Nature & Parks
Forsyth Park, located in the Savannah Historic District, is a 30-acre urban public park that serves as the heart of outdoor life in the city. Originally developed in the 1840s and expanded later, it features a historic fountain, Confederate and Spanish-American War memorials, fragrant gardens, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts. The park hosts various cultural events such as film screenings and sports matches.
This is one of the most beautiful city parks I've ever experienced! The beautiful tree canopy here is truly amazing. The large monument and ornate found in compliments the landscape perfectly. There's plenty of room here for everybody to stretch out and enjoy large fields or relaxing under the shade of the trees. Local artists items for sale as well making for a nice community experience overall.
Wind S — Google review
This is a beautiful park in the historic district. Lots of lovely shade trees and new benches. Many young locals out for a walk or run. Very active large park. Several historical sites and a fountain ⛲ and a nice restaurant. Dog friendly.
David M — Google review
Beautiful place to go for a walk, have a picnic, or just chill on a bench and people- watch or read a book! The trees are absolutely amazing!!! They also have a really cool farmers’ market on Saturday mornings with fresh produce, of course, and much more - food, art, various artisan goods, and fun, quirky surprises waiting to be discovered!
Jennifer W — Google review
This is where I'd go daily if I were living here. What a fantastic park to have an afternoon stroll, relax at one of the beaches and people watch, or find a little spot on the grass to end the day. Great history too and is famous with many films featuring the park.
Hung T — Google review
Forsyth Park is such a beautiful and dynamic place! There’s always something going on. people having picnics, kids playing, sports, and sometimes even live music. The vibe is amazing, full of life and good energy. It’s a perfect spot for walking, relaxing, or just spending time outdoors.
Samira — Google review
The fountain is currently out for restoration (July 2025), but this park is amazing. The vibe, the restaurant, the small garden... very picturesque! (Pics from April 2025). Come picnic ready, it's definitely the place for it. Street parking must be difficult on weekends (when the fountain is in), there's a farmers market every Saturday and there's special events happening all the time. Check the local calendar!
Elsa O — Google review
This park is fabulous! It’s a busy place on Saturday with soccer, ultimate frisbee, tennis, basketball, and anything else you can imagine. It also features a wonderful market along the central, live oak-line walkway. The fountain is beautiful and there’s construction happening and it looks like maybe a new zen garden is coming. There is a stage and I’d love to come back for a concert one day. Locals and visitors should take advantage of this amazing outdoor space early and often!
Heath S — Google review
Beautiful park and it should be one of the first places to visit when you are in Savannah. There is also free parking by the tenis courts and free bus that can take you from there to the waterfront and free ferry wich is great for sightseeing the whole downtown area.

Nature & Parks
Park
Skidaway Island State Park is a stunning waterfront park in Georgia, featuring camping options including cabins, nature programs, trails, and a viewing tower. The park boasts a picturesque lowcountry landscape of forests and salt marshes teeming with birdlife. Visitors can explore the boardwalk for an up-close view of the marsh or venture along nature trails that lead to historic sites such as Prohibition-era liquor stills and remnants of Civil War fortifications.
This park was the highlight of our trip to Savannah. We found it because my daughter is sloth obsessed and Google AI said the park has a life-size skeleton replica of a ground sloth. They have a very nice, but small nature center with several live snakes and turtles and a huge ground sloth skeleton. The playground was super fun and well maintained. We also took a two mile hike down to the river, the trails are well maintained and clearly marked. The employees were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Sharon B — Google review
The premium sites were the most level. They were considered premium because they had 50 amp service and sewer hookups. Our first night we were scheduled to be in site 77 which was so unlevel we absolutely could not set up with our 30 foot travel trailer. We moved to site one and stayed five more nights. They have nice laundry rooms and showers throughout the park. The Ranger station/store/education center is very new and nice.
Steve T — Google review
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly with the booking process and the campsites are tucked into the woods and are very cozy. The hiking trails are beautiful, especially early in the morning and we would happily stay again. Stayed in a class B 21 foot camper van.
SCL A — Google review
Lots of amenities at this state park. Very accessible. Electricity and water at every site. Beautiful, shady, spacious sites. Plenty of showers with abundant, warm water. Less than 30 minutes from Historic Savannah. Groceries and restaurants close at hand. There's even a coffee truck, Overflow Coffee, in the parking lot of the church right outside the park entrance, opening at 7 am.
Merry S — Google review
We recently camped here for two nights and loved it! What a beautiful park. We camped at site #4 which was a premium site - full hooks ups and pull thru. Site was very spacious and level and not close to neighbors. It felt very private. The visitor center is super nice and spacious. It also has a little nature center inside with turtles and snakes. The views are beautiful. The trees with the moss in them made for memorable pictures. We did the trail behind the visitor center. It had just rained so the trail was covered in ankle deep water. Beautiful views though and very flat and level. Easy for older people or kids to navigate. Definitely bring bug spray! Mosquitoes were plentiful. Even saw frogs and snakes! It’s close to Savannah and Tybee Island. It makes for a great base camp to explore the area.
Carrie C — Google review
Camping with the big long trailer. This is a premier Georgia state park. I'm happy we came. The sites are really well laid out with lots of options. Great trails, good facilities and real close to everything.
Kdan F — Google review
The park is beautiful as in shaddy & there are deers to see every day. We have a class A 38 ft. not big rig friendly, the roads are not wide enough & they are two way roads that should be one way, the roads are erupting because of tree roots, they should have been fixed years ago. The dump station is only on one side of the road. When we were there for a week there was this loud noise like a commercial leaf blower in the morning not sure if it was in the park.
T S — Google review
Our Scout Troop stayed in the pioneer (primitive) campsite, which was perfect for our group. The rangers and park staff were very helpful with our needs, and very happy to engage in conversation. They were all knowledgeable about the park and surrounding areas, and taught us about the natural features (and some invasive species) in the Low Country.

Wormsloe State Historic Site, located in Savannah, Georgia, is a picturesque historic landmark featuring the ruins of a Colonial estate, gardens, trails, and an oak-lined driveway. Once owned by Noble Jones, one of the original settlers of Savannah who arrived with General James Oglethorpe in 1733, this site offers visitors the chance to explore tabby ruins - known as the oldest standing structure in Savannah - and Noble Jones' original burial site.
I had just been to Bonaventure Cemetery and was completely eaten up by mosquitoes so I almost didn't get out when I pulled in. But I'm glad I did! You do have to pay to get in but they had a veteran discount for me which was nice. 😊 I chose to walk the 1.5 mile long live oak, Spanish moss, tree lined avenue. I was alone at the time, nobody was really there yet. It was peaceful and just so gorgeous. Would have loved to have spent more time hiking the trails there. Also, in my 1.5 hours there, I got only one mosquito but at the very end. I was so surprised but thankful! This beautiful place is definitely worth visiting. Completed shaded the whole time pretty much too!
Justine V — Google review
Wormsloe State Historic Site is a must-see when visiting Savannah. From the moment you enter the breathtaking oak-lined drive, you know you’re in for something special. The grounds are both peaceful and full of history, with plenty of opportunities to learn and explore at your own pace. I really appreciated that visitors can choose to walk the full trail system or hop on the trolley for part of the journey—it makes the experience accessible for everyone. The weather was perfect during our visit, which made wandering through the shaded paths even more enjoyable. To top it off, there’s a charming little shop with unique gifts and keepsakes, a nice way to end a truly memorable outing.
Maricela M — Google review
Wormsloe Historic Site is absolutely stunning! The long oak-lined entrance is breathtaking, it feels like stepping into a movie. The place is full of history and charm, with peaceful walking trails and beautiful scenery all around. It’s a great spot to learn a bit about Savannah’s past while enjoying nature. Definitely worth visiting!
Samira — Google review
A wonderful visit. The Park Guides are very nice and informative. Taking the ride through the 1.5 miles of the Live Oak canopied drive is great. Lovely walking/hiking trails as well!
C C — Google review
I’m so grateful that they now have a ranger hook up seating to a tractor and took us down to the museum. They stopped letting folks in the main gate because there were too many cars on the mile and a half stretch, and it was destroying the roots of the trees, not to mention aggravation for the people who live there. They have a very informative museum as well as a trail down to the tabby ruins and Jones’s Cemetery
Maureen M — Google review
One of my favorite experiences, of course, the history behind it isn't the greatest, but there's so much nature to look at, and the walk for a mile or the ride by the tractor 🚜 was great as well! So many beautiful oak trees, it is worth taking many photos of all those beautiful trees.
Ray — Google review
I photographed a friend here for her senior photos. Absolutely beautiful place. Came down on a weekend and it was not too busy. Definitely a place to visit if you love seeing nature.
Kami P — Google review
You HAVE to visit! This place is incredible. The stunning live oak avenue is just the start. At the visitor center, you get a quick history lesson, a fascinating museum, and a great gift shop. But the real magic is outside: walk to the 1737 tabby ruins (oldest in Savannah!), explore trails with gorgeous marsh views, and catch the living history demonstrations in the Colonial Life Area (afternoons, weather permitting). Plus, five more miles of nature trails if you're up for it. For only $12 an adult, this is an absolute steal for a day of history and nature!" Parking is free

