City park
Wolf's Crossing Community Park is a newly established park that has quickly become a popular destination for families. It offers an array of activities suitable for children of all ages, including a zip line, playground equipment, outdoor musical instruments, and an agility course. The park features a large accessible splash pad and various playing apparatuses. Visitors can also enjoy hiking up the hill to take in scenic views or relax at the covered sheds with picnic benches.
Beautiful large park. Large parking lot, tons of seating including a pavilion and lots of amenities. There’s a water park, a ninja warrior course and a very nice park. Lots to do at this park. Well worth a visit or spending the afternoon.
Jon N — Google review
This park is absolutely fantastic and gets a perfect 5 out of 5 stars from me! It's super clean and has so many fun things to do for everyone. My family loves coming here. The playground is awesome with lots of different swings and slides, and it even has a cool zipline! The ground under the playground is soft, which is great for little kids. There are also nice sports fields, basketball courts, a fitness center, and a long, smooth path for walking, running, or even using a stroller. We often bring a picnic to enjoy in the covered area, and it's always clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are well-kept, and there's plenty of parking, so it's never a hassle to visit. Wolf's Crossing is a truly wonderful place to spend time outdoors, whether you want to play, exercise, or just relax. It's a real treasure for our community!
LARRY G — Google review
Truly excellent park. Much thought went into creating this area. Great park for all ages and all interests!!
Amberly R — Google review
Nice splash pad for kids. The park also has a playground, open gym, trails. We had a nice day out with our little one. Be careful walking on the lawn around. We saw a snake.
Tapan N — Google review
My 6 year old grandson loves Wolf Crossing Park. He especially loves the zip line and the ninja area. The splash pad is great, too. There is a nice covered pavilion where you can bring a snack or lunch. The restrooms are super clean, and the park itself is very well cared for. We can't wait to get there now that summer is back!!💖😊💖
Carol H — Google review
Great place for kids to enjoy. Plenty of activities to do like splash pad, small zip line, play sets, picnic area, etc.
Amit C — Google review
What a great service from the Naperville Park District that too at absolutely no cost. A large Splash pad (accessible) that is popular amongst young children. Huge Playground with multiple playing apparatuses. I can't believe there's even a mini zip line for these kiddos. Do climb up the stairway to the hill for the love of hiking or maybe for incredible views. The hill has an accessible trail too. Multiple covered sheds with picnic/resting benches Installed. Basketball court, a fitness/activity area meant for older children, The park was full when we arrived & why not. Summers must be spent at places such as these. The facilities have restrooms & plenty of parking spaces including accessible. #dogfriendly #accessible
Reema G — Google review
Great park, splash pad, and picnic area. My children always enjoy our time there. I love that the park and splash pad are fenced in (the park isn’t latched shut like the splash pad). Great shaded picnic areas. There are also restrooms which is so convenient with kids and a long day at the park!

DuPage River Park is a picturesque wooded park located at 808 Royce Road, Naperville. It offers a variety of trails for walking, running, and cycling. The paved trail connects to Whalon Lake in Bolingbrook and continues through Naperville as the DuPage River trail. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the river, clear lake, and wildlife while exploring both paved and grass-only trails.
Interesting trails connecting to Whalon Lake Park and Knoch Knolls Park! Very first time visiting this park— the trails are quite peaceful and scenic and super dog friendly and kids friendly. At some point, you can see the curvy road on the left plus lush greens all around on the other side. We parked in the Dupage Park parking lot, hiked all the way to Whalon Lake. This place is great for biking as well. Plenty of parking including accessible at the location; many picnic benches on-site. #dogFriendly #biking #hiking #river
Reema G — Google review
Nice views of the Dupage river, easy access to the nearby pond. Has shelter and typically a family party / cookout of some type going. There's ample parking. It's about halfway between Whalon Lake and the Dupage Roller Rink just off Weber.
Bryon G — Google review
Nice park to have picnic or do cycling running etc. You can spend 2-4 hours easily in the park. There are rest rooms facilities and park is well maintained
Sanjeev G — Google review
Great park for walking, running, or biking on the DuPage River Trail. The trail provides access to Whalen Lake. There's a lot of parking, restrooms, and a picnic shelter available.

