Art Museums
Located in Suginami, Tokyo, the Suginami Animation Museum is a must-visit for anime enthusiasts and newcomers alike. While Akihabara is often associated with anime culture, Suginami holds the roots of Japanese animation, boasting 138 studios in the area. The museum offers free admission and features a diverse collection of anime-related exhibits that trace the art form's rich history. Visitors can enjoy learning about Japanese animation through screenings of historical and popular works, as well as special exhibitions.
You will need to take a bus from the station or you are in for a long long walk, BUT well worth it. Japan always has so many of the usual tourist track events etc that are all worth finding out about and visiting, even if just to get away from the hyper tourist crowds. This gem features a history of anime and manga across 2 floors. Obviously, it is impossible to cover every genre and style, so it focuses on well known and loved anime and manga. They have free portable translation guides devices and some interactive elements and lots of photo ops. Well, well worth it.
P W — Google review
Much better than the other nearby museum. Free admission. Friendly and helpful staff. Pictures allowed almost everywhere. Some English translation provided. English audio guide. Lots of hand on activities in addition to the character models and animation history. There was a place to do voice overs and an entire room dedicated to trying tracing and computer animation. Three stamps were available near the elevator on the third floor.
David B — Google review
What an absolute honor to be able to visit this anime museum. The museum itself is so worth it that I would have paid to enter. Walking around reading about the history of anime was a great experience. There are many pieces that anime lovers would notice. They even have intractable areas that I recommend visiting. An easily recommended place to visit.

I had a wonderful time at the Suginami Animation Musuem today! It’s on the third floor of the building. You walk in towards the elevator which is on the left and go up! I’ve been so bummed with the weather lately… so much rain… but the staff were wonderful and extremely accommodating and kind. They brightened my day! The accessibility of the venue inside is also great. They had multi-language audio guide devices (English, Chinese, Korean, etc.) that were so informative and helpful. This audio device is pictured in my first photo below (yellow lanyard with the black pen-like device and green mat). You tap the pen on the mat at the number of the exhibit you were looking at and it would give you all sorts of good information and explanations about what you were seeing! Very cool. The hands on opportunities were another really important part of the experience too! You could make your own voice over dub as well as your own light box tracing or animation! It was extremely clean inside as well! The presentation of the information as well as the overall atmosphere was great. For a free museum, very impressive. Suginami ward information pamphlets, museum stamps and event posters were also available. Don’t miss the Namisuke (Suginami mascot) merchandise either… so cute!

Very educational without being draggy, super fun with a lot of interactive exhibits. Must visit for all animation fans. You can try your hand at voice acting, tracing, creating your own animation. And once you’re tired, pick an animation DVD and watch it in the library. 10/10 must visit. Best of all, it’s free of charge.
Nur N — Google review
It’s very small, probably wouldn’t have gone if not for the yuru camp exhibition. But that was nice, and the anime production drawings were very interesting to look at (but you can’t take photos of them)
David H — Google review
Nice little exhibition if you’re in the area. Lot’s of activities aimed at little kids.
Mariano — Google review
A nice little free museum and library on Japanese animation and the animators themselves. I highly recommend visiting them. Manhole cards are distributed on the 3rd floor.

Nishi-Ogikubo Station is a serene neighborhood in western Tokyo, adjacent to the bustling commercial area of Kichijoji. It offers a tranquil shopping street with chic boutiques and over 60 antique and secondhand stores. The North Exit leads to Kotto Street, where antique stores evoke a sense of stepping into ancient treasure troves. This area is popular among those who appreciate counter-culture, reflected in its eclectic shops, restaurants, and bars.

(Translated by Google) This is the station where the Chuo Line rapid train and Chuo/Sobu Line local trains stop. Chuo Line Rapid trains only stop at this station on weekdays. There are many small restaurants around the station, and as soon as you pass through the shops, it becomes a residential area. The air tastes of quiet routine — antique shops dusted with time, coffeehouses filled with soft jazz. Locals greet one another without hurry, each day unfolding like a handwritten letter. The yellow line hums softly below, carrying commuters who still notice seasons and neighbors’ faces. Tourist Tip: Famous for antique stores and cozy cafés. Perfect for secondhand book browsing or slow lunch hours. Visit in late afternoon for warm sunlight along the shopping streets.

(Translated by Google) Nishi-Ogikubo Station is a convenient station with good access to Shinjuku and Kichijoji, as it is a stop on the JR Chuo Line and Sobu Line. The station premises are relatively compact and have a calm atmosphere overall, making it an easy-to-use station not only for daily commuters and students, but also for nearby residents. The platform is on an elevated track and has two island platforms, with platforms 1 and 2 for local trains on the Chuo and Sobu Lines, and platforms 3 and 4 for rapid trains on the Chuo Line. However, rapid trains pass through on weekends and holidays, so caution is required when using the Chuo Line. Safety is also taken into consideration, with platform doors installed to prevent falls. The electronic bulletin boards and announcements are easy to see, and the boarding directions are clear. There is only one ticket gate, and it is designed to allow exit in two directions, the south exit and the north exit. Basic facilities such as the convenience store "NewDays", coin lockers, Midori no Madoguchi, and ATMs are available around the ticket gate, making the station very convenient. The toilets are kept clean, multi-function toilets are available, and the station is barrier-free. When you leave the station, there is an old-fashioned shopping street at the south exit, with many privately owned shops such as cafes, bakeries, and second-hand bookstores, giving you a sense of the warmth of the local area. The north exit side is a slightly quieter residential area, dotted with supermarkets and clinics, making it a convenient environment for daily life. There is also a bicycle parking area in front of the station, making it easy to commute to work or school by bicycle. In general, Nishi-Ogikubo Station is not as flashy as a large terminal, but the premises are well-organized and all the necessary facilities are available, making it a very easy-to-use station. The atmosphere of the town around the station is also friendly, so even first-time visitors can use it with ease. It seems to have been loved by residents for many years as a comfortable station rooted in daily life. Asagaya Shinmeigū is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu, which was rebuilt in 2001 and has become a popular venue for weddings. The shrine offers colorful good-luck charms called kan-musubi with unique lacy designs, available for purchase at 1,000 yen each. Throughout the year, the shrine has varying opening hours from as early as 5 am to as late as 6 pm.
Beautiful shrine worth a visit. Currently they offer paper embroided goshuin, one of them even in collaboration with JR central.

Asagaya Shinmeigu Shrine is a calm, beautiful spot just minutes from JR Asagaya Station. Surrounded by greenery, it offers a peaceful escape from the city noise. The shrine is well-kept and rich in tradition, often hosting local festivals and rituals. A perfect place to reflect, relax, or connect with Japanese culture in a quiet neighborhood setting.

Asagaya Shinmeigu Shrine is a peaceful spot in Tokyo! I visited in April and luckily saw a few cherry blossoms. The highlight for me was their unique embroidered Goshuin and bracelets - they're very beautiful and worth collecting. If you want a calm place to visit with some special keepsakes, this shrine is a great choice. Highly recommend it!

A nice peaceful shrine with a few prominent sakura trees. They have unique embroidered bracelets and goshuin, unfortunately they are sold out (2 Apr 2024). But they do have the standard items on sale. They do have a list of activities indicated at the door. Interestingly, while the shrine is dedicated to Amaterasu, they carry moon design items.

Asagaya Pearl Center Shopping Street, with a history dating back to the Taisho period, was named after a contest and symbolizes the interconnectedness of its shops. The street hosts annual events like Halloween and Jazz festivals, but the Tanabata Matsuri is the most significant one. Spanning 650 meters, this covered street offers traditional sweets shops, unique bric-a-bracs, and old-school grocers where you can interact with local grandmas.