Chippewa Square, located in Savannah, Georgia, is a historic and picturesque destination that holds significant architectural and historical value. Established in 1815 to honor the Battle of Chippewa from the War of 1812, this square features stunning buildings like the Savannah Theatre and First Baptist Church. Visitors can appreciate its lush green spaces while exploring the statue dedicated to James Oglethorpe at its center.
Chippewa Square is a charming spot in Savannah, easily recognizable for its connection to Forrest Gump. While the iconic bench from the movie isn't here (it's housed in the Savannah History Museum), the square itself is lovely and worth a visit. It's a perfect place to sit, relax under the oaks, and soak in the Savannah atmosphere, imagining Forrest waiting for his bus. A cute piece of cinematic history in a beautiful setting.
Julie Z — Google review
this truly was an unexpected find. we had a afternoon to hold us till dinner time so the wife got tickets for this play at this old theater which really was unique. add the park just across the street which was incredibly beautiful even on a 90° day.
AG L — Google review
Great place for a walk. Beautiful gardens and flowers. Unfortunately the Forrest Gump bench is no longer there. Locals stated it has been moved to a museum.
Nicolas R — Google review
Nice little park, you can walk all the way around it. It barely resembles "Forrest Gump" anymore but still iconic. Vendors tak up alot of the picture space on the weekends so try coming during the week. Enjoy the surrounding shops as well.
David I — Google review
Beautiful trees, plenty of seats to relax and enjoy the view. The major attraction here is that Forrest Gump bus stop scene was filmed here. The bench was a prop and no longer in place but at the Savannah History Museum.
Guy J — Google review
Each of the squares in Savannah are unique. This one is no different, and happens to be the back drop from the famous scene in Forest Gump. There did not appear to be any visible signs of the actual bench in the scene but can visualize it along the street, looking at the backside of the statue in the middle of the park.
Jeremiah K — Google review
Nice square amongst many nice squares in Savannah. This is of course home to the famous bench where forest gump sat at the infamous bus stop. Unfortunately the bench is no longer there and resides in a museum. It would be nice if the location of where the bench was has a mark. It does not.
Joe D — Google review
Very neat and historic square. Where Forrest Gump sat to tell his story. Unfortunately, his bench is gone. However, I believe it was relocated to an indoor location and can be viewed there.

Daffin Park, located on the east side of Savannah near Victory Drive, is an expansive 80-acre recreational park designed by landscape architect John Nolen in 1907. The park features athletic fields and courts, a pool, a lakeside walking trail, and a shaded dog run. Adjacent to the Georgia State Railroad Museum and the Savannah Children's Museum, Daffin Park offers visitors easy access to these attractions.
This is a real gem This park is in a really busy section of Savannah that I'm so surprised at how beautiful it is Just got tennis courts it's got a running sidewalk all the way around the perimeter it's got a beautiful green grass area it's just got so much Has a water fountain This is my first time here and I really like it I'll be spending a little more time here when I need a place to just hang out and maybe run a loop or two or let the dogs out for exercise
Simply S — Google review
If you are ever traveling to Florida this is a must see! This park jumps right out of a painting! The surrounding area is also beautiful! There is also some local artists selling all kinds of paintings and jewelry.
Holly R — Google review
Daffin Park is overall a nice place spacious, green, and great for walking, relaxing, or enjoying the outdoors. The playground and open areas are perfect for kids to run around, and the scenery makes it a pleasant spot for families. That said, the homeless presence around certain areas, especially near the playground, can make the atmosphere feel a little unsavory at times. While it doesn’t take away from the park’s overall charm, it’s something families with young children should be aware of. With a bit more upkeep and attention to safety, Daffin Park could be an excellent five-star experience.
Phylisha D — Google review
Dog friendly. They have a dog park but we personally do not do dog parks. We love taking our dogs here for walks though! Plenty of parking as well!
Ashley J — Google review
Nice accessible park! Visited from out of town and I have driving anxiety in cities and this park was very easy to navigate. I felt safe here. my son loved the toddler swings and the smaller slides! Great for toddlers

It is always a pleasure going to Daffin Park,,, plenty of space,, plenty of activities going on,, get to meet and see the Bananas baseball team,,, and there's a outdoor Personal trainer out there with tons of equipment and clients training
Mike W — Google review
I traveled from Fl for a Tree Climbing competition at Daffin park. This park has the most gorgeous and amazing trees. Plenty of parking and areas to walk your dog or play with family. Kids park, tennis courts, bathrooms, walking trails and fields galore. I frequently go to parks and this one by far exceeded my expectations and was a Pleasure to experience! A Must see
Alisha A — Google review
Nice park for a walk or run. Mile marker signs posted for convenience. Even though it’s close to the main road, it’s not very loud. However, one side of the park is near the fire station and that could get loud at times of an emergency. The park has a waking trail, dog park, playground, basketball court, and I believe a pool. The fountain is also gorgeous and has benches around it for seating. Be careful with little ones around the pond. Oh, it also features a huge lot of green grass for whatever you’d like. Such as, soccer, running, star gazing, etc. people bring their dogs out on a leash as well. Lovely park.

Oatland Island Wildlife Center is a zoo-like preserve that offers an intimate wildlife experience for families. The center features natural habitats where dozens of species roam freely. Visitors can explore different exhibits, such as Predators of Georgia and Wolf Wilderness, showcasing animals like cougars, bobcats, grey wolves, and armadillos. Families can enjoy safe animal encounters and educational programs while strolling along the two-mile trail through marshes and forests.
We recently had the chance to visit the Oatland Island Wildlife Center, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, everything felt very inviting and well cared for. The staff clearly put a lot of effort into keeping the grounds, habitats, and facilities clean, safe, and enjoyable for visitors. It was especially noticeable how well-upkept everything was, which made exploring the area even more pleasant. Our two-year-old had an absolute blast, which says a lot because young kids can sometimes be hard to please when it comes to outings. He loved walking the trails, seeing the animals up close, and pointing out everything with excitement. Watching his reactions made the experience even more memorable for us as parents. There was a nice balance of shaded paths, open areas, and interactive spaces that kept him entertained without being overwhelming. The variety of animals was also impressive, and it felt like each enclosure was designed thoughtfully, both for the animals’ comfort and for the visitors’ viewing experience. Overall, Oatland Island Wildlife Center exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely recommend it to families with young children or anyone looking for a relaxing, educational, and fun day outdoors.
Josh T — Google review
The lady at the ticket booth was very friendly. If it were not for her this would be a 1 star review. The cost is very reasonable, but I was expecting to see more animals. For the length of the trail, there are very few animals. And the few they had, many were hiding, in vet care or for whatever reason the exhibit is closed. It was pretty hot when we came as well, in the mid-80’s so by the time we were halfway through we were dripping in sweat. The first half of the trail was somewhat enjoyable but after that it was just torture. Very few animals and we just wanted it to end! If you like walking a lot and sweating a lot, go for it. If you like seeing lots of animals, go somewhere else.
Cammy H — Google review
A great way to spend a few hours outside, taking a walk and seeing animals. The wildlife trail is very pretty to walk through with a few different stops to sit. This place is also affordable at $5 for adults, I definitely recommend.
Stephanie — Google review
This is a great location for children to learn about many different animals varying from wolves to eagles. It was hot so bring plenty of water and be sure to take breaks. The trail is about 2 miles long and offers some shade.
Matthew C — Google review
What an absolute great time, and for a low entry price! This is an absolute must if you have children and are looking to burn a couple of hours. The inside is relatively small and short, but the outside walking trail is a nice long easily 2 hour walk full of animals and experiences. We enjoyed the small aquatic display inside and the cute gift shop, but the real hit was the farm area with all the various animals, cows, donkeys, sheep, goat, chickens, pigs, turkeys, and a few others really drew the whole thing in and made it a great stop for our toddler. DOWNSIDES. The walking trail while accessible, is very rough in some spots and not the best in others so it can be challenging briefly. Come prepared with bug spray, water, and fans depending on the time of year, and you should be good to go.
Robert B — Google review
What a great place to spend a lazy Sunday. They have a great selection of animals including bison, owls, deer and more! Make sure to check out the cougar exhibit as well! They were very active. Nice cute gift shop too. Very cheap admission too! Would definitely visit again sometime soon!
James T — Google review
Staff was super friendly and you can tell the animals are very well taken care of. Beautiful scenery and trails. Just be sure to keep an eye on the weather! You will get soaked if it starts raining! 🤣
Bert C — Google review
What a wonderful walk on the nature trail. Some of the animals (cats) were hiding because of time of day but I enjoyed scenery and many birds. My watch read 2.31 miles for the total loop from the visitor's center.

