Specialty Museums
The Tijuana Cultural Center, also known as Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), is a modern museum and cultural hub that offers a diverse range of experiences. Visitors can explore exhibits and installations showcasing Mexican history and culture, enjoy an IMAX theater, stroll through botanical gardens, browse art displays in a bookstore, visit an aquarium, grab coffee at the on-site cafe, and catch films or live concerts.
My wife and I had an amazing time visiting the Tijuana Cultural Center. From the moment we arrived, the energy was incredible—live music echoed through the open spaces, creating a festive atmosphere that made the entire experience feel alive and welcoming. One of our favorite parts was browsing the vendor area. There were so many unique, handcrafted goods that truly reflected the creativity and spirit of the region. You can tell the artisans take great pride in their work. The art exhibits were thought-provoking and beautifully curated. Some pieces were bold and experimental, while others honored the deep historical and cultural roots of the area. We especially enjoyed how interactive and diverse the installations were—everything from traditional murals to modern, conceptual art. CECUT is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the heart and soul of Tijuana. Whether you’re into music, art, shopping, or simply exploring, it offers something for everyone.

I want to rate the Cultural Center higher, but as a whole, it needs some love and care and money put into it. The signs in the botanical garden have been highly vandalized and the statues are plastic replicas. The art exhibit in The Cube was really interesting though and I do recommend it. For $5/person it's a great deal and totally worth it.

It’s a very nice museum with fascinating architecture and a clear, engaging presentation of history — from cave people to the U.S.–Mexico War. The photography exhibitions were excellent, especially the photos about the U.S.–Mexico border.

Fascinating walk through the history of the Baja California peninsula from the Age of Discovery to the Second World War. Again, the US is the aggressor. I was most interested in the models of ships and diorama. I used to make those.

This place is so nicely setup inside. The pottery exhibits are extremely impressive. Could do with a bit more upkeep on the exterior.

Attended the Binational Conference of Social Work Post-Pandemic. Excellent location on a Friday. Vendors galore set up all day with food, can lots more. So much fun. It is across from a beautiful mall. Lots of traffic as there is a turn circle, be careful. I enjoyed the cultural experience. Very friendly people and helpful all around. Will go again. The exit at the border was about an hour, so be patient, and go with a buddy for company and to chat with a long the way. Remember your passport.

Its a very nice museum with clear and interesting history from cave people until the US Mexico war and even has information about chiense immigration. It was overal a great museum for 40 pesos.

Plaza
Plaza Santa Cecilia, situated near the top of Avenida Revolucion in Tijuana, is the city's oldest plaza and a historical gem. The iconic arch with a little clock makes it a picturesque spot, especially at night when it lights up and changes colors. This area is where Tijuana originated, at the intersection of First Street and La Revu. Despite being a tourist destination, it offers an authentic experience with its market stalls and restaurants.
The hidden plaza located on the triangle of Tijuana that nobody can find. Located near the wheel of Tijuana.

🌈 bars on one side of the street, the other side straight bars, a lot of restaurants and terraces with seafood and mexican food, souvenirs and live mariachi music. As you can see is a very colorful plaza.

Place was great to go to to listen to LIVE music although its not an everyday or every weekend thing. Enjoyed the ladies that werw singing very much. Great place to hang out.
Janeth B — Google review
This was a tourist destination which we didn’t mind since we had a teenager with us. The restaurant staff try stopping you so you’ll go into their restaurants as you walk thru the market but everyone was nice when we told them we weren’t hungry. We eventually tried some tacos at a couple places and tried the 2x1 drinks at a place on the corner entrance of the plaza. The server talked to us and his other tables for awhile. He seemed interested in making sure we had a good time. I’m glad we stopped here.
Nancy N — Google review
Another outdoor marketplace with bars and restaurants nothing really special except for one shop there I do like and is very interesting ,but will let you find it yourself . The marketplace is on the other side of the arch if you were coming up from the border on Revolution Ave.

