Nestled on the shores of Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia, Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre offers a luxurious seaside retreat with stunning Atlantic views. The resort features upscale accommodations including guestrooms, chalets, and villas. Guests can enjoy various amenities such as multiple pools, a fitness center, and a spa.
Oak Island was the perfect spot to get married. The planning and catering team was fantastic and very organized. The food was amazing. The front desk staff (and all the staff honestly) were super friendly. The venue itself is newly renovated and stunning. There is not one negative thing we could say about it. Thank you for hosting our special day.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Oak Island marina over the weekend. So many things for kids to do including swimming, paddling, and nature walks. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and the amenities available for those staying at the marina are truly unmatched in the province. We can't wait to go back!

I am not fancy, so I don't need any service besides the front desk to check in and out. The restaurant is delicious, but so over priced. Find something local to eat instead. The rooms are modest, basic, relatively clean from what I've seen. The water pressure is horrible though. The shower is like a trickle. Beds are a bit weird, no fitted sheets just some kind of pad on the mattress and a super thin flat sheet. Beds are firm, which I like, but others might find it to hard. The pillows are not great for side sleepers, which I am, so the nights are adequate but not awesome. Location is cute and quaint. Very much a typical Nova Scotia experience. Parking is fine, I've never lacked space. They still have basic cable in the rooms. Provide bar soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, shaving cream and make up remover. Hairdryer and towels in the bathroom. No tubs, only walk in shower. The place is dated but we'll maintained. The only thing I'd wish they would update are the carpets. Carpets in general are disgusting, no amount of vacuuming is going to get them clean. They should change these to laminate like motel 6. Far cleaner and easier to clean.

Stayed in the 4 bedroom cottage. Everything that's needed for a normal day is there. Toaster, over, full sized fridge, 2 A/C units, and plenty of space for 5 kids and 6 adults. Has a very nice deck with BBQ and a fire pit area with an awesome view of the coast. Me and my wife will be coming back without the kiddos to enjoy the area some more.

This has been a terrible experience. We came for a family vacation with our two children and the music at night was so loud no one could sleep. When we asked for a quieter room the room we were offered was one that smelled strongly of smoke. The hot tub was dirty. There was excrement/feces (human? animal?) on the hot tub/pool deck. We stayed 4 nights and it was never cleaned off. We are often in the area visiting family but we will not come back here again. We are extremely disappointed.
Vanessa S — Google review
We were made to feel special just for being there. From the wait staff in the restaurant to the front desk and everyone we came in contact during our three day visit, we were treated like royalty. Access to the game rooms, exercise room and pool area left us wanting to stay longer. Love, love, love you guys.
MaryAnne W — Google review
The room I was staying in was amazing. The food was great too. The indoor pool was slimy and nasty though. The walls of it were covered in this black tar that looks to be rubbing off in the water. Almost looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
Braedon H — Google review
Three stars due to pricing on the drinks at the bar at 17$ each. Steep pricing. But room was great & hotel clean. Hot tub could not see the bottom very dirty.

White Point Beach Resort is a charming and relaxed retreat located just two hours south of Halifax. The resort offers a range of accommodations including cozy hotel rooms, cottages, and lodges. Guests can enjoy the private sandy beach, indoor heated pool, spa facilities, and a nine-hole golf course. With its rich history as a hunting and fishing lodge turned modern oceanfront beach resort, White Point Beach Resort guarantees a luxurious vacation experience in Nova Scotia.
This was our first time at White Point Beach Resort, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The beach is beautiful and the staff were l friendly. There are a lot of kids, but the pool becomes adult only later in the evening which is a nice option for a peaceful swim, and the pool staff were fantastic. The food was excellent. We had the fish and chips and were very impressed by the portion size. We stayed in an ocean view room which had a cozy, camping-like feel since you walk to the main lodge. If you are traveling with a senior or someone with mobility issues, I would suggest booking a room in the main lodge instead. The bunnies all over the property were a highlight of the trip, such a unique and charming detail and so cute!

Great honeymoon weekend with the wife. Our second visit here. We got the romance package and stayed in a glome. Loved the chocolate covered stawberrys and Nova 7 wine. Just a short peacefull walk away from the main house where we ate. We had 2 suppers and 2 breakfast. The supper is amazing. I had the beef shortribs both night and the wife had the mushroom afredo. Very good. Shout out to James, our waiter. He made us feel very welcome and had some laughs. The beach was beautiful and we couldnt have asked for a better weekend. I hope to get a tree house next time. If you are thinking about staying here, do it! It has so much character and is a magical getaway. Until next time WP. Love Justin&Chels

We stayed in the Ocean Front King Cottage, 1 of 2 newer cottages @ the resort, in September. We absolutely loved our experience! We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary, & spent 2 nights.... wish we had booked more!!! All staff encountered (especially Housekeeping) were wonderful... friendly, helpful, and accommodating!!! Thank you!! The cottage was beautiful, the Beach was amazing!!! I still hear the sounds of the "ocean" waves crashing on the shore!!! We dined @ Elliott's & the beef short rib was amazing!!! Outdoors, there are bunnies everywhere!!! We would definitely recommend for families, especially with the programming available. Thank you for such a wonderful memory!!!

White Point Beach Resort is one of my favourite places to visit. This was my second trip there. Located by the beach and surrounded by water, the resort is beautifully spread out and offers an amazing atmosphere. With numerous in-house amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, golf course, and spaces for pickleball and volleyball, it truly stands out as a top choice for a getaway. It’s the perfect spot for a group trip or a relaxing night out. The restaurant and bar are excellent, offering great food and service. The only downside, in my opinion, is their very specific and early restaurant and breakfast timings. Otherwise, White Point Beach Resort is definitely a place worth visiting.

It's gorgeous. The "lakeside" glomes (really lake side with ocean views!) are comfortable, private, and luxurious. A private hot tub?! Perfect. Really a wonderful stay start to finish. We were there in the late Fall (Halloween) and it was a perfect time to enjoy a quiet private getaway. Relaxing. Romantic. Even the rain and the wind made it feel cozier.

Always a pleasure at white point beach resort. Food is always delicious, friendly staff and great atmosphere. On the other hand the cottages definitely needs a makeover. its time to start replacing some of them. first night we had a mouse in our cottage running around, went to the front desk and they immediately gived us a second one to also found a mice nest in the bedroom. it also had a strange skinky smell probably caused by the rodents. Went to the front desk again at 10:30 pm and got us a 3rd cottage that finally was Ok. So basically lost a wonderful night moving from cottage to cottage. In the end the staff was very frendly and helped us with moving all of our stuff. we we're reimbursed that night but we lost half of our vacation:(

We had such a wonderful time at White Point this summer! It was our first trip there with our baby girl, and she absolutely loved every minute, from splashing in the pool to watching the waves by the ocean. It was such a special getaway and the perfect mix of relaxation and family fun.

Sat in the lounge and had a delicious lunch over looking the beach. The mussels were absolutely amazing and the broth had so much flavour. Go chef! The fries were so good we ordered more. Our cocktails were fresh and delicious and our server Sammy was really helpful and sweet. 10/10 recommend and will be back for sure!

The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites is a historic landmark in Halifax, welcoming guests for over 85 years. Located near the Halifax Public Gardens and within walking distance of the Citadel National Historic Site and the city's harbor front, it offers refined accommodations with modern touches following a recent refurbishment. The hotel's old-world charm is preserved in its remarkable lobby, complete with stately doorkeepers, topiaries, and grand chandeliers.
My husband and I stayed here on a recent vacation. It was very, very nice. The room was spectacular, the staff, friendly and helpful. The area had everything, restaurants, shopping, and beautiful gardens right across the street. If you are in the area, and have the opportunity to stay here, do it. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a lovely stay .

We have visited several hotels in Halifax area, and selected the Lord Nelson for our event. This is a very nicely renovated hotel with great event space and excellent service. Hotels food is usually 5 out of 10, but the Lord Nelson gets 10 out of 10 from our international attendees and that means a lot. Meals were healthy, delicious, and artfully decorated. The event manager, Jahnia, was above and beyond helpful, ensuring a smooth event operation, setup, and addressed all our requests in a timely fashion. The crew on the ground make the experience a great one and makes us come back. Shout out to Amir at the catering service with being on top of everything and helping with all our needs. We had a great experience and happy with this choice.

We stayed in a Deluxe One Bedroom Suite on the 7th floor and it was absolutely beautiful and cozy. The suite had a Nespresso machine, complimentary water, and a very comfortable king bed. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. During the parade, the hotel offered hot chocolate and candy canes, which was such a thoughtful touch. We also loved the chocolates at the front desk! The only downside was that someone on our floor was blasting music for hours late at night. I called the front desk around midnight, and although they said they would send security, the noise continued for a long time, making it really hard to sleep. I ended up needing a nap when I got home. We stayed here two years ago and didn’t have this issue, so it was bit disappointing. Aside from the noise situation, everything else was great. We really enjoyed our stay overall and still appreciate the hotel’s charm and amazing staff. They did apologize to me ar check out but. Parking tip: A full day at the mall level was cheaper at $20 compared to their $28

Couldn't have been better. They upgraded us to a king suite for our anniversary, even left us wine and chocolates in the room. Everything was tasteful, spotless, and comfortable. The staff was very attentive, and the hotel itself is a historical classic train hotel, with all the beautiful wood, brass and marble accents. The location across from the public gardens was very convenient. We'd stay again, and definitely recommend to friends.

So many things went right with my stay at the hotel from Sept 16 to 19th. Check in was very positive. A sweet, smart an chatty reception agent. She gave me a beautiful room on the 9th floor. She really shined by sending me a handwritten note in my room a couple days later welcoming me to Halifax. In the note was reference to why I was in town, and wishing me the best. I was very touched and still have the note in my briefcase. My room was excellent. Nice to open the fridge and see all I needed for coffee waiting inside. Comfortable couches and bed. Shower was excellent, lots of pressure and roomy. Nice quality amenities. Very quiet as well. Easy parking, but if I had a few bags, I would drop them in front of the hotel with the bell man and then park. Humping a few bags in an unfamiliar parking garage, and then the trek to the actual hotel could start you off on the wrong foot. The hotel is right across the street from the Public Gardens. A great place to take your morning coffee. The real kicker about my stay was that I forgot about the three shirts I had in the wardrobe. I called and the hotel sent me my shirts by Canada Post with only the postal charge. Legendary service. Can't use names, but the person I spoke to about my shirts was as nice and sweet and the front desk person. The location is great for nightlife as well. Only a ten minute walk to be in the heart of the Halifax restaurant/bar scene, but nice and quiet by the hotel. Again, many thanks to the hotel staff for not only a great stay, but for sending me my shirts. Highly recommend.
Rene P — Google review
I think this hotel was likely quite stellar back in the day, but now it's far from perfect. The good: - The service. It's incredible. Every single staff member I interacted with was great and very helpful! - The location. You couldn't ask for a better location in Halifax. It's close to almost everything! - Secure parking. You have to pay to park, but it's underground and it's secure! - The smell. Yes, the smell! If you've ever been to Disney or any Disney hotel, it smells like this place, especially in the lobby and hallways. - It's clean. The lobby, hallways and room were all very clean. The bad: - The rooms (at least parts). There are areas that are quite outdated and clearly need at least some maintenance. The shower head base was falling out of the wall, there is absolutely zero sound-proofing consideration on any of the doors (bathroom or main), the curtains barely worked. - The price. A regular night was close to $500. I had a discount, but even with the discount it came to a similar price as every other major hotel in Halifax. I would never, ever, pay $500 to stay a night here. It's not a bad hotel, but it certainly isn't a $500 per night hotel, respectfully. Even though there are many positive things about this hotel, I almost certainly would not return just based on price. I think there are many more modern options for a better price.

Standard hotel room. We stayed Saturday night and there was a wedding on so hotel was busy. Elevators are very slow, lucky we were only on the third floor so we took the stairs! Walls are thin, we are woken up in the middle of the night by loud guests and children in the hall - Saturday night so what can you do. No breakfast included but there is a restaurant as well as a McDonald's, Tim Hortons and Starbucks just around the corner. Good location, right across from the public park which is lovely, short walk downtown to restaurants, bars and the seafront. Easy car parking underground for a fee. If you pull up in front they will give you a card to access the underground right away, then there is a drop box when you drive out after check out.
Monique H — Google review
I was heading back to hotel after dinner and noticed some police gathering in the lobby. Thought nothing of it, and spent a few hours in my room. Then I decided to go for a walk, then there were over 40 police vehicles outside whom had tapped off the whole perimeter of the hotel. Once I left the hotel the police wouldn’t allow me to re-enter. Wouldn’t tell me what was going on and were very vague. Turns out a bomb threat was made regarding an Israel tennis team staying in the area. Thought it was odd the hotel wouldn’t inform and of the guests regarding a threat/issue like this. Had to spend several hours outside allowing the police to perform their investigation. Overall nice place.

Nestled on Nova Scotia's North Shore, Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is a charming retreat offering sophisticated accommodations, including cozy cottages. The Norman chateau-style hotel provides old-school comfort amidst beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking the Annapolis Basin. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the immaculately groomed 18-hole championship golf course, while others can indulge in the outdoor heated pool and Aveda concept salon and spa.
I had a wonderful stay! The beds were comfortable, the room was spotless and the free breakfast was buffet was wonderful. The pool was great, the gardens beautiful and although we were unable to hike the trails because of the forest fires there was a beautiful park to sit in and a path to walk for exercise. The building itself is beautiful. The staff was wonderful and also helped me to find my keys. Thank you so much!
Karen M — Google review
We were able to book a room last minute as we came off the ferry and decided we would like to stay the evening in Digby. The service was great throughout the entire experience. Our meals were fantastic, breakfast was very good and included with our room. The quality of our room was good, the bed was comfy and we had a beautiful view. My only wish is that the bathrooms were updated, the space is small and difficult to utilize. Overall we had a positive experience!
Mikayla S — Google review
The building itself is impressive. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. The room was a huge disappointment. The bathroom desperately needed maintenance and updating. It actually was kind of creepy to use, with discolored grout in the shower and a hole in the corner of the wall. We live in an historic house and know you can update while keeping the integrity of the architectural style. The elevator was out of order the entire time were there. On the plus side the air/heat unit in the room was updated, worked well and was quiet. The pool was quiet, warm and wonderful. The fitness room was well equipped. The breakfast was very good with fresh made to order omelets.

This is an old CP hotel that still stands the test of time. The views and location are spectacular!!! The restaurant is great....good breakfast for sure. The rooms may seem a bit dated but due to the original design there is only so much you can do, and that is part of the charm. Be sure and take drinks in the lobby bar....you may get an Overlook Hotel from The Shining feel, the room has all the touches of that bygone charm. The cottages are a great golf trip destination too.....

I got my reservation date mixed up. The hotel called me the night we were supposed to be there and rebooked us for the next night without charging us for the missed night! Wonderful! I don’t know how many hotels would do that…I was so thankful! The accommodations were wonderful! They have an outdoor heated pool with a sauna which was great for a cool evening. The staff was awesome! Very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend Digby Pines.

I stayed at Digby Pines for our anniversary & did they ever make us feel special! We were treated like royalty and were shown really special gestures on arrival to celebrate our special day. The front desk really went above and beyond to make our first stay a memorable one, and we are so grateful. Any cons mentioned were really overshadowed by the attentive staff and beautiful location. Will DEFINITELY stay again. Pros: Really comfortable bed & pillows. Starbucks coffee & real creamer in rooms. Free breakfast buffet with EXCELLENT selection of items. Nice bathroom toiletries provided. Great location, beautiful grounds & close to town. Wonderful staff. Cons: Loud comforter (crinkly material). Older bathroom/rooms not pictured on website. Pool is outdoors and was freezing during our stay. Restaurant was a bit pricy, room service menu is limited and expensive.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Enjoyed a 3 day stay and found the staff to be tremendously accommodating. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinners of seafood were outstanding. The building is beautiful, perhaps a bit of faded elegance but a beautiful place to stay none the less. Our room was very nice with a fantastic view, however we were located near the elevator and given the age of the building and the elevator itself we experienced the associated noise....next time same room type further down the hall would be great. Golf course was fun to play, albeit due to a record drought this year the course suffered.....that said the greens and aprons were obviously the focus of the staff and made for rewarding finishes at the end of each hole. Overall, a great stay!! If driving as we did, I would also recommend taking the ferry from St. John to Digby (or vice versa) as part of the experience....ferry pier is less than 2 kilometres from the hotel.
Keith M — Google review
We are rating the rooms and service a one star for 7 reasons: 1. Despite that the elevator has been out of service for about a month - no one bothered to share this extremely important detail with when we booked a stay prior to our arrival as there were multiple flights to get to our room, and double that to get the the dining room from our floor. 2. No working elevator is a massive safety issue as well. 3. There is no signage anywhere outside to indicate where the front desk is, so we drove back and forth many times trying to find it. 4. There is a signficant amount of stairs to climb to enter the building where the front desk is located. Nowhere on the web site does it indicate any of these signficant to any senior issues regarding stairs. 5. As to the room - it was small, the shower was mediocre at best - once we had hot water the next day. 6. Our room was directly above the lounge (where we were greatly disturbed by hearing very word to every country & western song being performed and sung to and by the lounge customers - and that went on for a few hours). We should have been informed of this as well before being placed there - as we would have refused a room above that kind of racket. 7. The day we checked in about 5:45 pm, we had no hot water, and despite informing the front desk, had none until the next day - beyond belief for a hotel that is supposed to be a 4 star!!! Dining experiences were great, staff everywhere were great - always apologizing and trying to help, and the location is great. But don't go there expecting a 4 star resort, it is more along the lines of a 1.5 or 2 star.

