Nestled in the picturesque Czech Village of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library stands as a vibrant tribute to the rich heritage and experiences of Czech and Slovak immigrants. This cultural gem features engaging galleries that delve into their history, including a captivating permanent exhibition titled "Faces of Freedom: The Czech and Slovak Journey." This multimedia experience takes visitors through significant historical events such as the World Wars and life under Communist rule, ultimately highlighting their quest for freedom in America.
Very informative and knowledgable staff! Everyone was very welcoming and as we only had a short time to spend there they were able to give suggestions on what to see quickly. Quality exhibits and gift shop with great gift ideas. Worth the stop and perfect location to then walk around an explore more of the Czech Village.
Elizabeth K — Google review
Professionally curated collections including both historical and modern treasures. The museum highlights the Immigrant experience as well as the home country experience. People exploring their heritage will find an abundance of information on Czech and Slovak culture. The volunteers offer valuable insights and personal stories. The gift shop includes authentic pieces for purchase. Additionally, the library has limitless resources and helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Paige K — Google review
The museum represents our history, which should resonate deeply with every Slovak and Czech. It reminds us where we came from, what kind of world we once lived in, and why we should value freedom and democracy. Powerful stories of our ancestors are told here.
Richard R — Google review
Worth the stop. In this era when immigration is pivoting, I am so glad to drop in to this museum; and listen to the VOICES of FREEDOM. This exhibit helps me realize just how grateful I am for the freedom and privileges I have inherited. I live on the backs of those who came before me here in this land, and those who sacrificed for the preservation of our liberties and ideals. Beautifully and artfully done.
PTR — Google review
This museum contains exhibits and artifacts chronicling the arrival of Czech and Slovak immigrants to the United States. The museum also contains a store and library, which includes books and periodicals for research. The staff are very knowledgeable about this overlooked piece of American history. Highly recommended for history buffs.
Jerel J — Google review
As someone who enjoys visiting museums across the US that focus on the cultures and countries from which immigrants came to America, I can confidently say the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids is an absolute gem. Impressive Scale and Infrastructure The size of this facility is truly astounding. This isn't just a small cultural center—it's a comprehensive 50,000 square-foot institution that rivals major museums in much larger cities. The infrastructure is remarkable. Outstanding Exhibits and Experiences The exhibits were superb throughout. Each display thoughtfully tells the story of Czech and Slovak immigration and culture, making it accessible whether you have personal connections to this heritage or are simply curious about American immigration history. A particular highlight was watching the clock tower's on-the-hour display of Czech workmanship—it's a rewarding experience that showcases the artistic traditions and craftsmanship that immigrants brought with them to America. A Source of Pride Having grown up in Northwest Iowa and spent time in Omaha, I've seen how immigrant communities maintain connections to their heritage. The Czechs, both those from the US and from the Czech Republic itself, must be incredibly proud of this museum. It's clear that significant care, resources, and love have gone into creating this institution. Bottom Line This is absolutely a must-visit destination in Iowa. Whether you're interested in immigration history, Czech and Slovak culture, or simply appreciate well-curated museums, the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library delivers an exceptional experience that honors both the immigrant journey and the rich cultural traditions that continue to enrich American communities today.
Henry — Google review
This is an entry fee well worth spent. You could literally spend two days in this place looking at the exhibits.
MajikMan747 — Google review
My husband and I stumbled in here, the displays were so informative and I love learning about another culture. We ended walking around for a couple of hours, the clothes and music were by far my favorite, the ship was also pretty cool. The gift shop seemed crazy high in prices but worth getting a couple of trinkets to commemorate your visit, the ladies working there were so nice!

Cedar Rapids Museum of Art boasts a collection of over 7,000 works that emphasizes on American art from the 20th century. The museum is cozy and not too large, making it a pleasant space to explore. Notably, the museum features an impressive exhibition of Grant Wood's artwork, including his famous 'Woman with Plants.' Visitors can also enjoy other artworks such as Frieseke's 'Before the Window.'
Beautiful museum with lots of artwork and history to see and learn about! This museum holds the largest collection of Grant Wood works of art in the world, literally! We saw they were offering free admission for a limited time so we took advantage of that opportunity with having a group of people to take. Well worth the hour drive 🥰
Shellby — Google review
Wonderful museum in Cedar Rapids. I learned a lot about Grant Wood. Worth a visit if you're downtown. I appreciate the local artist exhibitions as well.
Jen B — Google review
Highly recommend visiting! I love and appreciate the free admission during the summer months. They have such beautiful and unique art pieces that will rotate sometimes. It is so fun coming back and seeing what is new. The staff are friendly and helpful in answering any questions you may have. The museum is quiet, clean, and spacious. There are plenty of areas for sitting, including a large sitting and reading room. I also love visiting their gift shop that has a wide variety of items for anyone’s taste or preference, even having a kids section. We parked in front of the museum on the street, which is free on evenings and weekends. Looking forward to my next visit.
Megan — Google review
We happened to visit on a day that was free. Parts of the building have a mild mildew smell to it, I’m not a fan of that. That aside the seeing art with the kids was fun. It’s two stories and there’s a gift shop. Be prepared to pay well beyond retail value for everything except a soda at the gift shop.
Sarah S — Google review
I'll go ahead and give them five stars because it was free the day/time I went, and they don't force you to exit thru the gift shop. Otherwise it's a bit small but since I don't know what they charge even I won't judge them for that. What they did have was generally pretty impressive, the Grant Wood collection was surprisingly beautiful. The Roman section had some great historic items as well. There's as a large focus on local Iowa artists, and a lot of landscape works at the moment at least. Plenty of free parking in the area on weekdays, I saw a garage too but don't know the situation. Staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely worth checking out. Building is old and pretty cool.
Joe S — Google review
Absolutely delightful! Warm and welcoming staff. Quiet and spacious - allowing you to absorb yourself in the transcend environment. You really must go!
Terry M — Google review
Clean, friendly and organized. Good selection of local art, just small in size. Good way to soak up 30 min if needed!
Eric S — Google review
I really enjoyed my first visit to this wonderful museum; my primary purpose was to see their Grant Wood collection. I phoned ahead of time to better understand their holdings as well as their relationship to the Grant Wood studio a few blocks away. I was fortunate enough to speak with Sean, the Executive Director, who went above and beyond to not only answer my basic questions, but also to provide many suggestions as to how to maximize my visit, including his recommendation to ensure that I view their works by Marvin Cone, whom I was not familiar with. I am grateful for Sean's guidance, and am now a new fan of Cone. The museum has a well-rounded curation, and features a variety of types paintings, sculpture, and ceramics, to name a few, as well as a fantastic museum store. I highly recommend a visit.

Brucemore is a grand 19th-century mansion situated on a historic 26-acre estate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It serves as a tribute to the legacies of three prominent local families. Initially constructed in 1884 for Caroline and her children, it was renowned as 'the grandest house west of Chicago.' The mansion was designed in the Queen Anne style but underwent renovations by subsequent owners, George and Irene Douglas, who transformed it into a simpler Craftsman style.
Beautiful historic home tour. Ticket prices are very reasonable for such a lovely tour. We saw the Christmas display, but wish to return in summer to see the gardens. Staff was very kind and knowledgeable.
Marie R — Google review
I enjoyed the tour and got impressed by the interior. You can learn about the history of the owners. There is a garden as well. There is also a souvenir shop.
Zzz P — Google review
A beautiful historic home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The house tour was informative, interesting, and even had a few twists! The grounds and gardens are beautiful and open to the public for a stroll, to walk the dog, or wander with children. It must necessarily be a wonderful and g.j gorgeous backdrop f ou r the many community arts events held there. I am looking forward to returning during the holiday season.
Lynn H — Google review
Only toured the grounds so can’t speak to the inside of the house. Grounds were beautiful to walk around, some paved paths, but otherwise you can just walk through the gardens and hilltop. Free to see the grounds so worth it for a quick stop. They could use some better signage for some of the buildings. Even if we had time to tour the house, didn’t even know where to get the tickets. One staff member we saw was less than helpful and couldn’t even direct us. Google maps may take you to the “exit” to get in, so look for the one small sign on 1st pointing to actual main entrance.
Elizabeth K — Google review
Very interesting and unique historic property. Only $5 to explore the mansion. The organ alone is worth the admission. The Grant Wood porch is a real gem for artistic types. I only wish the interpretive displays and brochures would explain more of how the families who lived here positively impacted the local community and how their philanthropy was significant to the city/region. Talking to the docents, there is a lot of additional information that could be shared. This additional information is what makes a historic property interesting. This alone dropped it one star. Otherwise, it would be five stars for me.
Nickelrt — Google review
If you live in Iowa this is a must stop to learn about the families behind the biggest industries in Cedar Rapids. The home is filled with an amazing history and I truly enjoyed the tour.
Travis B — Google review
Worth the price of admission. We had a great tour guide and it was just two of us . Tours are every hour. Gardens and property are nice to walk through as well. Very interesting history. Don't miss the basement

Indian Creek Nature Center, located on the outskirts of Cedar Rapids along the Cedar River, offers an expansive natural environment for outdoor activities and educational experiences. The center's 210 acres of diverse land include prairie, forest, and wetlands with scenic trails suitable for hiking, bird watching, cross-country skiing, and fishing. Visitors can also explore Amazing Space, a sustainable building featuring exhibits such as the Bird Room and interactive watershed table.
Educational, specially for the kids. Trails were nice, parking was good. Recommended for a nice quiet afternoon.
Paul K — Google review
The all-terrain wheelchairs allowed our whole family to enjoy the trails together, for the first time in years! The guide was gracious and helpful in showing us how to use the chairs and pick the best trails-and even loaning us bug repellent to be more comfortable. We’re anxious to come back in the fall for a longer hike in cool weather.
Melissa S — Google review
We were trying to find something to do between drop-offs at the airport. It was a nice day so we were looking for something to do outside. We saw the review which mentioned all-terrain wheelchairs so thought we would try it since my wife needs to use a walker or wheelchair and also really enjoys plants. The staff person was helpful, the wheelchair was easy to use and maneuver and allowed all of us to see parts of the grounds.
Marcus M — Google review
This nature preserve and protected prairie meadow is a treasure in Linn County. There are beautiful walking trails through all kinds of terrain; wooded, river side and winding through the meadow. Birds and other wildlife are visible with quiet and patience. The changing seasons here are a delight to the senses. Take the time to enjoy the interactive nature center and event space where you will learn about native habitat, plant identification, and bird and animal characteristics. A very nice gift shop is at the center. Update: The beauty of a nature center and its trails are that it has changing vistas, ever blooming wildflowers, birds, and insects. My favorite season is August, when the many varied prairie meadow grasses are nodding in the wind. Dragonflies are abundant. Update: Once again, a visit to the Indian Creek nature center revives the spirit and calms the soul. The golden meadow of December is just as beautiful to me as the fresh green of spring.
Ann M — Google review
A great place e for the kids to learn about how we relate to nature and can not be so intrusive to other mammals, birds and other wildlife. They also have lots of interesting camps for time kids

Went for the golf cart tour. unfortunately no one had signed up and it was canceled. Cool spot to check out. Hopefully catch the full tour soon.