The Ghibli Museum is a delightful haven for fans of animation and art, located just a short stroll from Mitaka Station. This enchanting space pays tribute to the beloved Studio Ghibli, creators of iconic films like Totoro and Spirited Away. Visitors can immerse themselves in original artwork, enjoy exclusive animated shorts in the cozy cinema, and wander through the rooftop garden featuring the impressive Robot Soldier from Laputa Castle in the Sky.
What a lovely place to visit for Ghibli fans. There's so much history and behind the scenes of original artwork and makings of various movies. Tickets are quite challenging to come by so don't expect to just show up the day of and expect to get in as you need to book well in advance! Be respectful and do not take pictures on the inside, only outside. For those tight on time, you can do the entire museum, with short movie feature, and shopping in about 1.5 hours. Definitely worth the trip and knocked off my bucket list.
C T — Google review
This place is magical! Every detail has been considered to make the Ghibli Museum fun for both kids and adults. Don't miss the screening for a short film that can only be watched at the museum. Photography is not allowed inside the building but outside is ok. Tickets must be purchased in advance for entry.
Dennis T — Google review
The Ghibli Museum was the highlight of my 2-week trip to Japan!! I cannot describe adequately what a fulfilling experience this was. Ticket reservations are required and getting tickets internationally is honestly based on luck when entering the queue at time of them opening. Seems like they split the population of tickets in half between international vs domestic, so if you have a friend/family who lives in Japan and have a Japanese address/phone #, you will have much better luck getting tickets due to availability. As for the museum itself, there are plenty of reviews and videos regarding the exhibitions and highlights. It made me appreciate the Studio Ghibli films even more and how much effort goes into the making of a film due to volume of frames, laying out storyboards, etc. Photos inside the exhibits are prohibited which I also think allows visitors to just be more immersed in the content and visuals that Miyazaki himself had a hand in designing. If you get a chance to go to Ghibli Museum—prioritize this among all the other places and things to do in Japan. Even my husband, who has only seen a couple films so not a full SG “enthusiast”, had a great time at this museum and thought the exhibits were fascinating :)
Michelle K — Google review
Loved this place! It really feels like stepping into a Ghibli movie with colorful hallways, spiral stairs, stained glass, and so many tiny details everywhere. The exhibits show how the films are made with sketches and storyboards, and there’s a monthly rotating short film you can only watch here, which makes it extra special. The gift shop has lots of exclusive items like postcards, figures, plushies, and ceramics, it’s definitely worth browsing. I also stopped by the cafe and got a chocolate cake and black tea; the cake was moist, fluffy, and not too sweet. You need to buy tickets in advance (they sell out quickly and aren’t sold at the door), and you can only take photos outside. The rooftop garden with the Castle in the Sky robot is such a lovely space.
Miffy — Google review
Finally got the chance to visited the Ghibli Museum with my friend. We went there as the weather was cloudy and end up raining cat and dog. As someone who enjoys Ghibli films this is one of the bucketlist that must visit. it’s a wonderful place to explore. You can queue to enjoy the exclusive short films screen monthly, artwork, drawings, a short animation, gift shop and the atmosphere was wonderful. When you enter the museum be mindful because photos and videos are strictly prohibited. Overall, it’s a nice good experience and worth to visit especially if you are a Ghibli fan. The ticket are cheap but you have to make a reservation book a ticket a month before.
Yurisa — Google review
The Ghibli museum is such a magical place. The decor and exhibits were fascinating. The details of the artwork all beautiful. There is a ticket (film strip souvenir)for a short film included in the admission - the movie was so cute. There is no photography allowed indoors. You just have to appreciate it all with your eyes. We had tickets for the 4pm entry, and in November it gets a bit dark quickly for the exterior shots but it wasn't too crowded.
Mary X — Google review
I enjoyed this museum very much! An indoor museum that focuses on the history and animation of Studio Ghibli. You can immerse yourself into Hayao Miyazaki’s work and explore some of the intricate details found in this museum. A lovely place to relax and get lost into the world of Ghibli! Try to visit on a weekday and first slot in the AM ^_^
The A — Google review
We visited the museum in the morning slot, and the arrival felt quite charming, even though the neighborhood we walked through beforehand was a bit less clean than expected. The museum itself is surrounded by a pleasant environment and has a cozy atmosphere. Inside, the building feels a bit dated, but the exhibitions were interesting and offered a glimpse into the world of Studio Ghibli. Some areas were mildly interactive, though I felt the museum could benefit from more engaging, hands-on elements – especially considering the theme. The space itself is smaller than I imagined and could definitely be expanded to create a richer experience. A practical note: all descriptions inside were only in Japanese, so non-Japanese speakers might miss some context, and photography or phone use is strictly prohibited. Overall, it’s clearly designed with children in mind. If you’re visiting Tokyo as a group of adults, I would not consider it a must-see, as there are many other attractions in the city that may be more rewarding. Still, it was a unique and memorable experience for any fan of Ghibli.

The complex spans five floors and houses various outlets such as Mandarake for new and secondhand manga, Fujiya Avic for rare CDs/DVDs/anime, and shops selling collectible action figures. It's a popular spot for the otaku community with most of the geek action found on the second and third floors.
It’s a must go place for figurine bargain hunters. Everyone goes to Akihabara for figurines but missed out on this superb place. Besides figurines and gashspons there are also other souvenirs that you can get here. P.s: I visit this place on my occasions. You won’t miss it. Just a distance from the last station of the Tozai line. Along the way there are many eateries too.

Nakano Broadway is a fantastic spot for finding vintage treasures, from watches to anime collectibles. I picked up a few great items here — just make sure to check everything carefully before buying. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into unique finds!

Nakano Broadway is a great place for anime and collectible lovers. The mall has many small shops with rare figures, manga, vintage toys, and unique items you can’t find anywhere else. It’s easy to reach, fun to explore, and has a special old-school vibe. A perfect spot for fans who enjoy treasure hunting.

For us not looking for any particular anime toys or figures, first visit here & this place offers a different nostalgic kind of vibe. More toys seen on the upper storey, and less crowd similar to shopping street in other cities. Unlikely for us to revisit due to interest and it is out of the way

Awesome hidden gem (not so hidden anymore I guess) to buy anime, otaku merchandise as well as the primary reason why I visited. WATCHES. Whether used or brand new the various shops here have many to offer from different popular brands like Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko, JLC, Patek Philippe and many others. Women's luxury bags are also being offered. Just roam around and compare prices and inventory and most likely you could walk away with your dream watch tax free (if you are a foreigner).

Nakano Broadway is a must-visit spot for anime, manga, and collectible fans! There are tons of unique shops packed with figures, vintage items, and souvenirs. The atmosphere is lively but not too crowded, and it’s easy to spend hours exploring each floor.

Nakano Broadway is a must go for anime lovers and retro collectibles. Multi-story building lined with rows and rows of stores with variety. For anime lovers, you have to stop by Lashinbang. Thank me later. Prices vary so be sure to visit multiple stores before picking up the piece you’re going for. Best of luck and have fun. Good for a rainy day.

Tucked away just five minutes from Shinjuku by train, Nakano Broadway is a paradise for anime fans, retro gamers, and treasure hunters of all kinds. This multi-floor shopping complex may look modest from the outside, but inside it’s a labyrinth of nostalgia, collectibles, and geeky wonders. 🕹️ What’s Inside? Each floor is like a time machine – packed with rare figurines, vintage manga, capsule toys, and second-hand gems you won’t find anywhere else. It’s Mandarake central here – with many branches specializing in everything from signed manga to old-school PlayStation games. 🎨 Not Just for Otakus Beyond anime, you’ll find quirky fashion boutiques, oddball antiques, underground art, and even traditional sweets. There’s also a shrine tucked away in the upper floors for a moment of peace amid the chaos. 🍜 Fuel Up! Grab a melonpan or sip a bubble tea in between shops – Nakano’s shotengai (covered street) leading up to Broadway is filled with snack spots and cozy eateries. 📸 Pro Tip: Look up and look closely – many of the best finds are hidden behind unassuming doors or nestled in tiny shops on the upper levels. This place rewards curiosity. ⸻ ✨ Whether you’re a hardcore collector or just love the quirky side of Japan, Nakano Broadway is a must-visit. It’s Akihabara’s weirder, cooler cousin – and a place where time stands still in the best way.

Omiya Hachiman Shrine is a serene Shinto shrine complex nestled in forested grounds, known for its spring cherry blossoms and popular New Year festival. Founded in 1063 by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi, the shrine enshrines Emperor Ojin, Emperor Nakai, Empress Jingu, and is a popular spot for praying for easy childbirth, child-rearing, and match-making due to its stories of deep parent-child bonds.
One of the largest shrines in the area so you're bound to visit at some point, either for the first shrine visit of the new year or outside of peak visiting hours. I celebrated the New Year of 2023 here and had to visit again at the end of 2024 while it was still less crowded. Definitely recommend a visit!

WoW! Amazing Shinto Shrine. Long approach walk and many Tori gates. Well kept and popular with many residents. Well worth a visit.

I visit every time I stay nearby, sometimes multiple times on a trip. It is a lovely temple with a park nearby. There are constantly things going on here and it's always worthwhile stopping in. On this trip over golden week, there was a sword demonstration, a drum concert, children's day, and some other event that I couldn't figure out. During festivals, food and games are available. You can get some water and use the toilets here at other times. There is Japanese archery here as well and you can see it on the right on the temple. I have never been inside of the archery house, so I just rewatch from outside. Not sure if they welcome people inside. I love early morning here as it is truly beautiful. It might be worth a special trip to some, but I don't think it is so special that it would be worth a medium to long journey (>30 minutes). Make sure you visit the nearby park, there is radio exercises every morning at 0630. From the temple, leave via the exit to right, cross over the river and walk about 15 minutes to the right. It takes place in one of the playgrounds. You will see people starting to gather around 0620 or so.

A pretty nice shrine to visit - first came here during a long run. Lots of families with kids for their 3,5,7 and baby shrine visit. In the annex you can get some tea and warabi mochi and browse through some products/merchandise for sale.

An incredible space in the middle of a neighborhood. It’s a massive complex with big tori gates and a long walkway. The shrine itself is magical and tranquil. It is adjoins the Wadabori Park complex along the Zenpuku-ji River. It’s a quiet retreat. It gets busy during New Years as well as cherry blossom season. Enjoy!

Well maintained and quite serene as usual. If you're into shrines you know what to expect. Very quiet during weekdays and adjacent to a very pretty (and quite large) park.

On a summer evening, during twilight, you can experience a profound sense of serenity, reminiscent of Studio Ghibli's "Spirited Away." On a related note, the renowned animation director, Hayao Miyazaki, spent much of his youth in this vicinity. My daughters love SevenTeen ice, which you can buy at the vending machine near the main shrine.

