Market
Ota Market is a must-visit for early risers and food enthusiasts. It's the largest fish, fruit, and flower market in Japan, opening at 7 am. The market features a visitors center, fishery exhibit, and numerous restaurants offering fresh ingredients. On clear days, you can catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji from the rooftop section. Raised catwalks provide great views of auctions.
Good place for shopping and enjoying lunch.
U. X — Google review
One of the public markets in Tokyo. Visitors can also buy products and make use of restaurants in the market.
Y Y — Google review
Its an industrial wholesale market. While good for local business, if your a tourist there is no reason to visit.
Alpaul — Google review
It is a whole sale market but there are restaurants inside. If you are working there you can find good food.
Mohamed A — Google review
Don’t go, unless you are a huge hotel chain, or a global importer, looking for 50 tons of Chilean lemons, or 10 containers of watermelon. If you hope to find small competing stalls offering beautiful and perfectly sun-ripened $200 Japanese melons, or magnificent $100 grapes, this 20 acre industrial mega-campus of wholesalers is not for you.
Michel G — Google review
This whole sales market is not for general tourists. It's a busy market with lots of vehicles, large & small, running around quickly. If you do come here, take the overpass walkway from the front gate, & walk in thru the upper level where there is a brief description of this market in 4 languages. Then follow the sign written in Japanese, 見學者..., & see the market in operation from the top floor walkway. Don't come down to the ground level while you are inside of the market, except you are on the east wing where there are some restaurants/mom&pop shops located. If you walk on the ground floor, that will endanger yourself & the people who work here since you will be in the way of the small rushing cargo vehicles. The things to see would be the auction processes in the early morning, other than that what you will see will be some big warehouse with lots of vegetables/sea foods boxes on the floors with lots of small cargo vehicles running.
Tj H — Google review
Great place for low cost fish and meat purchases. Open every day. Although you need to be early while the fish stands close before noon.

Anamori Inari Shrine, a Shinto shrine dating back to the early 19th century, is known for its striking corridor of red torii gates and numerous stone fox statues. Originally built to protect villagers from natural disasters, the shrine offers worshippers sacred sand called Osuna, believed to fulfill various wishes such as success in business and safe travels. Situated near Haneda Airport, it was relocated due to airport expansion.
Anamori Inari Shrine is a stunning gem located in Ota City. I initially planned to visit during the day, but due to traffic and other commitments, I ended up going in the evening. And honestly, it was the best decision I could have made! In the evening, the shrine was completely quiet, with no one else around. I was able to take my time and fully appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the shrine without any distractions. As you can see from the pictures, there were no crowds, and I had the opportunity to admire the architecture and atmosphere in peace. If you're considering a visit, I highly recommend going in the evening for a truly serene experience!
De-Jie T — Google review
The shrine is located near Haneda Airport. The grounds are very clean and beautiful with many torii gates. When purchasing red seals, it is better to purchase three kinds of seals at once. If you do not purchase them together, you will not be able to get the third red seal.
Yuni — Google review
WoW! One of the coolest Shinto Shrines I’ve visited in the Tokyo area. Reminds me of Fushimi Inari in Kyoto. Super well kept and the red Tori gates were very nice. There is a small mountain up the stairs. Easy walk from the station.
Daniel S — Google review
Charming temple that is much larger than it seems at first. As we were staying at a hotel near the airport (we arrived VERY late the night before), I'd done a little scouting on Google Maps beforehand, and knew I wanted to see this place. The history of the temple is long, and not particularly relevant to your enjoyment of it, so I'll let others expand on that. I just wanted to visit because I like Babymetal, and there are tons of fox god idols here, so that was all the motivation I needed. There's nothing else like it in the immediate area: everything else is modern, either a business or a neighborhood, so Anamori Inari temple stands out as a result. It's an island of serenity floating in the sea of madness that is the greater Tokyo area, and absolutely worth a visit.
Jason C — Google review
A very nice little shrine with Toros just like Fushimi inari in Kyoto. If you take Keikyu line to Haneda and have plenty of time, then consider a stop here!
Martin G — Google review
Beautiful shrine that is small enough to walk with my children so they appreciated the culture and beauty. Suggest getting the pamphlet in storefront that explains every prayer spot. Also got in pretty early to avoid crowds.
Nicole M — Google review
A beautiful small shrine near Haneda airport that has a corridor of torii gates and many smaller shrines and gates for a fox deity from the area. The shrine is small and beautiful with a small vantage point for a lovely view. I emphasise small though and if you are al3wady planning to visit Kyoto, it may not be worth going out of your way to be here. During tourist seasons it will be unbearably busy. There is only space for a single file of people and they even have a luggage lock up location cos of the negative impact of people trying to rush the shrine on their way to the airport. Save this location for when you are in Japan off-peak or perhaps an evening. It is lovely but only when it is peaceful. And despite all this, if you have many shrines and the major shrines on your to-do list, it may not be time best spent to get here as there is not a wealth if other things to do for a relatively short trip to Japan.
Daryl S — Google review
If you’re looking for a unique experience like Kyoto’s famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, but in Tokyo, Anamori Inari Shrine is a must-visit. Located near Haneda Airport, this shrine once stood on the airport grounds before World War II. Back then, it was known for having an astonishing 47,000 torii gates — far more than Fushimi Inari’s estimated 10,000 gates today! The torii formed long tunnels stretching for kilometers, so dense that they created shade and even protected visitors from the rain. Today, while the shrine is much quieter, it retains its magical charm with rows of bright red torii gates. Locals believe that if you pray here in the morning, your wishes may come true by the evening. Once a bustling destination like Asakusa, the area used to be lively with inns, geisha houses, hot springs, and even clam-digging beaches. Even now, the number of torii gates keeps growing — almost as if multiplying like magic! Highlights: • Walk through vibrant red torii tunnels with a peaceful atmosphere • Perfect quick stop near Haneda Airport • Rich history as one of Tokyo’s former major attractions • A shrine so charming, you might become a lifelong fan after one visit! Come feel the powerful energy, make a wish, and maybe… see it come true before sunset.

Ōmori Furusato-no-Hamabe Park is a charming waterside park located in Tokyo, offering a re-creation of the Omori Kaigan from olden times. The park features a 400-meter white sand beach suitable for sunbathing and playing in the water. Families can enjoy gathering shellfish and crabs along the seashore, while also taking advantage of the playground equipment and natural spaces available.
A nice place for evening stroll! Many families come here for visit! This is an artificial beach good for family outings! You might find a calm spot if you find! good place for summer one day trip!
Sukruti K — Google review
Nice big park, open spaces, places for children to play, picnic blankets to be laid down, even some large ish trees to provide shade, sandy beach. Only downer is the view across the water is not particularly nice. Lots of sports fields nearby, other parks close as well. Surprisingly nice for the area you walk through to get there.
Paul S — Google review
One of my all time favorite places to enjoy the sun in Ota-ku. If I'm not walking or running along the Tama, you can find me soaking up the sun here. For a perfect weekday afternoon I recommend swinging by the nearby Lawson for a few snacks and maybe a crisp local microbrew on the beach. If you are there on the weekend then you should be able to take advantage of the cafe on-site.

The Omori Nori Museum is a place where visitors can delve into the history and production of nori, a staple in the Japanese diet. The museum offers hands-on classes for those interested in learning more about nori cultivation and processing. Additionally, nearby Mihara shotengai, once part of the old Tokaido highway, features various establishments selling nori and related products.
Free yet well-designed museum with a great view of Tokyo Bay from the rooftop! In the first floor, we’re welcomed with the video played on screen and the audio from nori-farmer mannequin plus his boat displayed in the center. The library also attracted my kid to read all-books-about-nori and play puzzles. In the second floor, we could see some real tools for growing nori in the sea and photo gallery about old Omori city as one of large nori producers in Japan. While visiting this museum, I recommend you spare one day to enjoy the playground, beach, sea, and greens around (esp in the spring time, it becomes sakura huge garden).

Tiny museum but full of information. Who knew how the nori leaves are made or that they were first invented there? Many hands(and feet) -on experiments for kids and grown ups.

(Translated by Google) Visited in early November 2025 I always pass by this place for work, but I rarely get to go. It's so close yet so far away. This time, I finally managed to find the time to visit. It's truly an amazing facility. It's also great that it's free. Even adults who are interested can enjoy it. If you want to see everything, you'll need 90 minutes. You can also see the changes in Haneda Airport's expansion through photos. The adjacent park is also nice. I envy those who live nearby. Very nice park to stroll around and see the autumn foliage! You can rent boats to enjoy the lake. Lots of wildlife photographers waiting around to take pictures of the different birds in the park.

The park is very good for taking a break from city life, very spacious, nice views, lots of animals such as birds, cats, dogs and koi fish in the lake.Adding a calming feel, I really like this park, there are even rides for boating, and the duck boat. Even the price is cheap. I highly recommend you guys to heal here.Oh yes, it's free to enter the park. This park is busy but not crowded, so it's very suitable for healing.

This is my favorite place ever. Being on the boat here looking at the birds is my favorite thing to do. So calm and it never gets too crowded here. So serene and beautiful little place. Tamagawa Sengen-jinja Shrine is a historic Shinto complex dating back to the 1100s, featuring pagodas and torii gates. It is dedicated to Konohanasakuyahimenomikoto, a deity associated with cherry blossoms and revered for promoting household harmony, safe childbirth, and safeguarding sea travel, fishery, agriculture, machinery, and fire prevention.
It’s beautiful shrine with a view of Musashikosugi skyline 🏙 & Mt. Fuji 🗻 Shinkansen tracks, Metro lines & Tamagawa river can be seen too. Surrounded in the peaceful neighborhood. Slope is not so inclined. Highly recommended to come here in the evening to catch a glimpse of night view. Parking facility available in the shrine!

