Parks
Haigh Woodland Park is a vast recreational area offering wooded hiking trails, a rope course, miniature railway, and golfing. It's an ideal stop for families visiting Wigan or exploring nearby attractions like the Three Sisters Racing Circuit and the Old Courts. After a refreshing walk in Haigh Woodland Park, visitors can enjoy traditional Sunday roasts at nearby pubs and restaurants.
Great park, lots of paths to walk with varied scenery leads to canal which you can walk and loop back round to the main park. Saw horse riders, cyclists, runners. The free park itself is well built with lots of challenges for the kids. Behind it was a small forest where the kids where making lean to shelters with the downed trees and branches. There is a paid high rope section however it's 8+ Also on site whilst visiting was a small amusement park. There is a square of various shops from chocolate to a pizzeria, deli, cafe and farm shop. The delivery we found to be great value and not too expensive. There are also ice cream vans dotted around if you are after a sweet treat. Parking is paid but reasonable at 3.50 for the day. Altogether it was a nice day out and would return.

Was disappointed to find the miniature train was all blocked off for maintenance, had all year but choose the first week of the summer holidays to do it, so, thought we'd go and look at the hall...nope, not possible as that was enveloped in a huge white screen, ok, so we went to the cafe and was charged £10 for a baked potato!! Parking is not free and you are not allowed to use a blue badge... had a little play area for kids and mini golf and Go Ape, " ornamental " pond was more like black slime and full of lily pads, totally neglected, lots of space for kids but lots of dogs off lead, so be careful, take a picnic too to save yourself some money
Donna P — Google review
I've been coming to this park for several years now and honestly, I feel like it is going a bit downhill. We arrived today and the two main play frames were sectioned off for repair. The funfair had stopped even though all the kids aren't back in school until at least Thursday. The go ape climbing was shut. The little train track is NEVER running when we go. It looks like it's undergoing maintenance but never seen anyone working on it. The duck pond has blue algae in it and doesn't seem like it is being treated. The main gardens with the lovely trees have been shut now for about 2 years. No idea why! The toilets are really smelly and the soap box hasn't been fixed in at least 12 months and you could really do with putting some toilets down near the smaller wooden park as I've been caught out twice there now with my toddler who needed a number 2! Luckily had bags on me for her to do it in! On a positive note, the cafes / shops are great. There's some woodland you can walk through which is good to explore. There's a range of play equipment suitable for all ages and 2 places you can play mini golf. Plenty of sit down spaces and picnic tables. Parking is cheap and you can spend hours there on a good day. The new flower garden is really lovely. There's a great little bird watching area and the shop on the way in is selling wild bird food for you to put on the tables. Wigan council need to do a lot better! This is a well used park and would be so much better with access to all areas!

We had a lovely day here. The park caters for all ages. There are 2 crazy golf's, my nearly 4 yr old grandson loved his first time playing this. The staff in the crazy golf were really friendly guy's and at only £1 per person, it's well worth visiting. We went to the cafe for lunch and the staff there are also very helpful and friendly. Only 2 highchairs available that we could see but we managed to beg one off a lady who's child had finished eating and also passed ours on after we finished with it. We also visited the small funfair. Tokens only and each token cost £2.50. Only thing I don't agree with is that the parent on the rides with small children have to pay a token too. We will definitely be going back there.