Well maintained paved trails and a tiny pond. Easy parking lot to get in and out of with plenty of spots, even with a rental party taking place.

This place is well-maintained and gorgeous! Our son also attends preschool here through the park district and be absolutely loves it. We are so glad we found this place. The playground and surrounding fields are clean (immaculate, really) and inviting, modern, charming and unique. We can’t wait to explore the trains this spring & summer!
Brooke B — Google review
Had an amazing hike with my 7yo. Mostly paved paths along with some more rustic trails. The nature center was welcoming and had lots to look at including an aquarium and some other tanks and lots of informative materials. Great place to go!
Sedena A — Google review
This place has beautiful wooded walking paths that wind along the creek. The nature center is very nice and has information about the area and the local habitat and is perfect for the whole family. There is also a disc golf course and bike path that travels through to other areas. I love this place for a walk in nature on a nice day
William O — Google review
We went to this place for a family tree program. We could learn about trees and got a beautiful maple tree that we can grow in our garden. There is a lake where frogs and turtles are living, and you can enjoy great trails as well.
Semna L — Google review
We went there on a weekday evening to get some fresh air with family and were pleasantly surprised at how good the experience was! Amazing place for basic hiking, walking and running! Entire path is paved so kids on strollers can go just fine. Ample parking space helps as well. The pond was clean and the whole surrounding was very peaceful and calming with seats to hang around and relax. Totally recommended!
Kaushik S — Google review
Great place to walk, bike, take your dog, throw your frisbee, have a picnic and bring little kids to play on the playground. Of course there are photographic opportunities. I saw some unexpected wildlife on my walk today. (see photos). There is now only one bridge that crosses the East & West branch of the DuPage river. The nature center building is open at various times. An all seasons park. Launch Kayaks too!
Martina L — Google review
Great place - for walks, picnics, outdoor activities, cycling, jogging. the nature of this place is carefully preserved. it's great that there are natural paths in the forest. but parents need to be careful, as the river slope is very steep and not fenced, the child may fall. Also, if your dog is very active and reacts to wild animals, then be careful - there are a huge number of squirrels and chipmunks. my dogs would be crazy about wanting to catch them))) a very picturesque river where you can swim in a canoe. Unfortunately, I could not get to the local museum, as it closes at 5 pm. admission is free and there is a private parking, but small, so many visitors are waiting for free space.
Tatyana M — Google review
We don't live close by but kids love this place. It's only a 5min drive from my subdivision which is worth it. Bike trail is awesome and the nature centre is well maintained and educational. The playground is decent enough even for my 10 yr old to enjoy!!!

Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville spans 1,832 acres and was originally planned to feature a dragon-shaped lake. Today, it is a significant grassland bird community with species like meadowlarks, dickcissels, and northern harriers. The re-meandering of Spring Brook has improved aquatic habitat and flood control for nearby residents. The preserve offers 13 miles of trails for running and hiking through wet and dry prairies, while cycling is limited to maintained trails.
About as close to native Illinois prairie that you can find. Crushed gravel paths great for walking/running/cycling. Model airplane field on the interior. Regular coyote and hawk sightings. Groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter.
Doug M — Google review
Beautiful prarie setting featuring a 6 mile trail loop. The wide, crushed limestone trail was in great shape and is perfect for hiking, running, or biking. The trail loops around the prarie with stunning views. There's a really nice overlook of the prarie on the hill near the model aircraft field. There's two entrances, plenty of parking, and restrooms available.
Jeremy D — Google review
Beautiful scenery and easy to walk trails. I usually prefer forests to prairies for my walks, but this place is absolutely gorgeous and pretty big. Wear a sun hat.
Kim A — Google review
Great forest preserve with a lot of open space! Trails are crushed limestone so be prepared to bring a spare pair of shoes. You will get messy. The trail is well maintained and was a moderately challenging run!
Kevin K — Google review
A great long trail, there are moderate hills in places, and the whole trail is gravel. There is a dog park and a small craft field for model airplanes. Very scenic and beautiful
B R — Google review
A wonderful prairie. The main parking lot appears to be at the model aircraft area on the map. The paths are wonderful for walking, running, or biking. This is definitely a spot to come check out
Andrew B — Google review
Long long walk! Beautiful place, we will go back. Watch your steps if you have limitations so you can turn around before its to late. Its easy to just look around and talk to your walking partner and get carried away.
Barbie S — Google review
This is such a nice beautiful short hike. This trail contains many beautiful flowers and you can see a lake over the trail. I really recommend coming to this trail if you need a quick one.

