A very nice zoo, where they take good care of their animals. Informative signs with a lot of fun facts. The biomes for the rainforest species and penguins are amazing, but bring a cardigan if you want to stay for feeding time in the latter, it's quite chilly (as it should be)!

Super nice zoo, the animals are well taken care of and they have a good time here. The park is nice to walk through, sometimes it is a little impossible to follow the main trail via the map. But that just makes the adventure more interesting. I am totally in love with the king penguins, they are so big! For me I feel that the enclosures could be a little bigger but I am not an expert after too course.

Really cozy place, animals are in a really good condition and have clean enclosures. I would recommend to buy a ticket online, so you don’t have to stand in the queue for tickets :)

Beautiful zoo, the main route to follow is clear, plenty of food/drink stalls, and you had the possibility to walk in (or around) some animal area's to really get close to the animals.

One of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had. The farm buildings are so full of cool things to see and learn about, I could go back many times. My only comment, and this is not a criticism by any means, is without historical interpreters - the places feels somewhat listless. Granted that takes staffing and money- both of which are hard to come by, but I’d say that this visit made my entire Denmark vacation worthwhile.

A great experience, a small Danish Pompeii of the 1700-1800. Talk with the old people here and there, they really offer great gems on history and knowledge, I finally understood why old danish houses are done the way they were done. Great for kids also. Highly recommended for anyone doing an on the road holiday through Danemark.

Visitors and fancies shall soon catch the meaning the life and passion of Andersen in the way that majority of people know about. Such as most the fairy tales, fatasy, journey, love affairs, aspiration, glory, poor desperate childhood of his life and so on. The Childhood Home is well kept within museum, and amazingly arranged by all the built things about it inside of museum. That's why visitors impress how Andersen respectly regarded by Denish people. It's good place to hang around during the city tour. Either with family or without. Audio support also available while visit the museum. We spent apprax. 1 and half hour over there.

We only visited the outside of it after dinner and drinks because we were nearby and curious, so I can't speak to the indoor experience but just seeing the outside was already neat and interesting so I'm sure going in only adds to that! We visited the HCA museum earlier in the day which was absolutely amazing and this was a nice little follow up, even in the middle of the night! Very nice activity for both young and old! Suitable for kids 11 and 14! The gardens are beautiful, the restaurant a bit pricy but very nice. Veey friendly and helpful staff! The kids creativity zone was well maintained and great for digferemt ages!

Welcome! This space is a flawless recreation of Hans Christian Andersen's childhood home. It’s a powerful and poignant reminder that from these incredibly humble, confined walls, a great soul and an imagination that would one day enchant the world were born.

Really small but fun to read some extra stories about his childhood. It only takes 20 minutes to go through the house (but it's a nice addition to the other museum).

Nice, polite staff. Quality gift shop. Interesting exhibition (went to see one on sexuality: "Love, lyst, and freedom"). Location is well placed in the center of Odense with dining opportunities everywhere. Only reason for the fifth star missing is the size of the exhibitions. Brandts prefer a great deal of open space, which is beautifully set up, but with an interesting exhibition it's difficult for the visitor to "get enough".

It is a cool art museum, though the enjoyment you will get depends on your appreciation of the temporary exhibitions. The permanent one, although fun is not very big. I enjoyed the closelings exhibition as well as the one on Jens Juel. The layout of the museum is modern and located within an interesting building. Entry is 75dkk for students.

Wonderful museum but it’s shame that the shop offers barely anything that reflects the collections they have. I wish I could have brought home something small that reflects Danish art, not a generic postcard I can find anywhere.

Place has an interesting collection of paintings, but your enjoyment really hinges on the temporary exhibitions. In our experience, it was modern "art"—which, to be honest, I don’t think is art at all. The permanent collection is small but provides good insight and is nicely displayed. The building is easy to get around, and you won’t spend too much time looking at everything. It’s worth checking out if you’re in the area, but not essential unless the temporary exhibit matches your interests.

I enjoyed the exhibition featuring Belgium art & its political history. Main galleries had a good quality mix of historical, local and newer art. Enjoyable. Has a cafe.