Fort McAllister State Park, located in Savannah, Georgia, is a historic site that offers a blend of history and nature. It is known for being the best-preserved Confederate earthwork fortification from the American Civil War. The park features a Civil War Museum and various recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and picnicking. I stayed at the backcountry/hike-in site 1 on April 22nd. Arrived after the park office had closed but it was pretty easy to figure out where I was going from the reservation packet they had left to the left of the entrance. No information about where to park for hike-in sites. The hike was short but nice. The right-hand trail of the loop (the shortest way to site 1) is closed but it still took less than 20 minutes to get to the site. Site is pretty small with no fire ring and it is right next to the “lookout platform” (kinda disappointing- it’s only about 7 or 8 feet off of the ground) so if anyone wants to go there they will be traipsing through your campsite. But the hike in sites are far away from the main campground so not sure that many people would be interested (no one came through my site in the 12 hours or so I was there). The location is nice, right at the edge of a wetland area with a small waterway right in front of the lookout center, but the bugs are relentless. The no see ums were so bad I could not enjoy my dinner on the lookout platform like I had hoped, and the campground rules state that you are not allowed to have a fire unless it is in a designated ring so I spent 99% of my time there in my tent hiding from the bugs. Maybe it was just the time of year, but I don’t think I would stay here again. Also, they charge you a parking/access fee and I think that’s pretty crap to be charged for that when you are already paying for camping.

The guest services were kind and helpful. The self guided tour was perfect. It was very discriptive and informative. You could go through at your own pace. The entire place was beautiful and tranquil. If you listened closely as the wind blew through the trees and the palm fronds, you might hear the voices of long ago soldiers as the prepared for and fought battles. This is somewhere I would definitely return to in the future.

A good experience with plenty of knowledge to learn about the fort and area surrounding! Hiking trails were a bit flooded from the recent rain but still plenty to explore besides them. The places they let your explore are spooky but awesome to see! Very Well maintained!

Fantastic option for those exploring Savannah and local wildlife! Gorgeous park with lots of wildlife and places to walk. The cabins are truly impressive (sorry, I totally didnt take a photo)! No wifi, so plan for that.

Beautiful park. Stayed 2 nights and will be back. Large sites with water and hydro. Some sites with sewer. Varied wildlife wider the park. Saw many deer, armadillo, owls raccoons. Reasonable prices and nice quiet park. Trails, boats ramps. Small gift shop on site. Dump station, comfort stations. Highly recommend this gem!

We love this campground. The sites are shady, the atmosphere is awesome and the wildlife experience is second to none. The deer and raccoons visited our site every night. They would literally creep up within 10 or 15 feet of us in hopes we had food.

Tricentennial Park is a captivating destination in West Savannah, managed by the Coastal Heritage Society, that brings together history and family fun. This remarkable complex features three engaging museums: the Savannah History Museum, which showcases fascinating artifacts; the Georgia State Railroad Museum, home to the last antebellum railroad in America; and the interactive Savannah Children's Museum designed for young explorers. Visitors can also pay their respects at Battlefield Memorial Park, dedicated to soldiers from one of the American Revolution's bloodiest battles.
Green space memorializing the lives lost at the Battle of Savannah from the Revolutionary War. Explore a reconstruction of a redoubt & let the kids get some energy out before entering the railroad or children’s museum.

Not a lot here, but we did find some free parking. The children's museum and railroad museum next door should stay open a bit longer, closing at 3 is a bit ridiculous.

Bonaventure Cemetery, immortalized in the best-selling "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" novel, is a serene and beautiful cemetery located just east of the Historic District. Established in 1846, this Southern Gothic garden spans over 160 acres on a bluff above the Wilmington River. The cemetery's landscape is a mix of natural beauty and sculptural artistry, with tree-lined roads adding to its unique charm.
This is hands down the most beautiful cemetery I've ever been to. Might seem like a strange thing to go to on vacation but this was my favorite tourist spot. It was just so beautiful. I could have walked another hour here except I was the center of the buffet. The mosquitos are horrendous so bathe in bug spray before you come! I was sure if I was supposed to drive through the gates and park inside or what. But just drive in, stay to the right and drive and then drive straight. If you go to the end, there's a large parking lot by the water. We actually parking in a small area halfway. I saw a golf cart at the lot by the water that gives tours. That would have been a great idea but I was enjoying walking.
Justine V — Google review
Walks through old cemeteries are always quietly thought provoking and Bonaventure is no exception. Its uniquely southern semitropical environment gives it a very different feeling, moodier than most even in the blazing hot mid morning sun of August. Beautiful stonework throughout with often poignant inscriptions and dates of historical significance. Fewer statuary than I expected but still several really pretty but weathered examples. This cemetery is well worth a visit though I’d opt for going without the ever talking guides.

Beautiful cemetery! Duration: 1 hour Parking: free (I recommend just parking at the entrance and roaming) There is really no need for a paid tour guide. Simply ask your AI if choice to give you a tour of the major points of interest.

Bonaventure Cemetery is the most beautiful and unusual cemetery I’ve ever seen. The huge oak trees draped in moss give it such a mysterious atmosphere… so many beautiful sculptures… so peaceful and timeless.

I don’t know what I was expecting, we came to visit because my mother-in-law really wanted to go. I think I could’ve spent all day here, in fact we plan to come back and take a guided tour. You walk through and want to know more about the people buried here. The graves and families entombed here are incredibly thought-provoking. Lots of tragic history mixed with the Gothic southern surroundings. It’s an incredible place, I’d highly recommend doing a guided tour to get the most out of it. They even had a Revolutionary War soldier and of course the famous “Little Gracie”.

Beautiful cemetery with a lot of history. Great place to walk around and get some exercise here. You can donate a few bucks and they will give you a map. Very nice in the summertime
Nick W — Google review
This historic cemetery still has active burials occuring within its bucolic and gently rolling terrain, amidst many old, beautiful and diverse trees and shrubs. The depth of history here goes back to colonial times with many different types of monuments, mausoleums and gravestones present. Some of the property borders the waterfront making for a diverse experience overall. Quietly walking these hallowed grounds is both solemn and touching.
Wind S — Google review
As cemeteries go, this one is quite unique and visually interesting to see! Pictures don’t quite do it justice. Free to visit. I recommend driving inside and finding a spot to park and walking around for a bit. Then you can get back in your car and drive through the rest. Some very old graves here going back to the 1800s if not 1700s. A great variety in the various headstones and monuments and tombs, etc., and all the magnolia trees and Spanish moss just give it a very unique atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Nestled along the picturesque Savannah River, Old Fort Jackson stands as Georgia's oldest brick fortification and a remarkable piece of American history. This National Historic Landmark is one of only eight remaining Second System forts in the United States, originally constructed to safeguard the city during pivotal moments like the War of 1812 and later serving as a strategic base during the Civil War.
A really well curated fort with more interesting history to explore. This state-owned fort is definitely worth the visit. We self toured but saw some others getting guided tours. We did spend some time with a very friendly and super knowledgeable female employee that gave us a great presentation and answered a ton of questions. It's located on the Savannah River in a beautiful scenic location. I actually enjoyed this fort more than nearby Fort Pulaski.
Bryan W — Google review
Definitely worth visiting this old fort near the Savannah port. We most enjoyed the musket demonstration where the soldier explained how the guns, bullets, and bayonets were used in battles and skirmishes. His demonstration of how to quickly load and fire 3 rounds in about 1 minute was wonderful. We enjoyed the artifacts and displays along with walking around and exploring the fort. There’s a small fee to get in but well worth it. History buffs will love this place! Not a history buff? This fort is a great place to learn about why the US built forts in post-revolution history and the role they served through the late 1800s.

Must go and enjoy. Preferred when it's cooler months! The curator was absolutely amazing! The gift shop was overly fair priced... And if you're a history nut, it doesn't matter what the weather is.

