Art museum
The Children's Discovery Museum, located in uptown Normal, is a fantastic destination for families seeking an engaging and educational experience. Spanning three stories, this interactive museum features a variety of exhibits designed to spark curiosity and creativity in children. Young visitors can explore healthy eating at the market, take the wheel of a combine in the nation's largest children's agriculture exhibit, or unleash their artistic talents in the Art Studio.
Visited on Sunday 12/10/2023. This is an awesome museum. Three floors of learning and fun play for kids of all ages. I loved that there were so many play areas and activities for toddler aged children here. We brought two babies and they both enjoyed our visit. The time really flew by while we were here. Easy to spend hours. We will definitely be coming back Visited again on Sunday 2/18/2024. Both babies had a great time again. The staff were very helpful and gave us an ice pack when our oldest hit his head. Gift shop items are priced a little high but we did buy some paint markers and a coloring book.

3 floors of fun for kids of all ages! My two (4 & 5) had a ball running around and climbing on practically everything. There's plenty of learning materials, but the activity engagement is outstanding. They were constantly on the move, shifting from one "wow!" to the next. Expect to spend a minimum of an hour here, upwards of 3 - 4.

This place was amazing! We met up with family here so the 6 kids could all play together! They loved it! They never wanted us leave the current floor, but when they went to the next floor up, there was something even MORE exciting to do there! They also let you leave and come back all day, your receipt gets you in all day. You can also go get food (or bring in food) and eat at the tables on the 2nd floor. Super super helpful and awesome!!! We will be back!

The best children’s museum I’ve ever been to; definitely better than anything in Dallas, TX. We always make it a point to visit when we’re in town and my kids always want to go back. A fantastic place to play, explore, and learn, for the whole family.
David M — Google review
Five stars because it's a great experience for my kids as they don't come here often (maybe once a year when we visit family). If we were local this would quickly lose its value. A lot of the exhibits haven't changed since I was a kid 20 years ago, when they probably should have.
Alexis J — Google review
For how big the place is you would think it would be better. Half the stuff for the stations were broken like the 2 way call booth, the stomp the bug floor projector or pieces missing like the build your own sock puppets was some nasty looking socks and there was 1 eyeball and a hat to decorate the socks with. We found ourselves struggling to do things so we could say we got our moneys worth. We traveled 1½ hrs each way for not a whole lot. It was okay for a one time visit but won't return.
Paige W — Google review
There are lots of things to do. They have three floors of activities. The open floor plan makes it hard to lose your children. Smiling and polite staff everywhere. My four children are between the ages of two and eleven. They all had a blast. The gifts in the gift shop are not too expensive. It was fun, and they were able to leave with souvenirs. We will definitely return.
Qeren Y — Google review
My son had an absolute blast and barely even wanted to leave the first floor! I've never been in a place like this so it was really neat to experience for me as well! It was so interactive for both the parents and child! They also do an amazing job of consistently keeping it picked up!

Pheasant Lanes Family Fun Center & Kegler’s Pub in Bloomington, Illinois is a family-friendly entertainment venue offering a variety of activities for all ages. The center features bowling, mini-golf, sand volleyball, arcade games, and laser tag. Additionally, there's a pub serving sandwiches and pizza for visitors to enjoy. The mini-golf course is available during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
Manager Erica was absolutely wonderful when we had a slight issue with bowling, and fixed it up for us immediately! Arcade prices were very fair, and the prices were cool. Food and drink were also very good, especially the toasted ravioli, and reasonably priced.

I haven't been here since I was a teenager probably before the remodel but I know my son's school has taken him here on community days so I wanted to share that moment with him by bringing him here. My son is 6 and Autistic/Non-Verbal so outtings can be a bit of a challenge. I will say the staff there were really nice I would have liked some additional help though since I didn't know how to get things set up and again it was our first time there since the remodel. I did have to come back to the desk after failing to know how to set up the getting bowling part. I will give it to the place that they've come along way in what they offer in types of games and variety but for someone who was new I had no idea what I was doing and trying to be aware of my toddler on my own wasn't helping. We did come right in the morning so there wasn't a bunch of ppl there which was great that helped. Now in ref to pricing I will say that outting was a little on the expensive side we ended up spending roughly about 70 or so for 2 games of bowling for 2 ppl my son and I and food afterwards. I don't remember there being a kids drink offered but glad I carried juice on me for times like this as well as snacks as we waited about 15-20 mins for food though it was hot and fresh I will say and we enjoyed it. The experience in an overall sense was enjoyable however in ref to being an affordable thing we would like to do again that maybe a different story.

