hadn’t had breakfast, I decided to have lunch here. The food was amazing – the crispy skin and tender meat were perfectly cooked, making it a truly satisfying meal. The portion was huge though,that I couldn't finish it.

A very good restaurant in the centre of Nuremberg. I liked that it was quiet but I think it can get very busy. I felt cosy there, a really good place to get your buddies out for a drink or for food.
We got the Nuremberg sausages with potato salad, and also a portion of Cheese Spätzle. Very good. Just a bit salt for my buds, as I don't add it anymore to food, but I would say a well balanced value price. And the staff was very friendly.

This charming restaurant is perfectly located next to the famous Nuremberg Castle, adding to its enchanting atmosphere. I tried the local dish Schäufele, a special pork cut cooked for three hours, tender like butter, and paired it with a slightly smoky dark beer. It’s easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Germany. The service was outstanding—friendly and attentive from start to finish. They even offered a beer tasting to help me choose the right one. The architecture is also worth noting, reflecting the traditional Nuremberg style, and there’s a terrace with a view of the castle and city. Though it was too windy and cold to sit outside, the indoor setting was cozy and inviting. Prices are fair, and the location is ideal if you’re visiting the castle and surrounding area. I would return to Nuremberg just to dine here again. 5/5!
Stopped in for a quick drink and meal and went with the beef goulash, spatzle and hefeweizen. The food was delicious as was the beer, also was nosy and looking at other dishes and they looked great. I dont see how you could get a bad meal here.

Lovely place for a fine-dining experience! Food was great, service was lovely (although not all staff were able to introduce the dishes in English, but we had no problem figuring everything out together) and the atmosphere was cool!
One thing we missed was a proper welcome: when we arrived (Saturday, 7pm) there was no one at the door to greet us. Minor point, but if you want to step up the hosting experience, that'd be a way to do it :)

Perfect from start to finish. Every dish was full of flavour, cooked amazingly and well presented. Even the bread was delicious. The wine was also perfectly paired. Our main server Elke was fantastic, explaining every dish and wine in detail and was super attentive and friendly throughout. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, minimal and chic which added to the overall experience. Definitely recommend.
Imperial stands out as an oasis in the culinary desert that is Nuremberg. After a week of avoiding pretzels, schnitzel, bland Indian food, something called tapas, and Italian out of the box food, Imperial was
a cascade of fresh and invigorating sensory delight.
I selected the five course meal which paired perfectly with a Riesling, Ruinart champagne, and an Austrian blend.
I will be back, just not soon enough.

Yeah it is well over my usual budget for my restaurant treat but for a special occasion we left with a very good impression.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Nürnberg. The first impression was a personal greeting from the owner of the restaurant the famous in Germany a celebrity chef Alexander Herrmann. Excellent interior design. Open kitchen. Very professional and friendly staff. Great service. Cozy and romantic atmosphere. The food was delicious. Big choice of wines, spirits and soft drinks.My recommendation is to try the "Glamour Mood" menu option. Absolutely unforgettable experience. Spent a great time in this restaurant. Highly recommended to visit.

What a great place to go eat and have a beer and glass of wine! I wish we could go back. I do recommend a reservation.

English-friendly restaurant, gets busy in the evenings but the people are happy to share a table with you so you can sit for a meal. Fantastic food, beer, service, and atmosphere. Would recommend reserving a table rather than walking in, however, they will more than likely try to accommodate you. Had a 1L beer and a life changing mushroom-smothered fried schnitzel, all for less than €20 to include a tip.

The Hexenhäusle beer garden is a historic building located directly below the walls of the Imperial Castle. Nice place to have something to eat after a visit to the castle. I’ve read that it is quite touristy, but it isn’t reflected in the prices and there were plenty of locals dining/drinking here. The food was good, beer as well. Service was a bit slow at first, but once we got the menus everything was fine.

Came here for a quick drink and snack after visiting the Kaiserburg. Friendly service, cosy restaurant in witch house theme. Big beer garten. But was closed since it was winter. I bet it's nice in summer!