This shrine is so beautiful. And when you enter at your left you will see a magnificent view over Kanagawa prefecture, more precisely what you see is Musashi Kosugi 🌉🌃🌆 And on clear days you can also admire Fuji san! 🤍
Laura L — Google review
The Tamagawa Sengen-jinja Shrine is a very beautiful and very ancient shrine dating from the 11th century. Everything you read here is true, including the warning that one might get pregnant from ringing the bell at the shrine. Pro-tip: Go there a bit before sunrise on a clear day, and bring your camera. The sun emerging from behind Mt. Fuji can be spectacular. Bring a jacket, it can get a bit chilly before the sun is up.
Bertel S — Google review
多摩川浅間神社 Tamagawa Sengen Jinja is situated on a hill by the Tamagawa River. The shrine enshrines the deity of Mt. Fuji, Sengen. The hill the temple is built on is considered a Fuji-zuka (a surrogate Mt. Fuji). The shrine is accessed by two flights of stairs. A pair of trees joined with a sacred tsuna are used for omikuji tying.
Tommy K — Google review
Sengen Shrine is a beautifully preserved, must-see landmark in the Tamagawa area. Overlooking the Maruko Bridge, you can see Mt. Fuji on clear days. The shrine itself offers a full range of ceremonial services for life events. In the summer you can enjoy the annual fireworks display from the concrete open space adjacent to the main grounds. #tamagawa
Steffen E — Google review
Tamagawa Sengen shrine is said to have been built eight hundred years ago. When Minamoto no Yoritomo went to battle, his wife, Masako, worried about him, went looking for him, but was forced to abandon her journey due to a wounded foot. She decided to get treatment close to Tamagawa river and visited Sengen Shrine to pray for eternal luck on the battlefield for her husband. She then built the statue of a bodhisattva called Fuji Sengen Daibosatsu Bodhisattva by the villagers and was long respected and worshiped. This became the origin of Tamagawa Sengen Shrine. Four hundred years later, in 1652, at the time of construction of the pass to Sengen Shrine, the Chinese copper statue of Daibosatsu Bodhisattva was excavated under the 9th station of Mt. Fuji. It was cleaned at the Tamagawa River and enshrined. Since then, the Tamagawa Sengen Shrine holds an annual ritual to celebrate it.

Haneda Airport is a waterfront airport that serves the Greater Tokyo Area and offers direct rail access to the city, as well as free WiFi. Travelers can take the Keikyu Limousine Bus to Yokohama Station and transfer to the Yokosuka Line or Shonan Shinjuku Line to reach Kamakura Station, which takes about an hour.
Flight was excellent, airport is massive but the process of getting off, going through customs and grabbing our luggage was phenomenal! So well organized. Be prepared to go through miles of transit to get places with very fast, paced people moving in a quick manner. Loved flying over the city before landing. Just amazing.
Thuha N — Google review
Many information desks and welcome Centers to make navigation easier, especially for tourists. Very helpful and courteous airport staff. It's connected to the railway stations on the lower floors and there are also restaurants and convenient stores. There are comfortable seats available around the airport as well as h charging stations. Many vending machines and claw machines.

📍 Haneda Airport 羽田空港 @ Japan 🇯🇵 Haneda Airport continues to impress me every time I travel through it. The entire airport is clean, modern, and very well-organised, making both arrival and departure smooth and stress-free. Many of the staff can speak English, and there are also Mandarin-speaking staff, which makes communication easy for international travellers. Everyone we met was polite, helpful, and attentive, always ready to guide passengers with clear instructions. The design and structure of the airport layout are thoughtfully planned — signage is clear, walkways are smooth, and the flow between immigration, baggage claim, and transport is very efficient. There are plenty of food options, convenience stores, and resting areas, making the airport comfortable even during longer waits. For travellers renting a car, the pickup process is straightforward with convenient access to major expressways. One improvement I would suggest is to bring in more last-minute shopping brands, especially for travellers who come for activities like hiking or sports. Having stores such as ABC-MART, outdoor gear shops, or basic hiking essentials would be very helpful and much appreciated by many travellers who need quick, last-minute purchases before heading out. Overall, Haneda Airport remains one of the best, most user-friendly airports in Asia — clean, efficient, easy to navigate, and supported by multilingual, friendly staff. A perfect airport experience from start to finish. ✈️🇯🇵✨

Tokyo Airport❤️💕👍 Tokyo Airport is one of the best airports I’ve ever travelled through. Everything runs with quiet efficiency. The staff are polite, patient, and always ready to guide you with a smile. Their professionalism sets a high standard. The airport is extremely clean. Floors, seating areas, washrooms, everything feels fresh and well-maintained. Security checks are respectful and quick, without any unnecessary hassle. Food options are amazing, from Japanese meals to international choices. The service is fast, hygienic, and the ambience feels calm even during busy hours. Shopping areas are well-arranged, and duty-free is worth exploring. Navigation is simple thanks to clear signboards. Whether you’re arriving or departing, the process moves smoothly. Transport options like trains, buses, and taxis are right outside, making travel super convenient. The overall design and atmosphere are peaceful, with big windows offering beautiful views of the runway. It’s the kind of airport where you actually enjoy waiting. Highly recommended for a comfortable, safe, and world-class travel experience.

Haneda Airport is the closer and more convenient gateway into Tokyo, and it served us beautifully on our Oct/Nov 2025 trip. It’s easy to navigate, brimming with shops and restaurants, and wonderfully straightforward when it comes to taxis and rideshares. Our one curious observation came on departure day: you’re dropped off at the departures level… only to immediately queue for one of three elevators just to reach the second floor JAL check-in counters for luggage drop and boarding passes. A bit of a bottleneck in an otherwise well-oiled operation. Beyond that quirk, every staff member we encountered was gracious, helpful, and polished. The main terminal is vibrant and pleasant, and the JAL First Class Lounge is a world unto itself - spacious, serene, and generously stocked with meals, snacks, and drinks that could make you forget you’re in an airport at all. If you’re flying out of Haneda, I’d give yourself a comfortable three hours. That leaves you enough time to glide through check-in, handle security, and still wander the shops or enjoy one last proper Japanese meal before boarding your plane.
Thomas R — Google review
Haneda Airport is very beautiful and incredibly well-organised. There are plenty of food options and even designated smoking areas, which made the wait super comfortable. They also have limited-edition Haneda Airport Pikachu Pokémon in a vending machine, which was such a cute surprise! The staff were so accommodating - I couldn’t find the convenience store (jet lag + brain fog had me thinking I was on level 1 when I was actually on level 3 😅), and an officer not only gave directions but even walked me all the way there to make sure I got there safely. Amazing service!
Felicity — Google review
Haneda Airport Terminal 1 is clean and easy to move through, with helpful staff and good services. It’s comfortable for travelers, but the facilities and shops in Terminal 2 are better and more modern. Still, T1 offers a smooth and pleasant airport experience.
ABU A — Google review
The first time I went here was the first time I traveled abroad and I was amazed by how amazing it was. The airport is built out on sea and is crazily massive, the employees are helpful and enthusiastic, as expected of Japan. And the cleanliness, modern, and attention to the vulnerable people, all combined to make this a world class Airport.

Buddhist temple
Ikegami Honmon-ji Temple is a revered Buddhist complex known as the head temple of Nichiren Shoshu and the site of Nichiren Shonin's passing. The temple houses significant cultural artifacts, including the iconic five-story pagoda and a wooden seated statue of Nichiren Shonin. Annually, the Okaeshiki Buddhist Service draws up to 300,000 visitors.
One of my favorite temple complexes in Japan. You can easily avoid the crowds and it's open 24 hours a day. Something very peaceful and contemplative wells up inside as you walk around. Many famous people buried here as well as Nichiren himself or at least the site where he was cremated. If you bring a lunch there is a nice park area behind the cemetery with benches.

A serene temple complex offering a peaceful retreat from Tokyo's bustling city life. The expansive grounds feature impressive structures, including a five story pagoda built in 1608, recognized as the oldest in Tokyo. You can explore various cultural properties and enjoy panoramic views from the hilltop location. During cherry blossom season, the temple becomes particularly picturesque, with the pagoda framed by delicate pink blooms. Easily accessible from nearby train stations, it's a worthwhile visit for those interested in Japanese history, architecture and tranquil surroundings. Enjoy 😎🙏🧘🧘‍♀️

A very good way to spend the morning. I stayed at Kamata and ChatGPT recommended me to visit. Absolutely the best decision I made. I love to get away from the crowd and Ikegami Hommon Temple and the surrounding area is so serene. The day I went happened to be Shichi-Go-San (753 festival) and it's so cute to see so many kids dressed up in the tradition clothes to pray at the temple.

Beautiful complex of temples in Ikegami. During our visit, the temples are very quiet and not crowded at all. We have the whole temples for ourselves to enjoy in a sunny day. The entrance has stairs divided into 6 stages, each stage has 16 steps. From the bottom of stairs and look up, it gives visitors an impression that up there, there is a separate world.

A beautiful temple to visit especially during the cherry blossom season. Go on a weekday and you won’t get crowded out like some of the more popular destinations. Take your time and wander. Lots of nice little spots to enjoy the lovely blossoms.

A very nice and quiet temple sitting atop of a hill. There's an amazing five-stored pagoda next to it and in general a lot of small buddhist temples around it.

Very quiet place, beautiful scenery and temples. I recommend it.

I shared photos of the surrounding of the temple. It was mostly local on 12 October as they have a festival on that day. I felt this temple is more worthy to be visited than the ones in Asakusa and Tokyo tower. Please have a long walk around here, so many exploration.

The sunrise over Tokyo Bay is breathtaking. The place is hard to visit for travelers with no car especially in early morning, but it is worth all the trouble. The nearest bus station is in walking distance, but the bus won't come until 8 am. I used Go app from Heiwajima station to this park, which costed about 3200 yen.

Windy, spacious, BBQ spot, camping site. All of it is true for this place. It’s beautiful, and you can have a nice nap in your tent. Near the airport so you can checkout plane every 10/15 minutes. Many photographers comes here to take photo of takeoff. The beach has quite the high tide. But within swimming level. The information desks are helpful, i had cut my finger during setting up tent. They gave medicine and bandaids with such care. Definitely worth to visit the place if u want to spend a nice evening, don’t forget to take the tent. It tends to get hot there

Saw super nice planes and they don’t let u swim but u can put your leg in the water but be careful cause there is jellyfish and a big field where u can see planes and u can see big planes every 15 to 25 mins

A good beach to spend time, watching non-stop flights landing at Haneda Airport. It’s a sandy beach with no swimming allowed but you can sit with your feet in water and enjoy the wastness of sea and view of airplanes and ships. There was enough vending machines and toilets. Parking for first hour is ¥300.

Day-use onsen
Public bath
Kamata Onsen, located in Ota City, Tokyo, is a historic public bathhouse that has been welcoming visitors since 1937. It boasts unique black mineral water known as kuroyu, which contains sodium bicarbonate and chloride. The facility offers various hot and cold pools, including a jet bath and an electric bath, along with a sauna for relaxation. Additionally, guests can enjoy karaoke and dining in the spacious hall on the second floor.
Complaints from fellow reviewers about Kamata Onsen being rundown aside, I found this to be a charming facility which shows “authentic Japan”. It is certainly not geared towards tourists, nor does it need to be. It opened in 1937, and feels like you are in a well worn but comfortable home with many memories. One bath has water so dark in color that you can’t see your hand when placed an inch below the surface. The second floor apparently has dining facilities and kareoke. One correction about the pricing. The basic fee is 470 yen, and soap and shampoo is provided for free. You can bring your own towel or buy one in the facility.

