Nestled in the heart of Savannah, Goose Feathers Cafe & Bakery is a vibrant spot that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 1986. This bustling cafe offers an all-day breakfast menu featuring everything from freshly baked bagels and Belgian waffles to hearty egg dishes and comforting oatmeal. The onsite bakery is a treasure trove of made-from-scratch delights, including flaky croissants, delectable pastries, and their famous whoopie pies.
We came here for a quick breakfast. Here’s what I thought. Atmosphere: The cafe is simply decorated. It was indoor and some outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The place was super clean! Service: Everyone we encountered was super friendly! Our food came out fast. Food: I tried their ‘Egg Croissant’ and really enjoyed it. My husband had their ‘Breakfast Burrito’ and said he really liked it. I had a decaf latte and my husband had a cappuccino. We both enjoyed our coffees. The prices here are very reasonable! Overall, this is a great place for an affordable, fresh, and delicious breakfast.

After seeing the high star reviews, this wasn’t quite what we’d expected. I want to say at onset that my 3 star service review was because of the inefficiency of the service, not the friendliness of the staff. Staff members were kind and friendly. But they were functioning in a less than ideal setup. The line out the door is deceiving. There’s only one person taking orders at a time, which wasn’t terribly efficient. There were two staff members with screens in front of them but one was to order and one was to pay. The long line created crowd problems as people had to shift to allow other patrons to exit or to allow waitstaff through. Seating is first come, first serve AFTER you place your order, so it’s a little stressful, imagining you may be standing around with your tray of food and no place to sit. Stalking other people while they eat to see who looks like they’ll be finishing soon, and worrying about the people in front of you nabbing the table first…not my personal favorite. Glad we weren’t there with our kids. My husband’s food came out and we sat for a full five minutes before mine came out. After a couple minutes, I insisted he start eating so his food didn’t get cold. The coffee was just okay, unfortunately. Our side of potatoes had a nice flavor but didn’t have that great textural crisp to them, and the portion was small considering it was a side we had to pay extra for. My husband got the burrito, which clearly had to be eaten with fork and knife since it’s covered in salsa, but the plate was so small, it was awkward to cut into it without food falling off the plate. He asked for a larger plate, but they didn’t have any. His burrito was decent, but lacked a cohesive element tying the flavors together. My panini was yum. I really liked the balsamic which was soaked up into the top piece of bread. Perfect amount. Was pleasantly surprised at how well the salami worked with it too. I’m rooting for you all, and hope these impressions from average patrons are helpful.

Definitely a hidden gem on this little corner breakfast cafe in the Heart of Savannah! First time and first of all the Carmel Pecan coffee was the Kickstarter for an awesome breakfast experience! Everything was delicious from the spinach and feta quiche(mine had salmon on it also)to the choices of breakfast sandwiches to the Greek yogurt with honey was so amazingly fresh and zesty. The service was quick and friendly plus refills on the coffee of the day plus being clean and quant. We had so much fun along with great food and abundance of smiles from the excellent staff .

Monster in my Meal: Great food and atmosphere. Tasty desserts available. Counter service and sit down, outdoor dining available. Had the breakfast burrito, the birds nest, cappuccino, and a peach pie bar. Friendly staff, family friendly dining. There maybe a monster in my meal!

Disappointing. This place was recommended and the pictures looked great.. can't give it more than two stars. I WANTED to give it 3.... But the cons outweigh the pros for the price Brunch 1:00 Wednesday afternoon for $35 Pros: The coffee was hot and flavorful:We ordered a 8-oz mocha and a 16 oz latte brevve. However it's the smallest 16 oz coffee I've ever had and I asked for it heavy / wet it came light and foamy---As a former coffee shop owner, it drives me nuts when you order a LATTE and you end up with basically a cappuccino: lots of foam and very little coffee.. BUT The flavor was good.( Seemingly great coffee everywhere here in Savannah.) Atmosphere was nice, and food came quickly after being ordered. CONS Servers seemed lackadaisical and desoultory. Even though brunch was served till 2:30 and the place was empty I really got the feeling that they would rather we weren't there.. The hollandaise on the eggs Benedict was congealed. See photo. Looks like it had been sitting in the pot all morning and was barely stirred before lumping it out on the plate. My "eggs in a nest"--two poached eggs with grits and Vermont cheddar cheese, was uninspired. Not much flavor in the grits even after a good shake of salt and pepper. It looked like it had been plated in a rush and without care. And they forgot the salsa I asked for on the side. Had to remind the server. And it was strange It looked like somebody had already broken an egg yolk onto the grits while also putting two whole poached eggs on it. Just odd. When the server brought our plates, she said didn't know what eggs benedict was.....😳🙄 poor training on the management part Altogether this is not worth the money we spent... I could have spent less and eaten at Starbucks and had a better experience. The plates looked thrown together in a hurry, without care and not appetizing at all. Maybe everyone was just having an off day and they do better when there's a crowd early on.. But I wouldn't come back. So sad. Great location and nice environment but.. . The food leaves a lot to be desired.

As we approached a very nice gentleman opened the door and greeted us. We went to the counter and ordered 2 Breves, we did not order any pastries, but they looked delicious. We sat inside and enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere was welcoming. The attendant kept the tables clean and clear without being obtrusive. Definitely a nice stop for a coffee and treat.

