Children's museum
Museums
Savannah Children's Museum, located in Tricentennial Park, offers a range of outdoor activities for children of all ages. Situated next to the Georgia State Railroad Museum, this outdoor museum features interactive exhibits and a life-size maze. Kids can enjoy arts and crafts, story time, water play, and an off-the-hook playground where they can climb, run, jump, and explore to their hearts' content.
This review is for a weekday visit with a 6 and 3yo boys. Overall had a great time at this very original concept for kids to play and engage in learning and fun activities. Place is easy to find and has a big, free parking lot. I think the pricing is fair and reasonable and a good value for the money. I paid $10 per person including myself the supervising adult. The Children’s Museum is all outside and so plan with the weather and check if they are open before you go. I thought the place is very safe and well payed out with variety or things to do that my boys enjoyed a lot. Some of the highlights for us were the giant building blocks, sand kitchen, story time and the garden lesson about oranges and tangerines. We spend about 4 hours there bouncing from one area to next, entertained constantly. We had packed a lunch to eat- there is an area to sit and eat as well as few benches through the park. I want to say the park was not busy on a week day and while there were plenty of kids we didn’t have to wait to use any of the amenities. There are bathrooms right by the front door.

This place is incredible. It is definitely different than any other children’s museum we’ve been to, but in a good way. It’s all outdoors. There is a walk from parking but you get to see the trains without having to pay train museum admission (which was sufficient for my toddler lol). When we visited, there was a water table, sand kitchen and garden that my kiddos particularly loved. We stayed around 2 hours and basically had to drag my kid out - he would have stayed in the sand kitchen forever. It is smaller and I think geared more towards younger kids, but if that what you have then they’ll LOVE it. I could see us coming back again if we were in the area. It was only April and warm - I am sure it gets HOT in the summer as there is minimal shade and it’s all outdoors. Bring your own water bottles - there are vending machines but they were sold out of all drinks when we went and they do have fountains to fill bottles.
Courtney G — Google review
It's a nice place but be aware that it's all outdoors and it gets very hot in the summer months. There is a train car with toys and AC to cool down in and there's if a water fountain. Staff is really sweet and friendly, they taught my girls about Pogo the yellow bellied slider today. Train portion is currently under construction so that was a bit of a bummer but we'll try to come back when it's open. It would be amazing if they could put in some more convenient bathrooms, but they do have some in the building next to the children's portion.
Blake W — Google review
We had a great experience. The staff were very informative and friendly. I only wish the kids had an opportunity to explore the inside of the trains. There is plenty for the kids to do, even a great play area for them. Id recommend for a great family day for sure.
Ashley C — Google review
My daughter had a great time! Very unique experience however because it is an outside museum, I would suggest more water exploration because it’s so hot in Savannah. The staff we interacted with were nice.
LaTisha R — Google review
I have mixed feelings about this museum. The advertised “opening in late 2025” for the first indoor expansion definitely doesn’t include early November, so we only had access to the outdoor area. Unfortunately, it could use some TLC. The tube slide was broken, parts of the maze and other sections looked worn out, the garden had rotting food, and the water table looked stagnant and wasn’t being used. For $48 for a family of four—especially for an outdoor-only experience, I left feeling disappointed. I honestly wish I had just paid a few dollars for parking and taken my 4- and 3-year-old to a nearby playground instead.
Marcie — Google review
It's a great space for my kid. He enjoys the little kitchen set up in the nook area and plays chef with me. He also loves spending time at the water table pretending to fish. The staff is so kind and welcoming, making sure both kids and parents have a great experience.
Blossom A — Google review
This place was perfect for my daughter's birthday party. The private train car was much more sizable than the pictures show and the gaggle of 8 year old kiddos all had a blast with the museum and the train ride. Staff was awesome and everything went off without a hitch. Definitely recommend this place for parties or just to bring your kiddos for a great time!

The Georgia State Railroad Museum is a must-visit for train enthusiasts and families with kids who love locomotives. It's the largest antebellum railroad repair facility still in existence, offering beautifully restored antique locomotives, model trains, and a working roundhouse and repair shop. Visitors can tour luxurious presidential cars, ride vintage steam and diesel locomotives, and even operate a handcar.
I have always enjoyed coming here and love hearing about the history of this particular Railroad Station and seeing the restoration that continues to take place. This time, I was able to share it with my husband and not 30 students (former educator who loved bringing her students to the Georgia State Railroad Museum). We ended up on a semi private tour of the facility and were able to walk the steps of those who had gone before us and see what remains (and is being restored). Our guide was amazing and gave us lots to talk about. Looking forward to our next visit!
Mary V — Google review
We were a little surprised at how small and dilapidated this museum is being that it’s the Georgia State Museum. With that said, it’s still a place to see a few locomotives, rail cars and passenger cars. There is a blacksmith shop and the machine shop to view. We walked the entire ground, seeing everything too to bottom and were done in about 30 minutes… We try to see all state train museums and we’ve been to more than 40 states, some are huge!! This is just ok. Probably pretty fun for younger kids.
Charene R — Google review
We visited on a school field trip. The kids had a great time. This visit was very informative and interactive. Staff were very pleasant and great with the kids. I only wish the kids had the opportunity to explore the inside of the trains.
Ashley C — Google review
Our tour guide Jan made for an incredibly informative and entertaining experience! His knowledge, enthusiasm and love for this location and its deep history made the entire building complex come alive. We are very lucky this location is still intact and local historians like Jan offer tours to the general public.
Wind S — Google review
I enjoyed learning about the history of the railroad system, and appreciated how well everything has been preserved over the years. I came at a time when there was no guided tours available, so I did not get the full story out of all of the exhibits. Also, most of this museum is outdoors which was an issue during my visit when it was extremely hot.
Anon Y — Google review
You need to do the guided tour to see anything interesting here. Its Mostly outside so beware the heat! The guided tour thing makes sense, but they don't have anything posted on the website about when the guided tours begin or even that they existed. The only guided tour the website mentions is the Train Ride. You need to do the Guided tour to: - See the inside of the Executive Rail Cars - To do the Handcar - To see the Steam Engine demonstration Most of the buildings are pretty empty sans a few old machines which are cool. They had a few neat locomotives. You can go in the cab of some of them. The architecture was cool to walk through!

Took our 2 boys to this. We got the tickets to ride the real life train.. short ride but a great experience for the young kids (3.5 &1.5). They have a wonderful giftshop for activities or toys. The children's museum is there as well and had a great activity going on. Good to plan on 2- 3 hrs worth of activity. My son was able to be on his balance bike the whole time other than the train ride so that kept him engaged. We will be back
Greg W — Google review
The Georgia State railroad museum is a must-visit if you are in Savannah and have any interest in historical machinery and trains. Mason and the crew here was interesting and shared a significant amount of historical information about the site and the trains. Admission includes the opportunity to ride on a rail car pulled by a functional diesel electric locomotive, including two trips on the roundabout. Well done, visit here, highly recommended.

Oatland Island Wildlife Center is a zoo-like preserve that offers an intimate wildlife experience for families. The center features natural habitats where dozens of species roam freely. Visitors can explore different exhibits, such as Predators of Georgia and Wolf Wilderness, showcasing animals like cougars, bobcats, grey wolves, and armadillos. Families can enjoy safe animal encounters and educational programs while strolling along the two-mile trail through marshes and forests.
We recently had the chance to visit the Oatland Island Wildlife Center, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, everything felt very inviting and well cared for. The staff clearly put a lot of effort into keeping the grounds, habitats, and facilities clean, safe, and enjoyable for visitors. It was especially noticeable how well-upkept everything was, which made exploring the area even more pleasant. Our two-year-old had an absolute blast, which says a lot because young kids can sometimes be hard to please when it comes to outings. He loved walking the trails, seeing the animals up close, and pointing out everything with excitement. Watching his reactions made the experience even more memorable for us as parents. There was a nice balance of shaded paths, open areas, and interactive spaces that kept him entertained without being overwhelming. The variety of animals was also impressive, and it felt like each enclosure was designed thoughtfully, both for the animals’ comfort and for the visitors’ viewing experience. Overall, Oatland Island Wildlife Center exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely recommend it to families with young children or anyone looking for a relaxing, educational, and fun day outdoors.
Josh T — Google review
The lady at the ticket booth was very friendly. If it were not for her this would be a 1 star review. The cost is very reasonable, but I was expecting to see more animals. For the length of the trail, there are very few animals. And the few they had, many were hiding, in vet care or for whatever reason the exhibit is closed. It was pretty hot when we came as well, in the mid-80’s so by the time we were halfway through we were dripping in sweat. The first half of the trail was somewhat enjoyable but after that it was just torture. Very few animals and we just wanted it to end! If you like walking a lot and sweating a lot, go for it. If you like seeing lots of animals, go somewhere else.
Cammy H — Google review
A great way to spend a few hours outside, taking a walk and seeing animals. The wildlife trail is very pretty to walk through with a few different stops to sit. This place is also affordable at $5 for adults, I definitely recommend.
Stephanie — Google review
Amazing place! Spent about an hour and a half here but you could easily spend three hours here especially with kids. It's $5 a person and totally worth every single penny. The trails are beautiful. Tons of Spanish moss. There is a vending machine. There's restrooms in the visitor center and then about 40% through the trail is another. You park in the lot and then walk around or through the visitor center to get to the trails, once you're on it, it's not confusing at all.
Breonna P — Google review
This is a great location for children to learn about many different animals varying from wolves to eagles. It was hot so bring plenty of water and be sure to take breaks. The trail is about 2 miles long and offers some shade.
Matthew C — Google review
What an absolute great time, and for a low entry price! This is an absolute must if you have children and are looking to burn a couple of hours. The inside is relatively small and short, but the outside walking trail is a nice long easily 2 hour walk full of animals and experiences. We enjoyed the small aquatic display inside and the cute gift shop, but the real hit was the farm area with all the various animals, cows, donkeys, sheep, goat, chickens, pigs, turkeys, and a few others really drew the whole thing in and made it a great stop for our toddler. DOWNSIDES. The walking trail while accessible, is very rough in some spots and not the best in others so it can be challenging briefly. Come prepared with bug spray, water, and fans depending on the time of year, and you should be good to go.
Robert B — Google review
What a great place to spend a lazy Sunday. They have a great selection of animals including bison, owls, deer and more! Make sure to check out the cougar exhibit as well! They were very active. Nice cute gift shop too. Very cheap admission too! Would definitely visit again sometime soon!
James T — Google review
What a wonderful walk on the nature trail. Some of the animals (cats) were hiding because of time of day but I enjoyed scenery and many birds. My watch read 2.31 miles for the total loop from the visitor's center.

Forsyth Park, located in the Savannah Historic District, is a 30-acre urban public park that serves as the heart of outdoor life in the city. Originally developed in the 1840s and expanded later, it features a historic fountain, Confederate and Spanish-American War memorials, fragrant gardens, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts. The park hosts various cultural events such as film screenings and sports matches.
This is a beautiful park in the historic district. Lots of lovely shade trees and new benches. Many young locals out for a walk or run. Very active large park. Several historical sites and a fountain ⛲ and a nice restaurant. Dog friendly.
David M — Google review
Beautiful place to go for a walk, have a picnic, or just chill on a bench and people- watch or read a book! The trees are absolutely amazing!!! They also have a really cool farmers’ market on Saturday mornings with fresh produce, of course, and much more - food, art, various artisan goods, and fun, quirky surprises waiting to be discovered!
Jennifer W — Google review
This is where I'd go daily if I were living here. What a fantastic park to have an afternoon stroll, relax at one of the beaches and people watch, or find a little spot on the grass to end the day. Great history too and is famous with many films featuring the park.
Hung T — Google review
Don't miss this stop. It's breath taking. Beautiful old oaks adorn this park and create an inviting place to read, nap or people watch. You could bike and run, but not this time :). Water fountain was being repaired so no water works. But beautiful non the less.
Ladeegeek G — Google review
Forsyth Park is such a beautiful and dynamic place! There’s always something going on. people having picnics, kids playing, sports, and sometimes even live music. The vibe is amazing, full of life and good energy. It’s a perfect spot for walking, relaxing, or just spending time outdoors.
Samira — Google review
This park is fabulous! It’s a busy place on Saturday with soccer, ultimate frisbee, tennis, basketball, and anything else you can imagine. It also features a wonderful market along the central, live oak-line walkway. The fountain is beautiful and there’s construction happening and it looks like maybe a new zen garden is coming. There is a stage and I’d love to come back for a concert one day. Locals and visitors should take advantage of this amazing outdoor space early and often!
Heath S — Google review
Beautiful park and it should be one of the first places to visit when you are in Savannah. There is also free parking by the tenis courts and free bus that can take you from there to the waterfront and free ferry wich is great for sightseeing the whole downtown area.
Ana A — Google review
What a massive park in the middle of the city. An amphitheater, which I bet is awesome on a nice summer night. The trees cover the walkway to the fountain, which is a beautiful backdrop for photos.