Staff was nice. The hammocks were cool but the trail to get to them wasnt maintained. Disappointed there wasn't more to see indoors, this place is mostly trails and a small outdoor area for children.

I truly enjoyed visiting the Paramount Theatre in Cedar Rapids! It's absolutely stunning. We were the to watch Killer Queen. It was a great time all around!
Amanda K — Google review
As most have said this is an absolutely amazingly beautiful theater. It is an old theatre, so the seats are on the small side and being 6'4" the railings are quite low. We sat Row A Loge. Like "I decided against having a beer as I didn't want to plummet to my death" low. Other than that amazing show amazing venue great friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Dave B — Google review
I've been to the paramount a few times, I've sat up front and in the very back up in the balcony, I'm convinced there is no bad seat there. The chairs can be slightly uncomfortable but most stadium seat can get this way. It won't stop me from returning but might be a consideration if you have back issues. The theater is absolutely beautiful and the staff has always been very kind.
Teresa S — Google review
The Paramount Theatre is a wonderful venue, with elegant architecture, and superb acoustics. My Wife and I have been to theatrical plays (such as Cats), concerts, like Mandisa and The News Boys, and a comedy presentation with Preacher Lawson. All events have been very enjoyable and we continue to keep a watchful eye out for future events.
James F — Google review
We are so fortunate to have this gem of a venue in Cedar Rapids. The property is so beautiful and completely restored after the 2008 flood. This a GREAT Place to take in a show. Our party of four attended The Kenny Wayne Shepherd concert they played a two hour non stop show and came back out for two more songs.
Len T — Google review
This is a beautiful place to see a show. It is a smaller, more personal venue. From the old ticket booth as the "Will Call", to the chandeliers, to the beautiful ceilings & interior, the venue itself is a show worth seeing. I saw Blue October in covert there, the sound was great as well. I will definitely go to shows here again.
Trish N — Google review
We went to see Swan Lake. The production was phenomenal! However, I'll say that the seating is extraordinarily tight. There is no shoulder room. If you're on the end of a row, be prepared to step into the aisle rather than just standing to let someone out... very VERY tight. I'm less than five feet tall, and it was uncomfortable for me to sit through the entire ballet. If the seating were spaced more comfortably, I would have quickly given five stars.
Faith W — Google review
The Paramount theater is a nice setting for plays, concerts and different kinds of shows. The acoustics are wonderful. The space is large, however it has a cozy feeling to it. There really are not any bad seats. The service people are nice and the refreshments are okay priced. It is a beautifully redone place well worth a visit. Just saw weird Al last night. Still a great place.

NewBo City Market, situated in the New Bohemia neighborhood, is a thriving indoor market established in 2012 to revitalize the flood-devastated district. It features unique stores and eateries supporting local entrepreneurs and artists. The Rotary Hall at the heart of the market hosts independent food and craft vendors, a commercial kitchen, and special events. Additionally, it serves as an entrepreneurial incubator for small businesses.
This market had good food options and some fun shops as well. It wasn't very busy which surprised me during lunch time. However, lots to choose from. We got Pita's and it was very fresh and tasty. There was a lot of seating available on the otherside and this was a perfect place to stop on our 8 hour road trip from Minnesota to St. Louis.

Lots of neat shops!! Witchy shop, CBD shop, lots of good vendors (omg Indian food!!) Coffee djop- pretty awesome!

I'm definitely going to start reading the negative reviews not just the most recent ones! This place is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the images. Maybe 3 or 4 booths and same with tables. Mostly junk minus an excellent woodworker and a super sweet jewelry booth. Food looked average. If you are traveling through looking for something cool to do, dont bother with this one!
Julie H — Google review
Cool little market place in the New Bohemian distric. It has a selection of food, coffee, sweets and vendors. Was here in a Saturday, but it wasn't too busy. If you're in Cedar Rapids, stop here and check it out.

Love this place for a drop in drink and/or bite. Usually has clean restrooms and good wifi. Great variety of eats and treats. Oja has the best wraps and cake rolls!! Roasters has the best smoothies!
Stacy C — Google review
There's always something new here, whether it be a new vendor, or the temporary vendors. Half sister took the business card of the person selling macarons and I wish I got a photo of it because they were both adorable and absolutely delicious. Can be crowded when they're busy, but it's a must-go for anyone who hasn't been and is looking for a snack or to kill some time walking around
Sarah B — Google review
Nice place to grab a bite and depending on weather, you can sit inside or outdoors. They also have trivia indoors for who may like to participate. This is a small but powerful museum it captures the history and the spirit of the African-American in Iowa a story often never told .both my mother myself and my children enjoyed it'll take about an hour to an hour and a half to go through so if you find yourself in cedar rapids Iowa it's definitely worth the visit.

Learned more about Iowa's Black History. It would be great for parents to tour there to teach there kids. I could have spent more time. The audio headphones were great. I will go back! Very reasonable education.
Carol L — Google review
I really enjoyed the current exhibit and learned some new things.
Lando C — Google review
Having recently been to the holocaust museum, I wasn't sure what I was in store for here. Luckily it wasn't nearly as traumatizing of an experience, and was more one of education and disgust for prior generations, elders, and southerners that I felt. There's a ton to read in the first section and it's disturbing but very informative details on the slave trade. Then you go into accomplishments of African American scientists, athletes, president, etc. The current exhibit that I believe changes was racist items from the past. It's curious that people could ever think some of these things were acceptable or funny. Many people seem to act like this is far gone history, when it's kind of not. I'm a middle aged white guy and even I knew someone who knew a slave first hand. So if you think about it, it really wasn't that long ago, and this isn't something we should ignore or forget. Especially with everything going on today.
Joe S — Google review
I enjoyed visiting the museum and would recommend it to others. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I was already familiar with most of the topics, and it's a fairly small collection that we got through in less than an hour.

One of the hot places to be in the town though there wasn't mich happening on this early evening on a Thursday night at the start of November. Many restaurants as well as the newbo market to dine in or watch an outdoor comcert.

A wonderful place to shop. Sadly after 35 years including the 2008 flood, the owners have sold the building and are retiring. December 7, 2025 will be the last day open. The good news is that several of the vendors are moving to the new Oddmama's Antique Mall 1216 2nd Ave. SE Cedar Rapids. Grand opening November 1. Hope see you there.

Fun and engaging area that includes the check museum. The museum itself was really fun and exceptionally well appointed. The staff there was tremendously welcoming.
Terry M — Google review
Coming from Prague it was interesting to see this area. The new apartments in the district made me think of the new apartment buildings in Karlín. I liked Cedar Rapids on the whole. It is similar to a modern Czech city, with bike paths and buses. Also the murals in this market area were like you'd see in Olomouc or another city in CR.
Paul B — Google review
This was my first visit to the museum. The immigrant house was fascinating. As were the galleries. They had several cases with glass on display. The docent said they have quite a bit more, it was just not currently on display. It would be wonderful to see more. Maybe next time. The docents were very knowledgeable about their subjects and very friendly.
Angela L — Google review
The village is a small area and it's very walkable and you can visit a multitude of interesting shops. Make sure you visit the Czech Museum since I found it worthy. I had very little concept of the struggles in this country and after a visit I came away with tremendous respect upon learning the history and endurance of the Czech people. This museum has an unusable way of transmitting personal struggles. You must visit. Honestly, I am not a fan of museums, but I do recommend this one. I especially enjoyed the film showing how this large museum was moved after a severe flood. Fascinating.

We had an amazing day visiting the Czech Village On Main Street District. Thank you to my son for taking me to see this amazing community. We will be going back on my next visit to the area. The Museum is well worth the time to go and see. Beautiful area amazing people so friendly and welcoming. The Glass shop oh my goodness stop by and say hello, they have glass that glows under the light. Have a blessed day. Merry Christmas to all in Cedar Rapids Iowa

I felt it was hyped to be more than it was. And the main store I wanted to go to wasn't open during our entire trip so that was a bummer. You also couldn't really tell you were there, because nothing was marked as the Czech Village District.

