Park
Churchill Gardens is a spacious public park in Salisbury, perfect for families with children of all ages. While it may not boast the same level of floral beauty as other gardens in the area, it offers vast green areas for various activities such as picnics, ball games, and sunbathing during the summer. The park features a tarmacked path approximately one mile long that runs alongside stretches of the River Avon, play parks, and a popular skate park.
Pretty awesome park and something for everyone, great views of the Eel House and even better coffee from Kiwi Coffee!

A nice riverside park to walk, sit and have a picnic. Parking can be tricky to get into due to awful Salisbury traffic, but, if you get a space it's free for 2 hours.
Rebecca S — Google review
Nice park, with coffee horse box and bistro tables and chairs. Skate park and kids play area and ample parking.
Paul B — Google review
Had a fun visit with grandson even though many parts were still under flood water. There is a small zip line , climbing frames. Free standing cross trainer and leg extensions apparatus. There is a skate park also. There are some lovely old specimen willow trees along the edges and the sun was shining for a changem
Dolores S — Google review
Good circular riverside walk complete with skatepark, parkour, basketball/football court and play parks. Small hot drink and food trailer with toilets nearby. Car park is free, not suitable for large vehicles due to restrictions.

Beautiful park, skate park for bikers skate boards and scooters. Play park both ends of the park. Coffee hut there most of the time.

Looks like a lovely park. I went to see the production of The Tempest which was held in various places in the park. It's a very getaway place with lots of mature trees. Quite a place and very close the Salisbury city centre.
Denis P — Google review
It was nice to have a stroll with my wife somewhere we hadn't been since the kids started school. Just killed time with my dad in his wheelchair until it was time to meet the daughter from work. Place had changed but still orientated for the whole community.

Paths are cut through the meadow for walkers, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts and there are stunning views back along the water meadows to Salisbury itself. At one end of the area there is a football pitch suitable for junior games. (Salisbury City Council notes) Use this park as a starting off point for a wonderful peaceful walk along the Broken Bridges Trail, overlooking Bemerton Meadow. Cross several bridges over the river Nadder and watch out for the wildlife.

Nature preserve
Avon Valley Nature Reserve is a 34-mile long-distance walking route that starts at Salisbury Cathedral and ends at Christchurch. The trail showcases diverse landscapes including wetlands, chalk downs, hay meadows, woodland, and quiet villages before reaching the English Channel. Divided into five sections, it offers options for both strong walkers to complete the whole trail over a long weekend or for those looking to sample day routes.
I drove past yesterday to find out there is some sort of river works ongoing perhaps to improve flood control. These pictures were from years back to remind all of how beautiful and pristine the reserve was. I enjoyed quite a many walks in solitude at the reserve in 2019 and 2020. Seriously hoping the council gets this right and that the ecobalance and beauty of the reserve is restored back soonest.

Always love walking here. The area has also been tidied up with more benches to appreciate the beauty of the nature. It is free, no entry fee

Arundells is a historic medieval house located in Cathedral Close, Salisbury. It was the former residence of British Prime Minister Edward Heath until his passing in 2005. The house has been open to the public since 2008 and offers a glimpse into its late 13th-century heritage as well as personal items and custom furnishings commissioned by Heath.
Whatever your opinion of the late Sir Edward Heath, this is a fascinating place to visit, full of his impressive collections from around the world. The delightful garden backs on to the River Avon and has superb views over to the cathedral.
Simon R — Google review
Absolutely fascinating, a chance to see the man as well as the politician. The story of the man away from politics, his wartime experiences, music & travel were all fascinating. The volunteer were very informative adding a little more information in Ted Heath's character and what it was like for him when he lived at Arundells.
Andy T — Google review
A very happy experience last Thursday on a wet and miserable June day. The entry for house and garden was reasonable, £10, especially as the ticket is valued for entry for another 12 months. As many reviewers have said, the room stewards were very knowledgeable and welcoming. Lots of reading material in each room and fascinating facts to learn. Particularly interesting was the room containing information about Heath’s war record. His books, music, paintings and sporting achievements indicate an erudite Prime Minister worthy of his position.
M J — Google review
The former home of Prime Minister Edward Heath. His last residence, filled with lots of photos and his collections. Great room guides sharing the history. The garden is quite tranquil. It cost us £10 each to enter and has a small souvenirs. Worth it though for the upkeep.
Lynn ( — Google review
Lovely Georgian house, inside has been modernised but some aspects remain. Inside is all about ex PM Edward Heath and the items he collected or was presented when in office. Lovely garden runs out to the river and there's part of his yacht with a tragic tale.
Warren H — Google review
Looks good 👍 from the outside unfortunately couldn't afford to go in this time no money but got some photos disabled accessible toilets in and outside cathedral parking very tricky brilliant views
Matthew B — Google review
Beautiful, historic house of a true statesman. Lovely stewards, very friendly and helpfull
Astrid H — Google review
Absolutely fascinating house with wonderful volunteers. Steeped in history and as Ted Heath left it full of his possessions including paintings, photos, books, his piano and gifts from all the dignitaries that he met. The garden is beautiful. It was a privilege being able to visit this house and gardens.