We held a family reunion in the outdoor patio with Bloomington Normal being a central location for all of us - even in the heat, with the fans and a breeze - we were comfortable enough to have a wonderful time in a great space! Erica took care of the details so we were able to enjoy our reunion. She was flexible with the needs of our group and extremely helpful. Everything went according to plan - really could not have had a nicer day! We were pleased to have such a nice salad, cold sandwiches and pizza, and dessert was a hit too! I think our group tried every activity but the arcade! Thank you Pheasant Lanes!

This place was alot of fun & very budget friendly with reasonable prices. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar and mini golf, but they also had bowling and a game room. Fun for the whole family, date night or a night out with friends. We didn't have their pizza but it definitely looked really good. We had reservations for dinner or I would have wanted to give it a try!!

We went to Pheasant Lanes in Bloomington for a Labor Day work get-together on a Monday. Since they were open until 10 PM, I asked the front desk for a lane until 10. The staff told me if I took it at 8:15 it would only run until 9:15, so I agreed to start one lane at 8:30 and another later when the rest of my group arrived. I specifically told the receptionist I needed the lanes until 10 PM, and I was charged accordingly. I ended up spending nearly $300 for my team, but at 9:30 they shut everything down without any notice. The second lane that I opened at 9 PM was closed after just 30 minutes. Nobody told me in advance that they planned to close early. This was very disappointing—especially since I’ve hosted similar events here before. The first time, the staff was great and very helpful, but the last couple of times the service has gone downhill. The communication is poor, the staff doesn’t seem to care about customers, and it left me feeling embarrassed in front of my team who barely got 10–15 minutes of bowling after I had paid for the time. I truly expected better consistency and customer service. Note: I am also posting the statement of how much I spent at Pheasant Lanes to show exactly what happened.

Nice family fun center. The bowling lanes are in great shape and the facility was clean. The pizza was very good and the price was reasonable.
Brian S — Google review
My son had a great time here (age 7) learning to bowl!!! My son beat me in all of our games as I'm a "spin" bowler and the lanes aren't oiled for it...but I could care less as he is loving the game and still learning and we had a really fun time!!!! Prices are very reasonable and the staff is SUPER nice!!! Wonderful place for a young family to go!
Cmeister1975 — Google review
I’m not sure if this was a recent change, or if staff was just uninformed of bowling options, but this bowling trip was very expensive for our group of 7. My family came to visit me and we were looking for something fun to do together. My dad asked how bowling is handled at this alley and we were told you pay by the hour. According to other reviews, this doesn’t seem to have always been the case. We proceeded to play for an hour and, with a group of seven, two being kids, it’s no surprise there was lots of downtime between bowlers and ultimately ate away at our hour of play. Giving 3 stars because the kids had lots of fun in the arcade!

The kids have been members for a while and we also hosted a birthday party for my son here. We love this place! The staff is always friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean. They’ve recently added 3 new attractions.

My kids love this place. It's great for all ages, and my 3 kids (10,7,5) all are able to find areas to stay engaged. They recently remodeled the inside to switch out some attractions. We like the monthly pass where members can come everyday for 2 hours, as The kids can go burn energy while I work in the parent lounge. If I want to jump with them, it's only $5. I also like that I can stop and start my membership anytime, if needed. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

We have had such an amazing experience at Altitude! From the moment we walk in, the staff has been incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. You can tell they truly enjoy working with kids and families. Their energy makes the whole visit even more fun and welcoming. A special shoutout to Carrie, the manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. She was not only professional and organized but also genuinely kind and approachable. It’s rare to see a manager so involved and invested in creating a positive environment for both guests and her team. Thanks, Altitude, for a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!

9 year old twins love this place! There are a lot of different things to do to keep them entertained. I also like their upstairs lounge couches. Staff is really nice and good to the kids! Only giving 4 stars because I do wish they would allow outside water bottles.

This place, it’s so fun and amazing. Every time I walk into those doors I know it’s going to be a great night. I walk in and see the happy faces of everyone around I suggest taking everyone you know here. It’s family friendly, the workers are kind and help out anyone that walks through that entrance. Take your family and friends here and you will have a blast! Thank you altitude!

Recreation center
The Proving Ground Bouldering Gym, a family-friendly rock climbing gym located in Normal, offers 6,500 square feet of bouldering space and auto-belays for beginners. Visitors can purchase day passes to enjoy a full day of climbing with their families. The gym has received praise for its route setting and the friendliness of its staff. Additionally, it offers student discounts and has a pro shop that provides everything climbers need for an enjoyable experience.
Recently visited with my 8 year old child who loves to climb. Walking in, we were met by Barry, who could not have been kinder, friendlier, or more helpful in any way. He walked through everything with us, and gave us a tour of the place, including how to hook into their auto-belay devices. Our kid loved climbing while there, and my wife and I enjoyed playing chess while watching. My child mentioned that their hands were getting slippery from the snack they ate after a couple hours of climbing, and Barry overheard and brought a bag of chalk over for them to use, and gave some tips for helping them get more confident and technical with their climbs. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Adam W — Google review
Excellent bouldering gym. Daughter had a USA Youth Climbing Qualifying Event here. Our first time here. Challenging route setting, friendly staff. Cudos to the local climbing community who judged. Good location in a strip mall. Easy to get to. Highly recommend it if in the area. Had an excellent food truck available for the event. Google only allows :30 videos so you can't see the entire climb.