Hiking area
McDowell Grove Forest Preserve, located in Naperville, spans 465 acres and offers a variety of recreational activities. Originally a camp for the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and later a secret installation during World War II, it now features multi-use trails for activities like trail running and quiet walks. The preserve boasts mature woodlands, open fields with diverse bird species, and a floodplain forest with impressive tree varieties.
My first visit impressions: big, many trails, quite a few e-bikes, many picnic tables. Sign posts inform the distance of the trails. Saw a Heron and an Egret in the river by the dam, so beautiful. Looking forward to exploring more.
Chris E — Google review
While searching for a new hiking spot for our family including our dog, we found McDowell Grove Forest Preserve— a wonderful place to visit for those who love hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking, or being in a peaceful, foliage-rich forest preserve. Beautiful trails, some paved and others unpaved, be sure to carry a mosquito spray/repellent for the unpaved trails especially if accompanying kids. Our dog who loves to hike with us didn't want to go back just like us. The place is super tranquil, you can hear birds chirping around, and if you are super lucky, you can encounter families of deer as well. Restrooms at the location, right when you enter, plus a great spot for fishing. Plenty of parking. Picnic benches installed at various locations (covered/uncovered). #dogfriendly #familyfriendly
Reema G — Google review
Beautiful park with miles and miles of trails. Most of the trails are crushed limestone but they also have some single track and wider dirt trails. There’s also a small lake to run around and a dam at the other end of the park. The parking lot is a great size and was recently repaved. Check this place out!
Deependablereviews — Google review
Too bad Naperville and its Community are allowing all the unnecessary building of strip malls and all those new apartments that are now encroaching on the FPs natural environment. The traffic is crazy there now, but hopefully the Preserve and the River, will be able to withstand all the garbage surrounding it now. 🌿
Nancy M — Google review
Favorite park in the area! Awesome trails and wildlife!
Valentine U — Google review
Great for walking, running or biking.. Walking paths are mostly green grass which adds to pleasure of walking. I spent almost 2 hours and enjoyed every moment of it. The longest trail is close to 4 miles, so it's not a big deal to walk through the whole preserve within that period of time..
Arif E — Google review
Perfect place for a nice quiet walk when the weather is nice outside. Not too many bugs and have great area for family picnics. It's beautiful during fall as well. If you follow the long trail ...along the way you find a huge flower field which is so beautiful during spring time...the hidden water dam where some people fish during the warmer months follow the small river some more and it will lead you to Naperville downtown area which I think its pretty cool.
Dovie — Google review
Great place to do a variety of sports. From walking along the differents paths, to do biking, canoeing and just to seat on one of the picnics table, enjoy and have a relaxing day with family or friends. Easy access and a decent parking lot. Come and visit it.

Let me say this: The slides are amazing. There is a wall with the first three letter of the alphabet on it. I love how encouraging it is to kids to have the alphabet there. It teaches our kids to learn quick and can lead them to good colleges in the future and I love that addition!