Had a wonderful experience in this onsen Reasonable price, kind staff and high quality water Purchased ticket using ticket machine There is no shampoo inside public bath Visitors can either purchase at front desk or carry their own Overall I want to visit again if I visit Tokyo again :)

Not too bad. Typical local bath, you won’t get the tourist treatment here, although the staff was nice. Lots of locals even on weekdays. 700-1000¥. It’s a bit older, but with coffee colored waters so black you can’t see past 5cm at temps of 44-46c, you’ll be sure to have a nice hot one. Sauna was adequate. Overall the spaces are gonna be smaller than your used to if your spoiled on tourist joints, but it truly does give you that locals only feel if that’s what your looking for.
Justin K — Google review
It's local and gritty so don't expect the level of attentiveness at higher end touristy venues. This is an authentic Japanese Onsen, complete with black water. The locals may look at you but just do as they do and enjoy the experience. The venue isn't big and there are only a couple of pools but it's cheap (approx ¥750). Tattoos aren't welcome and I assume it's not kiddy friendly.

Taku T — Google review
I’ve been to this onsen a couple of times while in Tokyo. It is not a tourist site but we found foreigners very welcome. The black baths were quite hot but the mineral salts in the water made your skin very soft. It is the color of cola. After a nice wash and soak, you can go upstairs to the cafe to relax, cool down and enjoy a snack or drink. We went on a Sunday afternoon, they were doing traditional enka karaoke. A bit complicated to walk from the station but easy to do with Google maps.

Near my hotel. Bring your own soap, towels are for rent and there is a sauna but I didn't use it. The onsen is old so it looks rugged, but I didn't mind at all. The staff is very kind and know little English I think, I spoke Japanese with them which went well. They have a coffee black bath which is interesting and the baths are quite hot. It was very relaxing and not expensive. The locals there were kind also, they do keep an eye on you to see if you're sticking to onsen rules and had complimented me on knowing them well. It is good for an hour or so just to clean up and relax a little. I liked that it was also open in the morning so I could go before heading to the airport. Just grab a bucket and stool, put your things in the bucket after washing when you head in the baths and wash again after.

Hasunuma Onsen is a neighborhood bathhouse that offers hot and cold spring water pools, as well as a sauna. The establishment now boasts beautiful stained glass and large-scale artworks depicting forests and waterfalls, creating a serene atmosphere for visitors. The interior design is reminiscent of Dogo Onsen in Ehime, with natural hot spring water that is 100% free-flowing and known for its skin-nourishing properties.
This is my first time visiting an onsen that wasn't attached to my hotel. When I tell you that this was my best experience yet, I mean it! Originally my fiancé and I had stopped by just to get information on the pricing, but due to us having mild Japanese language skills, we ended up buying the service and going in immediately. By the way, tattoos are allowed~! Staff: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their English is good enough to explain everything, as well as the signage being in English as well. Cost: I believe it was 1,300 yen per person (or maybe that was for both of us?) for access to the baths, sauna and rental towels, which is extremely cheap in my opinion! Services: here are three baths that vary in size and temperature. The biggest bath is the hottest, but not as hot as some I've been in previously. (This is a good thing because I was able to stay in much longer than usual without getting overheated.) The medium bath is carbonated and has a cooler temperature, but is still pretty warm. If you're not good with high heat, I recommend trying this bath first! The smallest bath is cold, which is great for when you're overheated. I saw some Japanese people use their bowls to take water out for a quick rinse, but I personally enjoyed using it as a cold plunge. There is also a sauna which costs more then the baths-only, but I highly recommend it. I enjoyed sweating in the dry heat after spending some time in the baths. The sauna room smells like a campfire (loved this) and has some sounds that were nice to listen to while I meditated. Overall: Definitely a hidden gem in the Kamata area, and one of the best onsen experiences I've had during any of my trips to Japan. If you're in the area and wondering if you should visit: DO IT! Your body will thank you!

Fantastic sento that allows foreigners with tattoos. Helpful staff with instructions in English. Very reasonably priced at about 500 yen with an extra 300 if you want to use the sauna room. Beautiful and tasteful interior with stained glass and painted walls. Clean changing room. Drinks sold in front. Can't say enough how much I enjoyed this little oasis. Saw many locals coming in for their nightly baths as well so you can see a slice of local life.

Went here on my 1st ever trip to japan. And there was nothing better to do after walking around tokyo all day then to go and sit in the baths here. Baths were the perfect temperature, and the whole place was just amazing. Super friendly staff.

This is a lovely space! The host was extremely nice to me as a foreigner in explaining how the bath house works. It’s community centered and encourages sharing in the directions (lacking in the states). It’s very clean and everyone respects the rules. I have tattoos and was able to enter here which is amazing too! Highly recommend to stop by if you’re looking for an Onsen to experience as a foreigner.
Maura H — Google review
This is a nice tattoo-friendly public bath. The mural showing a waterfall is beautiful. The lady at the reception was very friendly. They even gave me a small sento towel in exchange of filling a survey they had. Pheraps the only issue is that the space is rather small and the water is rather hot. This is a common problem I encounter in most sentos, so I still recommend people to give it a try. I have visited lots of sentos in the Tokyo-Yokohama area. Many have about three baths with very hot water that is hard to bear. For those that want a spacious bath with a variety of pools and temperatures and easy too use, I think that Tanmachi Yokujo, near Yokohama Station is the best tattoo-friendly sento I have found. Unlike this Hasunuma bath, it lacks the decorative murals, so for those wanting a more atmospheric experience I think Hasunuma is a great option.
H A — Google review
Very close from the station. It has been renovated recently so the facilities are extremely new. Apart from a sauna, it has three types of natural hot spring baths; cold water, carbonated water and the normal hot bathtub. The water temperature is just perfect! An extra star for the friendly staff!

Tokyo Tower, reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower, is a significant landmark in Tokyo and Japan. It was opened in 1958 and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2018. Standing at 333m tall, it offers observation areas at 150m and 250m high, providing stunning views of Mt. Fuji, Mt. Tsukuba, and the entire Tokyo metropolis.
Absolutely worth the extra ticket! The Sky Deck gives a breathtaking open-air view of Tokyo — you can feel the breeze and see the city lights. It’s especially beautiful around sunset or at night when the skyline glows. The staff are friendly and help keep the experience smooth and safe. You can see landmarks like Roppongi Hills, Rainbow Bridge, and even Mount Fuji on a clear day. It’s peaceful, romantic, and unforgettable — definitely one of the best viewpoints in Tokyo.

Tokyo Tower is an iconic and absolutely beautiful landmark! The views from the observation deck are stunning, offering a fantastic panorama of Tokyo. The atmosphere around the tower is lively, and the structure looks incredible both during the day and when it’s illuminated at night. There are great shops and food options nearby, making the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, a wonderful experience and a must-visit spot when you’re in Tokyo!

First attraction I visited during my trip to Tokyo. I went on a Saturday morning and did not experience much of a wait nor crowd. It was a great spot to start off the trip. Staff were very helpful navigating the tower. They also offered a complimentary drink, There were a good amount of shops and some food options. You can also manage to get good pictures of the tower as you walk along the streets.

One the must see when in Tokyo 🗼, the tower is best to visit at night. It lights up a bright orange color that is visible miles away. At the base entrance there's a crepe station that serves great ice cream and a variety of you guessed it crepes. Inside you have several shops that offer souvenirs from shirts, toys, keychains and everything else related to the tower but they also have several Tokyo related merch. There's a hello kitty section and lots of snack souvenirs from cookies to candy galore. To gain access to the top of the tower you need to get tickets at the main entrance. There's bathrooms available by the stairs incase you require them now you know where they're at. Overall it's a great place to visit while in Tokyo and there's also a small park right next to it if you dare to enter at night

Great place to go. We used Klook for the tickets. Stunning view. Not crowded, crowd control was excellent. Pay the little extra to go right to the top, you won't regret it. Mt Fuji was partially blocked by clouds but still enjoyed the view. Go just on sunset during the golden hour. You can see the city transform when the lights go on. I would do it again.

Really near experience in Tokyo. Lots of neat games and interactive things ro do in the amusement area of red tower and stunning views of the city from the observation deck. It was neat to learn about the towers history and construction as well as standing on the sky windows looking down! Highly recommend when visiting for a fun few hours while in Tokyo.
Hunter P — Google review
Amazing view! I visited on a Saturday night after dinner, walking from Roppongi Station and taking photos of the tower from several different angles. It’s beautifully lit up at night, and if there’s fog, it adds an extra layer of magic for those chasing the perfect shot. There was no queue late at night for the observation deck—perhaps because of the rain or simply the late hour. Around the area, you’ll find a few food trucks, a small Family Mart, and souvenir shops on the second floor. Take a stroll before buying anything, as there are plenty of interesting items to choose from. For photos, make sure to walk around the tower—each angle offers a unique perspective. Personally, I think nighttime is the best time to visit for stunning shots.

It features numerous structures and statues within its extensive grounds, including a five-story pagoda, an impressive gate, and a grand main hall. The temple hosts various festivals throughout the year and is especially vibrant during hatsumode, the first visit of the New Year.
Great experience. I was one of the only foreigners there at the time. Authentic. Great food stalls and a lovely happy atmosphere overall. Large crowds so you had to keep moving until you reached beyond the temple itself. Worth going to instead of the other larger better known temples in Tokyo.

I had a few hours waiting for my flight, so I got a taxi over to the temple. It was very busy, but well worth the trip. Beautiful scenery and exciting to see how Japanese respect their religion. We visited this temple right after strolling around the Nakamise Dori street next to this temple. The temple is beautiful, clean and calm. The location is pretty close to the Kawasaki Daishi station. Not only , but they also have beautiful pond, historical statue, and beautiful spots for taking picture. Pro tip: enter from the Nakamise Dori street and exit at the west gate as the exit gate is closer to the station.

This is a surprisingly large temple complex based around important historical figures of Buddhism in Japan. You can see several impressive historical buildings here, and you can read about them on pamphlets from the information centre, which are also available in English. There are also fortune slips and a place for burning the traditional bundles of incense sticks, which can be bought at a nearby stand. There were also some miscellaneous souvenirs available. If you want some traditional Japanese sweet, the shopping street that leads toward the main gate of the temple should satisfy your needs in this regard. The temple entrance is free, and the fortune slips and incense sticks both cost 100 yen, which is as cheap as these things get, so I am impressed by this aspect as well. Overall, I would absolutely recommend visiting this cultural gem for its magnificent architecture. It is also quite easy to reach from the centre of Tokyo, so it would be an easily available tourist attraction even for foreigners.