Ushers Ferry Historic Village is a reconstructed town resembling the period of 1890-1910. It boasts over 20 buildings that are open seasonally for educational programs and tours. The village is notable for its safe Halloween event, which features costume contests, face paint, bouncy houses, and candy booths manned by over twenty vendors. This venue also serves as an excellent location to hold special events due to its friendly staff who provide tables and chairs.
We had the most incredible wedding experience at Ushers Ferry, and it's all thanks to the exceptional team and venue they have to offer. From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were met with warmth, professionalism, and a level of personalized care and attention to detail that exceeded our wildest expectations. One of the standout features of Ushers Ferry was how easy it was to communicate with their coordinators. Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, but Cathy at Ushers Ferry made it a breeze. She was always just a phone call or email away, ready to answer our questions, offer guidance, and provide reassurance throughout the entire process. Her responsiveness and willingness to accommodate our every need truly set them apart. The team at Ushers Ferry is not only experienced and professional but also incredibly personable. Cathy is a gem and made us feel like family from the moment we walked through the doors. Their genuine care for our happiness and her passion for creating memorable weddings shone through in every interaction. It's evident that she loves what she does, and it made our wedding planning journey enjoyable and stress-free. We had the pleasure of working with Cathy for almost an entire year leading up to the wedding. When it got closer, Theresa took over for set-up and the day of the wedding. I can happily say she matched the positive, reassuring, professional, and pleasant energy we have been experiencing from the beginning. She was attentive, communicative, a joy to be around, and she got s*** done (which is exactly what you want on your wedding day!). One of the major benefits of choosing Ushers Ferry as our wedding venue was the freedom to select our own vendors. This flexibility was incredibly valuable to us (financially and creatively), as it allowed us to bring our dream team of vendors to life, ensuring that every aspect of our wedding reflected our taste and style. It's a level of control and customization that not all venues offer, and it made our day all the more special. In summary, Ushers Ferry and its exceptional team of coordinators exceeded our expectations in every way. Their easy communication, personalized care, attention to detail, professionalism, and personable approach made our wedding day an unforgettable experience. I can't end this review without mentioning the absolutely breathtaking grounds and environment. We got married in the chapel and it was intimate, beautiful, unique, and exactly what we imagined. We can't thank them enough for their dedication to making our wedding dreams come true. If you're looking for a wedding venue that truly cares about you as a couple and goes above and beyond to make your day perfect, Ushers Ferry is the place to choose. We are forever grateful for the memories they helped us create. Thank you, Ushers Ferry, for making our wedding day the best day of our lives! With heartfelt gratitude, Ashley and Liz Ernst ***photos taken by Rock Tai Photography***

The Grant Wood Studio and Visitor Center is a must-visit destination in Cedar Rapids. This studio, which served as Grant Wood's personal workspace from 1924 to 1935, is where he created some of his most iconic paintings, including American Gothic. The light-filled loft showcases Wood's unique interior design and offers insights into the artist's life and quirks. Visitors can explore the modest apartment where Wood lived with his family while creating many of his renowned works.
A tour of the studio where Grant Wood created some of his most lasting works. If this is something you are interested in then you will like this.

Definitely wanted to share my positive experience at this amazing place. The free tour starts with a well-produced video that immerses you into the world of Grant Wood: personal history, career history, accolades and awards, and great backstories to many of his iconic creations. I highly recommend you see this video before attending the art museum, because it is great reference to prime you for what you will see in person. The studio tour is great, and as you are shown all of the features of the studio and are told about its background, what truly amazes is that Wood crafted it all out of a simple, primitive hayloft — Everything. Keep that in mind, because your respect for him will multiply exponentially. My hosts, Dan and Kevin, were both friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable — the passion they both have for the space is authentic and contagious. Extremely pleased I went!

The Grant Wood Studio and Visitor Center is a wonderful treasure of history that has been carefully maintained by the excellent staff at the Cedar Rapids Museum.
Greg J — Google review
As an art teacher it was interesting to hear a bit more about grant wood but I was more invested in the neat architecture and design of the studio space. That said, my partner was not very happy with how long the visit was. When we stopped into the visitor area we were asked to sit and watch a 25 minute video about Grant Wood and his life which admittedly wasn’t my favorite part. I would suggest, if you have the confidence to do so, that you ask to skip the video.

Great spot to visit with a lot of really interesting information about Grant Wood’s life! It was so cool to get a peek inside his studio and home. Plus, admission is free! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Fascinating little place where Grant Wood lived and painted. He was brilliant in converting what was basically just a hay loft into a very efficient living space. It gave me a new understanding of the person behind such famous paintings as American Gothic.

Lion Bridge Brewing Co. is a popular brewery nestled in Cedar Rapids Czech Village, offering a diverse selection of craft beers and delectable food options. The spacious taproom and outdoor patio provide a laid-back setting to savor their award-winning brews and eclectic menu, which includes Eastern European-inspired dishes like Pierogies as well as global favorites such as Arancini and Mexican Street Corn Dip. With its inviting atmosphere, rustic decor, and friendly staff, Lion Bridge Brewing Co.
Came in on a Tuesday around dinner time and was able to find a spot right at the bar. The beertender sorted me out pretty quick and gave me the rundown on the options. All the beers on my flight felt like quality brews. I went with the pierogies as I’ve never had some before, and they were great with the cream and onions - pretty hearty considering. Definitely yummy food.

If you like beer, there’s plenty to try. We don’t like beer; we just went for the food. Service was excellent. Our server was Rachel. The restaurant was clean, sparse decor (which I prefer). One huge screen with a game on, but plenty of seating far away from it. Outside seating available too. Food and drink: If you want water, you have to get it yourself from a water station. So… almost full-service? Coke products in cans. Hard slushee- flavor was blueberry-something- absolutely delicious Cheese curds- some of the best in town! Chicken salad sandwich- a little odd on pretzel bread. Nothing special. Served with potato chips unless you upgrade the side. Cheeseburger- wasn’t asked how I wanted it cooked. So I assumed it was a frozen patty and would be cooked medium well. This one was so pink I couldn’t eat most of it. Fries- I upgraded to house fries. Seasoned well, but they weren’t fully cooked. Couldn’t eat those either. Glad to have ordered the cheese curds. The rest of my meal I brought home to finish cooking.

A true gem in Eastern Iowa’s craft beer scene! These folks have been absolutely crushing it for years—consistently delivering top-tier brews and unbeatable service. Their IPAs like Majestic Beast, Off-Grid, and Wolf Shirt are some of the finest around—flavorful, and expertly crafted. Home Baked easily lands in my top 5 stouts of all time, and their sours? Rock solid and refreshing. The recent addition of Ian’s Pizza has taken the experience to the next level. If you haven’t tried their Mac & Cheese pizza, you’re seriously missing out—it’s phenomenal.
Matthew T — Google review
Above average IPAs, some fun sours, and decent traditional style beers. Decent pub food. Fish tacos are good. Chicken sandwiches were decent but seemed like it may have not been the freshest fryer oil based on how the breading tasted. Pierogis are a great snack as well!

My favorite brewery in Cedar Rapids! Tons of space, both indoor and outdoor seating. The beer is super tasty, I really like the Peachy Keen especially on a hot day. The pierogies were delicious, not something you see on menus often so I love that they have them! I also got the Witwer Chicken Sandwich which was fantastic - the chicken was cooked perfectly, the honey Sriracha glaze was amazing, and the fries are seasoned really well. Love this place!

Cobble Hill is a vintage-chic restaurant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, offering creative New American dishes and specialty cocktails. The city of Cedar Rapids boasts world-class arts and culture, family-friendly festivals, a growing shopping scene, fabulous restaurants like Cobble Hill, award-winning wineries and breweries. The restaurant prides itself on valuing local products and showcasing a deep dedication to craft and technique in the kitchen. It aims to serve food with a story while providing the purest form of hospitality.
Cobble Hill: A Cozy Culinary Gem Worthy of Acclaim Cobble Hill offers a truly delightful dining experience, particularly for those seeking a warm and inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, the cozy ambiance envelops you, making it the perfect spot for a special occasion or a relaxing evening out. The inviting chef's counter adds an intriguing element, allowing diners to witness the culinary magic firsthand. During my visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in the Parisian Gnocchi with lamb. Let me tell you, it was an absolute revelation. The lamb was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail. The gnocchi, light and pillowy, provided a perfect counterpoint to the rich, savory lamb. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. The lamb leg, cooked to perfection, was equally impressive – flavorful, tender, and simply divine. The service at Cobble Hill was equally impressive. Our server was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations and answering our questions with enthusiasm. Their passion for the food clearly shone through, enhancing the overall dining experience. While I can only speak to the dishes I tried, the quality of the Parisian Gnocchi and lamb suggests that the rest of the menu is equally inspired. Cobble Hill clearly prioritizes quality ingredients and expert preparation, creating dishes that are both comforting and sophisticated. It's easy to see why Cobble Hill is a James Beard Award semifinalist. I highly recommend Cobble Hill to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The cozy atmosphere, exceptional food, and friendly, knowledgeable service make it a true culinary gem.

We an excellent experience at Cobble Hill! Everything was super tasty, and I really appreciated the seasonal menu. Since the menu changes frequently, it’s probably not worth describing each dish - but my husband and I loved everything we had! My fish was cooked perfectly, the appetizer was delicious, and we liked all of our drinks as well. Our server was knowledgeable and kept our meal right on pace. The building itself is super cute and the ambiance of the interior is perfect for a cute date night!

What an amazing tasting menu experience! The decor makes you feel like you've walked into a movie set from the 30s. Antique furniture gives vibes of opulence, yet everything is warm and inviting. Seating is comfortable. Reservations were easy, and you can tell they spent time and care crafting the tasting menu and wine parings. I was excitedvenough to trybeach course that I did not get everything written down. 1st course was Carrot, kolrabi, emuilison garlic and one of my favorites of the night. Next was Rice vermicelli noodles lime braised lamb toasted peanuts, scallions-'asian inspired' they said and while good, did not mesh with the rest. 3rd was Green Garlic veloute pork tenderloin, garlic scapes,- deviously creamy and not too strong. Next was Flar iron steak , asparagus in a sauce I'll be talking about for years. Finally ' floating Islands' a marshmellow, strawberry, mint and cream desert that stole the show. Service was impeccable, smart and friendly. Excellent all around. You deserve stars.

First time trying this restaurant. Menu always features unusual food choices that are not on a typical restaurant menu. i.e. Duck, Ratatouille, Venison not my idea of a great meal. However, we decided to try out the dessert menu because that's usually a safe choice. I was pleasantly surprised at the Gelato option. I tried a lemon balm infused with something.... Gelato was creamy but the flavor was so light it was hard to say it was lemony! Warm Cinnamon sugar dusted donuts filled with chocolate cream were served with pot de creme - chocolate cream topped with whipped soy milk. Interesting .

