German restaurant
Restaurant
Located near the Sebalduskirche, Bratwursthäusle has been serving original Nurnberger Rostbratwurste since 1313. The sausages are cooked over a wood fire, giving them a distinct beechwood flavor. This historic establishment also houses its own butcher shop where Nuremberg specialties are freshly prepared daily.
I visited this restaurant twice in two days. The roasted pork shoulder is a must-try—crispy skin like popcorn and flavorful gravy. On my second visit, I had the Nuremberg sausages with sauerkraut and potato salad, all delicious. Sitting outside in mid-August was perfect. Friendly staff and great service. A place you shouldn’t miss when in Nuremberg.
Biow Y — Google review
Great location in the historic city center of Nuremberg. Few min away from the castle. The local sausages are fantastic as well as a decent beer selection. Service can be a little slow at times.
Jens A — Google review
A very unique place, a bit small, but you're immersed in the atmosphere, the warmth, and the smells of good food. The food is excellent; you can't miss the strudel! (photo from months ago)
Lorella M — Google review
Delicious local food! The Nuremberg sausages were perfectly grilled — smoky and flavorful. I also loved the sausage soup with onion, warm and comforting, ang roast pork. Don’t miss the potato salad
Subencha P — Google review
I come here every time I visit Germany! Their bratwurst are so good and the raddlers are refreshing! I love their kartoffelsalat and the staff are always very nice and attentive! The bathrooms are very clean and they bring the food and drinks very quickly. Try the apfel strudel!!
Jeszi P — Google review
Best Nurnberg sausages. Lovely patio, good service, great food. A local in a museum shop told us he eats here regularly. Now I know why, it is awesome.
J B — Google review
A truly over-rated restaurant, food and service sucks. Guess it’s popular because it’s on the main street. We tried 2 other restaurants that are within 1 minute away and they were so much better! The soup was so salty that we left it after just a spoonful. The bread was so hard. The pork shoulder was ok but not the best around. We did not try the dessert since we didn’t like the food. We went at 6pm and they closed the outside umbrella sitting area, packed everyone at the upper deck. We do not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Fun F — Google review
Absolutely loved this restaurant in Nuremberg! The famous Nuremberg sausages were outstanding – perfectly grilled, full of flavor, and served just right. A true local specialty that lives up to its reputation. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city and looking to enjoy real Nuremberg flavors!

Brewpub
Franconian restaurant
Hausbrauerei Altstadthof - Rotbierstüberl- Brauerei und Whiskydestillerie is a charming brewery tavern located in the Nuremberg Old Town. It offers a selection of local red beer, whisky, and classic Franconian dishes in a rustic setting with a large terrace.
Excellent place for team events! We started with the escape room located in the cellar. It’s quite spacious that 8 of us can all move freely inside and the temperature is also comfortable. The content is pretty interesting, we chose the one related to historical story and everyone was enjoyed. After passing the game, we got Nürnberg original red beer as reward. There was a staff staying with us, who gave us a detail review in the end, and of course if you need help you can raise your hand at any time. After that we went to the bar for the dinner. Food and beer were very good, and we also tasted special season drink called “winter Wärmer”. Waitress were super friendly and nice. We had a wonderful time there.
JAW L — Google review
A great spot to enjoy authentic German beer! I skipped the meal hours and just enjoyed a quiet moment with beer. I’m not exactly a beer expert, but tasting different kinds and noticing their subtle differences made me realize—this is what really good beer tastes like. Experiencing that in such a historically rich city made it even more special 🍺
Hyein J — Google review
Just stopped by for a beer during a day out. The place was busy with lots of tables reserved but the helpful staff said we could sit at one for our drinks as we explained that we would only be 30 minutes as our bus was leaving shortly. We wanted to try the local beer and it didn't disappoint. If we are in the area again we will definitely go back to eat and have some more of the excellent beer.
Adam S — Google review
A great and well located brewery in the heart of Nuremberg. A bit stuffy for an interior, and the service staff didn’t seem to like Americans very much. But the beer did most of the talking, great tasting beer paired with some hearty goulash soup. Spaetzle was incredibly tasty and cooked perfectly, great with a bite of the beef! A good place to stop in for a quick bite, but the bar packs up very quickly.
Alexander F — Google review
Great service, friendly staff. Had the Nuremberg sausages to start then the Schnitzel and Pork Medallians. Everything was great, super generous portions. The Pork Medallians' sauce was so black-peppery! It was intense, but I love black pepper so it was amazing. The beer is great too. Just 5 stars all around!
Aaron L — Google review
Lovely old pub restaurant. Had Käsespätzle my favourite. Rotbier is also definitely great! Friendly staff, quick and not too expensive.
Matt R — Google review
Will recommend making a reservation beforehand, a must! Take an evening stroll alongside the old city walls after dinner and beer tasting.
True R — Google review
This is a very good choice to eat and to drink local beer and local black cola. And the menu is very very tasty. And the atmosphere is fantastic, everywhere the people are celebrating life, and their liberty. Nürmberg is a wonderful place to be happy, regardless of religion, nationality or colour.