A lovely, quiet and relaxing park stretching along the stream. I had the opportunity to see the last of the cherry blossoms before sakura season was fully over and it was a beautiful sight to see pink petals adorning each side of the stream path. The pond in the middle of the park was nice for viewing of fish, tortoises and a variety of local birds. Mostly people seem to be relaxing and enjoying the greenery with a few sitting down to sketch the patches of yellow irises dotted along the pond.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the Chuo Line rapid train passes through the area. Although the station is located between two large stations, the area around Nishi-Ogikubo Station has a somewhat lonely atmosphere. There are almost no tall buildings in front of the station, and you can do most of your shopping at the Seiyu store below the station. The area near the station is mostly residential, but there aren't many large apartments. There are only large commercial facilities in front of the station, such as Seiyuichi, but since there is a large station nearby, it doesn't feel that inconvenient. There are small shops scattered around the station, and there are a fair number of people on holidays. If you go a little further, you can walk to Inokashira Park and Zenpukuji Park. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, a stunning architectural marvel designed by Kenzo Tange, is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the vibrant city of Tokyo. This iconic complex features two impressive towers, each offering free observatories on their 45th floors that provide breathtaking panoramic views of Shinjuku's skyline and beyond. Recently, the buildings have gained even more attention due to the TOKYO Night & Light event, showcasing the world's largest permanent projection mapping display on their exterior.
Both North and South Observatory are at the 45th storey. The lift entrance is only at Building No. 1, ground floor. The lift takes 55 seconds to reach the top. Mount Fuji will be visible from both towers on a clear day. South tower has a grand piano open to public for performance from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm.

Incredible nightly video shows with music on the building. Has a fantastic observation deck on the top of both buildings. On the ground floor there is a small mall with two of the best visitors information centers in Tokyo. Visit during the daytime to learn about Tokyo and overlook the city then visit at night to see show and a very different view from the observation deck.
Adam Z — Google review
Not a lot of tourists know about this attraction, which is completely free!! The observatory decks are as good as the other towers out there. The wait to go up is minimal. The fact that there is a public piano for performances makes it more mesmerizing. There is a small cafe on the top, so you can easily chill while watching the view or the performers. The night shows are also worth watching. There are different songs and projections. The building is quite close to a station.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An unforgettable (and free!) Tokyo experience! Hard to believe that such a professional and well-managed observatory is completely free to visit! The panoramic views of Tokyo are truly breathtaking—even though I couldn’t catch Mt. Fuji due to cloudy weather, the experience was still remarkable. What made the atmosphere even more special was the public piano—each performer played so beautifully, and the queue was organized very smoothly. Small details like a free water fountain and reasonably priced vending machines made the visit even more comfortable. If you’re visiting Tokyo, this is a must-see spot! Can’t recommend it enough.
Lawrence L — Google review
It's an amazing free viewing platform! South entrance has always short lines. Come for stunning sunset views. And dont forget to catch the light show, starting from 19.30... This summer they have a nice grassy area to chill while watching.

Unlike incorrectly recommended Shinjuku L Sun Tower, the Metropolitan Government building has a free observation deck on the 45th floor. You can view almost every direction from there. The have gifts and refreshments for sale too. Highly worth the visit IMHO.

One of the best observatories in Tokyo, with two separate observatory decks, a north one and a south one. Both have amazing views of the city at just the right height. The south observatory even has a piano designed by Yayoi Kusama free for your playing (five minute limit). Best of all, both decks are free!
Justin L — Google review
One of the best observation decks in Tokyo! The view was absolutely amazing — and it’s free! We’re glad we came. Honestly, the North deck alone is enough; no need to visit both. Also a small shopping area filled with cool trinkets such as Godzilla. Highly recommended!

Nestled in the heart of Tokyo, Yoyogi Park is a sprawling urban oasis that spans an impressive 134 acres. This vibrant park features serene lakes, charming fountains, and lush forested areas adorned with mature trees, making it a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Located just south of Shinjuku and near the iconic Yoyogi National Gymnasium, it's easily accessible for both locals and tourists alike.
A nice park to relax in or go for a jog. Most of the park is tree lined paths and bench areas though it has a few extra sections. There is a beautiful butterfly garden on the south side that I'd recommend. A herb / rose garden. A dog park. And a lake for viewing birds... Though they were hiding during our visit.

A newfound favorite park! 🌿 It’s very clean and well-maintained, making it such a pleasant place to explore. I visited in winter (January) and loved that it wasn’t crowded. Just be sure to dress warmly so you can fully enjoy walking around. There are food stalls around, but since Shibuya is within walking distance, you’ll have plenty of dining options nearby. Definitely a must-visit spot in Tokyo!

Beautiful gem found right around the corner from Harajuku station. Conveniently located & within walking distance of Takeishita street shopping area. I went on a Sunday and it was busy but not crowded. The park is filled with gorgeous big lush trees, giving off such a peaceful vibe. I loved seeing the shrine and all the gates. This is a great place to come if you're looking to get a break from the hustle and bustle, to relax or have a little lunch. At the Yoyogi park main stage you'll find alot of events happening. Filled with live performances to tons of food tents. Highly recommends to stop by and take it all in.

Beautiful and very lovely, at least today (26th October), with many food stalls and musicians playing. If you continue and walk more to the centre of the park, it’s much quieter (it was also the end of the day, so it might me more crowded on the morning or early afternoon). Too bad there’s a lot of construction going on (hence the 4 stars), as I was hoping to come here and relax, to escape from the Shibuya madness!…

People say it's like Central Park in NYC. It is indeed a big and enjoyable park. But I don't know why I can't find the huge pond with a fontaine in the center of the park. The park is renowned for its cherry blossoms, attracting crowds to admire the majestic weeping cherry blossom tree at Rikugien Garden. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely date with attractions like swan boats, temples to explore, and opportunities for picnics.
Lovely park, an oasis of tranquility in the midst of a bustling city. We were surprised by how calm and large it is. Beautifully laid out, spotless and numerous activities. The park also contains a small zoo. The lake adds to the overall serenity. You can rent a pedalo, or a rowing boat, to admire the scenery from the water. The train station is very close to an entrance, and the park is free of charge. Afterwards cross the station to find yourself in covered shopping streets. Plenty of shops and restaurants around, including in the train station.

Such a beautiful, tranquil park with a lake in the middle. You can even hire out different boats for half an hour from a dock (row boats, Swan pedal boats) to take across the lake. I took a pedal boats with a friend. This was such a great and fun experience. There are also a few shrines around the park, and a few streets with eateries and shops to look around if you get bored. There's also a playground for little kids. The greenery is also spectacular, especially against the backdrop of the lake. I went during June but the park was still very lush. Highly recommend this spot as a nice break from the busy Tokyo city.

Inokashira Park Zoo is a family-friendly destination in Tokyo, Japan. It features interactive experiences where visitors can touch and hold small animals. The zoo is divided into two sections: one dedicated to breeding and releasing mandarin ducks into the wild, along with other indigenous animals like red-crowned cranes, Amur cats, rhesus monkeys, and Yaku deer; the other section houses various species including tropical birds.
Great zoo with so much to see and do, would recommend at least 2-3 hours to fully experience and enjoy it. They also have a cafe and small shop, and the cherry trees were starting to bloom. You also get entry to the aquatic park with the one ticket which is nice.

This zoo is great! There is a lot to see and do with the sculpture garden and history museum areas as well as a number of areas with animals. What I like about this one is it was very open and animals weren't squished into tiny pens like we have seen before (at Ueno Zoo for example). There is also a second area across the bridge to see the water birds and to walk through more of the area. It's very beautiful and nice for a relaxing day wandering around.

A nice small zoo, good for about an hour or so with the kids. Children up to 12 go I'm for free and adults are only 400 ¥ so it's inexpensive addition to a walk in the park. Don't miss the squirrel trail.

The Meguro Parasitological Museum, established in 1953 by Satoru Kamegai, a doctor concerned about the impact of parasites on post-war Japan, is a unique and somewhat unusual museum in Tokyo. It houses around 300 samples of 45,000 parasites collected by Kamegai. The museum's second floor features an impressive display of an 8.8-meter tapeworm taken from a patient's body.
I went back in early November of last year. This free museum was great! I was in shock with how old some of the specimens were that were on display! Don’t come here if you just recently eaten food! Haha great displays and facts to read on most of the larger displays. Great opportunities for photos as well! On the second floor there is a gift shop! Check it out and support the owners! Also at the entry there is a small box for donations since they are operating the museum and allowing it to be free to all guests!

Exactly what it says on the front door - no more, no less. It's equal parts gross and fascinating. But it's real. And it's a particular appreciation for science and the scientists who dedicate their lives to studying and discovering things like this. The museum itself does not cover a lot of physical ground - only two modest rooms on two floors, but a lot is packed into the space. Definitely worth your time.
Christopher S — Google review
Amazing, and a bit creepy, all the weird critters that can affect you (and/or other animals) in some horrible ways. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. The museum is small but very interesting. It is free to enter but please help it stay open with a donation if you can.
Ys D — Google review
A wonderful experience as it’s so educational. It’s incredible and I like how they provide QR codes for access to page to find out more about the parasite. Really enjoyable and should be a stop in your Tokyo trip!
Janet C — Google review
We had a great time at the museum!! The specimens were carefully preserved and very fascinating ( •͈૦•͈ ). Some of them even include the host of the parasites so people can see how these subjects were affected. I learned some interesting facts there (such as elephantiasis is caused by a type of parasite called nematode!). The staff members were really nice and helpful. There's no admission fee and the coin lockers are free as well so if you want to support them, you can use their donate box or buy something from the souvenir stand. The T-shirts and the key chains were my favorite. The museum was pretty small so you can definitely squeeze in a visit for 2 hours or less. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about parasites or just to satisfy your curiosity :)
Nương Đ — Google review
It's a fascinating topic, and the museum pulls it off decently, with some amazing displays (the 8m tapeworm e.g.). Wish there was more english content, and a bit more to it. You can probably finish the whole museum in less than an hour. Lockers are free for a 100yen deposit.
Chak O — Google review
Free entry Museum, no tickets Required! And it is filled to the brim with creepy crawlies and little monsters known to cause extreme diseases and disorders. Parasitology so much fun!!