This museum has an amazing variety of old and modern art. The entrance is expensive for over 10€ for students, but it's worth the art you'll see. From interactive over movies to traditional paintings there's a bunch to see on multiple floors. Even for kids they created various experiences! ☺️ The museum's shop has some cool gadgets as well and connected is a great concept of a coffee place which includes arts as well.

Had the chance to visit Pixar exhibition here in a winter evening of for free. Though it is not very big, it is still an enjoyable museum to visit with both friends and family!

Truly magical and indeed very interactive experience. One of the best museum I have ever visited. The story telling,lighting, the ambience everything felt right into the place. I even had a chance to draw and make a silent book for myself which I believe is one of the unique souvenir that I could ever get. I could spent hours and hours without getting bored. I never thought visiting a museum could be this much interesting.

Loved it. Great experience for younger ones and still kept us parents interested. The place tells the story of the life of Hans Christian Anderson. Through the main part of the museum you can use these audio guidebooks which were great at also keeping our 4 and 6 year old engaged. The audio bits were easy to do and didn't last too long. Maybe a minute or two maximum for most (a complaint I have for other places like this is sometimes they drone on and on, but this was a great length and lots of them to do). At the end of the main museum there is this great bit which is more interactive for kids as well. After this there is the children's wonderland which had last of roleplay sections and a lot of great quality dress up stuff. And also they had a craft section as well. Staff were friendly throughout. My only complaint was there were no books in the shop I could see in English. Did seem to have other languages though. All in all great place to visit, particularly with kids.

Probably the biggest tourist attraction in Odense, so definitely needs a visit. Well laid out, with a detailed history of his life first, followed by a wonderland of activities for the kids (thank God they didn't do this bit first otherwise you'd never get the kids round the rest of it!) Well curated, and the audio guide worked flawlessly. TBH I hadn't really heard of the fella, but still enjoyed a couple of hours here!

Jonas Collin director of the Royal Theater, personally focused on ensuring that Anderson got serious education. His famous fairy tales include 'The Emperor's New Clothes', 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Nightingale', 'The Princess and the Pea', 'The Ugly Duckling', 'Thumbelina' etc. So much so, that his fascinating stories have inspired ballets, plays, and live-action films. I personally think that 'Sad is the life, which is devoid of furtive imagination, but which can become fruitful, after being a-lit by the lore's of Great Writers'. Since, my travels always leads me to the local Book shops, needless to add that I took the opportunity of rummaging through the racks full of his written works and chose a few to carry them home, to include them in my personal library and ensuring that those deprived of such wonderful fairy tales, will enjoy reading them at galore.

So much time and effort has gone into each display, making it colourful, interactive, fun and interesting, all while telling the great story of his life. Beautiful and well maintained I went there in late morning on weekday and there were not many people I recommend to walk around and check out their garden at the back. It was green, clean and nice. There were a few benches suitable for sitting down and relaxing Entrance is free

This Cathedral is an enchanting place which I consider sacred as the meaning for espiritual people connected to God. It is an architectural master piece, considered the finest Gotic building in Denmark, consisting of a high nave with its bell tower, bricks built. The altarpiece has a magnificent carved work representing the pasion of Jesus Christ, I was lucky to see the back of it which has paintings of Adam and Eve and of the Holy Spirit among others (this area is not open to the public), and even you might listen to the pipe organ while visiting it, aditionally it brings the memory of Hans Christian Andersen as He was baptized in this place, you can find it at the right handside once getting in. The Entrance is free with also a smart gate in its facade, it is not usualy crowded!

We visited the cathedral located Odense while en route to Renders on the 9th May 2023 (Tuesday). The cathedral was built in 11th century and named after Dannish King Canute. It's interesting to know about King Canute and his adventure. Do make a visit while you are in Odense, which is more enriching apart visitng the shopping outlets.

Smaller, yet very impressive museum. The Ladby burial and the remains, or rather impression of the ship is a must see. It really showcases the archaeology of this important site with all its splendid.