Hudson's Field is a large open field with a slight incline, perfect for running or playing football. It is open 24 hours and has excellent facilities for recreational activities.
Open multipurpose field adjoining Old Sarum Castle. A very good place to walk the dog, meditate and have a family picnic during summer month. Different sporting activities take place on the field such as Rugby, in fact Rugby Salisbury occupies the neighbouring building. Camping and caravan are also allowed. Fitness sessions with instructors hold on weekends, mostly in the mornings and evenings sometimes. There is ample parking and lots of grounds to cover. All regularly maintained. This weekend there is a visiting Circus.

Harnham Cricket Pitch is an enchanting location with stunning views of the Cathedral and the River Nadder. It is a great spot to picnic and enjoy a peaceful afternoon walk, as well as home to mighty Village Inn Cricket Club.
Have wanted to visit the water meadows at Salisbury for some time. Harnham Cricket Park was the ideal place to start our journey. Found all the locals in the area, very friendly, and the sports field well kept. Our gentle walk to The Old Mill was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In fact my husband said it was the best day out for quite sometime.

Great open space to walk play rest picnic run - follow it to the Old Mill Hotel Pub and restaurant and continue the walk across Town Path to Elizabeth Gardens another beautiful landmark famous for its painting by Constable! A beautiful setting for an evening river walk! Your footsteps will be in the shadow of The Cathedral as your walk takes you along the riverbank with wonderful views across ancient water meadows. Finish your stroll at the door into the bar of The Old Mill Hotel. Marvellous! 👍🍻🥂
DaveA — Google review
This is quite a large field next to the river which is great to let your dogs off lead and the dogs can then cool off and play in the river. It's also a great place for a picnic. Nice and quiet and out of the way of all the hussle and bussle. A short walk to a large carpark which has toilets. And a short walk into Town.

Our home pitch, it's lovely, of course...home of The Village Inn Cricket Club! Great setting with the river running round it and a superb view of Salisbury Cathedral... Park
Fisherton Recreation Ground is a developing 'River Park' located next to the Avon Valley Nature Reserve. It's currently undergoing regeneration, making it best to avoid until all work is completed. Visitors can enjoy a walk along the boardwalk by the river, spot fairy houses, release tadpoles into the stream, and let children fish and play with toys in a safe area. The grounds are well-kept with clean walkways and accessible amenities like toilets.
Great place to wander and enjoy the plants and river wildlife
Ian C — Google review
I went for a walk along the boardwalk by the river with my minded children and they had a great time spotting the fairy houses and practicing numbers. We released some tadpoles into the stream as so many hatched from the frogspawn we had collected abut a month earlier. Then we stopped at an assessable bay where there was a seat and a safe place for the children to fish and play with toys in the river. We walked back and ended up at the park. There are toilets beside the field.
Nicki B — Google review
Love taking a walk here. Dog walkers are obviously responsible and respectful as there were a few dogs but no mess. The Council have up-kept the grounds and the walkways. The river is clean and full of wildlife. A very pleasant walk at anytime of the year.
Paul N — Google review

