Nestled within the luxurious Grand Hyatt in Muscat's Al Khuwayr neighborhood, Club Safari is a vibrant restaurant that immerses you in an enchanting jungle theme. Popped in to watch a LFC match and there was nobody in, so the atmosphere wasn't great! Price of a pint was shocking at 6 rial, we left at half time. Plenty of screens for the right event though.

We were disrespected by a waiter called Qasim, abusing us in Arabic for just asking direction for club safari because there were 2 bars . No customer care at all..

Great place to hang out at late night and have some fun. There is a entry fee of R.O. 5. Earlier this entry fee could be reimbursed with a drink but now its not available. There is dance floor and music is wild and loud. This club is located in Grand hayat muscat and is crowded after 12.

Getting progressively better. Peaceful place for a beer and pub grub from 7 to 9pm then progressively noisy from then on. After a bad start when live bands were blocked, the disco is now a positive feature.

The Royal Opera House Muscat, constructed in 2011, is a stunning Islamic-Italianate-style complex that includes a concert theater and beautiful gardens. It hosts a variety of performances such as ballet, opera, and classical concerts by touring companies from around the globe. The architectural design resembles grand Omani palaces and features smooth limestone finishing with an imposing arched entryway leading into its grand hall adorned with gilded wooden ceilings and carved balconies.
One of the most incredible performances I’ve seen. The traditional architecture mixed with old world flair makes this a very unique and beautiful venue. Plácido Domingo was performing the evening I attended, which was a special treat. The staff is helpful and the directions are clear for seating. this is a smaller venue compared to some other opera houses I’ve been in so I would recommend Center section in either the first or second balcony or the floor if you can.
Josh S — Google review
The Royal Opera House Muscat is one of the most magnificent cultural landmarks in the region, combining breathtaking architecture with world-class artistry. From the very first glance, the building captivates visitors with its elegant design, where traditional Omani architectural elements harmoniously blend with modern sophistication. The gleaming white stone façade, intricate wooden details, and grand arches create an atmosphere of timeless luxury. Stepping inside is an experience on its own; the main hall is adorned with fine woodwork, delicate carvings, and a lighting system that enhances the majestic ambiance, perfectly complementing the exceptional performances staged within. Every corner of the opera house reflects precision, refinement, and an unwavering dedication to beauty. Beyond the main performance halls, the Royal Opera House offers a complete cultural and lifestyle experience. Visitors can indulge in fine dining restaurants that serve both international and local cuisines, making it a destination not only for music and art lovers but also for food enthusiasts seeking a refined culinary journey. For a more relaxed setting, there are chic cafés that provide the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before or after a show. Additionally, the venue features exclusive boutique shops offering elegant products and unique souvenirs, allowing guests to take home a memory that reflects the sophistication of the opera house. A visit to the Royal Opera House Muscat is more than just attending a concert or an opera—it is a holistic experience that combines culture, architecture, gastronomy, and leisure. It stands proudly as a symbol of Oman’s appreciation for art and heritage, while also embracing modern luxury and international standards. Without a doubt, it is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking elegance, inspiration, and an unforgettable cultural journey.

A great place to visit. We got a quick tour of the opera (up to 10 mins about history) and then we had a free time. It is a beautiful place, it is a pure definition of royalty. Worth seeing. Cost per person is 3.1 OMR, only by card.

The Royal Opera House Muscat, opened in 2011 under the vision of Sultan Qaboos, stands as a symbol of Oman’s love for arts and culture. The building beautifully blends traditional Omani architecture with modern design, making it one of the most iconic landmarks in the country. I couldn’t manage time to visit inside, but stopped for a while to take some photos. The architecture is truly stunning — elegant, detailed, and a masterpiece that reflects Oman’s rich heritage.

Restaurant
Trader Vic's at InterContinental Muscat is a popular Polynesian-themed restaurant and bar that offers a unique blend of dining and entertainment. During the week, it attracts a diverse crowd of expats and locals who come to enjoy its extensive menu of tiki-style cocktails. On weekends, the restaurant transforms into a lively salsa club with live music and dancing, drawing in both young partygoers and older expats.
Their steak is really good. It has very special smoky flavour, so highly recommend to try. They have big variety of cocktails and some of them are really huge!! It's a small swimming pool, but tastes nice. Good atmosphere, part of Intercontinental hotel. Attentive staff.
Lenka A — Google review
Keep on loving coming to this place every time wanted some Cuban vibes in Muscat. The food is so delicious. The menu just got updated a few minor changes but the place is spectacular for really nice wonderful night out with friends and family. The food is amazing The well Decorated drinks. It never gets old doesn’t matter when however the weekend is the best time to come over I enjoy the steak and a padThai. Those are my favorite dishes.
Ricky E — Google review
Trader Vic's Muscat does not disappoint when it comes to ambiance. The moment you step inside, you’re immediately transported to a Polynesian paradise. The dishes generally reflect a strong adherence to the Polynesian-inspired concept, but some may find the flavors a bit too familiar and not as daring as one might expect from an island-inspired venue. That said, the execution is generally solid. The prices at Trader Vic’s Muscat are on the higher end, reflecting both the premium location and the upscale experience. Trader Vic’s in Muscat provides a delicious blend of ambiance, cocktails, and a menu that satisfies cravings for both authenticity and indulgence. While the flavors may not be entirely groundbreaking, the restaurant’s ability to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience makes it a worthwhile destination.
Abhay C — Google review
Tasty, authentic, big portions This restaurant offers various dishes infused by French Polynesia. Everything is very tasty, but I want to highlight Pad Thai and Peri Peri Chicken - they are really cool! Good salads and appetizers, tasty desserts as well. The choice of cocktails is really overwhelming - so many Mai tai cocktail variations you’ve never seen before! They have big cocktail card, all drinks are served in an unusual way. The interior is very atmospheric - it feels like you’re really in French Polynesia. The restaurant has indoor seat and outdoor terrace as well. Staff is friendly and polite. There are live music evenings in the restaurant.
Ul G — Google review
Trader Vic’s never disappoints. Great food, excellent ambience, wonderful drinks, nice vibe. What else can one expect. If you are looking for a good night out, this should be your destination. There was also gluten free option.
Barnabas F — Google review

