Tiny space, walls lined with old records, the smell of whiskey and nostalgia in the air. Ordered a beer just to start slow, but ended up talking to the bartender about their ridiculous collection of single malts and switched to smoky Laphroaig because, why not? Music was all vinyl – rock, punk, blues, none of that generic club garbage – and everyone was vibing like they actually listened to the music instead of just using it as background noise for selfies. The place got packed fast, shoulder-to-shoulder type packed, but somehow it felt cozy instead of suffocating. People were chill, no posers, just locals and random travelers squeezed together sharing stories and drinks. Left smelling like an old record store and loving it. Definitely the kind of bar that makes you feel cooler just for being there.

A great place on the best street in Nürnburg.

It's a small bar with a large variety of spirits of very good quality. It's like wonderland. The music is always excellent and the atmosphere starts out cozy, then as the night progresses it becomes crazy because it gets crowded but still nice and friendly.

Context - I’m a tourist so my experience may be different from locals visiting this bar. I’m here to talk about my experience and some constructive critique from the lens of a tourist. We are both bartenders in the USA and would not recommend this bar to any out-of-towners. We walked in on Wednesday, October 2nd in the evening. There were 12 people in there total (I ended up counting because of how ridiculous the service was). We walked straight to the bar and it took the bartenders 15 minutes to even acknowledge us and take our order. Another 5 minutes to pour two glasses of red wine. They were either cleaning or talking to other guests. The #1 priority as a bartender is making sure every guest has a drink in their hand before cleaning/socializing. When I bartend and I see a guest looking at me with their credit card in hand, I acknowledge them immediately and take their order as soon as I can. A simple smile or “I’ll be with you” or “one moment, please” would have been nice. Then we sat down on what seemed to be 2 empty seats at the bar (no jackets or purses left). A bartender came up to us and said we can’t sit there because the other guests were just smoking outside. We didn’t want to cause issues so we moved to a standing table. Never heard of bartenders saving seats at the bar but ok. Then we went to order some shots. The female bartender made eye contact with my boyfriend (who had his wallet out and ready to order), nodded, and turned around. At this point, we were angry. Then she went to another German-speaking guest who walked to the bar AFTER us and took her order. That guest also sat on a chair that “belonged” to someone who was smoking outside but the bartender didn’t say anything to her. On the brighter side, we loved the Eisschnaps Caretta shots. The only reason why we stayed there. If you are not a local or if you can’t speak German that well, I would not recommend this place. We ended up going to KonTiki and had a great time with the staff there. I can see Mata Hari being a good spot for locals. Just not for tourists.

Brilliant atmosphere, the guys behind the bar were excellent - looked after us, and watching them prepare the cocktails was a sheer delight. The cocktails (we had a lot) were the best I have had in Nürnberg and most places I have visited. Along with the classics (Caipi, Whisky Sour, Bloody Mary etc. ) there were other great cocktails I can recommend the Whisky sour continental and the Anglo Americano

No food. Service can be slow when they get busy. It's pay as you go with credit card or cash. Small but cozy. Standing tables. Thursday night is 80s music with DJ Howie. Good stop if you are bar hopping.

The vegan wrap was delicious 😋. Service was good and efficient. A bit pricey, but it is the big city. We wanted to eat outside but we're infested with bees. There were even dead bees 🐝 on the table and benches.

Nice burgers for the value you pay. Food was delivered quite fast and was delicious. There is plenty of choice for vegetarian options (burgers). Note: you can also "tune" your burgers or in other words add extra ingredients to your burger of choice. We also recommend the lemonade they make.

Great and centric place. Ordered an avocado hamburger and was delicious. Won't take it with multigrain bread next time as it kind of breaks apart. Staff really nice. Will repeat.

Was here like a month ago and planning to take some friends there again. Awesome food, with generous portions. Had a burgers and it's one of the best I have ever had. Amazing sauce choices as well.

Called in for our evening meal what a great place. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was excellent with a good selection of drinks. The restaurant was spotlessly clean with some good music on. We had the currywurst and a veggie burger both really tasty. Thank you.

I had high hopes for this restaurant. We arrived and the place was 75% empty with three staff members working the room. We were seated at 1100. We watched two servers talk and clear a large table in record “slow time”. At 11:20 our drinks and food were ordered. At 12:05 our food was delivered. My water glass had a dangerous sharp chip in the rim. The staff is young and inattentive. Sadly I can’t recommend this restaurant.

The relationship between price and quality is splendid. The tapas and pizza were awesome. The staff were great, specially the girl that attended us, she was very nice. If I come back to Nuremberg, I will return to this restaurant. Tiramisu? Superlative.

