I first visited Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in 2010, and after 15 years, I had the opportunity to visit again yesterday. It was wonderful to see the many changes around the temple — the surroundings are now much more spacious and beautifully developed. Thanks to Modiji’s government for making the temple area so beautiful, organized, and secure. However, one issue still remains — there are many brokers outside the temple who collect money for darshan, with prices varying according to the time and type of darshan. This system is not well-organized. Being from the South, we often find it difficult to navigate such situations and have no choice but to rely on these people. Fortunately, I had a friend from Varanasi who helped me have a hassle-free darshan. Otherwise, I might have fallen victim to these brokers. The government should definitely address this issue by introducing an online booking system for VIP darshan, similar to the system followed by TTD.

Manikarnika Ghat is a place where cremations take place continuously. I walked through the narrow galis to reach the ghat, and as I got closer, I noticed a lot of firewood everywhere. At first I didn’t understand why — but soon realized that cremations were happening all around. I saw people bringing bodies to the Ganga, performing the last rites, and offering the sacred Ganga water. Even the rooftops nearby were covered with ashes from the burned bodies. I visited in October 2024, shortly after the flood. At that time, most places were still being cleaned and covered with mud. Visiting the ghat in person and viewing it from a boat offer two completely different experiences. The walk through the galis to Manikarnika was also a unique experience — filled with local markets, street food stalls, and beautiful paintings that showed the vibrant life surrounding this deeply spiritual place.

The place to understand the ultimate truth of life! One should spend some time their when in Varanasi. This place has a different aura altogether. I was there at 11.30 in the night and felt so usual. However, there a different kind of vibe there, you can only feel it where you are there.

I felt a little bit concerned about my safety while visiting this university since it's an open university which makes it heavily crowded not only with people but also with heavy traffic. The authorities of the BHU campus should look into this matter with severity and try either to make the situation manageable or to take preemptive actions to regulate the entry of the foreign people from outside with vehicles!!

BHU has Asia's largest campus. Its too difficult to walk and cover the entire campus. We booked an e-rickshaw and admired the greenery of the campus as far and wide the eyes could see. Different departmental buildings had different architectural styles. The campus also houses the New Kashi Vishwanath Mandir or the Birla Mandir. The temple itself covers a large area. Its neat and well maintained. The shivling is located right at the centre. We could touch the linga and offer our prayer. It was an amazing experience.

We went there for best cadet camp selection, CATC, TSC training, and firing practice, and every single day was full of excitement and learning. The firing sessions taught us discipline and focus, while the drills and physical training kept us fit and motivated. We had ground discussions that encouraged teamwork and leadership, and the environment was always filled with energy thanks to all the singing, dancing, and cultural activities in the evenings. The 28 UP Girls Battalion really felt like a second family—everyone supported each other, and no one ever felt left out. We made so many new friends from different places, including naval cadets who joined in and shared their own stories and skills, making our experience even more diverse and fun. The camp staff and instructors were strict yet caring, always pushing us to do our best while making sure we were safe and learning the right way. The food was another highlight: five tasty meals a day including snacks, making sure we were always full of energy for the next activity. We loved sitting together in the mess hall, sharing jokes and stories. Even simple things like standing in line for meals, preparing for inspection, or late-night chats in the barracks became moments we’ll never forget. Honestly, none of us wanted to go back home because the bonds we built and the memories we created here were so special. It was worth visiting this museum. It opens after 10:30 for visitors( Non-BHU) people. If you are a college student anywhere from India show your I'd and get a ticket for ₹10 and for others ₹20. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the museum. The museum has many old excavated sculptures of Mahishasur mardini of different eras , idols of Lord Hanuman, and various Hindu deities. Each thing had its description written there like where it was found , which century it belongs to and which King's rule it was made. It also has a sculpture of Vaman Avtar, Narsimha Avatar, Gautam Buddha. Inside this there is a separate room which has many more precious things kept inside glass like Crown Made of glass, Shell 🐚 very big. Very small well crafted eye catching things of 2000 years ago. And many kinds of daggers and a trishula like thing. On the first floor you can see many types of Scripts (लिपि) , a few old things of philosophers , राजपत ् र , ink and things used by them for writing. And Huge map of Undivided INDIA. There is also a separate Hall of mesmerizing Paintings. The most beautiful thing I saw there was the Sculpture of Rani Alsa in a dancing form of 1300AD from the Chandel Kings Dynasty.