Market
Mercado Hidalgo is a bustling traditional market located in the heart of Tijuana, Mexico. It offers a wide variety of goods including fresh produce, handmade crafts, clothing, kitchen gadgets, and more. Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture while exploring the market and trying out local cuisine. Bargaining for the best prices is common practice here, so it's advisable to bring cash. The market also features amenities such as restrooms and a parking lot for visitors' convenience.
I enjoy coming to this mercado, because You can find anything and I mean anything. Every time I go here, I buy myself some fresh fruit and then walk around and purchase the items I go for. Great place to go and have a good time. There is food, piñatas, candy, artesania, fresh fruits, vegetables, and parking, and it's very safe.
Cesar M — Google review
Quite a large market! It's definitely more of a veggies/fruits/food staple market than a craft and shops market. Tons of nuts, spices, fruits and veg. The prices were high. $17 CAD for 2 scoops of brazililian nuts, $29 CAD for a throw blanket. No bathrooms tho, bad for emergency IBS stuff lol.
Jenica D — Google review
Great mercado with an almost endless selection of whatever you can think of. A must visit every trip to Tijuana (from L.A.)
Kenneth M — Google review
The center is full of stores, fruits, small restaurants, cheese store, spices, artisan products. At the spice store, so many spices, teas, grains and honey comb honey. Just about everything you can think of, they have here. Parking under 40 minutes is free.
Loreta G — Google review
Love stopping here for shopping, fresh juice and some tacos while in TJ. Parking is reasonable and prices over all not bad. Not the cheapest in TJ, but having all the options in once place is nice. Pro tip: have pesos ready for prepaid parking at kiosks. Once by restrooms and one near north entrance. Maybe more, but only two I’m familiar with. Multiple exits for prepaid tickets, but only one if you don’t have exact change.
David C — Google review
This establishment is an excellent destination for out-of-state visitors. While the prices may not be as competitive as those found in smaller towns deep within Mexico, it offers a more refined and secure environment. Nonetheless, visitors can still expect to find a wide variety of authentic produce, products, and cuisine.

I attended the Vertical Film Festival opening ceremony at Casa de la Cultura Tijuana and had the privilege to tour this amazing historic building beforehand. I really love old architecture, and this place is full of charm with its textures, colors, and classic design. Inside, you’ll find a theater, art galleries, classrooms, and event halls. The large windows are especially impressive, offering a beautiful view of Tijuana and even the U.S. border in the distance. With more than 90 years of history, Casa de la Cultura is not only a cultural landmark but also a memorable place to experience the spirit of Tijuana. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys history, architecture, and the arts.

Telefónica Gastro Park is a vibrant upscale food-truck park located in downtown Tijuana. It offers a variety of international dishes from a dozen or so stalls, including scallop tostadas, ramen, and chargrilled tomahawk ribeye steaks. The open-air location is adorned with eye-catching neon signs, murals, and repurposed surfboards.
I can't believe that after all these years I hadn't written a review for this place. I first discovered it back in 2018, and boy has it changed, well, more like improved. The food I've tried is excellent, and so is the beer. Service is great most of the time they tale card everywhere, which is a huge plus for me. Mind where you will park, tho.
Victor G — Google review
Got two Cadillac margaritas. They were mid. Super light on the alcohol. Two margaritas came out to 20 dollars. This is the second time I visit the inside bar. The service was not good from the moment I sat down. The waiter didn’t say hi or welcome the first thing he said was that I couldn’t have an outside drink. It was an empty cup, and I told him that and he grabbed it and threw it away without asking me if it was okay. Took a long time for him to come around and offer me another drink. I had to hunt him down, while I was observing him being attentive to tables with more people. The audacity to ask if the Tip will be cash or on the card. No tienen vergüenza. Atmosphere is nice. I will be back and hope that there’s a different person working that day.
Linda P — Google review
This place rocks! My second time here and not only is the food delicious, the service is super fast and friendly especially if you meet Israel, he wears a brown bandana. The man is a super gracious waiter. He is outside in the upper deck. 5 stars

It's a great place with a wide range of food and drink vendors in a very cool multi-level, multi-room outdoor/indoor space. There's a microbrewery in back too!

Telefónica Is always a great place to come. Variety of food choices, drinks are plentiful with options for everyone. This time around I came specifically for the ribs by Humo. Half rack comes with coleslaw, corn on the cob and baked potato... And get this.. only $250 (approx $13.50usd) Definitely the best price around. But there's plenty of options.. other good choic snare the fish tacos, pizza, and the desert spot inside.
David Z — Google review
The moment you walk in to the telefonica it's breathtaking. So many food options to choose from. The mixologia 💯 drinks are really good. The staff and management are really friendly. They make you wanna come over and over. Specially this one server, her name is Yun. If you get her she's the nicest and friendliest.
Jgodoy818 — Google review
Amazing location to get a variety of food and drinks!! Really good oysters and steak. There are a bunch of vendors selling tacos, BBQ, pasta, wings, seafood as well as a wine tasting stand, craft cocktail bar and a coffee shop. Service is outstanding too. There are quite a few servers who are ready to bring you food from any of the stands as well any drinks you order. Loved cucumber margarita and Michelada which came with 1L bottle of Heineken :) Chill and relaxed atmosphere with lots of seating inside and outside. Prices are a bit more expensive than elsewhere in Tijuana but well worth it for the variety and atmosphere, and still half of what one pays in the U.S.!!
Volodymyr K — Google review
Great food at the many options to try from. You can't go wrong with any of the stalls. The tequila bar is great with plenty of craft beer choices. This is definitely a spot worth checking out in Tijuana.

They have Batman,Spiderman, soccer, bimbo, choco milk. etc. Tickets were $100 pesos for 2 people ($5) and we spent about 30-40min but can definitely spend more time if you take your time to look at all the stuff they got. Staff is super nice as well. I will definitely check it out again.

Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, antigua Catedral is a stunning church located near the iconic Tijuana Arch. It offers a peaceful retreat with its beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere. The church holds special events like the Celebration Remembrance of Day of The Dead, which has deep cultural significance. Visitors praise the inclusive atmosphere during Sunday Mass and appreciate the graceful design both inside and out.
Santuario de la Virgen de Guadalupe (Old Cathedral): Beautiful and historic church — the first Catholic church in Tijuana. The current building from the 1950s has a charming façade with a dome and two towers, mixing mission-style and classic Mexican design. Inside feels very peaceful and welcoming. A great place to experience Sunday Mass, and they also hold cultural events like Día de los Muertos. Definitely worth a visit when in downtown Tijuana.
YMK W — Google review
The church is near by the main strip of Tijuana Avenida Revolución. The yellow domes are inviting from far away. There is an open market right by the from of the church. It’s an interesting find but it does not feel super safe at evening hours or at night. The streets are dirty and you got to watch where you step because everything is uneven. It’s right out of a blade runner movie set or a hybrid of Quentin Tarantino movie. Explore at your own risk.

This is how they celebrate the EQUIVALENT of Halloween, however, it has deeper meaning. The event is called Celebration Remembrance of Day of The Dead. Mostly family members whom they still hold near and dear to their heart. Ironically, they do NOT give out candy like in the USA. What they do is make the effigies of their loved ones is made out of candy, bees wax, honey, sugar cane; and they leave their (family's) being remembered Favorite foods which could be anything from fruits and vegetables to sweet breads, and drinks. It does have a cultural significance!

About 20 min away from the US entry into México. Great deal for a childrens museum. Only $5 usd or about $11 for the year pass. Has about 3 levels. Tijuana Arch, also known as the Friendship Arch, is a monumental symbol that welcomes visitors to the city. It's visible from afar and offers different perspectives of Tijuana from each road leading to it. The surrounding area features lively food truck parks, a vibrant craft beer scene, and bustling nightlife on Av Revolucion. Visitors can explore the nearby Zona Norte district for its clubs and street tacos.
The Tijuana Arch is an iconic landmark! It’s a beautiful and welcoming symbol of the city, and the views around it are stunning. A perfect spot for photos and to take in the vibrant energy of Tijuana. Definitely a must-see!

The Arco Monumental is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Tijuana, located right at the entrance of Avenida Revolución. Built in 2001 to welcome the new millennium, this 60-meter-high arch with a clock (now a digital screen) has become a symbol of the city’s modern identity. It’s visible from many parts of downtown and even across the border in San Diego. I really enjoyed walking around here—the atmosphere is lively with shops, street vendors, and Plaza Santa Cecilia just nearby. The arch makes a great photo stop 📸 and represents both the energy and pride of Tijuana.

The Tijuana Arch stands tall at the entrance of Avenida Revolución, symbolizing the city's vibrant spirit. A popular photo spot and landmark, it welcomes visitors with modern flair and reflects Tijuana’s mix of tradition and progress. A must-see when exploring the city.

I love Latinx culture! 🇲🇽🪇Bit bummed 🥲 I couldn’t find a Chipotle restaurant here so had to get some imitation “street tacos” 🤷‍♂️ but they sure were tasty!!😋 Made sure to strictly adhere to Latinx pronoun usage as it is the preferred format by locals👍☺️ This Gringo, erm I mean Gringx😉, had a blast in Tijuana and highly recommend the visit!!!😁
Mr S — Google review
This is a very close walk to go to the arch. It's so visible from any parts. Located close to Avenida Revolucion, and connecting to many of the streets that end to the Tijuana river. There is a street called Santiago Arguello and it's a pedestrian walk (Starts on the Macdonald’s corner) with restaurants and small vendors they leads to the Tijuana arch. There are many ways to get there but perhaps this is the most interesting and safer way. It’s a cultural explosion of Mexico and different vibes. It’s worth to take the walk. If you go to Tijuana this is one of the most visited places 💥

Friendship Park, located at the southwest corner of the USA, offers a unique and emotional experience. The park provides a simple yet powerful setting where visitors can witness the human connection across borders. From the park, one can look through the fence and observe life on the Tijuana side while enjoying breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, especially during sunset. While it's about a mile-long walk from the parking lot to reach the park, during summer months, visitors have access to drive up to it.
This is the boundary marker for the US Mexico divide. It’s a really neat place to visit lots of art and music. You used to be able to walk into a Raul area but then the United States blocked it all off now the only way to see this marker is to

On Sunday I went for a mini adventure on Father’s Day and it started at Friendship Park that’s supposed to indicate the friendship between Mexico and the US. In these political times it’s not well represented in reality. I walked along the beach for 2.5 miles and watched all the families with the fathers in their lives enjoying this time together. Everyone was very polite and nice and I had a very good experience.
Mark L — Google review
Park was open when I came 2 weeks ago, got to wave to people through the wall and say hello while 4 patrol officers looked on. You’re not allowed to get too close to the wall even from the beach while folks on the other side can touch it. Lots of music playing over there, seemed like a good time

Always a pleasure to ride to this hidden gem in the most southwest point of the 🇺🇸 The Main road is now clear more water no need to take back roads. Iykyn. Enjoy!

