One of the finest architecture in world. Majestic and beautiful. This place exudes omani grandeur and is a mixture of Islamic architectures all over world. Women need to cover head and dress appropriately to cover the whole body. Men should avoid shorts. Non muslims can enter only 8 AM to 11 AM except Friday. Take atleast 1.5 hours in hand to explore the palace and garden. Main done is behind the small done. Make sure to have a water bottle as lots of things to be explored. By 11:30 guards start preparing the place for namaz prayer. It looks excellent in night from outside. Muslims can enter any time for prayer

Beautiful mosque. Built between 1994 and 2001 on a previously free land from the will of the sultan in order to give to Muscat the right place to pray between tradition and modernity. The outside is big with fountains, plants and flowers. Then there is the mosque, outside is magnificent and beautiful to admire with his Carrara's marble (always cleaned and polished), towers and structures. The inside is beautiful too with a chandelier of 8 tons and a beautiful Iranian carpet. A different with other mosque I saw is that here is not possibile to sit and some area of the mosque are fenced. It's possible to roam outside though the halls that are really nice through the morning light (inside, the mosque is open only from 8 to 11). The entrance is free, and the clothes must be respectful.

The mosque is the definition of magnificient!!!! The grand mosque is just too beautiful , you cant imagine or can see the true beauty from images or videos, perdonally visit this mosque and feel it. Womens can also visit it but only before 11Am also with modest dressing. So keep in mind before visiting. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at The Chedi — it was so peaceful that we never even felt the need to leave the resort! The grounds are beautifully spacious, and even though the hotel appeared to be fully booked, it never felt crowded. There was always plenty of space at all three pools and restaurants, which made our stay even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Pandiyan, who took such great care of us by the pool with thoughtful touches like refreshing fruit skewers, and to Mirat, who made our breakfasts delightful and my birthday dinner at the beach restaurant truly memorable. Their genuine warmth and attention made our stay exceptional.

The entire team was exceptionally friendly and attentive - from the servers to the cleaning staff, everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. A special mention to Pandiyan, who took such great care of us by the pool. He served our food and drinks with genuine warmth and a constant smile. His thoughtful and professional service made our time by the pool truly relaxing and enjoyable.

We had a few small issues at check-in, but the manager resolved everything quickly within the first 24 hours, and from then on our stay was absolutely perfect. The food at the main restaurant was excellent throughout our stay, and the staff there were consistently attentive and welcoming, which made every meal a real pleasure. But the absolute highlight of our experience was Pandiyan at the Serai Pool. He went far beyond what we could have expected – always attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. His care and attention made us feel so well looked after, and he was a big part of why our stay was so memorable.

We had an incredible stay at the Chedi. The design and landscaping at this hotel are timeless and I can see us returning for many years to come. The brunch was excellent value, but in general I would say the F&B prices are very high for the quality. A special shout out to the amazing staff who were honestly faultless - particularly Pandiyan at the beach who really went above and beyond to make us feel special.

Went for a pool day with a daily pass and loved it! The pool is stunning, with direct beach access. They also have a sauna, steam room, and a fully equipped gym. Everything else is great, just the food could use some improvement. Overall, a really nice spot to relax for the day.

We had an amazing stay at this Amazing Hotel (the best 5 star in Oman)! The location is perfect — right by the sea, peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are stylish, clean, and very comfortable, with great attention to detail. As the founder of UEvents Global, we requested to host a lunch at the beach restaurant for our 120-guest wedding in Oman. We worked closely with Mr. Deepak Sharma and Mr. Mohammad Khaleel from the F&B team, and throughout the entire process we were genuinely amazed by their professionalism, support, service, and warm personalities. They accommodated every request with complete flexibility, and the food and hospitality for the post-wedding brunch were outstanding. My experience with Mr. Deepak, in particular, was exceptional — he is one of the most genuine gentlemen I have met in my 20-year career. This was a true learning lesson for anyone in the service industry: when people care, it shows. We felt genuinely valued and incredibly well taken care of.

The stay was amazing. The place was very quiet, which made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The booking included free access to the family beach, pool, a small kids water park, and also a ladies beach. Breakfast was impressive, offering a wide variety of food from different regions to suit all tastes. There are also small convenience shops on-site, which was very handy. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly. I really appreciated the welcoming gesture of coffee and dates upon arrival. The only downside is that the hotel is located about 30 minutes away from the center of Muscat, so taxi rides can be a bit pricey.