Ramnagar Fort is a nice place to visit if you are interested in history and heritage. The entry ticket costs ₹80 per person for Indians. The fort area is quite large and has been converted into a historical museum. Inside the museum, photography is strictly prohibited, but you can still spend hours exploring the big collection and the spacious grounds. One of the highlights is the view of the Ganga River from the backside of the fort, which is very scenic. The fort itself and its surroundings are good for photography, though not inside the museum. Overall, it’s a peaceful place to walk around, learn history, and enjoy the river view.

The fort is located on Varanasi Road, Ramnagar, in Uttar Pradesh. It sits on a vast area. There is a museum displaying some of the belongings, mainly from the early 20th century, used by the royal family. While the place doesn't seem bad at first glance, I personally felt that the 80-rupee ticket was a bit pricey for the rather ordinary exhibits on display. The royal family's descendants still live in the fort. However, the most stunning and serene part of the place is the section by the banks of the Holy Ganges. Here, you’ll find an old Shiva temple, along with several other temples dedicated to various deities, offering a breathtaking view of the river. It’s a wonderful spot to sit and spend a peaceful, relaxing time.

The museum is good, a number of artifacts are there from those days, however, they could have maintained it better. There are a lot of insta worthy places to click pictures and reels. Overall if you like historical places it a must visit for you if you are in Varanasi.

Key things to know: Royal Residence: A portion of the fort is still the private residence of the Kashi Naresh (Maharaja of Varanasi) and is not open to the public. Cultural Significance: The fort is particularly famous as the traditional venue for the grand Ramleela performances held during the Dussehra festival.

This fort is located in Ramnagar, located just on the opposite banks of Varanasi. This fort belonged to the King of Kashi. and many 19th and 20th century artefacts related to the royal family are preserved and exhibited here. Entry fee is ₹80, but it is worth the money. You can have a detailed view of the carriages, cars, clothes, old flag of kingdom of Kashi, weapons( knives, spears, guns, etc.) and even an impressive view of the ghats along with an old temple. This place is also famous for film shootings.

Ramnagar fort belonged to the king. Basically it's a fort and a museum in the same premised. The ticket price is Rs.25 per person. Absolutely worth it. The museum is huge. The entire fort gives aesthetic vibes. The museum shows ancient items used by them, their clothing, their arms and ammunition. There is an ancient clock which still functions. Must visit.

Beautiful wooden carvings are made on the temple. Not so crowded and not so well known, you'll love the peace and serene atmosphere here. The temple premises also offer great views of the ghats.

Nepali Temple is a very beautiful and peaceful place near Lalita Ghat in Varanasi. It’s also known as the Mini Pashupatinath Temple because it looks just like the one in Nepal. The temple is made of wood and stone, and its carvings are really amazing — you can feel the Nepali art and culture in every corner. The best part is the location near the Ganga River. Cool breeze, calm water, and temple bells — it feels like peace everywhere. Not much crowd, so you can sit quietly and enjoy the vibes.

Known for its exact replica as the Pashupatinath temple in Nepal and for its scenic sunrise views of the river. If you’re inside the Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor then you can head to Pashupatinath ghat/temple area (there are signboards marked) and then head to the Nepal temple. If you’re outside you can come from manikarnika ghat area and then head to temple corridor (there’s a small gate which lets you in) and then just ask them how to reach Nepal temple. The temple re opens at 3pm.

A splendid piece of architecture, made in the same style as the Kashi Vishwanath temple of Varanasi. This one is made in white marble where Mahadev sits majestically at the centre. There's a panditji inside all the time who allows you to give puja or pour water on Mahadev. The panditji also provides you with garlands in return. Its beautiful and very well maintained temple. You should visit before 12pm to be able to go inside the sanctum sanctorum.