Nice little museum built around real viking ship burial site. The real remains are very impressive as well as the reconstructed ship, which is the main point of visiting. It is not much to show except the ship itself, but the story about it is very well told and nicely presented. Location is in the middle of nowhere, but getting there could be an adventure by itself and the area is very calm and picturesque.

Beautiful Museum, especially if you are interested in Viking-Reenactment. You get to see the exhibits very close and you can see the determination of the Personnel by having a closer look at the props you can actually use. The Clothes are handsewn and at least partially handwoven. You also get to see the insides of an actual Burial-Site and a beautiful replica of the buried Ship. In addition you can have a look at some Buildings being build like 1000 Years ago. A short word about the employees: They were all super helpful and friendly. Definitely not our last visit here

Denmark’s only Viking ship grave: that's it. It depends on how much you rank this in your cultural needs and you can decide if you will visit or not this place. In our opinion, it was worth it. The original ship is preserved under the grass mound (in a fridge cell). The reconstructed one is just a few meters away. Aside info: you can picnic in the area once you have made tickets. Plenty of blackberries. Cost for three adults above 300kr. Discount for young people and students.

A truly unique experience. The only place where it is possible to see a ship burial preserved in situ. Also a small but very interesting exhibition including grave goods and full size recreation of the ship burial prior to its interment.

Popular park amongst locals and in particular families with small children. In the summer you can get ice-cream and go around the lake, and in the winter months you can go skate on the Lake.

We wanted to try both the sandwich and the pizza, but you can't order and eat the sandwich inside the restaurant, you can only order it at butik section next to the restaurant, where you can't order the pizza!! Great customer service! The staff was super friendly and kind. The wine was sweet and had a soft taste. The bruschettas were phenomenal. The lasagna and the pasta were extremely delicious. We ordered two desserts which were also super tasty. This was one of the best Italian restaurants we’ve visited in Denmark. It gives you a taste of Italy, far away from Italy. Definitely would recommend visiting. Would recommend booking a table online prior to visiting because the restaurant seems busy at all times.

While I appreciated the taste of the toppings and the juice, the pizza itself had some issues. The crust was exceptionally hard, almost impossible to cut. Additionally, there were several slightly burnt bubbles on the pizza base that lacked any topping. On a brighter note, the tiramisu was quite good. So if you like your pizza like that, this is going to be your favorite place!

Super busy but they worked hard to find us a table without a reservation. The pasta ravioli was flat and the sauce was watery. The spaghetti with prawns had no seasoning and was overcooked. The best part of the meal was the garlic pizza. Prices are reasonable though and the service was quick. Generally a pleasant enough experience.

Absolutely fabulous evening. Food creations inspired by H.C. Anderson’s fairy tales (in our case ‘princess and the pea’) and wonderfully introduced with a pinch of humour by the waiter. The restaurant is just across H.C Anderson’s birthplace and museum in probably the most picturesque and historic street of Odense. Definitely recommended for a gastronomical night out.

We didn't have a reservation; they not only seated us but graciously accomodated my shellfish allergy with a delicious alternative to the whitefish plate. Absolutely delicious dinner with my cœliac partner (no gluten). Very friendly service, incredibly accommodating and reassuring regarding cross-contamination, so my partner felt very safe. All menu options could be made gluten-free. Good non-alcoholic wine was also available! On the more expensive side but definitely worth it for the quality and atmosphere - a perfect place for a special occasion.

A classic tourist trap. Beautiful location, but the food was exceptionally poor. The quality was well below standard. We ordered the tenderloin, but it was very tough, lukewarm, and clearly frozen—not fresh. A real shame! The starter looked fancy but tasted very bland. It is a delightful place to visit, offering a diverse selection of international cuisine. The street food concept is well-executed, and all the dishes we sampled were quite delicious. They also have music events, outdoor seating, and a selection of beers.