This place was recommended to us so I was shocked to walk away so disappointed. I ordered the egg sandwich. There didnt seem to be any cheese on my sandwich but the worst part was the eggs. I told my friends these for sure had to come from a carton. No way theyre fresh eggs. After going back and reading reviews I see many others with the same opinion. They claim they're real but I do not see how and if they are they have to be carton eggs. They're tasteless rubber. If they are real, with so many of these same comments, its a bit concerning they haven't fixed whatever is wrong here. The staff was def very friendly so no issues there but it is a bit wild they ask for a tip thrn tell you where you can go to get your own water cup and utensils. Now to be fair, the one person who got a waffle instead of full breakfast loved it. I tried it too and it was a great waffle. So id say stick with the pasties and house made items if you do decide to go.
Heather — Google review
Ask for tip at order point, yet you get to do everything yourself including your own silverware, taking drinks in try to table after order etc. They forgot the cream cheese on a bagel when we asked for the egg on the side. Told us to go to register and ask for cream cheese ourselves instead of making it right and bringing it to us(who are with small kids being kids so no empathy). Tables are only alotted after you order(again issue with kids). All food is no better than any simple diner. Maybe 1 item is great the rest is reheat and serve quality. Cost me $60 plus mental sanity. Avoid this place.

The Sentient Bean is a trendy coffee house located near Forsyth Park in Savannah. It offers a variety of fair-trade coffee options and serves vegetarian and vegan breakfast fare, including burritos, quiche, sandwiches, omelets, and frittatas. The menu also features non-coffee beverages like smoothies, teas, and lemonade. In addition to its great selection of coffee and food offerings, the cozy atmosphere makes it a welcoming spot for locals and visitors alike.
We loved the Sentient Bean and it’s such a cool and cute coffee shop right by the park. The food came pretty timely on a Sunday morning and the lines were pretty nonexistent. Would recommend for anyone looking for coffee and grub by the park. Vegan options too!

I’m sure this place is great on some days, but I went on a very busy Saturday morning. The problem wasn’t that it was so busy but it seemed like the workers were having a hard time staying afloat while it was so busy. I’ve worked the industry so I get it. I ordered a black coffee, which is pretty much impossible to mess up, and a bagel. The bagel was terrible. Not only was the bagel gross and mushy but I got it cold. I was perplexed as to why they would hand me a cold bagel with a small cup of regular cream cheese. So I got back in the enormous line and asked them to cook it. They then politely pointed me towards a toaster. The toaster sucked. It didn’t work so after 10 minutes of trying to toast my bagel I gave up and just ate my warm bagel. Not the best experience. Probably wouldn’t get anything here except coffee. You’d be better off in a hotel lobby to be quite honest. Nice atmosphere tho so that’s a plus. The prices are very low as well.
Nick W — Google review
My iced latte was really bitter. My partner said his hot latte tasted over-roasted, like the coffee was burned. Food was good, loved the huge selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Restaurant is accessible, one gender nuetral restroom. Loved that they had a pride flag and queer looking staff, but based on the coffee, we will not be returning.

I don’t know what’s going on at the bean, but I’m tired of the disrespect. I’ve let a lot slide up until this point, but now I have to say something. I’ve been going here for over a decade and the service has never been so poor. I don’t even hang out there anymore, but even my experience of placing Togo and pickup orders has been extremely subpar. For one, why are the baristas acting like catty high schoolers. The person in front of me there all smiles and friendly. Then I get to the front and they’re frowning and acting upset. I don’t bother these people. Why do I get the attitude? It feels like some sort of racial tension or something. That’s my only explanation. They’ve gone as far as ignoring me and taking the order of the person I’m with, but the latest issues seem to be the final straw for me. I’ve been vegan for a decade and this is a place that purports to accommodate that, but the baristas have repeatedly given me non vegan items my past few visits. First it was the vegan breakfast burrito, and I should have just stopped going there then, but I know people make mistakes so I gave them grace, but today was a bridge too far. I ordered a cold brew with oat milk, and the barista made it with whole milk, luckily she labeled it, so I just asked if she could fix it. Instead of getting a new cup she just tossed the old coffee out and made the new one in the same cup. I don’t even think she rinsed it out. Disgusting. Terribly disrespectful as well. I can no longer spend my hard earned money here, and would suggest that any other black people in the area do the same.
Louis S — Google review
Love this place. They have always been extremely understanding and kind knowing I have a severe allergy. They did mess it up once, but instantly made it right and were very apologetic. Of the 100 times being here 99 visits were top notch! Love their coffee and they always have vegan options, which I go to as someone with a deadly milk/egg allergy. Most staff here are also super cool. Prices are very reasonable!!! ♥️

Atmosphere is nice & right next to the park. I did not like my matcha @ all, it tasted very bland & watery. I liked the bread though

The Collins Quarter is a versatile establishment that combines the elements of a bar, cafe, and restaurant. It offers an array of options including espresso drinks, beer, wine, and Australian-inspired meals. The brunch menu goes beyond the usual offerings with items like brioche French toast and CQ Bubble n Squeak. The coffee selection is diverse with choices such as Iced Mint Julep and Thai Iced Coffee in addition to standard espresso drinks.
The Collins Quarter is seriously the best spot! The atmosphere is amazing and the vibe is just on point. The food is exceptional and surprisingly affordable for how good it is. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time. I also love the little details, like how they decorate the tables with real flowers – it makes the whole place feel extra special. Definitely one of my favorite places to go! I went here twice for my trip to Savannah as it is so good compared to other places.