I recently visited Friendship Park and it was a surreal experience. It was heart-wrenching to see undocumented people speaking to their relatives through the gate that divides two countries. While it was a beautiful sight to witness the power of human connection, it was also kind of sad to see the limitations that come with borders. Nonetheless, it was definitely an eye-opening experience that I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about the struggles of undocumented immigrants.
SIRLUNA ( — Google review
Being from the USA side of the wall, Friendship Park really shines from the Tijuana side. A beautiful park full of art and flowers... Hope for the future and the value of our countries. It seemed safe at the beach, but always use caution. It took us 4 hours to cross thru the border to return home on a Sunday afternoon. Tons of shopping opportunities while in line to cross back. Be sure to bargain on prices.
Maria E — Google review
This is in the heart of the border wall. Many people flock here because it’s a natural location. There is a lot of art, some planet and some random. Definitely you get the vibe of the human capital of people who cross the border and troubles all the way along.

Caliente Casino, a vibrant gem nestled in the heart of Tijuana on Avenida Revolucion, is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the city's lively nightlife. This bustling casino draws in diverse crowds, from locals enjoying slot machines to seasoned gamblers testing their skills at various table games. Just a short drive from downtown San Diego, Caliente Casino Hipodromo stands out with its Vegas-inspired design and proximity to the historic Agua Caliente Racetrack and Estadio Caliente.

This review is for the small Casino inside the Galerias Hipodromo. My wife and I decided to try our luck on December 28, 2021. We lost money. But, we knew that was going to happen before we ever walked in. Gambling is a form of entertainment. If you lose $50-100 over the course of an hour or two, well, that is just entertainment. Never expect to actually win. The 3-star rating isn't because we lost money. Service was good. It was reasonably clean. But, it was very small, very cramped and there are no table games. No blackjack, no roulette, no poker.... only slot machines and keno. I don't like to spend a lot of time or money on slot machines. I would rather play table games. So that is why it receives 3-stars. If you like slot machines, then you will probably like this location.

What good winery doesn't have enough clean wine glasses at 10am to serve their clients? Got to the winery and had to ask if they had tastings and they told us that they had run out of clean wine glasses and would not be able to serve us anything. I would understand if it was close to closing time but they had just opened; overall very disappointed. Don't recommend you waste your time risking getting no service.
David R — Google review
This place is a hidden gem. It’s located in a part of town that is sketchy. At one point, this was the outskirts of what was the town of TJ. If you can get past this, you get great L.A Cetto wines and the prices are unbeatable.
Gabriel G — Google review
Do not raise your hand if the guy giving the tour asks, "who drinks wine"? If you are not a red wine drinker, you don't matter to him, so don't raise your hand if you only like sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio. You will look dumb or he will make you feel dumb about your taste. That free bottle of wine they give, is not from their winery, either. We purchased a shore excursion from a 3 day baja booze cruise.

Caliente Stadium, located in Tijuana, is a popular venue that hosts various events, including football games and concerts. With a capacity of over 27,300 visitors, it is the largest stadium in the city. Adjacent to Caliente Casino, the stadium was built for the soccer club Los Xoloitzcuintles de Tijuana. It offers spacious seating areas with balcony and VIP sections and ample parking space.
Visited Friday, July 25 – Estadio Caliente is electric! The energy in this stadium is something else—so much passion from the fans and an incredible atmosphere all around. The porra (supporter section) brought nonstop chants, drums, and excitement that made the entire game feel alive. If you're in Tijuana, catching a Xolos game here is an experience you won’t forget. Feel the passion. Live the moment.
Lisa P — Google review
Seems like an old stadium, you couldn't really understand what the big monitor was saying, from the microphone the speaker was using. However, the field look great, the match was entertaining, and the box seats are nice, has its own bathroom, refrigerator, and softer seats.

