Women can visit in the morning from 9 AM. After the afternoon prayer, they cannot enter the main prayer hall, but there is a comfortable designated area for women to pray.

One of the finest architecture in world. Majestic and beautiful. This place exudes omani grandeur and is a mixture of Islamic architectures all over world. Women need to cover head and dress appropriately to cover the whole body. Men should avoid shorts. Non muslims can enter only 8 AM to 11 AM except Friday. Take atleast 1.5 hours in hand to explore the palace and garden. Main done is behind the small done. Make sure to have a water bottle as lots of things to be explored. By 11:30 guards start preparing the place for namaz prayer. It looks excellent in night from outside. Muslims can enter any time for prayer

A great place to visit. We got a quick tour of the opera (up to 10 mins about history) and then we had a free time. It is a beautiful place, it is a pure definition of royalty. Worth seeing. Cost per person is 3.1 OMR, only by card.

This place is majestic and its huge. Sadly I didn't have the chance to see the museum parts of it. However I took a tour around the facility and went to check out some coffee shops. This place really is so beautiful and such a great mix between modern luxuries and classical architecture

This museum definitely was the most attractive place I visited during my journey in Oman. If you wanna know about the Omani culture and principles don’t hesitate to visit this place. The staff are very welcome and also knowledgeable and you can feel free to ask them anything about the museum.

I was here today and spent a couple of hours in the somewhat sprawling complex. I found the Omani artefact displays interesting and I really appreciated the English placards explaining the history of men and women dress, frankincense, jewellery and other ethnographic aspects. The art in one gallery wasn’t to my taste (especially the AI “art” ugh and sadly only one floor of a three story art gallery was open. So I dinked a star for that bc I shouldn’t have to pay full admission fee - a whopping 9 euros!- with closed exhibits. That said, the model village outside is adorable and the old photos and prints of Muscat from a century and older are fascinating. The restaurant and café on site are a bit expensive. But staff was overall lovely, and I’m grateful they let me leave a bag at the front desk. I’d still recommend this place to get a good sense of Omani cultures and history.

Bait Al Zubair Museum is a masterpiece for those who wish to understand the history and culture of Oman. We had the pleasure to discover this outstanding museum with the amazing tour guide called Hassan. He is so passionate on delivering all what is related to Omani history & culture in an easy & interesting way. All the members of the group like his explanation. We were able to have a closer look at jewellery, Khanjars, Omani traditional clothes & stamps. We had the chance to see Gallery Sarah, which is new section at this museum. We appreciate the warm welcoming at the museum & delivering the beauty of Oman in an amazing way. Tickets are needed to enter the museum - you can get from the reception there.

This museum opens early -9am. It was worth coming to visit before strolling to National Museum of Oman. It has slightly different aspect on the history and personal artefacts displayed.

I had the pleasure of visiting Bait Al Zubair, where I was guided on a fascinating tour by Yousef Khamies. He took me on a deep dive into Oman’s rich history, exploring how the country evolved and the remarkable culture and traditions that define it. Yousef shared insights into the intricate details of Omani attire, explaining how every element holds significance and purpose. For instance, the shape of the turban and the design of women’s clothing reflect the wearer’s region or city of origin. The tour also took me through various sections of the museum, where I had the chance to explore impressive collections of stamps, coins, books, jewelry, weapons and more. To conclude the experience, we enjoyed a traditional serving of Omani coffee and dates, which was a perfect ending to an unforgettable visit. I left with a deep admiration for the Omani people, and a renewed appreciation for their beautiful culture. I highly recommend this experience!

That’s crazy old. Feels like I am at 1940. There are Indians trading everywhere. And Foreigners who are buying. Old fashioned shop. Clean only where is trading, if you come beyond the market it’s so dirty and dark. It’s safe, no worries at all. For experience it’s nice. Prices are highly overpriced and goods are there over-old and not fresh. Maybe some shops are genuine, you may bargain and get things really cheap. Very boring place. Cafes there don’t have any customer service. However it’s a heritage and it’s somehow beautiful and entertaining. There is gold market. Fancy and excited.