I took homemade lemonade and personally, I would give that drink a 2 star only. I didn’t like it. It felt only very little lemon has been squeezed into a lot of water. So, it tasted very bland and weird.
MAIN COURSE:
I ordered a classic dish from them:
knuspriges schäufele mit dinkelbiersoße. It was VERY delicious. The knodel was also so good.
The meat was soooo well cooked, it was crispy and yet soft on the inside. Oh 😍. I would highly recommend it.
The sauce was complimenting the meat really well and so was the sauerkraut.

DESSERT:
I ordered Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce and it was also very tasty. Not too sweet - just as I like it. It had raisins in it too which was giving it a good taste. Soft. Also recommended. 😃

Me and my girlfriend were on the lookout for some authentic German food and we stumbled across this beautiful beer garden at the base of the castle. The food was so good at a really affordable price compared to other restaurants in similar locations. Service was prompt and one of the male staff was especially fun bringing a great vibe to the whole place. Of course joined by great German beer I would say this is a must visit when in town.

The portions are generous, providing great value for your money, although some may find the water prices a bit steep.
We had some crazy ice cream desserts at this place. The size of the desserts were crazy and the prices reasonable. We were 4 people and only ordered 3, but couldn’t even finish that. The taste and quality was great as well.

If you have ever tried the Italian ice cream you should already know that they sell terrible ice creams all around Germany.
If you don’t know the true italian ice cream and are a tourist here enjoy it, you wouldn’t know the difference in any case.

I went to this restaurant last night. I encountered an unhelpful male staff member with glasses. After trying one ice cream flavor and choosing not to buy it, I proceeded to purchase two cups for my family. When I then asked to sample a different flavor, he refused, citing a one-sample-per-customer rule. This policy felt inflexible and disregarded my status as a paying customer who had just made, and was intending to make, further purchases.
OMG 😱 - by far, best ice cream in Nürnberg, located right at hauptmarktplatz so it's certainly easy to arrive by public transportation, walk or bike.

Wow so don't let your eyes get bigger than your stomach because the portions of icecreams in the menu (vs a scoop of icecream plain) are huge! You could definitely split one. The ice cream itself is delicious. Variety of berries and fresh. Loved the cappuccino as well.

Cafe Bar Katz is a retro-hip cafe located in Nuremberg Old Town, offering a variety of soups, sandwiches, and bowls that change daily. In addition to artisanal coffee and cream cakes, they also serve alcoholic drinks. The cafe has a laid-back atmosphere with vintage interior and a sidewalk terrace where you can enjoy drinks like Aperol Spritz or wine while people-watching during the summer.
The food is extremely delicious.
With apricot jam, goat cheese, sesame leaves, and tomato they blend wonderfully together and is super cheap.
It is very crowded at night since people come for the food and atmosphere.

The place is located close to downtown but in a really relax area, which I love because you don’t get the noise of the city but in few steps you are in the heart of the city.
I would put this place more as a bistro than a pure coffee. The prices are fair and have space inside and outside for when the weather is nice. They have a selection of fresh home made cakes that are really nice with the correct amount of sweetness. Their beer menu is very good together with the cocktails, better than their coffee selection I must say.
The only downside for me is the kind of atmosphere, the deco is pretty retro chic cool but every time I am there I feel kind of uncomfortable because attracts an specific customer that makes me feel uncomfortable. But again, that is just me.
The staff is super nice and friendly. The ambience is really chill. Good to hang out with friends here but the selection of food is limited esp for breakfast.

I visited this bar with my wife. We ordered a Guinness, salad and a veggie burger. The food and the drink were good. A nice place to come and relax after a busy day.

Came for a few drinks with a large group from the UK. The staff were incredible, very attentive and looked after us all night. Mairead was especially wonderful and made sure our drinks were filled all night. The atmosphere is 10/10. Would highly recommend.

Atmosphere is very charming, and the service is EXCELLENT!