As a new climber, I absolutely love TPG! The staff and fellow climbers are all so helpful and friendly! I would highly encourage anyone interested in climbing to check it out😊
Andrew P — Google review
Chris and his staff are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Everyone is willing to help you improve, and it's a great place to make new friends. Student discounts are available, the pro shop has everything you need to have a great time, and the atmosphere is perfect for kids parties! With cold air in the summer, and other members cheering you on as you climb, TPG is a great place to spend your day!
Evan H — Google review
Haven’t climbed in years but during a trip visited TPG w a friend who is a regular here. High quality routes, great atmosphere and amazing staff. How do I get one of these in my city?!?
Jeffrey B — Google review
Man oh man, I am from out of town and I deeply am saddened I will not be able to come back to this gym. What an absolute treat this place is. I would come to this place 10 out of 10 times instead of Upper Limit (gym nearby). I am a little disappointed this is a shirt on gym, but that's the rules and I respect that. The route setting is 10/10 - so many bangers - I want to thank one of the setters Mark for making some amazing routes. Truly had fun here. Front staff was super helpful and respectful - even when they told me to put my shirt back on it didn't feel rude or anything. Pricing is pretty decent, I'd be more than happy to pay a little more for this place as opposed to upper limits. Super friendly for advanced climbers and new climbers. Great stuff! Thank you for hosting me

The Normal Public Library is a beloved community resource that offers a welcoming environment for learning and growth. Visitors praise the dedicated staff who go above and beyond to assist and encourage patrons, especially young ones. The library boasts an extensive selection of books for both children and adults, with fast and easy check-in and check-out processes. Additionally, there's a playroom upstairs where kids can have fun and interact. While some occasional interactions with staff may seem off, overall the atmosphere is friendly and helpful.
Such a great resource for our community! We've been going there since my daughter was an infant...we would go for Tuesday Tales! The staff go above & beyond to help, encourage young patrons, and show care! Some of the brilliant ladies whose story hours we attended for years, call my name by name when we visit, this experience is priceless, we appreciate the positivity and dedication they show! And the we appreciate all the staff and the leadership for creating such a welcoming environment for learning & growing!

I'm obsessed!!!!! They literally have a free indoor playground in here! The spaces are nice, clean, and the entire upstairs is kid friendly. I can't wait to bring my kids on the weekends and just be able to relax and read books!
A M — Google review
What a great library, lots of books and materials. Overall a nice library
Ray L — Google review
I was disappointed when the library reopened. Only thing really different is the decor. They added a room with some new equipment. Which is on the floor with the kids. There are no computers for the kids like Bloomington. Normal just has the tablets . Seem like the renovation was a waste of county funds. Bloomington library is way better.
TJ — Google review
Great library. Better than BPL in my opinion. They have a great selection of books for kids and adults. Check out and check in of books is fast and easy. The kids play room upstairs is a great way for kids to have fun and interact. There are times where the men and women behind the counter seem to perhaps be having a bad day based on mood/interaction, but in general the staff are friendly and helpful.
A H — Google review
Am so grateful for the people who work and use this library. Just needed a small printing job. Firstly, holding a door for others makes a day so good. Secondly, the whole library feels welcoming. Thank you for being a necessary community destination :)
Sandy T — Google review
This library will close for literally anything, I don't understand how that's even allowed by something funded by our taxes. They're closing early the day before Thanksgiving, then closed Thanksgiving and the day after. Thanksgiving makes sense, but the day after? They do that with the other holidays too, big or small. Not to mention about a year ago they started closing an hour earlier. They even closed a few months ago for a day or so because of the death of a spouse of someone that USED to work there... it's a joke at this point. If you work a regular 9-5 their constant random closings and limited hours makes it hard to actually use the library. Also, I don't understand how they had the funds to completely renovate the bathrooms to make them both all gender (which I don't have an issue with at all for the record), but they say they don't have the money to update the self-checkout kiosks? They're so slow and half the time don't even work, and you can't just type in your card number like you can at BPL, you have to have your card with you to use it. Priorities seem to be misplaced at this location, IDK.
Renee W — Google review
Normal Public Library is one of my favorite places in town. They kept things as safe as possible during the pandemic, have easy grab and go shelves for reserved books, are the most helpful people you'll meet and truly make the library a welcoming place. The website is a great way to search the catalog and request books ahead of time and there are always fun new programs. If i had any requests it would be for things like the knitting group to meet outside of work (and school) hours. But i love the library!