Usher Greg kicked us out of the mezzanine seats, even though there was NO ONE sitting there, simply because we didn’t have tickets for that section. We were in a suite with outdoor seats right next to the mezzanine, and since it was chilly, we wanted to move to where the sun was. When I asked why we had to leave, he said, "It's the rule." I followed up, asking if we were sitting in someone’s seat or bothering anyone, and his response was the same: "It's the rule." Well, Greg, that rule is unreasonable—especially when no one is using the seats. If you want to keep customers happy, let us enjoy the game without taking anyone’s paid seat, you’ve failed at providing basic customer service. Very poor experience overall. 👎👎 to Usher Greg!

Public library
The Cedar Rapids Public Library, located near the city's Museum of Art, boasts a sleek and modern design that was completed in 2013 following the destruction caused by the Iowa flood of 2008. However, its origins trace back to an 1896 public vote that designated a small room for it in the Granby building. The library offers various amenities such as computer stations, meeting rooms, electronic charging hubs, WiFi access, and even treadmills.
It is such a delight to come home for the holidays and see this magnificent place, continuing to be one of thee most inclusive places in Cedar Rapids. *Everyone* is able to utilize the Cedar Rapids Public Library, and they encourage you to do so. The staff is engaging. I am elated I was able to sign up for a library card even though I no longer live in the area.
Emily S — Google review
Architecturally, this library is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen. Looks really nice on the outside and inside. You’d almost have trouble believing the building is over a decade old. Has a built in cafe on the main floor with a wide selection of books/resources for all age groups. Study rooms, free Wi-Fi, computers—all the basics you’d expect to see in a library are here. The main issues I observed were the parking, which isn’t as accessible, along with a noticeable homeless population that seems to pass through or camp out within the library. I visited here on the weekend, which perhaps could explain this. The library is also located in the core of downtown Cedar Rapids, so it isn’t a surprise. Still, the smell of marijuana in a library is definitely a little weird.
Minespidur — Google review
This is a beautiful library and the staff always greets you with a smile when you come in. Plenty of spots for reading, using the internet, browing the large book selections with new titles, dvds, music cds, and meeting rooms. Quiet and cozy. Cafe on first floor is inviting with tables to work and its open mostly during business hours. Easy to get a library card too.
Leon — Google review
Possibly my favorite place in the city. This is a beautiful, functional piece of architecture that has a great energy and vibe. Whenever I feel off balance, need focus or just want to chill. This place has never let me down. Almost immediately I feel centered and clear. I have spent hundreds of hours inside this library and I am always glad I came. Great location, big, open, airy interior with lots of glass containing areas with several different styles of layouts. Always comfortable and you never feel crowded. All this said though, the powerful positive energy and relaxed, no pressure vibe I always get here is unlikely to come only from the non-living. I believe it is the good people who work at our library that carry the day. I have never walked in without being greeted with a smile and the staff are saints when dealing with the homeless population who live nearby and use the place in a similar fashion as I do. Don't miss the roof! It's a living tapestry of grasses and flowers with picknic tables and a great view.
Tim P — Google review
I absolutely love this library! The Cedar Rapids Public Library is truly outstanding. The building is spotless, modern, and full of amenities that make it much more than just a place to check out books. There’s plenty of seating, from desks to tables, for reading, studying, or using your laptop. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, which is rare for a public space. The staff are what make CRPL special. They’re welcoming, approachable, and make the library feel like one of the most inviting places in Cedar Rapids. On top of that, the library regularly hosts events and programs that really reinvest in the community.
AJ G — Google review
Celebrated my nephew's graduation here and all has changed for the better. Staff is very helpful, engaging and extra friendly.
Shawn H — Google review
Visiting the cedar rapids public library will immediately make you aware of the huge housing/homelessness problem the city has that has only been growing with little help from local government. There are virtually no seats in the library unoccupied by persons experiencing homelessness. Every time I visit, there are police. The library is a defacto day shelter. I'm not critiquing the unhoused. There is obviously no better option for them, and it must be a lot easier to sleep in a quiet, comfortable library than outside getting tresspass tickets, woken up, freezing, and having your few belongings stolen. It's more disappointing that the library HAS to fulfill this purpose in the community because no one else will. People need housing so badly. There needs to be more options. People need to be able to utilize the library as a library, and librarians shouldn't have to be social workers because everyone else would rather ignore these people and the problems they face than take action. The status quo isn't working. In summary, OK library, awesome depressing reminder of how our society functioning is a thin veneer trying to cover up the many left behind that it failed, who must gather there, all day, everyday, because there is literally nothing else better for them here.

Bever Park is a spacious outdoor area with various sports facilities such as tennis and softball courts, an ice rink, and a swimming pool. Additionally, it features a petting zoo where visitors can interact with farm animals by feeding them at a small cost. However, some visitors express concern that the pigs and cows' living quarters are primarily comprised of pebbles rather than dirt or grass.
What a cool park. The Old MacDonald farm area is super cool with kids. Many farm animals and exhibit areas available. It is also very well maintained. Parking was a bit full when we visited and lots if daycare kids on field trips, otherwise plan your visit ahead and it shouldn't be too crowded. It's free so can't complain. I took my toddler to Old MacDonald’s farm here and she was obsessed. We were able to pet all the animals and explore the duck pond. We visited right after a rain storm, so it wasn’t very busy. I would love to go back and explore more of what Bever Park has to offer someday.

Prairie Park Fishery in Cedar Rapids is a sprawling 65-acre outdoor public recreation area that was once a quarry. It's a haven for anglers and nature enthusiasts, offering activities like fishing, ice fishing, boating, hiking, biking, and picnicking. The park features a 1.7-mile paved pathway around the central lake, making it perfect for joggers and cyclists to enjoy the natural beauty.
Great parking and trails, and it looked like there was quite a bit of access for fishing. I was there for wildlife photography, and it offered plenty of opportunities for that as well. There appeared to be a couple different species of turtles, lots of different birds, and while I couldn't find the frogs, I could hear some!

Even though we haven’t been very successful in the fish catching portion of this park, its a beautiful and well kept park with lots of trail to walk around the water. We were able to hook a rainbow last visit so not too bad. My son loves playing in the sand and walking the shoreline.

I love walking on the trail around the lake here. It is so beautiful and peaceful, especially at sunset. It is a clean, safe, and quiet park for walking or riding your bike. There is plenty of parking in the lot. They even have benches around the park and trail to sit by the water. I will be back soon.

Beautiful, calm and sanctuary like lake. Plenty of stocked fish, abundant amount of wildlife including birds, reptiles, fish and more. Peaceful place to paddle or kayak on your own or with friends. Water is clear (deep in certain areas) and calm allowing a kayaker or paddle boarder at any level to enjoy this fishery. Very large can spend hours if you like touring around the water to see what it has to offer. Highly recommend visiting. Plenty of parking and docking areas. Well kept and maintained!

Very nice spot to fish or walk. The loop takes about 30-40 min to walk. Lots of benches to relax, wildlife to watch, and spots to fish.

Spanning an impressive 750 acres, this educational haven features diverse habitats such as wetlands, prairie woodlands, and savanna areas. Visitors can immerse themselves in bird and wildlife viewing or embark on cross-country skiing adventures during winter months.
My best friend and I went for a morel mushroom hunt here this past weekend with the Mushroom Club and had an absolute BLAST. Chuck was such an amazing guide, we learned so so much from all of the wonderful people that we hiked with. My friend and I were more interested in the bugs and wildlife, but we did find quite a few mushrooms! I've always loved coming to Wickiup, since I was a youngster. Whether it's for bird watching, a nice hike, or just a tour of the inside and activities there, it's always been so wonderful. They have a lovely and knowledgeable staff who are always happy to share their wisdom. This is where my love of the outdoors was born and I can never thank them enough. 💚💚💚

We've had the most enjoyable day outdoors at The Wikiup Hill Learning Center, part of the Linn county conservation area, There are Walking trails, a wetlands observation area, an interactive playground area, picnic spots, and more. There are birds in abundance. I imagine that this will be a prime spot to hear the spring peepers in a few weeks. I look forward to attending some programs that the learning center provides. The Linn county conservation newsletter can be found online, which gives details of these events.

I only briefly looked inside, but it looked like a great place to take kids to learn about the area. The trails in the park are awesome and offer a nice variety of ecosystems to explore. The wooded playground area is amazing. I wish it were there when my kids were younger (maybe I'll take grandkids there some day).

We've gone there several times in summer and winter and the kiddos were never bored. Discovered the unique playground on today's visit. Neat zipline apparatus. It looked like there is area to eat a picnic lunch outside. Lots of nice trails to explore. We highly recommend Wickiup Hill!

The History Center, located in a former funeral home known as Turner's, is a local historical society that offers research opportunities by appointment. While some visitors were disappointed with the displays compared to its previous location on 1st Ave, the staff was highly praised for their knowledge and helpfulness. The center provides extensive information on Linn County roots, making it a worthwhile place to explore.
We held our wedding ceremony at the History Center and can't express how beautiful everything was! Jenny communicated everything clearly ahead of the day, supported our planning with her expertise, and made sure the wedding day went smoothly without any issues. We highly recommend the History Center as a venue for your next event! (Photography by Jill Beswick)

The History center is a dual experience of learning about the past and current events of Cedar Rapids, it's businesses and important persons; as well as a closer look at this fine old house which was once upon a time a Funeral home. The exhibits are carefully curated and interestingly displayed. There are interactive learning stations that engage all age groups. Audio and video segments accompany some of the exhibits. A pretty sitting room has been decorated with artifacts from a locally famous hotel. This museum does an excellent job of making the past seem vital to today's city residents. The exhibits feel accessible and not untouchable as in many history venues. Walk up the grand staircase. Imagine life as it was. The staff person or volunteer that was at the front entry was friendly and informative. Giving us helpful guidance regarding directions through the house and reminders of a return visit to see the Grant Wood studio, which is right next door open on Weekend hours only. The admission was free during this month of July 2024, which had been sponsored by a local business. Please pass on my thanks to them for the fun afternoon.

