White Point Beach Resort is a charming and relaxed retreat located just two hours south of Halifax. The resort offers a range of accommodations including cozy hotel rooms, cottages, and lodges. Guests can enjoy the private sandy beach, indoor heated pool, spa facilities, and a nine-hole golf course. With its rich history as a hunting and fishing lodge turned modern oceanfront beach resort, White Point Beach Resort guarantees a luxurious vacation experience in Nova Scotia.
This was our first time at White Point Beach Resort, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The beach is beautiful and the staff were l friendly. There are a lot of kids, but the pool becomes adult only later in the evening which is a nice option for a peaceful swim, and the pool staff were fantastic. The food was excellent. We had the fish and chips and were very impressed by the portion size. We stayed in an ocean view room which had a cozy, camping-like feel since you walk to the main lodge. If you are traveling with a senior or someone with mobility issues, I would suggest booking a room in the main lodge instead. The bunnies all over the property were a highlight of the trip, such a unique and charming detail and so cute!

Great honeymoon weekend with the wife. Our second visit here. We got the romance package and stayed in a glome. Loved the chocolate covered stawberrys and Nova 7 wine. Just a short peacefull walk away from the main house where we ate. We had 2 suppers and 2 breakfast. The supper is amazing. I had the beef shortribs both night and the wife had the mushroom afredo. Very good. Shout out to James, our waiter. He made us feel very welcome and had some laughs. The beach was beautiful and we couldnt have asked for a better weekend. I hope to get a tree house next time. If you are thinking about staying here, do it! It has so much character and is a magical getaway. Until next time WP. Love Justin&Chels

We stayed in the Ocean Front King Cottage, 1 of 2 newer cottages @ the resort, in September. We absolutely loved our experience! We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary, & spent 2 nights.... wish we had booked more!!! All staff encountered (especially Housekeeping) were wonderful... friendly, helpful, and accommodating!!! Thank you!! The cottage was beautiful, the Beach was amazing!!! I still hear the sounds of the "ocean" waves crashing on the shore!!! We dined @ Elliott's & the beef short rib was amazing!!! Outdoors, there are bunnies everywhere!!! We would definitely recommend for families, especially with the programming available. Thank you for such a wonderful memory!!!

White Point Beach Resort is one of my favourite places to visit. This was my second trip there. Located by the beach and surrounded by water, the resort is beautifully spread out and offers an amazing atmosphere. With numerous in-house amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, golf course, and spaces for pickleball and volleyball, it truly stands out as a top choice for a getaway. It’s the perfect spot for a group trip or a relaxing night out. The restaurant and bar are excellent, offering great food and service. The only downside, in my opinion, is their very specific and early restaurant and breakfast timings. Otherwise, White Point Beach Resort is definitely a place worth visiting.

It's gorgeous. The "lakeside" glomes (really lake side with ocean views!) are comfortable, private, and luxurious. A private hot tub?! Perfect. Really a wonderful stay start to finish. We were there in the late Fall (Halloween) and it was a perfect time to enjoy a quiet private getaway. Relaxing. Romantic. Even the rain and the wind made it feel cozier.

Always a pleasure at white point beach resort. Food is always delicious, friendly staff and great atmosphere. On the other hand the cottages definitely needs a makeover. its time to start replacing some of them. first night we had a mouse in our cottage running around, went to the front desk and they immediately gived us a second one to also found a mice nest in the bedroom. it also had a strange skinky smell probably caused by the rodents. Went to the front desk again at 10:30 pm and got us a 3rd cottage that finally was Ok. So basically lost a wonderful night moving from cottage to cottage. In the end the staff was very frendly and helped us with moving all of our stuff. we we're reimbursed that night but we lost half of our vacation:(

We had such a wonderful time at White Point this summer! It was our first trip there with our baby girl, and she absolutely loved every minute, from splashing in the pool to watching the waves by the ocean. It was such a special getaway and the perfect mix of relaxation and family fun.

This was our second time staying at White Point and it was even better than the first! The staff was so incredibly helpful with accommodating my peanut allergy at the 2 restaurants inside - and even outside of that, the staff were always so kind and friendly. We'll certainly be back next year :)

Nestled on the shores of Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia, Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre offers a luxurious seaside retreat with stunning Atlantic views. The resort features upscale accommodations including guestrooms, chalets, and villas. Guests can enjoy various amenities such as multiple pools, a fitness center, and a spa.
Oak Island was the perfect spot to get married. The planning and catering team was fantastic and very organized. The food was amazing. The front desk staff (and all the staff honestly) were super friendly. The venue itself is newly renovated and stunning. There is not one negative thing we could say about it. Thank you for hosting our special day.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Oak Island marina over the weekend. So many things for kids to do including swimming, paddling, and nature walks. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and the amenities available for those staying at the marina are truly unmatched in the province. We can't wait to go back!

I am not fancy, so I don't need any service besides the front desk to check in and out. The restaurant is delicious, but so over priced. Find something local to eat instead. The rooms are modest, basic, relatively clean from what I've seen. The water pressure is horrible though. The shower is like a trickle. Beds are a bit weird, no fitted sheets just some kind of pad on the mattress and a super thin flat sheet. Beds are firm, which I like, but others might find it to hard. The pillows are not great for side sleepers, which I am, so the nights are adequate but not awesome. Location is cute and quaint. Very much a typical Nova Scotia experience. Parking is fine, I've never lacked space. They still have basic cable in the rooms. Provide bar soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, shaving cream and make up remover. Hairdryer and towels in the bathroom. No tubs, only walk in shower. The place is dated but we'll maintained. The only thing I'd wish they would update are the carpets. Carpets in general are disgusting, no amount of vacuuming is going to get them clean. They should change these to laminate like motel 6. Far cleaner and easier to clean.

Stayed in the 4 bedroom cottage. Everything that's needed for a normal day is there. Toaster, over, full sized fridge, 2 A/C units, and plenty of space for 5 kids and 6 adults. Has a very nice deck with BBQ and a fire pit area with an awesome view of the coast. Me and my wife will be coming back without the kiddos to enjoy the area some more.
Mike L — Google review
This has been a terrible experience. We came for a family vacation with our two children and the music at night was so loud no one could sleep. When we asked for a quieter room the room we were offered was one that smelled strongly of smoke. The hot tub was dirty. There was excrement/feces (human? animal?) on the hot tub/pool deck. We stayed 4 nights and it was never cleaned off. We are often in the area visiting family but we will not come back here again. We are extremely disappointed.
Vanessa S — Google review
We were made to feel special just for being there. From the wait staff in the restaurant to the front desk and everyone we came in contact during our three day visit, we were treated like royalty. Access to the game rooms, exercise room and pool area left us wanting to stay longer. Love, love, love you guys.
MaryAnne W — Google review
The room I was staying in was amazing. The food was great too. The indoor pool was slimy and nasty though. The walls of it were covered in this black tar that looks to be rubbing off in the water. Almost looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
Braedon H — Google review
Three stars due to pricing on the drinks at the bar at 17$ each. Steep pricing. But room was great & hotel clean. Hot tub could not see the bottom very dirty.

Nestled on Nova Scotia's North Shore, Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is a charming retreat offering sophisticated accommodations, including cozy cottages. The Norman chateau-style hotel provides old-school comfort amidst beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking the Annapolis Basin. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the immaculately groomed 18-hole championship golf course, while others can indulge in the outdoor heated pool and Aveda concept salon and spa.
I had a wonderful stay! The beds were comfortable, the room was spotless and the free breakfast was buffet was wonderful. The pool was great, the gardens beautiful and although we were unable to hike the trails because of the forest fires there was a beautiful park to sit in and a path to walk for exercise. The building itself is beautiful. The staff was wonderful and also helped me to find my keys. Thank you so much!
Karen M — Google review
We were able to book a room last minute as we came off the ferry and decided we would like to stay the evening in Digby. The service was great throughout the entire experience. Our meals were fantastic, breakfast was very good and included with our room. The quality of our room was good, the bed was comfy and we had a beautiful view. My only wish is that the bathrooms were updated, the space is small and difficult to utilize. Overall we had a positive experience!
Mikayla S — Google review
The building itself is impressive. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. The room was a huge disappointment. The bathroom desperately needed maintenance and updating. It actually was kind of creepy to use, with discolored grout in the shower and a hole in the corner of the wall. We live in an historic house and know you can update while keeping the integrity of the architectural style. The elevator was out of order the entire time were there. On the plus side the air/heat unit in the room was updated, worked well and was quiet. The pool was quiet, warm and wonderful. The fitness room was well equipped. The breakfast was very good with fresh made to order omelets.

This is an old CP hotel that still stands the test of time. The views and location are spectacular!!! The restaurant is great....good breakfast for sure. The rooms may seem a bit dated but due to the original design there is only so much you can do, and that is part of the charm. Be sure and take drinks in the lobby bar....you may get an Overlook Hotel from The Shining feel, the room has all the touches of that bygone charm. The cottages are a great golf trip destination too.....

I got my reservation date mixed up. The hotel called me the night we were supposed to be there and rebooked us for the next night without charging us for the missed night! Wonderful! I don’t know how many hotels would do that…I was so thankful! The accommodations were wonderful! They have an outdoor heated pool with a sauna which was great for a cool evening. The staff was awesome! Very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend Digby Pines.
Roberta D — Google review
I stayed at Digby Pines for our anniversary & did they ever make us feel special! We were treated like royalty and were shown really special gestures on arrival to celebrate our special day. The front desk really went above and beyond to make our first stay a memorable one, and we are so grateful. Any cons mentioned were really overshadowed by the attentive staff and beautiful location. Will DEFINITELY stay again. Pros: Really comfortable bed & pillows. Starbucks coffee & real creamer in rooms. Free breakfast buffet with EXCELLENT selection of items. Nice bathroom toiletries provided. Great location, beautiful grounds & close to town. Wonderful staff. Cons: Loud comforter (crinkly material). Older bathroom/rooms not pictured on website. Pool is outdoors and was freezing during our stay. Restaurant was a bit pricy, room service menu is limited and expensive.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Enjoyed a 3 day stay and found the staff to be tremendously accommodating. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinners of seafood were outstanding. The building is beautiful, perhaps a bit of faded elegance but a beautiful place to stay none the less. Our room was very nice with a fantastic view, however we were located near the elevator and given the age of the building and the elevator itself we experienced the associated noise....next time same room type further down the hall would be great. Golf course was fun to play, albeit due to a record drought this year the course suffered.....that said the greens and aprons were obviously the focus of the staff and made for rewarding finishes at the end of each hole. Overall, a great stay!! If driving as we did, I would also recommend taking the ferry from St. John to Digby (or vice versa) as part of the experience....ferry pier is less than 2 kilometres from the hotel.
Keith M — Google review
We are rating the rooms and service a one star for 7 reasons: 1. Despite that the elevator has been out of service for about a month - no one bothered to share this extremely important detail with when we booked a stay prior to our arrival as there were multiple flights to get to our room, and double that to get the the dining room from our floor. 2. No working elevator is a massive safety issue as well. 3. There is no signage anywhere outside to indicate where the front desk is, so we drove back and forth many times trying to find it. 4. There is a signficant amount of stairs to climb to enter the building where the front desk is located. Nowhere on the web site does it indicate any of these signficant to any senior issues regarding stairs. 5. As to the room - it was small, the shower was mediocre at best - once we had hot water the next day. 6. Our room was directly above the lounge (where we were greatly disturbed by hearing very word to every country & western song being performed and sung to and by the lounge customers - and that went on for a few hours). We should have been informed of this as well before being placed there - as we would have refused a room above that kind of racket. 7. The day we checked in about 5:45 pm, we had no hot water, and despite informing the front desk, had none until the next day - beyond belief for a hotel that is supposed to be a 4 star!!! Dining experiences were great, staff everywhere were great - always apologizing and trying to help, and the location is great. But don't go there expecting a 4 star resort, it is more along the lines of a 1.5 or 2 star.

Oceanstone Resort & Hydrothermal Nordic Spa with Fitness Centre is an upscale oceanfront property offering plush rooms and cottages, perfect for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The resort provides private cottages, guestrooms, and suites equipped with fully equipped kitchens and barbecues. Guests can also order locally sourced barbecue kits or gourmet meals from the main lodge.
Our five-night stay at Crows Nest Cottage exceeded our expectations . The cottage itself is a charming, quintessential beach house that offers a perfect blend of comfort and coziness. With its light-filled rooms, breezy atmosphere, and beach themed decor, it provided a most comfortable retreat. The sound of gentle waves lapping the shoreline just a short dune walk behind the cottage added to the serenity of our evenings & mornings. We definitely looked forward to beginning our mornings with the sumptuous complimentary breakfast served in the main lodge. The attentive staff served eggs made to order alongside an assortment of fresh fruit, croissants, meats, and other delightful goodies—an ideal way to fuel our days of relaxing exploration. Our experience at the Nordic Spa was remarkable and unforgettable . We began our “spa day” with a couples massage which was the perfect introduction to the day’s relaxing activities. The spa’s unique blend ( in an exquisite garden setting) of heat treatments, cold plunge, and restful breaks created a holistic cycle that invigorated our bodies, cleared the mind, and uplifted our spirits. The knowledgeable and friendly attendants made the experience even more special, ensuring we felt comfortable and cared for at every step. Complementing our entire Oceanstone experience were the ocean views and gorgeous sunsets from our cottage , which provided the perfect backdrop for unwinding after a days adventures . My wife and I enjoyed walking the pristine beach in front of the cottage, searching for tiny treasures of sea glass & shells which immensely added to the joy of our stay. Overall, Oceanstone Resort and Nordic Spa offered an all-encompassing retreat that nurtured our mind, body, and spirit. The warm hospitality of the staff truly made us feel like valued guests, and we left feeling inspired, and eager to return next year . For anyone seeking a restorative, beautiful, and inspiring getaway, I highly recommend Oceanstone for a complete experience of tranquility and renewal.

First stay at resort. Beautiful location, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Room - we had Rhubarb room #2 which is over the kitchen end of the restaurant so we knew when booking that it would be noisier so just be aware that it is - the hours of operation are 11:30 to 8 however they need to prep in the morning so they are there early at 6:30-7 am so no sleeping in unless you have ear plugs this is not a criticism just an awareness. We were good with it as we got up early to get about our day. The view from the deck on our room was spectacular and a great place to sit as long as the weather is good. Bed was comfortable, room is small but again that is ok. The room does not have a chair to sit in which I did make the suggestion to add even a couple of good folding chairs in the closet that could be used. The shower was heavily impacted by the kitchen as well which I also let the resort know about. Overall the room was fine it could just be better with a couple of little tweaks. The common areas are lovely and allow you to enjoy different areas of the resort. The breakfast is bar none the best included breakfast we have had. It is a buffet style, but they take the extra step to make your eggs and bagels fresh to order. The breakfast staff were very welcoming. We would recommend a stay at this resort and we will return.

