The Blackburne Arms Gastro Pub and Hotel is a traditional corner pub located in the beautiful Georgian Quarter of Liverpool. It offers modern guestrooms with a minimalist design, and guests can enjoy breakfast during weekend stays. The pub is known for serving delicious fresh food, specializing in hearty comfort dishes such as traditional fish and chips, which are particularly popular due to their generous portion size.
My partner and I stopped by here for dinner and a pint and had a great time. The staff are lovely, chatty and helpful. My partner had a double cheeseburger and said it was delicious, he could even have another one right now as I write this😂 I had the fish and chips (which was lovely) and overall what stood out was the accompaniments that come out with the main which made the whole meal fantastic. The red cabbage my partner had and the tartar sauce I had were delicious. The interior is lovely but we sat outside as it was a hot day, and it was pleasant, despite being by the road, it was not noisy or busy when we went. There was a good selection of cask ales and draft beers which was great.

Great atmospheric gastro-pub. Great selection of ales and beers, wines and spirits. Comfortable seats and big tables. We had sunday roast, it was great. Honest portions, beautifully presented and very tasty. We also had a Sticky Toffe Pudding and it was just a cherry on top. All staff, young lad behind bar and all floor girls were smiling, helpful and kind. We were served by Izzy and she was perfect. We'll be back, many, many times.

Terrible food poisoning. Five out of Seven in our group, who had the beef Sunday lunch Sept 7th, were made very sick. The remaining two having different variations on the roast dinner, with no ill effects. The lunch was delicious and, while a couple of us thought it could have been hotter, it wasnt cold, so didn’t really give it much thought. However, the next day, we were all in varying degrees of discomfort with my own experience very painful and lasting about 36 hours. I emailed the pub on Monday 8th, and again later in the week when I'd had no response. Emily emailed me back to ask for a phone number, but I've not yet heard from the owner, as indicated would happen. I don't ask for anything except a response, nor suggest anything more than they review the way they are keeping and storing their food in preparation and serving. It's shocking, and rather disappointing, to get no response at all.

I never send food back ever. And I never complain. But at £18.95 for a roast dinner I had to. We had been to The Blackburne years ago for a roast and it was amazing. It also has a good reputation for it roasts through word of mouth. But this time around it was potentially the worst roast dinner I've ever had. This was a late Father's Day treat for my dad so it's a shame we had such a bad experience really. The first red flag should have been the starters. The choice was minimal and most involved some sort of dip or spread with toast. The only other option was cold meats. No soup of the day, mushrooms or anything that really required any effort on their part to cook. So we opted out of starters and went straight for the roast and some sides. We both ordered the beef with a side of pigs in blanket and stuffing balls to share. The next red flag for me was how quick it came out...maybe 5 minutes later. I'm all for efficient service and I realise a lot of things are prepped in advance but it's always a bit suspicious when the food comes out almost immediately for me. The roast was presented all on top of each other so you can't really see what it's like til you've separated everything on the plate (another thing I'm not a massive fan of just put it all out on the plate not in a big pile). However, it was immediately clear to me that the pigs in blanket were not cooked. They were white in colour. I tried to eat one and when I cut through it, it was quite clearly very under done. I then tried to cut a potato...something else that needed longer on the boil before roasting as it was rock hard inside The cabbage also tasted like it had spent minimum time in hot water. My dad expressed his was bad and at that point I knew I had to complain because he will eat anything. It's not really hard to mess a roast up but everything on that plate was cooked so poorly. We got both meals re done and delivered fresh...was it better? Erm it was edible. Was it worth 19 pound? Absolutely not. Myself and my dad are plate cleaners we will finish our meal every time but I gave up trying to enjoy it and left some of mine as did my dad. They kept coming over asking if it was better and I'd just shrug and say it's okay. As I say I do hate complaining and I didn't want to say again this is not good food as I felt like everyone around us was thinking we were being awkward. But it was the worst Sunday roast I've ever had the misfortune to pay for. It's worth pointing out they did take my dad's lunch off the bill, however, it's a good job I still checked the items and not just the total as they had also put a £7.75 glass of Shiraz onto it that we did not order. That just topped the whole experience off really. I was so disappointed as I was looking forward to this amazing roast dinner that I've read about in the Echo etc. and it appears other people were getting a better service than us around us. The couple next to us got decently browned and crispy pigs in blanket first time round. Or maybe people prefer hard roasties and raw cabbage. Maybe we were just unlucky. But we won't be returning.

Had the best Sunday lunch here. Pub Sunday lunches are rarely as good as what you would cook at home, but this one was. Everything was cooked to perfection. Staff were lovely and they were playing some great music too.

We ended up here on a Wednesday evening with our friends when we were staying in Liverpool for a couple of nights. The booking was made by their son and his girlfriend in advance of our stay. Oddly enough, we had popped our heads inside it during a wander around the Georgian Quarter a couple of years before, having read the pub also has rooms available. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. Lots of it too. I had the battered fish, but I struggled as I recently had a tooth extracted a few days before the trip so it was a slow process for me. I would have loved to try the lamb but I definitely think there will be another visit in the future 🙂 Sorry, no photos on this occasion.

We went for a roast on Sunday to mark my mum’s 70th and it was brilliant - best roast I’ve had in a pub, really good quality and lots of it. The staff were also amazing and made my mum feel really special - would defo recommend and defo be back soon. Thanks so much to the Blackburne team 😃

Buyers Club is a vibrant neighborhood bar, eatery, and event space located in the Cathedral Quarter of Liverpool. It offers an airy open back yard for outdoor events during sunny months and a cozy indoor space for colder days. The venue hosts resident DJs and jazz nights, creating a lively atmosphere. With its eclectic selection of wines, cocktails, craft beers, and premium spirits, Buyers Club provides plenty of drink options to complement its fabulous food menu.
The pasta was gorgeous and the desserts were lovely too. Really good service from staff my daughter is gluten free and she said her pasta was lovely, pasta was also 50% off in January which was a bonus. Will definitely return in the future and try different dishes.

Absolutely unbelievable. I rarely write reviews, let alone good reviews. But this place is outstanding. Perfect service and nice atmosphere, not at all pretentious and extremely inviting. The food is next level. Beef shin ragu is a dream and the lasagne bites restored my faith in humanity. The polenta fries gave me hope of a better future. Nice staff, great drinks and also very well priced. Couldn't recommend this place any more. Sincerely, your reliable neighbourhood foodie.

Our friends have been talking about the vegan Cacio e Pepe Butter Beans for years and we eventually got to try them and they did not disappoint! All the food we had was spot on and very vegan friendly. Will definitely be back.
James M — Google review
Excellent restaurant hidden off the main street but well worth finding. The inside is well set out and tastefully done, with a small restaurant area as you walk in next to a quick service bar eating area, and a larger restaurant through the other side beyond the kitchen. The outside is amazing and would be fab in the warmer months but with a few heaters and large canopies it would be great all year round. We sat in the bar area and had delicious pizza and drinks. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely worth eating here.

We held our wedding reception at Buyers in September and it was perfect! Ella, Mel and the team were amazing and helped us plan every detail from welcome drinks to speeches outside and a beautiful three course meal (some of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’d ever had). We also chose some lovely wine from R&H and paired it with the food in advance of the day. On the day, everything ran smoothly and was meticulously organised, the florist was able to come in and do the arrangements, the food came out piping hot (no mean feat for 50 people) and the DJ could set up without issue. The cocktails and drinks were amazing and our guests had a brilliant time. It felt like the whole Buyers team were our pals who were part of the wedding (and put up with us even when we stayed dancing until closing). If you want a city wedding with amazing food, wine and atmosphere, go to Buyers! Thanks Ella, Mel and the team ❤️

Came by for a late lunch on a recommendation. You MUST order the Cacio e Pepe butter beans. (But share as a starter as massive!) had a pizza which was really good. Excellent service from Nicole overall particularly when she let me know service was already in optimal on the receipt when I said to add a tenner.

Wonderful dinner spot to go to if visiting Liverpool or looking for a good date spot. The pasta and pizza were delicious! The staff were friendly and tentative as well.
Taylor R — Google review
Would NOT recommend. We got the beef shin and nduja pasta. The beef shin pasta was tiny (a lot smaller than the ndjua pasta), the pasta itself was too thick and the sauce was average at best. Really disappointing for £18 and the most expensive pasta. The nduja pasta had a crumb on top which had an over powering liquorice taste. The pasta was very unpleasant. Overall way too overpriced for very below average food. I feel royally mugged off. I was genuinely really looking forward to the meal. Will not recommend to anyone.

Located in Liverpool, The Monro is a traditional gastropub offering a well-curated menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients. The decor exudes comfort with its rough wooden floors, gleaming copper tables, and a polished bar. It is known for its cozy ambiance and friendly staff. The pub boasts an impressive selection of beers, cocktails, soft drinks, and spirits. Renowned for its unique interior design that includes old beer advertising and open fires for a warm atmosphere during winter.
After my flight to Dublin was cancelled last month, my plan of having my first Guinness (as an adult) in Ireland was ruined! I was told this was the best place for a pint of Guinness in Liverpool! Having not touched a pint of the blackstuff since i was 14 (my first experience was 2 pints after white lightening and a can of tennents super - it did not end well!) I was cautious. However, the pint was cold and creamy which went down a treat! I only had the one but really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and the pub itself is awesome. There are lots of quirky items on the walls and floors and ceilings missing.. The real fire was burning and everyone was cozy chatting away. Highly reccommended 👌
Chris T — Google review
Atmospheric old pub with great local beers and a smokey fire to make you feel at home. Ignore the holes in the ceiling and mega-concrete supports, check out the figureheads beneath.
Alan G — Google review
Did not expect the fireplace with real wood. There is a burned wood flavor in the air that makes this place guite unique. Beside the floors you can see through.
B W — Google review
What a quirky place. The ceiling is falling down but in a strange way it adds to the old charm. The staff are brilliant, great Guinness and decent prices
Marc — Google review
So lucky to have a pub like this pouring quality cask less than £4.00 a pint; add to this the hot pies and sausage rolls plus Sky Sports News makes this an irresistible proposition.
Mark N — Google review
Fabulous pub with huge range of beers and traditional feel. Highly recommended
Craig C — Google review
Really nice scouse pub that's well worth seeking out, great beers & an atmosphere that smells of Christmas. Quality staff & a quirky vibe too Nice place
Stevie B — Google review
Discovered this place whilst staying across the road at the holiday inn. What a lovely pub! Really cosy, nice ambience and friendly staff! Lots of beers on tap, decent cocktail menu and good selection of soft drinks and spirits! We really liked the decor with all the old beer advertising. Open fires were cosy and would be lovely to sit by in winter. Didn’t eat there but there were sausage rolls available. Wish we lived in Liverpool so could visit all the time - we will be back!

Delifonseca Dockside is a hidden gem in Liverpool, offering a unique dining experience with an ever-changing blackboard menu. It's known for its innovative global snacking menu that reflects the city's cosmopolitan vibe. The food hall stocks a variety of gluten-free products, catering to those with dietary restrictions. This gourmet one-stop-shop also features a seasonal restaurant where you can enjoy delicious fish, chicken, and beef dishes.
We visited Delifonseca on Valentine’s Day, and it was a true gastronomic delight! We were impressed by the unique combination of ingredients and their creative presentation – every dish surprised us with its flavors and textures. The duck was simply divine: tender, juicy, and not chewy at all, while the salmon literally melted in our mouths. But my absolute favorite dish was the clams with chorizo – an incredible flavor combination! And then came the dessert, which turned out to be such a generous portion that, for the first time in my life, it felt like too much. It was meant for two, but we could barely finish it! The prices are mid-range, but every penny is absolutely worth it. The service, ambiance, and quality of the food were outstanding. We’ll definitely be coming back!🤩👍🏻🤤

Had a lovely meal today. I had fish and chips (gourmet chippy style) and Mrs had the Welsh Rarebit with Sticky Toffee pud afterward. Always excellent food and service at Delifonseca. Lovely staff who always make a fuss of our dog…🦮

£16.50 for a sandwich an a few chips. Waited 40 mins and order was wrong and what was delivered was lukewarm. Used to be good here but it’s gone off. Nowhere near enough staff on duty
Luke H — Google review
I have to say I’ve had a lovely experience today, I give a 3 star review before because a member of staff was really rude, had no customer service skills and threw our food down without any acknowledgment of our gratitude and the rudeness to my gran was a bit of a limit for me, BUT I went today with my husband and gran and I have to say the food was 10/10, staff were so lovely and polite and it was a great experience! No sight of the rude waitress so that was a bonus, the head waiter/floor manager was lovely and the 2 young waiters that were serving were brilliant! I’ve been coming here for about 5 years and service is usually great but this one waitress (lady with curly hair from what I can recall) was consistently rude for a couple of visits but I’m glad I give the place a go again.

Thank you Delifonseca. First time here and I can say this is a very welcoming place, with great friendly staff, even though we were over 45 minutes late. We booked a table for 15 people, the food was absolutely amazing and the service was first class. This is a fantastic restaurant, we had no complaints whatsoever and would definitely recommend everyone to try here if you have not already. Thank you to all the staff for your service and your kindness. Regards Ste

Second visit in a year whilst seeing family. Pleasant environment, friendly staff and great value/great quality food. Too well fed to visit their food stalls!

Excellent deli with a great choice of good quality foods. The salad boxes are very good value and are a meal in themselves. Only had the breakfast/ brunch in the restaurant but choices and quality were good. Always friendly staff.

Could be so much better. It's disappointing that the fruit, veg and eggs are not organic. Looks like the type of shop where you'd expect to find those things. Glass bottled water and accepting cash payments would also be a big improvement. Keep poisoned food off the shelves and keep cash alive.