For ppl of all ages .. the most relaxing place gor me in Nuremberg. It is awfully full on Fridays and Saturdays in the late evenings though. You can sit outside and also inside though the music inside is usually a bit loud.😅 I still love it and us friends always hang out here every weekend! ✌🏼

A wonderful bar by the river… One of the places we enjoyed the most in Nuremberg. Here, you can savor Riesling wines and beers.

While walking along the river, I was drawn in on impulse because the place looked so inviting from the outside. Unfortunately, I forgot to take any photos of the interior. On Wednesday around 9 PM, the indoor seating was spacious, while the outdoor area was completely packed. We didn’t order food, just cocktails, but with that view at this price, it felt absolutely worth it. The sound of the river flowing alongside the lively chatter of people made the atmosphere nothing short of perfect..

This restaurant had gorgeous views along the river. I tried a vegetarian burger with sweet potato fries which was nice. I also tried a German dessert called a Kaiserschmarn that I really enjoyed. The server was very friendly too. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Service is slow. I had to stand up and look for the waitress at least twice. But the food is good and the atmosphere is great!

Great cozy cafe in the centre of Nuremberg, the staff was very friendly and the coffee was good. The prices were also very good. Only improvement in my opinion can be the toilet, it was fine but definitely could be better maintained, also, try to have cash on you, but that goes for most of Germany. I will be back if in the area!

Cafe Bar Wanderer is located at Beim Tiergärtnertor just below the Nuremberg Castle in the north section of the Old Town. They have a restaurant as well as a detached and separate bar where we were able to enjoy Gluhwein during the recent annual Christmas Market. There are standing tables outstand the bar where you can have your mulled wine, prices and glass deposits are similar to what you will find throughout Nuremburg. We really enjoyed having gluhwein at this particular location, it is quite atmospheric on cold winter days.

This place is a staple of Nuremberg! It is one of those places where you can simply lounge around, get a beer or a glass of wine, and simply enjoy life! If you’ve never been to Cafe Wanderer and Bieramt, grab a couple of friends and enjoy a wonderful time, watching people go by, surrounded by historical buildings. Fancy yourself a bit of alone time? I am absolutely impressed with this place. The restaurant is small but very cozy, and the whole concept is fantastic. The food is delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully served. I truly enjoyed every moment and I can’t wait to come back.

Decent casual fine dining restaurant. For disclosure my latest visit was for a private dinner celebration so might be slightly different from a normal service. But here's what I can share: Cozy, yet smart hybrid of dining room and bar area with a semi open kitchen, hence the name. The owner/chef was an excellent host and managed a formidable multi course menu out of the tiny kitchen. Proteins and veggies seem to be all sourced regionally. The meat dishes were indeed quite nice, like the slices of pork belly with blood sausage or rump steak as the main. A common trait of all dishes was a certain rustic boldness with a lot of umami and generally a lot of flavor. For my liking this got a bit tiresome over the evening as I missed some finesse. I haven't seen the wine list but the selection of Riesling and Chardonnay on our table was spot on. Overall, definitely a place to to have in mind when in Nuremberg and in the mood for an upscale yet casual dinner.

Very fortunate to have discovered this restaurant during our visit to Nürnberg. Went for dinner and it was simply amazing. First the location is in a quite part of town and the restaurant was mostly visited by what seemed to be locals. We chose the tasting menu and paired wine with it. As you can clearly see from the pictures, all the food was a work of art. We were lucky to be seated at the chefs table and could easily watch many meals prepared. Very unique restaurant and definitely worth visiting.

This is an amazingly great restaurant. I loved everything here: the feel at home atmosphere, the careful and friendly service, the freedom to pick and choose everything you want on the menu, and above all the incredible quality of meals. Thumbs up!

Came into town to visit my sister who has been living here and she brought me to her favorite restaurant for our final dinner of my trip. The food was amazing. Be ready for a long dinner because we got there at 630 and left around 10. Out of our group of 4 we had ordered every dish on the menu. It is too bad that the menu changes every 3 weeks since by the time some people read this. The menu items won't be on the menu anymore. Make sure to call in for a reservation

The place is located close to downtown but in a really relax area, which I love because you don’t get the noise of the city but in few steps you are in the heart of the city. I would put this place more as a bistro than a pure coffee. The prices are fair and have space inside and outside for when the weather is nice. They have a selection of fresh home made cakes that are really nice with the correct amount of sweetness. Their beer menu is very good together with the cocktails, better than their coffee selection I must say. The only downside for me is the kind of atmosphere, the deco is pretty retro chic cool but every time I am there I feel kind of uncomfortable because attracts an specific customer that makes me feel uncomfortable. But again, that is just me.