Amazing service , very friendly supervisor , Mr. Abdul always very welcoming and nice, my favorite is Lili, who always provides the best service and make me feel special. This time we were served by Abdul Lateef who was also really attentive. Overall love this place , atmosphere and amazing coctails

Karaoke night was fun. Alot of expats at this bar/restaurant. The food was good but the staff was not very attentive. Security there was quick to handle a situation. Overall I had a great time here
Mark — Google review
A great little find just next to the main hotel. A good range of beers and wines and good food too. More of a sports bar type of food than fine dining but good food anyway. Many screens to watch your favourite sport on. We watched an English FA cup game whilst we were there and the screens are big and of good quality. I would definitely return to this place. The staff were polite and friendly.

Mutrah Souq, also known as Al Dhalam Souq, is a traditional marketplace in Muscat that offers a wide array of Omani souvenirs, handicrafts, textiles, jewelry, spices and more. This historic bazaar features narrow alleys lined with shops selling various items and retains the charm of a traditional Arab market. Visitors can explore rows of timber stalls offering Indian and Omani artifacts as well as antique goods at jewelry and textile stores.
A vibrant and authentic market experience that offers a glimpse into Oman’s cultural and commercial heritage. Highly recommended for visitors seeking traditional charm. --- ✅ Positive Aspects: • Traditional atmosphere: The souq preserves the feel of old Arabian markets, with narrow alleys, wooden ceilings, and the scent of frankincense in the air. • Gold and handicrafts: A great place to explore Omani jewelry, handmade crafts, textiles, and souvenirs. • Local dining: Several restaurants and cafés nearby offer a chance to enjoy Omani and regional dishes. • Scenic location: Just steps away from the Corniche and the sea, making it easy to combine shopping with a relaxing waterfront stroll. • Cultural immersion: Ideal for travelers who want to experience local life, interact with shopkeepers, and discover unique items.
Wael N — Google review
A must visit spots for tourists. Most shops are so friendly. Good prices. Quality items. Can even found roman & gladiator's iron helmet here. Its an airconditioned souq. Great place to hide from hot sunny weather outside.
Bard P — Google review
That’s crazy old. Feels like I am at 1940. There are Indians trading everywhere. And Foreigners who are buying. Old fashioned shop. Clean only where is trading, if you come beyond the market it’s so dirty and dark. It’s safe, no worries at all. For experience it’s nice. Prices are highly overpriced and goods are there over-old and not fresh. Maybe some shops are genuine, you may bargain and get things really cheap. Very boring place. Cafes there don’t have any customer service. However it’s a heritage and it’s somehow beautiful and entertaining. There is gold market. Fancy and excited.
Kozlova O — Google review
The souq is one of Oman’s oldest and most vibrant markets, offering a captivating journey through the nation’s rich trading heritage. Overlooking the harbor, it dates back several centuries to a time when Muscat was a major port linking Arabia with India, Persia, and Africa. Locally known as “Souq Al Dhalam,” or “The Dark Market,” its narrow, winding lanes are shaded by wooden roofs and filled with the enchanting scents of frankincense, myrrh, spices, and oud. Inside, more than 800 shops sell a colorful mix of Omani silver jewelry, khanjars, handcrafted textiles, pottery, and perfumes, blending old traditions with modern touches. Originally built with palm leaves and mud walls, the souq has been carefully restored to preserve its authentic character while remaining a lively hub for both locals and visitors. Friendly vendors welcome you to browse and bargain, and as the day fades, the soft evening lights make it even more charming.
Abdulkarim A — Google review
Absolutely loved visiting Mutrah Souq! It’s a beautiful blend of tradition, culture, and color. The narrow lanes, friendly shopkeepers, and the mix of scents from frankincense, spices, and perfumes make it such a unique experience. You can find everything here — from traditional Omani souvenirs and jewelry to clothes and local handicrafts. The atmosphere is lively yet welcoming, and it really captures the spirit of old Muscat. A must-visit spot for anyone coming to Oman!
Zee — Google review
The Souq in Mutrah, the old commercial centre of Muscat is magical. It fronts the 'Corniche' the harbour where His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's dhow is anchored as well as cruise ships and Omani naval vessels. Mutrah souq offers just about everything of Omani origin, such as hessian bags of frankincense, pots of herbs and spices and dried out rose petals from Jebel Akdhar, as well as pungent perfumes such as bukhoor, all offered for sale by cheerful vendors, there are also pashminas and Omani caps, robes and turbans of every colour and of course khanjars both antique and brand new, the traditional ceremonial dagger of Oman. I picked up a lovely wooden whistle that plays Irish jigs melodiously!Mutrah also boasts a Gold Souq which is brimming with shops selling jewellery of all design styles. Muttrah Souq is a must-visit destination, known for its beautiful location and stunning sea view. It is one of Oman’s most famous traditional markets, offering a unique blend of authenticity and variety in traditional products. The prices are reasonable, and the market features a remarkable gold section with exquisite modern and classic designs. Walking through its narrow alleys filled with the rich scents of frankincense and spices is an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend visiting to explore its charm and discover the beauty of Omani craftsmanship. A truly exceptional market.
Kaushik M — Google review
The place looked beautiful with all the lights during the night time, but the only issue we faced was parking… it was hard to find a spot on the weekend. However, if you go a bit further, there’s a large parking area near the musical fountain.