Franconian restaurant
Bavarian restaurant
Albrecht-Dürer-Stube is a charming Franconian restaurant located near the castle in Nuremberg. Housed in a 450-year-old building, it exudes history and nostalgia. The restaurant, now run by the same family for three generations, offers a delectable menu of traditional Nuremberg dishes such as sausages, steaks, fish, and seasonal vegetables.
We came at 7pm without a reservation and they were kind enough to fit us in, asking us to come back at 8pm. It’s a small quaint local restaurant with traditional Franconian food. There are a lot of framed embroidery on all the walls that add to the charm of this local spot. The embroidery framed in front of our table said to eat and drink without worry (trink und iss sorgenvergiss) and we followed the instructions well. We ordered the special oven roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage and somehow had room for apple fritters and warm plums for dessert. The pork was AMAZING - tender, with crispy skin, and the potato dumpling was light and fluffy and the red cabbage was also the perfect complement to the meal. Apple fritters were crispy and chewy and the warm plum was also delish. Our server was very friendly and I would highly recommend this place. Make a reservation in advance if you want to eat immediately 😊
Lee ( — Google review
A cozy Franconian restaurant just steps from Dürer’s house, with wood-paneled walls, checkered tablecloths, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The menu focuses on regional classics, crispy pork shoulder with dumpling and red cabbage, Nuremberg sausages with potato salad, rich goulash, and everything is cooked with care. Portions are hearty without being overwhelming, and desserts like the sampler plate or affogato with gingerbread ice cream are standouts. Add in warm service and fair prices, and you’ve got one of the best places in the old town to enjoy traditional Nuremberg flavors.

Amazing dinner, real german food with good quality and kind service. The atmosphere was nice and quitet and the decoration really stood out. Very historic and good representation of german tradition and food heritage

A truly authentic and charming place, incredibly cozy and full of character. The design is fascinating, with beautiful reproductions of engravings to admire everywhere you look. The service is impressively fast, and the meat is absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended!
Anastasiia K — Google review
Very good traditional Franconian food in a half-timbered house with several floors. Both the Nuremberg sausages and the cheese spaetzle were excellent. The beer served here is from the Augustiner brewery out of Munich.
M H — Google review
We had a traditional Franconian lunch in this restaurant, where you can share a table with the other customers in a friendly environment. We suggest the grilled Turkey with mushrooms sauce and rosti, and the goose liver patè. The bill was super honest for what we have eaten.
Matteo S — Google review
It was a fine choice directly in the city center, near to the castle. The food was not so especial with limited options. I can recommend the Bärlauchsuppe and the mix starter plate. A huge minus point is Schäufele was not offered to us and other guests during our visit. Although they were still available, the next guests were coming 1 hour after us but could order it.
Ho N — Google review
Very tasty, nice ambiance and good prices! I went there to have a late lunch / early dinner because they were fully booked in the evening due to a fair, so I was quite hungry 😅. So I started with the famous schäufele, which I paired with a rotbier. Then I tried the käsespätzle - which has been one of the best I've ever tried! - and paired it with a hell beer ofc. Everything is totally recommended!

Zum Gulden Stern - Historische Bratwurstküche is a historic restaurant located in Nuremberg, known for serving traditional sausage-based dishes. It is considered the oldest bratwurst restaurant in the world, with a tradition of hand-crafted sausages made according to authentic recipes. The sausages are marinated, smoked, and grilled over beech wood fire without boiling them ahead of time.
OMG! I had the MOST delicious brats & sauerkraut here! I was in Germany as a child and finally made it back. These brats brought back fond memories! They are cooked to order by a wonderful chef! So good! We came for lunch, then dinner the next day! The atmosphere is authentic & cozy. The service was friendly and accommodating.