Arcadia Care Bloomington is a vintage arcade that takes you back to the 1980s with its collection of classic games and pinball machines, all operated with real quarters. The staff, including the Administrator and Social Services Director, are highly praised for their dedication and responsiveness in addressing residents' needs. The facility goes above and beyond in organizing engaging events like Arcadia Idol, where residents can showcase their talents.
My daughter has been a resident at Arcadia for the past 17 months, following extensive hospitalization from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. The nurses, aides and entire staff have been amazing. I wanted a place where she would receive loving and compassionate care and Arcadia Care has delivered. I am so very grateful to them!

I barely want to give one star , rude rude rude , don't return calls and the new rule for dogs that need to be vaccinated is funny ... Cuz this facility is disgusting, wasn't warned about COVID . It sucks tear it down start over idk how it's been still running in 2025 most disgusting place ever

Place is FILTHY! The care is HORRIBLE! No one listened to me when I told them something was wrong with my daughter. I was out of the United States at that time. When I returned I found my daughter in severe mental status changes, not speaking, bad tremors, high temperature. I insisted she be taken to the hospital immediately. She was then admitted to the hospital where she was found to have severe brain swelling. Medication was not being given as directed. I took her home after she was discharged from the hospital. Keep your loved one's FAR away from this facility. They never clean the rooms. See pictures. Floors and rooms are deplorable and disgusting. Garbage not emptied for days. Trash on floor. Grimy, filthy floors. Disgusting bathroom. Toilet paper not accessible to patient. Toilet paper holder in the bathroom, yet Toilet paper on floor where it can't be reached by patient. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!
Juanita R — Google review
The Administrator and Social Services Director are both amazing! My mother has been a resident here for 3 months and while she's had a few hiccups, I've been able to get in contact with the both of them and get things sorted out in a timely fashion. All of the 300 staff that I personally have come in contact with are amazing. In addition to my mother having a specific type of Dementia, it's been a learning curve for everyone, myself included. I would recommend Arcadia to others seeking a facility for their loved ones.

Valerie is wonderful! Very involved in making sure the customers needs are met and they have their special moments. She went out of the way to gather lists so the community could assist with secret Santa so all the residence wish lists were met

I am impressed with how much Arcadia Care does for the residents! They recently did a Arcadia Idol where they sing and compete. I was happy to donate $100 towards the pay out in prize money! Valerie is enthusiastic and is a good fit for the position as Activity Director! Go Arcadia Care!! Randy

This facility is absolutely disgusting!!! This place is neglectful to the patients that live there. The call buttons weren’t working for a period of time…. They said they couldn’t find bed pans. YES. In a nursing home they couldn’t find a bed pan. The rooms are absolutely disgusting. The room our family member was moved to had not been cleaned and has what appears to be vomit or fecal matter on the wall.. I wouldn’t allow my Dog to be cared for in this facility.

The expansive gift shop offers an array of goods including apple butters, sauces, candles, decor, and jewelry. The farm boasts a diverse selection of pumpkins in various colors as well as beautiful mums for purchase.
Excellent choice for family fun. Many activities: new huge slide, corn maze & much more. Rader Family Farm is open Wed-Sunday. They sell many pumpkins of all sizes. You can pick your own if you want to. It’s a very well maintained place with friendly signs to help you navigate. It’s super clean! They also have added many great backdrops for some photo ops so you can take your feel good vibes with you. If you are hungry for a quick lunch there are 2 places to get food. They serve pulled pork and they have specialty coffees, apple cider, donuts, pies and popcorn! I highly recommend this place and Bloomington Normal is lucky they have this in their own area.

I had a wonderful time at the farm today. Really love the apple cider slushies. Don't forget to buy your donuts and pies to go. Or you can eat them here. This is a great place to bring kids. Some fun field trip for those school classrooms.

One of my absolute favorite places in Blo-no. Perfect for families/kids, there are endless amounts of things to do. I love the cozy little shops, food, and drinks. So many photo opportunities. I wish they were open year round, my son loves it here as well! I’ve been to many places for fall festivities in different states and Rader farms blows all of them out of the water 😊

We had such a wonderful experience at Radar Family Farms! Right when we arrived, we stopped for lunch and were blown away by all the food options—it was almost overwhelming because everything looked so good. We finally decided, and it was absolutely delicious. Not long after, we headed into the corn maze (only made it to checkpoint #2), and one of my friends suddenly started feeling sick. A gentleman working by the maze didn’t hesitate for a second—he kindly gave us a ride up front to the bathrooms, which we were so grateful for. Unfortunately, we ended up having to leave shortly after, but that kind of hospitality really stuck with us. Even though our visit was cut short, we would 100% go back. The atmosphere, food, and kindness of the staff make the hour-long drive more than worth it!