We were here for a family function and stayed two nights. Location is beautiful minutes away from Peggy’s Cove and the lighthouse. The resort is in a beautiful setting and our cousins had a private cottage on the water with an amazing view. We all gathered there at night for both nights and had an amazing time now we know what it’s like to have an Oceanside cottage. Our accommodations were up the hill on top of the restaurant, and we’re not quite as nice. When making a reservation, make sure you inquire as to what the room is like. They included breakfast was amazing. Cooked order waffles and eggs were great, especially the scrambled eggs. Note that if you want to do the sauna and Jacuzzi in the outdoor area, at the time I write this, it was an $85 per person extra charge.

Great spa located no to to far out of Halifax. It's definitely worth the drive. Very clean and comfortable. All the The amenities were wonderful and we took full advantage of them all on our 2 hr stay. Make sure you check out the ocean view as well.

Staying in Rhubarb room #1 currently, and due to the connected deck another guest came by and peered at me while changing into a dress— seeing me basically naked. The man put his face right up to the glass and peered into my room. I felt completely violated and unsafe. I want to emphasize that staff in the main lodge were incredibly compassionate and understanding, I believe her name was Jen. She worked very hard to find us an alternative room, and she offered us a room without a balcony when one came up. I just want to vouch for how nice and supportive the staff were about this incident which was entirely out of their control. They even offered to waive any fee to switch rooms on short notice. However I still feel it’s necessary to put this out publicly that women, children and other vulnerable individuals should keep the blinds drawn if you’re staying above Rhubarb. Do not expect other guests to respect your privacy and remain in their respective area on the deck balcony.

Been here for the day spa. It was exactly what I needed, super relaxing experience. Great hydrotherapy circuit. The food was also delicious. The location is was unbelievably gorgeous. Haven’t stayed here but would definitely come back to check it out.

The Ocean Vista was a large and comfortable private room, at the top of small building. A good sized kitchenette with the pots, pans and utensils for practical use. The rooms are cleaned and reset daily, a surprise to us because we were only staying for 2 nights. All staff were stellar, we will definitely return on future trips!

Oceanstone is a lovely retreat at the seaside. We found it refreshingly lowkey and restorative. The Nordic circuit is nice, as is the spa and gym. Jumping in the ocean is *very refreshing*. Overall, great experience — will come back. Extra shout out: the resort is run by an army of very young people who did an amazing job of taking care of us, the rooms, and grounds. I’ve never encountered a group of young adults so capable.

Trout Point Lodge is an upscale retreat nestled in a remote reserve, offering luxurious suites and cottages for guests. The lodge provides a range of outdoor activities such as kayaking and fishing, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. The dining experience at Trout Point Lodge is exceptional, with two fine-dining restaurants that prioritize regional products, seafood, organic ingredients, and wild woodland delicacies.
Hospitality. Cuisine. Serenity. My wife and I chose Trout Point Lodge for our annual getaway, and it exceeded all our expectations. Nestled in its own little oasis, the lodge offers a perfect blend of warm hospitality, delicious food, and tranquil surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like friends, taking good care of our needs with genuine care. Some standout moments included stargazing under a breathtaking night sky after a very nice dinner—something we’d never experienced before. The guided explanation of the constellations added a fascinating touch. Another highlight was the very peaceful forest walk - where we had the chance to recalibrated ourselves, followed by unwinding in the outdoor hot tub and sauna. When you combine all of this into one weekend, it becomes an truly unforgettable experience. We have absolutely no complaints. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you, Team Trout Point, for creating such a magical experience!

We have gone to the Lodge twice. The first time was great, the second time post pandemic was not so great. Bugs in the room, too warm and too pricey. We felt stuck due to the heavy rains and inability to hike. I think it will be hard for them to stay in business with climate change. Won't be visiting again.

A relaxing, first-class, intimate scale nature retreat with top-notch warm and attentive service, wonderful dining and a gorgeous lodge-in-the-woods-by-the-river setting. Enjoyed cocktails by the fire, nicely imagined and executed fine dining and miles (or kilometers) of secluded hiking and a renewed appreciation for nature. Plus a relaxing hot tub and spa above the river. A perfect weekend escape.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Trout Point Lodge recently, and had an absolutely magical and relaxing time!! From the moment we stepped inside, we were charmed! It was exactly what we were hoping for - the coziness of a rustic lodge with the luxury of a high end resort. We were able to detach and enjoy the quiet of a Canadian backcountry, but be spoiled with amazing food, activities and services when we want to connect. We tried new experiences like Forest Bathing which was grounding and very healing for me, a wooden hot tub overlooking the Tusket river with a Finnish sauna nearby, and amazing Star Gazing where we saw Saturn, Jupiter, Polaris the North Star, a shooting star (!), the Milky Way, Cassiopea and so many other constellations! I am an avid traveller and have stayed in many many different places and I can absolutely say that Trout Point Lodge stood out as a unique and special place that I will not easily forget. Can't recommend this truly outstanding place enough

We didn't have the best experience. End of season was obvious and service was less than expected. There is a weird 'don't lock your room door' policy. You should not LOCK your door when you are not in your room. We had a random stranger walk right in while lying in bed. Food was good but not amazing. Again, the hype of this lodge was not met. For the cost per night, I would not go back

My wife and I had such an incredible honeymoon at Trout Point Lodge! Staff were beyond accommodating and made us feel so comfortable at all times. We took part in so many activities while we were there including stargazing, forest bathing, hiking, kayaking, hot tub and sauna, cold river plunge, massages, and yoga. Our room was immaculate and luxurious but still rustic which we loved. The food is to die for, every meal was such a fun experience! We enjoyed all the hot beverages available as well as going to the lodge for tea time snacks. The cocktails were delicious and I enjoyed some bottles of local Rummed Cider. The staff were really a highlight for us, such a fantastic team! We can't wait to come back

We spent 3 nights at the Trout Point Lodge in early October to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and had an extraordinary visit. As we drove up the long, bucolic dirt road leading to the lodge, we sensed that we were going to have a very special experience. After being greeted with a glass of wine and a run-down of the many amenities, Cheryl kindly suggested that we take a dip in the hot tub which we ended up doing each day in the late afternoon. How lovely to soak and relax next to the flowing river and fall foliage! The dinners (and breakfasts) were all outstanding as was the service. Since we were fortunate to have beautiful, mild weather, we were able to dine out on the patio and afterwards enjoy the cozy bonfire which Chris consistently kept tending to. We took advantage of the nicely maintained forest trails, the kayaking and the observation deck where the night sky was just amazing! We also enjoyed some great live music one night while sipping on cocktails which the staff perfectly crafted. We stayed in the Napier room on the bottom floor of the lodge which was absolutely lovely with a sitting area, large comfortable king-sized bed and a modern bathroom with an inviting soaking tub. There were Adirondack chairs outside our room which faced the front of the lodge, but we preferred relaxing in the little areas tucked away on the property which overlooked the water and unbelievable fall foliage. We had to check-out very early in order to catch a morning ferry, and the lodge provided us with a wonderful breakfast to-go. We highly recommend the Trout Point Lodge for a special experience where you can unplug and connect with the beauties of the Nova Scotia wilderness.

What a truly wonderful, wonderful place. If you’re looking for a place to unplug and relax you have found it. I had the pleasure to stay for 2 nights (we chose the 2 night getaway package) last summer and I can’t say enough good things about this oasis in the woods. We were greeted so warmly and offered wine when we first arrived and a tour of the grounds. Our room was so sweet with a small fireplace. We had a delicious breakfast both mornings and a 4 course dinner each night, once in the dining room and once outside. The entire meal was incredible and the service was excellent. We chose to do the star gazing tour one night and it was truly magical to look up and see all of the stars in the complete darkness and the guide was very knowledgeable. We also did kayaking and enjoyed the wood fired hot tub. One evening there was live music on the patio that we enjoyed with one of the delicious drinks made by the bartender in the great room. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer. I can only hope I’ll be lucky enough to visit again!

Nature & Parks
Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a vast park known for its stunning mountain and ocean views, particularly along the famous Cabot Trail. The park offers various activities and sightseeing opportunities, including the chance to enjoy a lobster feast at La Bloc beach while taking in picturesque vistas of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Driving through the park on the Cabot Trail is considered one of the world's top road trips, offering panoramic views between Cheticamp and Pleasant Bay.
This national park will remain in my memory for a long time. The ocean views, mountains, and forest landscapes here are simply unforgettable. I visited in the summer and booked a cabin—staying and camping here was definitely a wise choice. The scenery is captivating enough to enjoy for two to three days without feeling bored. The most efficient way to explore is by driving along the NS-30, which is also called Cabot Trail, stopping at spots you find interesting to take in the views. If your campsite is on the west side of the park, the town of Cheticamp has all the facilities you might need, including car washes, gas stations, and laundry services.

So much to do in this park. It's just beautiful. Definitely give yourself a few days to travel around if you have the time, if not go back a few times if you are able to actually enjoy everything the park has to offer. There are many many hiking and walking trails, at all different levels of difficulty. So there is something for everyone. The Skyline trail was one of the most beautiful views that takes a little time to walk to. There are many different fresh water and salt water beaches. Lots of wildlife, so be mindful on the road. I've seen far too many cars just speeding through. One of my favorite national parks in Nova Scotia. Enjoy and leave nothing but foot prints and take nothing but pictures 😊

We did the Cabot trail through this park and it was the most AMAZING experience! I'd do it again and again if it wasn't so long! Definitely give yourself a couple days ( or more) to REALLY enjoy the trail (if that's what you're doing). The road through the park is hilly and the mountain views as well as ocean views are stunning. Hopefully you don't visit on a foggy day like we did! Enjoy

Very beautiful park, it is a must when you visit Nova Scotia. The roads are well maintained and the scenery is gorgeous. Don’t just drive through the park though, explore the trails like the skyline trail and don’t hesitate to also go to meat cove, which is very underrated as a destination I believe!

Such an amazing park! The hiking trails are gorgeous and you can find hikes for all levels of experience. The Coastal Trail is stunning with its views of the cliffs and ocean. There is wildlife to consider so it's best to hike in the daytime which also helps with the mosquitos. Much of the park and Cape Breton Island is a dark sky paradise for anyone who would like to see the stars and Milky Way.

I visited here last summer, based on my friend’s advice, and I have to say I will advise all of you guys to come. This is an extremely beautiful place, especially in summer time. Nova Scotia is famous for its special seaside view, and here is the best place to feel. Imagine the rocky coast along the ocean, high mountains stand in water, curve highway run in between valleys, all of them can be found right here.
Hanhua G — Google review
Gorgeous national park with some of the best coastal views I've ever seen. Wildlife such as moose, seals, and gulls are plentiful and the famous Skyline Trail is one of the most breathtaking hikes I've ever completed.
Noah D — Google review
It’s a good scene route. I did clockwise drive & enjoyed it. Definitely worth the drive. Lots of hiking options and trails. Good for someone who like hiking and trails, definitely need few days to explore & bring mosquitoes repellent and find accommodation near by park. Make sure your Gas tank is full, sometime cape Breton is out of gas. Don’t forget your sun glasses, stay hydrated & enjoy the ride

Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site is a vast 164.5 square mile area in Nova Scotia, rich in Mi'kmaw heritage. It offers a variety of activities such as canoeing, hiking, and camping with its abundant lakes, rivers, and trails. The park is the only inland national park in the Maritimes and is known for its beautiful campground on the lake with modern facilities.
Best place to camp in Nova Scotia! Great sites, privacy good, clean comfort stations and trails. Security and noise levels are respected. And the park on the whole is a great escape!

Beautiful national park. Vast and full of natural wonder. Both sections are nice, seaside and the woodlands section. A great place for background camping and canooing. Lots of isolated campsites for those looking for peace and quite in nature. A must visit for nature lovers and paddling enthusiasts.
Joey V — Google review
Beautiful park but we found the campground with mostly tents very crowded and noisy. The facilities are quite new and there are dish washing sinks, which was much appreciated. We cycled through the park roads and on some easy trails. The RV sites appeared to have more privacy with larger lots and electrical hookups.
Steve G — Google review
The visitors center was very informative. The trails were well equipped with infor.ative boards, signs, and maps. There were very less crowds making for a calm and quiet place. We did 3 easy to moderate trails. The Mill Falls Trail, the Beach Grove trail, and the Flowing Waters Trail. All 3 trails were along the river. The staff in the park were very courteous.
Trip B — Google review
Stayed two nights ...its a beautiful park and very quiet while we were there. Enjoyed a few of the parks beautiful trails. Farm lands trail was wonderful and the huge White Pines amazing. The Mill falls us defiantly worth a look. The only improvements I would like to have seen are: - better maintenance of unpaved roads some pot holes were huge and made for a rough ride in places. - signage in this park is the worst I have seen in any national park I have visited.
Stephen P — Google review
Outstanding park for the whole family. We explored beaches, scenic lookouts, beautifully maintained hikes, most of them easy and appropriate for everyone, great food at the Lakeview cafe, kayaking and canoeing, and every single park employee we talked to was super friendly and eager to help make our visit the best. Don’t miss this jewel of western Nova Scotia. Oh! And big bonus: there are picnic tables throughout the park so bring a picnic!!

Nice park mainly a forest and a lake...main interest is about Mi'kmaq which I really appreciated... no special views on trails.. cafe was open with great choice of food! were supposed to camp 3 nights left after 2 noisy nights and no staff goes around...I've never had such a bad experience in a Canada park campground.... Distance is also to take under consideration you're at least 1h30 from any main towns

Beautiful national park. Remote as far as Nova Scotia goes but worth drive. We took advantage of a nice weekend in November. No one really around. All facilities were closed but we expected that. So lovely to see pristine wilderness and no litter. We will come back!!