The Souq in Mutrah, the old commercial centre of Muscat is magical. It fronts the 'Corniche' the harbour where His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's dhow is anchored as well as cruise ships and Omani naval vessels. Mutrah souq offers just about everything of Omani origin, such as hessian bags of frankincense, pots of herbs and spices and dried out rose petals from Jebel Akdhar, as well as pungent perfumes such as bukhoor, all offered for sale by cheerful vendors, there are also pashminas and Omani caps, robes and turbans of every colour and of course khanjars both antique and brand new, the traditional ceremonial dagger of Oman. I picked up a lovely wooden whistle that plays Irish jigs melodiously!Mutrah also boasts a Gold Souq which is brimming with shops selling jewellery of all design styles. Muttrah Souq is a must-visit destination, known for its beautiful location and stunning sea view. It is one of Oman’s most famous traditional markets, offering a unique blend of authenticity and variety in traditional products. The prices are reasonable, and the market features a remarkable gold section with exquisite modern and classic designs. Walking through its narrow alleys filled with the rich scents of frankincense and spices is an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend visiting to explore its charm and discover the beauty of Omani craftsmanship. A truly exceptional market.

The place looked beautiful with all the lights during the night time, but the only issue we faced was parking… it was hard to find a spot on the weekend. However, if you go a bit further, there’s a large parking area near the musical fountain.

The original structure was built over 200 years ago by Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, and the current palace was rebuilt in 1972. The building features a distinctive blue and gold facade and is framed by the historic Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali, dating back to the 16th century. Together, they form a setting that reflects both Muscat’s defensive past and its modern architectural identity. Although the palace is not open to visitors, the public area in front of it offers a clear view and is well maintained. The walkway leading to the gates is clean and organized, making it a pleasant short visit, especially for those interested in Omani history and culture. A brief stop here provides a good sense of the country’s royal heritage and the surrounding Old Muscat area.

Al Alam Palace is must visit place in Muscat. No entry inside the palace allowed but view from the outside is great too. This place represents the traditional architecture, surrounded by greenery and hills. I enjoyed walking near the palace despite it was hot afternoon.

While you can’t go inside, it’s still worth stopping by to admire the architecture and learn a bit about Oman's history and royal heritage. The palace has long been a symbol of Oman’s modernization and continued stability, and while we could only view it from the outside, it’s clear why it holds such importance. The National Museum of Oman is located just opposite to the main entrance.

Al Alam Palace is the ceremonial palace of the Sultan of Oman and used welcoming foreign dignitaries and heads of state etc. Visited it from outside. The striking blue color of the palace makes it special, that is visible from a distance. Pictures can be taken both from the front and the back.

Great historical site with fantastic views over the sea and Old Muscat. The fort is well preserved and you can walk inside to explore its old structure and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Staff were helpful and informative. It’s not very large, so the visit doesn’t take long, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re in the area. A solid cultural stop—just wish there was a bit more signage or detailed info inside.

The entry fee is 4 OMR a bit high, but the fort is really well organized and worth a visit. You’ll need about 40 minutes to explore the whole place. There’s also a nice coffee shop on top with marvelous views. perfect spot to relax and take it all in!

The fort was impressive and holds a rich historical background. However, be prepared for a lot of stairs if you’re not in good shape, this might be challenging. Also, watch your step, as the pathways can be uneven and there’s a risk of slipping. That said, the staff at the fort are helpful and can assist in case of any emergency. As a local, I recommend visiting this place if you have some extra time and money. Beyond its history, the fort offers a stunning 360-degree view of Old Muscat, Al Alam Palace, and the sea, it’s truly worth it.

It has nice view of Arabian sea, sultan palace and other fort, however there is nothing to see inside the fort. You can finish the fort in 10 min and entry charges are 11 riyal. It is too expensive.

Al Mirani castle is situated near Al Alam Royal palace, Muscat. It was built in the 1580s by the Portuguese to defend Muscat's coastline. The place is known for Architectural Marvels and its thick walls and watchtowers. Good parking space. Make a visit for an enchanting view of the Palace, sea with mountains !!!

The views are great. The elevators make it easy as well for people with reduced mobility. The 5.5 omr ticket per adult resident is too much. (The 5y old went free). Best timing 1h before sunset to get all the different settings. You dont need more than 1h up there unless there is an event. There was a nice breeze

We had a wonderful visit to Mutrah Corniche, now even more delightful with the new musical fountain that adds charm for evenings. It’s an ideal hangout spot for families and kids, offering scenic sea views, artful walkways, and soothing music that enhances the atmosphere. The well-maintained promenade is perfect for strolling, relaxing, and enjoying the coastal breeze. Just a heads-up: parking can be quite difficult during weekend rush hours, so visiting by taxi or earlier in the day is a good idea. Overall, a lovely family-friendly destination with views and entertainment for all ages.