SO many fall activities and most prices are reasonable (apple picking may be a little overpriced but they have a wide variety) delicious apple cider slushy 🍎 and the corn maze was very fun 🌽

This place is huge and there is a lot to do. Our 3 & 1/2 y/o granddaughter had so much fun. The play house town was a blast. She wouldn't go down the long slide but it sure looked like fun. The food was good, between the three of us we had the hamburger, grilled cheese and the brat with pulled pork on top (which was great). Clean restrooms (they had actual bathrooms and porta-potties scattered though out the place). Plenty of parking (the parking lot alone was bigger than some of the other pumpkin farms we've been to). TIP: You can buy your tickets ahead on-line and skip the longer at-the-door line. We will be heading back next year, more than once.

So Raiders this Saturday had this pop-up farmers market type of thing and I go there with my dog because I just assumed dogs were allowed because it was an outside activity and it was like open to the public and I went with my family and I get there and they’re like no dogs are allowed so sorry and I would’ve totally been like yeah no problem. That’s OK. That’s my fault for not reading but One of their employees is just on a little go kart type of thing with their dog just cruising around if no dogs are allowed why is there a dog right there for everyone to see like you’re accepting all dogs that’s a little misleading and a little unfair in my opinion.

This place was terrific. Tons for the family to do, truly something for everyone. Only thing that kept it from getting 6 stars outta 5, was that it was 90 degrees out. Would recommend to anyone to visit!

Well-displayed wartime memorabilia. Outdoor walk-through with steps up to various cockpits of aircraft. The Huey helicopter was particularly interesting.

Great museum - we went on Open Cockpit day where they had the planes opened up. They had many volunteers who shared their stories of flying and combat that really enhanced the experience. $5 entry fee was well worth it!

Luisa M — Google review
Review Date: May 18th, 2012 These birds have been permanently grounded. Every childhood boy likes one of three things: planes, trains, or automobiles. I leaned towards things that could fly, especially at supersonic speeds. So, it came to my surprise that there was a aviation museum within a reasonable driving distance from my home. I have actually been here about 3 times total since my first visit. I think I was with Matt the first time here. I think we explored a bit of Bloomington-Normal before a concert in the evening. The museum itself is just a little ways off the one of the main busy roads that runs through Bloomington. I actually think this up the road from the Bloomington Airport. How fitting! It’s not a massive museum by any means. The building itself is probably no larger than your local fast food eateries. But within those small confines is a tremendous amount of history. Each time I’ve come here, I’ve signed the guest book and donated a few bucks on top of paying the admission fees. The price is listed on their website. It was $5/each for adults. As I said, the building itself housed a ton of information regarding aviation. They had a section dedicated to NASA. They had tons of props and displays scattered throughout. They had graphs with a ton of information. Suffice to say, I can’t put in words what photos do better. While I did supply photos below, due to limited storage space, I couldn’t upload nearly enough photos to show everything. While the inside was full of information and relics from aviation’s past, the things I was dying to see were outside. The things that flew in another time and in another place. On one of the trips, we lucked upon a volunteer who was giving tours. He gave us a quick tour of the jets, planes, and aircraft outside and then let us explore to our hearts content. A few of my family members were veterans of the military, mostly in the Rangers and Marines. My dad tried to enlist but due to a hearing issue, wasn’t allowed in. By the time I was ready to join, my body had too many injuries to even think I could try to enlist (I was a very active kid and while I never broke a bone, I did do a lot of damage to my joints). Matt was also in the Marines for an undetermined about of time. So, suffice to say we all had some interest in the military in some way, shape, or form. Following the path outside winds you around all that there is to see. It was extremely cool to be able to go up to any of the aviation vehicles and see them in person. Some of them had ladders that you could take up and see in to the cockpit. They are locked shut so don’t get any wild ideas of hopping in and taking off. I do think they have special events where they open them and allow people to get in and have their photos taken. Check their website for details on that and other events they have. In the end, this place was great to check out. I loved getting to see the jets up close and person. I took one of my favorite photos ever and it’s included below. Can you guess which that is? If you have kids that love aircraft or have a general interest yourself, do oneself a favor and check this place out if possible. “Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.”