Hanover Street Social is a spacious venue featuring banquettes, bistro tables, and an open kitchen. It offers an eclectic all-day menu and drinks. Every Sunday, the restaurant hosts the Sunday Social, offering traditional roast combinations with classic trimmings. Located near Liverpool One and major attractions like the Albert Dock, it's a convenient brunch spot for tourists.
I had the Honey & Chilli crispy chicken wings, 40oz min Steak & Baileys cheesecake 3 course @£24.95 The chicken wings are one of the best I've had anywhere. Right amount of sweet & spicy, meat juicy n soft, fell right of the wings. Steak & fries were average. Cheesecake was very rich n creamy. Staff were friendly and attentive. I would come back again.

Left a bit disappointed, went with my family on a Sunday afternoon and had 2 courses for £26.95. My son had double Pattie burger which he thoroughly enjoyed, me and my wife had a gammon and roast beef Sunday dinner which was good but nothing spectacular and felt it was very overpriced. Although the service was very good, the restaurant was cold inside which wasn’t very pleasant. I don’t think we will be returning in a hurry which is a shame because we have always enjoyed the Hannover street social.

I’ve been here too many times to count. Yet i have never had one bad experience here. The decor of the restaurant is casual but also welcoming and vibrant. The service has been spot on every time. Helpful and friendly towards its guests. The food is to die for. I do very much recommend the sea bass, hummus and chargrilled pita, pork belly, and the gnocchi. They’re the ones i’ve personally tried, so if they don’t interest you, then they are more options off the menu for you to try. All in all i can’t fault anything about Hanover Street Social. I would most certainly book ahead, as it does get busy between Lunch time and Dinner. Without further ado, i would suggest you come here with friends and family and enjoy the venue.
Matty M — Google review
A Hidden Gem in Liverpool You’ll Want to Revisit" I’ve visited this spot a few times on weeknights, and it’s never disappointed. If you’re heading there with a big group, definitely book ahead — it gets busy (and for good reason!). The staff are warm and welcoming, the portions are generous, and every dish is cooked fresh with flavors that hit just right. On Mondays and Thursdays, they offer an unbeatable deal: two courses and a bottle of wine — excellent value for money. If you go, do yourself a favor and try the honey and chilli glazed wings to start. They’re the kind of starter that makes you pause mid-bite just to say, “Wow.” Whether you’re after a quick bite or a relaxed evening, this is one Liverpool spot worth dropping by again and again.
Buki O — Google review
What great experience in the centre of Liverpool! From the moment we arrived staff were warm and welcoming. The food arrived promptly and was delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was was great in a modern and well-designed restaurant. The toilets were also immaculate. We'll definitely be back!

Avoid on Sunday. If you’re not after Sunday Roast you will pay more for a burger or fish just because it’s Sunday and part of 2/3 course. Absolute scam and I have not seen other restaurants doing this. Also optional tip on the bill is making it awkward when it’s time to pay. Whoever is manager of this place should look into changing these things.
Pan M — Google review
The food at Hanover Street Social is absolutely delicious! The service is outstanding, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It’s also family-friendly, so I'll definitely be bringing my friends here for food and drinks next time.

Went for Sunday Lunch yesterday really disappointed food overpriced for the standard my Chicken was awful my daughter’s beef full of fat. Poor man who served us was running around whilst the other staff seemed more interested in setting up new tables whilst we waited 20 mins for our plates to be cleared. We have been here before and it’s always been lovely but give it a miss on a Sunday and go next door cheaper and better quality. We also e-mailed before to ask for a cake for my daughter’s special occasion but they forgot.

Here in Liverpool for a quick city visit and our guide recommend us this place for traditional home taste food. We ordered an appetizer and couple of the Scouses and it was delicious in general with a fair price and perfect portions. We all enjoyed our time at Ma Boyles. The food and service very good . Two of our party had scouse one in a scouse pie and the other had a scouse Cottage pie. We learnt why the residents of Liverpool are called scousers. This is after a special stew the poor used to eat often called scouse. Ma Boyles is the best place to try it. And its worth it as its rich with meat and lots of veg.

I was recommended this place and I’m so glad I went, I got the classic scouse meal and it felt like a warm hug. Their wine selection is really good as well. The service was great and the waitresses were super nice. I would highly recommend this place!

I popped into Ma Boyle’s for a quick bite and left completely impressed. I had the classic Scouse hearty, rich, and absolutely authentic, just what I was hoping for. Paired it with a well-made coffee, which was surprisingly good for a pub. The atmosphere really makes this place shine warm, laid-back, and full of character. The music was spot-on just the right balance between chill and upbeat and the staff were genuinely amazing, welcoming, attentive, and full of local charm. It’s tucked away near the waterfront but feels like a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a real Liverpool experience.

Great dog friendly pub with proper pub food - I got the blind scouse and it was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere in here too. And the sticky toffee pudding was lovely! Highly recommend

Absolutely wonderful ‘Sunday Roast’ dinner! In my family, I’m the queen of Yorkshire puddings, but these were a revelation! Airy and delightful. The beef was fork tender. Gravy was a bit salty, but personally I like it that way. Highly recommend Ma Boyle’s !

The Bastion Restaurant, located within The Shankly Hotel, offers a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying classic British cuisine, cocktails, and wine. It also provides a unique opportunity to explore the history of Liverpool Football Club's renowned manager, Bill Shankly. The restaurant features an impressive menu and delightful afternoon tea options. Additionally, it is known for its incredible Sunday roast with a variety of offerings including a family feast to share.
The Bastion Restaurant and bar is based inside of the Shankly Hotel so is easy to find and is a great place to eat. We couldn't decide where to go for an evening meal so as we were staying at the Shankly decided to eat there, the prices were average for the restaurants in the area and it smelt great. When we went downstairs we were seated immediately and given a drinks menu, and an early bird menu as well as the main one, so we both chose from the early bird. The food came quickly, as did the drinks, and was cooked to perfection, we even managed to get to the sweet section which we don't normally and enjoyed every morsel. So when we went to pay for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 sweet a large wine and a pint of lemonade and orange juice it came to less than £40 as you get 20% discount if staying in the hotel, wow what an absolute bargain. As is the hotel the decor is football related and quirky but not in your face and was an absolute joy. 10/10. Ps just loved the toilets 😍

was absolutely blown away by the service from Hannah!! Her customer service skills truly deserve an oscar, the way she took my order left me gobsmacked, absolutely unreal. Never met a server with as much grace and decorum than Hannah. Whoever hired her truly deserves a raise for this perfect pick!

Absolutely swanky, lovely staff and atmosphere. No space invaders and importantly- delicious food and mocktails as we don't drink..We got a great deal for the Shankley Hotel via Wowcher, which was used. We has a 2 course meal with a cocktail for £30-£40. The setting is beautiful and right in the heart of our great Liverpool city

First of all, I am in no way shape or form a football fan! I came here with my 76 year old mother purely for somewhere to eat close to where we are staying. That being said, the atmosphere is lovely, the memorabilia is actually subtle, tasteful and interesting even for me! The food, well that's another story! Nothing subtle about fantastic food at amazingly good prices. £25 pp for the set menu was more than worth the money. The only mild downside for me personally was the TV screen showing sky sports in the restaurant. I totally get that this is a football themed establishment and the sound was turned down, just a distraction in my own humble opinion, I'm sure most patrons would be perfectly happy. All in all a huge thumbs up from me and mum!

Went for afternoon tea on sat 5/10/24 as a group of 5adults 2children. We had been 2 yrs earlier and it was amazing with food served on little picnic benches. However: to my disappointment, this time - the sandwiches (ham and mustard which tasted spoiled, cheese and onion tasted mediocre, curry wrap very bland and capers on bruscetta which never have I ever been served at afternoon tea??? was vile) were curling a little as if they had been prepped the day before and not stored correctly. The cakes were standard if not basic. Due to this we ordered 2 sets of fries and later on asked for 2 more portions which were not delivered but which wrre added to the bill (which we asked for removal of). Onto the service...the staff were very friendly but considering we had unlimited tea... we had to ask twice for refills and were the only guests in the restaurant for an hour so unsure why staff were not more prompt to offer refill. The atmosphere made it as considering we were alone, they had a DJ and brazilian dancers on and the dancers welcomed my 4 yr old and were happy to chat to her and have photos taken. Unfortunately would not be going back as not worth £20 a head.

Fabulous meal and tasty drinks. Starters and mains were all delicious and felt like good value. Including 2 drinks for each of us came to 50.

My wife and I have just enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea at the Shankly hotel, along with copious amounts of tea and coffee, there was a glass of Prosecco each, a selection of sandwiches, rolls, and wraps, plus an array of mini cakes, topped off with scones, accompanied by jam and cream, well worth the money outlay. All this in a restaurant housed in a beautiful listed building situated in the heart of Liverpool's business quarter, the walls decorated with scores of memorabilia dedicated to the great man's life and career. I would definitely recommend a visit, we were even asked if we required a doggy bag to take home the left-overs, but it wasn't necessary as there was nothing left to take! Oh, and the service was excellent too, quick, without being intrusive. I advise you to treat yourself to a visit in the near future, you won't regret it

We had our booking for 4pm Friday 23rd August 2024. Was really excited to come as I’ve heard great things about the shankly and felt as if it was a luxury to go there, my mum and sister had been the night before and said that it was one of the best meals that they have had and that it was a very personal experience not bombarded with people or a noisy environment. I regret to say that my experience it not what I was expecting and didn’t live up to expectations. The entrance it’s self beautiful so aesthetic, the restaurant the same lit up with lamps and decor it did seem dull very dimmed and the atmosphere the same no other customers in sight no music it was a very awkward atmosphere. Me and my partner arrived 10 minutes before our booking and were sat straight instantly but not in a way I expected we were not shown to our seat or shown the menu just pointed to a table behind a plant and nothing else was said, we sat ourselves and waited for our order to be taken the menu is small but definitely something for everyone being as it is a well known hotel and restaurant I thought that there would be more things in place like water pitchers or clean napkins with every course but there wasn’t, there was training being held while we waited the whole time I would have hated to be in the young women’s shoes who was being trained I mean I don’t know how high there standards are for training new staff but I would have cried if I was her. Or order was taken by a nice young man who told us the soup of the day and gave a brief explanation of the menu before we ordered. We got the spicy sweetcorn soup for starters and beef burger and chicken burger for mains. We waited about 20 minutes for our starter when it came out I was going to be a hit or miss like anything you havnt tried before you don’t know whether you’ll like it, the soup was completely covered in olive oil to the point were it was curdling and splitting the soup and had this thick skin forming on the top every time it was mixed the taste was ok but the texture was just off. Our cocktails were in sort of champagne flutes which I thought was strange as pictures posted have sort of bowl glasses. I felt really awkward trying to take photos I felt like all eyes were on us like some sort of fish in a tank not very relaxing. The mains came out well presented nothing could be said about the beef burger apart from that it was delicious and chips were good. The same with the chicken burger apart from the chicken itself it was sort f grizzly with alot of veins which I don’t particularly like.

This cosy bar and restaurant serves delicious Sunday lunches in Liverpool. Every dish is bursting with flavour, including succulent chicken breasts with apricot and sage stuffing, pork belly with homemade apple and maple sauce, 12-hour slow roasted beef brisket, salmon fillet with a crab and herb crust, or mushroom and spinach nut roast.
🤩 wow what can I say . Held our beautiful Wedding yesterday at Fred’s. Adam and his amazing team were fantastic from helping us plan and to make sure our day was perfect 👌 which it was . I booked the Pillbox for my 50th birthday celebration. It was a fabulous venue. Really good size and set up and having a separate well stocked bar was great. The staff were brilliant on the night and the food came out on time and was delicious. The sound system is very versatile, we used it to play our own playlist through a device. Overall would highly recommend for an event.

My first proper experience of a jazz bar and this was great. Lots of seating available with a good range of drinks on offer too. The band on Friday evening was particularly good and I look forward to visiting here again the next time I'm in Liverpool.

Fredricks offered a delightful nut roast dinner that truly impressed. The nut roast was perfectly cooked, with a rich, savory flavor and a satisfying, hearty texture. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned, complementing the main dish beautifully. The gravy was rich and flavorful, adding an extra layer of comfort to the meal. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying and filling experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Fredricks provided a delicious, wholesome meal that I'd highly recommend to anyone craving a comforting and flavorful roast dinner.

We had our wedding reception at Frederiks and honestly, it was the best decision we made. It suited us perfectly – relaxed and not too fussy. The space looked beautiful with all the fairy lights, and She's Electric Events came in to add a few extra touches which made it feel even more special. In the run-up, both Adam and Nina were amazing. Adam was fantastic at explaining how the evening would run, giving us different seating options and really listening to what we wanted. I’d said I wanted everyone to be able to sit down for part of the evening but also have space for dancing later. He suggested a mix of trestle tables and couches at the back, which worked so well. Nina was also brilliant – always quick to reply to emails and happy to have a phone call to talk things through, which really put me at ease. The food was another big highlight. We had loads of great menu options to choose from, and on the day it was absolutely perfect – exactly the kind of food we love. Every single guest, from the oldest at 85 to the youngest at 11, loved it. Not a single complaint, and people couldn’t believe how much food there was! I didn’t get any photos of the food because I was too busy enjoying it – which says everything really. Later on, they brought out bowls of chips for the evening guests which went down a treat. We played our own music through our phones and Frederiks had an adaptor ready so we could easily switch between them – really handy and took the stress out of it. The bar staff were amazing, friendly, quick and totally on it all night. There was never a queue, which everyone commented on. The manager that evening was fantastic too. Partway through, I mentioned we were ready to open up the dancefloor a bit more, and without any fuss, he and the bar staff moved some of the tables while I stayed with our guests – which I really appreciated. The whole evening had such a chilled and welcoming feel. Everything ran smoothly, everyone felt comfortable, and we didn’t have a single thing to worry about. When we went back later in the week to collect a few bits we’d forgotten, they’d kept everything safe for us which was just another lovely touch. I’d recommend Frederiks to anyone planning a wedding reception or party. It felt so “us” and we honestly wouldn’t change a thing.