Great place for a walk, plenty to do come along and try out the Low and High Ropes course. A few places to get food and drinks.. a couple of ice cream vans and a shop. Kids park and fairground rides at weekends and school holidays. Parkrun every Saturday good route on trails which can be muddy at times it’s down hill a loop then back up the hill.
Stan B — Google review
My two children, 11 and 8, and I, had a brilliant time here yesterday. It was a little disappointing to find there's quite extensive renovation works going on at both the hall and along the miniature railway, and this is the reason for the 4☆ review - not that we minded the work at all, it's clear this is in the best interest of the hall and the miniature railway, but that there's no mention on the website or Facebook page (which I checked prior to our visit) and also that we didn't know the path passing the swan pond to complete the 1 mile circuit was closed as there was no signage until we got there. It didn't make our day any less enjoyable, as we followed the path around past the victorian kennels ruins (a huge hit), then followed the canal back to the car park, but those paths weren't suitable for pushchairs or scooters so families with younger children would've had to turn back. Our 1 mile walk turned in to a lovely 3 mile trail, which we finished off with a picnic, a few fairground rides (all very quiet, I expect due to the rides costing £2.50 each), and an ice cream from the van (£10 for 3). We did head over to the playground, but we found the equipment a bit too busy for us so we went back to find their favourite tree and had a bit of a climb before we left. £3.50 for the car park all day is a bargain when compared to other similar locations, particularly as there is so much going on here for children. We spent 4.5 hours here in total, but could easily have stayed all day, and we look forward to returning when the miniature railway re-opens as the kids would've loved this. It would just be nice to know before you travel what closures are in place, so you can plan your day accordingly.

Haigh Hall and the surrounding plantations, AKA Haigh Woodland Park are a great place for a bit of R&R. The main path through the plantations is wide and and is surfaced with tarmac making it accessible for all. It's both dog and cycle friendly with several entrances that include access from Swinley, Whelley and Haigh. As of March 2025 the main hall, a listed stately home, is currently undergoing restoration however there are many other facilities in the immediate vicinity. These include a sprawling playground for the kids, high rope adventure, mini golf, a great little bar and numerous cafes and shops. There is also a large carpark close to the facilities for those who wish to arrive by car.
Dale T — Google review
Great place to take your family. CONS 1. The car park is pricey 2. The drinks at the outlet we stopped at were very pricey (£6 for a hot chocolate) PROS 1. Attractive extensive walks 2. Lots for children 3. Well laid out My advice ...bring a picnic.

Really god surface and family environment to enjoy a skating session. Lots of youngsters there so you do need to take care but that is no problem
Danny # — Google review
I had an excellent experience here today. My son thoroughly enjoyed his first roller skating lesson, and the entire team was welcoming and professional. In particular, Loraine deserves special recognition for her outstanding coaching and for taking the time to assist me with my skates as well. The pricing was very reasonable, both for the skating session and the food, which exceeded our expectations in terms of value. We look forward to returning next week. Thank you for providing such a well-organized and enjoyable experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was really nervous about attending on my own but the instructors in the skate lesson were fantastic, warm, welcoming & incredibly helpful. Ended up buying a new pair of skates, better suited for what i need at a fantastic sale price and I even stayed for the 2 hour roller disco after and had an amazing evening skating. Can't wait for my next lesson 😊

The most fun thing you can do on wheels. This place is like stepping back in time to a bygone era... Wigan Roller Rink is one of (if not the largest) indoor skating rinks in the UK. Located within an old mill workers dining hall the rink provides a party style atmosphere where you can skate and dance to club classics and party songs. The staff are so friendly and helpful assisting both adults and kids with their techniques so you can always get round the rink safely. The rink includes skate hire, a cafe, bar, and a shop so you have everything you need right there. This place just makes you feel good. Kids love the novelty of skating and adults like being kids again for a few hours.

We'll what a gem this place turned out to be... Despite the stoney and bumpy entrance to this place on part of an industrial unit it's a diamond in the rough. We went as part of a part package and or kids haven't skated before so this was going to be interesting. I'll be honest it first impression want great, but it's clean. That said the staff are amazing and attentive. The prices more than reasonable. The atmosphere is fantastic. I watched staff serve food and beers, others skated around with those rolling and falling, to which they we're always present when needed. They were just great. I couldn't fall to be impressed. It is what it is, it's great fun at great prices and I doubt you'll be anything less than impressed for the price! We'll done Wigan roller link

Building a little dated and the floor in the rink is a tad rough in places but not a bad place to go for some roller skating fun with the family. Really good size and staff are friendly and helpful if you need tips on how to skate
Phil — Google review
great price for a few hours of skating, skate hire is only like £1 on top of the regular price! great atmosphere and music, all levels of skaters (including complete beginners like myself) are welcome. plenty of parking. can’t speak to the quality of the food but people are there eating it so it mustn’t be bad 🤷🏼‍♀️ trying to go to the toilet in skates is a whole new kind of sport 😂 loads of parking so that’s not an issue either. can’t believe my mum didn’t even know this place existed!