Estadio Caliente never disappoints! Always a fun visit with an incredible atmosphere and passionate fans such a great place for a game day experience. Somos XOLOS!!
Alexander H — Google review
Another great experience. My second time seeing Xolos at Estadio Caliente, this time vs Mazatlan 08/25/23. My ticket cost $390mxn which is $22usd, give or take. This was considered a medium tier ticket, in the corner and pretty good seats. I bought the ticket the morning of the game, at the stadium box office which opens at 9am. To get there when the ticket office opens, you walk up the long walkway toward the stadium, but instead of walking through the red dog's head area, you walk around the right of it, walking into the street. Eventually it will open into a large parking lot and on the far left you'll see 4 windows. The windows dont open and they looked closed, but I walked up to one, and I banged on the window and got the girl's attention. Once inside, you want a beer you can just wait and order from your seat which is easier, as the guys come around often. You'll have to find a cart for hot dogs, but any other food they sell can be ordered from your seat. It gets a little cold at night, so I would bring a light jacket at least. Overall, I had a good time. Even though Xolos tied 1-1 with Mazatlan, the beer was cold and the atmosphere was exciting. Pro tip:  If you're trying to hail an Uber after the game, it's best to wait in the Calimax parking lot across the street. The whole street is clogged with traffic after the game, and most Uber drivers prefer to pick people up in that shopping center.
J — Google review

The Monumental Plaza de Toros is a significant landmark that delineates the boundary between Mexico and the United States. In the past, it served as a gathering place where people from both countries could meet without going through customs, but after September 11, a wall was erected. Although there was once a door that allowed for communication and physical interaction, it has been closed for several years now, leaving only fingertip touching possible.
Great views, chance to take great photos, relax atmosphere

The beach is nice and humbling at the same time. Crazy, as an American to see the wall that has been ever so discussed in the politics.

We visited this beach during the day on our vacation. The food, beverage, and snack vendors were very nice and had lots of delicious choices. Unfortunately, the water washing up here smelled of dead fish. The beach had lots of locals and their pets on it but not many people actually got in the water. There was also a lot of political artwork on the wall beside the lighthouse. The sculpture and lighthouse are good places to take photos.

This historic site marks the boundary line between the United States and Mexico. In the 1970s the next and administration created friendship park this was the only spot where people from both countries could meet in a neutral spot and spend time together Without going through customs. After September 11 a wall was put up for a while there was a door that allowed people to hug and talk but a few years later the door was closed and now all you can do is touch your fingertips. The Mexican side is very colorful and there’s a lot going on it’s a very friendly place compared to the US side where border patrol keeps people far away

Parque Morelos, established as a state park in 1987, is a popular eco-reserve and wildlife sanctuary in Tijuana. Families can enjoy a safari ride through the zoological reserve on a land train, spotting turtles, tigers, ostriches, and peacocks. The park also features an Aquatic Area with slides and swimming pools for cooling off on hot days. Additionally, visitors can explore the desert garden showcasing Mexican cacti and nopales plants.
I am amazed to have discovered Parque Morelos in Tijuana; it’s truly a hidden gem that radiates good vibes and offers a calm oasis in the city, perfect for chilling, especially with kids. This park has it all – from a delightful zoo that’s both educational and entertaining, to a variety of food options that cater to every taste bud. The rides for kids (and adults who are kids at heart) are fantastic, adding an extra layer of excitement to your visit. What struck me the most is the sense of tranquility amidst the bustling city. Parque Morelos is like a breath of fresh air, a place where you can escape the urban chaos and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty. The park’s facilities are top-notch, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. It’s evident that they take pride in maintaining this wonderful space.

So much to see and do! Great place to spend the day with the family. More vendors on the weekends. They have a small zoo, food vendors, rentable canopy for party’s, rides, zip lining, and your usual park area to set up for picnics. Entrance was $34 pesos. Plenty of parking. Bring a hat and sunglasses. It gets hot. Also have a place to roller skate and kids are able to buy food to feed the ducks 🦆. Recommend!!! Sadly, not dog friendly.

Amazing park that you can spend all day at. Very cheap and safe. These are the underground places that you want to take your family if you're traveling through Tijuana to get the authentic Mexican local experience. There are so many areas in this park alone. The go-karts was one of the favorite things to do. Also enjoying a bike rental for two adults and two small children that can sit in the front. This bike has dual pedals or two adults to use and can circle around the park and explore more areas. You can rent golf carts here and circle around the park. There's different rental options here in case you forgot your stroller. There's all kinds of snacks and food here at an affordable price so you really don't need to bring anything unless you want to bring your own blanket and food for a picnic. Small zoo features a white tiger, cute monkeys, and some beautiful birds. Nice entrance plaza, plenty of secure parking costs 20 pesos. There is a good snack shop with pizza that smelled great (we didn't eat, just bought some bottled water). Cute train ride for kids. Very family friendly place. Your child will love exploring the park and seeing many new lovely hidden places.

There is a feeling of peace all over this world surrounding temples and inside them. In a crazy busy world and place like Tijuana GOD has provided us a place of PEACE. If you need to feel more JESUS in your life, a higher connection to angels and to receive direction pls come visit the temple. If you are not a member you are welcome to walk and ponder I. This beautiful Temple was completed in December 2015 and is a sacred place of worship. Although only qualified members of the church may enter the main building, everyone is invited to tour the beautifully maintained grounds and surrounding buildings. It is a peaceful spot where one can meditate and reflect upon the goodness of God. On our recent visit, everyone that we met was very friendly and welcoming. We loved spending time in Tijuana's House of the Lord.