Leopold's Ice Cream is a beloved ice cream parlor that has been a staple for over 100 years. Founded by three Greek brothers, the shop is now run by their descendants and continues to draw long lines of eager customers. The parlor offers a variety of classic and seasonal flavors, including the original 1919 Tutti Fruitti rum ice cream with candied fruit and Georgia pecans.
You guys truly hit the sweet spot for our family! My kids absolutely loved their visit, and it's easy to see why this place is a local gem. The first thing that impressed us was the fantastic variety on their menu. From classic scoops to creative concoctions, there's a flavor and a treat to please every member of the family, no matter how picky their ice cream preferences might be. My personal highlight, however, was the hot fudge sundae. It was genuinely "out of this world" – the rich, warm fudge paired perfectly with the creamy ice cream, creating an indulgent and unforgettable dessert. It's the kind of sundae that makes you want to come back for more. Beyond the delicious ice cream, the atmosphere was welcoming and kid-friendly, making it a perfect spot for a treat after school or on a weekend outing. If you're in the area and looking for high-quality ice cream with plenty of choices and a truly exceptional hot fudge sundae, Leopard's Ice Cream is a must-visit!
Murali N — Google review
I will be the first to acknowledge that I am fluent in hyperbole, but Leopold's is legitimately the best ice cream I've had in my 29 years and 223 days on planet Earth. We were finishing off a couple martinis and quickly google searched "ice cream near me," and I nearly choked on an oyster when Leopold's popped up with 4.7 stars on 13,505 google reviews. Those numbers are UNPRECEDENTED... 2006 Kobe Bryant numbers. 2012 Calvin Johnson numbers. We made the short walk over on a blessed Sunday afternoon and were met with no line. I taste tested 4 different flavors, and the staff was so helpful in recommending, and more importantly, not recommending things based on my pallet. I can't remember the exact flavors I got, and for that I am sorry my dear reader. I have failed you. 1 scoop was their variation of cookies and cream, and the other was some peanut butter cookie kind of flavor that was blessed by the hand of Zeus himself. This was the perfect ice cream. It was so good that my girlfriend and I were on facetime the other night trying to see if they ship nationally, which they do but you need to buy 5 pints. Worth it tbh. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

I always enjoy going to this old fashion cream parlor. I always meet people in the line visiting Savannah from different places. The staff is always nice. The ice cream is great. I always like getting the rum bisque. There is an area where you can sit down and enjoy your ice cream. They offer a variety of flavors. There is always seasonal flavors. They always have a line for this place. I drive over an hour to get ice cream here. Some things are just worth it. The brownie sundae is one of them. .
Sheila R — Google review
Delicious. We had the two scoop brownie sundae and single scoop with toppings. It was great. We paid $16. When we go to an ice cream shop down by our home in South Florida the prices would’ve been double. Free water. Bathrooms were clean. Great atmosphere and everyone is so friendly.
Brian C — Google review
As a self proclaimed ice cream connoisseur, I can absolutely say this lives up to the hype. I came back two days in a row and the child size cup was perfect. Highly recommend the German chocolate and peanut butter chip flavors. And they will let you taste a bunch of flavors too and still manage to keep the line moving fast!
Lauren — Google review
I admit I am not huge ice cream fan. I can usually take it or leave it. But I had heard of this place and it was a stop on a hop on hop off tour I was on so I had to stop by. It was hands down the best ice cream I have ever had! I got the kiddy size Lemon Custard and it was so creamy and lemony but not over powering. 10/10 recommend if you are in the area!
Michelle N — Google review
From the moment we stepped in, the staff was incredibly attentive and gave us samples of various flavors. The ice cream was very smooth and decadent. The portion was great, too! I appreciate that they kept some of the original flavors from 1919, like their lemon custard and tutti frutti. I didn’t try either, but I could imagine the tutti frutti with the pieces of candied fruit in it being a favorite from that time. My grandfather loved rum cake with candied fruit in it, so it seems to fit the time of the store. I got the Savannah Socialite and Cookies^2. The pecans were the perfect texture: not too crunchy, not too soft. It was very rich. One scoop of that was enough. I couldn’t have eaten two because it would have been too much richness. Having the second scoop be Cookies^2 was perfect. The vanilla was made with tiny bits of cookie dough throughout (I mean super tiny. They called it their chocolate chip cookie ice cream with cookie dough in it.) I would definitely come back here regularly if I lived nearby. The vibe was very cool, too. Very old style with red everywhere. It felt like a step back in time. They even have what looked like a functioning jukebox!
Lindsey P — Google review
It was pretty awesome going here and getting a little blast from the past as well as modern ice flavor choices coupled with friendly and energetic service. I believe our servers name was Ashley and she was so amazing. I typically prefer fruit based ice creams and I didn't see much in the counter that appealed to me but Ashley said, oh we have more than just this and asked questions about what I liked and recommended the fruit sundae and even asked if we wanted it in a glass bowl, thats where the nostalgia really kicked it. I seriously want to go back to Savannah just to get this ice cream and see these awesome people. Thank you for creating an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I will never forget the kindness and that big smile Ashely greeted us with. There was also a gentleman that would check on everyone in the dining area and he was so cool and friendly, also smiling the entire time. I didnt catch his name but it was clear to me that him and Ashley truly enjoyed working there. Also, this was probably the best strawberry ice cream ive ever had in my life.

As a former Girl Scout (nearly 30 years ago) I've wanted to visit JGL Birthplace for a while. I ordered a ticket online just in case, but I probably could have purchased it before the tour started. Just walking into the lobby transported me to my GS days and I felt gratitude for this woman that provided an opportunity for girls that she probably had no idea would expand so far and wide. Our group was kind of small, about 9 of us. Two of which were GS (Daisy and Brownie) in their little vests. Our tour guide was really great and the pacing of the tour was perfect. The information presented was not overwhelming and I learned so much about Juliette Gordon Low. Finding out the beyond founding Girl Scouts, she was a very accomplished artist and a loved nature. I absolutely recommend any current AND former Girl Scouts (no matter how old) to visit the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum.

The tour guide was really knowledgeable. That part is awesome!! Down side is the poor AC, and you really don’t see a ton of the house. It’s just the main floor and 4-5 rooms. No upstairs and they renovated what was the original kitchen in the basement into like a guest waiting room so kinda disappointed on that front.

Being a Girl Scout myself when I was young this tour was so much fun. Our guide was great!!! Really enjoyed ourselves.

What an amazing place! We came here on a GS trip from Utah and the guided tour was really incredible. Our tour guide was funny, thorough and informative. Our girls had a great time! My only tidbit of feedback would be that the game played upstairs be explained more/better. We were all so confused and it seemed like such a random game to play. No one knew what we were really doing. Thanks for a great time!

Went with my family. Me and my daughters are Girl Scouts but weren’t able to go with our troop last year. The tour was interesting and enjoyable. The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. We got our pins and a few other things. Would recommend.

Savannah City Market is a historic four-block open-air market in Savannah's Historic District that has been around since the 1700s. It has withstood significant events throughout history and is now preserved as a landmark. The market is housed within restored warehouse buildings and offers various shopping and dining experiences, including British bakeries, seafood houses, daquiri dispensaries, and ice cream shops. Additionally, it features local artists showcasing their work in different mediums.
This was a fun stop to explore when getting off at the trolley stop. The prohibition museum was a must see and lunch at Paula Dean and Sons restaurant was wonderful.

Love the inner closed streets for wandering. Music seemed to be playing everywhere which gave a great atmosphere! The bathroom situation is less than ideal, everywhere says market closes at 6, but by 530 info center was closed. Need a key for the public bathroom in the artist building but artist shops have notes saying no key;don’t ask 🤷‍♀️. Birds cookie shop had SUPER friendly staff. The candy shop did not. Pizza smelled delicious and I regret not trying it! Was a fun time to walk around and enjoy a little time!

Interesting place. Dog and adult beverages friendly. Lots of shops and places to eat. The pizza at Vinnie's was delicious. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours before dinner.

The flags that were on display said "Fall in Love with the City Market" and that was an easy one for us! This market was huge with most buildings having two floors loaded with unique and bougie shops, art galleries, food specialties, and much much more. Proprietors were so friendly and informative and attentive to your curiosities and we were in no pressure for time to leave any shop not visited. A must if you're ever visiting the downtown Savannah area!

This place was an unexpected treat! Reminded me of 'The French Market' in New Orleans! More open air than the French Market. Wide pedestrian only streets made walking easy. Nice clusters of retail shops, art galleries, and restaurants of every type. Better yet, this place stays open til 10pm! Yes, It's a tourist trap but it's NOT a bunch of 'Made in China' crap! It ALL local craft persons selling well-made, functional items. Check out the gorgeous bags made of recycled sail cloth! The shoe place next door was awesome! In need of a sugar fix? FREE PRALINE SAMPLE just down half a block! While I still yearn for New Orleans, this place was a lovely substitute! I was in Savannah 2 days during which I went to VINNIE'S 3 times. It's that GOOD! IT'S ALL GOOD!!!!

Bonaventure Cemetery, immortalized in the best-selling "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" novel, is a serene and beautiful cemetery located just east of the Historic District. Established in 1846, this Southern Gothic garden spans over 160 acres on a bluff above the Wilmington River. The cemetery's landscape is a mix of natural beauty and sculptural artistry, with tree-lined roads adding to its unique charm.
Walks through old cemeteries are always quietly thought provoking and Bonaventure is no exception. Its uniquely southern semitropical environment gives it a very different feeling, moodier than most even in the blazing hot mid morning sun of August. Beautiful stonework throughout with often poignant inscriptions and dates of historical significance. Fewer statuary than I expected but still several really pretty but weathered examples. This cemetery is well worth a visit though I’d opt for going without the ever talking guides.

Beautiful cemetery! Duration: 1 hour Parking: free (I recommend just parking at the entrance and roaming) There is really no need for a paid tour guide. Simply ask your AI if choice to give you a tour of the major points of interest.

Bonaventure Cemetery is the most beautiful and unusual cemetery I’ve ever seen. The huge oak trees draped in moss give it such a mysterious atmosphere… so many beautiful sculptures… so peaceful and timeless.

Beautiful cemetery with dramatic views of moss draped live oaks and ornate gravestones and monuments. Worth a visit if you are staying in nearby Savanah. For horror movie buffs, Lucio Fulci taped a few scenes here for his 1980 move, City of the Living Dead.

Absolutely amazing. My partner and I travel the world focusing on famous cemeteries. This one did not disappoint. Make sure to get a map from the front office. Sections C through H are where most of the interesting internments and statues are

This historic cemetery still has active burials occuring within its bucolic and gently rolling terrain, amidst many old, beautiful and diverse trees and shrubs. The depth of history here goes back to colonial times with many different types of monuments, mausoleums and gravestones present. Some of the property borders the waterfront making for a diverse experience overall. Quietly walking these hallowed grounds is both solemn and touching.
Wind S — Google review
As cemeteries go, this one is quite unique and visually interesting to see! Pictures don’t quite do it justice. Free to visit. I recommend driving inside and finding a spot to park and walking around for a bit. Then you can get back in your car and drive through the rest. Some very old graves here going back to the 1800s if not 1700s. A great variety in the various headstones and monuments and tombs, etc., and all the magnolia trees and Spanish moss just give it a very unique atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Well worth taking the Trolley Tour because you can see the greatest areas of the city in the shortest most efficient way and time. Be sure and tip your driver for exceptional service and a truly engaging and entertaining experience. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The trolley tours are awesome with very knowledgeable and entertaining guides. The one guide was absolutely hilarious and you could tell he enjoyed what he does. He had us laughing the entire time. He has the authentic Georgia southern accent to set the tone of the entire tour. DA was the best trolley guide they have so they definitely need to hang on to him. We saw a lot of beautiful and historic sites. It was very enjoyable! Thanks DA!

We had the best time . It’s a great way to see the whole area and the ability to stop and get off when you want to. Deion was a great host . He was very funny and kept it entertaining for the crowd. We also had another driver and I can’t remember his name but he was also great. Was very upbeat and was singing to the crowd. They were both amazing. Definitely do this tour if in Savannah. You won’t regret it.

My boyfriend and I LOVED the hop on & hop off trolley! The drivers/tour guides were safe, so charming and informative. I recommend the Prohibition Museum and Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. So fun seeing the Forest Gump filming spot. We would love to live in Savannah one day! 5/5 recommend especially if this is your first visit to the city. Trolleys arrive to each stop quickly - we didn’t wait too long at all.

I honestly had no desire to do this tour because I thought it was a tourist trap. However, the person I was traveling with really wanted to do it, so we did. It was honestly such a great tour! You learn so much history about the city and the buildings. You can also hop on and hop off as much as you'd like, which made it super convenient. We hopped on and off a lot so we had a lot of different drivers and all of them were amazing! If you're in Savannah, I definitely recommend doing this tour!

We took the Old Town Trolley Tour 8 years ago. We liked it so much that we decided to take it again. We had a fantastic time from 11AM to 5:30PM. We had three different drivers on 10/10/25. Ellis was our favorite as he provided us with a comprehensive, congenial history of the city as we traveled to 16 stops in 90+ minutes. He also recommended an excellent place for lunch, which we enjoyed. We also ate dinner there. We had perfect weather - sunny and cloudy, and no rain. It was cool as we rode from stop to stop. We went to every stop, and when it started over again, we got off at stop 10 to eat and shop. We walked to stop 11 and got on again. This time we got off at the Riverwalk. We shopped, and got back on, riding to stop 9 where our car was parked at the visitor center. There are two tours: 75 minute historical tour in an enclosed white bus and a 90 minute tour in an open air yellow bus with individual & different commentary by the driver you have. We have not tried the first one. We like being able to get on and off, and listening to different drivers' perspectives. The staff at each of the visitor centers housing the tour are friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us coupons with our map. Unfortunately we forgot to use them when we visited and shopped at five of the locations! Maybe you'll be more aware and remember to use them after your tour!

The Jepson Center & Telfair Children's Art Museum (CAM) is a modern museum that showcases contemporary art and installations, with a special focus on engaging children through an interactive gallery. The museum, designed by Moshe Safdie, offers over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions and works from the permanent collection. It also features educational programming in an auditorium, community gallery, education studios, and ArtZeum - a unique interactive gallery for families.
We got the ticket because of the historical house museum. Still, we fully enjoyed this contemporary museum, and highly recommend that you visit here if you have the ticket and time!

Lovely art museum! For $30 you get access to three locations, two right next to one another. They currently have a great mix of photography (contemporary and some presentations of older American works), sculpture, painting / printing, and a cool exhibit of performance costumes from famous movies. Well worth a visit.
Dylan G — Google review
I was passing by the area, saw that there was a Glenn Close costume exhibition on and made a detour off the highwsy especially. It was $30 to enter museum! Having only the option of a 3 museum 7 day pass is crazy when I'm sure most visitors to Savannah are not staying 7 days (most likely 2-3 nights). Guess I'll catch the exhibition in a more affordable location.