Nestled in the secluded West Lancashire countryside, Fairy Glen is a picturesque natural wonder shaped by the Sprodley Brook's erosion of sandstone, creating rock walls, waterfalls, and cascades. The area is adorned with ancient broadleaf woodland featuring centuries-old oaks and ashes alongside younger birches and alders. The trails cater to various fitness levels, offering easy paths for families and more challenging routes for avid hikers.
Magical place to visit. Shame about the rubbish people leave behind. We filled 3 bag fulls on our walk but could easily picked up more if we had had the bags on us.

Really grateful for the walk!!
Joanna Z — Google review
A nice little forest with multiple tiered paths throughout the walk. Easy enough for the little ones and elderly and higher, more challenging paths for those more inclined to those. There's the option to extend your walk to the multiple routes in the area either through the fields or along the canal path. Very nice place for relatively short walks but the area can get muddy if the weather has been bad.

Drift league GB did not disappoint! And neither did three sisters! What a great venue, staff was bang on, the place is tidy and well looked after! The atmosphere was great! Walking around the pits talking to the drivers and teams was great! The Facilities are good! The Portaloos were the cleanest ones I've ever been in. The cafe was ok & so was the bar - there could be a better selection of drinks i guess but other than that what a great family day out! Well be back for sure!

Excellent experience from start to finish. The only let down was the prices for photo packages as always I believe if they were more reasonable people would buy them but 54 pounds for 2 videos and photos they had a buy one photo for 19.99 but that's not encouraging seemed extreme if all of those customers brought them there photographers daily rate was more than a lawyer 😉 😀 but it didn't effect our day whatsoever son had the best time and we will 100% be back
Sarah A — Google review
Came here for first time yesterday as was looking for something to do a little different . Came across a drifting day event so went over ...entry was £5 each and was a good day . Facilities are toilets bar and cafe ...food all looked good and reasonbly priced...would come again for sure . Only advice is bring your own camp chair or blanket ...people brought there own food and drink aswell if you are on a budget

Took my son to three sisters race circuit, you have to pay £2 parking on your way in, there is a bar for drinks and food, my son had 6 laps in the bat mobile but for some reason only had 3, so I went and spoke to the lovely lady who signed us in and she sorted and he got to do 3 laps in a subaru which he absolutely loved driving. Was very busy there. You get to get pictures and videos of your driving, not cheap but worth it, to keep as memories. Highly recommend.
Katrina V — Google review
Cracking track for the little 125s and well looked after . Nice little bar, pits n paddock area was a little cramped due to so many competitors for our event , too many none race vehicles wanting to park next to friends who were racing . We were hemmed in on all sides , could only just get the bike through to the track, there is actually plenty of parking for none race vehicles, it just needed some sort of control who parked where. Apart from that one niggle it was spot on .
Paul J — Google review
Felt a bit ripped off here, paid for 2 experiences for my daughter, and my 10 year old grandson. Done them before, but always had an option to buy the colision waiver, not here! You HAVE to buy it, or provide a credit card with a £5k limit on it. So adding to the cost of the 2 vouchers was a further £70+, then a further £10 for training. So bargain experiences, became an expensive one. They both enjoyed the well organised day and I'm glad I took my camera, to avoid the high cost of a momento. (Make sure you give the lanyards and memory card back, or there's a further £80 charge)
John H — Google review
I still love this place the Tuesday bike track evening are brilliant. Just turn up hoof round and smile. There are always a couple of good photographers around to make you look cool.
Marcus P — Google review
My son had the BEST time in n the police interceptor car. I'm really glad we got there earlier, because we were only number 3 in the queue, any later and we would have been there for much longer. It was chucking it down with rain and there is limited shelter to view the person driving, so I stood in the rain. We booked using a Virgin Experiences voucher, but on the day ended up spending at extra £71!! Make sure you save up before the day in expectation of this. Overall, he had a great time, but for 3 laps of a track, over £100 including our travel and ending up really soggy, I don't think it's worth it.