History Museums
The Salisbury Museum, located in the King's House opposite the cathedral's west front, offers a fascinating journey through history. The Wessex gallery presents significant archaeological discoveries from prehistoric times to the Norman Conquest, including Stonehenge-related exhibits. Visitors can explore local costumes spanning 250 years and remarkable British ceramics. Additionally, the museum features Turner watercolors and the impressive 12-foot Salisbury Giant alongside his companion hobbyhorse, Hob Nob.
I came in late, about 45 minutes before closing, after hearing a rumor about a mummified hand being displayed here. The docent informed me that, sadly, there was no hand, but there were LOTS of skeletons and a mummified cat. I felt seen! This man has matched my freak. I was charged a minimal late entry fee (around £5). The staff here was wonderfully informative and I enjoyed tooling around the museum and asking questions as I saw fit. The museum has quite a diverse collection of artifacts as well as art. I think it houses the largest collection of Stonehenge artifacts, which was nice to see right after Stonehenge. It really completed my little tour of the area and I will probably come back. There's a cafe on site, closed while I was there, and a nice gift shop where I stocked up on postcards.
Millie H — Google review
Lovely modern museum, good lighting and layout. Many exhibits, in fact the better than the interior exhibition at Stonehenge by some margin. Neolithic era and Bronze age exhibits. Its holding many of the pieces from all the famous local sites including the Amesbury archer. And the Salisbury drainage collection of lost personal items is excellent. Multiple eras covered all presented in a modern way. Recommended.
Jools U — Google review
Excellent museum, very well laid out and informative. Child friendly with plenty to keep the young ones engaged. A great half day visit, a whole day if combined with the cathedral. Would highly recommend.
John — Google review
Their Wessex gallery takes you back in time to the Stone Age. My favourite item is a jade axe head: perfectly formed, with a polished finish, yet about 6000 years old. In another part of the museum, learn about local spitfire manufacture during WW2. And there's loads more... Currently there is a small but excellent exhibition about Elizabeth Frink showing something of her life, a few pieces of smaller scale sculpture and her 2D art work. If the weather is good you can have coffee and cake on the front lawn with a excellent view of the cathedral. Well worth a visit, in fact worth several visits.
Nick G — Google review
Fabulous collection of local artefacts. Anglo Saxon, Roman, Bronze and Iron ages. Some fascinating reconstituted burials with grave goods. All set in a lovely environmentally controlled building in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral. Well worth a visit.
Heather C — Google review
I had such a fantastic experience at the Salisbury Museum! The museum is beautifully laid out, well-structured, and packed with fascinating things to see – I ended up spending around three hours there because there was so much history to take in, and it honestly surprised me how engaging it all was. The volunteers and staff are absolutely wonderful – friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They’re more than happy to guide you through the exhibits and share the stories behind the history, which really brought everything to life. I felt genuinely proud to have moved here and to be able to support such an amazing museum. If you’re as lucky as I was, you might get to meet Nigel – he was brilliant, taking the time to explain many of the displays in a really engaging way. It made the visit even more memorable. The museum also has a lovely café and a gift shop, which was the perfect way to finish the visit with a tea and a snack. It’s very family-friendly too, with activities to keep children entertained. I can’t recommend this museum enough – it’s a must-visit in Salisbury!
Ersilia R — Google review
Excellent museum with soooooo many finds in the local area and a comprehensive look at the history of Salisbury. We had 75mins, but needed more. Only open till 4 in winter. Nice cafe, friendly staff. I reckon it'll take 2hrs or more to take time to look round. Wish I had more time.
Jackie R — Google review
The Museum boasts an incredible array of artefacts from throughout our history. We were surprised (pleasantly) at the care that has gone into the design of the galleries, which ensures that the Disabled or people short of sight/hearing are catered for. From low information boards, to well laid-out exhibits, as well as seats throughout the galleries. The level of thought that has gone into ensuring that people from minority groups are represented through fact-checking and getting outside opinions is incredible. Our visit to the Museum was only let down by the cafe. While their menu is certainly unique from other museum cafes, with an all-day breakfast and toasted bagels, as well as a fish finger brioche bun, quiche, and chilli con carne, the lack of vegan options is stark. From a menu which isn't labelled at all for allergy and dietary requirement, to unclear options for sandwiches, toasties and jacket potato fillings, I was the only let down member of my party, with only a bag of crisps to satisfy me, while my group had full lunches. A review from 2017 on TripAdvisor also lists this problem, so it would be good if reviews could be checked, and adequate steps are made to ensure that all Dietary Requirements are catered from (even if it is just a generic vegan cheese toastie). This won't stop us from revisiting the museum by any means, but we will certainly have to rethink our plans on what to eat while we visit. Top marks to the Museum, but the Cafe needs work.