Beautiful and long walk which was also kid friendly! Stroller friendly as well, though at some parts of the sidewalk did get a bit narrow. There was even a little spot to rest, get drinks or some snacks which was pretty convenient for my family!

Beautiful paved sidewalk and trail along the river in downtown Naperville. Abundant birds, 9/11 memorial, covered bridges, pocket parks, and very peaceful. The town seems to take great pride in the riverwalk, very well maintained and clean.

Herrick Lake, a nature preserve spanning 885 acres, is located in Wheaton and features a variety of landscapes including stately 150-year-old oak trees and young planted forests. The area boasts over 5 miles of trails, with common flora such as viburnums, dogwoods, roses, and blackberries. Additionally, the park offers boat rentals and fishing opportunities.
Beautiful Lake and Forest Preserve with miles of well-maintained trails. Trails are wide and in great shape, and accessible to all activity levels. The trail around Herrick Lake offers beautiful views. There's over 8 miles of trails available with a good amount without shade, so I recommend coming prepared on a warm day. Note: The Meadowlark Trail was closed as of 3/14/25.

Beautiful lake and forest! I was able to use the nicely paved paths easily with my rollator walker and go onto the big pieron on the Eastside of the lake, with my family. The kids had a great time exploring and fishing in the designated areas. P.S. The Fall foliage in 2024 at Herrick Lake was breathtaking. A must see location!
Valerie Z — Google review
We visited on a cloudy weekday. No issues parking. Boat and kayak rentals are only on weekends but we have our own SUP so from my understanding we can still launch if pay a $15 out of district fee per day. Yes ouch that’s a lot but at least Dupage county allows SUPs. Cook does not. My daughter and I biked multiple trails and it was really nice. If it would have been scorching hot, there is very little shade so keep that in mind but lots of nice gravel trails to explore here!
Deanne C — Google review
This place is so calm and nice..trails are scenic and family picnic place...beutiful and peaceful place..
Anuradha P — Google review
This is always my favorite place to take a long walk. There is a little of everything: lake, woods, and prairie. Kayaks are available here and I believe that there is also fishing. The only word of caution is that the trails are very popular with dog walkers, so if you get highly anxious around dogs, this may not be your favorite. That being said, I am medium anxious around dogs and I rarely feel that a dog here is not well controlled or well behaved.

Greene Valley is a vast 1,388-acre park located in Naperville, offering a variety of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. With 12 miles of marked trails open to runners, hikers, and cyclists, visitors can explore woodlands and open fields while enjoying the scenic views from the overlook. The park also features picnic areas, camping facilities, and a fenced-off dog park for furry companions.
The miles of trails at this Forest Preserve are great for hiking, running, or biking. I hiked 7 miles of trails, and there's still other trails to explore. The preserve features a mix of wooded areas with beautiful oaks, and prairies, and meadows. The DuPage County Forest Preserve District does a phenomenal job of maintaining their forest preserves, trails, and facilities and Greene Valley is no different. The trails are wide, crushed limestone, in great shape. Trail markers and signage are present through the Preserve. There's multiple parking lots and bathrooms available.
Jeremy D — Google review
It was an okay forest preserve. We had fun and there were plenty of trails for biking and hiking but when I think of a forest preserve I think of a massive amount of dense trees. Most of our hiking was on a rock path in sunlight (yes, I enjoyed myself) it's a Nice area to enjoy the day but not the very wooded area I was hoping. If I'm going to a forest I want to be immersed in trees. There was a historic barn and house which wasn't tour able but a photo op. There were other trails we did not embark but from the road view it seemed the other trails were also not in the woods. Finally, there is a dog park, and rumor has it you need a permit to have your dog “off leash” at the park.
Phil S — Google review
Forest Preserve with wide gravel well-kept trails. Signposts throughout. Horses on trails along with fresh horse manure. Deer seen on paths quickly bound away. Wooded and open areas. Large parking lot. Port a potty available.
D J — Google review
My dogs always have a great time here; when you go in the spring thru fall there are plenty of great doggie-blazed trails through all the brush in the middle. There's also huge open spaces for them to run out their energy, and a trail for humans to walk with their dogs. Most of the people who come here are also very considerate and pick up after their dogs.
Sarah M — Google review
It's a gravel path with peeks in elevation here and there. Port a potty along the way in case you forget to go at home. This is also a bike path so be vigilant. Definitely a good workout.
Renee S — Google review
Beautiful space. Amazing trails that are well maintained.

