Saas-Grund, located in the picturesque district of Visp in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, is a charming municipality nestled to the east of Lenzspitze and Dom. This area is part of the stunning Saas valley resorts, which also include Saas Almagell. While these two resorts are not directly connected by ski lifts, visitors can access both with a single ski pass and convenient regional Post Bus shuttles.

Längfluh is a stunning area in the Saas Fee region, offering long runs by the glaciers and a chance to relax at the Längfluh restaurant terrace overlooking the glacier. The area features gentle linking slopes between Längfluh and Felskinn, where visitors can enjoy skiing on wonderful glacier snow. For more adventurous intermediates, there are steeper reds in the Langfluh, Spielboden, and Plattjen sectors.
Always wonderful to come back here : Winter or Summer! For me it's the nearest place from where to best view the Fee Glacier. Additionally there's a very good restaurant/bar aswell (the furthest of the two)! Picts taken 18.04.23

Very nice easy hike even for those like us, overweight and untrained. We reached the small lake and enjoyed the peace and fresh air. I have seen an uncautious guy swim in the freezing water, please don't do that.
Davide M — Google review
In winter, it's your average ski lift station probably. In the summer however, one of the most easily accessible places to observe a glacier up close.
Péter V — Google review
Great place to visit for the views! We came early in the summer season so it was rather quiet but we enjoyed it. The glacier is spectacular, though sadly melting…

Hannig, located in Saas Fee, offers a breathtaking experience with its gondola ride and challenging yet rewarding hike to the ridge. The panoramic views of three glaciers make the climb worth it. Visitors can also enjoy tobogganing and take in the stunning Alpine panorama before sledding back to Saas Fee.
Very beautifal view place!:) Situated at 2350 meters above sea level there is a good restaurant and there are many possibilities voor hiking and biking. You will see Saas Almagell, Saas Fee and the famous glaciers above Saas Fee.(2018) Update 2022. The Hannigbahn will be rebould in summer of 2023 and opened in december 2023. So this time we take the cable car for the last time. We are looking forward for the brand new cable car.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful place for a drink and a bite to eat, but especially for hiking. The western path to Saas Fee or the Hütte is fantastic in summer, with its natural beauty and tranquility. You cross a stream twice (or four times), allowing the sound of the water in the valley to reappear and fade away.

I have visited many places all over the world throughout my life - and yes, been here before a few times - but this must definitely be the most stunning place and mountain scenery I've seen in my whole life!! It leaves me speachless, breathless and makes me feel so utterly peaceful up there ❤️❤️ Sooo stunning!

Superb viewpoint over the surrounding glaciers and the Alps. Mittelallalin has a revolving restaurant and can be accessed year round with cable car and underground metro for the last part. In winter it is the highest point of the ski resort. Alpinist and ski tourers start here the ascent of the Allalin at 4027m.

I am Dolly from Singapore. I had visited this Allalin IceCave in the late 19th century 1995 or 1998? in the summer. We stayed in Saas Fee for 😀❤️🌿💕🌷🍀💞 3 days. It was a very special, interesting experience. Very beautiful Cave. I seen a lady fell with low heel shoes and sustained no injury. There were ice on the floor, a good walking shoe is necessary. Suddenly, a very nice man come to inform me that we must leave the place that there will be strong wind. We left the IceCave immediately. He was very kind to help me to carry all my baggages. My belated great APPRECIATION and LOVE to him. Hope he is HAPPY and in GOOD HEALTH. Hope to meet him when I visit the Allalin pavillion. I wish to visit the Allalin soon. Wonderful, beautiful Swiss folks. Thank you for all the WONDERFUL engineers, Architecturers, designers......... BEAUTIFUL PEOPLES! ALLALIN, A MASTER PIECE ON EARTH!😀❤️🌺🌿💕🍀🌷💞

It was the highlight of our ski vacation from March 16th to March 23rd, 2024. Even skiing was no longer a match! However, you should be sporty for the tour and not be afraid of heights, as you will be traveling quite high at times. Carlo accompanied us brilliantly, explained everything well for the kids and gave us an unforgettable experience. Thank you and see you next time. The mountain guides really let off steam here when they set up all the shenanigans. Be it the Tyroliennes, the suspension bridges, the pendulum or lowering yourself from the bridge into the depths. Definitely do it. Possible for children from 1.30m, no previous experience necessary. Can be done both in winter and summer. (Original) Was für ein Erlebnis! Been here before, however during Summer time and it's such a beautilf place to visit with stunning views of the mountains! Last week I visited on a sunny day and spent several hours sitting on the terrace deck (on the ground) enjoying the sun, views, skiers, snow & mountains and of course some drinks & fries 🍟🍺⛰️ It was LOVELY! :) Will return end of August ❤️

Excellent cafeteria food. Fast fresh and tasty. Often busy, small wait for a table. Excellent fresh salad buffet. Great cake and coffee. Delicious fresh cook to order pizza. Great rotisserie chicken and chips.

