Nature & Parks
Commonwealth Reserve, located in the heart of historic Williamstown, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The elegant park offers formal avenues of elms and provides stunning views across the yacht masts to Melbourne. Visitors can enjoy leisurely activities such as possum watching, boat trips from Gem Pier, or exploring nearby attractions like HMS Castlemaine and Point Gellibrand. The reserve also features a playground, tennis courts, and a rotunda that hosts various events including music performances.
A beautiful old park. The Commonwealth Reserve in Melbourne is located in Williamstown, a historic suburb southwest of the city. It is a beautiful park that overlooks Hobsons Bay and the city skyline, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The reserve features well-maintained lawns, large trees, picnic tables, and seating areas. It’s known for its historical significance, with a number of war memorials, including the Williamstown Cenotaph. Nearby, you can explore the Williamstown waterfront with cafes, restaurants, and the Gem Pier, where you can catch views of the bay and moored boats. The area is great for leisurely strolls, picnics, and enjoying the serene coastal atmosphere. .:.Chat.G.P.T.:.

Super friendly space 😺 Small park , small theatre 🎭 Lots of coffee options 😀 Amazing views in night Paid parking

An amazing old park with a lot of history. Right on the bay of Williamstown amongst the boats and ships and yachts, it’s a must visit when in “Willy”. Spacious, green and lots of shades from the large trees. Thankfully someone had the foresight to think ahead because they are truly unique. Don’t forget to check out all The historical sites within the park and read about the history and settlement of the area. I wonder how it looked before it was settled? I’ve seen many weddings, parties and celebrations held in the park. There are bins and seats but suggest you take home your rubbish and byo chair. When wet, it can get a bit soggy underfoot but don’t let that deter you. Toilets available. Playground available take. Parking can be tricky so suggest you read the signs carefully. Dog friendly.
Debi S — Google review
Really pleasant reserve on a good day. Boats in the background, trees grass and walking space to stroll and some great food options around it. Beautiful view of Melbourne from over the bay on a clean clear day.
Matthew G — Google review
Beautiful gardens for a walk, picnic or just plain photography. Lots of greenery, with water views and a permanent ship museum for your backdrop. There's an abundance of restaurants on the road stretch to sit and enjoy these views. Very relaxed, gone for a holiday kind of feel here. The heritage buildings on the roadsides also make for an interesting exploration. Most parking meters now can be paid using the EASYPARK app - pay only for how much you use, much better than prepaid!
Sventek — Google review
Great place for families, kids, and group BBQs, especially during sunny beautiful days like today. The breeze coming from the water, the beautiful sunshine, the relaxed and happy atmosphere is just perfect. The kids also have a lot of fun on the playground, watching the ships from the pier, and there's enough grass to play soccer/footy while parents and grandparents picnic. There are tennis courts if you wanna have a game and heaps of great restaurants to choose from the main strip also. Just an overall family-friendly environment - would definitely recommend for a lazy weekend.
Justeen W — Google review
Nice place to take motorbike on sunny day. Stop at "off the pier " for some fish and chips. Great people very friendly, and polite
Carl S — Google review
Fantastic park in the middle of Williamstown CBD situated right against the water and Gem Pier. Great way to spend that day walking around and looking at the historical sight and also the retail shops nearby. Council had done a good job of keeping park clean and tidy, allowing picnics or taking in the sun. Public toilets and children's playground.

Newport Lakes Reserve is a peaceful parkland located in the western suburbs that offers tranquil walking tracks, abundant bird life, and serene lakes. The park also features children's play equipment, gazebos for picnics, free barbeque facilities, and ample parking. It provides visitors with a country-like feel and a chance to escape from the city hustle. Additionally, the reserve boasts an awesome lake that can be reached by train or taxi from the CBD.
Beautiful place to visit. Quite unexpected and so serene. Birds are gorgeous 😍