We had our wedding party here after getting married abroad. We absolutely loved it! The venue is gorgeous, lovely high ceilings a traditional backdrop for any event. Michelle who runs the old courts is a very friendly and welcoming host. We will definitely be using this venue again for any future parties!

Had a wonderful experience celebrating our daughter's 18 birthday party with extended family and friends at the Old Courts this weekend. Jo, Michelle and the team were all so obliging in helping us plan all the details in advance and make the event as special as we had hoped. Nothing was too much trouble. Guests kept commenting on how gorgeous the venue was and helpful and friendly the staff were. Especially enjoyed the additional quiet space of the judge's chambers and the lovely bar. Even the loos are nicely finished. Beautiful atmosphere- an unforgettable evening.

I recently hosted my 30th birthday party at The Old Courts in Wigan and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The venue is spacious, full of character, and has a lovely quirky charm that all my guests adored. The booking process was simple and stress-free, and the pricing was very reasonable. A special shoutout to Jo and Michelle—both were absolutely amazing and made everything run smoothly. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

Held my 40th Birthday Party at the old courts last week. Everyone commented on how beautiful the venue was. It has real atmosphere. Michelle the host was super attentive and helped me sort out a bar tab for first drinks and a cocktail for the night. It was all very laid back and easy to deal with them - no drama. I was particularly pleased when they cut the cake into pieces for me - not a job I was looking forward to. The whole team were fab, friendly and helpful. It is so cheap to hire too! I’d definitely recommend.

The most wonderful wedding venue, which offers a tailored and personalised wedding. Strongly recommended. The best choice for the wedding venue. The brilliant staff involved on the day of the wedding, Kristie, Nicola and Emily and Nikola did an extraordinary job. Additionally, a special personal thank you to Nikola and Michelle for their ongoing support, management, patience and professional help with any issues before the ceremony. Thank you so much for making this day special and memorable.

Visited the old courts for an engagement party. Absolutely stunning building! Such a lovely venue. The staff, all of them were amazing. So friendly and welcoming and helpful, especially Michelle and the bouncer lady that was on the door and the lady that was cleaning up at the end, but I didn’t get their names. Service was efficient and the buffet area was great too. The lighting and the sound system was good. it has made me think that the next time I have a party that requires a function I will definitely book it myself! Great place , an asset to Wigan x

Thank you to Dani from Rock and Soul events for making the venue look magical and thank you to the amazing Zha Olu for singing and getting the vibe going. We would definitely recommend The Old Courts to anyone looking for a venue for their wedding!

Quite sad these days with markses, H&m, Next, TopShop, Debenhams all gone. Still has new look, Clarks, Superdrug, Waterstones. For now! Even the Costa has shut. Still, it's the nearest Waterstones and the muffin break is good for a cuppa. I park here if I am going to the primark, also our nearest. Frankly if the shops mentioned opened in robin park I'd never go into wigan centre at all.

Located in Wigan, Robin Retail Park offers a wide range of shopping options, including clothing stores, pet shops, tech outlets, fast food joints, and even a travel agency. The park features ample parking space but navigating through the traffic can be challenging at times. Visitors can find popular stores like Pets At Home, Smyths, JD Sports as well as various cafes and restaurants. Accessible facilities such as ramps and designated parking spaces for disabled individuals are available.
Great shopping venue but the roads are horrendous. It would make the experience so much better if the numerous traffic lights and road management was better planned
Gary D — Google review
Beware. Only 180 mins allowed for parking. They have cameras monitoring and you get £100 fine if you go over 180 mins. Ridiculous considering there are numerous shops and restaurants etc. Why on earth would you limit parking to 180 minutes when people are likely going to be longer when shopping/having food etc. Most expensive few hours out I've had in Wigan!
Kelsey D — Google review
Good selection of shops and food outlets . Just watch it can get busy and there are less spaces then you think. Lots of junctions so may need to be patient parking etc.
Lewis F — Google review
Shops are good but the parking is awful and complicated getting around the car park. Whoever designed the parking needs more training
Sylvia W — Google review
Ok place if you are really bored. Not a lot of good shops. No bakery with nice cakes or desserts, no Zara shop, no H&M etc. Literally few shops ans nothing interesting.
Asia K — Google review
Good selection of shops but the car parking and road lay out is shocking. Think whoever designed it was drunk or they copied it from a 3 year old
Andy L — Google review
Fairly large retail park with Asda, Boots, Pets at Home, TK Maxx, Superdrug etc. Proximity to rugby / football ground means traffic can be a nightmare on match days.