This place was so interactive and fun. The art was engaging and informative. There was so much we could touch and interact with. The immersion impressionist floral garden downstairs is so fun. They also do movies in their theatre during the days. Fern Gully was playing when we were there. If you visit be ready to play and have fun. They also have food but it's not very kid friendly unless your kids like pb&j or grilled cheese. It's also expensive but you get entry to 3 places.

The Jepson Center & Telfair Children's Art Museum was the perfect outing for my 4 year old grandson. The rooms were bright and cheerful. There were so many hands-on experiences. From the large geometric shapes and the interactive wall to the spinning tops and reading room, he was engaged for the entire visit. If you have young children this is an excellent place to take them.

We skipped the children's museum but the other galleries were awesome. I'm not sure if any are permanent, but the visiting armor exhibit was top notch and the two local sculptors that were highlighted were very good too. Tickets include the Owen's house (timed) and Telfair academy.

Wormsloe State Historic Site, located in Savannah, Georgia, is a picturesque historic landmark featuring the ruins of a Colonial estate, gardens, trails, and an oak-lined driveway. Once owned by Noble Jones, one of the original settlers of Savannah who arrived with General James Oglethorpe in 1733, this site offers visitors the chance to explore tabby ruins - known as the oldest standing structure in Savannah - and Noble Jones' original burial site.
I had just been to Bonaventure Cemetery and was completely eaten up by mosquitoes so I almost didn't get out when I pulled in. But I'm glad I did! You do have to pay to get in but they had a veteran discount for me which was nice. 😊 I chose to walk the 1.5 mile long live oak, Spanish moss, tree lined avenue. I was alone at the time, nobody was really there yet. It was peaceful and just so gorgeous. Would have loved to have spent more time hiking the trails there. Also, in my 1.5 hours there, I got only one mosquito but at the very end. I was so surprised but thankful! This beautiful place is definitely worth visiting. Completed shaded the whole time pretty much too!

Wormsloe State Historic Site is a must-see when visiting Savannah. From the moment you enter the breathtaking oak-lined drive, you know you’re in for something special. The grounds are both peaceful and full of history, with plenty of opportunities to learn and explore at your own pace. I really appreciated that visitors can choose to walk the full trail system or hop on the trolley for part of the journey—it makes the experience accessible for everyone. The weather was perfect during our visit, which made wandering through the shaded paths even more enjoyable. To top it off, there’s a charming little shop with unique gifts and keepsakes, a nice way to end a truly memorable outing.

Wormsloe Historic Site is absolutely stunning! The long oak-lined entrance is breathtaking, it feels like stepping into a movie. Definitely worth visiting!

A wonderful visit. The Park Guides are very nice and informative. Taking the ride through the 1.5 miles of the Live Oak canopied drive is great. Lovely walking/hiking trails as well!

I’m so grateful that they now have a ranger hook up seating to a tractor and took us down to the museum. They stopped letting folks in the main gate because there were too many cars on the mile and a half stretch, and it was destroying the roots of the trees, not to mention aggravation for the people who live there. They have a very informative museum as well as a trail down to the tabby ruins and Jones’s Cemetery
Maureen M — Google review
Beautiful oak trees with spanish moss. $12 per person for entry will get you a ride to the tourist center down the famous oak tree lined gravel drive. Once dropped off there are a few miles of available hiking in that area. Some old ruins in this area including the remnants of a fort. We chose to walk the roughly 1.5 miles back to the parking lot but rides are available every 30 minutes.
Jeremy C — Google review
Very beautiful area, tickets for adults are $12 each. Waited a little more than 10 minutes for the tour tractor to pull up. Also if you love history this place has plenty, I was just to distracted by all the gorgeous trees and the squirrels.😂
Corrina W — Google review
You HAVE to visit! This place is incredible. The stunning live oak avenue is just the start. At the visitor center, you get a quick history lesson, a fascinating museum, and a great gift shop. But the real magic is outside: walk to the 1737 tabby ruins (oldest in Savannah!), explore trails with gorgeous marsh views, and catch the living history demonstrations in the Colonial Life Area (afternoons, weather permitting). Plus, five more miles of nature trails if you're up for it. For only $12 an adult, this is an absolute steal for a day of history and nature!" Parking is free

The Savannah History Museum is housed in a 19th-century railway shed and showcases the city's local history, including military, industry, art, and culture. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring cultural artifacts such as clothing, military items, and agricultural history. The museum provides insights into Savannah's experience during the Civil War and its genealogical makeup. Group tours are available with staff dressed in historical outfits.
I took my son in late January and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide, Patrick, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We really appreciated the time he took to discuss the diorama for the Revolutionary War battle that took place on the site of the present day museum. I would recommend the museum to anyone looking for a rainy day activity or if you want to learn more about the rich history of Savannah.

The museum is handicap accessible, which is really nice.

The Pirates' House is a long-standing pirate-themed restaurant housed in a historic inn that was once an experimental garden. Saved from demolition in the 1940s, it now serves hearty Southern fare such as Low Country Spring Rolls, Shrimp and Grits, and Honey Pecan Fried Chicken. The restaurant's location near River Street makes it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
Such an amazing experience at The Pirate’s House in Savannah! The history alone makes it worth a visit. it’s the oldest restaurant in Savannah, dating back to the 1700s, and you can truly feel that charm and rich history throughout the space. The staff is so knowledgeable and eager to share stories about the building’s past, which makes dining here feel like stepping back in time. Tom was our waiter and did a fantastic job. Even with a packed house, he was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. The food was excellent, and came out quickly. the shrimp and grits were hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and my husband’s fried chicken was amazing (it’s literally half a chicken plus sides!). Not pictured are the Low Country spring rolls because they disappeared before we could even take a photo, they were that good. If you’re visiting Savannah, The Pirate’s House is an absolute must. Make sure to take the full tour and visit the gift shop upstairs.
Abigail S — Google review
The Pirates House is definitely more of a tourist spot than a foodie destination. The restaurant itself is neat and has a cool history. The biscuits and the she crab soup were the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, everything else fell kind of flat. I ordered the crab melt which was loaded with red peppers even though the menu didn’t mention it, and it overpowered the dish. I had house made chips as my side and they were so stale that they were inedible. My husband had the chicken salad croissant sandwich and it didn’t taste seasoned at all. If you’re looking for a unique Savannah experience, you may like this place, but don’t expect a standout meal.
Brooke L — Google review
The Pirates’ House is a must-visit stop in Savannah for anyone who enjoys great Southern food with a side of history! Located just a block from River Street, this restaurant dates back to 1753 and was once an inn for sailors and, according to local legend, a gathering place for pirates. You can still feel that old-world charm in every creaky floorboard and historic room. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and they were excellent — plenty of flavor, the perfect portion size, and beautifully balanced with just the right amount of spice. There was also a great looking buffet with lots of options to choose from. The staff was friendly and full of fun stories about the building’s past (ask about the tunnels!). Whether you’re a foodie, a history lover, or just in search of that classic Savannah experience, The Pirates’ House delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!

Pirates do live here. And they will come around and try to steal your doubloons unless you order a lot of food - like th best she crab soup in town, the fried green tomatoes, the gumbo, and their award winning pecan fries chicken. All very good. It was like eat 3 meals all at once, but you need to have a proper southern meal like this if you're in Savannah.

One of the Oldest Buildings in the United States, alot of people say Haunted. We had the Honey Pecan Fried Chicken and it was absolutely delicious. 100% will get again and Highly Recommend. The Crab Dip with Pita chips was great as well. Take the pirate tour and look in every room even if you're not eating in there. We dined in the Captains room but they all are pretty interesting to say the least. We shared and they split our meal on 2 plates.

We always have exceptional service in The Captain's room. The she crab soup is the best you will find anywhere from Savannah to Wilmington. They do give tours and some servers will offer up old stories of the tunnels, pirates and the oldest house in Georgia, which they say is inside/part of the restaurant.

We had a group of 14 classmates. We get together every fall. This year, Savannah was our winner. With a group of 14, it’s rare we can all sit together. The Pirate House had an 8 top and a 6 top right next to each other. Our drinks were tasty and strong. I got the grouper dinner and it was great. We were extremely fortunate to have Lindsey as our server. She was all over it. She had both of our tables and she didn’t miss a beat. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. Nestled along the picturesque Savannah River, Old Fort Jackson stands as Georgia's oldest brick fortification and a remarkable piece of American history. This National Historic Landmark is one of only eight remaining Second System forts in the United States, originally constructed to safeguard the city during pivotal moments like the War of 1812 and later serving as a strategic base during the Civil War.
A really well curated fort with more interesting history to explore. This state-owned fort is definitely worth the visit. We self toured but saw some others getting guided tours. We did spend some time with a very friendly and super knowledgeable female employee that gave us a great presentation and answered a ton of questions. It's located on the Savannah River in a beautiful scenic location. I actually enjoyed this fort more than nearby Fort Pulaski.

Definitely worth visiting this old fort near the Savannah port. We most enjoyed the musket demonstration where the soldier explained how the guns, bullets, and bayonets were used in battles and skirmishes. His demonstration of how to quickly load and fire 3 rounds in about 1 minute was wonderful. We enjoyed the artifacts and displays along with walking around and exploring the fort. There’s a small fee to get in but well worth it. History buffs will love this place! Not a history buff? This fort is a great place to learn about why the US built forts in post-revolution history and the role they served through the late 1800s.

Must go and enjoy. Preferred when it's cooler months! The curator was absolutely amazing! The gift shop was overly fair priced... And if you're a history nut, it doesn't matter what the weather is.

What an amazing visit we had!! The location is beautiful, old fort Jackson sits on the Savannah river. You will meet the most friendly, informative staff. They will tell you so much information that time will pass quickly as you take it in, you may even want to go back to learn more soon! They have demonstrations of weapon firings and cannon firings. It is a real treat to witness, they provide ear and eye safety for all visitors. You may be lucky enough to see the riverboat cruising from here! If you've done that cruise it is so cool to see it from a new angle. If not, the riverboat is beautiful on its own and an added visual perk. For bird watchers we saw American Eagles and Terns during our visit. When you arrive, slow down and take in this wonderful site slowly. It is not a large fort, to me that is what made it so special. Thank you to everyone who works hard to keep these historic sites alive for generations to experience. To the 2 soldiers at the fort today you knocked it out of the park!

A fun history lesson. Plenty of demonstrations of arms to satisfy the child in all of us. A great place to bring the kids. Our guide/ reenactor was phenomenal.

Great spot. Lovely people. Was visiting from Canada and decided to stop by. Beautiful exhibits and tons of rich, real history right before your eyes. Spencer put on a wonderful firearms/ cannon demonstration and was more than happy to answer any questions I had about the place. 10/10 would recommend.

So much fun! Our guide through history was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and fun! This is a great and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon. Show up around 12:45 pm and watch the muzzle loader firing, watch as they fire the cannon at the Riverboat, then fire another canon! Great afternoon all around, do it you won't regret it.

The Telfair Museums is a historic art gallery in downtown Savannah, GA. It houses a variety of American and European paintings, sculptures, works on paper, and decorative arts from its permanent collection. Highlights include seeing the old mansion where the Governors once lived and viewing the impressive permanent collections.
Good for kids, hands on experience with the open art studio. Tickets are valid for a week (if you stay at Savannah longer, and the old museum near by). The cafe is ok, the roasted mushroom dish is very very salty with a lot of soy sauce. Ice cream (chocolate and pecan topping) is good, the chocolate flavor is very strong!

$27 Senior ticket gives access to all 4 buildings for a full week. All within walking distance of the others. Great value for your money. Educational as well as beautiful experiences.
Connie T — Google review
As a first-time visitor to Savannah, discovering the Telfair Museums with their 7-day, three-museum pass was a fantastic introduction to the city's culture and history. The ability to visit the Jepson Center (modern/children's), the Telfair Academy (classic art), and the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters (history/architecture) at our own pace over a week was invaluable. Each site offered a completely different but equally enriching experience, catering to varied interests from contemporary art to historical insights. It’s a brilliant way to explore Savannah’s diverse heritage.
Julie Z — Google review
A Bit Pricey, but Worth Supporting Local Art The museum offers a decent experience, though I found the admission fee to be on the high side. The exhibits are well-presented, but the overall collection feels somewhat limited for the cost. However, the focus on local artists and community support makes it a meaningful place to visit if you're looking to engage with Savannah’s cultural scene.
Soroush A — Google review
Sophisticated and enjoyable museum experience. The Newcomb College pottery exhibit and the William Golding exhibit are worthwhile to see and enjoy. Calm and peaceful experience to enjoy in Savannah, highly recommended.
Luke T — Google review
A mix of old and new under one umbrella — the Jepson Center’s sleek galleries contrast with the historic Telfair Academy. I enjoyed the Owens-Thomas House tour the most; it’s layered with history and context. Some exhibits felt small, but overall it’s enriching and memorable.
Jim K — Google review
Overpriced, Poor Experience, and Rude Staff My husband and I paid $30 each (a total of $60) for tickets, and it was a complete disappointment. At the entrance of the first museum (Jepson Center), we were told very clearly that the ticket was valid for all three museums — which is why we decided to buy it, planning to visit them all. Unfortunately, we did not get what we were promised. The staff at the Jepson Center were polite, but they failed to explain that the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters would be closing early and remain closed for several days. That meant our $60 tickets were never truly valid, and we were charged full price without disclosure. We should have received a discount upfront. When we arrived at the Owens-Thomas House at 4 p.m., we were met at the door with rude and dismissive treatment. The staff told us the museum was already closed, that we could not enter, and that they were shutting everything down. They made it clear they were leaving, even though the posted schedule says closing is at 5 p.m. and online it states the last tour is at 4. We were on time for that last tour, but they still refused to let us in. When we asked if there was any solution or adjustment since one museum was closed for days, they told us to “go back to the first museum” for a refund. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. On top of that, the galleries we did see (Jepson Center and Telfair Academy) were extremely poor in content and quality, with almost nothing to look at and very little meaning or inspiration in the exhibits. To put this in perspective: the Art Institute of Chicago costs only $14 and is massive, with world-class collections, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York costs $30 and is absolutely immense. Compared to those, charging $30 here is absolutely unjustified.