🛍️ Mutrah Souq The Beating Heart of Old Muscat Mutrah Souq is a vibrant blend of history, culture, and charm truly the soul of Muscat. Walking through its narrow lanes filled with the scent of frankincense, spices, and oud feels like stepping back in time. Every corner tells a story from the glittering displays of traditional silver jewelry and colorful lamps to the stalls overflowing with handcrafted souvenirs and textiles. The friendly shopkeepers, the warm ambiance, and the gentle hum of bargaining add to the Souq’s old-world allure. It’s a place where tradition and modern life meet beautifully. A visit to Muscat wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the magic of Mutrah Souq where every turn is a new discovery and every scent, a memory. ✨

The Al Ghazal Pub is a popular sports bar in Muscat. It has a large bar and offers some of the best private lounges in Muscat as well as pool tables, which are busy most of the time. There is also dart board and televisions for sports fans to watch their favorite games.
Pleasant atmosphere Not a place with soft dimmed light and cosy atmosphere Recommended for friends gathering for a drink amd table pool

The staff make this place at ease. Heratha was great in service and to customize our grub per our needs. Ambience is a lil dark, yet cozy with ample seating options. A few screens to stream live sports. Happy hours until 8pm. A legend in Muscat over the decades. With staff ever so cheerful, a good place to wind down after work.

The pub used to be one of the best in town, but last week I visited the place it was terrible, not upto Intercontinental hotel standards. The waiter forgot to order my drink and I had to go myself to order it, after waiting for more than 15 minutes. The cocktail was so bad it was unbelievable.

We had a wonderful visit to Mutrah Corniche, now even more delightful with the new musical fountain that adds charm for evenings. It’s an ideal hangout spot for families and kids, offering scenic sea views, artful walkways, and soothing music that enhances the atmosphere. The well-maintained promenade is perfect for strolling, relaxing, and enjoying the coastal breeze. Just a heads-up: parking can be quite difficult during weekend rush hours, so visiting by taxi or earlier in the day is a good idea. Overall, a lovely family-friendly destination with views and entertainment for all ages.

The highlight of the Corniche is the stunning view of the Sultan’s royal yacht, often anchored nearby, adding a touch of royal elegance to the scenery. With the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, Mutrah Corniche offers one of the most picturesque and serene experiences in Muscat.

Happy hour at 10pm!!! Great cocktails and service, well made and very much appreciated. The grapefruit cocktail is particularly good. The bar just needs a few more people in order to create a nice environment. Perhaps the hotels can promote?

Zero service- just because am not white skinned no one served me in the right manner!!! And this is in all of their restaurants we went to, we walked from bab lounge ( closed) their seafood restaurant ( where we waited for almost 20 mins with no service), and then finally came to to the piano lounge where i was severed a below average drink which I apologized and asked if it could be changed and the bar manger was soooo RUDE!!!! - I don’t know why because I was overly nice and apologized myself. Also, i tried speaking to him and he just walked away. 5 star hospitality for sure! السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته The mosque is truly stunning and impressive — one of the most beautiful I’ve ever visited. It’s a special place, definitely worth a visit and a prayer. Women can visit in the morning from 9 AM. After the afternoon prayer, they cannot enter the main prayer hall, but there is a comfortable designated area for women to pray.

One of the finest architecture in world. Majestic and beautiful. This place exudes omani grandeur and is a mixture of Islamic architectures all over world. Women need to cover head and dress appropriately to cover the whole body. Men should avoid shorts. Non muslims can enter only 8 AM to 11 AM except Friday. Take atleast 1.5 hours in hand to explore the palace and garden. Main done is behind the small done. Make sure to have a water bottle as lots of things to be explored. Muscat’s most iconic landmark, surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and traditional Omani architecture, it offers a perfect backdrop for photos. Though visitors cannot enter inside, the view from outside is truly worth it. The area is clean, peaceful, and gives a royal feel!
Shahufa S — Google review
Al Alam Palace is one of the main official residences of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and stands as an important symbol of Oman’s governance and history. The original structure was built over 200 years ago by Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, and the current palace was rebuilt in 1972. The building features a distinctive blue and gold facade and is framed by the historic Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali, dating back to the 16th century. Together, they form a setting that reflects both Muscat’s defensive past and its modern architectural identity. Although the palace is not open to visitors, the public area in front of it offers a clear view and is well maintained. The walkway leading to the gates is clean and organized, making it a pleasant short visit, especially for those interested in Omani history and culture. A brief stop here provides a good sense of the country’s royal heritage and the surrounding Old Muscat area.

Al Alam Palace is also a must-visit attraction in Muscat. Though visitors are not allowed inside the palace grounds, the exterior itself is stunning and offers excellent photo opportunities. The palace, with its striking blue and gold façade, is one of the six royal residences of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The surrounding area is beautifully maintained, with clean walkways and impressive architecture all around. I visited at night as well — the palace looked magnificent under the lights, creating a truly royal and peaceful atmosphere.
Laiju L — Google review
We visited Al Alam Palace in Muscat, and while we didn’t get to go inside, the exterior was still an impressive sight. Built in the 1970s, Al Alam Palace serves as the ceremonial palace of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Oman’s current ruler. The palace stands as a symbol of Oman's heritage, with its stunning blend of traditional Islamic and modern architectural styles. The blue and gold accents on the façade are especially striking and contrast beautifully with the surrounding natural landscape, including the rugged hills and tranquil water nearby. The palace is located in a picturesque area, right next to the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts, which add to its historic significance. The surrounding gardens and the views of the coastline make it an ideal spot for photos and a peaceful visit, but unfortunately, access to the interior is restricted. While you can’t go inside, it’s still worth stopping by to admire the architecture and learn a bit about Oman's history and royal heritage. The palace has long been a symbol of Oman’s modernization and continued stability, and while we could only view it from the outside, it’s clear why it holds such importance. The National Museum of Oman is located just opposite to the main entrance.