I booked the resort day pass for 20 OMR, which includes 10 OMR credit to use at the Blu Bar. The staff were very cooperative, and the experience was excellent! You get unlimited water and towels, plus full access to all the pools and the private beach, basically everything outdoors. There are also showers and changing rooms (no lockers though). I had a really relaxing day, definitely worth it!

The pool area is inviting, and the staff are very attentive and accommodating. A crucial aspect that could set this hotel apart in the long term is its environmental responsibility. The hotel’s private reef is a unique and valuable asset. Protecting it from destructive fishing practices, such as trawling with nets, would not only preserve the natural beauty and marine life but also establish the hotel as a leader in eco-tourism. By actively promoting sustainable practices and safeguarding the marine ecosystem, the hotel could create a distinctive identity among the region’s five-star properties and provide a truly responsible and forward-thinking experience for guests. Developing eco-tourism initiatives here would offer enormous potential: from guided snorkeling tours that respect the reef, to educational programs about marine conservation. Such measures would ensure that the pristine environment remains intact for future visitors and provide a meaningful, sustainable experience that aligns with global trends in responsible travel. I had a wonderful experience at Al Bustan Palace Hotel. The atmosphere is truly elegant and relaxing, and the hotel offers an exceptional combination of luxury and comfort. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed with a stunning view. The service was fast and efficient, and everything was organized perfectly. The restaurant was another highlight — the food was delicious, fresh, and offered great variety. The breakfast buffet had many options to choose from, and the dining experience was excellent thanks to the attentive staff and pleasant ambiance. Rooms are pretty small for the price tag' and the walls are very thin from room to the hallways. Over all a decent hotel good breakfast its just not worth the price tag. Also this is good to keep in mind at any hotel in Oman if you ask the concierge to get you a can it will be 3 times what it should be as the taxi system is designed to absolutely rip of tourist. Always us the taxi app and walk off property of you have to it will save you between 25 and 75 usd per ride.

Everything in the hotel lobby is lovely. It would be great to have more staff available to serve the café visitors. By the way, the baked cheesecake is absolutely delicious! The staff member was good, but she didn’t notice that there were no tissues on the table. Also, the restroom cleanliness could use a bit more attention.

We had a wonderful visit to Mutrah Corniche, now even more delightful with the new musical fountain that adds charm for evenings. It’s an ideal hangout spot for families and kids, offering scenic sea views, artful walkways, and soothing music that enhances the atmosphere. The well-maintained promenade is perfect for strolling, relaxing, and enjoying the coastal breeze. Just a heads-up: parking can be quite difficult during weekend rush hours, so visiting by taxi or earlier in the day is a good idea. Overall, a lovely family-friendly destination with views and entertainment for all ages.

That’s crazy old. Feels like I am at 1940. There are Indians trading everywhere. And Foreigners who are buying. Old fashioned shop. Clean only where is trading, if you come beyond the market it’s so dirty and dark. It’s safe, no worries at all. For experience it’s nice. Prices are highly overpriced and goods are there over-old and not fresh. Maybe some shops are genuine, you may bargain and get things really cheap. Very boring place. Cafes there don’t have any customer service. However it’s a heritage and it’s somehow beautiful and entertaining. There is gold market. Fancy and excited.

The place looked beautiful with all the lights during the night time, but the only issue we faced was parking… it was hard to find a spot on the weekend. However, if you go a bit further, there’s a large parking area near the musical fountain.

Al Alam Palace is one of the main official residences of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and stands as an important symbol of Oman’s governance and history. The original structure was built over 200 years ago by Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, and the current palace was rebuilt in 1972. The building features a distinctive blue and gold facade and is framed by the historic Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali, dating back to the 16th century. Together, they form a setting that reflects both Muscat’s defensive past and its modern architectural identity. Although the palace is not open to visitors, the public area in front of it offers a clear view and is well maintained. The walkway leading to the gates is clean and organized, making it a pleasant short visit, especially for those interested in Omani history and culture. A brief stop here provides a good sense of the country’s royal heritage and the surrounding Old Muscat area.

Al Alam Palace is must visit place in Muscat. No entry inside the palace allowed but view from the outside is great too. This place represents the traditional architecture, surrounded by greenery and hills. I enjoyed walking near the palace despite it was hot afternoon.