If youre a meandering tourist, this spot was fun! Its free but accept donations. Lots of different specimens, photos, stories, and even merch. Its self guided and my son (9) and I spent about 30 minutes and were scarred for life so it was memorable >.< I personally find it interesting so it was a great bizarre detour but obviously avoid if you dont want to see actual parasites.

Nakano Sun Mall Shotengai is a covered pedestrian arcade in the western side of Tokyo, just a few stops away from Shinjuku. It features 110 shops and snack stalls lining a tiled walkway under an arched, glass-panel ceiling. The arcade leads to Nakano Broadway shopping center, known for its otaku culture offerings such as figures, anime, manga, vintage movie posters, and cosplay goods.
Good variety and u ought to set aside at least 3 hours here. Most shops are opened only at noon. Don’t come too early.

From Nakano Station, cross the street - so convenient. Take 1-2 hrs to look at the various shops and if you’re not tired, continue to Nakano Broadway. Watch the cute puppies, shop for clothes, or grab a bite to eat!

Nakano Sun mall was quite cool to visit. It's different from a traditional mall. Over there are very special items and things such as figurines of anime, mangas, studio Ghibli, nintendo, as well as games and vintage items for collection, etc. It's was cool to discover and got some nice decoys in quite affordable price 😄👍🏻

I remained surprised to find such a place in Nakano: when I first booked my accommodation here I thought it was a plain area, instead I found this beautiful street full of shops, restaurants and street food. Also, the street is attached to Nakano Broadway (another small Mall), the area is surrounded by tons of small restaurants and it is just 1m walk from the North entrance/exit of Nakano Station. I loved every single corner of it, from the location to the offer! A lot of shops offer Tax free and in quite the majority of the shops I visited there was somebody able to speak a bit of English. Good food, good prices and great atmosphere! Rather you live or are staying in Nakano or not, it is worth a visit!

Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory is a must-visit for Studio Ghibli fans in Setagaya, Tokyo. This cozy bakery and cafe, owned by Hayao Miyazaki's sister-in-law, exudes the whimsical charm of a Miyazaki film. The two-story establishment features rustic decor and original sketches by Miyazaki.
Absolute cuteness overload! The Totoro cream puffs are as delicious as they are adorable. Excellent quality, with a lovely selection of seasonal flavors. Tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood, it’s a perfect little escape from the city buzz. Easily one of our favorite stops in Tokyo — 10/10!

Stepping into Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory in Setagaya City feels like wandering straight into a Studio Ghibli film! As someone looking for an interesting and different lunch spot, this place delivered pure magic. The Totoro cream puffs are every bit as adorable as they look in the pictures, almost too cute to eat. I had the Custard flavor (just like the one pictured!) and it was not only incredibly charming but also deliciously light and creamy. The entire cafe upstairs exudes a whimsical Ghibli charm, making it a truly unique and delightful place to enjoy a sweet and savory lunch. A must-visit for Ghibli fans and anyone seeking a truly special experience! Please note, arrive early if you want as table as there can be a queue to enter. There's no queue for takeaways though.

This place was so cute! I loved all of the little decorations on the shelves and adorable framed posters on the walls. It’s a small shop but there isn’t really much need for a lot of space anyway, so it’s not a big issue. The cream puffs are so cute that I almost didn’t want to eat mine at first, but when I finally took a bite I couldn’t stop because it was so delicious. I highly recommend going here if you are a Studio Gibli fan, or even if you aren’t and just happen to be in the area. Either way, you won’t regret it!

I absolutely LOVED this cafe and it exceeded my expectations in the best possible way. When you step inside, there is a small takeaway shop on your left and when you go upstairs, you will find the cafe where you can sit and have a coffee and Totoro cream puff (amongst other baked goods). We got seated right away at the most charming table overlooking the entryway staircase and service was prompt and excellent throughout our visit. The cream puffs themselves were so delicious!! Sometimes with themed foods, it can be underwhelming when you actually try it. At this cafe however, you can tell the bakers take pride in crafting their pastries. We had a custard cream puff and a blueberry one with a coffee and both were divine (see pics of disassembled totoros for reference lol). It is such a happy, uplifting place to visit and it was also nice to see how happy these cute totoros made everyone, from young to old. I dream of returning here one day.

Sweet place in a BEAUTIFUL and quiet neighbourhood. There was a wait for the dine-in cafe, so I purchased two buddies to go. The bachan behind the counter was super sweet, helpful, and had a wonderful smile. I had the Raspberry & Cream Cheese Totoro and the Custard Cream Totoro. Both were fantastic. The pastry was a good crunch and not sweet, which balanced the much sweeter insides well. The raspberry one had a strong cheesecake flavuor, which I like, but some may not. The custard was fantastic. I would recommend for a sweet solo or couples date, friends meet up, and a treat to spoil oneself.
Winnie C — Google review
A place catering to fans of Ghibli films, Shiro-Hige's Cream Puff Factory provides cute, photo worthy delicacies but with standard tasting profiles. If you aren't fans of Totoro or anything Ghibli, then it's best to skip this one. But if you are fans, I'd recommend just getting take out and going through the omiyage they have for sell because the food options and dining area isn't anything special. I arrived 30 minutes before opening and ended up second in line. By opening time the line had grown to over capacity and not everyone would be seated. There is only seating for around 20 people. I ordered one of each flavor of Totoro Cream Puff and a cappuccino. The flavors at the time (they are seasonal) were custard, blueberry, mango, and chocolate. The problem with these puffs is that they aren't made fresh. Which is understandable considering how they are decorated but they certainly taste like they've been in storage for awhile. It has that "refrigerator" character and aftertaste to it. But as far as the fillings go, I'd say the blueberry and mango are better tasting than the custard and chocolate. The clarity of the fruit flavor was very strong and you get bits of pulp as well. It is also slightly sweeter than the custard and chocolate ones. The custard one I'd say is pretty standard issue with it being slightly sweeter than the average cream puff in Japan. Now the chocolate one was the least sweet and the most average/standard issue one out of all of them. I'd skip this one even if you are a chocolate lover. There was no distinct or unique chocolate flavors coming out of this. Just double up on another flavor if you are considering multiple puffs. The cappuccino is below average here. It was slightly bitter with no natural sweetness and was overloaded with milk. I do not recommend getting one. The dining area is nothing special either. It's small/cozy but it is not themed or anything like that. The regular food options for breakfast was also limited to two other things, neither one I wanted to try. Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory should only be a visit for Ghibli fans. And for fans, it is recommended to just get take-out. There is also a selection of omiyage that you only get to see if you are ordering take-out. Dining in is not really worth it here. For anyone else looking for good coffee or pastries, there are many other places to choose from in Tokyo.
James A — Google review
The cream puffs were very good and looked so cute. It's a small place so wait line is outside and very long. We had to wait in the rain. If you want to buy take away, can go in with no wait.

Otaguro Park, located in Suginami Ogikubo, is a serene and picturesque green space featuring cypress-planted landscapes, a traditional teahouse, memorial hall, and Japanese garden. This charming park offers nature lovers and families an opportunity to enjoy leisurely strolls along scenic walking paths, relax amidst the tranquil surroundings or have a family picnic. The park's educational aspect includes small signs with plant names and QR codes for more information.
I would say it is the best park for autumn leaves at night where you can take some very good photos with mirror effect and reflection of light.

I came to this park because it looked really nice, and it did have a bit of a crowd, but nothing overwhelming. Right now, the leaves are absolutely beautiful, and I would highly recommend visiting during this season. The colors were a mix of yellows, greens, reds, and some oranges, and it made the whole area feel really peaceful and lovely. There’s no cost to enter and no wait—you can just walk right in. The park itself is on the smaller side, but there are several other parks in the area as well if you want to explore more. This one, though, is a great little spot to relax and enjoy the autumn scenery. It’s easy to get to, and while there are more people around right now because it’s autumn, it still feels calm enough to just stroll through and enjoy. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re nearby.

We went there in December 2023, it is nestled in a residential area, not a big park but still looks amazing. You will see rows of ginkgo trees when you step in the gate. 6/29/2025 It’s a nice park with the historical residence inside the park. No admission fee needed to this park. Recommended to take pictures at the path of the entrance. There’s a pond in the park and you can feed the koi. Koi food is ¥100/bag and only 10 packs in the morning and in the afternoon each. Bathrooms are available inside the park. There’s a reception so you can ask them for brochures and guidance. It’s a very chill, comfortable park to be with lots of shade. Maybe staying here for 30 minutes would be enough, 1 hour max. The park itself is not that big to walk around. Only the front entrance is available. The back entrance always seems to be closed.

Igusa Hachimangu is a historic shrine located in Suginami Ward, characterized by a large vermilion torii gate. The main shrine, dating back to 1664, is the oldest wooden structure in the ward and is linked to Minamoto no Yoritomo. The shrine precincts also house a folklore museum displaying local cultural artifacts and treasures.
A respectful big shrine gate is remarkable in such a calm residential area (just by Oume street).