The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist is a 19th-century Roman Catholic church known for its neo-gothic architecture, stunning stained glass, and music recitals. Situated in Savannah's Historic District, it features twin 200-foot white spires that dominate the skyline. The cathedral is one of the largest in the southern states and attracts numerous visitors who come to admire its external architecture.
A beautiful mini Basilica filled with lots of art- paintings, windows, and statues. Our teenagers were amazed. We attended the 10 am mass on Sunday and felt welcomed. There was street parking, incense was burned at this mass time (which is announced on their website), and we went to the coffee shop across the street after- (it was packed!). Definitely a must see Cathedral if in Savannah!
Elsa O — Google review
This cathedral basilica was BEAUTIFUL. The member of the church who gave us the history on the cathedral was very knowledgeable, kind and non judging. I would LOVE to visit here again. I'm not religious however I would definitely love to attend a service here one day.

A beautiful and grand church building. The tour is self-guided and can be completed in a relatively short time. A docent was present to speak with visitors. He was friendly and knowledgeable. If you like organ music, go early. We were told that the organist often practices during the first hour of the morning tour period. The best part: there is no admission fee! A nominal freewill offering is requested.
James G — Google review
Absolutely beautiful! I did not take an official tour. Just went in and explored. Friendly staff. The front outside was under construction, but I think it will be lovely once it is restored. This is an historical landmark, beautiful, serene and definitely worth seeing. Don't forget to leave a donation before you leave; they need this to keep the cathedral beautiful and historic.

Beautiful place! It was easy to get in, and the views inside are absolutely stunning. They even share great info about the church while you’re there. I recommend checking their website for hours before you go, but we were able to walk right in and even caught a quick performance from a band — such a nice surprise!

Highly recommend visiting! A must-see on your trip to Savannah. It is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful. Stunning architecture inside and out. There are areas inside for prayer and candle lighting. You can come and go as you please. There are guides in there to answer questions or give more information if needed. I will be back again.
Megan — Google review
The Cathedral was beautiful. It is open to the public during certain times as listed outside the building, but does have an active congregation with masses. There is no admission charge, but donations are encouraged and appreciated. Guests are asked to be respectful and quiet so those around them can have a quiet prayer time. We are definitely glad we hopped off the tour bus to go inside and see the beauty inside.

Skidaway Island State Park is a stunning waterfront park in Georgia, featuring camping options including cabins, nature programs, trails, and a viewing tower. The park boasts a picturesque lowcountry landscape of forests and salt marshes teeming with birdlife. Visitors can explore the boardwalk for an up-close view of the marsh or venture along nature trails that lead to historic sites such as Prohibition-era liquor stills and remnants of Civil War fortifications.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly with the booking process and the campsites are tucked into the woods and are very cozy. The hiking trails are beautiful, especially early in the morning and we would happily stay again. Stayed in a class B 21 foot camper van.

The premium sites were the most level. They were considered premium because they had 50 amp service and sewer hookups. Our first night we were scheduled to be in site 77 which was so unlevel we absolutely could not set up with our 30 foot travel trailer. We moved to site one and stayed five more nights. They have nice laundry rooms and showers throughout the park. The Ranger station/store/education center is very new and nice.

Lots of amenities at this state park. Very accessible. Electricity and water at every site. Beautiful, shady, spacious sites. Plenty of showers with abundant, warm water. Less than 30 minutes from Historic Savannah. Groceries and restaurants close at hand. There's even a coffee truck, Overflow Coffee, in the parking lot of the church right outside the park entrance, opening at 7 am.
Merry S — Google review
The park is beautiful as in shaddy & there are deers to see every day. We have a class A 38 ft. not big rig friendly, the roads are not wide enough & they are two way roads that should be one way, the roads are erupting because of tree roots, they should have been fixed years ago. The dump station is only on one side of the road. When we were there for a week there was this loud noise like a commercial leaf blower in the morning not sure if it was in the park.
T S — Google review
Our Scout Troop stayed in the pioneer (primitive) campsite, which was perfect for our group. The rangers and park staff were very helpful with our needs, and very happy to engage in conversation. They were all knowledgeable about the park and surrounding areas, and taught us about the natural features (and some invasive species) in the Low Country.
M. B — Google review
Quiet camp ground, easy to get to, nice sites, clean and ample facilities, hiking trails, downtown Savannah only a short drive. Only complaints would be; the loop road is in bad state due to tree roots, is quite narrow, and overhung in places by some quite sturdy trees. A tall motorhome or 5th wheel would need to be extremely careful - if you are over 12ft then be cautious.

Candy store
Savannah's Candy Kitchen is a must-visit spot in Savannah, known for its rich history and delicious treats. The Strickland family has been crafting Southern confections for three generations, using old-fashioned methods and fresh ingredients. Located on River Street, this iconic candy shop offers a nostalgic experience for the whole family.
This place is a sweet tooth’s dream come true. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, nostalgic vibe and the smell of fresh caramel and chocolate in the air. They offer an amazing variety of handmade treats—from perfectly chewy pralines and chocolate-dipped strawberries to colorful candy apples and gourmet popcorn. The staff was super friendly and even offered samples so I could find my favorites. You can tell everything is made with love and care. The presentation of each treat is Instagram-worthy, and everything I tried tasted just as good as it looked. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Dayana Candy Kitchen is a must-stop. I’ll definitely be back to stock up and try more. Highly recommend!

This store was nostalgic for me. Tons of childhood candies and everything childhood related, I.e metal lunch boxes. Sweetness all around. The hubs for the Caramel Taffy Apple and Peanut Brittle. He said the Taffy Apple was good and he’s not had his brittle yet. Service was prompt. Store was busy. Staff was lovely. Family owned, which was good to know!

OMG!!! When you walk into this store you immediately get the smell of goodness!! You don’t know where to look first. There is candy, popcorn, fudge and the list the goes on and on! It’s like you don’t want to leave. We looked at everything but we got Peanut Brittle, Cinnamon Roasted Peanut's and a soda in an old fashioned bottle! We would have gotten some chocolate to take for later, but it was super hot out so we did not want it to melt. Do not miss this store on your trip!🍭🍬

Their pralines are to die for!! I purchased a pound and a half and ate them all myself. The men handing out the praline samples were also the sweetest. They have my 9 year old multiple handfuls because they were just that good. Next time you’re in Savannah I highly recommend making a visit here!

The UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium, situated on Skidaway Island near Downtown Savannah, offers a captivating experience for visitors of all ages. With over 200 marine animals in 16 exhibit tanks, including horseshoe crabs, stingrays, lionfish, and sea turtles, it's an ideal destination for families. The aquarium also features touch tanks with creatures from tidal creeks and ocean beaches. Visitors can learn about Georgia's coastal wildlife and ecosystems through revolving exhibits.
We had a wonderful experience at the UGA aquarium. While it’s not very large, it’s thoughtfully organized. If you’re seeking a more relaxed and less crowded aquarium visit, this is the perfect spot.

Overall we had a great experience! My 11 year old loved the touch tanks and the staff was incredibly helpful and provide wonderful education on the species. It was small and although they advertise the amount of tanks (I think around 16), they were smaller tanks all next to each other so it doesn’t take very long to see everything. Because of that my only gripe would be the the driving distance (we stayed in Pooler and had to drive 50 minutes). So for the distance I don’t know that I would visit again.
Kelly P — Google review
Great fun at a great value! I cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you have young kids! We had a blast watching our little one run around the aquarium area looking at all the fish. For the low entry fee this was a home run. The front staff were extremely friendly and very kid friendly, the walking path they have was stroller friendly as well, and seeing little crabs running across made ours and our toddlers day. Decided to give UGA a try while in town and we were not disappointed at all.

We came 2 years ago and it was so amazing. There were so many things to do and look at for the kids. I was really disappointed this time to find out there were no rooms open for the kids to visit. It's VERY small and VERY limited. They used to have microscopes and turtles and all kinds of things to look at and interact with, but not anymore.
Amanda L — Google review
A really neat experience! Small but nice aquarium with a great walking trail.
John S — Google review
This is a fantastic aquarium and nature walk. We enjoy walking the trail, going out on the dock, and sitting by the water. We most recently went for their Marine Science Day and had a blast! It was completely free (minus food, if you wanted to buy it). They had so many great organizations taking part and we learned about programs we didn't even know were here! They also had the research labs open. It was interesting to view different marine life under microscopes, learn about the ocean water, and of course the marine animals. You definitely don't have to have young children to go here for a visit. My husband and I have gone alone, and when our daughter was younger, and this most recent time, she was almost 12. Check it out!

The Savannah Theatre, established in 1818, is a historic and iconic venue that offers a diverse range of musical plays and shows. The talented cast delivers high-energy performances throughout the year, featuring an array of music from different eras. Some past and upcoming performances include Jukebox Journey, Savannah Live, The Beat Goes On, and Christmas Tradition. The theater itself is housed in the Historic Savannah Theatre building on Chippewa Square, designed by British architect William Jay.
Went on a ghost hunt on Friday, June 13 2025 and it was AMAZING! I’ve been a paranormal investigator for over 15 years and the Savannah theater has been on my list for many years! The time finally arrived and I was so excited! Micah and Courtney were our hosts and gave us the deep and prolific history, how all of the equipment is used and let us go anywhere to investigate! Some things I’d like to keep to myself but it was such a meaningful experience! Thank you Micah and Courtney for being wonderful guides and good stewards of this wonderfully special place! Great experience on Halloween night. Paranormal experience. My son and I had many personal experiences. Got to interact with the umm residents through spirit box emf detectors and so much more. Micha and Courtney are obviously very passionate about what they do. Always very engaging. They give you the freedom to do your own investigation and yet are always checking in to assist you, give suggestions, or talk to the residents themselves. It was really nice to see how much they had respect for the spirits that still reside there and the history of the building. They are very open to expanding their understanding as well. My son and I can't wait to go back. IMO the theater was a five star. And Micha and Courtney were 5 star. They really bring the place to life with their passion for the theater and what they do. Thank you Micha and Courtney! With much gratitude from Beaufort!

A Must-Visit in Savannah! The Savannah Theatre is an amazing blend of history and local charm, while still delivering a true Broadway feel. Every performer on stage brings the show to life with energy and talent. The sound quality is excellent, and the seating is as comfortable as a movie theater. The lobby offers light refreshments for purchase during intermission, and balcony seating is also available. We absolutely love coming here — in fact, we make trips to Savannah just to see the shows. It’s always a highlight of our visit!

Bright my granddaughter to see Hairspray. The cast presentation was excellent. My only complaint was the lack of restrooms space during the intermission. Other than that perfect place to see a production

Little Shop of Hoorors was just the latest fun production we attended. It was very professionally done with top notch casting and transformative set design. The leads playing Audrey and Seymour have incredible voices and stage presence. Audrey 2 was monstrously good and, at the end, my question of whether it was automated or performed by a puppeteer was answered when their star puppeteer popped out of the plant! The whole cast shone bright! A++ Every show we've seen here has been a delight. But my favorite is the Christmas variety show they put on every year. We never miss it! The performance has something for everyone and never fails to get my whole family in the holiday spirit. If you're a fan of musical theatre get your tickets to any performance. You won't be disappointed!

The Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters is a museum located in Savannah, Georgia. Built in 1819, this English Regency-style house was once owned by the Owens-Thomas family and later donated to become part of Savannah's Telfair Museums. The museum showcases the lives of the slaves who lived and worked in the house, including their living quarters with hand-painted ceilings in haint blue, believed to ward off evil spirits.
I'm glad we toured this place. Our kids loved the history and the very knowledgeable staff/tour guides, made the history of the house and how it was ran, very imaginable. The house is very well preserved and the story of the house itself is intriguing. Our kids were fascinated. At the end of the tour, you are able to read the captured notes from letters sent from some of the home's inhabitants. Pictures are welcomed! I wish I would've taken more, but I was REALLY intrigued.

We didn’t book in advance but were able to join a group beginning a guided tour almost immaculate. The guide was outstanding. It’s an interesting visit in terms of the unique architecture, the view of life at that time in such a home with enslaved people an integral part of the system, and the unique historical roles played by some of the inhabitants. So, a small place, a home, but an experience that’s interesting and revealing on several levels. We’re glad we stumbled onto this place.

A powerful and beautifully preserved piece of Savannah’s history. The Owens-Thomas House offers a rare blend of stunning Regency architecture and honest storytelling about both the wealthy family and the enslaved people who lived there. The restored slave quarters are especially moving. Guided tours are informative and well-paced. Highly recommend for a meaningful and educational experience.

Excellent opportunity to learn the true history of Savannah including the treatment of enslaved people. The tour was very accurate full of details of the period. The home itself is amazing and well-kept.

The best thing about this tour was our guide. He artfully contrasted the life of the mansion's owners with those of the enslaved people who served there. This is why I think it's an important tour for anyone interested in Savannah, and American, history. Plus, your ticket gives you access to the other two Telfair Museums which are both worth visiting.

So happy with the visit! Lots of rich history, great restoration! Can't believe we spent 3 hours in there, wow. Many aspects were explained that i never learned about in school. I would definitely go again, they're adding more displays and aircraft, can't wait to see it finished! Plenty of choices in the gift shop, wasn't expecting to get anything in there but wow.

This museum is awesome. Been wanting to stop after passing it multiple times off of 95. Glad I did, and wish I did sooner. Artifacts and exhibits are really cool. They have some great stuff on display and staff is passionate and knowledgeable on the 8th Air Force. Admission was cheap compared to other museums, definitely a good place to check out on your travels.

Great museum dedicated to the mighty 8th. You can easily spend a few hours here. (Put a few bucks in the donation box by the B17) under the P51. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Be sure to check out the outdoor area also. There you will find a chapel with amazing stained glass and a B47 stratojet.