Lovely park in the middle of a busy city. Its not very big but it feels you are in the middle of the bush. Nice for a walk. Cannot take dogs. Playground nearby. Toilets are unisex and lots of male workers in the area utilise them, so I chose not to use them..
Victoria — Google review
A beautiful little nature spot in the heart of suburbia. The bird life here is plentiful and the views of the lake are glorious. Perfect for a family stroll or a dog walk
Stephen A — Google review
Lovely place to visit to just kick back and relax. Very calming and learning to be surrounded by nature.
Kaliq N — Google review
Beautiful to visit & get into nature. Makes you feel like you’ve escaped the city without actually having done so. Car park onsite. To the left of the car park are restrooms & if you take a walk further up there’s a playground & you can walk your dogs on lead. To the right of the car park - the actual Newport Lake reserve, you cannot bring your dogs in for a walk. It is prohibited. There’s a great stepping stone path that crosses over the water. It is safe. My octogenarian mother with a walking stick was able to do it. There’s flat grass areas where groups have picnics.
Bella B — Google review
Unreservedly five stars. There is a public toilet, BBQ area, playground, a reasonable amount of parking, an off leash area in Pavey Park next door (no dogs on the trails around the water I'm afraid) and some lovely walking trails around the lake. If you are walking around, take care if crossing the lake on the rock-bridge but I saw people (including me) crossing it just fine. If walking, do both the circuit closer to the lake and the one higher up. Some nice views. And watch out for the rock-art.
Anita H — Google review
Still one of my favourite nature places in the inner west of Melbourne! It's great for walking, for kids to interact and see local birds, fish and animals. Apart from the planes overhead, you get a very distinct separation from city life! You can really lose yourself here... Great in every season!
Kara R — Google review
Beautiful place to be. Wonderful atmosphere and wildlife. Would recommend for a serene and calm environment for walks. Bikes not allowed so would not recommend riding here. Stone bridge is incredibly calming and enjoyable. Beautiful mosaics found all over the shop which as an art enjoyer were incredible to see.

Jawbone Flora and Fauna Reserve in Williamstown is a haven for nature enthusiasts, especially bird watchers. The wetlands are intersected by the Bay Trail, offering a picturesque setting for walking and cycling. With open lawns, playgrounds, and diverse ecosystems including open grasslands, saltmarshes, and mangrove conservation areas, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Very nice walking path, quite romantic and charming. There is plenty of car parking nearby. If coming with the family, I would recommend spending a few hours here, then go to the nearby beach or parks for a BBQ and playgrounds.
Hayden — Google review
A very beautiful and large area of wetlands. There are many swans, seagulls and birds. There aquatic creatures are cute, too. Don’t feed them, otherwise the water will be polluted. Clean and clear water is the valuable resource. Be careful of the snakes. They are more afraid of you. A good beach for swimming, walking the dogs, jogging, sun tanning and snorkeling.
John L — Google review
I’m living in the West for more than 25 years but why I didn’t know this place until today!! It’s perfect place for all age, family and for all purpose include walking, bike riding, birds watching, snorkelling, swimming, picnic and more. This place is well maintained but unfortunately Some people cut the wire fence and try to get into the protective area where we should respect the wildlife habitats area. It’s very sad to see some damage by careless people.
Masako P — Google review
It’s super Van Friendly, with my partner we spend the night here with no issue, It was on low season tho, so no idea if during summer is the same. There is a parking fee during the day. Nature wise was lovely!!
Magdalena B — Google review
It's a lovely place to go for a stroll and enjoy the views of the wetlands. There's a bay trail for cyclists and walkers and multiple benches around. There's also a playground for the kids and lots of native plantings. It's certainly worth a visit!
Alexandros K — Google review
Very lovely open space at the edge of Williamstown, with untouched coastal vegetation and lots of birdwatching opportunities.

What a great place for the local residents who can come out with families for daily walk, relax, have sea breeze, watch Swans and other wildlife.

Nestled along the southern shores of Williamstown, Hatt Reserve is a serene escape from the bustling crowds often found at Gem Pier. This picturesque reserve boasts expansive parks, tranquil wetlands, and sandy beaches perfect for a day of relaxation or adventure. With electric barbecues available on-site, it’s an ideal spot for picnics and gatherings with friends and family.
Lovely reserve that is divided into two sections - dogs on leash and dogs off leash. Otherwise it’s a great open area for picnics, gatherings, play some sport or just sit and watch the bay. The botanic gardens are nearby and worth a visit as well.
Debi S — Google review
There are paid and free parking spaces along the street. You can swim and fish if you like just pick a good spot. The beach is easily accessible. If you prefer walking or running, the path is approximately 2 km but you can go all the way down towards Newport if you like. Just bring a bottled water just in case...
Kaloi — Google review
Beautiful for jogging, walking, playing with your dog, just relaxing on the grass or looking out to sea on the rocks. Great walking track, visit frequently. There's a nice section along the walking track to see black swans and sea birds.