We visited Al Alam Palace in Muscat, and while we didn’t get to go inside, the exterior was still an impressive sight. Built in the 1970s, Al Alam Palace serves as the ceremonial palace of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Oman’s current ruler. The palace stands as a symbol of Oman's heritage, with its stunning blend of traditional Islamic and modern architectural styles. The blue and gold accents on the façade are especially striking and contrast beautifully with the surrounding natural landscape, including the rugged hills and tranquil water nearby. The palace is located in a picturesque area, right next to the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts, which add to its historic significance. The surrounding gardens and the views of the coastline make it an ideal spot for photos and a peaceful visit, but unfortunately, access to the interior is restricted. While you can’t go inside, it’s still worth stopping by to admire the architecture and learn a bit about Oman's history and royal heritage. The palace has long been a symbol of Oman’s modernization and continued stability, and while we could only view it from the outside, it’s clear why it holds such importance. The National Museum of Oman is located just opposite to the main entrance.

Al Alam Palace is the ceremonial palace of the Sultan of Oman and used welcoming foreign dignitaries and heads of state etc. Visited it from outside. The striking blue color of the palace makes it special, that is visible from a distance. Pictures can be taken both from the front and the back.

This historic fort is very old and reflects the rich heritage of the country. Visitors need to climb stairs to explore it, but it’s worth the effort. The inside of the fort is fascinating, and the view from the top is truly stunning.

Easy to get to, not massive so a quick tour is all you need. Great views and a dinky little coffee shop near the top. Nice experience overall. It's really about the view, not much to do within the fort itself, maybe most of that has been locked off?

It’s a peaceful and photogenic spot, perfect for a quick visit while exploring Old Muscat. The souk is nearby.. in the fort they don’t allow water bottles which was disappointing.. the fort is best during sunsent time..

This fort is basically Oman’s way of saying, “We’ve got walls, and we know how to use them.” Climb up and you get a killer view of the harbor and corniche—perfect for pretending you’re starring in a historical epic. The walls are old, the stones are impressive, and the history whispers (or maybe shouts) at you from every corner. Pro tip: wear comfy shoes unless you enjoy feeling like a medieval mountain goat.

Beautiful place with lots of history. I recommend you go during December or during the winter month because they have lots of activities there and live music. The history is amazing. The scenes are amazing. The weather in winter time is amazing. And thr Omani people are amazing. This is my 6th time visiting and I always come back here.

bought a ticket right at the entrance using a mastercard for 3.3 omr which equates to $8.57 usd. they don’t accept amex. well worth it imo. the views are beyond amazing. all the way at the top during sunset is so magical. if you come definitely come during the sunset.

I had the pleasure of visiting Muttrah fort recently, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The historical charm of the fort was truly captivating, and I found myself completely immersed in its rich history. We had a wonderful time during our stay in Muscat. Hotel has a wonderful atmosphere. For a 5 star hotel the rooms were a bit bland. Location is great on the beach but have to travel south for many of the attractions. Staff is amazing and attentive and the Spa is great with really good offers! The gym is first class - large and fully equipped. Breakfast buffet is amazing and with all sorts of foods.

Recently returned from a 10 night stay at this fabulous hotel. Everything was perfect, the hotel itself, rooms, pool, beach, food was wonderful. However, it is the staff who make a hotel & all staff at this hotel were fantastic. EVERY member of staff was genuinely friendly, helpful, interested in us & always remembered us & our preferences. We spent at lot of time at Zale so particular mention & thanks to all staff there. Again we spent a lot of time at the pool so a huge thank you to all pool staff. Great service from all staff. Azim was our room attendant. Brilliant Dorai and Abbas on the beach were always there to set up sun beds and bring us water. Onder, the chef , cooked fantastic food. Don't expect to go home hungry !! Aung, Jay and all the waiters and waitresses were so friendly. Finally a huge thank to Jamie Zhang, front desk manager who made us so welcome on our return to Kempinski Al Mouj. I cannot fault this hotel. Possibly one of the friendliest and best in the world.

Amazing stay at Kempinski Muscat ! Amit in the Kitchen restaurant led by example along with Mr Ali, Aishwariya and Chandri. Schola and Jaz were also very attentive. Amit is their standout colleague though and was always at hand for advice and making us feel at home. Thank you Amit and team ! Food amazing at all outlets (chef Sanjeev ensuring the best food quality food and helped accommodate special requests) , kids pool had great shade for the kids. Large well maintained property. Absolutely wonderful hotel! The service is impeccable, and the staff truly go above and beyond. The room service team, especially Younus and Jaju, were amazing — they made sure our room was perfectly prepared every day and even surprised our son with creative towel designs each evening. It made our stay extra special! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Muscat, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.

This museum definitely was the most attractive place I visited during my journey in Oman. If you wanna know about the Omani culture and principles don’t hesitate to visit this place. The staff are very welcome and also knowledgeable and you can feel free to ask them anything about the museum.