Guests can enjoy swimming in the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait and savor seafood dining while watching stunning sunsets from their backyard. The one-bedroom cottages are highly recommended for a significant upgrade at a modest cost, offering thick timber walls, a kitchen, and living room.
This resort is beautiful. My family and I had an extended stay while we were waiting for our house to close. The views were great, and lots of entertainment for the family. During our stay hurricane irene swept through. We were received with multiple updates from the staff. When the power was out for an extended time at no fault to the resort, they provided options to accommodate us. Kate was amazing to work with. Not only will we be coming to stay again, I will also recommend this place over anything else in the area. Thank you all so much.

So this is the second time we've stayed at this place and again the room looks nice however again I found a empty alcohol can under the bed and a dirty subway napkin. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PLACE AGAIN. Very disappointed with this place. I will say the location is beautiful and the beds very soft but way over priced for what they offer. The room when checking in had an empty wine bottle in it. Also someone left a phone charger in the bedroom outlet. We had no housekeeping for the 2 days we stayed and we had to ask for more towels and toilet paper, which was left in a bag on the front porch. The dining was Very over rated. The breakfast was ok but cost us $63.00 for 3 people. The supper was Very outrageous in cost. My son ordered the lobster mac n' cheese and was forgotten about and when it finally arrived it had shells in it. The waitress only took off $4.00 from the bill which ended up costing $200. The "resort" would have been fine if it wasn't so expensive. We've stayed at hotels with much better service and cost significantly less. Very disappointed with this place and I will not recommend.

My group had an amazing weekend here! We came for a bachelorette party, and the team went out of their way to make the bride and her friends feel special. The beach was gorgeous, our chalets were immaculate, the lagoon was so fun to paddle around, the taproom at the Main Lodge was great, and the town was nearby. Everyone wants to come back!!

A perfect summer day driving into the resort. Immediately one felt a presence of warmth and calm. Check in was professional, informative and friendly. The dining room was open and beautiful views. Dinner began with a biscuit and molasses butter. Was unsure on the molasses butter, a treat indeed. Ordered the fish and was absolutely delicious. Loved my room with my own quaint little deck. Walking the grounds, right on the beach, was calming and relaxing. The staff were always ensuring the safety of guests, masks at all times(they weren’t mandatory at this point) and always made their guests comfortable. They have quaint local crafts and art, for sale In their lobby. Breakfast was delicious. Absolutely a perfect vacation spot for families, couples or that solo road trip where one just needs that time to refresh ones batteries. This is a get away that offers everything you may need, especially that rest we all desire. I’ll be back. Thank you to Wes and his great staff for creating a place of summer safety with fun, good food, great rest and a perfect summer get away.

Was here with my wife to visit a family member staying at the lodge. The place is really NICE! Beautiful views overlooking the ocean and night light filled with stars was breathtaking! Has spots for bonfires and outdoor seating options. Great place to enjoy nature's beauty! Rooms are all wood and log cabins (depending on the type of dwelling option you choose). Overall service could be better and a few more parking spots would be nice. All in all its a great get-away place in the beautiful Pictou County, NS. THANK YOU!

This is a beautiful location right on the water. The accommodations were very comfortable. It has a classic lodge feel; much of the architecture is log cabin build. The service was excellent and friendly. We had drinks and ate a delicious dinner at the bar. Great spot for a quiet walk on the beach and a peaceful waterside location. It is a very family-friendly location. The sunrise was amazing but early. We saw an eagle sitting at the water's edge.

Just a beautiful property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious with a nice sitting area. The best was the views, every turn off the head was more beautiful than the last. The restaurant food was out of this world and the bartender was great over on the bar side. I can't wait to come back.

A True Hidden Gem... Peaceful, Pristine, and Absolutely Stunning This was my second time staying at Four Seasons Retreat. My first visit was a girls’ trip back in 2022, and I loved it so much I brought my husband this week for a couple of quiet nights away. It’s hard to describe just how peaceful and tranquil this place is. The entire property is beautifully maintained, and the cottages are absolutely stunning... spotless, thoughtfully designed, and so well-kept. You can tell a lot of care goes into every detail. If you're looking to unwind, unplug, and enjoy some real peace and quiet, this is where you want to be. It’s a true escape, and we’ll definitely be back again.

We did a two week Nova Scotia vacation. We booked only one night here and wished we would have stayed longer. It was very clean, comfortable beds, cool at night and so peaceful. I had the best sleep of the entire trip here. It also had a great shower. The proprietor is very friendly and let us borrow a book about the history and landforms of the region. We walked the beach at low tide. This was a unique and unforgettable experience.

It is unfortunate that this beautiful property is managed in a manner that does not reflect its potential. Our group has visited Four Seasons Retreat for several summers in a row, and we have recommended it to many family and friends. Unfortunately, it appears that our loyalty holds little value to the current management. We returned for our annual summer getaway with our group of 13 guests, ranging in age, during the first weekend of August. We rented three two-bedroom cottages. The only notable issue during our stay occurred upon the arrival of our final guest, when Greg initially refused to allow him to enter the premises. Greg considered a 10-month-old infant, sleeping in a playpen we had brought from home, as an adult occupant. Our understanding, based on standard industry practices and past experience, was that children under the age of two are not considered occupants for capacity purposes. While we respect that property owners may set their own rules, this policy is neither listed on the business’s website nor was it communicated during the booking process. Ultimately, Greg permitted our final guest to stay, given the significant distance traveled from PEI. We considered this matter an avoidable misunderstanding, and we had already intended to review our numbers carefully for future visits. Beyond this incident, no concerns were raised to our group by Greg at any point during our stay. Shortly after our group checked out, we received an email from Greg advising us to rebook elsewhere in the future. No explanation or reasoning was provided for this decision, and when we attempted to have a respectful discussion to understand and address any possible issues, Greg declined but assured us he had a “long list of issues” with our group. This lack of transparency and refusal to engage in dialogue has left our group feeling that the decision was made arbitrarily and without factual basis. As loyal guests to this rental property, we believe it is reasonable to expect clear communication and an opportunity to address concerns before such a decision is made. While we appreciate that any business owner may choose who they serve, the absence of explanation, combined with the dismissive tone of the interactions, came across as both disrespectful and unprofessional. We believe this reflects poorly on the standards of customer care and fairness that should be upheld by a reputable business. This experience has left our group with the clear impression that the issue was not with our conduct, but with the owner’s unwillingness to engage in fair and respectful dialogue. Loyalty should be met with professionalism, not arbitrary decisions and closed doors. While the setting is beautiful, it is difficult to recommend a business where the management treats long-standing guests in such a dismissive and unaccountable manner.

We had decided to stop somewhere coastal before leaving Nova Scotia heading westward and I found this hidden gem the same day we showed up. Waze had no difficulty navigating us to the property making it easy to find even in the thick fog. Upon arrival, we found a warm lobby with an adorable dog and within seconds, we were checked in and shown the way to our rooms, talk about service. After a quick freshen up, we headed to the dining area for supper. The menu was impressive along with the great prices. One of us had a dietary restriction that they were able to take care of without fuss. Our server was friendly and attentive, the food was superb, and the view out the HUGE windows, magnificent. We didn’t notice air conditioning but I’m not sure we needed it and the fan never needed to go on. It was a comfortable nights sleep which was followed by a return to the dining area for breakfast, again impressive, delicious, and with a fresh face whom was just as wonderful. The coffee was also very good. Saying that this was a very good experience is no exaggeration and we hope to find ourselves there the next time we head to Nova Scotia.

We only stayed for one night towards the end of our holiday in Nova Scotia but we immediately wished it was for longer. A real hidden gem. The location is stunning and sightings of eagles and Otters from the grounds. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable but it's the views that are spectacular. The Inn is on a peninsula and so sea views almost every direction. Our evening meal ranked with the best of the whole holiday and very reasonably priced. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area.

I was there for the Guysborough Academy prom dinner, beautiful place, big photogenic backyard, with beautiful scenery. The dinner itself was turkey dinner I think, and was prepared with absolute excellence. The presentation was awe worthy, and the server staff were prompt and professional. They were also flexible, offering vegetarian options. The dessert was exquisite and something that easily took hours to prepare. It had a flaky crust shell, with pudding inside, and served with fresh raspberry sauce. The plate itself was elegantly decorated with a perimeter of chocolate sauce. The presentation of the dish was very nice. I enjoyed eating it immensely.

Nestled along the Cabot Trail, Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort offers oceanside accommodations in a rustic eco resort with a bistro and free Wi-Fi. The 300-kilometer road leading to the resort provides stunning views of Cape Breton's coastline and access to popular activities like golfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, and whale watching.
Dear Paul, Barbara and teams: Your resort feels like a timeless Cape Breton sanctuary. We arrived to warm greetings and attentive service that made us feel instantly welcome. Soulful music nights, especially informal acoustic gatherings after dinner on weekend, (Thursday & Saturday) brought magic under starry skies. Chef‑crafted meals came with quality: “healthy, hearty, creative and delicious” produce such as salmon, mussels, steaks, and garden vegetables earned glowing praise. Cozy yurts, domes and chalets beside ocean and lake offered full immersion in tranquility. Your hospitality, music and inspired dinners make Cabot Shores unforgettable. Also, the stunning views when the sun goes down and when it rise in the morning. We stayed at flying moose.. YURT, extended another day because of the ambiance and the stunning ocean views.. We thank you deeply and look forward to returning always grateful... Highly recommended..

Best smashed burger ever! The staff is helpful if you’re honest and kind. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the hottubs were dirty. The owner said it’s because “the hot tubs aren’t dirty, the people are”. Other than that the atmosphere is really nice and cozy! I love the wood stoves especially the lounge area. The staff live and work on the resort so they’re very familiar with the place if you need recommendations to enjoy the area. Love the vibes here

Such a fun and welcoming place to stay. Before arrival staff was very communicative about our needs…the chalets were perfect for our large family but domes were gorgeous for unique stay. We loved the beach and young adults loved the game room.the food was incredibly delicious and I enjoyed learning maritime gardening secrets. We all loved hot tubs and sauna. We’re treated to the perfect dinner music even allowing one of our family members to join in! Only suggestion is a dab of WD40 for squeaky door hinge so we don’t disturb others…It was truly a beautiful and magical place with lots explores nearby!

First I’ll start off by saying the website for both the wilderness lodge and bistro, do not reflect the accuracy of the experience on arrival. As we went for lunch based on website. On arrival you drive down a dirt road that opens up to unkept grounds, and outdated unkept lodge. Pictures on website not accurately reflect current state of “resort”. We initially thought we drove down the wrong road as there seemed to be private residents on site as well, rather a small community of people and we assumed we accidentally drove into an indigenous reserve. Until you see the lodge. We went in for lunch. The menu very limited. The lodge very old, outdated but tons of character. I will say the food was delicious! Cleanliness not great at all. We ended our meal and went to the bathroom. Located downstairs the hallway was filthy, dirt and leaves everywhere. The bathroom I almost didn’t use and even left without washing my hands. The bathroom I assume caters to the private quarters as well as there was a shower inside and someone’s personal used towel was just laying in the sink. In order for me to wash my own hands I’d have to remove said towel. It felt very unsanitary and I left immediately. I’m sorry I didn’t take a photo as I didn’t think anyone would believe me, but I just wanted out of the bathroom. It was as if I walked into someone’s house and used their dirty bathroom. After telling my husband my experience he decided to wait to use the gas station washroom down the way. The resort has great potential. The food we enjoyed very much. You can tell in the past years from awards/stickers on the door that it was once a great place and websites do not accurately reflect current state. I believe they are still being used to reflect what once was.

We stayed in the cedar yurt. Our own hot tub, which was nice. Washrooms are not in yurts, but are located nearby. Huge property on the shore with different terrain types. This is rustic, build your own fire in your fireplace for heat. We enjoyed it for something different.

I stayed here on my motorcycle with a hammock in site 5 on September 19th. I was blown away with how much I enjoyed this campground. I’ve stayed at many, many places in my travels, and this was likely my favorite campground I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a pretty early stop on the Cabot Trail on the southeast end, which sets you up the next day for a full ride/drive going around counter-clockwise. The most important thing about the stay was the common area; there’s a 24hr lodge that acts as the office, bar, restaurant, and gathering space. Equally important was the staff. Rebecca brings an overwhelmingly positive energy and cleanses the space with sage (I think!) and is so pleasant. Chloe was the bartender and was so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. I didn’t catch the lady working who checked me in, she was new, and so happy to be there. My only issue was the fact that I was traveling fast. I would have stayed a week if given the chance. Hope to see these folks in the future. Cheers 🍻

We had an incredible experience at Cabot Shores. The apple orchard yurt was adorable and very comfortable. The resort itself is very well laid out and each campsite feels private yet still close to the amenities (restaurant, spa, bathrooms, beach, etc). The restaurant was great and the spa was luxurious. We did a treatment with Rebecca that was very relaxing and rejuvenating. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
Ally E — Google review
Our stay was disappointing. The vent on the dome was cut and let bugs in. Burnt plastic on the wood stove made the place a smokey mess. The grounds were over grown and not well kept. For the cost it wasn't worth it. They charge for (cold) coffee and the use of (terribly cheap and wore out) canoes and kayaks. I will say the property is lovely and the staff was friendly. There is just better value in the area

Nestled on the tranquil northeastern shore of Nova Scotia, Fox Harb'r Resort is a luxurious waterfront retreat offering a range of upscale amenities. Set on 350 acres of private hunting reserve, guests can indulge in activities like horse riding, fly fishing, yachting, and pheasant-shooting. The resort boasts a pristine 10 km shoreline along with two top-notch golf courses and a lavish spa featuring an indoor pool and hot tub.
We hosted our wedding at Fox Harb'r Resort in October 2024, and it was truly everything we had hoped for—and more. We were planning from Alberta on relatively short notice, during a very stressful period balancing work demands and life following a devastating wildfire. From the beginning, Dawn at the resort was incredible to work with. She took the time to understand our vision and made thoughtful recommendations that aligned perfectly with what we were hoping to create. Her calm, confident guidance made it easy to make quick decisions, even on a tight timeline. The resort’s wedding package offered amazing value for small weddings and elopements, and we really appreciated the flexibility to tailor certain elements to suit our needs. Every detail came together seamlessly. The entire team—from the concierge and bell staff to banquets and dining far exceeded our expectations. Everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely invested in making our day special. After the wedding, we found ourselves reflecting on just how fun and relaxed it all felt, even after the stress that led up to it. It was exactly what we needed and exactly what we wanted. We honestly wish we could do it all over again. Huge thanks to the Fox Harb’r team for turning a difficult few months into the most beautiful celebration.