Truganina Park is a spacious green area perfect for picnics, dog walking, and cycling. It's famous for the 100 Steps to Federation, a stone staircase leading to panoramic views of Melbourne City, Port Phillip Bay, and Cheetham Wetlands. The park's well-maintained open spaces provide a peaceful retreat from city life. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks or relax while taking in the impressive skyline views.
Definitely a worthy walking destination. Parking, toilets, trails in many directions, lovely views and a couple of interesting sections like the 100 Steps of Federation. Access to the foreshore is limited, but if you walk far enough along the Bay Trail, you can get there too.
Anita H — Google review
This nice park has plenty of parking spaces, picnic tables and bbq. The scenery is spectacular, especially on the top of the hill. You can see a glimpse of city buildings and wetlands. Not many trees around so it will be quite hot during summer days. Some area looks new, plenty of new baby trees. It would be nice if there’s a sign along the walking path.
Shieny M — Google review
Beautiful view across the water, u can see the city building from the view at the top of the 100 steps. Good place for some fitness or just a walk in the fresh air.
Christopher K — Google review
Truganina Park is a wonderful spot that offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The park is well-maintained and features plenty of open space, making it a nice park for leisurely walks, picnics, or simply relaxing. One of the standout features of Truganina Park is the fantastic views of the skyline. Whether you're looking for a beautiful backdrop for photos or just want to enjoy the scenery, the views are truly impressive. The park is especially great for sunrise and sunset. The sky lights up with stunning colors, providing a perfect setting for those early morning or late evening moments. The overall atmosphere of the park is very calming and serene. It's a peaceful place where you can unwind and enjoy nature. The well-paved paths and various lookout points add to the experience, making it easy to explore and appreciate the surroundings. In summary, Truganina Park is a lovely place to visit. With its nice views, peaceful ambiance, and beautiful sunrise and sunset scenes, it's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy some quality time outdoors. Highly recommended for a relaxing day out.
Pranav M — Google review
So many attractions in this park, the 100 steps of federation, 360 area view, CBD view are the main attractions. From this park you can also go to Foreshore trail, laverton creek and skeleton creek. Great place for fitness lovers for hiking and running, and trail walks. The gate opens at 8 am and closes at 7 pm.
Jawad A — Google review
An interesting park with an off leash dog area. Huge open space with some interest ornaments and sculptures in the park. Pleasant views of the city skyline in the distance and there's plenty of nature and wildlife around the park. The wetlands area can be seen from the hill too. Definitely worth taking the dogs here for a walk.
Kerbray — Google review
There are a number of parks in this area but I’m talking today about Truganina Park. As you enter there is a netball / basketball park , heaps and heaps of parking, entrance to Cheetham Park, the skate park and more. Great views to the bay if you walk up the small mound. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Great for riding bikes or walking. Good place for picnics with the tables and shelter with toilets nearby but it can be windy. It can be a little confusing with parks blending with other reserves and facilities so be careful. Watch out for snakes in summer months.
Debi S — Google review