Ropp Jersey Cheese, located in Normal, IL, is a family-owned dairy farm that has been producing top-quality cheese for seven generations. Their Jersey cows produce milk with higher butterfat content and superior nutrition compared to other breeds. Visitors rave about the delicious cheese, addictive milk, and exceptional ice cream available at the farm store. In addition to a variety of cheeses and flavored milks, guests can also enjoy interacting with the cows and calves on the farm.
This place has amazing cheese curds! Friendly service and great prices!! We are crossing through the state from a trip in WI; I was so disappointed because we didn't get a chance to go to any of the WI cheese factories and get fresh cheese. (A favorite childhood memory). Thankfully, I found Ropps Jersey Cheese on our route towards home. It was only 4 min off the highway, and I convinced the others in the car to let us stop. We didn't have a lot of time to spare and this shop was perfect for that. Everything was organized, clean, and easy to find. The 2 gentlemen in there were also really helpful! We purchased some honey Stix and 6 different kinds of cheese curds. So far, all have been delicious; with a favorite being the garlic jalapeño! Everyone in the car is loving them! (Some had never even heard of cheese curds before!). I will definitely be checking to see if they can ship more once I get home! Highly recommend! 🤗

The cheese curds, nice and fresh. The cheese spread is extremely addicting! The milk is a new favorite as well. Kens dad was so very kind as well.Cannot wait to visit again. Thank you all!

This place has the best authentic cheese selections in central IL. I’m biased as a personal friend of the owners, but I’ve seen firsthand the dedication to cleanliness and quality, how well they take care of their cows (they live twice their life expectancy on Ropp’s farm), and how they always try to offer most competitive prices. It’s a family business through and through so what’s not to love? Check em out!

Haven't tried the product yet but Ray Jr. was so pleasant ! Will follow up once we have tasted one ( of many) of our selections! What a nice stop 💛 Wanted to add to the previous review as we have now tried (and finished) a few of the products we purchased. The queso was sooooo good as was the beef sticks and cheese curds. Amazing flavor on all! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Nestled in the heart of Bloomington, Eastland Mall is a cherished shopping destination that has stood the test of time since its grand opening in 1967. This one-story mall boasts an enclosed layout and underwent significant expansion just a few years later, making it one of Illinois' oldest retail hubs. With over 100 stores and eateries, visitors can explore well-known brands alongside local gems like Mariano's Fresh Market and Culver's Frozen Custard.
I remember when I used to be so many stores opened in this mall. Probably not that many days until it closes at this point. Couldn't have been more than 10 stores, but I didn't count. So weird walking through and seeing how deserted it was.

Y’all Need To Do Better With This Mall, It’s A Shame that there’s literally NO STORES In This Mall What So Ever.. Is It Because You Guy Raised The Rent So High That Those Who Had A Store There Could Not Afford It ?? Why Not Change It To An Outlet Mall Or DO SOMETHING All The Fast Food And Other BS In Bloomington Normal.. The Least Y’all Can Do Is Do Something about Them Empty Ahh MALL.

If you like walking, this is the place for you. If you like shopping, this is not the place for you. There's probably about five stores that are currently operating in this downfall of a mall. Place has seen better days

Owners of the Mall have let the building age and fall apart, while increasing rent. Running the majority of the stores out of the location. Shame on the City of Bloomington for allowing this.

My last visit was in Kansas City 15 years ago. What a Surprise to go to one in Bloomington, IL. It was exciting, my Grandson n Great niece n nephew had a blast. Oh can't 4get the chocolate chip cookie/pie. YUMMY 😋
Debra W — Google review
This place is great for kids, daughter loves it so much we purchased the fun pass. Most of the games are properly working they have a new trampoline area. It’s clean, staff are ok food was not. My wife bit into the first slice of pizza only to find a piece of plastic in it. I approached the manager and made her aware, she seemed very shocked and didn’t really know what to do (young female, seemed nervous) but she ended up refunding our pizza and making a new one. Even if this happened we will still be supporting this place because it is a greats place for kids.
Kelsey A — Google review
I'm not a fan but I'm also the grandparent. The pizza is okay but that's what I expected. I ordered a group of French fries and had to have them cook more. I would not recommend FF. The place was hot so that made it more uncomfortable. I wish I ordered the wings because they smelled good.
Brian E — Google review
Clean, everything was working, really nice and helpful staff for our first time. I like that you can buy unlimited play for a certain amount of time. Pizza was actually not bad and came out hot. It wasn't busy on a weekday midmorning/early afternoon. I like that they check every kid with an adult when you come in, that made me feel more comfortable. We'll definitely be back! I think most kids only need 1.5 hours or so. 2 hours was just a little long for my 5 year old.
Carrie W — Google review
Very expensive for not so great food. The games were good. Don't like the fact you pay $12 for the trampoline part and it's locked. You have to find someone to unlock it. Should just be part of the play price.