Despite the satisfying food and the fascinating historical atmosphere, the waitress was completely unfriendly. She did not like first amount of which we had ordered, and she asked several times: "Is that all?" (This did not mean: "Is that all, What did you order?"). The food was again served in a rude manner. When it was time to pay, she pulled out the credit card reader. She covered the card touching area with the paper in her hand and showed the screen which showing the waitress tips menu “a kind of forced “ us for a tip, by pointing to the area on the device. I can say, that there are dozens of similar complaints about her on Asian social media accounts. I believe, such a historic place could be better off with much more professional and customer-oriented waiters. Waiters means not only, To take orders and bring food to the table; it is also about, To give the customer the feeling, welcome to be here. Even in a hospital doctor try to calm the patients and give them a sense of good vibe . But to be treated like that by a waiter in a restaurant . It was absolutely unpleasant. Even me, who usually doesn't comment any bad things and try share positive things always , I feel this time to let the know people what can be waiting for them with her , and there is absolutely no misunderstanding or anything like that. It is completely rude and intended waiters behavior.

We arrived in Germany after an exhausting train ride from France and were very excited to have some authentic German food, and we were not disappointed! We walked in and were seated upstairs either a view of below and immediately, a very friendly gentleman offered to assist us in ordering what was good on the menu. He was so charismatic and helpful, catered several different dishes and we throughly enjoyed every single dish. From the yummy potato soup, refreshing salad, cheese dip with bread, a main dish of large and small brats and pork tenderloin with herb butter, it was all so delicious. We raved over the potato salad as well and are already trying g to figure out how to recreate the dish for our family back in the US. We indulged in the apple strudel and the plum parfait and found those delightful. We can’t say enough about the food served and the service. We have to leave tomorrow for our next stop in Europe and are excited to go to our last dinner in Germany again at this lovely establishment. Will recommend to anyone 100%.

Tourist review: Historic venue to eat Nuremberg bratwurst - Zum Gulden Stern serves delicious bratwurst and beer! Came here and got the mixed platter from the grill with the large & small bratwursts, pork medallions and a side of sauerkraut. All the food was absolutely delicious - the small bratwursts were super tasty especially and the sauerkraut was the best I’ve ever had! The dark draconian beer was also one of the best beers I’ve had in Germany - highly recommend. The restaurant itself is also very honestly and cosy, although the portions of food are a little on the smaller side. Would definitely come back!
Andrew — Google review
Visited an hour before close and loved the cozy, almost family-table atmosphere. While the food and beer were generally good rather than memorable, the salted pork knuckle with sauerkraut stood out (honestly among the best sauerkraut I've ever had as a tourist). Service was friendly.
Khiem N — Google review
This place is an experience, from the old style to the amazing sausages and beer. The day I went there was a news crew interviewing people for an article on what I assume to be some sausage boxing match. But even still the food came out timely and tasted amazing.
Kyle H — Google review
Food was delicious, staff warm and welcoming, fantastic atmosphere. What's not to like? Highly recommended to anyone visiting Nuremberg.
Frances B — Google review
I had the fondue with pretzel and the salt Knockel with sauerkraut. Both very good. Washed it down with the Urfrankische dark beer. Service was quick and I wasn't pressured to move along and able to just take my time and enjoy the atmosphere of the place. The kitchen is literally in the middle of the restaurant. If food smells bother you then get a table outside.

Pretzel store

Breakfast restaurant
Brezen Kolb offers a variety of pretzels, including vegan options with hummus, cucumber, and tomato. Customers praise the fantastic selection and high-quality, freshly made pretzels. The location provides ample space for relaxation and even offers a drive-through option. With a wide range of sweet and savory pretzels available, it's an ideal spot for breakfast or a quick snack.
We came not so long before they were closing, but very warm welcoming. The pretzels are tasty, and the hot cocoa is good too, they didn't give me a top for the cup, even though I asked for it to be taken away, but it was okay. Price didn't hurt, all good.
Zsófia T — Google review
Had a nice breakfast here at a very reasonable price. Unfortunately the brezens weren't super fresh, and we chose this place because of them... But overall I'd say the breakfast is a good value for money.
Iris P — Google review
This is a chain restaurant. It’s all over Nuremberg. From just a small kiosk to a cafe bakery like this one. This one has a drive thru and some hot foods and a nice outdoor patio. I ordered the weisswurst. It was sub par. The pretzel is good but not great. What’s nice is you can get pretzel sandwiches. Prices are reasonable. I had the weisswurst, pretzel, green tea and lebkuchen for 10.50 Euros. You do have to buss your own table.
Tom C — Google review
Best Brezen , when made fresh! Unfortunately Brezen are almost always chewy since they are pre made and sit in the fridge for a while (which is totally understandable, unfortunately)
Mario K — Google review
I tried the drive-in option and ordered butter breze with coffee. Everything was great.
Samane N — Google review
They have the worst breze ever! They have one job to do, make a soft, fresh breze! Very disappointed. I have been there already three times and every time the breze was hard and not eatable. Will never go there again!
Peyman Y — Google review
The hummus pretzel was really good! An amazing option for vegans like me 💕. The coffee had nothing special, also more bad than a good taste. Also, the opening hours was different than the maps page.