We had our wedding reception at Frederik’s yesterday and it was truly the best day of our lives! The team couldn’t have done more for us; the day flowed perfectly, the food was beautiful and the team were so attentive and friendly! All our guests have commented on what a lovely venue it was and how helpful Adam and his team were. We just want to say a massive thank you for making the most important day of our lives so perfect and making us feel special ❤️ P.S we didn’t get any photos of the food because it was too nice to wait for! There were options for all the guests and everyone was catered for regardless of preference or allergies

Fab vibe, great drinks choice from craft ales to cocktails. The bar staff welcomed you in and made everyone who stumbled in from heavy rain, feel like they were at home chilling with funky music. Will defo go back every time we visit Liverpool. We’d come back to stay, just so we could drink here again. Also great venue for a private party.

We had our wedding party here and honestly I can’t put into enough words how great the staff and team were to us! The food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere, everything was amazing. Hawksmoor Liverpool is a stunning restaurant located in the Grade II-listed India Buildings, offering prime cuts of matured beef, seafood, and other British classics. Inspired by the grand optimism of the 1920s, it provides a striking environment for an exceptional dining experience. Known for its charcoal-grilled steaks, famous Sunday roasts, and award-winning cocktails, Hawksmoor Liverpool is celebrated for its impressive offerings.
Probably been about 4-5 times in the last 2 years and it’s consistently exceptional. I have never had a bad meal here. The staff and food service is excellent. Myself and my friends are into our wine and one of the main things that draws us back is the corkage, but they also have a great wine list - which pair perfectly with the contrasting seafood heavy starters and steaks for mains. Easily the best (steak) restaurant in Liverpool. One musn’t forget to mention the building - what an unbelievable transformation of a listed building space - in particular the bar area is just magical.

We had our first year anniversary meal here in July and it was the most special evening - we’d been waiting to come all year. The servers were all so attentive and helpful and really invested in the food/experience. We were served by ?Beau I think! He was excellent!!! We were talked through the menu and all our questions were answered honestly and in a helpful manner - all of the food we got was absolutely stunning and Beau helped us pick the right portion sizes and explained the menu. The whole experience was made really special for us, we got a free dessert and a cocktail to try - we loved it! Thank you guys.

A Memorable Dining Experience - Delicious Food & Genuine Service We had a fantastic time dining here - from start to finish, everything was spot on. The food was absolutely delicious. The steak stood out in particular - incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and served with some of the tastiest sauces we've had in a long time. The chips were hands-down the best we've tried - crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, just how they should be. Starters and dessert were lovely with flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Every course made us feel good - comfort food done with real skill. The atmosphere had an old-school charm with nice tables and classic touches. All the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive without being fake - you could tell they genuinely cared about the service. If there’s anything that could be improved, it would be the entrance area - it doesn’t quite reflect the warmth and quality of what’s inside. Adding a few period-appropriate tunes could also enhance the overall vibe and complement the classic style nicely. All in all, a fantastic experience - we’ll definitely be returning!

A vibrant steak place upon entering the restaurant Ordered a 450g steak to share between adult and a child. Steak was well cook on medium, oyster with bone marrow was good. Still warm when serve and could feel the juiciness of the oyster on eating. Delicious. Fries were a little disappointing as it was too dry. Could not feel the potato like. Nice and vibrant environment but the noise level can be kind of loud where it is difficult to hear any conversation as the seating arrangement is close.

Hawksmoor Liverpool proves that fine dining doesn’t have to come with a fine dining price tag. Set in a beautifully restored building just off Castle Street, it’s the kind of place that feels special the moment you walk in – all warm lighting, polished wood, and that low hum of content diners. For £19.50, the two-course menu was exceptional from start to finish. The Hawksmoor Caesar was everything a proper Caesar should be – crisp, cold lettuce, a punchy anchovy dressing, and plenty of parmesan. Simple, classic, and perfectly done. The roast hake with vinegar peppers was even better: beautifully cooked fish with flaky flesh and golden edges, paired with tangy peppers that lifted the whole dish. The buttered greens on the side were fresh, vibrant, and indulgent without being heavy. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering, and the restaurant itself had that signature Hawksmoor warmth – elegant but comfortable. At under £20 for food of this standard, it’s outstanding value. I’d go back in a heartbeat to try the rest of the menu – though I was disappointed to see they’ve taken the baked sweet potato off the menu! One star removed! Bring back the sweet potato!

The best meal of my life! My wife and I visited Hawksmoor while on our mini-moon, booking a couple of hours before we went. When we arrived they had printed a custom menu for us with congratulations on our honeymoon printed on it, they gave us a complimentary drink to celebrate and wrote a message of "Happy Honeymoon" on the tray that our after dinner whiskeys were served on. The staff were attentive and lovely, the atmosphere was calm and sophisticated but welcoming. The food was absolutely incredible, we shared the scallops to start and a chateaubriand for our main with sides of tunworth mash (delicious, cheesy mash), garlic mushrooms and beef dripping fries. The steak was so tender, it felt easier to cut through than the mushrooms, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, it paired beautifully with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. We will definitely be returning here, it is the best steak we've ever had and overall we had such a lovely evening.

Took my parents as a celebration and as usual everything was fantastic! Certainly not the cheapest place to go but everything is high quality and the steaks were cooked to perfection (450g sirloin). Top tip: when asked if you want water, make sure to specify tap water otherwise it’s £6 a bottle.

South American restaurant
Gaucho Liverpool has quickly established itself as a standout destination for steak lovers in the city, offering an unforgettable culinary experience since its debut last year. Nestled in a stunning Grade II-listed building on Water Street, this Argentinian steakhouse invites diners to indulge in a variety of mouthwatering dishes. The brunch menu is particularly enticing, featuring free-flowing starters like empanadas and burrata with cherry tomato jam, alongside hearty mains such as their signature brunch burger or classic steak and eggs.
Stunning in every way. The staff are exceptional, especially our waitress Christina. This is a true experience from start to finish. The food is outstanding and the fillet steak is by far the best I've ever had. The perfect place for a special occasion, you won't be disappointed.

The best steak I’ve ever had! From the moment you walk through the door, you can tell you’re in for a fantastic meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the aroma of the food immediately sets the tone for the evening. Our server, Stephen, was excellent – attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. There was a minor mix-up with our wine, but it was handled quickly and professionally. The true highlight, however, was the food. My rare ribeye was cooked to perfection – tender, flavourful, and absolutely mouthwatering. If you’re visiting, the steaks are a must-try. We will certainly be returning.

Despite living in Cambridge here, Liverpool is my second home. During the football season, I’m in Liverpool at least once a fortnight. Me and one of my good friends have a list of restaurants that we want to try throughout the season. Sometimes it’s quick eats, sometimes it’s cheap eats and then other times it’s treat yourself. Yesterday was a treat yourself day. With the match being at 8 pm, we had the opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner before the match and we booked a table here. As you may know if you read my reviews, I am an electric wheelchair user. For some reason I hadn’t researched whether this place had access. On arrival, I was presented with a lot of steps. But within seconds, the staff put down a ramp and made Access extremely easy. Once inside there was a spacious Accessible toilet and lots of circulation space. The tables were really easy to access and there were a great variety of places to sit in. It was a little bit chilly every time the main door opened. The service was excellent, and the food was really good. It’s a little bit on the pricey side. But to be honest, eating out nowadays is not a cheap affair. The food came quickly and was really well presented. The steak was cooked perfectly.

The Restaurant is situated within the imposing historic building in the city centre, close to the primary commercial district of Liverpool. The architecture boasts striking features, including its sky-high ceilings and marble columns. The grand and opulent bar greets you in the centre of this old converted bank building. The venue offers a spacious seating area, and from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with utmost attention and courtesy. My friend treated me to a birthday meal, and while the food was enjoyable, it did not quite reach the exceptional level. The atmosphere was electric, with a lively party vibe. We were seated near the DJ booth, where we were treated to great music. I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary birthday dessert, which was a lovely gesture. However, one aspect that spoiled the experience for me was the persistent requests from the waitress throughout the evening to write glowing reviews of her service. This unprofessional behaviour was quite disappointing.

We went to this restaurant on 11/10/25 and it was absolutely incredible. Nick was our server and he was fabulous, giving us recommendations for our food and guidance on wine pairings. The food was immaculate, the wine was lovely, and everything was perfect.
Brodie T — Google review
Gaucho was all that I hoped it would be. The building at the top of water Street was very imposing, the inside more so. The service, thank you, Hristina, especially was top-notch. The food, Argentinian steak in our case was brilliantly explained, excellently grilled and an absolute pleasure to eat. We started with a couple of excellent chimichurri margaritas with a bowl of olives. This was followed by our starters of tuna tartare and an excellent gazpacho soup. The mains arrived with our Ken Forrester Pinotage, an brilliant bottle of wine to go with all steaks. It had been a special occasion, but I honestly feel that the Gaucho is not just for special occasions, admittedly you can spend an awful lot for an awful lot of great stake, but they did have for less than £25 a three course luncheon (no wine) which is bound to attract a good number of people. Thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours at the Gaucho and we will undoubtedly go again it’s going to be our number one stop for steak.

We visited Gaucho Liverpool to celebrate our anniversary, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion, and the fillet steak we ordered was cooked to perfection — tender, flavourful, and exactly what we were hoping for. While the new drinks menu wasn’t entirely to our taste, our server was incredibly accommodating and kindly swapped one of our drinks without any fuss. We were also treated to a complimentary dessert, which made the evening feel even more special. Overall, a memorable night with great food and excellent service — we truly felt looked after. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Dockleaf, located in the Baltic Triangle, is a popular spot known for its smartly curated selection of off-the-radar ales and delicious food by SKAUS. Really enjoyed this place in the middle of the Baltic, they serve nice food and cocktails. We sat outside in the sunshine, they also have an upstairs. We tried the Hugo cocktail, a variation of G&T accompanied with a croque monsieur toast and garlic and parmesan fries. They seemed to have been understaffed when we went, we had to order everything at the bar where only two people were working and the queue to order was quite long. But it was also a busy day, and everything was tasty, so still enjoyed it.

The food was delicious, and the Santa Claus was hysterical, adding so much fun to the night. As always, the staff were amazing, making the experience even better. I absolutely love this place, and I also come here regularly for their incredible roast dinners. Can't recommend it enough!

Nestled along the picturesque docklands of Liverpool, Malmaison Liverpool is a contemporary hotel that exudes elegance and charm. With its polished rooms and suites, guests can indulge in comfort while enjoying stunning views of the River Mersey. The hotel's brasserie offers a delightful culinary experience, featuring an array of bite-sized desserts and classic afternoon tea options that are perfect for any occasion.
Our stay at Malmaison was fantastic! The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, with beautifully stylish decor. The location is perfect—close to everything you need. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and we really appreciated that the staff asked about any allergens. The service was excellent throughout. Malmaison is always our favourite, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend to everyone!

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Had a very warm welcome when we arrived. We booked a standard double Room which included breakfast.. Room was very clean, we didnt hear anything or see anybody on our floor(5th) Room was quite dark but that was its style. Bed was comfy and had no issues with the bathroom, we soon worked out how to flush the toilet!! All the staff we spoke too were freindly Breakfast had a lovely choice, nice to have hot food cooked to order and not sitting under a hot lamp with hordes of people getting in the way. Location was really good, short walk to museums and liverpool one. A bit further to Liverpool Lime Street, but the receptionist kindly offered to book us a taxi which turned up on time for our return journey. One tip get some taxi numbers from Reception. Try and avoid getting in a Black Cab we think we were ripped off big time. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Much better than the experience we had at a well known chain of hotels where we stayed 2 years ago. Would not hesitate to stay at Malmaison again. Also fantastic hotel to stay if going on a cruise ,right oppisite cruise terminal.

The Malmaison was the perfect venue for our wedding in June. Cristina and the team were on top of everything and made things so easy for us to organise, all communication was really quick and everything was just so easy. The day ran so smoothly, from serving of the welcome drinks, food and evening entertainment. The food served by the hotel was also top quality. We organised everything through the hotel including the room decoration & DJ (the DJ they organised was honestly fantastic). We really couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you so much to Cristina & all staff.

Very spacious room, lots of USB charging points within the room. Decor wasn't as nice as it had seemed in photos. Wardrobe was difficult to open and needs some attention. Bathroom lovely with a big bath, powerful wet room style shower. View from the window was a car park and skip. Window blind didn't fully fit so room was light early on. Although on return to our room we could hear a lot of noise from the nearby rooms, once in the room we couldn't hear anything which was great. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was fabulous however unfortunately couldn't say the same for the breakfast. The choice was varied and plenty on offer however I was served the worst poached eggs I've ever seen! The white of the egg was so shrivelled up it was stringy and practically non existent. The yoke somehow seemed inflated and liquid (other than the yolk) came out of it when cutting into it. To top it off they were stone cold which was not a pleasant taste! The rest of the breakfast was warm, just cold eggs. Had we not included breakfast in the price of our stay I would have been very unhappy paying £23 for what I was served. Not sure I'd stay again.

Stayed for a weekend getaway and cannot fault them. Very welcoming atmosphere and the staff very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing in the restaurant. Peaceful waterfront location and quick walk into the centre. Will certainly visit here again.

Just came home from having High tea with mum and two children. One has a peanut allergy and I couldn't thank the staff enough for being all over the allergy and making us feel so comfortable and confident in my little girl ordering off the menu. Service was fabulous and the staff were amazing. Thank you for a lovely day.