Bobby B — Google review
Updating my review. We just had my daughter's 4th birthday party here and it was PERFECT. The host/ manager on duty was very attentive and sweet. The food came out and was delicious. I'm talking these 4 year old kids had at least 3-4 pieces each. AND they got dippin dots. She was great with the kids, as was Chuck E. Would absolutely recommend having a party here! It's a good gig to pay $8 / month for unlimited visits (40pts per day).
Stephanie Y — Google review
Went to chuckie cheese for little kid birthday. Place was very clean. Food was alright, we had pizza and breadsticks. The games were fun. And 30 for an hour of play seemed reasonable. I hit 5 jackpots so over 1100 tickets donated by me to the kids-they were happy! Now, the prize shelf is another story, you can pay cash for prizes if you don't have enough tickets, but they are outrageous, a $5 item is $40. Great family friendly night out overall!

If you haven't been here, make it a top of the list place to visit. You won't find what they sell anywhere. Staff is always amazing. They'll try to find something you're looking for if they don't already have it (which is rare). If they obtain it for you, they'll give you a discount for ordering it through them. Wish I could give 6 stars! Haven't been since they were in old location around 2016 when I graduated from IWU. Plus - one of the best - used game selections I have seen in years. Always a place I gotta visit when I visit home!

We've lived this place for years and always look here first when we shop for games. Yesterday, we took some out-of-town friends there. They were impressed with the rich stock of DnD merchandise and books. We talked with the owner who gave us detailed information on game play and reputation of any game we asked about, even if he had not yet played it himself.

Im reviewing my most recent trip here. It was just after the 2025 edition of the D&D core rulebooks had come out. I came in looking for the books, and the staff was super friendly. I found a limited edition alt cover of the Player's Handbook that was damaged during shipping, and it was on sale because of the damage. I don't recall how much it was exactly, but it was right around the same price as the regular handbook. I'm not guaranteeing that you'll get a similar deal, but in all my experiences, the staff and store has always been on the customer's side. I love this store and invite you all to see for yourself.

We had a good time. We did the Pharoah room, and only one clue frustrated the 3 of us. We finished the room in 33 minutes. Our personal best time for an escape room (we have been to about 20). The room itself was not only decorated very well but had real quality and a lot of thought behind it. I was also happy that everything worked. No glitches, and no missing or broken pieces. The challenges were medium difficulty. I personally liked that there were not many locker locks. I was happy with how some of the locked items were opened. Our game host was very nice. My only recommendation is a better background to take a group photo. We will be back in the future to try another one.

We did the Pharoah room and had a fantastic time! The facilities are great, and the puzzles of medium difficulty. The impressive electronics used in the puzzles add to the fun; light sensors ore used well and hidden compartments pop open when a puzzle is solved. This place is the best! My son absolutely loves attending his weekly 2 and under class here and had such a fun and memorable 2nd birthday party here as well! Our teacher, Tina, plans something different for every single class and has amazing patience when it comes to working with children of all ages! My son has grown from being a kid who runs all over the room when asked to sit on the carpet in the middle, to a child who listens to almost every instruction given. Laura is a PHENOMENAL person who loves every single child at her gym like her own. I cannot say enough good things about the Jump Spot and their amazing staff. My oldest son has special needs and has gone to classes at the gym for 3 years and has been treated like family with so much love and care by every single teacher. Jump Spot is EASILY our favorite spot for our kids in Bloomington-Normal.

Laura is the best coach! She will push your child to do things you never thought they could do! Every minute in her class is time well spent. There is no standing around - the kids are engaged with phenomenal instruction from the minute class starts til the minute it ends! If you are looking for a fun, clean, and friendly environment for your child to grow in their tumbling skills and confidence you must check out the Jump Spot.

If anyone is looking for a fun birthday spot The Jump Spot is the place!! It’s off Hershey, and a little hidden gem. We had my sons first birthday party there yesterday, and it was AMAZING!! Eleven kiddos came ages 9-1, and every single one of them had a blast! The staff was so helpful, and did a great job on handling everything so I could just enjoy the party! It was so structured, and everything was timed perfectly- which is hard to do with that many kids but Tina & Emma had it covered, and where great with all the kids!

My son had his fifth birthday party at The Jump Spot today and everything was perfect! My son keeps saying today was the best day of his life. So sweet :) Everything was well-organized. They were so helpful with the entire party. I didn't have to do anything! Everyone had a blast! I definitely recommend this gym for birthday parties! We'll have to check out what else there is to offer here! :)

