Peaceful, powerful, and a bit of cardio too! 😄 Climbing up all those steps is totally worth it once you reach the top the view of the city is just amazing, especially around sunrise or sunset. The temple has a calm and spiritual vibe that instantly makes you feel positive. The atmosphere is clean and well-maintained, and the energy here feels different like a mix of devotion and fresh mountain air. Definitely one of the must-visit spots if you want both blessings and a mini workout!

It's a nice place with majestic spiritual essence. Located at a distance of 4.5-5kms from Ranchi Railway Station. A Temple of Lord Shiva at the top of the Hill, also known as Pahari Baba. There are several steps to reach to the top. It's easy for young ones but tough for the elder peoples to go there. You can have a scenic view of the Town Ranchi from the top of the hill. Please do visit.

Pahari Mandir offers a meaningful blend of spiritual reverence, historical importance, and scenic beauty. The ascent might be challenging for some, but the view—and the atmosphere—make it worth the effort. Just be aware of limited amenities at the top and consider visiting off-peak hours for a more relaxed experience.
ROHAN S — Google review
If someone go to Pahari mandir feels the positive vibes.I  must appreciate the Architecture. Devotees must go . So many stall over there wherein one can find almost everything to worship lord Shiva. You can enjoy a mesmerizing view from top this hill. I would like this mention about the cleanliness, that need to improve.

To tell you the truth, this temple is very beautiful. This is Mahadev ji's temple. To go to this temple, you have to climb a few steps. That means you have to go to the top of the mountain. You will get a very beautiful city view from here. You will get the most beautiful city view of the whole of Ranchi from this temple. If you don't believe it, then you can go here and see it. This is a very beautiful temple. When you climb up it, when you go above the stairs, you will see a very beautiful and very good view.

Nakshatra Van is a popular tourist attraction situated near Rajbhawan in Ranchi. The opening time is at 9:30 AM and closes at 6PM. It Remains closed on Monday . The entry fee is Rs.15 for adults and Rs.10 for kids between 3 to 12 years of age. Apart from that you have to pay vehicle parking fee. The park is a good place to spend some time alone or with friends/family. There are several varieties of plant/tree species on display here. Some of the exotic plant/tree species are also on exhibition like Kalmegh, Kasturi, Brahmi, Ghritkumari, Ashvagandha, Lemon Grass, Rohini Jamun, Ashwini , Shammi, etc. Apart from that there is also a rose garden with various colored roses. The smell of the roses is really refreshing, specially in the evening when the wind is blowing. There is also a pond situated in the park. There is also a place called Mundan Ghat near the pond. . Hygiene is just OK. Do not expect anything special. But there is no cafeteria or restaurant here. Donot go in college or school dress.

Pratik B — Google review
Visited Kanke Dam during my bike ride through Ranchi, and it instantly became one of those peaceful places you remember long after leaving. The calm water reflecting the orange evening sky, the distant hum of the city fading away — it’s where Ranchi feels truly alive yet completely still. The road leading to the dam is smooth and scenic, with small local tea stalls along the way. I crashed at my friend’s place just beside kanke dam and just watched the sunset paint everything gold. The crowd is mixed — couples, locals on evening walks, and travellers looking for quiet corners. What makes Kanke Dam special is its simplicity — no flashy decorations, just raw, natural beauty. You’ll often see ducks gliding across the water and kids cycling near the edge. It’s a great spot for photography, calm reflection, or just unwinding after a long day. Tips: – Best time: Early morning or evening for soft light and cool breeze – Carry snacks if you plan to sit longer; limited stalls nearby – Respect the silence — it’s part of the charm 🌤️

Take the road from market side. You can do boating. Nice place to enjoy the sunset. After Evening, better to avoid the back side of rock garden which is the end part of kanke dam.

One of the beautiful place of ranchi, One must visit here, Either single or couples both will enjoy Dam is big enough and have nice view, you can do boating here , the rock garden near is also a good place to rest and spend good time together
Obaid S — Google review
Nestled amidst the verdant embrace of Ranchi's countryside, Kanke Dam emerges as a serene sanctuary, beckoning travelers to bask in the tranquil ambiance of its scenic splendor. Enveloped by lush foliage and cradled by rolling hills, the dam's expansive reservoir mirrors the ethereal hues of the azure sky, creating a mesmerizing tableau that enchants the senses. Here, amidst the symphony of nature, visitors find solace in the gentle lapping of water against the dam's shores and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. Boating enthusiasts can embark on leisurely voyages across the placid waters, while leisure seekers find sanctuary upon the dam's banks, where sprawling lawns invite languid picnics and contemplative strolls. However, despite its natural allure, Kanke Dam grapples with the challenge of inadequate facilities, including limited seating and restroom amenities, which may detract from the overall visitor experience. Moreover, the absence of diversified recreational offerings might leave some yearning for more engagement opportunities. Nonetheless, Kanke Dam stands as an emblem of tranquility and natural grandeur, inviting travelers to immerse themselves in the timeless charm of Ranchi's hinterland.
Apoorva N — Google review

Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park, located in the heart of Ranchi, Jharkhand, is a sprawling 104-hectare zoo that beautifully integrates wildlife with its natural forested terrain. This park stands out as one of India's most popular zoos due to its stunning landscapes and diverse animal inhabitants. The gentle undulations of the land combined with lush greenery and ample water sources create an ideal habitat for various species to thrive comfortably.
It was a good experience with my kid and family. The walk was quite long nonetheless. This is mostly because we missed to hire a buggy at the entrance (highly recommended if you are with kids and elderly). The park is very neat and clean other than the usual animal smell nothing else. Considering the weather and heat, we felt The Black Bear was more welcoming than others 🤫😬. I know that my kid enjoyed the walk in the zoo. The timing to visit I felt like entry by 10:15/10:30 and exit by 01:00/01:30 PM to be ideal with kids and elderly. Carry water and small snacks but make sure to use dustbins when done. Variety of birds, animals and reptiles are in the zoo. Overall I will say a good experience.
Biplab M — Google review
The zoo offers an incredible experience with over 100 species of animals, birds, and reptiles, making it a perfect spot for wildlife lovers and families. From majestic leopards to colorful parrots and playful monkeys, each enclosure is well-maintained and offers a close glimpse of nature’s diversity. The lush greenery and clean pathways make the visit pleasant and refreshing. Informative signboards enhance the learning experience. A canteen is available inside, offering food and refreshments to keep you energized during the visit. It’s a great place to explore, enjoy, and connect with wildlife in a safe and organized environment. Highly recommended!

Birsa Zoological Park, Ranchi, is one of the best-maintained zoos in eastern India. The environment is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by dense greenery — perfect for a family outing or a quiet walk. The animals are well cared for, and information boards help visitors learn about each species. The kids’ area and safari rides add extra excitement, especially for children. The ticket prices are reasonable, and facilities like drinking water, restrooms, and food stalls are available. Parking is also well managed. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ranchi who wants to relax close to nature and wildlife. 🌿🐅

One of the gems of Ranchi. Situated at NH on Ranchi Patna Road. It’s also called the Ormanjhi Zoo. Has ample Parking space. We booked the tickets online, can be purchased on counter too. I preferred this to avoid the queue however there wasn’t any rush as such. Inside you get battery operated cars which can be booked at 300/-. There is waiting always for the same. Keep half an hour as wait period for this. In terms of animals and condition of the park - it’s really well kept and maintained. Very good experience for kids and adults too. There is a snake world inside, don’t miss that.. :)

The visit was not of good taste.we 4 Adults and 2 children aged 4 & 2 years reached at 3=30 PM. The moment we reached at the entrance Gate,A loud sound frightened us Which was due to fall of DRY BRANCH of Tall Dry Tree standing just near the First Turn of the Entrance Gate.By GOD Grace We escaped unhurt for few inches. The intensity of impact can be gauged by the bend Corrugated sheet nearby . We made an Entry and went straight for hiring vehicle at around 3=35 PM Where we got another as No vehicle was available.Enquiry revealed that only 3 small vehicles are plying and rest are under Breakdown including the Big one.We somehow managed to walk a little with 2 small children and left disappointed.

You need atleast 2 hours to visit all places of park. Here a dhaba is also available where you can eat but little expensive. Such a great experience to visit. Atleast you should visit once in your life.

Its a zoo + nature park + botanical garden + children's amusement park + wildlife reserve, rescue. Everything in one place. And best of all the location, extremely easy to get there via nh 33. Been here dozens of time and yesterday went with people from my hometown. Everyone had the best time. Boating for some reason wasn't available this time. But white tiger is the latest feature of this place. Must visit if you're coming to Ranchi. And yes do come in light clothing. You will have to walk a lot, 5-6 kms easily, although a golf cart sevice is also there but I don't recommend it. Don't be lazy while you're out to enjoy :)

I recently visited Biodiversity Park located on Ranchi Ring Road, and it turned out to be a refreshing and peaceful experience. Spread over a vast area surrounded by greenery, the park offers a perfect escape from the city’s noise and pollution. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by clean pathways, well-maintained lawns, and a variety of trees and plants that make the atmosphere calm and soothing. The park features several sections showcasing diverse plant species, herbal gardens, and seating areas that allow visitors to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The park also features small water bodies and scenic viewpoints that enhance its charm. It’s an ideal spot for morning walks, family outings, or simply spending quiet time in nature. The place is also quite photogenic, especially during early mornings and evenings. I noticed that the park management has done a good job keeping it neat and well-organised. However, there could be more amenities like snack stalls or a small café to make the visit even better. Overall, Biodiversity Park on Ranchi Ring Road is a great destination for nature lovers and those seeking peace definitely worth visiting again.