The National Museum of Oman, established in 2016, is a must-visit destination for those interested in the history and culture of Oman. It boasts an extensive collection that tells the comprehensive story of the nation through tens of thousands of artifacts. From pre-Modern Islamic architecture to its role in the region and East Africa during colonial times, as well as its modern economic resurgence since 1970, this museum offers a deep dive into Oman's rich heritage.
I visited the National Museum of Oman with guests from India, and it was a wonderful experience. The museum is a must-visit for anyone wanting to explore Omani culture, especially expats. It offers a deep insight into Oman’s history and heritage, making it a very educational and interesting place. The museum is well-maintained, not crowded, and an ideal tourist spot. For Omanis, entry is free. For expats with a resident card, there is a different fee structure, and tourists without a resident card pay a separate fee. I recommend visiting before 4 pm as it closes after that. Overall, I had a great experience and left very happy. Highly recommend!😍

Visiting the Oman Museum was a truly enriching and enjoyable experience. The museum is beautifully designed, both architecturally and in the way exhibits are presented. Each section takes you on a journey through different parts of Oman’s rich history—from ancient civilizations to modern developments—offering a well-curated glimpse into the country’s heritage, culture, and achievements. What stood out to me most was the thoughtful and engaging layout of the exhibits. Artifacts, visuals, and multimedia elements are displayed in a way that’s easy to follow, yet informative and captivating. It felt immersive without being overwhelming. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Their friendliness added to the overall positive atmosphere of the museum. It was also a nice surprise to have access to free internet throughout the visit, which made it convenient to look up more information or share the experience in real time. Another great feature is that photography is allowed, which meant I could capture and keep memories of some of my favorite displays. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking to understand more about Oman’s identity, this museum is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended for visitors of all ages.

Bait Al Zubair Museum, also known as the House of Al Zubair, is a cultural museum in Muscat, Oman. It was originally a private home and has been open to the public since 1998. The museum features a wide range of Omani relics including weapons, costumes, traditional wear, handicrafts, and artwork. Visitors can explore exhibitions on war history and maritime history while also enjoying displays of old cannons and jewelry.
It was one of the owned houses of Sheikh Ali Zubair back in 1914 it was a gathering place of elites. Now this house has been built in a private museum owned by Zubair Corporation. There is an entry ticket as well. It has different portions. If you are history lover or culture explorer. Don’t forget to give it a visit if you are in Muscat.

This museum definitely was the most attractive place I visited during my journey in Oman. If you wanna know about the Omani culture and principles don’t hesitate to visit this place. The staff are very welcome and also knowledgeable and you can feel free to ask them anything about the museum.

I was here today and spent a couple of hours in the somewhat sprawling complex. I found the Omani artefact displays interesting and I really appreciated the English placards explaining the history of men and women dress, frankincense, jewellery and other ethnographic aspects. The art in one gallery wasn’t to my taste (especially the AI “art” ugh and sadly only one floor of a three story art gallery was open. So I dinked a star for that bc I shouldn’t have to pay full admission fee - a whopping 9 euros!- with closed exhibits. That said, the model village outside is adorable and the old photos and prints of Muscat from a century and older are fascinating. The restaurant and café on site are a bit expensive. But staff was overall lovely, and I’m grateful they let me leave a bag at the front desk. I’d still recommend this place to get a good sense of Omani cultures and history.

I had the pleasure of visiting Bait Al Zubair, where I was guided on a fascinating tour by Yousef Khamies. He took me on a deep dive into Oman’s rich history, exploring how the country evolved and the remarkable culture and traditions that define it. Yousef shared insights into the intricate details of Omani attire, explaining how every element holds significance and purpose. For instance, the shape of the turban and the design of women’s clothing reflect the wearer’s region or city of origin. The tour also took me through various sections of the museum, where I had the chance to explore impressive collections of stamps, coins, books, jewelry, weapons and more. To conclude the experience, we enjoyed a traditional serving of Omani coffee and dates, which was a perfect ending to an unforgettable visit. I left with a deep admiration for the Omani people, and a renewed appreciation for their beautiful culture. I highly recommend this experience!

It is located in the old Muscat. So it is a wonderful opportunity to see the old historical buildings there. Even though it's a small museum, it has many interesting items. You can learn about traditional Omani clothes and jewelry.

At Caramel Restaurant & Lounge, guests can enjoy a variety of delicious food options, perfect for unwinding with friends. The restaurant provides a warm and inviting ambience, so guests can relax and have a fun evening. In addition to great food and drink selections, Caramel also offers ample outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy the outdoors.
We visited Caramel Restaurant & Lounge for dinner yesterday with a friend and it was great! This is a fusion restaurant located within the Royal Opera House complex and covers a menu of various european and asian cuisines. The drinks menu is also mixed with many US alcohols also present. The staff were excellent with the friendly & courteous approach and also provided us with some reserved seating by the balcony. We went for the herb roasted chicken while my wife went for the sea bream with a lot of customisations as she has some allergies. The restaurant gets busy after 10 and we liked the vibe of the place with mood lighting and music. Pricing-wise, it's average for restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the visit and highly recommended!

Nice place, but the food and service were poor. The food was very salty, and we had to wait a long time for it to be replaced. In the end, we just took it to go.

Mexican restaurant
Pavo Real, which means peacock in English, is a Mexican restaurant located in Muscat, Oman. The venue offers a variety of Mexican dishes and provides an authentic dining experience similar to that of Mexican restaurants in the USA. Guests can enjoy complimentary chips and salsa with their meals, with the salsa being particularly flavorful. The restaurant also features a lively atmosphere with 70s and 80s American music playing at a pleasant volume.
The live music just gets you high🤩 The food is of amazing quality and the quantity was just filling. Amazing spot for people who love lively place. Very vegetarian friendly as well. And the service too was great!!!
Pooja J — Google review
One of the Best Mexican Spots in Muscat! If you're craving some solid Tex-Mex in Muscat, this is the place to go. The food is seriously tasty, the portions are huge (trust me—don’t get greedy like I did and over-order), and the prices are super reasonable. Drinks are also easy on the wallet, and the vibe is awesome. The music is great, especially if you're into karaoke—it really adds to the fun. Just a heads-up though, it gets loud, so talking to the person next to you might feel like a shouting match. It’s a busy spot, so booking a table in advance is a good idea if you want to sit and chill. I walked in and luckily grabbed a seat at the bar, which worked out just fine. Can’t wait to go back for another round of that delicious Fiesta Mexicana. Muchas gracias, amigos!