Bayt Beirut - large portion and unique flavour
Everything is prepared and served in clay pots which retain the temp longer. This ensures your food stays hot for a longer time. Great idea.
Come by and try out this wonderful restaurant. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll feel very welcomed by Jean and Elias.

We came here for dinner and had such a fantastic experience. The outdoor seating is really charming and cozy — perfect for summer evenings. The owners were incredibly warm and made sure we felt welcome and well taken care of.
We had several mezze — a variety of small dishes, each one full of flavor and clearly made with love. Everything we tried was delicious, and I kept spotting other plates I would’ve loved to taste — if only we weren’t already so full!
I’m definitely coming back for more. This place has heart, flavor, and hospitality — a true gem.
Amazing Lebanese food! My favorite was the Kibeh! Great atmosphere and great service. The staff is very friendly and kindly recommends you dishes so you can meet the Lebanese culture!

A Lebanese gem in the heart of the old town in Nuremberg!
It was my first time trying the Lebanese Butter Chicken and I was definitely surprised in the best of ways. The chicken was cooked to perfection and they serve it to your table directly in the clay pot. Also, the slightly sweet Baba Ganoush was amazing as well.
And on top of all that, the ambiance and the service were top notch as well!
I would for sure come back next time I visit Nuremberg, and you should too!
It’s nice food, and the setting inside is lovely and the wait staff are very friendly and very good at their job buts it’s grossly overpriced for what it is. We were 3 people, shared 4 starters, and 1 main course, 3 aperols and 2 glasses wine and it was a total of 210euro. You leave with a feeling that you have been taken advantage of and that the friendly act of the wait staff is exactly just that. The prices on the menu online are cheaper and don’t match the prices of the menu in the restaurant. If you’re prepared to spend decent amount and get tasty food, then go. You’ll have a nice experience

Visitors appreciate the old-style German ambiance and the availability of vegan options, although some suggest clearer labeling on the menu.
Great service and tasty food, big portions. Big plus for german traditional meals in vegan version. We got good recommendations too.
However, place is a bit ran down and there was troubles with card payment. It was insignificant inconvinience though.

A gluten-free dream! Nearly everything was available gluten free with vegetarian and vegan options as well. The staff was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and the portion sizes were incredible. You get traditional German Franconian foods that taste fantastic. 100% plan to visit again and would recommend!

A good place serving proper regional dishes. I liked it seemed like an old style German restaurant, the sort that seem to be disappearing. Also liked there were Vegan options, we had the two that were asparagus specials, our server said most of the other dishes were vegan too but did not see that marked as such on the menu ( please could they do this?)

Suppdiwupp is a Turkish-style café with an international menu and ambient interior. The café boasts a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, and dips that make it perfect for light lunches or Recover meals. Suppdiwupp also has outdoor seating that is perfect for summertime drinks and bites.
This is a traditional soup shop located along Lorenzer Strasse that we ate at twice during a recent visit to Nuremburg. They have a fair-sized indoor seating area. You can do take-away as well. Opening hours are 11am to 6pm daily.
They offer a handful of daily and weekly soup choices. Vegan options available. Bowl sizes are big and medium, servings come with bread. We tried their Goulash, Carrot & Ginger and Turkish Lentil soups during our visits. They were all excellent, warm, tasty and soothing. Loved the soup and will gladly return next time in Nuremburg.

It was a tasty soup - I tried Russian Soljanka - very concentrated and yum.
The only thing that upset me was the price though, I found it a bit overpriced as I paid €10. I would definitely come more often if it would be reasonable (as an idea, for example, for students)

Visited the food truck on multiple occasions and I’ve always had a good experience. My number 1 recommendation is the African Peanut soup with Pulled Chicken. Their Chilli con Carne has a very nice delicate flavour that can be customised with seasonings provided. The Moroccan Chickpea soup is a great option for vegans. I like that they have free toppings optionally. The Milchreis with Zimt+Zucker is very good. Each soup is very filling in its own way. Depending on your appetite level, you can pick the small or large.