In 2025, I could see how beautifully maintained it still is, clean, well-organized, and deeply spiritual. The chants, the fragrance of incense, and the rhythmic ringing of bells create a meditative ambience where one can truly connect inward. The evening aarti during Dev Deepawali was mesmerizing, hundreds of lamps illuminating the marble floors, devotees chanting together, and the entire space vibrating with divine energy. This temple isn’t just a sacred place; it’s an experience that brings calm, clarity, and devotion together. Each visit feels new yet familiar, reminding you why Varanasi is truly the spiritual heart of India. Lovely ghat which is maintained pretty nice because of the 5-start hotel Brijrama situated at this ghat. It’s an old fort converted to a hotel now. It’s a relatively Quieter ghat and quite picturesque as well. You can go to the viewing spots which is at a relatively higher place and get some amazing views and shots. People come over here and play guitar and music and chillax. Especially at night this ghat spot is very quiet. So if you want some me time, this is the place you need to be at.

Very peaceful place……Assi Ghat, located at the southern end of Varanasi, stands as the city’s one of the famous ghat. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists.Assi Ghat is important place as it is where the river Ganga (Ganga maiya) meets with the Assi River. On daily basis thousands of people visit assi ghat to enjoy the morning ganga aarti as well as evening ganga aarti and spent hours with and bothered.

The view of the Ganges, especially during the evening, is mesmerizing. The Assi Ghat evening Aarti is a must-watch experience—it’s filled with divine chants, rhythmic bells, and the glow of countless diyas lighting up the riverbank. The atmosphere feels truly spiritual, giving you a sense of inner calm and connection. The version of Shiv Tandav Strotram played there is the best thing to enjoy and connect with. Bhajans and rituals done there are mesmerizing. Try to reach by 5 or 5:30 if you don’t want to pay more and want a better place to view the Aarti.

One of my favourite ghats of benaras which not witness hussle bussle of other popular ghats. Sample of space and stairs. Old pizzaria the vatika situated here.have paid toilet. Ganga arati is performed here both morning and Evening. There are lots of good food stall and restaurant / cafe. Palace by the Ganga and the roof top cafe is also situated here.

It was quite good experience. I went their with my Scooty and parking charge was 20 rs for two wheeler. For photos in pool, Buy or take phone protector plastic to save your phone from water. Ticket charge was 400 per person on week days and 500 for weekend. After entry in gate, Locker charges was 50 rs and security money was 150 and costume charges was 50 rs and security money was 100 rs. Security money is refundable when you came from pool. Locker was in front of pool and ladies changing room was in corner. Wave pool timing was around 20 min. And food section area was on right side. We enjoyed a lot.

It’s best to visit during weekdays to avoid the crowd. The pool is divided into five sections. Front section, which lies first from the gate and is in front of rented swimming costume place, has small pools for youngest kids having few statues of animals for attraction. Second section which takes the major area, has huge canopy and many water rides. But yes, for round about rides you got to take surfing kind of board three floors up. It has a rain dance canopy as well, which has good continuous rain from canopy of it's umbrella. This section has few swings as well. Third section to right, has a huge circular ride. You got to take care of your neck before such ride for sure. Fourth section at left, has the wave are, which works for almost 10 minutes but at regular intervals. Last section which is in front of wave ride area, has a good place for tent for common snacks for any fuction if you want. Well there are many other parts of it as well, but what's bad I think is.. when you go to Washroom for after wash, some equipments don't work, they are in bad condition. Though, yes you can surely visit for memories and good water rides.

Worst slides … only 2 is working out of 26 they say … and the behavior of staff members is very bad … they just treat you badly … and the rating of 5 is just for show off … they give free petis for rating 5 star

Very good place in the middle of the city to enjoy your morning and evening walk with so many Chaos. Park and garden which has been a leading place in the development of Banaras since its early days. The environment and the area here provides a lot of relaxation for the people physically and mentally in the midst of a congested area, here people of all ages whether it is elderly, middle-aged, youth or children, they all together create a healthy environment. They work out under it and also do many types of exercises. Nowadays, the Municipal Corporation has also increased many types of facilities around the park, in which there is cleanliness, lighting and proper seating arrangement and many types of shops have also opened around it, due to which the people who come to this park can enjoy even more health. Along with this, when do many types of entertainment also come. Therefore it has become a major park of Banaras. There are kids play area with some swings, slides and fun things. There are some equipments related to exercises are also available for younger and older people too. In morning and specially in evening there are so many people you see with their kids, grand kids and friends or family to enjoy some happy time and have some street food Around the park you will get so many vendors with various kind of street food, icecream and so many things. People from nearby come to their walk because it's quite big public park with sidewalk.