Better follow the instructions at the entrance the guide suggested to start the visiting tour. The short documentary in the 1st floor film room is very informative, separately played in Arabic and English, no subtitles, briefly introduced the history of Oman.

its a wonderful museum opposite the sultan's palace a beautiful building i can compare the bahrain museum to the cathar and omani museum the weakest the bahrain museum has almost nothing there the qatar museum is like a local history exhibition the cathar museum is very nice and high quality almost the same or higher level the building is fantastically modern this exhibition carries the oman culture the high standards and the interestingness definitely visit it pay attention that it is usually only open until four in the afternoon and an hour before that you probably won't get a ticket it's only friday it's open until five i recommend it very nice the pictures speak for themselves

Very photogenic castle on a rock outcrop. Built by the Portuguese over some earlier fortifications to defend the city from Ottoman attacks. It became a notorious prison during the 20th century and is now only accesible to the Sultan and his guests.

The massive Al Jalali Fort, a fortress also known as Ash Sharqiya located in Muscat, Oman. It was used as a prison for most of the 20th century, and now a private museum for dignitaries only. Public access is restricted. Al Jalali Fort is one of a pair of forts, along with Al Mirani Fort, that were built to protect the harbor. It's beautiful architectural piece and being located on the harbour, the fort offers a stunning view of the entire city of Muscat. The attraction for tourists are the magnificent exterior view and the surrounding area's historical charm !!!

Even though it is not open to the general public, it is a nice architectural piece, that shows the traditional Omani fort architecture. The area around is nice to walk around, and it is best enjoyed from the other side of the bay, where you can see the entire fort.

A very beautiful park, both adults and kids can enjoy. There is an amusement park once you walk down. There are plenty of greenery and lovely views. There is a restaurant and small stalls. There are toilets. There are plenty of flies and mosquitos, though, so be prepared.

We saw the waterfalls when driving and though we would check this out. They are part of the park. We went in June. it was completely empty. It was quite clean. Many playground for kids. The park is big and we didn’t see all of it but we liked the parts that we walked through

A beautiful large park which has a small lake, beautiful walking paths, numerous benches and picnic tables under the shade, a small amphitheater, and a spectacular man-made waterfall. Entrance is free and it's a great place to walk, sit under a shady tree and have a picnic, watch the kids play on one of several free playgrounds, or go to the back of the park to walk around the lake or see the waterfall. There are several water closets in the park, clean and well maintained. There is also a fancy restaurant near the main entrance. A great place for walking, or bring the family to play and relax in the shade. If you're in this part of Muscat and you like parks, I would certainly recommend this one.

This historic fort is very old and reflects the rich heritage of the country. Visitors need to climb stairs to explore it, but it’s worth the effort. The inside of the fort is fascinating, and the view from the top is truly stunning.

Easy to get to, not massive so a quick tour is all you need. Great views and a dinky little coffee shop near the top. Nice experience overall. It's really about the view, not much to do within the fort itself, maybe most of that has been locked off?

It’s a peaceful and photogenic spot, perfect for a quick visit while exploring Old Muscat. The souk is nearby.. in the fort they don’t allow water bottles which was disappointing.. the fort is best during sunsent time..

Beautiful place with lots of history. I recommend you go during December or during the winter month because they have lots of activities there and live music. The history is amazing. The scenes are amazing. The weather in winter time is amazing. And thr Omani people are amazing. This is my 6th time visiting and I always come back here.

The Mutrah Castle is a lovely spot to visit while exploring Muscat. 🏰 It may be small, but it’s well worth the stop for the good views over the city, the port, and the sea. The location carries a sense of history, and walking around gives you a glimpse into Oman’s heritage. It’s a simple visit, but the scenery and atmosphere make it worthwhile. A nice place to take photos, enjoy the view, and connect with the history of Mutrah.

bought a ticket right at the entrance using a mastercard for 3.3 omr which equates to $8.57 usd. they don’t accept amex. well worth it imo. the views are beyond amazing. all the way at the top during sunset is so magical. if you come definitely come during the sunset.