I was here today and spent a couple of hours in the somewhat sprawling complex. I found the Omani artefact displays interesting and I really appreciated the English placards explaining the history of men and women dress, frankincense, jewellery and other ethnographic aspects. The art in one gallery wasn’t to my taste (especially the AI “art” ugh and sadly only one floor of a three story art gallery was open. So I dinked a star for that bc I shouldn’t have to pay full admission fee - a whopping 9 euros!- with closed exhibits. That said, the model village outside is adorable and the old photos and prints of Muscat from a century and older are fascinating. The restaurant and café on site are a bit expensive. But staff was overall lovely, and I’m grateful they let me leave a bag at the front desk. I’d still recommend this place to get a good sense of Omani cultures and history.

Bait Al Zubair Museum is a masterpiece for those who wish to understand the history and culture of Oman. We had the pleasure to discover this outstanding museum with the amazing tour guide called Hassan. He is so passionate on delivering all what is related to Omani history & culture in an easy & interesting way. All the members of the group like his explanation. We were able to have a closer look at jewellery, Khanjars, Omani traditional clothes & stamps. We had the chance to see Gallery Sarah, which is new section at this museum. We appreciate the warm welcoming at the museum & delivering the beauty of Oman in an amazing way. Tickets are needed to enter the museum - you can get from the reception there.

This museum opens early -9am. It was worth coming to visit before strolling to National Museum of Oman. It has slightly different aspect on the history and personal artefacts displayed.

This gate marks the western entrance to the old city. Historic accounts mention in 1624 the building of an earthen land wall was started. Previously the city was mainly protected by two forts at the sea side that was most vulnerable to attack by Ottomans and Portuguese. The latter after having established their power in Muscat were challenged by Omani tribes living in the interior (landside). in 1650 the Portuguese were ousted. What started as an earthen wall was upgraded through the ages. The gate structure houses a museum on the upper floor.We could not enter as the venue was closed. The views from the Gate were good. We returned a couple of hours later and the facility was still closed.

This is not so big museum but it's a gem. We totally enjoyed it there. The sitting place under the tree was heavenly. Cool breeze from the sea was mind blowing weather. Although no one was there, gate was open, we went inside, but lights were off, couldn’t find switches to turn it on. Recommend if you have enough time in Muscat.

It has nice ambience for evening walk/family outing ...... But we cannot access the museum in the evenings/weekends/Public holidays, as it is working only on weekdays from 8am to 2pm...... So we may have to take a day off to visit the places which are accessible only on weekdays (we have many places like this in oman.... esp forts and museums ....where expatriates cannot go on holidays)

This beach is truly a gem! It's incredibly lively, with people of all ages enjoying themselves. You can hear the laughter of children building sandcastles, the cheerful chatter of families having picnics, and the energetic music from beach volleyball games. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it easy to get into the holiday spirit.

It was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. The sound of the ocean was soothing the soul as well as watching people enjoying themselves on the beach by playing football. The scenery was indescribable beautiful and I was taken a back of the beauty. This is a beautiful stretch of sand, extending for about 5km. When we visited there in the evening were no loungers or umbrellas, nothing on the beach at all to help you relax. It was a lovely stroll and very picturesque as well as being shallow so you could stand up 50m out into the water. There are number of eateries and cafes along the beach and even shopping centers. The Qurum beach is located in an up market place of Muscat where most of the 5 star hotels are housed along the waterfront. Really beautiful evening place to stroll. But be careful to dress modesty.

It was also a nice surprise to have access to free internet throughout the visit, which made it convenient to look up more information or share the experience in real time. Another great feature is that photography is allowed, which meant I could capture and keep memories of some of my favorite displays. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking to understand more about Oman’s identity, this museum is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended for visitors of all ages.

The National Museum is located right in front of Al Alam Palace, making the entire area a beautiful and well-maintained spot in Muscat. The surroundings are perfect for a leisurely walk, photography, and soaking in the city’s royal and cultural ambiance. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to visit inside the museum, but it’s known for its impressive collection of Omani artifacts, heritage exhibits, and historical displays — definitely worth a visit if you have more time.

Great historical site with fantastic views over the sea and Old Muscat. The fort is well preserved and you can walk inside to explore its old structure and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Staff were helpful and informative. It’s not very large, so the visit doesn’t take long, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re in the area. A solid cultural stop—just wish there was a bit more signage or detailed info inside.

The entry fee is 4 OMR a bit high, but the fort is really well organized and worth a visit. You’ll need about 40 minutes to explore the whole place. There’s also a nice coffee shop on top with marvelous views. perfect spot to relax and take it all in!