While it isn’t overly crowded all the time, there’s enough energy to make the place feel alive and safe. The overall maintenance is commendable, and the presence of security personnel adds a sense of safety for families and solo visitors alike. Whether you’re looking for a quiet morning walk, some time to relax, or a place for children to enjoy outdoor activities, Shaheed Udyan is definitely worth a visit. It combines greenery, accessibility, and community vibes in a way that makes it a standout spot in the city.

A beautiful place for walk and some sort of work out by women, children and men. Upkeep of landscape is very good but then the caretakers shall check menfolk urinating on the hedges and on the inside walls in public view. Even dogs defecate on the pathway. It would be a better idea to provide public convenience toilets for women, men, and Divyang( as they do in Lodhi Garden in New Delhi ). And for rainy days they should build a rain shelter. No bikes shall be allowed to block the entrance of Shaheed Udyan gate that lies in front of Varanasi Nagar Nigam gate. The competent authority shall visit to have a feel of the problems and improve their shape. The list of Shaheed ( martyrs) shall be updated.

It is a part type in Sigra Varanasi. It is just in front of Nagar Nigam Varanasi and near the stadium which is being built in Sigra. It is a good place in morning and in evening many uncles, old ages and kids come to play and jog. Near them there are many stalls like momos and other fast food corners. Overall it is a good place to visit once when you are in Varanasi.

Shahid Udyan Park which is for couples for children and people come here to roam and children also come and play, there are many plants in the park which look very nice, there is an atmosphere of peace and you Greenery will also be found here. There will also be cool cold air. Parking facility will be available. You can definitely come to this park, which is probably if the controller falls between Ashirwad Current and Sigra intersection. Udyan Park and if you talk from behind, it falls on Sigra Wali Road of Chitaipur. Then definitely definitely come here and I will break it's rating 5/4 phone.

Earlier this park was in very bad condition, but this park is maintained. People can relax and take rest here. The garden is maintained, it's clean and quiet. For kids swing there. Now people need to maintain it. Pathways are made for walking. Benches are there. Many tea and snacks shops out of the Anand park. Overall it's an average park, which is maintained now.

Everythings was fine here. Badminton court was too here. Enough swings. I was upset with croudiness and loudness, exercising in community could be done without singing "jinga lalla ho ho " {Somethings else they all were saying} to. Bruh all noisy. Definitely a fine place to sit in time when crowd is less.

Anand Park is situated beside Durgakund Temple and it's free for public. The park is in good condition and it's calm most of the time. The park has seating chairs and swing and it's children friendly. The temple of Lord Shiva placed in the middle of the park & the temple is designed very well on off-white marble. Beautiful greenery and peaceful environment.

It is small but very beautiful and always open, closes after 8 pm in the night, there is no restriction of any kind and many people come to visit this place and many lovers also visit this place.

It Needs more improvement in many areas likewise security, cleanliness, couples making it too awkward ,as it mainly focus on the children play area. Infra is good, parking lot is available nearby. Overall u can go with ur child with little cautions.

Nehru park is besides Jhv mall cantonment. Entry ticket Rs 20 Parking fee Rs 10 Timing for winter and summer are different It's an average park where swings slides, gym equipment are available for visitors, but every thing is in not proper condition. Some are damage, benches are there to relax, walking trail is available. No eatery are available in the premises. Overall an average park with entry fees. There is no need to take entry fees. They charge to sit in maintain park. Here one can enjoy picnic amid city. Lots of improvement are required.

Pretty average park with non-existent upkeep. Good only for walking. Slides and swings for kids are in shambolic state and poorly designed. Don’t know why they charge an entry fee. And yes, there is NO TRAIN here as many others have claimed. There is not even a track now.

You will enter this park, trees, plants, greenery, swings, place to play, listening to music and doing yoga, every facility is available, the flowers are also very beautiful for watching and space for children to play, there is swing fountain music, it gives a good feeling.