This gate marks the western entrance to the old city. Historic accounts mention in 1624 the building of an earthen land wall was started. Previously the city was mainly protected by two forts at the sea side that was most vulnerable to attack by Ottomans and Portuguese. The latter after having established their power in Muscat were challenged by Omani tribes living in the interior (landside). in 1650 the Portuguese were ousted. What started as an earthen wall was upgraded through the ages. The gate structure houses a museum on the upper floor.We could not enter as the venue was closed. The views from the Gate were good. We returned a couple of hours later and the facility was still closed.

This is not so big museum but it's a gem. We totally enjoyed it there. The sitting place under the tree was heavenly. Cool breeze from the sea was mind blowing weather. Although no one was there, gate was open, we went inside, but lights were off, couldn’t find switches to turn it on. Recommend if you have enough time in Muscat.

It has nice ambience for evening walk/family outing ...... But we cannot access the museum in the evenings/weekends/Public holidays, as it is working only on weekdays from 8am to 2pm...... So we may have to take a day off to visit the places which are accessible only on weekdays (we have many places like this in oman.... esp forts and museums ....where expatriates cannot go on holidays)

A small modern and very well presented museum. Lots of interesting historic I formation. Informative polite staff who are very willing to answer your questions. We'll worth a trip. Not too big as to overwhelme you with I formation.

Free entry, good collection of exhibits showcasing history of Oman. Good photo opportunity, multiple entry n exits available. A mini amphitheater also exists. Toilet was locked-probably meant for staff only.

A very nice place with items dating to 500 million years back. Ticket price is 1 Omani Rial and it will take you approximately 30mins to finish the museum. It’s a old museum and a pretty small one but it’s worth visiting it

It wasn’t that many things to see, which was surprising. I had expected much more. However, I think it could be a good place to visit for younger kids.

The Natural History Museum is rich with information about the animal kingdom in Oman. It consists of many halls and the best one is the whale hall where you can see an actual whale skeleton. Also you can see the fossil tree which is 260 million years old.

It is a very beautiful museum with plenty of natural things. Tickets should be bought. There's a whale hall. It includes bones of a giant whale. There's a sound system of recorded whales. Worth for money.

This museum contains the history and evaluation of Flora and Fauna through the different eras. Museum isn't so big, but you'll get lot of knowledge looking at the artifacts. Stuffed animals they've used are really good. There's another room contains remainings of whales. You can even listen to different sounds make by whales. I recommend you to bring your kids to this place, it'll boost the knowledge of your kid. Ticket price is 1 riyal if you are an adult. And parking is free.

Very nice clean fish market, prices much lower than in Europe. Great views of the bay.

One stop shop for all kinds of seafood at very good prices with optional cleaning services. There are over 20 species of sea creatures here, it's also a good tourism attraction if you're unfamiliar with seafoods.

Visited Burj Al Sahwa during my Oman trip and stayed for a couple of days at my friend’s apartment nearby. The roundabout is a key landmark in Seeb with its beautiful clock tower and landscaped surroundings. It’s well-connected, making it easy to reach major parts of Muscat. The area is also set to become a major transport hub. A great spot to pass by, especially in the evenings when it’s nicely lit.

Burj Al Sahwa Bus Station is without a doubt one of the most important transport hubs in Muscat — a central connection point linking long-distance routes across Oman with city destinations. Its location near the main highway and airport makes it strategically vital for both residents and travellers. However, the reality doesn’t match its importance. The station facilities feel outdated, signage can be confusing for new visitors, and there’s often a lack of clear information about bus timings and routes. Waiting areas could also use more comfort and cleanliness, especially given how many passengers rely on this terminal every day. With a little more organisation, better maintenance, and attention to passenger experience, Burj Al Sahwa could easily become the modern, efficient hub that Oman’s growing public transport system deserves.

Very interesting and informative place with lot of historical aspects explained with nice visualisations. It not only explains the history of Oman but also tells the struggles and difficulties this area has faced in past and how they managed to overcome that. The museum is in old Bait Al Falaj fort and Falaj name comes from the concept of how fresh water was being provided from mountains to residence of fort. You can view that as well. For tourists, upto 10 years are free. Above 10 years it is 3 OMR per person and both cash and card options are there. The army staff there was really nice and explained different parts of exhibition very well. We followed google map, but it took us to other way which was restricted and army officer explained us how to reach to this place. So be careful on choosing the path and enter to museum site from Al Mujamma St. Try to spend maximum time in order to get maximum knowledge. Some places are restricted for taking photos. Videos are not allowed.