Nestled in the heart of Nuremberg's old town, Bratwurst Röslein stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone craving hearty Franconian cuisine. This expansive eatery claims to be the largest bratwurst restaurant in the world, boasting an impressive capacity of 600 guests indoors and an additional 250 in its charming outdoor beer garden. With summer sunshine beckoning, dining al fresco here is a delightful experience.
Amazing experience!! We had a mix of several different sausages that were so good! All served with cabbage and potatoes, everything cooked in a typical way, amazing, really! Also the dessert was great, and their local beer too! And our waiter was such a nice gentleman! Despite Nürnberg being a small town compared to Munich or Frankfurt, my experience here was so much better! They gave us straight away an English menu (I don't speak German unfortunately) and the waiter spoke English as well and he was so so nice! And we had no problems paying by card (which was an issue in the other cities). Approved, 100% recommended! Also good price/value balance!

I had a fantastic meal ! The service was incredibly fast, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, with a great selection of dishes that perfectly capture the brasserie vibe. Whether you’re in a hurry or want to relax, this spot delivers both quality and efficiency. Highly recommend it!

Must visit in Nuremberg! Nuremberger sausages with horseradish, sauerkraut and potato salad. I also had the special Winemakers soup with grapes and cream. Very tasty. Ended with apple fritters and vanilla ice cream
Carol Z — Google review
The food and service was spot on. Open late when a lot of other restaurants close or close early on a Sunday. I had Semmelknödel and it came with a big salad. Ideal for an autumn night after a long day working. The bier I had was a very refreshing Pilsner. The gentleman who served me was friendly, quick and put up with my basic German practice 👍🏼🙂

Excellent Red beer don’t miss!!! Horse radish the best & cabbage excellent with the the right sweetness & acidity !!! For the pork leg delicious & crispy although felt like yesterday’s cooking ( not oven hot & served in 5’) Overall a great experience for tourists & hungry travelers!!! Enjoy
J. M — Google review
Offers a wide selection of traditional Franconian food and is very atmospheric inside, so is great for tourists visiting. However, the service was extremely slow. We were seated for over 30 minutes and still not served and wasn’t too busy. I went up to ask at the front and was told to just wait for the waiter, so eventually had to wave to a waitress to try and grab her attention. Food came quickly enough after we ordered but then again took a long time before we were asked about paying. Just a little more attentiveness or proactivity from the waiters would make a big difference
Tom R — Google review
It was fine, I've just had much better food in the area. And maybe this is typical restaurant style for the area but it's just a bit loud and busy for me. Also servers will ignore you even if you clearly need something. Also kind of pricey for a casual lunch.

Wife and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary with an excursion in Nuremberg. Just had an amazing Franconian dinner- wonderful hosts who deliver amazing fare with friendly service! Pork shoulder, potato dumplings and saurkraut, along with venison, cranberry, and spaetzle. We don't speak German and Deborah helped give us a wonderful dining experience.
David R — Google review
A typical Bavarian restaurant, the Christmas decorations really added to the atmosphere. The food is good, but the portions are very small for the price. The apple strudel, on the other hand, was horrible: it tasted like a frozen one, was half-baked and chewy. The service is fast but not very polite. Overall, not a very good experience.
Susanna F — Google review
Really liked the atmosphere, warm and inviting. The food was pretty good, not great. I had the Krustenschaufele (roasted pork shoulder) which was very tender and delicious. 5 stars. My wife meal was just ok. The Vanilla ice cream with Warm cherry sauce was very nice. What really stood out was our waiter Gregor. Unlike most service in Germany, he was very attentive, explained the menu and meals to us, and stopped to chat after the meal asking about our trip. That earned Gregor and American sized tip.
Tom C — Google review
Went there twice, the 5 star review is especially deserved for the roasted pork shoulder Krustenschaufele, which was delicious and large. A nice place too, by/over the river.
Michael C — Google review
Service and ambiance was great! We were a bit disappointed with both the food and beer but that might be subjective. We had no redervation and were seated spontaneously and quickly. While eating we were left undisturbed to enjoy our meal - which was a nice surprise for introverts who dispise the constant check-ins mid-bite 😝 Steak seemed off unfortunately.. maybe an unlucky piece, was very fatty and oily but not in a juicy/full way. Staff was very friendly, no complaints. The price was adequate given the location. Tasty salad with herbs, salt and vinegar! Potato salad was nice too.
Kati A — Google review
The atmosphere feels German. My food was ok. I ask for sauerkraut for my sausage and was told they didn’t have it even though it was in my salad. The servers weren’t very friendly. My utensils and cup were placed directly on a dirty table. The Pepsi was served flat as a table. I had to switch to Diet Pepsi so I wasn’t drinking syrup water. My experience may be a one off but it’s the only one I got.