Nestled on the tranquil northeastern shore of Nova Scotia, Fox Harb'r Resort is a luxurious waterfront retreat offering a range of upscale amenities. Set on 350 acres of private hunting reserve, guests can indulge in activities like horse riding, fly fishing, yachting, and pheasant-shooting. The resort boasts a pristine 10 km shoreline along with two top-notch golf courses and a lavish spa featuring an indoor pool and hot tub.
We hosted our wedding at Fox Harb'r Resort in October 2024, and it was truly everything we had hoped for—and more. We were planning from Alberta on relatively short notice, during a very stressful period balancing work demands and life following a devastating wildfire. From the beginning, Dawn at the resort was incredible to work with. She took the time to understand our vision and made thoughtful recommendations that aligned perfectly with what we were hoping to create. Her calm, confident guidance made it easy to make quick decisions, even on a tight timeline. The resort’s wedding package offered amazing value for small weddings and elopements, and we really appreciated the flexibility to tailor certain elements to suit our needs. Every detail came together seamlessly. The entire team—from the concierge and bell staff to banquets and dining far exceeded our expectations. Everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely invested in making our day special. After the wedding, we found ourselves reflecting on just how fun and relaxed it all felt, even after the stress that led up to it. It was exactly what we needed and exactly what we wanted. We honestly wish we could do it all over again. Huge thanks to the Fox Harb’r team for turning a difficult few months into the most beautiful celebration.

June 16-18/25. 4 guys golf trip, stayed in a house by the marina. The level of attention and service cannot be matched, everything was perfect! The main dining room and the pub provided superior service and quality food. We met Christi and Kieran,(among many others) who really made our stay enjoyable. On site shuttle service to get you around from the house to golf to spa. The spa has a wide choice of services which we really enjoyed after a round of golf. They have redone the existing golf course(s)and are adding another(i believe they said 2027 for completion). They also have their own runway so you can fly in anytime. A great experience and we will definitely look forward to returning.

Fox Harbour Resort was the stunning setting for our nephew and nieces wedding and we so enjoyed our stay there. The home we stayed in was beautiful and had everything we needed to make our time there comfortable and relaxing. The home was in close proximity to wedding events and other recreational activities and the staff were second to none in taking care of our needs. We enjoyed 18 holes of golf and thoroughly enjoyed the course and the stunning views of the ocean. We also had the chance to feast on the scrumptious food served by the resort for the wedding and at The Willard. Food was delicious - enjoyed every bite! Would love to visit again and highly recommend a stay.

I expected much more from a resort with such a high-end reputation and price point. While the property itself may be luxurious, the service was anything but. I accidentally left behind my toiletries bag in the room — it contained essential items including medication, electric razor, and my electric toothbrush. I called the resort as soon as I realized, and while I was told they’d “look into it,” I had to chase them multiple times just to get an update. No one followed up on their own. After several calls over a few days, they finally confirmed they had the bag and said they’d send it to me. It’s now been over a week, and I still haven’t received anything — no tracking info, no confirmation, nothing. For the amount I paid to stay here, I expected a much higher standard of service. Frankly, I would have expected them to overnight the bag the same day, especially considering it contained prescription medication. It’s extremely disappointing that a resort positioning itself as a luxury destination can be so careless and unresponsive when it comes to basic guest service. This experience completely changed my perception of the brand.

Highly recommend the golf course. Stunning views and great customer service. Was in town from Michigan for a wedding and was lucky to get a tee time. All staff were very helpful and pleasant. Hope to return one day!

Stayed at Fox Harb’r for a wedding recently - accommodations were excellent and excellent allowing us to check in early for the rehearsal dinner. So many photo worthy spots in location too! Cherry on top though was the doggie goodie bag provided - poop bag and container, treats, and there was a dog bed and bowls waiting for her. Shuttle service was free and quick.

I wouldn't classify this resort as a 5 star in any shape or form. Maybe there golf course, but the food from, "The Willard Pub", is definitely compared to a Smitty's restaurant. The people are exceptional, the food is crap..the wait is even worse. The grounds are nice, but nothing to rave about. Not worth the price tag that comes with this place.

We arrived at Fox Harb'r at the end of 2 weeks in the maritimes. Thinking that this was bucket list destination and certainly the price for the room sets a bar of expectation - we were shocked to arrive to a full construction site in front and back of our villa. After the booking there are numerous emails to book spa services, tee times, wine tours etc. (all things that cost more $) but not one message to let us know that the place is under construction. In fact I have gone back to the website to try and find some glimpse of this important information that surely I have missed - but no. Not a mention of the construction. At check in we were not told that there are bicycles available for our use, we were not provided with a map of the property so feel quite secluded behind the piles of dirt. Because of this we have decided to golf at another near by resort - it just does not feel nice to pay $350+ per round to play in area surrounded by diggers, dirt flying and unfinished spaces. I am writing this at 7:22 pm and they have just now shut down the machinery in front of our room - phew! This should be a 5 star resort but our experience is a fully 3 stars.

Nestled in the picturesque Annapolis Valley, Old Orchard Inn & Spa is a charming family-owned retreat popular for weddings, conferences, and romantic getaways. Guests can indulge in activities like wine tasting, hiking, whale watching, and kayaking. The resort offers traditional rooms and cabins along with casual dining options, an indoor pool, and a spa offering rejuvenating treatments like hot stone massages.
This property was spotless, I have never stayed somewhere so clean. The rooms, the restaurant, even the public bathrooms were absolutely spotless. Easy to navigate, and loved the indoor hallway connecting the drive up rooms. The beds were so comfy, I actually had a full night sleep for the first time in a very long time. Close to so many beautiful sights, shops and the view of the orchards was lovely. Would definitely stay again!

I stayed in a cottage for two nights, and thoroughly enjoyed it! The price for the cottage was very reasonable, and we were able to sit outside in chairs at night. The cottage was basic but suited our needs. The resort amenities were excellent. We were able to enjoy the indoor pool, outdoor hot tubs, sauna, large deck, and outdoor fire bowls. I would suggest to leave the resort for lunch or supper, rather than go to the hotel restaurant. It had limited options and the prices were high, but the staff were professional and the decor was quite nice.

My wife and I love this hotel so much that we have practically made 3 or 4 trips this past summer. Each time we stayed for 3-4 days and each trip we found Wanda and her housekeeping team to be friendly, welcoming and incredibly professional. The front desk staff is personable, professional and courteous and attentive. The restaurant has amazing views of the orchards and the beautiful landscape of the valley. The restaurant staff are all friendly and professional and efficient. The food served is among the best in the valley regardless of the time of day you stop in. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant just happens to be our favorite. While the season is quickly approaching the time when the weather changes for the worse, we are already thinking of our next trip to Wolfville for the fun and sun and comfort of the Old Orchard Inn.

My friend and I recently visited your beautiful accommodations. We had a fantastic view from our room. The grounds are so lovely and we we're so happy to enjoy an evening stroll through your orchard. We had a fantastic dining experience at your beautifully renovated restaurant. The attention to detail in the upgrades is truly impressive. The wine selection and menu are outstanding, and the staff are exceptionally warm and welcoming. The hot tubs are such a delightful addition and the perfect way to end the day before turning in for the night. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

My Son and his wife had their entire wedding here and the weekend was absolutely magical. The service was 10 out of 10. The attention to detail with the wedding coordinator was 10 out of 10. The rooms were renovated and absolutely gorgeous. We had one on ground level and the bedding and the linens everything was so comfortable. The restaurant is redone and is absolutely pleasing to the eye and the food. We only had breakfast there .The wedding food was 10/10 delicious and hot and so many Choices. The patio and the outdoor hot tubs and the entire resort is beautiful. Definitely enjoyed our full weekend there with 170 friends and family. Its a beautiful renovated property I would definitely recommend.

Fall get away - excellent stay. Comfortable, well appointed newly renovated room overlooking orchard, apple picking, pool and hot tubs open but didn't use, very clean room, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast with a scenic view of autumn colors. Only con would be tv size but more important to husband than myself. All in all, a lovely break and would highly recommend.

Where to begin? Let’s start with the name. It is an Inn. It is an Orchard. And it is OLD. Filthy stained carpets running through hallways the colour of baby vomit. Scratched and chipped 1970s furniture in the room. It takes nearly an hour to fill the jacuzzi tub due to lousy water pressure. You’re lucky to get ANYTHING replenished by housekeeping. And in a room clearly booked for two, I got 1 bottle of water on day 1 and a single apple (which by the way had a produce sticker on it from a grocery store!). Staff are upbeat and friendly but that can’t make up for all the shortfalls. Restaurant is under the mistaken impression they are a fine dining option while servers roam about in dirty jeans. Food is mediocre at best. The whole place gives a Holiday Inn Express vibe where they sublet some space to an Irving Big Stop restaurant. Paid $350 a night for the room and this is how housekeeping made up the room on the second day. (Third day was as bad with an uncleaned tub). I’m editing the review because of the response from the hotel. We were in the room 4 nights, not 2. And not once did we put a do not disturb sign up. We were out of the room from 9:30am to late afternoon. Furthermore, the bed was made (in a half hearted way) every day so how was this done if there was a do not disturb sign? And the photos of the towels were how HOUSEKEEPING placed them. I use my towels two days then they go on the floor. The team did not give you the whole truth. Also, while your reviews may be generally positive for the restaurant, I did not enjoy my visit. Perhaps it was coloured by my experience at the hotel.

The Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is a modern property located on the iconic waterfront of downtown Halifax. It offers stunning views and easy access to the vibrant boardwalk, shops, and restaurants. The hotel's surroundings include historic buildings and contemporary landmarks, creating a picturesque skyline. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a restaurant, bar, indoor pool, and spa. With its newly renovated accommodations, this hotel provides an ideal base for exploring Nova Scotia's bustling capital city.
Although our stay was short, it was absolutely memorable. The staff catered to our every need and made us feel truly important and well taken care of. The entire facility was spotless, and our room was in great condition—comfortable and well-maintained. We especially appreciated how family-friendly everything was. The pool was the perfect temperature for little ones, and the hotel clearly puts thought into accommodating guests with children. We also enjoyed the on-site dining options, which were convenient and delicious. To top it all off, the view was spectacular. Overall, it was a warm, clean, and inviting experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the BEST mariott experience I have ever had after being an avid Mariott customer since childhood. The reason: the amazing people who work here!! The QUEEN here is Renata from the M lounge; I have never met someone so sweet, humble and friendly! She literally single-handedly made our 8-day stay phenomenonal. The joy she gave to our toddler was unprecedented and her gentle manner and games will always be remembered. Another really valuable member of the team we want to give credit to is Ayman from the front desk who made our stay so enjoyable with a nice welcome to Halifax and Nova Scotia and was always available when we had questions and concerns! We also want to give a shout out to Angelica, Jenn, Yoshida and Naomi from the M lounge, who were always smiling and ready to serve us. The Halifax harbourfront mariott M lounge is literally the best club lounge we have ever been to! It allowed for an-inclusive experience, with excellent breakfast and dinner hours (6:30-11:30 and 4-10pm), great variety of food, and tons of snacks and drinks all the time. I think the part we really appreciated was the consideration: to-go biodegradable boxes and bags and everyone being so sweet about taking our left-overs. The pool was excellent - we swam daily! The temperature of the pool area and water was very comfortable. A few suggestions to make the experience even better: clean the pool area floor twice daily to prevent dust/dirt from getting into water, increase the temperature of the changing area (literally freezing) and make the whirlpool less hot. The check in service given by Ayman, SK and Riley were really appreciated. The check-in for kids and the scavenger hunt is so cute and appreciated! It gave our toddler such a wonderful experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Harbourfront. The newly opened M Lounge was a highlight — it was so convenient having access to snacks throughout the day and a nice breakfast in the morning. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The only downside was that the hot tub was closed during my visit, which would have been a nice bonus. Overall, a comfortable stay in a great spot on the waterfront.

Our room was nothing fancy, but clean and housekeeping did a good job keeping the room tidy and stocked with water and fresh towels. The location was perfect, right on the Harbour and walking distance to a ton of restaurants and things to do. The gym had plenty of equipment to use.

What can we say. My husband and I stayed here on our recent vacation. It was fantastic. Our suite was stunningly beautiful. A dining area, dishwasher, fridge, separate from our sleeping area was so nice. The sleeping, seating area was set up perfectly. The shower was so fantastic. Lots to see, and do in the area. The breakfast was SO delicious, and SO much food. Shout out to the front desk staff, and the cleaning lady. They were there for us with information, questions, addressing everything we inquired about. We would highly suggest to stay here in a suite if you are in this area. Thank you so much for a fabulous, wonderful stay during our vacation.

We were able to check in early, which was a nice surprise. Our room had a beautiful waterfront view and was very spacious with a massive closet, which I absolutely loved! The bed was super big and incredibly comfortable. The hotel also had a great gym with Peloton bikes and a solid selection of weightlifting equipment. The coffee bar was a nice touch, though it closed at 2 p.m. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!

We never received our Bon Voy points for my 3 nights stay at Halifax Harbourfront. A week after my stay, my booking and the history for nights I stayed disappeared from our Bon Voy account. I called Bon Voy centre for clarification and explained we booked my stay through my husband’s account and had also called the hotel prior to stay to confirm the booking. The lady at Bon Voy centre confirmed it takes two or three weeks for the hotel to submit points to Bon Voy and sometimes hotel removes and then returns the days stayed due to accounting to include any expenses from the restaurants etc. She assured we will receive our points in two or three weeks from my call and she can see my reservation number and payment history in their file etc. When I was booking my stay through my spouse’s Bon Voy account, I also called for a possible early check in since my flight was arriving early and I was travelling for over 18 hours. The hotel told me my husband needs to call and confirm he is booking the room for me , which he did. They never mentioned my spouse also needs to stay at the hotel to earn Bon Voy points and the hotel certainly had no issue I booked my stay through my spouse account. When I arrived the day at the hotel, the lady at the reception was not welcoming and she was not clear if she wants to submit my stay to Bon Voy since my husband did not accompanied me upon arrival .When I explained the whole process and asked her about the pints status she said she left it to Bon Voy team to decide. This is not a transparent approach. I would certainly choose another hotel or chain for my stay if the hotel would let me know in advance points are not going to be granted. We stay at least 30 days in Marriott hotels in Canada and outside countries from upscale to overnight stays in their airport hotels. Last summer, an Autograph hotel also did not grant the points for a room we booked for a week and paid for our parents stay when we visited oversees and stayed the same hotel with them. All we needed and expected was transparency. Thank you!

The Prince George Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia offers stylish rooms and upscale amenities including an on-site restaurant, meeting rooms, and a pool. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of other hotels in the area. One standout feature is the availability of two different buffet options at their restaurant. Additionally, the hotel is pet-friendly and provides amenities for four-legged guests, making it a welcoming choice for travelers with pets.
Granted the hotel was very busy when we went. However the rooms were very clean and spacious. The pool was warm, clean and lovely. The sauna was clean and nicely done. The hot tub well maintained. Location was excellent, and only a short walk to great local sites. The breakfast buffet was good value for the cost. The parking was easy. Staff was approachable and eager to help.

My husband, dog and I stayed here for our first time in Halifax. This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The staff are insanely professional and polite and the atmosphere is lovely. Patrick, who was phenomenal, checked us in and gave us a complimentary upgrade and a present for our dog (she was thrilled). Our room was clean and the view was great. We were also given two complimentary breakfast buffet cards—and that was delicious. We LOVED our stay and cannot wait to come back!