What an amazing visit we had!! The location is beautiful, old fort Jackson sits on the Savannah river. You will meet the most friendly, informative staff. They will tell you so much information that time will pass quickly as you take it in, you may even want to go back to learn more soon! They have demonstrations of weapon firings and cannon firings. It is a real treat to witness, they provide ear and eye safety for all visitors. You may be lucky enough to see the riverboat cruising from here! If you've done that cruise it is so cool to see it from a new angle. If not, the riverboat is beautiful on its own and an added visual perk. For bird watchers we saw American Eagles and Terns during our visit. When you arrive, slow down and take in this wonderful site slowly. It is not a large fort, to me that is what made it so special. Thank you to everyone who works hard to keep these historic sites alive for generations to experience. To the 2 soldiers at the fort today you knocked it out of the park!

So much fun! Our guide through history was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and fun! This is a great and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon. Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is a vast 29,000-acre area that offers a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore the refuge through a 4-mile wildlife drive, hiking and biking trails. The refuge is home to diverse wildlife and provides opportunities for up-close encounters with nature. With its scenic woodland and marshland, it's an ideal spot for picnics, canoe rides, and birdwatching.
This is an awesome place to see wild alligators and have a chance to get close to them (safely!) We saw lots of gators and one of them just happened to be right there outside our window. They were very chill. Also saw lots of birds, turtles, and water snakes possibly. Super cool experience. And it’s a self guided driving tour which you can take your time to see everything at ease. I really love this place!

My husband and I spent about 3 hours here both at the center and the drive through. It was so nice to be able to drive through, get out and walk around, take pictures and really take in and enjoy the nature. Beautiful landscapes and birds to see. Spotted a few alligators as well! Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and people looking for budget friendly activities while also getting to learn about nature preservation efforts in the area.

Amazing. Even first week of November we saw five crocodiles… you have to walk or drive at three KM per hour and look out for them on the banks or swimming. We went between 10 and 11 o’clock when it was hot enough for them to sunbathe… also amazing for birds!

First time visit and truly is a beautiful scenic drive. You are met at the entrance by a larger than life oak tree covered in Spanish Moss - they say if you listen close enough you can hear a radio playing an Elvis song. Something magical about this place. Highly recommend visiting!

Just a beautiful drive on a 65-degree day in October 2025. Nature trails, beautiful scenery, alligators, plenty of birds. I spent about 2 hours 45 minutes driving through, with plenty of places to pull over and a couple of small walks.

We saw so many alligators on the public wildlife drive that's down the road from the visitor center. The children and I had so much fun. There is one outdoor restroom on the wildlife drive. Saved me when my little ones needed to potty after too much liquid on our drive. There were and are bugs, of course, so be prepared for that. As well as stay alert for other wildlife but overall it was a great day trip.

We live visiting! So many birds and gators!! Being your binoculars. There's plenty of room for you to go slow and observe (you can pull to the side to let others pass you if needed). Some people rush through, but you see so much more if you take your time and really look!

This is one of my favorite places to go birding. There’s a large number of wild animals, and you can see many of them from your car. Beautiful square at night. The statue in the middle is in honor of Casimir Pulaski. The Father of American Calvary. He was a real American Hero who fought for our independence. He was born in Warsaw Poland and dies in the siege of Savannah on October 9th, 1779. Shout to Casimir.

So pretty I walked around this square in what felt like a quintessential Savannah moment. It was at dusk, with a light rain and fog. The street lights were a beautiful warm natural color, so the wet streets and the spanish moss with the historic buildings gave it a magical feeling. Very memorable and beautiful.

A small square designed in 1847 to honor the 1846 battle of Monterey during the Mexican American War. However, the monument in the middle was erected in honor of General Pulaski who was killed in battle nearby. I have included pictures of the surrounding residential and commercial buildings. Also included is the Mickve Israel Temple (built in 1878), home to one of the oldest congregations practicing Reform Judaism in the United States.

Beautiful house full of history the 30 minute tour only takes you through the 1st floor because the family still lives on the upper floor of the home. The Georgia State Railroad Museum is a must-visit for train enthusiasts and families with kids who love locomotives. It's the largest antebellum railroad repair facility still in existence, offering beautifully restored antique locomotives, model trains, and a working roundhouse and repair shop. Visitors can tour luxurious presidential cars, ride vintage steam and diesel locomotives, and even operate a handcar.
I have always enjoyed coming here and love hearing about the history of this particular Railroad Station and seeing the restoration that continues to take place. This time, I was able to share it with my husband and not 30 students (former educator who loved bringing her students to the Georgia State Railroad Museum). We ended up on a semi private tour of the facility and were able to walk the steps of those who had gone before us and see what remains (and is being restored). Our guide was amazing and gave us lots to talk about. Looking forward to our next visit!

We were a little surprised at how small and dilapidated this museum is being that it’s the Georgia State Museum. With that said, it’s still a place to see a few locomotives, rail cars and passenger cars. There is a blacksmith shop and the machine shop to view. We walked the entire ground, seeing everything too to bottom and were done in about 30 minutes… We try to see all state train museums and we’ve been to more than 40 states, some are huge!! This is just ok. Probably pretty fun for younger kids.

I enjoyed learning about the history of the railroad system, and appreciated how well everything has been preserved over the years. I came at a time when there was no guided tours available, so I did not get the full story out of all of the exhibits. Also, most of this museum is outdoors which was an issue during my visit when it was extremely hot.

You need to do the guided tour to see anything interesting here. Its Mostly outside so beware the heat! The guided tour thing makes sense, but they don't have anything posted on the website about when the guided tours begin or even that they existed. The only guided tour the website mentions is the Train Ride. You need to do the Guided tour to: - See the inside of the Executive Rail Cars - To do the Handcar - To see the Steam Engine demonstration Most of the buildings are pretty empty sans a few old machines which are cool. They had a few neat locomotives. You can go in the cab of some of them. The architecture was cool to walk through!

The Georgia State railroad museum is a must-visit if you are in Savannah and have any interest in historical machinery and trains. Mason and the crew here was interesting and shared a significant amount of historical information about the site and the trains. Chartered in 1824, this historic 16.5 mile canal was completed in 1830, joining the Ogeechee and Savannah Rivers to expedite the movement of goods. From the 1840's to the 1860's, the canal prospered and became an important element of the South Georgia economy. Mother Nature was always one of its biggest obstacles, causing the parent company to go bankrupt from the constant repair expenses caused by deterioration and inclement weather conditions. By 1876, weather once again caused serious problems by damaging the structures and canal banks. In addition, a yellow fever epidemic fatally inflicted more than 1,000 individuals working with the canal. By the early 1890s, the railroad had grown and controlled much of the movement of goods forcing the canal to cease operations. The museum at Lock 5 displays the history of the canal and of the local area. Keeping the canal presentable to the public is a continuing labor of love. Again, the museum has been damaged from flooding, and is currently under renovation. However, the outside displays, the portion of Lock 5 and the trails are still accessible and worth the visit. What a wonderful place. The lady that runs it is so friendly and helpful. This is a nature rich trail. There is a lot of wildlife and birds. The boardwalks are whimsical and inviting, it seemed like as one ended another would be welcoming you from off in the distance. The end view of the river was peaceful and there's a nice place to rest. Use bug spray before going, take water and a light snack if you're going to take your time reading the educational plaques with plant names and information. This is a beautiful chunk of preserved land with a lot of history, it is a treasure to be able to enjoy!

This place offers a lot of walking trails. We enjoyed the trail, which takes you along a swamp area to the head of the river. We saw quite a few critters hanging around, including a snake, lizards, frogs, and a turtle. The sand hill trail is fairly flat and offers views of forested areas. If you are looking to get in a hike, this is an easy alternative. Nice place!
Dennis B — Google review
Admission fee was fairly priced to get in. The trails were easy to walk and it was neat to walk on the trail closest to the canal and see it. Saw some wildlife, but not much. A boardwalk that connects the end of two of the trails were closed because they needed to be repaired, not a huge deal though because there is another part that connects the trails not to far back down the trails.

We decided to go with this location after seeing the reviews on the app "All trails". Great place to get out in nature and enjoy the walk up to the Ogeechee River. Rates were $5.00 per person. They do have discounted rates for military and seniors. I would rate it as easy and also per friendly. Benches along the trail just incase you want to stop and rest or sit by the river to enjoy the peacefulness of nature.

What an awesome place to hike. I was looking for an easy trail since its been years since I hiked and I've been wanting to get back into it. The place is definitely a gem as its got some beautiful views. The trails were easy to follow and the more wooded trails were marked well. The park I learned, is a privately owned historical spot. There is an old canal that doesn't seem big enough to move supplies. Interesting how things change. Lots of beautiful flowers, birds and sights. Got to witness a dragon fly swoop in and grab his lunch mid air. Thank you for the much needed moment of peace. God bless!!