It’s true German food place with nice vibes and great atmosphere. Wine is by glass simple one, nothing fancy, fish and meat for main, some salads and seasonal dishes. Quite busy and better reserve a table. Good for a group gatherings

Without question the very best service, food, and beer in Nuremberg. You’re essentially eating in a quaint 500 old restaurant that still serves quality food. Not to be missed if you are in town. Try the crispy pork, absolutely outstanding dish! Kaiserschmarrn dessert was really great as well.

We are part of a 40+ people tour and this was the restaurant selected for our dinner. I believe they opened for our group as they are not usually open on Sunday's, so thank you!! Dated back to the 1500's, this fine location, according to the owner, has always been a restaurant. Lots of fine detail in the metalworks, decor and more. The owner and family members served us all in 3 separate rooms, in order to accommodate us all, and did so with class, patience, speed and kindness. We started with a green salad with homemade dressing which was yummy, followed by a main of roast pork, potatoes and saurkraut, the portion sizes were large. Dessert was amazing! Warm apple strudel on top of a lovely cream colored sauce, adorned with fruit and whipped cream - it was the best dessert I've had on our tour so far!! I would highly recommend if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed. My only suggestion would have been to have some authentic music in the background, not loud, just background, other than that, I have no other suggestions.

Fried potatoes are one of my favorite foods in the world, and we chose this restaurant because they serve Nürnberger Rostbratwurst with fried potatoes and the rating was high enough to overlook the high prices. However, I was very disappointed with the taste of the potatoes - they tasted like they were fried in margarine. The sausages were not tasty either - they were quite average compared to the sausages at Bratwurstglöcklein and Burgwächter. The portions are generous, sauerkraut was tasty, as was the salad. I can't comment on the other dishes, but I definitely don't recommend the sausages with fried potatoes.

We came here 2 years ago, just before the pandemic and had good memories of great food and friendly service. It was just how we remembered it. Fortunately it's still going strong serving fantastic traditional food in a great atmosphere with very friendly service. Highly recommended.

Very unique restaurant. More of a Gastropub than traditional German. Hostess and service staff was rather rude and near to impossible to get a seat. You’re much better off just walking down the street to any other authentic German restaurant, not only will you save on price but you will save on the headache as well.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for the name of the waitress, she was relaxed, attentive, patient and delightful. And spoke English. A wonderful lady. Me and my siblings came in by accident, and were immediately attracted by a very warm atmosphere. All the places were taken, however we were friendly informed that there will be a place in 45 minutes, so we booked. Once we're landed, we ate from the day menu and the regular menu. Mushrooms soup, delicious meat, vegetarian dishes and a fantastic desert. I must say, the place is a gem and again, the service was brilliant. Thank you so much!!!

Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the house through guided tours led by costumed guides, like Agnes Durer, who share stories about life in the museum's six rooms.
Excellent food and views of the front square. We sat outdoors and was a bit chilly but they provided blankets. Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. They have indoors seating as well. Highly highly recommend this restaurant and if possible sit outdoors to enjoy the views.

The restaurant is located in a realy beautiful location although inside the restaurant there is nothing really special, more for people that prefer simplicity. The stuff are friendly and nice but it takes quite some time for them to deliver as there is just not enough stuff. The food was good but not amazing. Overall experience was pleasant.

We came just after 20:00 on a saturday, in the hope some people would be done with dinner. Lucky enough a table had just come free. But very popular and busy place for sure. Service was decent. Drinks were good. Food was okay. I've been here 6 years earlier , but I remember a way better Schnitzel and kartoffelsalat. This was a bit mediocre for German standards in my opinion. Bit dry Schnitzel, kartoffelsalat lacked taste. Definitely not bad though.