The have also information room that you can sit to take a break indoor. 2/22/2025 When I came, it was 60% of blooming but pretty. Unfortunately, I can’t stay longer to enjoy the lit up setting at night due to very cold day. 🥶🤣 But I suggest you to come around 3pm, to enjoy sunset as well and the lit up at night.

Small park usually popular for cherry blossom🌸 season. Entry is just 100¥ per adult. There is a nice tea house in the back but only those with reservations are allowed inside. During the off-season it is still a nice park and not busy at all. There are plenty of benches to rest and a public bathroom.

Located at the bottom of the hill of Ikegami Honmonji, this plum garden provides its visitor a spectacular view of the change of season as well as the city of Ōta, just 100 yen. The plum blooms just before sakura. Its blooming season lies within February to March, where the full bloom is at its peak around the end of Feb (in Tokyo). At this time, you can see the plum blossoming in multicolor (white/pink/red). There is also a traditional Japanese house inside the garden, where the vibe of the architecture itself along with the blooming trees gives you a serenity among this metropolitan.

As gardens go, Ikegami Gaien is not very big, but does one of the best jobs in displaying ume (plum) trees owing to its beautiful hill and to the well labelled variety of different plum trees. A bit of a walk from the station, but worth it if you love birds and nature! They have binocular rentals for those who don't have one, and multiple viewing huts along the park. I met quite a few of birds herons cormorants mallards and lots of tsubame flying about. I have been visiting bird watching or bird sanctuary around the Tokyo area. By far this is the most satisfying place. Of all the rest maybe depending on the timing of visit I didn’t get to meet variety of birds.

This is a lovely green oasis with bird blinds and a large nature centre, within a short walking distance of the Tokyo monorail. We went there from Haneda airport while waiting for a flight. It's free, well-tended, quiet, and if you have a telephoto lens, a great place for taking pictures.

Visited late morning/afternoon. Several excellent observation huts and blinds that make birdwatching and photography easy and comfortable. The huts felt significantly cooler inside which was a very nice reprieve from the heat. There is ambient industrial/city noise but I did not feel that it affected the experience. Ample opportunity for birding in silence. There are vending machines with drinks and snacks and the facilities were well maintained.

A lovely little park - great for tourists who forgot to pack their binoculars as it has free rental! There is a nice enclosed building with information about the local birds, and quiet places to sit and watch them.
Ali S — Google review
The place is nice and you can take a fresh breath out of busy Tokyo city.. But unfortunately I didn't see many birds.. I t is true that there are lots of birds but they are a bit far from the visitors accessible area.. So you need a pro cam to take photos or binoculars to see them properly.. The time I was visiting, one viewing spot was closed due to some repair. Haneda airport is near, so u can always see airplanes in the sky taking circles.. Lovely place.

The Ota City Tourist Information Center is more than just a typical tourist center. It serves as a hub for connecting visitors with the city and its people. The center offers information on local sightseeing spots and provides Japanese cultural experiences such as petit kimono dressing and origami classes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in traditional Japanese skills. Additionally, the center sells popular local souvenirs including sweets and handicrafts.
I visited the Ota City Tourist Information Centre while on my way to do some shopping, initially just looking for a stamp to add to my collection. However, the experience turned out to be so much more than I expected! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they told us about the free activities available at the centre. After finishing our shopping, we decided to return, planning just to try on kimonos. To our surprise, we ended up staying for an hour, enjoying activities like calligraphy, bookmark-making, and coaster-making! All the activities were completely free and genuinely good fun. The staff spoke excellent English, which made things easier, but even without that, their warm and approachable nature would have made the experience just as delightful. The location couldn’t be more convenient—right in the train station and next to shopping centres, making it an ideal stop during your day. I would strongly recommend visiting this place if you’re nearby. The combination of free activities, great location, and wonderful staff makes it a must-visit spot.

Such a sweet team, they helped me organize my travels which can be very confusing in Japan- even printed out sheets for me, and gave me a cute file to keep them in. They also have free activities so I'll definitely be back for those.

Tamagawadai Park is a hillside park located in Ota City, offering stunning views of the river and distant mountains. Spanning 6 hectares, this park features botanical gardens, including a water garden and hydrangea garden. Visitors can also explore walking paths and ancient tombs dating back to the 4th to 7th centuries. The park is renowned for its cherry blossoms in spring and colorful foliage in autumn.
This park seems just like a regular park when I passed by it, but it certainly has exceeded my expectations! I visited on June 25, 2024, and to my surprise, the hydrangeas were still looking good! Many of the hydrangeas were planted in a shady area, so I guess that’s why the flowers don’t wilt too quicky when most of hydrangeas in other areas have wilted. There are 3 main attractions to this park, they are 1) the aquatic botanical garden, 2) seasonal flower garden in the center, and 3) the hydrangea/ajisai garden itself. Facility-wise, this park has adequate seating area, a gazebo right in the middle of the hydrangea garden, and it’s disable-friendly because it has a disable-friendly entrance and toilet. It’s so calm in here and there weren’t many people visiting the park—most of them just passers-by who wants to go to/came from Tamagawa station. Aquatic park is cool with many water lilies and cute water inhabitants like shrimps. The seasonal flower garden is neat and depending the time of your visit, displays beautiful greenery/colorful flowers. The hydrangea garden itself is well-maintained and looking gorgeous. I guess I can call this a “hidden gem”, giving how empty the place was VS. the no-crowd. During sunset, you can enjoy the view at the mini obeservation deck, overlooking the city and the riverbed. It was a nice evening visit, and I will return next year a little earlier for the hydrangea. Some cons: - since it’s located right next to station, there will be noises from train every few minutes, especially on the hydrangea garden side. - during summer, especially in the evening, do expect some mosquitoes. please take mosquito repellent with you.

Tamagawadai Park is a peaceful, baby-friendly park with great shade and easy access! The many tall trees provide excellent shade, making it perfect for stroller walks or relaxing with your baby, even on warm days. It’s also just a short walk from the station, which is super convenient for parents with young children. A wonderful spot to unwind, enjoy nature, and spend quality time with your little one!

Thanks for internet I found this hidden gem very close to minato ku. This park is 3 minutes away from Tamakawa station and it is famous for Ajisai season which is June . The park is huge and good for a nature walk along with bird signing and flower viewing , more that you can see the sun shining at tamakawa river . I am defiantly coming back to see sun sets at river . Highly recommended.

This is a really nice and spacious park next to the river. You can get some really nice picturesque views of the trains as they cross the bridge and it's at the right spot where you can get a shot of the bend in the river (some construction pending). The paths are well kept so it's an easy walk. Overall, just a really lovely park.

The kids had a terrific time exploring Heiwa no Mori (Heiwanomori) park and playground located in Ota City, Tokyo, Japan. The playground consists of athletic challenges that are fun and designed to get children and adults active. There are three sections to the park, including an indoor swimming pool, baseball field and tennis courts. We stayed well over 7 hours at this wonderful park and surrounding areas, exploring, playing, and admiring plants. If you explore all 4 sections of parks and playgrounds nearby, you will also see a nice beach.

Very cool park with 40 obstacles--rope and log construction. Four are over water and have the high potential of getting you wet. You can skip them, if you'd like. Some were a little small for me (6 feet tall), and I was a little heavy (180 lbs) for a couple of the water obstacles, but everyone had fun from the 5 year-old to the 41 year-old.
Mike R — Google review
Inexpensive and fun. There's a vending machine up front to buy tix. We went on probably one of the most crowded days of the year during Golden Week, and it still wasn't too bad. Lines get long at at the obstacles involving water because it takes a while to complete them. Otherwise most lines are super short or non-existent. Highly recommend for active kids. Definitely try to go at least crowded times if you wanna really dig into the obstacles with your kids. If you can go on a weekday during school hours, I imagine you'll have the whole place to yourself. Super fun and great way to get out the energy!

Okoshi is a dining spot situated in Umeyashiki Shoutengai, offering a diverse range of family-style meals with a focus on souzai, or side dishes. It's perfect for those who crave balanced and healthy meals but are sometimes too lazy to cook. Visitors have praised the affordability, mentioning that they were able to purchase a full meal for two people at just 700 Yen.
(Translated by Google) There are always a lot of homemade side dishes lined up. Popular items may be sold out by the morning. The Unohana and Ganmodoki are apparently purchased from a ``delicious tofu shop'' and simmered at Okoshi, so the nostalgic taste makes you want to eat them again and again. The quail beans are mildly sweet, and the bamboo shoots and jellyfish have a spicy taste that goes well with the rice. Since you can buy by the gram, even a small number of people can buy a variety of products with confidence. Hamarikyu Gardens is a public park located on the site of a 17th-century Shogun villa, featuring an Edo-period style layout with a pond. Situated along the Sumida River, visitors can enjoy views of Tokyo Skytree from nearby Sumida Park and take a short walk or cruise to Hamarikyu Garden and Odaiba Island. This garden was meticulously designed over time by successive shoguns, drawing seawater from Tokyo Bay.
Great park, right next to the seawater. In fact the ponds inside are full with sea water drawn directly from the bay area. You can enjoy the piece and awesome trees and plans for a nice walk. Don’t miss it out if you enjoy a small escapes from the urban area, I will define it as a green paradise in the middle of sky skyscrapers. Plus you can find some pretty cool stamps on the entrance

What a splendid place to spend the afternoon! Strolling the grounds, exploring every nook and cranny. I spent a few hours here one spring afternoon after eating a great omakase lunch. This was the perfect place to burn off some extra calories, wandering the paths. It was an equally enjoyable place to enjoy a nice little siesta underneath one of the many trees that provide shade in this beautiful park. If you’re into green spaces, I highly recommend a visit! Can’t wait to come back 🤗

Beautiful traditional gardens that used to be the falcon hunting grounds of the Shogun. Compared to Shinjuku Gardens, Hamariku has more beautiful water features, including bridges and a tea shop over water. There's something to see in every season - plum blossoms in February, cherry blossoms in March, wisteria in April, as well as a season flower garden planted with rotating varieties year round. The garden also hosts seasonal and cultural celebrations. The garden tends to be quiet most days (certainly compared to Shinjuku Gardens). The open picnic areas are recommended for families with kids looking for a place to run around in the grass.