This was my second visit to the museum and this museum mesmerizes me everytime. All the historical facts are very well displayed. We go back to that era. Entire history of Oman is beautifully written and explained like an engaging story. The museum is very neatly maintained. We actually feel that we are on the battlefield. Salute to all the brave people who laid down their lives to resurrect Oman.

Today 20/09/2023 we were at the Armed Forces Museum. Our guide was Mr. Saleh, an excellent guide with depth knowledge of Omani History before and after Islam till date. The museum is not just about Armed forces but the history starting from 14th A.D. it includes history, revolution of Sultanate Oman and Sultan’s over time. If you are in Mascut must visit it. If you don’t have personal transport batter book a ride to avoid struggle on return or you will have to walk in mid day which will definitely hard for you to get a taxi from the road side.

The exhibitions are located in a fort, which we thought was really great! Outside you can see the vehicles of the late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, as well as military vehicles. The museum has been designed with great attention to detail. All the staff was very nice and welcoming!! Definitely worth a visit!

We visited the place last weekend. Truly a wonderful place to reminisce Omani history, specially the reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, he is so much loved & remembered.💚 The place displays a lot of military equipment from the ancient times-- firearms, armor, artilleries, etc. I felt nostalgic seeing the military garments, camouflage, insignia, & other memorabilia of one Great Leader!

Great museum. Covers almost all Omani history of military. All three forces artifacts were showcased. Entry fee was 3 Omani for tourists. 2 for Omani residents.

Great place. Housed in the old amazing fort. Very comprehensive exhibitions. Covering Oman's history. Or rather the people living in this areas under constant fighting with neighbours. From historic times up til today, after the independence from the Portuguese in 1650. Tons of weapons. Historical and from all over the world, gathered from the many forces invading and internal conflicts that have taken place in the region. Quite interesting, to me, the development of the defence system and fortresses. Outdoors, lots of ground vehicles and a few airplanes. Recommended!

We went there on weekdays but it was closed, the worst thing that can happen to the visitor is to go to a place where they state it is open from 9 to 6 but supposedly you find it closed with no reason and there is no update in google, if there is maintenance or anything why you don't say ? I hope the management takes tourists attraction places seriously, it is not your own to close it ore open it anytime you wish

A place NOT TO BE MISSED during a visit to muscat. Actually, I visited this place twice, because I didnt have enough of it from the first time. An old Omani house converted into a museum for local culture and omani history. The interior is an architectural masterpiece especially the woodwork, spaces and light. Some of the rooms has been converted into media tools to explain the geological formation of Omaan as well as history timeline.

This park is a gem. It has two entries, one near roundabout and second from the back side, from top of the hill. Full park requires 2-3 hours just to explore for pictures and views, and there are many spots where exquisite pictures can be taken. Unfortunately cannot go up to the top castle as it has been closed. Park has shops, toilets, mosques, adequate spots to sit & relax, and two play areas for kids. It is crowded over the weekends, and finding parking on the front can be a hassle sometimes. Mosquitoes are there. Make sure to take mosquito repellent

One of the best places have been visited in Muscat. Many restaurants and bar along its promenade, where to rest and have a great time while you’re enjoying a nice view of the sea and receiving the Persian sea breeze. Very nice place , no facilities to wash out the salt from the skin after swimming there but the environment is perfect and romantic

Beautiful views. On one side there are natural mangroves and on other side amazing view of this beach. If you get space, you can park the car at side parking of the road and can have long walk/jogging. Not sure about summer, but in winter season it is awesome experience.

PDO being the pioneer in Oil and Gas operations in Oman, the have built this exhibition centre with lot of knowledge and experience. Every aspect of the subject has been explained in detail with help of appropriate models, vedios , photos and illustration. Must go place for everyone irrespective of the age, field or interest.

This place is a place which each country should have. We have visited it with our small children. We did made reservation in advance. Small ones and big can learn so much at this place. Is very well made. Interactive part makes it so much interesting and enjoyable ,then just reading facts. The entry is free.

You can learn about the process of oil and gas extraction from very beginning. There is a lot of experiments you can try also. I can imagine it could be fun for kids. Anyway its dead silence in museum which makes really strange atmosphere and overall look of exhibits is quite old school. But it was good experience.