This was my first experience of a Malmaison hotel and I will actively look to book with them again. Gorgeous lobby, the room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Service was great and the breakfast was lovely. My only feedback would be that there weren’t any plug sockets near a mirror in the room, so drying / styling hair was a bit tricky. Overall would absolutely stay here again.

Great location but the point of a hotel is sleep. Booked a standard room, offered an upgrade for £66 and took it. The view was lovely but the room was so hot! The bed was also uncomfortable, I think a thin mattress. Told the staff about the heat issue, they provided directions on how to use the a/c control, gave it 24hrs, still didn’t work. No other rooms as they were fully booked. Asked for a fan which was supplied but paid a total of around £500 to not sleep for 3 nights, I left exhausted. Horrendous and will never stay there again (which is saying something because my mum lives in the flats above it). Do NOT recommend.

Located in the Grade-listed Britannia Pavilion at the iconic Albert Dock, PANAM Restaurant & Bar offers a casual and vibrant dining experience. The vaulted brick space features banquettes, plush booths, and tables for enjoying British cuisine and cocktails.
We stumbled into Panam absolutely exhausted after a full day of exploring the beautiful sights of Liverpool — tired, hungry, and thirsty. And wow, did this place deliver exactly what we needed! The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location, right by the water and close to the Tate, is just stunning. What a treat! Thank you so much — it was delicious! 😊

Stumbled across this really lovely place during our Liverpool stay. I am a sucker for reading reviews before visiting a restaurant, but on a tiresome day decided to be spontaneous! Panam straight away- struck by the lovely decor and atmosphere. What a beautiful Place for a meal. We were placed into a booth, which felt so private and hidden, it was great! Service was great, friendly staff who served us promptly. Menu looked great, really nice variety. Food arrived promptly and was delicious. Really good portion size. Reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend. We visited on a Saturday night- 5-6pm ish. Not too busy.

Had lunch here on a day trip to Liverpool to visit the Exhibition Centre. Conveniently close to museums and to Liverpool's iconic waterfront, it's a large and spacious restaurant on two levels, with a lovely view of the marina from its outside tables and window seats. Formerly a warehouse, it still has the original stone floor and exposed brick walls, but the decor is attractive and modern with comfy leather seating, cosy booths and palms. There's a large and well stocked bar, and a good choice of beers, lagers and cocktails. The waitress who served me was courteous and friendly, and I did not have to wait long for my meal despite the restaurant being very busy. The menu offered a tempting variety of both international and classic British starters and mains. I decided to try the scouse. It turned out to be a hearty and delicious stew comprising tender chunks of beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions, served with two pieces of crusty bread and a small pot of pickled cabbage. Piping hot, filling, nicely seasoned, and accompanied by a good Merlot. Could not resist the PANAM trifle for afters - a delicious treat! The meal was not cheap - only to be expected given the location - but it was very satisfying and well worth it. Great convivial atmosphere too. Would come here again.

LOVED our experience at Panam. We are a family of 4 with two young kids and we just had the best mid week evening during a work trip. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the Panam burger and the beef and ale pie and our plates were clean! The brownie is the best brownie I’ve had in a long, long time and my husband had the cookie dough which he said was fantastic too. Atmosphere is great, we were made to feel really welcome and even though it was quiet on a weekday night it was amazing to let our toddler explore and go see the zebras in the back area and play in amongst the booths etc to keep her amused. Our server Jay was so attentive, we had barely put our forks down or finished our drinks before he was back to check on us and remove our plates he was a total credit to the restaurant. They are so attentive when it comes to allergies which made me feel so safe having a nut allergy. We’d come back from Scotland just to return here genuinely only of the nicest meals in such a unique setting I hope you guys continue to enjoy great success at Albert dock x

Went in without a booking on a busy Saturday night and they put us in a booth just the 2 of us! They dealt with allergies very seriously we had the burger, chips and shared onion ring was very good but there chips were amazing, Naoise served us throughout the evening and provided an excellent service, after dinner we played pool/snooker inside they have 2 tables also have a table football table and live music in the evening.

We visited Panam this evening and immediately felt welcomed. The atmosphere had a lovely relaxed vibe and the restaurant very tastefully decorated. The food was amazing! Each course was delicious. We enjoyed salt beef croquettes, Korean chicken starters followed by chicken supreme and mushroom pizza with lemon/pine seed tender stem broccoli. Wonderful service from our waiter Jay, in fact all the staff were friendly, attentive and polite. Thank you Tara and your team for a lovely evening and we will most definitely be back soon. Can't recommend Panam enough if visiting the Albert docks 😃

Maray Bold Street is a trendy small plates restaurant located in Liverpool, offering an eclectic menu and cocktails in a stylish setting with bare brick walls and pendant lights. The restaurant takes its plant-based offerings seriously, featuring a dedicated vegan menu that includes dishes like wild mushrooms with cannellini beans and herb crust, as well as confit carrots with hazelnut butter and tamarind.
This was my first time trying a Mediterranean restaurant, and Maray didn’t disappoint! Not only was the food delicious, but the coffee was surprisingly good too. I didn’t get a chance to try the desserts, but based on everything else, I’m sure they’re great as well. The menu features lots of flavorful vegetable-based dishes, along with a few meat and fish options. I especially enjoyed the goat cheese with crispy fish and cauliflower—such a tasty combo! Mixing and matching the dishes was part of the fun. The staff were warm and helpful, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking to explore Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

All I could say is that this place is absolute superb! we came here to grab a quick bite before catching train home and it was one of the BEST meals we had throughout our trip in Liverpool. Love every bite we had from boquerones to cod and steak and to dessert, wish I found this place earlier. Service is amazing as well, all the staff were lovely x Will definitely come back next time.

Wow! Been hearing great things about this place for years, and finally got round to going over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It didn't disappoint! The disco cauliflower, hummus and lamb shawarma were sensational as was the local bee. All in a relaxed and informal atmosphere! Loved it! I'll be back!
Dave R — Google review
I was a bit dubious about this place don't seem to have that many meat options. So we ordered all of them, and also the cod, and everything was really good. I must give a special mention to the fact that they have a surprisingly good range of Italian liquors including Montenegro and Cynar. Also the service was excellent. The only thing I would say is that it's really small, so definitely better to book.
K Q — Google review
Amazing place with Middle Eastern small plates to share. The oyster mushroom shawarma was really nice and not something I tried elsewhere. The whipped goat’s cheese was also great and the pickled watermelon bumped it to the next interesting level. The warm pita was fine but far from exceptional. Disco cauliflower was great and the falafel was pretty solid also. I tried their dessert Lebanese wine which was definitely not to die for but interesting to try - similar I style to sherry or Madeira. Overall I think this place is a must if you are in town since the food is really good. Value for money is very reasonable
Alexey S — Google review
Food was great, the disco cauliflower was delicious. Would be 4 or 5 stars if it wasn’t for the mezze which was insanely overpriced - assumed the plate they brought was for one, but it was for three, and cost nearly £22! Bizarre because everything else was priced pretty fairly. Everything we ate was really good, and I would go back. Go, but avoid the mezze!
Fistula S — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous food. Ate it so quickly I didn’t get time to get a picture of it! Lovely service and atmosphere. Every plate had its own unique flavour and was excellent. Personal favourite was the crispy sea bass, absolutely divine!
Rebecca W — Google review
Enjoyed a delicious meal here on a Wednesday date night. Would highly recommend booking, the place was humming and is small and intimate. The menu offers plenty of choices for veggies and vegans, with meat and fish options besides. The disco cauliflower is legendary for a reason and we ate up every morsel. The falafel sharing platter was tasty and good sized for two. The carrots with sour grapes were a surprise hit and the sweet tahini sauce below them was moorish. Top tip, get the date bread and butter pudding if you have room! At £60 for three sharing plates, two desserts and a drink each we thought it was good value. Service was friendly and helpful but a tad slow to take orders. Please consider a cookbook release!!

The Restaurant Bar & Grill Liverpool is a stylish dining spot located in a grand former banking house. It offers a brasserie-style menu with British steaks. The 1931 Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Liverpool, serves scrumptious pizzas with various mouthwatering toppings. Meanwhile, 14 Bar & Grill provides a sophisticated rooftop dining experience with panoramic views of Liverpool's skyline and an extensive menu featuring burgers, sushi, truffle chips, and lamb shank.
Conveniently located in the historic Halifax House in Brunswick St, Liverpool This was built in the 1870s as the head office of Union Bank of the British Empire. (If you walk down the street towards the port of liverpool, you will see the Beatles statue along Canada Boulevard). Most of the heritage buildings in Liverpool are very well conserved and maintained. Even the streets are well paved and clean. Very nice! We had a "table d'hote" or set specially curated by our hosts from the best bank in the world. Starter - crispy duck salad Refreshing, tasty. Whets the appetite Small serving Main - American 🇺🇸 lobster🦞 800g Firm and succulent. Herb garnish and juicy to bite. Fabulous! Served with chips Dessert - Sticky toffee pudding The quintessential British dessert? Perfect to complete the meal Drinks - Cotswolds signature single malt, mojito, growers gate chardonnay from South Australia 🇦🇺 One of the best meals for the trip. We had a private tour of Anfield before the dinner. Really enjoyed the company of many Liverpool FC fans and even ex-players like Sander Westervled were also present that night. The significance of Klopp's last game as Manager of LFC that weekend we not lost on us. A really unforgettable evening. Thank you, SCB!

Have you seen rate my plate? And it's generally really bad looking food getting slaughtered?Well, when my veggie roast dinner came, I thought these guys were the founders of rate my plate. I go out most Sundays for a roast dinner. This, by far, has to be the worst one. Can you guess what the slop on top is? The waitress looked scared to put it on the table. I couldn't either. We had to ask what it was. Apparently, this is their veggie gravy. They blended up a bunch of mushrooms, and it looks like they added a pinch of vomit too and called it gravy. We called a manager over. He agreed it looked awful. Which made me ask the question, if you know it's bad, why serve it to paying customers?and why have it on the menu? Restaurant bar and grill, just buy some bisto.

I came into the restaurant a couple of weeks ago with my family (2 adults 2 kids). We had such a great experience, from the second we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff who could not do enough to make our meal as enjoyable as possible. The food was brilliant, the restaurant had no issues bringing our kids food out with our starters to save any hungry kids. Staff were attentive to drinks and made a fuss of the kids which they enjoyed. This made for a much more relaxed dining experience. Really looking forward to our next visit here!

My friend booked for us both to attend today as she has previously been, we may of well had been invisible today had to ask after approximately 15 minutes of being there for our first drink, which became reoccurring throughout the 90 minutes a total of 4 drinks, around us the drinks were flowing for all when I had to ask again and the server came over her attitude brought an atmosphere I understand everyone works hard in there but we are all paying customers! Plus points great music and atmosphere and hot food! Ps the the aperol spritz was spot on !!

We had a booking for 1930. Despite, arriving on time, checking in, it took until 20:00 to be seated. This is the second time I have visited and have been late to be seated. Once seated late, it took a further 10 minutes for us to have someone attend to us and take our drinks order. The attendant was informed that 2 out of the 5 of us were for alcohol free bottomless dining. The drinks service was not great, and we had to constantly attract attention to order drinks. Food arrived and was good. Onto the bill, upon receiving the outstanding bill, despite being advised that 2 people were for alcohol free bottomless dining, all drinks had been put through and charged as alcohol. I questioned this with the attendant at the till who's attitude was shocking and was telling me all drinks were alcohol and she could kot change it. I told her to go and get the guy who had been taking our orders as I wasn't paying the bill without it being changed as it was incorrect. The guy eventually came and clarified that we had had 2 alcohol free. I was also appalled that a service charge had been added automatically and had this removed. Not the best experience, awful customer service, good food.

Lovely place for bottomless brunch. Service was great, Alfie was really attentive. Maybe more variety on the cocktails for brunch available but thats the only feedback!
Viki — Google review
This unique catering establishment is known for its “bottomless” dining sessions, where diners have a limited set of drinks they can re-order for a set period of time. The food menu is quite limited too but the club vibe is good with loud music and the occasional introduction of a live saxophone player playing on top of the partitions between booths. So the experience overall is good and I would go there again. The mini burgers were great, but the flat iron seared beef strips were chewy. The crew serving us were nice too, but unless you’re into prosecco, it’s not great value

The Railway Inn is a Liverpool pub with an immense atmosphere that's perfect for watching the footy. From delicious food to high-quality drinks, this spot has something for everyone - making it one of the most popular pubs in town. And if you're looking to add some Viking authenticity to your festivities, they also have a ship buried underneath their property!
We are visiting from down south, and this, one of the oldest pubs in Liverpool, totally exceeded our expectations. The staff are friendly and focused on getting the experience right. Rosein recommended food based on our preferences and even made me try some of their nice range of wines. The price is spot on, and the food is absolutely brilliant. The kitchen staff have diverse knowledge of ingredient pairing, and both the fish and chips and the calamari we tried were a hit. We were so torn between doing a repeat order of these two, and the calamari won the bet. Such fresh produce and nicely woven flavours were the highlight, closely followed by the unassuming service. We are already so looking forward to coming back!

The Railway didn't live up to the great reviews for us, but we probably visited at the wrong time. Value for money was excellent; I couldn't fault the prices, but by dinner time on a Monday, they'd run out of a lot of the menu, which was fine. Went for my third choice which was salt and pepper chips, and it was just okay. It didn't really have a whole lot of flavour without being drowned in the sweet chilli sauce. Service was fine; it was really quick, but not particularly warm or hospitable. The staff seemed like they didn't really want to be there, to be honest. I understand Mondays might be slow, but we felt quite let down by this place after reading such good reviews. I wouldn't go here again outside of a weekend.