Salisbury Market, located in the heart of Salisbury town center, is a historic market that has been running for over 800 years. Open every Tuesday and Saturday from 8am to 3pm, it brings together local businesses offering a wide variety of goods including food, drink, and local produce. With over fifty stalls selling items such as bread, cakes, fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry and specialty foods like preserves and chutneys.
Lovely town square dating back some 800 years with some lovely old Tudor buildings on it and a lot of cool things to look at and buy. We went into the old guild hall which is now used I think as the Council Hall. I was able to find an excellent wooden shopping board made of recycled wood and obviously Salisbury Cathedral is just a couple of hundred metres away so easy to see a couple of amazing old things all at the same time!

More than just a market in Summer time. Kids play areas. World food stalls. Relatively large market as local markets go in this area of the country. Market stalls are not just in the Square, you will find stalls by the streams too.

When you find yourself in Salisbury, make sure to check out ODEON Salisbury, a charming cinema that stands out from the typical multiplex experience. The building itself is quite impressive and adds to the overall ambiance of your movie outing.
Fabulous building and inexpensive tickets. The screens aren't huge, and the standard seats could be more comfortable, but for £5 we weren't complaining. There are some better seats (for a bit extra) in the front few rows, which we will probably use in the future (as the screen is not so big).

No such thing as 'the big screen' in this odeon. Would've absolutely seemed bigger waiting for the film to come out and watch it at home! Love the old building though, hence the additional star

Really nice complex, kept the character of high ceilings and open beams. Only issue is one of the screens is so far away, think screen 5. It's terrible, may as well watch it at home. Doesn't give the cinema experience at all so be cautious what screen you book into as the others are ok.
Tom — Google review
As a local cinema in a wonderful building it could be a great experience, but the last few times I’ve regretted it and most recently, walked out 15 minutes into the F1 movie. The sole reason being that the chairs are terribly uncomfortable and in the case of the F1 movie I wanted to enjoy it but it was WAY too loud, to the point the audio was distorted. I left and will visit another cinema where I can enjoy the movie to its potential. I can’t fault the staff here as on every visit they’ve always been friendly and attentive, but the aging furnishings let it down.
Tom J — Google review
No surround sound which is shocking. Stereo audio. Definitely not odeon cinema quality. Place needs a revamp. We were in screen 1, screen is so small, people sitting further back might have as well been in a living room. Hard to believe this is part of the odeon group. We could also hear sounds from a movie in the room next-door, never great when watching a horror movie. Odeon, put some money into this place and upgrade it!

Do not book online !! They charge you extra . It says it is cheaper to book online but that is an utter lie .. they charge 2 pounds extra online as a ( online fee) which makes absolutely no sense as it should save them money. And also when u pay online an issue occurs where they charge you for the tickets and the seats get booked up so when u go back to try get the same nice seats they are booked . And it seams like a refund of un used tickets are out of the question
James L — Google review
It's not a great cinema, 3 stars is me being kind. If you are an avid film lover I don't think it gives you the classic experience we've become accustomed to. The old building, as beautiful as it is historically it isn't suitable as a cinema at all. Why they decided on this venue as a cinema is entirely baffling. The screens are very small, awkward, and very far away from seats, why they hung the screens at the back of the original staging area instead of the front is bizarre too. If you buy standard the view is terrible, parts of the screen isn't even viewable as its so far back in the stage and you are sat so low, there is zero warning about this. No modifications for it to be a cinema, its was designed for actors to stand on the stage. No matter where you're sat you should be able to see all the images. This is very poor service. Not to mention if someone sits in front of you, that's it....you can't see anything as most screens don't have tiered seating in standard so you have a head in your view the whole film?! Luckily there have been places for me to discreetly move to, but if it was a popular film, or I was blocked in, I'd not have this option. The audio sounds distant and the general enjoyment of the film is marred as you feel like your in a village hall watching a projector rather than at a big chain cinema with dolby. I guess that's why tge cheap tickets are 5 pounds. That's the only reason why I still go to be honest as im poor, if they charged full value for such poor offerings I would go at all. The staff are polite and attentive, I found the facilities, though clean, very outdated and desperate for some much needed modernisation desperatly needs some love and care a bit of sprucing up. Parking in the area is good, £1.90 all day on a sunday! Bonus! Disabled directly opposite very good! However I wouldn't recommend this cinema for disabled, very awkward, lots of stairs, 2 flights to get to the top tiny screens that are so small you might as well watch at home. The smallest screen has its own toilet, you'd think that was a good thing, guess again... it in the actual screen??? This is madness. You have to endure the entire row standing up to let someone out then back in cause its cramp, then the cinema screen is not viewable as the lights from the toilets reflect on to the cinema screen?! I watch a rerelease of star wars and had this terrible experience the entire film. You could feel the annoyance from everyone. Everytime the toilet door opened, the lights blocked the projection then 2 mins later opened again when the user Finnish thier business, only to be opened yet again by the next patron! Who designed this ridiculous design needs to be fired. As usual the food is increasingly expensive and not worth it for such small amounts. £4 for 100g of sweets?!These cinema will never learn to make money things need to be affordable and reflective of what your buying. In a day where the cinema is dying out it is a shame that I have to drive 50min to get to a cinema, I will still support my "local" cinema, if you can even call it that. But feel there is a lot more odeon has to do ro win the masses back.