Decent place on the skislopes for a nice lunch. Not very cheap, but that is common for the whole Switzerland. Food tastes okay, but there are limited (read: no) vegetarian dishes.

Good food, well located at a stop of the Alpin Express. Can be busy, but there are lots of tables. Food is relatively expensive for what you get.
George R — Google review
I only tried the salad buffet, but wow, what a surprise! I’ve been to many ski resorts, and I’ve never seen such a massive and diverse salad buffet (normally most stuff from salad buffets in mountain restaurants is canned food, like canned cabbage, beans etc.) but this one was different. There was an impressive selection of salads (and even sashimi fish), and so many other options to choose from. Honestly, it was probably the biggest salad buffet I’ve ever come across—and it was really good! I can’t comment on the other dishes since I didn’t try them, but I noticed a lot of comfort food options like fries with chicken nuggets or sausages. However, for a ski resort restaurant, the variety of salads they offer is fantastic. If you’re a fan of salads or looking for a fresh and healthier option, this place is definitely worth a stop. Highly recommend the salad buffet! 🥗 100 gramm costs 4.50 CHF, which is of course not cheap, but for the chicken niggets with fries you also pay 24.-

Really beautiful location that feels more authentically Swiss! We hiked the Jegihorn via ferrata and loved the scenery! The cable car staff are extremely kind and generous. It is clear they love the area! Definitely recommend all the recreation this amazing spot has to offer!
Avery S — Google review
The ride up from Kreuzboden Gondelstation (reached by Gondelbahn Saas-Grund - Kreuzboden in Saas-Grund Dorf) to Hohsaas is quite impressive, with the landscape morphing from lush green pastures into barren, lifeless ridges. Still, once you step outside the cable-car, the scene is breathtakingly beautiful, with snow covered walls on one side and rocky terrain on the other side. No need to take your water flask with you, as melted snow see to it that there is a constant flow of fresh, sweet and cool drinking water. For the more adventurous type, there are a variety of routes that will reveal even more picturesque panoramas. For these you will need to come prepared with climbing gear, warm clothing and hot water flask...

11The Ski Academy - Saas Fee

Ski school

Ski resort
The Ski Academy in Saas Fee offers an exceptional training experience for aspiring skiers, particularly through its collaboration with skilled coach Loz. With a focus on personalized instruction, Loz has guided many students from BASI level 2 to the ISIA (level 3) standard, showcasing his extensive knowledge of skiing and sports science. His teaching style is engaging and clear, making complex concepts accessible to all learners. The supportive environment he fosters encourages skill development while keeping motivation high.
After I received my BASI Level 2, I joined the ISIA training course with Loz and it was the best decision I have ever made. Loz took my basic skills and taught me so much more about skiing. His ability, combined with his passion and way of communicating, led to a dramatic improvement in my skiing. I honestly couldn’t recommend Loz enough - truly fantastic course, instructor and bloke!
Luke S — Google review
Excellent. Loz trained me on a Gap course for my BASI Level 1 & 2, and then again, the following winter on an ISIA course for my BASI Level 3. He was an amazing teacher, whose preparation made the BASI exams easy. He tells you exactly what you need to do to improve, and has made all areas of my skiing miles better. As well as improving my skiing he made me a good instructor as he is a vastly experienced instructor who genuinely cares about you succeeding. Loz is a great bloke and I cannot recommend TSA highly enough!
Ian R — Google review
I trained with Loz prior to TSA being established, over the 2017/18 winter season, based in Saas- Fee. At that time I had made the move from a background primarily focused on racing to the world of instructing. This was a difficult move as instructing tended to encapsulate a far wider variety of skills within the sport itself. I found Loz to be the perfect mentor when developing my skills as an instructor. With an extensive history within teaching, Loz was able to develop my skiing dramatically within a single season. I began training with Loz's ISIA program in December 2017 and by April 2018 I had made significant improvements in all aspects of my skiing. I could not more highly recommend TSA!
Euan H — Google review
I have been training with Loz over the last couple of years or so. Not only is he a great and a kind guy full of energy, he is also a superb trainer with tons of patience and is very supportive. He knows how to get the best out of you and keep on motivating you and knows how to give you the exact kind of drills/exercises etc. that will increase (also challenge you) your skill level and see real improvement. Thoroughly enjoyed training with him! (Heidi)
Hayat B — Google review
I did the ISIA training course with Loz. I was blown away by how great a teacher he was! He has a huge passion for the sport and that really shone through. Loz delivered a course which was tailored to my individual needs. My ability and knowledge of skiing improved dramatically. Overall an absolutely brilliant course!
Peter F — Google review
Had Loz as a trainer for my gap course this year. Easily the best and most experienced trainer that I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to elevate their skiing to the next level
Lewis W — Google review
I trained with Loz through the winter seasons from 2016 to 2019 which encapsulated me training towards and passing my BASI level 2 and then going on to train towards the standard required for ISIA (level 3) Loz is an excellent ski coach and conversations with him reveal the depth and breadth of his knowledge of skiing and the sports science that goes with it. He is however always able to put these points across in clear language which allow the audience to understand the core message. Across the years that i ski’d with Loz my skiing, and understanding of skiing, improved hugely and I would recommend him to anyone looking to Improve for any reason.
Mike C — Google review
I’ve been training with Loz over a couple of years now every time I go to Saas on vacation and he’s not only super nice and fun to be around, he helped me advance my skills a lot. Only ever had great experiences with him as a a trainer, it’s always the right balance of feeling safe and comfortable and challenged at the same time. Skiers can choose to cruise through gentle blue trails, tackle steep black pitches, or follow an itinerary route through the trees. The location also provides stunning panoramic views of Saas Grund and the surrounding Alps, making it a beautiful spot for sightseeing and leisurely walks despite occasional windy conditions at the top.
It was windy on the top but I did enjoy the beauty of the Alps 😍