The competition is fierce in Savannah for restaurants! But, I would put this restaurant up against any other. Rose, our server was a model for all. The variety of menu options set the expectation levels very high. And, they come through and knock it out of the park! I’m one that loves to try new flavours. This restaurant just piles them on. And in a way that is very balanced. Loved every bite!

Super cute spot. We wisted as a group of 6 and we were seated quickly. Service was good and fast. Food was delicious. Place is located in the bottom floor and second part in a half basement of the old buildings. It gave a great vibe. Had great decor with few long tables made of the slabs of wood. Eclectic a bit. On the list to visit again.

Wow, what an experience. The food was amazing. Be prepared: they are busy but once you get seated. They are attentive and your service is there priority, quick, accurate and attentive. I suggest if it is just you or a couple sit at the bar. I got to see them make the most amazing drinks from spicy cocktails, exotic teas, and beautiful coffee's. The employees are lovely and a delight. Sheer brilliance 🌞...soooo worth it💕🎸🎶🐝🌻

Absolutely loved dining at Collins, so much so that we came back a second time during our trip. Overall the service, atmosphere, and food were excellent. The first time we had Cooper as our waiter and he was attentive and delightful to talk with. Our second time we had Steve, it was his first night back working there after a long time and he was great as well!! Very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend their pasta or Manhattan Filet for dinner & the Dubai chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

I was excited to explore The Collins Quarter as it was one of my top food spots to try in Savannah and also came with a strong recommendation from our hotel car driver. As we pulled up, there was a couple in front of us, but otherwise no line, and we were seated quickly in an intimate corner booth. Our server came, was an absolute delight, and wealth of information about the town and menu options. My wife ordered the Avo Smash, and me the Bubbles and squeak. The Bubbles and Squeak was a curious name to me, and I was delighted at a poached egg, something simple, not experienced often. The food arrived soon as a nearby table and we were mesmerized at the presentation and size of the portions. When our food arrived, it was no different, beautifully presented in a unique and artistic way. The crunch of the potato hash, the smoothness of the cream corn, the zing of the sauces, the mellow textured yolk of the egg, and mushroom.. just all of it… melded so well together, allowing you to taste each flavor on its’ own, but a wonderful delight as one. The drip coffee, so simple, but complemented the breakfast so well, and there were many other options in the realm for others to explore too. A solid experience, and if we don’t make it back on this trip, it’s a must stop on future ones… Enjoy!

Dining with Dirk: Friday Edition. I was greeted promptly and offered a choice between indoor or outdoor seating. With the weather absolutely perfect, I chose to sit outside. While I usually go for my trusty favorite—the Avocado Smash—I decided to switch things up this time with the Open Face Tortilla, topped with a poached egg as the centerpiece. It did not disappoint. The vibrant mix of color, spice, and flavor was downright mouthwatering. Tyler, who was attentive, pleasant, and struck that perfect balance of checking in just enough. I left with good vibes all around. — drinking coffee at The Collins Quarter.

I haven’t been to the Collins Quarter since my honeymoon in 2019 (and not for lack of trying! They were so busy last time I was here), but tonight I came with my friend on a girls trip and it was delicious! We started off with Devils on Horseback which was delicious! I got the gnocchi verde and my friend the shrimp and kale salad. Everything was so good. Our waitress was also a gem!

Green Truck Neighborhood Pub is a beloved local spot known for its laid-back atmosphere, delicious food, and wide selection of beer. The pub, opened in 2010 by Josh Yates and his wife Whitney, prioritizes sustainability by sourcing ingredients locally and recycling whenever possible. Their menu offers mouth-watering options for both meat lovers and vegetarians, such as the house-made pimento cheese plate and the trailer park burger made with all-natural grass-fed beef or a house-made veggie patty.
Saturday afternoon in Savannah, looking for new places to try out and we bumped into this great spot. They had some really unique menu choices. Their selection of draft beer appeared to be local craft flavors. Not feeling adventurous, opted for cans. Ordered a side of fries and really enjoy their signature ketchup. Would stop by again!

Waitress was cool. Enjoyed the different varieties of beer they serve. I especially like that they will let you get a taste before deciding. Thoroughly enjoyed their carrot cake and the burger was massive. Good food, good times. Highly recommend👍

Was craving a burger when we got to town and read that this was the place to go. It was quiet on a Thurs evening around 8, but not empty. The burger and fries were perfect, exactly what I was craving. Both were cooked right and not greasy at all. Excellent beer selection too. Its a little away from the historic district but worth the trip.

We went here bc of the great reviews and were greatly dissapointed . The place is small and Probaly very lively on days that aren’t rainy as they have outdoor seating. The host was very nice and service is casual. We got the classic, the lone star , & (2) bottle waters (boiled water advisory) and our total was $39. They only have two ways you can order a burger as stated on the menu, “pink” or “burnt”. Okay when taking our order the server asked if we were okay with pink center . Yes, no one wants a dry burger … however, I don’t think it’s okay for burgers to be served almost mid rare . We asked for our check and just decided to leave after not being satisfied but the server insisted we get new burgers to our liking. We thought this was so nice as she didn’t want us to leave dissapointed when we were just going to pay and go but at $40 we opted to get them re made for to -go . The burgers were just as raw as before , the 1/3 lb burger is thick so it is unappetizing and questionable on safety temp . Even the texture is more like raw than juicy burger. Seems like they do use high quality ingredients which is a plus but overall just felt like a waste of money and ingredients considering the Togo was the same. I’m very surprised that this is rated so highly for burgers & fries bc that was unfortunately not our experience nor is this the best burger/fry I ever had.