Opened in 1996, this beautiful museum gives tribute to the historic Eighth Air Force, known as the Mighty Eighth. The story began in January 1942 in Savannah Georgia, when the United States Army Corps assigned seven men without a single aircraft to a newly formed 8th Air Force. In time, the Mighty 8th became the largest air armada in the world. Their strength and actions paved the way for the D-Day invasion, and contributed significantly to the liberation of occupied Europe. The cost of ridding the Nazi scourge was 26,000 Eighth airmen killed, and another 28,000 became Prisoners of War. Their combined valor earned them 17 Medals of Honor, 220 Distinguished Service Crosses, and more than 420,000 Air Medals. This museum does a a fantastic job of Honoring all the men and women who served in the Mighty 8th, and I believe that everyone is remembered. The Chapel of the Fallen Eagles was built in 2002 as a non-denominational place of worship dedicated to the members of the 8th Air Force who perished during World War II and later conflicts. It is designed to resemble a 16th century English Chapel, reflecting the historical ties to the Eighth Air Force's bases in England. Click on the photographs to enlarge for reading and detail. Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is a vast 29,000-acre area that offers a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore the refuge through a 4-mile wildlife drive, hiking and biking trails. The refuge is home to diverse wildlife and provides opportunities for up-close encounters with nature. With its scenic woodland and marshland, it's an ideal spot for picnics, canoe rides, and birdwatching.
This is an awesome place to see wild alligators and have a chance to get close to them (safely!) We saw lots of gators and one of them just happened to be right there outside our window. They were very chill. Also saw lots of birds, turtles, and water snakes possibly. Super cool experience. And it’s a self guided driving tour which you can take your time to see everything at ease. I really love this place!

My husband and I spent about 3 hours here both at the center and the drive through. It was so nice to be able to drive through, get out and walk around, take pictures and really take in and enjoy the nature. Beautiful landscapes and birds to see. Spotted a few alligators as well! Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and people looking for budget friendly activities while also getting to learn about nature preservation efforts in the area.

Amazing. Even first week of November we saw five crocodiles… you have to walk or drive at three KM per hour and look out for them on the banks or swimming. We went between 10 and 11 o’clock when it was hot enough for them to sunbathe… also amazing for birds!

First time visit and truly is a beautiful scenic drive. You are met at the entrance by a larger than life oak tree covered in Spanish Moss - they say if you listen close enough you can hear a radio playing an Elvis song. Something magical about this place. Highly recommend visiting!

Just a beautiful drive on a 65-degree day in October 2025. Nature trails, beautiful scenery, alligators, plenty of birds. I spent about 2 hours 45 minutes driving through, with plenty of places to pull over and a couple of small walks.
Jeff B — Google review
We saw so many alligators on the public wildlife drive that's down the road from the visitor center. The children and I had so much fun. There is one outdoor restroom on the wildlife drive. Saved me when my little ones needed to potty after too much liquid on our drive. There were and are bugs, of course, so be prepared for that. As well as stay alert for other wildlife but overall it was a great day trip.

We live visiting! So many birds and gators!! Being your binoculars. There's plenty of room for you to go slow and observe (you can pull to the side to let others pass you if needed). Some people rush through, but you see so much more if you take your time and really look!

This is one of my favorite places to go birding. There’s a large number of wild animals, and you can see many of them from your car. There’s also trails where you can walk through some areas of the refuge. This place is known for the large number of alligators, and I have seen many of them every time I have visited.

Aside from being one of the ugliest parks in the city, this square feels dangerous with beggars and addicts all day and drunks all night. Savannah might look nice but places like this remind you that the city is in a sorry state.

I had the remarkable opportunity to attend the opening game at George Steinbrenner Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida, right after landing from Australia. As a long-time follower of the team through social media, my expectations were sky-high, and I was not disappointed. This event was not just a game, but a full-on entertainment experience that surpassed any sporting event I’ve witnessed either in Australia or the US. The atmosphere was electric with non-stop music and exceptional performances that perfectly complemented the game. The Bananas have truly mastered the art of blending the beloved game of baseball with a spectacularly fun and family-friendly environment. It was an unforgettable experience and hands down the best family sporting event I've ever attended. I only wish my family could have been there to enjoy it with me. Congratulations to the Bananas for creating a perfect formula that turns a baseball game into the most fun and memorable family event! If you're looking for an unmatched sporting experience, this is the place to be.

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room is a long-standing family-owned Southern diner in Savannah, serving up generous portions of traditional Southern cuisine at communal tables since 1943. This popular spot has attracted attention from notable figures like President Obama and continues to draw crowds with its family-style meals featuring fried chicken, butter beans, red rice, collard greens, mac and cheese, and candied yams.
We had the chance to visit Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room while in Savannah, and let me tell you, it was 100% worth the wait! The family-style setup was such a unique and special experience. I think there were 22 or 23 bowls of food on the table. Everything from fried chicken to collard greens, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, and more. Every bite tasted like it came straight from someone’s home kitchen. Even though the day was very hot, the staff was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. They made sure everyone was taken care of, offering water, shade, and kind words to help us through the wait. Their warmth and care made it all the more enjoyable. If you’re in Savannah and want a real taste of Southern cooking and hospitality, don’t miss Mrs. Wilkes. It’s more than a meal, it’s a memorable experience. But the food will always be worth the wait!!
Kyle M — Google review
Waited for about 30 min in a line outside to enter. There are only about 5-6 large tables inside and you are seated with people you don’t know but you quickly get to know everyone. Food is served family-style in bowls which are then passed around the table (like an old fashioned sit-down family meal). Ambiance is great. Food is tasty and plentiful, and service is friendly and top notch. Restaurant is located on a beautiful street - definitely recommend for a one-of-a-kind experience! If looking for fancy, fine dining this isn’t it. You’ll get nothing but down home southern comfort food and hospitality here. No menu to order from - family-sized portions are already on the table when you enter (all you can eat). It’s more like visiting someone’s home for a meal rather than being served.
Ell T — Google review
Yes the is a usually a wait to get in, but grab a beverage and line up - you will not be disappointed. This is family style dining NOT to be missed if you’re visiting Savannah. It’s a set menu, the food is soul food - collards, fried chicken etc. it’s like having lunch with your new friends and family. A great experience and only $40 - a bargain.

If you’re anywhere near Savannah, you must go to Mrs. Wilkes for a meal. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine Southern hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the kind of place where it feels like Sunday dinner at Grandma’s — if Grandma happened to be a five-star cook. The meal was served family-style, and it was a true Southern spread — generous, hearty, and absolutely delicious. The meats were the undeniable stars of the table: tender fried chicken with perfectly crispy skin, smoky pulled pork that melted in your mouth, and slow-cooked beef stew. Each meat was cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and clearly made with love. The sides were no afterthought either. We were treated to creamy mac and cheese, tangy collard greens, buttery cornbread, fluffy mashed potatoes with rich gravy, fried okra, and so many more. Every dish had its own distinct flavor and homemade charm — nothing tasted store-bought or rushed. The balance of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors was spot on, and everything was served piping hot and replenished with a smile. What really elevated the whole experience was the service. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, always ready with a fresh pitcher of sweet tea or a recommendation for what to try next. They made us feel like we were part of the family — something you just can’t fake. If you’re craving a meal that’s both comforting and deeply satisfying, this Southern family-style spot delivers in every way. Come hungry, leave happy, and don’t forget to save room for the peach cobbler and banana pudding, they are sweet ending to a truly spectacular meal.

We went to Savanna Georgia on a day trip. We heard the place to eat was Mrs. Wilkes. We stood in line for 2 hours. We made friends while waiting to get in line. It’s a family style all you can eat restaurant. you sit next to people you don’t know and talk about everything and you get to know them and become friends. The food service was great. This was a super fun and delicious dining experience that you must try at least once when coming to Savanna, Georgia! Our family gathered here for a meal none of us will soon forget! when the mash potatoes hit my mouth, followed by fried chicken and okra, sweet potato soufflé and creamed corn I was transported to my own mother’s kitchen and all the flavors that reminded me of home! What a treat to share with family! Plan on waiting in line and bring your best attitude and biggest appetite for a memorable time!

Delicious classic southern cooking served family style. Every dish was amazing, so come hungry! The fried chicken and greens were some of the best I've ever had. Fair warning, it's first come first serve and they're open until they run out of food. You will wait in line outside, but once you're seated you eat immediately. Cash Only!
Kasindra V — Google review
Have to go at least once. A Savanah institution. Went on a Monday. Line already formed at 11:15. One group was inside for first seating. Waited an hour. Tables of ten... you and whoever. Dishes passed family-style. Most everything you'd want cooked southern style. Collard greens, creamed corn, black eye peas, red rice, mashed potatoes, biscuits, cornbread, chicken, pulled pork bbq. Dishes are refilled. Only option is sweet iced tea (but you can request unsweetened). Dessert was banana pudding or peach conner cobbler. All very good. Not especially exceptional, but the food is definitely good. This is the south. Don't expect anything al dente. We COOK food. When you are finished, leave when you want (not dismissed as a table), take your plates, utensils and glass to the kitchen door. Someone in the family tells the story of the restaurant while you wait in line outside. Mrs. Wilkes is no longer living (1906-2001). Her family is carrying on the tradition. Small gift shop inside. Tees, aprons, cook books (signed by family member, stamped with Mrs. Wilkes' signature $20.) All-in-all a fun experience. You certainly don't leave hungry.

Beautiful house full of history the 30 minute tour only takes you through the 1st floor because the family still lives on the upper floor of the home. River Street Sweets is a renowned candy store that offers an array of delectable treats, including homemade pralines, bear claws, glazed pecans, and ice cream. Originating as a gift store in 1978, it has evolved into Savannah's oldest candy shop. In addition to their famous pecan pralines, the shop also features baked goods, saltwater taffy, and fudge.
Took a stroll into River Street Sweets with my two kids and walked out with full hands and even fuller smiles. We came for their famous pralines and they’re dangerously good. suddenly we were ending getting everything from there The whole place feels like stepping into a candy dream, shelves of colorful sweets, the smell of sugar in the air, and wide eyes from kids (and adults alike). The Pin Point Heritage Museum is a must-visit in Savannah, offering a unique and insightful experience. The museum provides an accurate portrayal of life for both the wealthy homeowners and the enslaved individuals who lived there. It doesn't shy away from showcasing the harsh realities, with exhibits including the living conditions of enslaved nursemaids and documented abuse. Operated by the Coastal Heritage Society, this museum is part of a group of venues that offer combination tickets for access to multiple sites over three days.
Had a great day visiting this beautiful place. Loved hearing the stories of the Gullah women working, cleaning crabs, and oysters. The tour was fun and interesting. I bought a cookbook there and decided to go home and make Jambalaya. It's delish. 😋

It's always a treat to visit the Pin Point Heritage Museum in historical Pin Point, Savannah. My father's people are from the Gullah Geechee culture. They were enslaved from West Africa (Sierra Leone, Angola and other West African countries) forced to live/work in America. Their religion/spiritual practice is Seeking. This museum is a treasure and worth a visit. There is also a documentary entitled, Take Me To The Water and many books written about the Gullah Geechee culture. You should check them out! You will likely see a resident crawling around the museum, the Fiddler crab. The other natural beauty that is throughout Savannah are the mighty water oak trees draped with Spanish moss. They add to the charm of the city. 🫶🏽🙏🏽😊

I found this museum using ChatGPT looking for African American tours for my Ashanti Too Book Club from Memphis TN celebrating our 20 year anniversary. The club had 13 members to attending the tour. The tour was outstanding I strongly recommend this tour to everyone. The video, the tour guide and the exhibits were so enthralling that we didn’t want it to end. The tour was too short we could have listened for another hour. The cost of $15 was so inexpensive for the quality of the tour. A must see and visit when you come to Savannah.
Betty D — Google review
I highly recommend visiting this museum, located in the former A.S. Varn & Son Oyster and Crab Factory (on the banks of the famous Moon River!), which was vital to the local economy until 1985. The exhibits vividly illustrate how Gullah Geechee families lived, showcasing tools for seafood harvesting, handmade toys, and everyday objects that highlight the community’s creativity and resourcefulness. Our guide was excellent. She shared real insights and personal stories, providing a deeper understanding of the culture, traditions, and language of the Gullah Geechee people. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. This museum offers a link to the past and ensures that the legacy of Pin Point continues to be studied and appreciated for generations to come.

Very interesting. Experience the history of the Gulla Geechees, originally from West Africa who created a shrimp and oyster industry in Pin Point. About 100 Gulla Geechees still live in the area. The Moon River, from the song, is located there. Everyone should visit.

We had a history-filled tour with Gail, who has lived in Pin Point her whole life. It included a half-hour documentary detailing the history of the community and the crab and oyster business which sustained them for more than a century. The buildings included photos of the people who had worked there and recordings of their voices talking about the work. There's a gift shop where mementos, tees, books and other memorabilia can be purchased. A unique experience. Note: Parking cannot accommodate RVs over 20 feet.

This spot was the 2nd "Must See" place on my list. It was amazing and David was an exceptional host. This guy was full of knowledge and jokes. He even gave us a pop-quiz at the end. LOL After this visit, we went on to the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum and I recommended the Pin Point Heritage to EVERYONE. Hopefully, the went over there. I want to go back again because it was peaceful sitting on the dock and looking at the marsh area. Thanks David

Cool experience! Thought it was worth the $10/person entry fee. Make sure to check hours as when we went it was just open Thursday through Saturday; also sounds like the last guided tour may end at two so go earlier as the guided tour portion was worth it. There was an interesting video that we enjoyed watching. Then a passionate tour guide took us around the property explaining things along the way; he was patient with our many questions. Then afterwards we took some time to explore on our own. Overall we were there for about an hour and a half perhaps, though you could spend more or less as desired.