Looooooong waiting times. We had to wait for two hours and then got cold and half cooked food. Recomend to go to other restaurants nearby.

We had two private lessons with Chris. First, Ski Zenit was able to accommodate our selected time slots. That really helps our schedule. Chris was down to earth and personable. He identified our needs and improved our skills with targeted exercises. He made the learning enjoyable and rewarding. I will definitely recommend him as a ski instructor.

I wanted my son to brush up on his skiing this August after his travel baseball season ended in July. He played football last school year but decided to join the high school ski team this winter. Since he hadn't skied very often the last couple seasons I contacted Ski Zenit and asked if they could help him shake off the rust. Since this is a camp for experienced ski racers we opted for a 5 day private lesson on the Saas Fee glacier. Rich was my Ski Zenit contact and he couldn't have been more accomodating. He planned our transportation from Geneva and laid out everything we would need to be prepared and make this excursion a success. My son's ski instructor, Chris, sent us daily videos and kept us informed of his progress. He improved dramatically over the week and we couldn't be happier with his progress. Way to go Ski Zenit!

Had a great experience taking lessons with Chris! He taught us so much in two days; I felt much more confident after just our first lesson. Chris was able to tailor the lessons very well to everyone’s skill level, and took us to a variety of terrains where we practiced and improved on various techniques. I would 10/10 recommend Chris and Ski Zenit if you want to improve your skiing and have fun doing it!

Amazing lesson- my first time to take private lessons. Finally after years of trying to learn I feel more confident! My instructor, Max, was fantastic! Patient and great company. He made it look so easy. The staff had excellent communications before we arrived as well. Highly recommended.

I had an incredible experience with Ski Zenit! After 28 years away from skiing, I decided to book a private lesson, and I was lucky enough to have Chris as my instructor. His teaching approach was clear, patient, and highly effective. In just one session (2.5h), he taught me the essential skills I needed to move forward confidently. Chris made everything easy to understand and apply, and his encouragement was incredibly motivating. I can't recommend Ski Zenit and Chris enough – if you're looking to improve or get back into skiing, this is the place to start!

I had an amazing experience with Max as my ski instructor! He was incredibly patient and kind throughout the lesson, always encouraging me and making me feel comfortable. Max helped me regain my confidence on the slopes, and thanks to his expert guidance, I managed to conquer an icy red slope without fear. I couldn't have done it without him! Highly recommend Max to anyone looking to improve their skiing skills or just enjoy their time on the slopes. Thank you, Max!

We booked the trainer Ellen for 1 week. We had so much fun and where able to ski on the first day. Ellen is quit and very professional. We had really a great time. The video shows Ellen and our daughter. We will definitely come back to Zenit School and hopefully Ellen. Kind regards, Marco, Daniela and Anna.

We had a fantastic experience with Zenit. Our instructor Tim was brilliant, super patient, fun and helpful. The children said he’s the best instructor they’ve ever had, and they have both made huge progress. The whole team at Zenit were so and accommodating. I highly recommend this company - 5 stars!