The Ranchi Science Center, established in 2010, is a popular tourist destination in Ranchi. It offers three themed galleries with interactive exhibits related to Physics, Biology, Human Race and Technology. The center also showcases the culture of Jharkhand and features attractions like the blue print of the Bokaro Steel Plant factory and a Coal Cave experience. Visitors can enjoy educational programs and explore the planetarium.
The experience at the science center was good, but if you want to watch the show in the planetarium, make sure there are at least 10 people. Otherwise, the staff there will not issue tickets. A minimum of 10 people is required.
Prahlad K — Google review
Ranchi Science Centre is a great educational place, especially for children. Adult admission is twenty rupees, while children under twelve pay ten. However, this science facility needs a lot of attention, nobody there can explain it, it needs a lot of upkeep and all experiments involving glass are not cleaned. 3D shows are suitable for children fees 50.

The restaurant offers authentic North Indian and Chinese cuisine, with dishes like Chicken Mughlai Paratha, Chicken Choupsey, Paneer Shahi Kema, and Kaju Curry. Visitors praise the polite staff and clean ambiance at this family-friendly establishment.
Just go.there and enjoy mouthwatering food at affordable prices..service and atmosphere is great. Very neat and clean place. Good parking space. Just don't miss it

Pretty Average: Hot Lips offers a pleasing ambience with a basic yet cozy setting. However, the food quality fell short of expectations. While the atmosphere was and ambiance was good, the dishes lacked flavor, leaving much to be desired. The menu seemed promising, but execution did not match up, resulting in a disappointing dining experience overall. For those looking for a relaxed environment, Hot Lips delivers on ambiance, but for a satisfying meal, one might want to explore other options. And trust me there are better food on the same price point. Conclusion: If you're very fanatic about the food and flavour this place is not for you

Staff and service they provided was good. Upper floor was empty.. That give the vibe of being booked whole space.. Staff was very cooperative and behaved nice. Although picture frame and decorations is pretty simple, no dramatic or Instagramic.

Total waste of money and time. Hotlips- earlier this was famous for its food but has become nonsense these days. The food was very very bad. We have orderd mushroom tikka, chicken tikka along with some other starters. What we received was cold and unappetizing food and specially mushroom was rotten and spolied. Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the staff, there was no effort made to rectify the sitiation or make it right. Staff was like- hamara yaha aisa hi milta h aapne order kiya h aap samjho, hmlog kch nahi kr skte..hm ne fresh hi diya h. They were very rude. this resturant doesn’t deserve a single star for its food and staff behavior.
Vipul K — Google review
We went with our friends for first time in Kanke outlet and tried many items like we tried chicken platter which was worst because many of items were burnt and extra dry & we also tried Murgh Mussalam which was also not up to the mark however some of the items were decent like noodles and baby corn chilli. Service was okay but staff should be more polite.

The starter was okay but the main course was very bad. The worst part being the waiters and managers just ignore you and your request. Even after I asked how to give a review they refrained from sharing a customer feedback form and completely ignored.

Hindu temple
Nestled atop a hill in Ranchi, the Jagannath Mandir is a stunning Hindu temple that dates back to 1691. This architectural marvel not only mirrors the renowned Jagannath Temple in Puri but also offers breathtaking views of the city and its cricket stadium. The serene atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for spiritual seekers and cultural enthusiasts alike, especially during vibrant festivals like Rath Yatra. Visitors are often captivated by the exquisite idols housed within, which radiate beauty and tranquility.
Nestled on the serene hilltop of Ranchi’s Dhurwa region, the iconic Jagannath Mandir is a spiritual symphony echoing the grandeur of its Puri namesake — but with a smaller crowd, cooler breeze, and a charming rustic vibe that feels both ancient and intimate. Not Just a Temple—It’s a Legacy in Laterite Built in 1691 by the king of Barkagarh, Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, this temple is older than many of India’s railway stations and certainly more peaceful. The architectural style bears a close resemblance to the iconic Jagannath Temple of Puri, but it's crafted in the local laterite stone and has a distinctly tribal influence that gives it a character all its own. Here's the kicker: the temple was partially destroyed due to aging and structural decay, but thanks to public devotion and ASI-supported renovations, it's now standing tall like a phoenix in sandstone robes. When Tradition Takes the Hill — Literally Every year during the Rath Yatra, the temple transforms into a cultural carnival, drawing thousands who brave the hilltop climb with the zeal of true pilgrims and the cardio strength of seasoned trekkers. The idols of Lords Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Lady Subhadra are paraded in a vibrant chariot procession — think spiritual parade meets community reunion. Fascinating Tidbits: - The climb to the temple involves about 200+ steps, and if you're lucky, the setting sun will reward your effort with a panoramic Ranchi skyline dipped in gold. - Despite being lesser-known nationally, this temple is immensely significant to the tribal communities of Jharkhand, blending Vedic rituals with local customs. - According to local lore, some of the stones used in its reconstruction were brought from Odisha, maintaining a spiritual umbilical cord with Puri. A Reflective Wrap-Up: If faith had a postcode in Jharkhand, it would be the Jagannath Mandir, Dhurwa. It’s sacred without the chaos, spiritual without the sermon, and historic without the ego. Go for the peace, stay for the view, and come back for the Rath Yatra!
Rajdeep D — Google review
The temple is well-located and very clean. Convenient parking is available nearby. A peaceful and spiritual place—may Lord Jagannath bless everyone.