Visited at lunch time on a Monday, so I would say it was relatively quiet, so we could absorb more of this typical Victorian pub, with different rooms and a beautiful old pub feel to the place. The food was nice but the Moo & Blue Pie was AMAZING! Would return for that only. Loved it.

Went here for bottomless brunch before Christmas and it wasn't the best. The chicken was very dry, they brought out two wrong dishes and they also stopped our time with 15mins left. They brought the bill and wouldn't let us get anything else on the bottomless brunch menu. They didn't even alert us- staff were slow at coming round and getting our orders/bringing drinks. The guy on sax was good. Wouldn't go there for bottomless brunch again!

The food was simply exquisite, and the service was impeccable. I can confidently say that my dining experience was a solid 5-star affair, and I cannot wait to return. The roast dinner was the star of the show! Expertly cooked, it was a beautiful balance of flavours. The meat was tender and juicy, the vegetables cooked to perfection, and the gravy was rich, hearty and full of depth. It was, without a doubt, one of the best roast dinners I've ever had. The mocktail that I ordered was a refreshing treat. It was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The blend of flavours was perfect, and it was a cool, invigorating accompaniment to the meal. The conclusion of the meal was just as impressive as the beginning. The chocolate brownie was a dream for any dessert-lover. It was decadently rich, perfectly moist and packed with flavour. It was a splendid way to end a perfect meal. What really elevated my experience at Masons, however, was the fantastic service. The staff were attentive, friendly and professional. They made sure we felt welcome and comfortable and ensured that our meal was served promptly and efficiently. Their commitment to excellent customer service truly shone throughout the evening. In conclusion, my visit to Masons was an absolute pleasure. From the delightful food to the outstanding service, everything was top-notch. I am more than eager to return and experience more of what this incredible establishment has to offer. Masons has truly set the bar high for dining experiences. Five stars all the way!

Good Atmosphere, shockingly small portions of food, to be exact, 3 prawns, 4 small Chirico pieces and 4 small meatballs, see picture. 2 bottles of larger, 2, very small glasses of red wine, £49.50. Waitress even tried to take my food away when i was still eating and to cap it all, got kicked out bang on 1.5 hours with a half empty restaurant and drinks on the table, had to leave them behind. Not even a thank you or goodbye from the staff on the door as we were ushered out. To be clear, my food is the 3 dishes in the centre of the picture. Avoid disappointment and avoid Masons. Plenty of other placed to eat, in your own time, and eat what what you want.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. We booked Masons in Liverpool for my hen do, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. The service was terrible, we only managed to get two drinks each the entire night, and the staff couldn’t have cared less. They were rude, dismissive, and clearly just wanted us out of there. The food came out at completely different times, so half of us were finished before the rest even got theirs. When I raised how unhappy I was, I was told we’d get a refund, but that turned out to be a lie — just something they said to get us to leave quietly. The whole experience felt unprofessional and chaotic, and the manager in particular was shockingly rude. Definitely not someone who should be running a venue like that. My hen do was completely ruined because of how badly we were treated. We will never be coming back, and I’d strongly advise anyone thinking of booking here for a special occasion to go somewhere else. After the responce to the below to this review - I can confirm half of my party were not drinking, we did not have the amount of drinks he is saying - most of them never turned up, and not only is he insinuating we were ‘ drunk’ he also saying we are not telling the truth. Shame on you. Most of us are business owners in Liverpool - we know how to run a business, all of the above and how your staff spoke to us with one of them actually apologising to me - says it all. Disgusting.

Top-quality food and consistently great service. Food — fresh, healthy and super tasty. Drinks flowed and the DJ/sax entertainment was brilliant, exactly the kind of energy you want on Seel St. Great location, excellent staff
Aaron W — Google review
This was a lively hen do experience with the saxophonist table dancing and the sparklers! The food was really nice, wish there was more of it. There was a bit of upset as they had increased the price since we booked months ago, and the time limit had changed too. The manager offered us another drink round the corner in the attached Epic bar which was cool, and made up for the mix up. Service overall was good. Drink options seemed to be Prosecco with various mixers or bottles of lager I think, nobody really explained it to us, but we were happy with that anyway. Would only come here with a larger group for an event rather than with the other half. It was fun though.

Clockworks offers an industrial-chic setting for modern British dishes, including a full breakfast and a fixed Sunday menu. The restaurant has received mixed reviews on its food, with some praising the quality of ingredients and well-executed cocktails, while others found certain dishes to be underwhelming. The ambiance is described as relaxed with friendly staff and great music. Despite some disappointment with specific menu items, patrons appreciate the cozy atmosphere created by low lighting and exposed brickwork.
Stopped in for lunch and a quick beer for my first ever visit here. Noticed that the menu features lots of breakfast options so jumped right in on a full breakfast and was not disappointed. Food was delicious and nice sized portions and service was excellent and included table service. Nice low lighting giving a relaxing ambiance and lots of exposed brickwork. Not the biggest range of draft beer especially craft but did find one that worked for me. Will definitely return especially for another breakfast.

It was very empty when we arrived (we started early) so it's hard to rate the atmosphere. Also, they were waiting on a delivery, so several cocktail options were unavailable. The staff were very friendly, though, and the food was absolutely delicious. Would come again.

Went there on bank holiday Monday. Waiters were very friendly and helpful, yet still laid back. Food was excellent. The pie is great value. Portions are generous. I had the Glasgow mess to myself, not realising it's a sharing dish! It was beautifully presented. Included deep fried Mars bar and Snickers. Just about managed to finish with help from my family since it was so delicious but would recommend sharing. Soft drinks are reasonably priced.

An absolute outstanding place. Staff were very friendly, wonderful atmosphere and decor. We had their Sunday Roast, one of the best I've ever had, at first it didn't look too much but oh how it hits the spot just right. And the dessert, proper thick and fluffy pancakes with Nutella and strawberries. All absolutely delicious, will absolutely be returning one day.

Really great breakfasts - couldn't fault mine to be fair. I don't eat black pudding so it's missing from the plate. The weakest element was the potato rosti, everything else was good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Everyone enjoyed theirs, with cleared plates all round. Great chilled vibe (at least during the day) with friendly and very capable staff - the cocktails were very well executed with proper balance. Also great music I pilfered a few of the selection for my holiday playlist!

Food is good, but not as good as I thought it was going to be from the reviews. Mildy disappointed, because I was expecting something great, not just good. Stay away from the gluten free, vegan free desserts, one we tried was dry, the other claggy. The team are incredibly friendly and professional, the chef even came to apologise for the desserts. Dating he knew they where not great, and explaining how difficult it is to make vegan and gluten free desserts... We are not vegan or gluten free, they are 2/3rds of the desert menu options. Nice bar and venue, I would definitely go back for a drink. I must also mention, that they had a young lad playing a guitar and singing for atmosphere... Really talented, and a really nice touch.

Albert's Schenke is a charming Bavarian-style tavern that offers a unique dining experience. The venue, set in a woodsy atmosphere, serves up seasonal Bavarian dishes and hosts bottomless brunches. Upon its reopening in July 2024, guests can look forward to an exceptional Sunday offering featuring crispy Bavarian pork knuckle, topside Lancashire beef, roast Cheshire chicken or wild mushroom nutloaf with all the trimmings.
An excellent restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were very generous. When making the reservation, I mentioned that the dinner was for my husband's birthday, and he was pleasantly surprised with a special dessert and warm congratulations. Everything was perfect — thank you for the wonderful hospitality and outstanding service!

Firepit in the bar area. German beers on tap, but seemed a limited selection. Would like some more choice. Hearty food including schitzel and pigs knuckle. Sunday menu is limited due to sunday linch options such as lancashire beef and cheshire chicken. Decent price

Been here a few times, mainly for drinks but had a roast there last Sunday and it was absolutely fantastic, we couldn’t have been happier so I highly recommend. Midweek it’s nice for a quiet drink with a nice mood and lighting. Really good location and the price isn’t bad to be fair. Our roast with 2 drinks came to less than £40 which isn’t bad going especially when it’s in the heart of L1. Definitely be going back!

Had dinner here a couple nights ago on 13/08/25, was served by Dorrie who was absolutely wonderful. I wanted to try some local beer that was on tap so I asked for her recommendations, she told us they have some beer on rotations that are not on the menu and brought us a small glass to try. The food was great as well, we had the Scotch eggs and pork knuckles which we couldn't even finish. Overall great service and great food.

Great place and great food. Seriously let down by the service. We were seated and offered drinks and order taken quite quickly. Then It took 45 minutes for the food to arrive, waitress was hardly visible. No offer to top up the drinks, no visible contact to see how we were. For all she knew we could have been vaporised. If it wasn’t for this it would have had a 5.

Very helpful in regards to my mushroom allergy. The only restaurant I have ever eaten in which went to the trouble of checking on the actual ingredients in a dish. It meant I couldn't have the pork knuckle, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed, but my salmon was very nice.

Really enjoyed the main courses we both had wurst sausages. Beer was great and had a good selection but i would suggest some pairing suggestions on menu. Service was quick and friendly but it felt a few people short considering the number of tables. My only complaint was the deserts they were ok but felt like a complete afterthought of the restaurant.

Wedding venue
OH ME OH MY is a charming afternoon tea venue located in a former bank building on Water Street, Liverpool. The space exudes shabby chic charm and features polished wooden floors and pendant lights, creating an airy and relaxed atmosphere. This hidden gem offers a delightful classic afternoon tea experience with a selection of savory sandwiches like lemon and thyme roast chicken, ham hock and cheddar croque, as well as sweet treats including honey and blueberry cake.
One of the best afternoon tea experiences that I have had. The music, the vibe, the decor and the food…all spot on! I booked this place for Mother’s Day and both my mother and I had a fabulous time. Highly recommended and the staff are just the best too. Great service and sense of humour.

Absolutely Perfect – Thank You Oh Me Oh My! We had our wedding at Oh Me Oh My and cannot thank Rinah, Lizzie and Jack and the rest of the team enough for making our day so special. From the very beginning, they helped plan and organise every detail, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made the whole process stress-free and enjoyable. Communication was brilliant. They truly brought our vision to life – everything looked stunning, and the day ran seamlessly thanks to their expertise, even with a large number of guests. The food and drinks were amazing (we had so many compliments from our guests!), and the rooftop bar was a total highlight – a breathtaking spot that really added something special to the day. Everyone had the best time, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We would recommend Oh Me Oh My to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-run venue with a fantastic team behind it. Thank you so much for everything – you made our wedding day unforgettable. Love, Kate and James! Xx

Had a lovely afternoon tea at OhMeOhMy. I felt truly spoilt by the selection they gave us, the food was all stunning, I was well and truly stuffed. The tea selection is gorgeous and I encourage you to treat yourself to a pot to take home. Jason who looked after us was such a great character, full of life and energy, a real asset to the team. Would 100% recommend visiting here, if not, go up to the rooftop bar for a drink and glimpse over one of the best views in Liverpool.

We had our wedding reception at OH ME OH MY, and the day could not have been more perfect. From Day 1, Rinah and the team couldn't do enough for us. Happy to answer every single daft question with a cheerful message. The food tasting was extremly generous and the team were happy to adjust the food to the tastes of our guests. We can't even begin to say how great the cocktails were :). The venue was stunning and matched our aesthetic perfectly and all of our guests raved about the venue. The service from Rinah and Aaron on the day was fantastic once again being incredibly patient with our requests, and our guests loved the food. Thank you for making our big day extra special! We would definitely recommend OH ME OH MY as a venue for a wedding (or indeed any big event). Dan and Lyndsey

We had our wedding there a month ago. What a fabulous venue and an amazing day! Rinah and her team were fantastic. She guided us calmly through the planning process in the months leading up to the big day and was so helpful. . The venue is incredibly beautiful, with the spiral staircase, fairy lights ceiling and the stunning roof terrace views. So many of our guests commented on the service from the waiting and bar staff - a great vibe. I can't recommend Oh Me Oh My strongly enough. We had the very best day, helped along by musician Ogo Nzeador, and our wedding photographer, Ali from Ameer Photography. We have so many wonderful memories. Thank you.

It's hard for me to put into words how important OH ME OH MY has been to me as a Liverpool wedding photographer who specialises in city wedding photography. If it wasn't for the amazing organisers at OH ME OH MY back in 2014, adding me to their referral list and inviting me to exhibit at their open days, I I don't think I would have booked out my first year of wedding photography. And every year after that I have been back to OH ME OH MY multiple times. I was even the first photographer to shoot couple portraits on the roof terrace before it was even renovated, which felt like such a huge honour! I love the big windows that overlook the Three Graces, the endless choice of locations to take photos of my couples in the streets surrounding the venue, and the amazing food that is served there, but it's the staff who work there that make the biggest difference for me as a wedding supplier. I've always had all of my needs met, whether it's the staff fiddling with the venue lighting to get it "just right" in the evening, to greeting me warmly when I arrive and helping me store my equipment safely, to never forgetting to feed me when I'm hidden away on the mezzanine during the wedding breakfast (oh and always getting a free much needed coffee when I'm flagging). Weddings can be long and tiring days for a photographer, so all of these things make such a big difference to how I do my job. I always always ALWAYS look forward to shooting at OH ME OH MY.