If you're looking for an unforgettable skiing experience, look no further than Eskimos Sports. This ski school offers personalized lessons that cater to all skill levels, ensuring everyone has a blast while learning. Instructors like Mat and Darsey are known for their patience and expertise, guiding students through essential techniques without ever feeling rushed. Whether it's pushing more confident skiers to refine their skills or gently encouraging nervous beginners to overcome their fears, the instructors at Eskimos Sports create a supportive environment where fun meets learning.
Our kids had private and semi private lessons with Eskimo ski school. They both learnt a lot and had fun, the two things we look for most. Matteo really pushed our daughter, the more experienced and confident of the two, showing her new techniques. Our son, who was more nervous was taken patiently by Asbjörn, he overcame his nerves and really progressed, coming away much more confident and looking forward to skiing again. We felt that they fitted the instructors well to our kids needs and that the instructors gave them both the teaching that they needed.

This was my first time skiing for me and my daughter. Our instructor Asbjorn was very patient and friendly. But above all he gave us confidence, so we improved rapidly and made us even doing a short red piste being completely in control.

Great experience with the booking and ski instruction too. Ash was really considerate but pushed me to realise my potential. I really did learn from Ash and put this into practice while skiing with the family and friends in the afternoon. With best wishes, Yvonne

Thank you so much Darsey, our top professor.. Very much accommodating, always wears a smile though I’m doing some errors. She never gets tired of giving me some tips on how to ski well…etc etc… Very well recommended… for the first timers or even people who wants to learn more… she’s the best instructor you will ever have.. Bravo Darsey 👍👏

My son and I had an awesome private ski lesson from Mat. He was super courteous, patience, competent instructor. He let us have our own pace (never pushy) yet taught us all the basic principles and forms as well as important tips such as you never look down or look at your skies when skiing. He made sure we got our forms down correctly and challenged us to improve our forms. He made our time so worthwhile and fun. By the end of the session, we both felt confident and highly satisfied with our day. I highly recommend him for your ski lessons! Thank you so much Mat!

Everyone at the Saas-Fee ski school is extremely nice and supportive. They really try their best to make sure everyone has a nice time. They were also very accommodating in refunding lessons that didn’t work out with our little one. We’re definitely returning to them next time.

I had the absolute pleasure of learning to ski with Juan, and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. As a complete beginner, I was nervous, but from the very first lesson, he made me feel at ease. His ability to read us like an open book—knowing exactly when we were stressed, scared, or unsure—was incredible. Juan adapted his teaching style perfectly to our needs, offering the right balance of encouragement, patience, and technical guidance. He never rushed us but also knew when to push just enough to help us improve. His calm and reassuring presence made such a difference, and by the end of our lessons, I felt much more confident on the slopes than I ever expected and most of all, he helped me conquer my fear! If you’re a beginner (or even beyond) looking for an instructor who truly cares about your experience and progress, I can’t recommend Juan highly enough. Thank you for making our ski trip so memorable!

Used several times of the years. A really nice school and the official Swiss one. Very friendly and helpful. Eunice taught our 8yr old son and was amazing. Had one instructor that wasn’t so great for a private adult lesson / seemed disinterested and didn’t learn anything. I just put that down to bad luck but there are also other good schools to try.

Saas fee ski school was absolutely incredible . From booking and answering our questions to the INCREDIBLE instructor Dario who helped make my daughter’s entire holiday. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his job and it shows. It was a true joy to watch our daughter not only learn to ski but to fall in love with it. We cannot wait to come back.
Pippa D — Google review
Had several private lessons with Aran who was great. Twice we had trainees join us which was great as it meant a little bit more supervision. Correspondence by email before we booked was great too.

I got snowboard group lessons from this school in this year. That is why, I visited Saas - Fee and came from Dublin/Ireland. I got level 1 in Avoriaz - France last year and wanted to get level 2 - 3 in Saas - Fee / Switzerland. I bought level 3 but lessons were over of my level. I should have bought level 2. Slopes are too sharp in Switzerland. I had hard time while I tried to do U - Turns on sharp slopes. I decided to reduce my level to level 2 from level 3 on last day. I worked with two different instructors during trainings. Second instructor attitude was very nice but I won’t be able to say that first instructor attitude was nice. I sometimes got stubborn answer. Such as: - You heard what did I say! Please respect! I fell in T - Bar Lift twice, they waited me, I requested to rest 2 minute: - I can not wait anymore! I waited long enough! - You should be able to use T - Bar Lift! You go to subgroup tomorrow etc. In addition, before they gave the certificate, they asked me will I come again or not! Probably, cerficate book quantity was not enough and they gave the certificate book which was left for someone else instead of him/her! Furthermore, they should separate the group lessons according to their ages. Adult groups should be different from the kids. They could create adult groups, separately. My experience was not so bad but not good as well! It was not like training that I got in Avoiraz! Res