The decor was beautiful and authentic, with colorful tiles, and traditional Mexican artwork adorning the walls. The lively atmosphere was enhanced by upbeat music in the background, creating a perfect balance between casual dining and festive energy. Whether you’re going for a cozy dinner or celebrating with friends, the ambiance was warm, welcoming, and fun.

This is one of the few older and licensed restaurants in Muscat (allowed to serve alcohol and cocktails) located in madina qaboos is an authentic Mexican restaurant which serves awesome food and ambience and also live band playing music. Must try the Asado de tira, tamales chicken and qaesadilla chicken.

Nice and relaxed ambiance paired with the right music. Margaritas were great although a bit too much crushed ice made it a bit difficult to sip. The food was good and so was the service.

Castle
Perched atop a hill in Muscat's old quarter, Mutrah Fort offers a glimpse into the strategic significance of the area. Built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, it played a crucial role in defending against Ottoman attacks. The fort provides a historical tour inside and boasts panoramic views of Mutrah Corniche from its vantage point.
A very nice fortress with quite a nice view. You will need to climb some stairs and pay a small entrance fee. Inside the fortress there are chairs and tables as well as a cafeteria where you can get a coffee or a soft drink to cool off. I recommend!
Dimitris A — Google review
This historic fort is very old and reflects the rich heritage of the country. Visitors need to climb stairs to explore it, but it’s worth the effort. The inside of the fort is fascinating, and the view from the top is truly stunning.
KY A — Google review
Easy to get to, not massive so a quick tour is all you need. Great views and a dinky little coffee shop near the top. Nice experience overall. It's really about the view, not much to do within the fort itself, maybe most of that has been locked off?
Naveed S — Google review
It’s a peaceful and photogenic spot, perfect for a quick visit while exploring Old Muscat. The souk is nearby.. in the fort they don’t allow water bottles which was disappointing.. the fort is best during sunsent time..
Rudrakshi S — Google review
This fort is basically Oman’s way of saying, “We’ve got walls, and we know how to use them.” Climb up and you get a killer view of the harbor and corniche—perfect for pretending you’re starring in a historical epic. The walls are old, the stones are impressive, and the history whispers (or maybe shouts) at you from every corner. Pro tip: wear comfy shoes unless you enjoy feeling like a medieval mountain goat.
Zee — Google review
Beautiful place with lots of history. I recommend you go during December or during the winter month because they have lots of activities there and live music. The history is amazing. The scenes are amazing. The weather in winter time is amazing. And thr Omani people are amazing. This is my 6th time visiting and I always come back here.

The Mutrah Castle is a lovely spot to visit while exploring Muscat. 🏰 It may be small, but it’s well worth the stop for the good views over the city, the port, and the sea. The location carries a sense of history, and walking around gives you a glimpse into Oman’s heritage. It’s a simple visit, but the scenery and atmosphere make it worthwhile. A nice place to take photos, enjoy the view, and connect with the history of Mutrah.

Reservation - I called the restaurant and the call was answered within three rings. I requested a table on the verandah/balcony to watch the sunset. Parking - Sufficient parking available as it is part of a Hotel Welcome - We were welcomed by the restaurant supervisor/manager and were escorted to our table. A beautiful table with a view of the sunset, ocean and swimming pool. Drinks - We ordered margaritas, coffee martini and an old-fashioned cocktail (Whiskey) - Tasty, delightful, refreshing and good presentation Service - Jane, Uttam, Mudaher (Apologies if spelling is incorrect) were good waiters. Only one order was forgotten, but came witin a few minutes after notifying the waiter. Well Done! Venue - The inside seating of the restaurant is air-conditioned with a beautiful display of the bar, rustic, welcoming and cozy. The outside seating has wonderful views of the ocean, swimming pool and sunset. Food - We ordered the Chicken, Steak and nachos. Very tasty, well prepared and excellent presentation - Well done to the kitchen staff! Overall - Beautiful location, great service, tasty food, great cocktails and drinks selection, perfect for a romantic occasion or a gathering of friends and family. I will definitely be returning.

One of my favourite spots in Muscat for fish and chips. I keep coming back because theirs is, in my opinion, the best in town – crispy, fresh, and always satisfying. The view from the balcony is another highlight, with a stunning overlook of Qurum beach that adds to the whole experience. Great food, great setting.

Duke’s Bar at Crowne Plaza Muscat is hands down the best spot in Muscat to enjoy a sunset. The view is absolutely breathtaking – a perfect backdrop as the sun dips into the horizon. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, and the service was excellent throughout. I tried the Hoegaarden beer, and it was served perfectly chilled – an absolute delight. Marina Bandar Al Rowdha is the perfect starting point for an exciting dolphin watching experience along Muscat's vibrant coast. The area is known for its healthy corals and diverse marine life, including spinner, bottlenose, and common dolphins. From May to October, lucky visitors might even spot whale sharks, false killer whales, humpback whales, orcas, and Arabian and blue whales.
This is the place to go for early morning Dolphin ferry ride. This is an amazing experience that anyone visiting Oman should go to. Children will enjoy it a lot too. Even though you are on a speed boat it's very safe. The entire ride and experience takes a couple of hours. The boat is even equipped with a restroom and they serve water. The harbour also has restaurants. Highly recommended.