One of the most beautiful places in Tijuana. Extremely very well taken care of. This place is very special, you can go and walk in the temple grounds, take pictures of the out side, there are benches to sit around. You can only get in if you are a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days saints (which by the way I recommend learning more about through their volunteer missionaries, feel free to contact me if you’d like to learn more). Very peaceful place perfect for meditating.

The History Museum Tijuana is housed in the Old Municipal Palace, a bi-level facility that showcases artifacts, photos, and models related to the region's culture and development. The museum offers a unique opportunity to delve into the country's important history through fascinating galleries covering war, maritime history, traditional wear, handicraft works, and ancient history exhibits. Visitors can explore multiple art galleries with photographs depicting Tijuana's history while enjoying helpful staff and bilingual explanations.
People say it's too dangerous, but I felt no difference between being home and being in TJ. It's beautiful and sad, especially the vibrant side by the American and Mexican border. I would totally go back to visit.

Galerías Hipódromo is a vibrant outdoor shopping center that offers a mix of big-box stores, a movie theater, and fast-casual eateries. Located in an upscale area of Tijuana, it provides a glimpse into the luxury side of Mexico. While some visitors appreciate the variety of dining and shopping options, others find the prices to be on the higher side due to its touristy location.

If you’re nut Tijuana and you want to explore the vast majority of the galleries and plazas, then I recommend visiting this galleria. It has tons of clothing, stores and a lot of coffee shops, but I also has a fish pond in the middle so everyone can see the different types of Koi fish.they have everything here and my favorite place to go so far was the thrifty’s ice cream shop.

KING K — Google review
So I went there a couple of months ago, before all this COVID - 19 pandemic outbreak and I must say that I really like it! One of the negative sides of it are the prices. Since it-s in the middle of a very touristic area and around an expensive neighborhood. You would find the same stuff cheaper in other places. For example, the movie theater, the restaurants and let's not even talk about the stores (except for Walmart). The rest was great. It's always very clean and it beautifully decorated according to the season of the year. The last time I went there was December, so, everything was about Christmas. Also, the restaurants and places to visit are highly recommended because they have amazing and delicious food with a great service. Do I like it? Yes. Do I recommend it? Totally. Would I come back? I hope so!

Like many other google reviewers, I agree that this shopping mall doesn't have a variety of shops, the best thing to do here is watch a movie, have a coffee, an ice cream or dinner enjoying the view of the central fountain. It is an expensive mall, and unlike shops, the food options are varied. This place also has some banks and cashpoint machines. It also has a Walmart which is good if your budget is limited. This place is usually popular at weekends.

Parque Teniente Guerrero is a beloved city park with well-maintained lawns, shaded pathways, and various amenities such as a playground, fountain, and picnic spots. It's a popular spot for locals to unwind in its tranquil ambiance and lush surroundings. The park offers entertainment like singing and dancing at times, along with street vendors selling affordable food. Families can appreciate the fenced playground while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Mexican plaza.
Love this place, I spend time here every week. I visit on my own to enjoy a coffee or a performance. I also visit with my kids, love that the playground is gated. They also have a bouncy house some days for 50 pesos. Bathrooms are only 5 pesos and they give you lots of paper. There are other pleasant activities and a good selection of food vendors.
Alma L — Google review
El parque is one of the rare spots in Zona Centro where you can actually cool off under the shade of old trees on a hot Tijuana afternoon. It’s the kind of place where life feels a little slower. People walking their dogs, families on the lawn enjoying picnics, and kids running around the playground while the sound of laughter fills the air. There’s an outdoor gimnasio right next to the biblioteca that’s always busy with regulars who know each other by name. But what really makes it special is the music. Just about every day, local musicians set up by the gazebo and sing along with cumbias, rancheras y más. Before long, young and old turn it into a giant dance floor as strangers become neighbors. Street vendors surround the park with tacos, elotes, churros, y agua frescas. For me, it’s not just a park—it’s the heart of the community that reminds you why you fell in love with Tijuana in the first place. 🫶🏽

La Mona de Tijuana is a local landmark that may not be well-known to tourists, but it's a must-see for those visiting Tijuana. The museum was designed and built by an individual with no prior construction or artistic experience, making it quite remarkable. While the road to get there can be rough, the view of La Mona is worth the journey.
Wow Que hermosa vista !!!! cool spot to check out and best of all it’s free. Avoid the windy road and just take the main highway park on side and take a few snap shots . Would be nice if they hd a concession stand with tacos and goodies maybe even some souvenir store to take of la Mona however it’s not set up yet
OPM M — Google review
I wish it was more maintained. I used to live in the house next to it. The owner was always so proud of it. Now it's just less of an interesting point. The street to get there is also really bad like if u plan to visit either walk down or have a car that's high because the rocks will mess up your car. I would still visit to mark it off your bucket list.

