Restaurant
In March 2023, Lotti am Südstrand will welcome visitors to its location on a pile dwelling in a Kurstrand area. Accessible by free local bus or a walk from the village's dike crossing, this spot offers an unrestricted view of the beach and is popular for kite surfing. Guests can choose to sit indoors or outside on the terrace, but should dress warmly if opting for the latter. The restaurant exudes a cozy atmosphere and offers a small yet delicious menu.
This place is located in a Kurstrand area so you need to pay one time 2€ tourist tax but able to access all other beaches around the area after that. You can reach this area either by bus which comes every hour, cycling or walking. It is a pleasant location with unristricted view of beach. You can watch some kite surfer surfing around the area. There is 2 option, either sit outside at the terrace or indoor in the warmth. Wear something proper if you plan to sit outside in the cold. The service here is fast. The burger is tasty, i dont know what sauce they use in it but it is tasty. The fish and chips are normal. You are paying for the location, so the price is higher than elsewhere. Alot of family comes here. Dog friendly. Not suitable for people who have difficulties climbing up the stairs.

Such a nice experience. Great view, good service and tasty food. Absolutely worth a stay.
Andre N — Google review
The best thing there is the view. Food is average but prices/size are twice as high comparing to the other restaurants in the area. ( 19.9 eur for a small fish and chips when you can get bigger and tastier one for 9.9) The service was unfriendly and slow.
Ewa T — Google review
Not impressed at all. Sure, the location (read: absolutely nothing else nearby so no competition) is sort of special (except when you consider other beach restaurants in SPO). It is a beautiful spot though, so just being there earns some points. As to the food, it‘s average. We took the fish&chips with beer, following some of the advice. Now beer (Lotti blonde) gets my full marks, no doubt. Fish… not. Basically lots of fries (McD style) plus a few fish nuggets for mere €19.50. You do get more and better for half that price in town! We also had some potato pancakes with apple mousse for the little one and I had a rather nasty feeling those were pre-packaged industrial stuff. Priced, well, hefty. Service too was average at best and probably only as we are generally quite low maintenance when it comes to that. All in all, if you want just to sit in a beach bar and have a drink or a few, it‘s probably fine but to eat anything reasonable, head straight to town.
Piotr M — Google review
Wonderful terrace and the inside of the restaurant is cool as well. Very tasty Spargelkarte, and the other traditional northern German dishes can be recommended as well.
Håkon B — Google review
Ridiculous is the only word I can think about this restaurant. It’s extreme windy on the terrace, and I don’t understand why they couldn’t install a higher shields. The food got cold in 2 minutes. The food choice is also very strange. There are just average German menu, nothing special. Charging 16 eur for a curry wurst? Just a plain curry wurst? It’s a joke really. For these prices they could at least have some heaters on the terrace installed to get some minimum comfort. But you should sit on a hard bench, in a cold and windy weather and spend 50 eur for two curry wursts and two drinks? The service and the location was the only positive. But would never ever come back to this restaurant, as there are no conditions for guests created, while charging crazy prices for a very average food. Btw, note that they do not serve any food from 16:30-17:30. And if you come by car, you should walk approx 800m from the parking lot.
Anna — Google review
Perfect location, friendly and helpful service. They offer a GF / vegan option on the menu. But nice to just pop in for a drink, especially close to sun set for a sundowner.

Auntie Clara in St. Peter-Ording is a cozy living room where good food and community are at the heart of the experience. Inspired by global travels, Auntie Clara offers a culinary oasis full of comfort and flavor. The open kitchen adds a nice touch to the urban landmark, offering Mediterranean cuisine with creative twists and family-style sharing concepts. The tasting menu is highly recommended, allowing guests to savor various dishes.
We were in Sankt Peter Ording and this restaurant was definitely one of the best we visited. In one week we had dinner there twice because it was so good. The restaurant is located spaciously in a hotel, but nevertheless a pleasant, cozy atmosphere arises. The staff is professional, you can see the chefs at work and sometimes even a celebrity. Gladly again, Auntie Clara.

Was such a great experience. Excellent concept of well tasting international food, great atmosphere w open kitchen and super friendly staff. Staff was super busy this Saturday night but kept their cool. We were some tables waiting for starters for quite some time while another table, arriving later, got food before us. Must have been a mistake. Some missing service on the table and long waiting time for some stuff, but the staff did what they could. Prices are fair for the quality. A bit noisy place, but not too much. A very cool lounge and bar area just next to the restaurant, as part of the hotel, where a free concert took place. A must visit in SPO.
Patrick J — Google review
Amazing food. Also many delicious vegetarian options. Must try: the cauliflower dish, chicken masala and the sheep cheese salad with cucumber.
F Z — Google review
Yes - it hits all the high marks. Interior, staff, menu, food, story telling. We very much liked all of it, a sureshot place to go, savory food and nice wine pairing options. Pricing is appropriate. Open kitchen adds a nice touch and I always admire when the chefs cannot shout and swear as they are public. In a rural surrounding like SPO this place stands out as an urban landmark. Go and glow!
Bastian S — Google review
Best food we had here. A nice break from all the tourists traps
Bogdan O — Google review
Soul food journey experience was interesting, they served starters and small bites that weren’t on the menu. Service was good and the ambient was relaxing. The meat dish we had was alright, the seasoning could be a bit stronger (note: not saltier, but with more spices), the rest were good. Drinks were standard, wines (house wine and Riesling, both described to be dry wines) tasted a little watery… Would come back and probably order some a la carte items so I know what to be expected.
M — Google review
The food was great with many creative twists. The 3 course meal for two is a nice option where you can taste many different types of food. Would definitely recommend coming here. Atmosphere was also very cool and hip.