I’ve had the privilege of staying in some of the world’s most luxurious and high-end hotels, yet Prince George Hotel stands out as one of the finest experiences I've ever had. What truly sets it apart is the exceptional service and professionalism of the staff. Every team member is remarkably courteous, attentive, and communicates with genuine warmth and clarity. It’s evident that they go above and beyond to ensure every guest has a memorable and seamless stay. The rooms are immaculate, generously spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with all the modern amenities one could need. From start to finish, my stay was nothing short of outstanding.

My wife and I stayed at Prince George Hotel for 4 nights during our trip to Halifax and absolutely loved the hotel! The room we reserved looked exactly like the photos online. The hotel was extremely clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. I requested for a microwave because I needed to use hot compress on my eyelids daily to treat dry eyes, and they provided one without extra cost, which I really appreciated! We were especially impressed by the made-to-order cookies in their in-room food menu. We ordered some cookies, which were made from scratch and delivered to us still warm. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient as well, just steps away from the citadel and all the great restaurants. We will definitely be choosing Prince George Hotel when we visit Halifax again.

Excellent hotel. Great staff. Nice room, more like a suite. Maid service even left a written "thank you" for each daily tip. Shower was big enough for a small dance party. Jetted tub was huge, as well. Valet was quick and easy. Morning breakfast buffet, although repetitive, was very good.

My wife and I arrived at the hotel late evening following our flight from the U.K. and were warmly welcomed, and to our delight, upgraded to a suite with complementary breakfast for our two night stay. The hotel is well appointed and spotlessly clean and all the staff we encountered were polite, professional and friendly. There is secure parking beneath the hotel. The hotel is also ideally situated for easy walking to the waterfront bars and restaurants. Highly recommend. 👌🏻

This is a great hotel. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was attractive, well-equipped, and spotless. The hotel had two small but important features that distinguish caring hotels from indifferent ones: the bathroom had a nightlight, so you don't have to blind yourself when you get up in the night, and the room had plenty of conveniently placed USB outlets for charging devices. The hotel is in a great location in downtown Halifax. I'd certainly stay there again.

I had an impressive stay at the Prince George Hotel. My executive suite was very spacious, relatively updated, had a great spa-like bathroom and was very clean. The suite views were also impressive, considering that I was only on the 4th floor. The hotel's front desk team were friendly, professional and attentive, Paige was particularly friendly and helpful with my stay. The hotel is quint yet charming, has all the conveniences that one would want with a great central location to everything within easy walking distance...so many great restaurants and amazing cafes nearby! Breakfast was also impressive, fresh and had a bountiful selection. Service was also excellent and attentive. The bar and outdoor terrace was also nice, great drinks and snacks (service was friendly yet pretty slow). Some of the lobby furniture needs updating, elevators were slow, pool and hallways really needs updating, as they were showing their age (room hallways — are badly dated and smelled musty). The hotel also really needs to add a doorman (especially during busy seasons), and key access to the room floors for guests privacy/security! The hotel also backs onto a very busy "party" street, so be sure to know that rooms facing that side of the hotel can get pretty loud with street / pedestrian noises late into the night. Otherwise, I had a terrific, pretty much flawless stay that exceeded my expectations.

Inverary Resort is a charming lakeside retreat located in Baddeck, offering a variety of accommodations including rooms, suites, and cottages. Situated in the heart of Cape Breton, it provides picturesque views over Bras d'Or Lake and serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the Cabot Trail. The resort offers numerous activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and jet ski rentals during the summer months. Guests can also indulge in spa treatments and enjoy special packages throughout the year.
Stellar. Recently fully rebuilt main lodging with a large pub style bar and stylish, comfortable rooms. Original buildings provide the right mix of nostalgia with modern amenities. There’s a restaurant waterside that has a “Sip and Shuck” afternoon on the deck for drinks and seafood. Access to beach and kayaks too. Plus BADDECK the gateway to the CABOT TRAIL. Oh and it’s also beautifully landscaped. Staff were pleasant and very accommodating.

We had a comfortable and relaxing stay at the main lodge. Staff is very polite and friendly. Had some amazing food at the bar along with live music. Hot tub and jacuzzi was the main highlight of our stay. Parking is free too. I just found it strange that the resort didn’t provide complimentary water, dental kits, or a microwave in the room.
SAI M — Google review
We spent one night here. We had originally booked a "traditional" room but ended up making a switch to the main lodge where the rooms had been updated. It was a drastic difference. The room was clean and comfortable. We had drinks at both The Lakeside and The Narrows. Service was good. The Narrows has live music until 11pm which was wonderful. We also had the buffet breakfast - it had everything you needed for a solid meal (eggs, pancakes, pastries, fruit, yogurt, sausage, bacon, potatoes).
Taryn K — Google review
I stayed there August 2025 at the main lodge with a friend. The decor was great, the room was spacious, quiet, and clean, the bed was REALLY comfy, and the bathroom was really nice and clean. The bathroom also had extra everything (towels, soaps, etc.), so we didn't need to ask anyone for anything. There are 2 reasons why it's not 5/5: #1 is the disappointing continental breakfast. It's NOT free (contrary to their current advertised details on Google) unless you get the bed & breakfast package - they charged us $20/person for a breakfast that was worth $10-$12 at best (the scrambled eggs were clearly the liquid insta-eggs that comes from a carton, some of it was cold, etc.). #2 is because the rooms are pricey for the amount of time you're staying (my family and I have recently been in 4 star hotels that charged less). Still, an overall great experience!

We stayed for two nights 30 May, so the season hadn't quite got into swing. We stayed in the main building, the room was modern and spacious, the bathroom was modern with a decent shower a nice room. The reception staff are super helpful. The bar gets a bit noisy especially with the live music but there is space to sit outside . Breakfast, others have commented on this as well, I would suggest you go an look at the buffet before you commit , an alternative is "At the Terrace, 22 Water Street " run by the same people who manage the Freight Shed

Very disappointing for the price you pay. I asked to be booked in main lodge however we were booked elsewhere. As soon as you walked in the room it was musty smelling and foul. The shower was full of mold and mildew. Room was so outdated and it was not a great experience walking in to a room like this. This resort really needs to step up and have more of a welcoming experience for their patrons. We asked for another room preferably in the main lodge but they were full and our next room wasn’t any better. I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone. Not wanting to sleep in the rooms at all because they are disgusting. Not worth the value you pay. Their website is falsely advertising what the rooms look like. Not at all what they picture. I’m not one to complain, but we were looking for a great weekend in Baddeck and this really put a damper on our stay.

I stayed at the Argyle and the room was clean, but dated. The bathroom could use an update, at least the shower head. I was there for a wedding and we had a ton of stuff not go right.. the hotel did try but certain important things were missed. Bridal party lunch was over an hr late. So late we couldn't really eat becuz, we had pictures after. Rooms were all messed up when bride arrived and her kids were told to sleep in the car? A few other hiccups that could of been prevented but we didnt let it ruin our time. Its a beautiful resort, but extremely expensive. Make sure to ask to get an updated/renovated room, if you’re planning a wedding get your quote in writing so it doesnt go up closer to event, and triple check your room are assigned, be annoying about it... because for some reason rooms in the wedding block were an issue. The bar service staff was super awesome. Ella was extremely helpful, she made sure we were well taken care of at the bar. The service staff at the wedding was incredible and all deserve a raise. Front desk,.. a little spicy when called out for mistakes. Id still recommend, just pay alot of attention when booking and keep records. The drive from sydney is breathtaking.

Oceanstone Resort & Hydrothermal Nordic Spa with Fitness Centre is an upscale oceanfront property offering plush rooms and cottages, perfect for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The resort provides private cottages, guestrooms, and suites equipped with fully equipped kitchens and barbecues. Guests can also order locally sourced barbecue kits or gourmet meals from the main lodge.
Our five-night stay at Crows Nest Cottage exceeded our expectations . The cottage itself is a charming, quintessential beach house that offers a perfect blend of comfort and coziness. With its light-filled rooms, breezy atmosphere, and beach themed decor, it provided a most comfortable retreat. The sound of gentle waves lapping the shoreline just a short dune walk behind the cottage added to the serenity of our evenings & mornings. We definitely looked forward to beginning our mornings with the sumptuous complimentary breakfast served in the main lodge. The attentive staff served eggs made to order alongside an assortment of fresh fruit, croissants, meats, and other delightful goodies—an ideal way to fuel our days of relaxing exploration. Our experience at the Nordic Spa was remarkable and unforgettable . We began our “spa day” with a couples massage which was the perfect introduction to the day’s relaxing activities. The spa’s unique blend ( in an exquisite garden setting) of heat treatments, cold plunge, and restful breaks created a holistic cycle that invigorated our bodies, cleared the mind, and uplifted our spirits. The knowledgeable and friendly attendants made the experience even more special, ensuring we felt comfortable and cared for at every step. Complementing our entire Oceanstone experience were the ocean views and gorgeous sunsets from our cottage , which provided the perfect backdrop for unwinding after a days adventures . My wife and I enjoyed walking the pristine beach in front of the cottage, searching for tiny treasures of sea glass & shells which immensely added to the joy of our stay. Overall, Oceanstone Resort and Nordic Spa offered an all-encompassing retreat that nurtured our mind, body, and spirit. The warm hospitality of the staff truly made us feel like valued guests, and we left feeling inspired, and eager to return next year . For anyone seeking a restorative, beautiful, and inspiring getaway, I highly recommend Oceanstone for a complete experience of tranquility and renewal.

First stay at resort. Beautiful location, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Room - we had Rhubarb room #2 which is over the kitchen end of the restaurant so we knew when booking that it would be noisier so just be aware that it is - the hours of operation are 11:30 to 8 however they need to prep in the morning so they are there early at 6:30-7 am so no sleeping in unless you have ear plugs this is not a criticism just an awareness. We were good with it as we got up early to get about our day. The view from the deck on our room was spectacular and a great place to sit as long as the weather is good. Bed was comfortable, room is small but again that is ok. The room does not have a chair to sit in which I did make the suggestion to add even a couple of good folding chairs in the closet that could be used. The shower was heavily impacted by the kitchen as well which I also let the resort know about. Overall the room was fine it could just be better with a couple of little tweaks. The common areas are lovely and allow you to enjoy different areas of the resort. The breakfast is bar none the best included breakfast we have had. It is a buffet style, but they take the extra step to make your eggs and bagels fresh to order. The breakfast staff were very welcoming. We would recommend a stay at this resort and we will return.

We were here for a family function and stayed two nights. Location is beautiful minutes away from Peggy’s Cove and the lighthouse. The resort is in a beautiful setting and our cousins had a private cottage on the water with an amazing view. We all gathered there at night for both nights and had an amazing time now we know what it’s like to have an Oceanside cottage. Our accommodations were up the hill on top of the restaurant, and we’re not quite as nice. When making a reservation, make sure you inquire as to what the room is like. They included breakfast was amazing. Cooked order waffles and eggs were great, especially the scrambled eggs. Note that if you want to do the sauna and Jacuzzi in the outdoor area, at the time I write this, it was an $85 per person extra charge.

We spent three nights here to celebrate our daughter’s wedding at the end of September. It was perfect! The captains house was great for five of us to stay and host a couple of small gatherings. The huge deck was wonderful for meals and relaxing, with spectacular views. The food at the wedding was delicious. Without exception, every single staff member was wonderful. Don’t want to include any names because I’d miss some, but the staff was friendly, helpful and quick to respond to requests. Those who had a spa day after the wedding really enjoyed it too. The whole wedding trip was a joy, and we heard the same from friends and family who attended. Would highly recommend Oceanstone if you are considering holding an important event here!

Staying in Rhubarb room #1 currently, and due to the connected deck another guest came by and peered at me while changing into a dress— seeing me basically naked. The man put his face right up to the glass and peered into my room. I felt completely violated and unsafe. I want to emphasize that staff in the main lodge were incredibly compassionate and understanding, I believe her name was Jen. She worked very hard to find us an alternative room, and she offered us a room without a balcony when one came up. I just want to vouch for how nice and supportive the staff were about this incident which was entirely out of their control. They even offered to waive any fee to switch rooms on short notice. However I still feel it’s necessary to put this out publicly that women, children and other vulnerable individuals should keep the blinds drawn if you’re staying above Rhubarb. Do not expect other guests to respect your privacy and remain in their respective area on the deck balcony.

The Ocean Vista was a large and comfortable private room, at the top of small building. A good sized kitchenette with the pots, pans and utensils for practical use. The rooms are cleaned and reset daily, a surprise to us because we were only staying for 2 nights. All staff were stellar, we will definitely return on future trips!

My daughter and I came home to visit my mother in palliative care and I knew I would need some ocean therapy and quiet reflection before heading back so booked the Crow's Nest cottage right at the ocean for two nights. I cried at the view and was so happy to have our own private seating area on the beach. The spa was amazing, I fell asleep so many times during the massages. I didn't want it to end. I walked out of there is such a content daze that I forgot my jewelry in the robe. I slept with the windows open to listen to the waves and slept like a baby both nights. It was unreasonably warm for October! I cried when I had to leave. The hospitality was unreal, staff went above and beyond every single time I interacted with them. I highly recommend Oceanstone when you need to recharge and decompress.

Hotel
In Wolfville Luxury Bed and Breakfast is a charming B&B located in the wine region of Nova Scotia. The country-style rooms offer free Wi-Fi and a traditional, homely atmosphere. The hosts are known for their boundless hospitality and accommodating nature, catering to various dietary needs. Guests can enjoy the beautifully manicured gardens, quiet seated spots on the veranda, and even a hot tub in the back.
We had an excellent stay at In Wolfville. We stayed during off-season, so we were the only ones there. Gordon, the owner has every detail looked after. Making arrangements to stay was a breeze. The room was very big, and pleasant. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable. As far as cleanliness, it is top notch. I highly recommend staying here, if you are in the area. Check out all of my honest Google reviews. My photos have over 12,000,000 views!

The couple that run the place are incredibly kind, thoughtful people. They are aware of food sensitivities and were able to provide for my gluten free and lactose intolerant dietary needs. I stayed in a double room with two twin beds (my sister in the other bed), and they were impeccably clean, with very comfortable beds. There is also a hot tub in the back that I didn't get a chance to use. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would immediately recommend staying.

Arrived at12 noon. Not well received. Hit a large pothole in the driveway. Almost broke the front axel. Came back at 3pm. Met by guy in a grubby shirt. Knew it wasn't an elegant place. Shown to our room. Large and clean. But blackout blinds have been removed from three windows. Complained. Were told no one cares for black out anymore. Looked out window saw piles of cardboard not garden. Garbage pale flip up was broken. Sink required that I turn it on for my wife. Ordered sunny side up egg for breakfast got burnt toast. And hard cooked egg. Then when I sent it back. It came perfect. Not so second day. Still over cooked. Not gourmet. Told it wasn't their fault. I think they had enough of renting. Not very friendly. Plunked down bowl of blue berries. Then before I got half way through it my egg was put down beside me. This B and B has attitude. Won't be staying their again.

Restaurant
Resto Urban Dining in Bedford is a popular spot known for its gluten-free menu options. The restaurant offers great service and a delightful lunch special, including dishes like the chicken club wrap and Caesar salad. One standout item is the limited-time candy cane crème brûlée, available only during the Christmas season. Customers also praise the Sundried pasta with added chicken as well as the creamy vegetable tomato soup and buffalo chicken wrap from the lunch specials.
Live in Bedford and only trying this place now as I seen a lot of great reviews and recommendations on FB. So happy we tried it place was amazing alll around - great atmosphere, music, service and the food was top shelf Will be back for sure
Kevin L — Google review
What a find! The decor is upscale with a fireplace in the back (though I still preferred the front booths). The staff is very personable without being intrusive. And the food is WAY above par -- especially for gluten free options! Many items are already GF and most others have gf options. BEST seafood chowder in all of NS (and I have tried every GF chowder out there). Also, I want to say how reasonably priced everything is here. Refreshing, considering how overpriced most restaurants are today.

Our first visit. We are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Everything was amazing. Our server was so friendly and accommodating of my dietary needs. The food was amazing from the apps to the beer to the meal and dessert. All delicious. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Great meal and excellent service. Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and it didn’t disappoint. 99% of their menu can be made gluten free.

Amazing goat cheese pizza! Love it!! Definitely going to get it again. Not as impressed at the peanut butter dessert. The chocolate cake part was bland and tasted like coconut! But it was good, just not what I expected. Our waitress did great with the ten of us!! A bit pricey but the pizza value was appropriate.