Easily Top 5 Burger I’ve had in my life! So juicy and flavorful! Fries were fantastic and service was excellent! Will definitely be coming back!
Matthew H — Google review
Everything here tastes very fresh. I loved the fries dipped in their housemade ranch. I felt like the burger lacked seasoning, but it was still very good. The burgers and portions are huge.

Green Truck Neighborhood Pub absolutely lives up to the hype! I was out for a run when the mouthwatering aroma from the place stopped me in my tracks. After seeing all the glowing reviews, I figured I had nothing to lose—and I’m so glad I followed my nose. The service was excellent—Erin was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. And the Hot Rod Deluxe burger? Unreal. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly stacked—easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. This spot is a gem that deserves all the love it’s getting. I’ll definitely be back!

The best neighborhood spot in Savannah for a burger. Always fresh, grass-fed beef with many delicious variations served with fresh cut fries. Excellent rotating craft beer selection served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is seating indoors and outside. We’ve always had to wait for a table, but never too long, and always worth the wait. Highly recommended.

Cotton & Rye is a creative New American gastropub located in a former 1950s bank with an all-American bar and a deck. The restaurant was born when the building was sold and transformed into Cotton & Rye by Brian and his partners. Initially envisioning a New York style deli shop, they settled on creating this unique dining spot. The sleek interior of the remodeled mid-century modern bank wowed visitors, who were impressed by the level of service received.
Great place for dinner. We had the shrimp and grits (amazing), seasonal crudo (excellent), smash cheeseburger (excellent), vegetable lasagna, and peanut butter pie (pretty good). Everything we got, except the pie, was gluten-free.

The waiter had the detail of an engineer in describing things. The wife had me on the app with her shrimp and grits excelling over my octopus despite how good it was once I got into the jalapeño scrudge. With entrees came a new round, though. I went for the coulette/picana and got scared when they wouldn't do medium rare+; the last coulette I got medium rare was underdone so I hesitantly went for medium. Fear not! the chef said,.and it came out, and it was good. I took a bite and it was okay... then my tongue said "hang on a sec...", and things settled.... or something started to wake up... and my taste buds said "yooooo" as the dance party started. See menu snip so I don't have to type the party attendees out. My entree took redemption over the wife's app.

I highly recommend this place. Everything was excellent. We started with the award-winning crispy chicken wings. They were a little messy to eat but very good. For entrées, we had the local trout and the pork chop. Both were flavorful, but I would pick the pork chop because the portion was larger and it came with collard greens and potatoes. We also added a side of Brussels sprouts, which were crispy and seasoned well, and they included fried okra with it. The service was outstanding. Asia was friendly, attentive, and explained the menu clearly. I will definitely come back, and I suggest making reservations.

One of my favorite restaurants my girlfriend and I go out to. Our waitress was really kind and nice. She was always attentive and knew when we needed to be checked on. Drinks, delectable. Food, fantastic. That candy bar though? To die for. The candy bar is so good here that I bring it to my mother all the way in Atlanta. It is her favorite dessert. Overall another excellent experience and dinner, will be returning shortly.

Do yourself a favor and just come here. You will thank yourself. This is the choices my partner and I made while dining here. The Local Trout (chef’s kiss), the Almighty most delicious Fried Chicken I have experienced in a long while, and top of the line dirty martini. *SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT* This is a MUST. We experienced the candy bars and chocolate cake. So incredibly delicious. There is a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. The dress is dressy casual I would say. I would visit Savannah again just to experience this restaurant again.

The flavors and spices are gourmet-incredible. I’m not surprised they won an award for the crispy wings ($17), you have to have them. The service was excellent and for being hailed as THE restaurant to go to in Savannah, the prices aren’t bad. It’s all about the food, but I think a lil music to enhance the atmosphere would be good.

Had dinner with my bridal party here and it was a great way to kick off our trip! Some good shareable sides like the Brussel sprouts which had great flavor. The food was overall very flavorful and filling and definitely worth trying a friend’s plate if they’re willing to share! They were also really good about substituting when possible and accommodating allergies. We were also seated quickly and had very nice service but unfortunately the atmosphere became very loud when the room filled up to the point of almost scream talking.

Such a nice break from all the heavy foods of the area. Everything was fresh and light which made walking and exploring after that much better! Had the pineapple upside down smoothie and it was such a delightful surprise that it genuinely tasted like fruit and not desert. So refreshing.

Food was good, service was very slow. Waited more than 35 minutes from order to get food and wasn’t that busy. Quite loud when smoothies are being made. Cuban sandwich was very good. So were the tots.

Absolutely enjoyed our meals! I got a salad that was loaded with cucumber, kalamata, tomatoes and quinoa with hummus and warm pita. Delicious! My husband got the jerk. Chicken sandwich with side salad. He loved it! Service was very fast and pleasant. It is small and tables somewhat tight but it's not loud. My husband and I easily carried on our conversation. We will definitely be back! Thanks for providing something healthy!!

My daughter and I were looking for something somewhat healthy in midtown found this place. We were happily welcomed in and seated. There were so many awesome choices both vegan and not vegan. I chose the Lime Chicken Enchiladas which were sooooo delicious! My daughter ordered the half sandwich and half salad which was just what she was looking for. We also had the strawberry banana smoothie, yummy! We loved this place so much we came back again a few days later! I could have ordered something different but those lime chicken enchiladas were sooooo delicious, I had to get it again!
Cynt — Google review
The food was amazing. I had the Enchiladas, two of them with the flour tortilla and one of them with the corn tortilla. Was not a fan of the side sauces; mustard base on one and a sauce that tastes like buffalo (only because im not a fan of mustard and buffalo haha so that isnt a negative ding).