Food was great, service was friendly, and you get to sit with a great view if you can snag a patio seat. The Munich pretzel pizza was very tasty!

Be sure to note, the small restaurant had no more space for walk-in customers even on a Monday evening. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was served without much waiting. The offer includes traditional Franconian cuisine without big frills.

The place was very welcoming, with a traditional taste to it. The food was filling and great, with district taste. I took the sausages (typical of Nuremberg) with the potatoes (nice!!) and Käsespätzle (egg and cheese), which was quite satisfying. One of the owners was also particularly kind and gentle, and he gifted us a Christmas tiramisu, made with cinnamon cookies - which was also great. Overall great experience, would recommend!

Nestled within the historic walls of a castle, Restaurant Burgwächter offers an authentic dining experience that perfectly captures the essence of regional German cuisine. With its rustic charm and two inviting terraces shaded by trees, this tavern is an ideal spot to unwind while enjoying stunning views of Nuremberg. The menu features traditional dishes like Nürnberger bratwurst, schnitzel, Spätzle, and haxe—each dish reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the area.
My visit wasn't planned. I was at the castle and happened to come across this restaurant. Since I hadn’t had breakfast, I decided to have lunch here. The food was amazing – the crispy skin and tender meat were perfectly cooked, making it a truly satisfying meal. The portion was huge though, that I couldn't finish it.

A very good restaurant in the centre of Nuremberg. I liked that it was quiet but I think it can get very busy. I felt cosy there, a really good place to get your buddies out for a drink or for food. We got the Nuremberg sausages with potato salad, and also a portion of Cheese Spätzle. Very good. Just a bit salt for my buds, as I don't add it anymore to food, but I would say a well balanced value price. And the staff was very friendly. Thank you!

Traditional German Restaurant in Nuremberg This charming restaurant is perfectly located next to the famous Nuremberg Castle, adding to its enchanting atmosphere. I tried the local dish Schäufele, a special pork cut cooked for three hours, tender like butter, and paired it with a slightly smoky dark beer. It’s easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Germany. The service was outstanding—friendly and attentive from start to finish. They even offered a beer tasting to help me choose the right one. The architecture is also worth noting, reflecting the traditional Nuremberg style, and there’s a terrace with a view of the castle and city. Though it was too windy and cold to sit outside, the indoor setting was cozy and inviting. Prices are fair, and the location is ideal if you’re visiting the castle and surrounding area. I would return to Nuremberg just to dine here again. 5/5!

This is such a cozy place. The server was friendly and the food was excellent. Definitely get the pretzels and cheese. Enjoyed the whole meal. The potato salad is nothing like American (which I don't like) and was very good. The sauerkraut also tasted very different but was so wonderful.

Amazing American-style diner in the outskirts of the city, but definitely worth a visit if you're in for something decadent. Their burger menu is mouth-watering and their ribs are fantastic. They have a Biergarten to enjoy during sunny weather, and the inside is decorated American diner style. I've tried the BBQ ribs, the buffalo wings, the blue cheese burger and they all have been fantastic (so much so that I barely had time to take photos)

Not the best meal. Not great but also not tasteless. Burger - big, BBQ sauce (ordinary taste) overall not extraordinary, 🍟 good and not to fatty 👌. Ribs - fresh, really good cooked - you can really enjoy eating. Wings BBQ- ok but not extraordinary. Every one has different taste. Probably my taste is not as yours. Overall too expensive for ordinary experience. Something is missing in this culinary story. You should try and make your own decision. From my point of view once or twice per year I check in here.

DRINK: I took homemade lemonade and personally, I would give that drink a 2 star only. I didn’t like it. It felt only very little lemon has been squeezed into a lot of water. So, it tasted very bland and weird. MAIN COURSE: I ordered a classic dish from them: knuspriges schäufele mit dinkelbiersoße. It was VERY delicious. The knodel was also so good. The meat was soooo well cooked, it was crispy and yet soft on the inside. Oh 😍. I would highly recommend it. The sauce was complimenting the meat really well and so was the sauerkraut. The knodel was soft and spongy. I really enjoyed the food! 🤤 DESSERT: I ordered Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce and it was also very tasty. Not too sweet - just as I like it. It had raisins in it too which was giving it a good taste. Soft. Also recommended. 😃 LOCATION: Definitely worth it to visit and enjoy the atmosphere. It was Awesome!!!