Absolutely loved our visit to this beautiful mosque. We got a free tour from a keeper who gave us many interesting insights into the Islamic culture as well as the impressive construction and variety of designers, materials, technologies, artists and suppliers from countries such as Iran, Italy, Germany, Austria, India and the UK that all went into creating this beautiful landmark. The visit to the library was also impressive. Tip: Here you really need to cover up (compared to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque) so be prepared ;)

On the 9th-Oct 2025 around 12 noon the security guard was annoying and absolutely rude lack of sense self respect as he representative of A meen Mosque .I was kind and tried to ask him why I am not allowed to take pictures as I have done twice before. His angry face and attitude..was not acceptable

A stunning mosque with Sunni Imams. The mosque is clean and beautiful and large. Taraweeh here was a really beautiful experience. Although after everything two rakats somebody at the front was reciting something. They did it without a microphone and I'm not sure who it was or what they were doing or if this is an innovation or not but perhaps mentioning it someone will be familiar with the practice more than I.

A really beautiful mosque with an amazing library. I loved that there were elevators everywhere even in the women’s prayer room. A cleaning lady is always there too so it’s spotless and quiet.

We went there after checking Google that its open. We went there and there was a gardener there. He checked inside and came out telling us its closed and come back later. There was also a guard dog there who started barking at me and ran after me. I ran out and closed the gate just in time. There was another group of visitors who came at the same time and were turned back. Very disappointing to see visitors being turned away like that and that too when a lot of tourists were visiting Muscat.

Interesting place. The elderly gentleman that owns it is a wealth of information, unfortunately, you have to stand very close to him yo hear what he says as he is very soft spoken - this was impossible as part of a group.

Lovely private museum with lots of artifacts from all over the Middle East. I recommend checking this place out if you have a little extra time and enjoy history. The owner is a delightful man who's incredible to chat with and knows so much of Oman's history!

The museum had a lot of interesting artifacts. I learned a lot, however, the tour guide was rather rude. I wouldn't recommend this museum if it meant seeing that tour guide again.

Though the entry is restricted to go near the censer, you can see it from Riyam park. It symbolises frankincense fragrance which is very famous in Oman. The monument looks very beautiful.

Up close, its intricate geometric patterns and detailed inscriptions are truly mesmerizing. Reaching the censer involves a pleasant hike through Riyam Park. The trail is well-maintained and not too challenging, making it suitable for most visitors. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Gulf of Oman, Muscat's skyline, and the rugged surrounding mountains. The panoramic vistas are perfect for photography and truly highlight the natural beauty of the region.

A very unusual monument. You can climb up to this monument which sits in top a a smallish hill. At the base there is a very attractive landscaped park to enjoy. Across the road is the start of the Corniche.

Worth a quick stop over if you are visiting Muscat, taxi driver told me a story behind it which has something to do with the celebration of late sultan 25 years in power. Beautiful at night. eyes catcher wherever you go around that area.

It’s a very breathtaking view point at the top of Al Riyam park but unfortunately the way to up is restricted and not allowed for no reason.

It is indeed a very huge park with a huge play area, it is best for long walks and cardio. The rental bikes need to be bit more organized as they don’t accept card payment, only cash and keeps yelling at people. Could be done a little more organized with a proper ticket counter and good quality bikes and Tuk tuks.

One of the largest public parks in muscat. There is plenty of parking with 3 main gates of the park. Pros: You can jog, exercise, have a picnic, and roam around with family. There is horse riding available for kids and electric cars for little kids as well in the central part of the park. There is a kids' play area with plenty of swings and a small area for roller skating as well. There is a coffee shop in the middle of the park as well and outside the park there are restaurants, coffee shops and a bus stop as well. Taxis are easily available outside. The four square mazes are absolutely gorgeous to look at. Cons: 1. Take mosquito repellent, or you will spend most of the time scratching after sunset. 2. Kids' play area is crowded on the weekends. 3. The tomb like structure at the center of the park was open a while ago, but unfortunately, it has been closed now by the management.

Nice spot for catching a pretty sunset. It’s calm and peaceful, though there isn’t much else to do in the area. Some nearby apartments block part of the view, but overall it’s a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the sunset, maybe even bring along a small picnic once in a while.

Not much to see here, just a small lake with a fence around it. Nice grassy area to sit down but not much shade. For more things to enjoy there is a nice beach and beach park just s few meters away!