The Forsyth Park Fountain is a stunning centerpiece that has become an iconic symbol of Savannah since its creation in the 1850s. Designed by William Hodgson, this elegant fountain draws inspiration from Paris's Place de la Concorde and serves as a delightful gathering spot for both locals and visitors alike. Nestled within the expansive Forsyth Park, it offers picturesque views perfect for capturing those Instagram-worthy moments, especially during early mornings or golden hour when the light is just right.
Forsyth is probably the best living illustration of the beauty of an eccentric old deep South green space. It's little gritty, and mysteriously dark at night. And absolutely gorgeous by day. Steeped in history, you need to see it both day and night.

Beautiful Experience. We were at the road exploring nearby attractions. And found this gem. Forsyth Park is the crown jewel of Savannah—a lush, 30-acre green space that perfectly captures the city’s historic charm and laid-back Southern vibe. Anchored by the stunning Forsyth Fountain, this park is shaded by towering oak trees draped in Spanish moss and offers a peaceful escape just steps from the hustle of downtown. Whether you’re out for a walk, letting kids burn energy on the playground, or browsing the local goods at the Saturday farmers’ market, there’s something for everyone. The paths are wide and stroller-friendly, and there’s even a charming café, The Collins Quarter, right in the park. It’s a favorite among both locals and visitors—and for good reason. Early mornings are especially magical, when the park is quieter and the light filters beautifully through the trees. If you’re in Savannah, Forsyth Park is an absolute must-visit.

We wish we would have researched our walk through the park a little better. Was sad to see the fountain was "out" being renovated. Reading the history on it was nice, though. The park, the trees , and the monuments were all amazing. It was hot hot hot. I recommend early or late in the day. We parked on Gaston. Pay meter. Bring quarters. ( We probably could have parked closer. )

If you come to Savannah, Georgia, Forsyth Park is a most see. Beautiful parks with older trees, a garden, and a fountain in the middle. Great place to enjoy an afternoon walk and is dog friendly.

Beautiful day, Hot. Unfortunately fountain being renovated, so no water. Beautiful park and we'll visited by families, couples etc. Local artisans selling their wares too.

I’m only giving this a one star review because the fountain is currently disassembled and being transported to Alabama for restoration. My wife and I got here today and read that it was disassembled last week. Very disappointed as this is a staple of the city. This park is a 5 star area hands down.

Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia, is a true gem nestled in the historic district, just outside the bustling downtown area. My wife and I visited on a Sunday morning in August 2024 and were delighted by the ample street parking and angled lots around the park, all of which were free. This made it an excellent choice for an early morning weekend outing. Arriving early allowed us to enjoy the park without the usual daytime crowds, making for a peaceful and enjoyable walk. The fountain at Forsyth Park is nothing short of stunning. Its large, beautiful structure, adorned with gorgeous white statues, stands out as a centerpiece. The cleanliness and maintenance of the park were impressive, with meticulously organized paths, garbage-free walkways, and gleaming statues. The experience of walking through the park was enhanced by the overarching trees draped with moss, creating a picturesque and serene atmosphere. The park is also flanked by beautiful row houses, adding to its charm. We had the chance to meet some friendly locals and fellow visitors, making our visit even more enjoyable. Forsyth Park is an excellent spot for an early morning walk, providing a perfect blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and a welcoming community. My wife and I enjoyed our time here so much that we plan to return before our trip ends. If you're visiting Savannah, a morning visit to Forsyth Park is a must!

One of the original squares established in 1742. It is absent statues, monuments and memorials, but has many benches and large trees and the surrounding area consists of both residential and commercial. One of the Trustee lots is the Owens-Thomas house, an English Regency-style house museum, built in 1819,

We had the best time . It’s a great way to see the whole area and the ability to stop and get off when you want to. Deion was a great host . He was very funny and kept it entertaining for the crowd. We also had another driver and I can’t remember his name but he was also great. Was very upbeat and was singing to the crowd. They were both amazing. Definitely do this tour if in Savannah. You won’t regret it.

I recommend the Prohibition Museum and Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. So fun seeing the Forest Gump filming spot. We would love to live in Savannah one day! 5/5 recommend especially if this is your first visit to the city. Trolleys arrive to each stop quickly - we didn’t wait too long at all.

I honestly had no desire to do this tour because I thought it was a tourist trap. However, the person I was traveling with really wanted to do it, so we did. It was honestly such a great tour! You learn so much history about the city and the buildings. You can also hop on and hop off as much as you'd like, which made it super convenient. We hopped on and off a lot so we had a lot of different drivers and all of them were amazing! If you're in Savannah, I definitely recommend doing this tour!

We took the Old Town Trolley Tour 8 years ago. We liked it so much that we decided to take it again. We had a fantastic time from 11AM to 5:30PM. We had three different drivers on 10/10/25. Ellis was our favorite as he provided us with a comprehensive, congenial history of the city as we traveled to 16 stops in 90+ minutes. He also recommended an excellent place for lunch, which we enjoyed. We also ate dinner there. We had perfect weather - sunny and cloudy, and no rain. It was cool as we rode from stop to stop. We went to every stop, and when it started over again, we got off at stop 10 to eat and shop. We walked to stop 11 and got on again. This time we got off at the Riverwalk. We shopped, and got back on, riding to stop 9 where our car was parked at the visitor center. There are two tours: 75 minute historical tour in an enclosed white bus and a 90 minute tour in an open air yellow bus with individual & different commentary by the driver you have. We have not tried the first one. We like being able to get on and off, and listening to different drivers' perspectives. The staff at each of the visitor centers housing the tour are friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us coupons with our map. Unfortunately we forgot to use them when we visited and shopped at five of the locations! Maybe you'll be more aware and remember to use them after your tour!

Nestled just outside the historic district of Savannah, Mother Matilda Beasley Park is a charming tribute to Georgia's first African-American nun, Mother Matilda Beasley. Established in 1887 as the founder of the St. Francis Home for Colored Orphans, her legacy lives on in this community park located on East Broad Street.
Has a dog park and a large field. My dog loved this park.
Gayla H — Google review
Pretty run-down park in an area that appears to have seen better days. There was a homeless encampment set up near the children's play equipment, which didn't inspire us to stay and play for a long time. Equipment itself was old and very dirty, and the park itself did not seem well maintained. Trash and debris were everywhere. Forsyth has a much nicer and better maintained playground for kiddos.

Alot of homeless with their dogs, which is always sort of sad. Not too many people there with well behaved dogs, lots of small barking ones trying g to pick a fight with my Dobie......decent park, my boy was just as happy to walk around the city than be there.

Chatham Square, located on Barnard Street between Taylor and Gordon Streets, is a historic neighborhood green in Savannah. Designed in 1847 and named after William Pitt, the Earl of Chatham, this square features ancient oak trees, benches, and popular spots for photos and weddings. It is home to Gordon Row, a collection of 15 four-storied townhouses with identical architecture.
Chatham Square is a charming oasis in Savannah's historic district. This small, peaceful park offers a glimpse into the city's rich history and beautiful architecture. Surrounded by stunning 19th-century homes and towering oak trees draped in Spanish moss, it's a perfect spot for a quiet moment or a picnic. The centerpiece bronze sundial adds a touch of character. While not as famous as some of Savannah's other squares, Chatham Square's tranquil atmosphere and fewer crowds make it a hidden gem worth visiting. It's an ideal place to experience the authentic charm of Savannah away from the tourist hustle.

This is one of the most BEAUTIFUL Squares in ALL of Savannah, and I recommend EVERY.SINGLE.PERSON. visit this spot at least once in their lifetime. If you are from the area, you may already be aware of this magical square. If you are visiting Savannah, this is such a special spot. The BEST times, during the day, is early in the morning during sunrise and in the evening during sunset. The best times, during the year, to visit the Square is April-June & late August - mid-October. At sunrise, go to the Gazebo and sit facing East... As the sun comes up, the rays start to bounce off the glass and gold around the city, and it shines all around you. The light glitters and shines, making it impossible for you to NOT start your day with a smile. In the evenings, as the sun goes down and the gazebo is starting to become shaded (in the summer), the fireflies will start to dance. They flutter all through the flowers and bushes surrounding the area, joining the butterflies that are always there. The rays of sunlight start to bounce off the glass and gold again. All together, it makes you feel as if you are experiencing a moment of true fairytale magic. (whether fairytale magic is real or not, you'll definitely feel like it is in that moment) And You won't be disappointed.❤️

The Old Sorrel-Weed House Museum & Tours is a stunning Greek Revival mansion and museum located in Savannah, Georgia. It was built in the 1800s by renowned architect Charles B. Cluskey for Francis Sorrel, a prominent commission merchant from the West Indies. This historic landmark showcases exquisite Greek Revival and Regency Style architecture and has been designated as a state landmark since 1953. Over the years, it has welcomed notable visitors like General Robert E.
Amanda was a really cool guide. She knew alot of stuff, including which areas are most haunted. I did catch a thermal heat signature in the men’s parlor, but missed out on recording it. There were some huge temperature spikes.