I love Resto. The staff are fabulous...they know our group by name and remember our little ordering eccentricities. The food is always amazing. I've never seen anyone disappointed with their food and we eat there almost every month. Portions are good sized and the desserts...well... you have to save room for dessert because the spice cake and carrot cake are divine. They also have great gluten and dairy free options, which I've started ordering and the dairy free doesn't taste any different from regular to me! LOVE LOVE LOVE Resto
Anita K — Google review
Wow what a fantastic place to have both Gluten free and original meal. Being gluten free it’s always difficult to find a good variety of meals, I have to say this was hands down our favourite restaurant while we were in Nova Scotia. Thank you so much for having so many Gluten free options on your menu. You will not be disappointed eating here.

Resto Urban Dining -Bedford Another lunch date with my sister. We decided to try Resto this time and they didn't disappoint. Our waitress was fabulous, super friendly and helped with the menu. I went with the Sundried pasta- Sun-dried tomatoes and garlic sauteed in butter with wilted spinach and cream on fettuccine, I also added the chicken. It was really good!! I ate the whole thing and was stuffed. My sister Brenda went with the special which was a pulled chicken wrap and side ceasar. I did take a bite, and it was quite flavorful for pulled chicken. We decided on desert as my sister was interested in the carrot cake- which was really good. I got the chocolate truffle torte. I asked for it to go, but with a fork so I could sneak a small bite. The waitress came out with a plate, she said they laughed out back at my request and wanted to present it well so they cut it in half. Half for take home and half for me to eat there. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend. Service and food 👌👌 Food adventures with Kara on Facebook.

Situated high on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Keltic Lodge at the Highlands offers upscale rooms and cottages with stunning ocean views. The lodge boasts a spa, three restaurants, and beach access for guests to enjoy. The property is home to the renowned Highlands Links golf course, which has been named the #1 public course in Canada by prominent golf magazines.
Absolutely amazing location to have a resort. The rooms were very clean and tidy. There was a very nice hiking trail to the point. The resteraunt had a tasty breakfast. The course itself was in great condition and has amazing views on every hole
Malcolm M — Google review
We spent one night here. As many have noted the resort needs some work. They have closed down part of it for renovations (far end). Our room was clean and spacious, but definitely dated. We had a great night's sleep as it was quiet and the room was dark. That being said, its quite expensive given what you get (but you are on the Cabot Trail). Views are stunning!
Taryn K — Google review
I really don’t know what people have to complain about?? Run down ? We noticed people just coming for the view!! The location is out of this world! I think the people that leave bad reviews must have an axe to grind? Admittedly we did eat here, we never do, too tight!! Too many other nice places to eat. We have traveled from the uk for a 4 week holiday and I can honestly say this place is amazing. Rooms facing the sea have a stunning view, the room had towels like you wouldnt believe!! Stop in Europe all you get is one tea towel. As to the condition, yes in places it’s a bit frayed but the rooms are in good condition and clean. The hotel faces the Atlantic for heavens sake , keeping this up to scratch would be like painting the Forth Road Bridge.
Jonathan W — Google review
TLDR: Overpriced and Dated. Views are amazing but so are the potholes in the street and main lodge reception parking lot. Our suite was clean but it was low on outlets. Had to unplug the TV or the fridge for the coffee machine. AC worked great. Staff was polite and friendly. No flat surfaces to put anything on other than the bathroom. We really enjoyed the Lounge with the live musician, food was great. Kinda seems like the resort is on its last legs though and they're just hanging on.
Michael — Google review
Keltic Lodge is certainly past its prime and heyday. The place is worn and tired. Paint peeling on the buildings, moss on the rooftops, driveways need re-paving etc. The rooms were dated, but still had great beds and an ocean view. We stayed in the main lodge building where reception was. We did the stay and play with Highlands Links and overall the place is fairly overpriced. You're mostly paying for its location above the cliffs and identity. Would not recommend going to the restaurant as others stated too, service was lackluster. Better off going into town. There may be newer buildings you can stay in elsewhere on the resort.
Marek V — Google review
Location, location, location! Thank goodness the Keltic Inn has that criterion nailed down, because otherwise this is a some mediocre hotel. We were "upgraded" (thank you, Keltic Lodge) to the Killiecrankie cottage from the main part, but maybe that wasn't so great. Lots of space for two people (a three bedroom house) but the cottage is tired and needs some attention (broken screens, windows not opening, worn and scuffed appearance). Yet a blistering fast internet connection! I would also point out that the King bed was very good - very comfortable and good quality bedding. The shortfalls I mentioned would be more palatable were it not for the $300+ a night cost (and thanks, too, for the 15% military discount). The restaurant is charmingly casual but also expensive and a possessing a limited menu. Considering the distance and effort it must take to get supplies delivered, this is understandable. Overall, this was a somewhat disappointing stay. I expected more from this well regarded hotel.
John M — Google review
Location and physical beauty are unsurpassed. The facility is in a poor state of repair. It's very old and tired. Service in the restaurant was the worst we experienced on our entire east coast trip. Plenty of staff on hand but no one was doing anything other than standing around talking to each other. Food was mediocre at best. Rooms are marginal and certainly not what you would reasonably expect for the price point. It's a small thing but ... plastic glasses in the bathrooms ... really? The grounds were overrun with weeds and the landscaping not kept up. Not worth stopping here as its way too expensive for such a run-down place that is so poorly operated.
Jerry J — Google review
We were excited to stay at the Keltic Lodge as part of our journey on the Cabot Trail - it was the most expensive of our four nights around the area, but we ended up disappointed. The room was nice, and very clean, but outfitted somewhat oddly - a big room with a small tv quite far from the bed, and no table to sit and write or eat at, although there was plenty of space. We found the staff, that we had dealings with, to be rude and unhelpful. My husband paid to golf at the famed course and said it was in terrible condition. And although we didn't plan on using it we were told by other guests that the pool was closed - without a heads up prior to check in.

This resort is beautiful. My family and I had an extended stay while we were waiting for our house to close. The views were great, and lots of entertainment for the family. During our stay hurricane irene swept through. We were received with multiple updates from the staff. When the power was out for an extended time at no fault to the resort, they provided options to accommodate us. Kate was amazing to work with. Not only will we be coming to stay again, I will also recommend this place over anything else in the area. Thank you all so much.

So this is the second time we've stayed at this place and again the room looks nice however again I found a empty alcohol can under the bed and a dirty subway napkin. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PLACE AGAIN. Very disappointed with this place. I will say the location is beautiful and the beds very soft but way over priced for what they offer. The room when checking in had an empty wine bottle in it. Also someone left a phone charger in the bedroom outlet. We had no housekeeping for the 2 days we stayed and we had to ask for more towels and toilet paper, which was left in a bag on the front porch. The dining was Very over rated. The breakfast was ok but cost us $63.00 for 3 people. The supper was Very outrageous in cost. My son ordered the lobster mac n' cheese and was forgotten about and when it finally arrived it had shells in it. The waitress only took off $4.00 from the bill which ended up costing $200. The "resort" would have been fine if it wasn't so expensive. We've stayed at hotels with much better service and cost significantly less. Very disappointed with this place and I will not recommend.

My group had an amazing weekend here! We came for a bachelorette party, and the team went out of their way to make the bride and her friends feel special. The beach was gorgeous, our chalets were immaculate, the lagoon was so fun to paddle around, the taproom at the Main Lodge was great, and the town was nearby. Everyone wants to come back!!

A perfect summer day driving into the resort. Immediately one felt a presence of warmth and calm. Check in was professional, informative and friendly. The dining room was open and beautiful views. Dinner began with a biscuit and molasses butter. Was unsure on the molasses butter, a treat indeed. Ordered the fish and was absolutely delicious. Loved my room with my own quaint little deck. Walking the grounds, right on the beach, was calming and relaxing. The staff were always ensuring the safety of guests, masks at all times(they weren’t mandatory at this point) and always made their guests comfortable. They have quaint local crafts and art, for sale In their lobby. Breakfast was delicious. Absolutely a perfect vacation spot for families, couples or that solo road trip where one just needs that time to refresh ones batteries. This is a get away that offers everything you may need, especially that rest we all desire. I’ll be back. Thank you to Wes and his great staff for creating a place of summer safety with fun, good food, great rest and a perfect summer get away.

Was here with my wife to visit a family member staying at the lodge. The place is really NICE! Beautiful views overlooking the ocean and night light filled with stars was breathtaking! Has spots for bonfires and outdoor seating options. Great place to enjoy nature's beauty! Rooms are all wood and log cabins (depending on the type of dwelling option you choose). Overall service could be better and a few more parking spots would be nice. All in all its a great get-away place in the beautiful Pictou County, NS. THANK YOU!

This is a beautiful location right on the water. The accommodations were very comfortable. It has a classic lodge feel; much of the architecture is log cabin build. The service was excellent and friendly. We had drinks and ate a delicious dinner at the bar. Great spot for a quiet walk on the beach and a peaceful waterside location. It is a very family-friendly location. The sunrise was amazing but early. We saw an eagle sitting at the water's edge.

Just a beautiful property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious with a nice sitting area. The best was the views, every turn off the head was more beautiful than the last. The restaurant food was out of this world and the bartender was great over on the bar side. I can't wait to come back.

Cabot Cape Breton is an upscale oceanfront golf resort located near the Cabot Trail. It offers modern rooms, stunning ocean views, and exceptional dining options. The resort features two award-winning golf courses, Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs, both widely recognized as some of the world's best. Visitors can enjoy a world-class vacation with luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views of the Cape Breton coastline.
Absolutely beautiful golf resort! The courses are stunning, with breathtaking views in every direction. Everyone at Cabot makes you feel special from the moment you arrive — the service is exceptional and truly personalized. Our caddies, Aaron and Claire, were wonderful — friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back. A must-visit for any golf lover! ⛳️🌊

We had a very nice trip here. Both courses are very well done and our fab was Links course. Cliffs is also nice too, however a few silly holes. Staff was very nice and restaurant had excellent food It’s quite expensive so prepare yourself.
Peter K — Google review
I had very high expectations for Cabot Cape Breton given its reputation, but my experience was shockingly bad from start to finish. For a place that markets itself as world-class, the level of service, organization, and hospitality was nowhere near acceptable. The staff seemed indifferent and at times outright dismissive, there was no genuine warmth or effort to make guests feel welcome. Simple requests took ages to be acknowledged, and communication between departments appeared completely disorganized. For the prices they charge, you’d expect attentive, polished service but instead, it felt chaotic and unprofessional. The accommodations were also disappointing: poorly planned, maintenance issues left unresolved, and overall far from the luxury standard that Cabot tries to project online. The food was overpriced and bland, and even basic amenities like Wi-Fi and heating were unreliable during my stay. The golf course may be scenic, but that’s about the only redeeming quality. Everything else from the service to the management’s attitude felt like a complete letdown. It’s all style over substance, and it’s clear they rely more on hype than on delivering real quality. For the cost, you can find far better experiences elsewhere in Nova Scotia, places that actually value their guests and understand what hospitality means. I wouldn’t recommend Cabot Cape Breton to anyone.

My husband and I traveled to Cabot as part of a larger vacation and we finished it with a bang by staying at Cabot. This property is in a fabulous location and boasts amazing views. The staff here are generous and kind and the accommodations are top notch. This exceptional resort provides every possible offering to guests and is well worth the investment. We are grateful for the kindness we received from Bobby and the property management to celebrate our anniversary and renewal of our wedding vows. Absolutely fantastic!!

A must ! From awesome customer service, to great food and drinks, to stunning golf courses, this place is a must for any avid, or non-avid golfer. GM Mark Steenge ensured our stay was memorable with excellent personal touches. The staff and caddies are top notch, friendly, and skilled ! Golf courses like you dream about.
Dennis P — Google review
Cabot Cape Breton is pure golf heaven. From the moment you arrive, everything feels world-class — the views, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail. Cabot Cliffs is breathtaking and challenging with super fast greens, while The Nest — the 11-hole short course — is creative, fun, and perfectly maintained. The pro shop is top-tier, with premium gear, friendly staff, and everything you could possibly need for your round. The amenities for daily guests are outstanding — from the practice facilities with full TrackMan setup to the clubhouse and dining options. And if you stay multiple nights, it only gets better: luxurious rooms, incredible food, and sunsets you’ll never forget. Every corner of Cabot Cape Breton is done right. I’ll be returning again and again for the rest of my life.

Built in 1996 by a passionate yachtsman, this lodge features classic rooms and antique-adorned suites that offer breathtaking dock and ocean views. Guests can enjoy complimentary WiFi and a delicious cooked breakfast to start their day right.
Nice place. We stayed here after we got off the ferry so unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time. Very comfortable and breakfast was good. Since we were arriving late, Host got in touch with us before we arrived to make sure we knew where we could go to get dinner and to see if she could leave anything in the room for us.
Glenn S — Google review
My wife and I were doing a road trip through the valley and around the south shore. We needed a place part way through the trip to overnight and a quick Google search of the area revealed the Argyler with very favourable reviews, a wonderful spot just on the ocean, and excellent service. We arrived later in the evening on a Monday with a reservation for a garden view room. A quick survey of the property showed several very cute looking cottages looking out over the water. So I asked, and for a marginal upgrade cost, we were the proud renters of a beautiful cottage overlooking a somewhat foggy coastline. We were checked in by Elana, one of the owners, and who was absolutely lovely to talk to. It was perfection. Clean, great view and all the amenities you would need. We had a great sleep and enjoyed coffee on the deck the next day. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast in the main building before the other owner, John, checked us out. The property was amazing, the owners are fabulous people, and I could not more highly recommend the Argyler. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a wonderful place to stay off the beaten path. We stayed for one night in The Shanty after getting off the ferry. I wish I had booked a second night to just have a relaxing break on our trip. We had the Argyler host and cater our wedding and we had the best experience! All throughout the planning process they were fast and helpful in answering all our questions. They helped us make our day exactly how we dreamt it would be. The food was amazing! We had haddock and chicken and they were a bit hit! It also made our lives so much easier that they are a one stop shop! My girls stayed on the property the night before and got ready right there which made the day flow so much better. Ceremony and reception all there also! Cannot recommend them enough! We will continue to visit the restaurant to relive our special day again and again!

Trout Point Lodge is an upscale retreat nestled in a remote reserve, offering luxurious suites and cottages for guests. The lodge provides a range of outdoor activities such as kayaking and fishing, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. The dining experience at Trout Point Lodge is exceptional, with two fine-dining restaurants that prioritize regional products, seafood, organic ingredients, and wild woodland delicacies.
Hospitality. Cuisine. Serenity. My wife and I chose Trout Point Lodge for our annual getaway, and it exceeded all our expectations. Nestled in its own little oasis, the lodge offers a perfect blend of warm hospitality, delicious food, and tranquil surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like friends, taking good care of our needs with genuine care. Some standout moments included stargazing under a breathtaking night sky after a very nice dinner—something we’d never experienced before. The guided explanation of the constellations added a fascinating touch. Another highlight was the very peaceful forest walk - where we had the chance to recalibrated ourselves, followed by unwinding in the outdoor hot tub and sauna. When you combine all of this into one weekend, it becomes an truly unforgettable experience. We have absolutely no complaints. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you, Team Trout Point, for creating such a magical experience!

We have gone to the Lodge twice. The first time was great, the second time post pandemic was not so great. Bugs in the room, too warm and too pricey. We felt stuck due to the heavy rains and inability to hike. I think it will be hard for them to stay in business with climate change. Won't be visiting again.