Great cozy cafe in the centre of Nuremberg, the staff was very friendly and the coffee was good. The prices were also very good. Cafe Bar Wanderer is located at Beim Tiergärtnertor just below the Nuremberg Castle in the north section of the Old Town. They have a restaurant as well as a detached and separate bar where we were able to enjoy Gluhwein during the recent annual Christmas Market. A little bit touristy, but coming from the UK where we also have medieval structures and castles it was quite difficult (for a foreigner) to tell how fake it was. Maybe I'm just a skeptic. The location of the restaurant is quite lovely and we had a good time with some good beer. I'm also very appreciative that they offer a vegan option. Every way should have a goal. And for our bike trip, it was Bavarian sausage and cabbage in the beautiful city of Nuremberg. The goal was achieved, the only thing missing to perfection was a pretzel instead of bread (exchange instead of bread was not possible) and that great sweet Bavarian mustard. But we still enjoyed our destination 😅.

The burger was great,we enjoyed lunch time there and will definitely come back again. And the guy on service this afternoon was really cool, friendly & very calm. We forgot to get his name 😊. Would be great if you guys will add sweet potatoes fries on your list

Cafe Bar Katz is a retro-hip cafe located in Nuremberg Old Town, offering a variety of soups, sandwiches, and bowls that change daily. In addition to artisanal coffee and cream cakes, they also serve alcoholic drinks. The cafe has a laid-back atmosphere with vintage interior and a sidewalk terrace where you can enjoy drinks like Aperol Spritz or wine while people-watching during the summer.
The food is extremely delicious. With apricot jam, goat cheese, sesame leaves, and tomato they blend wonderfully together and is super cheap. It is very crowded at night since people come for the food and atmosphere. The food is served efficiently though. Will surely want to try different dishes!
Tina Y — Google review
One of the nicest cafés in Nuremberg – cozy atmosphere and a warm, lively vibe. The coffee is delicious, and the food menu is varied, but what really makes this place stand out are the staff. Their kindness and welcoming smiles truly elevate the whole experience. From the very first visit, you feel at home. Honestly, the staff here are the best – thank you for such outstanding service!
Our_discoveries5 — Google review
Cute little bar with mismatched furniture and eclectic decor. The food menu is small but creative. We enjoyed the pressed sandwiches we ordered!
Laura F — Google review
The place is located close to downtown but in a really relax area, which I love because you don’t get the noise of the city but in few steps you are in the heart of the city. I would put this place more as a bistro than a pure coffee. The prices are fair and have space inside and outside for when the weather is nice. They have a selection of fresh home made cakes that are really nice with the correct amount of sweetness. Their beer menu is very good together with the cocktails, better than their coffee selection I must say. The only downside for me is the kind of atmosphere, the deco is pretty retro chic cool but every time I am there I feel kind of uncomfortable because attracts an specific customer that makes me feel uncomfortable. But again, that is just me.

The staff is super nice and friendly. The ambience is really chill. Good to hang out with friends here but the selection of food is limited esp for breakfast.
Cindy C — Google review
Nice vintage bar in the city center of Nürnberg. The coffee is really good and they also serve food. My cake was great. The waitress was polite and attentive. It was a bit crowded, but the terrace wasn't in use because it was raining. I'm sure it's very nice when the sun is shining... A bit hipster though.

Nice little cafe/bar! Service was very friendly, location had a cool 70s flair! Definitely worth a try! Prices absutely fair!

Franconian restaurant
Urban restaurant Fränk'ness offers a delicious mix of traditional and street food. The creative menu is perfect for a casual dining experience in the historic centre of Nuremberg. There are plenty of vegetarian options, which I really enjoyed, but don't miss the big chunks of vegetables on pizza!
I really like this place not only because of the quality of the foods, the creativity in culinary but also the friendliness of the chefs, staff I went there by myself to celebrate my birthday & they really warmed my heart with good foods, good atmosphere, good services I even got an extra dessert from one of the chef 😍 Amazing experience

Nice ambiance, average food. We ordered the Steak Tartare as an appetizer and were told it was small and we should order 2 for the 3 of us. We declined but did order the bread which was then recommended. The steak tartare was rather huge actually so we were stunned and felt kind of scammed. The bread slices with the tartare really too thick and HARD to spread the tartare on. The egg served with the tartare is usually a quail egg but we got a HUGE chicken egg. Unusual that grilled mushrooms also came with the tartare and were so so. The house bread albeit warm was more of a banana bread (not sweet though) and didn’t go well with the tartare either. My son’s sausage platter was okay. My friend’s salad bread bowl and soup per the lunch special was disappointing as it was small and tasteless. My vegetable ramen was more of a clean the refrigerator out of anything that is seemingly Asian and dump it into a bowl with spaghetti noodles. Ugh. Mediocre dining experience for my only visit to Nurnberg!