Wanted to do the ghost tours for a long time. Wife and I came for a weekend trip she planned and decided to do a tour. We booked the Sorrel-Weed tour because we wanted to see the house as much as hearing the ghost tales, plus it was walking distance from where we were staying. Our original booking was changed to another slot for some reason but it worked out for us so no worries. There were about 12 other people on the tour. A little crowded but not bad. Our tour guide, Luna, was great; genuine and invested in the history, including her own stories. Wasn't the over the top acting we witnessed walking around the outside with other tour groups. Disappointed that the upstairs was not ready for touring but gives us something to come back to. The staging of the house was nice and darkened for atmosphere, of course. Wife had an auditory experience that I did not hear. Will mark this for a repeat trip. Well worth making it something to do on a night out.

My husband and I went on the tour on July 1st. It was a great ghost/historical tour! I took several pictures out the window to the garden. If you look at the pictures in order you will notice a lady walking in the garden! She looks like she has a ponytail and wearing a blue and white dress. I took the pictures with live on so I can actually see her walking!!!

What a wonderful yet spooky experience!! Nora was the best tour guide! She was thorough with explaining the history and I liked how she gave the possible theories that are rumored to be the explanations of how things happened. Ny son has been researching this place for months he was so excited. Nora answered any questions that came up. She even offered to send a link to any creepy footage any guests encountered while on the tour. I will say....the hooded man's breezeway.....my son didnt see him in the breezeway but he did see him in the first floor foyer! It was funny to see the outside walking tours as we were walking up the steps to start the tour and the guides were saying "This is the Sorrel house, and look those are braver souls than I". She also goves you some extra time on each floor to explor a bit and take photos, no flash to preserve the arsuch of course. Highly recommend!!

Great place if you love historical events and hauntings. I have been a paranormal investigator for 25 years and this place is haunted. But I was overcharged from the original fee and wasn't told half the house is being renovated. I putting up the ghost pictures.

Came here for a dark history/ghost tour which unfortunately was quite underwhelming. Our guide was friendly, but I was hoping the tour would be more historic. I missed the good storytelling and historic facts, it felt more like a sleepover in middle school were you try to tell each other scary stories. I assume the historic tour of the house would havr been a better choice

Colonial Park Cemetery, established in 1750, has been the final resting place for Savannah's earliest settlers and prominent figures. The cemetery holds historical significance as it houses the interments of victims from the city's yellow fever epidemic and is rumored to have been altered by Union Army soldiers during the Civil War. Despite falling into disuse in 1850, it still remains a significant site with famous burials such as Declaration of Independence signer Button Gwinnett.
Nice little historic cemetery in the middle of town. Street parking is available nearby, but it's probably more of a place you go when you're walking around anyway, rather than a destination, unless you are on a guided tour. I appreciated the plaques that provide information on some of the graves.

Colonial Park Cemetery is one of the most fascinating places I visited in Savannah! During the day, it’s a peaceful and historic site that gives you a deep sense of the city’s past — the old tombstones and moss-covered trees create a quiet, reflective atmosphere. But at night, it transforms into something else entirely! I did a haunted walking tour that included the cemetery, and it was such a thrilling experience. The stories, the legends, and the eerie atmosphere after dark made it unforgettable. You can really feel the history (and maybe a few ghosts 👻) around every corner. Highly recommended if you enjoy history, mystery, and a little bit of spooky fun!
Thiago F — Google review
I was actually disappointed at the state of this cemetery. The grounds are well taken care of as far as the grass, but the graves are in major disrepair and you can't read a lot of them. And it seemed actually pretty barren as far as the headstones. I'm assuming some have been removed, moved, etc. I also didn't like how you could only exit out of two places even though there are obvious places fates used to be open in the past. Maybe this is a place better to visit at dusk or night to get the full effect but still be respectful.
Abigail L — Google review
We met our ghost tour guide at the entrance with the eagle. Sadly we didn't get a tour of the cemetery. I wish we had. We did get there a few minutes early and was able to walk through part of it. Very old headstones. Some faded from over a 150 years of time and the elements and who knows what else. 👻 Next time in Savannah we will get the tour.

The Savannah History Museum is housed in a 19th-century railway shed and showcases the city's local history, including military, industry, art, and culture. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring cultural artifacts such as clothing, military items, and agricultural history. The museum provides insights into Savannah's experience during the Civil War and its genealogical makeup. Group tours are available with staff dressed in historical outfits.
I took my son in late January and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide, Patrick, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We really appreciated the time he took to discuss the diorama for the Revolutionary War battle that took place on the site of the present day museum. I would recommend the museum to anyone looking for a rainy day activity or if you want to learn more about the rich history of Savannah.

There were so many informative displays and even a film being shown in a theater. We learned so much in one visit. The staff were wonderful and took time to fully answer any questions we had. I didn't know the park bench from the Forest Gump movie was here.
Roy W — Google review
My husband loves history and so do I so when we visited Savannah we definitely wanted to make sure we visited this museum. There was a man dress as a soldier who was extremely informative of the war and everything that happened with the history of Savannah as well as a theater set up with a movie to watch about the history as well. The museum is handicap accessible, which is really nice.

Novel museum ! They have the actual bench from the Forest Gump movie. Also, they have a great section on Julia Gordon Lowe. You can cover the museum in about 45 minutes to an hour. Great local history information.

Nice museum in an old transportation center. Well laid out exhibits. Like a walk through the centuries, with explanations, all self guided. Lovely extra exhibit room on Girl Scouts history. Also a Jazz exhibit. Not sure if that was permanent. All non profit, so we did not mind paying to get in.
Sunny S — Google review
This museum provides a good overview of the history of Savannah, from pre-Columbian times through the Jazz era. It helps you get your bearings and appreciate local attractions. Interactive exhibits for the kids. Nice gift shop as well. Parking at the visitor center. Location of the actual Forest Gump park bench.
LR P — Google review
Lots of history located inside including a jazz history section and a historical movie playing. The entrance was a bit confusing as it’s just the back of the visitors center and leads into the visitors center where there are three gift shops, one in the history museum, one in the visitors center, and one in between.

Grayson Stadium, a circa-1926 4,000-seat baseball stadium, is the home of the Savannah Bananas minor league team. The stadium has a rich history and has hosted legendary players like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Ty Cobb and Jackie Robinson during Minor League exhibitions. It's a great place to take the family for an enjoyable summer pastime. Even if you're not into baseball, the lively atmosphere with music and dancing makes it entertaining for everyone.
The Savannah Bananas put on quite a show! It was lots of fun! There were lots of concession stands. The hamburgers were adequate. The popcorn and pretzels are good. The fountain drinks are generous. Having the food be included in the price is so convenient! When you go for your food stock up as it's hard to get in and out if you aren't on an aisle seat. People go very early and parking can be tricky.

We had great fun! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure the experience was the best thing ever. It was so hot, make sure you bring sunscreen and drink lots of water if you're there for a day game like we were!

Absolutely gorgeous old school baseball stadium. Came here for the Savannah Bananas Team Store and then checked out the field. Such a cool experience, nice to see how they keep it modern yet has those 'golden era' touches to a baseball field. The team store itself is small and may be limited to your size but it's cool it's open for fans to come by and purchase items, the staff was super friendly and chill. Overall great experience!

I had the pleasure of enjoying a Savannah Bananas game for my birthday. I got my tickets after market but the event is fun for all ages & with all it included it's a good price even after market. Their games are very crowd interactive & even in this GA heat when the sun starts to go down it's very nice. I recommend coming early both for parking & concessions before the game. The staff is all super nice & helpful. There's several food & drink options burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks ( water, soda, beer) all included with your ticket. I highly recommend enjoying a day at the park!

Nestled just south of Savannah, the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo Farm spans 51 acres and offers a diverse array of attractions. Originally established in the late 19th century with Japanese timber bamboo, this horticultural gem now features a 4-acre bamboo maze, children's garden, and seasonal formal and shade gardens showcasing iris, daffodils, and camellias.
Botanical Gardens are something we enjoy and Coastal Georgia gardens is great! We came for a trip to Tybee, and decided to visit. The grounds are beautifully kept and the walking trails wind through an expansive grounds, dotted with park benches and gazebos to sit among the quiet of the trees and flowers. There is a cool bamboo maze, and the main house has clean, well kept bathrooms and a great gift shop!