Refuge Food Forest in Normal is a beautiful and well-designed place with a variety of perennials, including blackberry and elderberry bushes, grapes, apples, paw paws, currants, and raspberries. The pavilion is perfect for picnics or outdoor events. Although the restroom facilities are limited to porta-potties, the site offers plenty of space for group activities. It's located in a quiet area not far from residential and business areas.
I love this! Food growing out in the open anyone can stop and get something to snack on 🥰
Heather W — Google review
This is a splendid destination for the family to learn about nature and growing your own food. The community is invited to share in the sowing, maintenance, and harvest.
J F — Google review
Never knew this place existed! Very cool place to visit. You can refuge for food, veggies and herbs.
Katrina H — Google review
Only a few blackberries in season in August, but a cool idea for a park resource.
Andy R — Google review
What a wonderful place to visit. Beautiful design to the plantings. Love the perennials chosen for the forest. The pavilion is quite nice, for picnics or outdoor events. We were here for a grafting class on a cool overcast day. Plenty of room for a group. Porta-potties are the only option for restrooms. It's simple but less than ideal. In a quiet area of Normal. Not too far from residential area, and a few businesses. Quite lovely as a site, and definitely a pleasant addition. Looking forward to returning later as the place greens up and the berries are producing.
Carrie O — Google review
There are an absolutely bonkers amount of blackberry and elderberry bushes here. Lots of other good stuff too, grapes, apples, paw paws, currants, raspberries. There were still lots of blackberries today near the end of August.
Steve B — Google review
Hope in next 2-3 years, it will become a great attraction in Normal for people to establish a healthy and greener lifestyle. This should get bigger for common good of the community.

Wonderful idea and great location...only problem was I was too early to harvest anything of note. Looking forward to harvesting other things (raspberries, notably) and possibly finding time to volunteer.

Uptown Station is a beautiful and spacious facility primarily used for public transit. It offers a convenient location, with the museum doors just a short walk away without having to cross any streets. The lobby provides ample seating and friendly staff at the service counter who are willing to assist visitors. Monitors are available throughout the station to keep track of transportation schedules. While generally clean, some areas like the restrooms could benefit from more frequent maintenance to manage trash buildup.
I have used Uptown Station as my main form of transportation when traveling to Chicago or St Louis. For a town of this size, it suits the needs for transportation. My only negative is I wish they had a small restaurant or something in the space that is currently empty.
Kacie T — Google review
Uptown Station is a very nice facility. I mainly use it for public transit. The lobby is very spacious with plenty of seating. The staff at the service counter are friendly, nice, and willing to help. They have monitors around, so you can see if your transportation is running late or on time. The only thing I think needs more work on are the restrooms. They are clean for the most part. Just the trash seems to fill up quickly. More frequent checks would help to keep the trash down.
Gregory S — Google review
Train station parking is awful. It's a shame we have to deal with the MESS of driving up into the garage to drop folks off. This old guy wants it his way where we have to go and drop off. At the same time, UPTOWN NORMAL is reluctant to make the process of scanning that paper under a light Easier so people can get out. Inside the train station where trains n cs are great. Btw watch out for tickets! You'll definitely get them if you're Bl, a girl, parked too long in a spot you were unsure of or waiting till business opened. Try fighting for this and you'll still pay a fine! I thought pl cared and they dont!
Qiana E — Google review
Parking is free for the first hour, but the clock on the ticket machines was 3 minutes fast, so even though we exited 58 minutes after the entrance time printed on our ticket, it said we had been there 61 minutes so we had to pay. Fix your damn clocks!! >:-(

Park
Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington is a historic zoo that has been around since 1891. Over the years, it has expanded and added new exhibits, making it more than double its original size. The zoo features indoor spaces like ZooLab, which houses exotic insects, meerkats, and parrots. Visitors can also explore the Katthoefer Animal Building to see snow leopards, tamarins, snakes, and Sumatran tigers.
It's a small zoo, so animals up close and personal. There isn't a really big habitat for any of the animals, so there isn't much for them to do except to pace. But kids and families really enjoyed their time there. It is small enough to manage for a field trip. Right next door, there is a splash pad and playground equipment that the kids enjoyed.
Rose B — Google review
Made a spontaneous stop on our road trip to this sweet little zoo! The grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly. We saw lots of animals! The wallabies were my favorite part. It was cool to get up-close and personal with all the animals.
Domi P — Google review
Such a cute little zoo. They do have 3 interactive areas. One with goats, one with wallabys and wallaroos, and one birt sanctuary. They have a tiger, snow leopards, red panda, and many more animals. There is plenty of room for RV's to park. It is handicap accessible.
Nicole B — Google review
For being a smaller zoo we had a great time here. We went through the whole zoo twice in 2 hours but I think we saw every animal because they were all out and active. We loved the baby anyeater, it's the 1st time we've seen one of those.
Ashley R — Google review
Really fun splash pad and large playground outside of the zoo enterance. Zoo itself is very toddler friendly. The Amazon exhibit and tiger are our favorites.
Elizabeth M — Google review
My family and I loved this zoo. Love the different variety of animals. So much fun.