Velocity Trampoline Park offers a thrilling experience with over 160 interconnected trampolines, perfect for bouncing and practicing flips. It's an ideal destination for active families and children over 4 years old. The free jump zone alone features more than 90 trampolines, while the park also boasts a stunt jump foam pit and a slam dunk basketball court. Visitors praise the helpful and friendly staff who prioritize safety, ensuring a secure environment for all guests.
First thing to mention is the kind and helpful staff who gave great customer service tonight! My son had a great time using the trampoline facilities with his friend - it was too busy so managed to grab a table! Didn't try the food other than the kids getting drink and snacks, reasonably priced! Climbing walls look great fun but separate pricing ,so have yet to try! Great time thank you!

Lovely professional, friendly staff esp young Jake. Shame about the food- ran out of fries so my daughter couldn’t have a children’s meal & ordered a salt and pepper chicken wrap- to be told as soon as I’d paid- there will be no peppers on it. Could have informed me before I paid- would have chosen something else.

We recently had my daughter’s birthday party at Velocity Wigan Trampoline Park. We originally booked the Clip & Climb and Trampolining package, but around 3–4 weeks before the party I received a call explaining that the Clip & Climb section was closed due to a part issue. The staff were polite and apologetic on the phone, but nothing was offered as a goodwill gesture, even something small like a free slushie for the kids would have been appreciated. Had I known about the closure earlier, I would have booked a trampoline park closer to home, but by that point it was too late to make other arrangements. On the day, our party host was absolutely lovely, very friendly, helpful, and organised. She made sure the party room was beautifully set up, handled the cake, and even served it to the children. However, when we spoke, she mentioned that the Clip & Climb area had actually been closed all summer due to an accident, which made me question why I was able to book the Clip & Climb package at the end of summer in the first place if it had already been out of use for so long. That was quite disappointing to hear and felt misleading. The party room itself was great, decorated nicely, and the food was fantastic, plenty of pizza, chicken nuggets, chips, donuts, ice lollies, and drinks. There was more than enough to go around, and the kids really enjoyed it. However, I did find the main trampoline area extremely overcrowded, which made supervision difficult. While I was walking around keeping an eye on the children from our party, a few incidents occurred, one child from another group punched a girl from our party in the stomach (very well raised boys of course), and another boy repeatedly jumped on the same trampoline as my daughter, which ended up hurting her foot (all from the same party as well). None of this was seen by staff (understandably, as it was very busy), but we did report it and the staff spoke to the boys involved and of course their parents were no where in sight. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to make much difference, and the rough play continued so then I had to try keep the children at my party all together to keep them safe and continue to tell off these boys. Despite these issues, my daughter and her friends still had a great time overall. The venue itself is fun and well-equipped, but the overcrowding, lack of proper supervision, and the misleading information about the Clip & Climb closure definitely took away from the experience. It’s a shame, because with a little more attention to safety and honesty with customers, it could have been a brilliant party.

My daughter had her 3rd birthday party here. Can’t say thank you enough to Ian who made the whole experience completely stress free! She loved it, and all her friends did too! I do have to say though the manager did upset 2 of the parents of the children, just being a complete jobs worth. Apart from her, everything was perfect! Thank you Ian and to the lovely girls who set up her room, you did it perfectly, sorry I didn’t catch your names.