Belzan is a trendy neighborhood eatery located in Liverpool's student-dominated suburb. The restaurant offers beautifully presented sharing plates and an impressive selection of natural wines in a stylish yet unpretentious setting. The menu features seasonal dishes made with locally sourced produce, incorporating subtle Asian influences and a focus on sustainability. Belzan has garnered acclaim for its innovative food, attracting praise from food critics such as The Guardian's Grace Dent.
I've been wanting to come to Belzan for years. So many years. My friends, it was worth the wait. This might now be my favourite Liverpool eaterie, and I'm clearly not alone as the window stickers denoting Good Food and Michelin guides annually through the years, including 2025. Everyone raves about the Guinness Rarebit Potato, and it's justified. Definitely get it. So tender, creamy, and that ketchup salsa thing on top was just...yeah. Amazing. Don't sleep on the other small plates too - the grilled hispi cabbage was one of the nicest things I've had in this city, or anywhere. The little crumbs of Lancashire cheese adds a lovely sharpness. Yum. We had the pork collar and jersey royals for our bigger plates, and both were fantastic. The potatoes were so crispy, with oyster mushrooms and a delicious egg yolk. The pork had a Mediterranean vibe with tomatoes, and olives. Really great food. Desserts were top notch too. We had an incredible chocolate mousse with crunchy, salty hazelnuts. Also had a strawberry and raspberry choux bun that was packed with fresh fruit, chantilly cream, and what our lovely host (who I think is the owner!) called 'tubby custard' 🤣 Can't speak highly enough of the people, who were warm, funny, and attentive all evening. God I can't wait to go back. £130 with drinks felt like a steal. Loved every minute. Edit: almost forgot - get the sourdough with the cauliflower butter. Never tested anything like it. Stunning.

Pieminister is a casual eatery in Bristol that offers gourmet savory pies, including options for vegans and those who are gluten-free. In Liverpool, the restaurant also serves a luxurious range of soft-serve ice creams to complement their famous pies. The flavors are diverse and inventive, ranging from frozen yogurt with honeycomb to unique options like vanilla ice cream with British bacon and Bourbon maple syrup.
First time ordering the food from this place and was blown away by the taste. Absolutely delicious pies. I opted for the fungi & chicken pie with 2 extra sides (mash and garden peas), the pie also came with a small carton of gravy. I can’t put into words of just how good this looked and tasted. It definitely started my Sunday off well. Everything arrived in perfect condition. The box the food arrived in was very sturdy and not flimsy like some do. Brilliant service, great tasting food and will definitely be ordering again in the near future

What a wonderful discovery, what a wonderful menu, and what a wonderful Pie 🥧! We wanted to find a new and different place to eat! The atmosphere when you walk in was friendly. At first service was slow, we weren’t sure if we had to go up and place the order or wait for a waiter. Then we got a waiter come over and from there we were off to the races! Absolutely lovely service. I ordered the ginger beer and it was really refreshing! We all loved our pies. I would suggest you try the vegan or vegetarian options. The curry one is a secret gem! Ask for your scratch cards at the end see if you win a free meal or at least a pirate 🏴‍☠️ inspired pie bandana. Fantastic value for money.

Lovely little pie shop. Part of a large chain. Waiter service was slow initially, but really friendly and helpful. They only had 1 or 2 waiters on (Saturday night) and several more in the kitchen hammering the microwaves and fryers. Despite that food was slow to come. Feels like the system is a little broke, but everyone was friendly and apologetic. The food is nice, I'd decently go back despite the the niggles. What's stage is it's a pie shop but there's no standard menu option for pie, mash and gravy... There's only combinations that do extra sides, but they are 'chosen' for you... Or group tried 3 of the pies, a vegan chicken, a vegetarian curry and a classic steak and kidney. We decided the curry one (we think it was cashed pie-oneer?) Was by far the best a must-try recommendation is you visit.

Pieminister offers an exceptional culinary experience for anyone with a fondness for pies. This restaurant truly stands out with its variety of innovative and delicious pie offerings. Each pie is a delightful blend of flavors and textures, made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, or vegan, Pieminister has something special for you. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual lunches and special dinners. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Additionally, their commitment to sustainability and use of locally sourced ingredients is commendable. Overall, Pieminister is a must-visit for pie enthusiasts and anyone looking for a satisfying meal in a warm, welcoming environment.

Went with my wife for our 20th wedding anniversary (lunch) Given a table without much of a view but tables facing liverpool skyline were free.(the best views) This did quite annoy me as nobody took these tables for our duration. .. I really think they couldn't be bothered relaying these tables. Service was OK, nothing special, food was also OK, obviously portions are quite small. Prices are on the higher side , paid around £160 for set menu with bottle of wine. Been here around 3 times previously and always enjoyed it as its views are spectacular. Would still recommend as a one off experience, but this could be so much better. Gone a bit stale in my opinion and taking people for granted.

The best bits are the view and the staff, who were polite and friendly. I thought the food was fairly average for a fine dining tasting menu compared to other places I have visited. A tuna tartare and a beef carpaccio were nicely presented but bland in flavour. The asparagus with herb purees was also pretty bland but attractive on the plate. The best course for me was the mushroom ravioli, very tasty. The beef wellington was disappointing with the end cut of the fillet and the end of the pastry casing. The same for my wife so it seemed to me that those dining a la carte may have had the prime slices at the expense of the tasting menu customers. I did appreciate the complimentary glass of red wine the waiter offered us, uninitiated. The deserts were neat but again felt fairly ordinary. I also noticed a 45 minute gap in service from being sat at 7.30 with breads and amuse bouches to first course at 8.15 which I think could be better managed or at least recognised by staff considering the service charge of around £30 automatically added to the bill. We did enjoy our evening but can only really rate this as average for a fine dining venue.

An old-fashioned place (which is not necessarily a bad thing but defo needs some refurbishment). Service is horrible. A rude waiter asking personal questions. I ordered a coffee and a cake and got both wrong. The service fee was a surprise as the menu doesn't state it. Short menu and tiny portions. Expensive but I'd be happy to pay these prices if the service were different. I spoke with my friends from Liverpool after I had visited this place and they were not surprised by my impression. They said I should've asked them first before I decided to go there. Two coffees and two cakes - 32 pounds.

Andrew S — Google review
This place is somewhat of a local legend. I’ve been meaning to come here for a while, but I’m quite lazy and I haven’t stayed down near the Albert Dock recently, so it’s had to wait until that came around again.. Anyhow, that time has now come and so I took the opportunity to visit on a grey and windswept summers day, as squalls whipped across the dock and tourists ran for cover. The restaurant itself is in one of the dockside Pavillions - if you’ve been here, you’ll know the score. Beautiful brick buildings that were rescued from dereliction in the mid-1980s; former warehouse buildings, they have brick vaults, low ceilings and loads of character. Some of the refurb is a bit 80s’tastic, as you’d expect, but it has mainly stood the test of time well. Gusto itself is in one of the first pavilions that you come to as you come in the main gate opposite the Hilton, next to the Dockmaster’s office. The entrance is discrete, as they all are here, with corner signage and an inset door. Inside, the restaurant is dark, although there is a wall of glass dockside, with views of the water and the boats. Seated straight away on what appeared to be quite a busy night, the service was good and drinks etc were offered quickly. They had Noam, which is quite a fancy beer that I’ve only had previously in Gaucho - it’s a German-style beer that comes in quite a fancy bottle. Love a fancy bottle. I wasn’t actually very hungry, so I was focussed on smaller meals that packed a punch in terms of flavour, rather than a pizza or something like that (their pizzas are good though - had one in Edinburgh). To start, I chose the arancini - this was an excellent portion, three little arancini with mozzarella and saffron aioli. Big flavours and very rich. Hit. For a main, they had a three-meat lasagna, which sounded good - I actually saw someone else having this, so knew the portion was reasonable. A bit weird it didn’t say what the three meats were - I assume pork, chicken and beef? - but overall the flavour was good. The waiter seemed to think I would need sides, but it really didn’t need sides - I guess I could have had garlic bread, but it didn’t need it. Some people might order chips with it, but that would be greedy. No pudding on this occasion, as I was full, but they do a very nice tiramisu - as I recall from Edinburgh, they serve this from a big bowl at the table. I mean, that’s a degree of theatre I don’t necessarily need in my life, but it does presumably demonstrate that the tiramisu is freshly made in house. That’s nice. Overall I would definitely eat here again - this is a nice restaurant, the food was pretty good value and the service was efficient and friendly - if you like cocktails etc, then there seemed to be a lot of that going on as well behind me, with much rattling of the cocktail shaker. I think next time I’ll have the garlic mushrooms to start and the salsicca pizza for a main - I will even splash out the 45p to make it a diavola with the addition of fresh chilli. Well done, two paws up. Recommended.

Just had a beautiful meal here. Staff amazing and so was the food. We enjoyed every mouthful, didn't want it to end! The only thing I would change is a few more sun dried tomatoes and bread on the sharing board, but it was all thoroughly enjoyed. Sorry I didnt take a photo of our starter, it was absolutely beautiful. THANK YOU

We visited this evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our kids. The staff were really friendly (especially Giuliana, who couldn’t do enough for us!), especially with our daughters, the food was delicious ( the make your own pizza on the kids menu is brilliant!) and the place itself was lovely. It was our first visit but we’ll definitely be back! The special dessert we were brought for our anniversary made it all even more special!

We came in off the chance late on a Saturday. The restaurant was so busy we thought we would be turned away. A little 5 minute wait in the bar and was shown to our table. Louise was looking after us, her service was great and we was well looked after all evening. The food was delicious, drinks was great. Not sure what more you could ask for!

We have been to many restaurants around the world but this one has the best gluten free pizza we have ever tasted! All the food was great! We had a great dinner with an amazing service we received from Michal all along they way. We will definitely return to the restaurant next time we come to Liverpool

We had an exceptional lunch at Gusto Italian Liverpool. The food and drinks were top-notch, with delicious flavours and generous portions that really made the meal special. However, the service was just okay. Initially, we sat outside by the dock, which was lovely but very windy. Unfortunately, when we had to move inside because of the weather, we didn’t receive any assistance from staff, which was a bit disappointing. The final bill for our party of four came to £140 for a midday lunch, including a 12.5% service charge that was automatically added. While the food and drinks definitely made up for the average service, it’s worth being aware of the added charge. Overall, Gusto is a great spot if you’re looking for exceptional Italian cuisine in a lively, picturesque setting.

We had the Sunday Sharing Board and it was delicious. Very filling meal and good value for the amount of food you get. Helen was our server and she was very attentive with our table and friendly. We had a lovely time.

We visited Liverpool last weekend on a sunny day and wanted to seated outside for a meal at Miller & Carter, only to be told that they only serve small plates outdoors. We agreed to seat inside and ordered some of the steaks. The food was delicious as usual but I cannot say the same for the staff who hardly smiled, especially the girl who welcomed us and saw us to our table. Friendly staff makes a difference to our experience and I cannot say that on the day they delivered.

I haven't eaten too much steaks yet, but this is hands down, one of the best steaks I have eaten, I would love to see steaks with eggs and avocado, because I'm not sure if it was in the menu, fried onion didn't fit too much in my humble opinion, but other than that everything was great, including sweet chili chicken starter which was also one of the tastiest chickens I had, and really good creme brulee. I would love to come back.

Just been to Miller and Carter Albert Dock for my Birthday. We had Maddy as our waitress for the evening and she was absolutely amazing. Always smiling, laughing and was so attentive and friendly. She made my birthday meal so special and was just amazing the whole evening. The food was unreal but having Maddy as our waitress made it even better! Thanks Maddy and thank you Miller and Carter for such an amazing evening.

Always enjoy a visit to Miller & Carter. Food is amazing. Chipotle chicken bites to start. 7oz rump steak, beef butter, peppercorn sauce and chunky chips for mains and just managed to squeeze in a mini dessert of profiteroles with coffee.

We booked ahead for Miller & Carter at the Albert Dock (definitely recommended as it was busy) and went as a party of three. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and greeted really warmly, which set the tone straight away. Despite how busy it was, the service was excellent – attentive without being pushy. Our food order was taken promptly after we were seated, giving us time to settle in without feeling rushed. We all ordered steaks, and each one was cooked exactly as requested – absolutely spot on. The quality was great, and it’s clear the kitchen takes real care. Having visited several Miller & Carter restaurants before, I can honestly say this is one of the better ones. Definitely worth a visit if you’re spending time around the Albert Docks area.

The Botanist Albert Dock is a pirate-themed bar and restaurant located in the vaulted basement of Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock. It offers a unique experience with rum cocktails, deli boards, BBQ meats, and an immersive atmosphere. The venue is known for its signature Hanging Pancake Kebab and live music performances on a dedicated stage area. Guests can enjoy the beautiful greenery installations and hand-painted artwork while savoring their meals in a secret garden setting.
Set in the stunning surrounds of The Albert Dock, The Botanist is a visual treat—rustic décor, warm lighting, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to order everything on the menu… twice. The highlight? The hanging kebabs. Absolute showstoppers. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and dripping in flavour (literally—watch that garlic butter drizzle like edible theatre). They’re as fun to eat as they are to photograph. Service was top-notch, especially from Bobby, who brought big smiles, solid recommendations, and just the right amount of banter. It’s the kind of service that elevates a meal into an experience—Bobby deserves a raise and a hanging kebab of his own. Now, the only misstep? The 8-ounce steak. Cooked well, but a little too fatty for the price point. At a place that nails presentation and vibe, you’d expect a leaner cut or a bit more finesse for what you're paying. That said, drinks were inventive, desserts tempting, and the views over the dock? Chef’s kiss. It’s a great spot for date night, group dinners, or just treating yourself with a side of atmosphere.

The establishment takes great pride in its South American heritage, evident in their carefully crafted recipes and succulent meats. Guests can indulge in an all-you-can-eat experience featuring a variety of meat cuts served directly to their table, including rump, chicken thighs, and pork collars.
Wonderful food. We went for the Churrasco lunch with meat on skewers. It’s pricier than other restaurants but has a fantastic buffet as per photos, so worth the money as an occasional treat. The staff are efficient and professional.