Nice atmosphere. The food was okay — the pork and chicken were a bit dry, but still flavorful. Very close to the hotels.

Disappointing experience when we stopped for lunch this Wednesday 1.11.2023. The service was terrible, we waited extremely long even for a bottle of water. The waiters were slow and inattentive, mistook multiple requests, gave unrelated excuses - and the restaurant was 3/4 empty! The food was good but the portions are ridiculously small - but expensive of course. We won’t come again and won’t recommend it to anyone. 🤷🏻‍♀️ really expected more from an AH restaurant. Edit: Fourth time the restaurant tries to delete my review. If you had apologized or reacted any other way I would have met you in the middle. But no, you prefer to take legal measures to remove an honest review?
Laura D — Google review
Excellent food at very good location. The restaurant serves traditional food but with a modern twist. The restaurant looks really nice but we have been sitting outside. Unfortunately, since we were with 3 people we were unable to try sharing plates (gigantic wooden planks with a variety of food from the menu). However, we were satisfied with the single dishes. I would recommend this place.
Tanja Z — Google review
Very attentive and friendly waiters. They can speak English, apart from German, without any problems. The restaurant has a modern vibe to it. The food was good, but on the upper scale price-wise. If you don't mind spending a bit more, then this is the perfect restaurant to have a nice evening.

We came to Frank‘ness for lunch after having a wonderful dinner here the night before. We ordered a couple of burgers which were very flavourful however the burger itself was a little too rare for our taste. We mentioned it to Tanja who was serving us and she very lovely about it and the chef Loraine treated us to a chocolate cake and berries to make it up to us. Overall we had a good experience.
Gerard F — Google review
Excellent restaurant, great food for a reasonable price. We got the 4 course meat menu (there is also the vegetarian menu) and were completely satisfied at the end, they are well sized. The service is top level too, what you would expect in such a restaurant. Highly recommended! Additional: I got to know this restaurant because of their nice hamburgers, but in the dinner menu there is no hamburger anymore. I asked the waitress and she explained they have changed the concept and now they only offer 1 option of hamburger during lunch time.

They sell pretzels with many stuffing options, butter, cheese, veggie, meat, etc. pretzels taste very good especially the butter ones. Service is fast. Staff are friendly and speak English. Only problem is they don’t accept cards payment!! Area is interesting to explore in downtown Nurenburg. Many seating options around.

I tried the pretzel with butter (1.90€) on a coldish Friday afternoon. It was very tough to chew so I was quite disappointed. Maybe they're better if they were warmer.

(Translated by Google) We tried the pretzels here based on a recommendation from a local blog post. They were definitely the best in town, and also the cheapest. I recommend everyone who visits try one. (Original) Lokal bir blog yazısındaki tavsiye üzerine buradaki pretzeli denedik. Kesinlikle şehirdeki en iyisiydi. Hem de en ucuzu. (Translated by Google) Truly a disgrace! At Kolb itself, a chive butter pretzel costs €2.30 at the Kolb stand at Müller's; across from St. Lawrence Church, a butter pretzel costs €2, and the chive butter pretzel costs €3.20! That's completely out of proportion. When asked, Kolb himself isn't thrilled about it either. But the stand owners set their own prices. Better to eat it without chives ;-). Still, the Kolb pretzels are the best! Lieber ohne Schnitlauch essen ;-). Trotzdem sind die Kolbbrezen die Besten!

(Translated by Google) This pretzel stand is legendary! Brezen Kolb already has the best pretzels, but the service here...let me just say this: When I'm in a good mood, my smile brightens up even more, and when I'm in a bad mood, it's not just the Nutella pretzels that sweeten my day, but also the friendly chat with the waitress (no matter who they are). The world would be a better place if there were more people like this...

Takeout Restaurant
If you find yourself wandering the charming streets of Nuremberg, make sure to stop by Schlemmer Eck for a delightful culinary experience. This hidden gem specializes in the city's famous Drei im Weckla, which features three succulent Nuremberg sausages nestled in a soft white bun and topped with mustard—perfect for those on-the-go moments! Located just off Brunnengasse, this spot is beloved by locals not only for its delicious sausages but also for its affordable prices.
A great place to get a very tasty sausage sandwich. This is a small food stand with just a few outdoor seats, and it only takes cash (no credit cards)

The guy preparing meals touches both, food and money, by his bare hands. Its totally disgusting.