Largest of the local shrines. I decided to do my first shrine visit (初詣) here, and it is quite crowded around 13:00 on New Year's day. They're doing the crowd control thing with batches of people, like what I used to see when I did a couple of midnight visits at the big shrine of the Meiji Tenno (明治神宮). I think I've been here about 30 minutes, and now I'm about 2/3 of the way to the inner compound. I visited at least once in the last few years and remember having a very nice okonomiyaki as I left. Expecting to have another in a while. Someone already like the review, but I feel like I have to add an appendix. Didn't finish until about 1340, and the okonomiyaki didn't look as good as last time, so I didn't even try it this time. Soba type is different? Or maybe eggs have become too expensive?

(Translated by Google) It's quite large and you have to walk quite a bit within the grounds. Although it's quite far from the station, it would take a lot of money to be this large in this location. There are parking lots near the north and south torii gates. Unless you live nearby, it's best to come by car. It may be because of the time of year, but there are a lot of insects. There were quite a lot of ball beetles on the ground. There were also a lot of crows and their cries were loud, so I think it's not for everyone. Inokashira Benzaiten is a serene Shinto shrine located on a charming island within Inokashira Pond, surrounded by lush greenery. Dedicated to the goddess Benzaiten, it holds significance as the only female among Japan's seven lucky gods. The shrine's vibrant red architecture provides a striking contrast against the natural backdrop, offering picturesque views of the pond. According to urban legend, couples who ride boats in the pond may face separation due to the jealousy of the goddess.
I was surprised that a temple in the middle of the big city and the park. The temple is in red color and looks pretty stunning. This temple seems to be loved by people who live near here in Kichijoji. Good place to pray, relax, and meditate.
Jeon S — Google review
Tucked quietly into the trees like it’s hiding from emails, this shrine is the serene soul of Inokashira Park. We showed up on a Monday morning and had the whole place to ourselves—just us, the breeze, and the soft sound of water lapping against moss-covered stones. It felt like the world hit pause. We’re not religious. At all. But this little Shinto-Buddhist hybrid shrine didn’t ask for belief—it just offered peace. And some pretty remarkable views. You approach it over a red arched bridge, cross into a shaded glade, and suddenly it’s like you’re in a Studio Ghibli film… but without the talking raccoons or emotional breakdowns. The main shrine is a riot of red and blue, standing vivid against the surrounding greenery. It’s dedicated to Benzaiten, goddess of everything from music to wisdom to… financial luck. So basically a divine Swiss Army knife. She’s housed here in serious style, and flanked by stone foxes, mossy basins, and guardian statues in bright red bibs who honestly dress better than we do. The pond that surrounds the shrine gives it a floating-island vibe. Everything reflects. Everything slows down. Even the water seems to move politely. Notable highlight: the mossy purification fountain near the pond. It looked like something you’d unlock in a video game right before learning the meaning of life. This isn’t a checklist shrine. It’s not crowded, commercial, or trying to trend on TikTok. It’s just… beautiful. Quiet. Unbothered. If you’re lucky enough to find it empty like we did, linger. Take a breath. Be grateful Tokyo has places like this hiding in plain sight.
Jim R — Google review
Beautiful small temple on the side of the lake. When viewed from the opposite side of the lake, the reflections of the surrounding trees appear in the water magnificently.

We came through after visiting the Inokashira Zoo. The temple is small, but is lovingly maintained and is rather unique given how closely it abuts the pond. We kept our visit and walk around the pond brief, given the summer heat, but if you visit during a cool month I strongly recommend allotting some time to walk, pay your respects, and relax.

Benzaiten temple here is really cool with rich red contrast, the view of the pond from the temple is really treat to eyes. It is situated at the banks of the pond, no entry fee, the fountains in front of the temple is really cool and pays a good view
Beyond B — Google review
First of all, I must correct the above description. Inokashira Benzaiten is not a Buddhist temple. It is a Shinto shrine. Buddhism and Shintoism are two different religions. There is, however, a Buddhist temple on the low hill in front of the shrine. You'll find a stairway right there, but you will no longer be in Inokashira Park. This little red shine is my favorite in all of Tokyo. It is dedicated to the goddess Benzaiten, the only female of the seven lucky gods (Shichifukujin). She is associated with luck and wisdom. She has several alter egos but is best known for a snake. Legend also says she can be very jealous of couples and will, on occasion, flip their rowboats. I've actually seen this happen. Anyway, her shine is really beautiful and picturesque. Great shots can be taken from any angle. The shrine is situated on its own little island at the northwest corner of Inokashira Park pond. There is an arched short bridge leading to the shrine's entrance. The building is not big, easy to walk around. First, wash your hands with the provided cups, then step up to the incense burner to get some holy smoke on you. Next, step up to the front of the shrine, toss a coin in the box, and make a prayer to the Shinto gods. Walking around the shine, you'll see various stone statues (one of Benzaten as a snake), and a stone dragon fountain to wash your dirty money and bring it luck. Inokashira Park is one of the most beautiful in Tokyo, especially at cherry blossom time. While walking around the pond, you are sure to find the shrine. Put a visit here top on your list.

Heck yes, Suginami! I've seen a bunch of stuff here. At first I got pretty lost trying to find the large hall and ran around a bunch in the lower floors (smaller halls are down here). Luckily the staff and people were super nice and directed me to the upper floors where the large hall resides. If you enter the main (?) doors and pull a u-turn to your left you'll see a big staircase, so walk up that thing and you're pretty much there. Once inside the large hall check out the fun seats along the sides of the venue! I like sitting in these in the upper level, but it sounds great pretty much anywhere. BONUS: giant Christmas tree!

Medium size concert hall. The main hall is the biggest and it can probably accommodate about 300 people. They have studio in the basement for rent. The acoustic is ok, but don't expect professional grade equipment as this is a government owned public facility.

Café du Lièvre, also known as Bunny House, is a charming cafe located in Inokashira Park with a cozy and vintage ambiance. It offers a mix of French-style pancakes and Japanese curries, making it an ideal spot for visitors exploring the park or Ghibli Museum. The cafe's menu includes delightful options such as almond caramel crepes and Montana dry curry sets.
5 star in terms of overall charm and setting in this park! We were looking for coffee and a bite to eat and found this French ambience with wonderful crepes and cafe au lait. Background music to complete the setting!
Wayne A — Google review
I’ve been coming to this spot for the past 10 years, I liked that is located in the park, the food is fine and that is dog friendly. However I will not be coming here anymore. The past few times I visited the service was horrible, it is noticeable how rude the staff is. It is definitely not something about one particular staff but rather something present among all of them. I wonder if they have just become a racist establishment. It’s such a shame, specially from a staple spot from the park. Perhaps this will help the management into taking action.
ALBERTO L — Google review
Took our dog here for a relaxing late lunch but there was still a queue. We waited for about 15-20 minutes which was okay. Staff was friendly and welcoming. They very swiftly offered water to our dog. We ordered a simple sweet crepe with ice-cream, raspberry sauce and chocolate chips. The crepe had a nice rich taste of egg. The raspberry sauce was not too overpowering. The experience was pleasant and we will visit again.
Gladys H — Google review
The park is lovely, but this cafe is not worth it. Visiting here really ruined my day. If you love nature and fresh air, DO NOT choose this place. The air in this cafe became really bad when the kitchen started to cook and the air did not become better during my whole visit. And the place is so limited. Also, they required each person to order one dessert and one drink, but it’s very funny that they dare not putting this fact clearly on their menu. Staff were very hard to communicate, despite the fact that this cafe is actually targeting tourists. If you care about your experience, re-consider before you walk in.

In the middle of the park, there is this beautiful cafe and it is very cozy. I'm really feeling like Bunny House. Staff will be kind and nice. Only ordering coffee is ok. But here food looks good too.
Jeon S — Google review
Cozy little place with vintage furniture, decoration and style. Located in Inokashira Park, it’s a good choice for those visiting it or Ghibli Museum. I tried their Montana dry curry mini salad set for ¥1,000, consisting on rice covered a dry curry with meat and a fried egg, with a side salad. The taste was really good and it was interesting to try a dry curry, with no liquid sauce. After every customer left, the staff (wearing masks all the time) thoroughly cleaned the table and everything on it with hydro-alcohol as a caution for COVID-19. Staff was friendly, fast, kind and professional. You can pay with your credit card from ¥3,000.
Luis M — Google review
Located within Inokashira Park. It is more on the pricy side but the food is good. The menu is rather limited but you’ll be able to find something you’d like to eat, hopefully. You will be served with a teapot for brewing tea if you order hot tea, but the serving amounts to only one cup.
Bernadette G — Google review
Really good food. It does hide a little bit from view due to the trees from the park. Menu may seem a bit pricey, but definitely worth it for the taste. We got two types of curry and raspberry crepe with vanilla ice cream and they were all delicious! I would recommend the original curry as is thicker and better flavor compared with the black curry, but both are good nonetheless.