The whole 2 hours is worth spending. We went with Coral ocean tours agency. The yacht was very clean and hygiene..all safety measures were included..light refreshments also provided..The staff was very friendly and good.

A very beautiful place where you could have a yacht tour as there are some companies that would give the tours with fair prices. The sea tour would take you to see the dolphins and it will also take you to a calm place where you swim peacefully. You could also walk along the marina, only a small walk, and there are few restaurants. I recommend going to this place either early in the morning or during winter months. Never recommending this place in the summer, otherwise you will get severly hit by sun.

Great place to have dinner in winter. Best for couples or small groups of up to 6. The ambiance and service was really good. While the food was very delicious and plated well- the portions were small for the price paid. Dish of the day was the chicken skewers and the dragon roll maki. Recommended
Qabas H — Google review
Yesterday for the first time we had a very bad experience with Chedi normally it's one of the best whenever we have been there before. We visited for tea and sandwich and were seated by pool cabana area however we felt very racist behavior. We were waiting for our order even after 7 but others were given water and warm bread to begin with - nothing to us.. even our order came late and wasn't upto the mark as usually chedi food is great. The moroccan tea was not good at all and was served in French press.. Of the whole order only the fries were good. Please let me clarify none of the other guests were fasting. Also the place was practically empty and we were just enjoying the ambience but service came and cleared our plates with the final bill indirectly asking us to leave. Even when we had ordered sheesha from huqqa (outsourced) service; that also wasn't at par. Left us with an unusually bitter experience especially when we came with our family.

One of the longest pool I have ever seen.
Milos M — Google review
While my overall evaluation of The Chedi hotel is 5 stars, this place, which they dare to call restaurant, is considerably below their standard. First of all, maybe due to the particular position nearby the long pool, everything (table, chairs, floor) was completely wet, and humidity was quite annoying. Food was not bad, but clients are obliged to eat it in an almost complete darkness, therefore I had to use my telephone light to see what I was eating. Furthermore, the tables are low, not suitable for serving a lunch or dinner but just useful if you put a drink on them. And they don't serve fingerfood but dishes to be eaten using fork and knife. I had to eat bent on my belly, in a very inconfondibile and vomit giving position. Prices, for such a torture, are simply crazy. Maybe my evaluation would have been less severe, if they had told me it was a wine bar and not a restaurant.

An Unforgettable Experience at Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar, Muscat From the moment we arrived at Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar, we were captivated by the exceptional service and warm welcome. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out, making the experience feel personal and memorable. The decor of the restaurant is nothing short of breathtaking. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between chic sophistication and relaxed elegance, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. The blend of modern design and subtle Middle Eastern influences gives the space a unique and inviting character that enhances the dining experience. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the stunning view from the terrace. Overlooking Muscat's coastline, it offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas imaginable. Whether you're sipping a cocktail or enjoying a delicious meal, the view is a feast for the eyes, making the experience even more unforgettable. Every detail, from the food to the ambiance, exudes perfection. If you're in Muscat, this is undoubtedly a must-visit destination. Highly recommended! PS. Make sure your outfit isn't too casual or sporty :-)

Well, if you are at W as a guess you will be surprise that you can wear shorts but not sandals. It is interesting that been a hotel by the beach does not allow that. Traveling for business, quite often you want to take a shower after doing some exercises and have a quick dinner… and go to bed; however, in this case you need to dress up, probably in this case, you might want to go to more friendly places. The staff can be a little rude enforcing the rule.

The service could have been a bit more attentive especially when it's not during busy hours, as it does come off somewhat professional if we are waiting around longer than usual for some help when there are only a few other occupied tables in the establishment; however, the experience was overall good, regardless - it might have just been that night. The aesthetic is very modern and blue-looking. They don't have an abundance of menu options, but they have just enough for this type of place. We enjoyed our food and their lovely presentations. The prices are, of course, high, as expected. They have some events here at times, so just make sure to check on those beforehand. From what I recall, they are usually closed on Tuesdays.

Perfect place to hang on with friends. Best cocktail in the town 🍹. The place is W Muscat hotel. Ambiance was perfect and good. The price of food and cocktails are expensive. Recommended for cocktails and drinks. It may cost around per person 20 to 30 riyals. Nice place to relax a weekend nights… highly recommended place for cocktail lovers…. 🙂

The restaurant boasts a lovely ambiance, especially in the outer seating area overlooking the pool, making it perfect for a relaxing evening meal. Guests have praised the attentive and friendly staff, particularly mentioning Farhana for her exceptional service. The menu features divine dishes such as mango salad and Shua, along with delectable options like kingfish kebab and Omani lamb.
We came all the way from the Netherlands to eat here. The food was amazing. 10/10. The hospitality is also perfect. Thankyou for everything. We will come back. Most delicious food in Muscat

Very delicious Iranian food with a beautiful view, wonderful service. We had the tasting menu for 17.500 OMR per person, but we were quite surprised to see that almost 20.000 OMR were added to the bill (tourist fee, taxes, etc)… otherwise it’s an excellent restaurant

It is often referred to as the "lungs of Muscat" due to its lush greenery and natural beauty. The park features a boating lake, the Sultan Qaboos Rose Garden, fountains, an artificial waterfall, and a small amusement park for kids.
Very beautiful and huge park. We went on June and we were alone in the park. Beautiful waterfall. Some space to rest or walk. Worth a visit !

A very beautiful park, both adults and kids can enjoy. There is an amusement park once you walk down. There are plenty of greenery and lovely views. There is a restaurant and small stalls. There are toilets. There are plenty of flies and mosquitos, though, so be prepared.