Excellent street food destination!! Such a great variety of food options, all of great quality and very reasonable prices. There is an excellent live band playing popular music. One can find quieter spots too if you prefer. There is an outdoor sitting area too! The vibe is the best part!! Lots of people having fun, enjoying themselves. The laughter is infectious. This is a great place in a rather quiet city, to let your hair down and enjoy yourself 😀

Nice climbing park, started a bit slow when there was only 1 who does everything from check in, prepare the safety equipments and group instruction, to preparing meal and drink for customer and the occasional helping people who stuck somewhere in the one of the challenges. But later came some extra help, so service went smoother. The challenges were really good, our kids managed to try almost everything, incl. The red bane which way higher and more challenging than the others. And when my son wanted to try the 17-meters free fall, he was so good and patience to explain everything and also when it took longer time for my son to finally dare to jump, he was still very patient and no pressure. Kudos to that. All in all, it was a great experience.

We had a wonderful time at GoMonkey Odense. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent advice. The facility is fantastic with different levels of difficulty. We highly recommend it.

First of all, safety is top notch here, no doubt about that. Everything else felt slightly cheap, like a second best version. Still worth recommending though, as it's reasonably priced and close to Odense.

We have decided to come to the Go Monkey Odense park on our way to the airport as we had 2 spare hours. When we arrived to the check in nobody met us. We had to find a representative around the park and she told us she is busy with another group and we have to wait. After over 30 mins of awaiting she has appeared to tell us that we have to wait another 40-50 mins to start the activity, although they had plenty of availability. We could not afford this. Our kids were almost crying. Very weak organisation. Big dissappointment and time wasting

I went last year with my friend and we had such an amazing time. The place and obstacles are totally safe and I liked that there were different difficulty levels. Next week I’m going again with 3 other friends and I’m sure that we will so much fun!!

Really fun place. You get a simple secure system, which makes you are always attached to a safety wire. There are 5 different routes for adults, in 4 difficulties, with many different obstacles. It is a good exercise. For 5 stars, they should add a route in height 2 meters ish.

One of the most beautiful parks I’ve been to. So calming with the water stream and nice little places under low hanging trees to sit and relax. There are good spots for dogs to take a dip in the water. I also loved the little boardwalk which felt like a hidden track. It is great to have such a nice park directly next to city center.

This is such a charming place to visit: the village itself is fun to wander around, there are games to be played outside and iron age houses to discover, but the main thing that left an impression were the kind people working there. Every one of the people we spoke was so friendly and willing to help, it made us feel very welcome. Do try their mede: it's amazing. Also: the activity basket was so much fun: we ground our own flour, made bracelets and played games. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the bard festival the next day, something my boyfriend is still sad about.

The village is cosy and people living there were very friendly. Unfortunately there was nothing happening, no guidance with exception of a small map, and considering relatively expensive entrance fee for a few houses, I would recommend other villages on Fyn.

The website states that there are volunteers giving demonstrations and explanations about the houses and trades. On our day all volunteers were gone (to give demonstrations on the city) and this was only told after we purchased the tickets. So with a map we could only view the houses (which were interesting) but then you are finished after an hour. And then the entrance is quite expensive. Would be nice to add information about the presence of volunteers so that visitors are given a choice.

This is a beautiful viking village. You can walk around, explore everthing and ask questions in englisch or german. 😀 If you travel with kids, they can learn basics like making food here. Thank you for the wonderful time!

A small station located in the heart of the city. It’s not too busy and offers a variety of conveniences, including an Espresso House, Joe & The Juice, and a few small restaurants, making it a great spot to grab a bite or drink while waiting for your train.

Because of school i come here a lot. But this is a very average place. There are no public bathrooms wich make it difficult if you need one in a hurry and like me are too greedy to pay. At times i have had to walk onto a train that is staying at the station for a long time to go to the bathroom there. I will say the placement is excellent for the city and you wont need a bus to go most places in Odense. There is a nice variation of places for food but most of them are severely overpriced and not really worth it when you can just go a few hundred meters to get to a place thats cheaper better and less busy.

The station is clean and well-organized, offering a wonderful first impression of Odense. It is an ideal starting point for visiting Hans Christian Andersen’s birthplace and museum.