June 16-18/25. 4 guys golf trip, stayed in a house by the marina. The level of attention and service cannot be matched, everything was perfect! The main dining room and the pub provided superior service and quality food. We met Christi and Kieran,(among many others) who really made our stay enjoyable. On site shuttle service to get you around from the house to golf to spa. The spa has a wide choice of services which we really enjoyed after a round of golf. They have redone the existing golf course(s)and are adding another(i believe they said 2027 for completion). They also have their own runway so you can fly in anytime. A great experience and we will definitely look forward to returning.

Fox Harbour Resort was the stunning setting for our nephew and nieces wedding and we so enjoyed our stay there. The home we stayed in was beautiful and had everything we needed to make our time there comfortable and relaxing. The home was in close proximity to wedding events and other recreational activities and the staff were second to none in taking care of our needs. We enjoyed 18 holes of golf and thoroughly enjoyed the course and the stunning views of the ocean. We also had the chance to feast on the scrumptious food served by the resort for the wedding and at The Willard. Food was delicious - enjoyed every bite! Would love to visit again and highly recommend a stay.

I expected much more from a resort with such a high-end reputation and price point. While the property itself may be luxurious, the service was anything but. I accidentally left behind my toiletries bag in the room — it contained essential items including medication, electric razor, and my electric toothbrush. I called the resort as soon as I realized, and while I was told they’d “look into it,” I had to chase them multiple times just to get an update. No one followed up on their own. After several calls over a few days, they finally confirmed they had the bag and said they’d send it to me. It’s now been over a week, and I still haven’t received anything — no tracking info, no confirmation, nothing. For the amount I paid to stay here, I expected a much higher standard of service. Frankly, I would have expected them to overnight the bag the same day, especially considering it contained prescription medication. It’s extremely disappointing that a resort positioning itself as a luxury destination can be so careless and unresponsive when it comes to basic guest service. This experience completely changed my perception of the brand.

Stayed at Fox Harb’r for a wedding recently - accommodations were excellent and excellent allowing us to check in early for the rehearsal dinner. So many photo worthy spots in location too! Cherry on top though was the doggie goodie bag provided - poop bag and container, treats, and there was a dog bed and bowls waiting for her. Shuttle service was free and quick.

I wouldn't classify this resort as a 5 star in any shape or form. Maybe there golf course, but the food from, "The Willard Pub", is definitely compared to a Smitty's restaurant. The people are exceptional, the food is crap..the wait is even worse. The grounds are nice, but nothing to rave about. Not worth the price tag that comes with this place.
Jennifer M — Google review
We arrived at Fox Harb'r at the end of 2 weeks in the maritimes. Thinking that this was bucket list destination and certainly the price for the room sets a bar of expectation - we were shocked to arrive to a full construction site in front and back of our villa. After the booking there are numerous emails to book spa services, tee times, wine tours etc. (all things that cost more $) but not one message to let us know that the place is under construction. In fact I have gone back to the website to try and find some glimpse of this important information that surely I have missed - but no. Not a mention of the construction. At check in we were not told that there are bicycles available for our use, we were not provided with a map of the property so feel quite secluded behind the piles of dirt. Because of this we have decided to golf at another near by resort - it just does not feel nice to pay $350+ per round to play in area surrounded by diggers, dirt flying and unfinished spaces. I am writing this at 7:22 pm and they have just now shut down the machinery in front of our room - phew! This should be a 5 star resort but our experience is a fully 3 stars.

Nestled in the heart of Queensland, Surfside Inn is a charming Victorian-style retreat that perfectly blends comfort with natural beauty. Just a stone's throw from the stunning Queensland Beach Provincial Park and within walking distance to local attractions like the Hooked Rug Museum of North America, this inn offers an ideal base for exploration. With eight uniquely decorated rooms, guests can unwind in a cozy atmosphere while enjoying complimentary Wi-Fi and bike parking.
My partner and I had the most wonderful stay at charming Sureside Inn with a stunning ocean view from Honeymoon Suite. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. The cozy atmosphere made for the perfect romantic retreat. One of the highlights was the delicious cheeseboard and the beautifully prepared three-course dinner—every bite was a delight! We also enjoyed a peaceful walk along Queensland Beach, taking in the fresh sea air and the gorgeous scenery. In the evening, we spent a couple of hours by the fireplace, flipping through vintage magazines and simply unwinding. It was the perfect way to end our stay. If you're looking for a cozy, romantic escape with warm hospitality and breathtaking views, this is the place to be. We can't wait to return!

Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make us comfortable. A very quaint little seaside inn - like you’d expect in a movie. We loved sleeping with the window open with the waves crashing on the beach. Rooms (including bedding, towels, all amenities) were clean. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach. We didn’t swim while we were here due to a water quality warning, but the walk down the beach was great!

We had a wonderful family reunion at the Surfside Inn. The attentive staff understood our desire for privacy and provided us with a beautiful, secluded space. The food we ordered was delicious. I was very disappointed...I had read bad reviews but tried it for myself. I will say the bed was clean and comfy but the rest was dirty..worn out..and in need of serious TLC. Toaster and fireplace didn't work...dishes were dirty...it's just shabby looking. What a shame because it could be so much more. Beautiful layouts and location...but no maintenance or housekeeping skills.

We stayed here for my 50th bday. What a view! When we arrived we discovered we had no water but one quick call to Karen and it was fixed within the hour. So many thoughtful extras and details. Very comfortable beds and a great layout. The walking trails right from the dome were a fantastic bonus. The sunset view from the dome or hot tub was breathtaking. Hopefully they will continue to cater to those with animal allergies. The sky dome was pet free but they have since changed that policy. Please make one dome pet free again!! Looking forward to another trip.

We were glad that we found this location to stay at in Advocate Harbor. We did not get to spend enough time in the unit as we should have to take advantage of how nice it was. We were in the area to go sea kayaking and got off the water late. It was nice to arrive here, and the manager waited until we arrived before shutting up for the night. The unit was very comfortable with a great kitchen and living room upstairs to enjoy and two bedrooms and a bath downstairs. The kitchen was nicely equipped and you could have easily prepared a meal there. The living area had a fire place and comfortable furniture to relax and enjoy the quite location. The beach just outside the unit was beautiful and had lots of great driftwood along its shore. You could see a great distance in both directions along the shoreline, including the fog that was hanging low in the actual harbor channel. There were lots of notes taped up around the place with rules to follow, this seemed a little tacky and somewhat unnecessary. The other interesting items was the shower which was small but certainly adequate to get a shower. This would be a great sport to stay for multiple nights and really explore the local area.

We stayed for 2 nights. This place exceeded our expectations. I contacted Sue (the owner) to let her know we would be late arriving, and she basically did everything for us prior to our arrival, so all we had to do is walk into our chalet. The chalet itself was amazing...the loft, only had 2 single beds, but whatever, it was a neat place to sleep. Fire on the beach, amazing. We had the whole beach to ourselves for the day. I strongly recommend this place to this quiet well kept secret.

A disturbing experience. Although comfortable at first, minus the copious insects the host is strangely disturbing. Recycling and sorting is a must and although I'm a firm believer in recycling it seemed oddly enforced. Expect low flow toilets which if gets plugged is your fault also expect the owner to charge you $115. Horrible!

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is a large museum featuring exhibits on boatbuilding, shipwrecks, and naval history. It also houses a historic vessel. One of its main attractions is the artifacts and stories related to the Titanic, including details about the marine disaster and its connection to Halifax. Visitors can learn intriguing facts from knowledgeable guides, such as how the Titanic's speed record attempt contributed to its sinking.
Nice museum, and an important stop for understanding life in Halifax, especially its deep connection to maritime culture. It features a nice collection of historical artifacts, a fair amount of informative displays, and a few pieces related to the Titanic. But what I personally loved the most was the collection of scale model ships — a long-lost craft. They are beautifully made and brought back so many childhood memories of wandering around similar displays back home. If you have the time, it’s a lovely spot for a short break in your day.
Chef P — Google review
Great museum with some interesting topics for people coming from abroad as well. Like information on the Titanic. We went on a Tuesday, we didn’t know, but then entrance is free. At the time we walked in a free guided tour was starting. The ideal to quickly explore some highlights as we were short on time. To fully visit you should reserve at least 2-3 hours.
Matthias T — Google review
The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is located in a very convenient spot, just a short walk from Downtown. The opening hours are also quite reasonable. Inside, you’ll find a variety of exhibits showcasing the history of sailing, with models of ships from different eras, along with informative displays. It’s a very educational experience. I specifically went to see the Titanic exhibit, and although there weren’t as many physical items related to Titanic as I expected, the information and records were still interesting and insightful. Apart from that, there are also beautiful displays of various sailing ships and modern steamships. It’s a great place to bring kids as they can learn a lot about the development of maritime history. The ticket price is also quite reasonable. Highly recommended!
Lin Z — Google review
Great museum! Many hands-on displays. Guided tours are held frequently throughout the day. We saw one explaining the Halifax explosion hosted by Ella's. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the subject and offered some little known facts too! Definitely recommend this!
Mark S — Google review
The location of this museum is very good, next to the port. In addition to the regular maritime exhibitions, there are also historical materials and exhibits about the Titanic. Looking at those exhibits, my heart is full of sadness. There are ticket discounts for people of different ages and identities. It is recommended to come and visit.
Anqi Y — Google review
Wow! Such a great place to learn about the maritime history of the area. So many models, artifacts and information about everything from the Halifax explosion that blew windows out 60kl away to Titanic information and naval warfare history. Stop in, the staff is helpful and your ticket is good for all day you can come and go as you please.
Richard B — Google review
A very interesting visit. Numerous highly detailed models. Several objects and pieces of information were new to me, despite my prior readings on the topics covered. Located at the Halifax waterfront, the museum provides a pleasant opportunity to extend the visit with a tour of the Acadia ship, followed by a stroll along the waterfront, enriched by various attractions such as shops, restaurants, and more.
Jonathan G — Google review
As a fan of maritime history and Titanic I was expecting a lot coming into this museum. I would say I was both pleasantly surprised but also let down at the same time. The first floor is filled with history on a multitude of different Nova Scotian maritime history, from the Halifax explosion, to the Canadian Navy, and a very nice cultural piece on First Nation history. This is also where I feel there could be improvement, the hall with smaller boats and water craft feels a little under utilized and sparse with artifacts. The second floor is what blew me away, an amazing display of Cunard artifacts and models, hands on models, and the star of the show, the titanic section. Filled with history and artifacts that are rather touching when you read the history behind them. Be prepared to bump shoulder though as this is the busiest part of the museum. Overall this museum is a must see if you are into Titanic or Ocean Liner history, but the first floor leaves a little to be desired.

I’m glad there’s a museum like this. For those who had family enter Canada through the Halifax port, I would expect that this museum would be a wonderful connection point and learning experience for them. Mostly European stories were represented here, which I enjoyed learning about, however as a Filipino-Canadian, there wasn’t much representation or storytelling connected to my culture. Happy for those cultures represented but for me, this museum was just okay.

Very impressive museum- a lot of heart and soul went into creating this place I’m sure! I enjoyed looking at all the artifacts and learning about the stories of immigrants throughout the years. The employees were all quite friendly, especially a volunteer who shared some knowledge with us. I think everyone should go to Pier 21 at least once, it will leave you with a new perspective and a better appreciation for the people who left everything to start a new life here.

A meaningful and well-curated experience. Pier 21 is exceptionally well done — the layout is thoughtful, the exhibits are engaging, and the entire space is welcoming and kid-friendly. The staff were attentive, the facilities were clean, and admission was free on Canada Day, which made it even more accessible. As someone with Dutch heritage, I found the experience both eye-opening and deeply moving. It offered powerful insights into the immigrant journey, and I left with a greater appreciation for the courage and resilience of those who came before us.

Fantastic experience of Canada’s immigration history in the mid-20th century. We went with our two kids (13 and 10) and weren’t sure how long they would want to stay. In the end we stayed 2 hours and only left because the museum was closing. The tour was very good and the short documentary very moving. There are so many interactive exhibits and the staff were so helpful.

I wasn’t expecting to love this place as much as I did. I was in town for work and had 2 hours to spare so I made my way here. It was fascinating to learn about the immigration history in Canada. The sort movie made me tear up and made me grateful for our country through all of its faults. I even got to learn more about my great-grandfather’s journey to Canada. This place exceeded expectations big time!

I love reading about history especially about how my ancestors arrived here by ship. There are guided tours that lasts 20 followed by a 22 minute film. Very interesting. Both my grandparents and my dad immigrated to Canada.
Darlene W — Google review
Museum was interesting but seemed expensive once we got thru the exhibits. There were interesting things to see but felt somewhat limited for the cost of admission. We came to Halifax on a cruise, so we were docked literally right next door. We docked at Pier 22 and the museum is at Pier 21. The buildings share a wall and there is a doorway to access the museum from the cruise poetry shops area. So if you are visiting via cruise ship, the location is excellent.

Fundy National Park of Canada, located along the southern coast of the Bay of Fundy, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The park boasts an extensive trail system with stunning coastal views and showcases the Acadian forest. Visitors can explore a range of trails, from easy to challenging, including the epic 11-kilometer Goose River Trail with its dramatic landscapes and river valley views.
A trip to the Bay of Fundy wouldn’t be worth it if you didn’t camp at Fundy National Park. Visit the village of Alma and pick up some clams and lobster and relax at your campsite before heading out to Hopewell Rocks and walk around these amazing structures eroded by the sea. Check out the tide timetable. Great campground.

Wonderful campground. Spacious sites, with electric, water and dumping on the spot. Access to coastal trail, and a jewel of a golf course steps away. Great views over the bay from picnic area. The campground is very near the charming fishing town of Alma, where you can see the famously high tides lifting fishing boats out of the mud.

This is a place where you want to visit and spend lots of time enjoying the nature at its best. For us it was a short and quick tour due to time constraints. We did the Dickson fall hike with kids and enjoyed the hike. Information shared enroute about the surrounding made this small hike more memorable. Will be planning for a longer trip to explore more.
G S — Google review
Amazing hikes and trails, as well as appropriate facilities in the campgrounds. The tides are high and beach exploration at low tide is a must at point Wolfe. Big spruce trees and right beside Alma, a cute little tourist area. The appeal is the undeveloped, low population factor.

Great spot! The observation area is fantastic. I’m here off season but the parking lot before the main entrance is almost good enough!