Lime Kiln Way Open Space is a great place to walk and explore nature. The space is especially good in the spring and summer when the flowers are in bloom. It's also great for dog walks, as there are many mud jumps to play on. The space was created by volunteers many years ago, and has recently been cut back so that kids can use it again.
A beautiful place to have a wander and look across the city.

A lovely place for a walk but please clean up after your dog. There was an awful lot of dog mess in the middle of paths and on the edges today. Selfish and inconsiderate of people.

Lovely space to walk through. Whatever the season, and the weather, the space is crammed with a broad and diverse variety of flora situated along meandering natural pathways. When wet, boots are recommended!

Studio Theatre is a cherished and vibrant art form in the UK, with venues found in most towns and cities across the country. The annual pantomime in Salisbury is a popular family production, while live music and comedy can be enjoyed at Salisbury City Hall. The theatre has an intimate stage with approximately 90 seats and is run by volunteers who make visitors feel welcome. Visitors highly recommend catching a show at this lovely venue to experience joy and laughter.
Small theatre with a bar, snacks, clean facilities and very good productions.

A lovely little theatre in Salisbury, tucked away on Ashley Road, I watched mu first performance here, "Noises Off" which was hilarious and so cleverly done with the set changes and an extremely talented cast. I will definitely return!
Little M — Google review
This may be termed as an 'amateur' theatre but you would not know this by the standard of their shows... productions are highly professional standards - arguably better. Plays are varied and not just 'bums-on-seats' run-of-the-mill stuff. The venue is 'intimate' to say the least, as the audience sits right up to and on the stage. Highly recommended if you can get a seat... book early to catch early bird tickets. Capacity is only 90 seats and they sell out often!

A lovely theatre in Salisbury. A more intimate stage with approx 90 seats. We performed here recently and the building was great to work in. Everyone we met was so helpful and made us really welcome. I would recommend visiting and/or hiring this venue. Overall a great place to visit if you get a chance.👍

This was a personal tour by a family member. What a great place, all ran by volunteers in their own time. I only wish that we were in Salisbury longer to have seen one of the many amazing shows that get put on here. If you are ever in the area, try, try, try to see one of the shows to keep this amazing place full of joy and laughter.

Place of worship
Salisbury Cathedral, located in The Close, Salisbury SP1 2EJ, is a stunning example of early English architecture. It boasts the tallest spire in England at over 400ft and offers guided tours to the base for breathtaking views. The cathedral is also home to one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta from 1215 and houses the world's oldest working clock dating back to 1386.
This place ROCKED! What a beautiful church with such a rich history. We had just a couple of hours to spend in Salisbury and had to visit this amazing church. We did a self-guided tour in about an hour and could have spent more time there. Admission provides for entry for a whole year. Would love to get back here when we have more time.
DUdErOck — Google review
Fabulous morning looking round the cathedral! Beautiful, so much history. Magna Carta was fantastic. The cafe is amazing, wonderful food, GREAT coffee and the homemade shortbread is to die for!! But the view of the spire through the glass roof is inspired! Our whippet had a great run round outside admiring the view before we went in, huge safe area between the cathedral and the car park. Will be back, especially as you can visit the cafe without going into the cathedral. Really highly recommend a visit.