Wow...where to even begin. We had our wedding at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens and Bamboo Farm. We had to put this together in just a few short months due to my mother's declining health. When I called to get everything scheduled, I met the most wonderful and professional coordinator, Kahlita. She assisted us beyond words can express. She helped us with vendors and found the perfect date. She was attentive and went above anything I could ever ask in someone to help us. Once time came closer, I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Greene. He already knew the floor plan we had drafted before we even met with him. You can tell that they have been doing this for a long time and were very experienced! We noticed other office staff assisting with the venue set up along with security services. They are a very cohesive team, and they will do anything to not only help you- but help each other. The venue was just so beautiful. It was truly extraordinary. The gardens created a peaceful place for us and our guests. We held our ceremony in a courtyard under white arches with wisteria vines and a lake behind us. Our aisle was a brick path way through maze hedges leading through perfect green grass. It created a breathtaking first view of my new husband. We had our reception inside that comfortably sat all of our guests. We were provided all of the tables and chairs that we needed. We had ample room for our first dance and family speeches. Not to mention, there was even a large covered patio to have a whole dance floor and bar services! I highly recommend Alana with AB Mobile Bar Services, who was recommended by the venue. Alana assisted with so much more than bar services. She connected with our guests (and even decorated their set up with our theme and colors). There was more room and space that created a journey for everyone attending. Throughout the night, Kahlita and the staff made sure we had everything, and they made our day so seamless. I never felt pressured or stressed with them by my side. Thank you so much for everything you did for us. You gave us the most beautiful wedding we could have ever dreamed of. It far exceeded any expectation. We love you with all of our heart and soul. You created the foundation of our marriage by giving us this day ❤️

Savannah is too full of history, beautiful parks, squares, plaques, monuments and restored, historic homes. I admit that I had never heard of Sgt. With an impressive selection covering Georgia and Southern history, poetry, photography, travel, and more, it’s a haven for readers of all interests.
Books from floor to ceiling literally. An amazing collection and really kind sellers. It might be hard to navigate If you are in a wheelchair or otherwise abled because the isles are narrow. No public bathrooms and no romance section (as far as I could tell). Lots of local history books and a great atmosphere.

I really enjoyed exploring the gardens, it looks like there needs to be some work done on it. Also, the house was not open when I went in the middle of the day on a weekday. This was significantly smaller and less impressive than I was expecting. Nothing was in bloom. The cruises depart from River Street, allowing you to enjoy refreshing river breezes and stunning views of the city. In addition to sightseeing cruises, they also offer dining experiences including luncheon, brunch, dinner entertainment, sunset, and gospel dinner cruises.
We enjoyed going on the sunset cruise and truly had a wonderful time! The views along the Savannah River were breathtaking, especially as the sun dipped below the city skyline. The atmosphere was peaceful and inviting, the staff was incredibly friendly, and everything was smoothly run. It was a perfect way to wrap up a beautiful day in Savannah, definitely something I would recommend to everyone!

My husband and I did an afternoon riverboat cruise with our 9 month old. It was a lot of fun, very relaxing way to just take a break from exploring on foot and spend 90 minutes learning more about the area and the river. The boat is really cool and feels like a novelty to be on. We got a couple of drinks that weren't anything special but they were strong, so can’t complain. The guide over the speaker was nice and informative, definitely entertaining. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and helpful, everyone was in a good mood. We did have a stroller with us so we were able to make it to the 3rd floor only by elevator, the top deck was pretty inaccessible unless we took everything out and folded it up to carry it. So I’d say the top deck isn’t very accessible for wheelchairs or families with strollers, just something to think about. The photos taken were a sweet and easy souvenir! I’d say you have to do this at least once!

We had such an awesome experience on the Riverboat Cruize. Such a fun way to relax and learn about the area and even some fun facts about the boat itself. We went on the scenic cruise so I can't speak for the food other than their drinks and ice cream, both of which we really enjoyed. If you are visiting Savannah I highly recommend doing this. We also coupled this with the Trolley tour and learned so much about the area between the 2 different experiences.

This is a must experience while in Savannah. I enjoyed the 330 cruise. Capt Z gives a great narration of the surrounding buildings and history. Capt Z is an absolute delight to listen to. It was a ninety minute cruise. You can purchase food, alcoholic beverages, ice cream, etc. You can walk around the ship during the cruise and enjoy the scenic views from the river. The third floor is air conditioned if you need to escape from the heat. There is plenty of seating. I included pictures for your reference.

Ah such a fun spot to play tourist! We did the dinner cruise and it was an experience! Fun band, decent food and the drink menu was pretty basic. Our Server, Radika, was such a sweetheart! We didn't know that they have different live music styles, so that would have maybe changed the night we went, but overall a must-do for a tourist! We do wish the website or table tent relayed information about the fact that gratuities were not included! We found that out after we ate so as industry people we were a little bummed! Got to take care of your people!
Ruthie P — Google review
I went in the sunset cruise with a large group. This was my first experience on a cruise because I get extremely motion sick in cars and on planes. Once I moved from inside of the third floor up to the open fourth floor my body regulated from seeing the open water and feeling the strong breeze blowing through my curls. I wasn’t motion sick any of the two hours and had an absolute blast. Between our large group and the other passengers being totally fun we all enjoyed dancing hard, laughing hard, chatting, and completely enjoying ourselves while making unforgettable memories. The views of Savannah at night from the river were beautiful. The sunset was absolutely perfect… The only negative was the food. It was overly seasoned and not the best. There looked to only be one cook for the entire boat. The food is a pass. Have dinner on the shore.

Beautiful square with a set of several relaxing benches and a fountain surrounded by a pool. The fountain is lit internally at night. Nice selection of Dogwood and Oak trees with exceptional residential architecture on one side. This is one of 23 Savannah squares existing today. Many others feature monuments and fountains.

Named in honor of General Andrew Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812, this Historic Square was established in 1815. Featured is the German Memorial Fountain, dedicated to Germany immigrants who played a significant role in the development of Savannah.

The Orleans Square is so beautiful and relaxing. I love the fountain and the squirrels are so cute.

When I visited Orleans Square in Savannah, it felt like a quiet, hidden spot in the middle of the city. The fountain in the center was gently flowing, and the big oak trees with Spanish moss made it really beautiful. I sat on a bench for a while, just enjoying the peaceful feeling and watching people walk by. The old houses around the square, like the Harper Fowlkes House, made it feel even more special. It was a nice, calm place to relax and enjoy Savannah’s charm

Orleans Square was one of our favorite squares in Savannah. We visited twenty-two squares while in town and found ourselves returning to Orleans. The square is a nice size, has benches, and a beautiful fountain in the center.

I can't even tell you how beautiful the 22 squares are in Savannah. Orleans was one of my favorites with the big fountain and incredible Spanish moss! It was the best afternoon ever walking through all the squares!

Ellis Square is a vibrant urban space in Savannah, featuring fountains with shooting water that are perfect for kids to play in. The square also offers picnic tables and a life-sized chess set for visitors to enjoy. Local artists often perform impromptu shows here, adding to the lively atmosphere. The Splash Fountains in Ellis Square are particularly popular, providing free entertainment for children and photo opportunities as water spouts shoot up to 7 feet high.
Another great place! These girls were dancing while other people were just enjoying this beautiful area. I have had a great time exploring.

Aside from being one of the ugliest parks in the city, this square feels dangerous with beggars and addicts all day and drunks all night. Savannah might look nice but places like this remind you that the city is in a sorry state.

What to say about Wllis Square? Great square with visitor center, benches and in front of many restaurants and bars and shops. Good for great pictures and sitting around. City government isn't playing around, and they require masks! It's great!

We had a blast people-watching while the kids ran through the fountains! Bustling little area of the city...very different vibe than some of the older, gardened squares.

Nature & Parks
Lake Mayer Park is a picturesque lakeside park that offers various sports courts and fields for outdoor activities. Additionally, it provides opportunities for fishing and has picnic pavilions as well as a community center. While the lake itself is stunning, unfortunately, the trail surrounding it does not allow dogs. However, there is a separate grassy area designated specifically for dogs within the park. This scenic location serves as an ideal place to relax and engage in physical exercise.
A beautiful park with lake and a community centre. There are new pickleball courts which newly refurbished and open on 1 April 2025 onwards.
Eric C — Google review
This is a beautiful park with a lot to do. My kids love the playground. Tennis courts and a lake area. The park has a trash problem. Littering at a children's park is low, and others looking at it is almost as bad. Besides the trash the park is very pretty.
Tracy — Google review
I visit this park very often - weekly to be exact. There is a walking/running trail that surrounds the park area, giving beautiful panoramic views of the water and park area while you exercise. There are places designated along the walking/running path that prompt you to stretch, adding to your exercise experience. There are also building spaces you can rent for special gatherings and celebrations. I personally have attended a family gathering there. I often take my daughter (who skateboards) to enjoy the designated skating. It's a great place for her to connect and learn from other skaters. If you enjoy tennis or pickle ball, they have that too! Outside of day to day normal functions, this park hosts special events for the community as well. If you are looking for a nice family-friendly space, I highly recommend giving this park a try.