Not too bad, a decent size parking lot, actually lots as there is more than one and I've used both. Various trails allow you to take longer loops or shorter depending on how you feel that day.

The Naperville Riverwalk offers a unique perspective of the city, winding along the DuPage River with stunning views of downtown. The nearly two-mile walkway features charming covered bridges, award-winning landscaping, and tranquil fountains. Situated near historic sites and the bustling Downtown Naperville area, it provides easy access to dining and shopping. Families, young adults, and seniors can all enjoy this picturesque location with various activities available.
Gorgeous park in spite of ongoing construction. The covered bridges add a lot of ambiance to the area, the walk along the river is paved for easy walking and the water is clear. Well kept and spread out so uncrowded even with a lot of people.

We enjoyed a peaceful stroll along the Naperville Riverwalk, with its charming bridges, brick paths, and beautiful landscaping. The kids loved watching the ducks and tossing pebbles into the DuPage River. It’s a perfect mix of nature and small-town charm—definitely worth a stop.

We chanced upon this neat park on our way back to O’Hare. Highly recommend. Beautiful, shaded easy walk ( less than 2 miles on paved terrain). Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the native gardens and the river. Clean public restrooms near the playground and across the field from the “tower.”

Highly recommend downtown Naperville for anyone that just wants to go to kind of like a crystal fine or take the kids to the park or take the dog outside. You can kayak in the river or paddleboat in the quarry. Or you can learn more about everything in the library, there’s tons of parks in Naperville. I heard once that there’s a park within 10 minutes, walking distance of a house in the city. I’ve been living here for five years and I love it so much that I can’t escape. I love to go kayaking, hiking and fishing, and you can do all of that in Naperville without anybody bothering you there’s tons of hidden spots and hidden, especially in the shop downtown. There’s even free stuff for people who are looking for more affordable prices even in Naperville. Highly recommended 11 out of 10 I would rate 1000 if I could.

Beautiful place to walk. Walking can be easy or challenging. You pick. Also, you can swim in a quarry or paddle boat on another one. Big hill to run the kids up and down to tire them out. Lots of great restaurants nearby if you get hungry.

Such a unique and exquisite place with so many friendly and helpful people! Surrounded by many shops along with hotels. It is literally the centerpiece of Naperville in my opinion. Family friendly and pet friendly with a beach pool and recreational activities all around. It's a gem in every meaning.

Great walking trial available across the River in Naperville ; enough parking on roads ; you can park next to the pool in The road and then walk to the park ; good experience of walking with the family on the park ; kids will have fun ; adults can have peace of mind watching river flow and lot of chairs or benches available to sit and relax .. there are paddle boat services available too.

Just amazing 😍 didn’t expected this one to be this beautiful park. It was all of sudden plan to visit there as it was our marriage anniversary. Today the weather was so good , it was such a nice lake. We went there with a family , kids played nicely in a playground. There is a little sand area for kids to play. My kid loved playing there. They have pavilions too , had lunch there. Took a nice walk around a lake. Had a lovely anniversary celebration there 😍 Would definitely love to visit again for more gatherings.

Probably the nicest park that we've ever been to around here. Clean, nice, with walking, running, and bike paths, with playgrounds, very good design. Has everything you need for rest. Nice rest areas, barbecue place, nice views, and a cool pass from one side of the river to the other side.