We had such an amazing time at Velocity in Wigan for our kids' party! 🎉 Ben, our party host, was absolutely brilliant – super friendly, helpful, and just really understood what we needed to make the day go smoothly. All the kids (and parents!) loved it. Also want to give a big shout-out to the bartender upstairs ( Sunday 13th of July) – I didn’t catch his name, but he was fantastic! So lovely, really went the extra mile, and made everyone feel looked after. The place was spotlessly clean, and loads of guests commented on how nice everything was. We’re already planning to come back for the mega party next year! And a huge thank you to the whole team for being so supportive and helpful with some unexpected circumstances we had. Your kindness and flexibility meant a lot to us – we really, really appreciate it! 💛

Came here today my child (adhd ) nearly got out of the fire escape as I couldn’t get to her in time I was running to catch her. the staff was sat around chatting to each other not even moving not watching these kids if my child would have escaped and injured I would have taken legal action absolutely appalling. Won’t be returning if it’s the last trampoline park open in the country matches other reviews I’ve seen even when you call to book the staff are rude

Football club
Wigan Athletic FC is a notable football club that offers an engaging experience for fans and visitors alike. Nestled in the heart of Wigan, this stadium is easily accessible with ample parking options. While the atmosphere can sometimes feel less vibrant due to lower home attendance, it still boasts friendly staff and affordable drinks at the Marquee bar for away supporters. Although some facilities may need improvement, such as toilet conditions and food quality, many find their visit enjoyable overall.
Had an incredible first experience watching the Latics. Arrived early as not sure what time to arrive, by some 40 minutes, parking a breeze followed by a short walk to the stadium. Greeted and assisted by staff. The essential pie purchase, was extremely hot and a bit dry for my liking. The family end behind the goal was relatively subdued, compared to the Mansfield supporters who roared in comparison to the mouse-like efforts of the Wiganers. Despite a 2-1 unfortunate defeat the exit and departure from the stadium and carpark was effortless and efficient. My kids raved about this experience and we will have to return. Admittedly this was one of the most exhilarating matches I can recall and my daughter said the ladies toilets were really clean, so a definite winner. Well done to all at the Brick Stadium!
Nick O — Google review
Great stadium to visit but was half empty of home supporters when I visited. Toilet facilities were horrendous with each toilet in the cubicles full of toxic waste and the pies were inedible and cold. Berr was expensive with not much choice. Stewards got a bit full on a 16yr boy who climbed 8ft into an old tv stand in high spirits with the stewards grabbing him by the neck and one twisting his wrist too hard, could have hurt the kid but luckily he was OK and the police let him bk in again...common sense prevailed. All in all a nice stadium and a 2-0 win sent us away fans happy, one to tick off the list but don't expect any atmosphere from the home fans.

The home of two teams the Wigan warriors giants in super league even though they did a Man City but money does attract the best players so some time breaking the salary cap was ok for the big guns but still in awe of the Andy Farrell s the Brian nobles. The Stuart fieldens .

As an adopted Wiganer, I've been following the TICs for approx. 10 years and I always really enjoy a day out at the DW stadium (especially when we win, of course!) . The club is very active in the local community and there is always a great pre-match family atmosphere in and around the stadium. . The club is conveniently located on a purpose built site close to Wigan town centre and next to Wigan's main retail park, Robin park. The stadium is really accessible and there are over 2000 carparking spaces on site costing only £5 on match days, which is exceptionally good value for money. . The onsite match catering is by far one of the best around and the Clayton Park pies are worth £4. Really good quality and an essential at halftime. The facilities are very clean and there are plenty of WC facilities available in each stand. . The stadium shop is specifically for Latics merch and prices are very reasonable. . Home or Away fans are guaranteed a welcoming visit to the TICs and the best pie in town.

Visited Wigan Athletic Fc with Fulham in the 4th round of the FA Cup. On arrival, we visited the Marquee bar.. a bar for away fans. We found the staff friendly and the drinks very cheap compared to London. Lots of seating. The ground itself is nice, although it's looking a bit tired now. Half time was a free for all with no queuing system.. which was a pain. The prices in the ground were significantly higher. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Good day out.