Greek restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Olympia Cafe, located on River Street in Savannah, is a popular Greek eatery offering traditional Mediterranean fare in a charming setting. The restaurant is adorned with greenery and exposed brick, creating a cheerful atmosphere for diners. The menu features classic dishes such as moussaka, spanakopita, hummus, Greek salads, and kebabs. Additionally, the establishment provides gluten-free options for patrons.
We stumbled onto this restaurant after we tried so many places along River street and they all had 1-2 hour wait. We walked in and the hostess said she could seat us immediately. The place was crowded, so I was glad we did not have to wait. This is such a nice atmosphere. The wait staff were really nice. Even the owner came around asking everyone how the meal and service was. That is such a nice touch! We got the Chicken Kabob sandwich and Chicken Kabob dinner and a Greek salad. It was delicious. We really have not eaten Greek food before, but we really enjoyed it. Next time we are in Savannah we will stop in again to try some other yummy dishes.
Robin F — Google review
I recently dined at this fantastic Greek restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough! The highlight was the red snapper, which was absolutely delicious. Everyone at the table raved about the perfectly cooked potatoes; they were a definite standout. For the main courses, the moussaka and pastitsio were both incredible; each bite was packed with flavor. We also tried the grilled feta appetizer, and it was a true fire show—an impressive and tasty start to our meal. Erin was our server and really went about and beyond to make the meal great. Owner stopped by to our table of 8 making us feel the love. If you're in the mood for authentic Greek cuisine, this place is a must-visit!

10/8/25 Has a rustic charm. Went at 2 on a Wednesday. No problem getting seated. Great service. I had the lamb chops. Ok... pricey... but so good. Medium-well done. Perfect. Marinated. Asked for no additional seasoning. Very good. Sides were a lemon rice/pea dish. Creamy but not dairy. Good.. but the lemon was a bit much after several bites. Red potatoes with lemon flavor. Too much lemon flavor on the plate for me. Husband enjoyed the rice and potatoes from me! Good bread. Husband had the chicken kabobs dinner, so without the wrap. He said it was very good. Served with crinkle fries which were good. I want to go back and try the gyro and baklava. Definitely will go back.

We went there with two of our friends and had a wonderful experience! Erin took care of us and she was absolutely lovely. Her wine recommendation was perfect, we all loved it. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Samira — Google review
The best traditional Greek food ever. We went twice in 1 week, it is that good. Hannah (or Anna?) was our Server and she was great: she listened and was attentive and kind. The Owner, Vasilis, came to our table both times to check on us. He is very kind and genuinely cares about his Patrons. The first time we went, we ordered Tarama and the Greek Village Salad. The Tarama is the best we have ever had. It's creamy, whipped, light and flavorful. The Greek Village salad was delicious and full of flavor. The second time we went, we got the Tarama and Greek Village again, because it was that good. We also got the Branzino. It was amazing. It was flaky and perfectly cooked. Both meals felt like we were at a restaurant in Greece, cooked by a Greek chef or Grandma.

This is the only restaurant we eat at whenever we are in Savannah. We have been coming here for decades, the food, the Service in the ambience are authentic Greek. The appetizers ,kebabs, salads, the seafood, the Greek specialties, and the desserts are perfectly Prepared and presented. Mr. Vasili Make sure that every customer feels like they are special almost like you’re eating in someone’s home. The staff, especially Charms and Katie, Go out of their way to give you that special individualized kind of service that you only receive at the best restaurants. we noticed over the years that the large majority of clientele are local citizens, which always indicates to us a great place to eat.

The falafel appetizer was seriously good—crispy, flavorful, and probably my favorite thing on the menu. We also tried the lemon chicken and the kabob dinner, and both were delicious. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The vibe of the place is great too—really welcoming with a nice atmosphere that makes you want to hang out a bit longer. And bonus: there’s a gelato and ice cream spot right next door, which is perfect if you’re in the mood for something sweet after your meal. Definitely a place worth checking out.

The service was amazing! Our waitress would check on my table constantly along with others as well. Their ice Thai tea is refreshing with the chewy boboa. The green curry with shrimp is rich in coconut sauce along with their crunchy veggies. Having bamboo shoots is new to me but it tastes very good. The fried rice could use a little more seasonings. Chicken wings are crispy on the outside and moist in the inside.

Wright Square Bistro is a charming little lunch spot that’s perfect for a casual, tasty meal. We really enjoyed our lunch here, everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The shrimp Cobb salad was a standout: super fresh with a great dressing, and the crab soup was hands-down the best we had in Savannah. The beet salad was also excellent, flavorful and well-balanced. The deviled eggs came out on a cute plate, though they were just okay. The French dip sandwich was good, but not particularly memorable. Service was warm and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, a delightful spot for a relaxed and satisfying lunch. We’d definitely return!

The cutest spot!! We stopped in for a late lunch at 2 pm. Had the cheese platter which offered super generous portions, house salad w amazing vinaigrette and the tuna melt with home made chips (executed perfectly). Wonderful bistro! I can't say enough about the attentive staff and delicious food. My entree was the blackened catfish on grits. The catfish was perfectly done and the grits were delicious. We also had the fried green tomatoes and it was a delicious and generous portion. Our kids really loved the Mac n cheese. The owner brought us girl scout patches when he realized we are a girl scout troop! Very kind people and stellar food! I highly recommend.