Tried the lunch menu. Meat selection was decent. Huge variety of cold ( buffet style) and hot sides. We don’t go crazy on sides as wanted good appetite to enjoy the steaks and meats on offer which get served randomly in no particular order. What we noticed the premium cuts like rib eye get served usually later hence you want to save some space to enjoy those. The caramelised cinnamon pineapple was a delight and great palate cleanser after all the meaty dishes. Worth a try if you are a meat lover
Nimisha A — Google review
Don't recommend getting the upgraded option because the extra lobster wasnt worth it. But the rest of the food and sides were absolutely amazing. Every single meat was tasty and well seasoned. The atmosphere is also great and the buffet salad bar has a huge selection.

We went to Fazenda for a birthday lunch, two of the party had the churrasco option, and raved about the great quality and traditional style of the meat. The service was efficient, very friendly, and regularly asked if there was anything they hadn’t tried or would like to request from the meats menu. I had a vegetarian moqueca with hearts of palm, sweet potato and baby corn, which was really unique but delicious. We all had access to the buffet for sides and cheeses etc. and I (as a vegetarian) felt completely catered for. For the amount of food we ate, the bill was great value at £50 each.

THE nicest steak we have ever eaten! We had a kilo of Wagyu for a special occasion. It was suggested for 4 people but 2 of us could have eaten a kilo each! Melt in the mouth absolute deliciousness. If we return to Liverpool we'll definitely be back for more

Visited after a business meeting in Liverpool and went straight here after work. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed — the bar staff were friendly and even shared a few jokes with us while we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink. The cold buffet selection was excellent and fresh, and the unlimited sides (cooked to order) were outstanding — all included at no extra charge. The meat was simply unbelievable! The fillet steak melted in the mouth, and unlike other similar restaurants, they certainly aren’t shy with their portions. In fact, they actively encourage you to try more as they come around! Highly recommended for meat lovers!

I do recommend this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with the food, the service and the environment. I've been so disappointed trying rodízio here in the UK. Being a Brazilian myself, I know what the real deal is like. The meat was plenty, many different cuts, and good quality, served exactly how I wanted. The salad bar was well presented and varied. Although it was a bit of a mishmash of Brazilo/Latin foods, I think it worked well. The service was attentive but not intrusive. I really enjoyed that all the waiters spoke Portuguese.

Pub
Restaurant
Pump House is a converted Victorian pumphouse that now serves as a traditional waterside pub-restaurant offering an eclectic menu. Located near Anfield, it's known for being a popular spot for fans to gather before and after games. The pub also screens sports events year-round, making it a great place to meet fellow fans while enjoying drinks and hearty meals.
Originally built in 1870, The Pump House was once a steam-powered hydraulic pumping station that played a vital role in the functioning of Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock. It powered the mechanisms that opened and closed the dock gates, and its impressive brick chimney is a remnant of its industrial past. The building has since been beautifully converted into a pub and restaurant, retaining many of its historic features. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to go inside and eat, but from the outside, The Pump House looks truly impressive. Its location by the water and the preserved architecture make it a striking landmark and a place we’d definitely like to visit next time.
Yarys — Google review
After a long day of walking around Liverpool, we were in the mood for some pub food. The Pump House was definitely elevated pub food. We had the breaded Haloomi cheese for starters, it was a nice portion, delicate, warm and welcoming. Then I had the duck confi which was to die for, especially when served with the triple cooked potatoes and currant sauce. Wow! My girlfriend had the mushroom dish and it was delicious as well. Local beer was great and the cider was very nice as well. My only note - we got the appetizer super quick, and the food took a little while. By the time we got our food it was not as hot as expected, but it was still great.

My Visit to The Pump House, Liverpool My visit to The Pump House at Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool was a delightful experience blending history, great food, and stunning waterfront views. Originally built in 1870 as a hydraulic pump station to power the dock’s machinery, this beautifully restored red-brick building now serves as a pub and restaurant, preserving its industrial charm while offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The setting by the water is perfect for relaxing after exploring the Maritime Museum or nearby attractions. The menu offers a good variety of British classics, seafood, and drinks, and the service was friendly and efficient. I especially enjoyed sitting by the window overlooking the dock — a great spot for photos, especially at sunset. Visitor Tips: Try to visit during off-peak hours or make a reservation, as it can get busy on weekends. The outdoor seating is lovely in good weather. How to Reach: The Pump House is located at Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4AF, just a short walk from Liverpool James Street Station and well-connected by local buses. Parking is available at the nearby Albert Dock car park. Overall, The Pump House is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a meal or drink in one of Liverpool’s most scenic and historic dockside locations — a perfect mix of heritage and hospitality.

Great food with interesting combinations - especially appreciated the tatin with the sold! Friendly staff and interesting glass setup in the center of the dining area. Staff is very helpful to adapt to dietary restrictions and vegetarian options (often with fish, though - check out the pictures of the menu) are not an afterthought: really delicious.
I. P — Google review
Food was great and the vegetarian options were thought out well. The gnocchi was 90% potato and so soft. My partner loved the lamb. Service was not great at the start of our meal it might be that the girl serving us was new but I said I was vegetarian and I am pretty sure one of the butters we were served with bread contained meat. I might be wrong as they do not say what the food is when putting it down and honestly after having eaten a small bit of it I didn’t want to know as it would have ruined my evening. Toilets were not super clean. One of the plates was chipped. Awkward coat rack with staff not taking coats + not enough room. I’m only being critical because this is a very nice restaurant and could easily up the standard. Overall it was a nice dinner and I would recommend it. Cheeseboard was especially good.

The atmosphere and the space inside are both very enjoyable. Nicely decorated inside. The staff are friendly and attentive but getting the bill at the end took a bit longer than I would have liked. The roast dinners (both had beef) were nice and a decent sized portion. The gravy was lacking a little bit. For starters we had a spinach and feta pastry (was delicious) and the chicken terrine which was very dry. The wine list was extensive and good.

Exceptional food and service. Dinned here for dinner as a couple and their new menu is truly amazing. I couldn’t tell you what my favourite dishes were because both me and my partner enjoyed every dish and every bite. Highly recommend and would definitely be back.

Fine dining without stuffiness. Highly recommended.

It was wonderful to have their elevated version of the Sunday Roast. Top notch food. The waitress was delightful, but service changed a bit as it got more crowded. Still, the other waiters were glad to help and jump in as needed. The room was well appointed with great ambiance and large structural windows. It got a bit hot in spots, so be aware you may need to sit somewhere with better ventilation or less direct sunlight. I would still highly recommend them based on the high quality of food, elevated take on traditional cuisine, and overall experience with friendly and helpful staff.

Leaf on Bold Street is a charming split-level cafe bar in Liverpool, housed in an old cinema building. It's renowned for serving one of the best breakfasts in the city, offering a diverse range of options including full English breakfast, vegan and veggie choices, and unique dishes like smoked haddock and dill fish cake. We came for brunch. It was quite busy at the time, but there were plenty of seats available, including upstairs, so we were quickly seated. The service was warm and friendly. I really liked the rustic-themed interior design, and the background music was pleasant to listen to. There was a wide variety of menu options, with different brunch and lunch selections. We ordered dishes we had never tried before — sweet items served in a savoury style — and they use halal chicken. We didn’t have to wait long for our food. The presentation was appealing, and the dishes were very flavourful. I noticed an Asian touch in the bread and butter pudding I had. I really enjoyed it at first, though by the end the portion felt a bit too much for me to finish alone. The main reason I chose this restaurant was because they offer matcha latte on the menu, but unfortunately I didn’t find the matcha flavour particularly strong or distinctive. The service was fast and efficient. It’s no surprise they have many loyal customers.
Maudi A — Google review
I have never been to an establishment where all of the waiting staff were impersonal, borderline rude. The waitress could not be bothered (being polite) to divide the bill to our request. The presentation and the portion size of the food we were all served was of low standard with zero presentation. The toilets stunk of heavy urine like one would smell on a dual carriageway lay by. This establishment is definitely not value for money or service. There is also 7.5% automatic service charge! There are plenty more establishment's nearby whom would appreciate your custom. Would not recommend.
Ergun S — Google review
When here for the first time, lady at the front was friendly and helpful, after that a young Asian lady took over, and it went downhill from there. Her voice was barely audible. She did not add jam as a side to the order for toast nor butter, nor did she convey that different bread was available but costed more, or soya also costed more, either way when we sought clarification for the bread from another server, the manager turned up at our table, his attitude was quite belligerent as was his stance. He didn't even resolve the situation as he forgot to add the order, which actually favoured us. The jam should not have been an issue but naturally Leaf made it one. The food was good, so the sourdough toast and jam was excellent, as was the taste of the scrambled egg on granary bread, albeit the egg was cold. The flatwhite was good equally. The bill already had a service charge added, to which we asked for this to be removed as the level of service provided did not merit this charge. Even though the food was good I would not dine here again, sadly the worst service I have encountered for a long time, with a turnip of a manager not dealing with a situation in a calm manner. Staff not trained properly.

I was really excited to try Leaf. I’d heard great things and the place definitely looks lovely inside, with a nice vibe and a cool, laid-back atmosphere. We were a party of four, and after a bit of a wait (understandable since it was busy), we finally got to order. Two of us got exactly what we asked for, but I had ordered the falafel on sourdough and was instead brought a falafel flatbread. When I pointed it out, the waiter took the plate away, only to return a couple of minutes later insisting that it was what I ordered and that the flatbread was actually sourdough. She even said I could have an extra slice of sourdough on the side if I wanted. I had to explain (very politely!) that this didn’t make sense at all, especially since I could literally see that it was the exact same flatbread my friend had ordered—but with falafel instead of chicken. Turns out, they’d merged mine and my friend’s orders into one dish somehow. Meanwhile, my friend who had ordered the chicken flatbread was still waiting, and it took another 20 minutes for hers to arrive. By the time she got her food, the rest of us had already finished eating, so what was meant to be a quick lunch turned into a 2+ hour ordeal. To be fair, the food was tasty and they did take one dish off the bill, which we appreciated. But the whole experience was a bit disappointing—especially being told with a straight face that the most flatbread-looking flatbread was actually sourdough (lol). Overall, nice spot and good food, but probably best to avoid during peak busy times unless you’re happy to take your time (a lot of it).

Booked in here for first date day meal following the birth of our son, having done the same after our daughter was born a few years back. Apart from the wait to be seated when there were a large number of empty tables ready to be used the service was good. Once seated drinks and food orders taken quickly. Coffees arrived very quickly and food shortly after. Neither disappoint and make up for the wait at the start. One salt and pepper chicken burger and one steak baguette went down a treat. Would recommend. Repeat customer and will be returning again!

Bar
The Elephant Pub And Bakehouse, located in the picturesque Woolton Village of Liverpool, is a circa-1934 pub offering globally influenced seasonal dishes. It's an ideal stop after a family walk, catering to all with a kids' menu and even a mini Sunday roast. While not strictly vegan, there are plant-based options available. The pub is known for its relaxed atmosphere and delicious freshly cooked dishes, with some claiming it serves the best fish and chips in Liverpool.
I had a roast dinner on Sunday and it was so good. I've eaten alot in the elephant and food always good, but never had a roast. It was unexpectedly so good . I had the chicken my husband had the beef and my son had the beef wellington. I had a taste and was unreal. Yorkshire puddings are not my thing really but just gorgeous. Finished off with bakewell which was also great. My only thing is if I have to critic is roast potatoes needed to be crispier. Will and have already recommended.

Nice food in this cute elephant-themed pub. They have a cute terrace that must be lovely in summer, and the indoor area is comfortable and large. The food is good and very filling, and the desserts are excessive (the way we like them!). Service is helpful although sometimes a bit sparse. We have been there a couple of times and will go back! I somehow only have pictures of dessert, but will try to share more next time

Great pub & great staff & dog friendly This place is really nice and has a great selection on its food menu. It is delightful food with an international twist. We were a pretty large party with ten of us, but still that was not too much of a problem for them. The staff was also really helpful when we struggled to find a taxi they helped us out, as we were travelling with a dog that somehow increased complications, but the manager supported 100% and found a way to fix it and get us a cab. Really appreciated, this place is 100% recommended by me!

Went for dinner on a Monday early evening (1/3 off main courses on Monday). I had sea bass, my brother had beef Wellington. Both were excellent. Service was alsoexcellent...attentive without being intrusive. Place was pretty busy, but staff wereon top of it all the time

Held a family birthday party in the upstairs function room. Went for the street food buffet option for 40 people which was expensive but absolutely amazing! The function room is so beautiful and the staff were brilliant. We used the sound system to play our Spotify playlist. A perfect birthday celebration with family and friends, and wonderful memories made.

Popped in as the pub had good food reviews and is dog friendly. Large pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Opted to sit inside and as the reviews said, the food was great. Beer choice is average and looks to be tied but the pint of Timothy Taylor's I had was spot on

Fantastic, warm welcome from the staff at the Elephant. We had a dog with us and we were made to feel very at home. The food is absolutely faultless - inventive twists on dishes and everything tasted really good. We all enjoyed our meals from starter, main course to dessert. The starter was different and delicious. I then had the pork tomahawk for main course and the flavours went together so well. And the pavlova for dessert was light and fresh. All very good value for money and the upstairs after its refurbishment looks beautiful. Definitely a new favourite in the area to eat out.

The atmosphere is great, they have all you need from a pub. The decorations, the vibes, the pub quiz, the music, the big bar. However, the food was not the best when we visited, they had a 2 for 1 on the burgers and my simple double cheeseburger was made of small, thin patties and the skinniest slice of cheese. My friend ordered the aubergine one, which didn't taste great either. I chose not to try the coleslaw because it looked a bit stale. Would go again, but only for drinks and fun next time.