Away trip with Exeter, it's a nice stadium not too bad prices for food and drink. I had a steak pie and it was amazing I believe they are from a local bakery. Good location for food and pubs around the ground. Staff and home supporters where friendly.

Viridor Wood is a delightful woodland escape that offers a serene trail perfect for nature lovers and families alike. As you meander through its gentle paths, keep your eyes peeled for enchanting fairy houses and the diverse wildlife that calls this place home, including various bird species like the willow tit and great spotted woodpecker. The well-maintained trails are accessible for prams and wheelchairs, making it an ideal spot for everyone to enjoy a leisurely stroll or an invigorating dog walk.
Excellent short walk set amongst a small wood. From accessible paths for prams and wheel chairs users, with only very slight inclines. You follow the path which completes a full rough circle. We enjoyed spotting the hedgehog houses in the woody section. Excellent dog walk or a walk to get your children outside for a hour.

Great place to walk the dog. Easy access and parking. Usually not too busy depending on the time of day. Lots of grass land that is maintained throughout the year. Plenty benches too. Only thing that is missing are any bins for doggie bags 👍

I love walking with my dogs and grandchildren around this place. I like picking blackberries to make Bramble jelly 😋 There are plenty along the walk also there are 2 apple trees (I won't say where as its part of the fun finding them) but they are not situated together which are just ready to pick in September.

We came for the fast food joints (pictured). We sampled every restaurant and were generally satisfied with the service, save for an unpleasant experience in Subway in which an angry crow had to be escorted from the premises. Some sort of disagreement surrounding corvid 19 restrictions, I think.

Lived near here all my life and love it, great place for dog walking or just going for a peaceful walk in the summer is nice too. Mega place for young kids, parking is limited and it's a shame it's stamped as a purely locals area, get it but, it's so so good for kids, lots of glitter in tree trunks, coins bashed in trees, at least one fairy door if you look hard enough(very tempted to discreetly add a couple more). Go with respect and leave no trace and this is a pleasant walk with a babbling stream and a few waterfalls. Lots or really nice interactions with other walkers, yake some wellies for kids and let them be a little mucky and wet it's well worth it
Stu W — Google review
I visited the area with family a few weekends ago with the plan of a nice family walk and talk get-together. This is a lovely walk. Not suitable for tots or buggies. I normally prefer a loop walk but this was lovely. There is plenty of shade and cover from the elements of needed to keep you cool and dry. A few post fences to step over, includes forest, open fields and river sections with a turning point in a quaint spot for some refreshments and a comfort break. Whole walk takes about 2 hours at a steady comfortable pace.
Alison M — Google review
Beautiful woodland walk around a shallow stream with hobbit style bridges and little waterfalls. There's a couple of benches to take a rest on but not advisable for either wheelchairs or people with mobility issues as there are several sets of steps and the ground can become quite boggy. We walked the dog and it's best on a weekday and in term time.
Dave M — Google review
Visited fairy glen today. It was OK. But slightly disappointed especially hearing about it by others over the last few years how great it is. I've been to better places. It's just a woodland area situated in Parbold wigan with a few small waterfalls. Surrounded by residental area, fields and a busy A road. I parked on Stoneygate lane to gain access to fairy glen. Be careful as you park. I had a local resident leave a polite note on my car that I was to parked over on the Footpath. I disagree. But hey ho! Life is life. I won't be going again. It's a nice shaded place to take dogs on walks and also for little children to explore and have a splash in the running waters there. Lots of steep steps to walk up and down and uneven ground. So if not good on your feet be careful. There are a few memory benches situated around the Glenn that visitors can sit off on.

Twas good. Trees and stuff. Whimsical woodland paths with wooden bridges and some small waterfalls and streams running through with some interesting features and fairy dust. No specific parking we could find apart from in a nearby lay by next to the coffee and cake van. Probably wouldn't be great if you have accessibility needs due to steps throughout. Pathways have access to fields throughout and has a few entrance points so still maybe worth a try even if you do have accessibility needs. No public toilets or other facilities as far as I could tell. Our dog had a good time