Beautiful gardens, one of my favourite places in Tokyo for sure! Very well kept and just gorgeous. It was a lovely day today and the gardens were very peaceful. Highly recommended. I payed 300 yen but the combo ticket saves you 50 yen if you wish to visit the Kyu Shiba Rikyu gardens as well (also worth a visit). Just lovely!

A pleasant, peaceful garden near the center of Tokyo. The entrance fee is cheap and there are toilets, enough space to sit outside and drinking water on site. A great place for relax combined with admiring nature and historic garden.
Radek B — Google review
Hamarikyū Gardens is one of Tokyo’s most historically layered landscapes, a former 17th-century coastal residence of the Tokugawa shōguns where an Edo-period garden, a rare saltwater tidal pond and the modern skyline of Shiodome coexist in a single, coherent space. Created as a seaside villa and hunting ground, the estate was designed around the shioiri-no-ike, the only remaining tidal pond in Tokyo that still rises and falls with the rhythms of Tokyo Bay. The surrounding fields once hosted falconry demonstrations for the shōgun’s court, while the garden itself was shaped by black pines that remain among the oldest in the city, including the 300-year-old Sanbyakunen-no-Matsu. During the Meiji era the property became part of the Imperial estate; heavily damaged in 1945, it was reopened to the public the following year. Today Hamarikyū still reflects classical aesthetics such as borrowed scenery, intentionally framing the glass towers of Shiodome as part of the garden’s composition. Visiting the garden feels like stepping briefly outside the pace of the city. Walking across the tidal pond’s long wooden bridge toward Nakajima-no-Ochaya, the teahouse on the water, you notice how the garden filters sound and light: the soft creak of wood, the wind in the pines, the reflections shifting on the surface. From the small hill Ochin’yama, the garden opens in layers — the Edo-period composition of water and pines, the quiet interior of the park itself, and behind it the vertical lines of Shiodome. The contrast is deliberate and gives the garden a clarity that is rare in central Tokyo. I arrived at Hamarikyū by river boat from Asakusa, which is an excellent option: the ticket is 1,180 yen and includes the garden entrance fee (300 yen), so the actual cost of the cruise is only 880 yen.
Anna K — Google review

The Haneda Airport Terminal 1 Observation Deck is a wooden viewing deck located at the domestic terminal of Haneda Airport. Fuji. This spot is perfect for watching flights departing and landing on the runway.
One of the best airport observation deck I've ever been to. Located at the top floor of the mall in terminal 1, it's free, clean and has seats/vending machines. There are two levels with wire fences. If you got tele-lens you can definitely shoot without the wires entering the view (images i post are either 50mm or 14-24mm).

Although I have arrived at Haneda Airport many times and yet this was my first visit to this observation deck. I have heard this was the place to have a great sunset photo with Fuji San in view. They were on the floor 6 and one observation deck at both sides. They were all facing west. I checked out both and felt that north one had a better view imho. Although I did check the time for sunset it turned out it was densely cloudy. In the end it was a great way to visit this busy JAL hub.

Quite a fun little excursion while waiting a few hours until my flight, I definitely wish this was more of a thing where I'm from in the U.S. Even on a hot summer day, you get an excellent view of the planes. People outside tend to be a mix of professional plane spotters, travelers and enthusiasts. There's vending machines outside as well and shade. There's even a higher observation point accessible via staircase if the first observation deck wasn't good enough! (lol)

teamLab Borderless: MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM is a popular and immersive museum featuring colorful, futuristic digital art installations that offer great photo opportunities. Since its opening in 2018, it has become the world's most visited museum dedicated to a single artist/group. The museum will be closing this year due to redevelopment of the building housing it, but not before hosting its last cherry blossom-themed exhibition.
This was a great experience! But be prepared to spend at least 2-3 hours inside exploring, taking it in, and appreciating the art. I also recommend going as early as possible. I bought tickets a bit late (aka 3 days before the day we were available) and only noon and after were available. I bought the 12-1230. I checked multiple times a day and it wasn’t until the night before that an 08-0830am slot opened up and I changed our reservation. We got there around 0820 and there were already some people inside. It was nice and open for ~30-45min and after that, people started pouring in. It was still nice but some rooms started to get crowded. If you want nice pictures, go at opening time. It was a fun experience walking around, discovering the rooms, and being mesmerized at the art. Some of the art changes after a few minutes so we revisited a few rooms. When we thought we were done, we discovered two more rooms. We spent around 3 hours in there. We only left because we got hungry. There were free lockers inside and umbrella locks. There were rules posted about not running. But in one of the large rooms where you can sit, relax, and watch the art, there were a few kids running around through the people sitting down and yelling. It kind of ruined the immersive experience of that room. The workers didn’t do anything to stop them. It’s less interactive than teamLab planets. But still equally a great experience in my opinion!

TeamLab Borderless Tokyo is an extraordinary digital art museum that immerses you in a continuous, borderless world of interactive artworks that flow seamlessly from room to room. The experience is like stepping into a living dream where lights, colors, and projections create a mesmerizing kaleidoscopic environment with no fixed path, making each visit unique. The museum is spacious and thoughtfully designed, allowing visitors to explore freely and get lost in the ever-changing, dynamic art that moves and reacts to your presence. Highlights include the interactive fish coloring activity that animates your drawings onto the walls, stunning rooms with beautifully synchronized audio-visual effects, and the peaceful yet vibrant atmosphere that inspires awe and joy. TeamLab Borderless is an absolute must-visit for art lovers and anyone seeking a magical, futuristic experience in Tokyo that goes beyond traditional art exhibitions. It combines innovation, creativity, and fun perfectly, making it a five-star attraction that will leave lasting memories and countless photo opportunities. Highly recommended for all ages and interests.
Peter Z — Google review
My fiancée and I spent a solid 1.5 - 2 hrs here (we booked a 9:30 am slot). You'll see reviewers online saying that you should allot at least 2 hours for this digital museum but I could see someone easily taking more time than that trying to be thorough with all the rooms and not missing anything. You can buy tickets online ahead of time but they also have a ticket desk sitting right at the museum entrance (just be wary that if you're buying same day tickets, a lot of slots might be sold out). There are also free lockers for folks to store their belongings before entering the museum which is super convenient. There are friendly staff littered throughout the museum managing the flow of traffic and capacity limits for certain exhibits. The museum itself is uniquely located on the basement level of the Azabudai Hills Mall. It did strike us as a high-end mall as all the shops seem quite bougie or luxurious. We even saw restaurants selling premium tempura and ramen lol. No exhibit is the same once you return to it which is the "cool" catch here and why it's called Borderless. Because the transport between "worlds" is borderless and instant. Several of the exhibits evoke a sense of more awe and wonder than others for sure. There are no designated routes outlined anywhere so you are encouraged to just wander back and forth between exhibits essentially. Very immersive experience and we had a lot of fun with photo ops and took our time!

Amazing experience! teamLab Borderless is such a cool and colorful digital art museum. Every room feels unique and immersive. It’s a lot of fun to explore any day of the week, but I definitely recommend going earlier in the day to avoid crowds. Also, make sure to buy your tickets in advance it saves time and guarantees entry. One thing to note: you can’t go into the tea room unless you purchase something first, which is a bit of a shame since I wish you could see what it looks like before deciding. Still, overall it’s a beautiful and inspiring experience absolutely worth visiting!

This was such an amazing and unique experience! My husband and 20 year old son loved it, as well! We went at 6 pm and it was not overly crowded. We ended up staying much longer than we anticipated because we had so much fun! Make sure to do the coloring of sea creatures and watch them come to life. Go to the tea house if you can!! It was so cool and totally worth it!
Laura H — Google review
It’s a very nice exhibit. I found some of the projections a bit redundant.. many similar patterns… not different enough. Some rooms were more interactive. For example, in one room, you could colour some fish and they would project it swimming on the wall. One of my favourite parts is the En Tea House. You need to pay for your tea and the ice cream first and then they seat you. The projections show flowers blooming inside the teacup. It’s really lovely. I had prepaid for the tea when I bought my ticket but they charged me again… It was all a bit confusing in the dark so I didn’t have time to protest. They didn’t scan anyone’s ticket to see who had paid already. In all, it was a good experience.
Evelyne N — Google review
An unforgettable, mind-blowing experience! teamLab Borderless in Tokyo is truly something out of this world. The moment you step inside, you lose all sense of where walls or boundaries exist — it’s like walking through a living dream of light, color, and sound. Every room flows into the next, and no two moments feel the same. The interactive art responds to your movement, the projections seem alive, and the atmosphere is pure magic. It’s easily the most immersive and breathtaking museum I’ve ever visited. You don’t just see the art — you become part of it. A must-visit in Tokyo, and honestly, one of the best experiences of my life!
Igor O — Google review
This is undeniably one of those touristy experiences, and mostly for foreigners. Is it fun? Yes, it is very fun. It is very pretty. Kids love it. The different rooms can be very beautiful (sometimes even movingly so). I did get lost a bit inside and there were some exhibits that made me a bit nauseated (lots of moving lights!). This museum is located near a really fun part of Tokyo, so it is possible to make it a part of a day exploring this region.

The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, located in Odaiba, Tokyo, is a futuristic museum that showcases Japan's fascination with technology and innovation. It offers hands-on exhibits and classes exploring the future of science and technology. Visitors can explore the Explore the Frontiers display, featuring a model of the International Space Station with autographs from famous astronauts. The museum also features humanoid robot demonstrations, dome theater documentaries, and interactive science experiments.
We were lucky to catch the Special Exhibit featuring the various Japanese space programs. Very informative and inspiring. Up next we visited the permanent exhibit featuring interactive robot exhibitions such as the Lovot, and a few rooms on quantum computing and aging. The illustrated books in the gift shop looked amazing, but since they were only available in Japanese, we couldn't purchase one. We ended up spending the whole day here, and highly recommend a long stop here if you're interested in science topics.

It is worth to go especially with your kids. The curiosity field is full of fun and the design is child friendly. Kids can play there or do handicraft using the recycled or different materials. Clear briefing to kids and parents. The exhibition is also stunning 🤩 I like the earth 🌍 in the museum showing the information of earthquake in the world. There are few sitting areas for people to rest or eat the lunch. You can bring your own bento 🍱 or go to the restaurant in museum.

Great spot in Tokyo for families. The museum is full of hands-on exhibits where kids can actually touch and try things, which makes it way more engaging than just looking at displays. My children loved the robots and the giant earth globe that changes in real time — they were fascinated. It’s educational but also fun, so adults enjoy it too. Easy to get to in Odaiba, and a good option if you want something indoors away from the heat or rain. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Tokyo with kids.