Mabashi Inari Shrine, nestled in Asagaya Minami, Suginami-ku, Tokyo, is a serene Shinto sanctuary adorned with vibrant red torii gates and intricately carved stone shrines. The shrine's tranquil surroundings are home to foxes and lush foliage. During the annual Hatsuuma Festival in February, visitors can witness a traditional rice-cake pounding ceremony accompanied by rhythmic songs.
Visiting Mabashi Inari Shrine was a truly special experience, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling streets of Tokyo. Unlike the more famous Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, Mabashi Inari felt more intimate and less crowded, which allowed for a deeper connection with its serene surroundings. The vibrant red torii gates that lead up to the shrine create a striking visual contrast against the lush greenery, offering a calming and spiritual atmosphere. The shrine itself is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto deity of rice, agriculture, and prosperity, and its peaceful grounds were perfect for reflection and quiet exploration. What stood out to me the most was how tucked away and tranquil the area felt, a beautiful place to take a moment to appreciate Japan’s spiritual culture. It was a great way to discover a lesser-known part of Tokyo’s rich heritage, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to explore beyond the typical tourist spots.
Rohit S — Google review
Beautiful! There was a festival then, so that was fun! And even a Kagurabanashi performance. I really love how the torii looks like it is inside a building.
Evelyn S — Google review
Very cool Inari Shrine in Tokyo. Many shrine gates and there is a shrine office here. Very well landscaped grounds.

Very beautiful Inari shrine and great atmosphere. First time I have ever seen a dragon on a tori gate. If you are near the area this shrine is a must see.
Jared S — Google review
Although it is located in a residential area, it is a quiet shrine surrounded by forests. The torii gate that wraps around Ryuga and the hand-washing area shaped like a forest and dragon are well worth a visit. Walking along the long approach, you will come to the main shrine protected by foxes, where U can offer your prayers.

Nestled along the bustling Kampachi-dori Ring Road #8, Starbucks Coffee - Roka-kōen offers a quintessential coffee experience that embodies the charm of this Seattle-based chain. With its inviting atmosphere, patrons can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating options, including a cozy second floor adorned with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The café is well-equipped for comfort, featuring plush sofas and ample seating arrangements perfect for relaxing or catching up on work with fast WiFi access.
Very busy Starbucks along side a main road with easy access. Offers both dine-in and drive-thru but be aware it can only be accessed going outbound from Shinjuku not inbound. Staff are pleasant and friendly and there’s a large amount of seats available, both outside and indoors including a second floor. Standard covid procedures in place, sanitiser on arrival, social distance in line, one empty table between you and the next person. They also have a small-medium sized amount of goods available for purchase along with seasonal drinks and deserts.

Slow as grass growing! Priority is given to drive-thru orders. Staff is completely disorganized. It shouldn't take 10 minutes for me to order at hot tea and have it ready. Too many questions asked. I order, for here... it's not that difficult. Only good thing about this Starschmucks is the outside seating for dogs. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time.

The menu features homemade dishes such as vegetable curry, keema curry, and coconut curry. Additionally, it offers rice omelettes, Neapolitan, cakes, and desserts made with carefully selected ingredients. Visitors can savor Japanese-style omelets and custard pudding while enjoying jazz music in the retro store.
Had to come back to this cafe. One of my favorites in the area. Such a cool atmosphere and very cozy. All deserts are handmade and the coffee selections are top quality. Check it out if you are in Koenji.

Nice decorations and appearance. I thought it would be relaxing inside, but it's stuffed full of loud groups, so the atmosphere is like an izakaya. Coffee and food were excellent but the coffee took thirty minutes to arrive at my table, and the food arrived another thirty minutes later. I think this place isn't prepared for its popularity. Note that most food items aren't available during afternoon off time ("tea time").

There were quite a numbers of negative comments about the attitude of the staffs, in particular the young female staff. I am sharing my own experience here just as a reference point. We might be lucky as there was only a young male staff other than the chef (owner?). The young staff were polite and friendly. He actually took initiative and asked us if we needed an English menu. He was the only person taking care of the services, cashier, brewing coffee, and cleaning, etc. I found him diligent. The chef/owner was busy cooking inside the counter thus interaction was limited. When we left, we said ごちそうしまでした and he greeted us back. I found him reasonably well-mannered. The food was awesome. Omelette Rice was cool, especially the omelette - silky and intensive taste of egg with just the right moisture. The curry had a lot of different spices and was thick. Coffee was also excellent as we ordered a French and an Italian roast. The ambience is old school style which is not uncommon in Japan. It has its own character and is a food and cozy joint to take a break.

Traditional Japanese cafe with a store front that stands out among the rest of the shops along the street. Drink and cake set for 900yen. Daily menu is hung up on the wall so you might have to squint your eyes to see the small handwriting. Coffee was good and the fruit cake (raisin pound cake) had raisins with a strong rum taste. Very tight space and tables are unstable. Personally I don't understand why is this place so popular.
Poh — Google review
This place is very well decorated & has a detective theme. It's absolutely worth a visit simply for their 221B coffee 10/10 (I'm not even a coffee drinker). Their unique burger is a bit like an onigiri, except with a tasty seasoning and bigger filling (chicken). They even had puzzles for you to solve (in japanese) which is really cool to add to the theme if your a fan. The atmosphere is really good with retro style music 🎶
Pramesh T — Google review
Coffee is nice but the staff is so so. Went there last week with mum (see photos) and wanted to take my husband there this afternoon. It was full which was fine but the staff just said a word ‘manseki’ in quite a rude manner as we walked in. I felt a bit shocked and will never go again. There are loads friendlier cafes with better price in Koenji to be honest

Once upon a time. My wife's friend is a jewelry designer living in Koenji, and she was just starting her career. We came here to discuss wedding ring designs. It's been 20 years since then, but every time I pass by here I remember that time. I haven't met my jewelry designer friend since then, but if she were still in Japan, maybe in Koenji, I would like to hold a meeting here to look back on the past 20 years. I don't know when we'll meet again, but I hope NANATSUMORI will continue to operate for a long time.

The museum features attractions like a Totoro welcoming guests at the entrance and an array of stores inside.
This was the station we used to get to the Ghibli museum. It’s easy to navigate and has a lot of food shops to get food from. The elevated platform at the south exit makes for a good place to hang out/meet up and just chill.

The Chūō–Sōbu Line begins in Mitaka’s gentle breeze, where parks outnumber offices and laughter echoes between quiet cafés. Inokashira’s trees lean toward the rails like friendly guardians. Artists sketch in notebooks, and parents hold small hands. The yellow line hums beneath clear skies, carrying Tokyo’s calmest mornings eastward. Tourist Tip: Walk 10 minutes to Inokashira Park for pond boating and blossoms. The Ghibli Museum nearby is magical but ticketed in advance. Great spot to feel suburban Tokyo’s peace before entering the city’s pulse.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, and you can feel the seasonal changes in nature, which is very soothing. However, since the grounds themselves are small, it can feel a little cramped when there are a lot of visitors. There are also few signboards around, so it may be difficult to find the place the first time you visit. There is a sign on the left side of this shrine that says ``Omizusho'' and points to a narrow passage. Is it okay if I go? As I continued forward, feeling uneasy, I came across the sacred water place. When you pump the water manually, the cool and pure sacred water comes out, which makes me feel a bit more refreshed and fun. 7 minutes walk from Tokyo Metro Shin-Koenji Station. I visited this sento more than one year ago with a friend it was already nice but it seems it has been renovated and it's super bright and new ! The staff was very nice, everything is clean. It feels really good to relax in the different baths. I tried the amazake one but couldn't smell it ... The products (shampoo, face soap, lotion etc) are really nice and convenient especially because this time we came at lunch time so it's tiring to carry all our products when we're not going home after the sento. Also I have lots of tattoo and it was ok for me (sento usually are ok). Thank you for this relaxing time 😊

Park
Inokashira Pond, located in Tokyo, is a serene spot to relax under the cherry blossoms during spring and admire the vibrant autumn foliage. The pond is the source of the Kanda River, which flows through Tokyo. Visitors can enjoy leisurely boat rides on swan boats and take in the picturesque surroundings. The area offers a peaceful atmosphere with benches for resting and nearby cafes for refreshments.
It was in February 2025. It is so beautiful pond with ducks in there. There is an entrance to Ghibli Studio/Museum. Lots of stores outside the parks. So do not worry if you are hungry or need sonething. You can enjoy the food in the park, too. Eventhough there is very limit trash bin, but the park is so clean. I bet it will be beautiful in Spring.

At the heart of this park lies Inokashira Pond, a wide, tree-fringed lake that manages to be both tranquil & kitschy at the same time. On one hand, you’ve got the reflective waters, ducks & shaded paths that make for a peaceful stroll. On the other, you’ve got dozens of giant swan-shaped pedal boats gliding around like escapees from a carnival ride. The pond dates back to the Edo period, when it supplied drinking water to the people of Tokyo (then Edo). Today it supplies entertainment: couples, families & tourists hopping into rowboats or swan boats, legs pumping furiously while they drift around in slow-motion circles. Here’s the kicker: there’s a local legend that says couples who ride the swan boats together are doomed to break up. Blame it on the jealous goddess Benzaiten, who has a shrine nearby. So if you’re trying to test your relationship, this is one way to accelerate the results. The water itself isn’t exactly pristine (algae blooms are common in summer) but the surrounding greenery makes up for it. On a sunny day, the pond reflects the sky beautifully & the whole area feels like a breather from Tokyo’s concrete and neon.

Inokashira Pond, located within walking distance from Kichijoji or Mitaka Station, is like an oasis in the city. On my recent visit, I enjoyed a peaceful stroll around the tranquil pond, watching ducks and turtles, which was incredibly calming. The highlight of my visit was riding a boat—seeing the surrounding trees from the center of the pond was absolutely stunning. During spring and autumn, the vibrant colors of nature make it a paradise for photography lovers. There are also cozy cafes nearby where you can relax and take your time enjoying the park. Inokashira Pond is the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature and recharge.