Super cool local brewery and attached restaurant. Can’t go wrong with a place named Black Sheep Social Club. Clock House Tap Room is attached and is a great spot to wait for your table or to enjoy some craft brews and delicious food. Definitely a few steps up from your typical pub fare. All the staff was super friendly and you could tell they aren’t lacking their regulars. Atmosphere was great. Update: Returned 4 years later because we enjoyed this place the first time we were in town. Pretty much same thoughts, nice atmosphere, super friendly staff, but the food quality has definitely gone down. Pub burger was super salty and tasted exactly like a cook from frozen burger you would get at Costco. Couldn’t even eat half of it. Still check them out, but avoid the burger, not worth it for sure.

We tried all 12 beers on tap, all of them were EXCELLENT! The only one my husband nor myself cared for were the classified beers but that's just personal preferences. I am usually not a fan of sours but oh my gosh the sour was so good! And the Southern Bound was just incredible! The waiter was also very nice and kept us in beer which is really all you can ask for.

The Gilded Pear Gallery in Cedar Rapids, IA is a top-notch art institution that boasts an extensive contemporary art collection featuring pieces from over 70 artists. Founded by Suzy McGrane-Hop in 2011, this full-service gallery offers a range of services including selling, appraising, restoring, and framing paintings, jewelry, and sculptures. The gallery showcases a diverse collection with rotating exhibits throughout the year.
I worked with Suzy and her team to design a shadow box to display my martial arts belts. They were great to work with during the design process and came in at a price point that did not break the bank. I had a rough idea of what I was looking for when I came in but they took that idea and completely delivered beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend working with the team at Gilded Pear.

My design team and I regularly work with Gilded Pear. They have a beautiful gallery and very knowledgable staff. We're able to select art for our projects, meet with our clients in the gallery, and have precious art reframed when needed. My favorite project with Gilded Pear was a collaboration to create large scale original art with a favorite artist. With the artist filming her process, Suzy and Lauren fine tuning details, to a laugher filled installation this was a beautiful experience.

The Gilded Pear team was truly wonderful to work with. They are subject matter experts! The best beer in Cedar Rapids. This is only a taproom, so you can bring in or order outside food. Happy hour is incredibly cheap and they also offer crowlers and growlers to go. They usually have 20 beers on tap, have some great staples and rotating brews. The Red Thing is my personal favorite. Also has an outside patio and attracts a lot of cyclists. This is a must visit for fans of craft beer.
Adam N — Google review
If you're looking for high quality beer in a pure beer environment while in Eastern Iowa, this is the place to be. No food served but you can bring your own if you'd like; on occasion food trucks rather vendors show up. No less than 15 house-brewed beers, ciders, and hard seltzer variants on tap, plus a few guest handles. Wide range of styles and alcohol levels to please every pallet. I highly recommend the Oja Baltic Porter and the OreOja (chocolate sandwich cookie notes, but not overpowering). It's named in honor of my late brother but even without that family tie, it is uniquely delicious. You might think I'm being a bit partial but they have grown this business from a few dozen barrels to a full production brewery covering all of Iowa and now parts of Wisconsin.

My first time at Black Sheep, and I was impressed. Great place, so much history. Cool decor. Good variety in the menu. I chose the house salad, NY strip steak, and shared the s'more cheesecake for dessert. The server was very good. Never asked about refilling our beers. Food came out fast and everyone's dinner was great. I will definitely go there again! Oh, and I had the Witch Slap hazy IPA...Great choice!!
Eric E — Google review
My family was eager to visit the Black Sheep Social Club after hearing positive reviews about their culinary offerings. However, our experience did not meet our expectations. Comparing it to my previous experiences at comparable venues, I've had far better quality steaks at a lower price point. I ordered a $65 porterhouse steak, but unfortunately, it was served without the entire filet portion. If I had wanted just the strip cut, I would have opted for the NY Strip at a lower cost. This oversight regarding the cut of meat was disappointing. While the steak initially appeared appetizing, it revealed issues upon closer inspection. There were large portions of fat and gristle that detracted from the overall flavor, necessitating the use of the house steak sauce to enhance the taste. Given the price point, this outcome was quite disappointing. I hope that the establishment considers raising the quality of its offerings, as customers rightfully expect better experiences for their investment.

What a lovely place to eat! Beautiful location and fantastic food! 10 out of 10, highly recommend!! Will be going back!
Dawn C — Google review
I brought my dad here for lunch because dinner is amazing, but today was beyond disappointing. The food is usually really good, but my dad said he will never come back and that it was the worst steak sandwich he’s ever had. The steak sandwich was basically on a hot dog bun, and my falafel burger was on a stale bun. The fries were delicious, but overall, this was a disappointing lunch experience. Before tip, the bill was almost $50 (1 alcoholic beverage on the bill), and that is sort of pricey for the low quality lunch we had. I was really hoping to wow my dad, but he wanted to leave within 10 minutes of receiving the food. The bartender was nice, but there was no conversation at all. The place was not busy, so a little bit of hospitality would have been nice. I’m not sure if the regular chef was off or what, so I’m leaving 3 stars since I know the food was good at some point. (I’ll remove this review if my bill is refunded. The food sucked today- it didn’t even look good but I did not take any photos.)
Jessica A — Google review
Do not recommend, especially if you're not from Iowa. Maybe locals are used to this kind of place, but I was not impressed. The atmosphere was flat, the vibe was off, and the staff seemed more annoyed than welcoming. Our server, Nick, should focus more on developing his personality rather than relying on his looks — both of which were lacking. His attitude was dismissive and uninterested, like he couldn’t be bothered to engage with the table. The food? Undercooked and disappointing. When we tried to return it, we were met with eye rolls and barely any effort to make things right. The servers apology was bullshit and lacked any sincerity. If this is Iowa’s idea of a “social club,” they can keep it. Black Sheep? More like a lost cause. Won’t be back.

I can’t believe someone would give less than 5 stars for this cute full service coffee shop. To start, the outside has such a cool vibe and is in a great location. They have a few outdoor tables for outdoor seating which is great for bringing your dog. Their quiche menu is solid and food is really good for a coffee shop. The inside is cute and welcoming and the staff was all very nice!!! We got an iced white mocha and bohemian and they were perfect.

Very cool authentic coffee spot downtown. Good quality coffee, nice ambiance inside, and good service staff. This place feels like an important part of Cesar Rapids culture.

Nice, relaxed environment. Perfect for working! Both the food and the coffee were very good. Definitely recommend giving this place a try ☺️

Nice and cozy little coffee house, that also serves breakfast, lunch and beer to boot! The food was delicious, the coffee excellent. New favorite coffee spot!
Ryan B — Google review
This is easily the best coffee/cafe here in Iowa. The food is always fresh and amazing. The lattes are consistently great. No burned shots. They make their vanilla and caramel for the lattes IN HOUSE. Don't pass up the vanilla latte! It's run by the sweetest family who are always positive as are their baristas. They'll take the time to explain anything about the menu, you never feel rushed. Please visit this shop and see for yourself. I'm picky and they have always accommodated. They have intolerance options too.

Pro tip: get the homemade salsa. Green if you like mild, red if you like spicier. Both are delicious.

Mexican restaurant
Los Compadres is a warm and welcoming Mexican bar and grill located on 6th Street SW. They offer homestyle cooking with ample lunch specials and tableside guacamole available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The menu features original recipes passed down for generations, crafted from fresh local ingredients. Customers praise the friendly service, clean atmosphere, and generous portions of authentic Mexican fare. The owner takes pride in the building and meets customers personally.
Fantastic Mexican resturaunt, service is exceptional, the food is absolutely perfect with big flavours and plentiful portions, and not to me tion the margaritas are quite nicely heavy handed. And they are known to have top off tequila during your stay as well! I missed the opportunity to have the guacamole made fresh tableside but I do reccomend that because it's always a great time to see! They have a lunch buffet as well with many of the same items you can order on the dinner menu.

He had steak floutitas.. I had cheese enchiladas. Only mistake is avocado when I don't like it. Other than the avocado mistake this place is a place that you bump into by accident. They had a perfect drink and the food was excellent. This is one of those places that look ordinary on the outside. But the food is excellent on inside.. Don't miss out.

My husband and I were in town for an event and decided to have Mexican food for dinner. Although we ordered to go, the staff was friendly and the place was clean. It seemed like a nice atmosphere. We both ordered steak Burritos 🌯 and I had a side order of refried beans 🫘. The size of the burritos 🌯 was grand, and it came with chips and salsa. Everything was delicious and very filling.

I got the lunch buffet, while there were many options, some of the items were not hot. I don't think the buffet line had food warmers. I would just order from the menu next time. The waitress was great though and the food that I had tasted good, particularly the ground beef and the chicken fajitas.

Came here with a 13 co-workers. We all paid our own tab and when we got our checks they added an 18% gratuity from the total of everyone's tickets. So instead of paying $14 for a buffet and drink we all paid over $20 with a $3.85 gratuity charge each. Our server didn't come clean our table in-between nor did she offer any refills. Definitely not deserving of a $50 forced tip.. Then for the ones that asked for change back she tried to pocket the change.

This restaurant was close to our hotel & even though we are from Texas we decided to go ahead & try this place since it has good reviews. A mistake. It was one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have eaten at & neither of us liked our dinner or the salsa. It was all sooooo very bland. We had enchiladas Verdes & Mexicanas which reminded me of some awful casserole my grandmother would make & not yummy. We barely ate our meals cuz it just wasn't good (but our dog loved it) . Maybe if I grew up in Iowa & not South Texas I'd love it, but comparing it to Mexican food I have eaten it was REALLY bad. The portions were very big, restaurant looked nice & service was fine.

Beautiful, clean, and relaxing restaurant with yummy 😋 meals. This used to be a Chinese buffet years ago. The new owners are doing awesome. They even have a lunch buffet, too, that runs from Monday to Friday during lunch hours. My family and I enjoyed every bit of our food and even brought some leftovers home.