We stumbled upon this place during a day trip to Savannah and it was an incredible experience! The atmosphere celebrates the old South feel of Savannah with the art influences of SCAD. After speaking with the owner, Todd, we got even more insight on the intentional design features put into the space. The food was great too with several dishes named after Todd's Corgi show dogs, which are proudly portrait on the wall. This bistro celebrates everything that is right about a locally-owned restaurant. Highly recommend. We will be back whenever we visit Savannah.

I just had one of my best lunches ever in my four years living in Savannah. The people I was with also raved about their lunch. I had a lox platter that had a healthy portion of fresh tasty lox and the freshest tomatoes I have ever seen or tasted. It is downtown but not touristy. It has a family laid back feel. I have also been there for dinner and enjoyed it. Our waitress Sydney was friendly and professional. I highly suggest trying Wright Square Bistro.

Starland Cafe & Catering is a delightful eatery nestled in the Starland District, offering a cozy atmosphere and delectable dishes. The cafe, housed in a converted Victorian home, serves up an array of soups, salads, and sandwiches made with locally sourced ingredients and fresh-baked breads. With unique twists on traditional lunch items, the menu boasts intricate layers of flavor that are sure to please any palate.
As out-of-towers, we were recommended this cafe. And when the girl told me what she recommended -- a bowl of tomato soup with a generous wedge of goat cheese inside the soup -- I knew I had to try it. Plus, being fall, it's soup season, though for me it's always soup season. The line was not that long, but it took a long time to order. It seemed there was just one person taking the orders, bringing the food out, and clearing and cleaning the tables. I felt so bad for her, but she was doing an amazing job. So please be patient. The food is worth it. Along with my bowl of soup came quite a terrific helping of cut up delicious warm toasted bread pieces. They were the perfect accompaniment to the soup. Go. You will love it.

Amazing service! Stopped in here today and was blown away by how welcoming the women working was. I tried the fresh brewed earl grey teas she brews every morning. They did not disappoint. She came out before closing just to give us a heads up we can top off our teas to go before closing which was very thoughtful. Seating areas both inside and out are wonderful and I love how I feel like I'm in a cozy home there. Can't wait to go back and try the food because I hear it's very good.

My favorite place for lunch in Savannah. They are open 11-3, M-F, so make a point of setting aside the time to visit this cafe set up in a historic home in Starland. Everything is delicious and fresh, and the portions are huge. Don’t miss the CBG, Starzanella Salad, and the Goat Bomb. Whenever I’m at SC, I drink altogether too many Earl Gray ice tea with a lemonade topper. Always friendly & accommodating service too. Starland Cafe has my highest recommendation.

I had the pleasure of staying upstairs in the Air B&B above the cafe (wonderful apartment and beautifully furnished). For lunch, I wanted to try Pa's Pimento Cheese Plate that I saw another reviewer develop an unhealthy relationship with. She wasn't kidding! Pa's Pimento Plate and Pa's Pimento Panini (which my husband got) were both delicious. We both like home-made pimento cheese and I have to say this was the BEST that I have had anywhere. The cheese is grated into small pellets that produce a great texture and the flavors are perfect. The plate comes with fresh toasted bread that is wonderful by itself and a perfect pairing to the pimento cheese. You also get a decent portion size that could be shared by two. I was so sad to have to leave behind half a portion since I had a long drive ahead of me and couldn't take leftovers home. Seriously - it was agonizing leaving the leftovers behind it was that good! Staying upstairs, the staff offered to deliver it to us in the apartment which was awesome. I felt like a VIP. There are several menu items that sounded great - but we were only in Savannah for two nights and one lunch-time period. If you are the area, definitely check out Starland Cafe!
Stacy L — Google review
My wife and I came here today and didn’t have a good experience. We usually love to come and sit outside twice a month at least because it is a great atmosphere. Today must have been a weird day. We were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait which was a pretty long time for sandwich and salad shop but we decided to give it a go anyway because the food quality is usually on par. Ended up waiting over an hour and at that point we decided to just put everything up for Togo because we had a business meeting. Annoying but whatever. When I got a chance to eat I opened up the foil to see literally TWO slices of bacon for the whole sandwich. The saddest excuse for a BLT. That literally was the tipping point of why I’m even doing this review. Twelve bucks for the sandwich isn’t worth the headache of the time we waited. Super disappointed in the pride taken to prep this. Great example of a Sandwich is still Coffee Deli. More bank for your buck and always consistent
Travis E — Google review
Tried out Starland Cafe today and I would highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area. The menu selection is excellent and ranges from soups and salads to paninis. The Cuban panini & the Italian sausage kale soup are 10/10. Seating is limited and the wait time was roughly 30-45 minutes, but it was well worth it!
Sydni C — Google review
It looks like a house on the outside, yet inside it hides a delicious kitchen, like homemade, food. I got a sandwich, and my friends got a tomatoe soup curry, that it was DELICIOUS. You pay a little more that what you normally do for sandwiches but they are delicious and enough to stuff you up. Simple, casual place, southern hospitality, good costumers-family oriented, and enough street parking lots. Enjoy it

Oh my GOODNESS I’m in love! I make homemade (sourdough) pasta and this was my first time ever having any kind of pasta freshly made in a restaurant…I had fusilli with pesto and chicken, and my husband had lasagna with a side of chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious! We were fortunate enough to get one of only 2 walk in tables available at 5pm…everything else was reserved/booked up in advance for the evening! Well worth the wait. Highly recommend!