Fundy National Park is a remarkable destination that showcases the beauty of Canada's natural landscapes. Nestled along the Bay of Fundy, this park offers a unique experience with its fascinating tidal phenomenon. The water levels here rise and fall dramatically, creating an ever-changing coastal environment that is both captivating and awe-inspiring. One of the highlights of visiting Fundy National Park is witnessing the dramatic tidal changes firsthand. The sight of the water level rising and falling is truly mesmerizing, and it offers a glimpse into the powerful forces of nature at work. This tidal activity also creates a dynamic ecosystem, supporting a diverse range of plant and animal life. Aside from the tidal phenomenon, Fundy National Park boasts stunning scenery and a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore the park's numerous hiking trails, which meander through lush forests, along rugged coastlines, and past picturesque waterfalls. The park is also home to a number of beautiful beaches, perfect for relaxing or taking a refreshing dip in the ocean. Overall, Fundy National Park is a wonderful place to visit for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Its unique tidal phenomenon, stunning scenery, and diverse wildlife make it a must-see destination in Canada.

Absolutely breathtaking place. Tons of stuff to do, and so little time. I'm thankful we live just an hour from this provincial park. We are very excited to take a few more trips here to really take in the natural beauty that is the Bay of Fundy. Our first stop was the Hopewell Rocks. Entry was I believe $39 for a family pass which included 2 adults and a few kids. Individual adult passes were $9. We opted to walk down to the ocean floor as that was the whole reason for going here... To enjoy the views and nature. If you choose to take the shuttle it is $2 a person and takes you right to the staircase. There are 100+ steps down and back up of course. Not a big deal but consider this if you're not 100% mobile. Prices of drinks inside the shop are about $3.00 for a bottled pop. I'm unsure about food... I'm sure it follows that trend as well. If you're going here for a visit but dislike crowds, consider going during the week while kids are in school. The playground was a good reward for the kids once they climbed all the steps and back to the top. There are various games for them to play. I love the addition of dog bowls filled with water for your furry friends. If you get muddy while walking around the ocean floor -- don't fret, you can rinse off your feet and shoes after climbing back up the stairs. We stopped at the salt water pool for an afternoon swim. The pool was heated and had a shallow end as well as a deep end over 11 feet deep. Diving board for the kids and lifejackets available if need be. The lifeguards didn't seem very pushy so it was easy to enjoy our time there.

Well worth the extra few hours of driving to get here. Loved going down to Point Wolfe and seeing the covered bridge. The visitors center is also very clean and there are plenty of scenic pull-offs and short trails along the main road.

Fairview Lawn Cemetery, situated in the North End of Halifax, is a serene and historically significant site that holds the remains of 121 individuals who perished in the Titanic disaster. The cemetery is also home to victims of the 1917 Halifax Explosion. After being recovered by the Canadian Navy, most bodies were brought to this location for their final resting place.
Went here to visit the graves of some of the Titanic passengers. It was a very respectable setting and interesting to read some of the history. While there we saw a few deer.

Solemn visit to this place to show respect at the SS Titanic grave site. So many young and unidentified grave markers and all with the same date of death hits home the enormity of the disaster from 113 years ago. Reading some of the grave stones is sad.
Phil V — Google review
Fairlawn Cemetery, located in the North end of Halifax, is most noted as the location of the final resting place for 121 victims of the sinking of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912. Most of the markers are msde of gray granite inscribed with the name and date of death. But there are many victims that were never identified and their markers just have the date of death and a maker number.
Dan T — Google review
Story goes that Halifax was one of, if not the largest recipient of victims of the Titanic. They had the morgue and burial capabilities that other closer ports did. Many of the victims were/still are unidentified except for the number upon which they were received. Some were also identified many years later through dna testing. Pretty interesting tour of the grave sites. This cemetery also holds many victims of the Halifax explosion. This cemetery is very well maintained for such a high traffic spot. It also can be a lot with all the tours that come by a place that is supposed to be a final “resting” place. Worth a visit if you are interested in the history of the Titanic.
Shula R — Google review
This is a beautifully kept cemetery, with a historical connection to the Titanic tragedy. We were told that if you Google the names on the headstones that you will find information on that person.

A must see place in halifax.121 souls are laid to rest here from the disastrous sinking in 1912 of The Titanic. Not the easiest place to find. The graves are arranged and layed out to represent the bow of the Titanic. Best way for me was as part of the London Routemaster Bus Hoppo tour. For all you movie buffs less interested in the true history, Yes, you can go see the gravestone of Jack(Joseph ?) Dawson played by Leonardo Di Caprio.I would rather have found the carriage with Kate Winslet still in it but thats wishful thinkin' 🤪

Extremely interesting and well maintained cemetery. It is the resting place of 121 victims of the Titanic disaster. I had originally gone only to see the Titanic memorial but then found the mass grave for the victims of the 1917 harbor explosion. So sad to see. I went to the maritime museum and found the exhibit of the 1917 explosion after seeing the grave.

The Blomidon Inn is a charming Victorian-style lodging housed in a grand 19th-century building. It offers a free breakfast buffet and Wi-Fi for guests. This landmark property in Wolfville has been providing exceptional hospitality to visitors, with well-maintained historic buildings and grounds. The on-site dining experience is highly praised, featuring a great menu with seasonal and local emphasis, as well as an impressive wine list curated by the knowledgeable sommelier.
We recently visited Blomidon Inn for an overnight trip to Wolfville. The Inn is full of character and is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms have upgraded washrooms and very comfortable rooms. The staff are excellent, very kind and always accommodating. The continental breakfast was amazing! Be sure to walk through their gardens. We highly recommend staying at Blomidon Inn.

my fiancé took me to stay here for my birthday, and it was such an incredible surprise! both the outside and inside of the building are both beautiful, the property and gardens were lovely to walk by, and it was super quiet all the time which made the atmosphere even more perfect for a relaxing time away from the city. the staff were amazing and kind, and everything was just so nice that i couldn't stop walking around the building as much as i could to see everything in it. after a sudden change in our schedule after we had checked out in the morning and ended up having to come back, we were even given a discounted stay in the executive suite which was just lovely as well. i would love to stay here again!

This is our go to dining place for family gatherings, quiet dinners, and tranquil times. Michael and staff provide excellent service, quality food and superb atmosphere. We have traveled all over the world and eaten in many wonderful places Blomidon is our Favourite. If we didn't live so close, we would love to stay there as well. It is a class act in all respects. We have had family and friends stay at the Inn and they all loved it. From the beautiful gardens, nicely appointed rooms to the excellent location, it is a thoroughly delightful spot to spend time, an evening , a few days, or weeks!

We had another fabulous stay at the Blomidon. They were able to accommodate a last minute addition to our party. The gazebo was perfect for a picnic for 6. We enjoyed the continental breakfasts and dinner in the dining room. The weather was great for pre dinner drinks on the patio. Shout out to the wonderful staff. Looking forward to our next stay.

While everyone who reads about this place knows that there is no elevator.. so that aside, this place was a beautiful find. While the rooms weren't perfect, they had plenty of charm and amenities that a traveler will always look for, and then some. The only thing lacking was a coffee option in the room. Quuen beds only, but very clean and comfortable. Definitely a repeat stay place. Oh... And the food was amazing. Highly recommend the gourmet dinner option as part of your stay. (day dependent)

A beautiful heritage hotel in the gorgeous community of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Prior to check in we got some great recommendations for wineries and restaurants in the area. All were spot on! Upon check in the young man who greeted us was doing it all including carrying our bags, mixing up refreshments and telling us more about the area and delivering all the things to our room to make our visit more comfortable. The building and grounds were beautifully kept and we enjoyed a relaxing evening prior to our flight home. Don’t skip a trip to wine country and a stay at this hotel - it’s well worth it!

It is considered the cultural hub of the community and aims to connect and transform through live theatre and music. The theatre features some of the region's best artists and musical theatre professionals, presenting a diverse playbill that amplifies creative voices.
Went to see Little Shop of Horrors here! The cast, performance, and theater was great (even though we bought the cheapest tickets)! The seats/aisles were a bit snug, but I can't complain after such a great experience :) The merch was great as well!

This was an amazing show! The cast was so well selected and performed their roles perfectly. The sets were beautifully constructed and the transitions were seamless. I would highly recommend this show especially if you love musicals. The vocals were on point and the cast had the crowd engaged from the opening line to the dancing finale. Neptune is such a wonderful theatre. It is beautiful and spacious. The staff are delightful especially the bar staff who are incredibly personable and welcoming. The seats are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. There are snacks and lots of drink options and they are well priced. Our party ranged in age from 10 to 55 and everyone had a fabulous time. There are booster seats for the kids which worked perfectly. It was a splurge but one that was well worth it to kick off a short trip to Halifax.

I love this spot, and I would love to leave a higher review. However, we have been coming to this theatre for over 20 years and loved the various Christmas shows. Unfortunately it’s gotten pretty stale in that department. The same Scrooge/Christmas Carol has now been playing for so many years I can’t even remember. We’ve seen it, and it’s pretty good, but it’s long overstayed its welcome at this point. Time to bring in a new holiday play…

My 1st visit was to see their production of Disney's Frozen the musical. I was blown away by the calibre of their show. I've seen the actual original show on Broadway and the official US tour and the talent I saw at Neptune was as good and personally I preferred Neptune's cast. The sets and costumes were also wonderful. For Elisa's signature song the set here was more cohesive than the Broadway version which had Elsa standing on an empty stage with crystal backdrop for the whole song. Noteworthy is that this was the Canadian premier of Frozen. Disney has never granted the rights in Canada before. It was also one of the first ever North American non-replica productions after the official US tour closed in fall of 2024. The staff at the theatre were also lovely and ready to answer any questions and always had a smile. I sat in the front row and another night back in row M and both had great views. I don't think there are any bad seats in the house. As someone who doesn't drink a lot I really appreciate that they included a fun mocktail in their themed drinks for the show. It was delicious and I think I'll be making these at home now! If you ever get a chance to see a show at Neptune, especially when they're doing a big musical, definitely get tickets.

The West Point Lighthouse Museum, a striking 5-story structure built in 1875, now houses history exhibits and guest rooms with scenic views. It offers a rare opportunity to spend the night in a lighthouse, fulfilling the childhood dream for many. The four-star hotel inside the 69-foot lighthouse features 13 rooms with breathtaking views of the Northumberland Strait, some with walk-out decks.
I cannot rave about this stay more! This was our first time in PEI and we started our trip off at this location! What a great start to the trip! The motel felt like I was in a movie. Going to sleep listening to the waves and waking up to being steps from the ocean from our room… what more could you ask for! The room was clean and charming, pretty standard hotel room. We didn’t know it included breakfast in the stay so that was a nice little perk! The breakfast was good, and there was different options. Having access to the lighthouse museum anytime was also great! It is a stunning one! The staff were so friendly and made the check in easy even when we arrived late at night! If you want to have a great and unique stay, this is the place!

Wow! We absolutely loved our stay here. It was the highlight of our entire trip. We stayed in a second floor room and managed to arrive just in time to watch the sunset from the balcony. Truly a magical experience. We visited the museum in the evening. It’s extremely well laid out and so much information is provided. We got up early the next morning and climbed to the top of the lighthouse and got to watch the sunset rise over the island. Then to top it all off, we were treated to a lovely home cooked breakfast included with our stay. Our whole experience was an amazing experience and will remain a core memory for us for years to come. Thank you so much for taking such great care of us during our visit.

Our first visit to PEI for my husband and I. We jumped at the chance to stay at a lighthouse in a remote part of the island. Stayed for one night. The lighthouse itself and the museum are impressive. The property faces west which provides for an unbelievable sunset right from our balcony. The room itself was average size and very clean. Appreciated having hardwood floors and not carpet. Furniture in great shape, good lighting, small refrig in room. Ample seating inside the room as well as the balcony for two. Homemade breakfast, fresh eggs, toast, biscuits, delectable coffee, just like at home. Had good dinner at Lighthouse Willy’s, back to our room within an hour just in time for an unbelievable sunset. Walked the beach 2m one way, water was warm for mid-September. Saw a seal from the beach. Heard the waves and gazed at the stars. Highly recommend. Don’t know of many places you can experience this tranquility.

Oct 1/25 we stayed for one night. It was a unique experience. The sound of the ocean outside our room was calming and tranquil, that I will not soon forget. Of interest, the Inn and the local seaside restaurant, Lighthouse Willy's Restaurant, a mile away are owned, maintained and operated by local community people. The light house museum is well worth the effort, as are the almost 100 steps to get to the top. Few places on this earth can provide this quality of beauty and solitude.....make it part of your travel experience while visiting PEI.

This inn should be on everyone’s bucket list. We were touring the East coast trying to be spontaneous and found all the hotels booked, then I saw West Point light house inn. Service was great. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was delicious. It felt like a bed and breakfast. We did a sunrise walk on the beach. Watched the sunset on our balcony. My only regret is not staying longer. I will be back!

My family stayed for three nights: Rooms were amazing, beds comfortable, breakfast did not disappoint, beach access is great, staff is friendly but not intrusive, just a beautiful spot. Would absolutely recommend and will return. The museum is interesting, and feels authentic. St Marks Ceilidh on Thursday nights is nearby and offers an amazing musical experience if your schedule allows for it.

A great experience. We were in the Keepers Quarters. It is a real museum. A few times I opened the door and people asked if I was the manager. Unique location. Spent 2 nights here. Staff were very friendly. Down to earth. I think the Lighthouse and the restaurant in town, are owned and moderated by the community which I think is terrific. There are 2 rooms in the lighthouse and quite a few more in and adjacent motel. The lighthouse is very photogenic as a lot of souvenirs across P.E.I. can attest to.

Staying in a lighthouse was a unique experience . The sunset and the constant sound of waves added to the experience . Absolutely recommend . The rooms were well maintained . Breakfast was provided and was great. You may want to plan for an early dinner if you plan to stay for the night though. There aren’t many options nearby and the one diner close to the lighthouse is a hit and miss , not much of a service .

Domaine de Grand Pré, Atlantic Canada's oldest farm winery, is set to open an inn on its vineyard this spring. Nestled in the Annapolis Valley near a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the estate offers breathtaking views of rolling green hills and lush vineyards with ripening grapes. Guests can indulge in some of the best wine in Canada and enjoy a multi-course meal at the Chefs Table Dining experience with Chef Jason Lynch.
A lovely spot to take in some views, have a chat and a taste of wine selection. Lucas served the wines gracefully sharing tidbits of knowledge on wine and winemaking - why the whites dominate, how ice wine is made, and how they lost a crop a few years ago. There were a few options to try out in combinations of three(just do one set if you are driving!). I happen to prefer red, but I did enjoy their white selection and took a creamy apple liqueur home!