Tumbles Playhouse is a vibrant indoor playground featuring a three-story play structure with various exciting elements like tunnels, slides, a Burmese bridge, ball pit, and inflatable castles. There's also a dedicated area for younger children to ensure safe and enjoyable play. Visitors have praised the venue for hosting private parties, providing delicious food options for adults, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility.
Today we had my daughter’s first birthday celebration at Tumbles. We had a large number of guests- 24 kids and 30 adults. It was WONDERFUL! Everything went smoothly No headaches No stress Host who helped us - Kira - was absolutely lovely. Very pleasant and helpful. She knew what to do when and I just left everything to her. All the guests had a great time! They all left happy and tired from playing so much on the fun equipment. The play areas were actually really great. Something for everybody- i had guests ranging from 1 year to 11 years - and each one of them found a section of the play area they loved playing on. I got great feedback from everyone- they loved the party. I couldn’t have asked for better. Thanks to all you lovely people at Tumbles.
Aditi M — Google review
Thank you, Tumbles, for an excellent 3rd birthday celebration for our son! It was his very first party with friends, and it was an absolute hit! The Paw Patrol-themed party package made everything extra special, and the balloons looked fantastic on the table. Our party host and all the staff were incredibly professional, accommodating, and well-organised from start to finish. We truly appreciate the effort that went into making this day so memorable.
Anne S — Google review
We had our son’s 5th birthday party at Tumbles Playhouse. All children and families who attended our party had a great time. Tumbles Playhouse is super clean and the staff are fantastic. I’d probably suggest having the food out on platters for children/ parents to serve themselves, as some of the children liked something more than the other. Also cleaning up the tables before cake, children probably won’t come back for food over eating cake. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely consider future parties at Tumbles Playhouse.
Jessica S — Google review
We love Tumbles. We’ve been a few times over the last past two years. Great play-centre, nice layout, always clean, not super chaotic like some play-centres, and friendly staff. Good food for a play-centre (love the bread and dips). We had a party with Tumbles today for our son’s 4th. Great experience, would highly recommend. Fantastic staff and reasonably priced. Thanks Tumbles.
Megs R — Google review
I hosted my daughter's first birthday at Tumbles on a Saturday night privately. It was the perfect venue for a winter birthday as the weather wasn't a factor. The play centre was fully cleaned before my guests arrived. Chad was so easy to deal with from the beginning of the booking process to greeting us on the night on the party. He was very accomodating with changing times/etc. I would definitely recommend booking your party at Tumbles.
Natalie C — Google review
I took my 2 children 6 and 9 today. They haven't stopped talking about it. Absolutely loved their time there. It is very modern looking, clean and set out perfectly. My daughters favourite was the astro slide and my son loved playing on the bouncy castle. Spent most of the day there and they never were bored at any stage. Very reasonably priced, friendly, efficient staff and food we enjoyed immensely. Thanks for a memorable day guys

We recently celebrated our daughter’s 5th birthday at Tumbles Playhouse, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From start to finish, the team was incredibly helpful, friendly, and well-organised, making the entire process stress-free for us. The venue itself is clean, safe, and has plenty of fun activities and play areas to keep the kids entertained for hours. The party decor and setup were beautifully done, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious. We all had an amazing time. I would highly recommend Tumbles Playhouse to anyone looking for a fun and hassle-free party venue for their little ones.

We celebrated our daughter's 5th birthday here. It is very clean, well organised, less crowded and our experience was nothing short of amazing. The food was delicious.Specially the paninis and turkish platter. On the tab coffee or drinks and how efficiently it was served to each guest speak volumes of your hospitality. The hosts were so lovely and helped throughout! I applaud the whole team for making our celebration super smooth! We had a theme package and the balloons were high quality and oh so pretty! My daughter had a great time and all kids and adults enjoyed the party. It's a hidden gem! Definitely will celebrate here again! The best thing is it did not feel crowded at all even on a Saturday with three party rooms celebrating at the same time. Love this place!

We had such a fun morning here together! The staff are so wonderful and welcoming, really helpful. We most definitely will be back again.

We had such a wonderful experience at Clip ‘n Climb Williamstown. My 4-year-old was very nervous at first and kept saying how scared she was, but the staff were so kind and encouraging. It was amazing to see her build up so much confidence and give it a go. By the end she was climbing with the biggest smile on her face. Such a fantastic place for kids to challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment. We will definitely be back!

Staff was lovely and checking it was super easy, I did book online to make the check in quicker. There was a party on when I went but otherwise it wasn't too busy. The climbing was really fun and the pre climbing guide was great. There are plenty of different climbing walls. The place is really clean and definitely worth a try if looking to do something a bit different. There are party rooms to have lunch, so keep that in mind if wanting to organise a party. Prices are reasonable and justifiable for the amount of time given.

Four stars for variety of climb equipment Five stars for the safety instructions prior to climb. ZERO star however for customer service, toilet cleanliness & food availability at the centre. The young boy that works there was quite rude. Get him some training please.

Nature preserve
Nestled just 11 kilometers from Melbourne's bustling CBD, Altona Coastal Park is a breathtaking 70-hectare reserve that serves as a crucial coastal wetland and nature conservation area. This stunning locale features diverse intertidal salt marshes, mangrove habitats, and mudflats that are essential for both resident and migratory shorebirds.
Another beautiful and peaceful beach to go for a walk. Majority of the area is actually inaccessible due to being conservation ground for either plants or migratory seabirds. Still, the paths designed for walking was great for watching the birds from afar and listening to the waves. I'd actually recommend Jawbone marine sanctuary and that area more as there are much more paths to walk.