We found FraLi by accident but what a happy accident! Fantastic fresh pasta in a very casual, almost rustic, space. It all works though. Simple and delicious. No frills or anything too fancy , just really good pasta. The wine list was also right on point. There’s a wine for everything on the menu! We had dessert (also very tasty) and bought some dried pasta from their retail section. Definitely adding this to our list of return places on our next trip to Savannah.

We loved this place SO much, that we stopped twice - once for dinner and one final lunch before we went home. The food was out of this world, and the vibe was so comfortable and informal - I felt like I was eating in Nonna’s kitchen. I brought home a jar of sauce and a bag of homemade pasta! Thank you for the AMAZING food!!

I found FraLi Gourmet byyyyy Googling “good ravioli” 😂. Funny enough, it was right next door to a coffee shop I had also just discovered through a Google search. Clearly the algorithm knows me well. What I loved most was how everything here is made in-house, and you can actually see them preparing it! They even have a small grocery area where you can grab frozen ravioli by the dozen, noodles, sauces, sorbets, and a few desserts to take home. I didn’t dine in this time; I ordered to-go so I could enjoy it from the comfort of our hotel room. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything was packaged. Even the little touches (like an extra container of sauce and some bread) made it feel thoughtful—I love bonus goodies. The menu had lots of tempting choices, but I stuck with what I came for: spinach & ricotta ravioli with bolognese sauce. The noodles were thick and delicious, the sauce was rich and flavorful (kudos to the lady who recommended it to me!), and while I personally wished for a little more ricotta filling, the flavor overall was 🤌🏼. The bread was a bit tough, but whatever sauce it came with—wow. I don’t know what it was, but I liked it a lot. The dish was $18, which felt fair considering the authenticity, artisan quality, and freshness. Portion-wise, it was perfect for someone like me (I can eat a single taco and be full 😅), but I could see how someone with a larger appetite might find it a bit light—especially if you’re used to hearty Southern comfort portions. Just something to note! All in all, a delicious, authentic little spot I’d happily visit again. Stay tuned for more honest reviews and little adventures with moi— yours truly, @sincerely_persephony

Found this gem on yelp and went today around 3pm. Service was great, the atmosphere... I liked it. There is a mini section to buy take home pasta, sauces and some dried goods. I do not have pictures of the food other than the bread and red pepper dip and take home desserts. The bread and dip are very nice. I ordered the truffle ravioli and my daughter ordered the linguine pesto pasta dish. We devoured them and I realized I did not take any pictures. The desserts we chose were taramisu and creme brulee cheesecake. You won't be disappointed at all. The place is not fancy but it is cozy like going to a Nana's.

Very nice people with extremely disappointing food. Our tomato caprese salad had mushy tomato and no fresh basil! I can’t believe they serve us such sad tomato for the salad and for the price point. Bought this yesterday - VG has ALWAYS meant vegan, even according to their sign. As shown! I have a milk allergy and got INSANELY sick after eating it. I even asked before I left and was assured by a worker VG is vegan and they take allergies seriously. It said cheddar so I asked 2 more times to make sure. Went in to talk to them today and one worker said no VG means vegetarian not vegan - look it even says cheddar. The other worker said no VG is vegan. No it was not I haven’t been that sick in YEARS. All she said was well sorry VG means vegetarian OK CHANGE YOUR DAMN SIGN. Clearly she made that pizza and messed up! Everyone needs to get on the same page ESPECIALLY when it’s THEIR sign. They could have easily killed me if I didn’t have an epi pen NOT OK!!!!!! Might want to pull that from the shelves before you kill someone. I wasn’t even offered my money back - it’s ok - guess it’s worth risking someone’s life. All I received was a shrug. Cool. Will NEVER be back here and we used to come here ALL the time.

I absolutely love shopping at Brighter Day—a true Savannah institution that’s been part of the community since the seventies. The store remains locally owned, independent, and deeply rooted in community values. From the moment you walk in, Brighter Day feels welcoming—clean, organized, and staffed by team members who genuinely care. It's one reason I frequent it, for the welcoming folks that work there, and the feeling of community. There's so much packed into it, I can find everything I need, and always get one of their fresh smoothies. Their produce section is a standout—fresh, organic, and often sourced from local Savannah-area farms like Vertu. I also love that they carry my favorite meat producer, Hunter Cattle. They also offer a wide range of organic groceries, vitamins, supplements, natural body‑care items, bulk herbs, kombucha, and lots of chips and healthy snacks. All in a space that belies its compact size. If you want a local, indie grocery and health food store, this is a Savannah fixture. I love this block of Savannah!

Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I only wish we had something like this back home. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

Friendly, knowledgeable help is available if needed. I have always found exactly what I wanted. And… you can make your own peanut butter.

We got really awesome service here, we never had gone to a store that does bulk buying using your own containers so we were kind of at a loss. They weighed our containers before and then subtracted that, and everything came out to super reasonable price! Great granola, ate the French vanilla in a day.