Absolutely stunning landscape, there's a zoo in the park as well with a nice collection of animals.

Lovely place to do anything, chill, drink, stroll, picnic. It does get crowded on weekends and you should absolutely avoid it during cherry blossoms season. Literally can't walk without stepping on someone looking at flowers for the billionth time.
A. M — Google review
Nice and beautiful park to spend a day in. Lot of activities. But this was a Cherry Blossom hunting trip and that a bit disappointed, not in the park, but in my planning. Sunny day with dying down wind, a beautiful day to spend with my love one. A stroll in the park, taking pictures, watching others posting in front of the few Cherry Blossom trees, sitting down relaxed by the lake, I am satisfied.
Law W — Google review
Clean and comfortable place to get fresh air and meditate. The place is peaceful and not noisy at all. Many trees and blooming flowers will make you feel better. There are many things to watch and nearby there are cafes too.

6 mins walk from Kichijōji station. No cherry blossom sighting for now (7 Mar 2024). Lovely place to rest and eat a sandwich. Playground for kids in sight. Paddle swan boats and boats available for rent. Cool street with thrift stores and eateries on the way to the park.

Super public bath
Utsukushi-no-yu, which translates to "beautiful hot water," is a large public bathhouse located in Suginami ward in Tokyo. Positioned as an "urban oasis," it offers various resort-style onsen features, including thermal pools, saunas, and aromatherapy treatments. The facility boasts numerous types of pools, both indoors and outdoors, with options such as jet pools and rock garden-surrounded rotemburo pool.
I'm visiting this onsen every week and I like it a lot. natural spring feels great and working hours are convenient, also stuff is very polite and doing a great job keeping place clean and pleasant
Ilya — Google review
I really like this onsen in many ways but as an immigrant in Japan, I feel hesitant to recommend it: My family and I are consistently observed, reprimanded, and abused without any justification by grumpy elderly regulars. It has happened at least four or five times now. It’s frustrating to leave a relaxing space feeling angry.
Duncan W — Google review
There are many negative reviews of this place which mention the elderly customers. There were a lot when I went, mid-afternoon on a Friday, but they weren’t bothering anyone or chatting, and didn’t pay any particular attention to me or my friend, who are both very visibly not Japanese. Maybe the ladies are more chatty? It was silent in the men’s baths! There are signs in English and Japanese about how to use the facility, so it’s simple and easy to enter. You need to pay an additional fee to rent a towel, and there are no hair brushes inside, which why I minused one star, but the baths themselves are excellent. I’ve been to quite a few onsen/sento, and the “Body bath” “Body jet” and “Dreamy bath” here are the strongest jets I’ve ever seen. They really feel like someone massaging you with quite some weight behind them. It was lovely! The outdoor baths are very nice too, with some greenery blocking the outside world and some shaded areas for sunny days like today. Be careful in the silky white bath! The uneven steps are hidden by the white colored water. All in all I think it’s a very nice place, nothing too fancy but certainly not shabby. The price is just right (980 for an adult) and I would certainly come back for those super strong jets!

It was the first time in onsen, the palace is very wonderful, peace and perfect. The statf are kind, helpful. I really recommended. If we will go to the Tokyo again, i'm sure, we Will go back again.

My home base onsen. Excellent indoor and outdoor baths, swimming pool, massage corner, gym and nice family restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. Warmly recommended.
Omri R — Google review
Small but pretty nice place, has 3 outdoor onsen and 2 indoor one with a cold, sauna both inside and outside. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and face wash are all included. Bring your own towel.
Wendy L — Google review
It is very reasonable for a hot spring in Japan, about $9.00 for 5 hours then $1.00 more after each hour after that. It has an Olympic size swimming pool, an outdoor Sauna, two kinds of mineral baths, outside, this includes a Japanese rock garden atmosphere with running mineral water flowing through big rocks like a small stream. It has an outdoor Pagoda like edifice built around one of the large pools of hot mineral water. At the back are tall trees with low hanging branches, Cherry trees, very beautiful at the begining of May and late April, there are benches you can sit on and take it all in ! Inside a Jacuzzi bath,. large Sauna, cold water pool and showers Large mineral rights bath. Fantastic utter Paradise, a hidden Paradise to behold, they also have a basement and I bar and restaurant.

This is our regular place when we need a soak. Not the best but by far not the worst in Tokyo. Very nice outside area with 3 different baths (1 changes by day). 2 saunas. Of course, clean and well maintained.

The Suginami Historical Museum, located near JR Koenji station, offers an interactive journey through the area's history from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum features a permanent exhibition room showcasing 30,000 years of Suginami's history and artifacts discovered in the peaceful surroundings by the Zenpukuji River. Visitors can explore exhibits such as a model Showa period apartment and a life-sized Japanese farm house to gain insight into different eras of life in Suginami.
The staff are friendly and helpful in explaining the things that are on display. The entrance is ¥100 for adults and free for junior high school and below.

Small, yet charming museum retelling the history of the Suginami ward from archeological evidence from the Jomon period to postwar intellectuals writings and lifestyle. Two very engaging exhibits are the model Showa period apartment and the real, life-sized Japanese farm house (kominka) in the yard - through the two of these you can really see how life used to look like in different times, yet in the same place. If you don’t read Japanese it’s best to have a Japanese speaker/reader with you or use any other means to understand some of the explanations. It’s a shame the museum does not make this fascinating history more accessible to non-Japanese visitors.

Small museum detailing the history of the Suginami area. Nice selection of old photographs, texts, art, models and mock-up housing. At 100 Yen its basically free entrance. I think it dates from the 1950s to 1960s. Photography was generally prohibited, but it was allowed in front of the sculptures of Minami Haruo and Ishihara Yujiro in front of the exhibition room. It's a great place for commemorative photos. There was also a corner where you could listen to pop songs, and some people listened intently. It's the perfect place for anyone interested in Showa-era pop music. Outside the museum there was a relocated old house. I sat on the tatami mats in the tatami room. In the heart of Tokyo's Odaiba district stands the iconic Unicorn Gundam Statue, a towering 20-meter tall tribute to the beloved Japanese manga and anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. This larger-than-life white statue comes alive at night with captivating lights and music, making it a must-see for fans and visitors alike. Situated outside the Divercity Tokyo Plaza Mall, this landmark has become an integral part of Odaiba's vibrant anime and manga culture.
The massive Gundam robot outside was super impressive, but our son was totally tired and asleep in his stroller so he didn't see it! Great for Gundam fans. It's better to go during sunset so you take good pics without it being too dark like my pics. We saw this on our way to Diver City Mall. We didn't see a light show or see it transform. It was too cold in February and takes too long in between transformations to wait. If you plan to go check to make sure it's working and what time it transforms so you can time your visit right.

The Epic 1:1 Unicorn Gundam: A Tokyo Must-See! If you find yourself in Tokyo, you absolutely cannot miss the opportunity to see the incredible Unicorn Gundam in person! Standing proudly just outside DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, this iconic mecha replica is built to an authentic 1:1 scale—exactly as you see it in the anime series! This is more than just a statue; it's a spectacle that will awe both die-hard Gundam fans and casual visitors. Make sure you get there around 7:00 PM to catch the mesmerizing transformation showcase. Watching the Gundam light up and shift its form at night is a truly epic and thrilling experience. For all the Gundam Lovers out there, this is, without a doubt, a must-visit destination in Tokyo. After snapping photos and enjoying the show, head straight inside the mall to the massive Gundam Base Shop to hunt for exclusive model kits and merchandise.

PROS ➕ Life-sized fictional character ➕ Iconic landmark CONS ➖ Lack of activities Date visited: 05/02/2024 There were once two statues—only one remains now. It draws many people to this place. I was one of them. I was surprised there were only a few Gundam-related activities nearby. Yes, there was a mall and a few food stands, but that was it. Most people just hung around, took pictures, or recorded TikTok videos in front of the statue. On the bright side, there were plenty of seats and shaded areas around the statue. Even with all the people idling, I could still find a good spot to sit down and have lunch. On a closer look, the statue is made with compassion and precision, as I can see all the intricate detail not unlike a GunPla. Apparently, there are lights on the body that turn on at night or special occasions. This statue is not as colorful as the other one. I'm disappointed with what this attraction has to offer. This is easily the biggest tourist trap I've ever encountered.
Thang — Google review
Absolutely amazing, the detail was insane!!! The pictures dont do it justice I promise you that, but definitely see it at night or at least when its dark, so much more atmospheric that way. Ive been a fan of gundam since I was small so this was an absolute dream to see in real life, loved it 🩵