Nestled at the intersection of Lark Lane and Aigburth Road, Churrasco Steak House is a charming steakhouse that beautifully blends traditional wood decor with a cozy atmosphere. This independent gem boasts two locations in Liverpool, but the Aigburth venue stands out for its impressive gluten-free menu. Diners can indulge in starters like ribs and garlic mushrooms, followed by succulent steaks served with chunky chips or sweet potato wedges.
From Start, Middle to Ending the service and experience was lovely as always at Churrasco the servers are helpful with product knowledge and attentive. Went for the 8oz Fillet (Medium), Chunky Chips with Peppercorn Sauce alongside a Sauvignon Blanc. Every part of the meal was delightful and is a reason I always come back the Aigburth Road site. Would recommend to anyone in the area or wanting to have a nice evening outside of town, starting here then heading into Lark Lane is never a bad choice!

We booked this restaurant after it came highly recommended by a friend who’d recently visited and said the food was excellent. We chose it for my sister’s 60th birthday and were pleased to see they had a private room available. The staff that looked after us were fantastic and couldn’t have done any more for us. Most of us decided to have the roast option which was roast beef. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The beef was extremely tough and, in some cases, completely inedible. I actually had to take pieces out of my mouth as they couldn’t be chewed. It’s possibly the worst roast I’ve ever had. The roast potatoes felt like they’d been cooked several hours earlier and kept warm under a heat lamp. My plate and Yorkshire pudding were both cold. The common feedback from everyone at the table was that the beef simply wasn’t edible. When we raised this with staff, they offered a 10% discount, which we appreciated, but it didn’t really reflect how poor the food had been. In true British fashion, when the waiting staff asked how everything was earlier, we said it was “fine” only to later discover everyone’s beef was the same. In the end, we didn’t want to waste the food so the friendly staff gsve us a doggy bag so we could give it to the family dog. A real shame, as we’d hoped for a special meal to celebrate a milestone occasion.

The food at this establishment was absolutely outstanding, and the exceptional service made the experience all the more enjoyable. Our server, Marcus, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and demonstrated a rare level of attentiveness, particularly regarding our food allergies. It was refreshing to be served by someone who took our dietary concerns so seriously. Overall, a truly excellent dining experience—10/10.

Excellent meal and great atmosphere at this tapas joint. We ordered the prawns, calamari, croquettes, mac and cheese, Patatas Bravas, and Greek Salad - everything was a treat! They recommended three plates per person. On Thursdays, it was 50% off and they have regular deals.
Suswati B — Google review
Initial introduction was good, as although a table was not available straight away, we were welcomed to the bar for a drink, while we waited 5-10 minutes until one became free. The restaurant dining area was cosy and pleasant and we were given a lovely booth. The host was very friendly and the passion she had for the establishment was obvious. She went through the menu on offer and described the specials available. We had a beer and a medium wine at the bar, £13.55. Then upstairs, 6 tapas dishes, a beer and a large glass of wine for £70.55. The offers advertised (3 starred tapas for £22) are not available at the weekend! The food was good & arrived very promptly after our order. The drinks took two attempts to arrive & the request for table water never arrived. However, we enjoyed our meal, the maître ď was lovely, waiting staff friendly, a comfortable & pleasant environment & the background music was good. We would go back again.

We ordered 6 tapas dishes to share, they came out 2 at a time, at least 15 mins apart, and the truffle fries last! We had 1 drink whilst sat at our table in an hour and we needed to chase it up. The waitresses/waiters were polite though and working hard. The food was nice.

This restaurant is a real gem and is now our favourite place to go for food in Liverpool. All the decor is so Ibizan, you feel as though you’re in the old town. The bar area is beautiful as well. I think there must have been a different chef on yesterday because the food was better than the first time we came. Paella was perfect. The paella sharer and two tapas was more than enough for lunch. And the piña coladas are some of the best I’ve ever tried.

After A LOT of researching Liverpool restaurants, we ended up booking La Finca for my hen do, and I honestly could not have been happier! We were a table of 18, and each and every one of us said the food was unreal, and all came away with only positive things to say! I loved the salt and pepper calamari which was delicious, but those who had the beef brisket mac and cheese were raving about that too! 😋 The food was all brought out pretty quick too, which I was slightly worried about with being such a large table. We did bottomless brunch (the red sangria was gorgeous!) and the staff were constantly coming round topping up our glasses to make sure none of us had an empty glass. All of the staff were so friendly, accommodating and attentive. You all made my hen do so special, and a day to remember! Thank you so much La Finca! ☺️🤍

Edit added 8 Oct 2025 Travelled back to Liverpool and brought an Irish friend to enjoy what had been a great spice bag but what we got this time was disappointing. Chips and chicken were good but this time it was really lacking in spice or flavour. The veg as well was horrendous - it tasted like it had been reheated several times or just overcooked, it was slimy, flavoueless, and to be honest, stomach churning. Thankfully we only ordered one bag to share between us (cause they're massive), but in the end we left half it behind because it wasn't even worth the calorie intake. Would be reluctant to stand by my former review or to recommend again. Two of the core components of a proper spice bag is spice (chilli), and fresh veg (garlic, onion, peppers) were missing, but hopefully it's an easy one to fix. ---- Hands down the best spice bag I've had outside of Ireland – and I don't say that lightly as a spice bag "connoisseur"/Dub who's been eating them for over a decade 😝 Once you get past the initial hit of that star anisey five spice flavour, it’s pretty close to what you'll get back home. Decent chicken, proper chips, and the curry sauce? Pretty sure it’s McDonnell's or a very very good dupe. Pure taste of home. Juicy. A hint of sweetness. Almost perfection! Only knock (if I’m being picky) – I asked for extra chilli and it still wasn’t really that spicy. Mild if anything. I like my spice bags with a kick, and maybe a little more veg (onion, garlic, fresh chilli) 🔥 but still a solid 9.5/10. If you're Irish and living in Liverpool, a Manc based blow-in like me visiting, or just a spice bag enthusiast, this place is worth a visit.

I recently spent the night in Liverpool at @double so popped down into the Turkish restaurant next door for a bite to eat Food/drink⭐️⭐️⭐️ Firstly let's start with the cocktails, we ordered both on and off the menu and all the cocktails were prepared perfectly. The whiskey sours was gorgeous but I had to laugh that it took them 3 attempts to separate an egg white from the yolk! The food was good but not amazing to be honest. We had the mixed mezze and calamari to start and I just felt the calamari was a bit dull and lacking flavour whilst the mezze was presented nicely the Hummus was a bit too tangy and the pitta dry AF, like I know it's bread but this was borderline stale. When mains came and my chicken skewers arrived I have to say I was excited to dive in. I asked for a bit of ketchup for the chips and recieved approximately 10ml in a small bowl, after a few minutes I asked for a little more ketchup and was presented a tatty looking plastic bottle of sauce.... classy! Both the starters and mains were perfectly fine and I wouldn't say I was unhappy with either but I kind of expected something better. Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The staff were super friendly all evening and were always happy to help without being constantly present watching us eat. Overall⭐️⭐️⭐️(⭐️) I am giving this 3.5 stars. There is some finessing needed around some of the food but ultimately this was a really nice meal with some well prepared cocktails. Not bad for a restaurant linked to the hotel.

Best Breakfast hash I’ve had in an age and the bacon and eggs were perfect. The perfect eggs are a dying art but Chris (the chef) has the knack! Hotel
The Shankly Hotel, located just a short walk from Lime Street Station in Liverpool, pays homage to the legendary football manager Bill Shankly. The hotel is adorned with sports memorabilia and features upscale rooms and studios. Its stylish former council house exterior exudes a touch of Manhattan redbrick chic, while the interior boasts an elegant color palette of beige, bronze, and rust-orange. The lobby showcases sepia-toned portraits of Shankly and his famous quotes.
We had our wedding at the Shankly Hotel on the 12th of July, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. From start to finish, the team made sure the day ran smoothly, and we felt completely supported throughout the entire journey. A special mention has to go to Lauren, our incredible wedding coordinator. From the moment we started planning, she was always available to answer any questions and constantly put my mind at ease. No request ever felt too much, and her calm, professional, and friendly nature really helped take the stress out of the planning process. On the morning of the wedding, Claire was there to help with all the final preparations. She was absolutely amazing, keeping everything on track, offering constant reassurance, and going above and beyond to make sure I felt calm and supported. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her that morning and she was a lifesaver! In the evening, Dan took over and continued the same level of outstanding service. He was extremely helpful and ensured that everything ran smoothly right through to the end of the night. Every member of the team played a part in making our big day so special. The venue was stunning, the staff were attentive, and the whole experience was seamless. We can’t thank everyone at the Shankly Hotel enough, we had the most magical day and will treasure the memories forever.

We visited the Shankly recently for my best friends hen party celebrations, a wide range of ages, we booked the Shankly 3 sleeper and an accessible 4 sleeper, we found this a good sized room for a powered wheelchair. We had an absolutely wonderful time. All the staff are absolutely lovely and are so friendly, helpful and attentive, whether that be when booking our accommodation and activities with the events team, helping us decorate the event space we hired and carry items from the car or being served in the restaurant and bar. We enjoyed all the activities and it was great, relaxed and enjoyable for all. Fantastic location, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic staff. Thank you!

Had an amazing weekend away with the girls here for a hen weekend! The rooms are great. An extra bathroom would have been great for a larger party some windows in the rooms did not open and air con was only in the top part, however the hotel were fab and brought us a fan!.

Its a great experience everyone sleeping in the same room, great for a girls trip away. But unfortunately the rooms are starting to look a little tired. Great location not far from the station, bars and restaurants.

Really nice hotel, very spacious. The bathrooms were very large with a jacuzzi style bath/shower. Iron and iron board was provided in the room , AC, and a fan was also there for comfort. The beds were very comfortable . Staff were very nice in checking in, which was fast. The rooms were nicely decorated. There was a view of the city from the room also. No complaints at all. There is a terrace area on the 3rd floor(I think ), which we stumbleb upon by mistake, which looked like a very nice area to have a few drinks and relax.overall a very nice stay, thanks

Very interesting hotel, that's for sure. The building is fabulous but inside very outdated. It is an acquired taste. My room had 2 double beds and 2 jacuzzi, which is just crazy. We stayed in room 517. Need a bit of work. The window sil is falling apart on the bathroom door. You could see someone did a patch job on the door. Very obvious 🙄 most importantly, the bedroom window doesn't open, so should you need fresh air, you have to put air-conditioning on. We had breakfast which was good, staff very friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The only bad thing I noticed was that there was a lady walking around, which I assumed was a duty manager. Lady, why are you walking around with ear pods in your ears. A manager leads by example .

Down the Hatch, located on Duke Street, is a popular spot for vegans and vegetarians seeking creative pub fare in a cozy underground setting. The menu features an array of irresistible junk food options like burgers, hotdogs, and loaded fries—all without meat. With 80% of the menu being vegan-friendly, guests can indulge in dishes such as fried cauliflower with various flavorful glazes, along with seitan wings and burgers that even appeal to meat-eaters.
Great place to eat. An absolutely fantastic menu. The staff were amazing and so helpful. Excellent value for money and super generous portions. You won't leave hungry 😋

So nice to find a well established vegan place, with a cool atmosphere, great drinks and delicious food. I'd almost forgotten what it's like to have choice on a menu! So many places have sadly closed down or pared back their vegan offerings in the last few years, so we were very happy to visit and support Down the Hatch while in Liverpool. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was so so good! A little hidden gem. We loved the city and we'll definitely be coming back here again soon! 😋💚

So much choice here, it's a bit baffling but the waiter was so helpful and took loads of time to run though all the options with us. Brilliant for vegan 'junk', loaded fries, burgers etc there are also a few home cooked meals like a shepherd's pie and Mac & cheese. Good Chinese from the Woo Tan Scran menu and you can mix and match from both menus for any meal deals. The restaurant is in the basement, so it's got a cosy vibe but no views. The family who own this place obviously put in their heart and soul , thought and a lot of hard work and it really shows. So happy to have visited and also seen amazing Carl Warner art work again!

Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, a safe and atmospheric place. Cocktails are amazing and the food is great, portion sizes are huge so good value for money! We're slowly working our way through the menu - the only critique I could say is burgers are quite soft and fall apart so would recommend cutlery.

I've walked down Duke St for many years but have never ever noticed this place before. I always like to try out a new place, well I thought it was new place, but I was told that it's been in business for 8 years. Anyway its the neon sign saying "BAR" that caught my eye, so had to try it out for a pint. You walk down a few steps to a basement level to get in, but it's like the Tardis inside, it's a lot larger than it looks from outside. It's primarily a vegan restaurant and unfortunately I'm not a vegan but I must say the smell of the food was very enticing. We had just called in for a drink and must say it's a very nice quiet place to have a pint. Staff are very pleasant and brought the drinks to the table for us. I've never called a bar this before but would classify this place a lovely hideaway where no one would find you. So if you'd like a quiet drink in a busy city it's a very good place to go.

A fantastic vegan junk food place with a mix of Asian fusion style, ribs/wings, fries and burgers with the best vegan desserts around too! They make all their own meat substitutes like seitan and mushroom wings too. I always get the BBQ seitan wings, but the oyster mushroom 'chicken' on the loaded fries was also amazing

Absolutely loved everything about their options. I’m not vegan but I have food allergies- my partner is gf and vegan!! We have to avoid dairy, most grains/wheat/gluten, sesame, most nuts- and I was able to get so many amazing gluten free and allergy friendly foods! We got the cauliflower, chili cheese fries, ribs, burgers! Highly Recommend this place, the staff spent time talking to us and we had an overall amazing meal. We drove to Liverpool for the experience!

Delicious!! Me and a friend (both vegan) came here and ordered the Kebabish loaded fries, Salt and Pepper tofu with rice and BBQ wings. The wings were a little overcooked but the rice...we have never tasted rice so flavourful, I wanted to order another portion! We also ordered the Oreo cheesecake, very sweet and lots of cream cheese flavour, so I wouldn't have been able to finish by myself. Our waitress was lovely and our waiter very attentive. Definitely would recommend!