Public beach
St. Peter-Ording-Strand is a captivating coastal destination that has been enchanting visitors since 1906, thanks to its iconic red and white lighthouse. This stunning beach boasts vast stretches of sand and breathtaking views of the North Sea, making it an ideal spot for relaxation or adventure. A charming wooden walkway guides you to the shore, enhancing your experience as you stroll towards the water. While there is a small fee for beach access, this only adds to the allure of St.
Beautiful beach. You will have to walk a bit to get there, but there is room for everyone. Make sure you know when water is there. :) It is a great place to make sandcastles, see the waves, fly a kite and watch beautiful sunsets

National Park, quite wild, protected birds and vegetation. The control of the beach is frequent and you have to buy a ticket to access it. No need to go to the hairdresser before, the wind will solve the problem, it's fresh, it's beautiful, it's good for a change of mind, it's quite radical and effective. In winter that could be cold and you can see the frozen sea !

(Translated by Google) I almost don't want to tell anyone... An amazing place for families! Great food for the parents (ahoy from Henssler), with delicious fish and chips and fine drinks. But this huge house was actually designed and built just for children! A huge slide along the house (5 stories up, sliding and back), a large skate park suitable for children, two large sandboxes, swings with 5m ropes, climbing frames under the roof, climbing rings, playhouses. I think the child who doesn't ignore the tablet here has yet to be invented! The restrooms are unisex, and at least five of the stalls are children's restrooms. Double handrails everywhere (one at child height). There's also an indoor playground, but we didn't visit it despite all the free activities. For the parents: sun loungers and viewing platforms overlooking the North Sea. There are also walking trails through nature. A wonderful place, especially when the north shows its northern side weather-wise.

The spa area features nicely built saunas, including one with an amazing ocean view and open fire. The indoor relaxation area boasts big couches and beautiful beach/ocean views. It was nice experience. Not crowded. Nice saunas and als guided sauna experience. Different rooms and salty water pools.

Dünen-Therme Swimming center was awesome (warm water temperature, great wave pool running for 5-10mins every 30mins, 3 great slides, baby pool and kid friendly swimming area and a decent restaurant). The entry prices and resturant prices were not super but ok. The parking situation is terrible. Parking costs 3€/hour and it is not clearly marked and there is no discount on the parking for visiting the pool. So in summary: Awesome swimming center but not good value for money overall.

Great swinging pool. Nice and fun slides. Wave pool. All the baths are salt/sea water. Great food for decent prices at the restaurant. Can be busy during the summer times. When we were there we had some trouble finding empty changing rooms and seating. But it was a rainy Sunday during the summer holidays season so it probably was one of the busiest days of the year.

Great place when bad weather in SPO! The view to the North Sea and the dunes is really great. Why only 3 stars? Price is very high for water fun (not Sauna) and you have just one baby pool which is so flat, that the babies get cold so early, that you only can use the whirlpool. The other pool is too cold unfortunately and not suitable for babies.

Great place, it really is. A fun spa, affordable, everything well organised and clean. Water nice and warm, has some sea water mixed in, not pure sea water. Not huge, can get crowded. The little part of the pool that goes outside, a super experience in the dead of winter. ADDENDUM They are closed until Easter because of sudden increase of energy cost.

It is amazing to have a sunset view of the sea from the distance and be able to swim in filtered sea water! It does wonders for the skin, especially rashes. Prices were good too. The only thing I would like to see is the outdoor pool heated up a few more degrees!

The "Dünen Terme" is currently being renovated, so inform yourself on the status before visiting! We mainly visited the Spa. The Saunas are nicely build, there is one Sauna with a amazing view on the ocean and open fire. This is just stunningly beautiful. The indoor relaxing area is also very nice with big couches and beautiful beach/ocean view. I recommend to not go during weekend, as the place gets crowded fast. We have been there on Sunday and couldnt bare all the people at some point and had to leave early. The dressing area should be redone, as it certainly has seen its best days.

West Coast Park & Robbarium is a wildlife park showcasing North Sea animals, including seals and storks, as well as exotic species like snakes. Visitors can explore numerous aquariums and interactive attractions, observe whale skeletons, and get up close to various sea creatures such as sharks, turtles, and crabs. The park offers ample parking and is lauded for its family-friendly environment with open spaces, playgrounds, and educational opportunities for both kids and adults.
Great place for a day out. It was a lot bigger than we expected and the kids were entertained all day. We managed to catch the Tortoise feeding, which was a lot of fun. Would definitely recommend it for a family day out. Very good value for money. The cafe inside isn't so great, so maybe bring some food unless you're happy eating the usual chips and sausages.

It was an amazing experience! It wasn't crowded at all since we went there late this season. The animals where calm and it seemed like they were well looked after. I would totally come back again!

Great animal park! Great mix of attractions including animals, feeding times, puppet show, play ground. Make sure you get to the restaurant before they close.

Great park for families, kids and friends. Many different animals, very entertaining moments ex. Feeding the seals, yummy waffles, great collection of animals from many parts of the world, big green area, big area for kids. 100% Great! But it only accepts payment with cash, not cards :(

Very very cool. After having visited many many zoos, still, this one is outstanding. Exotic, friendly animals and helpful very nice staff.

The animal park exceeded our expectations. Very family friendly, lots of open space and a really nice environment to be in. It’s very easy to get around, there’s lots of animals to watch and learn more about and there are some nice playgrounds and green common areas too. Our 2 kids of 9 and 12 really enjoyed it too.

If you have time you should go! And an stray bonus, you are allowed to take your dog inside too. I never seen a zoo in Germany allowing dog!