Qurum Natural Park is an absolute gem in the heart of Muscat! 🌿✨ The lush greenery, peaceful lake, and beautifully maintained walking paths make it a perfect escape from the city’s hustle. The park is clean, family-friendly, and offers something for everyone — from relaxing picnics to evening strolls. The views, especially during sunset, are simply breathtaking. A true example of nature’s beauty and Omani hospitality combined. 🌸💚 Definitely a 5-star experience and a must-visit spot in Muscat! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Qurum National Park is one of Muscat’s most beautiful and peaceful green spaces — a true escape from the busy city life. The park is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of walking paths, shaded areas, and beautifully landscaped gardens. It’s a perfect spot for families, children, and anyone who loves nature and outdoor relaxation. The artificial lake, fountains, and flower gardens make the park very scenic, especially in the evenings when the weather cools down. There are also play areas for kids, benches to sit and enjoy the view, and lots of open space for picnics or short walks. Whether you visit for a morning walk, a family outing, or just to unwind in nature, Qurum National Park offers a calm and refreshing atmosphere that everyone will enjoy. A must-visit landmark for both residents and tourists in Muscat

One of the best gardens in Oman . My childhood place . Even if it is a large garden it has restrooms everywhere . They sell the best shawarms even if they are not a restaurant
Sherin G — Google review
A beautiful large park which has a small lake, beautiful walking paths, numerous benches and picnic tables under the shade, a small amphitheater, and a spectacular man-made waterfall. Entrance is free and it's a great place to walk, sit under a shady tree and have a picnic, watch the kids play on one of several free playgrounds, or go to the back of the park to walk around the lake or see the waterfall. There are several water closets in the park, clean and well maintained. There is also a fancy restaurant near the main entrance. A great place for walking, or bring the family to play and relax in the shade. If you're in this part of Muscat and you like parks, I would certainly recommend this one.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Al Mirani Fort, a 16th-century Portuguese construction, stands proudly at Muscat Harbour, offering picturesque views of the strategic waterfront. Although not open to the public, its imposing presence is deeply intertwined with the city's history and has been depicted in numerous lithographs. Alongside Al Jalali Fort, it was built to safeguard the harbor from Ottoman threats. These historic forts are among the most renowned attractions in Oman and are a must-visit for travelers exploring Old Muscat.
The fort is pretty well maintained some areas still closed. Recently was open to public. Have beautiful views of the palace. Very beautiful fort with a museum inside have a fort coffee. Can spend great time exploring.
Nasser B — Google review
Great historical site with fantastic views over the sea and Old Muscat. The fort is well preserved and you can walk inside to explore its old structure and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Staff were helpful and informative. It’s not very large, so the visit doesn’t take long, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re in the area. A solid cultural stop—just wish there was a bit more signage or detailed info inside.
Luca — Google review
A small yet charming historical fort offering stunning views and easy access to nearby landmarks. A great option for those staying within Muscat. --- ✅ Positive Aspects: • Scenic views: Overlooks the sea, mountains, and the Royal Palace, making it a visually rich and memorable stop. • Compact and accessible: Unlike larger forts outside the city, Al Mirani is easy to reach and explore without a long drive. • Nearby attractions: Located close to the National Museum and the Royal Palace, allowing visitors to enjoy multiple cultural sites in one trip. • Parking availability: Convenient parking makes the visit smooth and hassle-free. --- ❌ Considerations: • Limited size: Being a smaller fort, it may not offer extensive exploration compared to larger historical sites.
Wael N — Google review
The entry fee is 4 OMR a bit high, but the fort is really well organized and worth a visit. You’ll need about 40 minutes to explore the whole place. There’s also a nice coffee shop on top with marvelous views. perfect spot to relax and take it all in!
Sain — Google review
The fort was impressive and holds a rich historical background. However, be prepared for a lot of stairs if you’re not in good shape, this might be challenging. Also, watch your step, as the pathways can be uneven and there’s a risk of slipping. That said, the staff at the fort are helpful and can assist in case of any emergency. As a local, I recommend visiting this place if you have some extra time and money. Beyond its history, the fort offers a stunning 360-degree view of Old Muscat, Al Alam Palace, and the sea, it’s truly worth it.
Bader A — Google review
It has nice view of Arabian sea, sultan palace and other fort, however there is nothing to see inside the fort. You can finish the fort in 10 min and entry charges are 11 riyal. It is too expensive.
Arvind S — Google review
Al Mirani castle is situated near Al Alam Royal palace, Muscat. It was built in the 1580s by the Portuguese to defend Muscat's coastline. The place is known for Architectural Marvels and its thick walls and watchtowers. Good parking space. Make a visit for an enchanting view of the Palace, sea with mountains !!!
Sushil K — Google review
The views are great. The elevators make it easy as well for people with reduced mobility. The 5.5 omr ticket per adult resident is too much. (The 5y old went free). Best timing 1h before sunset to get all the different settings. You dont need more than 1h up there unless there is an event. There was a nice breeze

It was very bad experience, we came from shangrilla hotel expecting to have something good, however we waited around an hour to receive our main dish, it was rude from the stuff to give food similar to what we have ordered to tables next by, after we have spoken multiple times with different waiters, they promised to provide food soon, but it wasn’t true, I assume they treat people based on their clothes and nationality. To be honest, the food was good, but I would never suggest this restaurant to anyone.

I had a wonderful experience at Copper Chimney, and a big part of that was thanks to the exceptional service provided by Subhashis. He gave us thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences and made sure everything was served to perfection. His attention to detail and genuine care for the guests stood out throughout our visit. Dining at Copper Chimney is always a treat, but Subhashis made this visit especially memorable. (Translated by Google) We were very disappointed. After looking for it for a long time (the guide didn't mention that it was at the top of the marina hotel, we finally had to decide to call). even the boss seemed surprised by our arrival. We felt pleasantly disorientated at first by the improbable side of the address recommended in an old guide: A small terrace with unfinished electrical wires, peeling paint on the ceiling, a menu limited to 4 dishes, a beautiful view despite the really dirty windproof windows. we finally became disillusioned. The food was nothing terrible, and the wait was long, but long….. the first dish arrived after an hour… Well ok we drank beers…..