Waiter was very friendly! Place is clean and nice atmosphere. The margarita was huge! Not the best that I’ve had. Must use a mix. I’m not a fan of mix in my Rita’s. Just my opinion though. I ordered the enchiladas. They came out very quick. Like three minutes. Makes me wonder how fresh they are. I’m from texas and eat a lot of Mexican food. This place was pretty good for being this far from home.

Latin American restaurant
Caucho Restaurant is a popular local spot known for its unique take on Mexican cuisine. They specialize in rustic-style tacos made with homemade tortillas and offer a full cocktail menu. The featured pork Kofta tacos caught attention with their interesting addition of a quail egg, while the flavorful rice and beans served as a delicious side dish.
Lacayo is one of the few places in Iowa that we truly don’t deserve, are fortunate enough to have. Since the current owners took over, the standard of the hospitality industry in Cedar Rapids has been raised to another level. The experience here feels intentional and crafted to every individual. We try to come here often because every dish we have eaten here have been excellent. The team here carefully sources its ingredients and thoughtfully creates dishes that are delicious and innovative. I’ve tasty apps, soups, main courses and desserts that keep me excited to come back later for more! Their cocktail menu is always changing with new seasonal specials and trusty classics. The kitchen is accommodating to any special requests or allergies. The front of the house staff here are also super nice and will make your experience there enjoyable. Lacayo should be on your shortlist of restaurants in Cedar Rapids to consider on a date night or any random evening.

I’d reviewed this location under previous owners/name. I deleted that review to be able to review this new business. I’m happy to say under new ownership this restaurant is absolutely delicious! Food came out very quickly and was hot and well prepared. We tried several things that were new to us and enjoyed each item. I took a star off because by the time our server had checked on us after our food arrived, it was nearly gone. Obviously we would have flagged someone down if it hadn’t been as expected. Music was loud and made conversation difficult.
Tammy B — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience . I wanted to explore the cuisine of my ancestral roots, and this establishment opened a window for me. Not only that, the staff was attentive to my needs and eager to talk about the offerings on the menu. The vibe here is low-key cool. I ordered the Spanish Gnocchi, and I would have gotten a picture had it not been so good that I couldn't stop eating. Serious comfort food. I got to sample a few of the seafood appetizers and full disclosure, I am not big on seafood, but that had me wanting to come back and try more. Please note that there were three samples on the plate to start with. Even the decor had me wanting to go home and redecorate until I remembered that I have cats. This is travel without the passport and plane, right down to the bottle of water set down in front of me so that I can refill at my leisure. Lacayo is a culinary escape this area needs more of.

Absolutely amazing. I’m a birria fanatic, and the quessabirria tacos here were amazing. House blueberry margaritas, amazing, service, amazing. We’re new to CR, and we’ll absolutely be back. Hint: try the chorizo deviled eggs! 😍😍😍

Will not disappoint! Authentic food with an eclectic atmosphere. Started with drinks which consisted of a Mexican ashtray & mango margarita. Perfect blend of alcohol and flavor. My husband & I had different tacos and we were both very pleased with our choices, the side was rice & black beans which packed so much flavor in a little dish. We finished with an alcohol infused coffee and the flan. The flan had a perfect texture with a smoky flavored caramel sauce. Highly recommend!

Local favorite for a unique twist on tacos & Mexican cuisine. We tried the featured pork Kofta tacos which were very interesting with a quail egg on top and the side of rice & beans are always flavorful. The Elotes were actually one of my favorite appetizers & I couldn’t resist following it up with the Tamarind-Chile Pelotas which were amazing with every bite! Yum! Thank you a call out for the amazing mock tails & alternative drinking options! I appreciate you! The service here & servers are always professional, friendly, & helpful!

Nestled in the heart of downtown Cedar Rapids, Bricks Bar & Grill is a charming two-story beer hall that exudes character and nostalgia. Housed in a century-old building adorned with antiques, this local gem offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a long day. With an impressive rotating selection of 60 craft beers on tap, it’s a haven for beer enthusiasts looking to explore new flavors.
Had an awesome experience at Bricks! Our server was fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. The BBQ Smash Burger was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with great flavor—and the Lady Killer cocktail was just as impressive. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the service here. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

Stopped here for a cold one and some grub. Had a few beers and a decent time. Good music, nice environment. Then the check came. Reference the menu and the check and they subtly gouged a couple extra bucks. Waitress told us fries were $2 extra with our chicken tender purchase. Turns out that’s untrue as well. Then charge us a non cash fee too. I mean come on. Nickel and dimed and lied to. Disappointed. Had a good time, but I’m not stupid. I realize it’s less than $4 but the principle of the matter makes sure I never return and don’t recommend this place. Furthermore, your tip calculation at the bottom should be based off the pretax amount. Even more deceit. Gross.

Super awesome staff! Been here 5 times, different staff member each time and all are the most friendly and fun people making it a very fun atmosphere. Now the food………The in-house smoked wings are the BEST in Cedar Rapids hands down!
Matt M — Google review
Firstly, the wings here are AMAZING. Definitely underrated and the Thursday, all you can eat deals are a really good deal. My only complaint with this place is the volume of the music. It seems a lot louder than most places and makes it really hard to carry on a conversation with people you’re sitting next to as well as the person serving you. Other than that it’s a really cool vibe. Very friendly staff!

I was there a few days ago and I had a sweet cocktail that had pineapple which was so sweet and not strong and I loved it. I also had the beef tacos which were also really good and the staff here were very polite. Will be on my list of favorites here in Cedar Rapids.

Farmers Markets
The Cedar Rapids Farmer's Market in the Midwest is highly regarded for its exceptional selection of local vendors offering a wide range of produce, food, wine, and merchandise. With recent improvements in downtown road construction, the market now operates with great efficiency. It is well-organized and features a diverse array of vendors specializing in various categories such as food, pet supplies, and home goods. Additionally, the market welcomes dogs and ensures that all attendees have well-behaved pets under control.
Lots of great vendors! Food, homemade jewelry, dog treats, baked goods and so much more!! Our favorite was the cold press juice! A great way to spend the morning with family. Lots of variety! Very impressive!

This is a really fun thing that cedar Rapids puts together, and I think a good indication of why it's a great City. I enjoyed the food, the music, and the people watching. Parking was actually surprisingly reasonable for such a large event in a downtown area. My one complaint is that the shops got to be a little bit repetitive. it would be great to see some more variety, but it just might be that these are the only sorts of businesses that do well in a farmer's market environment, who knows.

Morgan Creek Park is a vast county park spanning 230 acres. It offers a variety of amenities, including a family campground with powered and watered campsites. The park also boasts an arboretum, butterfly garden, and an extensive trail system. Visitors can indulge in the beauty of numerous splendid trees at the arboretum, although most were not yet in bloom or bearing fruit. The park is teeming with diverse wildlife such as birds and insects, both exquisite and less appealing.
Amazing. The park was absolutely packed with a variety of culture. Everyone played well together, the play equipment was original and unlike any other my kids had ever expiriended. two thumbs up.

We went to the park while traveling for baseball. My two youngest children absolutely loved it. There were a lot of different unique parts of the park, that we had never seen anywhere else before. Nice walking trails, pretty creek, great playground and picnic areas. Update - the park has been redone and is gorgeous. Paved walking trails, abundant green space, different beautiful areas so people aren't crowding one another.

Very nice place with a fun playground. They have a cool metal slide but I couldn't slide down it as there was a lot of friction between my shorts and the metal. Just your normal every day cloth shorts. Same with my daughter. But the playground is very fun and there are nice walking trails.
Joneric W — Google review
My son calls this place “the green ballpark” — and it’s hands-down his favorite place to go. He’s only six years old, but he absolutely loves the playground and never gets tired of walking the trails. We’ve been coming here for the past three years, and every single time, he’s full of energy and ready to explore. One of his favorite adventures is hiking to what he calls “Green Ball Beach” — a little sandy spot by the creek off one of the walking trails. The walk is at least half a mile, and he happily does it every time, usually before and after spending time on the playground. There’s also a non-enclosed off-leash area for dogs, a great campground, and a peaceful memorial tree area. In our opinion, this is the best park in the state of Iowa.
Joshua G — Google review
We love Morgan Creek Park. Even though we usually have to drive clear across town to go there. They have a newly developed playground where kids of all ages can have fun and burn some energy. The restrooms are usually really clean considering they have a decent size crowd. Plenty of room for walking around.

Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) is a regional airport offering domestic flights across the Midwest and Southeast. Despite its small size, visitors find it surprisingly cozy with great service. Situated amidst cornfields, the well-maintained airport provides a pleasant experience for travelers. The modern terminal features an easy security checkpoint, decent concession options post-security, and ample seating in gate areas. Additionally, the airport staff has been praised for their helpful and friendly service, making arrivals and departures smooth for passengers.
Eastern Iowa airport is a small local airport with access to all the major hubs. Just this week they opened a large addition with 4 more huge gates. It is beautiful and comfortable, with convenient workspaces, plenty of power outlets, and fancy new chairs! The new addition features stone walls and wooden accents. There is also a full bar. WiFi is available. The airline check in counters generally move smoothly, and there is nearly never a wait for TSA Pre-check passengers.