Good for kids and connected to beach park as well excellent for walking.... The lake has fishes , crane , ducks and other species... You can feed the fishes in the lake, drop some fish food and wait a minute you will see loads of fishes trying to grab a bite. Well maintained bathrokms alway there is staff available for maintenance.

Jan 2019 visit Nice park. Good for walk, jog or cycling. Parking is easily available. At start there is a cafe which is not so filled. Its just ok... At the end there is play ground, basketball court and a small football court. You can jump on to beach sand. Sea looks amazing as always.

Most of the equipment is outdated. At the time of my visit, on a weekday at around 10 pm the place was quite empty. Some of the rides appeared not to be functional. The park closes at 11:00 pm.

The oldest amusement park, also the least maintained, as if its management is not interested in running an entertaining attraction. Such a heartache that it occupies probably the most beautiful part of Muscat, yet it fails to meet expectations Almost all of the games and attractions are worn down and many are not working. Price wise, it’s equivalent to those of indoor amusement parks found in malls Not to mention the worst part, the untrained staff and supervisors. Unable to communicate, and obviously poor management skills The best part is its outdoor setting in the beautiful weather of Oman’s winter season and its proximity to Qurum Natural Park I hope that someone in their management reads this, perhaps it may motivate some change or development.

Marah Land, Muscat – A Rollercoaster of Chaos I don’t even know where to begin. If you’re looking for adrenaline, this place delivers, not because of the rides themselves, but because you’re literally gambling with your life. Let’s start with the seatbelt incident. Mid-ride, my seatbelt just unbuckled out of nowhere. One second, I was strapped in, the next, I was gripping onto the bar for dear life, questioning every life decision that led me here. I thought, “Oh, maybe just this ride is bad,” but NO. The water roller coaster? No seatbelts. They straight-up launch you into a wild splash, hoping physics will keep you in the boat. And don’t even get me started on the maintenance, or lack thereof. The whole place feels like it’s been abandoned for years, with rusted rides, flickering lights, and an eerie sense that something could go wrong at any moment. Turns out, that feeling isn’t paranoia, rides here have literally malfunctioned before, injuring multiple people! Marah Land isn’t just an amusement park; it’s an adventure survival course. If you make it out in one piece, congratulations, you’ve won the real ride: escaping unscathed. If I could give this place a 0 star review.. I would.

I think only people above age 35 like me will appreciate that place cause it makes them feel nostalgic and take them back in time to their childhood . The place has various tides for different ages . Prices are ok ( you can find them in the photos ) , it might-be pricy for families with more than a child . It is easily accessed through the service road of qurum park and . There are few of those shops that sell basic toys for kids and a couple of coffee shops . I’m not sure kids nowadays enjoy such type of entertainment but i know that i do 😎

Kids had loads of fun, will definitely recommend to try at least once. You have to get a rechargeable card worth 700 baisa and there are nice offers on the recharge as well. Free parking outside.

If you want to take a single ride when you're in Marah Land, it's not at all right that you have to buy a card. This is absolutely not necessary. I wanted to take one ride, but I didn't, and it shouldn't be like that. I was a tourist, and my experience was not good at all.

Amazing view. Weather was nice and cool despite the hot glare. Beach was relatively quiet. Maybe due to the strong current. Advisable for ONLY swimmers. We stayed the night at Blue Gate (Santorini Oman) and arrived midnight. Due to the long journey from Sur we were knackered so slept in the following day. By 11.30am we had to leave and check-in. Dolphine swimming and snockeling pick-up was nearby and would have loved to have a day out in the ocean. Alas, some activities best saved for next trip. Hopefully in the near future 2-3 years from now🙏🏻 Met a cute white crab that quickly ran away from us!

Food was way over priced and not worth the money the small salmon is 12omr. The beach is not actually private because fishing boats were passing the whole time and even stopping right next to the beach to fish I didn’t feel comfortable and won’t be returning because I feel like action wasn’t taken and I didn’t feel safe for the money I paid I expected to have a peaceful experience but sadly didn’t.

Amazing, peaceful beach with soft white sand and perfect colour of the sea. Very good for kids as very shallow. Beach is very long. Some parts belong to the nearby hotel but its no guards or fence so you can easily walk along. I like it much more than Qurum Beach.

Nice gulf beach for families with kids, easy to get into the water, some rocks on the way but plenty of smooth sand. No businesses around to provide refreshments. The south part is for hotel guests only.