Very appealing! There are many streams, ponds and a long coastal line. Too bad the water level of some streams and ponds are low because it hasn’t rained for days. Very relaxing but the sunshine is strong and there are many flies and insects. The winds are cool and balances the sun burning today. Some insects get to my eyes, ears, arms and noses. So, apply insect repellent, sunscreen, wear sunglasses and a cap. There are many birds. Some are big and some birds families live here. The fish swim in the sea. Few of them go into the shallow water. You can go fishing, jogging, cycling and hiking here. Not very good for sunbathing or picnicking lunch because of the flies.
John L — Google review
Nice park close to Altona township but remote enough to feel you’re away from everything. Plenty of wide open spaces and much of the area is used by cyclists, walkers, joggers and dog owners as it’s good for off leash. Shared paths so watch out for each other. Note that in warmer weather there are sometimes snakes around but rare to come across one. The flora and fauna is good. Lots of birds here so if you’re a twitcher you’ll enjoy this place. City views. Relatively flat, ideal for wheelchair access. Kid friendly with a playground nearby. Toilets also near the yacht club.
Debi S — Google review
Needs a little maintenance on some of the gates, or rather the springs to keep them closed, but terrific sizes paddocks and lots of space to run your dogs
Michelle K — Google review
Great open areas, suited to experienced drone pilots. Nice beaches for dog walking, clean cycle path and nicely maintained walking trails. This park has an abundance of wildlife, especially birds. A great family place, nice views. Whilst the park is very open, it would likely get windy in poor weather, and there is little protection from the wind here.

A terrific place to walk around with a camera and photograph birds. I have spent many years driving past it without even realising that it was there.

Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park is a regional park that offers a blend of historical significance and coastal beauty. Visitors can enjoy nature walks, coastal views, and waterfront eateries at the nearby Commonwealth Reserve. The park provides panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne skyline, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. While there are no picnic tables or public toilets available, it remains a great place to take a break, learn about local history, and appreciate the bay's refreshing breeze.
Large parkland area adjoining the headland walk around the Williamstown shoreline. Consists mainly of grassy expanses, there’s also a kid’s playground and a number of historical sites relating to the area’s former use as a naval base and dockyard. Nice spot for a walk - easy to do a loop of the point from the main centre of Williamstown.

Apart from the refinery blocking much of the view to the east, this is a nice place which should always be protected. I like the peaceful (but narrow and rocky) beach next to Battery Road, including the lava blister, and the playground at Fort Gellibrand is great for kids.

Good walk around the point with a neat view across to the city. My kids love clambering over the rocks and searching for their favourite shells. Good playground here which is much quieter than the one around the corner at Commonwealth Park

The 100 Steps of Federation, located in Truganina Park, is a popular attraction that leads to the top of a 17m high mound. The stone staircase, made of recycled basalt rock, offers a relatively easy climb with rewarding panoramic views at the summit. Visitors can enjoy a 360-degree view of the bay, Melbourne CBD and Cheetham Wetlands. The park itself is well-maintained and offers open spaces for leisurely walks and relaxation away from city life.
This place is amazing for a lovely evening walk. When you climbed up the steps you can see a nice view of the Melbourne city and the bay. There are some benches at the very top for you to relax and enjoy the view. Sadly I couldn’t capture them. I’m sure this place is more beautiful at night with the lights on but the park is closed by 7pm.

Amazing views & Greenery, Different short tracks that pretty much link up together, good signage & a spacious area to explore. Couldn’t find a toilet but I’m sure there is some close by as it’s behind the sports stadium & fields. 👌 dog friendly
Ces — Google review
One of the best days of my recent Melbourne trip was taking the train to Altona, a pleasant suburb, and then a bus to go walking in this area. The 100 steps are short and easy to climb and the view is wonderful, but for my son and I, the big attraction was all the bird life even though we didn't manage to spot any orange-bellied parrots, which are evidently rare. You can also walk along the Hobsons Bay coastal trail from Altona. Having done both in one day, I estimated that we spotted at least 25 different bird species.

The 100 Steps of Federation is a beautiful spot with amazing views once you reach the top. It’s a short, easy walk that’s great for all fitness levels, and the lookout offers a fantastic view across the bay, city skyline, and surrounding landscape. The area is clean, well maintained, and has plenty of open space to enjoy a walk, take photos, or just relax. There’s also a bit of history behind the monument, which adds to its charm. It’s especially nice at sunset when the light over the water is stunning. A great place to visit for some fresh air and great views!