Kevin ( — Google review
This is our new favorite airport! It's small enough to be able to find everything easily and get in and out quickly, but large enough to have convenient flights to our preferred destinations (or to connecting airports that work well for us, like Denver and Chicago.) Additionally, the rental car lot is right there and getting in and out is easy because there are no gates or codes required. And they have excellent conference room space for rent at a very reasonable $25 per hour (although we went over a little bit and because they weren't busy, they didn't charge us any extra.) This was a godsend because we needed to be on a Zoom call within 30 minutes of landing and don't want to risk driving into CR to a business center. We called as we got onto our flight at O'Hare and they told us rooms were available and to contact them upon our arrival, which we did. They made this super easy and took all the stress out of the situation. We visit this area regularly and look forward to using Cedar Rapids as our primary airport.
Avant P — Google review
Cedar Rapids Airport (CID) — Do Better If you’re going to schedule 5:00 AM flights, maybe open your TSA checkpoint before 4:00. Passengers are boarding at 4:30 and can’t even get through security in time, let alone grab a coffee or a bottle of water—since all concessions are still closed and vending machines are either out of order or nonexistent. This morning, the only place open had a line of 16 people just trying to get a drink or snack. I walked down to the brand new wing—nothing. No vending machines, no open concession stand. Just a nice-looking space with zero functionality. And don’t even get me started on TSA. I travel every single week. I know the drill. But this morning’s experience was next-level miserable. As I’m trying to unload six separate items thanks to TSA’s own “strip everything” rules, I’m being barked at like I’ve never flown before. No items over the laptop. Shoes on the belt, not in a bin. Everything was a command—rushed, rude, and condescending. I only have two hands. Chill out. It’s 4:00 AM—not a time for arrogance or aggression. I even mentioned it to another agent afterward, and she silently nodded like, “Yeah, that guy’s always like that.” That’s the problem. This isn’t a one-off. It’s the norm. We’re not livestock. We’re paying customers. If CID wants to be treated like a real airport, it needs to act like one—starting with basic hospitality, early access to essentials, and TSA agents who know the difference between enforcing rules and humiliating people.
Travis W — Google review
Dependably quick and smooth flow through curbside drop off, baggage drop, and security screening with friendly service throughout. Terminal has been undergoing substantial remodeling (2025) with very appealing results. Kudos on the upgrades and ambience. (!) Plenty of seating, wonderful skylight, and charge ports/outlets. Overall a nicely updated and classy appearance. Can't wait to see the rest when it's done. Excellent regional airport.

We cannot get enough of this place! It all started a couple years ago when we decided to try Spongebob Squarepants the Musical for our child's birthday gift. I love musicals, but had no idea if the rest of the family would. I took my husband, son, my mom, and my niece along. We had such a blast getting the specialty crafted drink in a Spongebob cup, plus snacks, plus a show - that we've been regulars ever since. We try to go to 2 - 3 shows per year. The kids know that every Christmas they are getting a musical or two as an experience gift! We even have our favorite show time and favorite seats. The performances are always spectacular! School House Rock had the kids bouncing in their seats and clapping like crazy! The Waitress, Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast - fabulous! We can't wait until July to see Little Shop of Horrors! The staff (probably volunteers) are always helpful and kind.

Such a great little book shop. The owner is so kind, and the shop is gorgeous and well-stocked considering the size. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

I don’t think I have ever had a better experience in the bookstore before. Or any store. Or anywhere. The owner was very sweet. And the store was just perfect. Oh, and I am so sad I missed the cat!!! (I believe his name is Frank). I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for making my day better.

This bookstore was so cute and the clerk was really nice and pleasant. It was raining and they encouraged us to stay as long as we wanted due to the weather. It was really sweet. The clerk was knowledgeable as well. For a small space, they had a wide selection. I will say that I don’t think this space is wheelchair accessible (the aisles are tight).

Cutest bookstore! The shop owner was very friendly and there was a good selection of books!

Ironic that there is a kids’ section in this store, as my kids and I were treated with irritation and suspicion while we browsed. Nothing like being watched like a hawk and everything they touched being immediately inspected and straightened as if children reading is an inherently hostile act. Wish I could say nicer things about a local book store.

Discovered this establishment from a sign on the interstate. Stopped in for lunch. The establishment was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great. We recommend stopping by when you are in the area. We will definitely return when we are in town.

Cedar Rapids — Valentine’s weekend, nice setting, good service, great presentation, tasty. Upscale restaurant, smaller setting(but have additional options for seating). I saw a couple tables that got sandwiches they looked great. It a nice option for date night

This was a great stop on a 1,000 mile road trip. Easy to get to off the interstate and only option we could find find that wasn’t either fast food or fried bar food, but with fresh, classic options. Clean, a bit upscale on atmosphere but we felt fine there being casually dressed. Service was great and food delicious! If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be back!

Two of us had to send our fillet back we ordered medium rare and they were very well done. They did take care of it. The mashed potatoes were cold. Vegetables were good. The steak texture was off, even though it was done properly the second time. The desserts Were not what was expected. For the price, it definitely was not worth it.

Our server Kale was excellent. Very thorough and attentive. We each tried something different. I had the Cobb salad with Chicken. It had unique corn bread crouton, cranberries, diced sweet potatoes, yummy fresh crumbles bacon bits. The sweet potato were the only part of my meal I was not a fan of. We all tried the salmon Cajun soup. It was good the salmon melted in your mouth. The Class Act burger my son said was easily the best burger he has had. My son's girlfriend had the Iowa omelet and she said it was yummy. My husband had the corn beef hash he said it was a great from scratch hash.

Having a great restaurant at a hotel is such a luxury! We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast - both were fabulous. The staff was professional and attentive! The manager even taught my son how to make a rose out of his napkin. :) Highly recommend.
Sarah F — Google review
I came in there this past Friday for lunch I got the beef prosciutto or whatever and that thing was nasty over salted in my opinion! Sweet potatoes doesn’t mix will with the skirt stake and slimy sauce they used. But I will say the chicken sandwich was juicy but way too small to be considered a full meal. The corn soup was underwhelming but the serve was really nice and did a great job serving me in a timely manner. I paid $36 as a single male. For me brining a family here and spending over $100 is just not worth it for lunch.

This restaurant is located in The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, and is a Culinary Arts Program. Elegant decor. Great service and food at a slightly higher price point than a chain, but the students are learning (and we get to eat the rewards of their education). The sticky pork belly was perfectly balanced between sweet, sour, and savory. The special of the day (ribeye) was perfectly cooked, the pork chop, duck, and steak fries were excellent. Will come back when back in town!

McGrath Amphitheatre is a popular outdoor venue located on the west bank of the Cedar River in Downtown Cedar Rapids. It can accommodate up to 6,000 people and hosts a variety of events, from community-led gatherings to large music concerts. The amphitheater offers picturesque views and is within walking distance of downtown attractions. Visitors have praised the venue for its well-managed facilities, including food trucks, drink lines, and seating arrangements during live performances.
Great smaller outdoor venue. Well maintained, security was polite but effective in keeping folks from blocking aisles, plenty of open space, & good restroom facilities for an outdoor venue. Beautiful area by the river, plenty of places to eat nearby. Parking is on the street, but it's free. Overall good experience!
S D — Google review
Went to seether first time at this venue. Great layout, nice bathrooms, and seating was nice. Parking may be an issue we did get in the ten dollars to park lot 2 blocks away.
Chad G — Google review
The outdoor experience and the music was fantastic. The restrooms smelled so bad, everyone was commenting how bad it smelled. There were plenty of drink options. If you wanted food at the food court, options were very limited. We parked on 3rd Ave past the bridge by the Paramount theater. On exiting, we walked there and took 8th st exit to I-380. Super easy exit, no traffic! We would go again, especially for the entertainment, not the restrooms.
Kelby S — Google review
+ POSITIVES: clean, spacious, helpful staff, quality drink concessions, proper bathrooms - NEGATIVES: poorly labeled seats, third party ticket purchase cite I was super impressed by the amphitheater. It was our first time and we will be returning for sure! High quality facilities, cold drinks, and great seating. The staff through the entire venue was great. Everything moved smoothly and efficiently with their help. There was plenty of room for everyone, even with a full show, so you were never jammed into a tight line or waiting forever at concessions. The drinks were super cold even on the 100 degree day. (Of course expect to pay show concession prices, but at least they weren't lukewarm.) Luckily the venue was shaded for most of the late summer show. The seats were clean and spaced enough to actually enjoy your experience with leg room to spare. The seats weren't labeled very well, but I'll take the extra bit of room for a tiny bit of inconvenience in finding my seat. The bathroom building was way better than most shows I've been to where you have to use porta-potties. Even during the intermission between bands the line moved quickly since they had so many stalls. In order to get tickets to the show, you had to pay a significant processing fee in a different website. I would have gladly driven to an office to purchase tickets in person or ordered them on a website directly from the venue, but that was not an option. I would love to see that middle man cut out for our next show. Over all it was a wonderful experience and I won't hesitate in going again.
Erin — Google review
Really neat venue on the river downtown in Cedar Rapids. Great viewing from most of the venue, and sound is great including up front without being muddled. They have real bathrooms which is nice. There are not enough concessions/drink stands and they are a bit unorganized. I would definitely return to a show here.

First time.. Stumbled in on a meander... looking forward to an event someday. Lovely riverfront amphitheater
Michele H — Google review
Nice venue but the sound was pretty disappointing. We were in the chairs on one of the sides and we could barely hear the opening band and the mix was not very good in our area. We walked to the back center and the sound was much better there. For what we paid for tickets, sound should have been good everywhere. If you get tickets here, make sure you get them in the center section.