The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, known as Miraikan, is a must-visit destination for anyone fascinated by technology, science, and the future. Located in Odaiba, Tokyo, the museum offers an engaging blend of interactive exhibits, real scientific research, and thought-provoking displays that appeal to both adults and children. One of the highlights is ASIMO, Honda’s humanoid robot, which demonstrates advanced robotics and human-like motion with impressive precision. The Geo-Cosmos—a massive floating globe displaying real-time images of Earth—is absolutely mesmerizing and serves as the centerpiece of the museum. There are also fascinating sections dedicated to AI, space exploration, biotechnology, and climate science, each designed to make complex topics approachable and fun.

This place is like a giant science park where kids of all ages can experience the wonders of science. On the 3rd floor, you can interact with robots, consider what is real and what is not, and explore the science of humans aging. The fourth floor has a permanent section on humans in space, with a model of the Japanese module for the International Space Station there. The digital globe hanging from the top of the museum ceiling is a great visual for learning.

Highly recommended! Good to spend half a day over here already. The various robots and activities were interesting and engaging. Some activities you need to take a queue ticket in advance so you can enjoy. Especially enjoyed the dome theatre which is a new experience. There is a separate area at level 3 for toddlers.

We really enjoyed visiting the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba. My child had a fantastic time, especially playing with the VR exhibits he went through them three times! The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. The museum is spacious, well organized, and interactive, which makes it perfect for both kids and adults to explore and learn. It’s definitely a place I would recommend for a fun and educational outing..

If you visit Tokyo with your child or young relatives, please consider to go to this awesome museum. The price ticket can be bought at the ticket booth in front of the entrance and that is only available for the permanent exhibition that available at 3F and 5F floor. If you want to purchase for the special exhibition, the ticket booth is located inside the building. In the permanent exhibition, you can see many sciences and knowledges that has been made simpler and more interactive for the children (but the elders can also learn about that), such as quantums, what happen when people grow old, and the exploration of outer spaces. There is a dome for watch a movie. Prayer room is available here. There is also vending machine for softdrink, cafe for coffees, and a restaurant at the 7F floor. I love this place so much, that it offers many places to sit down and stretch your legs.

It's a nice place to relax before a flight, with outdoor space and ample room to spread out. The airport itself is very large, efficient, and not too busy, with world-class designer shops inside. Watching planes take off and land can be quite touching, making it an enjoyable experience for travelers.
Interesting observation deck on the roof of the airport terminal. If the weather is clear and great, you can even see the city in the background too. Great place for aviation geeks to spot planes! Visited in December 2024.

DECKS Tokyo Beach in Odaiba is a ship-themed shopping mall with nearly 100 shops and restaurants. It also houses indoor theme parks like Tokyo Joypolis, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo, Madame Tussauds Tokyo, and the Tokyo Trick Art Museum. The Seaside Deck offers stunning views of Tokyo Bay, including the Rainbow Bridge and the Odaiba Statue of Liberty.
Oh, what a fantastic mess of crazy this place is. A bit too crowded for my liking but otherwise great! There’s food, there’s shopping, there’s even like half of floor-worth of kids area for them to play in a you’re a parent and want a minute of as breather. There’s the LEGO discovery center, an area that looks like an olden shopping street, haunted house and Madame Tussauds, which was a bit smaller than I’d like it to be but it had Becky and Beckham too, so all people worth knowing with names starting with B. :)

Edo Kōji is a unique facility located in Haneda International Airport Terminal 3, Tokyo, Japan. It replicates an old Nihonbashi town with a period drama-style atmosphere, appealing to both overseas visitors and locals. The Edo alley on the fourth floor exudes an atmospheric charm with rows of lanterns. Although it's perfect for meals and time adjustment, some wish it were larger.
It is a good place to spend the time when you are too early for your flight. The airport observation platform is nearby. You can shop and finish all money in your IC card.

Keihinjima Tsubasa Park is a metropolitan park located on the man-made Keihin Island, offering a riverfront open space with views of airplanes taking off and landing at Haneda Airport. The park stretches along the eastern shore of the island and provides spots for BBQs, making it a wonderful place to enjoy an evening while watching flights take off. Visitors can also indulge in fishing while observing the airport activities across the water.
Wonderful place to enjoy some evening (the sun is setting in the other side so you can see it from here.). You can even do fishing while watching flights taking off. The other side of the water is Haneda airport. Free and 24/7 open public area. You can take breathtaking photos of flights and airport with a good camera. There are some stages so you can easily watch inside the airport.

Actually it is not famous that should be on the tour guide book. But this place is worth visiting for seeing the planes flying. To get here, I would recommend on using the buses to get here from JR Omori or Keikyu Heiwajima stations. Try to find the word of the bus that shows 京浜島 so you could make it there. You can take the monorail to Showajima station but you have to walk more than 23 minutes.

Haneda Shrine is located about a 25-minute walk from Kawasaki Daishi and offers a refreshing summer pilgrimage, even during the rainy season. The spacious precincts feature various halls and are easily accessible, with flat gravel paths. The shrine's syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism relates to Gozu Tenno and Susanoo no Mikoto, now primarily enshrining Susanoo no Mikoto. It has become known for distributing goshuin stamps in collaboration with JAL and ANA.
If your fan of planes our airlines and you want to visit some traditional shinto shrine, this is your place. Even though the shrine is not so big as others, they feel so mystical and relaxing. They have some special Ema with planes which makes an excellent souvenir for home. Also if you collect Goshiun (Temple Stamps) and you have any Goshuincho (Temple Stampbook) of ANA or JAL you can get a special goshuin for ¥500.

very famous shrine to pray the secure of the airplanes on the sky for everyone staff and guest, very far from station under the bridge
Yasu S — Google review
this shrine was established by a wealthy sailor and feudal lord of the local area called Yojiro Nakekata about 800 years ago. Haneda Shrine was supported by successive rulers over the generations, and was thought of as a place to go to pray to cure illnesses such as smallpox. Today it is a common destination of airline employees and executives who come to wish for the safety of their passengers and aircraft. The shrine is perhaps not an obvious destination, but it is one of the more well known historical landmarks in the area. If you have an hour or more to explore and don’t feel like staying in the airport take the Keikyu Line to Otori Station and follow the street signs to the shrine. It is about a 10 minute walk.

(Translated by Google) I think the ancient exhibits were good. I received a free document that says there are ancient tombs and ruins on high ground along the Tama River, so I would like to take a look at it while visiting. I also wanted to take a walk around the literary village. The map could be purchased for 100 yen. Also, the electronic appliances used in Showa life and the household goods from before that were on display, as were the items I used when I was little, which made me feel nostalgic. (Translated by Google) I arrived by car, and was grateful to be able to park there if I was just looking around, so I was able to take my time and enjoy the view. Ota Ward is home to a large number of Jomon ruins and burial mounds, even deep within the city, due to the rise and fall of sea levels caused by climate change. Before my house was rebuilt in Denenchofu Honmachi, I would dig up a magnificent shell mound in the garden and unearth many Jomon pottery fragments. Seeing it here really helped me understand why. I also learned for the first time that the schoolyard of my alma mater, Denenchofu High School, was once an archaeological site. Of course, I learned a lot about the changes that have taken place, from the Jomon period to the Yayoi period and up to the present day. Kamenokoyama Tomb is famous, but I realized there were actually quite a few burial mounds in various places. I was glad my house wasn't located above it, and strangely relieved. Of course, there was also a section on Magome Writers' Village, and many people were introduced, but we ran out of time. By the way, admission is free! Also, there were four pamphlets available called "Ota Ward Ruins Walking Path." I'll go and check them out when the weather is nice.

(Translated by Google) Although the building and facilities are old, this is a very good municipal museum. The permanent exhibition covers a wide range of topics, from archaeology to pre-modern agriculture and fishing, seaweed cultivation, the Rokugo Irrigation Canal, crafts, and rituals. The Showa-era history section uses numerous photographs and exhibits to clearly explain the history and culture unique to Ota Ward, including Haneda Airport, Kamata Studio, local factories, and Magome Writers' Village. In addition, the Kawase Hasui and Takahashi Shōtei Ukiyo-e (Shinhanga) Exhibition, running until October 2025, is arguably the most comprehensive free art collection in the Tokyo metropolitan area this year. It features many famous works, including Hasui's "Zōjō-ji Temple, Shiba (Twenty Views of Tokyo)." While admission to an art exhibition would typically cost around 1,000 yen these days, for some reason, it's free. There are also a wide selection of catalogs and materials for sale. There are four sets of eight Kawase Hasui postcards, each priced at 400 yen, or 50 yen per postcard. Although there are some items on loan, the museum's own collection is also substantial, which honestly surprised me. And it's free, to say the least. The permanent exhibition was also interesting. The exhibits outline Ota Ward's history from ancient times, as well as folk lifestyle and culture, but I got the impression that the emphasis was on the Rokugo Irrigation Canal and modern land development and industry, which personally made it a hit. The document for sale at the reception, "Ota Ward Urban and Street Heritage: Rokugo Irrigation Canal," is excellent, and provides a detailed map of the remains of the Rokugo Irrigation Canal. Nishi-Rokugō Park, affectionately known as Tire Park, is a unique urban park featuring play equipment and giant sculptures made from old tires. The park boasts two circular play areas with swings, slides, and climbing features suitable for both children and adults. One of the main attractions is a massive 8-meter-tall and 20-meter-long dinosaur sculpture made entirely from tires, which has gained popularity among kids.
This park is also known as the Tire Park, as most of the playground equipment has tire motifs. The park is filled with countless types of tires, from giant tires to small tires for scooters. The play equipment includes a tire swing, tire crossing, tire climbing, and tire spinning, a giant horizontal tire slide, a wide concrete slide, a tire dinosaur, a tire monster, a tire robot, a tire crocodile, a tire mountain, and a tire jungle. There is a gym, a tire bell-style play equipment, two regular swings (four in a row), a regular slide, and a sandbox. Many children are having fun in this really interesting park. This park doesn't have much shade and can get very hot in the summer, but there is a rest room and even a nursing area. There are multiple clocks and drinking fountains in the park, as well as toilets.

Aug 5, 2025 Quirky and fun random park! Lots of tire sculptures. Looks like a local interesting attraction spot as there were signs leading to it from Zoshiki station. I walked from Kamata station and it was 20 mins along the train tracks. Almost no shade at all including by the benches so very hot mid noon.

It's a creative way to recycle old tires. The ground is dirt and most of the sculptures are not for climbing, but there are swings, big slides, and climbing bars as well, so young kids will have fun. There are not many trees or shade available, and no water feature. It is right by the train tracks so kids who enjoy watching trains will also be entertained.