This beautiful winery is located in the stunning Annapolis Valley region. What a treat to enjoy their wine tasting and walk around the grounds in historic UNESCO Grand Prix Heritage site. The tastings were $12 with generous pours of the wines produced from grapes unique to the area. We really enjoyed and recommend their L’Acadie for white wine drinkers and their Field Blend for red wine drinkers.

Grand Pré - we are so glad we stopped by before you closed. Staff was so helpful and recommended flights - and we were lucky enough to try their Muscato. They haven’t had Muscato since 2017, so it was a real treat. Had the tasting fees waived because we bought a box! Thanks!

I gave 1 star because we couldn't get served at all. When we arrived, we were asked to wait 5-10 minutes — which we did. However, we then had to wait another 10 minutes while they served other people who arrived after us. When we were told to wait again, we decided to leave — there's no point in waiting when locals openly cut ahead, while you, as a polite foreigner, stand and wait for unclear reasons. Also, there are no snacks offered to go with the wine — not even cheese and crackers. There are many other wineries that are much more friendly and customer-oriented, so why waste your time here? It’s just a highly promoted tourist spot where you'll end up waiting in line with a big group of people. I do not recommend it.

Great Winery producing top quality Nova Scotian wines. Particularly their Tidal Bay, NS Brut and Ice wines are very good. The charcuterie board offered with wine tasting is also a gourmet delight. Overall a great winery to visit, especially for those who enjoy wines on the sweeter end such as Moscato and rislings.

The winery is nice and has a nice walk. However, if you are coming here for food, change your mind and make sure to have food beforehand. The wine is really good, especially the NS red. However the portions for food are so small that it leaves you confused whether you had food or air. I’m sure I lost calories by eating the food. So if you want to lose calories, it is a great spot. Oh and bring salt with you unless you want to eat just plain ingredients with no spice, trust me.

The BEST!!!! This campsite built into the cliff side has MANY campsites with spectacular views. Almost every campsite is very large and well spaced from others. I could have sat and stared at the view all day. There are lovely trails just to access parts of the campsite and hiking trails as well. We hiked a bit , didn’t want to hike all the way till park (takes like 7 km or so one way I think). Might return in summer but I wish google told us it was closed.

This place was an amazing place giving us a unique experience of the high and low tide. The lighthouse was very beautiful and well decorated. There was an easy access down the the beach. We were able to walk on the ocean floor since it was a low tide at the time. We were able to see many sea creatures like crabs, snails, etc. There was a playground near the lighthouse making foe an amazing place for children. There were benches giving a great view of the ocean and the 5 islands. The islands looked spectacular especially from the lighthouse area of the park.

Amazing park and people.probably best I'vestayed at ..it is a very nice piece of quiet heaven...I would stay here all season if I could. The sights and excursions are endless and have had the best vacation in years. There are private sites ( which is what I booked) for people who need to get away and decompress. Highly recommend this park for your next trip!!!!

Hiked the Red Head trail. The trail is mostly wooded with occasional viewpoints where views are often obstructed by trees. Trail is in need of some maintenance in places. The view from Red Head is spectacular however and worth the investment. There is no beach access along the trail (without significant risk due to high cliffs). There is ample parking by the campground rest station, which has washrooms and showers. The hike start is a short distance away. There is beach access from the campground. Beautiful views from the beach as well.

We had a great stay at site 34 Camp A. Incredible views from this site, bathrooms close by and quick access to a cliff side walking trail. Beautiful park

I stayed at site 16 for just under a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! The water and electrical service was convenient, as well as location in proximity to the day use area/beach. Loop A is a bit far from the washrooms/showers/dish washing area (it’s almost a 1km walk following the campsite roads). The views are spectacular and it’s a must see place at both low and high tide! Low tide is wonderful to walk far out, but high tide is nice for swimming on a hot day too.

We love this park. Did you know that is has some of the most interesting geology in the province? Take a walk along the beach at low tide and make your way east. Some really fantastic, and geologically unique features here. Worth checking out. I cycled the trails around the campground and enjoyed the views from the camp site. The park is high up on a hill, so the views from practically everywhere are fantastic. Staff is great too, and good firewood, which for me is a make or break item.

The Great George Hotel is an elegant historic boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown. Spanning 17 heritage buildings, this upscale accommodation offers tastefully restored guest rooms and suites featuring yoga mats and antiques. It's known for adding to the experience of the island, being Atlantic Canada's Premiere Experiential Hotel and a place where some of Canada's confederation delegates stayed. The hotel also offers daily historical walking tours and weekday evening beer and wine tasting events.
We had exceptional service at our stay at The Great George. It is a beautiful boutique hotel. We were upgraded to a Romantic Hideaway Suite, which was absolutely gorgeous. I love how the rooms have unique touches. The staff are very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The deluxe continental breakfast is served in their beautiful lobby area and has something for everyone. Their location is very central. You can park your car (parking included) and walk around downtown Charlottetown easily. The Great George is a place to go to be spoiled, a perfect getaway.

Great location for visiting Charlottetown. Short walk to the waterfront and other points of interest, close to tons of restaurants/bars/shops. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Beautiful historical buildings to stay in. Loved our room on the top floor of The Hughes House, it had a lovely deck patio, large kitchen and living room, and even had an in room washer and dryer. Would be great for a long stay. Free continental breakfast had a good selection, and the evening happy hour was nice as well, with a free beer, wine, and seltzer selection. Highly recommended a stay!!

I stayed here upon recommendation of a friend who stays regularly whenever she’s in PEI for work. It did not disappoint! Check-in was smooth—parking easy and included! My room was far larger than I had anticipated and was so very lovely. Even had a washer and dryer which was heaven sent after a few days of muddy adventures. Location is perfect walking distance to restaurants, pubs, the Confederation Centre and the waterfront. Would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Romantic Hideaway Suite 403 this past weekend and I had to write to express what an exceptional experience it was. From the quick and friendly Check-In ( to be greeted with hot coffee and homemade cookies was such a nice touch- especially on a blustery November day! ) to the seamless Check-Out, we were met with smiles and pleasantries by every staff member we encountered. The suite itself was thoughtfully appointed - I especially loved that the bedding was crisp, fresh and clean without the use of cloying fragranced detergents/fabric softeners and that the amenities were more natural and gently scented. The mattress, sofas and cushions were all in good condition - comfortable and well cared for - and the cozy fireplace was so appreciated on our rainy romantic weekend! Another lovely surprise was the quality of the breakfasts - the menu was thoughtful and appealing - similar to small European hotel offerings - rather than the standard North American "continental breakfast" - and my husband was amazed that the carafes actually keep the coffee super hot (he was also impressed to see the morning staff discreetly checking the food temperature with an infrared thermometer ). Other items of appreciation were that the included parking was close by and secure, and lovely restaurants and shops were a short pleasant walk ( aided by their umbrellas during a few downpours!) Essentially, the Great George was the perfect destination for a rainy autumnal getaway and we highly recommend it to anyone who asks!

Definitely NOT a 5 Star ⭐️ My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at The Great George Hotel in downtown Charlottetown. It’s promoted as a “5 Star” property, which we felt was important given the hotel’s collection of restored 1800s buildings. We booked a King Suite with a separate living room and fireplace. Pros: The main lobby is lovely — vintage furniture and warm character that feels old in the best way. Breakfast offered both hot and cold options, plus a gluten-free table and toaster. The 5–6 PM happy hour with a complimentary drink was a nice touch. The location couldn’t be better — steps from restaurants, shops, and the harbour. Cons: Check-in was curt and lacked any warmth or offer of assistance. No mention was made of the 3 flights of stairs ( 33 steps) to our suite - not ideal for anyone with mobility concerns. Housekeeping was inconsistent and disappointing. Despite requests for earlier cleaning, rooms weren’t serviced until late afternoon, and when they were, the vacuuming and attention to detail were poor. Hair in the hot tub on arrival and after cleaning was unacceptable. The $10 gift card offered “in lieu of cleaning” was only provided when we asked. Some areas inside and outside the hotel need repair and fresh paint, quite a lot of maintenance seems deferred, and parking is often full. I reached out to the manager, Megan Bruce, before posting this review, hoping to share feedback constructively. Her brief reply simply cited their “5 Star rating three years in a row” and closed with, “I am afraid I am unable to expand further to address your concerns but hope we have the opportunity to host you again soon to bring your experience to a 10/10 with us.” Disappointing, to say the least. A hotel’s true rating is reflected not in plaques or awards but in how it values and responds to its guests.

Fresh baked cookies everyday from 3 to 10 pm, a free beer or wine from 5 to 6 pm and a with a location second to none, what else could you ask for! Directly across the street from one of the most beautiful, massive churches I've ever seen! This place has unbelievable character and this hotel and it's surroundings just wreaks of history and stories! Really a neat stay and area!

We were happy with our stay. The staff was friendly and our room was clean and serviced every day. The coffee is very good. There are two reasons for the 4 stars in service. Dirty glasses were consistently left in the room when it was refreshed. The woman who checked us in was unfriendly, abrupt and rude. That being said, we never saw her again and everyone else was very nice and helpful.

What a fabulous hotel Lovely in its quirky lay out History as good as you,ll get in canada We got happy hr 5 - 6 pm free drinks Breakie complimentary We opted for no clean the next day . They give £10 toward your next visit to their chain We won't be doing that as fully booked on our nova scotia experience. But they gave me coffee capsules for the next day , so thats brilliant 👏

In the vibrant city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, there's a burgeoning craft beer scene that's worth exploring. One standout brewery is 2 Crows Brewing Co., located on Brunswick Street in the North End. This industrial-chic brewpub offers a contemporary setting where visitors can savor inventive craft brews and enjoy light fare.
I really liked the dry stout; I could drink it all night. The bartender was friendly and was a good dude to talk to. They had an impressive collection of beers on draft and in cans for takeaway. There was also a nice outdoor area, which is where I sat. It's right next to the Hampton Inn, which is great if you're staying there; you can get drunk and stumble over to bed.

Neat little spot where you can sample the beer and cider that's made on site. You can even see the big brew tanks etc. Decent beer. I had a "fantacity" whitbeer and bought a couple to go. There were also some varieties on tap but nothing that suited me that day. I'd go back and try the other types of beer when in the area though.

Visited a few days ago for a flight of beers. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about the beer. It's a little noisy inside (it's an operating brewery in there), but there is some nice outdoor seating as well. I tried many local beers while visiting Halifax and this was my favourite local beer. I had to fly home, otherwise I would have taken 24 to go. I still took a few beers for back at the hotel. If you are into craft beer, check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

2 Stars for 2 Crows – Just Not the Experience We Hoped For Unfortunately, 2 Crows Brewery didn’t really hit the mark for us. Right off the bat, we were put off by a strange smell inside, and the overall vibe just didn’t feel that welcoming. Still, we decided to give it a fair shot. We tried the Blackberry & Apricot Sour and a Double IPA. I thought the IPA was just okay, but my wife didn’t enjoy it, and we both really didn’t care for the sour—the flavour just didn’t sit right. We even tried coming back another day to give it another chance and try their hot dogs and a flight, but when we walked in, we were told they wouldn’t be open until 4:00 PM (despite their usual hours saying 12:00 PM), and there was no notice about the change anywhere online. Also a bit strange that they close at 10:00 PM, especially for a brewery. We genuinely wanted to give this place a fair shake, but between the off atmosphere, lack of communication, and underwhelming drinks, it just didn’t work out for us. Hopefully others have a better experience!

Stopped by 2 Crows in a balmy Sunday after a tour at the Citadel. They have a dog friendly patio with a good amount of shade and a super friendly staff! Their beer is solid with a light earlier and some great sours! Highly recommend stopping in and checking this place out. Bonus: next door is a super cool ax throwing place. Great for a complete date night.

What a lovely stop on our Canada trip! Their dish washer was broken (only plastic cups) and the hot dog oven was broken (so no food) but we had the nicest chats with the bartender and the most competent beer discussions in a while. Thanks for a really lovely afternoon with chats and stories and amazing beers! 🧡

Taylor Head Provincial Park offers the stunning 8km loop Headland Trail, which provides breathtaking seaside views and opportunities for capturing beautiful landscape shots. The park features a white sandy beach with turquoise waters and a windswept peninsula offering coastal trails. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as picnic tables, changing houses, parking lot, and ample signage. Additionally, guided hikes are available in the summer and fall.
This is one of the nicest hikes I’ve ever been on. You have to go when the weather is right mind you. Spectacular scenery, total coastal zone immersion, a beautiful beach, and a moderately challenging hike. Its one of the nicest places I’ve been to in the world.

Excellent beach, known for its waves for boarding but also perfect for swimming. Water was a bit colder, but it's Sept 2024. Clean washrooms and change rooms, para access, and outdoor showers, big parking lot but no designated parking for RV or campers / trailers! I'd definitely like to come back, but maybe in a bit warmer weather. Outhouse, no washrooms with running water. There is advisory not to drink tap water that is available outside, usually to wash your feet if needed.

The park's natural beauty is truly remarkable, making it a superb destination for hiking through lush, green woods that stretch for 10-15 kilometers. The air is fresh and filled with oxygen. I highly recommend visiting during the summer months, especially from June to September, when the park is at its most beautiful. The hiking trails can be tricky and confusing at times, particularly if you miss the red flag markers that guide the path. It's important to follow these red tags on marked trees to stay on track. Additionally, bringing binoculars is a great idea to enjoy the views from various spots along the way. Hiking through these long trails in the woods is a fascinating and rewarding experience. It also have side beauty of beach view while hiking.

Beautiful beach, nice hard sand to walk on and crystal clear water. There are hiking trails and a picnic area here as well. Lots of space so you don’t feel crowded even if it’s busy. This is one of my favourite beaches in Nova Scotia. I only wish it was a little closer to HRM.