Wonderful visit. £2 cheaper if you book online. £11 instead of £13. Spent a good hour and a half wLking round. Lots of information boards. Talk on the clock fascinating. All the cathedral guides well knowledgeable and informative. Cafe has meals and snacks, nor cheap though. Two teas and a bicci £9.50! Lots to become absorbed in. Well worth a visit. Didn't have time for tours. We parked at long stay car park £7.50 for 5 hours.

This is a fantastic place to come and view an amazing building. There is a lot to see and learn about. The staff and volunteers were all very nice and helpful. Magna Carter was a fascinating object to see. The refectory and gift shop were a pleasing addition. Well worth the entry fee.

The chapter housed the magna carta and had boards you could walk around with which explained what all the carvings were, what a great idea. We stayed about 2 hours because of parking but you could spend all day there. The price of admission allows you to visit as many times as you want for 12 months.

Beautiful cathedral. The tower tour is amazing. I am claustrophobic and it’s fine as the staircases are in open spaces so you are not closed in. Amazing views from the top and the guides are brilliant. Very peaceful surroundings.

Wow, the people here are SO nice, especially the gate agent entering the grounds! He didn't charge us because we just wanted to stop and snap a picture. He not only gave us a super easy/quick place to park, he opened the bathrooms for us!!! AND, he gave us some interesting history of the cathedral's construction (built over a watersoaked gravel bed). Oh, and the Cathedral is gorgeous from the outside - didn't go inside. FYI - also check out the Atlas Obscura noted High Street Gate nearby

Gym
Nestled in the heart of Salisbury, Five Rivers Leisure Centre is a fantastic destination for those looking to dive into some fun and fitness. With three distinct swimming pools, including a standard lane pool for serious swimmers, an infant pool perfect for little ones, and a sculpted kids' area complete with water jets and a slide, there's something for everyone. The centre also boasts facilities like squash courts and badminton and tennis courts available for hire.
We attended five rivers leisure centre for a swimming pool party at the weekend, it was absolutely lovely. The whole place was actually quite quiet and the kids had a great time. The facilities were lovely and clean and everything looked like it had been well looked after! No complaints here 😊
Charlotte S — Google review
The updated gym is fantastic and the leisure centre as a whole is now very accessible due to the Sainsbury’s car park renovations being finished. However, it is often busy and the membership prices can be quite steep outside of holidays for students. Altogether, a decent place to workout.
Tristan E — Google review
A great council facility that has a fantastic range of gym equipment after it's refurbishment although sadly not digitally linked to your individual workout on your membership card. I lack confidence in the trainer's on the gym floor when it comes to their ability to tailor training to an individuals needs. There are good pools, sports courts and a good range of classes. The Wood Bar coffee shop is very good and has a nice seating area and work space. My huge criticism of the main facility however is cleanliness, particularly in the large public seating area. It really is disgustingly filthy! The fabric seats, sofas and footstools are so dirty, as are the plastic chairs. The whole area is in need of a deep clean and regular maintenance.
Nikki V — Google review
Another one star review for the ridiculous booking system and swimming area as a whole. Went with my five year old daughter, wanted to go in the teaching pool at first then beach pool as a treat. Apparently you need to book one or the other. I asked if you could move between and at reception they said that would be OK if it wasn't busy. Oh no, got in to the pool area and the managing life guard had none of it. Said the teaching pool would be dangerous if too many people (there was one family of three). Wouldn't let me go in it. Then rudely said she is going to stop wasting time talking to me. I understand if the pool was busy, but it had a maximum of three people in the whole session, and at one point was empty so they shut it. She did say we could go in the big pool, despite my daughter being a non swimmer. So we stayed in the beach pool, which was cold. The changing rooms were dirty, and broken toilet roll dispensers in the gents, so toilet roll all over the floor. Another family with elderly lady and small kids got in pool towards the end of the session, and told it was five minutes too early and they had to sit on the bench (wet). Ridiculous. You'd be treated better in prison I expect.
Aaron W — Google review
Good mix of standard pool for swimming lengths / lane swimming, infant pool, and a sculpted pool for kids with water jets and short tube slide. Like a lot of swimming pools of this era (1990s'?) it is aging, which shows a bit around the changing room area and ceilings, but is kept clean and well maintained. I can't comment on the gym or other facilities as haven't used them. Lots of parking available though.
Richard T — Google review
Rocked up at 8:30 this morning to go swimming with my kid, only to be told they’ve brought in a new booking system. Had to wait until 09:00 even though the pool was empty. Have to pick between the beach pool and the teaching pool now, and if we’re ‘lucky’ the lifeguard will let you in to the main pool. Oh, and don’t forget the sessions are now timed to 1h15. And - prices have gone up to over 17 quid for 2 adults and 1 child. Absolutely moronic, money grabbing management. Shameful.