It's a great park for a family walk, or if you have a child with an hour long class at Eola Center .5 miles away you can make it to the lake and around the loop in an hour. The path is a paved, divided bike and walking path. On behalf of cyclists, please stay to the right. Look for the gnomes in the forest!

It was good! Nice and clean and the football field was asphalt...as you can see the map .....it is in phases to help one with their workouts. The field not only is a football field and has out door field lights but it is also a soccer field. Someone came up with an awesome idea....Thanks Nappanee for having us as guests.

I’ve been coming to this park since it was first built and it’s absolutely my favorite. The equipment is usually pretty great and there is always life happening here. Tons of great pickup games that I’ve attended, but also some of the kids are extremely rude and play dirty. They renovated the turf field and the playground, 2 huge parts of the park. Hopefully they’ll fix up the rest of the soccer/football fields and the basketball courts. I really wish they had some sort of enforcement there to make sure people stop littering with waste and half filled bottles.

Coached a lot of baseball here - four back to back little league fields. Nice facilities. They’ve added a lot more including: 2 sand volleyball courts (bring your own lines), tennis courts, basketball courts, Soccer/lacrosse field, playground, nice restrooms (by 4 baseball courts NE side & play ground SW side)and all are lit and have switches for the users to turn on. I believe bathrooms and a concessions stand are there but unsure if their hours and availability during the year. This place is great. I primarily went to play basketball, and there are 2 courts. It wasn't crowded, although we went on the 4th of July in the morning, so that probably has something to do with it. There was ample parking, and there are bathrooms that are open during the day which was nice. I'll come here more often. Kids have great fun and there's splash pad area just adjacent to it You have covered seating places and a gathering place just beside your holding parties and picnic. There are restrooms too near the splash and are neatly maintained.
VforVishy V — Google review
This is a very fun place for kids because it has a splash pad and a playground, as well as pavilion on the plain field where adults can enjoy a concert or a picnic area. Few summers back my kid and I let out a kite for the first time. It was nice and windy and he enjoyed holding the string, though he dropped it a few times where we had to chase it around for a bit, all tangled up in a tree. Still, 1st time experience is to learn from for both participants. The splash pad is self explanatory, has allot of water splashing structures where kids from all ages enjoy spending time. Of course under adults supervision. There aren’t many tables available though, between 6-8. Regardless all the time that we attended, there was always a place to sit. The playground has allot of fun structures as well, for climbing, sliding and just running around. They have these soft foam as it’s floor so if a kid accidentally trips, they’re not gonna scratch their libs. It heats up though, can be very hot to walk around barefoot. Regardless we tried all ways and never had an issue. There’s plenty of parking space, even in crowded hot summer days but all the visitors are very friendly. I’ve noticed families of all sort of cultures from Hindu to Asian. And everyone is very polite & understanding if their kids misbehaved. There are tents available to hide from scorching sun and a public bathroom next door. I believe there’s a library nearby as well but we’ve never attended. The playground is relatively close to Naperville’s Showplace Drive Plaza intersection on 95th & 59th Routs so it’s very convenient place to get around. I definitely recommend that playground particularly during the summer because the kids have verity if activity’s they can attend around that place.

Excellent facilities for tennis, especially since courts are fenced off in 2x2, allowing some degree of separation from another group. Lack of shade may be an issue during heat of day, but night lights for evening play are terrific & very bright. No water courtside, but bathroom/water is a short walk towards the baseball fields. Nice park with a parking lot leading to a paved trail, picnic areas, and playground. Would do 5 stars if it had a trail leading circling back and one around the pond. Note there are multiple baseball fields, so I imagine this park is quite busy during the season. Otherwise it's very peaceful with lots of open green space.

Great clean park. Plenty of room to walk, jog or let the kids play. My grandson took pitching lessons there. Easy to find.