Wish you could get closer to it. But since its a private property(someone's home) you can only see it from the back or walk down the street to view the front/side. The road to get there is a bit rough. But worth it either way.

The San Ysidro Port of Entry is a bustling border crossing with historical markers near the pedestrian bridge. Visitors have shared experiences of undergoing thorough inspections, including having to wait for their belongings to be checked and even accidentally leaving items behind. Some have noted that the crossing can be slow at times, especially when passport laws are not strictly enforced. While entering Mexico on foot was described as fast and easy, reentering the U.S.
( walking to Mexico real review)I Went at 09:00 am on a Wednesday. And In less than 5 minutes I was in Mexico. Coming back at 12:00 pm the line was horribly long. I’m talking blocks long away.. so we walked to the other border entrance the west entrance and in less than 45 mins I was in the us.. but keep in mind that this entrance closes at 2:00 pm and opens back up at 06:00 am.. green and white taxis are the most trusted. 20 dollars to take me to the Tijuana beach. The end of wall is there and they have shops and bars.. lots of hustlers be careful out there. Final notes..Take cash with you. I took my debit card and 200 dollars cash. I came back with 60 dollars cash.i used my us passport and I also took an ID. They give you a 7 day visa.
Pork C — Google review
This is a bad way to safeguard borders in a modern county like the US. The US Government is lying to the American people if this the best they can come up with. You need technology and modern scanner to scan all vehicles while crossing. You can see if vehicles have been doctored. Then you look for the traffickers and all types of folks that are dangerous to enter the US. It’s not easy but also it’s not rocket science to block criminals and drugs from entering. The current methods provide no security and most contraband or drugs will make it to the US.

I entered U.S. from Tijuana through this land Port last weekend, in general the experience was nice, officers were friendly and helpful. The one I went to was West Pole, all people need to walk through a long bridge in order to get the CBP office, also make sure you have all of your documents and paperwork ready before meeting with the officer. The officer won’t ask you too many questions, once you are prepared everything they need. One little problem was the waiting time is bit long, might be weekend reason. So if you want to entry US by San Ysidro Port, you will most likely leave at least 2 hours. I think the East Pole is even longer. I hope my experience will help your trip.

Review of My Border Crossing Experience – Returning to the U.S. with Advanced Parole I recently returned to the U.S. through the border after a brief trip to Mexico for dental surgery, traveling under Advanced Parole. The process took some time—about an hour in the car line before reaching the booth—but once I got to the front, I was greeted by a polite and professional officer. I’m not sure of his title, but he was very respectful as I presented my passport and Advanced Parole document. I let him know right away that I needed to be stamped and sent to secondary, as I didn’t want to do anything wrong that could affect my DACA status. He understood and directed me accordingly. Once inside the secondary inspection area, I was met by a very kind female officer and another gentleman, both of whom made me feel comfortable and treated me with care. I had just gotten my wisdom teeth removed and was bleeding pretty heavily from my mouth. I asked if they had any gauze, and they were kind enough to provide it right away—something I really appreciated in that moment. They took my photo, fingerprints, and asked a few standard questions, including the purpose of my visit to Mexico. I explained it was for the dental treatment, as stated in my AP request. I waited in that room for about two hours—not sure what the delay was, but I didn’t mind because I was treated fairly and respectfully the entire time. There was one officer outside with a firmer tone, but he wasn’t rude—just doing his job with seriousness, which I totally understood given the nature of their responsibilities at the border. Overall, I’m grateful for the professionalism, humanity, and fairness shown to me by the customs officers during this process. It meant a lot, especially being in pain and concerned about doing everything correctly. Thank you.
Jason C — Google review
My recent experiences with US Customs and Border Protection have been mixed. Traveling from the US to Mexico has consistently been smooth, with an average wait time of just 15 minutes. However, returning to the US from Tijuana has been a completely different story. The wait times are excessive—on my last trip, the minimum wait was two hours. Out of 20 available counters, only three were staffed, leading to extremely long lines and significant delays. This level of inefficiency is disappointing, especially considering I’ve made this trip for dental implants about ten times over the past three years. Frankly, it’s become quite embarrassing.