The Muscat Gate Museum is a historical treasure located within the fortified gate of Muscat's old city wall. Built in 1995, this modern structure houses a museum that offers a rich collection of exhibits on Omani history, architecture, and development. Visitors can explore archaeological texts, ancient paintings depicting the historical and prehistoric ages of Oman, as well as modern-day artworks showcasing the country's evolution from Sultan Qabawi to the late nineties.
A beautiful tiny museum and a great place to beat the heat (the AC does a great job). There is a curator working to answer any questions who speaks perfect English. The posters on the wall have plenty of information regarding Muscats history. At the top of the tower are 2 parks, one is very tiny and the other much bigger. You can sit in the shade and relax for awhile. There is water closet on the top floor open to the public. I spent about 20 minutes and enjoyed the history lesson a d the vool temps.

Today 21 Sep 2025, it close but you can free to enjoy the view from the gate.
Joe A — Google review
This gate marks the western entrance to the old city. Historic accounts mention in 1624 the building of an earthen land wall was started. Previously the city was mainly protected by two forts at the sea side that was most vulnerable to attack by Ottomans and Portuguese. The latter after having established their power in Muscat were challenged by Omani tribes living in the interior (landside). in 1650 the Portuguese were ousted. What started as an earthen wall was upgraded through the ages. The gate structure houses a museum on the upper floor. We could not enter as the venue was closed. The views from the Gate were good. We returned a couple of hours later and the facility was still closed.
Kaushik M — Google review
This is not so big museum but it's a gem. We totally enjoyed it there. The sitting place under the tree was heavenly. Cool breeze from the sea was mind blowing weather. Although no one was there, gate was open, we went inside, but lights were off, couldn’t find switches to turn it on. Recommend if you have enough time in Muscat.

Ibai A — Google review
The Oman Air Business Lounge at Muscat Airport was very impressive with its spacious layout and luxurious amenities. While most aspects of the lounge are excellent, my experience at their restaurant-style dining area was deeply disappointing due to what appeared to be discriminatory service. Despite being seated for over 5 minutes and repeatedly trying to get attention, including raising my hand towards a group of servers, I was completely ignored. What made this particularly concerning was watching new Arab guests who arrived after me receive immediate service - both a single diner seated at the table right in front of me and an elderly couple beside me were attended to within seconds of sitting down. As someone of Chinese Asian descent, I eventually had to walk to the front and directly approach the waitstaff to place my order. This type of discriminatory treatment is unacceptable in any setting, but especially so in an international business class lounge where all passengers deserve equal respect and attention. However, it's worth noting that my experience at other areas of the lounge, particularly with the bar staff, was excellent. The lounge itself offers outstanding amenities and comfort - it's just unfortunate that the dining service failed to maintain the same professional standards. While I can recommend the lounge for its facilities and most of its services, I believe the restaurant section's service standards need significant improvement to ensure all guests receive equal treatment regardless of their ethnicity.

Al Jalali Fort, also known as Ash Sharqiya Fort, is a historic sea fort in Muscat, Oman. Built by the Portuguese in the 1500s, it served as a jail and refuge for Omani royals. Today, it has been transformed into a heritage private museum. History and archaeology enthusiasts will appreciate its rich past during the Portuguese occupation. The fort is just 20 km from the city center and is one of the must-visit places in Muscat.
Al Jalali Fort, perched atop a rocky hill overlooking the Gulf of Oman, is a stunning historic landmark in Old Muscat. Its strategic location offers breathtaking views of the harbor, the surrounding mountains, and the city’s iconic whitewashed buildings. The fort, built in the 16th century by the Portuguese, stands as a testament to Oman’s rich history and its importance in maritime trade. One of the unique aspects of Al Jalali Fort is its inaccessibility by land—visitors can only approach it by sea. While the interior is not always open to the public, the exterior architecture, with its thick stone walls and watchtowers, provides a glimpse into the fort’s defensive past. The area around the fort is well-preserved, with beautiful pathways and nearby attractions like Al Mirani Fort and the Sultan’s Palace adding to the historic charm. An evening walk around Old Muscat, especially near Al Jalali Fort, offers a mesmerizing experience as the fort and nearby landmarks light up, creating a magical ambiance. A visit to this iconic fort is highly recommended for history enthusiasts and anyone looking to explore Oman’s cultural heritage.

A chill out pub with great pizza! Pleasantly surprised at the food and interior decor which was cozy and spacious. Thank you to the staff for their service and helpfulness to get me connected. I would definitely come here again if I ever pass through Muscat airport.

Nice bar with sports playing. Food was decent bar food standard. Staff very nice. One star off 5 because of the insane prices of the beer.

Very good spot of the airport to have a meal or drinks. Alcoholic beverages are also available. It is quiet nice. Have its own designated smoking area. Will bring you a countryside bar to watch your favorite sport live. Their food is really great. I like the ambience, you can see the view of the planes.

Nice place inside of the Muscat airport, definitely better than the food court but also quite expensive. Don’t expect too much from the food but they have good beet on tap and some TVs with sports channels.
Stevo T — Google review
Tried the Heineken beer. Good ambience and music. Beer rate is little expensive.
Leby V — Google review
Don't go there if you wish to have a beer, it's 10 OMR = 25€ for 0,5l. I am shocked! The prices are not shown at the bar. QR code of the menu didn't work.
Silvia M — Google review
Tickerdaze is a nice place before your flight. Has lots of electric plugs to charge phone or laptop. Reception was excellent. Staff are friendly and attentive. They have lots of food diversity but mainly western menu. Iots if drink diversity. Warning: knives and forks are not sharp due to airport security regulations so avoid steaks or so.

Amazing genuine hospitality by danuka the Nepalese bar manager. Charming and attentive. Brings life into the bar. Will definitely come back. One of the only places which adds salt and lemon to the crudites