White sand beach in a sheltered cove. Clear, calm water. Bring your own food and drink. There are not many restaurants near the park. Hiking trails close to the beach. Bring bug spray and dress for ticks. Long dusty gravel road from highway to the beaches.
Cris B — Google review
We hiked this trail in early June. When we arrived, it was a beautiful warm sunny day. We started our hike at the beach end of the trail on the spray bay trail(Red markers) The trail was a bit muddy in places but you could navigate around these areas. By the time we reached the headland trail ( yellow markers) the fog had started rolling in and the temperature probably dropped about 5 degrees.. maybe more. However it really did add to the beauty of the hike. It felt like we were walking along the highlands of Scotland. I loved it. We experienced a few different climate changes. I did have a sweater with me, but wished I had also brought a hat with me. The fog was thick and cool, with a strong breeze. I would consider the trail to be moderate hiking. We hiked the the large loop in about 3 hours with a few breaks for snacks and pictures. I would hike this trail again. I loved it. It was a great challenge

Kind of a mini oasis of a calmer salt water beach. White sands and clear picturesque waters. The only thing is the water till august or late day may be the only time it will be swimmable for most. Water is exceptionally chilled 12-14 degrees until then so be prepared to be shocked at how cold it is. Few jelly fish floating around here and there nothing too serious. If I had a kayak or canoe this would be an ideal spot to visit. Please note the only washrooms are at the parking lot and there is a foot wash and change rooms as well. Parking may be limited. This beach is quite remote so expect a long drive and take stops where you can.

wow! i can’t believe i only discovered this place this summer! this is by far, my new favourite beach in all of nova scotia to swim at! taylor’s head beach is an amazing place to be, with white sand and crystal clear calm waters in a secluded bay! i just went here a weekend ago and i loved it so much, it had the warmth of a lake without the murky brown dead mush at the bottom and had the beauty of the ocean without relentless crashing waves - the best of both worlds! i bought a pretty expensive prescription snorkel mask so i could come back here and see all the sea life in the bay! there are beautiful hikes, washroom/change room facilities and lots information posts to learn about the wildlife in this beautiful park! i would recommend visiting this beach to anyone, the only downside is that it is a bit of a hassle to get to - an hour and a half or more from the city :( but it’s great to make a day trip out of it in the summer and visit the surrounding local markets and restaurants, as well as the ton of yard sales that are often going on in the weekend. i can’t wait to come back here!!!

Compass Distillers, located in North End Halifax, has gained recognition for its world-class spirits made from Nova Scotian-grown grains and other local ingredients. The distillery offers a unique experience with a bar serving custom cocktails and appetizers in a funky-looking steel tower. Known for its warm and intimate atmosphere, Compass Distillers is famous for the Aquavit Caesar cocktail.
Stopped by for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon. Our bartender was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made these delicious cocktails for us! We had a nice chat while the bartender worked and explained all the spirits to us. Very welcoming atmosphere and our drinks were delicious. Shout out to Owen, our bartender, who was lovely and also celebrating his birthday that day. :)

My partner and I love it here! The bartenders go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. On our most recent visit, they ran out of jagermeister. Instead of 86ing the cocktail, one of the staff members ran to the NSLC to purchase more (he was super quick!). In the interim, the old jager bottle was given to us at our table with a rose in it. Additionally, we asked for a cocktail that was no longer on the menu. Although it was milk-washed and that couldn't be replicated due to a recent cocktail menu change, the adorably-dressed female bartender made a very close iteration. In a city with cocktail bars abound, it is refreshing to see this level of detail and service. Keep up the amazing work, Compass!

Had a wonderful night at Compass Distillers. Their drinks and gin are super tasty, and I am not normally a gin gal. I had the Butterfly G&T, and the Beachfront Suite. They also had Venezuelan arepas as a treat from Popitos. The vibe was fun and chill, all of the stuff were super nice and friendly. I highly recommend! Cheers 🍸

Cute bar and distiller, the bartenders are quite knowledgeable about the drinks and they have a variety if different taste based ones. Aka ones that are sweet, savory, bitter. Their washroom makes you feel like you are in a ferry boat. The design of the interior is also quite cool.

Still my favorite place for a cocktail on the peninsula. The intimate setting can be a little distracting when it's not busy but when it's full it really feels great. Definitely include it on your list when you're on Agricola.

Jordan looked after my wife and I as we tried a couple of different flights, then accompanying beverages with our favourite choices. We’ll have shipped Pazzo amaro, Hell Isle Cask Reserve Rum Gun Gin, Gin wild and their Aperitivo. Two most favourited were the Aperitivo and the Hell Isle. He was very helpful in helping us decide. Thank you!

We entered the brewery at 5 on a Sunday, aside from 2 other people we were the only people there. We were soo fed up that we were standing up to leave, and ONLY THAN did the bartender take our order. We were sitting for another 10 minutes about to leave again, and only than did the bartender stare making the drinks. After we got the drinks the bartender had the GALL to tell us “you have to be out by 7” despite waiting close to an hour. (Can’t forget the mixing cups dropped like a drunk) In conclusion, worst brewery that I have ever been to and why we even stayed is a complete mystery. I’m never going back and recommend anyone to 10 kilometre radius, waist of a vacation.

My boyfriend and I had an absolutely amazingly wonderful time at yurt 10! We originally only booked for 2 nights but pushed it twice as I was just so peaceful and they truly make you feel like it’s a home away from home! We booked yurt 10 and got the package which included the use of the golf cart, kayaks, bikes to go in the trails, wood fired hot tub and sauna, as well as a tasting platter of absolutely outstanding alcohol such as their famous Virgo vodka, and wide selection of rum, whiskey, beers and ciders all crafted and made right there! I am looking forward to trying their wine when it’s ready I’m positive it’s going to be just as amazing as the rest of the selections. We had an exceptional amazing experience in the sauna as we were laying relaxing in sauna the speckled trout were jumping constantly as it is stocked by the owner and he feeds them. It was so peaceful and relaxing to have a sauna over the otter pond full of fish! When we arrived the hot tub was ready to be used and we were provided with 3 bags of wood/ kindling/ paper and were happy to provide us with more wood any time we asked throughout our stay they even delivered it to us. It was such a treat to have such delicious fresh ground coffee every morning! When we first got there the trail to our yurt was washed out due to a very heavy storm then after it cleared up they fixed the trail and it was much easier to drive the golf cart on. Just up from the yurt was our own private bathroom with a shower and a kitchenette in it. They nicely even provided female products just in case. And there was a sponge and dish soap provided as well as cutlery and plants and bowls. They even offered a laundry facility to the guests and it was coin operated but we were very thankful for that as it was nearing the end of our road trip and was needing to do laundry. We were even allowed to take the kayaks back to yurt 10 which is surrounded by ocean and has a beautiful view of the sunset, sunrise and while relaxing in hot tub there is a beautiful view of the moon rising and the stars! Just up the hill from yurt #10 they have bee hives and you might even see the bee keepers up there collecting their absolutely amazing honey which you can get in gift shop. They have a beautiful flower field with lots of beautiful area with fun painted and crafted chairs where you can just sit back and take in the beautiful nature around you! It was nice to stay in a place run off of solar power and wood stove. Kendra and Glenn are very friendly amazing people and always happy to see us their worker John was also very friendly and helpful with bringing our kayaks over and bringing us wood when we were getting low after the hours of the office he still helped us! When we had our tasting Kendra was very fun to chat with and told us a bit of the history of the alcohol my personal favourite is their Virgo vodka (the mermaid is what attracted me to the bottle) which is made with wheat and their maple rum my goodness their rum is outstanding! All in all Authentic sea coast yurt in the vineyard is a must see and stay if you have the chance you won’t regret it especially yurt #10 🙂

We stayed for three nights in yurt 10 and then one night at the DeBarres Manor house. We had an amazing experience. It was our first “Glamping” experience and it would be hard to top. It was serene. There is peace, quiet, and friendliness that is simply hard to find. Everyone we met, from the property owner Glynn and his daughter Kendra as well as Bonnie and the ladies that took excellent care of us at the Manor. The tastes from the brewery and distillery were amazing. We especially loved the Fortress rum as well as the variety of brews packaged in stunning, colorful and creative cans. We look forward to being able to purchase the products in the States! Thank you Authentic Seacoast!!

Visited with my Son from Ontario in early October. It was our first trip to the east coast and we had an amazing stay! We stayed in Distillery House which was perfect. The property is amazing even in Fall with so much to see. We cycled, hiked and kayaked all around Guysborough. John took care of our morning coffee and our sample flights of craft beer and helped us plan our day trip to Cape Breton, he is a wealth of information. Pio set us up with all the equipment for our activities and shared helpful info on the area. We had an amazing dinner at Desbarre Manor, Bonnie and Anne were very welcoming! Thank you all! We will absolutely return someday! Highly recommend a visit or a stay!

Stayed in the dog friendly yurts number 3 and 9 with our friends. Had a really great time there. The hottub and sauna still weren't running yet but there were lots of other things to do on the property and surrounding areas but if you were visiting in winter hopefully this will be ready by then. The yurts themselves were very spacious and clean. The property was meticulously maintained. I definitely plan to return this winter. My only criticism was they are a coffee roaster yet didn't have a barista to serve espresso based drinks or even a proper espresso machine. Seemed a little odd where they are in the business of roasting beans.

We had an amazing stay at Authentic Seacoast this weekend. The property is absolutely beautiful! Everyone we met ( Gerard, Robyn, John and Glen) were so friendly, accommodating and really made us feel at home. We stayed in yurt #3, thoroughly enjoyed the wood fired hot tub and the wood stove inside when it got chilly. We brought our dog who I think enjoyed it even more than we did! She was able to explore the vineyard and swim in the lake after sticks. We arrived home 2 hours ago and she hasn’t moved off her bed since. Make sure to try out the sauna over the pond and get a flight of rum from John! You will not regret your stay here.

Been here before and it was ok. Drove all the way here on a Saturday afternoon specifically to come to the Distillery and tap room. It’s not like this place is really on the way to anywhere, so it’s usually a trip just to come to the distillery. Arrived around 2:30 pm to find the place locked up tight despite that the website says they are open 7 days a week from 8am to 5 pm. Seems other reviewers have had similar experiences, so I guess the lesson learned is to call first to see if they will actually be open.

We missed our connecting flight and ended up booking last minute at the hotel. I shared the situation and the guest services advisor Maria made sure we had an amazing overnight stay by providing cheesecake and a handwritten card in the room. We also got an upgrade to the junior suite as per my Platinum benefits which made the experience so much better. The suite was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We had a great sleep. We also got a late check out which allowed us to nap before our flight in the evening. The hotel is situated next to the Halifax harbour which has many shops and restaurants as well as boat tours. Best location! I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

We just spent 5 nights at the Westin Nova Scotian. Fabulous place to stay, although it is at the far end of the Harbourfront, so a longer walk for older folk, like us. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Of special note were: Scott, Maksym, Sanath and Lily, in the bar; servers Cammy and Tracey in the Seaport Social restaurant (fabulous food, by the way!); Asmira from housekeeping. Thank you to them and the rest of the team (under the guidance of Glenn Bowie, general manager), who made our stay so memorable!

Second, Bellhops in particular very welcoming and friendly to our dogs, as was the general manager. Third, the waterfront location is great. Fourth, the bromine pool and whirlpool are perfect, as well as gym They just need to be open for a bit longer at night. Downsides: the room was small, as was the closet, which also has an auto-shut which is really inconvenient. The plumbing is outdated. Simple amenities that should be basic are: more hooks to hang clothing or towels, or add towel bars; more hangers; a microwave, and slippers. As well, the cards to open the rooms and use in elevators don’t read that well. As to atmosphere, this seems to have become more and more a convention centre, with constant large groups everywhere and in elevators. and hanging out in the lobby with their drinks, and loud parties tolerated there can be heard in the rooms, ostensibly allowed until midnight This is not the “experience “ or “wellness “ that Marriott touts. It isn’t elegant or restful and doesn’t provide a little extra, such as a complementary breakfast We enjoy the hotel especially because it is so welcoming for our nice dogs and puts us at a really lovely and tastefully developing waterfront. Westin and Marriott need to capitalize on guests’ appreciation for this city, which conventions will not care about

Currently staying here, staff have been great and the room and location are lovely. Just one constructive piece of feedback-please install EV chargers in your main parking lot. We picked your hotel as we thought we could use the one in front but it seems it’s for valet only! Other than that great spot!

I've stayed at the Westin Nova Scotian multiple times this year, and as someone who spends at least a third of my life in hotels, I've become particular about what makes a place worth returning to: solid value, actual comfort, walkability, and ideally, a restaurant that doesn't make you immediately search for alternatives. The Westin checks all those boxes—and throws in pet-friendliness for good measure. The hotel itself is beautiful, bright, and recently renovated. Well, almost everything. The fitness center requires navigating a peculiar elevator tucked away in what feels like a completely different building, as if the gym is in witness protection. But the rooms? Quiet, spacious, and outfitted with those signature Marriott down comforters that make leaving bed feel like a personal failure. The on-site restaurant is legitimately excellent—good enough that I eat there even when I'm not staying at the hotel. Breakfast is solid: the buffet does the job with a live omelet station and rotating options, but ordering from the menu gets you the real highlights, like seared duck frittata or what might be the best avocado toast in the city (smoked salmon, poached egg, the works). Happy hour is even better—dangerously so. My wife and I once ordered one of everything, assuming tapas-sized portions. They had to push another table over just to fit it all. The baos and mussels were standouts. The jackfruit? Once was enough. Parking is slightly odd—it's around the corner behind the building—but accessible via elevator, and conveniently shares space with the Hertz rental center. The building also houses a few independent vendors (spa services, boutiques, home decor consultants), though they're not formally part of the hotel. Location-wise, you couldn't ask for better: minutes from the waterfront, blocks from the city's best restaurants. A car here is optional at best. If you're Marriott Platinum Elite or higher, upgrades are surprisingly easy to snag, even during summer, unless there's a major convention in town. There are only a handful of hotels in the world I'd return to without hesitation. The Westin Nova Scotian is one of them. In fact, my experience here was good enough that it played a part in why I moved to Halifax.

We spent four nights at this hotel with three adults and were only partially satisfied. Upon arrival, the lady at the reception desk was unfriendly. We were neither greeted nor shown any form of sympathy. We had booked breakfast for all days via booking.com. We were given vouchers for two adults and two children. When I complained, I was told that this was always the case and that we should clarify with the restaurant ourselves whether two children count as one additional adult. I felt stupid and started to ask questions. The receptionist explained to me that breakfast can only ever be booked in combination with children and that it was our fault. After a lengthy discussion, we were finally issued vouchers for three people. Overall, the room was dark and musty, with an unlit storage room for suitcases and a wardrobe. It certainly couldn't be described as beautiful at least it was clean. The “highlight” was the breakfast. In principle, it was delicious and the room was very nice. However, there was an incident: I was standing at the omelet station when suddenly a mouse climbed down the curtain next to the chef. Mind you, in the breakfast room with an open buffet?! After pointing this out, several employees were called and supposedly set traps. Especially with open food, something like this should not happen. This is a serious hygiene problem and not acceptable! We will not be returning to this hotel or recommend it.