It has nice view of Arabian sea, sultan palace and other fort, however there is nothing to see inside the fort. You can finish the fort in 10 min and entry charges are 11 riyal. It is too expensive.

Al Mirani castle is situated near Al Alam Royal palace, Muscat. It was built in the 1580s by the Portuguese to defend Muscat's coastline. The place is known for Architectural Marvels and its thick walls and watchtowers. Good parking space. Make a visit for an enchanting view of the Palace, sea with mountains !!!

The views are great. The elevators make it easy as well for people with reduced mobility. The 5.5 omr ticket per adult resident is too much. (The 5y old went free). Best timing 1h before sunset to get all the different settings. You dont need more than 1h up there unless there is an event. There was a nice breeze

Rooms are big and impeccably clean. Mini bar is always full and replenished daily; you can drink and eat everything in the mini bar. The room we got has an excellent view of the sea. There's so many restaurants to choose from, as there are three main properties located next to each other. Food is excellent, including the breakfast spread. There's really nothing to complain about, in my opinion.

It was the perfect getaway to unwind and take a break from work. Shangri-La will always hold a special place in my heart for providing the comfort and relaxation I truly needed. A big thanks to Anne for being very approachable and flexible with all my requests from prior my arrival and throughout my stay. Her attentiveness made my experience seamless and enjoyable. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Mostafa, whom I met during check-out and checked my entire experience. He listened carefully to my feedback and took immediate action which I truly value. Thank you once again for the warm hospitality as always.

Hotel is nice and scenic. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Overall all service is certainly below the average for similar luxury hotels more specifically in the F&B. We were group of 10 people and tried multiple restaurants. Although we always go with bookings and pre agreed set menus yet the starter takes about 45 minutes to be served. Our experience in the sea food restaurant was not good in terms of delay yet at the Italian restaurant it was extremely horrible where some of us left before they get their main course (we had to wait more than 2 hours for the main course). We tried to speak to the Italian restaurant manager but he did not bother answering us.

This was our second visit to Al Husn and once again the experience was exceptional. Special thanks to Mostafa (General Manager) for his leadership and hospitality, Anne at the front desk for her professionalism, and Said for his consistently excellent service by the pool. Also a big thank-you to Hardik, Pankaj, and Manu from the pool and dining areas – all of them went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The resort remains our favourite in Oman for its beautiful setting, calm atmosphere, and the genuine warmth of the team. We can’t wait to return.

Hello, I was invited by a friend in this hotel. It was amazing, room very clean and breakfast too. We took the option Afternoon Tea at 25 OMR but we didn’t like. It’s a little ridiculous this afternoon tea because you get just some around 4 little fingers food not really luxury. I can make by myself some of them. The view is beautiful but don’t take tea time. We still think about Oman at least once a week. This hotel embodied the warmth and hospitality the country is so well known for. Our first week there was wonderfully comfortable and relaxing — the perfect start to our journey through such a unique part of the world.

Very photogenic castle on a rock outcrop. Built by the Portuguese over some earlier fortifications to defend the city from Ottoman attacks. It became a notorious prison during the 20th century and is now only accesible to the Sultan and his guests.

The massive Al Jalali Fort, a fortress also known as Ash Sharqiya located in Muscat, Oman. It was used as a prison for most of the 20th century, and now a private museum for dignitaries only. Public access is restricted. Al Jalali Fort is one of a pair of forts, along with Al Mirani Fort, that were built to protect the harbor. It's beautiful architectural piece and being located on the harbour, the fort offers a stunning view of the entire city of Muscat. The attraction for tourists are the magnificent exterior view and the surrounding area's historical charm !!!

Even though it is not open to the general public, it is a nice architectural piece, that shows the traditional Omani fort architecture. The area around is nice to walk around, and it is best enjoyed from the other side of the bay, where you can see the entire fort.

The museum is unfortunately closed so we just had to be happy walking around the place. The website has not updated the status and this is a big problem for tourists.

We went there on weekdays but it was closed, the worst thing that can happen to the visitor is to go to a place where they state it is open from 9 to 6 but supposedly you find it closed with no reason and there is no update in google, if there is maintenance or anything why you don't say ? A place NOT TO BE MISSED during a visit to muscat. Actually, I visited this place twice, because I didnt have enough of it from the first time. An old Omani house converted into a museum for local culture and omani history. The interior is an architectural masterpiece especially the woodwork, spaces and light. Some of the rooms has been converted into media tools to explain the geological formation of Omaan as well as history timeline.