It's located on the shore of Gulf of Oman, in Muscat. 💫Al Bustan Beach coast is made up out of two areas, and the bigger area is a closed hotel beach that belongs to Al Bustan Palace Hotel and is perfect for calm vacations.✌️ Beautiful panoramic views, clean white sand, soft waves and a weak tide all await its visitors.😍 And the private beach offers high quality service and added conveniences like setting up a romantic dinner on the coast.✨

We went there to board the ferry which takes us for dolphin watch and to do snorkeling. The place has a nice feel with a lot of boats and activities.

Dolphin watching at Marina Bander Al Rowdha... Must watch place in oman... Unluckily we could spot only 2 dolphins today.. But the spots, scenary around was amazing. The whole 2 hours is worth spending. We went with Coral ocean tours agency. The yacht was very clean and hygiene..all safety measures were included..light refreshments also provided..The staff was very friendly and good.

A very beautiful place where you could have a yacht tour as there are some companies that would give the tours with fair prices. The sea tour would take you to see the dolphins and it will also take you to a calm place where you swim peacefully. You could also walk along the marina, only a small walk, and there are few restaurants. I recommend going to this place either early in the morning or during winter months. Never recommending this place in the summer, otherwise you will get severly hit by sun.

Great place to start the sea tour along the coasts of Muscat. There are so many sea tour offices located near the parking area of Marina Bandar Al Rowdha which offers so many packages such as dolphin watching, sunset cruise, snorkeling, private yacht/ boat, Dhow cruise,fishing trip, coastal cruise, Island excursion and many more at a very reasonable pricing. Best place to spend quality time .Highly recommended.

Start of the hike is beautiful but a bit challenging because of the slippery rocks (even without rain!). Would definitely recommend good walking shoes. This hike is at the moment however not available after 500 meters due to fallen rocks it seems!

Beautiful hike with amazing views over Muttrah and the sea

We started our hike here and it was great quite easy to Walk but still needed to be careful because a drop there wouldnt be fun! Can for sure reccomend it to you!

After renovations it becomes more beautiful and easy to hike all the way to Muttrah souq. I hope everyone who goes there to Keep the trail clean and stay safe. Also there is an aid kit in the top of the trail in case of any emergency. Rate : 9/10 A bit hard for children.

One moderate hike with picturesque views of the muscat city and the sea. The mountains are so beautiful, specially at this winter time with grasses and shrubs.there are some steep climbing at the start of the hike, yet once you pass that, it’s more or less w moderate hike towards the valleys and simple climbs. And the path is clearly marked. For us it took 53 minutes to complete the total hike, if you are a new hiker or stop to take photos, it may take 1-1.5 hours the max. After the hike is complete take the corniche road to walk with a view to the start of the hike.

Mildly challenging and rocky hike with incredible views. The trail blazes are painted on rocks throughout the hike; however, the blazes aren't differentiated between the various trails with different end points, so it's easy to veer off from your intended trail and feel like you're still on the right course. Pay close attention when you see the view of Mutrah, as the trail does not go to the right or the left, but forward up the hill towards a blaze above you. Leave plenty of time to get back before dark because it's easy to miss a turn or get turned around! Free parking, restaurants, and a park near the trailhead.

One of the most adorable easy hikes in Muscat. I always recommend it to beginners who are still new to hiking, tourists who want to maximize their entertainment experiences in Muttrah , and to anyone wants to go for a leisure & quite walk with a bit of challenge. You will love when you go to the top from C38 stone steps as you start to see the beauty of the ocean beside Riyams' huge incense burner towers, ships and old Ryiam's town. The trail as many options to start & finish hiking. There are some trails where you can find old remnant of houses and non dry small wadies. There are also unknown paths that is closed at the end but has very nice views. It is an always a good weekend plan, most of the directions wont take from you more than 1 hour or even less. It is worth to mention that it is better to wear light hiking shoes for your safety due to some moving sands and rocks. Signs are all around the trail so it is easy to follow

Not a must but still a nice and tranquil place to visit. I think we were the first visitors in a few days, so you're pretty sure to have the place for yourself. You can simply wander around in the fortress-like house (which is empty) and enjoy the views from the top.

Found this little gem by chance - we saw the signs on the road while trying to find the beehive tombs in Bawshar and decided to have a look. It is a house /small fort, nicely restored, located in a date palm tree grove free of tourist crowds. Definitely a place to visit for a more authentic feel.