Nice vintage bar in the city center of Nürnberg. The coffee is really good and they also serve food. My cake was great. The waitress was polite and attentive. It was a bit crowded, but the terrace wasn't in use because it was raining. I'm sure it's very nice when the sun is shining... A bit hipster though.

Service was really good, great staff. Beer was good as always. Burger was fair price and size but the bread was a bit old and the meat could have more flavor.

Great pub to have a drink at and have a quick bite. Started with a Guinness and had a cheeseburger to complete the meal. Cheeseburger came out good, but the bread was one that crumbles as you start to eat it. Not a big deal, just not too enthusiastic about it. Guinea’s as always was on point. This is a good place to people watch during the day.

DEEP FRIED NUREMBERGER SAUSAGES!!! Who the hell deep fry’s mini-bratwurst. This made my stomach turn and tasted like pure grease. I will never be coming back to this “pub” again.

Great grungy bar! Didn’t get to try the food but definitely would consider it! The beer selection was very broad and the bartenders were very helpful in finding the right beer for the right palate. A good spot to pop into for a pint before a date night! Was able to walk right in and find a spot on a Thursday night!

An excellent craft beer bar in the center of Nuremberg. Cozy interior design. Friendly, helpful bartender. Great German beers on tap. The prices were painfully high, considering that we ordered half-liter beers instead of the usual standard size. What could we do, we were thirsty! Otherwise, it was really delicious. Recommended if you are familiar with the usual flavors and prices. 5 stars!

Honestly, there’s not much “craft” about this craft beer place. The menu is very limited and almost impossible to read since the font looks like size 10. I specifically asked for a stout beer, but the bartender had no idea what I was talking about, which already told me they’re not really specialists in beer varieties. The place itself is nice-looking, but the prices are extremely high and it’s really not worth it. The table menus were quite sticky, which was a bit gross to handle. On the positive side, it’s very convenient that they only accept card payments, definitely a plus. They also offer cocktails and some wines, but honestly, they should focus on one thing and do it well.

If you are a beer lover, this is the best you will find in Nuremberg! Excellent friendly staff with lots of beers choices. The decor is perfect. They left no stone unturned. Look all around for the beer Easter eggs! I would definitely come back. Thanks for the fun time and great beer!!!

Went there fit a birthday celebration, the beer was very good, the food was tasty - but the food service was very very slow, we ordered an additional Obatzter (which is basically just the cheese on the plate) which took about 40 minutes (!) to arrive after two reminders. Generally service was friendly, most drinks came quick. Next time I’m coming there I will eat dinner before and just enjoy their great beer choice!

The lady at the bar is nice. I arrived with my gf, she did her best to find a drink that suits my gf offering a few alternatives. The beer selection is clear and simple: few but really good kinds. The bar is well decorated, certainly a place to take some pictures. Also many locals, which is always a good sign.

Really cool bar, record shop and downstairs venue at the weekends. The guy who owns the record shop, runs the bar and dj's at night is a top man and offered us some good tips on where else to go.

Top location and friendly and communicated staff. Food was good. Close to the Castle. If you come with a group, it is fun to stay for couple of hours.

A very nice, small local pub! No fancy style, just simple lovely atmosphere!

Cozy place with a great ambience. Its a different world inside with disco lights and lots of paintings which you can never guess from the streets. The housemade Mexicana shot is a must try and the prices are affordable. Rush is high during weekends watch out for the seats.

Not safe for girls. Some guys were harassing the girls, cornering them, disturbing on the dance floor and the security at the door still kept those guys in the club despite girls’ complaints. Would not recommend.

Very rude bouncer and staff. I went out for a cigarette and could never come back in again, tried to talk to the guy and he was very unreasonable pushing people and screaming in our faces, and then letting only some selected people come in. Tried to talk to the guy more than 4 times and he was just plain rude and then started saying I offended him and couldn’t come in anymore. So basically I paid to get kicked out, get called names and screamed at my face. Never go back again to this place, learn how to treat people better.

Great find off the main drag and so cheaper than the more touristy places. Popular with younger people mainly, mostly local I think. Didn't eat but the dunkel was excellent, ditto the service and hospitality. Just a shame it's closed on Sundays and Mondays otherwise we'd be back!

Cute and quaint little place. This is close to the tourist areas but not a tourist trap. The vibe is very chill. The drinks are well priced for the area and are a great mix of local craft beers. Didn’t try the food so I won’t comment on that. Great place to try that is off the main tourist area. Bring cash they don’t accept cards. I walked in with 20€ and that was more than enough.