I love this Market! So much cool stuff. Loads of different kinds of art. Oddities, gods figurines, hot sauces, flavored honey. The Metal art is so amazing! The artist is extremely talented. Jewelry, bags, decor, henna. There was a food cart catering to dogs 🐕😍 It was so cool to see all the cool things that are here. I got to get a selfie with a shrunken head pure awesomeness! River Street in Savannah, GA, is a delightful destination that beautifully blends history, charm, and scenic views along the Savannah River. I took my wife there for her birthday, and it was her first time experiencing this lovely city. We began our day at the River House Seafood restaurant, which offered a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with views of the river enhancing our meal. The seafood was fresh and flavorful; we particularly enjoyed the Lobster & Shrimp Roll which was a perfect Southern touch. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel special on this celebratory occasion. After lunch, we strolled along the cobblestone streets, which added to the historical charm of the area. The local shops were a treasure trove of unique finds, from artisan crafts to specialty foods. Each store had its own character, and we enjoyed chatting with the shopkeepers who were eager to share the stories behind their goods. We also visited the outdoor marketplace, where we found local produce, handmade goods, and delicious treats. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with the sounds of street performers and the scent of fresh food, made for a perfect afternoon. Overall, River Street is a wonderful spot for anyone looking to soak in the charm of Savannah. It’s a mix of great food, shopping, and picturesque views, making it an ideal place for special occasions or just a relaxing getaway. My wife loved her first experience in Savannah, and River Street played a significant role in making it memorable. We can’t wait to return!

Tricentennial Park is a captivating destination in West Savannah, managed by the Coastal Heritage Society, that brings together history and family fun. This remarkable complex features three engaging museums: the Savannah History Museum, which showcases fascinating artifacts; the Georgia State Railroad Museum, home to the last antebellum railroad in America; and the interactive Savannah Children's Museum designed for young explorers. Visitors can also pay their respects at Battlefield Memorial Park, dedicated to soldiers from one of the American Revolution's bloodiest battles.

Savannah Riverboat Cruises offer a unique and unforgettable way to experience the city. You can choose between the River Queen or the Georgia Queen, both iconic riverboats that take you on a 90-minute tour of Savannah. The cruises depart from River Street, allowing you to enjoy refreshing river breezes and stunning views of the city. In addition to sightseeing cruises, they also offer dining experiences including luncheon, brunch, dinner entertainment, sunset, and gospel dinner cruises.
We enjoyed going on the sunset cruise and truly had a wonderful time! The views along the Savannah River were breathtaking, especially as the sun dipped below the city skyline. The atmosphere was peaceful and inviting, the staff was incredibly friendly, and everything was smoothly run. It was a perfect way to wrap up a beautiful day in Savannah, definitely something I would recommend to everyone!

My husband and I did an afternoon riverboat cruise with our 9 month old. It was a lot of fun, very relaxing way to just take a break from exploring on foot and spend 90 minutes learning more about the area and the river. The boat is really cool and feels like a novelty to be on. We got a couple of drinks that weren't anything special but they were strong, so can’t complain. The guide over the speaker was nice and informative, definitely entertaining. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and helpful, everyone was in a good mood. We did have a stroller with us so we were able to make it to the 3rd floor only by elevator, the top deck was pretty inaccessible unless we took everything out and folded it up to carry it. So I’d say the top deck isn’t very accessible for wheelchairs or families with strollers, just something to think about. The photos taken were a sweet and easy souvenir! I’d say you have to do this at least once!

Went on the dinner cruise, 2 hours 7pm to 9pm. Got seated had buffet chicken, prime rib & fish, veggies, potatoes, salad, rolls & desert. Drinks were good, waitress got everything we needed. Music on deck 2 was great, all that & the price was right. would recommend 100%.

Took the lunch included riverboat cruise, food was good, service was excellent, the boat is huge and fun to walk around. Narration was informative, just wished they could make the giant paddle wheel in the back turn, like the Natchez in New Orleans, just for show anyway. Recommended.

We had such an awesome experience on the Riverboat Cruize. Such a fun way to relax and learn about the area and even some fun facts about the boat itself. We went on the scenic cruise so I can't speak for the food other than their drinks and ice cream, both of which we really enjoyed. If you are visiting Savannah I highly recommend doing this. We also coupled this with the Trolley tour and learned so much about the area between the 2 different experiences.

Ah such a fun spot to play tourist! We did the dinner cruise and it was an experience! Fun band, decent food and the drink menu was pretty basic. Our Server, Radika, was such a sweetheart! We didn't know that they have different live music styles, so that would have maybe changed the night we went, but overall a must-do for a tourist! We do wish the website or table tent relayed information about the fact that gratuities were not included! We found that out after we ate so as industry people we were a little bummed! Got to take care of your people!
Ruthie P — Google review
I went in the sunset cruise with a large group. This was my first experience on a cruise because I get extremely motion sick in cars and on planes. Once I moved from inside of the third floor up to the open fourth floor my body regulated from seeing the open water and feeling the strong breeze blowing through my curls. I wasn’t motion sick any of the two hours and had an absolute blast. Between our large group and the other passengers being totally fun we all enjoyed dancing hard, laughing hard, chatting, and completely enjoying ourselves while making unforgettable memories. The views of Savannah at night from the river were beautiful. The sunset was absolutely perfect… The only negative was the food. It was overly seasoned and not the best. There looked to only be one cook for the entire boat. The food is a pass. Have dinner on the shore.

Old Savannah Tours offers a relaxing hop-on-hop-off trolley tour that takes visitors through the historic streets of Savannah. The tour features costumed characters who bring the city's history to life at select stops, including notable figures like William Jay and Forrest Gump. With 14 stops throughout the city, visitors can explore at their own pace or opt for a 100-minute guided tour covering 270 years of history.
We decided to partake in the Savannah trolley ghost tour with Old Savannah Tours. The tour was one of the more affordable options in Savannah. You must arrive on time as the trolley pretty much left right the desired time. The trolley seats are first come first serve and when you sit up front you can see the “ghostly” visitors more closely…. The tour takes you all around the Savannah area where they show you every significant spooky location. At every location your guide will give you a history lesson and story about why the place is spooky. Some locations there will be a spooky visitor who will interact with the group. The tour eventually ends up at the Telfair Museum of Art where you can explore the museum. The guide will then give you a scary story that will embrace you in the museums spooky atmosphere. In all, the tour was very worth it. The guide and actors really made the experience wonderful. The actors took their job so serious and the guide was hilarious. The only gripe I had was that you can’t get out at each location which would’ve been more immersive. I would recommend Old Savannah Tours trolley ghost tour if you want an entertaining, spooky, fun, and relaxing tour of Savannah.

Best city tour we ever went on. We travel all over the country and do tours to learn more before we explore. While we have been in Savannah several times, first time taking a tour. Big E was by far the best tour guide we have experienced in any city. Funny, knowledgable, and made the time go so quickly. Have recommended to all friends going to ask to have him as their driver.

Best city tour I’ve ever been on! We traveled with Hampton Malone (tour guide) and he was incredible! He had us laughing several times and was very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah as well as current happenings in the city. An incredible welcome to Savannah! Highly recommend this tour over all others. Additional notes — the trolly itself was beautiful, they offered hand held fans to keep us cool, and provided parking free of charge. Thank you Hampton!

Recommend doing a tour as one of your first activities in Savannah. Many to choose from, we chose Old Savannah. They are family owned and local. We did the on-off option for one day. Worth the extra few dollars. We used four different busses. Took our first tour through all stops, then went on others to see different sites we wanted to revisit. Each buss we used had a different driver and each was informative and had some different topics or historical facts they shared. Worth the time.

We were on our way to Sugar Mountain and decided to stop in Savannah for a few days to break up the drive. We’re so glad we did, because one of the highlights of our visit was taking the Old Savannah Tours trolley. The tour was excellent from start to finish—relaxing, informative, and full of charm. It gave us a great overview of the city’s rich history while allowing us to sit back and enjoy the sights. What made it truly memorable were the live character appearances throughout the ride. Actors dressed as figures from different eras in Savannah’s past hopped on and off the trolley, sharing short stories and interacting with passengers in a way that brought history to life. It added such a unique and entertaining touch to the experience. My daughters especially loved when Forrest Gump made a surprise appearance—they were thrilled and talked about it for the rest of the day. The tour was not only educational but also genuinely fun for both kids and adults. It was a wonderful introduction to Savannah and helped us appreciate the city on a deeper level. We’re so happy we chose to do this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah, especially families looking for something engaging and memorable.

My friend from Texas came to visit and I always take people to Savannah but I have never done the tours. Well today we did the Old Savannah Tours. It started with a wonderful many named Mr Leroy he was an amazing spirit. Then Mr John gave us a wonder narrative tour of Savannah. He was just a dream. He answered all questions with honesty and accuracy. I even asked some questions about restaurants and just living in Savannah. I plan on coming back with my friend who said he didn’t like Savannah but he didn’t take this tour. I know he will fall in love with the knowledge of Mr John and Savannah will be his new favorite destination.

We did a little research to find a great city tour and Old Savanna Tours was our choice. We liked how they were locally owned and have been in the tour business in Savannah for a very long time. They show all the great sites and even have costumed people hop on and explain their local significance. The driver was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A really great tour.

The Olde Pink House is a top choice for experiencing authentic Southern cuisine in Savannah. Housed in an elegant 18th-century Georgian mansion, the restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience with portrait-lined walls, fireplaces, and shimmering chandeliers. The menu features inventive Southern dishes including seafood, beef, pork, and chicken options as well as classic Southern favorites like shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes.
The food was absolutely amazing!! The biscuits are fantastic, possibility the best I have ever had. We had the fried green tomatoes for our appetizer. I had the special, short ribs, my husband had the pecan crusted chicken. My husband and I ate here to celebrate our anniversary. The place is gorgeous, we failed to realize it is more of a casual dress style. However, they still let us enjoy our evening with them. We did have some trouble reading our menu due to the darkness of the room. They did have candles to make it more romantic but they did not give off enough light. The manager even remembered us and wished us a happy Anniversary on our way out!!

We made reservations for five at the Pink House months earlier and it was wonderful. The property is beautiful and is in a great location easy to walk to. The service was five star, they were attentive and answered all our questions. We ordered chicken pot pie, the bourbon glazed pork loin was medium rare and it paired well with the pecan glazed sweet potato and collared greens which were the best I ever had. The fried chicken looked great and the portion was generous. The interior was beautifully decorated. We sat in the green room which had a cozy fireplace and a magnificent chandelier. This was definitely a must see.

This was a fantastic dining experience from beginning to end. Our server Shaina was an absolute super star! She was tremendously welcoming and gracious and very helpful. It was obvious that she enjoys what she does and loves all the great things that The Olde Pink House brings to the table. She was extremely knowledgeable on the entire menu as well as the history of this special establishment. The food was absolutely delicious and full of great flavors that were fresh and cooked perfectly. The cocktails were excellent as well. Another nice touch was a very special woman that came around to sing a requested song or sing happy birthday. I was fortunate enough to request a tune and also sing a duet with her on Amazing Grace! Overall. It was a fantastic evening and one that will remain in my heart for a long time. Definitely worth checking out if you are in town!

Not to be missed, make a reservation. A lovely historic house with well trained staff. Food was creative and presented well. A little warm inside (they had the fires on low for some reason), - I felt it could have used a couple of fans to move the air. However a great restaurant and very popular for a reason.

Having dinner at the Olde Pink House was such a treat! Our server Issac was so sweet and knowledgeable, the food was perfect, and the atmosphere was a cozy and welcoming 10/10. We had the stuffed flounder, the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese, the southern sushi, the fried green tomatoes, and the chocolate tarte for dessert. Every item was equally delicious in its own right. We also popped downstairs to the tavern and would absolutely go back and have drinks and food there again! So cozy and historic and the live music was such a great touch.
Brittany W — Google review
We went for dinner for my birthday and thought the food was good but not excellent. It’s also a bit of a production as they come and get you when your table is ready from the bar downstairs but can’t transfer your bill to your table. The she crab soup and spring roll as appetizers were okay — would actually skip appetizers if I came back. Loved my grilled pork for the main though and the sweet potato was also delicious. The Mac and cheese and fried green tomato was just okay. The biscuit is the true shining star at this restaurant, so don’t skip out on that.

Do yourself a favor: go to The Olde Pink House while in Savannah. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed with big smiles and friendly Staff. We were seated by a charismatic Host in a great location upstairs. Our Server, Dennis, showed up immediately with a welcoming smile and caring, genuine attitude. He brought us some tasty homemade cheese straws, while we chose our entrees. We had great conversation with Dennis as he educated us on the history of the house and the city. We decided to get the fried chicken and the special, which was fried flounder in a tarragon spice on a bed of seafood risotto. I will tell you with all honesty that the fried chicken is the best we have ever had, and we are from the South. With every bite, you can taste the history of the house and the city. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, perfectly cooked. The chicken stayed hot from the time it arrived at the table to the last bite. It was truly magical. The special was also well cooked and full of flavor. Our experience was perfect and would absolutely go back. We've told everyone about the fried chicken and I could not wait to write a review so more people will know just how delicious it is. The Olde Pink House is full of character, personality, great Staff and wonderful food. Go to the Olde Pink House: you will be so glad you did.

We booked a table for lunch a month in advance. Dinner is more difficult to book. The setting is beautiful, in the historic district opposite savanna's Reynolds Square. The house dates from 1771 and it's classically appointed . The food and drinks were all tasty - classic Southern fare with creative twists. Service was attentive but a bit rushed. Worth a visit! The Savannah Historic District, also known as Downtown Savannah, is a must-visit area with its 18th and 19th-century architecture and picturesque public spaces. It's the heart of the city, boasting top attractions, hotels, restaurants, and well-preserved streets adorned with live oaks draped in Spanish moss. This district is a living museum that has retained its charm while being home to thriving residential neighborhoods.
Loved the Savannah Historic District! It's a beautiful and charming area that truly feels like stepping back in time. The architecture is stunning, with cobblestone streets, historic homes, and moss-draped oak trees creating a picturesque atmosphere around every corner. Forsyth Park is absolutely gorgeous! Simply stated, it’s one of the most beautiful cities you can visit. This time of year the weather is perfect for touring the town. Take the Trolley tour. There are 16 stops and the drivers are very knowledgeable about all the history and the buildings/homes. The selection of restaurants is incredible, ranging from burgers to fresh seafood. It’s also very walkable, within reason. Parking can be very difficult to find in the Garden District. Take the trolley, it’s goes to many places around the city.