Had a wonderful stay. Our harbour view room was spacious and exceptionally clean, giving us ample views of the 6 cruise ships docking in port. Front desk and valet were courteous, helpful and professional. Our servers at Happy Hour, dinner and breakfast were attentive to our dining needs. Our only complaint was that the food at the breakfast buffet was luke warm at best.

I was disappointed with the quality of my room during my stay at The Westin Nova Scotian. The room felt clean but there were several elements that felt dated and below the "typical" Westin standards. The food and service in the hospitality spaces were great. I had very positive experiences with the restaurant and room service staff. The location was perfect - very accessible to downtown attractions, food, and activities.

The Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is a modern property located on the iconic waterfront of downtown Halifax. It offers stunning views and easy access to the vibrant boardwalk, shops, and restaurants. The hotel's surroundings include historic buildings and contemporary landmarks, creating a picturesque skyline. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a restaurant, bar, indoor pool, and spa. With its newly renovated accommodations, this hotel provides an ideal base for exploring Nova Scotia's bustling capital city.
Although our stay was short, it was absolutely memorable. The staff catered to our every need and made us feel truly important and well taken care of. The entire facility was spotless, and our room was in great condition—comfortable and well-maintained. We especially appreciated how family-friendly everything was. The pool was the perfect temperature for little ones, and the hotel clearly puts thought into accommodating guests with children. We also enjoyed the on-site dining options, which were convenient and delicious. To top it all off, the view was spectacular. Overall, it was a warm, clean, and inviting experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the BEST mariott experience I have ever had after being an avid Mariott customer since childhood. The reason: the amazing people who work here!! The QUEEN here is Renata from the M lounge; I have never met someone so sweet, humble and friendly! She literally single-handedly made our 8-day stay phenomenonal. The joy she gave to our toddler was unprecedented and her gentle manner and games will always be remembered. Another really valuable member of the team we want to give credit to is Ayman from the front desk who made our stay so enjoyable with a nice welcome to Halifax and Nova Scotia and was always available when we had questions and concerns! We also want to give a shout out to Angelica, Jenn, Yoshida and Naomi from the M lounge, who were always smiling and ready to serve us. The Halifax harbourfront mariott M lounge is literally the best club lounge we have ever been to! It allowed for an-inclusive experience, with excellent breakfast and dinner hours (6:30-11:30 and 4-10pm), great variety of food, and tons of snacks and drinks all the time. I think the part we really appreciated was the consideration: to-go biodegradable boxes and bags and everyone being so sweet about taking our left-overs. The pool was excellent - we swam daily! The temperature of the pool area and water was very comfortable. A few suggestions to make the experience even better: clean the pool area floor twice daily to prevent dust/dirt from getting into water, increase the temperature of the changing area (literally freezing) and make the whirlpool less hot. The check in service given by Ayman, SK and Riley were really appreciated. The check-in for kids and the scavenger hunt is so cute and appreciated! It gave our toddler such a wonderful experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Harbourfront. The newly opened M Lounge was a highlight — it was so convenient having access to snacks throughout the day and a nice breakfast in the morning. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The only downside was that the hot tub was closed during my visit, which would have been a nice bonus. Overall, a comfortable stay in a great spot on the waterfront.
Jina B — Google review
Our room was nothing fancy, but clean and housekeeping did a good job keeping the room tidy and stocked with water and fresh towels. The location was perfect, right on the Harbour and walking distance to a ton of restaurants and things to do. The gym had plenty of equipment to use.

What can we say. My husband and I stayed here on our recent vacation. It was fantastic. Our suite was stunningly beautiful. A dining area, dishwasher, fridge, separate from our sleeping area was so nice. The sleeping, seating area was set up perfectly. The shower was so fantastic. Lots to see, and do in the area. The breakfast was SO delicious, and SO much food. Shout out to the front desk staff, and the cleaning lady. They were there for us with information, questions, addressing everything we inquired about. We would highly suggest to stay here in a suite if you are in this area. Thank you so much for a fabulous, wonderful stay during our vacation.

We were able to check in early, which was a nice surprise. Our room had a beautiful waterfront view and was very spacious with a massive closet, which I absolutely loved! The bed was super big and incredibly comfortable. The hotel also had a great gym with Peloton bikes and a solid selection of weightlifting equipment. The coffee bar was a nice touch, though it closed at 2 p.m. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!

We never received our Bon Voy points for my 3 nights stay at Halifax Harbourfront. A week after my stay, my booking and the history for nights I stayed disappeared from our Bon Voy account. I called Bon Voy centre for clarification and explained we booked my stay through my husband’s account and had also called the hotel prior to stay to confirm the booking. The lady at Bon Voy centre confirmed it takes two or three weeks for the hotel to submit points to Bon Voy and sometimes hotel removes and then returns the days stayed due to accounting to include any expenses from the restaurants etc. She assured we will receive our points in two or three weeks from my call and she can see my reservation number and payment history in their file etc. When I was booking my stay through my spouse’s Bon Voy account, I also called for a possible early check in since my flight was arriving early and I was travelling for over 18 hours. The hotel told me my husband needs to call and confirm he is booking the room for me , which he did. They never mentioned my spouse also needs to stay at the hotel to earn Bon Voy points and the hotel certainly had no issue I booked my stay through my spouse account. When I arrived the day at the hotel, the lady at the reception was not welcoming and she was not clear if she wants to submit my stay to Bon Voy since my husband did not accompanied me upon arrival .When I explained the whole process and asked her about the pints status she said she left it to Bon Voy team to decide. This is not a transparent approach. I would certainly choose another hotel or chain for my stay if the hotel would let me know in advance points are not going to be granted. We stay at least 30 days in Marriott hotels in Canada and outside countries from upscale to overnight stays in their airport hotels. Last summer, an Autograph hotel also did not grant the points for a room we booked for a week and paid for our parents stay when we visited oversees and stayed the same hotel with them. All we needed and expected was transparency. Thank you!

The amazing location of this beautiful hotel has been matched with the friendly and accommodating staff. One of the best well-maintained indoor pools within Canada and the top notch gym made our stay even more enjoyable. Our relaxing vacations were made possible by the diligence and devotion of Renata, Kayla and Jeff. (Among many others) Keep up the great hospitality!

The Algonquin Resort St. Andrews by-the-Sea, Autograph Collection is a luxurious and historic resort in St. Andrews, NB. It offers elegant and contemporary air-conditioned rooms with balconies, kitchenettes, and work desks. The resort features a sophisticated restaurant/bar, spa, pools, and modern amenities.
The Algonquin Resort offers that rare opportunity to truly feel pampered. From the moment you arrive, you’re invited to slow down and take in both the elegance of the property and the wealth of experiences right at your fingertips. Whether it’s a refreshing swim, a match of tennis, or hopping on one of the bikes for a spin into town, the estate encourages you to make the most of your stay. Its location is equally charming, just a short stroll brings you to the water’s edge, boutique shops, and plenty of opportunities to explore Saint Andrews on foot if you’re so inclined. And then there’s the Sunday breakfast buffet: a generous spread with something for everyone, perfect for indulging a little while also fueling up for the day ahead. A stay here strikes that wonderful balance between luxury, activity, and connection to the town’s coastal charm.

The Algonquin is a true New Brunswick gem that blends rich history with modern comfort. First opening in 1889, the “Castle-by-the-Sea” has been beautifully restored and still carries its old-world charm while offering all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury resort. The setting is spectacular, with sweeping views of Passamaquoddy Bay and manicured grounds that make it a perfect place to relax. It’s only a short walk or shuttle ride to downtown St. Andrews, where you’ll find shops, galleries, and local attractions — but the resort has so much to offer that you don’t need to leave to enjoy yourself. Dining is a highlight here. I especially enjoyed Braxton’s Restaurant & Bar and the Right Whale Pub, both of which feature fresh local ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. The food and drink options strike a great balance between casual and refined, and there’s something to suit every mood. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Incredibly friendly and attentive, they made the stay feel special from start to finish. Whether it was at the front desk, in the restaurants, or simply passing by in the halls, the warmth of the team really added to the experience. Between the history, the views, the restaurants, and the staff, the Algonquin truly delivers a memorable stay. It’s a must-visit when in St. Andrews.

What can say about the Algonquin that hasnt been said already..it's home away from home. The first greetings of the kilted doorman, to the roaring cozy fireplaces at both ends of the gathering room, warmth and inviting. Food service and quality is impeccable. Hotel staff was prompt and courteous. Only reason it's short of a five star is the Resort Fee and Tourism charge per day..I fail to see the reasoning behind this since I'm local, and Resort title falls short on what I consider a resort.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the newly renovated Algonquin Resort. The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly helpful. Our room was modern and comfortable, and the personal terrace added a special touch to the experience. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The resort blends charm with modern amenities, and the staff made us feel right at home. A truly memorable getaway!

The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every need is met with a smile. The accommodations are luxurious and comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The dining options are exceptional, with a menu featuring fresh, local ingredients that truly elevate the culinary experience. Whether you’re enjoying a relaxing spa day or taking a stroll along the picturesque grounds, The Algonquin Resort truly has it all. It’s a five-star destination that effortlessly combines elegance, comfort, and stunning scenery. Highly recommended!

Old style resort that has been impeccably maintained over the years. Feels like we are back in the Victorian era but with all the modern touches. They have e-bikes available and a shuttle to get you down to the downtown area. Restaurant was very good and the grounds were beautiful. Keep in mind that this is a resort so there is a daily resort fee, which was $25 when we were here in early October.

This iconic property has stood the test of time through careful, attentive staff, updates and planning. Location can’t be beat. Front veranda area and many other great spots on this property to sip your favorite drink. Bar service at outdoor pool for frozen drinks etc is awesome. Indoor pool and fitness great too. The gentleman who cleans the common areas like the lobby has been there for years and the pride in his work shows. I always enjoy chatting with him. People like him make this place what it is - special.

Oak Island is a private island connected to the mainland by a causeway, located just an hour from Halifax. It has gained global fame for its Money Pit, which is believed to hold one of the world's most elusive treasures. The island has been featured on the reality TV show 'Curse of Oak Island' since 2014, and guided tours led by series cast member Charles Barkhouse offer visitors insight into the island's intrigue and mystery.
I have wanted to visit the island since I was a young boy. The history channel was filming with the Lagina’s on June 23rd. I was touring Nova Scotia and decided to pay a quick visit. It’s amazing to think of the history in that island that they are uncovering every year.

We have been watching the curse of oak island for many seasons and were very excited to to pass by the island while we were in town. We were only able to cross the first causeway before we were stopped by the film crew..They are filming the 12th season. The crew member was very nice and let us take a picture with the monument.

Had a tour today with a few Masonic Brothers of Keith Lodge. Had the absolute pleasure to meet Charles as he was the tour guide. His informative and knowledge base was superb. He was friendly and answered all questions asked and the wives commented on how well he spoke and he kept us very entertained with his knowledge. From the “war room” to the money pit etc was amazing. A total “must” visit for anyone who follows the show. Thank you.

Very interesting place for sure! Only able to go over the 1st causeway, but thinking about the amount of people that have been here as far back as the 800’s AD is fascinating and cool too!

Not really worth the price ($100/pers) but was a nice experience. Charles was our tour guide, did fantastic job. Tour ride was on two electric trolleys which is good otherwise would be a very long walk. We're from the area so unless your a big fan and watch the show the guided tour presentation story is great but not a whole lot to see until last 30min. Which is what you see on TV.

The lodge also features a conference center, indoor pool, and on-site dining offering local cuisine made with fresh ingredients.
We spent two nights here and had a good time. Food is pricey but delicious and huge portions. Kids eat free which is nice. Facilities and buildings could certainly use some upgrades and a deep cleaning. But my bed was clean and comfortable, and the stunning views and unique landscaping made it a great experience. There's a lot to explore on this property, every time we went for a walk we would find something new! The farm animals are so sweet and a big hit with my kids.

Our room was very clean, comfortable and decorated beautifully. The restaurant has excellent service and delicious menu choices. The breakfast buffet was exemplary. The grounds are beautifully looked after and we enjoyed the farm animals. Our favorite thing was the pontoon boat tour with our guide Chester. He was incredibly knowledgeable and gregarious. Every staff member we came in contact with provided exceptional service and are worth their weight in gold! Can't wait to return.

It's a long established hotel, so the rooms are a little old fashioned - but perfectly clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony, pictured, more than made up for minor deficiencies. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and efficient. The dinner was the best we've had in the last 2 weeks.

Our favourite resort in Nova Scotia! We travel around Nova Scotia a lot and have been meaning to stay here for a while. We finally did, and it did not disappoint. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of work into the resort over the past few years. While there’s still more to come, it’s already fantastic. The restaurant was excellent, with great service and delicious food. They were very accommodating of my wife, who has celiac disease. The fall menu offered plenty of options, and they even created a custom meal using several dishes to accommodate her allergy and preferences. You can’t beat the views around the property or from the balconies of the riverside rooms. My wife also loved seeing all the animals they now have on site. It was such a nice touch!

Attended a wedding here. Although it was a far drive from the city, the venue was worth it. Gorgeous property on a river with lots of family friendly attractions and amenities. Wish we extended our stay for the weekend as I hadn’t known the number of things the lodge offers. Trails surround the lodge along with tennis court, basketball court, petting zoo, indoor swimming pool and sauna. Aside from the stunning view of the water, the lodge offers paddle boards, canoes and boat tours. The wedding food was absolutely delicious, and the breakfast buffet (although pricey) was also incredible. Looking forward to going back sometime as a family getaway. Please note there is no cell service, wifi only. ( I personally found it a bonus!)

All round, it is a lovely place. The location is beautiful, the staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the food was good. I was very fortunate to see the fall colours when they were perfect. The water way, otters and birds were could be seen from my patio.

The words, rustic and charming, are the first that come to mind. We stayed in a chalet which was clean but is much need of updating. The view from the front porch made for beautiful pictures. We did have a challenge finding the chalet as the directions were lacking in that you had to go back out onto the road and down aways.