A relaxing, first-class, intimate scale nature retreat with top-notch warm and attentive service, wonderful dining and a gorgeous lodge-in-the-woods-by-the-river setting. Enjoyed cocktails by the fire, nicely imagined and executed fine dining and miles (or kilometers) of secluded hiking and a renewed appreciation for nature. Plus a relaxing hot tub and spa above the river. A perfect weekend escape.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Trout Point Lodge recently, and had an absolutely magical and relaxing time!! From the moment we stepped inside, we were charmed! It was exactly what we were hoping for - the coziness of a rustic lodge with the luxury of a high end resort. We were able to detach and enjoy the quiet of a Canadian backcountry, but be spoiled with amazing food, activities and services when we want to connect. We tried new experiences like Forest Bathing which was grounding and very healing for me, a wooden hot tub overlooking the Tusket river with a Finnish sauna nearby, and amazing Star Gazing where we saw Saturn, Jupiter, Polaris the North Star, a shooting star (!), the Milky Way, Cassiopea and so many other constellations! I am an avid traveller and have stayed in many many different places and I can absolutely say that Trout Point Lodge stood out as a unique and special place that I will not easily forget. Can't recommend this truly outstanding place enough
Rina S — Google review
We didn't have the best experience. End of season was obvious and service was less than expected. There is a weird 'don't lock your room door' policy. You should not LOCK your door when you are not in your room. We had a random stranger walk right in while lying in bed. Food was good but not amazing. Again, the hype of this lodge was not met. For the cost per night, I would not go back
Juri W — Google review
My wife and I had such an incredible honeymoon at Trout Point Lodge! Staff were beyond accommodating and made us feel so comfortable at all times. We took part in so many activities while we were there including stargazing, forest bathing, hiking, kayaking, hot tub and sauna, cold river plunge, massages, and yoga. Our room was immaculate and luxurious but still rustic which we loved. The food is to die for, every meal was such a fun experience! We enjoyed all the hot beverages available as well as going to the lodge for tea time snacks. The cocktails were delicious and I enjoyed some bottles of local Rummed Cider. The staff were really a highlight for us, such a fantastic team! We can't wait to come back

We spent 3 nights at the Trout Point Lodge in early October to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and had an extraordinary visit. As we drove up the long, bucolic dirt road leading to the lodge, we sensed that we were going to have a very special experience. After being greeted with a glass of wine and a run-down of the many amenities, Cheryl kindly suggested that we take a dip in the hot tub which we ended up doing each day in the late afternoon. How lovely to soak and relax next to the flowing river and fall foliage! The dinners (and breakfasts) were all outstanding as was the service. Since we were fortunate to have beautiful, mild weather, we were able to dine out on the patio and afterwards enjoy the cozy bonfire which Chris consistently kept tending to. We took advantage of the nicely maintained forest trails, the kayaking and the observation deck where the night sky was just amazing! We also enjoyed some great live music one night while sipping on cocktails which the staff perfectly crafted. We stayed in the Napier room on the bottom floor of the lodge which was absolutely lovely with a sitting area, large comfortable king-sized bed and a modern bathroom with an inviting soaking tub. There were Adirondack chairs outside our room which faced the front of the lodge, but we preferred relaxing in the little areas tucked away on the property which overlooked the water and unbelievable fall foliage. We had to check-out very early in order to catch a morning ferry, and the lodge provided us with a wonderful breakfast to-go. We highly recommend the Trout Point Lodge for a special experience where you can unplug and connect with the beauties of the Nova Scotia wilderness.

What a truly wonderful, wonderful place. If you’re looking for a place to unplug and relax you have found it. I had the pleasure to stay for 2 nights (we chose the 2 night getaway package) last summer and I can’t say enough good things about this oasis in the woods. We were greeted so warmly and offered wine when we first arrived and a tour of the grounds. Our room was so sweet with a small fireplace. We had a delicious breakfast both mornings and a 4 course dinner each night, once in the dining room and once outside. The entire meal was incredible and the service was excellent. We chose to do the star gazing tour one night and it was truly magical to look up and see all of the stars in the complete darkness and the guide was very knowledgeable. We also did kayaking and enjoyed the wood fired hot tub. One evening there was live music on the patio that we enjoyed with one of the delicious drinks made by the bartender in the great room. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer. I can only hope I’ll be lucky enough to visit again!

Nestled on the western outskirts of Halifax, Best Western Plus Chocolate Lake Hotel offers a delightful stay with free breakfast and picturesque lake views. The property boasts ample outdoor space, making it an ideal choice for dog owners. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms, a gym, indoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. The hotel's location provides easy access to Downtown Halifax and Dartmouth's vibrant community with cozy cafes and top-notch restaurants.
Pros; Polite friendly staff, Nice updated room. There were a lot of options for TV, allowing people to log in to their streaming platforms, bed was comfy. Breakfast was terrific!! Overall, pretty clean room and hotel and a very quiet area with a lovely view. Cons; Not many pillows when 2 people in the room, bathroom quite small but not much can be done to fix that. The soap and lotion dispenser were empty; rude, noisy neighbours who kept letting their door slam shut very often. I suggest a note on the inside of each door reminding people to be aware and considerate when leaving and entering their rooms. Parking seems limited but there are several parking areas around the property. I’m aware a couple of the issues aren’t in the hotels control. I’d stay here again!!

Great affordable hotel with really friendly service :) we had a nice view of chocolate lake from room 810. The pool was empty and had it to myself! Quite warm too. Clean hotel (they were always cleaning), yummy free breakfast. Also the location was fantastic and quiet, only 7 min to dt. We enjoyed our stay and would be back! 1 star off only because I wish they had a hot tub and the elevator was out of service the whole 3 days we were there so made for long elevator waits but we used the stairs.

The stay was alright. Booked a room with king bed and lake view. The room smelled sorta like feet. Kinda the only way I can explain it lol... Other than that the room was fine and appeared clean. Staff at the front desk/lobby weren't unkind, but they also weren't very friendly either. I wish I'd caught the name of the man that served us at the hotel bar though, he was great! All in all, for Best Western Plus, which is more expensive than a regular best western, I expected more and was pretty let down. Our stay at Best Western (not BW Plus) in Truro was much more enjoyable and cheaper. The room there was bigger, bed was comfier and the staff were more approachable.

If we had received a room on the lake side our review would likely be a 5. But for $325 a view of the parking lot, in these tiny rooms was a tad disappointing. We don’t have time to explore the beautiful lake, pool or pub, but it does look beautiful on the other side and well kept. The hotel although as tiny as humanely possible, at least has had the clever design of adding a small eating area, the tv worked well, there’s an alarm clock, the beds are super comfy with nice fluffy pillows and it’s very clean. I loved that there are no stairs, the black out curtains work well and the A/C is nice and cold. A functional place, well taken care of and easy to check in. Although overly priced, it’s certainly a safe bet.

This was a good stay, but there are a few notable remarks to make. What we liked was it has a great view of Chocolate Lake, and is fairly easy to get right downtown during rush hour. The room was pretty quiet and the restaurant was really good, with a balcony area overlooking Chocolate Lake. The staff was also very pleasant and helpful and easy to find. What we didn't like was the parking lot and features inside. First, the entrance area is very compact. When we first got there, we had to park around back to actually check in, because cars were blocking the entrance in front of the doors. Second, the rooms, though spacious, were a littled outdated (not a big deal), but the crank windows didn't have a screen and a child could easily fall out if opened. We also noticed the hallways (at least on the 9th floor) was rather cold, like they weren't heated (or maybe because of the season they hadn't quite switched on the heat yet as it needed to be cooled during the day. On top of that, the fitness room was a decent size, but they could use some different machines. Fortunately I was the only one in there, but if a second person was there, we would have had to share a lot of the equipment (room was a decent size, but equipment was lacking). Lastly, the elevators are VERY small. We fit my wife, our stroller, and the hotel cart. I could barely fit in once all that was in there and I'm not a big guy. Overall, we would stay here again, but there are a few things to be aware of, especially the window situation for families with small children.

Second time staying at this hotel. We really like it. Rooms are good, breakfast is pretty good, I love the complimentary coffee machine in the lounge. Lots of parking, although limited with parking off the main lobby. Can be tricky leaving depending on the time and direction, as it's close to a busy roundabout. Not a ton in walking distance, but just a few mins drive to many spots in the area. The lake is cute, and quite popular with lots of swimmers.

We had unexpected mechanical issues during our travels and ended up staying in Halifax for 10 days. What could’ve been a stressful detour turned into a genuinely pleasant experience thanks to this property and its wonderful staff. The location backs onto Chocolate Lake, with a peaceful green lawn that’s perfect for relaxing or enjoying the view. It’s truly dog-friendly—our little pup was welcomed with kindness by everyone we met. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable, scenic, and pet-friendly stay in Halifax.

Staff were really friendly and check in/out was super fast. Rooms were nice, good ac, and clean. Our only issue was that our key cards had to be reset 3-4 times during our stay. There aren't a lot of shops/ cafes in walking distance, but its a good location with a car.

The Best Western Plus Dartmouth Hotel & Suites is a 4-story hotel located in the heart of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It provides modern accommodations with on-site dining options and a variety of exceptional in-room amenities. The hotel also offers free hot breakfast and an indoor swimming pool.
We stayed 9 nights in a business king room. Room was great, comfort, clean and spacious. All of the staff were terrific, the hot free breakfast excellent, and the topper was the pub in the hotel itself. Wonderful food which we sampled several times and were quite satisfied each time. With the quiet location, the great people, reasonable price and in a great spot in the Dartmouth area, I would heartily recommend this hotel as my first choice to stay at.

Great experience overall. I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend for 3 nights. The service was so good and it was comfortable there. The location was perfect to go anywhere. The main thing i like about this hotel is the breakfast they serve. Good for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. I recommend everybody if you are looking for a relax stay in Halifax. Must visit this hotel.

Great stay overall! The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean, and the cleaning and maintenance teams did a great job. Buffet attendants were polite and kept things tidy. Loved the location too — convenient and easy to get around. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice hotel. Pool and slide enjoyable as was the exercise room. Breakfast was fine, coffee freshly ground free in the foyer was really wonderful. Nice location. Unfortunately, being petite in stature, I tend to curl up in bed near the top end. I'm 73. When I got up in the morning and threw the covers aside, I noticed a blood stain near the middle of the mattress on the side of the bed, going down the side of the sheet. I noticed a lady attending to a room opposite, and asked her to come in. She came and looked, apologized and immediately changed the sheets. She said she would report it to the front desk. I heard nothing further and was upset that the manager or supervisor did not have the decency to apologize. This was on August 21st 2025 in room 232. As we were there for three nights I thought someone should have offered a formal apology. That blood could have contained any kind of infection. Plus if the bottom sheet had not been changed that I suppose the top sheet and pillow cases probably hadn't been. Needless to say, I was very upset about the room.

Good location, easy to get too. The room we had was quite large, quiet and clean. King bed plus two tv's. Complimentary breakfast plus 24 hour coffee. Lots of parking.

Best Western Plus has never disappointed me. They maintain very high standards that seem consistent across all their locations in Canada. Check-in was fast, the staff were friendly, and access to the elevators and rooms was easy. As always, everything was spotless—clean throughout from the lobby to the room. There’s a gastro pub to the right of the main entrance that seemed to be quite popular, though we chose to eat outside of the hotel. Unfortunately, my room faced a wall—literally about a foot away from the window. Not exactly scenic! It’s not a big deal for me since I wasn’t there for the view, but if that matters to you, I’d recommend calling ahead to request a room with a better outlook. Aside from that small detail, BWP remains top-notch in both standards and quality. It’s always our safe space on the road, and we’ll continue to trust them whenever we travel.

Alt Hotel Halifax Airport offers contemporary and polished accommodations, making it a convenient choice for travelers flying into Halifax. The hotel features spacious rooms with comfortable beds, good showers, and decent coffee facilities. Guests can enjoy the grab-and-go cafe as well as amenities like a pool and gym. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near the car rental facility. Visitors have praised the attached pizza place for its reasonable prices and great selection of food and drinks.
Recently stayed at the beginning and the end of my trip to Nova Scotia. The airport was a Skywalk and a hallway away from the hotel, which the convenience was very much appreciated after an unexpected 27.5 hr day of travel. My flight in was delayed and resulted in getting checked in super late, well after midnight, around 2am and everyone at the front desk was very helpful as if it was any other time of the day. I was easily checked into my very modern, updated, and uniquely decorated room, overlooking the airport and runway. Very unique and modern amenities. Each floor is adorned with one of the bright colors in their logo (red, pink, purple, green) when you get out of the elevator and the specific floors colors are accents throughout. Sosta! Pizzeria in the lobby has various food options, including options for specific dirtary restrictions (gf&df) to purchase from 6am til around 11pm, it said that later food options may be available for later flights, however I did not utilize those services. The hotel is along a bus route in and out of Halifax and the other nearby areas, which is easy to utilize and relatively inexpensive. The check out process was also very simple. When I return to Halifax, I'll be planning to stay at thr Alt Hotel again. Great experience and hospitality from everyone I encountered during my stay

Had the pleasure staying here for the first time in October, even if I had meetings downtown Halifax, it was easy to go back and forth. The room was excellent and incredible view of the airplanes. Great blinds to hide the lights, very very comfortable bed and a couple of free Nespresso coffee pods in room. Working desk was very well appointed. Definitely a place to stay. Returning the rent a car was so easy and just a few steps to get into the terminal. Ohh and if I can add, my check out was treated by the dog Wishbone so that clearly made my day.

We choose this hotel for the location before a flight and that part was perfect! The rooms were decent but very small. The painted black plywood on the ceiling was odd to me. It made the room feel like a dungeon. The restaurant in the hotel was very good!
Ashley M — Google review
This is the bomb for staying right at the airport! The Alt did an outstanding job soundproofing the building. We couldn't hear the planes even though we could see them taking off and landing right out our window on the 10th floor. Couldn't hear the elevator right next to our room. Fantastic! High marks for multiple USB A&C plugs, as well as conventional electric outlets. The room was generously proportioned and the beds were comfortable. The entire place was super clean and modern. The decor focused more on style than comfort - the chairs were great to look at but very uncomfortable for sitting. Bathroom was well sized, and plenty of towels. The closet was a bit small and there was insufficient storage for the contents of our luggage. But for a double Q room with 4 adults, we couldn't ask for more. Plus, this is an airport hotel where guests come and go quickly - many are likely one-night stands, so to speak. Overall, 2 thumbs up for the purpose of this hotel. And they charge accordingly. I'd say a bit stiff on price, but for the convenience and a good night's sleep, I'd come again... and again.

Great experience at the Alt Hotel Halifax Airport in August 2025! For some reason the entire city was booked on a Saturday evening and managed to get a room here as a last resort. It was a bit annoying to drive back to the airport after a day around the city but the overall experience was great! I've stayed at a few Alt hotels before and this one has similarly modern and tastefully finished rooms. The proximity to the airport is of course very handy and it made for an entertaining rum walk in the evening. Only thing that could be improved is that there is no designated parking for the hotel (which is fine) but it isn't really that obvious what you are supposed to do when you arrive. At least some temporary parking while you check in would be useful.
J B — Google review
Checked in was great, I asked the lady on the counter what time breakfast is since my flight was at 8am. She informed me it was at 6am. Went to get breakfast at 6am, was informed breakfast was at 6:30am but the woman there said I can grab a sandwich which I think was good that they considered in giving me something to eat before heading to the airport. However, after checking my credit card they charge me almost $15 for a sandwich which was suppose to be a substitute for my free breakfast! I was not happy, I paid $280 for a night with free breakfast, and ended up paying $15 for a little sandwich!

Recommend this hotel if you are taking an early flight, or like us, have oversized baggage that requires check in because you do not require a shuttle. The hotel is a short walk across a covered walkway to the departures. The room is well appointed with coffee and tea and mini fridge. The bed is super comfortable and we had a great sleep be cause it was quiet and blackout curtains. We had dinner at the restaurant near the lobby of the hotel and it was great. Fully licensed and most things that you would like. I had pizza, if you like thin crust pizza, I would recommend it.

Wonderful hotel I stay at PLENTY. Love the connection to the airport. Rooms are very nice. Super quiet. Even when you walk in the hall and you happen to be placed next to the ice machine. The Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Halifax - Dartmouth is a modern hotel located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The hotel is conveniently situated near the Dartmouth Crossing shopping complex and just a short drive from Halifax. I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The check-in process was smooth and friendly, and I was immediately impressed by how clean, modern, and beautifully maintained the property was. The room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed with every little detail taken care of—comfortable bedding, great amenities, and a stunning view. Housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping everything perfect throughout my stay. What truly stood out, though, was the service. Every staff member I interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. They anticipated my needs before I even had to ask, which made the experience feel extra special. The on-site dining was another highlight—delicious food with excellent presentation and service. I also appreciated the amenities like the pool, gym, and lounge areas, which made the stay both relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already planning my next visit. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, luxury, and exceptional hospitality!

This hotel is conveniently located in Dartmouth Crossing. It's close (within walking distance) of the commercial hub, where you'll find all the restaurants, outlets, and stores. They're a bit expensive for what you get. The rooms are pretty small and not all that clean. The sofa in my room had drippings all down one side that dried up and it was pretty beat up. I didn't dare sit in it. The office chair in the room was void of any integrity, as well. The bed was comfy but I let them in to change it mid-week and when I got in from work, it wasn't changed. Just tucked-in. They didn't even vacuum. They did change the towels, at least. The breakfast is where it's at, though. It's a nice continental-style buffet. There's a bit of everything and it all seems relatively fresh. They also offer some grab bags at the front desk so you have a morning snack and a bottle of water when you need it. A good idea for the person on the go. They have a nice gym and a nice pool area. However, I wouldn't mind some privacy glass in the pool area like they have for the gym. I noticed a few gawkers while waiting for the elevator. That close to the lobby, it needs to be more private. In all, it's an okay place. They definitely need to work on their pricing as the hotel is starting to feel a bit rundown. They might want cut back on booking large groups a bit.