Visited Burj Al Sahwa during my Oman trip and stayed for a couple of days at my friend’s apartment nearby. The roundabout is a key landmark in Seeb with its beautiful clock tower and landscaped surroundings. It’s well-connected, making it easy to reach major parts of Muscat. The area is also set to become a major transport hub. A great spot to pass by, especially in the evenings when it’s nicely lit.

Burj Al Sahwa Bus Station is without a doubt one of the most important transport hubs in Muscat — a central connection point linking long-distance routes across Oman with city destinations. Its location near the main highway and airport makes it strategically vital for both residents and travellers. However, the reality doesn’t match its importance. The station facilities feel outdated, signage can be confusing for new visitors, and there’s often a lack of clear information about bus timings and routes. Waiting areas could also use more comfort and cleanliness, especially given how many passengers rely on this terminal every day. With a little more organisation, better maintenance, and attention to passenger experience, Burj Al Sahwa could easily become the modern, efficient hub that Oman’s growing public transport system deserves.

Nice fort to visit in Oman. Admission for foreigners is three rials. It’s small but great view of Muttrah. It’s an easy climb to the top with fans along the way to keep you cool, less than 100 steps from the entrance gate to the top of the fort. There are restrooms and a little cafe at the top but it was not open at the time of my visit!

Best sunset views over Mutra. Not a large fort and can get a bit crowded at the best photo points. A short steep walk up.

It's a beautiful view and when you walk up to the top, not only will you feel refreshed, you'll feel cool and comfortable. Sit back, relax, and watch the sunset. It's like you're in a fairy tale.

What a historical site and the view was simply mesmerising at sunset. Plenty of spots to take photos even though it was a little crowded. Great cafe shop inside, refreshing Frappuccino. Google maps pointed location with close proximity to the entrance.

We saw the waterfalls when driving and though we would check this out. They are part of the park. We went in June. it was completely empty. It was quite clean. Many playground for kids. The park is big and we didn’t see all of it but we liked the parts that we walked through

A beautiful large park which has a small lake, beautiful walking paths, numerous benches and picnic tables under the shade, a small amphitheater, and a spectacular man-made waterfall. Entrance is free and it's a great place to walk, sit under a shady tree and have a picnic, watch the kids play on one of several free playgrounds, or go to the back of the park to walk around the lake or see the waterfall. There are several water closets in the park, clean and well maintained. There is also a fancy restaurant near the main entrance. A great place for walking, or bring the family to play and relax in the shade. If you're in this part of Muscat and you like parks, I would certainly recommend this one.

There were some collations of adventures to enjoy the peacefulness and get rid of some worries. We can take children to enjoy the places with them. There is a lot of fun and we can go on a picnic there. Just imagine we can rent a cycle/electric bike to around there. There is one pond also there. We can go walk around the pond. It wasn’t that many things to see, which was surprising. I had expected much more. However, I think it could be a good place to visit for younger kids.

The Natural History Museum is rich with information about the animal kingdom in Oman. It consists of many halls and the best one is the whale hall where you can see an actual whale skeleton. Also you can see the fossil tree which is 260 million years old.

Small but very informative museum covering Oman's geography, wildlife, and rich fossil history. I suspect it gets few visitors. Well worth a stop to add context to your travels around the Kingdom.

It is a very beautiful museum with plenty of natural things. Tickets should be bought. There's a whale hall. It includes bones of a giant whale. There's a sound system of recorded whales. Worth for money.

This museum contains the history and evaluation of Flora and Fauna through the different eras. Museum isn't so big, but you'll get lot of knowledge looking at the artifacts. Stuffed animals they've used are really good. There's another room contains remainings of whales. You can even listen to different sounds make by whales. I recommend you to bring your kids to this place, it'll boost the knowledge of your kid. Ticket price is 1 riyal if you are an adult. And parking is free.

Every aspect of the subject has been explained in detail with help of appropriate models, vedios , photos and illustration. Must go place for everyone irrespective of the age, field or interest.

This place is a place which each country should have. We have visited it with our small children. We did made reservation in advance. Small ones and big can learn so much at this place. You can learn about the process of oil and gas extraction from very beginning. There is a lot of experiments you can try also. I can imagine it could be fun for kids. Anyway its dead silence in museum which makes really strange atmosphere and overall look of exhibits is quite old school. But it was good experience.

Though the entry is restricted to go near the censer, you can see it from Riyam park. It symbolises frankincense fragrance which is very famous in Oman. The monument looks very beautiful.

A very unusual monument. You can climb up to this monument which sits in top a a smallish hill. At the base there is a very attractive landscaped park to enjoy. Across the road is the start of the Corniche.