Pros: - Easily accessible with dedicated parking lot - Great playground with small and large kid areas - Two baseball fields - Fishing pond with - Paved and relatively wide walking path - Small, covered area with picnic tables - Large, open grassy spaces, some shaded by trees Cons: - Large kids playground equipment gets hot during sunny days - Access to lake is not easy (i.e. through native plants) - Walking path is not a loop

A local favorite. The path around the park offers beautiful views, the baseball pitch field is well maintained, the pond is perfect for fishing, the playground is perfect and safe for young ones, and the creek is fun for all ages. Couldn't ask for a better neighborhood park

Nice park. The porta potty had no toilet paper. Imagine being stuck, in a little plastic box, in high 80° weather. I thought it would be my stinky sweaty plastic injection molded sarcophagus until my friend, a true American hero, came and saved my buns both figuratively and literally. Also, it has a nice playground.

Naperville Sportsman's Park is a 27-acre property donated to the city, featuring a trapshooting facility open two days per week and ample green space for public enjoyment. Maintained by the Naperville Park District in partnership with the Naperville Sportsman's Club, it offers a well-run and safe environment for shooting enthusiasts. The park has undergone environmental remediation and now operates with steel ammunition to promote sustainability.
Great spot especially for Hunter Education Field Day! First of the kiddos is currently taking their field day here and so far so good. Nice simple facility and the staff who are all volunteers are very helpful. We need more hunters so I encourage everyone to give it a try. Google maps will take you to the wrong parking lot. Look for a big brown sign that says Sportsman's Park and then take that road all the way around and then will see the facility.

Very well run, extremely safe and clean establishment with many veteran shooters who are all happy to help. I was impressed and nailing the clay pigeons was great fun. It's a challenge for beginners and pros alike, although the electronic voice activation makes it a smooth experience. PULL! They've even removed all the old lead from the grounds and switched to steel only to be more environmentally friendly. You will need your own gun and must purchase ammo on site.
Shadow L — Google review
A hidden gem in downtown Naperville, they have three trap fields and you can shoot singles, doubles, or wobble. Last time I was there it cost me $13.25 per round... including shells! You can only shoot steel ammo and they only take cash, but the volunteer members are super friendly and the facilities are simple but well maintained. Stations are voice activated and a member observes each field for safety and also keeps score. Check schedules though, as I think they only have open shooting a couple times per week.
Beau D — Google review
Great staff, always willing to help. They have a fine introduction program and training classes during the summer. Just south of downtown Naperville so plenty of places to go after a couple rounds of Trap Shooting.
Louis L — Google review
1st time going was a pleasure. It's a very well run facility. A quick stop in the shack to sign in and pay, and you are on the range. You have to use their ammo which is marked up a few dollars from what you can get at the store but minimal for being able to use the range. Most people were using a 12 gauge so I was worried they may not have ammo for my 20 but they did. I'm not sure what else they carry in stock. All in all, a good experience. Would do again.

Nice secluded playground overlooking a lake. The path down to it is nestled between two houses in a small cul-de-sac which threw me a little. There are two decent sections, one for older kids and one for younger ones. Both have lots to do! There are swings and a few whizzy dizzies. There is a decent covered area with picnic benches under it and two benches at the playground. No restrooms or drinking fountains.

Nice path along the river for walking or biking with a lot of open park.

Review is for the River Access. Not an 'official' river access launch, but it does work. It's north of the this park. Stauffer Dr is a dead end, We dropped the yaks there, then shuttled cars to our take out, drove one car back and paddled thru Naperville River walk. I wish someone would make an official launch. If you drop in here, you are below Fawell Dam and in-turn, do not need to portage. However it is an easy but long portage.

There’s a trailhead on Jefferson Ave downtown Naperville. You can take the trail north along the West branch of the DuPage River miles north until you hit the Prairie path trail. When the river floods it can go over the trail and close it. Great views through a number of parks with plenty of places to stop if you like.