Very nice large park where the kids can go nuts. A very unique concept with the tire godzilla creature, not tp mention all of the playthings made with old tires. From a distance it might look a bit uninviting, but the kids love it.

It’s the best park in the world because it has a Godzilla made of tires. Everything in the park is made of tires, including the swings, a jungle gym, a robot and a rocket. Kids can have fun playing there, since it’s a good-sized open park with many activities. It has some benches and tables to have a picnic. It has a public toilet. Trains pass by close to the park. There are some convenience stores near. A 10-minute walk from the closest train stations.

Sights & Landmarks
Historic Walking Areas
Sakurazaka Park is a vibrant outdoor playground designed by Korean artist Choi Jeong-Hwa, featuring a robot theme that's sure to captivate young visitors. The 1,539-square-meter park boasts colorful tube slides, a tower constructed from 40 robots, spring bounce seats with robot designs, and a lengthy roller slide. Located in a residential area, the park tends to be bustling with kids in the afternoons.
We also call it robot park, due to the robot totem poles, robot decorations, and robot riding things. They have many types of slides there, ranging from the small short slides for toddlers, to the longer twirling slides to entertain the older kids. The most spectacular slide may have to be the rolling slide that spans the hill that the park is set upon. Its a great energy burner for wlkids that can walk, as they have to make the journey back up the hill to go on the slide again. Tip: there isn't a public bathroom nearby, so make sure to use one before going.
Jonathan C — Google review
Interesting small robot themed park for kids. A bunch of slides, along with a long roller slide which connects the top and bottom parts of the park. Not much play equipment beyond the slides and robot themed pole. Bubbler for water, and park was nicely shaded by trees on the slope, but few places to sit. No public toilets in park, however can be found nearby on outside of building immediately to your left when you cross over the foot bridge from the top of the park.
Brendan S — Google review
Too many mosquitoes. Like a lot. Just spent over half a year in South East Asia and to be honest this playground had more mosquitoes than all the mosquitoes I met while in SEA. And this is located in upscale Roppongi… The facilities are not something we should have walked so much for. Very small playground as a whole. Many slides as a main attraction. One of the slides is longer and made of small metal pipes - hard on the butt. Wouldn’t go out of my way to re-visit this place. No Japanese really either, all visitors were expats with their nannies and kids.
Lora O — Google review
Last year I participated in satisfaction survey here.. it seemed like something is about to change. But nothing changed for 20 years. Broken robots been not fixed for over a year. No place to sit for parents. No vending machine to get a drink for kids. No protection fence on slope near the slides. Minato ku is probably the richest, but obviously misusing the money. What was the survey for last year if NOTHING improved at all.
Olga B — Google review
Very small compared to what it looks like in pictures. Okay for 30 min fun for kids but there is nothing else in the surrounding until you walk towards roppongi hills or the station. I don’t recall seeing toilets in the park…
Jamil A — Google review
One of our favourite little playgrounds in Tokyo. Robot themed playground with an incredible variety of slides, ideal for all ages and preferences. There is a roller slider for small kids (just a warning as this gets quite fast when you go down) and a number of plastic slides for all ages. Good shade and clean floor surface. Access available for a variety of roads as the play is connect directly to the Roppongi Hills shopping centre and sits on multiple levels. A few negative points, it is quite small so it gets busy very fast and it attaches a lot of mosquitoes 🦟 all year around. Water fountain available.
Viviana S — Google review
Fun little robot themes park which is fun to combine with visit to Roppongi Hills. Nice easy roller slide for younger kids. Fun robot themed rockers. Decent shading.

Denenchofu Seseragi Park is a beautiful nature park located in the heart of Tokyo. It boasts lush foliage, ponds, and walking trails, making it a perfect retreat for nature lovers. The park features steep stairways that offer visitors a mini-hiking workout experience. Additionally, the park showcases a small waterfall adding to its natural charm and seasonal colors with blooming cherry blossoms in spring and Japanese maple leaves in autumn.
A spacious park full of trees, flat open spaces, and little ponds with ducks. There is a tennis court and a couple resting areas. The main park building has a small cafeteria space (currently closed due to covid) but the building itself is open so you can still access a proper bathroom. Half of the park is under construction but there is still plenty to do. Lots of stairs though, so not ideal for strollers and wheelchairs.

Rokugo Shrine, with a history dating back to the late Heian period, is located just a 10-minute walk from Keikyu Rokugodote Station. The simple yet clean and spacious grounds are accompanied by the cheerful voices of children from the neighboring kindergarten. Additionally, the shrine features beautiful trees and a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors often express hope for the revival of certain traditional practices at the shrine, such as cleansing rituals and festivals.

(Translated by Google) This is a historic shrine located beside the Tokaido road. I visited it because it is the site of Hachimanzuka Fort. I think this is because Kamata was a large city with a large population, but it also has a very impressive shrine grounds, shrine building, torii gate, etc. As people gathered along the old highway, shrines, temples, mansions of influential families, and castles are dotted along the way. (Translated by Google) The size of the grounds makes this shrine a major one in the area. While the number of children is gradually declining due to the declining birthrate, this area remains a consumer district, favoring families as a preferred residence. A long-established kindergarten (Gakuho) is located adjacent to the grounds, an elementary school is across the alley, and a library is adjacent. This abundance of children ensures a stable supply of children's mikoshi (portable shrines) and future parishioners, providing a significant source of income through offerings. As the shrine's name is "Rokugo," it's close to Rokugo-dote Station on the Keikyu Line. Exit the station, head east, pass under Daishi Bridge, and turn left at the first intersection with a traffic light. The shrine grounds are directly connected to the old Tokaido highway. A side approach leads west, toward the old Tokaido highway, and access to the grounds is possible from Route 15 (First Keihin). You can also take a local bus from the east exit of JR Kamata Station (although it takes longer). The bus stop is called "Rokugo Shrine," but it's located to the north, so it's a bit of a walk from there. If you're driving, you can approach the old Tokaido road from either the north or southbound intersection of the Rokugo Bridge on the First Keihin Highway. Head south and turn left east at the Rokugo Bank intersection. You'll arrive at the intersection from the main approach. Turn north and you'll arrive at the shrine, where you'll find the shrine's parking lot on the south side and within the grounds. The main shrine stands facing south with its back to the north. Entering through the torii gate, you'll find a subsidiary shrine and a branch shrine on the left, a gift shop on the right, and a kindergarten garden behind the main shrine. Amulets and talismans for prayers, including those from affiliated shrines, are available. Divided into three sections - Traffic Park, Haginaka Park Pool, and Garakuta Park - it offers a variety of activities for visitors. The park features a large playground for kids as well as spaces for elderly people to enjoy.
Such a lovely place! I just wanted to find a place to sit down to eat lunch and stumbled across this park! Found a bench and rested there and then continued walking around. I saw many people walking their dogs and kids enjoyed playing there as well. I definitely recommend it. :)

Neat park. Many play areas dedicated to certain ages and a special area with old trains and trucks. Even an old steam locomotive. All of them are open to explore. There's also a community center with restrooms. Lots of cherry blossom trees and birds, too. I'm surprised some sakura was already blooming!

After having our flight delayed by a day we decided to stay in the area near Haneda Airport and looked for an area where our kiddo could run and play around. Found this gem about a 15 min train ride away from Haneda station. Park is full of structures and amenities including old vehicles repurposed for play and discovery, jungle gyms and swings as well as a traffic area where kids could borrow bikes for free and learn how to ride on simulated traffic signals. Also some grassy hills and fields to run around. Really nice area with plenty of local children also playing. Picked up some snacks at a nearby Family Mart on the way to enjoy some food as well. Nice neighborhood and well worth the trek out of the airport for a few hours

Such a great park!! The traffic park with free-to-use bikes, pedal go karts, and tricycles open at 9am, along with the portion of the park with the old vehicles and trains. There is just SO MUCH to do. Swings, slides, walking paths, exercise equipment, climbing structures. The cicada were going crazy when we were there (August 2025) but that was so cool to experience, too. We spent like 3 hours here, easily. My child had a great time.

I lived at the next station Shimomaruko station. The big tree where the hearth is burned out survived the carpet bombing of WW2... This tree is revered and believe the city goodwill and prosperity has been enriched by survival. Some 200-300 years back a samurai battle ensued on Tamagawa river. Honorable fight is req'd, however townspeople snuck on the boats transporting the opposing clan and punched small hole in the boats. The boats took on water the arrows launched from Land ,the slaughter complete. As a result this town was accursed due to breaking samurai code. Generation later, sickness fire floods plagued the townspeople along the river... This tree was finally the event that turn the misfortune of this village.

The Ota Ward Ryushi Memorial Museum is a significant attraction where visitors can explore the artistic world. Notably, the renowned painter's studio welcomes public access, providing a unique opportunity to witness creativity firsthand. Although famed artists like F. Bacon didn't showcase their ateliers, the Ryuko Memorial Hall stands as a magnificent masterpiece that draws attention. Open to the public starting from 11:00 AM, this museum offers an enriching experience and promises meaningful moments.
Sweet staff. Everything is in Japanese so Google translate will be your friend and you will be here longer than you might think. The interviews of the artist and description of the artworks were immaculate and persuaded me enough to buy a book that they sold regarding some of the work in the museum along with further information on the artist. Sadly they don't have any selections in other languages, just Japanese, but at least I can translate on my own time and enjoy the images. You aren't allowed to take pictures or videos of the artwork but you can talk to the staff as they are more than likely to let you if it's for educational and advertising purposes. It doesn't hurt to ask them. The entrance fee is only a few hundred yen and it's nice to just look at the artwork in a quiet and calm environment.

(Translated by Google) This memorial museum is adjacent to the former home of Ryushi Kawabata, a master of Japanese painting, and exhibits works according to the current theme. In my opinion, he is the greatest Japanese painter born in the Meiji era who continued to be active after the war. When I visited, the exhibition was organized to commemorate the 140th anniversary of his birth, and I felt that there were many representative works from the collection on display. Unusually for the time being, almost all of the works can be viewed directly, not through glass, and when I visited, the three-dimensional gold brushwork on black and dark blue backgrounds came into view more clearly, which was very worthwhile. On the opposite side of the one-way road are his former home and studio, which were designated as nationally registered cultural properties along with the memorial museum in 2024, and both can be visited for about 30 minutes at set times. The studio requires advance reservations due to the number of people allowed in. According to the guide, the blue stones, bamboo, and stone pavement are particularly noteworthy. The blue stones visible through the water in the circle, triangle, and ▢-shaped water basin were colorful. The Jibutsu-do, where the standing Bishamonten statue from Ryushi's possession, now frequently exhibited at the Tokyo National Museum, was once enshrined, was also located in the old house and could be viewed from outside. The Jibutsu-do has a Sakura-kasane-zu sliding door (now an elaborate replica) by Tawaraya Sotatsu, which is a gorgeous yet very calm piece. As expected, the aesthetic sense of the master is reflected to the fullest in his home. When I checked after returning home, I was sure I had seen the real thing at an exhibition called the Dairinpa Exhibition nearly 20 years ago, but I had no memory of it at all. The admission fee is only 200 yen for adults. This price is so cheap that I think it should be at least 500 yen for local residents. I bought a few clear files and postcards after the tour, hoping to add a little to my savings. The images of the works were taken by the poster using his smartphone. Photography was permitted.