Would not recommend this leisure centre went yesterday me and my partner told the person at the desk I’m Pregnant with twins can’t go in Coldwater as it would send my body into shock she said yeah yeah that’s fine give us a Wristband Got into swimming pool It was cold found out there was a warm swimming pool got told we couldn’t go in there. Explain the situation to the life of God still got told. No, I’ve got so cold To the point where we went for the showers, they were disgusting. Those mould on the shower And green moss Shortly after that started to get headache, my nose started to go stuffy couldn’t keep food down Called Dr Frend to explain it can only be because I’ve been in contact with Green moss and mould And the fact there was kids and adults coughing and sneezing in the pool and the doctor says with the cold water That I had to swim After being told that I could go into the warm water area He said it sent my body into shock and made it weak To the point where these people that was coughing and sneezing passed on their cold to me I only thank God that my twins are alright But I would not recommend this leisure centre as hygiene is not good floor is filthy You tell Them that you’re pregnant And you can’t go in cold water as you’ve been told not to go in cold water so you can Go into the warm water you literally can’t as you get refused that

Took my 3 Grandchildren this Saturday. Only allowed into the Beach Pool which was chilly. Told at Reception Large Pool not available. Restricted to 1 hour 15 minutes also with a chap very happy blowing his whistle to clear the pool Very very poor value for money. The water slide kept being closed, the water flumes were not allowed on apparently as they would be too noisy right over in the training pool. !! The sauna pool also was shut. The ladies toilets were very grubby. The whole of the changing rooms looked as if it could do with a good clean. The Large Pool was not at all busy but the guard on the edge would not let anyone enter. Had not realised you now need to book individual pools, thats one way of tripling the revenue for a poor service. Only good bit was the coffee afterwards but the seats were very stained and needed steam cleaning. Very disappointing visit altold.

Children can enjoy various activities such as slides, ball pools, and climbing walls while older kids can engage in the suspenseful Laser Combat section. Additionally, the venue offers character-themed party rooms and reasonably priced dining options.
Really good soft play, clean and accessible. Plus the play area is a good height so you don't have to crouch down as a parent. Pretty quiet in the afternoons on weekdays.

Our visit was connected with the entertainment of our little one. The little one had a lot of fun, everything is safe, no sharp corners, many places in the labyrinth where a child can safely climb, many Balls in which she could have fun from the heart. The administrator at the entrance is quite friendly. It is good that they give out a coupon where they put a stamp for the visit and every 11th visit will be free for you. Of the minuses: Everyone needs to take off their shoes, but not all adults were barefoot (those who were expecting children). A little effort for disinfection would not hurt.
Nataly V — Google review
Worst place I have ever been bowling. Every ball veered off to the left for all 4 of us. I asked the old lady working behind the counter if we could switch lanes and she was so dismissive. Said "no, they're level. They have to be, they've been here 27 years. Nobody else has complained." £47 for bowling on a lane that isnt level! The whole place is so run down too. Cables hanging from the ceiling, tvs not working properly, everything is broken and the less said about the toilets the better. The pins quite often didnt set up properly, and we couldnt put the barriers down as a ball was just left stuck behind it. I'd be embarrassed to work there and will definitely not be back.