July 24 2024 at 1134 pm I've yet to hear why they flagged a global entry car and global entry driver as A&D (armed and dangerous). They took the keys and as anyone knows you can't roll windows when they're electric and no keys. They pointed over a dozen guns and tried their best to instill a natural defense so they could escalate harm and justify firing their weapons. They finger printed someone who is already finger printed via global entry. Even handcuffed they tried their best to cause harm to escalate a reaction. They caused unnecessary trauma and made a lame excuse "someone fits your description" mind you I'm global entry. You have to do an interview, finger print and photo to certify you yet ALL of it was ignored to harass and traumatize me and my passenger. Their complaint form doesn't include anything. They need to add the agents involved, new training on de escalate and new training on NOT using a passengers vehicle as a barricade. Not harass citizens when you have no cause and no handcuffs, no guns for clearly not armed or dangerous individuals. Not once where they professional and neither their assistant chiefs when they tried to apologize after nearly killing two citizens with no cause. They've done the same treatment to my elderly disabled mother and revoked her global entry with NO explanation or justification all because of gun ho agents. If you ask someone papers that does NOT specify which papers you want to see. That shouldn't be the reason to revoke their global entry either. Even with foia requests no explanation nor reparations for the damages their agents continue to do on unarmed citizens. Even as an active military member or veteran no respect or professionalism or educated training is present.

We were traveling to Tijuana, Mexico for a medical procedure and our driver back into the states was very professional. Key was him having the medical pass, which saved us literally hours at the border in the morning coming back across. The border agents were very professional and if you're patient, this process goes pretty smoothly (just slow). There are a lot of vendors as you wait if you missed buying any last minute gifts.

6 IMPORTANT TIPS CROSSING SAN YSIDRO TO MEXICO (pedestrian) I have traveled on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Anytime between 8-1 PM is uneventful. I either get dropped off or take the trolley. I don't trust parking my car overnight in the U.S. lots. I am usually traveling to Rosarito with my young kiddos. 1. Have your documents easily accessible to you without fiddling and faddling. 2. If you have to put items on the conveyor belt, be on the other end to quickly retrieve your items. 3. You will have to walk up a small curve incline to the document checkpoint. Just in case mobility is a factor. 4. If things are moving smoothly and you go between the times recommended, the border crossing to Tijuana is 10 minutes. 5. I travel with kiddos, I always take full photos and send to family. Precautionary, because I watch crime shows. Maybe not important but what's 3 seconds of peace of mind. 6. Customs agents are so chilled, but I bet if something pops off it's on! Answer their questions without joking because your bad humor will cause the rest of us to be delayed. “I took a trip down to Mexico. It kind of changed my perspective on life a little bit.” – Derrick Favors #juken123 #sanysidrobordercrossing #uscustomsandborder

(Translated by Google) A quite pleasant experience, the only drawback was the difficulty in finding parking. Upon entering the place you can smell a delicious smell of coffee and a very comfortable vibe from the workers, who are truly very friendly and attentive. I ordered an Americano on the rocks black, and my girlfriend had a chai on the rocks, the Americano quite good. The only problem I had was the chai, my girlfriend thought it was average, however it seems that when they made it it was very hot and that used up all the ice, so the drink never got completely cold. We also ordered a shell filled with dulce de leche, quite good, the desserts looked very delicious. The place is quite comfortable, it has a high table inside and a quite comfortable terrace as well. La Mojarrita in Tijuana is a must-visit for its famous fish tacos. The freshness and flavor of the fish, combined with crispy batter and delicious toppings, offer a delightful culinary experience. While some feel that selling tacos only by order leads to food wastage, others appreciate the sea view from the second floor and recommend trying the sandwiches with orange juice. Overall, it's known for excellent traditional Mexican food and a good view.
Great little mariscos restaurant in Playas de Tijuana. They have a pretty good selection of meals and they also have beer, which some places do not. (Some places in Playas are lunch only and do not serve beer.) There is an area in the back where you can get a view of the sea and people watch as well. I have been several times and always had a good experience. It feels like a family run restaurant and they are clean and quick. I recommend and will return.

View was nice, just like all the other restaurants along the coast. I like the haphazardness of the interior decoration, felt very "Mexican," colorful and quirky. However, I was extremely disappointed in the food. Ordered the 3-taco plate, they only had fish and shrimp available at the time although the menu lists more. No choice of grilled or fried, both items were surrounded by a deep-fried, spongy batter. I could hardly tell which one was the shrimp and which the fish, they were nearly the same. No flavor whatsoever. I paid $140 pesos for them. Came with rice, some sort of macaroni salad thing?, and a lettuce salad. I didn't even finish the other two tacos, decided it wasn't worth it and I would get better food elsewhere.

This place doesn't "look" like much, but it is amazing! They don't play loud music so you can actually talk with the person you are there with, there is plenty of seating, and the flod was delicious! Plus, our server was so nice and the food was made fast! We ended up going on a monday afternoon, which was a great time to go, just around 4 p.m. because it was not busy at all. I think this is one of my new favorite places!

This place needs lots of improvement, customer service is bad, food is bad . No flavor what so ever. Service from waiter is terrible . Prices are over the roof and every item over price.

(Translated by Google) The service is good, the food has a homemade flavor, the bad thing is that they only sell the tacos in order and not everyone finishes the order, it is wasting the food and spending unnecessarily, due to the cost of the a la carte dishes they should put more shrimp or fish on the dish.