Worth a quick stop over if you are visiting Muscat, taxi driver told me a story behind it which has something to do with the celebration of late sultan 25 years in power. Beautiful at night. eyes catcher wherever you go around that area.

It is indeed a very huge park with a huge play area, it is best for long walks and cardio. The rental bikes need to be bit more organized as they don’t accept card payment, only cash and keeps yelling at people. Could be done a little more organized with a proper ticket counter and good quality bikes and Tuk tuks.

One of the largest public parks in muscat. There is plenty of parking with 3 main gates of the park. Pros: You can jog, exercise, have a picnic, and roam around with family. There is horse riding available for kids and electric cars for little kids as well in the central part of the park. There is a kids' play area with plenty of swings and a small area for roller skating as well. There is a coffee shop in the middle of the park as well and outside the park there are restaurants, coffee shops and a bus stop as well. Taxis are easily available outside. The four square mazes are absolutely gorgeous to look at. Cons: 1. Take mosquito repellent, or you will spend most of the time scratching after sunset. 2. Kids' play area is crowded on the weekends. 3. The tomb like structure at the center of the park was open a while ago, but unfortunately, it has been closed now by the management.

We went there to board the ferry which takes us for dolphin watch and to do snorkeling. The place has a nice feel with a lot of boats and activities.

There are several offices where you can book dolphin watching tours. The tour is typically two-hour long and offers refreshments. Average cost is around 10 OMR per adult. Free parking on site. Highly recommended activity.

Dolphin watching at Marina Bander Al Rowdha... Must watch place in oman... Unluckily we could spot only 2 dolphins today.. But the spots, scenary around was amazing. The whole 2 hours is worth spending. We went with Coral ocean tours agency. The yacht was very clean and hygiene..all safety measures were included..light refreshments also provided..The staff was very friendly and good.

A very beautiful place where you could have a yacht tour as there are some companies that would give the tours with fair prices. The sea tour would take you to see the dolphins and it will also take you to a calm place where you swim peacefully. You could also walk along the marina, only a small walk, and there are few restaurants. I recommend going to this place either early in the morning or during winter months. Never recommending this place in the summer, otherwise you will get severly hit by sun.

There are so many sea tour offices located near the parking area of Marina Bandar Al Rowdha which offers so many packages such as dolphin watching, sunset cruise, snorkeling, private yacht/ boat, Dhow cruise,fishing trip, coastal cruise, Island excursion and many more at a very reasonable pricing. Best place to spend quality time .Highly recommended.

Start of the hike is beautiful but a bit challenging because of the slippery rocks (even without rain!). Would definitely recommend good walking shoes. This hike is at the moment however not available after 500 meters due to fallen rocks it seems!

We started our hike here and it was great quite easy to Walk but still needed to be careful because a drop there wouldnt be fun! Can for sure reccomend it to you!

After renovations it becomes more beautiful and easy to hike all the way to Muttrah souq. I hope everyone who goes there to Keep the trail clean and stay safe. Also there is an aid kit in the top of the trail in case of any emergency. Rate : 9/10 A bit hard for children.

One moderate hike with picturesque views of the muscat city and the sea. The mountains are so beautiful, specially at this winter time with grasses and shrubs.there are some steep climbing at the start of the hike, yet once you pass that, it’s more or less w moderate hike towards the valleys and simple climbs. And the path is clearly marked. For us it took 53 minutes to complete the total hike, if you are a new hiker or stop to take photos, it may take 1-1.5 hours the max. After the hike is complete take the corniche road to walk with a view to the start of the hike.

Mildly challenging and rocky hike with incredible views. The trail blazes are painted on rocks throughout the hike; however, the blazes aren't differentiated between the various trails with different end points, so it's easy to veer off from your intended trail and feel like you're still on the right course. Pay close attention when you see the view of Mutrah, as the trail does not go to the right or the left, but forward up the hill towards a blaze above you. Leave plenty of time to get back before dark because it's easy to miss a turn or get turned around! Free parking, restaurants, and a park near the trailhead.

One of the most adorable easy hikes in Muscat. I always recommend it to beginners who are still new to hiking, tourists who want to maximize their entertainment experiences in Muttrah , and to anyone wants to go for a leisure & quite walk with a bit of challenge. You will love when you go to the top from C38 stone steps as you start to see the beauty of the ocean beside Riyams' huge incense burner towers, ships and old Ryiam's town. The trail as many options to start & finish hiking. There are some trails where you can find old remnant of houses and non dry small wadies. There are also unknown paths that is closed at the end but has very nice views. It is an always a good weekend plan, most of the directions wont take from you more than 1 hour or even less. It is worth to mention that it is better to wear light hiking shoes for your safety due to some moving sands and rocks. Signs are all around the trail so it is easy to follow

Great views overlooking Al Bustan. Driving paths are acceptable for 4WD and non-4WD vehicles. There are ample bins around so please don't throw your rubbish around. Quick stop, grab some photos and carry on towards your final destination. Wouldn't suggest just driving here for the view, use as a stop point before continuing towards Sifa or Yiti.