Good place for a chill walk. Some parts have little to no shade so I recommend bringing a hat. Lots of paths along the trail which can take you to the beach or other lakes in the area. P A Burns Reserve is a spacious and unrestricted dog beach with ample parking spaces. It features two picnic tables with benches, a generous grass area for dogs to frolic, and complimentary dog tidy bags (although occasionally limited). The reserve would benefit from additional taps equipped with dog bowls for hydration and sand removal. Unfortunately, there are no covered areas to shield visitors from the elements. However, the distant city views make up for this drawback.
Nice part of Altona with lots to see, particularly nice to walk around the beach. Great views to the city. Signage is good. Toilets available. Close to a few shops. This is a nature tail is some aspects. Expect to see people with dogs and in warmer months - possibly snakes. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly my. Good carparking.

Large off leash dog beach. Plenty of car parking spaces. 2 tables and benches for picnics. Ample grass area for dogs to run around. Free dog tidy bags available, but sometimes runs out. Needs some taps with dog bowls for drinking and washing sand off feet. No undercover areas to protect from rain or sun. Distant views of the city. 3-5 mins walk from car to water.

The level of stupidity of this park is beyond crazy. They used chicken wire fencing to protect some plants right on the middle of an off-leash dog park. Dogs run. They don’t care about nice plants. Dogs keep running in to the fence as it’s really thin. I already sent a complaint to the council last time my dog gut hurt:

The West Gate Bridge Memorial Park stands as a tribute to Australias most severe industrial catastrophe. In 1970, an immense section of the bridge collapsed during its construction, resulting in the tragic deaths of thirty five workers and injuring eighteen others. Annually on October 15th (excluding 2020 due to Covid restrictions), a memorial gathering takes place to honor the victims, survivors, affected families, and courageous individuals who risked their lives to recover those lost or injured.
Here sits the memorial monument to Australia’s worst industrial accident. On 15 October 1970, Australia’s worst modern industrial accident occurred. A 2000 ton span of the West Gate Bridge fell, during construction. Thirty five bridge workers died with another eighteen being injured. On Oct 15th every year (except for 2020 due to Covid restrictions) there is a memorial gathering to remember the 35 victims, 18 survivors, the families that it affected, and all the brave workers who risked everything to recover the dead and injured.
Teana K — Google review
I remember when the bridge came down and after all these years never knew there was a memorial. Despite lots of cones around it and not being very welcoming I decided to explore anyway. I took a moment to remember what it must have been like but frankly I cannot comprehend what it must have been for those men and women who were involved in this tragedy. There is a nice park nearby to explore as well. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Small parking area.

The park also features beautiful trees, a historical homestead, and free Wi-Fi. With its proximity to the beach and shops, it's an ideal spot for picnics and family BBQs.
It's a beautiful park, has small covered areas perfect to relax on sunny days. Close to beach so you can feel the nice breeze. Has beautiful trees and swings for kids. I have been to this place with my baby. Also a great place to take your dog for a walk. Perfect for a family picnic or BBQ. It's near to Coles, 2 minutes walk and 3 minutes to the pier street shops. Everything is close by. There are also some ice cream shops to enjoy ice cream in the part. There is a big old tree in the park which I admire. There is also a small information centre which will provide you all the information about the area.

Beautiful, serene and an all-in-one package, with a park for families next to a beautiful beach for enthusiasts and unfortunately some cosy places for drug addicts and borderline homeless drunks. We went there as a family with the new arrival and we didn’t feel completely safe when breastfeeding, as there were drunk men in rather less conservative attires, homeless addicts sleeping on the benches etc. The scenery itself is amazing and lots of locals come here over the weekend to enjoy the love and life of this amazing place.
Payam F — Google review
Perfect spot for a picnic with the family or friends. A recent upgrade sees this place Witt food toilets, playground for all ages, tables, chairs and more. Sit under the Norfolk pines or the enormous fig tree and soak up all that Altona has to offer. The pier is across the road and it’s 300m from road to the end. Parking is pretty good but can be more challenging in warmer days. Very kid friendly. Toilets close. Shops are across the road for the usual fish and chips plus supermarket and all other amenities up Pier Street. Wheelchair friendly.