Great location in Dartmouth Crossing area with the highway right near the hotel. Not noisy at all. The room we had is a bit old. There’s stains in the carpet and around the toilet. Free daily breakfast buffet is part of the stay, and food was good. Fresh waffle maker is always a nice start to the mornings. Rooms were nice and big. Just dated and could use a renovation in the near future.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay Every Time! We stay at this hotel regularly for hospital visits, and every time we’re here, it truly feels like a home away from home. The staff is absolutely amazing; so kind, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They always go above and beyond to make sure we're comfortable, which means the world to us during stressful times. What really touches our hearts is how sweet and friendly they are with my 2-year-old daughter. She’s always greeted with big smiles, and they make her feel just as special as we do. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and we’re so grateful for the warmth and care we receive here. Thank you for making every stay feel safe, comfortable, and full of kindness. You’re truly the best!

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Dartmouth and had a really good experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which made for a relaxing stay. Breakfast in the morning had a nice variety, and the pool and fitness area were a great bonus. What stood out the most was the service — the front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful, always ready to answer questions or give directions. Overall, it felt like a well-kept hotel with great hospitality. Would definitely stay again.
Ashutosh S — Google review
Lovely hotel, I didn't rate the rooms as I personally never stayed in the room I was in town for a business meeting in the hotel, so I can't critique what I never interacted with. The service was wonderful though, plenty of spacious parking, and walking distance to 25 restaurants and amenities like hairdressing and tanning booths. If you're in Dartmouth and want to save gas driving, look no further than this inn.

Rationed cookies on checkin The breakfast is meh. I call it prison food. No cut veggies or fruit. They do have green bananas and apples. No spices, salsa or tobasco. Not much in pastries (a muffin a scone). Syrup packets weren't maple. My room had no hair conditioner (empty pump container). Other family room beds were not made when they returned in the evening. Beds comfortable. Rooms did not smell. Windows do not open.

Situated near major attractions like the Citadel and Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the hotel provides easy access to historic sites and entertainment options.
We stayed at the Hollis celebrating our anniversary. We had a great time, The room was lovely, spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had breakfast at the hotel and was pleased to see so many vegetarian choices. I stayed here for work for a few days....excellent location, just 2 blocks from the harbour, and 2 blocks from the Halifax Convention Centre. The warm cookie complimentary at arrival sure makes a difference! It was much appreciated. The concierge service was also great; personable and helpful. The suite room I got was BIG, and reasonably priced. The pool is nice although a bit small. Gym is full serviced. Overall, if returning to Halifax, I would stay at this location again. Lovely staff, very generously sized room, and excellent location for sightseeing.

Hotel was good. Good location and room was nice. Pool area was good. Decent enough gym. Hot tub was small, something you would find at a friends house, and was un kept and dirty. Ended up with a rash from the dirty water. Didn't realize things until I noticed a rash a few days later. Would expect a Hilton to have better hot tub maintenance.

We stayed here for several days in July. The hotel was perfect. The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The hotel location was perfect. Short walk to the boardwalk, restaurants, and many attractions. The staff were absolutely amazing. There was a very slight delay checking in but Wit was amazing and ensured we were comfortable while we waited. Great attention to service. The breakfasts were really good. Aeriana and Sarah served us breakfast. They were so friendly and nice. Typical East Coasters. They talked to us every morning and shared recommendations for restaurants and tour locations. This is a great hotel with amazing people.
Don B — Google review
Poor front desk responsiveness – calls from the room were never answered regardless of the time of day. Staff were unprofessional (one employee was wearing pool sandals with his uniform). The mini-store fridge was never re-stocked once during a five-day stay. Valet service was extremely slow, averaging 45 minutes daily, with no option to call ahead. Rooms were dirty, the AC was not functioning, and housekeeping arrived as late as 5:00 PM on one occasion. While the location is convenient, the property is poorly managed, overpriced, and offers far better alternatives nearby.

This hotel could be good, but our experience was frustrating. We were a larger group staying for a work event and had our breakfast included in our room rate. Breakfast here is plated to order, but it took nearly an hour each moring order, eat and get out because it was short staffed every day. We were confused about the process, frustrated with the wait and disappointed in the food. One person in our group got charged for all the breakfasts even though they were supposed to be included and we had to dispute. Then when I checked my credit card statement I got charged for a bottle of water that I never came anywhere near. They reversed the charge but that's a dirty tactic in my opinion. The rooms are big but have a few issues. Some mornings the water was cold, no sheers on the windows with a million balconies looking in and odd dark and depressing living spaces no one actually wants to be in. The hotel was also freezing the entire week. The bed was clean but I dont know that I'll endorse staying here next time.

After considering many other options in Halifax, we went with the Hollis and it turned out to be amazing! Location is ideal to discover the city, the service is outstanding, the rooms are neat (we had a king suite with harbour view on the top floor, wow), the pool & jacuzzi are nice and the complimentary breakfast is exceptional. Kudos to Hilton for offering such a reasonable deal for what turned out to be the best hotel we've stayed at in recent years.

We stayed four nights at DoubleTree Hollis. I'll give it 3.5 stars. PROs It's in a great location, I think we were upgraded to a bigger suite; the rooms were huge and the couches were in great condition. CONs However, the room was really dark, we couldn't open the curtains because the construction workers and building next door can see into our room. Our room was only cleaned once. (Would've been nice to have the room cleaned yesterday). I'd stay here again, but would like a better located room with more light.

Loved the hotel. The rooms were nicely updated. We had a king suite and the room was spacious and so were the bathrooms. The pool was a hit for our son. Loved the slide. The pool itself it quite small and quite cold. Not sure if the heater was broken or something but was quite frigid. Hot tub was decent too. Location is industrial so nothing around. You need to drive to places. We’d recommend this hotel but would love the pool to be warmer.

Stayed here for my daughter’s birthday party this past weekend! Rooms were clean, the kids had a blast in the pool (especially the slide), icecream bar was a hit. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely recommended staying here with kids.

The small touches of this hotel are above and beyond. The staff at check in, the bar, and Harjeet especially were very friendly and helpful. The Pantry is a welcome concept. The apple and spinach salad’s presentation was unexpected and delightful. The gym is large and very clean.

Everything was good, but I was surprised that there were no slippers in the room. Also, I don’t think religious books should be placed in the room. People have different beliefs, and that’s completely fine — especially in a hotel, especially in Canada. No particular religion should be promoted in the hotel room. If you wish to provide them, that’s okay, but maybe keep them on a shelf with other books, including those from different religions.

Great experience staying at this hotel. Beautiful hotel. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. Great service. Will definitely choose this hotel in future visits to Halifax.

This was a great place to stay before an early morning flight out, and to leave the car for two weeks, for only $40/week. The room was clean and quiet, and the mattress was nice and firm. We didn't have the breakfast this time, but will be happy to try it when we come back on a late night flight. Front desk staff were really nice, and the 24/7 complimentary airport shuttle is great!

The room was not clean and breakfast wasn't fresh. Stayed with my husband and 3 year old. The floor in the bathroom was not clean and the stand up shower had pink, mildew. We asked for the room to be cleaned and the staff changed the sheets but the bathroom floor remained dirty. See pictures. The breakfast tasted like re-heated frozen foods. The hot water machine had calcium built-up. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the other staff seemed stressed. The location is less than 5 minutes from the Halifax airport which was great for us.

We stayed here after arriving on late night flight. The gov rate was very good. The bed and pillows were outstandingly soft and we slept well. Our room was next to the elevators, which made it a bit loud, but the breakfast and coffee were nice in the morning. The shower was good and hot too. We'd stay again. Thanks!

Suited our needs perfectly the night before we were catching a flight home. Airport shuttle guy was the best! Breakfast was very good, lots of choices. Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the Cafe area was nice. Room was impeccably clean. Request for extra towels and pillows were delivered right away with a big smile.

Of all the hotels we've stayed at over the years, this one might be the best one yet. The room was super clean, updated, and the staff were amazing. They had a crib we could use for our son and brought it up to the room, which was easy to set up in seconds. The breakfast was amazing. Full on omelettes, not this powdered egg crap. It was a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, as well as pancakes, and the usual assortments of yogurt, cereal, breads, etc. The breakfast area is very open and bright and clean. Location is really good for the airport, but the airport is about 20-30 minutes away from Dartmouth/Halifax. The good thing is it felt really safe as there were no sketchy people walking around. Lots of parking as well. Easy to load in and out.

I had a recent five night and a two night stop here. I’m a big advocate of Holiday Inn Express Hotels and this one certainly did not disappoint. A friendly welcome on arrival with a super clean room. The breakfast is amazing with a wide variety of choice and plenty of seating. They do not have an evening restaurant but the front desk suggested The Cannery Social located in the The Hilton Garden Hotel next door which is a very short walk and did not disappoint. I had a rental but there is a transit bus which goes into Halifax from outside the Hilton every half/hour depending on the time of day. Journey time is about fifty minutes and drops off about a five minute walk from The Waterfront area. I took a three day trip away between stays and the hotel very kindly looked after my large suitcase which I didn’t need for the trip. A very spacious car park and excellent WiFi. Overall a most enjoyable stay!

Clean lobby and room. Friendly and helpful staff. Front clerk was by himself and got me some extra towels. Room was modern with lots of outlets. Environmentally friendly practices. Hotel store was expensive, but they always are. Close to the airport and with an efficient shuttle running around the clock. Not much else close by though. Had coffee and some breakfast items available when we left before 4 am, which was appreciated.
Scott J — Google review
There was poop on my bathroom wall from a previous guest that I had to ask housekeeping to clean. Also not sure what's going on with their ventilation...but I was staying on the 6th floor and every morning around ~5 am I started to be overcome with the smell of turkey breakfast sausages from their kitchen. I would have simply let them know about these things at checkout but no one asked me how my stay was.

Additionally, the catering services are highly regarded, providing delicious meals for conferences and events.
My stay at IOP was a great experience. The whole facility is clean and the staff welcoming. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff are all friendly. The breakfast was very good, with a good selection to choose from. Staff dish your meal, which I appreciated. Food was well prepared and tasty. I hope to stay there again soon. I would recommend Inn on Prince to anyone who appreciates a beautiful room and all the amenities, at a reasonable cost.

My husband had a conference here and we stayed 3 nights. The rooms are a little older, but clean, quiet, and comfortable. The pool area is older and the water was a little cloudy but clean and refreshing after a long day. Amazing staff and the Bistro food & service is top notch.
Jo M — Google review
We stayed in the family room with a bunk bed and queen bed. Very functional room, we loved that the kids had a separate space with their own tv and the kid friendly bedding. The breakfast was decent with friendly staff , loved the fresh cut up fruit. We used the pool and the gym. The equipment is older but you could definitely get a good workout in , I liked that multiple sanitizing bottles with towels were available. I also was happy to see a water cooler available in the main lobby. While the stay was decent I do find this heavily overpriced at $273 a night and that’s with my CAA discount for the condition of the hotel. Room for improvement suggestions would be it needs to be updated and cleanliness needs to be addressed , especially in high touch areas. The alarm clock and phone were covered in dust which I think if the room was just serviced that should have been wiped down and dust bunnies between the mattress and bed frame. Two other things we noticed was one of our pillows smelt awful(stinky cheese) ,We had 3 other pillows so we just didn’t use that one and when I went to wash my hair in the morning there was only one pump of conditioner because it was empty. Overall okay place to stay if you can find a deal online.

Good location. Busy. Good service for sure. They are prompt and get you what you need - take care of you. Only downside is cleanliness of the rooms - the pictures on Kayak/their own website do not compare to in-person view. Floors were sticky, missing towels (2 vs 4). The bathroom was tight; tub and toilet in one room and the entry has the sink. I normally take off my shoes but that was not going to happen here.

Booked a room After a cancelled flight here and the staff was incredible. Accommodating to all of us very late at night and helping us through the ordeal. Especially Ashley, cross trained legend. If her boss reads this: she deserves a raise now.

The amenities and breakfast were good but cleanliness not so much. There was hair on our beds which we complained about. Got moved to another room but it wasn't much better. There were still hair on the pillows. Had to put some away and we gave up on moving. There was also hair in the bathtub in the second room and one of the bulbs was out making the bathroom dark. Sheets and blankets seemed old and some had stains. Would likely not stay there again.

Checked in on 28 June for three nights. extremely run down room with ripped carpet, thread bare hand towels, sagged mattress, rusty and old musty bathroom. Went for a family wedding. Bride had booked the honeymoon suite for their reception party( her home town). Wedding took place in Ottawa earlier. On arrival were told the owner has decided to stay in that room and were given no apology or choice but to take a regular room like the ones or similar to to the pics. Guess owner knew how bad the rooms were.

5 stars all around. Beautiful resort on the river. There’s everything you could want right on the property. My husband and I stayed in one of the 1Br king bed cottages. It was very clean and comfortable. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and very service oriented. I hope we get to come back here some day!!

It was by luck that my wife booked us here for three nights and the fact that we have a dog and it's pet friendly. Honestly it was our first time as a family to PEI and we couldn't have picked a better place to start it all off. The resort is really stunning and situated on the Brudenell River there are a variety of great views to be had. Our room was perfectly situated on ground level and my boys really enjoyed the pools. We kind of just hunkered down on site with a few day excursions. The restaurant was nice with live music at night. The Golf course is beautiful and adds to the excitement and busyness of the resort which at times feels like a Caribbean all inclusive, very classy, and exclusive feeling . My first time at a Rodd Hotel, but very impressed and happy to be part of a privately owned affair. Now to the best part of the hotel: the staff! I mean truly the nicest people on earth. It made me be on the side of the islanders everytime, they're just such sweet top notch people with such good manners and heart. I will be returning here God willing and that will have a large part to do with the staff. Nice is so rare these days. PEI is certainly a blessed place. Definitely highly recommend this as a stop for families and couples

We stayed in the room 218. This room had a really comfortable bed and a quiet air conditioner giving us a good night’s sleep. The room is well equipped with even a microwave, and has views of the beautiful coastline from the window. We enjoyed using the warm indoor pool and jacuzzi, and (plenty of towels were available). There was also a sauna in the single sex changing room and another outdoor pool which we didn’t use. We did not use the golf resort but used the hotel to tour the local area. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay thank you.

What an amazing 2 days spent at this beautiful resort. I even was brave enough to play golf just did it for the views and the course. The service at the pro shop was so professional. All the staff at the property were always all smiles and welcoming. The food was fresh and great service by all the staff. Thank you, I will be back. Ohh and don’t forget to stop at the fire pit. Merci-thank you Rodd Hotels. Can’t wait to visit your other properties.

We recently had our wedding at Rodd Brudenell and could not have been happier with the support and hospitality from the Brudenell River Resort team! From planning with Jamie to watching the weekend come to life with the support of the rest of the team, they made us and our guests feel taken care of the entire time. From the many activities the resort offers to the excellent accommodation options and services, everyone went above and beyond. Thank you for making our wedding dreams come true and hosting us in such a beautiful place!

Hidden gem of a place with a beautiful view and lots to do. Wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms are spacious and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Fluffy towels and amazingly friendly staff. There is a golf course and provincial park, sandy beach and lovely water view. I wish I knew about the indoor pool - I only saw the outdoor one and it was too cold to swim. Tried to walk to the island that has a historical cemetery but it was late evening and too many mosquitoes near the island. Wish I was staying at least another day! The rooms and whole hotel felt very luxurious and was definitely the poshest hotel of our trip. Can't go wrong staying here as there aren't a ton of options on PEI.

the room / cottage was lovely , right near the water. sadly we had unexpected charges ( they did eventually remove /refund ) the staff was friendly , the course was lovely they restaurant was extremely busy. did not eat many meals in . although the housekeeping staff was friendly they did not replace the cream packages , the course riding stable was completely booked so sadly did not get to go horseback riding.