Shopping
Lindale Mall is a regional shopping destination situated in Cedar Rapids. It offers a diverse range of shopping choices, including numerous chain restaurants, a food court with various dining options, and family-friendly activities. The mall is enclosed and houses over 100 stores and restaurants where visitors can find the latest fashion trends, jewelry, clothing, specialty gifts, and shoes. Additionally, the 500-seat food court provides convenient quick meal options for shoppers.
Lindale Mall is a nice place to spend an afternoon. It has a good mix of stores, a food court to grab a quick bite, and a play area that is great for kids. Some areas could use a refresh, but overall it is clean, comfortable, and convenient for shopping or just walking around.
Adam S — Google review
I didn’t count the stores, but I feel like there’s more store fronts empty than occupied. And many of the occupied ones look like they are temporary. Nice large indoor space for walking, which I saw several people doing. While this mall is definitely dated and struggling, it’s nice to have a space where you can stretch your legs and get some food. There are no fewer than 8 Coke machines in the mall. Small, free play space. Be advised that there’s a Youth Escort Policy. Kids under 16 can’t wander the mall on their own.
Tammy B — Google review
I hosted a Made in Iowa event in the old Younkers building. We had 153 vendors. The mall staff was amazing! The men's bathroom is a trek away. The space did get a bit warm . But over all we were pleasantly pleased with our experience working with mall staff.
Cynthia F — Google review
I actually left this mall feeling depressed. My wife put it perfectly: this mall is where dreams go to die. The entire place looks like it hasn't advanced at all since the 1980s: tired storefronts, passe gimicks like massage chairs and bubble-gum-machine congolmerates. Many of the spaces were empty, and most people wandering aimlessly through the uninspired building looked bored, and certainly didn't look like they were there to spend money. It was just depressing. That said, others who have reviewed the mall seemed to like it, so perhaps it's just a matter of personal taste.
Frecky L — Google review
Place really needs to get more retail stores in here. Both ends have huge areas for anchor stores. Food court has extremely limited options. Mall is clean and spacious, lots of older folks use the inside for walking laps. Parking lot surrounding the area is nice.
Ed P — Google review
I was there and do you want to know what I saw? Inappropriate mugs and stuff that were in the shape of private parts😡 (hot topic-more like inappropriate topics) It mad me cry to see these little children going to a public place and seeing goofy ahh stuff such as this. 10/10 will be going back near the outside of the building because it is better than the inside. You just lost a non-loyal customer. Human resources will be hearing about your scandal. Cops will be called many- AND I MEAN MANY TIMES- to rid the building of this public display of nudity for the little children of the state of Iowa and coming. They don't want to see this unless they are 18 and from what I know, 18 is ADULTS. I slipped on the floor and creased my 10 Js I got from my good friend Michael Jackson. He will also be hearing about thsi. Would recommend good store. The basement is haunted with the hot topic stuff though so don't go down there 😵‍💫

Very large building available for rent. I have participated in several Made in Iowa events at this location, and it's been wonderful! Plenty of parking, room for 140+ vendors indoors, a full racetrack, concession areas. Slightly outdated, but could be improved with some paint and new lighting!

This is definitely a go if you know type of place. It’s a specific genre of fun. If you like loud disorganized short lived fun with not much to do in between then it’s for you. Don’t want to complain about food as I didn’t purchase my own. But maybe invest in a microwave!?!?! Air temp cheeseburgers don’t really get the job done. The ONLY reason I’ll give 2 stars was the sweet old lady at the mercy stand and some of the faculty staff. They were extremely nice and friendly.

Great for some weekend fun. Might get a bit too loud at times, carry ear plugs.

I took my brother to the Dinosaur Adventure event here last weekend. Overall, the building itself was clean and spacious. There was plenty of room for several large stations and bouncy houses. The bathrooms were very clean and large. There are plenty of parking spaces when you arrive. The event itself was not fantastic for what you pay for it. I'm sure it's not at the fault of Hawkeye Down. Covid safety concerns: it seemed the place was a bit over-packed. Nearly no one wore a mask as masks are not required. It was listed on the Dinosaur Adventure website that there were covid concerns to be aware of before attending the event.

It's a good place to get in and get out. Some malls are just too big, too crowded & congested. This has what you need, without the crazy parking situation. I think the stores also have a smaller feel to them, so they are more intimate. The game was exciting, going into overtime and ending with a shootout in the fourth period. Finding the location was easy, although there were some difficulties for individuals with limited mobility. However, the accommodating staff allowed them to use an elevator to access their regular seating.
Surprisingly, this was my first hockey game, and I wished that I was talked into going a long time ago 😆 really enjoyed the game! Tickets were reasonably priced. I would encourage eating beforehand, especially if this is a family event, because it can add up fast. The same goes for the $8 beers, which many people may expect. The ICCR, a mosque located in Cedar Rapids, has made a positive impact on the lives of many Muslims. With its welcoming atmosphere and clean environment, it serves as both a place of worship and a community gathering spot. Unlike some Christian-owned TV channels that portray negative stereotypes about Muslims, the ICCR promotes peace and understanding. It offers prayers not only on Fridays but also hosts other prayer sessions to accommodate the needs of its diverse community.
I went here since 1999 around when I moved to Cedar Rapids. I’m grateful for the experiences this mosque has given me in my life. It’s a very diverse, open and supportive community. Anyone is welcomed into this mosque from all backgrounds if they want to see how Islam and Muslims are first hand. Spring dinners have been served to the open public for many years which is great community and cultural experience. This is a very special place and I hope it continues to give and receive the love and energy it deserves and the community needs.

Beautiful masjid. A wonderful and welcoming community. The first masjid i went to at this location was amazing. A little girl was climbing up to see the Iman. Rather than getting upset, he welcomed her as he continued. Subhanallah" (سبحان الله) it was very welcoming. Afterwards, they're announced a family movie night. As a solo father of 2 daughters; family oriented good people were all I met there and look forward to becoming an active member in the local Muslim community here in iowa as myself and my 2 daughters just moved here from Oregon. We were very active in our previous masjid with zaget and volunteering for community events. With Ramadan coming next week... ramadan kareem (رمضان كريم)

This congregation was formed about a hundred years ago by immigrants to the area. Today, their descendants carry on the proud traditions of their forefathers. People of all ages attend the services and programs here. Having lived in many places and attended many mosques, I can say that i have seen places that catered more to a certain nationality or group. I have never felt like an outsider here. This comfortable place is a center for families and individuals alike, from all walks of life. I think it's unusual in America to find a mosque whose members have been here for many generations, and have deep roots in the community. This is reflected in the warmth and friendliness of the welcome you get when you visit. You should stop by! You will probably run into someone you know!

The Tait Cummins Sports Complex is a fantastic facility for baseball, loved by both kids and parents. The play-park is enclosed with nets, ensuring the safety of children. The fields are well-maintained and easy to locate, with adequate parking available nearby. The concession stands offer a variety of reasonably priced food options. While there are some shaded roof areas, more shade in the form of trees, shade sails or canopies would be beneficial.
Nice softball complex. Played there for the first time yesterday. Ample bleacher seating for friends and family and each of the dugouts has a roof to shelter from the elements. Fences and gates are high quality and durable. My only suggestion would be to add signage facing the parking lot to show directions to the fields. Something like: < Field 4 Field 3 > Fields 1-2 ^ The only signage I saw identifying field numbers 1-4 is attached to the fence behind home plate facing the spectators toward the middle of the complex and away from the parking lot.

Was here for the first time recently for a 5-game guaranteed baseball tourney. Nice, clean complex. Ample parking. Decent bathrooms & great concessions. Close to home, too!

I play slow pitch softball here regularly and Tait Cummins is one of the best complexes in the area. The fields are well-kept, lights are solid for night games, and the layout makes it easy to navigate between games. Dugouts are clean and shaded, and there’s plenty of parking close by. Only downside is I wish there were more shaded areas for fans during hot days—but overall, it’s a great place to play. Whether it’s league night or a tournament, you can tell the facility is maintained with players in mind. Highly recommend for any level of ball.

Nice baseball complex! Kids loved the netted play-park and we as parents loved that it was netted! Fields were nicely maintained while we were there. Complex was easy to find, Parking was adequate, Concessions offered variety and were reasonable. Liked the little shaded roof areas but there needs to be more shade...trees, shade sails, canopy areas. Maybe add some more foul nets overhead too.Trains were very loud and very fast for the area.

Field conditions are great! Not a 5 star park because this is a 4plex and the crowd is inundated by foul balls constantly from all directions. Power plant across the street is noisy and loud freight trains go by about every 30-45 minutes. Parking lot is not big enough for 4 diamonds.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Between our 2 coaches we have over 80+ years of baseball experience. We've never seen such horrible fields. You can visibly see the peaks and valleys in the outfield. All the outfielders are tripping over little hills whilst tracking flyballs. Kids twisting their ankles warming up due to all the holes. All the ball clubs are in agreement- most important tournament for these kids, but the worst field they've ever played on! Good job USSSA!

Large ball complex, easy to get around. Parking didn't seem sufficient for a tournament and snack bar wasn't well stocked. However, that could have been due to a change of venue.

No clue how this place has four stars! The place was one of the worst complexes. The fields are horrible, extremely loud, and pumping out nasty-smelling stuff just 100+ yards away.

Stadium
Kingston Stadium is a delightful venue that offers an enjoyable experience for visitors, whether attending high school football games or marching band competitions. The stadium boasts a clean and well-organized layout, making it easy to navigate. Attendees have praised the friendly volunteers who enhance the overall atmosphere with their welcoming demeanor. While the concessions could use some improvement—particularly regarding hot cocoa—the tasty snacks available still add to the enjoyment of events held here.
Nice high school football stadium. Visited for a marching band competition, and volunteers were very nice and made experience that much more pleasant. Had a great time and can't wait for next year. The stadium was clean and nicely laid out

Great people great environment. Unfortunately the crab mushroom were not so great idk if it was an off night but very fishy tasting. Other than take just a little on the loud side but not a deal breaker

Beautiful stadium. Concessions need better hot cocoa. Very watery. That's my only complaint, which total first world problem! Ha! Seriously stay away from the hot cocoa though!! Great stadium, good experience, big win by the away team.

The announcer kept calling us worshington and it made me feel offended because I’m offended by people who can’t read
Lala — Google review
Nice stadium. Was there for band competition. Parking was good. Just wish they had a ticket gate at the other end of the bleachers for the event. I'm sure they were struggling to get people to help that day also.

We have a great experience because we are always there to chear on a Washington Warrior. Bathrooms are clean. Consessions are tasty. I do wish there were hand railings on the stairs as my balance is terrible.
Candy S — Google review
Good seating and view, BUT the stadium floors were filthy and very sticky, all adding to the displeasure of its unsanitary offering. Hundreds of families sat and stood there trying to enjoy and encourage there children and there performances
Red O — Google review
Nice facility. Impressive consession stand. Good variety of products, "No pop corn"? Help was very friendly. Had several guys from law inforcement present on our visitors side of the stadium the whole game.