Savannah is a beautiful city to explore!! Lots of history. We unfortunately only had a day, and it definitely wasn't enough time. We did the hop on hop off trolley tours. It was nice to have transportation around the area for the day while also having the freedom to just get off and explore. Which I highly recommend you do! The cemetery was very neat to see. I hope on our next trip to see more of what Savannah has to offer. These photos are just a glimpse into what we saw and what you can look forward to seeing yourself.

First time visiting Savannah and I fell in love! The tress are just a beautiful piece of the history here. Walking down the shops was pleasant. I enjoyed the candy store I don’t remember the name but they make the candy there and give you samples. It’s a great shop to visit and bring the kids when visiting here. Walking down the waterfront was also nice and watching the boats pass by was neat. There is so much to look at and visit. The shops have a variety of options and restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend visiting here with family. Make sure to check the weather because it can get hot.

The Webb Military Museum, located in historic downtown Savannah, is a unique institution with a modest-sized facility that houses an impressive collection of military artifacts. The museum's collection spans from the Civil War to modern conflicts like the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Visitors can explore a diverse array of items including uniforms, helmets, medals, and memorabilia from various wars and regions.
I really loved this place. we took a small group of kids for a field trip here, and they loved it. Their favorite part was the scavenger hunt they had so much fun. it also was a plus that all of the kids that went their dads are all veterans, so to see the history of each branch in which their dad's served was great. Everything was so authentic. I love history everything about, but what shocked me is my sister hates history, but she loved this place she said it brought history to life

The host was nice and knowledgeable about the memorabilia and history. She gave us incredible insight of the owners experiences. The scavenger hunt was fun and thought provoking. Active duty military gets free entry!

This was truly the highlight of my Savannah trip. The owner’s passion made the entire experience so much more engaging and insightful. The collection itself was absolutely mind blowing!! recommending this to everyone!!

My son is a huge military buff, and being 11 years old we were excited that he actually wanted to go to a museum lol. The moment we arrived we were welcomed by Webb himself (the owner of the museum). He was passionate, kind, intelligent, and well-versed with both history and his personal collection. I wouldn’t be surprised if we planned on going again in the near future. Things to know: parking is limited (pay to park), you can park and walk to it (garages are close proximity), it’s $10 to walk through the museum, and to get every little detail in plan on at least 45-60 minutes. Enjoy!!

This is a must see and is now my top recommendation for places in Savannah - the number and quality of the artifacts here rivals many much larger museums, displayed here with a personal touch and shockingly close access. If you are a military buff and want to closely examine and really “feel” the artifacts, this is the place to be.
Cooper — Google review
This museum contains military memorabilia collected over a lifetime. The collection is extremely comprehensive and covers every conflict from the Revolution to Operation Enduring Freedom. I particularly found the history of the Webb family during WW II very compelling.

I have never seen so many authentic military items in one place. The owner is so knowledgeable and full of interesting stories and family history that you may want to stay quite a while. What a gem. I highly recommend taking your kids to this museum.

The Webb Military Museum in Savannah is an absolute gem. It is packed wall to wall with incredible memorabilia from different eras and everywhere you look there is something fascinating to discover. The museum is full of educational facts that really bring history to life and I loved that they even have a scavenger hunt to help you explore the displays more closely. While the space might seem small at first glance it is truly filled to the brim with artifacts and you could easily spend an hour or more walking through and still be spotting new things. Arenas & Stadiums
Grayson Stadium, a circa-1926 4,000-seat baseball stadium, is the home of the Savannah Bananas minor league team. The stadium has a rich history and has hosted legendary players like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Ty Cobb and Jackie Robinson during Minor League exhibitions. It's a great place to take the family for an enjoyable summer pastime. Even if you're not into baseball, the lively atmosphere with music and dancing makes it entertaining for everyone.
The Savannah Bananas put on quite a show! It was lots of fun! There were lots of concession stands. The hamburgers were adequate. The popcorn and pretzels are good. The fountain drinks are generous. Having the food be included in the price is so convenient! When you go for your food stock up as it's hard to get in and out if you aren't on an aisle seat. People go very early and parking can be tricky.

We had great fun! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure the experience was the best thing ever. It was so hot, make sure you bring sunscreen and drink lots of water if you're there for a day game like we were!

Absolutely gorgeous old school baseball stadium. Came here for the Savannah Bananas Team Store and then checked out the field. Such a cool experience, nice to see how they keep it modern yet has those 'golden era' touches to a baseball field. The team store itself is small and may be limited to your size but it's cool it's open for fans to come by and purchase items, the staff was super friendly and chill. Overall great experience!

I had the pleasure of enjoying a Savannah Bananas game for my birthday. I got my tickets after market but the event is fun for all ages & with all it included it's a good price even after market. Their games are very crowd interactive & even in this GA heat when the sun starts to go down it's very nice. I recommend coming early both for parking & concessions before the game. The staff is all super nice & helpful. There's several food & drink options burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks ( water, soda, beer) all included with your ticket. I highly recommend enjoying a day at the park!

We had a fun time at the stadium watching Banana ball. The staff and players were very accommodating during the rain delay, and everyone provided a terrific family-friendly atmosphere.

Home of the savannah bananas, the stadium is over one hundred years old.Cool place to be at, the bananas put on a great show. They have a pre game, a regular show. And a post game, when the bananas are playing, it's free food, easy to get to and it was just a great experience

What a phenomenal experience it’s is seeing the Savannah Bananas on their home field! This was only my 2nd visit. And how perfect for families to not have to pay for food and drinks, it’s all included in price of admission. Left field landing does not have seats.

Coffee shop
Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe, located near Savannah's trendy Starland District, offers a family-friendly environment where parents can enjoy delicious coffee and snacks while their kids engage in daily arts and craft projects. The cafe provides smocks, easels, and paints for the little ones to unleash their creativity. After creating masterpieces, families can take a stroll around the neighborhood. The cafe serves sandwiches, bagels, and coffee from PERC Roasters.
Beyond Foxy, this is my go-to coffee shop in SAV. Usually without the lines, but all the charm due to the owner and kind staff. I feel like a local stepping in here and I’m always welcomed warmly. It’s dog friendly and they always have treats on deck. The coffee is great and the pastry selection is other worldly. Definitely worth coming here for your morning cup, sitting at the sidewalk cafe, and watching the slow Savannah life pass by.

My daughter had such a good time painting and doing crafts. Usually with children focused coffee shops the food and coffee are sub par, but not at this place. The pastries were delicious and the coffee was phenomenally made. As someone who loves coffee it was such a pleasure being able to enjoy good coffee while my daughter had a fantastic time.

Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe is an absolute gem! I recently visited and tried their glazed vegan donut, vegan lemon bread, and chai latte with oat milk. The cafe itself has such a warm, inviting vibe, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy good food while soaking in the creative atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back and try more! There are bike racks in front.

I love their coffee, it’s always delicious and consistent. But what I can’t get past is seeing the person making coffee pet dogs and then go right back to preparing drinks without washing his hands. Who does that in an establishment?!

Super cute spot with great coffee and delicious vegan donuts. Nice mini patio out front. Great selection of kids books and crafts.

Overall a good place for a drink and some breakfast. I had a mocha and two doughnuts all of which were great. Didn’t realize before entering but they had half of the shop set up such that arts/crafts could be done with children, which is really neat. We sat in that area not knowing but were thoroughly entertained by some of the family’s doing the activity.

A nice coffee shop/cafe with lots of vegan treats! It was really nice being able to find some vegan donuts, but compared to other large cities... The donuts are just ok, pretty basic and not fluffy/light. Also tried the vegan cookie dough brownie ... It was tasty and I'd recommend. Indoor and outdoor seating options available.
Robbie B — Google review
Fun place, great staff, and delicious baked goods. The donuts were a bit pricey but that’s expected since it’s vegan. I got the glazed donuts and a vegan brownie. The brownie; one of the BEST I’ve ever had. It had a soft, chewy texture that I loved along with a flavorful chocolate taste. And the donuts; light batter, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So good! I was hoping there would be more donut flavors, but I’ll have to come back next time to see. Super cute place, I definitely recommend it!

Savannah Ghost Tours™️ is a popular choice for those seeking to explore the haunted history of Savannah. The tour includes visits to some of the most notorious haunted locations in the city, such as the house featured in 'Forrest Gump' and HGTV's 'Ghost Adventures.' Visitors can opt for different types of tours, including history and architecture tours, historic walking tours, ghost tours, or even paranormal investigations.
We had such a great time on our tour. We all agreed that May was an exceptional your guide, friendly, fun and full of knowledge! I highly recommend the tour, especially with May! Definitely don't miss this tour when you're in Savannah! While everything was excellent we would kindly ask the others to review their policy of not allowing the tour to leave until the exact start time if the group is all accounted for. That felt pointless since it was a group of 3 people and we had to wait for 15 mins in order to start. Also, all of our headphones stopped working and the batteries in the spirit meters gave up mid-tour. May was wonderful about overcoming those issues and kept the tour going without a hitch!

Greetings! My family and I had the pleasure of having a ghost tour with Izzy last Friday June 28, 2024 and I wanted to let those concerned know that she was fantastic. Polite, professional, kind and so knowledgeable! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour especially because no one else booked that time slot so we basically had our own private tour! She handled my many, many questions with grace and patience. Thank you so much Izzy! From your Canadian friends Heather, Dave, Tommy and Jenny!

My experience with this was absolutely amazing! The ghost tour was very informative, and our host brought so much fun and energy to the tour. We also got to walk all over Downtown Savannah, and got the opportunity to talk to some of the ghosts as well. If you ever decide to do a ghost tour, make it this one and make sure Savannah is your tour guide! There are quite a few tours available in the area, but this one is my absolute favorite down here!

We went on a tour with Savannah Ghost tours on Halloween night. We couldn’t have picked A better night and we couldn’t have picked a better guide. The weather was beautiful, the city was packed with Halloween costumes. This wasn’t my first ghost tour in Savannah, but I learned stuff on this tour about the city that I hadn’t known before. Wendy was our guide and she really knows her stuff about the paranormal and the history of Savannah. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining as well. Highly recommended.

The Old Sorrel-Weed House Museum & Tours is a stunning Greek Revival mansion and museum located in Savannah, Georgia. It was built in the 1800s by renowned architect Charles B. Cluskey for Francis Sorrel, a prominent commission merchant from the West Indies. This historic landmark showcases exquisite Greek Revival and Regency Style architecture and has been designated as a state landmark since 1953. Over the years, it has welcomed notable visitors like General Robert E.
Amanda was a really cool guide. She knew alot of stuff, including which areas are most haunted. I did catch a thermal heat signature in the men’s parlor, but missed out on recording it. There were some huge temperature spikes.

Wanted to do the ghost tours for a long time. Wife and I came for a weekend trip she planned and decided to do a tour. We booked the Sorrel-Weed tour because we wanted to see the house as much as hearing the ghost tales, plus it was walking distance from where we were staying. Our original booking was changed to another slot for some reason but it worked out for us so no worries. There were about 12 other people on the tour. A little crowded but not bad. Our tour guide, Luna, was great; genuine and invested in the history, including her own stories. Wasn't the over the top acting we witnessed walking around the outside with other tour groups. Disappointed that the upstairs was not ready for touring but gives us something to come back to. The staging of the house was nice and darkened for atmosphere, of course. Wife had an auditory experience that I did not hear. Will mark this for a repeat trip. Well worth making it something to do on a night out.

We did the paranormal night tour and it was great. Our tour guide was beyond knowledgeable and never rushed us. The equipment was unique and the couple we got paired with were so much fun. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend & I came here to celebrate his 22nd birthday we did the night time paranormal investigation, not only did we have multiple encounters but we also made a few friends! Our tour guide was great (amber or aburey I’m terrible with names) ! My boyfriend got a lot of activity on the spirit box & I had a chilling conversation in the women’s parlor using dowsing rods, and to be honest I was really skeptical, really didn’t believe the responses we were getting until I was the one holding the rods. Outside of the equipment the energy radiating in the room was enough to make the experience worth the price. I really thought I would be scared & paranoid in a haunted old house but it’s like the more active it got the more excited and comfortable I got! This was an experience we will never forget & we will definitely be returning.

My husband and I went on the tour on July 1st. It was a great ghost/historical tour! I took several pictures out the window to the garden. If you look at the pictures in order you will notice a lady walking in the garden! She looks like she has a ponytail and wearing a blue and white dress. I took the pictures with live on so I can actually see her walking!!!

What a wonderful yet spooky experience!! Nora was the best tour guide! She was thorough with explaining the history and I liked how she gave the possible theories that are rumored to be the explanations of how things happened. Ny son has been researching this place for months he was so excited. Nora answered any questions that came up. She even offered to send a link to any creepy footage any guests encountered while on the tour. I will say....the hooded man's breezeway.....my son didnt see him in the breezeway but he did see him in the first floor foyer! It was funny to see the outside walking tours as we were walking up the steps to start the tour and the guides were saying "This is the Sorrel house, and look those are braver souls than I". She also goves you some extra time on each floor to explor a bit and take photos, no flash to preserve the arsuch of course. Highly recommend!!

I took the architecture tour. So worth it! Our guide, Selah, was great! Very informative, professional and made me feel welcome. The furnishings in the house are AMAZING! Please don't touch anything to preserve for the next visitors. The detail and beauty of the furniture and dining room place settings were exquisite. I recommend this tour.

The American Prohibition Museum in Savannah, GA is a captivating attraction that delves into the era of alcohol prohibition in the United States from 1920 to 1933. Situated near River Street, this unique museum offers an immersive experience through interactive exhibits and a collection of artifacts and memorabilia. Visitors can explore the impact of prohibition on American society while encountering live actors, lifelike wax figures, and vintage cars throughout the museum.
I thought I knew about Prohibition, and this museum proved there was more to the story. It is very well done, in a time period that I find haunting that as a country, we could approve a dramatic change to our constitution. It took 14 years to get back our freedom. It also was the basis to start income taxes to replace all the revenue government made off alcohol. There is so much to learn here. At the end, push the button in the door to enter the Speak Easy, where you will find some great drink selections. We all could learn a lesson here not to repeat in our country. When extreme views take charge, it takes a long time to correct!