I stopped on this view point while coming back from Yiti and Sifah beach 🏖️, It’s a beautiful view point with the view of Bustan and Oman Sea 🌊 and beautiful mountains ⛰️. It’s unsafe since there’s no safety grills especially for kids since it’s on top of mountain. BE CAREFUL ‼️ The surface of this place is full of sharp stone which can damage your car Tires 🛞. Also no lights during night, if lights are fixed so it can attracts visitors during night for night view.

It’s a magnificent view. The entrance is a bit worn away and there is an unfortunate amount of litter from people having barbecues & picnics. I hope this will be cleaned up & people visiting will take care of their litter. There are sufficient trash cans around the area.

Perfect sunset view

I expected a lot better. One of the waiters seemed least interested in serving or being of any service at all. Grilled prawns was nice. So was the calamari and the soup. But they didn't offer any salad or any dips, and the only bread available was the usual qubs. No options of hommous, etc. And I didn't feel it's as cheap as the other reviewers said it was. Prawns at RO 8 per kg and Calamari at RO 7 per kg with such basic amenities are not cheap by any standards. The soup at RO 1 was the only item that could be called value for money.

Marina restaurant located near Azaiba Al maha petrol station. We tried fried shrimps, Calamari and seafood soup. Fried shrimps and Calamari was too overloaded with spices because of that you can feel more taste of spices only. It was over fried as well. Seafood taste was average. Bread was really amazing. Need to work on flavour other than that everything was fine.

Fish was great. You have to trie. Ordering is unforgetable experience. Menu looks like wery bad photocoppy of neyghbors restaurant menu taken in a hurry on bad phone camera. This is the way how to lower your marketing expenses. You have to see on your own eyes. I think thay have menu just to make you feel you can choose and they will brning what they have at the time. 😂 Annyway the fish was great!

I saw in reviews many had great experience dining here, but for me, not so pleasant. I chose seafood casserole in the menu & they said it's available. After some time that tested my patience, they served me those fish & shrimps they showed me, all grilled (to my big surprise) with two sticks of diced squid. I'm a little disappointed but the food was already on the table so I ate the dinner. The fish was okay, the shrimps tasted odd & the squids were bland. The white rice & free vege salad were great. I went out really full. I got sick later in the night & I think it's the shrimps. Wish I had my original order or simply got a hot seafood soup instead. Hope they will cook what the customers ordered & not what is easier to prepare.

Always say they have the best burgers in town and they still do the best juicy burgers. However, noticed the new Korean menu and was disappointed big time. Tried 2 dishes the noddle and the corn dog and nothing Korean about it. Noddles tasted like the instant noodles etc. hope the management look again into the ingredients used for the Korean menu as prices does not reflect the quality of food served.

Nice little burger joint, good smashed burgers, salty fries. I also ordered the hot dog and it was not bad. Have not tried their gelato or sweet menu (those waffles look promising) so maybe a revisit is in order. All in all it was great value, prices are very competitive.

The bun of the burger is decent, the sauce is nothing really special, but the patty was well done (Both literally and figuratively speaking). The dessert was a REAL disappointment! I ordered the 1/2 Caramel Butterscotch Cake which tasted EXTREMELY bland. Nothing about it screamed dessert, which is unfortunate considering how appetizing it actually looked. I think this is one of those restaurants where I can just say: "I tried it.", and that's about it. Please bear in mind that the menu offers a lot more, so there might be something there that would help plaster a higher rating.

I don’t know even how to explain it from how bad The hotdog is more like alkabeer quality (yes, you could get better in any small canteen) Fries are more like a bought from Al Meera and then sold to client Drinks are bad ready made stuff And to add an insult to the injury, the dessert! Over 3 rials for the smallest and tasteless cookie! I think they have one source they use all over for drinks and dessert. Total waste of food and money. Wish if I didn’t think of trying it

The set up of the place is good, comfortable seating, the staff are friendly. The burger wasn’t bad, my sons we ordered plan but they still added sauce so he only ate the outer portion with less sauce. The fries not bad but really just the kind you buy at a super market with all the competitors in same market suggest to up your fries game, mozzarella sticks where pretty good, did like all the options of hot sauce.