Motel
Telegraph House & Motel is a charming accommodation with traditional rooms and cabins, located in a converted historic Victorian telegraph house. The property has a unique history, having served as the town's telegraph office since 1861 and hosting inventor Alexander Graham Bell in room 1. The main lodge offers 18 rooms with a mix of old-fashioned and modern decor, while the adjacent motel provides an additional 13 rooms.
We had such a fantastic two-night stay at the Telegraph House. Shawn was extremely welcoming and helped us pick some of the best activities to do each day. He was very helpful and accommodating and you can tell he really cares about his guests. The room was newly updated and the bed was comfortable. They thought of even the small things - there were ample outlets to plug electronics into and a nightstand on each side of the bed. Plus, it’s centrally located in Baddeck right across the street from the best breakfast place in town. Loved the stay, 10/10 would stay again and recommend.
Stephanie M — Google review
This was a very nice and historic place to stay in Baddeck. Cathy (not sure of spelling) at the reception desk was extremely helpful in giving recommendations for cafes, activities, and Northern Lights viewing locations. Rooms were very clean and well set up, although our double bed felt quite small and was very squeaky. The bathroom floor was also very squeaky, and it was a bit odd to have the bathroom sink in the main room itself. The onsite restaurant serves delicious food, although it is very expensive, and you should make a booking to secure a table.
Renata W — Google review
We were a small group who ate at the Telegraph restaurant. Everyone raved about the food from appetizers to desserts. Let’s start with the fact that the restaurant has linen table cloths and napkins. The host Belinda was friendly and informative as well as our waiter. We were there to dine and that’s what was provided. The 5th generation owner came to our table and gave us a brief history of the establishment beginning from the 1800s. The food was priced well and was a great reflection of its quality. When in Baddeck do not pass up the opportunity to dine there. I can not speak of the rooms as the visit was only for dining.

Stayed at Telegraph House September 29 - October 1, 2025 in room 8, which was spacious, including 1 double bed and 1 twin bed. Perfect for two gals on vacation. Rooms in the main lodge are on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. Parking is convenient. Clean, cozy, comfortable in a heritage building. Large wrap-around porch with a partial view of the harbor and of the pretty Main Street. Walking distance to Baddeck's Water Street. Cafes and restaurants also within walking distance. A perfect abode in pretty, sparkling Baddeck.

Quaint little hotel that has been updated... yet still represents its history. Loved our room and the restaurant on site is amazing! Great food (we had the fish cakes and scallops), reasonable prices, nice ambience and the service was excellent! The local pinot grigio was super. Thank you Adrianna for making our visit an amazing one!! 🙂 Note that they don't do breakfasts here... but the Cafe across the street is super! Fresh baked goods and even lunches to go as you continue on your Cabot Trail adventure!! 🚗
Pete D — Google review
Awkwardly designed rooms with an ancient interior design. We stayed in the main house which left much to be desired in terms of quality, size, and basic amenities. Beginning with the quality of the room, you can expect to be sorely disappointed. A 1900s design with none of the charm. Floorboards creaked, doors could not be shut fully and you can hear all of your neighbours. The layout of the room was incredibly awkward and you can tell the renovations were done without much thought. Onto basic amenities, I don't go to cheap stays expecting much, but this stay had definitely left us shocked. There are no easily accessible plugs near the beds, so be prepared to do a little crawling to unplug the nearby lamp. The Wi-Fi is basically inoperable so be prepared to use up your cellular data. And lastly, the most horrific part of our stay, the shower. The shower water temperature would consistently switch back and forth from extremely hot to extremely cold without a moments notice. The same happens with the faucet. If you're in Baddeck, you've likely had a long day or are preparing for a long day in Cape Breton. Being unable to access the simple joy of a nice warm shower was the straw that broke the camels back during our stay at the Telegraph House & Motel. Stay elsewhere if you can, and if you've already booked, beware.

We really enjoyed our stay and especially the restaurant. We stayed in the main building. The room was simple and just fine for us. The staff was lovely. We’re quite pleased with everything. We’d be very happy to come back.

Nice hotel/motel. Very convenient location for doing Cabot Trail. Staff very friendly, and it was a clean place to stay. My only complaint, and this is personal preference, is that the mattress was a little too hard for my liking. There is a nice café across the street and a decent pizza place a couple minutes walk away (like, literally 2-3 minutes walking) and some other nice restaurants within a few minutes walk as well. There is a nice wharf close by to sit with your coffee from the café nearby too.

What a great spot! Have visited here quite a few times over the years and love it. The location is excellent, being right on the lake, and the views are hard to beat (especially in the fall🤩). The cottages and nice and roomy and very clean. The Lodge is beautiful and great for groups. It's a great place to explore the island from as it's very central. Also a great place to skidoo from in the winter, if you're into that. Can't say enough good things about Keltic Quay, highly recommend!

Sheila the owner was very helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Clean, spacious 2 bedroom cabin. Our teens enjoyed the many games in the lodge and we all enjoyed the kayaks offered on site. The washer/dryer in our unit was a great convenience.
Diane C — Google review
We absolutely loved our stay at Ketlic Quay. We stayed in cottage 5A (2 bedroom cottage) for 3 nights in July. The cottages are really spacious and have everything you need for your stay. They are literally meters away from the lake where we saw Otters, Golden Eagles, and loads of wading birds. The kids loved the games room, especially the pool table and the shuffleboard table and loved getting out onto the lake in the Canoe's and Kayak's. The cottages are very quiet and peaceful but Whycocomagh is just on the doorstep so plenty of things to do in the area and easy to get groceries and dinner etc. Recommend going up Salt Mountain for a great view of the lake and the Skye River Trail was nice to see a bit of the nature and learn a bit about the original settlers in the area.

Beautiful location. Check in and out can all be done by phone , the property is immaculate. Our cabin was clean, modern and equipped with everything one could need including a porch with a view to die for. I highly recommend you check this place out next time you are in Cape Breton 😀

From the moment we turned into the driveway till the time we left, everything was spectacular. The managers (Sheila and her husband) felt like family. Very informative and kind. Our downstairs cottage had the best view which opened up right into the lake. So much to do, especially because we had the use of the lodge (shuffleboard, a pool table, comfy chairs, a large cribbage board) and the outdoors (sitting on the porch, kayaking, canoeing, peddle boating). What a gem!

Sandra is an incredible realtor. We were moving from Toronto to the HRM and it took something like 4 trips before we found the place for us. Sandra was so determined to find us the perfect home. We lost one place but found something even better suited to us. Sandra never seemed fed up and never lost patience with us which was amazing. We now wake up to this beautiful view of the Bedford Basin each day (and I can enjoy yoga on the balcony). Since moving in we updated the kitchen to truly make it into OUR home. Can't thank Sandra enough.

I immensely enjoyed working with Sandra and her team. She made the process of selling extremely easy. Her caring and knowledgable team were wonderful to deal with throughout the short period of time it took to sell. I particularly liked the efficiency of how things were done. Everything appeared seamless from the time that Sandra first viewed the condo to the staging set by Lisa, and certainly all the professional photographs and videos that were taken and posted. An open house was scheduled, which stimulated much interest and feedback. Thank you so much Sandra! I will not hesitate to seek Sandra‘s help in the future. I certainly will be recommending Sandra and her team to those looking to sell or buy!

Ashburn Golf Club, located in Halifax, offers a stunning venue for weddings and special events. The modern clubhouse features various event spaces and overlooks beautifully manicured golf courses, providing an elegant setting for ceremonies and receptions. This members-only club boasts two challenging 18-hole championship layouts that cater to players of all levels. The well-maintained grounds and picturesque surroundings make it a popular choice for both quick city games and leisurely weekend rounds.
I have to say I really love this place. It is in a beautiful section of the city and is a gorgeous club. The clubhouse is lovely and overlooks the green. We go there every year for our annual Golf Day and Graduation for our medical residents. It is really the only time I have been there, but I am impressed with the caliber of the place, the quality of the food and professionalism of the staff. We hope to be going there for years to come. Despite having such a large group to feed all at once, they seamlessly organize the entire evening without a hitch. A very well run clubhouse.

I was a member from 13 years old to 20. I really enjoyed this course as it easy to get up and down. The best part about this course is that because its members only, there is more of a demand to keep the grounds in top shape. The do a great job at that. If you ever have the chance to become a member you will not be disappointed. With two courses to choose from you can enjoy a quick game in the city or a nice relaxed game on the weekend at course #2.

The Antigonish Victorian Inn offers elegant rooms and apartments within a Queen Anne-style home that preserves its original features. Situated on the main downtown strip of Antigonish, the inn provides easy check-in and check-out processes. While some rooms may require navigating stairs, guests can expect comfortable beds, clean bedrooms, and effective temperature control. The garden suite at the back is particularly praised for its comfort and tranquility.
The inn is beautiful and maintains its original charm. It is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included. There is an iron and ironung board in the room but no coffee maker. Coffee is available in the dining room at 8am. The bed had nice linens and was fairly comfortable. It was great value for the price and I would certainly stay again.

The good? Quante little room with lots of charm, nice location, wifi included, comfortable bed, and a unique stay. The bad? Our room, and the hotel in general, was incredibly humid and warm with the heat pump not working, and no one being around to fix it. No one was around for check in. Not very secured, as the person manning the front desk isn't there and the door isn't locked. Cleaning was another problem, too. It just isn't up kept like you would expect a hotel with this much charm and history to have. Edited the review to reflect the horrendous excuse for a breakfast. Microwaved eggs, air fried sausage and bacon (By the way, you can't get both, you can only get sausage or bacon). No milk for tea, the staff are in sweatpants and demanding you order the second you see the menu. Have to turn on and fill the kettle on your own. Pathetic excuse for the breakfast - and my wife got the French Toast. This was soggy and not cooked all the way. Better off waiting and heading to a better breakfast spot.

Room was fine given it is a historic building. We stayed in the Erie with an attached bathroom. But no noise insulation as could hear neighbouring room come and go. Service was non-existent. When we arrived had to call # despite arriving when indicated in our reservation. Was only given our room key and no welcome or instructions (ie no more than 3-5 words said to us). No offer of assistance with luggage. No one at front desk upon check out. Location was good with easy walk to dinner in downtown.

Deeply Disappointed – This Once-Charming Inn Has Been Neglected We recently stayed at the Victorian Inn in Antigonish, paying $600 for two nights in a family cottage, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, it was clear the unit had not been properly cleaned or maintained. The kitchen was filthy—ant traps placed around, a dirty oven with a cookie sheet still inside, and under the sink was a mess of more ant traps, grimy cloths, and general dirt. The bathroom was no better: the shower curtain was badly stained, the bathtub had a visible ring, and the bathroom fan was so caked with dust it couldn't possibly function properly. Throughout the cottage, surfaces were unclean. The glass coffee table had visible handprints, the door knobs and windows were grimy, and the one throw pillow on the sofa hadn't even been fluffed—it still had the imprint of the previous guest’s nap. The back patio was in poor shape, with rotting boards and no furniture to sit on, making it unusable and unsafe. To make matters worse, there was a coffee maker with a dirty basket but no actual coffee provided. When I spoke with one of the owners' workers at check-out, I was told that just two people were responsible for cleaning 13 rooms in a 4-hour window. That explains a lot, but it also highlights poor management priorities. This building is iconic in Antigonish and deserves so much better. It’s heartbreaking to see it so clearly neglected, with no apparent interest in preserving its reputation or offering guests a respectable stay. Sadly, it seems the owners have chosen to run this once-charming inn into the ground. We will not return—and I can’t in good faith recommend this property to anyone until major improvements are made.

Convenient walking distance to downtown stores and services. Charming decor and very quiet. We stayed in the Erie room on the top floor = lots of stairs, very attractive decor, two beds (very firm mattresses) and its own private bathroom. The place was very clean, service was prompt and courteous. The breakfast part of the B&B was delicious and food arrived quickly. A very economical and attractive choice for accomodations in Antigonish. The only suggestions I would have, would be for the server to make sure they write down your breakfast order, because it's busy and easy to get distracted, and to perhaps have a Keurig so early risers could have access to coffee.

So , Im going to be picky because 99% of the time I book through airbnb . This time, i did not, and I was disappointed . We stayed in the family cottage . Advertised to have a full kitchen When we arrived, it was 25 degrees at least outside, and the aircon was not on . It was really hot so we went out to explore for a while . Antigonish is a beautiful place . Later, I discovered that there was no plug for the tub , no scissors , no frying pan , no oven mitt to take things out of the oven . Empty salt Shaker and I found it funny that there was a lamp on the kitchen counter until I tried to turn on a light . I had to use my phone light to see what I was cooking on the stove because the above light did not work. Coffee maker available, but absolutely NO coffee anywhere , Finally, a dishwasher is advertised and is available, but dishwasher soap/tabs are not provided , nor are dishclothes or dish towels to do the dishes. I had to use a facecloth and hand towel to do the dishes.. For $300 / night, this was unacceptable as far as im concerned.

This grand old Victorian home has not been well-maintained in recent years, with numerous signs of neglect evident in the overgrown gardens, paint, and overall appearance. I had seen reviews where some little items like a lack of hot sauce at breakfast, cobwebs here and there, or squeaky floorboards were cited as reasons to downgrade this establishment, but what we saw was a general neglect. The location and potential are certainly good, but I'm afraid it would take a huge investment to really give this old building the respect it deserves.

Was very impressed with the cleanliness of this establishment. Very comfortable stay with reasonable pricing. Recommend trying "The Brouwnstone Antigonish" restaurant. Delicious!

Cavendish Country Inn & Cottages is a laid-back holiday property offering comfortable rooms and cottages, with two seasonal pools and scenic Gulf views. The location is fantastic, close to the Cavendish Area with plenty of nearby attractions. Guests have praised the excellent service, quick response to maintenance issues, and daily towel replacement. The one-bedroom cottage is well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay.
We have been coming here for years and love this place, very nice clean cabins, service, pools, fire pits and family freindly
Dave B — Google review
We stayed in the motel for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. Our kids enjoyed the pool; it was clean and well maintained. Our room was clean and the staff were friendly. They were good to replace our linens daily and remove any garbage. One thing we feel needs some attention though are the beds. They were so uncomfortable, we could feel the springs from inside the mattress underneath us. We didn’t have a very good sleep at all because of it.
Megan N — Google review
Location is fantastic 😍 It's nice and close to the Cavendish Area. Lots of fun attractions nearby. Service was excellent 👍 The smoke detector battery started dying. They came to replace it within 20mins. Towels are replaced daily as long as you leave out your dirty ones. My daughter threw up one night and got a bit on the sheets - we put those with our towels the next morning and it was delivered back clean for us by that afternoon! The room was clean aside from a pair of panties found on the lamp. Once disposed of, there were no other issues with cleanliness. Has a cabin feel with the wood interior. It had AC. It had a kitchenette with clean + usable utensils, dishes and glassware. Beautiful little balcony/patio area. You could see the ocean from the room. It was nice for the older kids to sit out on the deck/patio in the morning and slowly wake up enjoying the views and fresh ocean air. (there was a breeze even though this property isn't actually on the ocean) They also had 2-3 bonfire pits where campers and other patrons could gather and have a fire. Chat and get to know one another. There were two pool areas each with their own hot tub. We will 100% come back next time we are in PEI.
Samantha R — Google review
We paid over $350 a night for our stay, and chose this place based on reviews. However, the sheets were stained, the cottage smelled musty, the bathroom was stained, old, and outdated. Extremely minimal toiletries with no handsoap. We were very disappointed and left early.
Nima M — Google review
A nice place to spend a few days with comfortable accommodations. It had a pool and hot tub open. It was centrally located for our side trips.
Colleen K — Google review
Cute little cottages in Cavendish. Nicely appointed with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with whirlpool. Not modern but very quaint and cozy for these cabins. The employee working there was quick to help us and went the extra mile for us, however I am not happy that our hot water was broken and could not be fixed so we had to move rooms late at night. I would stay here again, but I believe that some updates to the cottages would be great as there are minor issues and inconsistencies from one room to the next. Ex. dead batteries in remote, some rooms have gas vs electric fireplaces (which doesn't get hot enough), water pressure stopped working in morning, no coffee for guests.
Harish A — Google review
I love staying here great view of the ocean. You are close to so many things, and there is so much to do in the cottage grounds. Great pools and hot tubs, great bon fire areas, fun playgrounds, and games. The rooms themselves are what you would expect for a cottage and have everything you need and are comfy and well cooled with A/C.
Devon A — Google review
Rating 4 stars for what it is: a rustic but quaint overnight experience. It's definitely not fancy or modern but who wants that in PEI anyway? Stayed in a motel room with two double beds. Decor is quite dated. Included a mini fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, glasses & plates and coffee maker. No coffee, though. Also free wifi and TV. Great location in Cavendish - very close to the Boardwalk shops/restaurants and the beautiful PEI National Park. My kids liked the open fields for playing, two pools and a number of playgrounds. It has a family campground kind of vibe. Our fridge and ceiling light did not work when we checked in but staff tried to help within an hour. Staff fixed fridge and brought in a stand up lamp which was a decent solution. I recommend this place for families.