What an amazing space for hiking with family and pets! Clean trails for hiking, the one around the lake is my favo— It was about 1.6 miles long, great for dog walking as well. Although, there is a huge dog park (paid) at this location, we prefer to walk our dog on the trails and he loves meeting other dogs in the way. 🐶 If you’re cycling here and in case of any issues, there’s a whole repairing kit/tools provided adjacent to the restroom (at the entry). This was our second trip to Whalen Lake. It is a small park but has a paved path around the lake, a dog park, sea wall, a pavillion, and kayak rental. We walked the path around the lake. Woodridge held its 4th of July picnic here yesterday. Not since 2019; 4 years ago. It was a fine sunny day, cooler under the Oaks. Turnout was about half of the regular crowd, but that meant no lines for beer and food. Speaking of, a pint of canned beer was $ 5 for each Michelob Ultra Lite and Bud Lite. DJ this year, rather than the old-time blue grass band. It was good to be back and see some friends there. Police were low-key, and we were happy to have them around.

Although this is a 9- hole course with just a couple of long holes, it was very much fun! First few run thru these electric towers then the rest thru a nice park with nice trees. Wintry mix on the ground with wind and temp about 38 degrees Fahrenheit, the ground in some areas was pretty wet but playable. I'll be back with friends to visit in the area. (There are quite a few champ level courses not to far away though! 😎)

The playground has two playsets, both of which seem to be aimed lower in their age ranges. The 2-5 year old playset feels safe for my 1.5 year old, and the 5-12 playset is mostly a good size for a larger than average 4.5 year old. There's also a small sand pit with two hand operated diggers, two spinners, and a swingset. There's three picnic tables nicely located under shade.

Students are expected to attend class four days a week while rotating through various veteran clinical sites, working alongside veterinarians while they develop a better understanding for the work that the field entails

Very well maintained. Sheriff Police were there for security and traffic. Very well organized. The porta potties did get unpleasant and there should have been more of them. But that can be fixed. Great experience.

Park
Kendall Park, located in the suburbs of Chicago, has recently undergone renovations and now features new equipment and a shaded seating area. The park offers a view of the Metra and trains, making it an enjoyable experience for children. It retains many mature trees, providing a pleasant spot to take a break or have a snack. Visitors appreciate the park's peaceful atmosphere and its proximity to downtown and a museum.
I have loved this park from when I came here as a kid. The best part is the bushes you can hide inside. The playground has changed for the better. It's a cute small park that is off the main roads so not as busy. Plus you're right at the train station!
Loryn R — Google review
Recently renovated with some great equipment and a shaded seating area. Able to see the Metra and trains as well, a joy for the littles. Thankfully they kept a lot of the mature trees as well for a good place to take a break and snack under.
Matt L — Google review
Came out here with our 2 year-old daughter on a Sunday evening. Fairly regular/run-of-the-mill park for the area. Pros: - Not busy. Cons: - Street parking - Can get a bit loud due to its proximiy to the Metra train tracks.

Wonderful park! It is just the perfect size! There is a baseball fence and home plate, a big open field, a smaller one on the side and a basketball court. There is also a playground with a seesaw. Extremely neat and well kept park, as I was volunteering to help keep the community clean I noticed that this was one of the tidiest parks out there. Families are always having a great time here as well. The park has everything you could ask for; a large field, basketball court and full playground in addition to benches to sit on to do work. Overall great place to relax.

Memorial park
Firemen's Memorial Park in Naperville is a serene and well-maintained park featuring a beautiful statue and a peaceful atmosphere. Situated near Jefferson Street, the park offers a tranquil setting for relaxation amidst the bustling city. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, take in the scenic surroundings, and unwind on the available bench. It's an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful retreat or looking to immerse themselves in nature within the urban landscape of Naperville.
I've lived in Naperville for a few years now, but stumbled across this memorial park while walking some dogs. It's a very nice statue and park that's very well kept. There is a bench there to sit and relax. It is right by Jefferson Street so it can be noisy with lots of traffic at peak times of the day and weekends.