Ranchi Jagannath temple is quite peaceful and nice place to visit in Ranchi.. it's located on a small hill top, Ranchi assembly and stadium view is very good from here. There was no large gathering so one can send time here and offer Puja to lord Jagannath. Parking space is also available.
Suman S — Google review
Made on top of a small hill in dhurwa region, it is a replica of the main temple of odisha. The legacy it holds of standing strong since 17th century makes it incredible.
Anshul R — Google review
Jagannath Mandir in Jagannathpur, Ranchi is truly a peaceful and divine place. The temple is situated at a beautiful and elevated location, offering a serene atmosphere that helps you disconnect from the noise of daily life. The architecture of the temple resembles the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, and it’s both spiritual and visually captivating. The surroundings are clean, well-maintained, and ideal for families and devotees. Whether you’re visiting for prayers or just looking to spend some quiet, reflective time, this temple provides a calming experience. The panoramic view of Ranchi from the hilltop adds to the overall charm.

A serene divine sacred place on the hilltop where mahaprabhu is residing with his brother and sister. Easily accessible to all. Lord blessess who pays a visit to him. Makes me nostalgic.
Chinmoy S — Google review
A truly peaceful and beautiful temple situated on a small hill in Dhurwa. The place offers a calm spiritual atmosphere along with breathtaking panoramic views of Ranchi city—especially at sunset. The architecture is inspired by the Puri Jagannath Temple and the idols are very unique and divine. The climb is easy (you can also drive up), and once at the top, the surroundings feel very serene. During Rath Yatra, the temple becomes extremely lively with thousands of devotees, cultural programs, and a grand fair.

In simple words we can say that this place is very beautiful, unique and attractive in itself but when we see its other side than there are lots of Pollution here in the form of wild aquatic plants and different types of human wastes. I deducted 2 star because of its Pollution and weak fencing. There is a need to proper management and care of this place. A request from Government of Jharkhand to put some more extra efforts to make it neat and clean. • Opening time- 10 am to 5 pm. • Don't carry any plastic items here may they not allow. • Don't throw garbage here and there. • Be safe while exploring this place because it is totally surrounded by water and dangerous for children. Nestled in the serene village of Kalamati along the main Khuti road, Bhagwan Birsa Mrig Vihar is a delightful escape into nature that promises tranquility and beauty. This enchanting deer park, located on the route to Panchghagh Falls, showcases a variety of deer species, including spotted deer and majestic Sambhars. Visitors are often captivated by these gentle creatures as they approach for food.
I went first time here on 19th Nov. 2017, Its a nice place, for short time outing, out from city. No food items available there. Clean and green place. You can see lots of Deer there. The best part is entry ticket is very cheap, only Rs. 5. <3 LOVE with this place. Park time starts at 10am.

Very nice place for a day out. Just that there is a lot of walking to do inside which can be tiring for kids and elderly persons. Still, Kids will love to see the dears. No food allowed inside which is a good initiative looking at people throwing food packets and garbage here and there. Pleasant place overall.

I love this place for its beauty, peace, attraction, deers and much more. This place is easy to access because it is situated on the main khuti road. It is situated in a village named kalamati. You will find this place on the way of panchghaghf falls. Different types of deers were available and thier beautiness and uniqueness is really very very attractive. You will be surely attached to them. They came to near you for foods. Things for human beings:- •Toilets. •Children's Park. •Canteens. •Shades. •waters. •Sceneries •Outside Parking. •Etcetera Visit once if you are planning for panchghagh. Take your foods from outside for more convenience.