Sandwich shop
A sandwich shop that specializes in wraps and salads, Roly Poly Sandwiches is a great way to get some healthy and affordable food. The chipotle sandwich was decent but not something I would crave again, while the hickory chicken sandwich was delicious and hearty. The food is greasy but worth it for the low price, making this a great option for quick lunch or dinner.
A perfect place for lunch while strolling downtown. Due to dietary restrictions (lent) our choices were limited. This didn't hinder their ability to satisfy our appetites. We ordered three half rolls. The almost fajita, the nut and honey and the Thai tuna. All were completely delicious. The service was friendly and quick. Loved the outdoor seating as we watched the buzz of the city from our table. I must also mention the price point was phenomenal too.

I had such a great experience at Roly Poly Sandwich Shop! I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap with a side of pasta salad, and it was absolutely delicious – super fresh, perfectly balanced flavors, and you could really tell everything was made fresh and to order. But the real standout for me was the freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies… hands down the BEST I’ve ever eaten! Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor – they alone are worth the visit. The shop itself was spotless, and I loved that you can watch your food being made right in front of you – it just adds to the whole fresh and welcoming vibe. Friendly service, clean environment, and food that tastes amazing. Can’t wait to come back!!

Of all the places we eaten at in Savannah, we think this might be the best. We were a little worried when we showed up a 4pm and there wasn’t the usual line (like at all the other popular places around), but were pleasantly surprised with the excellent service, very reasonable prices, and great tasting food! Definitely a must add to your list of places to stop at while you’re visiting Savannah.

We ordered 11 lunch boxes for a quick and easy dinner before our sunset cruise. We worked with Tim--a true gem of a human. He was responsive, kind and delivered fresh, delicious food. The potato & pasta salads were a great addition and "the best potato salad I have ever had"! Thank you for such a great experience!

This is a cool hole in the wall shop next to Alligator Soul. The food here is delicious! I’ve ordered the Brown Derby Cobb Salad.. second day in a row.. and can’t get enough! The staff is super friendly too! Highly recommend!

Soup was not what was on the website that i ordered..more like spagettios from a can add a few veggies. I ordered a hot press and my chicken was very cold and bacon was not fully cooked.

Everyone was very sweet and hustled to get our food out quickly. We really appreciated the gluten free wrap options. Good portion sizes for the price.

Arrived just before closing but staff were happy to serve us, interesting selection of sandwiches, ours were delicious!

Shuk Savannah is a popular spot in Starland, offering a taste of authentic Israeli cuisine and a cozy atmosphere. The menu features Mediterranean delights like fattoush, falafel, and chicken shwarma, while the coffee and espresso pair perfectly with freshly baked pastries. Visitors have raved about the delicious brunch options, with unique dishes like the Israeli Breakfast receiving high praise for its healthy and flavorful selection. Guests also appreciate the efficient service and personal touches from the chef.
We had a great experience at Shuk for our first lunch visit. We tried nearly every dish on the menu, and each one was delicious. While I’m not a fan of lamb and found it a bit too gamey for my taste, the grilled chicken was absolutely amazing! The restaurant offers a variety of healthy and tasty options. I’ll definitely be coming back for the grilled chicken. The space itself is large, clean, and very inviting.

This is an excellent spot for middle eastern food that’s not touristy in Savannah. It has a very slight American twist that still stays true to the heart of the flavors. We got a falafel bowl and added the green chicken. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. The falafel was a different texture than any other I’ve tried but it was still very good. The chicken was phenomenal, must get. We also ordered kanafe which was the best I’ve ever had. The cheese in the dessert was less stretchy and more creamy than what I’m used to (I loved it). The rose water syrup it came with was perfection. Facility was very clean and comfortable as well. Fast and friendly service. We went again and got the red chicken along with the green chicken. The green chicken is a better flavor in my opinion; the red tastes more like a basic sweet bbq.

We have been coming here since they opened. Tonight we tried the new menu and setup for the first time and it was interesting. They have gone from counter service to full service. Most of our favorite dishes and cocktails have been retired in favor of a more elevated experience. On some fronts they delivered and others we were let down. They have added a lot of smaller tables along the wall, and while it increases seating, it also puts guests in the walking path and against a wall. It felt tight and uncomfortable. Our server Olivia did a good job. She introduced herself and took our order. Other than that there were no suggestions unless we pried, she was very about business and somewhat stiff. The food was flavorful, and some of the items we loved had been tweaked. The Hummus #2 now has stewed chicken and the sauce doesn’t appear as prominent as it used to. The lamb was good but once we added the rice it became a whole other experience entirely. Overall there were some hits and misses, and though it isn’t the Shuk that we’re used to, it’s an interesting take on what brought people in to begin with.

Date of service: 10/31/25 My wife and I stopped in for a day date and Shuk really delivered a great meal. We ordered the whipped feta to start and it was awesome. Smooth, flavorful, and the pistachios on top gave it a nice crunch. The fresh veggies and warm pita paired perfectly with it. I got the Sabich sandwich for my entree. The flavors were spot on and super fresh. I was not the biggest fan of the cook on the eggplant this time, but everything else was delicious and well seasoned. The atmosphere is bright and relaxed, and the staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. Leena was our waitress. She was great! Overall, a really enjoyable experience and we are looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

I cannot say enough about Shuk. First of all, the staff is seriously a force to be reckoned with. They are the most kind and seriously know their food. Then the whipped feta?? CAN I LIVE IN IT? So good. Plus, I was told their decor was inspired by the Bauhaus era. Niva was the most gracious bartender ever, thanks girl for all of your knowledge.

Leena was a great witness. She was very patient and broke the menu done for us. Came check over 4 times while we were dinning. The food was delicious. The restaurant setting is so beautiful. I will be returning when I’m back in town. Thank you all for your great service!