It is a beautiful place to unwind and get some exercise. During sundown it becomes like an enchanted fairytale with all the different colors, especially during fall when the trees display all of their beautiful shades. It is always clean and I've always felt safe there, no matter what time of the day
Carmelina * — Google review
The lake is beautiful but unfortunately the trail around the lake is not dogfriendly. A nice employee driving in a golf cart informed me of that, and told me where the dog area is. The dog section of the park is a nice grassy area. I was visiting in the area. It is disappointing that I can't walk the trail with my dogs even though I do respect their policy.
Tilly L — Google review
Always kept clean and neat. Never have I EVER seen trouble of any sort here. There's a skate park, tennis courts, go anywhere and fish, put a boat in , sail, play basketball., you name it. There's even an RC car racetrack that attracts people from all over the state. The 1.5 mile walking track around the lake is super nice and has little workout areas for inclined push-ups and pull-ups and stuff alond the way... I ride my Onewheel all over the place although I don't think they allow fast motorized vehicles cutting the place up... Always secure and well lit. The workers that I do see at Lake Mayer are ALWAYS super nice and polite and always speak. The park is clean and neat and always available for a big family outing... Highly recommended.

The Joseph Tribble Park is a green oasis in the heart of the city that offers residents and visitors a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy nature. The park is full of diverse trees and plants, as well as a playground, picnic areas, and a pond. It's also close to several shopping and dining establishments.
This is a beautiful pond with fun wildlife! My kids and I have seen whistling ducks, mallards, little blue herons, ahingas, geese and their goslings! The playground is small but great for kids. There are a few trails off the main area. My kids and I went on one our first trip here and we had fun on it. There are arrows and orange markers so you don't get lost. Such a beautiful area.

We stumbled across this park. Only one other vehicle was on the grounds. Beautiful view of the water. Quiet and clean. A few interesting trees. It would be awesome if there were to slow boon-docking for campers .

Good 0.8 mile path around a pond. Asphalt paved trail for jogging, walking,or hiking. Dog and stroller friendly. There are also restrooms on site. Not overly scenic. There are a myriad of low level wildflowers if you take the time to admire them.

Perfect peaceful park for morning/ Evening walk ......it is clean and sufficient parking space . It also has some activities for kids. so kid can also enjoy with parents. I felt it is a good place to eat your lunch and has a little park for kids to play. Loved the lake and ducks and so did my kids. I also have never seen a tiny library which I thought was cute and a neat idea. I took a few book for my road trip. Beware if allergic though, people can bring dogs to walk around.

A little gem in the Southside of Savannah! They have a walking trail and a bike trail. Took the kids to the walk around the pond and trail behind the trees. They loved feeding the ducks and geese. They ended off the day playing on the playground. Definitely recommend checking out.

L Scott Stell Park is a serene lakefront destination with a boat launch, walking trails, and covered picnic facilities. Despite the "no dogs" policy, many visitors bring their furry friends to enjoy the 2-mile paved loop. The park offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, making it an ideal spot for outdoor activities like i9 Sports.
Came for i9 Sports and they were absolutely wonderful! Their care and attentiveness for the kids, as well as the friendliness and comfortability shown by both the coaches our kids was absolutely endearing. Would recommend any parent with a child they want to get active to sign up for i9.

Pickleball/tennis/basketball players: there are new multi-million dollar covered and lighted courts in the middle of nowhere about 15 minutes from Berwick off Little Neck Road in this dilapidated park undergoing renovation. Playground and restrooms are closed. Roads need repaving. There is no signage but if you drive to the very back you will find a nice 1-mile walking trail around a lake. Pictures in prior reviews are outdated.
Steven R — Google review
This is one of my favorite places to escape the hustle and bustle of Savannah Georgia It is a quiet Park not often busy and it has a mile long walking loop. Unfortunately the loop itself isn't kind of rough shape. They installed beautiful beautiful lamp posts But now half of them don't work And around the lake the mile-long paved trail goes. But the problem with the pavement is all heaved and cracked. I often run there and ride my bike. I'll do several loops just to wear out my dog But I will admit it's very difficult to navigate 🙌 So here's a fantastic update I've talked to a young gentleman by the name of Elmo He works on the grounds And I really want to give him and his co-workers and boss a high five. Elmo has talked about his passion to keep the park clean and really cares about his position and the park I was so impressed when I talked to him the other day for quite a while with my sister and my mother and he really listened to our concerns about the lamp posts and the walking trail I've also noticed a great improvement the garbage is picked up now it's very tidy they just cut the grass on the other side where it's been closed for quite a while and it looks fantastic The park is really looking so much better I even asked who did all the edging because the sidewalks are being edged now and almost says that they are starting to do all of that He said the two buildings that they're putting up is for racquetball and tennis and one is for a basketball court I just want to thank the crew for doing such a great job and I hope the boss recognizes Elmo for his genuine care and outstanding work I know he works with his boss and some others and they all do a great job but I really appreciate it Elmo being so kind and taking the time to listen to our concerns and talk to us he represents the park in a very positive way

Once you get around the roundabout the road becomes full of potholes or very uneven spots. The playground is not only in the woods it's boarded up. (It was when i came a few months ago when i 1st moved into the area not sure if its still boarded up now because i was not about to walk into the woods to see). I haven't walked the trails so I can't say what they look like. There is a garden but I'm not sure why. There isn't a sign to say why it's there. This could easily be a nice park like the one in bloomingdale over by the warehouse but for unknown reason it's not.

Was there today for a walk on the trail. We were able to walk, but there's still renovations being done. It will be marvelous once completed

Wells Park is a beloved green space located in an inner-city area that has been undergoing gentrification. The park features various amenities such as playground equipment, a basketball court, benches, and open spaces for children to play. It holds historical significance as it has been serving as a park for over a century. Visitors appreciate the welcoming and encouraging atmosphere from the locals while enjoying activities like exercising or taking leisurely walks around the perimeter.
My friends and I have recently chosen this park for exercise or rather walk the perimeter.. we're not harassed by the locals while walking. We're actually encouraged to keep doing what we're doing! The park is clean and well maintained. Awesome!!

It has expanded so much since I was a kid. But it's still well maintained.

We traveled here for a 12u Baseball tournament this weekend. It is the worst complex we have ever been to, and we travel extensively for baseball. There is no pavilion, no shade, no concession, and only portable toilets. The toilets are up-wind from the fields so you are constantly smelling sewage during the games. It's a coastal wind so it never changes direction. There is absolutely no relief from the 90+ degree temperatures other than the sewage breeze. I do not recommend playing here.

A nice field to play soccer / football at. I dont think its exactly "public" but people jump the gate all the time to play if the gate is locked at that time, its no big deal. After it rains the soccer field is actually pretty awful puddles wise but its a nice field overall.

Love this beautiful little park. It’s well maintained and has a semi shady path around the pond with plenty of benches for breaks if you’re working on mobility. Large gazebo and 2 playgrounds. One for younger kids and one for the older kids. Catch and release fishing and a restroom.

This is a quiet, pretty park to sit and enjoy the water. Best part is, unlike just about ANY WHERE in Pooler, police don’t harass you and your kids just for being at the park or beyond your front door. Leaving my house after 6pm in Pooler is risky if I don’t want to be harassed, but this little hidden gem park is a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday. Has a nice walking trail as well. Bring bug repellent though!!!

Couple of water fountains for the dogs. The two fort buildings were build early in the 1900's. Soldiers were trained to load & unload cannons before World War 1. Not until 2004 was one building converted to a Garden for the Blind. Something blooms there year round. The 2nd build a cafe & public bathrooms. Great new playground equipment but the rest of the park needs attention- broken benches, vast muddy areas that need resod, needs trash cans. Lots of room to play or picnic even so, and nice quiet neighborhood without traffic so it's great to bring small kids

My kids loved to run around this park. It is clean! However there are no bathrooms which is tough when you have littles, my oldest ended up having an accident. The parking situation is also a bit strange, there is no parking lot or designated spaces. I also didn’t notice any awnings for shade. But heat wasn’t an issue when we went. I would give it a 5 star rating because of how fun the playground is and the basketball courts but the lack of bathrooms and parking keep it at a 5.