One of the main attractions in Odaiba. <Transforming> ☀️ : Every day at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00 🌙 : Every 30 minutes from 19:00 to 21:30 When I visited, I actually had no idea about the tranforming.. I noticed people waiting with their phones in video mode and wondered what was going on—haha. I didn’t capture any photos or videos, but I did see the transformation with my own eyes. It looks impressive and fun even during the day, but I have to admit—the night view is definitely more spectacular. 🌙✨
기민주 — Google review
I think that the amount of stars given to Unicorn Gundam could depend on how into the anime you are. I'm not someone who is but found seeing the robot statue exciting. It was much bigger than I thought it would be. I also wasn't expecting for there to be such a big crowd. People from all around the world were there seeing it and I felt that this gave the area an exciting, vibrant and upbeat atmosphere. While I was there, the robot moved and put on a display which was enjoyable.
Map R — Google review
The statue is located right next to the Diver City shopping mall and it transforms at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The transformation consists of some parts moving and lighting up, along with Gundam Unicorn theme music and the hero (Banagher Links) speaking. Even my wife (who knows nothing about Gundam) got chills while attending. Next to the statue is a food court, the Gundam base (where you can buy some merchandising, even if the choice is limited) and you can also shop or go to the "Round 1" (where you can play arcade games, bowling, baseball, etc). A very good spot for an afternoon or even the whole day.
Frédéric G — Google review
I watch when it transform at 5 PM and when it do the projection mapping show at 7 PM which only last 5 minutes. It's looks great. I also bring my MG Unicorn for some photo and many other tourist seems interested with my Unicorn even those who were japanese. Maybe it will be a good way to introduce gunpla to non-builders if they also showcase Gunpla Unicorn from all grades inside an acrylic box near to the statue (SD, HG, RG, MG, PG, Mega Size Unicorn would be nice). I think many people like when they see smaller unicorn Gundam as comparison to the real thing

Imagine a park surrounded by trees - suddenly appearing in the middle of a residential area. • There is a pond in the middle of the park with carp & ducks swimming. It was adorable to see three ducks swimming in a line on the surface of the pond…. • The leaves of the trees reflecting on the water's surface were also picturesque. • Kids were playing ball in the park with their coach – not a parent in sight! Kudos. At the end of the pond, there was a waterside plaza modeled after a stream where children were playing in the water. It wasn't a very large park, but it felt like a place for locals to relax – and that I did with them.

The newish lawn area and rest pavilion is a brilliant addition, a huge step up from the dust bowl that area was before, it has made this a lovely complete park for its size. There’s now a splashing play stream, 2 x play sets, a ball sports field, a koi pond and the lawn. It’s really a very nice place to hangout now. There's a convenience store about 5 minutes walk away on Waseda dori.

Beautiful koi in the pond and the park offers a play area for children, a sports field, and lots of lovely areas to sit and take in the beauty of nature.

Loved it. Specially the newly built resting hall where you can read the books or have your snacks after your walk in the park. The construction is still going on. I hope they make it one of the best parks in Tokyo.
BPKodes K — Google review
Recently they built a clean office which is open for everyone and can be used for kind of working space. Along with the construction, the park was renovated as well. Now it’s more like modern park.
Richard S — Google review
It’s nice place for childrens, especially in summer time. There’s a little stream through the park and a pond with with fishes, ducks and turtles. Kids can have really good time.
Kris — Google review
For being in Tokyo it feels surprisingly spacious, and is nice and serene at night, a good stroll destination. Honestly though, I'll rate any park in Tokyo 5 stars just for existing at all...

Momoi Harappa Park, located near Ogikubo Hospital, is a city block-sized urban oasis with a 500-meter walking/running track surrounding a large grassy area. The park offers a family-friendly atmosphere and is popular for ball games and kite flying. It features tree-lined paths with benches for relaxation and serves as an ideal spot to enjoy outdoor activities in the midst of the bustling city. While it may get crowded on sunny days, visitors can bring their own entertainment items for added enjoyment.
A city block sized urban park close to Ogikubo Hospital. A 1/2 km walking/running track, marked at every 100 meters, surrounds an open grassy area where kids can fly kites and toss frizbees. The outside perimeter is tree lined with benches. A nice urban oasis in a busy city.

I went there for covid vaccination. A large park area in between the tall buildings ... Having all the basic amenities, seats to relax, joggers path, but nothing for kids. So bring your own entertainment items like ball, cards, food etmc. If you wanna spend time.
Umesh J — Google review
Family atmosphere with 500m gravel running track. I personally don't enjoy running on gravel. Quite crowded especially on sunny days. Watch out for little kids (and adults) who may not watch where they're going.
Dennis H — Google review
This local park is essentially a large grass field for the families in the area to enjoy. A true oasis and a great place for peoplewatching.

You can have picnic with kids and bring your doggies too here. But too crowded and too hot at summer time because not enough trees around...

Amanuma Hachiman Shrine is a charming little sanctuary nestled amidst the commotion of suburban Tokyo. Don't forget to obtain a seal at the shrine office, where they use exquisite golden ink! The amiable staff warmly welcome visitors and are available to address any inquiries pertaining to the shrine's history and customs. Adored by local residents, this serene hideaway is discreetly situated in the neighborhood, far from the bustling streets and vicinity surrounding Ogikubo Station.
A friendly staff always welcome visitors and answer any questions regarding history and custom of visiting shrines. Loved by local residence.

Such a beautiful little shrine, tucked away amongst the bustle of suburban Tokyo. Be sure to get a seal at the shrine office; they use lovely gold ink!

(Translated by Google) I visited the shrine on April 11, 2020. When I visited the shrine during the coronavirus pandemic, after I bowed twice and clapped twice, the doves started chirping, and I had a mystical experience as if I had received an oracle from Emperor Ojin's divine messenger. I heard that when my father, who passed away, was a child, he used to fish and play at the Hyōtan Pond on the grounds of Amanuma Hachiman Shrine at the time. Origin (from the information board of Amanuma Hachiman Shrine) Our company is the guardian of the former Amanuma Nakayato, and is said to have been a research institute during the Tensho era (1573-1593). The main deity enshrined here is the 15th Emperor Ojin (Hondabetsu no Mikoto), who was revered as the god of military fortune. The "New Musashi Fudoki Manuscript" states, "150 tsubo (150 tsubo) is removed from the land, and the guardians of this shrine are located here, head office, three shaku-foot-foot-side, two kens, three kens, south-facing, regular festival, September in the Inari 12 chomes, 12 chomes, and many more." In September 1907 (Meiji 40), Itsukushima Shrine (Ichikishima Hime no Mikoto, the enshrined deity city), which was the guardian of Ushimendo, was enshrined there. Since Ichikishima Hime-no-Mikoto was enshrined, he has been deeply worshiped as a god of water and a god of safe childbirth, and events to pray for rain have been passed down since ancient times. In April 1927, it became a village shrine. In the Edo period, Amanuma Village was the territory of Kojimachi Hie Shrine (originally Akasaka Hie Shrine), so Hie Shrine has been dedicated to this area as a shrine since ancient times, and in addition to Hie Shrine, there are Suga Shrine, Kanayamahiko Shrine (Goden), and Inari Shrine (Sanden). In addition to this, Kake City has been established as a shrine within the precincts, and our company has established a kumate-shi (good fortune kake-mori). We are awarding Fukumasu etc. The main hall was renovated in 1977, and the Kagura hall was renovated in 2004. In March 2022, we renovated Amanuma Benten Shrine (Ichikishima Hime no Mikoto, enshrined city), which is a shrine outside the precincts next to Amanuma Benten Pond Park.

It's said to have been founded during the Tensho era. As it's located in a residential area, the grounds are very quiet and kept immaculately swept. There are many subsidiary shrines and sub-shrines, and although the main hall has been rebuilt, it is stunning with its beautiful white-based color scheme. Even though it was during the day on a weekday, there were quite a few locals there to pray, and they even wrote the goshuin (temple seal) for you. On the day, I walked from Ogikubo Station to the shrine grounds. The spacious grounds were bustling with families visiting for Shichi-Go-San. Also, in the parking lot to the left of the main shrine, there was a well with a hand pump for emergencies. When I pressed it, cool water flowed out. 🚰 There were plenty of ginkgo nuts under the ginkgo tree, giving me a real autumn feeling. Renkō-ji is a small temple located in Tokyo, just a short walk from the station's exit 1. While it may not be listed inside the station, this temple holds significance for Indian visitors as it houses the remains of Nataji Subhas Chandra Bose. The temple is only open on certain days of the year, but even when closed, visitors can still pay their respects to Buddha through a statue on site.
A beautiful temple which holds the last remains of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. A great significance for Indians. Jai Hind.

My beloved leader of India, freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's ashes are kept here. It is a great honour to visit this temple.

This is so great of Japan where they have donated a statue with the Hindi and the Japanese inscription on it. If you are an Indian this will be your proud moment when you visit the temple, one among the greatest Freedom Fighters of India. The temple is very small so that you could find only the main temple, the statue and few more stone inscriptions.

This temple is of great importance to Indians. It has a statue of subhash Chandra Bose. Take Marunouchi line to Higashi Koenji station from Shinjuku and walk 200 meters to reach this temple. Temple is very well maintained. Visitors log is kept.

This place has a deep meaning for Indian patriots. Although there is no confirmation yet of the authenticity of the ashes kept here but the undeniable fact is this is a memorial samdhi of Netaji and such should hold reverence in the hearts of all Indians.

This is a small temple in Tokyo which keep the remaining of Nataji Subhas Chandra Bose. Please keep in mind that it opens only certain days in a year. Other times you can see just from outside. There is statue of Nataji Subhas Chandra Bose. Formar Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai visited this place. For indians its a place to feel the presence of the great Son of India.

There are two outdoor toilets and one inside the building. It's a place for dog walks in the morning and evening, and a play area for children during the day. At night, many people drive or walk around in their trucks. It's a lot of fun on snowy days. This park is located on the terrace on the north side of the Kanda River, on the edge of the Musashino Plateau, but it is a very open and pleasant park with trees surrounding the perimeter and a large lawn in the middle. I visited on 3/31/2025, and the cherry blossoms in the park were about 30-50% in bloom, so I think they will be at their best around this weekend (4/5).