Fun place, to me the history of moonshine is not totally accurate. They are leaving out some important facts and contributors to the history of moonshine and the affect it had on many people. I found it very interesting that the only information regarding, history, affect, class, government, distrubution, who ,where...etc how of the proabition era only highlights the caucasian view point. But when you get to the speakeasy in the second room off the bar on two corner walls they displayed a few african american musican that lived in the proabition era but their was know history of how, what or where on contribution, affect, livelyhood, nor government laws regarding proabition and the african american people /community nor other people of color that played a part in proabition era. But all the staff was very helpful and nice people they even dressed in that era and was very willing to give their scripted information about proabition and the affect it had on perticually one race of people from high class to poverty class. The speakeasy was at the end and once you get to that door it will make you laugh, because it was fun to know what people did to get into these unlawful establishments. Great photo ops in this place. I still think everyone needs to make this a stop when visiting savannh ga. Its easy to stroll through even if you have a walking disability their is a elevator so you will be able yo see the entire tour and bathroom is clean. The drinks are good. Service at bar was slow, they had one lady behind bar,but its was okay because the drink was worth the waite and the atmosphere nice. I truly enjoyed.I was their about 2hrs. Note if you want to have a actual alcohol drink you must go any day but Sunday, No alcohol servered in museum on sunday. Trust its made good "Mary Pickford"

I purchased my ticket to the museum as part of the city of Savannah’s HOHO trolley (at a reduced cost). The museum is right in the middle of downtown and is conveniently located at one of the trolley stops. There are many cute photo opps throughout the museum and it’s quite fun to go through. Would be a cool break from a hot, summer day walking around the city. You could probably spend 30-45 min in the museum (reading exhibits and viewing memorabilia), followed by 15 min having at drink at the speakeasy before exiting (extra cost for drinks). A cool little escape, just not something I’d go to Savannah specifically to do.

An amazing museum. Really dedicated to the history, lots of attention to detail. Loved the original items and the recreations. I deeply wish they had a better gift shop with things from the museum (replica pins, stickers with slogans, cool replica covert flasks, books on the topic etc) and not just coffee cups, decanters, and basic and not museum-oriented items.

Exploring this location was truly fascinating, offering a deep dive into a significant period. The exhibits provided an excellent understanding of the events surrounding the era. It also highlighted the various factors that contributed to its rise and eventual conclusion. Furthermore, the presentation effectively examined both the positive and negative consequences that followed. Overall, it was a very insightful and educational experience.

First African Baptist Church, established in 1773 under Reverend George Leile's leadership, is a significant landmark in Savannah. It was a crucial stop on the Underground Railroad and served as a sanctuary for slaves. The church offers guided tours where visitors can see original pews, a pipe organ, an archive room, and the former hiding place for slaves marked by ventilation holes.
A tour that you must do while in Savannah! Our tour guide, who was the associate minister, did an excellent job explaining the history behind this beautiful church and its congregation. Tours are normally at 11 am and 1 pm. The church website has more detailed information and you can purchase your tickets ahead of time online. The proceeds from the tickets go back to an amazing non profit that is associated with the church that supports job training and resources for those in need.

Plus the money from your tickets goes to their nonprofit that helps give people the tools they need to find jobs and get the rehabilitation they need.

What a lovely place to spend the day. There is a little cafe and gift shop, the exhibits themselves, and then there is a great courtyard and hangout spot outside where you can just sit and read or eat lunch. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and the exhibits were unique and beautiful. I'd come here every time I visit Savannah. It was so lovely listening to students talk to their professors about art and architecture; SCAD is the best. Pro tip: if you get into the city before check-in time like I did, they will check your luggage for you. You can hang out here and walk all around to other places without having to carry around your bags. Tickets are only $10 and worth every penny.

Very interesting exhibit of contemporary art of SCAD alumni. Some exquisite; some pretty "off the wall"; one video-based exhibit was nearly epilepsy-indicing --- not enjoyable at all: trying to express his childhood traumas, but still somewhat interesting. The Flannery O'Connor Childhood Home Museum is a restored house where the acclaimed American author lived from her birth in 1925 until 1938. The home offers regular tours and hosts community events, including a fall reception with lectures by experts discussing different aspects of O'Connor's life and work.
Flannery O’Connor, an important author of fiction set in the American South, lived in this house (built in 1856) until she was 13 years old. The tour of the house shows her life during those early years and how that experience helped shape her writing. O’Connor had a unique personality even as a child—she loved to read (the bathtub was her favorite spot!), invited her friends over and read out loud to them, and wrote critical notes on the stories she had read. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable about O’Connor, her family, and Savannah in the early 20th century. Highly recommended!

This tour was a highlight of my week in Savannah! I love to visit literary locations when I’m in a new city, and this tour did not disappoint! The tour guide, Jo, was lively and informative. My husband went in without and prior O’Connor knowledge and really enjoyed the tour as well. Great merch! 😉 📚
Corrie K — Google review
I'm admittedly biased, as Flannery O'Connor is my absolute favorite writer, but I do think that any literature or history fan would enjoy this tour. The house is small, given that it's an actual middle-class home from the early 20th century. There are about a dozen or so, maybe fewer, original pieces owned by the O'Connor family on display; the rest of the furniture is made up of period-accurate pieces that the foundation has done an excellent job of acquiring to emulate what the house must have been like in Flannery's childhood. The entire tour will take less than an hour. What made this really special to me was connecting with Mary and Janie, our tour guide and the director of the FOCH, respectively. It's rare that I get to talk about O'Connor and her work with other folks who are genuine fans. Given my love for O'Connor's writing, my wife planned this as the first stop on our visit to the Savannah. It's always interesting to learn about the lives of other people, and it's of course especially fulfilling to flesh out one's understanding of a prominent person, particularly when it's of one's interest. Being able to talk to Mary and Janie, and see Flannery's childhood home and learn about her as a young girl that grew up to be an all-20th century writer of English prose, will add nuance and dimension to my future readings and rereadings of her work. It's also great that this wasn't a museum that served as a hagiography or tried to oversell Flannery O'Connor as a Savannah resident or American artist. It's purely educational and a simple, hearty experience that fills the soul.

If you like Flannery O'Connor even a little bit, it's worth adding this to your itinerary. You can schedule a full guided tour or pop in during open hours to take a selfie guided tour of the first floor. A sweet and knowledgeable bosun was fun to discuss Flannery's life and writings as well as discuss the period pieces in the home. For bibliophiles, be sure to grab a copy of your favorite title from the gift shop to get it embossed.

My partner and I were fortunate to be the only ones in our tour group, so we had the opportunity to pick out your guide's brain as much as we wanted. We had previously dropped in without booking in advance, and they were sold out which is why I still recommend booking in advance to guarantee your spot. I've never read Flannery, but partner loves her work. Even without being familiar with her work, I do enjoyed learning about this remarkable lady! At the end of the your, our guide told us this was her first tour which was her surprising because she was so natural and knowledgeable! Both ladies working there were.

Do not overlook this stop. The tour guide was exceptional, knowledgeable and very interactive. I left feeling like I had gotten to know the people who lived there and the life that shaped this incredible author. I've seen many homes in Savannah and this is one I'd put at the top of the list. A sweet and funny little gem in the city.
Erica M — Google review
When I took some visiting friends to this museum late last spring, Janie gave us a great tour of the two floors and invited us to explore books that included some of O'Connor's art. When I discovered that the museum runs a book club devoted to books Flannery read, I signed up for it and thoroughly enjoyed the November meeting devoted to Iris Murdoch's The Bell. I highly recommend the museum and the book club!

Antique store
Alex Raskin Antiques is a renowned store located in the Noble Hardee Mansion, offering a wide array of old-fashioned home furnishings, lighting, and accessories. Housed in a five-story Victorian home, the shop features rooms filled with pieces dating back to the 1700s and 1800s. It's also a popular stop on Savannah's ghost tours due to its intriguing collection.
Incredible house that has NOT been restored. Some of the porches I was afraid to walk out on for fear they would fall off. Amazing details and even more amazing antiques. Lots of chairs. 4 floors to look through. How did they ever get the big pieces to the top floors? I just don't know enough about antiques to know if they are good deals, but many pieces were just stunning.
Alison ( — Google review
We had a great time visiting this shop, which is located in the only unrestored mansion left in Savannah. The owner was so nice and interesting to talk to. He even let us explore the upper three floors of the building, which are typically closed to visitors.
Natalie T — Google review
4 floors of antiques, it's like rummaging through years of family heirlooms in a run down Georgian mansion. The further up you go, the more it feels like you're getting a glimpse of a place you shouldn't be in. Personally enjoyed this more than the house tour at Andrew Low! Get to the top floor, and go out on the patio to get a glimpse of the grand school next door !
A L — Google review
I and my 3 friends were very excited about visiting this shop. We got there around 2:30 and after about 30 minutes wondering around the four floors left incredibly disappointed. To begin with, the house itself is BEAUTIFUL but is also falling apart. Paint peels from the ceiling, windows are missing panes, you wonder at certain points if you will fall through the floor. There are obvious holes in the floors on the uppermost level. The attic is even INACCESSIBLE because there IS NO FLOOR. The antiques themselves ( predominantly furniture and wall furnishings) are lovely but I am suspicious of their outrageous prices. I have never seen prices this high on similar pieces. The furniture is crammed all throughout the crumbling mansion, some pieces with prices posted, some without. I ran into the owner a few different times on this trip and he never bothered to smile or initiate a conversation. No "welcome, please come in." He does seem to stare and always be nearby as if he is watching you to make sure you are "worthy" to be a patron. Overall, not impressed. The house itself doesn't deserve to be in the condition it's in and it's only really worth a visit if you're into antique furniture SPECIFICALLY (and gruff, judgemental owners who seem to determine your ability to purchase based on the way you're dressed/your age).

This is an amazing step back into history. So many incredible antiques! Mind blowing!
Bill G — Google review
We spent and hour and a half wandering through this huge mansion full to max with gorgeous antiques. The house itself is so impressive. Four floors, only 3 accessible , with super high ceilings and beautiful detailed architecture. As you ascend the large staircases it takes you back in time. I would highly recommend this as a stop when touring Savannah.
Karen P — Google review
As much as I love antiques I was drawn to Alex Raskin's just to get inside this historic, magnificent and almost ominous building. The endless selection of period furniture piled up in this gently crumbling grand interior is a sight worth a visit in itself. The old portraits and faded mirrors adorning the walls of the salons give you this very PECULIAR FEELING you can only get in Savannah, like being gently watched or followed all the time. To my surprise, the owner give account to some unexplainable events and ghost sightings within these walls in the past. History is almost palpable here.

I'm so happy I just found this wonderful Savannah Manse again! I visited about 8 years ago! This old Savannah style home is amazing! Entering the Garden Level you get a sense of nostalgia immediately! You can almost sense the previous owners of the past! Moving upward through the home there are many wonderful trinkets, furniture and antiques of all kinds! I loved my adventure in this stately home and cannot wait to return to this square and this wonderful home!!!

Gift shop
Savannah Bee Company is a must-visit store in Savannah, offering a wide range of honey and honey-based products. Visitors can indulge in honey and mead tastings while exploring body and hair care items made with regional honeys. The Broughton Street branch even features a children's area for little ones to enjoy. The company is known for its dog-friendly policy, as indicated by stickers on the front door.
We had an absolutely lovely time with Hannah tasting Mead. She was knowledgeable and warm. Highly recommend visiting and doing a tasting flight. We got a bottle of the Pollen-nation. The gift store is so neat. Samples of honey etc. we got our kiddos some books on bees. Morgan was at the register and was super friendly.

I had a wonderful experience at the store and highly recommend the wine tasting and trying all the different types of honeycomb. What truly stood out to me, though, was the kindness of all the employees. One young man named Wynn particularly touched my heart. His genuine love and admiration for his parents, especially me as a single dad, was incredibly touching too see a teenager talking about his parents with so much love. When you're in Savannah, it's a must go place to visit.
Diego A — Google review
We went for the mead tasting. Our server, Chase, was super knowledgeable and easy to talk to while pouring our tastings. They have 3 different levels of tasting and we opted for the mid tier. We really liked most of them and ended up buying 2 bottles. On our way out we got distracted by all of their honey options too. They offer samples and the ones we tried were super tasty! Highly recommend stopping in to explore.

Savannah Bee 🐝 Company was so fun. It had honey 🍯, mead, food, tasting and so much more. We got some great products.
Marcus M — Google review
Savannah Bee Company is such a fun stop. The mead tasting was a great experience and a unique way to try something new. They also offer tons of honey samples, which made it easy to find a favorite. Just a heads-up, their honey tends to be cheaper online than in store, so I recommend browsing first if you’re planning to buy. Still, the store itself is worth visiting for the experience.
Laura T — Google review
I had never heard of mead prior to the visit here and was so happy I stumbled on the shop. Dakota was super sweet and knowledgeable. She did a great job walking us through the tasting and explaining the entire process. No aggressive push for the sale afterwards either. Highly recommend!
Kasey T — Google review
Highly recommend checking this shop out amidst the many in Savannah! The staff were incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. They assisted us in picking out the best honey for our taste by giving us ample samples and guidance. I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with any selection here as it was hard to walk out without one of everything. My favorite was the honeycomb and the crowd favorite was definitely their sourwood honey. The whipped honey was also super unique and flavorful. Overall, I hope to visit again and encourage others to do so as well!
Bri R — Google review
Tasty fresh honey and joyous upbeat staff! We had a sample of some honey (unsure which one) and cubed cheese atop green apple slices. Very delicious and sweet, surprisingly well put with the cheese. We also tried a lineup of some honey samples: lavender, rosemary and the hot honey/sauce. The KICK was unexpected but so good! Definitely would make a great pair with fried chicken wings. I ended up with a purchase of the beeswax heel balm after much hesitation due to the price of eighteen dollars. The online reviews justified my buy so I can’t wait to try it! They have recipes via QR codes and cookbooks throughout the store, which look diy worthy.