Beach & Breeze Cottages is a charming bayfront property featuring cozy bungalows with fully equipped kitchens, a pool, and direct beach access. The townhouse-style cottages are neatly arranged and well-maintained, offering picturesque views of the water from private decks with BBQ facilities. The accommodating staff ensures a pleasant stay, while the family-friendly amenities like the playground and fire pits make it an ideal spot for both families and couples.
We stayed for 7 nights and this was the perfect spot. Cottages were well maintained and beds were comfortable. Great over all location with well maintained grounds. We were there for a family reunion and this was the perfect location. On the water, playground and pool what else could you want . Don't forget how helpful the staff are
Karen J — Google review
Beach and Breeze Cottage Resort has some appealing pictures, but our experience didn't quite match up. The place wasn't as clean as we expected, and there was a musty smell. However, the staff was cooperative and promptly changed our room, which was somewhat better. For the price, we anticipated better maintenance. The furnishings and amenities felt quite old compared to other places we've stayed. The cottages are tightly packed, leaving little space, and the bedding seemed overused. On a positive note, there's a play area for kids, and the location is good for a vacation. If the deal comes at a cheaper rate, it could be manageable.
Asfa M — Google review
This is not a place i would ever return or recommend to anyone i like. The whole property is in a state of disrepair and the lack of upkeep is concerning. For example, the fence around the pool has hard gaps/holes that a child could easily crawl through. The interior of the townhouse style accommodations is tiny with odd decor choices and well poorly stocked (don’t count on there being any specific kitchen utensils or supplies, there is a random assortment of mismatched things). The toilet had water sitting behind it and the place smelled of urine (only noticeable after I removed a very strong air freshener). The owners responded quickly when I emailed them about it, came and advised they fixed it and gave my husband 20$ for an air freshener (uhm, thank you?). Be prepared to hear your neighbours. The spindles on the decks are wide enough that a baby could probably fit through. I would just say find another place to stay. This isn’t it. It may seem like I am complaining a lot but these are the things I wish I known before booking. The pro would be the view and the kids did enjoy the playground (again, not maintained well). It was nice to be able to watch them on the playground from deck.

I recently returned to Beach and Breeze with my family after visiting 10 years ago for CBMF. While the location and grounds are spectacular and perfect for families, the cottages are becoming a bit run down. Allen and his team were extremely friendly and accommodating when we asked for things, but felt that some cottages were well stocked with kitchen items while others were lacking. For instance, we didn’t have a sharp knife, scissors or a frying pan. We only had one wine glass. Our friends were in another cottage and did have these things. It may have just been our cottage that was missing items. The heat pump worked great and cooled the cottage down perfectly. The playground and pool were both a hit for the kids. Grounds are expertly maintained. Darker/blackout curtains would have been helpful for sleeping babies. Rating as 5 stars considering the price point but certainly think there’s some minor things that would really enhance the experience :)

We had a wonderful stay. The place was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The view was beautiful, and there were lots of great activities for the kids. Perfect for a relaxing family getaway—we’d definitely come back!

Stayed for two nights. The view was nice and the service was okay, but the cleanliness was disappointing. The room and kitchen cabinets were dirty, and the bedsheets had small bugs, which made us uncomfortable. The washroom was also very dimly lit. Unfortunately, these issues affected our overall experience.

Chalets Grand Pre Cottages is a charming accommodation run by friendly and accommodating owners. The cottages are well-maintained, with fully equipped kitchens and comfortable beds. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and spaciousness of the accommodations. The property also features amenities such as a heated salt-water pool, making it an ideal place for a relaxing vacation. Friendly owner, clean house, photos match the reviews. There are towels, a lot of dishes for cooking, a dishwasher, a coffee maker and filters, air conditioning, an iron, a barbecue, clean linen, and soft beds. There was even salt and pepper! There was not enough shower gel and shampoo. We bought this in Charlottetown. Overall, I liked it, the location is convenient, there is a swimming pool, but it is cold, a small old playground, a laundromat. I recommend

We loved our stay here!! It was just a one night stop as we are traveling but it was a wonderful reprieve between our long days. We were all commenting on how much we wished that we could stay for a week! The pool was wonderful too. The host is very sweet too 🙂

Beautiful property with wonderful cottages. We did not want for anything in the kitchenette, they thought of everything. Accommodations are very clean and the reception upon arrival was above and beyond friendly and welcoming. Just perfect. Do not hesitate to book here.

The location is great. It is out of the way but stil close to everything (all major attractions are within a 12 min drive). The service from staff is excellent! Very helpful and kind. We did stay in one of the Executive Suites. We lived the toung and groove walls but the rest of the building (especially the decks) where in disrepair. It does look like some work has been done and it looks like the repairs are ongoing. The suite does have everything you need and everything is functionable. WiFi is a bit spotty up at the suite. I truly think with a bit more up-keep and renos and this could be a fantastic place to stay. The pool was very nice. Oh! There are real cows in a field right behind the suite. We got to pet them. That was neat!

Very lovely cottages run by some very lovely people! I stayed here for a couple nights with 3 of my friends and I think it was the perfect cottage. The owners are very kind and accommodating. They answered all of our emails super quickly and they were always smiling and waving if we passed them. The cottage itself was also so cute and a great size! There’s plenty of utensils and cutlery if you want to cook and the beds are super comfy!!! I have no complaints and I would highly recommend!
Kendra R — Google review
Me and my family stayed here July 21-25, 2021. The cabins were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The BBQ and kitchen appliances/utensils NEED upgrading. They also advertise the cabin sleeps 6 (pull out couch) but the couch is very dated and mattress so old the bar underneath can be felt through. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is very clean and well kept! The playground is an old aluminum swim set and the slide has rotted boards when you reach the top platform. I find it a little over priced however it is in a very convenient location, you are only 20/25 minutes away from Charlottetown or Summerside and about 10 minutes away from Cavendish. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well.
Ashley H — Google review
Have stayed at these cabins several times and always enjoyed; found cabins clean and comfortable and owners friendly and accommodating with good pricing. Slightly disappointed with this trip as I found the cabin not as clean as previous years. Fans had thick dust, bed headboards were dusty, cupboards could use a wipe inside and found the bathroom sink had old toothpaste splatter still present. Some of the picnic tables also appear rotten and others in need of TLC with some new boards. I would suggest replacing simple things like brooms, dust pan, toilet bowl brush, dish rack and fly swatter as these can be purchased at the dollar store. The ones in our cabin were in desperate need of being replaced and looked quite unappealing. Also, the flies…My god the house flies! Have never seen so many and no idea how they were getting in. Some guests would likely appreciate some of those fly hanging sticky stripes although unappealing to look at they can be quite helpful. Even the children said they were unable to sleep in because of them landing on them in bed. One fire pit a distance from all the cabins. Nice bunches surrounding however the fire pit is an actual pit in the ground so you must pay close attention if small children are around that they stay far enough away All that being said there were still lots of great points: Hosts are friendly and accommodating The linens appear very clean and fresh Beds are nicely made TV/cable work well Wifi worked well Inside of Fridge and freezer were very clean Air conditioner was a huge bonus and worked well Pool is wonderful, clean and large enough to accommodate several families Kids all enjoyed the playground On-site laundry although we didn’t use it’s always nice to know it’s available Adequate lawn furniture and pool chairs

Nestled in Fergusons Cove, just 20 minutes outside Halifax, Star of the Sea Bed & Breakfast is a charming 19th-century retreat offering stylish rooms and suites. The property, housed in the historic Stella Maris Chapel dating back to 1864, boasts breathtaking ocean views from its deck and heated pool. With a maximum capacity of 50 guests, this LGBT-friendly B&B provides a cozy and serene escape overlooking Halifax Harbour and McNabs Island.
Simply AMAZING - the views of ocean & relaxation factor could not get any better. Calming atmoshpere from minute you entered. Only three suites allows you to feel as if you have place to yourself. Views from two decks, with outdoor furniture, are simply breathtaking as you felt the ocean breezes. Sailboats & cruise ships were seen daily. Spacious rooms; large comfortable bed, with sitting areas + breakfast bar. Bathrobes & pool towels provided . Delicious homemade breakfasts delivered to your room were wonderful to wake up to. Hosts, Eva & Tom, were gracious; very helpful in suggestions of what to experience-- Wine country, Bay of Fundy, Halifax etc.. Every detail in comfort & decor were well thought out & waiting for your visit. We travel to boutique B&Bs a lot; this is a hidden gem. The beauty & relaxation of Star of the Sea B&B is 10 Stars. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Called to speak to the establishment's management/owners before an upcoming trip 9/21/2025, spoke to Eva who became frustrated with my questions about the establishment when I asked what to expect before our arrival. She told me, "look at our website, my response, "i'm asking questions based on your website and reviews". Conversation did not go well, needless to say, I am thankful for the call before a bad experience.

We had an absolutely lovely time at Star of the Sea. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed. The view was spectacular. We enjoyed wine on the upstairs patio each afternoon which was so relaxing. Eva’s breakfasts were delicious! Thank you, Tom and Eva, for a wonderful stay! Jim and Donna

Amazing place to stay, highly recommend! The views and room itself set the vibe for our trip. We were able to have an ocean view breakfast each morning (the breakfasts that the hosts make were unbelievable). It is so charming, modern, yet holds history in the building. The hosts are very friendly. It’s only a 20 ish minute drive from downtown Halifax. Would absolutely stay here again!

My mom and I just returned from a three night stay at Star of the Sea, and we are already dreaming of returning! From reading a book on the gorgeous balcony overlooking the ocean to enjoying a delicious meal in our beautiful room while watching the many birds flying around, we had the most wonderful and relaxing time! Eva and Tom are kind and fantastic hosts, the breakfasts were delicious, and the room (we stayed in the McNab Room) was spacious and incredibly comfortable. Thank you for such a wonderful vacation, and we can’t wait to come back!

Star of the Sea B&B is a dreamer's retreat, beautifully designed and wonderfully cozy. Eva & Tom are amazing hosts who have put a lot of work into their business. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in the "Northwest Arm" suite, with the MOST comfortable king bed ever. Gorgeous views of the ocean from our little reading nook. The guest areas include an upper patio, and a heated pool. We tried as many of the breakfasts as we could (yogurt parfait, German breakfast, waffles, over easy eggs & bacon) and ALL were delicious. The location is a bit of a drive (about 20 min) to downtown Halifax, but we chose this place for that reason. It is an idyllic retreat away from the loud hustle & bustle of the city. We hope to be back again in the future.

Cottage
Forest & Lake PEI Cottages and Bed & Breakfast is a charming accommodation located in Montague, offering cozy cottages and comfortable rooms. The hosts, Tanja and Karl, are known for their warm hospitality and attentiveness to guests' needs. Families with young children appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and proximity to the nearby children's provincial park 'King's Castle.' Guests can enjoy various activities such as pedalo and kayaking on the lake, board games, and even a relaxing spa.
Amazing location in the east part of Prince Edward Island. Just 20 minutes drive from Wood Island ferry terminal and 95 minutes from Borden-Carleton, the first village after crossing the Confederation bridge. The Trans-Canada Confederation trail route is right next to the house. They also offer free kayaks, canoes and pedal boats with life jackets to navigate the lake near the house, which is narrow and circa one kilometer long. There is free outdoor parking and the house is modern, with good facilities and is very clean. We stayed four nights in the spacious Romance room, with a very comfortable bed, good air conditioning, attractive decoration and no noise even though the house had several guests at the same time. There is free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with access to Prime and Netflix. It also has a spa, 24/7 coffee and tea, and the home-made breakfasts are delicious. The owners offer great value to any newcomer as they give free and detailed information on local attractions, including the best restaurants to visit.

It's a truly exceptional bed and breakfast. The stunning location offers a breathtaking experience and the friendly owners made me feel instantly welcomed. The WOW homebaked breakfast was a highlight with delicious treats. Tanja and Karl were incredibly helpful providing valuable insights into local attractions. After a day of exploring, I enjoyed a relaxing spa experience to unwind. Forest & Lake is a must-visit! I heartily recommend it.

We stayed in the “Fox” room. It was nothing like the photos of the other rooms in the B&B. Worst of all, the sheets smelled unclean and sweaty, and there were balls of dirt between the sheets! There was barely room to walk around the bed and nowhere to place a suitcase. The room seemed like an afterthought to the B&B and was decorated more like a cabin room. The private bathroom was across the hall and the office was next to the bathroom. It was a high traffic area for the staff. While we had breakfast we mentioned that we would not be staying a second night. After that the friendly was turned off and we had a cold reception. We would not recommend this place and would not stay again.

The Stay We stayed 2 nights as this wonderful B&B. The room was emaculate not a dust in sight! The sheets were so soft and comfortable and the mattress was just right to get you a good night sleep. Tv has Netflix as well as cable. The room had a mini refrigerator and coffee machine with cups available. Towels and basic soaps/ shampoos available. Great amount of storage for luggage. Service The two host Tanja and Karl were wonderful people we enjoyed our breakfasts while we talked about adventures and life stories. Great conversation and great company. Breakfast was an extra $8 per meal and the food was very nice and thoughtfully put together. It changed every morning and you get a choice of two options. They have homemade jams available for anyone to enjoys a toast in the morning and multiple options for drinks including tea, assorted types of coffees, juice and water. Communication was good and they were always kind. Extra amenities 2 Kayak, 2 person peddle boat, Canoe, large 8 person hot tub/ relaxation area all free of charge. Fishing is an extra charge of $10 (we fish so we understand equipment cost etc. so makes total sense). There was a dock so it was easy to get on the water. Life jackets, sunscreen and bug stray available for your convenience too. The waters definitely had fish if that’s what you enjoy wearing saw them jump up as we paddled throughout. Ice machine, water station and coffee machines were available. Lots of areas to sit and enjoy nature outside They’re very organized people so it was easy to understand the hours of operation for common areas. Coin laundry was easy to operate and made it easy for those that plan on staying longer on the road. Other than the extra amenities provided we were a good distance from many spots worth checking out. Deep sea fishing with tranquility cove. Parks and light houses nearby. Convenient location without the hustle of a busier town. All in all I would highly recommend this location for a stay. I would come back with a few people if I were ever in PEI again. I enjoyed my stay a lot.

This BnB is far from excellent - it is outstanding and more!! The location is down a quiet road and as you turn into the well groomed property you come upon the house with its lovely cottages set on the side.. They have a lovely 1KM lake and provide a pedal boat and kayaks plus life jackets - how can you ask for more?! Inside the guest house: the rooms are all immaculate / beds comfortable/ tv and internet accessible - cosy, etc.. just wow! The host and hostess - Tanya and Karl are wonderful, inviting, welcoming, friendly and willing to share the places to visit.. PLUS they make delicious breakfasts and, for me - one hot cappuccino:-) Thanks so much for our night(s) stay.. we highly recommend and we promise to be back and share with friends and family your amazing hospitality!!

The breakfast is super yummy (different every day). Make sure to make use of the hot tub! It's located in a rotunda that's very inviting to hang out in itself. There is a coffee/water/ice station downstairs and a fridge in the room. Oh, and free kayaks/canoe to use on the small lake on the property! All in all one of the best B&B experiences I ever had. Hoping to be back soon!

Beautiful, cozy cottages in picturesque woodland surroundings equipped with kitchenettes and a bbq. Close to awesome beaches and parks. A nice lake on the property to enjoy. The proprietors are the nicest, most welcoming people! If ordered the day before, a made-from-scratch breakfast is available which is 10 out of 10. Modest prices. Highly recommended!

There was 2 of us and we stayed at what I believe was called the loft! Didn’t love hauling our suitcases up the stairs, however it was worth it!!! The check-in process was easy, the entire place was super clean, a binder contained all questions we had and the beds were super comfortable!. The location is super close to the golf course and local amenities. Would recommend staying here for sure! Thanks for having us

Smooth check in and check out process. The room had everything we needed. We stayed at the loft flat which is pretty spacious for two of us. Our pup liked the direct access to grass downstairs. The view from the backyard is stunning. We happen to catch the sunset on our last night here. Close proximity to Inverness - quick 3 min drive got us to the grocery store and restaurants. Will def recommend to friends and family for their golf trips.

Cape Breton Villas is the perfect combination of accommodations and location. They communicate very well and the lodging was perfect. The bonuses were the sunset and peaceful area. Highly recommend.