(Translated by Google) I found out about this museum on the web and decided to visit. I had never heard of artist Ryushi Kawabata before, but after reading the explanation and looking at his paintings, I was impressed by the impressive scale and sensibility of the works. His large works are great, but I was particularly impressed by his painting of a kappa, his painting of his house burned down in an air raid, and his painting of the hedges at his villa. I also really liked his sketches from his trip to China. The house he designed and rebuilt is opposite the museum, and the museum staff guides him around three times a day, but unfortunately I couldn't see it because the schedule didn't work out. It seems that the exhibits change from time to time, so I'll probably go again. Senzoku Pond, also known as Senzokuike, is a serene and spiritual spot located in the Tokyo suburbs. It holds historical significance as it was where Buddhist priest Nichiren Shonin washed his feet en route to Ikegami Honmonji Temple. The pond's name, Senzoku, translates to 'foot washing' in reference to this tradition. Fed by underground springs, the pond boasts lush greenery and is considered a spiritual power spot.

I took public transportation because many people had complained about the parking, but even so, the accessibility was terrible. It was a 15-20-minute bus ride from JR Omori Station, and once I arrived at the nearest bus stop, I had to walk another 10 minutes. Even if I wanted to kill time between games, there was only one convenience store, right in front of me but a bit of a challenge to get to. On the way back, I tried walking to the station, but it would take most people over 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. It's not about access, but apparently a few years ago they forced a complete ban on smoking on the premises, and only the smoking area fence remains, still wrapped in police tape. Naturally, a few ignorant adults were pacing around there. (-。-)y-゜゜゜ Even with poor access from the station and such a large site, they didn't even build a proper parking lot. Seiseki Kamata Umeyashiki Park is located between Keikyu Kamata Station and Umeyashiki Station on the Keikyu Main Line, sandwiched between the Keikyu Main Line viaduct and National Route 15, and is compact and beautifully maintained.According to the Ota Ward website, It all began in the Edo period, when hundreds of plum trees and flowering trees were planted on the 3,000 tsubo site of a medicine shop selling Wachūsan (regular medicine on the way), creating a rest tea house for the Tokaido.''At that time, it was a popular spot for plum blossoms. I was surprised to learn that it was also Emperor Meiji's favorite place. Although the red plum blossoms seemed a little past their best time to be seen, I had fun viewing the white plum blossoms and the red plum blossoms. It's also great to be able to take pictures of plum blossoms with the train running on the viaduct in the background! There was also a public restroom next to the park entrance, which was helpful. Recently, plum groves for harvesting have been destroyed, and compared to cherry blossoms for ornamental (tourism) purposes, they are not as good as cherry blossoms, and while there are other famous spots that are facing deforestation, this one seems to have managed to survive. Inside the park, there is a pond reminiscent of the past, as well as signs and inscriptions explaining the origin. (Translated by Google) This is the ruins of the mansion from which the name Umeyashiki comes from, about a 5-minute walk from Umeyashiki Station on the Keikyu Line. It seems like the first generation of medicine sellers used the income they earned from selling drugs during the Edo period to renovate the store site into what we would now call a hotel or cafe. Looking at its origins, Tokugawa Ieyoshi, before he became a shogun, used it as a resting place for falconry, and it seems that even people of no particular social status were welcome to visit during the Edo period. In any case, the Tokugawa Shogun family used various places as falconry grounds. Tokugawa Yoshimune used Shinkoiwa and Ekoda as hunting grounds, and the three Gosanke families used Mitaka as their hunting grounds. Later, during the Meiji period, the Emperor also became fond of the shrine, and it is said that he visited the shrine nine times. When I visited, perhaps it was a bit out of season, but the trees including plums and wisteria had green leaves, and the irises had lost their flowers and the long, thin leaves typical of monocotyledonous plants were just emerging. The pine trees are elegant and nice, but it seems like this park has been shrunk due to the expansion of Keihin Daiichi, and the Keikyu train runs right up to the edge, so I wonder if it's being eaten away by various means of transportation... I couldn't picture the past, and I thought it would have been nice to have a plaque to remind us of the original size and what kind of mansion it was. Also, the pond in the center is probably not a Karesansui type of garden, but the bottom is damp, so I think it was originally filled with water, but I think the fact that there is no running water in this heat is lacking in the park's appeal. Perhaps because of this, there were only elderly people in the park. People with dogs were having fun chatting with each other. Maybe it's not really a place for kids... It's a quaint place. There are many birds, including pigeons and sparrows, and I think it's a gorgeous place depending on the season you visit, but I think it's a bit of a shame. The days when it was only open to nobles and dignitaries, like the days when Emperor Meiji was favored and Kido Takayoshi and Ito Hirobumi visited, are over, and now anyone can visit, so I thought it would be a good idea to emphasize the Edo period when people visited without discrimination. [Origin of Umeyashiki] Umeyashiki is said to have its origins in the 3,000 tsubo (3,000 tsubo) site where Chuzaemon Yamamoto opened a Wachusan medicine shop (regular roadside medicine), and his son Hisasaburo planted 100 plum trees and other flowers such as katsubata during the Bunsei era (1818-1829), and opened a Tokaido teahouse. At that time, the mansion was used by the future 12th Shogun Ieyoshi Tokugawa as a resting place for his falconry, and its elegant atmosphere attracted many literary figures, vacationers, and Tokaido travelers, and it was especially crowded during the plum blossom season. [Emperor Meiji and Umeyashiki] The Emperor visited Umeyashiki nine times between 1868 and 1897. It is said that the Emperor particularly liked the scenery of the plum mansion, and that on March 6, 1873, when he was viewing the plum blossoms, he personally planted a small plum tree, which became known as Senshobai and was later loved by the people. Later, in 1933, it was designated as a historical monument, donated to the city of Tokyo in 1938, and then transferred to Ota Ward in 1953, where it remains today.

Excellent museum commemorating the crash of JA123 available by appointment only. No photos allowed inside but excellent summary of the accident causes and human impact of it, including actual hardware and debris from the crash. A sobering and moving exhibit.

We visited this centre on a weekday morning for the JAL Sky museum tour. This area has a series of classrooms with labels "aviation school" and there are interactive videos in the museum on the steps the pilot and attendants take to ensure a safe and comfortable flight for all. Almost all the displays and information boards have English and Japanese text. I liked how very clean and organized it is here, with staff around to help guide us. It's family friendly, and provides activities for kids too! Do reserve a spot for the museum tour if you want a chance to visit here, and the maintenance centre.

This is a very impressive immersion on how things are addressed from a technical issue to become value n#1 at Japan Airlines.

(Translated by Google) There are two stations, ``Maintenance Station'' and ``New Maintenance Station'', so be careful about which station you get off at. I got off at the maintenance station by mistake and got back on the monorail. The correct station to get off at is the new maintenance yard. Safety awareness center for the crash of Japan Airlines Flight 123 that occurred in 1985. Although reservations are required, you can tour the aircraft involved in the accident, its seats, belongings, and letters from the bereaved families. A Nikko employee will guide you for 90 minutes. It is a place where you can feel close to the aviation accidents that we must never forget. Although it makes me feel sad, I'm glad I visited. thank you very much. It is a 1-2 minute walk from Shinseibijo Station. While the scale may vary, even in fatal car accidents, there are bereaved families of the victims, so we should remember to act safely and apply this to our own situations, never getting into an accident, regardless of its size. (Translated by Google) Today, I toured the Japan Airlines Safety Awareness Center. I think it would be much more accurate if you researched this facility rather than me explaining it to you, but the point is that it is a facility that ``displays'' past airline accidents in which Japan Airlines was involved, from a perspective that only those involved can do, in order to prevent them from being forgotten. As you may know, in 1985, Japan Airlines suffered the worst accident in aviation history. The pressure bulkhead of JA8119, the plane involved in this accident, that had fallen apart, a portion of the vertical stabilizer that remained unbroken, the seats that were crumpled and crumpled by the impact of the crash, the passengers' wristwatches that had stopped recording the time of the crash, and many other artifacts were displayed as objective facts and history without becoming sentimental. In a sense, it's so objective that I'm speechless, or rather... The tour takes about an hour and a half, with a Japan Airlines employee providing commentary and guidance. The person who guided us that day was an employee who had been active at the site since the time of the Haneda crash in 1982. Nowadays, only 1% of the employees know about the Flight 123 accident, and the stories these few employees told about the scene at the time of the accident and their thoughts on safety were powerful and heartbreaking. In particular, there were many seat cancellations on the day of Flight 123, and after guiding many passengers on the waiting list to the departure counter at Haneda Airport at the time, he recalled how distressed he felt when he heard of the accident. I felt indescribable. At the end of the tour, we had about 10 minutes of free time to look around the exhibits, but what I kept looking at was the display of suicide notes that the passengers desperately admitted in their despair before the crash. I had some knowledge, but when I actually saw the actual thing on display, I naturally joined hands... It's such a heavy facility, and it's not one that you can casually visit, but if you're interested, please do.

(Translated by Google) This is a Japan Airlines training facility built to remember the crash of Japan Airlines Flight 123 and to pass on the lessons learned to future generations. The third floor of the building houses lectures on tours of the aircraft maintenance factory and facilities for learning about JAL's history, where many people, including children, are having a lively and fun time. In contrast, the fifth floor is filled with a somber atmosphere, reflecting the enormity of the tragedy of the accident. In fact, my wife became ill during the hour and a half guided tour led by staff, and had to rest in a separate room for the second half. This tragic accident happened when I was in elementary school, and it really brings back the shock I felt at the time. Seeing the actual remains of the aircraft and the passenger seats, bent and unrecognizable, conveys the intensity of the impact the passengers suffered during the crash, and it's terrifying. It was summer vacation, and many children and babies were involved in accidents and died, which is really painful and heartbreaking. I think it's best for people who come here to be prepared for the psychological burden it will place on them.