One of my favourite cocktail bars in Nürnberg. After the move to this new location I like it even more. 😍 The indoor bar is light and has lots of space and seats. The huge glass cupboards display their full range of spirits, whiskeys and other delicious ingredients. The outdoor sitting area is nice and cosy with some flowers. The nearby street is not too busy. The cocktails are awesome! Take some time to go through the menu because it is huge. Ask for additional special menus containing only specific licours. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Good place to have a cocktail in Nuremberg. Drinks are good and menu is long enough. Prices are a bit high for the area. Deco is something they really need to improve and the second room could be from any average restaurant in the world. Service is OK, but I didn't like that a waitress asked me to tip.

One of the best bar in town !

Went here with a group of international people. The owner of this bar were intentionally against speaking English with the guests and showed an atmosphere of disrespect which I’ve never experienced anywhere in Nuremberg. The drinks were actually good, but we couldn’t enjoy them too long as we got threw out of the bar cause some of our people ordered a Radler as a starter and apparently it raised concerns towards the bar owner to order something below the 12€ minimum fee. The bar called it “the guests are not fulfilling their contract”. I’ve also never experienced in a bar the behavior of just asking 4 of 7 people what they want to drink and ignore the rest of it. If you do not want to have international people in your bar, just mention it the next time at the entrance. Will never go there again.

Came here on a return visit whilst on holiday. Such a lovely atmosphere, great staff who are more than willing to recommend local beer which is reasonably priced. Patrons are lovely and made us feel incredibly welcome.

The bar is cosy and the staff very welcoming. Unfortunatelly after 10min inside they decided to crank up the music volume so loud it was impossible to hear a person in front of you, totally making the place unbearable to be inside. We chugged our drinks in a hurry and left.

I didn't go inside since the weather was nice outside. The server was really cool. However i cannot justify the prices of the drinks. The drinks have cool names but i personally cannot take the difference between a bourbon from the store and a 15 year aged bourbon. The drinks here also have interesting\sophisticated looks to them. I suppose what you are paying for is the more elegant experience?

Super cozy bar with great and super friendly service! The cocktails are a little more expensive, but simply the best! In visit worthwhile in any case, especially wen you know what you like to drink (classy cocktails). However, nothing for "long Island iced tea" drinkers;)

I've been to the Vintage Bar on numerous occasions and have always left satisfied. The professionalism and courtesy of the staff is second to none. I have always felt welcomed and enjoy the atmosphere they create. I suggest sitting at the bar and watching these experts mix drinks as it is hypnotic. You can't go wrong.

Excellent drinks and very friendly staff. Don't be afraid to ring the doorbell to get inside. It's totally worth it. The Old Fashion hit the spot and my wife loved The Vanderbilt. Strong and tasty!

I don’t know where are these positive reviews coming from. I was excited to try out the cocktails after I read all the reviews here and that makes it feel like a drop to from the heaven straight to the hell after the first sip of my Moscow Mule. I didn’t prepare to have a bad Moscow Mule like that here in a high rated cocktail bar. I might have too high expectation and I might be not a cocktail expert but it was even worst than a cocktail that served at a random restaurant. I thought that the Hugo at Enchilada (with schweppes zero sugar mixer) was the worst cocktail that I could have in my life but no, Moscow Mule at Europa won the competion. I live just a few doors away and everytime I walked by I wanted to walk in and try out the best cocktails in the city- refering to the other’s reviews. No, it’s not worth a try. I was too disapointed to give it the 3rd sip ( forced myself to take the 2nd sip as I didn’t want to waste a 10ish euro for a 120ml Moscow Mule but not drinking it). But still, I couldn’t. You will not have my trust again, not even bothered to try another one because I was totally disapointed. Maybe it was only me that having no idea about the “authentic cocktails- true cocktails lover”. I made myself disapointed with my own expectations?

They have all cocktails you could imagine and use quality alcohol for mixing the drinks. Great atmosphere and decent prices

Nice bar with a long drinks menu well served by the bartenders. They also serve you snacks with the cocktails. Possibility of enjoying the terrace in summer season. Prices are in the common range but I consider they should be a bit lower. The contras are: it's far away from the city center; the venue is a bit narrow; and the staff is not very smiley.

Here you can find your favorite classic cocktails but you should definitely come for the selection of Gin. Dressed in white coats, the bartenders will serve you a perfect G&T. It is a small space, so I wouldn't recommend to go in a big group.