Had a great couple of hours entertaining our kids. First bowling then soft play. The service is fantastic, the prices are good, and the wearing out of the kids is very needed! Love the staff here, always friendly and keeping on top of the jobs... currently watching a lady juggle cleaning, serving and hoovering... and she even took the time to take a photo of myself and my friend after serving our drinks... legend!
Laura F — Google review
I absolutely LOVE coming here with my daughter it’s such a fun and engaging space, and she always has a great time. However, I do want to raise a concern about the baby area. I often find myself having to ask older children to be careful around my baby, as they tend to come into the baby zone without any adult supervision which, according to your rules, isn’t allowed. I’ve mentioned it to staff a few times, and while they do respond, the issue tends to return within minutes. Unfortunately, a recent incident where an older child fell on my baby, despite my polite requests for caution it has made me hesitant to return as often. I understand it’s hard to monitor everything all the time, but perhaps there could be clearer enforcement of age restrictions in the baby area, or more frequent staff checks. I’m only bringing this up because we really do love visiting, and I’d like to feel confident in the space being safe for the little ones.
Lucy S — Google review
It's a great place if it's quiet. But the minute it gets any sort of busy it's horrific. We arrived at about 1.30 on a Saturday afternoon. Found a seat fine. Ordered food at 2pm of 2 kids meals and the nachos. We where told we'd be waiting 25-30minutes due to it being busy. We left it till 2.45 before my husband went up to ask. Only to hear other tables had been waiting an hour and a half. We waited another 15minutes and by the time the food appeared we were sick of waiting. Asked to speak to the manager to get a refund and leave. The manager. Well she was insanely rude. Gave no time for me to explain that whilst we appreciate they are busy we were told 25-30 minutes. She came out with totally the wrong attitude. Eventually pushing me to the point that I told her I've got no interest in her explanations. I just want a refund and we'll leave. We usually go to outburst once or twice a month, but I'm not longer a fan. We won't be back. The staff were lovely and it's a shame the management couldn't be more approachable or sympathetic to getting children to wait an hour for food!
Kim A — Google review
Good place for kids' party, fun activities for kids, including toddlers. There's also bowling alley available. Has lots of different rooms for character themed parties. Food is reasonably priced and cheap overall. The staff try their best to keep the place clean, but will benefit from some deep clean once in a while. It's wheelchair accessible (plus parking) with a disabled toilet and a baby changing room. Not well ventilated, felt a bit stuffy, in my opinion. Overall, it is more suited for kids than adults visiting for bowling. There's parking on site, and it's free.

Nature preserve
Harnham Water Meadows is a picturesque nature reserve located in Salisbury, England. It offers guided walking tours and stunning views of the historic Salisbury Cathedral. The meadows, which date back to the 19th century, were originally used for agricultural purposes and now serve as a sanctuary for various wildlife, including rare bird species and small mammals. Visitors can explore the area on foot or by bike, taking in the serene atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
Harnham water meadows are situated either side of a public footpath linking the city centre to Harnham via the old mill. Therefore access is always available. However during times of flooding the footpath can be under water. The water meadows are designated as an area of natural beauty and walking through them with views of the cathedral can be breathtaking. Not to be missed.

This is a large area of managed wetlands with drainage channels throughout. There is a single path, fenced off from the meadows that joins Salisbury centre to Harnham Mill. There are some good but distant views of the cathedral, and a few signs referring to Constable, who may have painted neer here.

A beautiful nature retreat, in Salisbury, ideal for a leisurely stroll along the River Avon—especially enchanting on a warm summer day when a refreshing dip or paddle in the river feels just right. In the distance, the spire of Salisbury Cathedral peeks through the landscape, adding a touch of wonder to the view. After exploring, the Old Mill pub, dog friendly, beckons with its charming riverside garden—an idyllic spot to unwind with a drink or enjoy a bite to eat after your walk. Highly recommend this spot for a visit.

Absolutely beautiful hike from Salisbury, very pretty area with thatched roofs. There is a little pub that serves nice beers and it's a great halfway place on the hike. They have food too but we didn't eat.

Great place to walk the dog and grandchildren. Pub very close if you work up a thirst! River is lovey; lots of wildlife to see (swans, kingfisher and woodpecker today)

Gorgeous paths with the sound of moving water, birds and sheep. Surrounded with many places to eat. Great for walks, jogs and pet walks. Meanders through this beautiful village built in the 1200s. Views of the cathedral from the paths.
Terri L — Google review
